"And that's extremely crazy. He could break forty five hundred most likely will and he brought he broke. His own record are single. Season passing Yar healed freighter auditor. Yeah so yeah. He just sat franchise record this year. How you mentioned the Carolina? Panthers Cornerback Dante Jackson The defensive coaching staff for two horrible. 'cause Matt Ryan's touchdown passes so things are imploding. They're just as we suspected and fad. That's a revolt lover. Doing a nice house cleaning those going to wrap it up for us us. We'll have the preview for the Detroit Lions on Friday. Apologize For this podcast. Being so late it was a nice day yesterday and I want to sit in the house all all day doing film work so I took her to the park and caused me to have to do the video today. which you can't do the podcast on film review? I haven't reviewed the film yet so here. We all got it out but Friday molly will have her breakdown of the Detroit. Lions coming out though she good one interesting when if you WANNA hang out and listen to the pot or the press conference of Bruce Arians. Latest press conference could stick around. But it's going to do it for us do next time. Get Lax to add them yesterday. like I said I. I love the fact that our team doesn't get down during a game. You know we throw a pick six to mess left. Have we just go right back out and go back down to score touchdowns and and get it back to one score game We turn it. We get a turnover we turn it back over. We've we stop for a kick. You great pressure on the kicker should blocked a kick early in the game. We came free. Went right past the ball. I think that was still in the kid's mind So that the resiliency of the team that they're not we're not quitting The fact that we are now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Not GonNa Change Anything. We're GONNA come. We're going to work. We're going to try to win four in a row within five hundred zero difference in earlier in the year versus this year. Where when you do have the turnovers.

"I mean going into the season, I think everybody bucks fans, look that the division and thought that you know, the bucks would definitely be the worst than then that the same of the falcons on the Panthers would you know, sort of battle it out for the top three spots, and they were all potential playoff teams the now boy the falcons on the Panthers are bad. And so that was unexpected. And not a lot of fun for anybody. And I do think it is worth pointing out that both teams have suffered injuries throughout the season. Some pretty significant, you know, the falcons injuries are pretty well documented the Panthers I think suffered quite a few on the offensive line very early in the season, which arguably could could have been a big contributor to Cam Newton's getting banged up throughout this season. So let's talk about this game though. This is interesting falcons are five nine the Panthers are six eight. So a win by the falcons, essentially ties them, but would put the falcons ahead because they would have the better NFC south records to the falcons with actually the. Have the potential to finish second in the NFC south, which I don't know that that's something. Either team wants this point because they're essentially playing the sells out of draft position if they win this game, but that's a completely different conversation. So let's talk about the falcons offense going up against this Panthers defense, and to me this is one of the this is interesting because Brian last week, even though it was a loss. The pit Thor's defense actually held New Orleans to twelve points in Carolina. They they really really stymied that normally high scoring explosive saints offense. So what was the story there? What finally clicked that that defense showed up in the big way against the division rival? Well, the secondary showed up number one. Dante Jackson had himself a really good game as the Panthers second round pick from this year. They managed to get forced turnovers. They got they had a couple on top of the. Two point conversion return by Dante Jackson, which turned into two points for the Panthers. Front seven wasn't all that great. They still managed to get after breeze a little bit. But for the most part, it was just a it was just a herculean effort by lewke cly who had one of his best games ever. And the secondary finally playing up to what they seemed like they had the potential to be earlier in the season..

"And we have nothing close to resembling any of those things. Like, I just see I've seen it enough over the last few weeks that I've I've figured it out like the safeties half could be the safeties have to be versatile. And I think the air read can be that. But he's not the free safety. They need Carolina used to get away with having to strong safeties. But that was because their front seven was so strong where now they tasked Mike like there was that play that they broke down where James Bradbury was essentially playing. Like a single high safety where Dante Jackson got beat. The Dante Jackson's on an island, but if James bradberry didn't shake the other way to leave Dante Jackson island, you would left Mike Adams on the island with David. And Joe coop. Yeah. Not a good. Look the like and might like, that's that's the thing that really bothers me about his defense like they ask Mike Adams, and they ask agreed to do way. Too much considering the skill sets that they bring to the table like you could take either one of those guys in Param with a guy like Earl Thomas, and I think they'd be successful. But they can't be with without that without that commentary piece and without that front seven being as good as they have been in the pats. Yeah, you can't really get away with being predictable with your like with the defensive sets running. If you don't have that talent versatility athleticism in the back. Like everybody knows we're gonna play cover three especially to start a game to kind of get our footing. So the Browns grand a two-man route combination that's designed explicitly to beat covers Rian nothing but cover three and got a wide. They sent two players out on routes, and we have seven coverage. Got a wide open receiver down the field. Yuccas and the re a good a good case study of that is the Seattle covers three concept because they ran that for to perfection, but the X factor was Earl Thomas because he could cover that kind of situation and still make it work for the defense where making grad berry do that or greed or Mike Adams is bad news. Yeah. So it's like. Earl Thomas who has more to mentally. Gano. Your Earl Thomas is like the most rain just about any safety in the NFL for started getting hurt and then on and then he even can kinda shade one way because Richard Sherman, so good that you know, you know, he doesn't know that Richard Sherman doesn't really need any help. So that's how that works because like they're talented enough to where you can't get even knew Nino what they're doing. And they've always had the pass rush to make it. Rush the quarterbacks. Into poor decisions. We don't have either of those any of those things we don't have a lockdown corner or rangy safety or dominant pass rush. Yeah. Like, fundamentally I see what Carolina's defense is trying to do like they're trying to get after the passer. Make them throw the ball quickly. Make them throw the ball into a window where it's going be tough for the receiver to catch it. The problem is that none of those things happen on a given play most of the time. Yeah. Like, so. For Carolina to to make an I I am really. I'd be shocked if they make the playoffs this year. And even they do I'm not going to ever think they're gonna Super Bowl. But if they wanna turn this team around next year at least as far as defensive plays. Go. Go out and free agency and signed the range of safety. You can get for free safety getting the draft.

"Here's an aim at first. I think wait what did you say? Oh, okay. That's it. That's all I'm going to save. Let's go. Let's go to a sad story. The the Carolina Panthers. Go to Cleveland Browns. Win this one. Nice win for the Browns here. Twenty six twenty was the final. This feels like it. It is all for the Carolina Panthers. Five straight losses. It started with that Thursday night massacre in Pittsburgh, and they had a couple of bad break filled games where they lost to Detroit losses Seattle and the last two weeks they've they've they just been outplayed in Tampa. And now in Cleveland. One of the hardest things to deal within the NFL is hiding a vulnerable cornerback and right now, Dante Jackson, their rookie corner has a big shiny X on his back. And we wondered I wrote this Friday, I don't matter for talked about it on the podcast Thursday or not. But I figure Cleveland's gonna come out. They're going to line up in whatever formations they can't figure out exactly where Jackson is. And they're going to go after him deep, and that's what they did on the very first play of the game. They went after Jackson diva Mayfield made an unbelievable throw at traveled. I think sixty seven yards. Most of them were air yards per shot. Perriman, remember him? The ravens goes actually playing better each week. He's a lot more of a diverse receiver here in Cleveland than he ever was in Baltimore. Freddie kitchens is doing a great job at offense coordinator and mayfield's decisiveness city plays with is a great reflection on them. This is if this continues three more weeks the. Browns will be one of the most interesting quarterback and head coaching offense coordinator search combination stories that we have in the NFL this year because I'm they look like a whole different offense for Freddie kitchens and his game plan to tell a story. That's what I like. It's not just individual plays. There's a semblance of continuity to what they're doing. Yeah. Yeah. Paramount Dante Jackson's a couple of a couple of combine stars right there to the fastest guys in football Carolina, though. Cam Newton shoulder has been an issue. It's everyone knows it's an issue at this point. He hasn't played as well as he did in the first half of the season. But I mean, look they're sitting at sixty seven right now as I said earlier, Andy, it's very interesting all the six and seven teams by the time the Monday night football game, raps up. They'll be no more than one game out of the out of the last playoff spot in the NFC. But Panthers just seems like this is this is over for them. Well, but you just said that the front of that sentence. It's not at all over for them. But they're playing so poorly in their quarterback is so hampered by all the all the hits he's taking do we have to. You're not gonna want to revisit that. There has to be some solution to keep Cam Newton in one piece over the course of season. Well, so I don't think it's the hits their until was not good today and Chris Clark left tackle struggled a lot with Myles Garrett. And a variety of ways guaranteed him inside. He'd beat them outside with speed beating power garrison more technically gifted mechanically sound player than we think. And that was an issue in this game. I don't think it's been an issue much of the season though. I think it's been overall a decently achieving offense of line given what we thought they'd be there. And they've got some make shift guys in there. And maybe it's catching up to them. Now, my buddy great Casilda NFL films. He made a great as reading through his film notes this week made a great point about Cam Newton Cam Newton's and arm thrower, the reason his ball sales. Every once in a while, and he had a few more in this game every game. He's got some. They just gonna miss on is going to be off target member few weeks ago. Seattle two point conversion worst time of the game to be off target. But it's going to happen every week with Cam the reason he's like. That is because his legs do not always coincide with his arm. And he's not in that Patrick Mahomes conversation that we had earlier is how good is the arm talent in and of itself..

"It was he was just getting abused. It was they've more that new north east central north west central home. The what a sleeper the Seahawks gotten that kid. Now, he looks real good. But I wanna remind people that was against corn elder house against captain moaner. Lynn, you know, Dante Jackson is a much better course of that's that'd be the player had really liked to see if he could return. I know I'm not certain that he is back in. So they can be had against this wide receiver core. I know Dijon Jackson might be a little bit dinged up. But that still they've got I think a guy that should be in the conversation for one of the best receivers in the game, Mike Evans, and then that that Godwin and. Kris Humphries in the slot is doing really good things for them. So I think that's where the buccaneers do take advantage. Just as it. I love the Panthers defense the scheme. I love Keithly calling it out there. It's just that's where they're always prone. They can be had if they don't have great corner play. And I think that's why they spent the pick on Jackson. So I think that's the one little weakness there but outside I do like the where the Panthers at. I think they respond backed up back up against the wall. This is that type of team that they have to be in the postseason. They're going to get it solved. And I also like were their offenses at it's not just Greg Olsen, and and to McCaffrey and running and Cam, I think not only McCaffrey stay in his game up. But that DJ more kid is just I he is just a spark a insane results. What he did at the combine? And now it's really starting to come to fruition on the field. I don't know that he did. A ton of Maryland as far as you know, the numbers of people just you know, sometimes stats scout. But you could see in the plays. And now, it's it's so translated I think that's kind of that new dimension on offense for them..

"I mean, obviously, this was a some some struggles in the second half rely manning and that kind of caught up to this team, but he did have one play there late in the game where he comes. And you know, he's in the end zone. And he looked like he was going to be able to draw penalty got held there at the end. It was a pretty obvious call and that doesn't get called. And then, you know, there are some complaints about that. He went right to the official and. And made some some complaints. And obviously the eagles fans loved that in Philly seen him do that gave them the, you know, couple like crying faces and all that sort of stuff but just looking at this game. I it does seem like the giants. It has been a law season from the start, and it the little things that sometimes go your way when when you when you do have things rolling. It just seems like they haven't been able to get it going, and and one of those guys OB BJ who got the contract this year was one of the big stories in the off season, and regardless of how well he's been able to play. They just have not been able to string wins together. And and figure way to to get back in the fold there in the NFC, look and that call I mean, look the LeBlanc, you know. As a kid. We Bella check. And I did LeBlanc. We were down in Florida at the practice and before we played the dolphins. And we went over to Florida athletic and spent time over there worked him out, and we signed him as a college free agent. I and he's limited in what he can do. But he's a tough minded kid. He's one of the few kids ever met from Belgrade glade that doesn't have great speed. You know, usually those guys from Belgrade can fly, but he. The you know, he's got good instincts on the football. I mean, look, I don't know how it wasn't called. It's like, I don't know how on Thanksgiving Day. There wasn't helmet the helmet. You know, there's just some things you just don't understand it as it's called football. You just have to explain it in that sense. Well, one thing we didn't understand too. And that's second half is, you know, saquon Barkley just did not get his name. Call number call it at all. I mean and even second half, you know, FOX announcer came out and said we haven't called barcodes name at all in the second half. I mean is there any world in which Lombardi I mean as cynical as as may be that the giants are still playing and staking in for that draft position. And you know, even though they were up nineteen to three they were totally fine to throw this game away. Even if it was a divisional game. Now, I think they wanted to win. I think they're embarrassed. I think they thought they should have won it. I think they definitely wanted to win it. And you know, I think that they would have gone all the way through to try to win it. So. You know, I think there's no doubt they wanted to try to win that game. I think there's no doubt at all. Speaking of two teams that winning is at a premium because of the tight race in the NFC. There may be panic time with the Carolina Panthers at this point. They were just not too long ago. Six and two they've dropped three in a row with the last loss coming to the Seahawks the Seahawks as much as this game was a back and forth affair. I mean the Panthers. They outgained the Seahawks by two yards. And the average was one point eight more yards per play in this one. But Dante Jackson goes down and had a few few bad calls down there in the red zone. Cam Newton fourth-down sneak the didn't quite work out for those guys..

"Yeah i think it's going to be an up hill paddle because everyone's focused on the quarterbacks battling get it i understand why because that's kind of the tradition this time of year to focus on the lsu quarterback battle but i think it's much bigger than that because even when they struggle defined an offense they always had a running game like not just a good running game an absolute monster at running back it'd be darius geiss there leonard for nettie goal it back joseph guy there's always running back there and nothing against nick reset you just don't have that that certainty right now you don't have reassurance that those running game will be able to dominate like it has in the past regardless of what the quarterback situation is and then on top of that i mean i think they're they're pretty thin in the defensive backfield i mean greedy williams is great these all grant dope get hurt but a lot of people have moved on dante jackson kevin oliver you know this topic that they've lost patrick's kane on national signing day to alabama christian fulton is still fighting to your suspension so you know dv you is kind of like devi who right now and if you're gonna be lsu and not have a quarterback battle in the fall it has to be solved quickly you have to solve that early in fall camp because you're gonna have to find out if you can play outside of your comfort and i don't think lsu can win fourteen to thirteen games like they used to into last mile that's not the way the college football landscape has evolved and especially if you're not gonna have a deep secondary you may have to play more games outside your comfort zone if you're lsu so all those things together i just i i don't see how they're going to have success i mean it's it's one of those things where lsu is is going to be like it has been in the past excess i think that the challenge is to you know to focus on that running game and have it the strength is going to be much more challenge in the end i realize we're into we're entering into.
