"Clean deal that the wolves have to make an offer that they have to make. That just says okay. Let's do this for simmons and get going. This isn't damian lillard. this isn't bradley beal. They don't have those kinds of of assets to offer and so they need more as price to come down a little bit. Maybe this will help in. That regard may be won't but they are kind of sitting back in sort of biding their time in wanting to see how ugly this thing gets in how much pressure kind of comes around internally on their maury on the sixers to make a move to where maybe they ended up taking a little less than they want to just like. The wolves took robert covington. Jared bayless dario saric for jimmy butler draft picks back in the day. Yeah the wolves want the sixers to make a trade as bad as the one the wolves made. There's some poetic justice to that. So when simmons the obviously the second than simmons passed up dunk and dished off to matisse table under the roman game seven. We've all been making up simmons and really. We've all been making up. Benjamin straights for longer than that but it became a little bit more urgent at that moment in the first podcast i did. I went through all the usual suspects. And i said you know a team that i think makes a lot of sense for ben. Simmons is minnesota and. I pitched pitched the rights to ricky sanchez. Guys i think. I had spike and mike on i said the annual russell maliki beasley some draft assets. Ben simmons boom. They didn't like that. Trade and subsequently i've seen minnesota people pitch i would say much lesser package in that. I think the most popular iteration has seen as me beasley jaded mcdaniels. Some picks for ben simmons. I don't i just don't see how that works for philadelphia at all unless you're getting like four unprotected. First round picks four unprotected picks lots of the entire draft found and you can get and maybe not even then and i like me beasley and jaded mcdaniels is players is either one a a locked in starter in the nba. Right now maybe maybe not. It depends where your team is. That is that is that realistic. Like what has minnesota when the pedal hits the metal whatever like what are they actually willing to do here. Yeah it's funny. Because you know the league zach and and you know what other gm say around the league about having to share with various front offices. And i think that something that darryl more angers process having common other than their houston roots. Are you hear stories. All the time about other executives picking up the phone and getting offers from them. That aren't necessarily the most realistic. And so i think that the it's been a bit of a spiderman meam kind of thing going back and forth between russ maury earlier. Maury wants can an edwards and all the picks and everything and rosettes wants to give him jake lehman to protect its second round picks and obviously they have to make you think you way cat. No was that a real thing..

"Think they really really maxed out last year. And i have a hard time believing they can put put have the same exact chemistry on this. I didn't really want to spend too much time talking about the senate just because like i think that they're like they're obscene was very key. I mean they added jovial and that was about it. Yeah i think that that signing is helpful. They're going to not have dario saric next season. Most likely which hurts. But maybe jalen smith can step in and be productive and then they're also going to be playing just a lot of confident basketball with a lot of continuity which i value. I think this way. I also think that you will be really good Landry shamet is as a nice addition for them. I don't know if he'll be in the rotation in the playoffs or anything like that but Yeah i just. I just think they're good and they'll there are really good regular season. They know themselves. They know they wanna play. They are vulnerable a little bit. Maybe to chris paul injury and we'll see how that kind of works. Its way out if they're able to to stay above water if slash win that happens But yeah like i i just. I haven't. I didn't give them too much that when i was going through this just because i have a lot of respect for them i think they're really good and We'll see we'll see how they do role on that pretty much. Does it for today's show. Is there anything else that That we missed that you wanted any other points. She wanted to make men. Not really only that. When i was listening to you and chris and then going through all these rosser just got me excited all over again for the nba season to start. I think it's gonna be really interesting season. And i'm just it's weird. How they're still some free agents left on the board at you usually doesn't drag on this late. I'm very quickly. What happens buddy healed josh heart. Larry markkanen who aren't obviously big stars. But i think is who can have an impact depending on where they land so very interesting kind of how the rest of the free agency shapes that was a terrific point but he healed is under contract and not a free agent but On that note we will end today. "We're going to discuss a potential warriors raptors trade. What do you do to ensure we get into that scottie. Pippen the summer of scottie continues had a lot to say on the dan. Patrick show yesterday. We'll get into that and we'll talk about team canada's chances of qualifying for the olympics. But we start pay matisse stabili saw. It's gonna play for team australia. Maybe we'll get to that. Let's get to the game from last night though. The grady clippers stave off elimination. Beat the suns one sixteen one zero two tasks. La lives to fight another day. What do you think net. Why do we doubt these clippers. Is it fun is everybody's just like picking on the clippers. We all doubt that we we all talk about basketball. We'd like to find reasons for a team to make them lose. Essentially before they start playing excuses a injuries out now visas zoo bots was before that game. It was announced. They must be heartbroken over game. To the clipper said screw that. We're not that team from last year. This team wasn't mentally tough enough. They gave up that three one lead last year in the bubble but they said the injuries man. we're going to use that to our advantage. They didn't have a visa. Zubov didn't have a center in the lane but outscored the opponent in the paint fifty eight thirty to twenty six points at thirteen more buckets in the paint than the phoenix suns. We're starting a center. They used their matchups to their advantages. Marcus morris they found him over and over and over against denver booker and the sons were flying giving that up. They dictated that matchup. Tyler saying go at it. He had twenty two points. A series high after scoring single digits in the first four games of the series demarcus cousins against dario saric as a backup center went back to cousins with no zoo bots. He had fifteen a playoff career-high so it is wild because it's been around time not many playoff games under his belt but have really really strange. And then paul george with a playoff career high forty one. He shot seventy five percent and part of that was there's no su- bots in the middle. So he was able to get into the lane and the sun's really couldn't figure that out and they they all banded together. That's the point of this team. I mean they changed their mental makeup from last season. We all them. We all questioned them again. No no starting center. They rebound as a team. They played ball as a team. This is a frigging team and we like to pick on them but they dictated this game from the gecko and the sun's didn't really wanna match up they didn't they didn't want to dictate it themselves so i dunno it's fun. It's fun picking on the clippers. That's just what we do but they absolutely are not the same team and they showed it throat this this whole postseason. So i don't know where this series goes. I mean they. They could definitely win another game. Yeah paul george fantastic their tk scored twenty of his forty one there in the third quarter. Fifteen twenty from the field also thirteen boards. Sec- had some turnovers point guard out. There really have the ball a lot exactly somewhere somewhere ugly. And he was getting killed. I thought jeff. Ganea mark jackson in the first half. They were going here. We're but yeah. Shut them up there in the second half and this i think is his greatest game ever. I really do. the first. Ever clipper with a forty ten five playoff game and a couple weeks ago. You had a game where we were like. Oh is that georgia's best playoff game. I think this is like hands down in an elimination game putting up these numbers and what he did in the second half. What do you think. Paul george was great and as a longtime paul george fan. I just love to see it. But i actually thought the way he played it was pretty smooth and he mentioned it in the post game press conferences. Saying you know marcus. Morris had gone in the first half marcus. Morris scored twenty in the first half. Reggie jackson had twelve in the first quarter. So paul george was kind of able to work himself into the game. Now sometimes with paul george it can feel like he's just drifting out there float through an entire game but clearly about wasn't the case in the third quarter came out on fire twenty points another ten in the fourth quarter and that was what was impressive to me. Was that the clippers. Were ready to play from the jump. Ball monty williams said afterwards we showed up in the first quarter. They played with desperation. There's just somebody out there to answer every single sons. Run marcus morris. Thirteen in the first quarter. Reggie twelve in the first quarter then. It was paul george. Marcus in the second quarter. Paul had eight marquez. Seven p g twenty in the third. Pg ten in the fourth reggie eight in the fourth. There were just always somebody who is ready to say. We see you coming back sons. But not tonight was a gritty win for the clippers which one hundred sixteen points or not necessarily thinking gritty but they played a bunch of small guys out there and they were the bigger battery team. So really great stuff from paul george. I don't know exactly where you put this on the list. It's either one or two with the game. He had earlier in the playoffs this year. But the guy's hitting the glass. He's getting to the rim when he needs to an even in game four when he really struggled from the field i think he went five for twenty right..

"Superstar Devin Booker. He absolutely believes he's the best player in the league. And that's not just him like saying it so he can get attention. It absolutely bothers him. When you know he's not listed in the All NBA or he gets an All Star snub. And for him, winning is a way for him to prove that he's In a different class. He just put up 18 of the third marking DB and they had 16 and row at one point, Paul George, with 33. They go back to you in the valley to the fourth. We're tied at 93 in Game one. Kevin Phoenix Suns Arena is a din right now. As loud as they have turned up the noise for the fourth and final quarter here, Mark Jones alongside Doris Burke, calling it for you. We are deadlocked at 93 Devin Booker takes the inbound pass. Bringing it up court against Patrick Beverley. And you wonder what Devin Booker can do for an encore here in the fourth quarter, they double team him off. The screen goes to heating on the right side of the floor shot clock down to 10. He hands it up. The Tory Craig on the dribble goes to his right drives inside 18 on the hand off for the slam. I'll tell you what Tory Fraga's three for three, is not known as an offensive player. At that time, he was forced to put it on the deck. Shuffle past eight moves, ability to roll to the basket and get to the front of the rim is proving critical to mount top goes to the left wing Toronto who's in the ballgame. More senior Working against the defense going to back down his defender. Tory Greg. He knocked it loose. Got it back and more senior knocks down an eight ft jump shot. We're tied at 95. Poker up court. Book are working against Beverly Beverly, trying to show a little token pressure. They blitz him again off that screen and cousins can't stay out of foul trouble, picks up his third foul after contributing a bunch offensively in the first half. That's going to be the first foul against the Clippers in the quarter. I love the mindset of Devin Booker against the double their mark. He's not going to just stand there and absorb the pressure. He attacked the big and draws the contact the exact mindset. You want to have a lot of people, Doris Being the various skills of Devin Booker. You intimated it a little bit earlier that people might see him as just a scorer shooter, But there's a lot more to him. He's played the point at times in his career. Damn, Johnson gets the ball. Let's apply from deep and Mrs Batum with the rebound underneath. And hands it off Toronto tied at 95 just under way here in the quarter. Let's see if they go into boogie cousins. Tory Craig is checking Rip cousins Gets it on the left wing goes to Marcus Morris senior facing up on Craig. Couple fakes jab Step spins with it backs him down, and that's going to be a foul against Greg. That's going to be the second foul. This is why Craig is on the floor. Marcus Morris, his play in the last series was absolutely critical to their success. So important is his value that they're sending an excellent and, like sized guy, Torry Craig on him. All that attention. A compliments with more senior gets the ball against Craig again on that left wing turnaround jumper, little bit strong, rebounded by Booker comes back the other way with it. Rondo picks him up the mid court line, and Booker brings it over Booker on the right wing. Let's the three wit Oh, it's so cute 32 for Booker, and it's 98 95. Phoenix, Rondo on the dribble, fouled My pain sometimes little bit 15 Booker big time shot A moment ago campaign committed the foul Reggie Jackson coming into the ballgame. Meanwhile, for Patrick Beverley you Rondo was so worried about the screen from Sturridge that he just was retreating against Devin Booker. That's that's a problem. The inbound pass. Rondo gets it back, looking inside the cousins. Sorry, just fronting him. Sarge got hit in the face with a straight elbow. And that's going to be a foul against cousins. As Dario Saric got hit in the face 15. They might even review this one. Tony Brothers signals video review to see if it was a non basketball act as we take another look at it on a monitor it he did get hit in the face, but I'm not sure it was unnatural in terms of movements foul. It's an offensive foul against dozens of possible for you. Okay, so what he did, and this is something you see in the low post. But off as the ball moves, the guy who's posting up will often pivot and in pivoting boogie put a right elbow into the face of sharks..

"Just to further Kevin Winters point. He played 38, 40, 40 and 46 minutes. He is ready to work. Paul George Durable. Here's Pete. It's with the basketball Dario Saric check in working against Suboxone, a whistle and a foul against the Clippers. That's going to be their second team foul. I was going to go against sons Ball site looks like it's going to go against zoo box pizzas. A box one of the numerous players that Tyler plans on using here early in Game one time starter and bound by the sun starts on the wing picks it up, gives it back to Booker Double Team. Cross Court. One more pork great passing half Johnson with the baseline Three Good. Cam Johnson, who just came in a moment ago hits his first field goal attempt. Aggressive switching by the Clippers ball had to reverse sides. It finds the deep opposite corner. Easy. Look at three tied at 21 2 minutes to go in the first quarter. Too bad Rondo checked into the game for the Clippers. He missed the layup back the other way Booker got stripped, and now it's a three on three. Beverly pulls the ball out and gives it to Morris Senior Now Paul George, With it staring down Devin Booker Johnson switches onto him. At the top of the three point circles. George goes through his legs into the paint. Tough pass intended for Zubieta. They control the top Toronto Back to more Senior Corner three. No good and rebounded by Booker Booker will bring it across mid court strike into the front court over the Shar. It's fake the pass Paul George reaches in and steals it away. Here's Rondo. It's a two on two the Clippers out to Paul George. Senior fires away side pocket three short again and rebounded by sharks had a couple of great looks at it. Morris is just two for seven. And you're right. That's too clean looks from corner threes, the best shot in basketball. He can't make either 1921 1 minute to go Now. In the first quarter camp, Johnson picked up his dribble inside the charge charts weaving underneath. Back out to Crowder baseline jumper is no good. Rebounded by more senior with 50 seconds to go. In the first quarter. Here's Rondo. Now Rondo pulls it out comes off the shoebox screen. Probing inside off class. No good with the lay up. He smoked the layup. He was right there and back comes Booker Booker turns on the Jets into the paint. Left hand layup has no good. Good resistance from zoo box, And here goes Paul. George. George picks it out. Now. Beverly thought about the three good clothes out. Bye. Sorry, Paul George with the baseline three pointer that one rims out. Rondo saves it with 14 seconds to go here in the first quarter. Tied at 21. They can running all the way down almost to second difference between the shot and game clock. Paul George within 10 ft. Away, pulls up on the baseline over more no good, and that will do it for the first quarter of play as Booker let's along Hail Mary, Go that falls harmlessly short. Let's Exhale 12 minutes in the books, the Phoenix Suns. Glad to get back in it were tied at 21 after the 1st 12 minutes. This the Western Conference.

"And if you'RE GONNA lose Butler getting Josh. Richardson back on a great deal is great right like that's better than just losing. Butler for nothing and but the problem is all those pieces. Dole fit together and because of injuries they have. They played almost no time together. And so it did not they. Didn't I think the peace just did not work and so the question is what do you do? Now you know what can you you know. Is there something that can be done with either? The HORFORD or Tobias Harris Contracts. It seems very challenging. You know. Do you have assets to that. You can put put with those contracts to move them. That was sort of the problem with Tobias Harris Contract. Dry tears deal was emptied. Our wants very full cabinet of draft picks and so I think they're in a I mean some ways. They're in a tough position. The thing I always have to remind myself as a someone who went through all of those you know. Sub Twenty win seasons and all through the process is the sixers. We're GONNA win fifty games for three seasons in a row and be a legit playoff contender even if the season was frustrated. And the sixers. And so you like it's still. We're still much better than we thought we were before. It's just the frustrating is that we. It seemed like we had everything going for us. I remember you and I talking was right. After the sixers lost that series to the Celtics and and both of our both our teams were in very the Celtics is very different places back then and Kyrie and Horford. Were coming to Cairo. And Gordon Hayward coming back that Amazing Sacramento Kings and Memphis Grizzlies picks. We're going to be there for the Celtics. And the and the sixers had a bunch of picks and we enforce was still potentially something that could turn into something. Good if ninth grade and you know we're in a very very very different world now and the thing I do that I can stop ranting about the sixers. I have thought about where the sixers went wrong is. They tried to hard to win a championship too fast. And we're like you there's a world in which you could have suffered through some more bombs inland than Joel and Covington and kept. Jj around and let those Dario Saric like those. That was a really good young team. You could've you could've added some players to that like some veterans to it but without mortgaging the future for Butler than Tobias Harris. And then Horford right where you could have. You tried to build around the younger team and try to do something more akin to what some other teams that are. More are more willing to have sustainable success. Even if it doesn't produce a championship and I do think mortgaging all those assets at a time. In which you the warriors were still around as we knew them was sort of foolhardy like it's not even clear that getting Butler if we Butler and Harris and you would play the healthy warriors this that's probably not at beat them and so we sit here now and I do wonder what's going to happen if the season does not come back. We'll have some interesting decision to make. I think the Butler decision they made last summer will be one of those. What if that you have to watch? Because you're right. It would have taken a five year deal to get Jimmy Butler to stay. But if he stays in Miami and gives them like four all star Level Seasons. That could just be one of those head. Scratchers these safe. We'd done that. Maybe things would have turned out a little bit differently. But let me ask you before I leave the sixers here. Brett Brown part of the solution or part of the problem. I think I love Brett Brown. I think he is one of the best people in the NBA. I think he what he did over the many years. He's been in Philadelphia in terms of developing players holding a team together when they're when they have no talent just this like roving rotating cycle of G. League players is an end to be around to turn this team into something that is a legitimate finals. Contender over a couple year period is pretty amazing. And I the thing I I think I think. Nba Twitter in NBA. Media is too hard on brown because they blame him for everything and don't ever put it in the context of the like what they hand he's been dealt right like he had five different teams last year. He's got these pieces that he did not pick the don't fit together Joel. Being injured all the time like like he's like the like succeeded. He has played a very difficult hand very very well. I think the question now after this is has in watching this season and I've watched some of if not all of every game this season is has his. There's always a time when coaches time runs out right where they no longer have the influence on the team that they had before sort of you know it's just like they've worked together to log and that may be the case here and I think that's probably best manifested itself in the fact. That Brett Brown has asked Ben Simmons to shoot a couple of threes. A game and Ben. Simmons has not shot a three and a game in denial. When months after after that at without doing it and that to me says that there's a chance he may be has lost the locker room. And if that's the case then I think they have to move on. I just for everyone who's always like fire Brett Brown firebrand. My argument always is who is the Co. Who are you going to hire right? You're not getting like I think. He is in the upper tier of coaches. I don't think he is. You know spoelstra or Carlisle or Popovich or for any of the people. We generally think our Stevens who think of the best coaches in the league. But he's much better than the worst coaches and so who are you getting right? Who is the person who is not obvious that there is a nick? There's not a NICK NURSE ON THAT STAFF. Who's waiting to step in there? Maybe only pierce was still there. We might feel differently but so if he has to go the question will be who you gonNA replace him with. Isn't going to be someone who is enough of an innovative progressive offensive. Mind that you can do something with these somewhat. Ill-fitting pieces to make make the offensive production team more consistent particularly in the fourth quarter. Now I don't I don't think that Brett Brown is i. Don't look at him as an elite gay manager. One of the Better Exit knows coaching. The leading but there has been incredible roster toner over there at some point. You can only succeed with the ingredients that you have and there's not a coach in the league that could take team to a championship. That doesn't have shooting and they don't have shooting so ultimately it comes down comes down to that with with Brett Brown Before I let you go. You're obviously much more plugged into what's going on in the political sphere that most of my listeners are at this point. I know a lot of people. Listening are just hoping and praying that there's some way the NBA can come back and that sports can can ultimately come back. And I'm sure they're confused a lot of them watching on TV. Hearing the president. Say You know I? It was come back at Easter. But then he's backed off that we've got to get things back going again. You know. Wh where do you see the line being? How how does sports come back safely in this country in? Is there any way to determine when that should be? I think there may be a time to determine where games could resume without fans in the audience. I think that is something that could be. Potential possible over. The summer require a massive amount of logistics from the NBA. I've I've heard report. I'm not a huge fan. For reports about the Premier League. This where you would quarantine all the players together for fourteen day period so to ensure that everyone involved was was not carrying the virus. And you could theoretically do that in the NBA. I think are a long way away from anyone thinking. It's a good idea to put eighteen. Thousand Twenty five thousand eighty thousand people in one space together and so. I think we could get sports on TV. I think you can figure it out particularly in basketball where you're talking about. You know. Twenty four twenty six players. You know another dozen or so coaches trainers and staffs and then some referees. There's probably a way to do that. I mean watching these guys play in empty arena without fans would be such a weird situation like they play music the whole time like it just seems so it'll be like all those. Chris brickley videos. I guess but uniforms so but I think you could see that happening but I like I keep thinking about the fall where they think where they think. This could come. This virus could come back in the idea that you know hundred thousand college students are going to go to. The Big House at Michigan just seems impossible for me to imagine just the the legal risk for putting that event on in what could possibly happen from that is. I think we're all I think I'm not sure we will have sports as a in-person viewing experience as we have we as as we commonly understood it until there's a vaccine for the krona virus in weather that could be eight months from now a year from now or longer than that. It seems unduly risky to undo all the work we've done by having people get together. There was this story in the New York Times last week about they call it game zero but it was a soccer game in Italy. Where just letting eighty thousand Italian and Spanish fans all got together and they believe is they've gone back and trace where a lot of the spread of the disease in those countries came from that game because these people were in the same place for a long time so you worry about that happening in the US. And so. I think we could see sports again. And I for my own personal sanity. Hope that it comes back In some way shape or form but in the way in which understood. I think we're always from that. We still we still can't get people to stop congregating the US right now. I mean it's it's wild. You know scrolling through twitter and reading about the church in Florida or Liberty University and all these people. That just don't seem to don't seem to get it that that there has to be a sacrifice everywhere for this to dwelt and really stop you you you experience. Dan. A bunch of things from the inside whether it's the economic crash in nine and The the global pandemic of the Ebola virus. How bad is this compared to everything you've experienced? Where does this how? What kind of context can you give me about? Just how bad this is. This is the worst. This is worse than anything we experienced in two thousand between two thousand eight and two thousand sixteen and they'll want White House and it's not even close. I mean we're going to be like I don't WanNa be overly dark about this but the death toll of Americans is going up exponentially and so the it is likely that by the middle of this week by the middle of this week we will have surpassed the number of dead on nine eleven and if it follows the models people talk about we will be having you know a a nine eleven level of casualties every day for potentially weeks or months on end and the like. There's nothing like I was there for the h one n one flu. I was there for dealing with a bullet in Africa. And you're right. The economic the economic crash of two thousand eight and this is far beyond anything that has happened. I think in American history since World War Two in terms of its impact on day to day American life like the economy has stopped right like there were three three million people who filed for unemployment last week that is four times bigger than the biggest week of people filing for unemployment number since they started recording so like almost one hundred years and so like we. In fact people aren't leaving like there. Yes there are. People aren't doing the right thing but I think the majority of Americans are have been sheltered in place for weeks now and this is a fundamental change American life and the scale of the challenge. The both getting out of it immediately together economic thinker far exceed anything that we ever confronted in the Obama Administration. Yeah hopefully hope for the best I guess and people keep doing the things that are doing to try to flat curve as everybody talks about. Hopefully we can get back to to watching sports at one point and Dan. I can see your twitter feed getting angry at things non-political and more like angry at some sort of pick and roll plan that Brett Brown called out during game six of the playoffs..

"Trading away TJ to clear, some salary and leader making deals to add veterans Dario. Saric. An Erin feigns now, Phoenix also drafted camp Johnson, anti Jerome. So do you feel the sun's draft night strategy was something, nothing or everything focusing on the draft pick? Cam Johnson because this is James Jones, real big. I move this first draft pick and it was like twenty picks higher than Jonathan Cavani for the projected him. And even his own college teammate. Wow, man. Wow, man jokes known basically as a guy who can shoot and shoot. Great. And not do everything else that great, which sounds to me a lot like James Jones. So this is going to everything at this is the hit awesome. If not bad nicknames champ. I love it. I think is everything. James old, former teammate of my like you said the champ. I think and I told you yesterday on the job, I'm I was real high on the guy Cal. I think he's, he's he has a major point and his Lee, and I thought he should have been lottery. You don't find shooters like he's the he's the issue in this drought. And I love the move by a choir. Oh, you socks from a from Minnesota. I think James Jones did a great job last night. And I think is everything shot out to champ, man. That was everything to me. That's right. I'm interested in them. Taking your Baynes who if you look at the Boston so defense of numbers this year when Aaron pains was hurt. Their defensive tempers were not good at when you're in Baynes was on the court. It was a no symbol, like almost crazy different. So I'm curious sort of, we're Boston's going from here and what he might bring to next. Next. The nine full reason he got tied to. So he got their basketball. I will you notice things like they're not the major stats. Live just. Well, thanks big difference. Let's talk about the wizards. They caught everyone off guard by grafting Louis hachi moron, number nine including where we your. Tomorrow the wizard still do not have GM apparently did not meet with or speak to Paci Maura before the draft later, some of the front office guys said we chatted with him like in the crowd at guns. Which is speaking to. But again, ROY says I didn't even know that they knew who I was. And now I've been drafted by them. Is it something nothing? Everything Kendrick inbetween is something in the reason it is some because I'm a fan of this guy..

"Big four at four story. Three. Point guard from North Carolina. Kobe white actually more of a combo guard type pretty good player, but only one year in college. So he fits the mold of just with the son's doing, but what all NBA teams are doing, and that's drifting up. So I think that's what they will do. Yeah. So the sons have the number six pick in the draft. I'm so excited about this ten on. What do you mean? What do you mean? No, no. They got rid of that. Six pick in the draft. So we talked to Vince Murata to fifty well, yeah, the son still had that pig. Antique Jay, Warren, very exciting. Well, then they traded away TJ Warren oh, and their thirty second pick in the draft. And they got some cash from Indiana from the Indiana Pacers. I mentioned that six pick. Yeah. That's gone to. Oh, yeah. They sent that to Minnesota. So we got something really good. Right. Like, really good for that. Because that's a good pick. Right, number six. We got something called Dario Saric and the number eleven pick in the draft. Crickets. I've heard of him. I mean he plays basketball. Lebron james. Be honest here, the eleventh pick. Okay. So we only move five down five spots. Right. We moved down five job. Maybe we could still get on now. Science going to number one. We weren't getting him at six. I love seeing that reaction, big Florida core. Big.

"But they are not especially deep Dangelo. Russell is really the focus of that offense. If you see the Sixers go down again in game two, do you think it's more about focus and effort than it is about game planning? Or are you seeing Brooklyn do something to take advantage of the Sixers weaknesses, Sarah? I think it's a combination of two things number one. I think the nets are bad matchup for the Sixers. They have levels of speed in the back court that give the Sixers problems, I think this was always going to be relatively tough series with a sex years. I think the other issue is is less about effort than it is cut nudie. You look at the other teams around the other elite teams around the NBA, generally speaking, they have continuity in personnel in the Sixers are the furthest thing from that right now with these two big trades. They've made in the during the season to get you me Butler and Tobias Harris and not only that not only do you have the issue of continuity. I would argue that the Sixers aren't as deep as the nets. I mean Sixers have one of the worst benches in the NBA right now, they sacrificed guys like where? Covington and Dario Saric to get a better starting five. You get a better more talented starting five well when you're counting on James Ennis coming back from injury and playing twelve minutes to help your bench. I know everybody's shortens their rotations in the playoffs. But that's an issue. Where is your spark coming from it? If it's not coming from the five starters, you have it ain't coming and all so I think it's a combination of all those things bad matchup lack of continuity and just a lack of death row out. How is this going to play not only Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris future? But more importantly bread Brown's. Yeah. Actually, we've got some sound for you to listen to Mike. This is Stephen Smith from his show today. The seventy Sixers lose this series to the Brooklyn nets Phearun unfair Brown's gonna lose his job because you're going to look at the predictability you're going to look at the lack of a judgement. You're not gonna wanna hear excuses about Joe Olympia. Not it'd be hundred percent you're not gonna wanna hear them telling you right now I worked in Philadelphia for seventeen years Philadelphia Inquirer..

Adding a super talented big man and being five all stars. Are they just going to run away in Hyde? They are going to run away hot. The worst thing that could have happened to the NBA is that the Golden State words where the number one see in the west before boogie retired. Now, the hitting on all cylinders. They're going to ease them back into the game. You see little plays like looney when they know he's not gonna shoot and you'll get us back off or we show to play with Draymond green. When they were giving them exaggerated rule to make a play. Yeah. Demarcus cousins, you have to play that guy is going to be great did or for the Golden State Warriors to Washington play with five all star and tough sledding for anyone who has got to go up against them. Okay. The game we end -ticipant it being the game of the night was the Sixers and Jimmy Butler taking on his former team in Minnesota and second quarter. The Sixers had already opened up a can there up eighteen and there's Jimmy Butler grilling the three in the league is twenty one. And then it's Butler finding Ben Simmons for dunk running away here. Here's Embiid using a screen Jalen the Sixers lead. Eighty three to fifty eight at halftime south Philadelphia for getting it done. Joel Embiid has been terrific thirty one to thirteen last night defense. Obviously optional these days Sixers now up ninety two sixty four there's a great moment that Jimmy Butler guarding Karl Anthony towns, you know, Jimmy relish that opportunities appointed in the tenacity that I saw lack thereof of current. And he tells a Wiggins knowing that they were going to give Jimmy Butler and a spotlight we'll be bright. How about this TJ McConnell Dario Saric? All teammates. How'd you feel now thinking I thought it would be. You know, seeing some over faces. Not too much trash talk. I don't think anybody's talking like that. But I just I like the fact that that we beat them. Anything extra? All. All right. And case you were wondering if this was just another night for the Sixers. They may have tried to say it was, but I'm social media. It clearly was more than just that. You see? Joel Embiid tweeting. It was an honor to be part of the third stringers and get a win against real NBA starters, hashtag the process and Jimmy Butler, also taking the social media posting on Instagram photo of himself. Looking at Andrew Wiggins during the game with the caption looking right through the past and to the future. All right in our media future is the NFL final four this weekend, Patrick Mahomes and the chiefs hosting Tom Brady and the patriots Sunday in the late game. But trip to Atlanta and Super Bowl. Fifty three is up for grabs the Twenty-three-year-old, Mahomes seeking his first Super Bowl appearance. The forty one year old Brady looking to go to the big game for the ninth time. But the patriots are not favored in this game in that is unusual. New England is a three point dog at the west gate, Las Vegas super book. It's just the second time in the last twenty five playoff games that New England is not favorite. So how do they feel about that? Let's find out. Let's go live to Foxborough. Are patriots? ESPN? Reporter is Mike Reese, and he is standing by Mike how are the patriots embracing this unusual role as the underdog? Greeny, they love it. They loved it heading into last week's game. Let me tell you how this sort of manifested itself they feel like they've been underdog all year as it is relating to their past championship teams, Devin mccourty saying when you think of the patriots, you think of the old championship teams in a one..

"So we just have to kind of wait and see how develops I one last topic before we go the Sixers you with them yesterday in New York. They had a narrow win over the Knicks. Who are just not good, right? Might be might be as bad as the Cavs whole, man. They are terrible the scanner in no, Tim Hardaway the fact that that game was closed. Not great for the six. They had lost their previous two games to the wizards. Who the wizards are getting better? They had a narrow loss pulled off a nice win over Toronto. Yesterday, Bradley Beal is averaging thirty point Sogame since John wall went out and they lost. This is the Sixers. They lost to the hawks at home bad loss. Then you know, narrow now you mentioned to me the other day, they're upcoming schedule. And I'm going to read it right here. So home against the timber wolves tomorrow Jimmy Butler implications in that game. Who knows what will happen with that? The return game for Dario Saric and rubber Covington on play which is a big loss for. That's right. You're right. Okay. So then here's where it gets nasty at the Pacers home to the thunder rockets and Spurs they have a Texas triangle, I guess not Texas because Oklahoma, but it's like the southwest division comes to them for a week Saturday Monday Wednesday thunder rockets Spurs, then they go on a tough west coast trip at nuggets at Lakers again that I'll be at that you'd think LeBron might be bad for at warriors at kings, and they come home and they play the raptors and nuggets at home. So you're looking at and they play the Lakers and Celtics. You know, fear radically LeBron will be back again for that. And then the Celtics so you're looking at one two three four twelve five six six consecutive games against current western playoff teams. And you know, two games with nuggets two games with the Lakers. You know, it's it's not the ideal time to be playing rough basketball. Now, there's we've had this little back and forth between these guys and and Zach Lowe wrote one story about something. And Ramona wrote another story about something else. All I know is it's not team harmony in there right now of garlic's of what the actual reality is. And so this next three weeks to tell us a lot about the seventy Sixers. I think it's a it's a brutal stretch, and it goes right up to and through that that game against the nuggets the game at home on February eight is the day of the trade deadline. So that this goes are today after I mean, this stretch goes up to and through the trade deadline, and I mean, it's thirteen games. Eleven of on national TV. Oh. They're six games to ABC games too. Oh my God. I didn't know that. Well, you know, the the NFL season is ending. So there's all this basketball. I mean, it's twelve straight games against winning teams, even Sacramento Sacramento. The last game of west coast trip puff to play at home. I mean, that's on these. Five hundred they're winning. Now, they are the only team that's under five hundred this entire stretches. Minnesota there one game five hundred. So they beat the Sixers. They'll be at five hundred. So I mean, it's it's a brutal schedule all the way through and against your point. This is a team that's not in the greatest places and. It's a stretch that could determine a lot of things. Look if they go eight and four, right. It could be really could be a real galvanizing moment for them. And it could be like, hey, we're gonna get this thing righted. They also could easily go three and nine. And who knows what I don't know. I don't know about easily. There are good team. They're going to win some of these games. But challenge all all I'm saying is these are all games that at best. Their coin flip games. Right. Yeah. This is here to just lost a Lanta and barely beat the Knicks with all three other guys healthy. So to expect them to go, you know, win by the way had a twenty two rebound game yesterday..

"Rewire rewound. He he could he didn't you? I thought he was averaging more than that. Right. He's averaged ninety eight. He wants to rear number right at sixteen twenty six and three. Those are great number. My whole thing is you got both of them. Right. One of them gain came make it oh, both into honest. Have it with neither the making those are I had it between Devon Booker. And I gave together the now because he's winning. It's hard for me to just put it as good. As Devon book is numbers is just hard for me to put it in. If he's not he's not winning. Okay. So let let me take it a step back. So technically, yes, the clippers have a better record than let's say the Spurs noca- by one game. What makes you put gala Nari over demar Roseanne? You're with somebody else. I also had on my list of the honorable mention because we'd be down. Now, we didn't even cross my mind ninety. That's why I say I applauded them in I put my favorite because even when it was winning this hard to put even when you say they kind of like James harden. Is the classified of the gar, right? He's a gar-. We have an hour is my forward. Well, I guess he was a wild cones or wildcard is going win into either way. I gather the clippers could be out of the playoffs in two days. That's how close time can is. That's what I'm saying. So your argument about him winning is is part of my new using as if the widespread number one seed when like two days they can literally be out of the playoffs. What about FOX snow? No. You're not. Twentieth. South is not there yet. And it's also like I said, it's the people are headed to bear. I didn't have the can't make your shit because kit Kat, not win in either. And then he hits. Out of thirty seven games sixteen. I'm games. He didn't score over twenty and. Aim especially became hits when Jimmy Butler left. He took out immediately. No, he just become the first optioning he immediately for number. I want to get his game. Steph from I let myself I wouldn't think that went to basketball reference. I went to game logs, and I can't and how many games he didn't score between in his sixteen. No, no, no beginning season. There's like a for the very first one is the one wouldn't even if a sixteen. But those air with Jimmy and without Jim. Yeah. This month is averaging twenty three last month have was twenty one in a month for you have is nineteen. But I still think he gets it'd be a twenty five point school easily four he's done before. So he definitely could. I think he's more than minding his his his self recently. He's put up though. 'cause like those games you're referring to for some reason. He sat nine sites that's unacceptable for guy of his town. We talk about that's another thing that crossed my mind. We when I was looking at that last night. A lot. They get mentioned on the show is yoke. It's aggressiveness. He his ass to be aggressive because yoke is going to be a facilitator and still do his thing. That's part of his game. He's not a facilitator he has come to be aggressive. Right. And he's aggressive that opens up his his his ability to pay. He's aggressive that helps them win games. Yes. They don't need. You wanna pairs? They they got some bad losses. Nobody pass to but they're gross. The last two losses on both bad the way that he plays. I don't like the way that use Dario Saric. He rarely plays. I mean, not when I say real like twenty minutes a game with. Yeah. I've seen that play against the bully at a game. He was he was a warm up. Like that makes y'all that makes y'all loses at a train because the whole thing y'all was getting both of them. And I think he'd be real good next to cat. So you think he's just started with us right now because they they not they not doing that. So let let let them young day young core mess together and develop they lost. So the hawks they lost the pales- without AD those too bad. He probably killed dogs..
Joel Embiid's struggles continue in Sixers' loss to Raptors
"Lot of hype around this raptors Sixers matchup last night. It was a close game during the first half second half, the raptors pulled away not much apprising about the result. But what I found. So surprising was the poor performance of Joel Embiid. You think he tweeted after this one not at all, especially if it was anything about the raptors, what is show me is that the Toronto Raptors have productive depth upfront that can compete on both ends of the floor pass Cousy Jakko, obviously surge a box plan, the small boss center was able to play against Joel Embiid one on one on the post, and then take it to him ofensive -ly. Yup. Big time score. And then you see in the pick and roll koala Linter taking advantage of Joel Embiid with Valentine's who had a big game off the bench and again right here. And the other thing it made me realize that they miss Dario Saric front height. Another guy. What high another guy will ball another guy to give fouls in? So Joel Embiid against the raptors they terrific job. Neutralizer him. On both ends of the floor. And that's why they had a commanding victory. I'm not gonna put all of this on Embiid. I felt they didn't post him up that much. They didn't really like run place for him in the second half. I felt like they would give him the ball. And they run someone around him for a handoff. It didn't feel like they were featuring him at that point. Well, here's you can't necessarily get feature. When it got his guard and us pushing you instead of you posting twelve feet are on lane line is pushing you out sixteen to eighteen feet and usually on a nightly basis in beats advantage. Besides the fact, he's Uber talented is he's usually bigger or stronger, then a guy he's guarding or vice versa. Search was not as big strong enough to push him away from the floor. Now, he has the athleticism and keep it from driving around on that one clip you show search offensively taking it right here bully ball in NB fails, bang bang. So it's not only on MVP cl-. Clearly, but as the game progresses, Ben Simmons, not a three point shooter can't shoot free throws to take the ball out of his hands. Jimmy Butler was terrific. So I was Leonard those guys scored over thirty five points, but the whole in the coverage yesterday was that God is playing like an MVP candidate usually didn't play. So well at Toronto. And that was Joel another thing the Sixers defensively there was so confusing is at one point was four for four from three and he kept getting open threes if he's four three he's quiet Leonard like, maybe maybe put guy near you know, it was it was odd bad performance from the Sixers especially in the second
