"On Good Dude, well, we then yell. Where were you in all of this? Party. Yeah. Again I still to this day. Maintain like the reason. I felt cool. Going out was because I had been yell. And Alana with me. They were always so much cooler than I. It's one hundred zero like when it comes to like like being had I have no chill I'm such, a nerd and such dark and like. I was so frantic as a kid like all I wanted was to be like I. Dunno I wanted to like. Make friends who came from like a really tiny school, and so like I would go out and I would go to shows, and all I wanted to do was like. You know I would go see RILO Kiley at. You know Silverlake Lounge in all. I WOULD WANNA do was like be like friends with them. I I'd allies them so much and dean. Yelling Alana were like my arm. I was happy like to really cool friend. Will Danielle Danielle? How did you see t? I mean that's her perception of herself in a way. Did you see her the same way? Now I saw has the coolest as. I wasn't I really wasn't that. When you talking about I. Wasn't that cool? But. It was I. I was like painfully insecure and all I wanted all I still am and I was always very shy, so I would always be like as it's like. The cool dynamic is like there was like really talking like all or sister who would be like. Jokes F-, Olbermann Mike, and then the cool girl with Mystique, like like like sitting in the corner, smoking, a cigarette and like. We were kind of the gruesome twosome on Alana came along. It was kind of like we were this. Let me. Show you how this is dawn again. I think the common denominators that we just really loved. Like the La Music scene in like we really supported it and like. We'd love going to shows and again like our high school was really really small, and you know there weren't a lot of kids that like the same music as I did and was. As in batch raided as I was with like going to see like live music in l. a., and so my friends were kind of like we're gonNA, go like to us either show in downtown because they're doing like waiting for Goodell and I'd be like that's cool, but like I really wanna go see like Elliott Smith. Play down the street. And so I didn't really have anyone to go like I. was like Oh here's these like I have like two girls in my arsenal like that can come with me and like I would I would like. Save up my lunch money to buy tickets. and. I I did I would take them with me. Again knocks like I think that was what kind of bonded us like I would be like. I would buy CD's from Amoeba in second span played them in the car. I drove car pools so like. I was in my car pool. My senior year she was a freshman, and then when Alana was a freshman ending our senior Alana was in Carpool and. Like. I was a senior on a Lotta was freshman, so it was like in that way like SDS reduce all of her friends. Coming in like every senior dude would be like Jay. What's the deal with your legs? SISTER IS NOT A. Buck away from her. We'll hold. When did the family band break up? and was that a really sad day, and is it on, and is it on vh one behind the music? On Now, Tell you not broken up area. We're still very much. I'm still together. Probably every holiday season. I M makes. Makes.

"Now it's a hard rock stadium down there in Miami with Danielle are real well yeah Danielle Danielle Aruba yes that's what I said the first time all right yeah yeah Danielle Aruba right and yes I. N. C. I. S. LA so why you go down there it's it's a good show I'm excited for that and by the way she's a better athlete than any you meet has probably and I'm not denying that I mean I know you're trying to say that to shame me but I'm probably right there with no way she could throw a football better than the issue can no chance that she can yeah the interesting thing is is we're doing a show out in Minnesota remember that thirty five below zero right is one of the more somewhere out there in the field and everything she wants to run down and out patterns and I'm I want because you want to and she's in like high heels and she's running these patterns of making these catches like yeah what I really down by where husbands a navy seal so really former navy so while until it was navy so like there are you know they are like the best about all first of the time yes yes yes great she's she's great to work with and it's a great show it's a fun show so I was very hard to part of that show to be a navy seals right I'm doing a a big fund raiser and he could castle coming up in March because there's a navy seal museum that is being built in one hour and where the old yeah Michael P. Murphy who was a local guy who passed away in Afghanistan it's in his name on his father is a big part of it and I have tweeted out some links to that I'll tweet out more links it's it though he could castle in the Huntington in in late March and it's it's all the money's going to go to that navy seal museum and education center which is going to be on one hour which is which is really really cool I'm excited for your show because I've been dying to find another show like I've been just searching up and down ever since temptation island left television which shows us now so I I I came across this one I'm not sure if I'm into it yet though okay this call hot and heavy now what hot and heavy is is it's a show about a couple's there's three couples N. D. the man is of normal size and the woman is obese and the challenges that they face together when I go what while on the go out to dinner and people are talking in in these introducing the the girlfriend to the coal workers like in the one episode days they're out there with dinner and drinking beers and whatever and they're like Hey how come you haven't introduces your girlfriend yeah and he said well she's coming out tonight by yeah I got to tell you some about her like what what's wrong what's the problem she really large and in a day bring Iran and they're like all man like why don't have anybody you want white with a six hundred pound person you know is all that is that how how much she weighs a hundred bands a so this is like this is like old pieces like yeah normally BCS yeah like one of the women is getting a bariatric surgery and the guy doesn't want that because he's I think they got they got this fetish with with the large women is what it is I'm interested when is this on you know we recorded all I actually my wife recorded said I think you into its all I got to find it I don't know I think it's T. L. C. I'm not positive he's they love overweight I know on TLC like those the obese they love that on TLC yeah and that you know they here all of this with all the euphemistic language we have to use that my show that's not my shirt all I said I'm excited for your show because I've been looking for all that the commercial Marshall she always looking for something else to watch it on been and then down in the the depths of TV with hot and heavy yeah so they what they call what they call these couples is mixed wait couples do you have like a I get from your TV are selling like freak show channel you got to blame my wife furnace yeah you got to blame her for this is she's she's the one that's find in these things and I do like six hundred pound life I am into that you know there was a day I am a little carton was sick or something and we had an interview set up with like a twelve hundred pound woman all really she wanted to be the world's heaviest woman bright injures try either so I'm trying to get to me that yeah she also was doing videos in online stuff yeah shot at like this kind of **** a webcam there you where you can watch your eat cakes and things and people are into yep wow it's just us he then did you interviewer yes she came in and you you didn't get on the phone yeah I would get her in here I'd like to cancel and guests so boomer had to do it himself yeah he did he did it just to make me uncomfortable is why he did it if you were all I was either what's the point of talking to a twelve hundred pound person which is on the phone it didn't make much sense now look at I got it right but it was a big thing she was in the paper and yeah the whole the spot I'm not move would have been right up Craig's alley and then of course he was out that day dear I don't know why he was I don't but I all I know is that I got stuck with the interview yeah no more I mean that's a heart like actually I think he did the interview with Tracy Burgess who used to do news yeah you he was here for that moments in WFAN forgotten moments we want to forget that one so you're into this value like this idea to me wait a couple hundred percent heavy yeah I mean think though the one to criticism argue about the shows it seems a little more stage now would like I I think that these people are for real but they they put him in situations where it's a little more stage and I like like this one guy he's all wife is getting his bariatric surgery he doesn't like it because he wants her to be big so he then he puts like easy see him in a bedroom with a whip cream on I'm in like Hershey syrup and he's got whipped cream on him yeah right because she's on a diet so he's making himself into like a chocolate sundae yeah so I will eat them so he's trying to trick or into I'd eaten like cherries in there and then whipped cream off mom and she's like I you just do as you're not supportive of me trying to make me fat again you know I'm not allowed to eat this stuff that's got to be staged maybe that particular scene these people are and they they are in love I mean if you were married to get married there is a proposal and everything that's real but sometimes I think like there's another one too I think they stage like these two people are walking down the street eating ice cream and in a car drives by and the drivers I not a straight and we live in Tony brown not enough so like and then she's like all I don't know what this ice cream anymore I'd so upsetting and I'm like yeah I don't know if that happened like I could see that being something that the state is you know yeah so anyway hot and heavy if you're a twenty check out some new hot and heavy I bet you feel the same way about about you like an animal yeah I don't like the things being two states that's why even here like the bachelor bachelorette now is becoming too staged yeah like that I can't yeah I'm never gonna people love swear by the bachelor bachelorette I dive I for some reason can't get into that I need some sort of reveal like like this to me is extreme no temptation island extreme normal reality show stuff to me does not like six hundred pound life extreme like I'm in are you seeing these people walk in a seven hundred fifty pounds and you know the doctors doing the the surgery on him and I got to lose all the weight ends up being a positive story at the end how about going to that how about like orders or anything like that is his being side yeah same here I can't watch that show that it gives me anxiety because when the people come in and they're well doing people like they're like trying to help the hoarder they say all right you got to make a decision about this thing you know can we throw it out I know I might use that some day and you're like oh my god and you realize the trauma that's in their lives you walk into the house they're climbing over boxing bags of feces and like it's just and that's worse than people's emotional life being being destroyed all imitation I'll nasty but that I don't even know if they put them so that's a choice they made to be there so they're they're being punished by their own what they find someone only ill and is in and they're trying to help them and they can't and then all the stuff in their house that gives me anxiety you know because that someone who is severely mentally ill you know yeah normally boomer on hoarders that the persons are going to be evicted so that's why they have to get the help and their families trying to help them because they're going to be thrown out of their apartment or their home is going to be condemned by the the county in which they live yeah I can I got tough time watching that it is always like sometimes you get like that that had to near the digit left in there it's that suggests that that's wrong I mean that's extreme right but give me a mixed wait couple out to dinner that's being changed by other diners in all right there with you I'm a chipping Joanna guy yeah I watch those guys could houses and stuff like that houses re doing things making people happy they seem to be genuinely happy people yeah you know I I used to like those property brothers until I was like I mean these guys are just they they they got everything these two guys that could look and they can fix houses in a I will be jealous of my so yeah yeah because I can't even hang a mere without calling a friend and these guys like blind fold and flipping houses like other than like impressions you can play the guitar your good talk show host one guy you could drive a boat you drive about very now seem in yes yeah very much doubt you're a hearty semen and then what else anything else well I mean you you name some stuff there yeah okay so why.

"Which name Danielle Danielle just come as an evenly Danielle okay consent rather take also for me thank you let's have a look wow the lord has his work cut out tonight could you details because it's funny that you should be careful with the Mike for we don't know so if you go to Russia turn the page for us is going to give one there's lots of little writing on it as a big numbers are big waterbirds the little writing we gonna look at if you have a brochure turn the page full can you yes or no I matched your company my company ritual watching that you've losses or not now can we just turn off any clear nine the idea was like I had done a special on faith healing before where I trained somebody ought to do it and talking to Dallas and try to possible is a real healer and I was teaching him but in doing that I was I started to get a real light feeling phones to be I kind of want to do it and see what that's like so when it came to writing of watching the miracle show what I said Lou with if we were all kind of key in the three of us and writing and making sure we came to revisit the I really wanted to do it so what is the worst thing is the bike at the it makes no sense if you go and see those evangelical faith healers you in an audience and you yourself would be somebody who a believes in it and be is they're wanting healing and you're bringing everything to it that makes it work thought sort of wanted to try it so I could see what I could definitely get something out of it if it didn't really turned into a did not feeding about proper healing but it did it did I not only with these healings happened I just lost the audience to kind of just just sort of go with it and all the all sort of play the part but I want you just to sort of you know just do what I say and we'll just see what happens I'm from the first night it was the the the the first week a woman came up and she'd been paralyzed on one side of the border since she was a kid and she she was in floods of tears she could move for all I was I was gobsmacked one it's not me it's nothing I'm doing I mean it's it's sort of these but it's not always it's not my skills that are making it happening what what baking happened what became clear was there's the psychological component to suffering and it depends on what the situation is depends on the person and what the condition is spot there is clearly just this interesting middle ground where what appears to be a physical problem at one point of being a physical problem is actually just a become a thing that we just living out because we got so used to living around we tell ourselves like I had a bad shoulder had about shoulder for one and I got so used to when I put a jacket on doing it like that and using this Tom that if somebody said to me your shoulder is healed had maybe go on to get a bit of a jump a bit adrenaline going to my body anyway so don't it's healed now John but you check in normally I could probably do it and I would I might think I have been able to do that for years but I could have done it I just haven't I just sort of identified with not being able to do it so long as a strange thing I think that's what it was tapping into anyway so it was extraordinary and at what I thought it would just be for the ten minutes there on stage and of course for most people it walls but there were people that were writing his latest saying what I used to have been for three years I think the mobile not saying the still he'll there's a guy that watch it on TV whose wife was a make up artist is doing my make up or something and she said husband have a golfing injury and watch the show on television cute and he was so embarrassed that he would need responded to it took a year before he admitted to her that is that is that is causing injury so all the shows I have to make much trying to get a credit for it just how fascinating that strange middle ground is between a psychological thing in a and a physical thing just.

But very honestly you show up for each week to download this episode on time I want to produce it for you on time. So forgive the audio quality I hope next week to be back with my full voice. Because next week is actually the last episode of season two I will just as I did last summer be taking the summer off from releasing new episodes to simply devote time to spending the summer with a children and prepping four season three which will release in the fall before today and bringing to you my interview with my good friend and dietitian colleague Daniel, Omar. We'll talk a little bit more about all the different things that Daniel does and. Specializes in. But I want to acknowledge up front that Danielle is one of my colleagues who specializes in integrative and functional nutrition. There are so many times that I bring topics to Daniel that she has honestly a little bit different of a slant in a different take on things and win a listener of the show requested that I specifically address the topic of juicing. Danielle was the person that I knew I wanted to go to she has written a book on juicing. She is a big believer in maximizing all the nutrients that you can get out of your food. And we'll talk about that in this episode. I hope you enjoy it. Stick around for the odds and ends ending. Because today, I'm specifically going to be continuing this conversation around juice in general and bring to us some information that you may not realize about one of your favorite juices that you don't even have to juice yourself, and that is orange juice. This information you're going to want to listen to especially if you've never heard the term has spirit. An and if you are an orange juice avoid her because you fear gaining weight says. Stick around for the odds and ends ending. Here is my interview with Danielle Danielle welcome to the show. Thank you for having me excited to talk about this. When I got the request from a listener of the audience to do an episode on juicing. I knew exactly who to go to you. And I are good friends. I respect you immensely as a dietitian..

But somehow the hope that came from this story that the angels locked the lion's jaws. I mean, they love that story. And I think when you think of these kinds of songs, you got to think of what created that it was the story so much. They start singing about it, you know, and you had their songs reaching back to the ancestors. Do you think they felt that also that old belief that was there was planted in them their songs reaching to God, I think in the early days of slavery. Yes, because for a long time, there were a lot of ancestors from Africa who were still there on the plantations and so they got that sense. For example, with Mary McLeod within her, grandmother was one of came over from Africa with two sisters and she remembered songs and store. And saying those songs to the children. Now, nobody in my family now remembers any of the songs that we have the stories of her singing the songs to the children and so on. And part of the songs were, it was through the songs of the faith was transmitted. You know, I mean, it's really it's, it's taking the story hole and passing it on. It's pretty good bible study. "Show on eight? Sixty m the answer It is an amazing. Thing and actually it's a pretty scary thing these criminals, these young black men these thugs these gang bangers they really don't think they'll ever be. Caught and the numbers back him up what an empowering thing I can. Illegally use a gun I can commit a, crime with a gun I can shoot, somebody and I'll never get caught I know. I'll never get caught this is the mindset that are cops are dealing with in the city right, now and I'll say again our politicians members of, the community we've made the job of a cop too. Damn difficult and I will judge is you judges have made the jobs of, our cops too difficult and I think. We could go a long way towards fixing this problem if we let Top speak ops if we let them do their thing if. We let him, get, down and dirty and do their. Thing let them profile let them do whatever the hell, they need to do let him be smart tough cops but we probably won't let me. Go to Danielle Danielle how you doing how were you pretty good I.
