"It doesn't seem like they were. And so now an offensive line that we already had questions to begin with, now you look at it and say, well, even more questions. You know, does Trent Brown slide the left tackle? Does he, you know, do you move harran's left tackle? Now you have to maybe hope and cross your fingers that stupor can be some kind of depth piece almost right away versus developing him over the next year. You've got to hope that maybe Heinz is ready to kind of step in if you need him. So it puts the pressure on every other offensive lineman. David Andrews is not out there right now. You know, he's missed some of the OTAs. If not all of them. So, you know, there are questions about this O line and we had him before the draft and I think we have even more of them right now, which is not where you want to be with this football team. And of course, you look back, Greg, at that 2018 draft, you had two first round picks. And right now that draft doesn't look so good. No. You could have already traded Sony Michelle could very well trade Isaiah win and Sony Michelle certainly a good you would say that this both about both of them. Good solid players. First round picks? No, probably not. I mean, they could have had, we've talked about it for could have had Darius Leonard could have had Nick Chubb could have had DJ Moore. Can you just imagine this team with Darius Leonard at linebacker out of that draft? Nick Chubb, you know, could have been your feature running back if you wanted that Mark Andrews, the tight end in Baltimore and went in the third round in that draft. You know, it just reminds me it reminds me a lot of the 2015 brewing giraffe where they had those three first round picks and it's sort of like, you know, you get those multiple first round picks, your banking on, this has got to be the baseline, the base of our future for this team. And both teams just were not effective enough with those picks. And they're both paying the price.

"In Devin Booker's hands, they're really not playing campaign in this series at all, much at all. So he's been missing in action. And so by definition, that's going to put more on Devin Booker's shoulders, but they defended him a different way that really worked. In this last game, so I mean, that's the bad is that y'all gonna wake up? Chris Paul, are you still Chris Paul? Is it cliff Paul? So that's the question the thing you feel good about, the only thing you feel good about among all these things is that the series has seemed to really, really take on a different cadence and tone depending on where the games are being played. So for a game, I'm 7. Yeah, exactly. And I mean, to be real with you, the games really haven't been that close, at least, you know, there have been situations where the game was close for three quarters, and then a team pulls away. But the games have not been all that competitive, depending on where the game is being played. So you feel good from that standpoint, but that's not something that you really want to rest your laurels on. It really does feel like there's going to be need to be something schematically that you're trying to do here. If you're Phoenix, like I said, Dallas kind of retorted in game 6 after watching Booker just hunt guys in game 5 Luca game 5 a lot of times. They had a different pick and roll coverage for game 6. And so I'm not sure what Phoenix responds with. What I would love to see on some level, which is not really schematic as much as it is just like, let's do something different. You and I have talked a lot. About Devin Booker and how aggressive he is in first quarters and how much he scores in first quarters. Chris Paul did nothing in the last game in game one. I don't even know that he took a shot. I think the only thing he had on his box score other than minutes played was a turnover and game one. Our in game 6 in the first quarter, I think. I'd have to go back and look specifically. We're used to seeing him kind of save the best for last. Part of me would like to see him kind of get going. I mean, this is a total departure from what he normally does. But part of me would like to see him get going and the early stages of the game just so that you're not getting a flat performance from him. Set the tone early you can't knock a team out with Chris Paul going off in the first quarter, but I'd like to see him be more aggressive. He's just been really off. He's throwing passes that are kind of out. There was a play in the last game or the game before that where he had a really clear left handed layup that he just threw a pass after he got all the way to the basket. It was weird. He was throwing passes from half court out to the corner and Spencer Dinwiddie of all people is like stepping in front. It's just weird. Weird vibes, you would hope that being at home really breaks that. But like I said, I'm not comfortable resting on that. So I mean, game 7s are always weird anyway or have the potential to be. So I don't feel great about it. I mean, I would pick them for game 7, but I certainly don't feel good about it. I certainly don't feel good anytime that Chris Paul looks like he's out of a rhythm for this long of a stretch because we almost never see it. I can't remember the last time we've really seen it. Yeah. CP also fell late in the game on his hand. I don't know what the latest is on that, something maybe to keep an eye on. Going forward and frankly kinas defense on him has been excellent for ten minutes a game in this series. I kind of feel like they're hunting Luca too much. It's not who they are. And this is kind of a give and take with the idea of hunting a week individual defender in the postseason. Like, Phoenix during the regular season had a great offense 'cause they just ran their stuff and they out executed you and stack pick and roll. Side pick and rolls, the DH shows with 8 and guys would make angle cuts baseline cuts. They could space the floor. And they just always kept moving the ball and just kind of churning through their offense, going from action to action to action until you made a mistake. And they're not really doing that. Or they didn't really do that much in game 6. And it's like, I know they ran a ton of pick and roll with CP and 8 and you have to credit Dallas's defense there. They threw everything. Every type of coverage you can really have at that pick and roll and I thought the weak side help was excellent all game. They would switch and they would front whoever was on CP would switch front 8 and then there would be help on the backside. Sometimes they messed it up and Nate and scored over the top, but I thought that that strategy was working really well for Dallas. But I guess my point is just when you look at kind of the offensive rating for Phoenix, which has been really bad in these losses. It's like, maybe you should just go back to what got you here. Credit Dallas's defense for what they're doing and how hard they're playing and being versatile and big and being able to switch and all that is really, it's mucking up a lot of what Phoenix does, but just like stop hunting Luca. I know it sounds really silly. Do it in spots. You don't need to do it on every single play. You're bringing Jay Crowder into the action. That's really not great for you. He's Jay Crowder at the end of the day. So that's just an observation that I have. After watching game 6. Yeah, no, I mean, it's the truth. And. Too much of anything can be a bad thing. When you start naturally going outside of, it's almost like a game of horse or something where you're like, you start calling particular shots or saying that you're going to do this, as opposed to just doing it, just playing the game. Especially when Jason Kidd discredit, which by the way, I, a lot of people throughout the season before the season thought that Jason Kidd would be a bad fit for Dallas. It's just the first year we have to see more. He's been I mean, they've done really well. This is not a team that I think of as being not strong defensively. They don't have a whole lot of individual defenders. Reggie Bullock and obviously Dorian Finney Smith, we know about. But other guys have kind of, they're more than the sum of their parts, I think. Jason Kidd has had a really good game plan for them. He's had really good rebuttals in this series, including the one that I mentioned before about game 6. So when Dallas and Jason Kidd are making it more difficult intentionally for you to be able to hunt people, you might actually get to them, but still may not have a great advantage there. And when you think about how well this offense plays when the ball is just popping and guys are open, I mean, we can talk about that too when we talk about the series. I was counting it up before the podcast started. We're talking about a 93 point difference in this series so far through 6 games. In terms of how much they've been outscored by from three and the free throw difference, which we know Phoenix is a team that does not get to the line that much because of the types of shots they're getting from mid range often. But they're getting killed from the three point line. That's the big, big difference. Certainly on the road for Phoenix, you're hoping that that doesn't get as out of whack in a game 7 at home, but you can't really afford to have possessions where you're trying so hard to make something work when you might be able to get a better shot just running your normal offense. No question. Yeah, so I really don't have anything else to say about this series. I mean the three point line disparity is humongous as you pointed out and shit, but it should have been like the lead of this conversation. When Dallas shoots a lot of threes and makes a lot of threes there really hard to beat and Reggie Bullock was the guy last night, Dorian Finney Smith was the guy in game 5 game 5, was it? Yeah, I don't even remember. I'm not good at remembering individual games in a series. It's not my skill. But he had a big game earlier in this series. And so if you're able to hit threes on the road in Phoenix and Luca's stabbing people up, then I feel pretty good about the Mavs that said, I.

"Well, except for Carson Wentz and quite Nelson because they had their foot injuries. Injuries is another big deal. You know, they had a lot of key injuries across the team, Darius Leonard played on that bad ankle, his whole season, but teams deal with injuries. Teams, every team had to deal with COVID. Every team had to deal with injuries. Every team had to deal with with things, and the colts just at times were not able to do so. And so really, what I have to blame is just the team did not step up when it needed to step up. And that's all it is. That's all you can do. Could you argue that the colts underachieved, but not as much as we think, where I don't think the colts were a Super Bowl team. I thought they were a playoff team that underachieved by their season ended maybe three weeks earlier than it should have, right? Because and you can three weeks is not that long. In three games, that's two more Wednesday probably should have had on the whole year, right? And I think you could argue, well, they started the year with Carson injured..

"Are another team like that. A team. And I think the ravens were like that until they passed the point and no return with injuries, but these teams that can win these ugly games where you're like, wow, how did that happen? How do you win a game when Stafford makes the three throws that he made? You usually that's a loss every time. And they pulled it out. I was impressed. I want to put them in there. We have colts, up to -7 over the Raiders, but we can get a little ambitious with the money line. So wait, real quick on cam Akers. Everyone's fantasy championships. It's Thursday. Everyone's like, should I start cam Aker? Please don't. That's a playoff move. Advise against. Yeah. Colts raiders, so the Raiders, I called them the Michael Myers of this season, where we've thought we killed them off three times and we just haven't been able to do it yet. And they're certain types of games, they've been frisky underdogs. Where you kind of know it as it's happening, and then there's other games where you're like, the two chiefs games specifically where you're like, wow, this team blows. Yeah. I like this cold spot. I like that it's a must win game. It seems like we'll have once back in time because they changed the COVID rules. And it feels like the colts can run on them now. Should we be afraid of the Raiders in this game? How are you feeling about colts raiders, colts -7, but just the colts to win if we had the colts money line? Have you been watching hard knocks at all or no? I have not. I'm not saying to go binge it now, but you might want to pick the call to win the Super Bowl watching hard knocks. Like that is how much you love Frank Reich and this coaching staff. They're just dealing with shit from all over. No Quentin Nelson, his response is like, all right, that's fine. We got a really good offensive line. Let's go. They're special teams coach. Bubba ventrone, who is with the Patriots for years on their staff, is like one of these high energy, like nothing can stop us. We can overcome. They didn't have Quentin Nelson, Ryan Kelly, Darius Leonard, or anybody on that offensive line on Saturday, and it was like, it wasn't like, oh, we can overcome it was more just like no big deal. Let's go and let's do our thing and then went and you guys hit it. You and Sal were great on it and I respect you guys giving him credit when he had to make the throw. That was as good a throw as anyone has thrown in the NFL this season and it's like, gosh, if Taylor can still run for a hundred yards with four offensive lineman down and Wentz just has to make one or two throws, this might be the team that finds a way to win no matter what. And I look at this squad what they've been through. They're getting back Nelson. They're getting back Leonard. They're getting back a lot of guys. I don't know if wence plays on Sunday. I've got friends who have been the shit kicked out of them from COVID. And we're just saying, all right, well, there's new rules. 5 days, he'll be 5 days after being unvaccinated with COVID. I'm not sure if he's gonna be able to go Sunday. We'll check in on how he's feeling. Technically he can be out there. But that just is like the story of their season. And I would not bet against them in this game. Not the way. So does that. Does the Wednesday make you want to stay away from this? Are you the way? No, I'm fine. I don't care if it's when 50% or Sam ellinger. I feel like they'll find a way to win. Here's just a quick look for the listeners at the Raiders. The Raiders are three and 5 in their last 8 games. The three wins were the overtime Thanksgiving game against Dallas, which was the worst officiated game. Not only the year, but maybe over the last three years, you have the two point win over Cleveland on the Monday, which was the bizarre COVID game, which they almost lost that one anyway. And then you have last Sunday, which would be better. We took them. We took them and it was more about against drew luck who was this terrible as advertised. And the Fangio drew a combo, which they ran like they ran 40 plays total, which was close to an NFL record of minimum plays. So those are their three wins. There are 5 losses. Lost at the Giants by 7. Lost to the chiefs by 27, lost in the Bengals by 19 lost to Washington by two. Lost to the chiefs by 39. I don't think the Raiders are good. No Waller lost rugs forever. Offensively, it's a lot of Renfro and some Jacobs and then car depending on the quarter. Pretty good pass rush, a couple good guys on the front line. I like that Crosby. Yeah, I like Crosby's Crosby jumps out every time you watch, but it's cool. It just feels like the colts if they're really going to be. That colts also need the game. Yes. It's not like the coasts can be like, ah, yeah, it's sort of this out. It's like a must win for the country. Forget the division. Like, wild card wise. Both teams need it. I mean, the Raiders, I think I could be wrong with the Raiders win out and they've got to win the last two games. I think they make the playoffs. It's a very strange season. It feels like it's been 18 months. It's just been 18 weeks. But I think Colton at home, that place rocking. Nelson back. Leonard back. Sorry. I got to go cults. So we'll have the colts. We're going to team with the rams just on the ravens quick. The ravens are three and 6 in their last 9. They're -48 in those games. They've fallen in 19th and DVA. What's interesting is they be like, well, Lamar's been out. It's not Lamar. It's the defense. They're 28th in DVA defense. The rams are fourth overall. There's 7 6 and 5 in the three categories. And we're going to put the ribs and the colts together. Here's my question for you. Yeah. Rams calls moneyline parley, just they both have to win even money. Plus 100. All right. Or we.

"Where the game starts. All right, Greg, thanks. Let's go back to the colts. And just talk about big picture takeaways. Things that worried you the most about the Patriots in this game. Okay. I mean, number one is just sort of like a pet peeve that's sort of been in the back of my mind all season and you notice it every once in a while. But between hunter Henry, especially in this game, we talked about the fourth and one play. I think it could also be argued that the Darius Leonard interception, that Mac Jones was actually hoping to go to hunter Henry earlier after what he did was he faked left to move Darius Leonard, which he did move and it opened up the middle of the field. The problem was Mac one of the throw the ball and hunter Henry still has his freaking head down, and he's running his route instead of like looking like, oh, maybe he wants to put it on me a little bit early. Maybe it's not going to go as planned as exactly as we had it written up. And I think that Mac Jones almost like double clutched on that interception. To me, but the fourth and one play. Spread out and I've seen this before in other games. Hunter Henry is running his route his heads down, Greg Olson did a great job on the telecast pointing it out that he said, man, you gotta get your head around. Like, you don't have that much time. Like bang, Bing, bang, boom. Like, sometimes Mac Jones has all outputs this coming out of him and hunter Henry's like got his head down, Jacoby Myers is doing like 18 different moves to try to get open and there's a couple things that play in this. As opposed to like, say, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski in those spots. Julian and adelson and those guys are better. They could just get open. They didn't need to do fancy footwork and run this route. Like they just, they could get open quicker. They could get rid of man coverage. And these guys just can. It shows their bit of their limitation, even though I think hunter Henry is very good, especially in the scene. So, you know, I'm just sick and tired of that and needs to change. It's on, if Brady was here, it wouldn't be going on. It takes Mac Jones getting those guys in order, but he's a rookie that's not going to happen this year, but and he has more fist your fry with what's going on in the field. So I'm sure that's something that will build as a years go on. All right, what else what else do you like here?.

"We knew that they were going to play for four quarters and we knew it was going to be a battle. And that's exactly what we got. That's what he said in that postgame. Locker room speech after the game on patriots dot com. So they knew that this was going to be a dogfight. They knew this was going to be a grind. And they were able to eventually get the football and run it in the fourth quarter. I think they had 47 yards rushing heading into the fourth quarter and then they had 53 yards rushing or 54 or whatever it was in the fourth quarter alone. So they really broke out the running game late and were able to break through there. So early on, I was a little bit surprised to see how hard the tackles, jobs were with the edges of the Titans defense, but again, I guess maybe when your coach by Mike vrabel is one of the best edge setters in patriots history. That's what you get, right? You know, maybe that's where those guys are getting coached up properly on the techniques and stuff like that of edge settings. So we'll see. A lot of questions in the chat about Mike on Wendy. We're gonna get these questions all season long when it starts playing some more. I don't know where they put them. We keep talking about this. I don't know where they put them. You know, Ted Keras has been really solid for them. He did give up a sack, but other than that was pretty clean in this game. And he brings a cerebral aspect to the position that they really like. Bill Belichick gave on Friday what a 304 hundred word answer. About an hour, Ted Keras being a center as translated to guard and how important that is for the team and for the continuity and the chemistry and the communication of the team and all those types of things. So I don't know. I mean, we talk about this every week. They like Keras better right now. They think there's a glue guy for them. They think that he brings a different IQ and dimension to that position that isn't just about who has the highest Madden rating, right? This is about deeper things than that. And I mean, you saw Michael and when he was getting the game last week too, like, he can still play. I wonder if at a certain point, it becomes a matchup thing. Like, oh, hey, Ed Oliver is not a big guy. Like, you know, maybe we want Michael own wendo in this game to just bully him out of the game and then against the colts with Darius Leonard. That's a really smart player. Let's see if we can get that extra center out that Mike alone who's not smart. But let's get that extra setter Senate eyes on the field and Ted carrots against the colts. Like you can match it up, hey, we know we're going to run the ball this drive. Let's get Michael and wendo in there. Like, hey, there's probably going to be blitz is coming here. Let's get Ted in there. Right. It could be as simple as that. It could alternate them. Also, I think Harrison might own one of the same mad rating. I'll check that. And also, I think that 6 O line packages coming eventually, right?.

"He still recovering from a torn Achilles, but otherwise, man, their colts offensive line they have is fantastic. And if Eric Fisher can stay healthy and play at a high level, that's going to be a really, really impressive offensive line. And one of the better ones in the NFL. The colts have three stud running backs. They have starter Jonathan Taylor. They have nahim Hines, who is a guy that catches passes out of the backfield more like a scat back. And then Marlon Mack is a good contributor who can bring depth off of the bench. Cold stop receiver TY Hilton right now unfortunately starts the year on the IR he will miss at least the first three games. But even without TY Hilton, the colts have a couple really solid receiving options. They have Michael Pittman junior. They have Paris Campbell. They have Zach Pascal. Plus two Titans Jack Doyle and mo Ali Cox. Now, the defensive front for Indianapolis is terrifying. They are led by defensive tackle divorce Buckner. He actually apparently played hurt all year last year. They also just drafted a new defensive end quitty pay. He should have a really, really big impact immediately. I love a story love his family love everything about quitty pay. I think he's going to be a stud in Indianapolis. Linebackers Bobby O'Reilly and then Darius Leonard is outstanding and outstanding fantastic linebacker in Indy. Now corner is a concern, especially week one with the colts. Xavier roads is going to be out against Seattle. And when you're missing Xavier roads and you're missing your starting left tackle Eric Fisher week one against Seattle a team that I think on paper if everyone's healthy, they call it their way better than Seattle. But unfortunately, if you're missing a couple guys and Seattle is Russell Wilson and you're missing a corner, especially rocky I'll send your number two corner is a big weakness for this football team. So even if you were fully healthy in the secondary ware, Xavier Rhodes was healthy, I still would be worried about rocky a sin trying to guard DK Metcalf occasionally. Defenses are gonna go after rocky as in this year. He is a weakness on this football team. And this year is going to come down to a couple of things in indie. Things that have to go well. Not having a number two corner is a problem. That other corner, the guy not named Xavier roads, that's really bad. It's a hole on their roster. And they match up particularly badly with the tendency Titans of AJ Brown and Julio Jones that receiver. So Xavier roads can guard one of those guys, but the other one's gonna have to be guarded by rocky a sin. And that really, really makes me uncomfortable. It makes me nervous. However, the colds are a team that I think man if.

Wouldn't he be better going on Fox News? Some of these Outlets that would ask him tough questions. But maybe try to convince people that aren't vaccinated yet, which is his goal. Wouldn't it be better for Fauci to go on some of these other outlets to try to convince those people to get vaccinated? Because I don't know who he's talking to? At this point on CNN while you're a decent person, Nige, and so actually you're operating from the standpoint that he actually this is actually about public health, and he actually cares whether people live or die. Felt she doesn't care about anything. But Fauci Fauci is a glory hound. He self absorbed. He's enriched himself. He's living look, you know, Fauci is an old man. There is way more behind him, then ahead of him, and I don't mean to be crashed, saying that, but I mean, he's an old man, and he has been a glory hound throughout much of his life, and this is the ultimate and has been the ultimate opportunity. He knows exactly what to say. I mean, people remember, Fauci became famous for his work with AIDS and HIV in the eighties. Taking positions. That the media wanted to hear. That's how he said things that the media wanted to hear. And that's how he became famous in the eighties. He's doing the same thing that I did the same thing Now it's not rooted in science, and I mean, the guy has been caught being a fraud. A hypocrite. He lied in front of Congress if you or I did what, Fauci? Uh, you know about the gain of function. Research is what you're talking short the Wuhan lab. If we did what Fauci did, we would be in a Jack Bauer prison somewhere getting awful treatment because you can do a lot of things but lie to Congress is not One of them unless you're lying to the Democrat Party who and you're pushing the narrative lying in front of the Democrat Party, and you're pushing the narrative. They like Anthony Fauci is a disgusting, terrible person. And I think that there's part of me that thinks that there is a certain segment of the population. The, uh, really hardcore left wing or progressive Democrats that hate Donald Trump and hate his supporters. That don't want to see Maga hat wearing Trump supporters get vaccinated. They like it when they diabetes. They were talking about it over the weekend. I mean, Howard Stern was making jokes about the conservative radio hosts that have died that have said they didn't get the vaccine. They laugh about it. It's funny to them. And also, um it's it's It's a situation where you have somebody poking you in the chest, saying You're an idiot. You are an anti science anti-vaxxer. You are ridiculous if you don't get this, and so it's a win win situation for those people because they, uh you know they have the moral superiority and they have the bullying. They bully you to get the vaccine. Which is a win for them, or you don't get the vaccine, and there's a chance that you wind up dying in eliminating more of the Maga supporters. It's not about whether you live or die, and that's the thing they always try to spin it like they're concerned about your health. Joe Rogan was fine and look at how they treated Joe Rogan. Of course. Look at the look at the falsehoods, the false narratives the lives that they made up. No. Thankfully, Rogan is taking the animal house approaches. Don't get mad, get even. And I hope he sues CNN hospital because they don't want they don't care about whether you live or die. They care about whether they can control you. And in the Internet age, the social media age. They do that They do that through bullying. Look, I know you guys talked with Dan Dockets last week about this about how differently the media treats Darius Leonard. Yeah. Vs House Carson wins, You know people ask me. Why are you the way you are? You know, I clap back at people all the time. Don't threaten me with a good time to meter yard to me, the more I like it. And the reason you do that is you can't let people bully you around. You're gonna come at me You're going to earn it and that and I thought that was so astute. You guys touched on that Dan touched on that. The reason Darius Leonard gets a free pass is these woke guys in the local sports media? No. If we come at him, he's going to come back at us. And they're really just wimps. There were many of these people are really just cower. Words. And so they don't. They wouldn't do that. And Rod. We're going off the rails with Rob Kendall here, and they're all hypocrites. And when you got guys like Jimmy Kimmel joking about how well we should give ICU beds to vaccinated people in the hillbilly hicks that are ingesting horse goo. Well, sorry, Weezy, you no time to die, paraphrasing that joke. But what Jimmy Kimmel is doing What Howard Stern even said is you're alienating a certain segment of the population that is a minority that is underprivileged does have access to the kind of health care that they're talking about. So we're they're not just talking about a political party when they say, uh, yeah, I guess you're gonna have to die. Why would you if your unvaccinated you don't deserve a ICU bed? If your unvaccinated you don't deserve a seat at this table at this restaurant well, Look at the number..

I mean, people remember, Fauci became famous for His work with AIDS and HIV in the eighties, taking positions, uh, that the media wanted to hear. That's how he said things that the media wanted to hear. And that's how he became famous in the eighties. He's doing the same thing or did the same thing. Now. It's not rooted in science. It's I mean, the guy has been caught being a fraud. A hypocrite. He lied in front of Congress if you or I did what, Fauci? Uh, you know about the gain of function. Research is what you're talking about The Wuhan lab. If we did what Fauci did, we would be in a Jack Bauer prison somewhere. Getting awful treatment because you can do a lot of things. But lie to Congress is not one of them unless you're lying to the Democrat Party who and you're pushing the narrative lying in front of the Democrat Party, and you're pushing the narrative. They like Anthony Fauci is a disgusting, terrible person. And I think that there's part of me that thinks that there is a certain segment of the population. The Really hardcore left wing or progressive Democrats that hate Donald Trump and hate his supporters that don't want to see, uh, Maga hat wearing Trump supporters get vaccinated. They like it when they die. They they were talking about it over the weekend. I mean, Howard Stern was making jokes about the conservative radio hosts that have died that have said they didn't get the vaccine. They laugh about it. It's funny to them. And also, um, it's it's It's a situation where you have somebody poking you in the chest and you're an idiot. And I hope he sues CNN because they don't want they don't care about whether you live or die. They care about whether they can control you. And in the Internet age, the social media age They do that They do that through bullying. Look, I know you guys talked with Dan Dockage last week about this about how differently the media treats. Darius Leonard versus house. Carson Wentz. You know, people ask me. Why are you the way you are? You know, I clap back at people all the time. Don't threaten me with a good time. The meter yard to me, the more like it. And the reason you do that is you can't let people bully you around. You're gonna come at me, You're going to earn it. And and that, and I thought that was so astute. You guys touched on that damn touched on that. The reason Darius Leonard gets a free pass is these woke guys in the local sports media? No. If we come at him, he's going to come back at us, and they're really just wimps. The room. Any of these people are really just cowards. And so they don't. They wouldn't do that. And Rod. We're going off the rails with Rod Kendall here and they're all hypocrites. And when you got guys like Jimmy Kimmel joking about how well we should give ICU beds to vaccinated people in the hillbilly Hicks that are Ingesting horse goo. Well, sorry. Wheezy you no time to die Pair facing that joke, But what Jimmy Kimmel is doing What Howard Stern even said is, you're alienating a certain segment of the population. That is a minority that is underprivileged that it does have access to the kind of health care that they're talking about. So weird. They're not just talking about a political party when they say Yeah, I know. I guess you're gonna have to die. Why would you if your unvaccinated you don't deserve ICU bed if your unvaccinated, you know Deserve a seat at this table. This restaurant well, look at the number one of the percentages of people that are unvaccinated minorities and underprivileged and it is, um it's almost raises to say stuff like that. I would think it's not almost racist. It is racist, and it's it's It's, uh, so insulting to people. Who are looking at this saying, You guys don't even know what you want. Yet Israel's on its fourth booster, or, you know the fourth. The fourth shot the the extra booster now that they have no idea what the end game of this is, and they look at people who are Making an educated decision who are open to the vaccine who are saying I'm going to wait till you guys have this figured out before? I just keep injecting things into my body. And then when you guys haven't figured out, you come to me, and then I'll make the final choice. They demean those people and they're actually keeping people from getting the vaccine. By the way, they're treating them And don't forget. Government is evil in this government is the villain government. If government had been honest throughout Covid more people would be willing to trust government. But everything government has said throughout Covid has been alive from 15 days to flatten the curve to where we're at today. Um, Larry elder running against Gavin Newsom for that recall in California you we see yesterday. Uh, Larry Elder out campaigning, He is attacked by a Democrat, flaming liberal throwing eggs at him wearing a gorilla mask going to the defense of you know, Mr White privilege. Gavin Newsom, who is the embodiment the face of white privilege in California, running against a guy who's dad cleaned toilets and worked his way up just because he's an African American. Um, but that doesn't you know, he doesn't go along with the group. Think they're the L A Times labeled him as the the black face of white supremacy. And this kind of goes along with everyone thing we're talking about here. Where is Antifa writing right now. You have a white person in a gorilla mask attacking a black man. Where is where is the squad? Where is AOC? Where is where is any Democrat denouncing what they saw yesterday there would be antifa riots in the streets happening If this was the other way around. I think the best phrase that you could use would be highly fraudulent. And these people that you just named are highly fraudulent. They're opportunistic there, hucksters there completely in it for themselves, their own power, their own enrichment And you're right. I mean, can you imagine? If it were a Republican governor with a black, insurgent rising candidate, Democrat attacked by a white conservative, wearing a gorilla mask, throwing eggs at him. Unbelievable. He would mass demonstrations in the streets to be all over MSNBC and CNN. You would already have. The Justice Department would have already launched an investigation for a crime, but nothing Because this isn't about race..

"Be. I don't have time couple of years back. Couple of years We have some breaking news here. Thirty minutes into this beautiful wednesday september. Two thousand twenty one carson wentz officially playing for the ed rappaport the colts. Qb carson wentz be a full participant. Today in practice coach. Frank told reporters he'll be on the field but week one impressive recovery to say the least rap sheet. Not only did he have that broken foot from high school that they had to do surgery on the projected in five to twelve weeks out. He was back in like two weeks somehow. No boot no nothing just walking around doing this. Covert situation is going to remain a situation. Just like with zack. martin just like what. The tackle from the miami dolphins and other players at this is going to happen too. But right now i can stay clearly carson. Wentz coach taking field against seattle seahawks. Luke soul stadium luke. So stadium sold out. Jim mercy said he's adding comfortable folding chairs so he can pack more people into that fucking oil. Can't we are going to go bananas this weekend in russell wilson's be wishing that they traded him to the chicago bears whenever darius leonard boxes picking up that offense one russell wilson buried this off season twenty pays coming off the end. You're talking about a defense kenny. Mosel be locked on winston. Just beat fucking a broken foot surgery synopsis. I never an povich all by his damn self. He's didn't shot. Somehow he fucking roseman in philadelphia. Had him howie roseman from philadelphia. That blew up an entire team. Basically has set philadelphia eagles fans back in time before they even won a super bowl. Which wasn't that long ago. Howie roseman comes out and said.
Indianapolis Colts, Darius Leonard Working on Lucrative Contract Extension
"Is now the highest paid linebacker in football at five years. $95 Million.19 a year But he's probably only going to hold on to that title. Steve for Short period of time because when the Colts signed Darius Leonard to his contract extension It's going to be for more money than that. Probably 100 million upwards of that. Yeah, and it'll it'll be quite the extension. Tremaine Edmunds is sitting there watching that as well, knowing that sooner or later, he's going to sign his extension. We're waiting on the Josh Alex is that season. Where they can get this done before the season begins. They've got a handle on what the cap is going to be this year and going forward. It will go up from there.

"Those players look up the urban Meyer And I know that's tough to assume that in the NFL Where it's a different set of circumstances. Players have so much more money, more cachet. But urban is that big, big swinging. You know what that's still commands that respect it has that cachet. So I think Jacksonville coming off one in 15, that third team to watch, and now we go to to repeat offenders because I had both these teams teams to watch last year, one of them I was validated the other not so much. We go to the Indianapolis Colts. Heard Chris Ballard over the last week talking about his draft, where there were some major major question marks. What the big move here. Out with the old in with the broken Out with Philip Rivers they bring in Carson Wentz. And I'm fascinated by Carson Wentz. He basically went Chuck Knobloch, Rick Ankiel. Over the last year, he looked broken. It was sad. A guy with all the talent. Carson Wentz guy was an M v P candidate with the Philadelphia Eagles. A guy that was incredible. The minute he came into the NFL And Frank, right leaves. And after the Super Bowl, there are some Hard feelings. It would seem They stick with When's they say goodbye to Nick Foles? And it went downhill in a hurry. It becomes a disaster last year and people lose their jobs. Doug Peterson loses his job in Philadelphia Meanwhile, Carson Wentz ah great roster. He goes to a great situation pretty solid organization, a team that finished 11 5. Last year. However, they did not replace. Anthony Costanza. What? Left tackle? Maybe it's quite Nelson. Maybe not. They go equity pay a defensive end. They lose Anthony Walker to the Browns in free agency, a linebacker that was very complimentary. Darius Leonard and some of the other guys that they had. Look, this is make or break. Four. Person went so he has a bad year. He's done and I got stick with him. Not that team, not without roster. I think they're gonna be much must watch especially early in that season. Is Carson Wentz going to still be broken? Or can frank right? Can he make this thing happen? He revitalized the career, Carson Wentz and finally the Cleveland Browns. Come on. Arguably the best roster in the NFL. Coming off 11 and five coming off a playoff appearance and a win coming off an agonizing loss of the Can. City chiefs. We talked about some of the losses from these teams will. Where did these players go? They went to the Browns. Troy Hill. John Johnson Walker should avian Clowney you've heard of him. I know he did have a sack last year, but now he's gonna be on the opposite side and moving around from Myles Garrett. One of the best running back situations in the sport. With not only Nick Szabo Karim Hunt. You're kidding. Odell Beckham back after the injury last year, some of the videos have you seen him on social media? You never see bad videos on social media. When guys are rehabbing. I do know that But It looks like this could be pretty special. All with the Browns after a terrific year with Kevin's too fancy organization finally stabilized in Cleveland. Believe me, You are watching every Baker Mayfield game with the Cleveland Browns because he's still one of the more polarizing quarterbacks in the league, Pff, Adam and top 10 last year. Could he be an M V P candidate? Things go well. So those are my teams. I cannot wait to watch the Cardinals, The Rams, Jaguars, colts and Browns. What do your teams will find out? Ryan Wilson and his thoughts? He joins us coming up next. Don't go anywhere. Pick six podcast here on CBS Sports Radio. Then we'll go back to the phones Got plenty more N ba NFL Coming your way..

"That. What happened to the buccaneers last year. They signed tom. Brady of other pieces right to guys came for less. And they won the super bowl letter for net antonio brown gronkowski came back. Tom brady took less money. Tom brady probably made more money stain with new england but he took less my and play for tampa bay. Look at the results. A super bowl win in one season the first season. He's ever been in tampa bay. Money doesn't always equal success spending money on a company for renovations that don't need to be done doesn't mean that your your company is successful when you use the money on other stuff like how many tight ends do the new england patriots really need. They'd signed by. What two or three of them. I think they have three tight ends at least minimum designed. You don't need that. Many titans that the league is showing that they have success with two tight end said whether aaron hernandez and rob gronkowski back in the day the league has changed due to tight end sets like back then. Yes nice to have multiple weapons. Jonnu smith hunter henry for sure but too tight ends are not needed. Money doesn't need to always be spent on stuff you already have because you have a lamour gain and you go and buy a porsche. What does that tell you. I mean you just not happy with lamborghini. Maybe i don't know or you always want a porsche and lamborghini. I dunno whatever your preference but don't spend money and stuff that maybe isn't going to benefit you in the long-term teams have different ways of building. Right they have different ways to spend their money. The coal love using the colts. Because i think. Chris bowers a very good. Gm and people. That don't see that. I don't know what to tell you again. He's built. He builds to the draft develop guys and if guys hit their and their contract and they are not worth keeping around. I'm sorry go find business somewhere else. I'm in the business of bringing guys in developing amp. They really are worth keeping around. I will give them a long term contract. I e quinta nelson darius leonard. Those guys are set up for long term contracts for the colts..

"It was trending like crazy when I got up this morning so you can check that out again, one division exclusively on Disney Plus speaking of Indianapolis Colts, we're going to have one of their best players. One of the best players in the entire sport is going to join me coming up here in just a few moments, and that's Various Leonard and I was watching on get right before we did get up this morning. I was watching SportsCenter and there was a fabulous story about Darius landed like one of the really good feel good stories. They framed it as feel good Friday. And they had various letters, one of the best players in the entire NFL on there, and I only got to hear about half of it because I was busy coming in here. So Bob's let me know we have various ready to go and I'm looking forward to hearing that story from him, and then we will get to the bottom of this. He obviously knows these teams is going up against extremely well on a per game basis areas. Leonard is the most productive tackler in the NFL. In the last 20 years. Last 20 years. Looky Clea is third. Zach Thomas. The old Dolphin is second and various Leonard is number one on the list. He's literally that good, and that is part of that Indianapolis Colts situation. That to me is if I'm at Stafford Have you got little birdies whispering in my ear? Stafford's gonna happen soon. We will know something about Stafford soon. So if I'm Stafford, and if I'm the Lions, you wanna ship Stepford over to the A F. C. All those possibilities that feels like a very real option and possibility to make, which is why I'm sort of putting this speedy anus. On the Andrew luck piece of this, but this could be a very interesting little weak for the Indianapolis Colts. And again. A huge part of the reason is that they have one of the very best linebackers in the NFL. Not just now, but in recent memory. His name is Darius Leonard. He joins me here on the Goodyear Hotline. Helping you discover the road ahead. Goodyear more driven. Good morning, Darius Leonard. Morning. How are you? I'm terrific. And I want you to share with the audience here because I got to see only a little bit of it on SportsCenter this morning, But there was a feel good Friday story that you were telling. And I could see that there were other people involved, and I only picked up a little bit of the story. But why not let you share Can you share with our audience? A special event that just took place that I know that they took some time to celebrate this morning on SportsCenter. You know, I went to the bm the downer Indianapolis where other places kind of damage the and my way out. Officer Greg, they walked up to me. And the guys city couldn't buy my lunch and you know, he Get a card. Just they're so once I left there, you know, when the cracker barrel and as I was, you know, I thought about returning the same favor. So about everyone in the cracker barrel, you know, lunch, So I mean, just returning that same thing that same favorite and No, We just probably gotta reconnect there on SportsCenter. So that was that was a good thing. They're so ability kind gestures again, You know, just keep going. So there's welcome. Be a better place. That's a That's a beautiful story. And it's a perfect example of exactly the kind of thing we need right now. The rebuilding whatever it is that we feel like we may have lost in this country is going to begin with just individual people doing nice things. For other individual people. So I love that story. Let me ask you something, cause I was just talking about it. I was reading a story in the Indianapolis papers about Andrew luck and how the door remains open in the eyes of ownership for him to come back. He's 31 years old, and to my knowledge, he has never given anyone any indication. He's giving that some thought you played with him for just one year is have you ever had any reason to believe? Has he given you any reason to believe that his mind is open to the idea of coming back and playing again? Now. I honestly don't think so, man. Me personally, you know, just playing this game. No, not physically is and seeing the day that he went through every wise when your When your body to you if you can't go in the more you you gotta listen to the body. And now they have a wife and kids, You know, now it's more so. What can I do for my family? How can you know you want to be there for for your child, So I don't think you will come back thing. You know, he did everything he could He fought in that he possibly can for this organization. Not that you'd come for us to move on. I like we did with the Kobe there. We did with Uncle Phil. So I mean, now we gotta keep our forward. I mean, people keep bringing up Andrew luck, but we gotta understand that he retired and we gotta understand that we Thank you breaking bringing him up when you know we're trying to move this thing into the to the right direction. If he's not willing, you know, make that return. That's okay. Interesting. Then, if not, you know, you just had a really good season with Philip Rivers leading your team. It takes you to the playoffs, lose a heartbreaker to Buffalo in the first round, And then he announces his retirement. So from where you sit, Darius, what does the quarterback situation and Indianapolis look like right now? Oh, Uh, no. Um, I think the only quarterback we have on on contract right now, Jacoby's and, um, you know, he's a good quarterback. You know, I've seen a lot of great things from him. In practice. You get Got better as the weeks went by. That's one thing that stood out in my eyes that goes into making some crazy. I mean, some crazy throws in practice, so you know he's got the talent, but, you know You gotta have the stairs, So I don't mind if we don't know exactly what's gonna go down. I know just much y'all know. So you know, hopefully, you know, we're just control even told that it get me I just had to get better. They then when I go back, you know be what I could be, and then let the chips fall that quarterback wherever they fall out. I totally get it. And I know that you can't reference any current player by name or talk about them specifically who's under contract somewhere else because there were rules that prohibit that. But just generally speaking the idea of going out on acquiring another veteran quarterback right now, as you did a year ago in Philip Rivers, and as you know that there's all these names that are out there right now. Would you like to see the Colts go out and get one of these high profile veteran quarterbacks that might Available..

Stern channels is just absolutely exotic. Being back on serious and the new sports radio channel two. Oh four for me. I have not been wearing underpants all day long. I just wanted to say that Carver high do that frequently. Also on setting up a -ffiliated fights at two. oh five not channel to the weight. Class to mafia stranding me. I'll be fighting for sports map against the heads of sports division at serious including spitz and colin in a fistfight. Later this month set up at fight. Island can't wait to see it. And i'm sure you won't be wearing underpants this weekend. Either because we have back to back triple headers on. Nfl wild card weekend so no pants for you. Either coming up. On saturday and sunday. Let's start with the first game of course The buffalo bills and the indianapolis colts we start with. Stefan digs scotty. That's right the man who led the nfl in receptions and receiving yards this year. He's excited to start is playoff journey with the buffalo bills. Get a new season new opportunity. Day we aren't as attain no drought this season. We had our ups and we had our down on. It seemed like we grew this year. We got better this year especially down. Especially when i last night a lot from amid growing from the minute i felt like we can into the postseason we are here now with less than ten of us especially and it all starts trying to win offers opportunity. Great team wanted to more balancing. Nfo khanna similar to us. So that's going to be a challenge for from the now we look forward to like. I think the guy had a pro bowl incredible season. He was the best in my opinion in the nfl and finally he gets his chance to just go off because he was such a crybaby pain in the ass in minnesota and and weasel his way out of there to go play for buffalo. So it's great to hear and finally shut up with all the complaining and just be a great receiver that he is now. Thank god somebody the stones to say. Is there anything worse than these. Prima donnas players. They cried when they're not happy when they're not getting the ball enough there like a little kid ball going home to my mommy yes digs of course actually has been a little hobbled at practice to last today. Scotty i don't know if that's just them resting list julie questionable for the game on saturday. I'm sure he's going to be fine other side of is excuse me let's go. Let's get the excuses flowing. Let's go to the other side of the coin darius leonard and the colts he says. Scotty what are we worried about. There's no pressure on us. Everybody says the bills are gonna win. It doesn't matter. Here's leonard money for me is never know oppression and let a coach in when you decide to see. Everybody expect you to fail recognized. Everybody saying that you fell. I mean i look at something today. It was pretty crazy that you know jets. Everybody said bill's gonna win. Everybody's counting us out. So you know we just go in there and just be us do nothing more Be us control. You're playing great football and over. We come out with a bigger but when i Fresher donald pressure. We don't have any pressure on as i think reverb last and we just got gotta step up when play comes word at all unless just get down to business. He is a bad assets. That guy plays football. I would love having 'em on my team any day of the week i mean. Let's get it on. These are violent physical football teams. I think it is a incredible way to kick off wild car weekend within what i deem the best game at a weekend. Frankly yeah i'm ready for it. A little leery about the six and a half with the bills. But i don't care scotty for the three up just looking for them to win straight up. Second game on saturday. Rams and the seahawks. Jamal adams has been banged up. We know how big he is to the seahawks defense. He says he's going to be just fine about russell. Wilson scottish seahawk offense as not been good in the second half of the season. Wilson says all that matters is that the offense is closing out. Games here is russ every game dictates itself and you just play the game as it comes to you. Try to force the game. You think you you you play the game as is and and i think for us obviously you always wanna start faster obvious. We know how we've done that a lot this year but i think that we also the key is also be able to finish and i think the good thing about some of these past couple of weeks games in my opinion is is that To be able to be in tight matchups tight at the end of the end of the season to help prepare you for the playoffs because they are always kinda crazy there. It'd be emotional. It can be all this and that and the team that can really settle down and be calm. It'd be poisoned focused in on what what the mission is and execute but the end of the game. Now those are usually went. Those type situations like in the super bowl. When you through that past two butler at the goal line to lose the game you mean like that okay thanks. That was a trucker hat. Wasn't it. I mean that was the worst cab ever show. Trucker hats are back. That's the trucker that's going on is what it is all about right now. Alison packs truckers wear hats and clothes and they're lee jeans. Thanks the lines actually gone down to three and a half now. We're still have. We're not gonna not game time. If it's going to be jared goff. Of course john wolford. Let's go now to the w. f. t. washington football team taking on tampa saturday night game. Eight o'clock start with tom. brady scotty. He knows that the bucks have to work hard to get past the washington football team. I think that nothing is given. You know you have to earn everything so you get to this point in the year gotta earn it to win this game. You gotta earn it. And you're playing against teams have ever really proven themselves to be the best teams Inner divisions all year. And you know we're going up against the division winner in the team very talented in certain defensive a lot of playmakers so we have put it all together and you know in order. It said advanced. You have to play good football and you can only win one game a week. So you're not promised anything you know if you don't play well as one of these teams sweat six games this weekend or sixteen won't be practicing on monday and they're six that will be and a you want to be one of those teams from this week in that continues to play on but you got to play well and if you don't play well chances are you'll be watching next weekend. Here's the deal. They're going to win so easily. That what. I did in honor of the game carver high. I went on the tvd twelve die. And i lost eight pounds in eight days. And i feel terrific and tom is gonna cruise over that crappy washington football team like. Nobody's business like tossing salads. I'm going to be having cucumbers carrots. A little vinograd little on top there some sliced beef but only four pieces. And i got it all under control. No brad staying focused hydrating looking good and pure skinned. As tom and chicks dig me. I'm getting a lot of action. Thirty four seat looks like giselle to me every night with the lights off. everything's fantastic. Mike evans was out on the practice field for the bucks today. Of course we know him he got. He left the game last sunday. We'll see if he's going to be good to go. Aryan says it will be a game. Time for evans and as far as washington goes Taylor heineke took a horse team. Reps look first team reps over. Alex smith at practice is this the game or is he. I don't know. I don't think that this is the game. And he's going to play out and this mind games that rivera's trying to play. Maybe that hurt. I don't think it matters taylor. Heinecke is not beating the bucks. On saturday nights gotti. Let's be honest. Here if if heineken place I literally will start drinking again. And they'll lose thirty..
"darius leonard" Discussed on The Bone 102.5
"The Colts leading Jaguars tend to nothing in the numbers are all Indianapolis eight. First downs to the Jags won 1 27 on the ground. Philip Rivers hadn't have to throw it much 46 yards, five of eight. Taylor's done most of the damage. 18 plays 173 yards for the Colts. 10 plays 32 yards with jackals on Now we go left to right for Jacksonville on third down and four Clinton in the pocket. Nobody opened throws over them and a little diving catches that caught by Tyler Eifert. Yes, it is at the 41 yard line. He got 10. That's a first down good protection that time Cam Robinson. Left tackle Juwan Taylor, the right tackle Excellent job on the edges. And Tyler, right for former Cincinnati bangle had to go. 76 Number, 76 has reported as an eligible receiver number. 76. It's an eligible receiver just took that right off the top blade of the artificial surface here on that's well. Richardson now is playing a tight end position for Jacksonville on the right side. Hogan Bilal. He takes the handoff spin move as he got hit after a gain of a couple Stretches of the form. It will call four yards up to the 45 yard line, so it'll be second down and six for just joining US Indianapolis with attended nothing lead. They needed one of four teams to lose today, and they got their wish with Miami losing the Buffalo Now the jacks after me, the Colts have to win this game to make the playoffs. They also have an opportunity to win the F C South. If Tennessee would lose this afternoon in Houston, second down and six play action fake back to throw Glennon nobody They're going to run a field and It will not be a sack. He makes it back to the line of scrimmage, the 45 yard line, but good coverage. Nobody opened. It will be third down and six. I think the secondary of the Colts is the most improved part of this whole team. I think getting Xavier Rhodes at the corner. He's come back and all roads are closed with Xavier Rhodes on one side and Julian Blackmon, the rookie out of Utah has been fantastic at free safety. All right, third down coming up. They converted on their last one to keep this drive going there at the 45 in their own territory third down and six, got some heat coming blood and got hit. The ball came out of his hand, picked up by the Colts and running down the near left sideline. On that ball was fumbled and out of bounds, So we'll see if this was a forward pass. That ball was picked up in the secondary by three months, Smith and it looks like they're calling it a fumble. The return was 28 yards, that he was finally tackled in. The ball came loose, went out of 12. What was the maniac that came on a glitch that time Darius Leonard. And he rocked my glad he never knew there. He came back. Mr picked up block that time and Leonard came three and he shook that ball loose. Mike Glennon took a heck of a shot to the back side. Really? TJ Cherry picked it up off a hot It was just a good bounce right? There was T J Carey who picked up the ball 38. This might get reviewed that I mean, even when When it got hit. It looked like his arms was kind of going forward. Doug Marone got that challenge flag in his hand. He's just waiting to see if he needs to throw it. So the league is taking a look at this. All change of possessions are looked at. Yeah, on our referee Sean Smith just huddled in a couple of his refereeing crew here this afternoon, waiting to hear from the league while we have a chance. We mentioned Frank Reich being the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts 28 years ago today, Where's Paul? Ruling on the field? The fumble recovered by the defense is under review. Okay, so they're going to review this, which means we will believe pause here. All right, We will go to a break. We'll continue our Frank Wright story and get the review with 12 56 to go in the first half our score. Indianapolis 10, Jacksonville. Nothing time out on the field is listening to the NFL on campus immediately. It's the NFL on one or 2.5 the boat. Okay, Parachutes. Ready, boy. The things I go through to get on a loan rates a slow.
Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Indianapolis Colts this weekend
"Look the american football conference. The playoffs are not intact as of yet the steelers just a few weeks ago where the number one seed in the american football conference now. They are the number three seed after three straight losses. Look this team yes. They are in the playoffs. But they are fighting for momentum redemption and seating. And it's very important that they take care of their own business by beating the indianapolis colts which is going to be a tough task. The colts are coming in at ten and four. They ride a fantastic defense behind a forest buckner and also darius leonard and very capable offense as well led by the old wily veteran by the name of philip rivers. Yes they know him. They have been around him a lot in the last seventeen seasons and rivers has faced off against ben roethlisberger as well remember he was the guy who was supposed to go to the steelers and number eleven but ben roethlisberger was picked instead because he went earlier on to the new york giants and then was promptly traded to the sago charters. Thank you ally manning for refusing the play in san diego. You're whiny ways really helped pave the way for to super bowl champions in the pittsburgh steelers in that era.
All 12 playoff coaches are tied to Bill Walsh or Parcells
"The head coaches in the playoffs that season come from the coaching. Trees of other Bill Walsh for Bill Parcells Abella check. Anthony Lynn, Sean Payton. All coached under Parcells Jason Garrett and Bill O'Brien are further down the Parcells coaching tape. But they all come from the Bill Parcells coaching tree. And that means the other seven come from the Bill Walsh coaching tree. Andy Reid coached under Mike Holmgren was Walsh disciple. Four others come directly from Andy. That's John Harbaugh. Matt Nagy Doug Peterson and Frank Reich. So as we prepare to watch these games this weekend and throughout these playoffs. There is still the influence of those two legendary preeminent coaches of the eighties. If you will in Walsh and parcels what what thoughts Trump to your mind? When you see that? Look, I know that Bill walls is someone who is highly highly respected by guys like parcels end by guys like Bill Belichick. He's at the very very top of this whole thing. And they as far as situational football's concern, and as far as really just being able to build an entire football federation. He's set the standard everyone else is trying to follow now. And now is it is pretty cool though to watch kinda how bills people have done how Andy Reed's people were doing. I mean, it's it's really neat. Because really there's only so many things you can do in full. There's only so many formations you can come up with and so many defenses you can run then it just comes down to good play styles. Make fights right and Walsh that the west coast against the smashmouth run the ball in play defense style of ourselves. And if you look at it that still holds true today. Most of the Andy Reid disciples over there. Bill walsh. They're going to get the ball out. Quick. Quick eater intermediate passing game highly rhythmic west coast offense. Then you look at the Bill Parcells disciple disciples, we're going to run the football player action shots down the field and had this big physical defenses that try to beat you up and want to make this game playing the phone booth. You've heard me say this on this show that if the guys that are really good the great coaches right now, and the guys that are going to continue to be one of those eight teams looking for aid coach on finding the guy. That's the more Steelers. Parting ways with linebackers coach Joey porter lions jam. Bob quinn. Standing by quarterback Matthew Stafford despite a disappointing has campaign, Patrick Mahomes. Three other chiefs have made the AP all pro team. Joined by teammates, Travis Kelsey tyreek hill and Mitchell Schwartz. The first rookie teammate since one thousand nine hundred sixty five mated colts. Gord quitting Nelson and linebacker. Darius Leonard Chicago also at all pros edge rusher. Khalil Mack joined by Kyle fuller. Eddie Jackson and Tarik Cohen and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald the only unanimous choice. JJ watt Leuke cly made it for the
