Let Us Not Forget All of Andrew Cuomo's Shameful Scandals

"Want to dive into talking about governor. Andrew cuomo's resignation. I mentioned last segment that two days ago i guest hosted for danis and it was my second segment of the show. And i remember sean. The technical director telling it to me in my ear. And i thought oh my gosh so i was. I was lucky enough to break it on air the other day and my immediate reaction was how he able to get away with this stuff. Not just the sexual assault allegations but the nursing home scandal. This we have known about this for a year and finally governor. Cuomo has no choice but to resign and the media has no choice but to report it. Some could say well the media didn't know they know that he was harassing all of these women. I don't quite buy that. I think perhaps the media did not now but it was a willful ignorance. They didn't want to know there've been rumors circulating for years about governor cuomo's conduct with women way before he became governor and there's also a lot of evidence that he's been playing dirty political games for years. I encourage all of you to go online and find out more information about the smear campaign that andrew cuomo was believed to have run on mayor. Edward coche back in the seventies when his father koch. Excuse me koch back in the seventies when his father mario cuomo was running for mayor and koch and cuomo were competing for the democratic slot for mayor and andrew. Cuomo was working at the time on his father's campaign and cauti- was believed to be gay. And it is also believed that andrew cuomo put out a horrible smear campaign in an effort to publicize that fact and discredit him. So i again. I encourage all of you to look up the slogan on the internet. It's it's terrible and and dive into that because it really it really shows the way that andrew cuomo place he plays dirty

"But took them to a championship last year. Could it be the perfect storm. I don't know. I'm not holding my breath but i wouldn't totally rule it out either. I think a lot of it has to do with how maverick and probably get along. Because that like we've seen over mavericks entire motogp career seems to be critical to performance on the track. Now while there was a decent amount of discussion about the maverick daniela's side of this equation. I think even more people were interested in the yamaha. Half and who's going to replace maverick next year and how that's all going to work out whether that rider goes directly to the factory team or if they land up us instead. Dj posted a pair of polls over them. Read it about. Who should get that maverick than y'all as seed and who should get the free petronas bike and the vast majority of respondents myself included said the franken morbidelli makes the most sense for yamaha at the factory level. Fifty seven out of the seventy people who responded said yep frankie's your guy doesn't matter if he's been off a little bit this year and of course he's injured as well now that of course then beg the question of who should take over frankie seat. That's a question that sh- news bart also asked and is separate poem. Read it and i found all of those results from both polls quite interesting because garrett girl off got the highest vote total if you combine both polls and then second to him was raul fernandez. Now don't get mad at me. Because i actually voted for fernandez in both of those polls but it was all based on current potential and there is no question that role fernandez is tearing it up motoo and has all the makings of a really good modo. gp rider. His upside is really really big. And if yamaha kengo after him they absolutely should try to do so now could they get him to sign a contract. I'm thinking no i mean. Ktm is going to keep a pretty tight grip on their youngster. Even if it means changing their plan for him last minute and moving fernandez up the tech three after all next season because of that. Because it's going to be so hard for yamaha to give fernandez. yes i think. Fernandez is the best option yamaha. But i think the garrett girl off is a far more realistic target for yamaha. And i think that's why so many people voted for him and i'm perfectly fine with that although in the interest of full disclosure. I'm a little bit biased. When i say that. Because obviously i want to see the american writer on the motor. Gp grade. And i'm not the only one Care cpr. skull had forty six alien night. Neil racing armchair jump rage all rooting for the us rider to get the spot on the grid and he might not be the only country that gets brand new representation on the motor gp grid next year. I'm racing armchair said something very similar to tattooed raven who thinks that there is a good possibility that valentino rossi retires that we could see both garrett girl off and jake dixon who's currently on a petronas bike emoto to both get the call to the petronas motor. Gp team seeing as both would fill preferred slot for dohrn. You'd get an american and you get a british rider back on the grid now. Thinking of it that way yes. There is risk in bringing both of those riders to moto g performance. Wise for sure but like tattooed raven was saying if girl off gets one of those seats and rides. Well then it may make yamaha take. Us riders more seriously and the same is true when it comes to jake. Dixon and i would argue that everybody in the paddock would take them more seriously now. British riders have a lot less stigma attached to them right now than a us. Ryder does. but that isn't important thing. I mean what tattooed raven was saying is a very good point that before you can get over that hump before you can get manufacturers to take routers from a particular country more seriously somebody has to be able to step up and take you back to last year when joe roberts was asked to get on the apprecia- and he said no in one of the main reasons that he gave for saying though was that he didn't want his passport to get him on the grid and i understand that attitude. I think it's admirable to not want to be handed something because of where you're from you on it because of how you're riding how you're performing but at the same time. If joe roberts was on that probably right now then maybe he would be proving to everybody else from the paddock. That you better take riders from the us more seriously and actually helping garrett girl off get the omaha gig so yes on one hand. Joe is being very you know noble by not wanting to you know. Skip ahead in line. But he was also giving up the opportunity to open the door for other writers. And that's what garrett girl off may be able to do and to a lesser extent. Jake dixon because like i said. I think we all know that. British riders are really really. Good world. Just needs to rediscover that there are some. Us riders out there. That are really good as well. Now as far as petronas's concerned. I could see that possibility happening with both girl off and dixon because they're both in house options. I mean girl off. Sorry working directly with yamaha world superbike dixon directly with petronas motoo. And i'm pretty sure that dorner would toss in some extra financial assistance for the team if they made room for both not. That patrol is struggling to find cash right now but there is another question here especially when it comes to garyk girl off and that's whether a world superbike transplant. Even when that's been there a short of a time as garrett has can successfully make the jump to mow g. p. and that is definitely something that will.

In in in canada i would assume for the next star the next season the leafs. It's funny me because you know the montreal canadians. I should be a montreal canadian's fan but always always I guess the good thing for me. I was always watching when i was younger. english television television shows. And i think that's a blessing. Now since i don't have an accent so really important for that. Most of the people from have an accent on these english. So that's a blessing. I do feel about nowadays. It's it's sort of waste of time not not in the end of sense but they have other things to do this here. They didn't so long since ran for now. And but it's great and to at the studio this show on. Day had been operated on like seventy s before so they really carry the ball and didn't know what the hell they were doing a moments from them. It's a testament to that. These aren't when you get into this industry. You don't just do it to get a paycheck. This is something that you love something you're passionate about and you know obviously the type of people you guys all are and it really because you have shared patched him. There's that family feel of like. Of course we cover for each other in you know. We'll we'll take the song eleven and again. That stuff is apparent from the work that you guys deal in appreciation you all hold hunts and there's testimonials to nothing makes me feel better. You know in poker as you know most of these people most of the players on onto sword. But there's two things from that. I think maybe it's more of an industry thing but If you ask andrew niimi has brad owen if yes taunt yes. The run good poker series people dave. The winning awards have opened opportunities for them know. Brad said that he could sell himself as a award-winning poker vlogger. That's pretty impressive. Ton of the same things on the casino started calling that been called before. No that's that's really amazing stories for them and for those that receive trophies. They're like whatever. I don't wanna trophy. They'd happens to when they win right. They win in poker. Didn't want the trophy. They want the money. And that's great. But i was tell people. Don't forget that your aunt might be on facebook and going. Oh my god my. My niece is a poker champion. You know it could be an award from us. It could be a world series bracelet you know. I think it's sometimes we might forget about that. That for people and for people if you're from my hometown small hometown that's cool to them. And you're in the local paper saying they. "We'll switch gears a little. You know obviously as you had alluded to before the pandemic when there's no live. There's no life tokar results to report and thankfully wesley. We're really coming out of that dark period most places around the developed world. I'm kind of wondering though to to have weathered the storm to still be around obviously in a sixteen months later. How did you and your team pivot done. A few things and it was bad for a while. And you mentioned alex dreyfus and the media wrecks that owns a jeep gynendra mob. There were great to us in twenty twenty year. Was you know we were so proud. And twenty nine thousand nine to actually turn the most miniscule prophets and that's the goal here. The goal is not to make you know the goal before us to be. We wanna make money been on. The goal is to make sure that my five six people on my staff get paid and that we provide great service for everyone. And that's it you know that's the the mantra from from the higher ups and stay. That does not a the by the way kind of statement. That's a huge thing. That people ought to realize i didn't know that that's it's just that it's impossible. Robbie we need to hire people people just think that you know websites just run by themselves and just a database of the amount of events. We're getting from korea now for example. That's almost one of my guys doing that. Every day. just korea so so we have to add more people so the thought is that it. It's to provide a service and you know back in in the alex days. He had grander ideas because he was trying to make money. You know you know. We realized that that doesn't necessarily make sense for us. As long as we can cover the bills. That's great You know if he can make a few more dollars. I can give to my staff. That's even better But we're we're aware of that but in two thousand twenty. Obviously that was really a big struggle for us so we just try to challenge yourself One thing that we kept on hearing about were these big online tournaments. The big ones not not not the regular day to day ones. The big ones were real. Names are known as g. G g. G w supe- were the first to really are sorry party. Poker achy was first. And then eugene w so p Started publishing real name. So you know. I reached out bradley. The president and editor in chief at pocket-sized because we do have a great relationship with pocket. Fives we still share a lot of our data on on each site and try to get his wanted. His blessing would not have done it. Hypocrisy is what he said. No you cannot add these things there. that'd be like us adding the world series main event. That'd be coming. After the others business so lance was gracious and the whole team occupies graded working with us at first and it's still not one hundred percent we still you know..

"Obsessed with checking you know even when i'm not i'm looking at prices and thinking okay. Why is this so why is hiring. Now is all that stuff. I get obsessed with but i'm sure that a lot more numbers come into mind. I sadly have that memory that has like numbers in the brain where someone will say something. That was january sixteenth. Like why do you remember that i write. I sadly i'd rather not. I'd rather have another memory. You know the older you get you start. I remember turning fourteen going all right. I actually i used to self proclaim. I probably know you when it comes to snatch the most in poker. And i don't i don't anymore like my memories are rough now. I'll have to remember right. That's true but it takes me a little longer. Usually it's not like who won the forgotten. Two thousand four. Like i don't know but then you'll give me a hinting all right. So is this a lot of puzzle and like oh so it was. I can't tell you. I don't know alan gehring. It's probably not good. Guess we'll see a little test that ever so slightly a little bit later hashtag or shadowing you'd appreciate you said you really started getting into card games really started getting into poker did you want. Did you ever see yourself sort of as a you know wanting to be a professional player or you know. I want to get involved somehow work in the industry. I mean it's a. It's a relatively tiny industry especially in the nineteen nineties when you're watching them on. Tv in canada. It was you know minutes so like what how did you sort of see yourself fitting into something. Poker always had always loved reporting and all that stuff but also still love for broadcasting and when when joe sebok started his little adventure polka road. Or you know you know what is what the names were before then. That really really piqued my curiosity..

"Today's guest is the president of the global poker index and hamden mob. Eric johnnie an absolute treasure trove of trivia as relates to everything about stats numbers in the world. Eric leads the equivalent of poker's elias. Sports bureau he also proudly presides over our industry's annual awards ceremony and is just one of the nicest and most pleasant people you'll ever meet today. We'll get to know him a little better eric. Welcome to the cards. Jack podcasts grubby. you'll get a love letter from my mom. You pronounce my last name correctly. That's it's all about some good to see again to speak with you how you been. It's been a while right. It's been well last time. I saw your on screen accepting an award so it has been. It has been okay. I will admit that in the last three weeks my wife me on the laptop in the bed at nine. Pm it's been a while since that happens. We're busy we're busy. We actually had you know last week. The guys told me that we have backlogged and tickets. That's amazing upset. But i was excited so really does look like things are slowly but surely getting back to normal and schedule is it. Looks like a lot of events or coming down the pipe and the busier. The poker world is the busier the happier. We are because that's what we do. So show absolutely wonderful. Well definitely going to get into the whole pandemic period for you guys and pivoting in and out and stuff but let's start at the beginning. Who is every. i know. I know you're interested in poker and card game started as a kid up in canada. So tell us about those days in card playing back in the family in french canada. It is pretty much was. It's not anymore but once tradition. Saturday nights or hockey night in canada or less walkie-talkie For us friendship people and everyone would come over. I remember i used to. We used to have a house where Me and my family were on the top level and my grandparents were on the bottom level and every saturday my grandma would put on a feast and the uncles and both sides of the family would come over. I mean we had a very close knit family. Both sides together and then undoubtedly cards would be pulled in. And i learned cribbage. These guys were playing games even to this day They're planning to pay income. Five hundred which. I don't know if it's just a canadian game where there's always variance oddest stuff and to this day. They're experts at that game in the cheat so well you know. Just do the smooth cheating where you're like wait a minute now. I get what's going on so you know they're great at that but cribbage was always you know when i was young and then my grandfather and i would play my father and i would play and with some of my friends so definitely if you would ask e what your car game i would get into As a profession. If i was a child i would have said cribbage and in highschool actually came out with a cribbage stats as part of a math project and my teacher was blown away in like. You're really wasting your time here. There's no future in this statistical format but it actually helped our my buddy alan i Up until maybe ten years ago we always used to play you know Retirement homes be invited to play cribbage tournaments knights of columbus in in canada. There's a lot of criminal there and we were like the young. The young studs you know is funny to be like thirty eight years old and be called a young a young guy so i would use. I feel when..

"When did adhd. I come on your radar. And i love that. We're talking about. Adhd and not combining adhd with add. Because i think a lot of times they get lumped together. And i think it's important to to talk about the differences in fact maybe we could. We could start there with some of the differences between. Add adhd add is actually a term that is no longer being used In the dsm or anything it's adhd with hyperactivity or without arm so adhd or add was formerly known as is now called adhd without hyperactivity which is a mouthful. But i didn't. I didn't use to say no that either 'cause i definitely have people in my life. Who had been diagnosed with. Add and so. It's just one of the many. Jose tidbits that i have been learning because this is like a process for me to of self-discovery 'cause i don't have. I love psych in high school in college but My training is a visual communication design. So i do really get to learn so much myself. And about your. adhd general. But i can that was like a little side tangent. But like i can talk about the differences between the two kind of types if that might be useful so our and then combined type which is what i have and so adhd with hyperactivity not just has hyperactivity which can look different. Depending on the person for boys it might be a little mar- you know obvious which is why guys tend to get diagnosed younger because they might be the kid running over the place and climbing on stuff at the rest to climb on constantly fidgeting sort of thing and girls get missed a lot who might even have hyperactive type like because we tend to be much more. Chatty we're like very chatty distracting other people with like wanting to talk constantly fidgeting with our hair and it's it's a little more subtle ways that you wouldn't necessarily think of hyperactivity

"Are the host of the show. Yes how how fun is it to be able to kind of step out of that comfort zone and do something a little bit. Different in and sort of expand your horizons creatively with with crazy girls it so different When i first went into the show. I was a swaying men. Eventually a fulltime spot opened so i was offered that spot so then i became a full time dancers. I work six nights a week. One show a night and about a year and a half into the show My producer came up to me and they were looking to change up the middle act. They had they had a male that did comedy in magic on and things of that nature at the time and he had been in the show for a very long time if something like eight or ten years but they were looking to switch up that whole vibe and put a female that could host the show so that they could keep it all women in the show and he came up to me and he was like a danny. Is your new york italian. You like to talk to people. Or what do you put together fifteen minutes and show me and i was a cashier okay. That sounds great. Well i started doing that. And you realize fifteen minutes versus a long time somebody you know. I've never spoken on stage. I've never spoken that capacity before with an audience. So then i realized what i got myself into what once i commit to something. I have to do it so i was like well. If this is all completely shit then he'll just say nope not you and he'll go a different route and i'll just continue dancing happily. Show 'cause i really enjoy it so fast forward about a month and a half later and he wants to see stuff and now it's changed one eighty since that point but He likes you know the bones of what i had and i kept narrowing things down in tightening things up and now i have a solid ten to twelve minutes that i speak in the middle of the show. And some of it's just conversational. And i talked to different audience members and then some of that is You know jokes i do. Little one liners little stories with a joke backgrounds and things that happened in my life for friends around me. And and i i love it. It's it's it's become a a new hobby of mine so much to the point. Where now i've been dabbling with. I'm doing standup and trying to write my own original great content and then i just had done my first Open mic night here in las vegas. It was a tuesday. It was the first time that i was like okay. I'm gonna do this. There's probably going to be people that we know in town. It's okay i'm just getting there. This is for me and gotta have fun. So i did it. It went really well. And i was looking forward to coming back and doing the next week. There are definitely some things that i needed to improve on that first time and that was on a tuesday and then it was sunday in the world shutout now i just finally like what my big girl pants on instead of. Good talk myself into doing this. Another world shutdown. Give me lots of time to work on things and think about as well. I have to say hats off to you. And i admire you in a big way for taking the step out of your comfort zone and trying something. Like stand up comedy. I've i've gotten to know a few stand up comedians and spent time with them and and and it never ceases to amaze me how easy they make it look and it's not easy to do by any stretch of the imagination and as you said fifteen minutes that is forever are especially now that i know you know you know i can. I can get on stage. And i can talk to people and i can stretch that out for some time but if you're You know perfecting the craft of comedy in your following that you know there should be a laugh or joke. Every fifteen seconds. Fifteen seconds divided by fifteen minutes of the law of jokes a lot and god forbid something falls flat and there is no fifty sweating right now just thinking about but it's also what makes it so much fun to that's what gets my adrenaline going. I love a good you know adrenaline rush. Xactly exactly i wanna talk about covid and the pandemic and all of that. Now that's affected you guys it it. It kills me to see show shutdown and my friends people that i consider family that i see more often than i see my real family. I used to see more often than i see my real family going through all of this. But it's amazing. How so many of you guys have managed keep busy throughout the pandemic and stay in front of an audience even if it's just a virtual audience You've managed to do that in some great ways and some really interesting ways folks. That may not know. You're engaged to murray the magician. Had on the podcast yes. Murray's an awesome guy and and was so much fun to talk to and you guys have kept so busy through this doing so many different things we really have. It's been a great time. You know and marina before coded were both so busy all the time you know doing my show and him doing his and then he had just got a guest spot physician and another show down the strip so now he was doing two shows and You know six nights a week and and even on our days off. Sometimes we'd be picking up gigs or or different jobs here there so we never had a whole lot of time to do the things that you know people that work. Maybe a normal schedule and have like a a friday night until monday morning off to go do a weekend trip and things of that nature. So we've gotten to see family members. We got to go up to canada for the first time and see where he grew up. He got to show me that and hang out with mom saw job and then we got to go. Upstate new york and see my parents and i got to show him around where i grew up. All my favorite spots. And now where. I was wonder woman and all sorts of fun. You know little day trips and And then we also started landscaping business called dirt dreams landscaping and. It's really taken off. I mean we started just putting some flyers out word of mouth and and had a couple big jaws. we'd go and and reduce somebody's backyard. That might take us two to three days. And so those are a little bit more sporadic but now we have received a couple. Hoa contracts and we're doing like a dozen houses a week where we're going out and trimming bushes and trees in doing yard cleanups and then you we get the couple once or twice a week. We get one of the big projects to do something super like you know transform. Somebody's backyard which is also one of our favorite Projects to do. Because we're so creative that you get to design this new yard for you know for somebody to enjoy their space. So that's been great. And i also do massage therapy so and i do that out of my home and and i'm still taking clients as long as everybody is. You know everybody's falling the covert rules So that keeps me busy and marines back to work which is awesome. He's like one of the only shows on a strip that's actually performing And you know so. We're still keeping busy but we've enjoyed this time to have a more experiences time together and it's really been great for us. I guess somebody told me the other day like yep cove it at either tears apart or builds up a relationship and we got engaged so ours is a buildup situation. That's so awesome. And i love hearing the the positive stories that are coming out of this. You're not the first person i've talked to. Who said you know what it's been kind of nice to be able to take this step away and focus on some passion projects that we haven't been able to work on for the last x. number of years because we've been doing a headlining show on the strip seven nights a week and just going crazy out of our minds busy and i think it's really cool that you guys have have stepped out and done something so different from entertainment for yourself and murrieta to do something like that. I think is is really really cool. He's so good at it too. I mean Between between the two of us we own three houses and he did his front and backyard of both houses that he owns he built a fireplace. He built a little mini. Putt putt on the side of the house. And then on the house. That i own a couple years ago. This is before he even have the idea like. Hey i think we should start a because i think we should do that You know during kobe. The he's doing stuff for years and so we redid the front yard of the house that i own and then during the pandemic when we got to go visit my siblings We redid her little patio back area and put in some fake grass. And so we've just been finding ourselves to keep busy. In general during the pandemic is saying. Oh look do you need your backyard. Something you buy the supplies. We'll come and redesigned for you and then we realized hey we should probably Maybe make us into a business while Oh yeah we don't have jobs so yeah it's been awesome. Speaking of getting back out and performing one of the best parts about going to a vegas show was the intimacy of it. And you're in this room and you're not very far from the performance you know you can see them clearly and they can see you clearly. And you're you're in there tight with a bunch of strangers and just really enjoying a show As things start to open up and they opened up with restrictions how do you see this effecting ah show for example. Like crazy girls. How is this going to affect the the audience experienced the The performer experience. What what do you foresee as as the big changes. I guess the real answer is we won't know until we get there. But i think without a doubt in my mind that first of all i don't think that entertainment will go anywhere because entertainment is what it's people's escape. It's what makes people smile at. You know it's it's what they look forward to doing in their free time to. You know to lift their spirits. So i think that there's always going to be a need and want for entertainment. I think the capacity of what is going to do well as is definitely going to change once the world comes back. i think For our show crazy girls like ratio is well because they're smaller shows And they have less overhead and cheaper ticket prices comparative seeing some big production show like a cirque show. I think that they're going to thrive. I think that people are going to appreciate shows more. And because of that they'll be more selective and and we'll have better audiences and People that really want to be there and that need it. And i think that crazy girls is going to really thrive when we're able to open back up and get back to doing what we're love. Hopefully that's sooner rather than later. Yeah hopefully sooner than later. you know. we're hoping by the spring. You know there's talk it could be next week but that probably be the case Just because of where the pandemic said and you know where the world's out with how many vaccines have been released in south but there is improvement. There is the light at the end of the tunnel and I know it will definitely happen. It's just a matter of time and you know our our state right now. Still under some fairly strict restrictions our state guidelines just due to trying to keep everybody healthy but as time goes on and there's more vaccines and the numbers drop more more and the likeliness of us coming back. You know hopefully sooner than later and if people wanna keep up with you on social media. You're quite active particularly on instagram. How would a person go about finding you danny showgirl d. a. n. i. showgirl on instagram and facebook is danny elizabeth Danny elizabeth seven if you happen to be on tiktok but instagram is definitely one of my favorite platforms and then coming and the next week or two. We have some projects coming up on social media and on facebook. I'll have a page that will be launched and It's called it. Danny elizabeth a bunch really cool videos and Some pranks with showgirls than some cool stuff. That will be on there so you have to check it out. "On on on the amazingness of this person is she is amazing. She is an australian born dancer and she worked with george balanchine. Bob fosse is. She was in. Jazz are the best little whorehouse of texas. She did great things And worked with amazing people threader career and has always had ballet as her main source of training and our main mainly her main background. So i think What comes with that is a an extreme sense of discipline and knowingness and she prides herself on run creating dancers and creating their success and i feel very blessed in lucky enough to be a part of her life and to have You know the training. That i've had from her. And so how did that. Even come to be i mean. How do you end up working with a world famous performer. Like that. first of all you have to also understand about jennifer. Is she still. She is still in her mind. Twenty two years old and she is all over. la she Show called places up. And say i'll teach their all teach their master. Their ngo says a studio behind our house and that's towards the end. that's where. I spent most of my time. But i ended up meeting her at the studio in hollywood called ita international dance academy and at the time on. She just wanted to teach one or two classes of week at that location to be more in the hollywood scene and even that studio concentrated more commercial dancing and hip hop and heels and stylized not necessarily a ballet background It brought her a lot of people myself included. And so after i met her. She told me about her studio where she just has. A few people For each class come to her house and she teaches ballet classes a week. So i signed myself right up for that and because i wasn't working at the time i was just trying to train and work my little odd gigs on the side and keep my schedule available for auditioning. I didn't have a whole lot of money to invest in the classes. So jennifer being the pet lover that she is a has will at least time she had about five. Dogs are tasked maybe fish somewhere or two but so she was so wonderful. Made a deal with me. And i would take her nine. Am ballet class. So i would get to her house at seven forty five in the morning and then i would take all five dogs at the same time for an hour long. Walk and bring them back and then go out to her back studio and at nine niamh we would do an hour long ballet class or or belly bar and she would always into this day still teaches the original balanchine ballet bar that she took when she was in the new york city ballet. Wow it's one of those weird kind of synergy things right just right place right time yes truly is the universe is always that always looking out for you was was dance for you. Is it always ballet. Was that what you you started in a kid. Yeah that was my That was the main warmer main style of dance. That i studied from the time i was four and then to the end of high school but there were a like a year in between where i would take certain jazz classes and courses and things like that a little bit but i always strictly stuck with ballet because even when i was young Maryland ramsey Was my teacher and she even said if you have ballet as your basis you can do anything. And i do believe that to be true. We've been today so then how. And when did you make the jump from los angeles over to las vegas. Well thanks to jennifer. Because i thought okay. Well you know. I'm in my upper twenties. It must be too late for me to be a professional dancer. And she said oh you have at least another solid ten years if not more as a woah okay. So she kept pushing me and pushing me. And i went to every audition i could. And then i i gave myself It was a year a year. Timeline i said. I will audition from now until this time next year. And you know if i have tried everything and nothing is working out. Then you know. I'll come back to the idea of. Maybe i need to do something. Alastair add something else to my daily life instead of just focusing on trying to get a dance job and So i went to a bunch of things. And within the last few months of that year i went to an audition for a show in las vegas. It was called a donna arden's jubilee shortly known jubilee and it was added casino out here and at the time i had only been to. Las vegas was a two day trip. It was super quick Four good friends with my net married. So i never really experienced las vegas or knew much about it or or the shows for that matter. Serves like okay. Well i tried looking things up online about it. And i think all these great reviews and everything but i couldn't find any clips of the show just a couple of photos like add photos like okay. Big Brother: Did Dani buy Janelle’s finale night dress on eBay and wear it on her finale night?

"Me, and then we were like wait that's gotta be what it is and then boom she says it. Maggie I want to ask you about something I haven't had the chance to talk about on the podcast. Are you familiar with the gym nells Finale Dress? Storyline. I was about to bring out by saw it on reddit that Danny had bought journals finale drastic this. Be to talk about is this okay. Melissa. This is okay. I think I I don't okay. So I don't my only issue with it is that I don't know where that information comes from. I know that the dresses looked the same but I don't know if it was exactly Gino's dress like that. She bought from Janelle or that it was like a like look like dress or the same dress brand just did it and wanted to wear. Okay. All right. So this is. that. A listen we're all Danny did not fans here but story is is a little weird. We're treatise, she bought it like from an ebay auction for. Like Gin put her dress up for charity mills baby six finale dress went up for auction measure of his bb six or seven. Do we now doesn't matter? Okay she put her dress up for an auction Danny Denardo bought said dress and then wore the exact same dress to the finale of BB eight. That go this Danny. Talked about this on feeds. I'm not sure if anyone clocked it but I was watching once and she was talking about with. I can't remember who she was talking about it with but she said that she was originally supposed to be cast on big brother six. She made it to finals for that but she was seventeen. So they wouldn't let her on and she was talking about how she was supposed to be on big brother six and then eventually she said like she was super happy. She was I'm Gonna I'm big like because she was too young or whatever. But I have a theory that she's always loved now and when she was on eight, she had the blonde hair I don't know I. Am Looking at the you know crystal ball or whatever. But I think maybe some validity to try to saying that there is some question about whether or not is the if it's the exact address. I'm a little. I there's there's no possible way that she didn't see wearing it and be like I like that dress I want to wear a dress like that at the finale, a tribute or just because I like it or whatever. But like. There's no way. There's no way. What I'm trying to say is there's no way that they just happen to wear the same dress and it was just like crazy. We don't know if it's the literal dress that touch Gino's body burns in life. It's we don't know the single white females situation orbits just like the question. Did it start with I. Okay. I want her dress I want to be now I have to get rid of her now I have to take over your. Okay you find a single white female situation. Replacement so it's married with married. It's different. So it's fine. You can read of each other it's fine. But yeah, it is very interesting. Also, apparently it was it was an all stars not vick brothers six but still. It's the point

Well as I always say, reg one birds, trash is another bird treasure. The Wow. Do you remember? Oh. Yeah. All these things you've ordered are packed in stuff that's going to go in the trash. Recycling. India, unfortunately, that's not going to solve the problem. Of course, it will. What are you talking about Garros? Haven't? You heard heard what? Well, for the past few decades, a lot of our recycling things like paper and plastic and glass has actually been shipped off to China to get recycled. Except over the past year, China has told the world that it can't take all of our junk anymore. Why not? Well, we humans have generated too much of it and recycling all of that crash has become too difficult for China. So, what does that mean for how we recycle our garbage? Well, it means that in many cities in America and even in other countries they stopped recycling. Just stopped, recycling like Dennis. Mandy. I didn't stop recycling I never started gay Roz, if they're not recycling than what's happening with all that cardboard and plastic, well, a lot of it is being incinerated or burned. Well, that sounds like a pretty good plan to me. Well, unfortunately, it's not because every time you burn this stuff, it creates pollution in our air pollution that makes our air dirty

Does killing Soleimani really change anything in the Middle East?

"For a generation Iran's May General Sulejmani he was a consequential Fica League in the Persian Gulf for the Americans in the region Sunnis? He was a terrorist mastermind for the Iranians the Assad regime in Syria Hezbollah in Lebanon. Sulejmani was a hero who protected the Shia cresent in the region. So it's no wonder the Iranian generals death via a drone attack attack in Baghdad. That was a huge news story. Earlier this month cast into the money rainy and military commander assassinated in the US drone strike on mm struggling marks a huge escalation coming just days at was revered by Iran supporters in proxies being blamed for the deaths of hundreds of Americans in the Middle East over the we took took action last night to stop a war. What comes next? What's the broader strategy? Here we did not take action to start a war. Your since the American killing of Sulejmani Tehran launched a missile strike on your spices in Iraq and in the process mistakenly shot down a Ukrainian Ilana carrying one hundred seventy six passengers something. The Mullah's had initially denied responsibility but crucially the Iranians signings avoided killing Americans. which was the red line? The president trump has drawn. US military response. So we'll this episode. Leave Iran Ryan stronger or is tyron now more isolated than ever and what is the showdown between Tehran and Washington Maine for Iraq the US military Tori prisons there and Iran's nuclear ambitions. Danny Applica- is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington and Co host of the AAAGH. Ah podcast what the Hell is going on. Making sense of the world get identity. Hey Tom and I'm in. Sokoll is author of Iran Rausing the survival and and future of the Islamic Republic and CO author of Islam beyond borders the Oma in world politics. Welcome back to Iran. How good morning now? Also Amani abetted genocide in Syria to keep the Assad regime in power. He's responsible for the deaths of many American troops. He armed Hezbollah in. Lebanon with rockets is to attack. Innocent Israelis killed many innocent Sunnis in Iraq. So I mean isn't the world better off without Sulejmani. Were president trump. I think so. And also quite a number of American allies in the region Probably I think the same way but at the same time demand was a national hero and in fact that he was the one of the top strategic brains behind Iran's overseas operations and expansion of eight onion influence in the region. I will just support related to the fair that it only leadership has about the possibility of an American attack or an Israeli attack on a combined and attack. But let me see this Tom that nobody is commendable. dimitris full of commanders. Top commanders into the Nobel Prize winners and so on General money is being replaced And I think e to the debt is a widespread view in the West. That if you bump one or two individuals isn't the situation is going to get better We duty cold in history that take for example a Prime Minister Anthony Eden go around the nineteen fifties and calling for the elimination of Jamaa Nasser as the national president of Egypt and has was that this man is removed from a then. Everything will be fine. Nothing died in nine hundred. Seventy and a situation has not improved a cold and and at the same thing was said to be so I mean the point though. Is that knocking off Salomon. He's not going to make a great deal of difference. But also can I just add to this Dani salamone and these Iranian backed Shia proxies. They did help inadvertently into why help. America Islamic state. So does it worry you that people cheering the loudest about this. Guy's death other suny jihadists in there are slighted areas in the desert and the mountains of Iraq and Syria. I don't think they're the ones who are cheering the loudest I. I think you heard pretty loud cheering from here. I think you heard some plenty of loud cheering in In Iraq and Lebanon and and elsewhere throughout throughout the region. Look you know. I think it's important to acknowledge that. That as the head of the cuts force Qassem Soleimani was a very powerful folks very influential very strategic and very effective leader and he brought that effectiveness to things. That would terrible And the arming of Hezbollah. The murderer of half million Syrians. The arming of mass. The arming of in Yemen. We could go on for a while here but but But he did all of those things but when when the challenge was from Sundays you had is. He helped set up and guide ride. The hoste. Shabby the popular mobilization units in Iraq that That that ended up being part of the battle to to defeat Isis. The problem here is that every situation in the region is is more complicated than the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Just because Stalin Fort with us to defeat Nazi Germany did not make stolen a good guy. And if you look at these anti-regime protests some and. I've been breaking out in Iran since Tehran admitted that its military military shot down. A Ukrainian passenger Ilana have the Iranians overreached because despite the Iranian successes in Iraq Syria and Lebanon on on their rule out officials sites there on stable they print across he so have the Iranians overreached. There's no doubt that many Iranians feel about the Ashim and today have protested over the last few months in order to bring about A structural reforms today as a system of governance and economy which is setting enormously under represent- trump's sanctions but has the Iran overreached. What are I pointed out earlier I mean Iran does fear a a very strongly as possible American that much Israeli combined attack and therefore what update on your the humans done his belt reasonable security and press such for itself which would really want? Shepherdess Arafat at all costs but that does not necessarily Saudi mean that Iran is only Aggressive power in the region aggressive actor in the region. I mean. Let's not forget that that that the destabilization Iraq really started the two thousand three. US invasion of that country. Okay so the. The American invasion of Iraq helped Iran on because it overturned the suny state and it created a Shia majority Stein. I saw a natural law with the Shia brethren in Tehran following following on from that Danny shortly a problem about striking at pro Iranian sheeham paramilitary groups as trump has done is the now part of the Iraqi state. So is it any wonder. Washington's increasingly modulation is part of the world. First of all. I think it's offensive talk about Shiites. As if they're all some sort of monolith. The share of Iraq are Arabs. The Shia of Iran are Persians. These these are different people this. These two countries Shia versus Shia fought a bloody war for eight years in which there were one million casualties casualties in the nineteen eighties. The notion that somehow Iraq is a natural satellite or or or or slave to Iran is wrong Iran has chosen to try to dominate that country and demonstrations throughout the central and southern part of Iraq. Over the last month have been against Iranian domination the Iranian consulate in Jeff was burned to the ground at the end of last year not by Sonny's he's not by Sunni jihadis not by Isis not by Kurds but by Shiites carrying placards yelling out to out for Iran. Get Out of our country and I think that that is absolutely right to suggest that Iran has gained more influence in Iraq since the demise of Saddam Hussein. I I guess I I'm just not that big a fan of Saddam Hussein and the and the stability that he brought to Iraq. I wish that the United States had done more in the aftermath of the wall. I think thinks that we I think that we failed miserably. In many instances I think it was absolutely fatal in two thousand eleven when at a time of genuine stability in Iraq Iraq. President Obama withdrew troops and really provided the opportunity for Isis. To rise up again. My guest Daniel Placate from the American Enterprise Institute. And I'm in Sokoll. He's the author of Iran rausing and Islam beyond borders. I mean how would you respond to all of this. Because we've got these tensions here between Tehran Iran and Washington and the Iranian backed Shia politicians released most of them in Baghdad. I support if not closer ties with Tehran. They want the the Americans out of Iraq. But don't the sooners and the Kurds fee for the Iranian intrusion in Iraqi sovereignty. I absolutely and of course sir. The APP is not only the president of the American so who'd be which are being the opposed to in Iraq but also the presence of eight onions there. No question Ah about that but at the same time if we know that the majority of the Iraqi population is made up of the Shiites and some powerful elements among the Shiites have got the value equals relationship and relationship. What they don't know in the meantime ago? The Iraqi parliament release the iranian-backed Majority Shia legislators I support the withdrawal of US troops Danny now given trump's ambivalence about the region and the fact that he was elected impact to get the US out of the so-called forever awards isn't a US military withdrawal from Iraq. Just what trump and many war-weary Americans want. Well it's kind of funny. Isn't it because we start off talking about the you know the Iranians and what they want and and of course. The number one goal is to get the Americans out of the region and that is in fact the instruction is that has gone out to all of their proxy groups. All around the region. Is You need to step up activities to get the Americans out. Then we've got the president of the United States. It's who dearest and fondest goal is to get American troops out of the region so so a couple weeks after killing Kassim Sulaimaniyah. We have this unbelievably in coherent bizarre response. Where we where we're doing exactly what the around him one let? This is what Donald Trump has to sort out. He has to sort out whether he's the president. He's the kind minded president who who leads in a forthright fashion against men like costume ceremony. Who Seek to destabilize the region and extend Iran's hegemony Germany or he is going to be the kind of president that like Bernie Sanders like Barack Obama wants to turn around and high tail fin is to the Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump's uh-huh Washington energy independent America Stein fought these endless wars danny well A? They aren't endless wars. We have lost fewer people in these. This was than than than we lost a single day in World War Two so while they are conflicts that have continued on and off to a certain extent. You know the notion Shen that we've been sold that somehow we've still got one hundred and fifty thousand troops on the ground and losing them at a rapid pace is just wrong. We lost six in Syria. I I mourn every single one of them but the Kurds lost eleven thousand in their fight against Isis. So what what. What is the reason? We'll tell you very straightforwardly woodley because every time we turn tail every time someone says let's get out of that bloody Middle East. Let's pay attention to something fun. Like Asia and you'd like that. Tom Would now but hang on your way but every time we say that we end up being dragged back because the dynamics in the region of the ones that bring us back we need. We need a long-term solution that lets us. Stay away for good rather than one where we run away. Anita did it come back every single decade I mean the two thousand fifteen nuclear deal Provided tyron with as much as apparently one hundred fifty billion dollar windfall. Aw and certainly many people who are skeptical of the deal side that the Iranian spent lavishly arming the Shia militias across the region. So what it was trump right to pull the US out of the deal and instead impose maximum Prussia built around these economic sanctions on Iran. I think he was totally wrong and and I can care. There has been a backlash president. Trump's would would you withdrawal has a basically a provoked said that on Not to really go for the for police. Speed to in order to rebuild that they have nuclear program and. I think you're going to really do that. And of course that also carries the risk of a possible confrontation from tation between the United States and Iran possibly Israeli attacks on Iran and that could easily dissolved in a regional warfare. That at the end nobody may may be able to control it Danny. Any I mean a lively debate. Thanks so much for being back on. ABC

"Talking tech is brought to you by wicks dot com. Create and publish a stunning website all from one powerful platform, go to wicks dot com to create your very own professional website today. That's w I x dot com in stay tuned after the show to hear you can take advantage of special offer for talking tech listeners Jefferson Graham today here in Tokyo with Dani Sullivan printer Newport Beach, California, the founding editor of search engine land and the two of us just happened to be here. And we're we're comparing notes on what it's like to navigate your way through a strange country. And Dan you've been living on Google maps have been in fact, my wife is even saying how impressed she was with them. They have been navigating us all over the place, especially through the subway system. Giving us not just which subway line to take. But even what platform to take in the debated fair today really paid off because you know, as our second day using the subway I knew exactly how much needed to buy ticket for two hundred yen. I knew the station. I was gonna go to I it was brilliant got really surprised were you had how well it worked. Pretty surprised? Actually, you know, I I haven't really units try to get through a subway system. I didn't know before like this usually I'm in cabs and other places, but the system so extensive here and hailing a cab and dealing with the Cavs is kind of a bit of a freakout situation still for me, plus they're expensive. So you know, it really was like, let's use public transportation. We took the cabinets morning, and we asked the guy if he spoke English, and he said, no. And somehow we tried to get where we wanted to get to was really hard. I used Google translate and typed in where I wanted to go. And then press the button to have it read in Japanese, which is great. I mean, I I was one of the nice things about Google translate. As you can you can do that. And have it speak and talk to you. I tried to do that the first day we were here and the guys just gave up on me and started switching into some kind of broken English. But yeah, you talk you get. Simultaneous. Translation, would I've been using both for that. I think Sommese is year you you point Google translate. And you let us your camera and it in real time. We'll translate what you see on a sign in English is not always perfect. But I was using it to understand what the food was that. I wanted to buy what was in certain roles and things like that. And it was pretty cool. It didn't work for me. But I think some of the Japanese lettering was just too much for certainly can get overwhelmed. So both of us bought sim cards when we got here a variety in where I live charges ten dollars a day for international service, which for me, and my wife would have been twenty dollars a day. Didn't wanna do it. I bought a sim card for thirty dollars. But it was only for a hundred megabytes a day. You bought a sim card for thirty dollars for five gigabytes total. So I had you know, done my homework before coming out, and this was through a company called mobile and. Like, I grew gold it so again, Google, I guess coming through on that. But you know, I came across this page, and it was it was nice. You know, you you bought it ahead of time. They delivered it to the airport post office. The post offices open all the time. I walked up. There's a little bit of a problem for they didn't get my name. Right. And then they found all them and we load them up. And when we were on the train we were up and going head to head to configure the APN type situation, but we got that really clicked on a link, and you're all set, and it's been great. You feel a real sense of freedom. And the kids are all taking pictures and sharing. I'm doing all my stuff. It's wonderful. So sim card ahead of time, Google, maps, Google translate. And of course, there's also other fun apps, but it really is changed the travel experience. Absolutely. And it's such a it's such a dramatic thing. I think especially these days when you can go with your phones. So last tip is that I been using line the app line, which is really popular in Japan. And I've been making free calls all by whole families here. My mom. Hear my son's here. We just call each other online all the time you have to watch a little fifteen second ad. I don't care. So from Tokyo, I'm Jefferson Graham with USA here with Dani Sullivan. Let's get night. Sometimes having a great idea is the easy part getting people to hear about your idea. Not always so simple.
