"Book. Yes i'm going to change. I'm trying to change my behavior on my wife. So my favorite steven king book is the stand. The scariest book of his ever read was it. I don't know if it was my time of life. But i was freaked out entirely by it interest. And then but i but another one of my favorite books of his is Gerald's wife Game cheers thank. You dallas guard. That has a netflix station to. That's crazy. I haven't seen it and i've been dined. It wasn't a great book. It was a great book. And when i read it was like it's dirty too dirty sexual stuff in it. Because the first book i have read was The dark half and then right after that was needful things and then gerald's game. There was like a preview of gerald's game in the back of the dark half and there it started with like a sex scene. I was always like oh man this book and it was good. Yes just psychological. The whole thing takes place in her head. It's crazy they're able to make the whole thing takes place in her. It's you have to be such a good right. I think he is so underrated as a writer. So do i. What i always say people think about him like horror horror but i think what he does better than anyone is he creates characters that you immediately fall in love with like within the first chapter and then they get put in these crazy situations and they respond like real people respond. I i love everything out greg character development great story is simple. Easy to follow is really digestible and is really easy to read. I think he writes very conversationally. So you don't have to. There's no effort in reading him. You just get lost in the words and you go on the story. I've i've read so many of his books. I think the first book of his i read was salem. Lot and i did not sleep Forever i mean forever enslaved but i didn't scare me as much as it is scared. The shit outta me saw i saw it on. Tv whenever when it came out on tv and it fuck me up there and anything happening with children bothers me. Anything that were children get child gets hurt or that really fox meals pretty and i hate clowns. I really hate joke about it. I said I know when the is also a balloons. I hate worse. Start with it. And so the joke was i think that i think that when they wanna balloon pops they should when people blow up balloons. They should put their secrets in berlin. So that when they pop we hear all their secrets. And so you go pup. And it's like i was molested by clown clown pop off ounce do as most people ha- fucking clowns know. Andy's one of my favorite comics he really is. And what's so funny. Is he has a joke in. Sometimes it's with like comic like nicobar godsey or daniel tosh to. I'm telling you my favorite comics right now..

"Correct. Okay matt yeah so that was weird right anyway. All good anti heroes learn the world needs a little evil to show us what good really is and so here. We are going to go on this epic arc of warren peace trying to figure out what side of the line. He's really on 'cause you know you get that whole arcade sky high whereas like is a good guy and emo kids can have friends to and that's two thousand six. Maybe so we need a real art of war and peace trying to navigate adulthood. Figure out if he wants to lean into his father's villainy or lean into his mother's super heroism. But what if those roles were reversed and in this new ark warren peace will have to fight the for profit industrial government prison project to free his father from prison and take down his former hero mother who has broken bad and his playing judge jury and executioner in the city streets. She's decided power breeds evil. Warren has learned that evil breeds. Good who will win in this epic. Moral quandary the sounds like commentary for something. I can't quite put my finger on it. i was gonna say it. Sounds like the tagline alien versus predator. The thing though is like you keep your you. Keep your metaphors vague enough. That people can map them onto whatever they want. That's how you get the big audience the wide net Leave it up for interpretation seeing. It'll it'll keep the people guessing his dad's last name battle which leads you to believe. His mom's last name is peace because he his last name is peace but then if she's the bad guy yeah at sets the m night shyamalan. You're at else sells tickets. Inputs butts in seats is putting nathan fillion in the mc you which is what. I'm important question while it's not good question what what now cancelled comedian. Who is successful in the two thousand casting. Because that's that's really going to matter to get those butts in the seats. Do i have to do that. What if i didn't do i mean according to hollywood you do. You just said. I could not do that. I can only think of daniel tosh. I mean we could make rosie. O'donnell mom dad. We redeeming actor for the dad. Dad's gonna be the good always the good guy okay. The dad's got gotta be like somebody who we all thought was bad but actually turned out to be good. That was everybody said something at the same time. And i'm sure all your answers were good. But i didn't hear any of them can his dad be all of nickelback.

"All right, welcome back. Okay. So like I said the middle finger. Yeah. So here is here is the origin of why the middle figure is so offensive the middle figure the middle here is the me do that again takes you back here is the origin of why the middle finger up is offensive. Okay. So during the Hundred Year War, okay between the English and the French armies. I hope the big hundred year war or the Englishman, you know the bow and arrow guys. Yeah, but they had the larger starts The Archers can think of it the archers. Thank you would like the Longbow and they would be basically they were like fucking snipers. Yeah. They were like, they would shoot there be able to shoot the Longbow from anywhere. Boom poop. The French were like, you know this bullshit they got these they got these archers there like snipers wage. Taking us out left and right. So anytime the French army would capture a longbow Soldier they would cut off his middle finger because it was what he used to draw back the bow. No shit when the English longbowmen would come across the French army and Escape they would stick up their middle fingers at them like as like a basically as like an act of defiance of like ha ha stick on the middle fingers like it's still shoot my Longbow like fuck you baby is right and that's how the middle finger became a derogatory. That's awesome. I think I heard a different history lesson for the middle finger back, but I that's I felt some fucking love that story story. I actually think that we should turn into a short film. Oh, absolutely. I think that's I think that would be a great job. Absolutely. So yeah, that's cool. You know, we should tell Daniel Tosh cuz Daniel Tosh did in his stand-up or whatever. He saw like who got so mad one day that he was just like, yeah. Yep. Yeah, exactly. Was it Dane Cook either way, but yeah, so that is the that is what I found as far as the history of the I don't know why it was a part that it's fricking ridiculous do that's awesome. I love that song. Okay. So let's move real quick into Florida man. Yeah, let's go floor mat. Here we go side note one of the floor mats stories today. We would need a theme song for it, which we should we should find one. We should find a flaw we should be fined doing the pain thing again. We should find a Florida Man theme song..

‘Tosh.0’ to End After 12 Seasons at Comedy Central

"Point. Oh, coming to an end the show wrapping after its upcoming Twelfth Season Daniel Tosh just signed a four season deal with comedy central back in January. So not sure if he's going to remain with the network season twelve of top debut. September fifteenth on Comedy Central. Did anybody else like, kind of raised eyebrows. When you heard that he just got a four season extension was going to go through sixteen seasons of tosh boy. No I didn't even know it was still there. I lost track of Tauch. I've actually been wondering where he is like just in terms of doing stand up because you just haven't heard his name as much. As I cannot believe that that show has been going on that long. That's crazy. He was so smart about that whole ride though he knew it was going to come to an end and he just went out and did a ton of standup shows around centered around the success of that show and banked a ton of money. 'cause you knew it was gonNA come to a narrow eventually. It just was a format that. You can go on twitter and see a million different comics doing the same thing. Every single day now. So I I still thought their writers were good. It was super edgy and it was I. thought that was hilarious.

"And consideration with somebody else. But this idea of unconditional love is always a condition and I come back to another comedian. Daniel tosh talked about this where we and his thing is about you know basically a man hitting a woman, and which I'm not condoning, believe me in the Matt going, but his idea is is never okay for a man to hit a woman, and he says what. Yeah, there's some. There's some grey area that what if you come in and your wife? Is You find your wife kill? You just killed you. Two children them in the bathtub into the back dunk that there is it okay to hit it and so there are a my. What thinking that means that a conditions to everything so if your wife killed killing each other, is that unconditional love still there? No, there's a condition there that might condition is kill my children, and I will love you, but so that idea of unconditional has some boundaries in some limitations, so it's not really ever know conditions, is it? Well if you think of such extreme conditions as killing your kids. While? Perhaps. Yeah I understand that extreme, but the so but I think you need to take that in my mind, you know when words have power so when you use the word unconditional at means, is apple in no condition, so you have to kind of draw the lines, and and I'm not saying this thing. All the way completely threw like that as a potential killer, but they're the realization that there are some conditions that that are going to be applied here. No matter what and there are some dealbreakers. No. Look! Again the route to boy I think there are two perspectives on this first. One is practical from the of spectacle of course when it comes to. Like a young children are being very very. Well, even a you know you don't have to go that extreme, think about adultery. And some people, adultery is a deal breaker, and so that's the condition, which I cannot accept so if you if you're suggesting an and again, this goes back to that email I'm not being confrontational here. I'm trying to learn, but the idea that there are no conditions when they obviously is a condition that you don't cheat on me is is is the condition Is that acceptable or not of you say or are you? Are you saying unconditional love means even that is like off the table. You know when it comes to daltry. I sink that this is. This is not an exact about conditional love, but it's more about values, so for example, if a couple would read on on there in values before before getting together in the end, they decided that one of the balance is loyalty. It just it just means that they broke broke the value and Does it. The does for exactly one. Right so on that. Note the only when you talk about relationships, are we? Are we really just talking about romantic relationships in love relationship? Blaker a spouse, or do you work on relationships that go beyond that? You know because everything is a relationship. My My my. Interaction with my co workers relationship my interaction with my band. This is a this is a friendly relationship because. Guess is a relationship. Do you work with people on that kind of stuff or strictly what we call love relationship. Yeah were on all kinds of relationships. Especially because people might come to me with a romantic relationship issue, a you know as we delve, injure their challenges in the I. Get to know them better. It always know takes us into deeper things, including and probably most important their relationship to themselves. Gotcha I'M.

We had no mention of this guy before then, but find whatever we ended up missing a few small shows. You eager to go see so we get there earlier. And despite being promised off street parking, we can only park on the street. It sucked, but no big deal. We had a long day and we're pretty tired anyways, so we got to the House and Frank. It was freshly painted in the fumes were so strong. I was getting migraine than the doors to the backyard blocked off with address dresser so much dust under the bed. It was ridiculous, and then we noticed two things. One was the wooden plank holding up the curtains. It was big thick heavy. Heavy looking thing it was holding onto the wall by a nail on each side half of it already went right off the wall, leaving a huge gap. This is right above the head of the bed. That was it for my boyfriend. He wanted out the second point was my big thing. The door to the rest of the house had a lock. There was also a gap between it and the floor. "Off. I didn't get all the way through the latest. Pardon my take and I know Patton oswalt on and I'm interested to see how that went for you guys 'cause I I like pat and a whole lot and I was. I was glad to see us on there. Was He there to talk about the? Hbo Special yes there was HBO special. We we had a really good conversation about comedy. And the general consensus of you know how comedy will push the boundary and then they'll always be over response and we've seen it probably in the last five years where people will whether you want to call it. The canceled culture woke or whatever it may be comedy will always prevail and I really enjoyed like hearing that perspective from someone who's in the profession being like look at times you can overreact and say that like comedy is dying but the this has happened throughout like the history of Culture American culture. There have been times where they have. They have clamped down on what can and can't be said on TV or radio and then in comedy and smart people push back and eventually we get even better things. So I like that message and I feel like that. That's kind of an important one to remember when you feel like. Hey you know. They're making sure that I can ever make a joke again. I don't think that's ever. We make FUNNIER JOKES. And Smarter Jokes. Don't you think when comedy comes back live in front of audiences that they're they're going to tolerate way more that this may be the point where we get recalibrated so that people aren't trying to You know Social Justice Warrior their way out of a comedy club yelling at Daniel Tosh as they Table over yeah. Yeah and I actually think that the comedy club thing to me. I really do think that it should just be like and this will sound a little bit too far but I do think it should be illegal to videotape anything at a comedy club. Because it's just so weird to me that someone could videotape of a stand set and then put it on the Internet and be like look at this and it's like all context all like. Hey let's go to a comedy club you have when you're like. Hey let's go to a comedy show will time a couple of drinks going to relax. We know what were expecting. We're going to expect jokes then putting it on the Internet where it's a sober mind sees it and not only sober mind but someone who didn't opt in for the comedy show it's crazy to me. It's crazy to me. I think it's so wrong. It's kind of like when when a lot of people. I think one of the things that I absolutely hate the gets done. Now is transcription of podcasts. Or or audio. Where tone and everything that goes into it is completely lost. It becomes something totally different than what it said. All right last thing I have for you. If you're one of those protesters in Raleigh North Carolina that carries a bazooka into the subway. What does your order have to be you? You have to at least get a twelve inch right. Even if you're not hungry you get a six inch you are. That's just the saddest thing ever. I got a twelve inch meatball. I think that sounds people. Yeah but I would like to see if any of those guys were like you know what? I'm watching my figure. I'm you know I wanNA make sure that I'm ready for the for the impending civil war that we're going to create in wherever they were in the hills North Carolina but. Yeah that's that was the site. I actually think we should let them go. And and like find an island and let them all just live there and fight each other. Like all judy in real life and eventually kind of will take care of itself new they. They think they're on the island right now. If you're trying to get the other people off sure it's a great point. That's a great point. Big Having Barstool sports pardon my take. Can I have that on wheat? You can't you can't say as please pardon my take with Patton oswalt. The latest episode is up right now. "They just thought they sound sure they've been in, you know grant petite protected newsroom positions like fake news room positions in public media. For I don't know twenty years or something. And they kind of talking like this, this, we found somebody who was the first person to eat bread in New Jersey or something like. The fuck. We talking about. So, yeah, those, what are the things that you don't like when you hear is it? Is it me? It's not you. I tell you what. I don't like the my two biggest problems are a rambling, I, I can't stand win. They're like just going on and on before getting to what the podcast is supposed to be about, like, whatever the main subject is. And then really I mean being a main subject got it. Okay. Yeah. And then the, the other thing is, I mean, I hate to be like a stickler for this. But quality like it's really difficult. If it's not, at least just like a baseline, okay quality it's got a it's got a sound. All right. It doesn't have to be, you know, all SM seven Bs and perfectly treated rooms and nicely edited perfect, but it's got at least sound. All right. And like I mean you rule out literally ninety nine percent of all podcast. Without qualification. Sorry, guys. I mean it's true like I don't know if the barriers so high. I mean do we really sound much better now that we did when we first started, I guess we do? I think for. Yeah. Also, we've gotten yeah. We've done a lot better to with our like dealing with these long distance recording apps like they are all still terrible. But we've worked around them a little better. Now, I should say, people are probably hearing my cracking voice a Barth. My brains out the other night. I don't know why it was horrendous woke up in the middle of the night, I had to make up sprint for the for the toilet. I didn't get the, the lower seat that outer ring up in time, so I spent a lot of time afterwards and it was just an avalanche. It was a disaster. I never throw up and I had like four beers, which is not very many for me. You know, I mean I don't drink like I used to obviously, but I don't drink nothing. You know, and I just don't train nothing. Are. I welcome to another week of drink. Q. Presbyterian. Dave on the phone. So, yeah, you're hearing is one of the two manifestations of that random. Vomiting episode. And the other the other one is that I feel like I did a hundred crunches. It feels good. And I still have been able to eat much since then feel good. I feel slim like I wonder why people don't do how come nobody's thought of just like throwing up to, to beat skinny I don't know. I mean, it seems like it would work in theory, kith see any kind of like drawback or anything. I don't know. Maybe I'm not thinking all the way through. I gotta say your voice, sounds completely normal really feel like the last syllables of some words like dropping out like when I finish his sentence, like the last syllable drops out or something like that. You got like a form of vocal. Fry yeah. Yeah, it's involuntary vocal fry because I contend that all the millennial vocal fry is a, a plea for attention. Yeah. Now that we're talking about it before we get on our first topic, you do kind of have Oakland fry. Like I do explain to the people what your as you try to edit me sometimes or try to like figure my audio. What like you said that I have highs and lows like like my highs. And my lows are too high into low or like how did you plan it? Yeah. It's like it's almost like two voices being mixed together. You've got like a deep Basie voice, and a like a high vocal fry type voice, and you could hear them both like if you really listen to your voice, it's you hear both of those voices and they, they mesh in the one voice, because it is just coming out of one mouth, put it it's very interesting. It's an interesting voice. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but it's it's certainly unique. Oh, not gonna are up to you because like love hearing about myself. Love hearing other people talk about me and the things that I that I have and that I that I do you're doing it right now. Doing the voice. Of smiling. It's I'm so narcissistic, like the fact that I care. This is a narcissistic world. It is I was thinking about that lately, as we move into my next five minutes of material, as lowly begin, this, this thing where I'm going to try to become a stand up comedian. He has noticed narcissus people are, hey, worlds are cystic. All right. You know what I'm talking about, especially this guy. This girl this girl over here is is, is doing. Would it be funny if you got raped right now? No, no data Tosh. You know, they didn't know Daniel Tosh was was a news writer down here in Miami for a long time. Like he was a by the way. Just in case anybody's wondering about that horrible, rape joke. That wasn't mine very famous Daniel Tosh joke that like got him. I don't know like what's the temporary version of canceled, like semi canceled on? No. Yeah, I've always wondered about why he's never gotten cancelled. I mean I used to like he did. He did for a minute, like, right. He was like the text of nobody shows. They're like, yeah, yeah, but like it but I mean, he's, he's got a show like five months year. Something like he's, he's doing fine. I it's interesting that his career hasn't really. I guess it's almost like I don't think he's conservative or anything like that. But it's almost like, yeah, we talk about like trumping, it, you know, like it's just Trump here with. It's like it's like your football coach. You sprain, your foot, and he's just like rub some dirt on. It just walk it off. Walked this goes back to my thing, where with the whole, not just me too, but any kind of like cancelable moment, like any moment, where like a celebrity, or somebody of renown is facing cancellation just if, as long as your audience and the consumers for the thing that you make. As long as the Vendela Graham is small enough of them with the kind of people who would actually care about that, right? You're gonna be fine. People whoever let's say that there's still one and a half million people in this country that tune in for Tosh point. Oh, whenever that airs. I mean is long as that one and a half million people? Don't give a fuck about cancel culture and social Justice shit. I mean Daniel tasha just beyond forever, because I'm sure his show gets better ratings than the fucking daily show, our whatever garbage. They're putting on now. We actually promoted Daniel Tosh is first CD back in the day as one of one of the artists that I promoted remember that we used to promote ups, we did, I guess we were kind of stand up Jason because we were promoting. We were promoting David tell, and we had, what was the other the other CD we listened to it a lot. Well, also Jim gaffe again, I don't know if that's what you're thinking again. I think we the very first gaffe again, one Micra bigly Dane cook cook. I remember Mike don't remember that. But yeah, yeah. All those in, there was a couple of others to. But yet back there was also that weird comedy festival that they did like one or two years here in Vegas and then stopped it. We'd be out there. You know, promoting these, these comedians, our at the time up and coming at the time like David tell was he had been around for a while. But he had been on TV for a couple years, but he was still like I mean, he's an old man now. And back then he was like, yeah, I guess, fresh it. It's weird looking at old David L videos, because it's, it's, it's hard to imagine him young. He's just seems like an old man. Phil thinking about David L. Yeah. At how like I mean he can't be that much older. Than us. Yeah. I think he's probably almost sixty. Yeah, I guess he is he is way older than us a solid like twenty something years older than I would think, so at least fifteen but probably twenty. Yeah. Like like who's sixteen years older than us is. I was looking at up to because he has a eaters emanating out. It was just some like old documentary of his at heat that he had John Leguizamo. Right. Like that's what one to try to figure out like an age like old is John Leguizamo, Z older than us. And it's like he's wailed us but it feels like he's not. I don't know how to explain it. Right. Right. I guess it's just dying. I guess we're just tiny. What about pop punk bands. Yeah. We all the, the cop punk bands, who satisfying the world of seeing them, like you know what? I don't know why still have them as friends on Facebook. I'm friends with the band goldfinger on Facebook and they'll share, like share stuff on Facebook all the time. And you see them in your every time you see a picture this, you're like, oh, it's too bad. It's too bad that turned out that way. And then you like those guys have millions of dollars. They probably look like their best selves. How must I look to to win? I liked goldfinger. Like when I was twenty twenty three was a fucking like sleek, tan Puerto Rican, God of a man. And I mean I was like, you know, just walking around in size thirty genes like didn't matter like nothing. I did mattered as. And as fuck it fully. That's how you talked all. Yeah. I would walk around saying, what is it? So those guys from goldfinger from less than Jake look like shit. How must I look? Was dude. I don't know. You wanna talk about this, this article you sent. Sure. Yeah. I mean, it's just it's more doom and gloom, which we, we love here on this podcast. I think kind of goes along with your live show, the coming up over there, Miami, but yet to new report suggests high likelihood of human civilization coming to an end in twenty fifty the climate change in Alice's was written by a former fossil fuel executive and backed by the former chief of Australia's military, and it basically just talks about how climate change it, you know, it's basically, too late in it is, you know, the, the next thirty years, it's going to be disastrous. A near to mid term existential threat to human civilization. Sets out a plausible scenario where business as usual could lead over the next thirty years. I always, I'm always weirded out by those kind of, like vagaries where it's like businesses usual meaning like the output of because I mean, I've read the Jeff Goodell's book, the water, the, the water will come and he the science is pretty clear that like, and I hate to sound like like the latter day Republicans in this way, but the science does say that there's nothing that we're going to do in the next thirty years that will change anything for anybody who's living on the globe..

"Wasn't maybe that funny. Uh-huh. And that's where the problem is like, I know Daniel Tosh had a rape joke that. Yeah. It's horrible subject. You know, I've done nine eleven jokes. Obviously, not the I think the joke is funny. You get a a lot of leeway. I mean, I think that you can I hate to boil it down to something that simple. But if you look at some of the harder edge jokes. You know, I think the. You know, they get not a free pass. Oh that that is pretty funny. Well, I think that it. I mean, I think the question is funny to who. Right. Oh, sure. It's and I think that I think that if I were to tell a joke about. Let's say a disabled black person right in any audience that I tell that jokin chances. Are there won't be a disabled black person right because that's two different demographics. Right. So so the people there might laugh at it, right? But if it's hurtful, if there does happen to be a disabled black person there, or if someone their knows a disabled black person, and it's hurtful to them right to me. It doesn't matter if it's funny right to me. It's like look. Well, sure, these people laughed. But but this was hurtful, right? So even when when Kevin Hart was doing his joke about breaking Dollhouse over his gay kits. Head. People laughed at that. Right. So to to some and maybe too many that was funny. Right. But the other side of that is it's also hurtful, right? Sure. So I think I think it's to him to say, look, I thought it was funny. But I see now that it was hurtful, and and I think instead of saying therefore, I won't do it again, which I think is a cop out. I think the move is to say, and I apologize for hurting people. I didn't think of it that way before now that I've now that I've been educated I see how that was hurtful, and I'm sorry to the people I hurt and I won't do that. Again. I think if you're genuine in your apology. Like, the if you saw the governor on Saturday. A I didn't see it. Now. It was the worst apology. His well, you know, you know, how hard shoe polishes to get off your face Jesus. And it's like you could just. It was a bad joke. You're trying to imitate Michael Jackson, your character actor, but like it was only thing. Shoot polish is hard to get out. So I only put half of it on. Yes. That's like I said, I don't understand. Why people aren't better at apologizing? I feel like I feel like. The whole ethos of like Trump's has this a lot and a lot actually a lot of Republicans say this a lot. I'm not gonna apologize. No apologies. No apologies. And I'm like, why is that a good thing? No apologies. It's like if you hurt someone you should apologize. It's actually really simple to me. Oh, yeah. I don't get why. It's complicated. Right. Like, the US has done some shitty stuff in the past to other countries and to our own citizens. Fucking apologize. Apologize and make amends time. I step on your foot. I'm gonna apologize. Well, I think it depends on the, you know, obviously, the individual like Trump. I'm not a hater or supporter. He neck apologize. You know, right now, he would never have one of the reasons he's shit bag as he can't eat can't fathom apologizing. He's an asshole. Yeah. I mean, I laugh at the people who expect him to turn it around security, seventy one. I mean, I'm fifty and I'm pretty set in my ways from the standpoint of how I behave. He ain't apologize. Although I do secretly want him to win in twenty twenty. I just he's so he's a maniac. He's a maniac. No, no. I just. He's so good for comedy. He's not. No, he's horrible president. But as a stand up he gives me material every day every president material every day give it he gives a lot. How much of your is Trump material? Also, do you have any black or gay friends who are who are suffering because of all right? So is it worth it the material that you're getting a cold blooded person? Now, I I refuse to believe that I think are just being provocative. Oh, no. I mean, I well, here's the problem for Trump. I didn't vote for him last time. Okay. Now, you're gonna vote for him in twenty twenty..

"Beetroot yourself talk about the stuff that you wanna talk about like, I mean like you said I mean Brennan shop could sit there and talk about fighting one of the no garra brothers legendary Brazilian. Yeah. Heavyweights? I can't talk about that. You can't talk about. Oh and people now because information stone is so often the truth. Has a quality to it going back to what you're saying about honesty that, you know, something alive, but something that is replicated or exaggerated dozen, and you can really detect it. So it's like, oh, yeah. No. He would know what it's like what this feels like the fear is if we watch Brennan Schwab's our together, and he's just doing an hour of pussy jokes. I would be a bit. Let down like I'd be like, no, man. You got an angle like, I wouldn't Mick Foley, the wrestler life, and my buddy Brendan was opening for him for bit. And he had to tell him like, no don't try and be a stand up. You have to tell jokes about being a wrestler your wrestler. That's that's your hook your hook is. And oh, I got thrown off a steel cage. Heavy ever noticed shoes. Sometimes they're squeaky on a Wilma floor. It's like, hey. I don't have a fucking ear. Here's what occurred with that little store. That's right. You gotta know your angle, and it's also standups get really like, we're brotherhood the freedom of speech warriors. And it's like talking we're not freedom of speech warriors like people telling jokes. It's there's once in a generation, there's a great political mind. But I feel that also this pressure to be like the truth tellers, sometimes gets really conflicted and annoys the shit out of me. I mean, I think. I don't look at myself as a social Justice warrior for the the good of other comics. But I think the problem with some of these comics who get in trouble as the jokes funny. That's exactly right. It's funny will win out and get you through. It's just you my girlfriend went to a a she's a sketch comedian and writer, and she went to a workshop with someone specifically it was about. Sort of writing comedy in this new age and someone made a point, and I have a horrible memory. So I'm probably missing remembering parts of it. But the essential idea was you have to remember that you have to write from your perspective, but also know to tackle really complex dangerous. Hot button, topics. You need to be a triple Dan black bell warrior of knowing exactly how you're approaching it. Perfectly to make as many people as humanly possible laugh at that premise, and if you if you can't do that, then don't do it because you're gonna miss the Mark and agree. There's a lot of times usually that's not a funny joke. That was the issue. Why did you talk about why didn't someone go? Wasn't that funny? Don't don't do that job. I think like. I forget the joke. Daniel Tosh rape joke. I think at the laugh factory maybe like three or four years ago. Oh, I know what you're talking about a great comic. He's a great comment that by the way, get ready to feel crazy old that was probably nine years ago. Yeah. I mean, I know. I mean, I'm dating myself for sure, but I remember it. Absolutely. Yeah. I think the controversy really was these two comets jokes. Just not that finally. Yeah. If you know like, I I'll be honest. I think the Louis C K joke. Like, I get what he was going for. In like there is that image of you know, some skinny kid push the fat kid in the way. But you know, it just it might have been too soon. I didn't listen to the what was it? Like, I just it's something of with the parklands shoot in that. You know, those kids really weren't. Here are not this is not the joke. But it's the premises. Something along the lines of is a kid really a hero because he pushed a fat kid in the way the shooter. You know, that's not the joke. But it that kind of similar premise, you know, that's a tough one..

"I want to bring us back to the film believes to about a serious moment. That's no laughing matter most of this movie's balk as earlier, oh, man. So they're they're the bar a bar fight eventually breaks out, right or they're fucking around with each other. And. They do. He does a hand by his crotch. Yeah. Yeah. NHL plan. Yeah. And again, it's the seventh grade joke. That's something people. Looks at it. And he says ballg as our punches this sets off this domino goes into motion. This is great where everyone in the bar starts fighting. Yes, you catch these. I sure did the come up there. It's a rob Hubel and Daniel Tosh point no in a poor. Rob you blessed to play like second fiddle to to Daniel Tosh is he playing second fiddle. I think he's kind of like, yeah. Let's get dash. Josh Josh is the one who's like really instigating the fight. And by the way to this day, thankfully, Daniel Tosh is only film credit that's a tragedy. One and done. Love grew at so good. Boy, he's got plenty of TV ones where he introduces YouTube clips, that's still happening. That's got idea, but sixty bucks. Shake the role Tosh point. Oh is still on the judge. No to twenty eighteen I'm sorry to ended last year. Seventy episodes of YouTube, and wow, that is a lot of talk about you too. I'm really happy. We didn't take that bet. I don't wanna get involved in owning Sadeki. There is a stupid thing. This was also a bad. So what why they're at that bar is because Mike Myers is like you have to confront your mother. So they drive to buffalo. Yes. And she is like a she's like, a preacher singer and acquired a Baptist church, whatever. And she's very domineering mother character, whatever, and it goes poorly, they leave and they're at this bar genetics. How they just end this scene of like, Mike Myers Romany medical get thrown out the window, then rob Hubel and Daniel Toshka thrown out the window and like, rob. He got glass in his head. Mike Myers has like a broom or a pool cue up his ass. They're all just like laughing about it. And it just it takes a commercial break. It just fades to black with these guys laughing. And like that's the end of that scene. Those characters never come back is you'd be laughing so hard, you wouldn't notice such a hard headed your is would be closing out. Right now laughter. Your laughter billing delirious, dude, you're just gonna come to consciousness again in the next. Yeah. That'd be one of those deflated jokes. They're just like, oh, yeah. You would be laughing. Who cares? The next scene, by the way is them some horrendo- snag. Gra falls green screen where they have like a little bit of a bonding moment that means nothing because it cuts to an elephant taken a shit, or whatever the sort of the ending of this movie such as it is right is all. Oh, please. I I was just looking at one of the things I wanted to cover my notes because it I think an wraps up this movie is it a bet. Sweating. No. When he invites Jessica Alba, oh to dinner at or. Pound flee. And this dude his his little assistant or whatever it is making the dish nuts in a sling. I will say actually the dude plain Russian issues doing a really fun job. He's got a really fun handle on this character. He's doing his best being the love guru and his best being in love. Exactly. But it's just weird thing where Mike Myers is like, all right this dinner. We're gonna have he regionals making nuts and a sling. And it's like what is it even two full offals thing because she's. Oh, okay. Her. But also that's after three minutes of them covering more than words together. That's the other musical number. You're right. And to contextualize this for people, though that this thing they're cooking. Looks like a nut sack joke. Yeah. And he's doing thing where he's like, do you want your, you know, your nuts pounded, or whatever is, of course. And the Deutz taking a meat tenderizer to this dough. Both of the joke is to one listen, that's too isn't Indian food weird. Oh my God. What are they over there? Fucking delicious Indian food, but they're doing thing. We're like Mike Myers is like reacting to what's happening to sleep in this dude pounds. He's like oh..

You know, and practical jokes. Gosh. Felony. Now, our guest in the studio comedian, Daniel Tosh, a man who is somewhat associated with a practical joke with the television program.
