All right, call back in when you know you got a little bit more time and you want to crawl a little bit more about your dolphins, Darius, okay? Absolutely. I'll call you when we look at 5. I'll let you know how great we are. Well, yeah, that'll be if I'm not mistaken, you'll be a third of the way to 17. So that'll be great. Thank you very much. Any time Derek sherbert. Except for brockman, that's crazy. The giant. Talking play all up so what? Oh, yeah. What do you think? Are we talking playoffs or what? For the Giants? Absolutely not. But just make them make it entertaining. When games that you shouldn't, play the right way. I mean, he's playing with nothing with nothing available. So it's great. Well, I mean, they get excited. They've won two games, as you know, that they would have folded like the proverbial cheap suit in previous years. In week one, in week one, the Titans are up by two scores on them. They certainly wouldn't come back and they certainly wouldn't have the two point conversion go their way, and they certainly if they did wouldn't have the opponent set themselves up for the game winning field goal and miss it. And then in week two, going up on Baker Mayfield and him going up on them, they wouldn't have tied the score and then gone on and won it. It's amazing. It's amazing. It is an amazing, it's reinvigorated. And say what you want. Has reinvigorated the fan base to where we could deal with losses due to lack of talent, right? We could deal with that. We just it's awesome. It's amazing what's going on with my teams right now. The mets, they can't catch a break, they're playing 6 20 baseball and they can't get a better lead on the braves. And I have two of the best, I feel like I've had two of the best guys running our teams that we've had very, very long time. Hey man, the braves were probably returned to favor scene. They can't catch a break or they get too many breaks from Ozzie albies. He comes back and then he breaks his finger. He's out for the rest of the regular season. We'll see what happens. But congrats on the Giants and the mets doing well, brother. And then it's fun to watch. And I didn't get the baseball package, which I couldn't do it. And this is great. "They in the playoffs, they really, really, you know what I mean? It's like these sets of testament to where to lead was and where it is now because we were saying like they're a group of young guys. Only do them between them and us is that the whole league is like them now. We were one of a kind at our time that we were only teaming at 5, 6, 7, 19, 20. He was the youngest team ever. We were the youngest team ever. So it was like, you know, you look at them now, they're in a league where it's still some, you know, you got some guys with some veteran in them and some older guys but like for the most part, the league is 24, 25 and under, you know what I'm saying? Across the board, it's a lot of guys under that a, so it's like, they're able to kind of get in there and do what they're doing. And I think they like us. I think they got more years than those. They kind of stuck together and they sticking together. So yeah, I've definitely think they like, I think we would have gotten to the point of winning like that. They ain't running from nothing. Like, you know, you watch this, how we can't say we was winning every game or beating every team, but nobody wasn't scared over here, you know what I'm saying? Whatever. First of all, I love the grizzlies as being the team that's kind of the team in the back of my mind I had because like, yeah, they're young and brash and creative and they just enjoy themselves out there. There's kind of an innocence and just this boundless enthusiasm and you're right, they don't back down from anybody as we saw both good and bad over the last couple of games against the warriors. We'll get back to that in a second. But it didn't last long for you guys. It was funny guys, as I was preparing for this and just looking at your basketball reference pages and everything, I think about your clipper teams as like this era there was this moment where the clippers broke through I think really for the first time and we have had many starts and stops for that franchise since your time, right? It's always seems like they're on the verge of something that it collapses, but with you guys, I remember you guys like jumping on the scores table at one point, I think late that maybe it was the first season. And that was that was a 39 win season, I think, right? And that was like still losing year, but you guys were so close to the playoffs and you'd captured the imagination of clipper fans of LA fans who were not Laker fans of NBA fans. You'd become this kind of phenomenon. And so it was, it was this moment and it really only lasted two years if you count it from the day that Darius has drafted to the day that you're traded two seasons later. It's amazing to me all this years later to think that that was only a two year run. It feels weightier than that. It definitely do, like a lot of people don't really know that. I definitely know 'cause I got traded and I want to get straight. So I definitely remember, but a lot of people remember that because we was all the way at the bottom. When we got to that team, they won 17 games out of 82. We started all the way to the bottom to just get a spark. You didn't see a clip of Jersey nowhere. The whole 90s, some of the 80s, you only see nobody wearing a clip of Jersey. And now when we got there, you started seeing the clip of Jersey and all the videos, people were in the clip of Jersey on all these shows. And all this stuff and, you know, it seemed like it was a lot 'cause it started from nothing to something, but where it's grown to now is just amazing to see. The thing that's crazy how you say like, it was two years. So you got a thing about like even for me, like me and didn't talk about it, being there. During that time and being there for those two years, like, we've gone back and been celebrated as part of that as the faces of that era. And while we were in that, you'd never could have told us sitting there at this ain't Elton Brandon Lamar Odom James. You know what I'm saying? So for us to come back and hindsight and this 2000 what was it? 6, 17, 6 to 8. It was 18. 2018 season, we go there to the stable center and they, you know, they showing the different eras and when they get to that they show they showing this and me and him. More than anything. And they got us there for what I'm like, we was raised in that task, so you know, that's crazy. You know, like out of everything, like that's the part that they grab hold out of that area and they that's the images, us doing the knucklehead. So especially for, especially for me, the Q player four years, but I only played two. And if anybody see me or know me or if they remember someone or they were like, man, I know you from somewhere. They instantly call out clipper before any other team. I play for. And I done played for other teams longer than that. That's why guys, I don't know that there's another version of this, right? There are other teams that have been fun for a short period of time. I mean, I think of even like, there's no Sacramento Kings teams, but they had a longer run than that. And they also, of course, went to the Conference Finals, like your team for a team that, you know, did not make the playoffs. Did not produce multiple Hall of Famers or anything like Elton Brandon Lamar Odom obviously both had very successful long careers and were all stars. It's amazing. I can not think off the top of my head of another team that kind of captured the imagination in that way and had such a currency just kind of in the culture, right? You guys made an impression, which is its own point of pride, I would think still all these years later. Yeah, I mean, when you look at that, that's one of the main reasons that we're able to do what we're doing. You know what I'm saying? Because, you know, like being to hear peers of ours, you know, like a Jamal Crawford on our show and he's like, man, like that was the popular dude, doing what they was doing like everybody wanted to play to where they was playing in LA. You know what I'm saying? Like, they knew that we was out there having fun. We were really good friends. We all rocked with each other, so it was a different type of vibe and then to see that go and everybody loved it like they did and then for them to still like, you know what I'm saying? We could be me and D could be going to the airport, flying somewhere to go do something. It could be like, you know, 36, 35 year old dude to come running up like two. Like random guy like, man, like when I was in 7th 8th grader whenever they go to like this was like everybody like you be sitting there looking at how you know this is crazy. Like just a random it could be any like the thing about it is it could be anything. It could be an Asian guy, black guy, Indian guy, white guy could be anything and they just be like, dude, you don't even understand my high school team. This team or whatever teams, they always got a story and it's like, it's crazy to me that it was really that big of a deal. Why do you think it ended so soon? And I assumed the easiest answer is Donald Sterling, but the crazy thing about that is that nobody thought that he would be going first. I thought, yeah, we thought I was the untouchable out of it. He was a unicorn. He's not going to know where out of anybody. Yeah, and that just that kind of threw everybody off. Then when we need a point guard, we need to a point guard 'cause Jeff McGinnis went back and to get Andre Miller like Jason Kidd and Andrea Miller the two when I got to lead them to two goals I wanted to play with because they passed the best of me. You know what I'm saying? So then I get traded for him. It's like, ah. I'll trade me away. But I got it, I want to play with. So I understand the move. I understand it, but back then, a lot of people, you know, they won clippers.

"They are the co hosts of the knuckleheads podcast Quentin Richardson and Darius miles. The fellas just celebrated their 100th episode as podcasters. They had Vince Carter on for the occasion. Their show is always excellent. They get incredible guests. Everyone from Shaq and doctor J to Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Derek Jeter, Sue bird, if you are not already subscribed to the knuckleheads podcast, I encourage you to go do so. You can find it on all the usual platforms. We had a great time reminiscing about their start in the NBA with those early 2000s clippers, a super talented and young squad that was so much bigger culturally than competitively. That era was really only two years if you count the time that Darius miles was there before he was traded. So his two seasons didn't have a winning record, didn't make the playoffs, but they were young and brash, and fun as hell, Dan Lamar Odom, and Elton brand, Corey McGee, and of course our guys Quentin Richardson and Darius miles. And they just kind of captured the imagination. There was there was a moment. There was a clippers moment. It was fleeting, but it was there and it was really fun. It was really enjoyable to go back down memory lane about all that. That is also, of course, the team that spawned the iconic two fist taps to the head celebration that you've seen Q and Darius do or if you weren't there, go find it on YouTube. There's plenty of footage. That's of course how these guys came to name their show, the knuckleheads podcast, where did that gesture come from? What does it mean? It was a mystery for a very long time. They will explain. We also hit on a bunch of other topics, including Dylan Brooks, flagrant foul of Gary Payton the second the other night was the play dirty just reckless, both Q and Darius had a very strong opinion on the matter. Before we get to all that, a quick reminder, please rate review, subscribe to the crossover wherever you get your podcasts and hit me with all your feedback on Twitter at Howard Beck. Okay, my.

"But yesterday, Paul, I know you were joking when you asked Joe from red day. Oh, you've never been to prison, right? The look on your face when he went into that explanation, you look like you wanted to crawl into a hole in cover yourself up with dirt. Well, yeah. So legend had just talked about being in prison and I knew that. I know legend pretty well. And I just sometimes talk show hosts can talk too much. And I just casually said to as a transition from a bridge from legend to Joe, I said, Joe, I'm assuming that you've never been in prison. And then he dropped the bomb on us that he had for involuntary manslaughter or murder or whatever. And yeah, I mean, you've been there. It's the quintessential in court. The lawyer asked a question just as a throwaway and gets the ball just cracked right back into his into his teeth. Don't ever ask the question, you don't want to hear the answer to. And of course, you had no idea. I had no idea. Come back in. And you probably thought when he said he was in prison, it was probably for maybe, I don't know. Stealing something from a 7 11. But I had to guess if you say, okay, what would Joe from red bay have been in prison about? I suspect he walked into a bar in red bay and told the bartender to turn the auburn game off or something silly like that. Well, maybe that's what precipitated the murder. The guy was watching. But when I say to you, and I'm not sitting here promoting this show, there are enough people that we hire to do that. But let me ask you seriously, what are the odds, maybe Danny Sheridan can answer this question? What are the odds of back to back callers on this show, both being in prison for some form of murder, both being from Alabama and both being Alabama fans? Well, until yesterday, I would have said a million to one, but today I'd probably say ten to one. The truth of the matter is the odds are probably not as long as you originally thought they were. Hey, thanks, argue we're up against the break. What are the half hour this has been, we had Darius Rucker on a minute ago, Shane beamer. Joining us.

"Stopped talking about you. So I feel like I'm living with you sometimes. There you go, I love it. I love it. I love it. I love you Paul Seth every day. Well, that's sad for you, I guess. But good for us. Darius, I remember when we were together a couple years ago in Colombia, I think I was your compatriots from the blowfish. Hootie and the blowfish. We were talking about being a South Carolina fan. And I know it's easy to joke about, but now that it seems like things have cleared up, how different is it? Seeing your team go out there and beat North Carolina beats Florida when important games, it really was different. You know, we had years where we just didn't expect to win those games and didn't expect to be in a ball game. And coach Bieber he's a game crack, you know? He didn't go there, but he's been one of them. Then they are doing what he's doing. I'm going to lose you. I didn't. Here we are. It's great to have him there doing what he's doing and win a football game. I can't wait to see where he's going to go with us. For me, that's what it is. And he's recruiting well, and getting rattler of course is a big deal, but I wonder when he got hired because a lot of game former players were behind him. And then I was on campus this fall for one of the early games and I felt it and I go and this guy really does have the fan base energize. This isn't just a height video. And I know he's coming up here in a few minutes. So we're obviously buttering you up so we can bettering him up so we can play some play some of this back. But what is there, what do you think there is about him? This connectivity, which you know is so important in your industry. For us, you know, being a game clock is important in a game called fans. We love it. We're proud of our school and we're proud of being a part of school and because Bieber seems to really want to be there. He wants to beat. It's like, you know, coach staley, you know, what she does done there. She wants to be there. She wants to win this. She wants to develop her dynasty of South Carolina. I'm sure she could have gone over junior or any other school and done what she's doing, but she wanted to do it in South Carolina. It seems like coach beamers that guy, you know, you know, we're not really afraid of him winning ten 11 games in the next the next year going to another school. You know, we really think he wants to try to build something in South Carolina. And we're all behind him because this year he proved that he can. He could recruit and he can also cool him up and so let's go. I would like to ask you before you go about Don staley because there are the number one team in the country. They probably would have won. What, two years ago, during COVID, they weren't. They didn't have the opportunity. They clearly are the best team this year. And I know I've seen you at countless of championships and tournament games. How actively do you follow the women's team? Like they were the basketball team. I think I've already been a two games this year already. Yeah, they were busy TV and you know when you look at their attendance, you know, I think I saw the other day in a row, leading the country in attendance is not even close. And you go to those games and I remember going to Caroline games, we were in school, you know, it was 4000 people there. It was huge. And you go there now and it's 14,000 people. And it is awesome to watch that we expect them to win. It's not one of those things where winning is a luxury for us. We expect them to win. And like I said, I watched them like they were the football team. Well, if the football team could live up to their standards, I think we'd have plenty to talk about here. So let's keep helping. Darius, it's so good to see you. I hope to see you again soon and good luck when the record comes out. Not that you need our luck. With your track record. Well, I'll take it. I'll take it. Paul, thank you, man. I love you a big fan of that. It's always an honor to be on your show. It is our pleasure. Darius Rucker joining us here to talk about a number of things. And we will take a break. By the way, JT Daniels is in the transfer portal, according to various reports, we'll follow where he ends up. More of your.

"The pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul Fein bomb show hour three podcast. What an hour this is, we have Darius Rucker coming up and Shane beamer at the bottom of the hour to a proud south carolinian and Darius Rucker joining us. So it's been a while since we've had a chance to visit with him. Darius, how are you doing? What's going on? I'm good, Paul. How you doing, man? I'm doing really good. We are doing great. A lot to talk about. We'll get to some other things that you're involved with in a minute, but we have to hear your recap of the game Cox season. Oh, I'm really happy with what I saw. Really happy with what I saw, you know? Coach beaver finished ahead of schedule and to go and play the ball game the way we did against North Carolina. I'm looking forward to some good things. Recruiting is good. You know, get rattler and stuff like that. Everybody's excited. So I'm pretty happy with the season. Well, I'm glad because I know having been on that campus with you a couple of times. It has been a long walk in the wilderness to say the least. Yes, it is. Yes, it has, but you know, we seem to be coming out of the Woods now, so we'll take it. Let's talk about you for a second because I know you've been busy. I've had friends who have seen you who obviously are huge fans of yours as so many in the audience. So what's been happening for Darius Rucker? I'm a play some shows hand there. You know, I have a good time right in the new record. I'm really excited about finally getting a new record out. It's been almost 5 years. I think there's about a country record out there something like that. So you know that, you got a tour coming up and in the winter I'm gonna tour some clubs about theaters I never got to play with duty and stuff. And so I'm looking forward to all the fun that's going on. And I know it seems like these questions have been coming now for what, 22 months, but I know you've been out there, but how much has COVID stupid question, of course, gotten in the way of what you are, what you like to do. Oh, tons. I mean, it's been a while there, of course, you know, it stopped at all. And now, every day, you know, you're taking a taking COVID test, there seems like every other day to play a show somewhere and it's tough, but I understand, you know, and you know, I understand everything about it, so we just do it and hopefully we'll get it all figured out here soon. Let me ask you about your record. When is it when will it hit? I think in spring, you know, I slow down a little bit with the year started and now I'm getting really, really kicked back in and starting to write a bunch of songs myself and with some friends and so you know I hope to be done with it here early in early February, maybe middle of February, then put it out in the spring. When you do this and you mentioned you haven't done it in a while. I'm a sports talk show host, so forgive me for not understanding writing songs. But how do you attack it? Is there a concept or you start trying to marry songs to each other? What is the routine for putting a record out? Once you got the songs, that's the hard part is getting the songs. And again, I always write a bunch of songs with my buddies and Nashville and usually have 50 or so for every song you want to go to put 13 on the record. So once you get the songs it's just you know you sit around and listen because I still like to put out those albums I want you to listen to from front to back, you know, I don't really have a big single guy. So you know, I put in the order that I think it's telling the story I want to tell with the record and it still means a lot to me. Talking to Darius Rucker here, record coming out shortly. Dairy, I want to mention one other thing before we get back to football. I know we mentioned your gamecock fan. You're also a dolphins fan. So the season wasn't as bad as it has been in recent years. But I can't I'm just really with it right. But it's the truth. I know you've teamed up with the NFL for a collection by fanatics. Tell us about this apparel line. Oh, yeah, I'll be Seattle entertainment came to me a few up about a year ago and asked me if I was interested in having a fashion line with the NFL and of course I was. I'm such a huge NFL fan. And it means so much to me and it's always so important in my life that I think that I was going to have my logo next to the NFL was unbelievable to me. But you know, we got a bunch of great clothes. It's doing so well. We're so proud of it. You know, we came out kind of late in the fourth quarter, and it was still doing great. It's just a bunch of every team in the NFL and it's fleeces and t-shirts and sweatpants and a whole bunch of stuff that people seem to be liking so that makes me happy. Oh, I bet it does. And I'm sure I know some of your biggest fans and I think I've introduced you one or two in the past and no matter what is going on..

"But you know how I didn't Charlie from your boys, right? If I had from my boys in like Celine Dion or low, you better look more like you listen to like probably probably Darius Rucker from hootie and the blowfish when you win country? Yeah. And it's so funny, I saw him in trouble. A song is Charlotte and walking through the airport. I don't think that many people recognize them and I don't know why I had them on my playlist. You recognize that Darius turned around Elizabeth was calling him. I didn't even say anything and he just couldn't figure out the walking, but I thought that was funny. So he was like, I know, you know why? I know it wasn't that black dude. I know. Yeah. I mean, yeah, that probably is true. The big girls love that. She loves the last shot opportunity. So funny. Every task is so I can wipe my mouth. I just think all of that Savannah. You know, and it is this here. It's the joke Johnson here. Is the Asia here because of COVID has allowed the door to be open for guys who essentially were out of this league and weren't going anyplace. I can't believe right now and as much as I've always talked about in my liking that cylinder, I remember I think he was a guy who wanted desperately to be on the team. I would love to have him for the Celtics. But here he went back to China. And I'm sure he has a contract that he can't leave or in the hell of a lot of money. But guys like that, that could help your position. He hope you're taking. You know what? You bring up I'm glad you just brought our cylinder because you know it's an interesting conversation when you think about it that the way things have changed, right? Ten, 15 years ago, maybe the money that's offered in China will definitely the money is offering China's not the same, right? You fast forward now, so now players sort of have to choose, you know, you can make more money in China or you can try to grind it out and try to make an NBA team and some of the players like jerison they chose China. Yeah, I think that soldier waited and then it depends on who you are. If you had a family, the other family support soldier, I think just had a baby and as a family. And so your path is different. If you're a single man and you're by yourself, instead of a married man trying to get back in this league. And I applaud is that. It's a good point for a continual with his dream. And COVID has helped along with the process. I mean, he played well in the world games and did well, but at the end of the day, Isaiah wants to be in the NBA where it can compete. Yeah, definitely. If you're sick, if you're saying it like this, why don't you just, why.

"In your life. Like, immediately, you know. I think that conversation, you know, it was more a matter of the heart blockage. And I think the conversation and all of a sudden, it was like the cars, the houses, the women, under that was irrelevant anymore. It was like, wait a minute now. So you're telling me that if I don't change, I'm going to die, then you start thinking about things a little bit differently. You know, everybody wants to say that they wish they had more time. Well, when somebody tells you that your time is going to be limited. And you know that it's limited because you start feeling it. See, you have that same near death experience when you actually recognize it. And you realize how close you are and see when you realize that culture aren't for me, it was like walking up the hill and realized when I got to the top of the hill, it was like, and I'm realizing that at the time I was being girl as a doctor. So we realized what was happening. So I think at that moment in time, everything else was irrelevant. Because death was there. And I said, anybody that has ever actually want to understand what death is all about? Here's a quick picture of it. Think about what it's like to wake up and now you said 60 minutes, but I'm going to make it even easier. You have no minutes. And now you're looking at the fact that now you're in heaven and you're looking at this yard and God says to you, out there are dreams that never get fulfilled. So now you have one more shot at this, fulfill your dreams. So this is what I say to anybody. Think about that graveyard full of dreams. They never get fulfilled because they never get a chance to, because they were too focused on the wrong thing. Absolutely. Absolutely. And, you know, it'll put things into perspective what's important in your life. You know, I feel so blessed that I get to do what I do, being a voice actor and a narrating these incredible books and bringing how elrod's words to life and all these incredible authors is I personally would do it for free, but don't tell anybody, but you know, when you podcasting, I would do that for free, I really love it. You know, coaching, I would do that for free. And it's just amazing that you really can create your life. You really can design your life, and you get to choose what you want to do. You get to choose how much pain you want to live in your life. If you're doing something that's painful, and yet you're making money, but it's making you freaking measurable. I have some friends that are high powered attorneys make a ton of money and they're like, I just, I'm done. I just don't want to do this anymore. And it's so important that you find your light and find your flow, and find out what you really want to do. I'll come at it from even a different perspective. It's like find out what you do. I like that. And a lot of people are doing what they don't want to do. A lot of people. Oh, my God. So many people. Like, you know, it's interesting about that is look at all the people that used to I'm going to the office. I'm going to the office. You can't get anybody to go to the office anymore. They're like, going to the office. I don't care. And this great resignation? That's right. It's great resignation. Is this where we're headed at? Fundamentally speaking there are more people that have figured out they have a hustle that they want to do. That's more rewarding than doing the 9 to 5. They're those that have become entrepreneurs because unfortunately speaking, they've realized that job making a $100,000 of doing more now making 50, then they were making a hundred. That's been the big thing. Just realizing what you don't want to do and realize why you don't want to do it. Because that's the big thing. I'm doing it for the money. Are you really? Or are you doing it? Because you have become quote unquote systematized to do it. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Darius man. I just want to thank you for being here today. And I really enjoyed this conversation. If you want to reach out, Darius, all you need to do is hit him up at Darius Ross dot com and you can find it all the cool stuff that he is doing and super cool guy and I'm really thankful to have you here today. "So that tells you shouldn't be buying bits and things like commodities buying gibson. Things like miners. I think there's a lot better places to park your money. If not cash relative those news. And here's one that i think you will touch the ten football. It's right in your wheelhouse. Jerry as it comes to humor. I think this is coming to us from youtube. Darius is there a potential shift back to reflation going into q. One twenty twenty two from a potential deflationary scenario in q. three q. four. Twenty twenty one. So he's asking almost. Is there a potential for a whip. Saw fact that's the low probability that currently according to our bottles reflation is a very low probability from bottom-up-perspective throughout the second half of the drought starting in september through first part of next first quarter next year. So i don't. We don't currently see that. The only thing that will catalyze that to me would be more coney in response to delta and lambda that cadillac a row meaningful shutdown of the economy. Malik what we saw last year but a directional shutdown economy that we get reemerged from wants. Vaccinations are get to a certain place. In once case counts and things like that come down. That's all i but glad. I don't think that's going to happen so to answer the question. I don't think reflation. I think people it's a great guy. I appreciate the question. Do you think people just wanna go back to the easy money that they're making from november to may gals easiest money i've ever made in my career as jersey thought. He's a lot of people ever made in their careers. The churches went straight up for pretty much anything that was probation trees down for anything about bad duration risks. Now the game is hard again but this this is why you separate the pros and the joe's is like can you make money when things aren't doing this or things aren't doing that and that's that's sort of the name of the game check thoughts on easy money and the reflationary. Well i think embarrassed. Correct me if i'm wrong. But i think there is the way that you construct your models at forty two macro because you don't just look at growth you look at the rate of change of growth that it almost ensures that there's a cyclicality right like if you have inflation up to five point four percent the only way that it can't be deflationary or disinflationary is if it goes up to six percent which it becomes less and less likely to the steeper. You go so. It's like a roller coaster. The higher you go the more down you have to go right. Yeah totally ain't going back to the principal owner announced. You highlight the number one and number two factors. The vast majority of economies. He's the rate of change growth. And the red changes inflation revalued tell you that the gym signing to tell you that everybody will tell you that who spent time to back testing economies financial markets in a more systematic thought for robust manner. We do here. Forty two macro. Let me just throw this in. And i don't know what the significance is..

"Monday august. Ninth twenty twenty one. I'm mashed bennington joined today by our own jack farley and our guest darius dale from forty to macro. Here's what we're looking at right now. basically dow jones industrial average. Snp everything pretty much flat here on the day off about four points but this hides the volatility that actually occurred during the dam. Sure we'll talk about that more. During the course of the conversation. Jack i understand. You're looking at one asset in particular that would have to be gold ash. This gold had a flash crash late last night as asian markets opened plunging below. Seventeen hundred dollars per ounce that would be the lowest it's been since march but shortly thereafter goal pared losses and. It has closed the day just above seventeen thirty by the way ash not a good day for gold not a good day for black gold either with front month. Wti crude oil declining to percents extending the sell off. We saw friday afternoon and now trades below sixty seven dollars ash. Yes some demand concerns there. I'm sure we'll talk about them. By the way on. Equity markets the s and p five hundred and dow jones industrial average. Both up at all time highs are earlier in the day. Pairing those coming back down to close us slightly in the red today. Senators have reached a compromise on the crypto tax provision in the new infrastructure bill. Here's the good news. The senate has not killed off proof of stake. Validates will not be considered brokers under therefore excluded from tax reporting requirements. I'm sure we'll talk about that in a little bit more detail later in the show but now to darius dale our guest. Oh wait jackie one. More story don't you yes. I do just to give a little color on that the infrastructure. So you talked about the crypto specific in the bill. You just to give broad strokes. Already said things dead on arrival if they don't pass the actual fiscal twenty to thirty two budget resolution which itself is likely to come after. We hit the debt ceiling in early september. We absolutely have to get a continuing resolution. Done by september thirtieth avoid a government shutdown in and obviously is usually a couple months of wiggle room on the debt ceiling soak. But it's interesting that he picked as his favorite simpsons character nelson. I can't first of all. We haven't heard that yet on the show but also it's like the grown up version of nelson. I bet he's encountered ally in his. Yes in his. You know all your files with people like how people treat them the music industry well and i'm sure he's encountered such like gross cartoonish versions of that type of guy that type of bullying that he is internalized it. I mean that's such a great way to look at boys till like laugh at them. The absurdity of them being like 'cause there's so childish about a grownup about a bully who that that's what he described him he was like he's got a good heart but i know he's got a good heart. I would never have described nelson that way but he must have had to and again. I'm probably like speak out of turn. Because i i don't know the inner workings of his brain what he's been through but it seems possible that he's internalized that character in that way as way of survival. It's pure compassion. Yeah it's so funny. You picked up on this interesting. I know but he does any nelson's damage to like that's the thing about the character you can see. Sometimes they'll show like his parents. Never see the verbal. Yeah and yeah. That was a really interesting answer. Let's read a letter. Okay only want to review. This is from andrew shootings worth shootings worth. Yeah we're now kidding. Why don't we just do something about it. I know how are we. Just grab the bull by the horns. Why can't we take a page. Out of darius rucker's playbook have a singular goal in life since he was four years old wannabe musician and he did it against all the odds the odds that we could never comprehend. Comprehend it now. Can you fully. i can understand it. I can't i haven't lived it. But i can imagine what he's gone. I announced to medics. I don't know what the right word is you.
