"I mean he. Just that's what saving did he built that up and then he went to the dolphins and he got humbled in school there. They made the wrong choice. Didn't get drew brees. And they got daunte culpepper. And then the the alabama job chain and there you go you got at sequoia it's just like urban meyer. Same thing with him. Okay he leaves. He gets a shot at a bowling green. Those unbelievable job there. You're with him. Florida starts getting some really solid players around the country whence to national championships. And you guy he comes then. The moons are aligned. And that's what they thought it michigan. When harbaugh came home the beaujolais becua- junior was here. And then urban from after buell ohio he gets the gig and he's home freeze starts bringing kingpin guys in here and you know. And that's what that's what day you know the cupboard's full he just has to keep building up becoming a better coach this that and you know just a millionaire way is i mean right. I mean it's just the way it is questioned dabble sweeney. He got lucky. Trevor lawrence fell into his lap. Because brandon justin field goals there and because of ron brown he transfers and then when you got one of the best quarterbacks last twenty five years on kernersville georgia i mean that helps you gotta get player hopes. And then you've got to get better as a coach that's it. That's it and ryan right. Is that a good job of finding a way to make yeah to make sure they have. An elite quarterback from developing dwayne haskins. Dwayne was leaving. he knew tate. Martell wasn't the answer. He had to find a guy he pulls fields out of the portal. Now he's pulling in five star after five star high school kids. He's found a way to load up that position group which is critical critical. But i want to go back to something. You said a minute ago because i know this story. I promise you our listeners. Don't know the story. So i'm gonna tell you my rendition version. That i've heard. And no of when nick sabin and this is you know. This is kind of the lineage of michigan state right nick. Sabin is the head coach at michigan. State gets the lsu job. Here's what i know of. The story has a staff meeting tells everyone on staff. Listen i got this job. Everyone here has the same position available to them at lsu. The plane leaves tomorrow morning. Nine a m. Just meet me on the tarmac and get on the plane if you wanna come. And he went to the tarmac with the plane and not a sing- single son of a bitch showed up. Is that true or false. that's true. is that unbelievable because it that's true because it's funny because you know i used to make fun of nick sabin. He didn't like it. And i and i love nick. Sabin his his daughters married to a young man who Played on the golf. You my step step stepson excuse me from lansing catholic family and the save and family. Our you know mary next daughter so he still has ties. He's kind a lot of friends here still and he. It was because of the president was here They had a falling out. And it'd be people say well he couldn't get the money that goes is all him and his whole we're tight they still are. Tommy is in nick. Sabin are very tight and It was funny. Because i am just really started getting into radio then and i get this call from a louisiana peoper around new orleans and i had never been exposed to something like this. The guy goes. I understand david mad dog. America i go yeah i am. Who's calling then. He tells me the the publication he said. Well we understand nick. Sabin is just take nail issue job. I all apps news to me. He goes well and then it was God's truth and.

"Yeah, right. We we needed that game. That was a wild heart. So yeah, but it's hope you guys make the playoffs this year. I hope you guys do it. The way the seasons going in in general. I think we will you're better than Chicago. I think you are. Thank you better than Chicago. We never would already be to get out of the first round and he looked like he was off Rogers, right they did but I still think I still think you're better in terms of you. Just need to you need to get rid of Patricia. That's the first step. You ain't lying and that's a real deal get rid of him and said we gotta get rid of Zimmer's they were needed to be gone last year. I don't care that we went when are play again Zimmer so bad Zimmer. Let me go bad. Let me ask you this is a Vikings fan. How weird is it to see Adrian Peterson in Alliance Jersey. So that doesn't bother us when when he had that whole switch incident that happened I think in 2016 is from correct something like that kind of really dropped him down a couple pegs. So I've got a buddy who who really kind of knows him. Well, he owns the buddy. I have owns Original Pancake House in Eden Prairie, which is where Adrian Peterson was all wage. Into on Tuesdays, he was like bring his players and hang out there and he just said that kind of was like the moment of like Adrian Peterson was done with Minnesota like and for whatever reason it is head. He felt like the Vikings were not handling that girl, which I was like, I don't know how they're not handling this. Well like you worked a three-year-old. Yeah. Yeah. I mean you did that bro not here to argue the philosophy of what he did. I'm more so saying like it came down you did it on it and move on like yeah, I think so. I think him going to Detroit and and spending time with Washington. It was like whatever to us. We love Dalvin cook would love David Cook here and so like for whatever reason it's fine. He's a viking long-term. Everybody knows it. I mean, he'll retire of like go into the Hall of the Viking he'll go into the halls of hiking I mean that 2096 yard rushing game against the Chargers. That's that's that's a Hall. That's the that's the game that they show right? I mean so he's he's good. I don't really care. I mean you guys got ever seen Griffin today to like he just got traded in line off. 6 round grass, right? So like I mean, it's just seems like that's kind of the place for Vikings to go die a little bit kind of how I look at it. I mean, I mean if I ever since this is it this is the last month. It's where it's we're our Patriots and Vikings go to die here. It's Matrix one goes to die. Yeah. Remember when we got a oh remember when we when we got home from the Vikings is I can see his face Daunte Culpepper. Was there. Culpepper? I loved Dante Culpepper. Yeah. I was like, oh, we got Daunte Culpepper post Miami. This is going to be fun. Yeah, right. Everyone goes to die. Jeff Garcia died there. Oh gosh. Yeah. Kitna Jaan kidnapped his Cincinnati day at home. Yeah, what's his name? Can't think of his name though. Otherwise, I keep thinking Isaac Bruce, but it wasn't Isaac Bruce you guys you guys also had the you had the guy that said ESPN now the wake up guy Dan orlovsky. Oh God don't mention that name off their name to Pearl. I printed on the back of the endzone with Jared Allen pointing at him laughing. I cannot stand or blah or volaski has the nerve to be paid on ESPN to talk about a game. He could barely play for sure. No grow. Would he be talking about people I might do did you see your career? I have like five total touchdowns in your wage fifteen year career as a backup. Like what are you talking about? Right? Yeah and big moments. Did you play in broke? It is funny to hear him critique. It is very funny to you. He is off, but at least I will I will listen to guys who weren't that great, but noting I listen to Kirk Herbstreit on College. He was great in college. That's where he should be talking. I'll listen to dead. The one that won the title with the Ravens, I can't remember his name. Oh Trent Dilfer Trent Dilfer. I'll listen to Trent Dilfer cuz he does know the game. He knows his position and the guy actually want he wasn't a great quarterback by listen to him off and he had he had times of he was successful. I will listen to a Jeff George I listen to a I'll even listen to a Jeff Blake Tony Romo is great to Tony Romo. He joked all the time. He knows what he's on another level with his should be coaching like totally agreed. I'll I'll listen to Tony Romo. I will not give any Credence to a word Dan of lost key. So I thought that was literally you answered my questions like his life spans. Do we like that or allow skis famous now or do we hate it we get going on though. No. Okay. I definitely we have so many of the backup quarterback. So I'd rather listen to 905. Yes. Drew Stanton were these little Arrogant with it too. Right? Like he's just a little he's a little legs. He thinks he's right and you're like that's a little weird that you're saying at that way. Like does he know we're all laughing at him now. It's like you're not Steven A Smith. You're not Skip Bayless your day in our lives lost. Oh my gosh. Okay. I can't I can't I can't cuz we'll go off. I'm sorry. I took you down just down the Dan orlovsky path. I apologies. It's not your fault. Is this what happens when we talk about the Lions and cuz we get all passionate. We're like we want to Hulk out and I will save expands we do not look down on lions fans. Like we we like we watch the lines or like that sucks. That sucks. We really hate the Bears and the Packers. We we're cool with you guys you guys rock? That's cuz we're not a threat. Yeah, but like if you meet a lions fan, that's a that's a fan. Yes. There's no bandwagon lion fans. No, no. No when you guys get good eventually and somebody says, I've always been one. They're lying to you probably. Yeah. Yeah one of the moment when you get good, it's like it's like a Golden State Warrior fans that crap. Oh, yeah. Yeah, so he know you in the Warriors as as a I'm a Laker fan as well in LA Laker fan. I I know we're going to talk about this later a little bit. But like my buddy Rob who's on the infinity Rose podcast him and I had to endure six years of our friends just like coming after us and we were like, there's going to come a moment. We're we're good with the Lakers and here it is. Right. Let's keep those receipts with you. Got you got to keep the receipts. However, I'm scared that will be long gone before any receipts could be cash in for the Lions. Like maybe the will be those fans like dead. Boston fans of those Cubs fans that that, you know lived to be eighty five and never saw their team when the championship like we had we just had we just had a really famous Minnesota sports writer named and died at a hundred years old never saw a single Vikings win the Superbowl. Wow. That was like what his son wrote in the story of his dad that you see that wage and see we'll see see you today the Jersey guy so he doesn't go to all Detroit sports like I do but I am blessed..

"Jesus? No. He's not one hundred. The year before I was born nineteen eighty-two. She's played thirteen years since kick and I just looked it up. Ted Hendricks. 10-punt blocks and fourteen kick box who shit. Yes in one thousand, nine, hundred, ninety, four hits seven combined blocks. That's insane. Could Lord. Where when did he play? This back. In the fifties. I mean seventy four. So probably, no. Nineteen, sixty, nine to nine hundred. Oh, by the way, I'm Gary Anderson play for twenty three years not thirteen who's thirteen with with the steelers before we moved up. All right. Well, I guess it's not. Now. Richard. Seymour. Gone through this topless, he's not here bud sorry. Well, blocking kicks was easier Julius peppers. Realize twelve field goals on. Damage had no. Peppers this massive still wouldn't have expected other teams to like put those caliber guys on special teams like you do with. About. Speaking turnovers. Oh. About this Musoma Vikings team. Fumble city. So they came into this is this is just like a great team to watch I think. They came into the game. Having the top ranked rushing offense, which are the two thousand pages defense. Should be a bad sign yet. Yeah I mean they've had other teams room for two hundred yards with. Not. that. They had the third ranked offense overall. But. They also have the thirty first ranked defense not good. They were also the most penalized team in the league averaging nine penalties game. I don't think they quite high in this game today they were on a good pace, but they they've dropped it. eight penalties for seventy four yards. So bowel almost average. They also were the worst team. In the NFL in turnover differential coming into the game it was minus sixteen. And in eleven days. Depending on. Because they were they were. Three and seven ten games. had. A minus sixteen. So there are almost minus to every game. In this one, they were worse than that. They had four fumbles of. Three. Blocks. And blocked field goal which. So, they had three. Three goals and two fumbles in the field goal block before like mid second by the end of the first half. So, basically, the way the game went is the Vikings would drive down the field and then fuxing up. The they got the ball to star I drive down the field. get inside in England ten yard line, and then Daunte culpepper pulls would I would generally say. So. And they're trying to do a screen it gets blown up. So he just backpedals straight backwards for fourteen yards and then throws out of bounds. But because he's still in the tackle box, it's intentional grounding. Throw towards anybody. So that backed out of. Turn into a long field goal a weird call that though where they put it put the ball where he threw it from as oppose yes and yards I didn't know that's the thing. Yeah it's either ten yards or Yeah or where it was from whichever further back. which is crazy. But. Then that got blocked because it's now like a like forty six or forty, eight yards that instead of what would have been a chip shot. So payers get the ball back drive straight down breath attention for you. And then Minnesota Punch it New England gets the ball. Back. And drove all the way got another four touchdown from Brady..

"Which became far better and far more dominant than his first act Daunte Culpepper was off the Miami Dolphins after one season and when I watch Dante Culpepper for those first two games he's playing against the Steelers on a Thursday night and he's playing against buffalo I remember watching that game vividly in my freshman dorm I was like this guy's cooked this guy shot this guy has nothing left what could have been to breeze in Miami there's Nick Sabin we aim for Alabama there are so many like trickle down effects for me that hits home that makes it personal now if you're Jeff and the example I expect many to give up it's no not even what could happen if Dan Marino was the quarterback it is a far greater one and if you know anything about the history of the franchise HM really hit home a bit what what bill Belichick doesn't have the desire to break away from the Parcells what bill Belichick has the confidence that jet ownership is where it needs to be and what if bill Belichick remained as head coach of the New York Jets you want to what could have been that is the ultimate what could have been what if bill Belichick stays with the jets we have a lot of fun with this because I'm sure that for whatever team you root for whatever your personal preference maybe there might be one that eats at you again a transaction that didn't happen but you think about what could happen if indeed it did happen yeah good luck trying to make sense that but what we'll do wacky started shells so listen as I love to say in many ways ladies and gentleman boys and girls we have a little trouble we have a little bit of adversity there was no way to go but up we are back on the air I am thankful for the fact that I will not be doing the show I hope as I'm not right now on my table from my cell phone I don't think anybody wants to hear them and then we want to deal with that but here we are it's two twenty two it's J. J. have to digest his chance to guide you through the overnight right here on the fan so I ask you what is your ultimate what could have been from a support standpoint when it comes to a transaction or move that was in may let's dig deep here let's see we got and your thoughts on C. Kwan Barkley getting paid in a couple years and how if you could do it over again there's no way in the world view the jacket and running back with the second pick your call jury action get all wrong right after this our.

"Duncan is both a power forward and center depending on how you want to look at it if a guy played an entire season in his career at one position then to me you can consider him a player at that position even if he played more seasons at a different position I would still included in the conversation at the other position any play Tim Duncan played more center over the course of his career then he did power forward but he help bring a championship to San Antonio with David Robertson as a power forward so to me he he gets because of it's flexibility he gets to be considered both the power forward Anna center ND years did he played power forward he might have played him better than anybody else who's ever played that position in the NBA yes he did not play for his entire career and when I ask a question like who's the greatest power forward in history the NBA your criteria might be different than mine you might think that Tim Duncan don't center is not a power forward Terry doesn't even qualify why does in my mind because he did win a championship at that position Kevin Garnett plates obscenities day for me played more power forward in anything shoot there were times depending on how again you use your definition you could almost look at him as a small forward because he played so much on the perimeter so Kevin Garnett qualifies he doesn't quite make it for me as a small forward but either as a power forward or center who's the greatest power forward history basketball did he get inducted into the hall of fame this weekend an active you two choices sorry Rudy Tate not to worry you're good power port not a great power Florida good power forward and you're going into the hall of fame if you didn't go to day in your life I don't know we taught be talking about you go get in this weekend he got in more so for his coaching days playing bridge pretty damn good player do just not great as a difference who's the greatest power forward in history NBA hop on board my telephone lines eight five five two one two four two two seven die from Jacksonville good enough to get on with this exact you may not be dark to the punch yes you did while I was a drug driver slowed Jody every once in a while he takes a nap your service or which you are I love you we love you alter both you know what what social server build to order if you could call it Jody how he was very critical to us said the you know because usually usually was injury prone that he wasn't elusive about would be able to stay healthy in the in the how we loved her would yet you have the opposite wordmark princess is that he's going to be the best player in the NFL in two or three years to be that journey that still remains the most intriguing part of the early rounds all the dolls my daughter is going to pull the trigger on charges go pull the trigger on tour was you got a full the team doctors not being able to get a hold of America he makes amazing the big dynamic of the early part of the when you look if you don't mind me asking when did you catch bill was here on CBS or was it where somewhere else or our our our shared history government would show little or your own records show that you know but it's not that big you know the reason the reason why I ask you okay the reason why I ask is Phil and I have been debating quarterbacks and bills usually pretty good about helping out me I I'm trying to do specific guests because I now only have one show we grabbed two and getting specific things done over the course of one children apps site I wasn't planning on reaching out to fill now maybe I should if I know that he's I've down onto it you made it sound because I'm not I'm more with my great chance if you say he was the one who was singing to his praises you know that's been the case now for two years I thought that's about to its anti blossom David sophomore year acting comes in as a freshman and rallies Alabama from a port trailing at half in the championship game I said man this kid's got a chance to be special he comes right back out his sophomore year he does what he does and yes he was out played in the championship game that's true but he had been phenomenal all season all all season after that point and oh by the way Murray you beat him out for the Heisman he beat him in the ball game I don't want mono outplayed him at the quarterback position Notre Dame outplayed Oklahoma and I thought that was a federated cap and then yes I thought he could win the Heisman issue that certainly went by the boards when he got hurt but it didn't matter could borrow had the most unbelievable year we've ever seen by a college quarterback so he wasn't going to win it it hasn't changed my opinion one iota about the fact that I take to a tiger below it's going to be a star quarterback in the National Football League I cannot ignored the fact that he's had a couple of injuries any of them the kind that I think will be always reoccurring and something is always going to have to deal with or diminishes potential no so I would disagree with Bellaire it would be depressed iPhone I ever disagreed on a quarterback we've done some really good spots over the years to unite debating and arguing on quarterbacks I I'm with my trade ties I'm with anybody who thinks too it's going to be a star I will not go so far I'm not too obnoxious is to say he should be the number one pick I think borrow earn that with the kind of season that he had aids we've never seen anything like that before but if you said to me today here for you had written criteria that we could judge by and agree to how we will determine who has the better career I tell you right now I think to talk of laws could have a better career than Joe bro I do I did go should go number one not gonna blame Cincinnati you're not gonna hear me call to did IT on the carpet three years from now what the hell would I take it not taken talk about law I'm just going to say I kind of told you to it's going to become a star Neka cast dispersions but has not changed my opinion when I oda I've seen the video of women I told is is video of him moving around with nobody else on the field with him it looks pretty surprised it made but I I'm not gonna put too much into it a little credence that I give it I thought was pretty good but again it's a a bigger decision than that whoever gets him I think he's going to get themselves a star QB right read all the whatever's worth blood from the dolphins passed up on a generator was drew Brees turned into all fair market pay for that to happen by dolphins again understood Gary thanks for the call that was via a trade they could've gotten drew Brees everybody passed on to breeze in the draft because he didn't go to the perspective the second round there might have been a team it did never fresh up pick that year but whole bunch did not just the dolphins dolphins were close to trading for him from San Diego decided to go to the doctor a Culpeper route instead I know by the way there's one that we could revisit I would say you'd call pepper fan coming out of college I had a guy who I really trusted at the time was my draft Nick this was before hi Rick Jerry Taliban the NFL draft Bible and I became as tight as we were and he told me that he actually believed that Culpepper had a better arm than Peyton manning he came out same time Peyton manning any said Payton might be a better leader it might be the more cerebral quarterback but just ability on the field the god given athletic throwing talents Nicole Pepe was better than Peyton manning and he told me this in October of that year not bad we're prepping up to draft before the season was ever played out he called me it's it is a kid at central Florida Jodie you gotta watch when he's on TV I watched him play I've heard nothing but raves about it I went down and scouted up he has all the tools all the tools so I was a big Culpepper fat so I might've made staves a mistake the dolphins did and threw in with Daunte Culpepper rather than drew Brees that's why these people get paid to make these very important decisions and I can remake it again in two and a half weeks of the NFL draft Stephen Pittsburgh's up on CBS sports radio thirty year best bang Steve thanks for checking in how you doing eight as a part of the body complain about all these draft this draft at the nineteen seventy four draft rules the best draft undisputable in history without risk technologies our bills and whistles thank for one individual team I would have that's right yeah and that's that I know I knew that's what you're referring to I've never gone back and looked at the nineteen seventy four draft as compared to just seventy eight or eighty eighty five with the nineteen ninety six of the two thousand and eight trucks I've never done that so I don't know if it's the greatest draft ever but we can go back and look at who the Steelers landed in that draft and how many hall of Famers came out of that draft I I think I don't have in front of me but I'm agreeing with your point that that is the greatest individual draft pick any one particular team is ever had you are correct without all the bells and whistles in the orchestra they are going on nowadays I don't see why everybody's complained you're not coming on boats and and okay yes or whatever it is you know right it's old school and guess what old school counts Steve thanks for the call I'm sorry did I don't have that seventy four graph right in front of me at this minute to help solidify your point it is the greatest draft ever by one individual team you're right it's the same program have been changed for weeks now that while it's not going to be as in depth teams are going to have to make modifications on the way they go about doing their business on the fly it's going to be more difficult for them but if you're a fan of a team can you believe your team has a good structure to it did you got good smart people in place did you have got talented individual making decisions it could actually play your benefit then if there are some teams out there that are sold locked in with the way that they do things because they're going to be forced to do without certain pieces of information without face to face contact that they may count on indoor analyzed to over analyze they actually could be a bit of a disadvantage here you're right so it is going to be on the individual teams knowing what they do and and can't do to be able to put together a comprehensive draft.

"Story then he said he just couldn't visualize himself playing for another team and he retires and I'm wondering if that's gonna hit a Tom Brady if that's going to have to drew Brees who it looks like it's going to play this year a Philip rivers right where they just in the end the like you know what I can't do it the end I think Eli did the right thing because I don't think there was a market for you lie I just done his his career is done he probably stood a couple seasons too long in my opinion but there is no market for him I think he did the right thing is that embarrassing himself and not being picked up by anyone Philip rivers I still think you have some game left in them as seem to be said obviously for Brady but also Jimmy I think three's still has another year and I'm in New Orleans I think will do well he just fits that system so well had the saints wanted all I think Brees walks away yeah absolutely yeah and I think that's the competitor in him is just so he's got that BT that he just he has to be in there it is I love when this station talks about BT I mean he's got a he's so I mean look about look at the way that the region a New Orleans and Louisiana came around after Katrina came in the scenes came back it was Thursday night football three save football anymore absolutely no doubt about it and they were still there still times if you saw the commercial when they showed for I think was I came across your VCR what have you what sailor McAllister in the tunnel get ready go out in there high fiving each other you see that I get chills watching it because at that time they needed that the city needed that not only that it was just a perfect story yeah the the whole drew Brees story about how in free agency he flunked a physical yeah for Nick Saban's dolphins yeah and because of that Daunte Culpepper passed on him and how the Chargers said yeah we're gonna let drew Brees go and we're gonna take our chances in the draft instead and what drew Brees became he's had a very interesting career and I will say just because it's come up a few times I have interacted with drew Brees actually had an espy awards he lives up to everything you want to leave about him as a human being he really does sell before we go what is Tom Brady go my money is on Tennessee Tennessee added eight to one I won't say how much everything is going to help you put it you can I don't hello tracks of all of it about the XFL yeah the XFL has paid for the last trip to Vegas and already the next one that's booked and then some as art did you place any bets for the these games coming up this weekend you have any RT one on the first half with Seattle in their game in Houston okay because now betting the over unders gets a little sketchy because Vegas is caught up so I bet the first half spreads on some underdogs because it takes awhile for the favored team to get themselves in gear to cover the number and that happens in the second half do you bet baseball over under now now now I used to but I don't follow the sport as as much as I used to baseball lost me about eight to nine years ago okay as the Astros red Sox scandal seem to prove I haven't missed anything do you did you put in over under bet on how many times a Houston Astros players going to plant this year no but Jay Kornegay of the Westgate M. sharp sorry don't have the she actually has a prop bet which Astros player will be hit by a pitch first this season it was an actual prop bet at the Westgate it's got to be out of a radio if he wasn't a favor for some reason he was a tiny that's why is only five foot five have to hit it tough to hit yeah but even when he's got a buzzer of the horse positive the buzzer black it out Jeez that's great Todd thank you fifty five share it will I'm sorry for my smoking jacket Argus of actual guitar or something of some sort Chelsea yes my thank you for staying the whole time today of course and try to learn something what was that like you possibly learn from this well I don't know perfect answer Brian hobbies always thanks for holding on the controls Jericho and she's out there somewhere thank you and I'll real quick pull side caller not only is my son's birthday today he.

J. hill Jonah Jackson Austin Mack Jennifer could have been given Victor and she's showing no obviously Dobbins end chase young are gonna be best chase young is going to go you know I would imagine number two in the draft tomorrow after Berlin yeah burrows meeting with the the bangles this afternoon did earlier this afternoon but a lot of these guys I think have good shots it and making the pros whether their draft picks or whether they're signed is you know blow off season free agents I I really like this group I think Jeff could is going to go high Austin Mack and Binjimen Victor the only two that I have I guess question marks and not about their talent it's just awesome mac was you don't have a lot of injuries that hurt his career here at Ohio state a little bit and Benjamin Victor has been well there's been critics about his inconsistencies he can make the really tough catch and is able to run but then he can drop some of the the easy one so you know there was question about his effort a little bit last season as well and then get a whole lot of playing time so outside of that there's a loaded group that's going to be the combat and in Indianapolis the man who would you like to see go to Minnesota who are you guys you have a deficiency of the top of your head that you can think of he'll never will never again I'd love to chase you huh all day long and twice on Sunday but yeah I think so that would be your wish list if you had one he would be at the very top of it as well let me say one thing to you know Joe burrow was making fun of apparently somebody said his hands are too small yeah I saw that and he was saying you know all the life goes on I'm going to try to deal with the trauma or something but there is something to that and I remember what you brought up the Vikings Daunte Culpepper yeah that was the knock against him that his hands were too small and once once that was done a defensive backs and stuff found out when they came through and came down with that shop he coughed the ball up all the time and for as silly as that sounds bad that is a big deal because a lot of those guys can just palm that ball yeah if your hands aren't that big in those guys come through and they do that chop to me a lot of balls.

"I still get nervous when a quarterback takes off running the ball you never know what kind of team you're facing are you facing a team that has it in its head to not hit the quarterback so they pull up especially as the quarterback drift toward the sideline or are you facing a team where the head coaches said and or defensive coordinator he's running back go get him bill bell check I think tells the patriots he's a running back go get him Pete Carroll tells the Seahawks he's a running back go get him and Jerry and Connie did against the eagles I don't think dean pees it told the Titans he's a running back go get him that's the concern from homes you start running the ball too much you're running the risk that you're gonna get hit especially low one of the guys who came in hot but missed moms if that guy makes contact low and you're fair game once you take off running they can aim for your knees you can get Daunte Culpepper it wasn't tackle as he took off running in Carolina promising career over he had in two thousand four one of the best single season for any quarterback in league history two thousand five he's run the ball he gets hello torn ligament try factor he's done that's a concern and the other thing that I pointed out yesterday about my homes when you watch him behind the line he never settles into the pocket he's always moving is always adjusting he's always like ready to go he's ready to go he's ready for that that gate to open and he can go like he's constantly moving and he's what I think it does a practical matter it makes it harder for a defensive lineman to really get a lock on it that's going to be one of the big challenges in Super Bowl fifty four can the pass rush to get to him and then behind that will there be someone who can chase him down if he pops past the the first line of defense or will they be obsessed with stopping Tyree kill Travis Kelsey Sammy Watkins me call Hartman to Marcus Robinson any read also address the fact that they are trading in Kansas city where was in the teens on Sunday for South Florida he said they're ready to play in Miami areas they were gonna be okay that with him.

Y. Hilton was in the NFL draft he went obvious in my school I for you so I was like aw man the dolphins could just get him he's right here why would the government makes sense is right in the backyard and then he got drafted by the colts in Andrew looking like yep better better for him Johnny is B. "Know what's more impressive what he's done over his career what he's doing at this stage of his career and maybe that maybe that is the real story here is in the National Football League at the age of forty he's played nineteen years in the NFL you know I go back when he left the Chargers as a free agent any went to Miami any visited with Nick's semen in C. been wanted to sign him as a free agent and breeze wanted to play in Miami and freezer to make one more trip to New Orleans in one brief left Miami to go to New Orleans on this free agent circuit she even went to the doctors of the dolphins in so what do you think and they said the shoulder which was injured the year before is something I wouldn't trust an you're gonna put all this into drew Brees he date the doctors did not trust the shoulder but Sean Payton did in the same stared and of course this is right around Katrina and the rest is history it's it's an amazing amazing store the moral of the story is Miami is still looking for a quarterback they haven't found a quarterback since you know they chose Daunte Culpepper yeah I know right is are they sign a band called up but again I think it speaks again with Joshua was due in that interview with hub you know he was talking about the details and the professionalism and the the work ethic of drew Brees and I believe it all speaks to that even when he had that serious shoulder injury that work ethic to get back and become the guy that he's become the attention to detail from the technique to the understanding of the game to keeping himself in tremendous shape you mention is forty years old but I mean you would never know what when you're down there watching him in the way that he works in the condition that he's in I mean it all speaks to to the person that he is and then you could you could speak to the stuff that he's done off the field the way he's galvanized an entire community around Katrina in around this football team just phenomenal human being and a phenomenal football player in you know belongs everywhere he gets to go throughout the rest of his career because as we were saying earlier he's not done yet no no he's not talking about like okay set the record this my last year he still feels like he's got some time left it could be crazy where he ends up when it's when it's all said and done things and I wonder eleventh game and just to finish up at dolphin story since that decision the dolphins wouldn't sign on the Saint did the same winning percentage has been sixty one percent the dolphins have been forty two percent so I guess the moral of the story is don't trust what you do moral stories degrees is pretty good yeah I am he missed out on the opportunity to have a a game changing type player at the quarterback position never underestimate the heart of a champion Rudy Tomjanovich said at the NBA with the Houston Rockets they won the Superbowl in two thousand nine and maybe going together eleven three we'll talk about the records by the way and just as anchor also hoping to hear from drew Brees live in the locker room at his press conferences stay tuned for that time now for the dove men plus care facts of the game in there a lot of them that you're ready forms and there we kept going over more more people don't know I can't take anymore here they come research the career all time touchdown passing record tonight manning was at five thirty nine breeze beat him I go to five forty and eventually tonight to five forty one he threw four touchdown passes breeze tonight we had one in completion so we set the single game NFL record with a completion percentage of ninety six point seventy was twenty nine to thirty he also he and Kirk was talking before he had had a before he was twenty four twenty six and we always talk about like when I talk to young kids that that play high school football you say I played football long time and I've never played a perfect game never played a perfect game so obviously no quarterback has ever been perfect before but but just don't know what only nine of thirty is just a phenomenal record when you think about as you talked about that the toughest position in all sports mad about that is incredible what was a quote by one party about perfection anywhere you think about that but you drew Brees also has the highest single game completion percentage of all time this year with all time this year seventy five point eight a single season completion percentage all time this year seventy five twenty percent is this also the thirty sixth time and drew Brees his career there is at least four touchdown passes in a game now that's the most of all time that was previously held by Peyton manning and the saints have not lost consecutive games or watch remember her last week in what was a throwing forty eight forty six forty nine windy here in the dorm over the saints the saints have not lost consecutive games since weeks one and two of the two thousand seventeen season that is or to do at the longest active streak in the NFL forty four consecutive games in a row so those are some of the facts of the game but they're sponsored by our good friends at dub men plus care here's another fact your hair is different from your wife or your girlfriend here dove men plus care as products the fortified men chair and keep it strong and healthy try dubbed men plus care for stronger more resilient air available at Walmart Houston trying for perfection I mean that's that's that's what the weaker practices about that that's what you three list all that weight fours bill Parcells at you you try for perfection and even if you come a little bit short look at what happens in a guy like breeze tonight was almost perfect but what his career is established and and spoken so loudly about what he did again tonight here at the age of forty in the National Football League against a desperate team and the colts that were still alive until tonight flaws in the AFC playoff race they were taken on any flat team at all they were taken on a motivated team and then if they wanted handily thirty four to seven with four touchdown passes from breeds okay are we talking about the conference is it okay look at my boss earnings of doc what everyone thinks waiting for breeze Dallas whatever we want well not quite a nine iron I know you will talk about food what we were told that you've just got older okay so the okay so so now we've got she had a little Levin and three Green Bay eleven three in Orleans eleven and three in San Francisco is one of three so here is why the saints are where they are the number three in the in the rotation the number three as of tonight for fifteen weeks of the season the Seattle Seahawks of washed only to win a few games the Green Bay Packers of lost only two and a few games the sense of loss three so after you get by what you've done had they had all the other things you get to the third level the third level is what you've done the conference and that is why New Orleans is number three the point is is you've got fourteen with eleven wins there's not a whole lot separating these teams and all the records say that but I mean each is not perfect each has good quarterbacking end each could could make a run here with two weeks left in a portion of the month of January well it and each has a nice home field advantage yes the you know in that becomes so key when we get to this time of year I mean we saw what it was like in this building your they're putting up the Richter scale and how you know how loud it was in here and we all know the twelves up in Seattle I mean is a crazy place to play as well a B. Lambeau field you know what you're talking about January in that weather what kind of advantages that and so there are so many implications here with a couple weeks ago we got another game huge game between Minnesota in Green Bay next week San Francisco is playing against you know get Seattle down the street I mean so many big games yet to determine so much and I think home field advantage because there is a lot of balance and a lot of good teams in the NFC that could be the determining factor when it's all said and done on who ends up going to Miami I.

on a dirt in field is this Sunday when the chiefs returned to open because by the time the raiders are back baseball season will be over and it will be one hundred by fifty three yards of grass unless and until there's a point the future where somebody plays football game on a baseball infield I it's just a horrible look and it can't be save Chris it's amazing they've allowed this to last as long as it has it's not easy I I got a lot of experience in my years in Tampa because every other year we would play in Miami right now than that time the Marlins were playing in the dolphin stadium to where you had a plan one the the the the footing with your feet you know baseball players wear metal spikes that's what goes into the clay dirt NFL players there's not metal spikes to sometimes your your plastic spice in your cleats don't even day again so it can be slippery and you want to talk about like a rug burned and things like that falling on that dirt with the three hundred pound man on you you can get a lot of scrapes on your body that can make you uncomfortable for the rest of the week after playing on that surface all right well the human body verses the infield in Oakland one of the match ups that won't be critical to this weekend's games although who knows we're gonna draft the most important match ups heading into week two and I've got the trivia question for you Chris Jameis Winston the Buccaneers quarterback has lost twelve straight road starts man three quarterbacks this century have match that street or beaten it name one of them. twelve straight road starts okay lost law library quarterbacks this century okay have matched it I want to go with Orlovsky is one of them just because I know a lot they have a. dammit dammit dammit who is it that's a good that the I would guess Lossky too because he was the quarterback for the guy you got eight that year and he really is because surely what I got for somewhere else at some point but okay go ahead David Carr had twelve and thirteen and Daunte Culpepper had fourteen Hey James if you work really hard you can match and beat Dante Culpepper all right I get the first pick I am going to start with a match up that we have already discussed this program and I'm fascinated by this the bears offense of line verses the Denver Broncos pass rush von Miller Bradley job got nothing done last week no sacks for anyone on the Broncos defense and Vic Fangio the Broncos head coach knows the bears personnel knows the weaknesses knows the strength knows how to attack it can he put bodies on Mitchell who basically confuse him a rattle him mess him up with the pass rush the got nothing done on Monday night against the raiders to me that's the top match up of the week because the bears want to get on track they got to be able to fend off NGOs guys starting with von Miller and Bradley chop not doubling there's no doubt you know they're gonna have to run the ball we keep you know that pass rush honest that's a great thing that Jon Gruden did with the raiders the other night they ran the ball consistently to slow the defense down a little that way you got to have some short passing game involved in it to to get the body your hand that's certainly a big thing too so I'm with you I if I I had this in a better way then you'll just so I can crap on your pick a little bit I mean not navy verse Fangio was the match up in that game you blow that one but either way here we go okay my Hey it's still the same idea I know why do some more specific Fangio verses Nagy I got here I just want to win the draft that I'm doing the same thing you do to me every time I make a picture should should have a when I do what I do well go head okay I'm going I want to pick leg you know units or units to but the first thing because the most important match up a week till is. saints rand just the whole damn game I mean come on I I mean we're all going to be watching that there's hatred they're legitimately between those two teams the way it ended the last end of last year all the banter they had even before the NFC championship game so yes I'm then and they're both want to know and I know you didn't pick either one of these teams go to the playoffs I only pick the same to go to the playoffs but as we see it right now they're still the top two teams the NBC there were as in the NFC they're one and now and this could at playoff implications in a lot of other things on the line too so I just look at this game and go wow this is a pretty big marquee match up you know big time coaches quarterbacks a lot other stars in the field it's hard for me just to pass up the total scope of that football game yeah you stand this draft is the most important games in which to its most important match ups just to make sure we're clear it's a is that our is that not call them as a match up not a game I mean the saints are playing the that's that's the most important match up just I'm taking the whole teams on that one I shouldn't complain you're you're leaving other ones for me to take how about the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars more specifically yes de Andre Hopkins and Jaylen ram yeah and Ryan Z. Celo Hopkins down Hopkins was unstoppable on Monday night he feels like he has willed himself to a higher level Chris yes and I don't know the brand I don't know that anybody can handle the Andre Hopkins but this is a critical game for the Jaguars who own one the Texans who are in one it's in the division and I remember game a couple years ago where we all thought the taxes were pretty good in the Jaguars weren't the Jaguars wanted Houston destroyed them week one like forty four to six or something ridiculous like that so I I think this is a great game potentially and Hopkins verses Ramsey to me is the top batch I I'm with you there I had that written down I I was hoping you wouldn't come to that because I mean this is a huge match up first of all Neil de Andre Hopkins you're right he's. unreal and he's one of the few receivers and all football that can match Jaylen Ramsey's physicality of the line of scrimmage and that's is really one of the few guys of all by seen give Jaylen Ramsey an issue that way because Jaylen rams usually just overpowers people but such a big match up because to everything Houston does in the pass game is throw the de Andre Hopkins and that's all the Sean Watson looks at it sometimes or you just go please look somewhere else stop looking at the Andre so that will go a long way in determining that match up okay I think the next one I'm gonna go do was Freddie kitchens and Greg Williams the big Monday Night Football game what I just look at that the there there're there're match up of wits and knowledge of maybe each other and I just look at a course these are two teams were all in one and certainly kinda have high expectations and you go into when you're in deep crap but you know Freddie kitchens being on the offense the staff he should have a pretty good feel for Greg Williams defense in general from the things he saw in training camp in on for you know on film last year and then you know vice versa Hey I do think Freddie kitchens has the advantage you're a little bit because he knows Greg Williams defense a little bit better than Greg Williams at a face you Jackson in training camp and that's when you go against your team there but yes can Freddie kitchens handle all the different blitzes and pressures that Greg Williams can send on a on a play by play bases that can really cause a ton of disruption I mean that's what he's famous for and then within that too if I'm Greg Williams I worry about my corners one on one I mean Jermaine Johnson Darryl Roberts I don't like their ability one on one verse Landry and Odell Beckham junior I think that scary Greg lives out to worry about that too. yeah you know I like that one and that that game has a lot of tentacles like that there are those relationships that are on the line in the comparisons between Baker Mayfield and Sam Donald was an item for management in the New York Daily News about how Adam gase really wanted Baker Mayfield and didn't think all that highly of Sam Donald when gase was in Miami in twenty eighteen so interesting time to see all those guys all together again and in that same blender with the two head coaches presiding I'm gonna go head coach is also and I'm gonna go to Green Bay because we saw what Matt a floor did against Matt Nagy who only been coaching for one year what is the youngster going to do against the get off my lawn Mike Zimmer who has the resources in his building to understand what the map the floor offense is because he's got Gary Kubiak Parramatta for once upon a time was a quality control assistant for Gary Kubiak it all flows back to what the Vikings doing offensively I know Zimmer is very set in his system begin adapted and he already seems to have an understanding of what the floor is going to be doing can that Vikings defense keep the Packers offense in check and can love floor working with Mike Patton do the same thing to shut down an offense that the floor knows very well so I think the preparation for this one is going to be very important because the offenses are similar the coaches even though they don't have that direct link where one work for another or with another there's enough in the DNA between these two coaching staffs to make this one very intriguing from the standpoint of how similar offenses are and this is a huge week two game this one should not be a one PM eastern time kick off this feels bigger than that and the winner is going to be to a no and in pretty good shape heading into the latter stages of September yeah definitely and I mean yet Mike Zimmer a defense a head coach low floor an offense of head coach Luthor's off and certainly didn't like drop our draw our jaws last last Thursday we went wow this is on real so there's there's a lot of left on that bone as far as things we want to see in that will floor offense that should be a very interesting match up I'm with you they're not a bad one I my next what I'm gonna go to our game on Sunday night I think one of the most important match of this weekend the falcons offense a line verse the eagles defense online again the falcons office a lot I worry about it you know it didn't look good in the preseason you know just go back and watch the jets Redskins preseason games and not ride was under duress from the get go last week from the first play the game he was under pressure in the pass game you know and now they they lost limbs from their first round pick it right guard where he's out with a broken foot I believe so they're really under manned now the the eagles did lose Molly Jackson which things for them but this eagles the line is still ultra ultra talented and I guess what I'm saying is the falcons aligned they better show up this is an important match up because the eagles the line could rule in this game just the four down lime and by themselves and I think that's a very real possibility to where the falcons better have a good game plan do a lot of things that help out their offense aligned with screens wide receivers screens running the ball just things that on the slow down that defensive intensity and pass rush. yeah I had plenty of others on here that could have made the cut Kyler Murray versus oral Thomas will right yeah I mean sure thank you know that that because that did the blinds defense all due respect is not the ravens defense and the idea of oral Thomas in center field trying to figure out what color Murray's doing the football in trying to get to the football should be a fascinating matchup and also I did want to go back to the Jaguars Texans well right but do you really think the Texans offense of line is going to be able to handle the.

"Released eight which came out today. Veritas July sixteen twenty two thousand one Space Jam to everyone. The first one came out. How crazy was how much fun and wants to see a movie is as a child I was nine years old when that came out KADO so long ago. So how old are you? Jacob even remember that. I am twenty seven years old. I always forget you were so young. But dude, I definitely remember Space Jam I watched that so much growing up and to this day, I own it on DVD and VHS too many athletes that can pull off acting roles either. I mean convincingly convincingly you disagree with me on that. Because there's there's been movies ads have been really good there. There's some movies, I think most movies were athletes. Now, he got game was a great movie with athletes. Jesus shuttles. I wasn't that good though. Was a good movie. I did like he got game helps when the one of the greatest actors of all time is pulling you through his scene. Hey, denzel. Dribble academy. All of us. Look really good to see for sure you're not met Denzo. Once I did back in two thousand ten I was working for the L was the United football league. And they have the Sacramento mountain lions and they played at sac state. And I was the in game was the game entertainment, which means I was up with this other guy and we'd go round the stands giveaway prizes during timeouts between. We quarters. Daunte Culpepper was the quarterback and John David. Washington Denzel son was the running back for the Sacramento mountain lions. And so he was at the games he would be on the sidelines. And he's a he's a really nice guy. Get to interview him a couple of times John this was during the giants Rangers World Series. And I remember it was the Saturday. And I think it was the one game. The giants lost the Texas, and I was freaking out because I wanted to watch the game, but I had to work in on the sidelines, and there's Denzel maybe twenty feet away from me his Yankees had a dark jacket. I mean, he's intimidated look at it's Denzel freaking Washington. You kidding me? So during the quarter, I kind of drifted over drifted over his finally standing next to him. And I just extended my hand. I'm a big fan. He shook my hand gave me smile at those pearly white, and he was so nice. But I've never been why you gotta use. All this kind of language is what you some kind of. You don't make no mistake you'll be out here shooting. What you don't miss no shots ever ever? He's so brilliant. He's so brilliant. It was I had never met a celebrity in my life than intimidated me more than Denzel. It really was a good moment. He was a nice guy, very sweet person. But I was just so intimidated medium. He really he gives off that vibe Jacob, you know, what I mean being around, you know, being around this industry would meet to meet a lot of cool people. And usually that doesn't faze me where you gig out like that. But for Denzel. Yeah. That was that was intimidating for sure. He's big guy too. A lot better than I thought was a little bit taller than I thought. See? I'd imagine him with like, you know, the training do rag on leather jacket. Lonzo right? John David Washington sack sack kings, like whatever it is. The Sacramento mountain lions. Yes. Those are great times. There was all right. Italy is the number coming up next. We'll have a replay of the evening and happened earlier this afternoon on with Tom Tolbert and Marcus Thompson from the athletic, George Karl hopped on I want to hear what George had to say about this warriors team taken on the kings. They did beat one twenty five one twenty three. The final was a fistfight towards the bitter end very very tough Sacramento Kings team going forward. I'm very much ready for them to get the eight seed in the Western Conference so coming up next to a replay on the sports leader. With.
