Mitchell has big slam, 31 points as Cavs beat Nets 115-109

"Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points to lead the Cavaliers over the nets one 15 to one O 9. Mitchell hit 5 three porters and a fourth quarter highlight reel slam dunk in the cas 46 win, but says it could have been better. You know, we don't win by 6 or 8, whatever it is. It's a one point game. I think it's the entire offensive rebounds. They missed a few of the shots. It was much three tonight. They may make something. You know, and that's ultimately what's the separator. So they don't continue to be consistent with what we do. Care is the word added 18 points. While Darius Garland and Edmund mobley scored 17 apiece, they run sharp, led Brooklyn with 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench as the nets dropped their four straight game. "Now they've got to figure out the balance. And it's basically been the Donovan Mitchell show so far. And Darius Garland is young enough and I think also just he's a good guy. Like Darius Garland is that I think rare young star who a guy like Mitchell comes in and says, you know what? You're more established than I am. This is fine. Like if the balance is a little bit tilted toward Donovan Mitchell, I don't think Garland minds. And somebody has to, you know, they both have to sacrifice a little, but like somebody has to be the one to say, you know what? It's okay if I'm not the one with the ball in my hands and all the critical times or getting the big shots or whatever. But it's something that you keep an eye on because that's just the natural thing in basketball, right? You do have to find the balance in the chemistry. And it's been simplified early because of Darius Garland being out so much. But there are small backcourt, defensively, it was fair to wonder if they'd be a little challenged on the flip side of it, even if there can't hold their own defensively. They've got maybe the best four or 5 defensive combination in the league in Evan mobley and Jared Allen behind them. That said, I was in Cleveland very briefly during the preseason with SiriusXM and be a radio to do the camp day, right? And I asked both Garland and Mitchell. Like, listen, you don't have a defensive rep as a guard. That's not been your calling card. Can you count on this amazing backline to make you guys elite defensively or does this call for something different if you guys really want to make that next step? And of course, both of them said, listen, no, they acknowledged it. And Donovan Mitchell do his credit. He acknowledged, and he's like the advanced stats are not kind to dotto Mitchell's Utah years. Like not even average defensively and not even like a net negative defensively, but like among the worst in his position defensively. And he said, look, I know I've got to work at that end. And I think both of them kind of felt like there's an obligation to not just send everything back to Jared Allen and have them overly. I think so far we've seen the results of that. You just mentioned it. Donovan Mitchell's actually working defensively and credit to him again. Guys can still evolve over the course of their careers. We got to give them the room to do that. Yeah, I agree. Big news, Paris Hilton fans.

"Everybody go back to your sad lives. Okay, man. I love Booker though, and he has gotten better every year and he fights on defense. I really admire what he's built out in Phoenix. So I want good things for him, but I just feel like this is gonna be kind of a rough year out there. I'm gonna drop my number 17 to only 'cause it's a duo we already talked about and that's Jimmy and bam and I'm just I'm all in on Jimmy after his last playoff run. I thought he was masterful and I think he's shown that he can be that guy in a playoff series. Like if you switched Jimmy and Tatum, I think the Celtics stolen that series. Yeah, wait, wait, wait. You think the Celtics win, okay, sorry. I understand what you're saying now. Yeah, they definitely win. And they probably win the title. Yeah, so I just think that Jimmy can be the best player on a championship team. And I think bam, another guy who's gotten better every year of his career. I think he's suddenly what, 25, I think he still has another leap to make and I think that offensive leap that everyone is looking for is coming this year. So that's my number 7. Can you give me your number 7 sharp? I will give you my number 7 in a moment. I will just say that I pulled up bam's game log. He did alternate double digits and single digits throughout the Eastern Conference Finals and the games where he was single digits. He took like 5 shots, 6 shots. The other thing to remember about game 7 is how unbelievable that Celtics collapse would have been. I would have biggest choice. I would have texted Pino about it literally every single day for the rest of my life. I was like, is this really happening? Like this can't be real. It would have been the craziest thing I've ever seen in sports. That would have been better than any of the heats three championships. That would have been more satisfied. So close. So close. Dude, Jimmy took that shot. I don't even know how there was no scale or instrument in the universe that could have measured my anxiety or heart rate. Jimmy pulled up for that shot. Yeah, well, I was worried 'cause it was like Jimmy had been having an out of body experience for most of that series. And once he pulled up, I was like, ah, I don't know if he's got this in the bag, but I respect the audacity for Jimmy Butler, perfectly on brand. My number 7 is Darius Garland and Evan mobley out there. In Cleveland. Wow. Ahead of Jimmy and bam ahead of Katie and Kyrie. Where's the thing? Here is the thing. This is not like, oh, fun young players. I just think Darius Garland is an all star caliber guard right now. He's a great distributor. He's a great shooter. He can play on or off the ball and put pressure on the defense. And I think Evan mobley is gonna come out and just terrorize people. Defensively offensively as a distributor as a wing defender for the Cavs, he's gonna be all over the place. And so if anything 7 might be too low for these two guys, I've been very high on Garland and mobley. Their entire career and I think this is the year it starts to get pretty real out there. Wow, that's a, that's a good pick. They weren't even in my honorable mentions. Which is tough because I mean, I was thinking about Mitchell too. I think the Cavs are gonna be really good.

What do you got, house? It's the freak for me. I mean, we said it during the when we were talking about Milwaukee. I think they're motivated. I don't think that they want to mess around and end up in the same position they were in last year. They played Boston in the semifinals. That was a mistake, right? I think that they don't want to have a repeat of potentially finding themselves against a team in the semifinals that they don't have a distinct advantage over. I mean, I know the injury thing with Middleton affected it, but I like the freak. I like Milwaukee. I think they're going for it. Darius Garland two 41 marcella? I know some of them are really Ben Simmons two 42. What about Kyrie? Kyrie, good payout. Good payout. Was it 40 to 100 to one? It's a 101? Yeah. Because it's just assuming even if she was amazing this year and no one would want to vote for him. I was trying to talk myself into one of these high end odds guys and it's just the only one is Davis, which I've never do. 46 to one for Davis. Yeah, but if you guys are doing what you do when you put a little on a bunch of different things, there's going to be worse a couple $100 thrown around on something. That's at least like, is he a top 7 talent? I'm not talking about Kenny stay on the floor. All that stuff is just like, talent wise is he an MVP potentially. I don't think he will win the MVP. But the 46 to one just seems really high to me. Like, why is he 46 to one, but like, I don't know, Zion's 25 to one. Yeah, that's too high. "A game. I think to calves are legit, good team. Like I don't think that I don't think they're record last season was a fluke. I don't think it puts, I don't think it's a case of they're going to fall back in that record as their ceiling to Caesar. That could very well be there were 44 and 38. It wasn't like they lit the world on fire. They were 30 and 19 before some injuries, which we'll talk about struck. But I look at that team, that depth, he's an important depth piece for them, and that team could be a frisky team again, I think. I think you bring up the complication when it comes to Colin Sexton. And so many things with Colin are complicated. And you touched on a lot of them. It's not that the Cavs don't like him, don't want him back. It's just, what is the right price? What's the right salary for somebody who we like who helps us who we need, but also is flawed. And who isn't as important to our future as some of the other guys that we've already locked up or are going to have to lock up in the future. So put it like this. Colin wanted something north of 20 million annually coming into this off season. I was told that he wanted an annual contract that started with a two, not a one. And he sees himself as a starting two guard in the NBA. Well, the Cavs last off season if you remember Zach, early on, right as free agency started, they got a deal done with Jared Allen. And they gave him 20 million annually. Well, the view of Colin Sexton and his importance for this organization is not the same as the view of Jared Allen. So they weren't going to give Colin a Jared Allen kind of contract. That just wasn't going to happen. So it's just like finding what is the right value for that kind of player that you're talking about because they saw at the end of last season end of the regular season and in the play in tournament. They saw where Colin was missing. They saw where Colin could help. They needed somebody to take pressure off of Darius Garland. I mean, Atlanta was throwing two guys at Darius. In the play in tournament game. So they just needed somebody to go out and get them buckets on pretty good efficiency. And they didn't have that at the end of the season. So they need somebody like that. But the question is, how much money do you give to somebody like that? And I also think they were right and saw it early that this was going to be Darius Garland's team. Yes. And so Colin Sexton as two guard would really be a proper two guard. He'd be an off ball player next to a traditional number one ball handler. And that would make for a small roster construction, which of course everyone was storing the blazers comparisons at them right when they drafted Darius Garland on the heels of drafting Colin Sexton. And I think the idea of turning Sexton into a really good 6th man and starting levert, which I think right now on paper and look it's July. This could all change people get hurt. Comment section could come in and just rampage through training camp. I think and you tell me if I'm right or wrong, that the plan right now is to start Garland levert and then the triple big lineup that works so well for them last year. Is that right? That is right. And that's a lineup, Zach, that they were waiting months to see. After acquiring Keras levert, they had to wait until the play and tournament game against Atlanta. The last game of the year to actually see that lineup because first levert got hurt coming off the all star. And then, you know, there were other injuries that they were dealing with within that. And Jared Allen got hurt too. So that 5 man lineup that you mentioned there, I think that's the one that they would go with. I think that's the one that they have penciled in. That played 24 minutes against the Atlanta hawk in one in one game. That's one game. One game, 24 minutes against the hawks, small sample size, obviously one matchup against that particular team. But that shredded Atlanta. That had a net rating in those 24 minutes of 17. So I think it gave the Cavs a window into what they were thinking and what they envisioned after acquiring levert because of all of the complications and the second half of the season. They didn't get to see that. I think they're really interested in seeing what that can look like with a full off season together. More chemistry and just more playing time out there on the port. And JB likes the versatility that Keras brings to the table. His size, his versatility, his length, his athleticism. That makes them feel better about their defensive potential as opposed to a starting backcourt of Garland and Sexton, which is going to have obvious limitations. Well, it's a big year for, obviously, they have not been able to come to terms on an extension with him. I'm not sure really how much talk you would know more than I would. Are they even talking anymore? Is that kind of died out? And not a lot, a lot of it is the Colin Sexton domino has to fall first because if Colin is going to play on the qualifying offer, that is going to push the Cavs and Keras to try and ramp up those talks a little bit more. But if Colin signs a multiyear deal, then it's a little bit different of a situation for Keras, that there isn't as much need to get some kind of extension talk going. And by the way, I mentioned before that I wouldn't, I would be surprised if Sexton took the qualifying offer. I don't see that happening. I think is what I said. And the more I

We're starting to get <Speech_Male> little <Speech_Male> trickles of off <Speech_Male> season. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> This is what <Speech_Male> we're <Speech_Male> getting just enough <Speech_Male> to kind of like, <Speech_Male> yeah. <Speech_Male> Let's get into it. <Speech_Male> And they're <Speech_Male> like real things, <Speech_Male> too. But yeah, I <Speech_Male> just, <Speech_Male> I think here, it's just, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> this is just <Speech_Male> like, this is great. <Speech_Male> I love giving <Speech_Male> these little <Speech_Male> little snippets because <Speech_Male> it starts getting your mind <Speech_Male> working and <Speech_Male> at least causes me. <Speech_Male> Let me go look at <Speech_Male> this. And I <SpeakerChange> started looking at <Speech_Male> different stuff and seeing <Speech_Male> how it can work. <Speech_Male> Absolutely. <Speech_Male> Absolutely. It's going to be an <Silence> exciting off season. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Well, I think we can wrap <Speech_Male> things up there. Appreciate <Speech_Male> everybody for <Speech_Male> joining us. <Speech_Male> Thank you guys. <Speech_Male> Make sure you do subscribe <Speech_Male> to the NBA front <Speech_Male> office YouTube channel. <Speech_Male> Don't forget to turn on notifications. <Speech_Male> And over on the <Speech_Male> podcast side, we love <Speech_Male> all the reviews that we're getting <Speech_Male> over on Apple podcasts. <Speech_Male> Thank you guys <Speech_Male> for those. We <Speech_Male> really appreciate <Speech_Male> Eric for coming and hanging <Speech_Male> out with us for <Speech_Male> a <Speech_Male> while and getting <Speech_Male> to learn about a really cool <Speech_Male> experience, especially, <Speech_Male> you know, I <Speech_Male> did see a couple of people <Speech_Male> like this was really cool <Speech_Male> to learn about that. I <Speech_Male> actually had two different <Speech_Male> people shoot me <Speech_Male> an email <Speech_Male> and say, hey, <Speech_Male> that was really neat. I had <Speech_Male> always wondered about him wanted <Speech_Male> to know more information. <Speech_Male> So thank you guys for having <Speech_Male> Eric. "This is, this is not the idea. I don't think this is the way it's going to go. I think LeBron's going to sign a one plus one. I think he's going to attack on another year. I think he's going to leave in 2024 and go wherever brawny gets drafted. I think that's what's going to happen here. That's what most of the signs are pointing towards. I don't think the doomsday scenario is what's going to happen. But I think the Lakers have to be prepared for that just in case because if they're not, if they're not prepared for it, that's what could really, really hurt them. And be devastating long term. I think that this is going to sound messed up and follow me here. The Lake has got to have one foot in one foot out the door on the LeBron thing. They need to have that foot in on Twitter. Okay, cool. LeBron still trying to build around throughout our but you got to have that foot out to a certain extent so like you said, the a LeBron quote unquote burns you or whatever, you're not completely screwed. 'cause you don't have a draft pick either. Like for example, going back to the calves when LeBron left. Miami is a little different because they have a great coach. I have a great organization, so they're rebuilding a year was nearly as bad and they really really bad for like a year and then the next couple they were at least competitive after post LeBron now they're really, really good. Obviously. But Cleveland. LeBron left, they were screwed. And I think they were going all down LeBron, right? The second time around when he left the roster was really, really bad LeBron just will them to a title, right? But in those two years, they got Darius Garland, got a lease of building block going forward, but still like they were really, really bad for the next couple seasons. Not the best runoff is or whatever. So you got to have at least one foot, at least halfway out the door. So that, okay, cool. We're at least prepared to a certain extent if LeBron says, nah, this is my last year. As a Laker. So just have, like you said, just have some sort of awareness and be prepared in case. I also agree though, like you said, I don't think it's going to happen. I think I agree with you that he's more than likely probably going to go with a one plus one and then wherever brawny lands he'll go there and opt out. That's the more likely scenario, but just to be prepared because you don't want to be stuck in the cast situation, but worse actually, because we don't have your draft pick more than likely able to Brown left because you're probably not looking to good in 2024 and the palace, like I mentioned, they will probably want that pick..

"All right, I want to move on for a second. And I want to talk about Cleveland. And the belief I'm starting to have that maybe the calves could come out of the east. I don't know. Maybe that's a little bit extreme at this point, but they go out and they sign carriers levert, are they trade for caris levert from Indiana? They give up only the contracted Ricky Rubio was up with the season with an ACL injury. They give up a first round pick, which I would argue Karis levert is better than whatever mid level first round pick that Cavaliers were going to have there. Ryan, I love that deal for Cleveland. We'll see how he fits on the court, but Karis levert's always been kind of a team guy and I'm a fan of that deal and that just makes the Cavaliers that much stronger. When you look at that starting lineup, or whatever the 6, 7 man rotation, you stack it up with most teams in the Eastern Conference. They're right there. So maybe they're too inexperienced to win at the highest level, but talent wise, they're right up there. The Cleveland's done a great job. Kobe Altman and JB bickerstaff and their group in the front office and on the sideline they've done a phenomenal job and guys that was actually on air support of my gig with Odyssey earlier today in Cleveland and we were marveling at how quickly they have turned things. I mean keep in mind, this team was 22 and 50 last year in the 72 game season. They picked toward the top of the lottery. They got a guy who I think is going to be a superstar in Evan mobley. In fact, I'm predicting that mobile is going to win multiple defensive player of the year awards. That's how disruptive I think he will be on the defensive end, especially as his body fills out. He needs to add strength in develop a little bit, but he's going to be a monster. I think on both ends, especially defensively, Darius Garland has taken a big step this year. He made the all star team. He's one of the more skilled guards in the league and he's smart. He can dribble. He can pass. He can shoot. So really, I think the weakness if they had one, was on the wing..

"Or 6th. They'll have some ammo to move around. The problem for them is this, as you get deeper into the first round, this year's class seems like it'll be weaker. We'll see how that changes before June. But those picks in 2022 don't necessarily have the same value as some of the deeper drafts that we've seen in recent years. But with levert, I don't think there's people lined up around the corner for him. He's been a notoriously inefficient score for years now. His most efficient season of his career or maybe best was his rookie year. So for him, I think with levert, he's a volume score, and there's some value there for Cleveland, but it's no guarantee to be a plus result for the Cavaliers on the site either because of his scoring inefficiencies. Yeah, except for he does do what they need, which is drive to the basket. Draw people. That's exactly what Cleveland needs, which they're missing right now. Cleveland's so fun. I'm really excited. I mean, really, I think they're really fun team and I like Derek. I mean, everyone loves Darius Garland. It's too bad Sexton is gone. They're such an interesting team. So I think Indiana, the one thing you can never discount with them, old school owners, they're watching their luxury tax line. They want to get way under. They want all sorts of cap space. I hope they don't. Well, actually, I do hope they trade sabonis. I'd like him to see him go somewhere where he could be a little more relevant in the league because I just, well, I know you like him too, Bill. I just love watching him play. And you know, we always thought they would trade miles Turner before sabonis. He looks like they might even trade both, if this really is the fire sale that we keep hearing it might be. Yeah, and Turner's hurt. So that's the problem with Turner. That killed everything. That killed their plan, you know? I think he already would have been traded. So KFC, I wanted the cabs to get Gordon. I thought he made more sense with the team they have. I also think he's playing well. And I think that would have been a fair price for Gordon if they'd done that. I guess the case with levert is he's 27. And he's bounced around a little. He's been in different types of situations. And, you know, if you're looking at and you're like, all right, this is our team now. You know, where we have mobile and Allen, if Kevin Love and marketing, you've Garland, you have levert, you have a koro. You've Osman. And Sexton when he comes back comes back. Yeah. And then you have some picks that you accumulated too. To me, this was a move. I'm guessing I have been reading the stories yet that they really thought about this for 5, 6 weeks, and they were like, this is actually the guy we want to add. Southerner contract this year next year. And if he does well, we can extend him. But I think for just watching them, I thought Gordon would have made adding him in a playoff series. I trust him more than burn. I think levert's kind of a ball stopper. I'm not positive about him with the flow that this team has. So I guess we'll find out. You seem like you're down on it. I mean, he's definitely leans towards scoring. I don't know if I'd go full ball stopper. He can pass a little bit. And maybe it's surrounded by the talent they have in Cleveland. He leans into that even more. But he's not like a orchestrator or conductor of the offense by any means, which is why like Jackie said he brings what they need in the sense that they need downhill, a guy who can attack the basket and that can complement the perimeter oriented game of Darius Garland and give them you can shuffle different pieces with Jared Allen or Evan mobley. There's so many different pick and roll combinations that they can play with. And that can be effective together. So I like it for Cleveland. I don't love it. Similar to like you said, Bill, because of just the natural Eric Gordon fit, what he would have been there, but he's also 6 years older. And he doesn't fit the timeline of what that core is. So this is clearly a trade for Cleveland that's about more than just this season. It's about the future and growing levert into something that they want him to be that fits everything else. Well, in that Kevin Love rejuvenation season, Jackie. Who would have thought he was like way back in the freezer? He was covered with ice cubes and seaweed, and you're like, what is that? Is that a pizza? Right. Pull in your pool and it's Kevin Love. Hey. He's delicious. I forgot. Well, you forget how good he is. You know, seriously. You forget how good he is. Again, it's all about fit. You said that earlier, Kevin. And I would say 95% of all NBA players, it's all about fit. And your mental attitude. And his attitude sucked. He deserved to get criticized. I think he knows that. You know? Yeah. He was, you know, he was like, man, I'm a champion. I don't need this crap, you know? And so now all of a sudden, they're kind of fun to be around. And he helps them. He does. He had a nice little I mean, he's really been good. Well, you know what's been great. And I've thought this forever. I mean, I just feel like I know he won a title in Cleveland. He'd probably do that over again, but just the worst possible team for him to go to for what his skills were. I just love when he's around the basket. Right. And when you're just putting him in the corner and you're putting him 25 feet away, you're taking this guy who his single greatest gift is his instincts around the basket for his offensive rebounds for the ability to grab a defensive rebound and send a pass out and all of these things that if he's just standing in the corner like Jay Crowder, I'm not using those gifts. So it's been nice to see it again this year. Well, and he completely changed his body. You were talking before about changing your body. Think about Minnesota, Kevin Levin, what this Kevin Love looks like. Go back and look at the old photos, you know? He completely remodeled his body, too, because he had to, because he saw what was happening, he was smart enough to realize the games getting away from low post centers. If I want to survive, I got to be able to shoot threes and I got to thrive out here in the perimeter and I got to figure out a way to do it. So he completely underwent a complete change in his body. He's another guy that he's not plant based, but he's close. And he watches every single calorie puts into his body. So he made that. He made that change ahead of most of the other guys. Like, you know, Roy Herbert all of a sudden looked up and he's like, oh, crap. What happened? Wait, I can't play anymore. How come? You know? And but Kevin Love was Kevin Love was sort of planning for it. Hey, Kev since December 1st..

"So I think that they are going to be a very fun, frisky team for the next 7 or 8 years. But I don't necessarily the path to being a title comes over and I'm just yet. I don't want to say something ridiculous like the calves are already a title contender. But it could be like, I think they can win a title. I'm not as I like them. I just want to say, I think this is a good pick by you. Because the calves being competitive, post LeBron, like period. And their fans having already won the title in 2016. Anyone who was alive in Cleveland and saw that, for the rest of your life, you're good. You're not in my opinion. You're not ever going to be super bummed about the team as long as they're putting a competitive product on the floor. They play they're very exciting. Darius Garland is, he might be an all star this season. I think that they should have two all stars. I don't know who they should be. I would probably say Jared Allen and Garland are two all stars this season. The fact that there's still so young is really promising. And mobile is that's the guy that's the franchise player. So I think you're catching lightning in a bottle this season with love with Rubio. Yes. There's just certain things on that team that are just excellent. Marketing, I don't want to be yeah, and I don't want to be, you know, I think I want to be mean saying this, but not having Collin Sexton is really good for this team. And his situation is really sad and I wish that I hope he gets recovered. He needs to find the right situation for himself, but the pieces are in place for Cleveland right now is what you're saying. Yeah, I think they're great. I just think that I'm not even looking at obviously like love and Rubio 5 years from now. I just think that as long as they have mobile and Allen and Garland, they're going to be really competitive. And I'm not saying they'll never win a title. It's just hard to for me to bet that they will. Because it's hard to bet any teams are going to win its title. It's freaking hard. It's hard. Yes. It's very hard. The only one with LeBron. That just shows how hard it is to do it. Yeah, but also went to the finals. Every single year. And the only reason they lost was because the other team was unfairly built. Okay. So my team is oh wait, can I say one more thing actually? Of course you can. So I wanted to just hop back to the 2010s for one quick reason. Sure. Can you make an exception for specifically the Derozan and Lowry raptors? Now obviously Toronto won a title yeah, but there's something to be said about how they won that title. And this isn't to say that they don't deserve it or somehow lesser of a title. And their fans were obviously thrilled and right to be thrilled. But it hits a little different when you trade for Kawai into any green as opposed to if they had won it with Jerusalem Lowry. You know what I mean? Yeah. So I guess honorable mention even they obviously ended up winning a title and obviously all their fans were thrilled. But the Derozan Lowry raptors I think would have sewn up that award..

"Not necessarily to me who had him at 27 to start the season, but I think that people would consider him underwhelming. And then the potential for guys like tyrese hunter, Tara and Armstrong, X, Y, and Z right. Yeah. Too deep at this point. Yeah. So. I think the answer is probably fat. Thinking back on this. Just for it is here and now too, because 2019 all right, it's John morant. Kobe white. If you're not a huge Kobe white fan, you're not a believer in derisk Garland. Maybe. It's not even close, I don't think. It's so far ahead of these guys. Like Darius Garland and Jade and I here, like pretty close, I think. In terms of prospects. And then you throw fucking job around on there. There's no chance. I mean, do we think Jade and IV and D'angelo Russell are like pretty close, like I D'angelo Russell at I think four or 5 that year and he went number two. Yeah, it's hard because again I'm not trying to change the past, but I think those more of his game has changed some since the NBA. I think the new stuff is different. Slowed him down quite a bit. And then like you still have moody a and then like the big group below. So it's basically like moody versus all of these other guys. And like all of these, too, because he was potentially going to be a thing. Like people were surprised he slid down to where he was. Yeah, I really, really liked him. I missed I missed on him. I would say fact to this question, but it's a really good question. And I think it's close. The problem is that I'm just I think that there are some people who would answer fiction to this question. Because I think that there was more steam behind moody a than there is behind high tie right now. Maybe if we include Dyson Daniels, it might be fiction, I don't know, like I don't know if Dyson's gonna play point at the NBA level. I think he's probably more of like a two. Yeah, this is like the most like equivocating like hemming and hawing answer in the history of game theory podcast more. "There's still the the Big Splash that they keep dreaming about the right has not happened yet. Yeah, that's the big thing is, it's not happening. They got a little bit better, definitely. But again, the question is going to be was last year for real or, or you know what, people got to remember his last year was such a sneak season that you can't count on duplicating that for any team, I must feel like for any team, you know, again these guys were, were being tested twice every day. They had to come in, a lot of them had to drive into the arena, you know, if it wasn't a game day or practice, they just to get tested or they, you know, people come to their house, whatever early in the morning. So I just don't know. Like the Knicks are you completely body and that the Knicks are going to be able to duplicate and improve on what they did. Last year. After they also we have to mention, we get matched at the birth. That they did a different 48 as well. So that's that's where they, they look like they got a lot better. But when you tie up almost twenty million dollars a year for 48, it's cheating. He said he came out and said he, what? He thought he was very interested in staying in Boston. He claims at the outset of the the process, but that they were not spring, and there was no way they were paying that. That's not part of their big plan, which will wage, but now the next are, you know, I think incrementally will help and but, you know, they're not, they have involved themselves into contention them, put it that way, no way next week. We'll maybe, we'll both do some homework of our power rankings. Yeah. After everything shakes out just like any other interesting. Well wage The affected people in Cleveland thought that Ricky Rubio, they were getting a scoring machine. You know, listening may be played with Sensational sa. Yeah. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. And that's the difference when you're playing for your country as as opposed to a lot of these guys playing in the NBA. Their roles are completely different. Yeah. Well, and sometimes it to the betterment and sometimes it is. The pressure that was on. I heard it was pressure on Rick Fox went and Canada and it was way too much that he when he, when he was there raining guy, believe it or not a point, but I was very active in the international scene back with, you know, in the 2000s with the world championships and Olympics. And and I mean I saw you know some guys who rise up and he it crushed him with Ricky Rubio, my God the game we played and also anyone have a more mournful face than Ricky Rubio. My God, he he look like he's going to cry every second. He was on the court wage. I feel like that I'll tell you what, I just flashing back, I could not get over watching it thinking about when we first discovered him, he was seventeen years old when he was off of the national team. And I remember I was there and I remember thinking how incredibly poised and mature as a player he was and and not remotely faced by being in that company, that International competition at 8:17 a.m. anyway. And, you know, so he's he's getting paid too. So you know, that's nice. Yeah. He's got one more year and Cleveland took him on the kind of probably a little bit too.
