"All right, well, let's go to Trey Lance, I'm really quick because this feels like a yes or no thing to me. The niners who I think just have a shitload of talent. You go through their team and they have to have a top four or 5 top to bottom roster. They figured out the debo situation. They were right there last year to get a little hunger chip under them, but the Lance thing is the big variable. Where you point in your flag on Lance. I'm not planning a flag on Trey Lance this year. I don't know enough yet because as much as everyone sees a deep pass in preseason to Danny gray and against the packers and you're like, oh, 86 yards are good. And you'd like to think, oh, well, if Kyle Shanahan and John lynch are willing to get rid of Jimmy, they must be all in. I also hear dispatches from practice that he is an accurate on some days and that the defense owned the offense on some days. What I will plant my flag in, they'll be in it to the end because of how good the rest of the team is. He just doesn't have, he can't be the reason they don't go. In other words, don't mess it up for us. It's year one, I think they have very high hopes for him moving forward, but for the first year, he's the full-time starter. Rely on the run game, rely on Trent Williams the best offensive tackle in football. Let Bosa and Armstead lead the way on defense. Let Freddie Warner do his thing. They are pound for pound, maybe the best roster in football. The question mark is that quarterback spot. And he can do it with his legs. We know he's got a big arm. much on his shoulders. So I would say, I'll plant my flag that the niners would be relevant and it will be a playoff team and all that. But I can not plant my flag that Trey Lance is going to be my homes in his first year as starter. I don't see that happening just yet. So we see it the same. I'm planning my flag on, they will figure out how to win with the things that he's good at and limit all the stuff that he's either inexperienced at or not good at yet. They will construct some sort of machine around him that he can't really hurt them and most of the stuff he does is additive. I do not think he's mahomes. I don't see a situation where like Trey Lance and his MVP odds went down on FanDuel. People were betting it. That's where I'm like, I'm out. That's not happening. But I think he could have games where, you know, they're just going to try to get him to lead. Put him on the offensive basically where you're always in like third and three third and four and teams aren't going to know if he's going to run left or right. Quick pass and stuff like that. But it's not going to be my homes. There's also some other departures that are important. So obviously Kyle Shanahan's the head coach and he'll be working with him. But Mike mcdaniel was very important on that offense. He's in Miami. Now, they don't have an offensive coordinator by title. But their quarterbacks coach, it's Brian Gracie, who is doing Monday Night Football last year. Has never called a game in his NFL career has never coached an NFL game. And that was the higher and now Shanahan had him and his father had him, and it was like we trust Brian to do this, but to me, first year quarterback, first year quarterback coach, there are other important guys in that offensive staff, whether it be rich scour umbrella, who's back at Kentucky or whether it be Wes Welker, who went to Miami. There was a lot of changes on that offense. It just seems like it's a lot. And it's a lot on Kyle Shanahan's shoulders to say, okay, first year starter, all these new coaches go out and replicate what you did. It'll take some time. I think they're going to be a lot better the second half of the season than they are the first half of the season. Well, and as great as trem Williams, as the offensive line is worse than it was last year. So it's not a real concern, but it's not there's not the same offensive line. So I'm okay with them. I have them as a playoff team. Let's stay with the NFC west for the next point your flag, even though he's now in the AFC west. Russell Wilson. Yeah. This is a great plant to flag. It is, you're either buying that the last couple of years where everyone else's fault and Pete Carroll's fall and Russ is going to have the eye of the Tiger on a new team. They're going to unleash him and javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon and he's got a couple of receivers that they did lose Tim Patrick. And it is going to be like when Manning went to Denver. Some quarterbacks have switched teams in that first year and it's just like, oh my God. Brady's Stafford. Pussy's not your lock. So I get all of that. I just think that the Wilson that we remember from the 1415 range is gone. And the reason I think that is because that's what the stats say, we've covered this a lot. Steven Ruiz has been on this for on the ringer and I thought, when he doesn't scramble, he's not the same guy. And he doesn't scramble anymore. As he's gotten older, he just doesn't move around the same way. So what do you get? You get this 5, ten pocket passer. Who doesn't make teams worry about his legs on the side? I don't think those last two years were an aberration. I just think that's who he is as a quarterback now. And I think he's going to be a little disappointing for Denver. I think people are still thinking of him as this franchise awesome QB and I just, I don't see it anymore with him. So I'm playing my flag on that. I'm looking around my Brooklyn apartment. Looking under all the Williams-Sonoma stuff we got for our wedding. I'm looking for a flag. I'm in on Wilson. I think this guy is lifting them up already. And. Planting the damn flag. I think Russ is going to be great this year. And Nathaniel Hackett is the new head coach. This guy is brimming with energy and he's the anti Vic Fangio who's a great defensive coach.

"So I've said this before, I think all things considered the talent, the skill set, the position, the positional value, the way the position stacked, the other players of the position throughout the draft. Pound for pound, I think, quay walker is the best pick they could make in the draft if they can get him at 50. He's a good player. And I don't know that they can. For the other linebackers in the class. For what they need at linebacker. What do you bring to the table? All of that. He would be great. I love these first three picks, really. I do. I'm trying to tell if they add any future assets here. I can't put all moving around. He'll walk or bath as your defense is better. Those are three day one starters. I like Jalen amore Davis too as a potential upside corner on the outside and then we've talked about this. What much rather amor Davis and cordell flood? What much great, bigger green? And then a little fancy at the end, a little styling at the end with Connor Hayward and Jordan stout. It's a good polls, but players that the Patriots would like, this person has some research. This was well done. Did their homework? Yeah, this is a good one. I agree. Jalen armor Davis, long athletic head kind of a bumpy road at Alabama, but somebody wants season. Yeah, but somebody that I think is really, really high upside. The one thing that I would say about this draft and macro mentioned the age of the draft prospects, a lot of older guys, because of COVID, because it's just a wonky three or four year run for a lot of these dudes, like a lot of guys don't haven't played a lot of football, a lot of guys are older. It's just a weird, everybody's got something, right? Like everybody's either 25 year old rookie, Andrew bridge junior's only played 15 games in college, like there's always a little bit of something like that with a lot of these guys. In this class. It just seems like everybody's got just something going on with how many years they played or whatever. Jaylen on more Davis is another one of those guys I really like him. All right, one more, oh, well we got, okay, Jermaine Johnson's not making it there. I just don't think he's making it to 21. We talked about Danny gray. Tariq and Troy Andrews this is a good mock if it happens. I don't think it happens. I think it's a great mock of it happens. Here's the one I wanted to pull up a tire elam. Troy Anderson. Finally, somebody knows where to take.

"That helped him that built some production, but that element of his game is still growing. If this was a Pittsburgh Steelers podcast, I would be pounding the table for taekwondo because I think he's the guy that has a ton of uncoachable and he just needs to learn the technique. Now, Susan steals podcast. It's patriots. Right, because we know what the Steelers do with receivers. Any risk here they touch turns to gold. Not as much the case in New England. They don't necessarily have a dedicated wide receivers coach. So I like Thornton the player. I think if he goes to the right team, he could potentially be like a contributing number three, maybe even a low level number two receiver. I just don't think New England is the team where that happens. Yeah, like I think it's upsides marques valve is scanned like I really do. That's actually a good point. Yeah, I think that that sort of is upside, but the Patriots in this offense, like do they really need that guy and how do they develop that guy and get rid of them? Right. I don't know, it's too great for me. All right, speaking of good segue, Danny Graham. I love Danny gray. I think I've talked about him a little bit. I wish we talked about it more though, so I can talk about him now. Danny Graham from SMU really, really fun prospect. Also a low four threes guy can absolutely fly. What do you think of him for the Patriots? He seems to me like the perfect pivot for New England, where everybody's talking about mechi and more and all these other big name receivers in the Patriots give you Danny gray in the fourth round. That just feels so New England and feels so Bill Belichick. Yeah, I mean, the thing I like about him again, he's going to give you something after the catch. I mean, that's his whole game. That's what this whole game begins. I don't know that he's a guy who's necessarily going to win in the route as much as he is after the catch. So I still like matching better. They're still guys. I have ranked ahead of him, but like you said, here's this guy smaller school. You know, he's kind of gotten buried because there's a ton of prospects in the class that fit this mold and they would go and grab them. So yeah, I mean, I wouldn't be mad if they take them. I think there's other players like him that I'd rather have, but you can't necessarily grab everybody and I think if they walk away with Danny gray, is there wide receiver edition. It's not a word. It's hardly a worst case scenario. Yeah, you go turn on that tab against TCU and he's just taking slants like 60 yards to the house against the secondary that's got some NFL players. He does have some flashes of route running, but that explosiveness when he gets the ball in his hands..

"Kevin? I think so. I think they'll get probably one in the draft and then you're gonna see them target some guys undrafted. You reference sky more. The comp for him in my mind is Golden Tate. Really good. Yeah. I think he broke more tackles last year than any wide receiver. And the kids like 5 9. So he plays really strong just like just like golden did. And the deeper wide receiver or deep draught wide receiver that could develop that I like on day three. You reference Bill Melton from Rutgers. I do like bull. I also like Danny gray from SMU. And he's a guy I think that people should keep an eye on. My binky, you know, there's three or four guys that I really like for them. You know, as a priority free agent, as you know, I referenced them before the rose bowl, print and covey. He just, he's like a patriots wide receiver that they absolutely will. Hopefully he agrees to decide. But he had over 2000 career return yards was 5 time all pack 12. His problem is he's 5 8 one 70. He's smaller than me, right? Me walking out of NFL field. Hopefully I survived a hit, right? And so, you know, I think that Britain is he had a lot of kicks too. I think that's exactly right. That's what I was just going to go with. He replaces gunner if they don't replace anybody else with the draft that has that return experience. When I watched him, I just kept thinking that's Braxton barrios. Interesting. Okay, let's finish up here. I don't really think we need to get into the tight ends and you just wrote them up the other day. You have the local kid. I say a likely from coastal Carolina. You know, let's go with your running backs with past catching upside. Guys that they might see as a replacement for James White. Yeah, so this 5 guys that I like. I'll kind of leave it there. The first guy I think that goes off the board is James cook from Georgia. He split time with Zeus white, who I also like from Georgia, who is deaf early down back..

"Lucky enough. The only wide receiver that I am really all in on on day two at this point is John metchie. I love Alec pierce from Cincinnati. I think that that would be a great pick also, but he's a true ex and then you have to kind of start talking about what you're doing with Devante Parker on the roster, right? If you got a guy like pierce behind him and that type of stuff, to me, I think that the one guy that I could really get behind on day two is matchy just because of the play style, the Mac Jones, obviously chemistry there and stuff like that. That one I can get with other than that. I mean, I mentioned Danny gray earlier from SMU, villas Jones, bow melt. I don't sky more. Sky more I love too bad, just don't know how are they going to get sky more? Like he's going to go straight down. Yeah, I mean, he's going to go early 30s. He's exactly the kind of guy that they need to add. Yeah, I love sky more. I think that I would love to draft sky more. But I just don't know where a sky more. How are they going to get sky more without taking him with their first pick? That's the thing. If they trade down from 21 and they get sky more act like 33, 34 or whatever they trip with the Lions and they get 30 four from Detroit. It takes time. They could also go up. If you falls a little bit, they can move up like they did with barmore. I suppose. I don't know. I don't think he's been falling much. I just don't. I think at the end of the first round, you have Green Bay. You have Kansas City. Those teams are taking wide receivers. So you're going to start to see some of these wide receivers go. If they can find a way to finagle it, they can get their hands on sky more than I'm all for it. I don't know if they'll have the optics of being able to do that. I also don't know if they would want to take a wide receiver with their top pick in the draft, right? That's the difference. Calvin Austin, no thank you. He's like 5 8. Good athlete. Obviously, but I think villa's Jones is everything that Calvin Austin is, but he's much bigger than taban Austin. So I don't know. I like Christian Watson. I've always liked Christian Watson. Like I said, I like Alec pierce. I don't know..

"I'm really, I'm very high on all three of those receivers. And I think those guys can bow melt in villas Jones, Danny gray can all contribute to the Patriots. I think Danny gray has a real potential to be a starting wide receiver. I think villa's Jones and Bo Melton are more Isaiah McKenzie's, right? Gadget players return guys. Things like that. But I think a guy like Danny gray could be a complete receiver for them. I don't know, I just, I think we got lucky that the fact that guys are still here. So if we are picking here, I think it's V list Jones. Well, I think it's we've picked him like ten times. So yeah. I think we can pick villa's Jones here. Like I said, I would sleep on Danny grey. I think he's got potential, but feels Jones here makes a lot of sense too. So here's what we're going to do. We're going to take velas junks here. We're both going to get what we want. We're going to take V list Jones there. For what it's worth. Okay, Bo Melton went, we wouldn't have gotten them. We're moved down from here though. We're going to find a team that has two picks. We're going to trade with the rams. I think you agree. Is that mister relevant? I think you just are making the making this trade back so you can take matter rise somewhere. Off the board. At this point, he falls under the simulator fucked up rule. Okay. At this point, at this point, we can't take him. We didn't take him one 70. We're not taking him. I'm going to move back 8 spots because I want to make at least 8 picks because that's what the Patriots do. We're trying to emulate what they do. Who did we pass on? Christopher Allen's really the one player in that list. I guess Josh Thompson that kind of stands out. But now we have a 7th round or two. Right. So now we have a 6 and a 7. So I guess here, we're kind of looking at BPA, right? Again, a rise of falls under that he's not going to be here. He's not falling to it now. If you want to talk about taking Jordan stout here,.

"He's a fit. Son of a knight's an interesting player too. He was back to back all ACC as a kick returner. He was one of the best returners in college football. Yeah, Brian Robinson, I think, gives you a little bit more girth though, right? Like he's got a little bit more between the tackles about him. Like, I think he's better. And much higher upside than like Rex burkhead, but like you're thinking about that kind of mold, right? Somebody that takes one, yeah, so 6 one, two 25. We talk about patriots backs in one of two classes, right? We talk about them as the early down back, legarrette blunt, Antoine Smith, write that sort of molds, Corey Dillon, or we talk about the past catching backs. James White, Danny woodhead, Kevin faulk. There's a few that kind of can do both. Rex Burke had to me as the chief example, I think Ramon Dre Stevenson could be that kind of guy, Brian Robinson's absolutely that kind of guy too. Brian Robinson, I think if he's still here, they are popping champagne in the draft room. If they take him at one 27. All right. Thank you. All right. I like it. We do need to get a wide receiver at some point, but I do like it. Do you need to get a wide receiver? Let's see what the board looks like at one 70. It might be time to trade down again in all honesty. So why do I have a feeling that all the good wide receivers are now gone? Nope, Bo Melton, Danny gray villas Jones all still here. So I don't think Danny gray is making it here. Here in a four three three in the 40 yard dash and he's got really good take that SMU. I think he's gonna be a fourth round pick. I like villas Jones a ton for them too. Maybe a little bit thicker and his build is a little bit sturdier than bow Melton, right? He's not quite as small as Bo Melton is. And he also adds that return capability. I think if you're gonna draft a wide receiver, unless they're going at the top of the draft and they're trying to get their number one guy. If they're going to go in the middle rounds a wide receiver where the guys got to be able to return..

"I like him a lot. That's why I'm advocating for it here. I think we just saw Ryan. We saw a harem. We've sought for like those are the other guys that I think are day one Ryan. I think would be a great pick if he had made it to 95. Those are the day one starters on eckhart for the Patriots. And Kodak, he's probably the last of that bunch. Not Chris Paul, not Zach Tom. Day one, I think Zach Tom could maybe start at guard. Okay. I just like to flexibility a little bit more. Okay, that's fair. That's fair. And look, they're going to put a premium on that. They're going to say, well, this guy might be slightly better in year one, but this guy's potentially tackling here too. They're going to like the guys potentially tackle in year two. So we'll take a decade. Again, they only drafted three linemen in the top 100 in the last ten years. Isaiah win, Joe toony, and Antonio Garcia. Those are the only three. So this is a little bit of a trend. But you're right. The coaching staff is different. I think that's a good reason to kind of give you that trend. Garcia, man. He could have just left that one out. What? He didn't have to mention Garcia. I mean, he got sick. That wasn't on them, all right? I'm going to take a decade and then we're going to let it run to one 27. And see what the board looks like because I would not be opposed to trading down again. So we can move down ten spots. Should we just quickly recap the top 100? Because now we're yeah, I'm going to kind of scour the board real quick. You go, oh, yeah, okay, you go ahead and do that. We've got some very interesting choices. I don't know. It's holding up. But top 100, very top of the giraffe, easy, didn't really take as much time to figure this one out. Jordan Davis, first round, that's the top of the draft for the Patriots. We love it for so many reasons. Martin Emerson in the second round, really solid underrated cornerback prospect in this draft long athletic outside corner physical guy plays a lot of zone, play some Manuel to Brian awesome law. You're looking for speed at linebacker. We got it. Four, 5, 6 and the 40 yard dash. Undersized linebacker, but now you have a guy like Jordan Davis in front of him to keep him clean. He's someone that flies the football. We like that. Luke Hideki from central Michigan. I think a day one starter at guard could also probably play tackle. Flexible player, but I think we've been looking for that starting guard and good deck he checks that box. So we got Jordan Davis day one impact star in my opinion. Martin Emerson, maybe it takes a little bit to develop in The Rookie season, but I think he's going to eventually be a starting corner for the Patriots. Awesome. I think it could be a special team or early and then potentially contribute later on in the year or next year. And Gaddafi day one starter. So we got at least two day one starters here, I think. Yeah, I agree. And we're going to get potentially another one here. The board, the board, it loves us in this one, Evan. The board's been friendly tonight. So let's run through some positions here. Wide receiver, I still think we wait, we can reach on mountain, but I still think we waited Danny Greenville to Danny Green go. He went. I just saw Danny Graham. Danny gray, yeah. Interesting. So villas Jones and Danny gray are both still on the board. I love both of those guys for the page..
