"Weather is 7 o'clock. From ABC News, I'm Daria albinger. Wyoming congresswoman Liz Cheney is one of the few Republicans who has been openly critical, a former president Trump, ABC's deputy political director Avery Harper says that is not expected to sit well with voters in today's primary. The notion of Republicans giving a Cheney the axe is a remarkable one, but in a post Trump GOP, that is very well worried we might find ourselves. Congresswoman Cheney voted with former president Trump more than 90% of the time. She was a staunch and still is a staunch conservative, but could see the end of her congressional career at least because she did one thing. She committed one sin in this current GOP and that's break with former president Trump. A Genie was challenged by attorney Harriet hagerman, who was endorsed by the former president. The polls are open for a few more hours in Alaska where, in addition to the primaries, there's a special election to fill the seat of the late Republican congressman Don young. The western droughts driven levels in the Colorado River a major drinking water supply to dangerously low levels. System is approaching a tipping point. And without action, we can not protect the system in the millions of Americans who rely on this critical resource. Camille kalim and chewton, the bureau of reclamation commissioner, says it's essential that western states reduce their water usage. You're listening to ABC News. If you haven't switched to Medicare yet, two big reasons to at least consider it and why it makes so much sense right now. Number one's inflation, which is just affecting everything. It makes sense to say, okay, where can I actually save? Well, you could save a lot in one fell swoop if you switch to Medicare, the typical family saves $500 a month, secondly, your conscience, Medici members aren't forced to pay for things they don't support or believe in, and that's a big deal for a lot of people right now. They want their money to actually help people. And one more reason

"7 o'clock. We're on the ABC News. I'm Daria albinger, four more than 6 hours today. Former president Trump was questioned by New York's attorney general. ABC's Aaron koterski says he invoked the Fifth Amendment on all but one occasion when he was asked his name. The two sat across the table from one another, the attorney general went first. It was her turf, of course, she was the one who had subpoenaed the former president. He fought tooth and nail for months against appearing for this deposition, but under court order he was there. And after she opened, he read a statement that his office later posted online accusing her right there face to face across the table of political motivation. The deposition was part of New York State's investigation into the Trump family business practices, it is not connected to Monday's raid on the former president's Florida home. The July consumer index shows an increase of 8 and a half percent from a year ago. That's down from 9.1% in June, art Hogan, chief market strategist for B. Riley health. A couple of pieces of news that have been market drivers and one was last Friday with a stronger than expected jobs report. And you combine that with inflation readings while still high moving in the right direction. The down soared more than 500 points, the packed act was more than just policy to President Biden, ABC's Mary Bruce says it's now law. President Biden signing legislation to expand healthcare and other benefits for millions of veterans suffering from the effects of toxic burn pits. Digital trends Joe moring says Samsung is expected to show off the galaxy fold four on Wednesday. The big change there is that the crease in the middle of that folding screen is supposedly going to get a bit less noticeable. That's due to Samsung reportedly using a new hinge design. The smaller, cheaper galaxy flip is set to get an update as well. Big change there is that the cover screen, so when it's close and folded up, the little kind of preview screen on the front of it. That should get a very slight size increase. If those sound like small updates, marring says that it may be intentional on Samsung's part. It kind of signals that we're moving away from these folding devices being kind of niche devices that we talk about, but no one really buys and they're really coming into their own and maturing to where Samsung doesn't need to make a huge monumental shifts year over year. "Good day. This is the experience Amy and Ben want to bring whether it's regulars or person coming in for the first time, and it's that second group they love the most. They just see coffee shop and they think I'm gonna grab a smoothie or a frappe or an American or latte, whatever they want. And they walk in and you see them go through this process of what's going on in here. This is a little bit different. You know, we have our TV monitors kind of looping our story and our merchandise and our different slogans not broken and radically inclusive and things like that and they go, um, what's happening here? You can't what you feel and you can't unsee what you see and it's just a very intensely visceral experience if you let it be. Neither Ben nor Amy thought the first coffee shop would grow to what it's become today now their goals are much bigger. They hope to have at least one shop in every state and eventually go international. The world is not built for people with disabilities by and large, especially intellectual and developmental disabilities. It's not built for them. And being out in the world is difficult. And it's tough. And it shouldn't be like that. You know, it's the old ramp versus the stairs notion. Most everybody can go up and down a ramp, but not everybody can go up and down stairs. So why don't we build ramps? Lionel moise, ABC News. Should we be defined by our finest hour or by our worst moments? ABC's Daria albinger introduces us to a man who may now walk the straight and narrow but who certainly knows what it's like to go astray. He reminds us we all have the ability to heal old wounds. They say you can find angels all around us if you know where to look. And if that's the case, there may be one living right next door to me. My neighbor Anthony, he's the guy who's always ready to help. A devoted father and husband. If you have something heavy, he's ready to literally shoulder the burden. Volunteers at the local food bank. And when my husband nearly died from COVID a year ago, it was Anthony, not the EMTs, who got him safely into the ambulance. So it wouldn't be a stretch to say that Anthony is living his best life. But that wasn't always the case. He spent more than a dozen years behind bars. Drugs. It happens several decades ago. A friend of mine when I was living in PA, he came up, I haven't seen him in a while. I didn't want to be involved. And after badgering me for a couple of months, I got involved. And he paid the price. How many years did you spend in prison? 15 and a half. But if Anthony can turn his life around, can anyone is redemption a given if you put the work in? And just what does that work entail? Redemption to me is really a moment of self awareness that takes us on a different journey. And sometimes redemption comes with a little bit of shame, sometimes it comes with a little bit of guilt, but those are sort of like a bit of an internal GPS system that just kind of remind us to take a U turn. It's kind of the moment when we realize we're not taking steps in the direction that aligns with our values, our hopes, our dreams and the purpose. Doctor Roxanne Lowe was a psychologist based in Jacksonville, Florida, her husband, father Nicholas Lowe is a Greek Orthodox person. Is basically once a payment is being made on behalf of someone else in the case of our lives, we talk about the fact that we are all we've all been sold under our own sin. We have been held captive by that sentence. She's treated and they've counseled hundreds of people over the years. You know, I think it's easy to keep spelling our milk and rather than stepping back and looking at why we're spilling the milk. Do we have the tools to stop spilling our milk? Do we have the capacity to change that behavior? So everyone has the capacity for change, but it begins with a level of self awareness and studying ourselves enough to know what's wrong, why it's wrong and how we grow from making it right. So you don't necessarily believe that people are hardwired to behave a certain way that they really can't change their ways. You hear the word plastic, right? Our brains are plastic, which means we can create new neural pathways new highways, new connections, and the more we do something, the more that becomes a physiologically ingrained pathway in our brains. Without trying to sound too preachy, redemption is an awareness of our own bizarre that we need to change our ways. We need to look at what we've done wrong, own it, repent from it, but grow from it. And while most of us may not have gone to prison, we've probably done or said at least a few things that we regret, doctor Lowe says, we can put some of those same ideas into practice in our daily lives. When you look at an individual, you know, I do think we have to be brought to our knees in order to be able to stand it back up. Father Nicholas adds like so many things you just have to keep moving forward. Guilt is like a treadmill. You do a lot of work, but you don't go.
