"I normally don't love to talk. About red carpets. On the podcast is kind of not the best medium to do so since you theoretically would want to louisiana photo while you hear people talk about it but it would just feel. Almost sacrilegious did not talk about zendaya. Timothy chaumet on the red carpet at the venice film festival. Her in that wet nude woman. Look it was honestly. I do not think that we are being over dramatic and saying this for me. At least it was hands down my favorite red carpet of the entire year me to a hundred million percent. I have to say even on top of that is felt like the entire venice film festival and all the looks forgetting was just the red carpet that was like two years of coverted lacking in the making like it was the culmination of just so. Many misread carpets. Because i felt like almost every single. Look i saw was just breathtaking and unbelievable and i would put zenda absolutely at the top of all of that. She was in all of her looks. I mean specifically this bomb on but that brown off the shoulder. Valentino wish so. Sorry that there's not a visual for this as we're talking i you guys probably not definitely look it up. Also just a few mentions dakota johnson in that block gucci suit. I thought was phenomenal. You send that. And you're like. I can't even explain how much i love this outfit. Because i love. When i seen alphabet i could see myself wearing like religiously. What's day. War was so gorgeous. But there's just no world in which that would look good on me. Where's that block. she suit. I one hundred percent would wear that at night. Set a world. We were going to a red carpet. Yeah i could fund your presents you not. I also got kate hudson in that black and j. john hall. I don't know there was a lot. Is gonzales i think. She's one of the most stunning women. Maybe ever and calling you. Everyone just brought it. I saw john hall. Not white suit was no like literally game over. No he looks unreal and kate hudson in the block but also in the red. She is unreal. I actually i would say once a week out of nowhere. Something about my girl crush on kate. Hudson danni yes you do and you're so right in it fi. I remember a few weeks ago. When that news about jake dillon hawley. Not showering that frequently broke and everybody was so concerned it went in one here. Not the other for me. I just i just don't care i'm so sorry it didn't even go in one year for me. Yeah i was like all right. Lake you think is gonna take a lot more than the knowledge of his occasionally showering to make me lose attraction. Oh yeah i mean to say the very least to say the very least. Yeah one more thing we have to talk about in terms of venezuela which. I'm sure you guys have seen if not we're going to put the lincoln the description and quickly go walk this before you hear us talk about it. But there's viral video of jessica chastain and oscar isaac on the red carpet for the screening of their movie scenes from a marriage and it is this very affectionate display. Where they're kind of gazing into each other's eyes and he is kissing her arm and the whole thing just feels very central. And if you saw this he didn't have any background knowledge. You would probably think that they are married to one another. of course. that's not the case they are both married seemingly happily married to other people they each have two kids and he is apparently known for this like that. He's kind of infamous for really bringing the sexual tension onscreen and for being relatively flirtatious with his co stars while promoting the film. Which is really what i think is going on here. I just think that the exact result is what they got. Everybody kind of talking about it and here we are so. Do i think anything's happening. No however i was getting turned on from that a little. That was one of the most sexual things i've ever seen in my life. Not even satirized carpet right and upper arm says. I'm sorry i didn't even know. That was a thing me neither and they look good together. You know. I honestly thought i was going crazy for a little bit because this was obviously everywhere but the headline on it wasn't anything to do with either of them being married like every single headline and i'm not just talking about like tweets. I'm talking about like major news sources. That were posting it. Being like this moment between jessica chastain and oscar isaac and. I'm like am. I the only one. That's gonna acknowledge that they're both married. I literally felt like. I was going crazy until i saw finally starting to pick up a little bit but i think people didn't realize or forgot no the entire internet momentarily forgotten. I think a lot of people also just didn't know because i don't think it's a crazy thing that you may not know. The knowledge of both of their marital status is. They're not necessarily celebrities to put it all out there. No of course it was. Just i mean. Listen they're both married to very high profile people. It's just they're not public right. It's just so funny. Because what are the odds that we happen to do that. Jamie lee curtis comment on his wife l. virus photo like the day before this all happened like she randomly. We've never spoken about her. I don't think ever and then all of a sudden the video happens amri posts. Jamie lee curtis comet. Well it was that night and you like format. It and i was like. Are you sure because her husband right. Now is hitting Upper arm. I know it was so hot i mean i think they have all of us in the palm of their hands because they are getting so much publicity for this movie now and everybody's gonna want to see if the onscreen sexual tension matches that of the red carpet so like job. Well done across the board. Totally that being said i was still very into it and i was very happy that the internet wanted to engage in that moment. Because you and i couldn't get enough of it. Yeah me too and the story does come together a lot more when you have the understanding that he's very much known for this kind of display with his co.

"A couple of words keywords Where do you think someone should stop if they want to try journaling but it seems like this too big a barrier to entry. It really depends what wanting to get from. It says some of my aunts will start with a gratitude journal and it's just kind of everyday ride down three things you grateful for Kombi the same vague. Three things like really just sit there and and Three specific things that you're right before that day and that might be where they start Some people that are more mating to really dig deep into like childhood. A troll moral things like that I find one of the one of the best ways to do. It is to get a new book. And just google some gentlemen. Proms and wrought one gentleman prompted the top of h page. And then in the morning just literally flicky night book life in whatever page you land on just write whatever comes out and i always say might be sentence. You might write for pages and need to find another night book that just let that prompt kind of guide you and just let synchronicity or the unit vessel whatever it is choose which page you land on that morning. I love that. What are the page alanna. Rather than a a structure. It's just what they were the penfolds and you mentioned that you love riding yourself and you know you are an oath like me discussed. What will work have you written. I've written my book quit stressing about which is very much about relationship with ferried and it goes into my experiences with it And yet it's it's probably not what most people expect when they pick up the book It's very much about mindset and emotions around food and soy yet that's my published book. And then i write blogs For both my website and other websites as well so routings just always come naturally to me. It's just one of those things that i guess that's the way i express myself..

"That car in and out on the inside and be fine. So emotions elect that in that. They don't always feel comfortable and we just want to kind of fight against them. Get rid of them. Suppress them push them down with food. But when you practice and it's definitely a practice it's not something that happens Often not and it's something that i'm probably still practicing But it just gets easier nausea to allow those emotions So you can stop by just doing a quick body scan. One of the simplest things is Take a few deep breaths get into your body closure if you feel like he need to where my feeling they see. You don't even have to name at first but there's going on. Where am i feeling in my body. And i might be okay. It's in my chest. i feel really and restricted. If i could give missing nine what would its name be and that might be. It might be anxiety. Whatever it is it might not have a name and that's completely fun and you can go further with that. Does it have temperature is hot is it. Cold is their shape. Is there a chole- Is there a texture just noticing. That curious scientist again. Just noticing anything that's going on with it and then just sitting there with it understanding what he's sitting there breathing for it and your body will want to fight it because that's how we've been programmed And just breathing for allowing your body to relax. Drop your shoulders. Unclench drool allow that feeling to be there without judgment just literally awareness and you'll be amazed how braiding through that can actually allow that to dissipate. So i was gonna ask you then before you even mentioned that and you just pretty much answered it foamy. Mindfulness in present and accepting what you have a you. That's that's basically what you're saying. There is being mindful and accepting you odd. You do practice any of that daily. Have a little daily routine that helps you at the end of the day. The middle of the day. When you wake up i think for me. Mindfulness as more something that. I just practiced throughout the day assets. Just kind of that constant reminder with a one year old. I don't have that spice of the moment to have a really set retain But i have had retains in the past. And i think when you have that practice and consistency than you can just bring that into anymore moment really easily so i definitely kind of practicing it. I guess it'd be more hardcore the sod just to get that it is ray training your brain ri- like it's a new way of being But at the moment for may it's more just a moment to moment thing where.

"Yeah. And then i start to question myself and then it's about okay. I know what i'm doing to myself. I know what's happening. I've got that that voice so much shoda that's telling me i'm not good enough but jank you've done this thousands of times you'll son much better rebounding from this. Then i go into sold on my list of steps of things that i need to do and then i bring myself back up of a time you just get better and better and better at managing those thoughts and that's that's all it is that you get one percent better sort of each and every time and so once you get that self awareness in you stop to judge yourself a little bit more directly reckon all sorts of starts to fall into place or is there another step that we need to be aware of. I think of it. Oh my second. Ongoing parenting role Every parenting yourself so One of the biggest things that i within my clients is if they have kids you'll would children in their life that love talk to yourself the way you talk to that child so I don't think that we it for me. I've never gotten to a point where it's smooth sailing. I never have thoughts that. I have to rake her raker Work with but it does get easier. But i think that that parenting role is really important to just gently reframe ray shift. And the i guess. Unhelpful full get less and less. But they can still pop up and we don't have to make that main anything about ourselves when they do arise exactly. Yeah and in the way you'll describing the changes that we need to undergo is more holistic and about self love compassion than it is about a magic fix no secret to successful being motivated all the time because we know that sin is success. Is y'all by your definition. And we know that motivation is not linear like you'll be someday you'll beef so inspired and then a couple of hours later you could be day motivated as hell lack. It's about just that awareness. I think having a great understanding of your thoughts and your behaviors and yourself toke. Once you've got that it becomes whole lot easy on. I think that's the the one thing that i've been really grateful on my journey as males speak from a male perspective and i know a lot of men specifically still fall into that too. Because it's hot. I reckon to develop that self awareness because we're not told to explore our emotions you know we sort of sit with everything internally and we just cop and we call a lot of shit on social media too especially where we come from. Where do you think there's not enough. This is a great question on it. It's easier for women to explore their emotional mental health in today's society than men. Yes yes definitely. I think we are given that That permission a little bit more as such But i also think there's a lot of toxicity around the white way to express our emotions yet. What way what do you think that there is a bit of toxicity in that. That's something we can explore. Yeah with my clients I definitely say patents around certain Bad were allowed to be more emotional than men as a general rule. I believe About this dooley's bad emotions that were just meant to ignore not deal with And i think is old children. That comes down to cry. And i'll give you a lollipop yet like it. I could go on so many examples. And it's just that Don't be silly. Don't cry Those things that will use to kind of reassure us regardless of gender. I think teaches us to grow up and as women..

I was literally the same person inside And that was probably the biggest turning point for me in that size doesn't make a difference to what's going on internally And that's where. I really started to change the way that i looked at and used and exercise as well And started working on the inside not looking at the outside. Same thing to me I got finally six pack. That had always craved Would make me feel happy at all of a sudden people like where you look in amazing in everything and then i realized that i was still hooding sar much inside ahead as insecurities as battles with my confidence. My self esteem. How people perceived me. And i went and then there was like in the last year and a half kanda encouraged i went. I don't give a shit about how my body looks. Much is how. "What's sustainable and manageable for you as an individual compared to everybody else so you know again. I feel like we've just been on car leading pathways. That's really reinforcing. That barth gonna do amazing amazing things in the health and wellness beyond ashamed that not. Everybody has found that passion yet for what they wanna do in the health amount of speed. I think doctors one day will be. This is just a different perspective. You know doctors will be the preferred profession. You know it's going to be people like yourself. Who can tackle the relationship with food. The emotional and mental wellbeing god and so on the physical stuff as well as the preferred health professional. And that's really cool to say that the industry move towards that official. I would love to say more of a shift to was. I think it's happening slightly in. It's really nice to say people opening up to that. Yeah absolutely okay. So now that does kind of your introduction at danny and that's really cool. Love the story. That i'm sure people wanna hear about relationship with food and all of that comes with instead of dieting and stuff like that first and foremost can you explain what a relationship with food kind of means like the good and the bad. Yes i am coming from my experience. and a lot of the people that i work with now. I guess the the so-called bad side of it eased that dieting cycle that we get stuck into Which often leads to cravings binge eating emotional aiding and i. I think we get stuck in this idea that we just need more willpower. We just need to commit ourselves like yet. We just need to commit hotter and we just need to work harder and You know i know the years. I would start a diet every monday and give up by day and i look back and wonder how it took me years to stop and maybe it's the diets issue not me but we get so caught up in dieting successful..

"Whatever it is absolutely now. You've mentioned that you never really had panel until you lack eighteen and stuff like that. What was your relationship with natural health like growing up. Where did that stop this from on lack a way if we needed something would say a car packed or are bowen therapist will There was a homeopath. We lived in queens on. So there's a homeopath that was local and that stuff was just normal to us. You know you get a sore throat and you'd be like mom can i froze drops And yet you know you had a headache. And i was like drinks and have enough nephew. You made like it. Just wasn't not that it wasn't allowed it just wasn't something that way reached full or even thought about as the first line of treatment So i guess going into naturopathy that just kind of made sense to me that we can kind of work with the body's ability to heal itself before we try other things. When did that stop fascinating you. When did you sort of know that naturopathy was a pathway that you wanted to take i just remember. Stumbling upon the course aside defend from paramedics and i saw the coolest in adelaide and went to the open day and it just kind of happened. I think sometimes things just fall into place. "It's a it's a little less about the matchup as featuring the teams and players who we know are fans wanna see so sure there may not be a history or any rivalry with with dallas in utah. But we know our fans. Like tune into c- luca danni which we know our fans like the tune in to see donovan. Mitchell rudy gobert. They had the best record league last year. Like that is a game. That's going to drive viewership in that ten dirty window whether or not there is a a rivalry or a history You know to to the dallas matchup. And so i think we have a a great problem right now. Which is an an over waiting of teams. Who deserve that profile and that that played itself out on the abc schedule. Outside of christmas. I i think tom we set a record Lease under this current tv deal for the number of teams featured on abc schedule over the course season because we have so many high profile teams at the moment in high profile stars. Who who want to get out to the national audience now. I think that's right. I think that's objectively true. I mean we talk to the media about the races being a lot. Murkier this past postseason or going into it and even going into next season like we can all point to lakers and nets and the oddsmakers. Certainly have but i think we all understand like. There's there's a pretty sizable group in both conferences. That have a case to make and that hasn't always been the case so that speaks to the the challenge you guys faced for the scheduling christmas. The other thing. I thought about what the christmas day game. Maybe you can let me on this part. The obvious thing would be like if there are teams that bad blood or the rivalries or deployed in the finals. They play in the conference finals. Go ahead and match them backup or somebody got traded match those guys up and and we go for the grudge matches in the drama the personality conflicts. But it seems to me that with some of these teams are also maybe looking to promote. Tell me if i'm wrong. Certain teams were players. That maybe haven't gotten as much national run recently. That what like. What is the balance between going for. Just the obvious. You know spicy matchup that everybody will immediately recognize. Oh yeah i wanna see those teams play other again because they hate each other or there was a trade versus place teams on christmas. That you want to Boost by giving the national platform that maybe hadn't had as much prominence. I think it's i think it's a little bit about. I think you want to take the opportunity to use it to promote Teams that may not have been in the national spotlight as much maybe maybe preceding lectures plus right so let's say a team like atlanta but atlanta certainly played their way into getting onto christmas by their performance throughout the playoffs last season. So they they're they're a great example of that. I think the other thing is you know. As as evans said you've got a lot of marquee players the teams at fans want to see and this gives us an opportunity to do that..

"Raptors they see drag it is a very tradeable guy who they can get assets for that they like or get financial relief you know. The mavs are not flush with draft picks to throw into a trade after the porzingus deal so Dallas has already tried to get him and hasn't been able to dislodging. I think everybody knows if garage ends up on the free agent. Market dallas is going to zoom to the top of his list. The chance to play alongside. Luca danni the chance to reunite and eager kokoschka off. The former son's head coach is going to be on this dallas coaching staff. Next to jason kidd dallas is the natural landing spot at the mavs. Just don't have an easy trade to make for him. Yes they could said. Dwight powell and ex to toronto raptors wanna take in white palace contract. Can the mavericks put enough drafts sweeteners. With a do they have any way to make that deal more exciting for the raptors or the raptors going to the raptors. It probably makes more sense for them to keep drag it and try to find a trade that they like better. There's everything i hear. There's no way toronto's gonna buy him out. why would they. I mean he is. He is a trade chip and in this sign and trade deal for lowry. All they got was dragging impresses the jewish. They didn't get any draft compensation for miami. Now a chula is a recent first round. Pick so obviously from everything. I've heard that's a player. Toronto is really excited to get but they surely think they could turn dragged into more so eventually. Do i see dragon dallas. Yeah but how long is that. Gonna take yeah. I was told pretty strongly as well. They're not buying out goran dragic. That's just not going to happen and you're right why would they like. He'll probably ultimately report. He may grumble when he does it. But a few months with the raptors a think the raptors will deal with that. If it means they can get something of substance they like back in return and dragic is still play. There's a somewhat reasonable argument to be made about. How much better. Miami got with the kyle. Lowry dragic slot. I think they got better. But i mean you got. You're talking about a pretty reliable offensive player in drug has a good relationship with jimmy butler. Good relationship with that team. So that's valuable player in dallas and you want to be in that mix. I think we both agree. Luca need some help down there and dragic would be that guy no question look that that was their priority to get a secondary ball handler. Lowry was at the top of their list. Dragages someone they're very interested in but you know what the mavs weren't going to do is just say okay. We didn't get lowery so now. Let's try to get the dinwiddie sweepstakes. Let's let's just give dennis schreuder whatever we have left. They want to upgrade their. But they don't want to just throw money at at anybody they can get they wanted me wanna be more judicious about it in. The reality is like for dallas. I mean their biggest.

Keep in mind this a fun game to see all star game. There is no real. There is no reason to put it all on the line. So i just think these top five and the starting role with young. he's gonna wanna make a name for himself devon booker who another young gun. I believe it was their last year but he had come in as a subject here. So he's gonna wanna do good. I see more youth potential on durant. It's gonna want to actually make a difference a even zone. They gotta sign on on. These guys are young and go on and make statements looked for them to give more effort than people like steph. Curry people like Tombo people like chris. Paul i just i think they're giving give you more effort and that's why i think team durant's get win this game again. It's a fun game. Don't be surprised going down the stretch last two minutes of they just wanna play slam dunk mania because there is no real cost to this game. So you know. I don't think this is a game worthy betting on or immediate. Any real significance is not. It's an all star game. It's weekend time it's fun but nonetheless. Danni Reches: How to Enrich Your Experience as a PhD Researcher

"I'd really want Danny to focus on. What's your projects have been you know and? One of them we already mentioned and is quite evident but. Other projects you've been developing besides just your PhD research and the idea is also to see if we can take out of that, how that enriched your experience as a PhD student and how listeners out there could maybe take some some example of that too. Also wherever they are You know find a group of like minded people and also enrich their experience and make it a a richer one and A. How to make their PhD a more diverse experience than just doing their research? That's where I wanted to say. I've been to a lot of different things and this is something my supervisor has warned me for so. Now, a bit more cautious at I'm trying to do it a bit less, but I've been slowed down by the whole situation with corona. Anyway. So I just want that to be a little bit of a warning when I start talking about all the fun things that I did because you definitely have to keep in mind how much a person can do without burning out. By As let me start with w about my love for conferences, especially if they're paid for and abroad. in a way, it allowed me to keep traveling, which is so much love. In, my first year Beastie, I managed to spend three weeks in. Australia where never been before somewhere in the mountains beautiful place. at the form. And there are. A huge conference on different topics with two hundred. Students, not only be as there were just a few these most of them were in. From all over the world is shared my flats with someone from Pakistan right as an Israeli. F from the Philippines ends from South Korea and we went to arts events and I a events conferences about politics about health. All kinds of fields bunket, Moon spoke there prisons of Australia's spoke there I was invited as far as Israel delegation do very fancy dinner with people who worked at important banks and things like that. So this was like the big thing that I was very excited about enemies I might give per station about my research about a Mike Proposal and I got some really useful feedback from people from the field. So this was absolutely great. So in a way, it was a lot of fun at for me. It was free, but it was also different work because I got that feedback that I needed. Has to continue to projects, and then I've also spent some time in Brazil. which was the first time that was really great and I gave myself a few extra days in Rio. also about migration on a learned a lot about migration in the Global South 'cause, I focus very much Europe. And then I've done my trips to Germany for research. So this way, I get to travel been to Cairo in January for sight that have seen a beer minutes. For a conference of the. National Organization for Migration that's connected to the UN. And I presented my research on the bow dare. which was pretty cool and there will so policymakers there which is something I'm very much interested in going into after. Doing. The interesting. So also some networking definitely. And just to see how day spoke about similar topics outside of academia. So these are things that I love doing that definitely projects because you have to apply for these things especially if they involve money right and they need to plan all of your trip started dime and only Gives you a flight ticket place stay but doesn't say anything about the preparation of your actual doc or bolster at the conference. And then there you're also working 'cause you're networking is about your topic trying to get out be volts. Things like that. But for me, it was very motivating. It's It's everything I ever wanted to travel for work right. And besides that, I've always works next to my degrees I am getting scholarship, but it's not enough to survive off. So I'm working also for the center where I study. And they're responsible for organs of guest lectures like getting the guest lecturers in also from countries to speak to our students in English we also have trips for students plans, for example, to embassies here in Israel. So they can see what their options are after the grief. And also conferences and Colloquia. So this way I, really got to learn how to organize the these events and be working on something that's not so much research, but still helps with the network.

"We're going to be talking about how you got to where you are today in academic terms. So we've talked about So you're in Haifa Center for German and European Studies. You're doing a PhD on policy and perceptions of immigrants from the Middle East in. Europe. how did you get before talking about exactly what you working on? How did you get to the PHD? How was the whole academic journey for you? It all comes down to a big coincidence adds to the honest I. Didn't really know what I was getting into. When I signed up for BBC or or applied for position actually see what happened is data. I moved to from the Netherlands when from. partially to be able to go from the humanities. Faculty which I had had my Ian Levin's. To Straits ahead, go into political science, which is in social sciences. Different faculty in unknowns wasn't able to do that. Unless. Would have done a year in between to get some more courses than every year the University of Haiphong. Because I have taken some classes earlier recent conflicts, which also political science they allowed me to state go into get him. So that's one of the reasons that I moved here that I started doing that M. A. N. as I loved to science. I love the small programs with just a few students so that I could really choose my own self aches that have tonight. So when I wrote my master's thesis. And we are you, we opened up two positions for his suits with a scholarship. maybe you WANNA consider applying for us because my master's thesis was about the refugee crisis in Europe. So you're being center that was something interesting. So. I was like, well, you know I like what I'm doing I like the writing of first ongoing on the gap here in Salia and from there alright the application. Which I did from the Wifi at McDonald's. In, Australia was as a backpacker. I applied for the Specie position. After having spoken to. Supervisor Miami was over with. With that. Center. and. I am very happy to be hosting bolts costs what to do with Dad's. Because I get to listen to others. To hear a how they've been dealing with things and I'm also happy like you said before I confess that on people who are just starting now you mentioned something that I found really interesting and I didn't do that. I didn't think it was something possible. I didn't. It didn't arise in my mind you talked about taking a gap year. I'd like to talk about that and. Yet to talk about how you took that decision, how easy was it to take it and how you organize to be able to go backpacking in Australia that how Atlantis? Well. It's always been something on my mind right Australia as child's. To seeking room for real. To See all these amazing places where there's desert big cities. At. But also the tropics and everything in between. was. Something that was always on my mind and I learn about this program way to go on a working holiday visa. which that people with my nationality? For one year allowing you to work so that you could also finance your said there. and I knew that this was only possible until the age of certain. Now, not necessarily tell you how old I am now but I'm eating it. At some point you know before thirty, this is my goal in life is to make it to the and. This was the right time in my life because I just finished Ma I. Wasn't sure yet. What was GONNA do exactly with bats whether I was GONNA look for a job. Doncic’s 30-Point Triple-Double, Porzingis Lead Mavericks Past Pelicans In OT

"So now we look forward to the Dallas Mavericks who just had a pretty big game. They're in seventh place right now. Six would ideal like we talked about last podcast there in six place and the rest of the standings ended up as they are as of now they'd be up against the Denver Nuggets. Which in my opinion would be the easiest matchup for any team really in this western conference standings not to give any disrespect Denver Nuggets or what they've done all season their forty one and twenty. They're great team. But when you look at the Los Angeles Lakers the clippers even the rockets. Those teams just seem a little bit more intimidating so the Mavericks WanNa get higher up in the standings so that they can potentially dodge playing the Lakers or the Clippers. And so they're only half game back from doing this the To eclipsing the Oklahoma City thunder in the standings and so just few days after Lucas. Twenty first birthday he would be going up against Zion Williamson for the first time. And the Pelicans the Pelicans at this point are on a two-game Skid and Zion was playing his first ever back to back so this was a big deal because obviously when he first came back they were totally babying him and having him on minutes restriction not making play back to back and now he's filing gotten that level where he feels pretty comfortable. He's been in pretty good shape and so this is the first game back. It's good test for him to see where he's at physically the PELICANS would also be without. Jj riddick he'll probably offer a couple of weeks with an injury which is really unfortunate for them as they're trying to make this push to get into that last playoff spot so unfortunate for them but in this game it was so close and so back and forth there were thirteen lead changes in this one and eighteen times where the game was tied. The Mavericks would be the ones ahead at the end of the first quarter. Twenty four twenty two. They then had their lead extended out to eleven before the Pelicans brought close again and again and the Mavericks would have the halftime lead up by just two points at halftime. The Mavericks had eleven blocks so welcome to the block party. Three of them being against Zion. So crazy stat for the for the Dallas Mavericks but nothing would still separate these two teams in the third each team scoring thirty points each meaning. The Mavericks would still have a two point lead. The fourth quarter was much of the same very competitive very back and forth and for the majority of the fourth. The Mavericks would have the lead and any time that the Pelicans come close or even tie it as they did a few times in this one they would just push back out but with two and a half to go Ingram. Hit a big three to take the lead finally for the. Pelicans one zero seven one zero six he would then extend it out with a tough fadeaway so pelicans would go up by three then with the mavericks down by one with thirty six seconds ago. It was currie not steph curry his brother. Seth Curry who would regain the lead on a huge three in the corner? And so now the Pelicans down one twelve one nine and seven seconds left Nikola Meli who had missed his last six three pointers. Got The inbounds. Pass put it up and knocked it down to tie the game and send it into overtime with porzingas missing a fadeaway game winner. So what kind of confidence do you have to have when you've missed six three pointers in a row? But the US do they draw up. They didn't drop the play for me to take this three. There's no way he was just the open guy. They gave it to him and he shot it with confidence which is something you should give them a pat on the back door because if I've missed six threes in a row I'm not taking another one for the rest of the game. I wouldn't have missed six zero because I wouldn't have taken that many but could also him for you know lock in and putting it down so great clutch bus bucket there for the Pelicans to try and take this one and not with the game tied at one eighteen in overtime with one eleven to go. It's a Luca. Danni H who hits a step back three Super Clutch? Take the lead late. In the game and later he would then split defenders with a pass and find Porzingis who goes and spikes it down extending their lead to one twenty. Three one. Nineteen effectively icing. This game the Mavericks would win this game. One Twenty seven one twenty three and this game could honestly not have been any tighter. It was close the entire game. Both both teams kind of pushing out for some leads but then again at the end of each quarter they would just come back to two point deficits and then tied obviously to go to overtime so and crazy game where stupor back and forth very competitive and it was just a great game to watch the Mavericks into this game. We're just five and fifteen in games decided by five points or less so they're not necessarily clutch when it comes down to the wire they seem to always drop games but for whatever reason in this one they came out on top and we're able to hold on for a big reason. Why are there two budding? Stars and Luca Danni Jake and Kris Porzingis.

The Steph Curry comparisons are unfair to Trae Young, but they won't go away

"We now safely say the trae young is the next steph curry. I if you want to. I don't know there's so many other things that I have to worry about. I don't if you WANNA do that. Go ahead you'RE NOT GONNA I'm not GonNa Yell at you and go. He's not the next steph curry. I do like this though the approaches. Yeah but does he play defense? Can we stop with this? How many how many guys play defense in the NBA? But let me stop somebody in crunch time. Can anybody stop him by being declared the next anybody? You're already less than them. Because that's your title like Steph. Curry was the first do it that way and so the next curry means you're automatically below them. You're an imitator. I mean it's great. He's fantastic player but he's basically modeling his craft. Well that's why you don't want people were there. Everybody's looking for the next Larry Bird. Mike member Keith. Van Horn as the next Larry Bird now. Luca Danni checks next Larry Bird. No LUCA IS DIFFERENT THAN LARRY. Bird he might be better than Larry. Bird a when it's all said and done on out there we keep waiting for the next Michael Jordan. Kobe became the original. The first Koby we keep going. Oh He's the next and and you're not who is ever the next. We love comparisons. We love cops but it doesn't always work that way and usually if it's a white guy who's good then you find another white guy who is you know got similar skillset. Glad Yeah. Googles is the next Larry Bird UNC. But until that person becomes the first they're always going to be on next you know because you haven't seen it yet so it hasn't even been identified. When do you graduate to? I'm no like when did Kobe. He's not the next Jordan. He's Kobe did he. Oh I think he did well. No he wasn't the next. Nobody's the next Jordan. You can't be now possible now if you want to say. He plays like him great when Kobe went black. Mamba then he became the original Kobe. And he wasn't the next Michael Jordan. Because we realize there's not going to be another Larry Bird just not. There'll be players who might be similar. Might be better. But there's that's the original Muhammed Ali. This not the original. Might be guys who turn out to be better. But they're the originators. Yeah pulling yeah like Koby Bryant. He he appeared to watch documentaries he admittedly modeled everything after Michael Jordan and he came up about this short of having an equal career to Michael Jordan. If you look I mean considering how close he was to the time of Michael Jordan. He over and he was really close to having an equal career.

NBA 2020 Predictions

"About My tween twenty bold predictions now. This isn't just for the regular season. This is for the off season. This is the beginning of next season to these addiction that I think that potentially could happen. I'm going to say them here today. And maybe you can agree with me some. You may think this crazy in some you might agree with. We'll have to see my first pro. Prediction is that both L. A.. Neither one of the LA teams will not make the Western Conference finals. I think a team will beat them or since the clippers. Don't take care too much about seeding in the Lakers. Stay the number one seed if the clippers land four or five. They'll play the clippers in the second row. They'll play Lakers around. which would men? 'cause obviously semifinals matchup US and other Western Conference finals match. But I also feel like there may be a team that could upset me maybe Houston is probably the most likely that could upset one of the LA teams and. I think that they're going to keep them from making the the the Western Conference finals. I know a lot of people were expecting that to happen. A lot of people are wanting to happen. I'm sure it will be great for the Lee but I really think that that's something in my opinion that I think is going to happen. That's one of my first. Bold predictions of the twenty twenty season in further on my eh prediction is that the Golden State Warriors will form another super team. Now I don't know if there's going to be with Jaanus. It could be a cry towns because Golden State is monitoring situation but Golden State clearly knows. Listen with the way the League is if we want to be on topic how can we need to get an update US another super team together and I think that they're definitely trying very hard to get another another star player in there now. I do like that. Probably means that's the end of Draymond Green. But I think that's what they're aiming for taming to get their aiming to get another star in there to see to come back with clay and to come back with Steph potentially really they can make you trade for star because they if they do get a top three lottery pig. deathly do not be surprised. If they try to make a trade with that pick honestly they honestly could have just picked up an amazing asset for them because they could use that as trade bait in. That's good trait rate. You know maybe the team star is disgruntled. Maybe you never know. I mean this isn't somebody would think about like the sons have another bad year. We'll we'll give you our top pick and another guy. And we want Devon Booker. Obviously Yona how that work I mean you know. They're kind of doing the right now. And the end of the Russell even yeah no. We Really Devon Booker may be a better player Neanderthal Russell. But that's definitely a prediction I think could potentially happen. I think that the warriors warriors will form another super team. But it's not going to be as top heavy instrument of Kevin Durant who like the second best player in the League. That's why think if they got Jaanus it would be stacked because of state Stephan Klay can play like they play and then they completely put a better supporting cast around. Then you could say okay. Yeah this team is going to be very tough to beat. Even laker teams have a team. They may be looking up to but it will have to see because if they get any towns houses. This is a great player but we don't view him as view when Kevin Durant was there which means even though it would be very top heavy west conference. But that's when also and my pro predictions one of my other pro predictions. Are I think that revenue from the C.. BA will increase which will lead to more players undeserving of big major contracts. Getting big major contracts. I'm going to say any names. But it's like okay. Well I'll say this because I don't know if he's GonNa get it but there are people who are sometimes wonder now dre walgreens supposed to be a free agent this offseason offseason Draymond Green. We know he's not a guy who's going to score points we can do live. And he's a great gadget player. I would say but some people wonder. Would somebody pay draymond green the Max would they give draymond green that Max deal. That is something they definitely wonder about and like a question. Like why would you give you Max. If if there's more money to be spent draymond green could potentially ask for Max and if you like laundry a month you might give them close to it. I mean we already have players now. who try to sign that? First Max deal then take a shorter deal. Just didn't end up getting of that. Ten Year supermax dill. But you know it's one of those those things where I think that this will lead to more players being signed overpaid and I mean you obviously can see more cat room. It can lead the teams being in very weird financial situations with cap every team six Performing up to expectation and then you played a lot of guys a lot of money who may have never actually deserve the money in the first place so. I think that that's going to be something that's going to be interesting another addiction I have is. I think that James Harden will make it to the NBA Finals Cheer. I know that's pretty big. That basically means you're saying he's GonNa beat one or both La Teams. I think James Harden. This would be the best year for him to do it. I think right now this I flew. This is his best year do it. So I'M GONNA go ahead mcnabb. Oh predicts names hard. It's GonNa make the finals. These the rockets are GonNa make the finals. This may be shocking to you. But that's how I feel. I feel like that. Jr potentially do it. I feel like if he was able to average at least thirty in the playoffs and Russell could give him about twenty twenty three. That's fifty three between the two players and they have some good supporting cast. You can't forget about. PJ Tucker can't forget about Erik. Gordon Clink Appel. You definitely feel like they have all the potential attention in the world so potentially be a top team and so I would not be surprised if they end up being the top team they think they can be and making it to the NBA NBA finals. This year in basically just creating just such a great agree moment for the city Houston also another prediction. I think Diane if he comes back as soon as they say he come back. We'll still win rookie of the year. I think Zaylon has all the talents. Be A star of Zion. Comes back in balls out in just twenty points a game in gives you a lot of highlight plays. I think he will be able to squeeze out winning rookie year only only playing half of the year again. That's a pretty bold prediction but as I've anybody can do a Zairean can all takes his cause. Remember even the Luca one owned by a lot last year. You trae young exciting second half which made it interesting and don't be. We don't feel like John Moran is doing with Luca Danni last year so it's not as far fetched is not as it's not like oh it's completely impossible for Luca played so well and then trae young play well in the New Year but he's still play. Okay well it's like John Mirant is playing. Maybe the best right now. But he's not playing at local level from last year so of Zion can have maybe a trae young like surge in the second half of the season. I think he'll go ahead and win the rookie year. But it all depends on when he gets back. 'cause I do if he didn't get back to maybe mid February with that he wouldn't. It's only two months left in the season. At that point. He has to probably get back to move in the next two weeks and then just start going on a tear from game one because dial is full practice recently so he's clearly about to get there. Obviously you've seen him take jumpers you've seen him dunk Donc so I definitely things I on can win the rookie year if he gets back in time and my last bowl prediction is that the Atlanta Hawks will add a star player. This off season. I don't know who but I feel. They're gonNA add some but I feel like some of the issues they've had I flipped. They're going to add a star. Because I feel like you need to especially to make trae WANNA stay there because rotations rumblings that he might and I wanna stay. That may be something that you may want to do. If Your Hawks Front office you need to add some talent in their yep some good young talent but you're going to you know how it is as league view in a win you're gonNA have to give up that good young talent for solidified star. Obviously I feel like trays untouchable. But maybe Kevin Heard. Or maybe you D Andre One hundred maybe a cam reddish maybe push them shelby John Collins and I think they're gonNA make a trade for a proven star in this league and we'll have to see whoever that star is how far the Atlanta Hawks may potentially get because of it but that's it for me thank you for listening listening to the GMC football basketball podcast on the GMC podcast network. Using AI in Malawi to Save Elephants

"Officials are using artificial intelligence and machine learning to stay one step ahead of poachers cheers and keep elephants from killing villagers. NPR's Dina Temple Ralston reports from allow as part of the NPR series. I'll be seeing you about the technologies that watch us. The best way to get close to. An elephant is to use an old-fashioned tracking method. We saw the fresh. Dung piles along the road and followed those found him in this clearing. It's an enormous elephant is money grass less than twenty feet in front of us. It's magical the one day. National Park is two hundred square miles of seems leans just like that and seeing them makes it hard to believe that just four years ago the park was on the verge of collapse so I always describe me Wendy as we founded as being in a state of terminal decline. That's park manager Craig Reid. He arrived here four years ago with a nonprofit organization called African parks and his job job was to bring Lewanda back from the brink so fictitiously what would have happened. Had we not intervened would be a title elimination of all laws laugh over the ten in year period following the things that go wrong in a failed park go wrong very fast in the Wendy's case it went beyond crumbling infrastructure or washed out roads poaching was endemic. An elephants were killing villagers outside the park various. Danni has a small house just outside the park's fence line. He's a retired retired schoolteacher. My heart disease fifty meters from the this fifty meters from the data's. Donny is a subsistence farmer and he and his family rely on the garden for food. He grows mangoes and corn and rice which happened to be three of an elephants favorite foods. Elephants have a sweet tooth so proximity limited food and opportunity. That's all you need to spark a human elephant conflict. This is the sound from a video of an elephant charging in the one day after hippos elephants kill more people in Africa than any other animal. Try shoeing and elephant off a field and and this is what you face an adult female ways over three tons. A bull elephant is typically over six park manager. Craig reads has being killed by an elephant is a horrifying thing these big bulls will charge a person and when people are caught by an elephant that nominate using yeah trunk knocked him to the ground and then kneel on them crushing other within knees or with the base of the trunk which at that point Zoll killed buildup and almost activist done. Zahi is seen it happen. You said several years ago a herd of elephants came out of the park and into the field I did he was designed to serving working without the seven people killed in one day. These kinds of deadly episodes have a ripple effect. Smugglers and international cartels will look for local farmers not done Sanni who have had these kinds of run INS with elephants and they'll promise them enough money to buy food for their families. All they

NBA proposes lowering draft age to 18 amid Zion Williamson injury backlash

"Design injury reverberated all over sports and in the league. And allow players tweeted about it, including Danni who simply put it with four simple words, go play in Europe. What is he trying to say there, he stating the obvious? But the difference is if you look in the mirror it's easier for Luca to play overseas because he grew up there, and he gets a chance to do it while he's thirteen fourteen fifteen years old as a high school prospect the best trajectory overall. And I said it this is what ninety eight percent of players actually, do it is to go to college. I know the ideas should be like tears, Ferguson. He went over school. He went overseas. Everybody forgot about Brandon Jennings. Did it as well? There have been players that have done it. And it is available to you. I'm not going to advise the player to play in the G Lee. No. So if you got a chance to go to a major college play big time basketball, get better every day be on a big state and increase your market value. The last time I checked how much do playing at the university of Michigan being a member of the five help value would not be sitting in that chair right now if you did not go to Michigan B member of the fep also Zayn Williams win played for Olympia, close or whatever we would not be talking about right now, if he exploded a shoe playing in Madrid, we would not be talking about the exposure that comes with the college system, and you know, the broadcasters that broadcast those games like us make it such that it is advantageous for a high school prospect who go to college instead of other option, those days could be separate but equal they're gonna be people argue with what you just said and talked about why the player brings value to college and not the other way around. But those things don't have to be mutually exclusive. The thing is out of high school. You should be allowed to enter the draft. Go to college there should be. So former revenue share says that doesn't take place at least holes in coverage. So now all we do is debated for publican sumptious.

Kyrie Irving might rest 'aching' knee before playoffs begin

"Great young players he's still young as you said wouldn't you imagine that they're being extra cautious with him giving the playoffs being around the corner as they should as they already get their seed locked up if they get arrested him two weeks rustam two weeks ten in is the type of thing reading about it on online saying what what are the players have done it's the type of thing that rests is probably the greatest anecdote for that well and yesterday agent warden ascii reported that his soreness is no more than tendinitis and he'll not need to miss any significant time and easing even as of now he's considered daytoday rub some third on it meaning it's not anything structural solar and naming hail they've played sixty something games you know anyplace minutes i mean you need gonna get so or i don't i i would i would i would worry about it unless there's some kind of structural thing or if there is i think you're being a little too scary on this i always scared of injuries i always do it's what can prevent players from achieving their greatness sweats paul was always a concern with kristaps porzingis it's always the concern i think i think medical it's like with the nba draft you're probably not going to draft the guy let's get to look at his medical records it's the most important thing so yes i am very worried about that with any player when they have especially lower body injuries let's talk about the as tournament starting this week and the fact that this is great scouting time right because so many of the you know the last couple of years full wasn't involved in the ncaa tournament simmons wasn't involved in the ncaa tournament and yet when you look down all the outside of luca danni which obviously plays overseas virtually everybody that is predicted to go in the lottery is going to be involved in this nc double a tournament i think i think actually all of that hank goodness yeah i don't think there's anybody that's not going to be there you know trae young i swear when they came out as a ten seat on sunday i was like what in the hell i've been.
