And i say everything's gonna run smoothly and then first things first. I leave my fan on and you have to arrange the first five minutes but we did have an interesting conversation about weed dispensaries. But i guess we'll have to save that for another day did used. Maybe we should just get directly into the topic. Sure let's do it all right so today we're going to be talking about the cold war I know what a what a transition. It's i don't know the best with segue into this or or how to bleed into this but i personally been wanting to talk about the cold war for a while I think there's a lot of parallels between the cold war now and I miss been one of my main interest as of late as far as what i've been reading about and what i've been looking into so Today's episode will be the origins of the cold war. That sound good danny. yup. I'm down. And i want to just kind of preface this so before world war two so before the federal government started. Deducting your income tax from your paycheck. The united states did not have a permanent arms industry. After every major war the us would eventually mobilize right So if you look at charge of abuse military expenditures as shariff gdp. You'll see spending spikes during the years of eighteen sixty one the eighteen sixty five so the civil war and nineteen seventeen a ninety two to nineteen nineteen world war one. So you gotta look at these. You can find these charts spending throughout the entire country's history But they're really interesting to see those spikes during four years. But then a all the the the x. Axis line drops all the way down and you see the other great powers of the world like germany. Russia france uk Outspending the united states in military spending Example the civil war. The us went from over a million soldiers to two hundred thousand soldiers by october twentieth Eighteen sixty five and the same thing during world war one. Why because they all died. No well so the. Us army went somewhere around. One hundred forty thousand soldiers right before the war to over four million a year however by the nineteen thirties. That number dropped back down to around one hundred forty thousand again so live from one hundred. Forty thousand yeah. "Cause the cause you to lose your life. That's a good one. That as inconvenient as garbage pile up, could beat. That's actually a pretty good one. There that is. Hi, Jerry. Go ahead. Jerry West. Alice. What? You got appliance repair technician. Without us. You couldn't keep your food called. You couldn't heat your food and you definitely cannot clean your clothes. And unfortunately, most people don't call us until something starts smelling and it takes a few days to get someone like me to come out and fix it for you. So it makes your whole house reek until you can get me through the door. Yeah. So you're saying like broken fridge? Broken washing machine. Exactly Yes. Do people still call you Could you could do people still call you, Jerry? I did. This is a heard somebody debating the other day. Do you get a new one of something? I think it was Stephen Jean this morning. Do you get a new one of something? Or do you call and have something repaired? I feel like fewer and fewer people. Jerry called to have an appliance repaired now and they're just bad. Its life span is over. Let's get a new one. It all has to do with what type of applying to buy. You go out you by, uh, like Steve Graffiti said. I believe this morning went out spent $3000 on a fridge. Most of the parts in there are 6 to $700 each. It's going to almost be and marks, Uh, expensive to send me out to see if you're going and you're by in the lower end stuff still has the editors and and, um, the stuff that they've been making for 30 years. It's a lot cheaper to have me come out, but and 100 $150 to keep an $800 piece of equipment running than it is to now have to replace that for 8 $9000. I remember. My grandparents. When they're vacuum broke, they would go and get their vacuum like I I vividly remember going with them to like the vacuum shop or something like that, and they brought it and dropped it off, and then they'd pick up the vacuum at the end of the week. And it would have a new belt placed in it or something like that. Or a sewing machine. I mean, I remember going with with them, and the sewing machine is broken. You got to go and take it. I'd be curious on how many people still do That versus you know, just get a new one. Jerry. I'm glad that you're still getting calls, and you're still thriving in this modern age where people just that is buy a new one. Money is no object. Danny's in West Alice. Hi, Danny. Hey, how you doing? What you got? Give me something on par with trash collection, would you please Well, okay. I can't do that. I got to agree with, you know, every caller definitely right. Woman nobody ever thinks about its musicians. Musician the region. Yes, The reason I say the reason I say for a couple of reasons now one, you know, there's always a stereotypical idea of what a musician is, You know, and they have 1000 jokes. You know that. We came to that one of my favorites was always the different between a musician and a mutual fund. Is that a musician or a mutual bundle eventually mature and make some money, but I'm bump Okay, Danny, Hang on. Hang on, Danny. Now, hang on. Hang on. You're telling me That a musician is as valuable As trash collectors. When they're not doing their job. Aesthetically. Yes. The reason I say that is because, okay? It was especially notable during Colbert that everybody was complaining about how they couldn't go anywhere and so on and so forth, and when trying to open up and I was able to get back to work. Um I don't know how many hundreds of people would come up to me. Just be like, Oh, it's so great to have live music back. No, sure. You know, we really missed it, You know. So like I said, is it Danny, Danny, Danny, Danny. Look I do radio I love radio. I enjoy doing this as a profession as a career. But this is not as important as trash collection. I'll never say it is okay, but like I said, Hold on, hold on. Hold on. Hold on, but musicians God bless musicians. Musicians are not as important to society is trash collection. Of course not. Okay. Like I said, I never thought it would be like like, isn't aesthetic point. Okay, Alright. Thank okay, Danny. Thank you. I just I All right. Just a couple more. Then we'll move on. I promise. Dan is in Wales. Hello, Dan. How you doing? All right, Give me a profession. One quick thing. Sanitation technician. Oh, Okay. Sanitation Engineer. I also got There you go. There you go. Very good. Anyway, My point is People that are AIDS assistance in nursing homes and assisted living care. Kate wants to McDonald's turnover probably greater than McDonald's. With the responsibility for your loved ones lives and horribly underpaid under respected. Very, very tough position to be in And you do not realize most people don't realize that until They have a loved one in an assisted living center or something where they are. They are, you know, at the mercy of those men and women around them those care. Givers that that's a pretty good one, too. Then nobody thinks of that profession until they're in their worst moment. But up until that point, their loved ones who had been on their own in many cases are solely or in large part dependent upon those men and women. That are walking those halls doing some of those jobs, which are very unpleasant in a lot of ways, and a lot of other people wouldn't want to do it's contingent upon those men and women take. I'm always impressed by caregivers because You need to How can I say this? There's a There. There is a deep, uh, a feeling of commitment and love in a certain sense to what they do, and the purpose for why they're doing it. I've seen it myself. Unfortunately, you are correct. There's some really great angels out there. And there's some that aren't just like anything else. Yeah, right, but overall, underpaid under respected. It's a shame. Thank you, Dan. Appreciate it. That's a good note on which to end. Um, because, Yeah. That's a good one. And I think a lot of us so a lot of you out there know exactly the value of caregivers. All right? Not bad. Not bad. I appreciate it. What am I going to do about this recycling situation like complex? I don't know. I'll keep you posted, though. If you care to learn about how it plans I've called three times like I've called for weeks. Kyle, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. That's a separate issue, although somebody did bring up the text line landlords Or building supervisors because nobody ever says Thank you. They just come to us when they have something to gripe about. Um, I guess I would be exhibit A in that respect. Don't go anywhere. Jeff Wagner is back right after this locally.

It was one March, 2019 pics. Yeah. Anyway, we did, we did. Yeah, yeah. And everything still holding onto a lot of that. They've let certain guys go. We talked about the Cantor Thursday. That's a bit of a spinning of the wheel there where they had, um, they dumped them, they dumped Thompson afterwards price away for nothing. The guy signing for your deals now, you know, like yeah wage because of the tax and again, that's the restraint that we have to talk more and more about ownerships seeming a version of the tax here. Yeah. The last couple of years there in it now but they're really not in and was that the biggest loss in fact, that this offseason, in terms of coming in there in an as of now. But I'm sure they can find a way to not. They might. Yeah, you might bump out a Fernando and bring in. Yeah, mon like 900,000. That's what I thought worries. Me is like you trade. Like, you know, you start giving away. Who knows what, you know, like, you know, it could be you just you throw. And again, we're not saying is the end-all-be-all but, you know, they just throw Romeo in on a deal because they want to shed the 5 million there. It's just like it's fine. You're not expecting this guy to be Jaylen brown or Jayson Tatum, but it's just like, you're just shedding things along the way, just just with that be like, done saving a buck or two, you know, here's how argument for long as we look at possible smart extension coming in here. Is that maybe you eat that first big salary, you're not quite contending for a championship this year, but whatever you put in the place next year, via sign-and-trade or whatever rate, maybe you can include fornia in that maybe for when you could still be here after that as part of a veal core, whatever they're going to do here cuz let's face it, you may love him, you may hate somebody's, an NBA starting at 6. Don't have a lot of those on their roster here and they've as they've been siphoning town and I thought he fit really well with the Jays hate him in particular and I fall shoot her. If there's some way after nine eleven restaurants started having the the nine eleven tack. No no i mean we cannot live. We cannot think that they can sustain if they used to have hundreds of people. "I think just post scarlet and so it's like phoenix is heartbroken. I really liked it. Because i actually. It's a completely extended music video. It's really neat. Because it matches to me this kind of idea of you know how you can have themed album. So the album will kind of tell a story throughout the entire all the songs and i feel like that's very popular with i e mo punk music and like it doesn't i don't really think the music themselves like tells the story but because of the way they did the music video like this and i think machine gun kelly have weird like cut between him and then the plot it's very reminiscent of like early two thousands pop punk music videos. Because i feel like if you look a lot of blink one eighty to one. It'll be like them playing. And you know like. I was thinking of simple plan with the. Yes exactly simple. The oh my god amazing. This that energy or like good charlotte. This idea where they're kind of in the theme but they're kind of out of it as well they're kind of a narrator and so it's in and out in and out yeah. I was quite amused with it. My best friend was here last week. And she watch it with us and she had bailey. Didn't seems amused. I was like. I haven't i like this. I i did machine gun kelly. It was forty five minutes. Have gotten to look at him. All like really attractive rowdy boy. I wanted him ready. Boys kinsey also was illuminating. The concept of girls getting fridge in in case you guys haven't heard of this concept. It apparently came about in the green lantern rate is when the other green lanterns hong xia and concepts that a woman love interest or figure is killed off at the beginning of a story movie comic and then her death is used as character development for the male and the complete plot propulsion. Like it's the reason why they kind of go on their figurative choir hero's quest yes so this. This was very guilty of this they fridge. Sydney sweeney's character so fucking fast. She didn't even know what hit her. She had freezer burge. She was manic pixie. Dream girl that they're like we gotta get more than one trope in only forty five minutes. What's up, Danny? Hey, J D you do not great job, bro. Thanks, man. You're applying common sense and you're playing law. Um That's five bite and goes, man. I'm Hey, Danny. Can I ask you something? If I may? Can I ask you something? Go ahead, Brian. You're like, Fuck. Yeah, well, I'm a talk show host. It's part of my job, So I apologize. I apologize. If you don't like me talking. So, Danny Where am I not applied Logic to an opinion, especially when it comes to the common virus. Okay, So, Danny, Danny, I'm sorry you had the virus. Also. I'm asking you a question when it comes to the coronavirus wherever I not applied logic you said JD applies logic wherever I not Okay, So answer my question. Then what have I ever said about the coronavirus that does not apply logic. When you blame one person, Danny, Danny, Danny, I never blamed one person. You are either not telling the truth or you just don't listen. Here's what I've said Danny, I want you to Daddy. Danny. Here's the problem. Danny. Danny, the problem is you don't listen. I never blamed one person. I want you to listen for the next 30 seconds. If that's if you're capable of doing so I start by blank China and the people that created this virus. They created this virus. I also blame Donald Trump for the response to the virus and everybody else underneath him. This was a failure of our government. Donald Trump, leader of the free world, What part of that, Danny, do you not agree with? And what part of that I might not applying logic to please answer the question. You blame one person. Okay, Danny. Have a nice day. Danny. Danny, Danny. I just answered you, and I just did not blame one person. Let's go to Glenn. Glenn is next on the fake Is that some believe all people aren't capable. Listening. Hi, Glenn. What's on your mind? What's a five organs for you? J. D. Man, woman person camera TV. That's what that's what John just said. I'm just kidding. Remember that? Okay? I don't know what's going on gun. It's rich that you're talking about buying his cognitive decline. Boy had to be briefed with pictures and say, to put his name in the briefings. Just to hold his attention span, which, like that of a full again? I think I think it's interesting. I'm just talking about Joe Biden. Right? I'm talking about the present. I'm talking about the president of the United States and you guys and I'm constantly accused of what about his men and you do the exact same thing to prove a point, which is crazy. Well, I haven't accused you of that. Which, of course you did. You just mentioned the admission of Donald Trump had to be hard to get pictures to see his briefings in. That's that's exactly what you're doing instead of just staying. Where were the conversations about Joe Biden? He's the president of states. Correct, And I'm saying that based on what I've seen on Joe Biden again, I'm not amount of Dr on Mom's side College never said that I have been, but I've seen people are calling the decline. Of course, my lifetime people that other doctors have diagnosed as having issues and I see the exact same thing with Joe Biden. But apparently I can't do that. Because I don't have a degree apparent. I can't make statements about that. Because because I'm not. I'm not a chief neurologist. I'm not a brain, doctor. I'm not a heart, doctor. I'm not a doctor. Just not you have zero. Medical expertise is a problem. That is a problem that that people like plenty of people like you, Brian. And people like Mark can say that. So let me respond. No right to respond. Because grandpa respond. Okay. First of all, that's not the reason why we're in America, JD. First of all, that's not what I said. I'm gonna repeat it for 1/4 time. You're entitled to your opinion. But just like when it comes to the coronavirus, I don't value your opinion anywhere. Even close to the spectrum as I would somebody that gives Joe Biden physicals. Ah, doctor, somebody with some sort of medical expertise. I never said you're not entitled to that opinion, which I could not disagree with. Maura. A lot of times people think about aliens are extraterrestrial agents. Or being, but when I think about aliens, I think about demon, Okay, but natural that's fascinating. Yeah, Uh, that's the thing I know. You'll be sarcastic, but no, I think you're extremely intelligent and very fascinating. So, with that being said, sir, please give me a legitimate reason why you haven't paid up on your bet. I'm gonna give you one more opportunity to answer Honestly. Is my Bitcoin crash. Okay? Yeah, I'm sure that's true. Brady. Have a nice day. Is Carl there? Let's go to Karl. Carlos. Next on the Vegas Take. Hi, Carl. Carl. I do not want a lesson from you. I did not. I do not want a free session for me. I wasn't gonna talk about Rittenhouse. His name is Yeah, but the poor kid is gonna need a lot of evaluations and counseling later on. He's a dangerous young man. He seems to like killing Yeah. And if they let him go, he's going to become extremely dangerous. Carl, I agree with you this if I was on the ground, and I had a gun, and so that someone was walking towards me going back the right hand, I would shoot them first. Okay, I'm sure you'll be able to confirm I'm sure you'd be in a black lives matter rally and I'm sure your mom would have dropped you off on this. Another rally. It was. Thank you for the cup was a right. So that was a ride. Okay, that was a running start. I don't even want to. Absolutely right. I don't even want to get into that debate with you. If it wasn't right. Frankly, if I get in a riot, Frankly, if I get into a discussion with you like we're getting into right now, about how you think of black lives matter Protests The entire protest was a riot that I just don't want to do that. I would like to get another things right outside the college humor shot That guy right to God. I don't want to talk about Okay again. I don't want to talk about that. We've talked about his behavior the last couple days, not what took place months ago, which we've talked about ad nauseam. I do want to talk about this because it's actually funny. I think anybody with sense of humor would find this funny, but Chuck Schumer did a press conference in New York and during this press conference. Woman just went off the rails. Screaming and yelling. We had to bleep out some of the words Keep in mind. She's 3 ft. Away from Chuck Schumer, literally 3 ft. So I want you to hear the start of this press conference and then some of the things that this woman says Go ahead,.
