Atlanta Hawks reportedly agree to contract with Danilo Gallinari
"Well when you look at the hawks signing danilo gallinari who at some point people thought was going to be. The biggest name moved as a free agent for three years in sixty one point. Five million dollars twenty million dollars a year for a guy who's thirty plus now. It looks like a lot on paper. I guess because gallinari has been around for a long time. And you know. Technically past his brian. But he's a very very solid guy. And i likened it to paul millsap being signed by the nuggets a few years ago getting a vet while you have lots and lots and lots of capitalism and crippling yourself too long in the future. I think it'll be totally fine on their books trash. Thanks very good at that with the hawks. Oh three years twenty her effort danilo gallinari. Who is a maker and will make shots when trae young gives him the ball. I think it just fits on the court really really well. They needed a guy who he could. Just pass it to now. It's will you talk about. The wolves really really crowded backward. The hawks frontcourt is now crowded. Gone are is afford these days. He's not playing the three. John collins also four Anita they just draft five. They have clean cappella the five. That's a lot of bodies for sure. But i think just like the wolves. Everybody's on the table you know. They have contracts at every range. I think that's sort of why the wolves beasley to that number. They've got contracts that they can throw in as an asset as a dollar value. Whenever and so. The hawks are ready to deal. I don't think gallinari. Like paul millsap in denver is a part of the championship. Ross envisioned years down the road but when you got money and you got a guy who can make shots I think it just it makes sense again. Not crippling your your Your number in the future

I've been asked multiple times in the last 24 hours about Danilo Gallinari coming to the Los Angeles Lakers and I did some digging to figure out where where is this coming from and it's actually coming from choices first and foremost is a tweet from Danilo Gallinari in which he congratulated the Lakers on winning a championship and because he's a free agent and the way these things work instantly thought I ball emoji started popping up all over the place and people started speculating. Oh Gallinari to the Lakers and then he didn't interview with with sports Hondo and he and he was asked about a contract versus containing for a championship. What is the most important thing to him? And he mentioned that he's not 20 more and so winning a championship is the most important thing being on a contempt Game is more important. So that added a little bit of fuel to the fire because we know the Lakers don't have a ton of money to go spend..

Change in Dominican Republic as opposition wins presidency
"Let's go to the Dominican Republic now where the victory by the opposition part in this weekend's elections has marked the end of sixteen years of rule by the Dominican Liberation Party. The P. L. D.. The newly elected president Louis Shabina dare managed to capture fifty two point fifty three percent of the vote, well earlier I was joined on the line from the Dominican Republic's. Republic's capital not Sunday Domingo by bridget wooding, who's the director of the think tank, Obi m I, see a or center for immigration, observation and social, development in the Caribbean bridget started by giving us a bit of context and explaining just how significant the results are very significant, because we're talking about change after sixteen years of ruling party and we're talking. Talking about an almost exact reversal of what happened in the elections for years ago when the President Danilo Medina got in with sixty one percent of the vote against thirty four percent of our be now there, and as you mentioned now I've been there has with the fifty percent needed and Danilov menace stouffer. His candidate from the ruling party got only thirty four percent. percent or so of the vote, so if we're looking at something, which is which is very significant, all the way along President Medina had sought to transfer his popularity to his chosen candidate on solid casteel, but in fact council steel was probably the weakest candidates that he had because unsubtle casteel was involved with public works, which has been notorious for different corruption scandals. But then the President Danilo Medina thought that with Kobe nineteen. He would have things in his favor. There would be a kind of swath vote for the way. He was dating with things, but that was not to be because. Since January two, thousand, seventeen, this being the Green March movement against corruption, and the fact that disparities between rich and poor had been rolling, and there were a number of journalists who actually lost their jobs trying to denounce this, so this became a big issue, the government, totally of note, the evidence and the president. Medina also took further actions to control the judiciary, but what also happened was that the former president Leonel Fernandez split from the ruling party, and that divided what had been a pretty Monolithic party up over the last sixteen years, and he did it by suggesting that certain casteel the nominee President Medina had been put in by false means. But there was a thought that were things to go to a second round up. The ex-president learn finance might have gone in with with consol. But what was the most decisive thing that happened this year was that on the sixteen to February nineteen elections, there was a glitch and e-voting could not take place, and so, what happened then was that the elections were. Left right and center, but this was corruption. And especially, the millennials who had begun to take to the streets along with other you know in many Latin, American capitals so in recent months, really caught a bit between their teeth and the middle class, which had kept the ruling party in power for sixteen years, suddenly began to feel that they've been robbed up the wrong way. The things were things were unraveling now. The government you know is the country's largest employer, but even those that it was keeping in their pay when along a satisfied. Feeling change had to happen, and that was the ticket on which the new president has got in and posted to surprise then I mean it was clear that the tide was turning, but did you ever think that actually he would overturn the sixteen years of Monolithic rule I think all the more recent polls have shown that he's definitely in the lead. I think what was worrying. was that at the last minute that Kobe number? would be used as a cover to dissuade more middle class voters perhaps from going to vote, and also the usual tactics of paying people to vote or giving people handouts prior to elections this time it didn't work with the with the exception perhaps of the government in some of the poorest province near the border, but it didn't work the because people were determined the change and I think this is. Of what's happening in a number of Latin America where people do feel the need for change, and corruption is a big issue, and people feel that it should be tackled also covid nineteen demonstrated again the dispatch between rich and poor because those people who. Are Not documented migrants people have been nationalized. He had don't have access to government programs, and this doesn't look good in the face of the sustainable development goals. It doesn't look good in the face of the international community, so something was going to break I think, but nevertheless I think. People woke up. Fight surprised that it had happened so smoothly and things didn't go to a second round. This Sunday. Do you think that people would just then voting against the status quo, or was there something specific that abner was offering? What made his campaign so successful? I think he was really offering to clean things up, and so if you the bar next to my house today after elections happen, it was saying the whites have gone got in his Richmond from the cradle. They don't need to rob. So, there was the sense that. That These were people who have. had a different kind of agenda, and all walks of life seeing that. that there have been just too much of a monolithic hold on every aspect of society and under change was necessary, but I think the corruption thing was important, and then the fact that normally elections happen on the no glitches, but this glitch that happened in February with the elections and the feeling that there was something going on under. Probably the think was more likely with the incumbent party. I think those were the two decisive things that make people think. Yeah, we do need a change and finally bridget. What can we expect from his presidency? What will apart obviously from corruption be the main issues on the agenda? Well, obviously we have a big health crisis on our hands, and as you can see the Dominican probably is one of the worst countries in the insular. Caribbean and the election mobilization hasn't held so I think we're going to have to go back to the state of a state of emergency. The new governor will also be slightly tied in terms of how far it can go in more imaginative on policy, more imaginative domestic policy because it did do a deal in this S- i Brown with some of the more ultra nationalist sectors of society, and so they're going to have to reckon with that. I think trying to was cleaning up corruption, trying to create more jobs and trying to ensure the disparities between rich and poor are not sensu it'd such that in this pandemic. All can be served healthwise and in future crisis, people are not going to be discriminated one way or another. And that was bridget. Lots of background birdsong on the line from Santa Domingo.

It's fair game all right, so here's Dani. It sounds Kinda shore, but trust me. We got a lot to go over here. We're going to start with the next big silly season. Move Twenty, twenty one. That of course is Danilo Petrucci to tech three. Who's going where why what it means am whether it's all a good idea or not. Then we'll. We'll look at the side of that coin police bog grow heading to Honda. It's absolutely happening, so we'll talk about how well he might be able to do there. And why Honda wanted to make a move in the first place to bring somebody else in why that person is. pull a SPA grow some then we've got Alex Marquez. We have to discuss as. As he headed del CR, and if so, what's GonNa? Happen, the, cal crutch slow, and that will bring us to some do comedy drama, and it's a two parter this week Andre the video getting hurt, and why on Earth was he? Even in a motocross race to begin with then part, two of do coty drama who hail Lorenzo isn't talking to Kati but. He might also be. Is he officially back in the picture had to Kati for that factory. See well. We'll try and figure that out. Then we got your comments on Ktm the two thousand twenty schedule and a lot more, and we'll wrap up the show some pictures and video. Let's get started because we've got some huge news to talk about. It is official. Danilo Petrucci is headed to Kate's, but not to the factory bike. Instead, he's going to go to three. And that means that Miguel Olivera is instead headed to the factory squad. The team up with Brad Bender A my response to this my reaction. Was Pretty. Much just wow, you know I mean because of all of the scenarios that we talked about it and we did talk about the. Of Miguel Olivera moving up to the factory squad last week, but of all the scenarios we discussed. I think that was probably. The least likely, and I certainly didn't speculate that Miguel will move up and then Danilo would be the one going to that attack three seat, but that's exactly what happened the biggest question here. Is this the right move? It's not an easy one to answer if I'm being honest, I don't know at this point if it's the right move, but let's look at the positives and the negatives and try and unpack why this is happening the way it is at Ktm for twenty twenty one. Oh, let's start with some positives here. Because definitely this move showing how calcium is being loyal to those homegrown riders Olivera embraced bender, and just today right before I sat down the record. This heavy Pantera did an interview about the signing, and by the way even he is surprised. He's getting ill approaching into twenty one but hair as he always does and. And this is why I love heavy pollen trowel so much. He doesn't try and Yank your. Cheney doesn't try to beat around the Bush. She gets right to the point and always tells you exactly what's going on and once again? Even in this situation he was incredibly candid about KTM's decision, not just who to sign, but also why they put everybody where they did, and you know from what he's saying. It really came down. The three factors are it seems to me like you came down the three factors, the aforementioned loyalty, enthusiasm, and then a little bit blind faith, so we'll start with the middle one with enthusiasm because. This is all based on what heavy was saying. That seems like this is what got Danilo in the door? In the first place over by the way Andrea David Co so and cal crush slow, and pointed out that those two riders were definitely in the running for this seat, and Pantera noted not only that Danilo came in person for a factory visit where the other two didn't but that while he was there, everybody got the. The feeling from Perch Chee that he was genuinely interested in the program that he wanted to know what KTM was trying to accomplish, and he wanted to try to figure out how he could help that mission as opposed to as he put it. Not My words as opposed to somebody who's attitude was quote. I've lost my job, but I still WANNA race a few more years and have a good salary end of quote now. Trial did not say who he was referring to there or even got that from Dover Cal. He just said that he specifically did not get that feeling from Danilo Petrucci and that's awesome. By the way it makes me feel good for Danilo advocates him for that matter I mean. Paul freely admitted that those guys were apprehensive about bringing somebody in from the outside after the whole Zarko thing, and let's be honest. We don't know how Patricia is going to work out. We obviously have no clue how it's GonNa work out, but. It is great to hear that one of the main deciding factors here was who talked to everybody, and this guy was genuinely so nice and so enthusiastic. That's swayed our decision making because I mean you think about this situation. Have just your enthusiasm pay off in a scenario where just about anybody else would have blindly picked dovy or cow in that order over Petrosky? Yes, KTM is taking a risk a ryder, but they're doing that because they feel like this is a writer worth betting on as opposed to just picking the guy that has the biggest name or the biggest stats or the biggest marketing ability, and that's pretty cool and obviously that. That comes back on something. We're GONNA talk about later on in the show that rebel money and the red bull money is great when you want to go out and get marker, get dove your get a big name. Ryder, but it also gives you a lot of latitude. If you don't want one of those guys, because you don't need the marketing momentum and we talked about this last week so when we get too far into it, but you don't need the marketing momentum of a huge name. When you got a big name sponsor backing you and so you can go with the person who genuinely seems the most interested in your program. So. It's great for them now. That could be totally misguided. In the end we'll all know at the end of two thousand twenty one, but it's a noble thing, nonetheless that KTM is basing the majority of their decision on his personality on his enthusiasm, and on the impression that Patricia made when he came to the factory, so that was first thing was enthusiasm. Loyalty is up next, and I think that this is half of the reason that Miguel Olivera ended. Ended up on the factory squad and Danilo went to tech three, because there's no question that Miguel was disappointed last year when he found out that Brad Bender was gonNA leapfrog him to the factory team. Despite the fact that it was all era that had the motor GP experienced now but by going putting Olivera on the factory team. They correct that slight, and they reinforce that after the Zarko incident, they are indeed committed to prioritizing their internal writers. Over outsiders now that's a risky move for sure, but. began. Olivera and I've said it before and I will say it again. He's incredibly smart. He's incredibly talented and he's the type of writer that you want on your factory. He maybe with a little bit more experience, but you do want him on your factory team because he has the potential to both perform. And because of his mental approach to the bike, I think that he can provide beneficial insights especially once he gains more experience. Into the future direction of the bike and the development of new technologies that KTM brings to the table for the team. Now there's no question that that philosophy of loyalty help make the decision to sign Petrucci easier as well since I mean. When you think about this, there is absolutely positively no chance that Andrea the video would have accepted an assignment detect three each wouldn't have done it, and there's very very little chance in my mind that cal. Chrysler would have been interested in tech three as well especially, because both of those riders have already ridden at one point for tech three, and so you know Sunning Petrosky then..

Now we tend to not to own anything and to stream contents <hes> but at the same time vintage and collection is going back and see. It's one of the opposite of the other one in d a live together and i think it's the same <hes> do know you age. I think you'll you you understand what i say when when emperatriz came out while the m._p. Trees <hes> fostered the sales of vinyls while at that time we had cds cds so it's you know every time you have a trend you also have contra trend and maybe have makes a lot of the fashioned schools move toward the theoretical and had students touching fabric a lot less than a lot of students out of fashion schools not knowing how to so on. Is that something that you've had an issue with your that. You've had to move back towards or did you continue to have people touch about it depends of course okay. <hes> majority of our fashion design is about got some fabrics shulin doing your own collection showing is and for that reason our design lab is a full of machines is is fully accounted for doing that because you know some students would say the majority of our students are coming from now the c. t. so day with the family may be delivered within the students and they don't have machinery and home so we have in school and that's why have three facilities for that so isis vapours students i able to do what they think <unk> stewart able you to do it in school or why do our job. I arrived in florence two days ago. Mend it immediately immediately felt like an artistic city. Things things were special. I've been traveling for a while and i'd gone through here. It's just different. I walked past a girl carrying a frame for a canvas for painting with no no canvas on just down the street in smoking and it feels like a place. That's a little bit alive with art is that important part of what students get from from the school. Here is being in. This is the stephen important i i know it's important within the industry for for leather and other things like that. It's a long story yes yes. I tell i tried to summarize the for example the idea of fashion fashion designer so the idea of having a creator who by hand.

"Half of the students business-oriented have a creative needed oriented in a half of them is undergraduate in other half is boss current and it's this fashion focused. It's only fashion and does the school dr <hes> employment from for the students immediately into the companies that are sponsoring the programs differently absolutely <hes> we have a career office work into two four seven to that end runs a year we have events <unk> business links and it says moment flare company's human resources coming directly here i mean like when you say mining's gucci say all of them to come here and meet those students who can see portfolios in susie in their face and let's say <unk> undergraduate programs eight inch it is <hes> mandatory while for postgraduate is aucoin students with times. They just go directly to work. Our placement rate is two percent in six months sa's quite i if you can't the nine percent left may be you know keep on studying or family mainly business or you know all four so split that that sounds very and that's that's high for italy. I know a ah i've been traveling in europe in the last few weeks and a lot of people complain about the economy in their jobs and frustration so it's great that you're able to accelerate alert people into the workplace from from their studies <hes> actually this is our mission because it's truly are a company we somehow because schools practical is company but on the other hand <hes> we are not profit and and this means that we reinvest everything on our structure on that gig on the facilities and also in careers so finding a job his job and i saw you also have some sort of startup accelerator or your program's called him on the talent. It's runcie year rebounds. There were students a let's call it scholarship that includes amount of cash a location gatien. You're work and i do <unk> or mentorship is built around the project project so that our winners winners have a project and we creates a sort of course just for them yeah and then <hes> the scholarships is dad's not linked to talent but to the wealth so for example with adam age he just gave gave fourteen scholarships for leather goods and this is also to john's on our area the civility to renew and refresh the <unk> abilities in the know how we have the air in this particular area the place where the big groups usually making their first lines so how has the school changed from nineteen eighty-six <unk>. What did it start as an and everything changes. So what what are the major changes. Since it was founded well i can tell you i'm a school time because it was a student before i mean i worked already before being a student then i attended a master course alexi management and then it went back to industry again and then one day my full american share <hes> called me for teaching on friday afternoon three hours guinea managing students begins on friday afternoon three hours with me was so heavy so so heavy and but then i was <hes> <hes> i mean students liked the class so the dean at that time in the the teacher to make me a young teacher that time and then from that moment who started creating programs who everything there's tells me and tells you a lot about the school that means that school has roots the school has a legacy also as with people <hes> but at the same time it's able to new itself and the key for that is <hes> delinquent industry so so our teachers are not academics. Our teachers are all working industry or coming for maine's susan through the biggest grades or even a short spurs sometimes because we we used to say <hes> the d- chair must be <hes> you know oh seeks the and working for forty years no bending workings teaching will she sees dines. It's good to have a twenty five years. Missile teacher sometimes is to have sixty years old egypt. You know osa diversity is new topic retake care because <hes> <hes> diverse is the program and the people the mole folks students would go out with the broader point of view and with a broader range of duties as well because fix import a few career young students get eating from parole doubt yeah of course. She wants to go working product management in e company like gucci. Maybe better you know so you know how to do it and the skills us on that <hes> if you go out and you want to start up a new company with another got couple of students maybe having had to do with young teacher at that point was much better because that young teacher may be was running all starting a new company as well so you know it's defending reflecting anyways the state of our of the fashioning to is the key and so if you ask me how the school has changed a delio exchanging everyday do bring in new teachers often and are you open open to teachers coming from overseas always yeah okay seventy four percents. Allow students are not italians in they come from seven to different countries his to be precise sixty eight. This diversity is also reflected <hes> in in so are also coming from girds. Only italians definitely then it depends on the topic because if you ask me why the teachers teaching product management i tell you most of them aren't titans because they know about productions which is very rare <hes> but then if it had me who is the grand his mantle communication they might come from london york or you know whatever storytelling is a big part of fashion brands now it it always was but now it's more important. It seems like and you yourself. I think our creative directors that right yeah and brand management is yeah. So what perspective does that give give you that you're you're able to to help the students with well for what i've seen. <hes> two main trends in the families are the the parisian between production and communication so what is the middle as gone so hello and the second is the focus on business are well. If you ask me <music> this trans which are long term trends to basically not sustainable. <hes> vickers occurs <hes> the human nature needs. Nobody needs change needs. A fantasy needs christianity. So if you ask asked me the next future would be coming back of fashion designers. We used to know it's in the nineties with fashion designers proper ones and the about the second trend blair. His ation of production communication is actually simplification. It's bad reaction of industry due to the mass merchandisers but then it's not working. I mean you cannot follow mass merchandisers. If you look at some some of the big shops big stores we know in fashion suffering lot in this moment just because they the judge they follow online mass merchandises stockton g and this is wrong because you will never win convince them so you have to diversify business in the business of fashion. <hes> i think about creativity in its creative industry as we and we have to earn that sustainability is a major topic. That's been coming up more and more. Can you talk about how that's being integrated into the curriculum. Actually we give it for granted. We have to do it. <hes> i mean we have to do do with <hes> young people who are eighteen when the slots and when we tell them <hes> let's talk about digital. Oh oh let's talk about sustainability. FDA Is Revamping Clearance Procedures for Medical Devices
"That was cleared by FDA mom wouldn ten years before the time the submission that would represent a major change in the way FDA reduce five ks and the way companies function in submitting prompting case. Now, you did just mention that the details are going to be very important, and we may not know them yet. But is this something that's going to put a significant burden on companies? Or is it just a matter of picking a different device? That's unclear. It's a great question would FDA said the announcement is about twenty percent of the five ten ks identify a predicate that older than ten years. I think that what some companies will do shifts focused and try to find some product. That's more recent some companies may develop strategies to update their own five ten case. If one was cleared say eleven years ago, some of a new five Kinkaid so that they have a building block for themselves for the future. It's hard to tell what kind of impact you will have one thing you should have certainly going to create a lot of confusion for companies and probably reviewers as well. Because we're now going to have a very different stake as to whether a predicate is deemed sufficient, you can mean the difference between getting a five thousand K and having to go through a different route based on h h has never been a factor before. And in the last thirty seconds that we have left if the development of new products. If this goes through and new products can't be developed by being compared to older products will those older products have to be pulled from the market or could you still potentially be diagnosed her implanted with an older product. Does this suggestion in this that older products will be pulled from the market if an older products found to be unsafe or ineffective FDA has remedies? For very new products FDA has another mechanism quality Novo making increasing use of that. So I think that one we impacts would be that more companies would be going through the Danilo process because they won't be able to use some of the older predicates, Geoffrey Gibbs, a medical device attorney with the firm Hyman Phelps and MacNamara in Washington. NBA is Taking A Stance Against Mental Health Stigma
"Turn our attention back to Jackie McMullan's five part series or mental health in the NBA in the final foam ejaculates the future mental health and efforts league is making racist stigma associated with seeking help. One part is particular struck me guys when Jackie writes about how players will open a helping other players, but here's who won't be the former all-star, whose mental health struggles remain unchecked and untreated his agent frets about his client has begged him to get help. But the player declines saying he can't bring himself to see himself as a bone person agent explains because it doesn't match up with the invincibility of the player that he wants was I don't care who it is, but just in general, that feeling of generation of guys that still aren't opening Danilo Ellie. What do you? How do you have to this is an especially to have battled for all professional athletes because. There is this mythology we build around and we do look at them as invincible invincible, and it's people who don't have own abilities. And so a lot of times they're playing to a persona and they're afraid to seek help, which puts them in a particularly grueling kind of prison. And then if you add on top of that, if they're man of color, because in this -ociety especially being a black man in particular, there's no safe-space. There's no way you can be vulnerable without facing some level of scrutiny or attack. And so you add all those factors and it just is really heartbreaking to see. That's why I'm so glad that so many players are now openly voicing the fact that they struggle with certain things. People in this country feel like if you have money, if you have fame, you have everything figured out. And a lot of times those things bring on more problems and more trauma and more tragedy than most people can possibly fathom or deal with.

"You're both teams is just a change of scenery thing and that's really what this type of a trade is a change of scenery for both guys again turner doesn't check every box he checks a couple you're not going to find every but you're not going to find a player that will check every box for them let's go down the list danilo gallinari from the clippers this guy is so talented ten nba seasons he has played seventy games twice that's a problem the last time he played seventy games in a year was twenty twelve twenty thirteen and if i'm not mistaken mistaken he couldn't even finish that year i believe he blew out his knee at the end of that season and missed the playoffs he only played twenty one games this year for the clippers but if you're the rockets you say you know what we have signed guys and we have traded for guys that have had checkered injury pass look at eric gordon air gordon could not stay on the floor when he was with new orleans since he has joined the rockets that hasn't been an issue he has finished both years with the rockets healthy so maybe you say hey we get them with our training staff we with our medical people and maybe that can change his luck he can shoot threes he's big doesn't move as well but he's big enough and strong enough to where you feel like he can guard big guys especially with the way the game is going now he can get to the rim makes plays for others again he checks some of the boxes might be a little too much like anderson but again change of scenery and jerry west who was basically running that basketball office now he wasn't there when they signed gallon our he came in after gary west is a big reason why they traded blake griffin in these jettison that deal again could be you could say you know what down is not worth it maybe maybe they the rockets have to throw in a second round pick or something like that but again you're getting nothing from anderson nothing he was a non factor or a net negative in the playoffs this year you're just trying to get a little bit better galadari might might do that again this is not ideal.
