"To me. That the Democrats managed to win votes. When most of their language Is about hating the very people of this country. This theme is consistent. When a crime wave across the country. Carried off carried out By violent people in the inner cities. Who vote Democrat Democrat run cities with a Democrat mayor and a Democrat, police chief and and now Democrat county judges and Democrat courts and Democrat district attorneys. And policies that when these guys are caught their release, they're not prosecuted. And the answer is to go after you. The honourable people who keep a pistol to protect yourself. To keep a rifle to protect your family and your property. But that's the answer. Right? You're the enemy. Joe Biden yesterday. Using the language of war. Listen to this comment. The second Amendment from the day it was passed limited. The type of people could own a gun. What type of weapon you could own. You couldn't buy canon, those who say the blood of the the blood of Patriots, you know, and all this stuff about how we're going to have to move against the government. While the tree of Liberty is not water in the blood of Patriots, What's happened is that they're never been if you wanted to think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need 15. Maybe some nuclear weapons. The point is that has always been the ability to limit rationally limit the type of weapon that can be on and who can own it. Even the very liberal Politifact. Says. That's a flat out lie. Politifact points out that Biden quote did not offer evidence to support his statement, and historians of the period are dubious. Laws against private canon ownership even existed. There are documented instances of privateers or privately owned vessels that legally attacked enemy ships during wartime setting sail with cannons. During the period. End quote. But it speaks to a theme. Consistent theme and pattern. And that is Democrat policies designed to regulate the lives of law abiding citizens. While the practices of their agents encourage those who create chaos and disorder and crime. Encourage them to do it, spur them to do it, incite them to do it and when they do Don't punish them. That's what we're dealing with. The people who were at the Capitol on January 6th. Who have been jailed without charges being brought. It's a core tenet of Anglo American jurisprudence is you don't just throw somebody in a jail without charging them without giving them an opportunity to begin making their case. That's a detention. That's a house arrest. That's I'm not going to let myself get angry. But what we're witnessing Is a violation of every constitutional principle we hold dear. This isn't just a culture war. This isn't just a disagreement. These are violations of our very by laws by which we operate. Which we live in. When you can get away with doing this, you can get away with anything. Later in the show. We will talk to Stephen Gutowski of the reload dot com He just wrote a piece that that reviewed the the sales data for the month of May. And 1.3 million guns were purchased in this country in May alone. 1.3 million. 8.5 million background checks for firearms purchases already This year. Outpacing last year's 8.1. What we're seeing is not only more guns being bought. But you're seeing that spread across a broader group of people. My friends in Houston own a place called collectors. Firearms dot com. And I will go over and visit the owners. Mike Clark, who's owned the shop for probably 35 years, and Danny Clark, his nephew, who's a little younger than me. And who will always be invited back to my poker parties because he was the biggest loser at the last one even more than me. I lost the second most. He lost the most. So he's welcome to come back anytime. But my friends Danny and Mike Clark collectors. Firearms is the biggest gun shop in Houston, one of the biggest, I'm sure in the country and I'll go over there and visit and what I've noticed over the last year, especially But the last few years As I'll walk around and look at who is in the gun shop. And increasingly, it is women. Increasingly, it is people that I didn't expect. Would be gun owners. You know my buddies. Who wear a civil war looking beard down to their fat belly. Bald on top, So they were a long beard to come and say, Like Ramon, you expect to see people looking like Ramon. At the gun store. At least I do. You expect guys who are in boots and jeans in a big jacked up Trump or Dooley? That's who you expected. That's who over the years I would see at the gun store. That's my people. But I'm seeing women. And I'm seeing young women. Early twenties, and I'm seeing older women. And when you watch the questions they're asking. They're asking the questions of a first time buyer. Hey, Um, sometimes they disclose I've never owned a gun before. But sometimes they say, what kind of gun should I buy for personal protection? Well for your home or your purse or your vehicle or your person. And they'll say, Well, I hadn't thought about that. Okay, that's clearly the first time gun owner You're seeing more and more of this. So So imagine the paradox of what's going on. The people who were committing murders. In the major urban communities are Democrats. We know this There's over a 90% likelihood. That they're Democrats. This is how they vote. They also live in areas that vote Democrat.

"Thirty at news ninety six point five WDBO going to be another chilly night across central Florida channel nine eyewitness news chief meteorologist, Tom Terry in the forties and eventually thirty nine for Orlando for a second straight morning patchy frost developing as well. We'll be a lot cooler to the north and west and east of the metro, but don't fear. We should be back in the eighties by this weekend. According to Tom and will once again hearing from you dang it's called. I can't wait till it's hotter than a Saracho anima again whether went from eighty to fifty five I just saw state trooper. Yes, it did. And we'll go back to the eighties. As I mentioned by the weekend. You can use the open mic feature in the news ninety six point five WDBO apt. Let us know what you think about the weather. News ninety six point five WDBO. Orlando turns first for severe weather this seasons. First frost expected in parts of central Florida tonight. That's coming up. I'm Tony Marino. We are down to forty eight in downtown Orlando. Or is that something people do and? In tight urban areas where somebody comes to your apartment and walks your dogs ever that means. Yeah, I've actually got a friend who started a service for wa aids easy expanded. He's hired people. And yeah. In professional dog walking service. Work long hours need someone to walk your dog. Or if you're gone for a week, and you don't necessarily want to hire a pet sitter. You can have a dockworker come multiple times a day, but part of. Part of walking. Our dogs is part of the bonding for us as a family with our dogs. Some people are busy. I guess. Yeah. I'm not busy. Oh, this was the funniest of all if you have a private chef. I can't believe we included some of these. Kim's? Diane over there, Kim, do you have a private chef? Now, they'll private so you give them a tip equivalent to what it costs to have them for one week. Oh, how about the Starbucks barista? Who knows your order when you get to the squawk box every morning. That's a good one for Christa. Yeah. Well, she goes five times a day. I think that's about right? So twenty bucks, apparently is what you give the barista who knows you by name and order and even hear your voice, they don't even have to hear your name. They know it's you and they have your coffee ready. And so let's go to more mundane things the people delivering packages and newspapers to you anybody besides me still a newspaper at your house. I got four day. Well, anyway. UPS FedEx UPS, so they're allowed to accept a nominal gift of some kind. Now. I gotta tell you. What's funny? A FedEx nominal gift is considered to be up to seventy five dollars. But no cash is allowed UPS you can actually give cash no specific amount and the postal service. No cash is allowed, but you can give a gift up to twenty bucks and the newspaper delivery person up to thirty bucks. There's no rules about that. It's just that's the amount. So we have a full list of all these things a lot of them. Yes. Extremely first world, plus kind of things others things that people deal with each day. But there's one I want to leave you with one service that no one ever thinks about expressing thanks to no one ever does. And it's just about the nastiest job. Anybody ever does for us at our house? And it's the. The people who pick up our trash, and nobody would ever think of the trash collectors. And so typically you want to give them something. Like if you see him coming by ten bucks or so a person on the truck because they deal with all our nastiness. They deal with the bad weather coming around to pick stuff up, and they are the most unappreciated of service workers in any community. Ryan is with us on the Clark Howard show. Hello, ron. Clark longtime listener, and I wanna thank you for the service that you provide on the radio. Luckily, traded multibillion dollar companies, so it's one of those one of those interference is in the free market that may have made sense at one time when it was small local mom and pop car dealers. But absolutely makes no sense today. And in my mind has always been what warriors would refer to as an illegal restraint of trade. Now, there's one car manufacturer. That sells cars directly in SUV's directly, Dino who that is. No, I don't tesla. Tesla never had franchise dealers. And so they are the only car brand that I'm aware of in the United States in one hundred years that sells cars direct free of any dealer franchise agreements. Oh, interesting. And so they have they been able to set up a direct sales model most Tesla's people by on their phone or on a laptop. They just build the vehicle they want the way they want it and place an order, and that's it. And then they go to a delivery center to accept delivery of the vehicle, and so in the modern era with the internet with cell phones, and with laptops. There really is no reason for the massive additional costs built into vehicles that comes about because of the franchise car dealer system. One hundred percent. So, you know, who knows there are always a lot of things that happen because of people are organizations political influence and the contributions they give to politicians that make no sense from an overall economic standpoint, but they stay in place because the politicians kowtowed who gives them money. Exactly. So I'm gathering from the question that frustrates you. You can't just go to the auto manufacturer whose vehicle you'd like and be able to buy it straight from them. Right. And knowing me, I'm sure there are several out there. Also. Same. Train of thought. Well, let me say this to you in most people are not buying new vehicles. Most people by using calls and the us vehicle market is going through a radical transformation right now. And you may have heard of an or heard me speak of a company called carbon a-. And carbon is really leading the way to wear particularly people who were underage forty the only way they'll ever want to buy a vehicle where they just go straight to their phone. They look at inventory, the prices there. They select what they want to buy and the vehicles either dropped in their driveway. Or they go to a vehicle vending machine put in code and the door opens in your vehicles there and you drive out of the garage with it. So the the marketplace at least on the us side is responding to what people want but on the new side not yet except one company only, and that's a vehicle that most people can't afford tesla. Danny's with us on the Clark Howard show. Hi, danny. Clark. How're you doing great? Thank you, Danny. How can I be of service to you? Question about supplemental insurance company. Is this some kind of supplemental health or something for your house or car? What kind of it would be supplemented disability health insurance and possibly critical illness coverage for my kids? Okay. All right. I I'm a big believer in disability insurance. Okay. That's something. That's one of the most overlooked of all insurance products that exists in the market. And in fact, the possibility of becoming disabled through your working lifetime is actually far greater than you dying during your key working years, but people generally don't even think about or consider buying disability insurance. Me and my wife are both state employees. I work at a dangerous job. And it's something that I would be concerned if I was looking at some companies advertising at my state job and some reviews online and do they didn't favorable favorable reviews online, and I was wondering journey opinions for companies you would recommend. So this is a tough area because with disability insurance. The the real critical point is at a point that you are disabled and the insurer is on cooperative and tries to allege that you are not restricted from being able to work and therefore they're not going to pay. So the definition it's even more important than the company is the definition of disability. You have a specific skill. I'm gathering and that skill is one that puts you endanger each and every day, you're working, right? So in that case, the definition of disability needs to be based on you not being able to do the job that you do that you're trained for. How many different companies you have choices of for the disability coverage? I have two that I've been looking at right now. And that's within what the government offers you as a potential benefit where you work. Yes. Okay. And there, but there's more than those two. I haven't done a lot of research. There was one that I was really interested in, but I get some of us, and it just seemed like people were happy with their service. So I was going to generally when you're buying disability insurance. You're never going to see reviews the people that are thrilled with it. Because people who the disability pays is. Should they're pretty silent the people whose disability claim has denied their screaming at the top of their lungs and to anyone that will listen. So what I'm more interested in is that you work with any disability insurer. How they're going to define that disability. And that they that one thing you gotta make sure is not there that you were only eligible for payment. Under the disability insurance policy. If the social security administration determined you eligible for social security disability. You never want to see any refer ref reference to your qualification for disability coverage from a private insurer based on the determination that the social security administration would make. Okay. Let's. That spirit opinions on critical illness coverage for children, I don't like critical illness coverage, I don't like single issue kind of health things because it's more important that you have the.

"Ball sits squarely on the twenty eight yard line on the left hash. Mark on the Missouri. Side of the fifty and Kentucky needs about a yard and a half or slightly more for the first down to keep this Dr going that started after a blocked field goal at the Kentucky. Forty one yard line. Kentucky leads a three nothing with three. Oh, seven left to play in the first quarter. And they, you know, they'll go with the beat the put pow three twenty Beck nerve to ninety five Elliott's three fifteenth, the gut that's some size. They'll put right over the center to try to keep Kentucky for going over that guard center gap. I'd almost rather them. Have Terry back there at quarterback and try to get the edge. Like, he's been pretty sharp on its first two drives city grand telling me today that they're Tuesday practice was quoted as good as we've ever been all season in seven on seven drills. Let urgency from all three quarterbacks we've seen Danny Clark for one play and a third and short on this. Dr. Benny Snell lined up in the cat. Got tied in rig on the left side Conrad lined up behind the left guard. Other tight end. And it looks like on the right side. Snell takes the snap hesitate. That's up ended guy. I don't think he made it nine in the box. Tocci could not move them out of there. And I think Missouri has got the stop bring the chain out at thing. Shod brandon? Elliot leading the charge for Missouri. Die guys up there. Close by then he's going to be about a football. Sure. Yeah. I think you're right. Benny snell. It is career has attempted six fourth-down runs and made the first down five times. So if he misses. Be only the second time in seven attempts strips inches short very takes over. Big play four Mizzou. Green is only so much. You can do when there's dying up in the box like that. And there's no threat of a pass out of the wild, Kathy. Just sell out for the run. Nothing. He could do try to bounce to the outside. But it's too many guys you when you only have six to block nine. So now, Missouri takes over a little momentum for the Tigers. They had a nice I drive ended with a blocked field goal Kentucky. Couldn't take advantage of that momentum. Swing now Missouri takes over from its own twenty seven. Sixty five points last week. Route of Memphis. Drew lock out of the shotgun to what outs left tight end and a white out to his right as he drops to throw steps up at the pocket. Fires depot Johnson crossing the fifty breaks. "Comes up with it at the forty one yard line. Darius west came up with a football. Boy, they had a couple of guys in there. And you called it the nice block. It's the first one this year found not mistaken Cup close a couple of times. And now they get great field position top correction. It was west who blocked it not recovered. It. That was a jailbreak will the Missouri protection. And a big break for Kentucky. Is they take over at their own forty one yard line with that was huge. Look like Missouri had touchdown that was nullified by penalty. And they try the tying field goal and that comes up empty. Pistol formation for the cats. And off the snail straight ahead. Not much there. It's to the forty three. And that's all. Threes defensive front very stingy so far versus Snell who has gone over one hundred yards in Bolton games that he has played against Missouri. Yeah. They're only given up one hundred thirty one a game. So it's as you said pretty stingy. They give up almost three hundred game passing. And they take chances with that secondary. To you guys on an island on the outside tight. End stacked on the right side to white outs on the left. Second down. Eight Kentucky at its own forty three after blocking field goal. Missouri's opening drive. Cats lead at three nothing here in Columbia. Wilson out of the gun fakes to Snell throws into the middle who's got Boden. And he's got the first down into Missouri territory at the forty seven yard line quick slant boat was able to get on the inside of the defender. And it's a nice pitch and catch sparks making a tackle the nice easy. Save pass. Confidence builds for the young man now giving him some confidence as just night and day difference from last week when he started with two turnovers. Now, you got to tights Tom to wideouts to the left. The tight ends are on the right side. Conrad on the line of scrimmage Rick behind the right tackle pistol formation. Wilson takes this net exit. The Snell setting the sliding, right? He's going run. He's across the forty five breaks the tackle near sideline across the board goes out of bounds posted a first down at the bazaar. Eight thirty seven yard line. They've got a spot at just short. So it'll be second down about a half yard. That's at post. You were talking about Tom. It's a little fake to the inside. And that time he had Lynn running oppose pattern. He was covered. They have a safety eighteen yards off the ball. And he did the right thing. He takes it himself. Second down less than one four Kentucky Albright hash Mark moving left to right. Just outside the Missouri. Thirty seven yard line four receivers split wide to the left. Conrad one of them piece of quarterback. Danny Clark the quarterback for Kentucky here Clark. He's gonna keep it. Let's tackle in the backfield. Go straight ahead and the ball may pop loose. Same down. The ball carrier was down down. Danny clark. Stay keeper to get the first down on third and short to the Missouri. Thirty six sure they're taking a look at this at the replay center the ball came out. But. Park was down. Now, they're gonna stop play. Not surprised. The previous players under further review. I've not seen the replay yet. Let's see here in our booth. We're trying to strip it. And. Tom if I'm not mistaken the.

"Seven that's two eight okay. We're gonna go to a call from TJ. And he is coming to us from he's based in Fort Bragg. I think he's been maybe driven out of there by the weather. But anyway, TJ go ahead with your question for coach. Hey, coach stoops I just wanted to say, thanks for being Florida. I mean, you could stay here forever. If you want me TJ. No, I know that you mentioned that you carry Wilson because he's causes fusion for the defense. But going into Mississippi State, you're now going to have to go up a guy who can cause confusion because he's a dole threat guy. What kind of preparation goes into that bathing adult threat guy like that? Yep. You gotta TJ. Thank you. Fitzgerald is a very very good football player. You know, he's experienced in. He's one of those guys. He's he's not only fast. But he he's big, you know, so he's big and strong and can take some punishment. So he when he runs, you know, they're not frayed to use them and run them in the game really goes through him. And he's he's a very good football player. But you know, it just takes preparation across the board their their calls the replays. There are things when we can add numbers to the run game. To help with a quarterback runs. And then there's other you just can't do that the whole game. Because what you're doing is. You're just hanging out the the second year on every play and he can throw the ball as well. So that's where you have to mix in some other calls and some other coverages and things and there's gonna be times when you're so somewhat. You're going to be down. You're gonna be down a number. If you're in any one high coverage if you're not in split safeties. If you're with one deep and changing the coverages you're going to be short one the quarterback run game. Just wait is in. So you have to find ways to have players make special place to get things contain it. But you have to mix things up. There's also a discipline in the rush lanes because you wanna get after the passer and get up field and pressure the quarterback. But when you do that, sometimes if you're not disciplined, you rush lanes, then he's gonna pull you down and kill you. Scrambling and running it also they have designed quarterback runs that that they used to slow you down as well. So there's quite a few things that go into it. And we'll have to play really good team. Defense TJ, thanks for the call. Thanks for your service as well. Couple of follow ups on that. I would think I mean, this is always true, but baby even more. So in this game to take advantage of you. Get a shot at interception. You get a shot at a fumble because against guy like this. And it's the same way for them against Terry. It's a chess match, and you're going to lose some of those moves that's take advantage of the opportunities. That's correct turnovers are always big in stops her big. We talked to our team today critical situations. They're always important, you know there. There's games that are won and lost with certain place critical situations, and you know, may I always say, you don't know what one play it is. Because there's many plays in the game. But there's gonna be a lot of critical situations in this game and third down. Third and shorts stern mediums that these teams keep you completely off balance because they could throw or run or quarterback running. So there's a lot of pressure on you on the third third down mediums your news conference today. You said that Danny Clark could maybe be useful as a scouting QB this. Well. Again, I didn't say that not a scout team quarterback. But he is we go we go. Good against good. Yeah. No. We go. We're going. We're going ones against ones or twos against twos in. He is like that in that. He's very very strong. You know, he's he's he could he could throw the ball. But he's also a physical runner. Yeah. He got election on Saturday. Got his first touchdown. He did. He did a really good job. I really liked Danny. He does a good job. And he works extremely hard. He's passionate about the team. He's a little luck FitzGerald two big strong. That's what I'm saying. In that in that way. He's he's he's a physical guy. Go to Amanda. What does the coaching staff due to keep the team from getting to aunt up for a game like this, and I gave it home ranked opponent? Yeah. I talked to the team about that today because you know, a couple of weeks ago we were talking about the situation. Do you know? So there's always things I touch with them about the game. You know, there's the situation there's football keys, there's motivational keys try to stay in that range there there's certain things that talk about them every every week and that is a different situation. So she's right in that. And we will address it, and we have talked about that and started today with the players process in that and how they handle themselves and the way they go through pre-game and not over exerting themselves and getting to emotional because it's about our preparation. I wanted to be very enthusiastic in fired up this week during the week with being attentive in meetings doing little extra getting sleep getting hydrate and. Making sure they're eating the right foods in in having great practices. You know? So a lot of those things, you know, you could use his motivation throughout the week. Yeah. I remember the first cribbage you weren't especially pleased with what you saw. But usually most years there's been a a day or two where you had to get after about a practice. I don't remember you doing that this year. Good steady practice. There has been in last week was a good example of that. Because we're coming off a big win. And I was pleased with the way we went about our business last week on Tuesday and Wednesday, in the way, we had preparation for for that game in that does show me that this team has a maturity about them and have some experience in and guess what they have another week to prove me right this week. So they're going gonna be pushed in I expect them to handle things the right way because they have so far this year. It's got to call in before we go to the next break. This comes from Sal Ville from Cody question about cash, Daniel, Cody. Coach Williams this year. Rush was cash Daniel. And what are your plans on recruiting these guys that are from rural county Kentucky. 'cause I know there's a lot of big out here. I love to play football that usually don't get recognition. Yup. Cash is very very important for us. He's been a mainstay with our defense in in. You know, he's a great example of a guy that comes in. And he's highly recruited in really just puts his head down goes to work. You know, puts in the time place behind Courtney for a couple of years. And then now he's getting his opportunities making the most of it. You know, he means an awful lot to us. I just love his demeanor. I love the fact that he does take great pride in playing at Kentucky and being from Kentucky and represent in eastern Kentucky. And you know, so we we understand that and have several players on our team from there. And we'll continue to always recruit the state. It's always very important for us. Thank you, Cody is video got him. A lot of attention. Josh Allen, pick time NFL prospect. He's been talked up a lot of guts getting overlooked. I think a little bit. I'll get you to talk about because he had four pass breakups on Saturdays. Jordan Jones at linebacker yet. Jordan, Jordan, really played a good game this past Saturday and everybody's used to him being a tackling machine. But our team was making more tackles they're spread out. And but Jordan is playing more disciplined and you're right. Maybe he's not getting the recognition. But within our team. He is because I thought he played one of his better games this past week. And he was putting space. He was asked to cover in space and do things and sometimes cover the running back one on one and he covered them like a black. And did some really good things. So I've been pleased with Jordan gotta get to that last break one segment left. It's the Mark stoops show of the UK sports network. Well, there's nothing like winning. I mean, nothing replaces that plainly comes close to it is playing. Phrase. I heard you use for your NFL days without losing could be a habit winning. Yes, that's a norm van Brooklyn. That's all we got into that habit. Good, man. Good, man. I have really enjoyed playing. Macinnis this kick the angles. This went over to the side still gets it into the end zone for real estate, but another touchback. I like that new rule this year. Bouncing. Yeah. I think it's. Anytime you can lessen the impact of injury. And this is a lot of occur on special teams. I think I'm right on. This Murray has not started a drive today outside. It's the work of the kennison. Belly the QB? Threw an interception last time up techy jumps offsides. And here's the flag snapped back. Hawkins look like. Defense number fifty five quarterback five yard penalty. Still I out on Hawkins. Three thirty new quarterback for Murray's Preston rice. Time Steve him today, racial go to their third QB is just did a moment ago. The ball out to the thirty makes it first and five leeann Kentucky. Empty backfield is rice drops to throw down the middle of the field. He's got a man wide open. "Eight forty w. h. a. s., out there to work with your six Tom it's you know it's always an exciting time we've. Been tired going against each other we've been beating each other up all spring all camp so it's nice to play. Another opponent no I'm excited about this week Well everybody's been asking you about the quarterback I'm sure everywhere you gone for for months, today, you made the, announcement that you're going with. Terry Wilson what were the factors that. Pushed it in his favor well it was a hard, decision both guys you know really all. Three, of them played really good Goner. Hope has been around here for awhile very comfortable with? Our, system Danny Clark is a winner does, some amazing, things at times and Terry as well so I think all the quarterbacks played very, well I think at the end of the. Day, you know, you gotta make a tough decision. I'm comfortable with that and as I told Terry, interested quarterbacks now it's about, going out, and, games and playing well you, know it's not just winning the job we have to go play effectively here. This week but I'm excited. About Terry you know they're they're all all the quarterbacks. But Terry has, great leadership qualities he's obviously very dynamic with. His, legs and he's. Been throwing the ball very well it's even. More of a uncertainty at, the quarterback position I don't know how well you typically. Sleep on game nights if this'll be any different night before games but you've with quarterbacks. You don't go, to use your. Guys phrasing live in other words they don't, get where, other positions. If you have somebody that hasn't played. At least you put. Them through contact work well you're exactly, right and that's one one advantage with with, Terry it, wasn't the, ultimate decision, but Terry did, play last year, at the, junior college so. He he has been hit or the other, two guys haven't been hit a while so you. Know to be determined I said that in, a press, conference today you know we'll see. He's made very good. Decisions on targets he's been very accurate he's, been making good decisions in practice but when. The, bullets get, flying different pressures different people different. Teams those decisions you know what what he does, you know we'll we'll see, I have, a, lot of confidence in him, but Until you. Get in there and do it you, don't know exactly what you have and really. I'm excited about that because I feel like he has. The ability to turn it up a whole nother notch in. I'm excited to see that unfortunately had to, talk about a a, significant injury issues today and it means that the. Guy who will, be protecting the blind side of. The quarterback has never taken a snap, at a college yeah it's it's it's tough. You, know I really. Feel for Landon and hurts our football team. Two years in a row, we lose our starting left tackle that never helps Landon. Came in last year when Cole got hurt and of course he has all that experience. And all those, snaps and then. He gets hurt in a freak accident non-contact, last Friday, we've been. Through all this can't we've been banging. In hidden and and. Know going at it pretty hard for, for over a month and he makes it, through the, whole camp, and gets, hurt in the, last Neo last, day before, game we prep. In just a freak accident I feel for, Landon We do. Have some depth we'll see you. Know you know I've talked about Nassir for a couple of years now and in the year last, year we contemplate a plan them we ultimately red-shirted them but we have a lot of confidence in him. Along with Egypt price we'll see how. It goes this week Coach has, done a nice, job with his own line, in recent. Years of having guys not only have building some depth but having guys. That can play multiple positions sometimes. Walter besides. Do you, have other, guys that you could roll in there as well perhaps. We do you know we we definitely can move guys around. But you know tackles, a different animal like you know so especially left tackle Landon was really. Solid and comfortable playing that position so You know, but we gotta play the, cards that are dealt in next man up but not see your. Has quite a bit of ability George, you know we really don't like Toyota George too much he he got real comfortable at right tackle you know we used to fool around a moving them a little bit at garden plan some tackle but we settled in with a nice mix last year. And, so really don't. Wanna move, George at this point you. Know he could probably handle it but he's playing very good football and I want him comfortable play, you mentioned handful of a true. Freshman at least one of whom I think came. In and played in the spring that you are looking at at playing a few others that might play the good news is you don't have to, count on any of those guys to to start the finally, yeah it is good you know I feel like the freshman they're gonna? Play this year. Of the, guys, that can make an impact in, and really help, us and you could bring, them along. Hopefully they won't get forced into too much action they could just play. Enough To get their feet wet and help us and you know there's definitely some impressive guys and we'll see what happens you know with Jordan Jordan has been banged up at will linebacker position Jordan Jones so we've had to. Really, work the Andrei. And Chris, oaks in that position and. Those guys have been impressive so you know they're definitely gonna play how many snaps you know we'll, see the injury to to land. And we talked about otherwise good shape good shape. Physically with your really good Outside. Of Josh Pasco of course in what he's going through yeah we made it through camp pretty good you're updating the media folks today on Josh though he's not maybe too far from at. Least getting back into the, weight room, well yeah he he's got, you know a lot of treatment to do. In but his spirits are really. High and again, the medicine that he's on. The treatment that he's on for for. The type, of cancer that he, has he's he's, responded to it very well and in. Really he's getting getting started with a lot of that, here this week, as well who he'll start getting getting going with that. They've actually been, letting his foot recover a bit and he's had two. Surgeries three, surgeries two, surgeries in one procedure I guess you'd call it on his. Foot so he's letting that heal up but you know Josh has got great. Attitude he's got a great spirit. About them you, know we're gonna miss..

"May get a shower around as move on through this morning isolated thunderstorms possible nothing widespread expected Archer clouds at sun otherwise through the day up near eighty five mainly clear tonight sixty five sunshine tomorrow sunshine on Sunday getting hotter for the Weather, Channel I'm meteorologist Ray Stagich NewsTalk seven, sixty WJR and we're. Looking at about sixty nine and sticking with the sixty nine Brian all right that's a story we're sticking with, at sixty. Nine, degrees right now in the mid eighties before through rain is in, their humidity, all the usual, summer stuff is all right, there but most of the heat coming. Over the weekend tomorrow and Sunday but there's great, things going, on out there the by Michigan now tenth. Annual by Michigan now festival downtown northville starts today at four o'clock. Goes till eight tomorrow it's ten AM to eight PM Sunday ten AM to five PM in downtown northville and we were, there at the. Very beginning of that whole event to remember ten years ago when Lisa digs Came on started talking about this idea she had about. By Michigan now meanwhile we always enjoy our conversations with our excellent secretary. Of state Ruth Johnson she has as I was talking with a little bit ago. Done I think a tremendous job in her position and I said that when you weren't here Madam secretary so Just want you to. Know well thank you I've got a great staff they're named the in. The, top two in the states I'm very proud of them they've done a. Great job well congratulations on the great job you and your team, have done and I know from the very. Beginning well the express SOS for example express SOS dot, com Really has helped a lot. Of people like the printing technology and the time line. And all of that but. I know near and dear. To, your heart has also been. The success you've had in expanding. Michigan's organ donor registry that's been a, very, personal effort on, your part, in a successful one Again very proud. Of our staff they've done a great job getting out that word electrically and print media radio TV especially in a hundred. And thirty one secretary state offices to staff, has taken time which they don't have much of because. We're down twenty. Five percent staff, but they do take the time to ask and we went from one of the worst states in the nation. At twenty seven percent or up to, sixty four percent one of the best states in the nation people just need, to know. About, it and be ask it's pretty simple Michigan's are very very generous and they showed it. With the organ and tissue donation to by joining the Michigan organ. Donor registry and I think them for that well you've been a good educational driving force behind that to Madam secretary of state Ruth Johnson meanwhile something we've been talking about for. A while here on the Paul W Smith show WJR it shows up now on the front page of the Detroit News. It's been around to the paper and and in conversation that the absentee Votes have been searching for the primary surpassing, the twenty fourteen but city of. Detroit is not doing the same they did but people are really catching on and using absentee and we were talking about, the fact that to maybe they need a. Tip on who's eligible to use them and how it works sure to get an absentee application you simply have to be. Sixty or older physically unable to get to, the polls out of town on election day in jail. Awaiting arraignment or. Trial and a, religious reason or an as an election inspector thirty thousand people or patriots and they work the election's every day. So if they work in the elections, they can do that too and we encourage everyone to take time to first, of all. Find, out what's on their ballot that's easy to do you go on Michigan deck up forward. Slash vote because we have over five thousand ballots sales because we. Have local home rule so if you've got Michigan backup for which led You could see your particular. Ballot for your address you can also see who you're clerk is where you vote everything that you need rate is is on, there except for the, research that you'll need to do and yes you're right are absentees are as of, yesterday there usually little four hundred thousand. World for six hundred thousand so that's, a fifty percent increase I. Think a lot of that has to do with how many, people are running so people are. Working hard we have. Governor that will be on the ballot that has generated a lot of interest as with us all new state reps and a. Lot of most of them are termed out Senate Local racist board of education county commissioners and ballot initiatives state and local and so this is a really big election I encourage people to get involved and have their voice heard, well well put you know there's a lot of, complaining going on out, there but you really don't have a right to complain if, you don't, participate, in the process frankly hey I we were talking earlier. About the idea of sometimes we hear well we don't have. The results yet because we're still counting the the absentee ballots there's no way you can count those. Ahead of, time so. That you already know the answer once we go to the polls closing a lot is that. You can't count and tall election. Day starting right in the beginning you can and I support that law even though. It does maybe take a. Little bit longer in some cases especially when you. Have a lot of absentee votes it will take longer but that way no was what the tally is can say you know hey so So, you better, hurry, up Behind Hegarty. Yeah in this day of, leaks I guess you really have to be, careful but I gave that is good news though that you don't have to wait until the polls close at eight. O'clock you can start it in the, morning the day of the. Election apparently you can start to count. Them you, can and that way you don't have to worry about somebody getting information that may help. Them so it is. Difficult it's very difficult, time the, clerks their staff to start so early in the morning and have to go to so late at night without. Sleep but, again it's also that we have the integrity in our elections that we really have to. Have, hey what about that Ruth Johnson running for state Senate campaign that you kind of hinted about along while ago you are in the in the? Running, yeah I think, I I hint talking to you maybe at the auto, shop I think you're right Yes so you don't? Have, to worry about, at this moment the primary it's the general election you'll, be more actively involved You, know anytime you run you. Have to run hard and make sure. People know that you're out there what you stand for what. You plan on doing I'll continue to try to do, that I'm it's a balancing act. Always, when you have another job, when I first ran after I own my, own business then I worked at children's village I I. Actually quit my, job so I'd have more time to do that but that this one is this one is to important we have elections so, I'll still be there and I enjoy every minute of it at my term does him at. The end of the year and, I'm gonna miss the people and some of the work we've been able to get done and that includes for the elections we're going to. Have. Some really nice upgrades will be the only state in? The nation, that have all new. Machines that are cyber secure We ours are going to be. The proven cutting edge throughout the state we also have. Received recently, eleven point two, million dollars for upgrades that will continue to upgrade because you know you got to stay one step, ahead of the bad guy. So we'll be doing that too and. We've cleaned up the qualified voter file we've taken up one. Point two million or one out of six voters mostly, because their debt six hundred and. Four, thousand one hundred and forty, four thousand that were registered in both Michigan, and another state to vote and three thousand five hundred. And five miles, months and everyone should know that voting machines are publicly tested we have an open process we post-election audits and there's a county, and state canvassing and training for our thirty thousand patriots that work at the elections and you. Will see new equipment in your, in every one of our precincts across the state to when you vote on Tuesday I think that idea you had of hiring the Russian Diplomats to stand at every machine To just to make sure that everything's okay Madam secretary of. State Ruth Johnson always a. Pleasure to Paul W. Have a wonderful day you do. The same she is running. For state Senate she. Is term limited out I'm against term limits. That's another story have been from the moment I heard about them seven twenty. Four now close enough to seven twenty five. Let's take care of business on this Friday August third are. WJR traffic and weather first on the fives Danny, Clark sponsored by advantage gold accident in Warren blocking all lanes along. Mound Road southbound at Chicago. Also earlier accident still in the clearing stages ninety four westbound after..
