"Cat. Incorrect. It's incorrect. I need a raise. This is crazy. Nina's farewell episode. My 500th in my last. Oh, what's in here? Oh my God. How is this my job? What the is it? Really get in there, Nina. Feel around. Is this noodles? Nope. No. Think about it. Is this Franken beans? Yes. Let's bring out the next box. Okay, hunter, Nina. Round two, the question is, which actor found out his first major movie role while he was taking a bubble bath. Is it a, Alexander Skarsgård? B, Ryan Reynolds, or C, Daniel Radcliffe. Hunter. Ryan Reynolds. Incorrect. Incorrect. Daniel Radcliffe. That was my second guess. And it was Harry Potter, the first one. Okay. Right? No gloves. Just so you know. Going in, raw, huh? I just hope this plate doesn't get pregnant. Touch it, what is it? Potatoes? On top of corn? Somebody get baby white. She's going to need some baby white. You're going to need some baby wipes. That's so gross. Okay, my guess is bull testicles on top of liver and onions. Very close. It's cottage cheese and kiwis. Pretty close. Okay, let's bring out the next box. Which singer confessed that they've had sex to their own music. Cringe. A Nick Jonas B Mariah Carey C future. Nina, that sounds like some future would say. It's too obvious. Nick Jonas? No. Okay, great. Can I give you a tip? No. So the gloves? I'll tell you right now. It takes away all the feeling. It's a college for this, you know. This smells awful. Have a whole my God. This is some kind of like seafood. What is this? I can't breathe. Hundred stop. Stop. I'm leaving. Is it a fish? It's fish. In what? In taste of what tastes what else it's in. Jell-O? Yes. Yeah. This is Jell-O. It's my grandma. God, it smells so bad. What is this? Why is this so big? Okay, are you guys ready? Last round. There's a person in here. I'm gonna squeeze whatever's in there. Oh my God, I'm terrified. Okay, thirsty fans once dubbed this actor, the butterscotch stallion. Is it a, Ryan Gosling, B, Owen Wilson, or C, Charlie Hunnam? Who is calling Owen Wilson a stallion? I'm going for a incorrect. Oh my God. It's Owen Wilson. Butterscotch stallion Owen Wilson, only to be followed up by his caramel lover Luke Wilson. Why are you there with the trash can Tom what's going on? I don't know. Here we go. First thing he did. The biggest in the box, okay? Oh my God, your shoes are right now. I've been here for 15 minutes. Welcome back. I'm so happy to see you. And not a tarantula. By the way. First of all, hi. That was stressful. And Seth called me last week. He's like, we've gotten Nina to agree to do this game one more time. You got to get into a box. I was like, no, no. Coming out from maternity leave for one hour to get it. I'm back for just for fun. 500 episodes I had. Can you celebrate you guys? I mean, I don't know how many have been on those 500 episodes. This is the first time I think I've seen you without a baby in you. I don't know if you've already got another one coming. There's no more babies. No more babies. I'm coming back so soon. Like in a month. I want to see you get in that box. You should really try to see what I had to go through. If that's all the time we have for tonight, so we are going to put hunter in the box and keep him there until tomorrow. That is it for tonight's best of nightly pop at nightly pop the show. It has been so much fun reliving these moments with you guys. Thanks to everyone who watched like, subscribe, DM, comment, complain. We appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you so much for watching.

"Her manager would also have to be dead, which we know isn't true, but is a fun theory to think about. Yeah, that would be kind of interesting. I know Sandra Bullock did say, I mean, she doesn't usually do sequels, but she said she would be interested in doing a sequel to this. Oh, I would watch a sequel to this. Oh yeah, me too. I just want to know where it goes. I mean, I love the characters. I thought all the characters were great, even the manager that she was hysterical. Oh my God, she killed me. When she was like, I want to have my shoulders and my feet rubbed at the same time. I was like, I get being tired, girl. Yes. She was so funny. And I thought that I loved their friendship, and I love how she would do anything for her. Like, yes, they worked together, but she did genuinely care about her. I mean, she jumped on a boat, a plane. She got in the weird plane with Oscar from the office. Yeah, and you know, the funny thing is, Sandra Bullock says, at one point, she goes, she won't care because she can just get some young writer to take my place. But she does care. She does care. And she likes Sandra Bullock, and she does go on. She risked her own life to go and try and get Sandra Bullock. Exactly. And I think that just hammers in more of the message of the movie is that connection matters and people matter. And if you foster these relationships with people around you, then it's going to matter. It's going to be fun. And Sanders Sandra Bullock's character thought that her husband was the only person that cared about her and once he died that she had no one and she was alone, but she wasn't. She was surrounded by people. He says that when they're walking through the back area of the convention hall, he's like, why are you locking yourself away? From people that care about you. And emphasizes that. And then they have the whole part about the mummy, and then I thought it was funny that, you know, the guy cooking goes, yeah, she's right mommy, people. These are human. But then I layer that at the end of that scene we get back to it and is talking to him and he's just like unloading on him and the guy's just like, all right, dude, you're going through a lot, but I need to get to these tomatoes. I have a job to do. Yeah, it was pretty good. And I like the fact that, you know, the treasure that they were seeking, they thought it was this jewel crown that the prince gave to the princess, but it wasn't. It was just like, he took these Red Sea shells out of the sea every day of their relationship. And weave them into a crown. So it wasn't like a jeweled crown. It was just a crown of seashells, but it meant so much to the princess and their love. I thought that was kind of cool. I thought that was cool. And again, it hammers in the point of connection, connection over money, like friendship over capitalism, like love, over diamonds. She could have had, she had all these suitors, and the only way that he could prove his love to her is by bringing her these ones seashell everyday to weave into this crown, and that's why she fell in love with him. It was that dedication it was that love, it was that constant commitment, which we see reverberated through every other relationship in this movie, and I think it really makes the message so powerful. Yeah, and especially when they find that the tomb, and they said, this is kind of a weird place to be. And she's like, it's for her to weep. It's for her to mourn him. Because he died first, I guess. And she built that place so that she could go there and just pine away because of her love. Which is unhealthy, but that's what Sandra Bullock wanted to do in the beginning of the movie. She wanted to lock herself in her home with the memories of her husband and all his things, and she couldn't let go and I thought that it was so great to see it again and she could see herself in history and be like, oh, I don't want to die alone in the arms of my dead lover. Like, I am going to live life. Like there's still more for me. Yeah, there's a lot of metaphors in that movie for each character. Each character's had a pot with the other people in history. It was really good. It's so good. And it's so rich, but it's also hysterical. Like it's also so funny that it's like, I don't know, I can't say enough good things about this movie. I highly recommend it. Is on paramount plus. Everyone should watch it. Yes. Listen, like I said, I passed it by numerous times thinking there would be something better than finally I broke down and watched it and I'm very glad I did. It was a great movie. A lot of laughs, a lot of fun. Enjoyable all the way through. I don't think there was one part when I was like, okay, I got to go get a drink, or I had a sit and watch to find out what was happening. Oh, absolutely. The storytelling was precise, the camera work was good. Acting obviously amazing. It was so fun. And it's just like a summer movie that you want to watch. You know, I feel like sometimes we get so bogged into franchise films and what's the next biggest thing going to be and I feel like now I like this movie because it feels like we're getting back into this era of film that I love the most. It's like right in the early 2000s where a lot of mid, not like mid movies were coming out, but a lot of movies were coming out. They had a lot of star power, but they were just like average movies. They were just like fun, chill movies. No one was trying to do crazy things with them. And I feel like we're getting back to that. Which is good. I mean, I like the superhero genre, but it's kind of getting played out. The superheroes on everything now. Every channel has something to do with superheroes. It reminds me of like the vampire days. Yeah, exactly. Like superheroes are the new vampires, which is fine. It's going to fade out, but I love, I love movies like this that just get back to the fun. And I feel like this movie is ushering in all these new fun movies to come because you can get so caught up in franchise films or like horror films or just like, it's one of the biggest industries because there's so much that's coming out of it. But I think this is refreshing. I mean, obviously there are some other movies that are refreshing like RRR, superhero film, super refreshing though. It's three hours long. It just know that it is three hours long, but it's great. It's super fun. Yeah, there's like a bunch of shows too. I like the boys. Oh, I love the voice. The voice is great. I like invincible. I like The Umbrella Academy. So there are a bunch of good shows out there dealing with superheroes. And the new miss marvel is great on Disney. Oh, I haven't watched that one yet. It's actually very good. Didn't think it was going to be, but it deals with that. She's Indian, and it deals with Indian culture, and it's actually really education. That's awesome. I'll have to watch it. And I think movie shows a movie like everything that you just listed are good because they're offshoots of this main genre that is so predominantly cis and white and stray. And it's like, we need to add some life into it because that is not the world we live in, and I am sick of it and tired of it. Yeah, everything's not gumdrops and roses right now in the world. Yeah. So there's like a little superheroes yeah, but I like the fact that they show that they're just because you're named a superhero doesn't make you a super exactly. And I think tying back to the lost city, this movie, you are more than the cover of yourself. 'cause Daniel Radcliffe's person seems like he wants to do the right thing, but underneath he really doesn't. He doesn't. He just wants money and fame and he feels slighted by his younger brother. It's like obviously due to your unstable and couldn't handle it. It shows like with that because when he takes Sandra Bullock, at first he's like, oh, I told you guys not to make it weird. You made it weird. And it seems like he's really not that bad of a person. But then the underlying comes in and you're like, oh yeah, he's bad. It's like he was bad. He has her chained up. He's like, no, do it better, do it this. And she's like, no, I am an author, not a historian. I'm not an explorer. I can translate some of this for you, but and he's like, that's not good enough. And it's like, okay, well, you have to be, you can't, yeah. He was crazy, but he was really good. Yeah, all the characters were great. I'm glad to be back. Sorry we had this hiatus, but things happen in life. I mean, you know, so but we are back and we are on the People's Choice Awards. Oh my God, vote for us. That's right, we're under the people choice award and we're also under film. Yes, because we love watching movies and someone nominated us so we know that you guys like to hear us talk about movies and watch movies. So give us some votes. Maybe we can get this bigger, grow the wasp's family. We're just trying to have fun, you know? And we are going to be growing

"Oh, so we're just saying that he's got a big dick. He's like, what are you talking about? She's like, nothing, nothing. Just like, it's fine. But I thought it was really interesting too because their relationship is so rich and complex that it shows that even the parts that are, I mean, dash says it, he goes, you're gonna be a human mummy and she's like, but she was basically mummifying herself into this cocoon of sadness. And I don't know. I thought there was a lot of fun callbacks to dialog earlier in the film that was good. Now we can focus on Daniel Radcliffe and his minions because Daniel Radcliffe in this movie was amazing. I loved him. But when I think it's so interesting because we see him as this privileged white rich man who comes from money who's bypassed by his younger brother, who just wants fame and money and power and all this. And we see him destroy an island to get it. And I think that is so accurate to that mentality of like, oh, I have money. I want this. I'm going to go get it. And it's like a very colonizer mindset. And I thought it was so interesting to have one of his henchmen from the island, be like, no, you could see the tension building between them. And I thought that was really interesting. What are your thoughts? So my thoughts with this, it reminded me of Africa and the plunder of African resources like diamonds and things like that. Oh yeah. So it reminded me of how they don't care about Africa. They don't care nothing about the people. All they care about is getting the diamonds and getting the gold and getting anything they can get from Africa and not even reward the African people for what they've yet. I mean, they just take it and then they use their Africans as basically like slave labor. Absolutely. And I think Daniel Radcliffe really embodied that in this film. And I thought it was so interesting because you see his henchmen from the island and while they're talking, he's like, you know, you take from the island the island is going to take from you. And at the end, we see that Daniel Radcliffe has lost everything. So I thought that was kind of like a small victory, but it doesn't stop the fact that this happens all the time. Oh yeah, a 100%. I think one of the main points of this movie was what you seek might not be what you find. Exactly. I mean, like in life, everybody wants to seek fame and fortune and everything, but in the end, you really didn't achieve anything. Look at how many movie stars and actors and they've achieved everything they wanted and then they find out it was nothing that they really truly wanted. Their lives are meant nothing exactly. I mean, and I think, and I think it's kind of this consumer capitalist mentality that really came about in America that we have to just, it's like, we can never just be satisfied with what we have. We're always on to the next thing. It's like, okay, so what's next for you? What's the next level? How can you go far? It's like this drive in this push to keep pushing where you can't be satisfied because there's always something more. And it's like, well, sometimes there isn't more. Sometimes this is it. Sometimes you just want to be happy, you know? And I think dash sort of followed that mentality. Whereas Sandra Bullock's love more character really didn't, she was, she was like, I'm searching for something within my, I think she was searching for something within herself to make to make her feel okay about not leaving and instead she found the opposite. Yeah, there's one part where they're talking on stage, and she says, you know, she's attracted to intellectual people. And he goes, me too. And she goes, oh, really? Yeah. She doubts that something he really wants. And he really wants, he's actually very attracted to her. And loves her to pieces. And she doesn't see it because she's so narrow minded at the time that she thinks that he's just nothing. Exactly. And he constantly wants to learn from her. He's like, I want to hear what you have to say. I want to do this. How would you narrate this scene? Like, how does your mind work? Because I want to know that. So I feel like they are the same on that level, but that part of him out because he's not outwardly smart. I mean, I know some people that are crazy intelligent, but they say dumb things. Like, I mean, that's normal. Yeah, I do. Talking to this dumbest smartest people in the room. There's one pot. I will say this Brad Pitt's in the movie. Oh my God, Brad Pitt is in the movie. And he plays, they hire him to go save Sandra Bullock. And he's like this incredible, you know, X navy seal. Zen Buddhist teachings. He'd be like, who dash is in the books? Yes, yes. He is dash. And the funny part is he actually does save Sandra Bullock. Dash goes with them. And it's a comical situation because he's so clumsy and idiotic and every time Brad Pitt knocks someone out like he'd spin around and then he'd hit him and he's like, you have to hit him after he's already knocked out. He's like, yeah, just following up. He's like, I'm just wondering, you know, like I gotta hit it. And I thought that was so funny because it just shows that Shannon Tatum so much in his life. I mean, in this movie, his role dash. He wanted so much to be that character. He was like, I am. I can do this. I can't be like this crazy athletic military rescue one man rescue team. And I think and I think to see the difference between them, especially when Shanghai is getting off the plane and you see him, he's got like his Rolly bag, he's got his neck pillow. He's got his headphones, he's got his mouth guard. And then it pans to Brad Pitt, who has nothing he has a backpack and a coconut. And that's like, and it's like, Brad Pitt's what you'd expect, but Shannon tams what you expect from a guy out of LA who wants to be Brad. I don't know, it was so funny. Yeah, it was pretty funny. The fact that I'm going to spoil something here. So they save them and then she's like, you know, oh my God, how are you so handsome? He's like, my father was a weatherman. And. It's just so funny because you're like, what the hell is that going to do anything? But then all of a sudden, a bullet hits him in the head. Dead. Yeah, so like Tatum was like, oh, like a brains in my mouth. I can taste them. I could taste it. And it's so funny. I mean, it's sad that Brad Pitt's character died. But the aftermath is just freaking hysterical. Yeah. I gotta admit, that was like a pot. I wasn't expecting. No, because it comes after the, it comes after this very intense, very action packed sequence. We get Sandra Bullock to safety, we're calming down. They're having this very beautiful moment. And then he just shot. Boom, boom, brains everywhere. Dad, and it's startling, but it's so funny because it's like, oh, this movie's gonna be violent. Oh, this is actually an action comedy. This isn't the romance that we thought it would be. And I thought, after that point, the movie just kicked into high gear, and it was hysterical. Yeah, there's so much stuff in this movie. So the whole part of Brad Pitt, you have to watch the end credits. I'm not gonna spoil it. We're gonna leave that path to you guys to watch the end credits, because there's more to that story. There is. But so did you see some of the theories that came out about it? No. Okay, so I'll spoil it for you guys. 'cause I'm gonna talk about these theories. So Brad Pitt does arrive again at the end of the film in a post credit scene with sharing Tatum and Sandra Bullock. So the theory is because we obviously see him die. Is that in the final when the volcano finally erupts and they're trying to swim out, they actually don't swim out and they die. And then they're in heaven. Or in an afterlife, in a passing that is not on this realm. Because they see Brad Pitt at the end credit scene, and he was like, oh, I unlock 90% of my brain or whatever. And then we hear Sandra bullets gets handed a drink from one of the other characters in the movie, and she goes, oh my goodness, how did you know are you an angel? And he's like, how did you know plays it off? But his character is almost very angel like, he saves her manager. He gets them to safety constantly. He tackles Daniel Radcliffe at the end from getting away. So I thought it was a really interesting piece. I mean, I don't think it would work because then

"Take a step into depths. Dan o o lily. Rose step daughter. Here in depth. Stan we have recurring movies such as pirates all watch pirates. Yeah we of my one of my favorite franchisers elm street. Oh shit was. He was in one of them right. Johnny for halloween last year. Damn okay. which which one is. He is in the first in the original. Okay yeah. I'd light johnny depp. He does have kind of hide. Cast in a way. 'cause timber movies. But i think he has enough variation in. Here's a lot of movies. And he takes some serious roles to. He's got some spooky which go with our theme. So i want to explain that a little bit. While choosing the pitch management kind of the mind says well i had five criteria for them are normal in. That still need to be popular. People need to have a cohesive seem kind of like you know they can't be someone who's a chameleon because in how to personality have a mix of a good and a bad like you can't park every time have boarded ten choices so we can actually select start this year out on the fifth thing. I wanna watch scary movies. I wanna watch spooky. Halloween vol themed movies. Because that's my comfort. And that so much more i probably will on my next pitch as well but i want to submit johnny depp for your consideration. All right hell. Yeah the j. man j denman. I don't know what to do. Like i really do not know what to do. I've been on the fence about actor. Actor theme accuracy. Double actress team. And i think i'm combining the two you strike me down here. I'm gonna give you a little bit of leeway in almost what i wanna pitch interesting. I want to pitch in actor to you that as prolific the tv shows. They've been critically acclaimed movies. There a nerd at heart. They are one of my favorite people that is out in the famous actress. Fear and this could go one of two ways. Like i said it could be thematic or we could just focus on the one actor. I wanted to pitch the heroes of hobbiton. I wanted to frodo. Baggins and sam is g. as a dual season where we picking movies for my their elijah wood. Or i should have sean or yeah. But so that was. I was gonna say i wanted to pitch the hobbits and it could be it. Could be there duo. Frodo and sam. Their storage duo. As far as lord of the rings goes and they're both very different things but elijah wood has had a lot of movies coming out recently. That fly under the radar. That are good and bad. He actually i think has his own type of publishing house right now. Does horror my biting my lip a little bit. this sure. i absolutely love it. The elijah wood was a candidate for me now elisa what does own his own company. It's called spectra vision at him. An noah they are the main people running specter vision and they have produced a lot of indie horror movies lately and they really like the idea of like an autour filmmaker who comes into this kind of genre horror type of movie and they give them free rein essentially and say like go push the boundaries and. That's exactly what i love. I really like. I'm a fan of his personally I'm a fan of their podcast. Now they're podcast is called visitations. Go listen to the podcast. Hundred percent recommended in fact. It's a big inspiration for me. I would love to work with future. And that's not like just like. I would actually want to do that as like a writer so this toll. I'm totally on board. I really like this idea. Pit and i'm going to pivot from i thought the heroes muhammad was hilarious and i was wondering how doing it too. I do not know that. Much about sean acid. I'm going to. I'm going to swing man okay. Yeah we're good. I'm picking pitching elijah wood pitch and i think this is a good thing we've gone. We've gone from a lot of elijah's woodshed. We've we've gone from actor. Actor theme in the theme was crazy. But at the same time we've somehow picked themes that all have are all kind of up and coming. And i think elijah's seen a little bit of a bump think people are catching onto the work cities doing now. He's doing a very good job. Kudos yeah fuck. Yeah i was like when when you say here is a hobbiton. I was worried i was like. Are we doing hobbit movies now. Like what the fuck okay. Because then i was like oh fuck. Are we ready to do this. Are we ready to do all of the lower. The are we ready to award ring season. Because i don't know if i'm ready to take that kind of heat right now. I think we're still in our in our maybe pupa stage and to take on such a. I mean we'll be like frodo taking the ring. Damore doing proto taken during the mortar movies. Though i'm relieved we could. We could still do or the rinks in elijah wood season. Yeah one or two of them probably. Yeah but we cannot merit. I don't know if we could take that. Would save for one. Episode on my. He's only onscreen for like two hours and three minutes. Or something like that removes am and daniel radcliffe the same mould no not the same mall. Their magic boys and they do weird movies. They really not. They look the same woods. I'm jed pitching elijah's woodshed or great. Yeah so i guess for me. It's time for my second pitch. We'll go round so my second and final pitch is a bit of a reach. i'll full disclosure. And i think you'll soon see why back in november of two thousand eight conic franchise emerged introduced. Us to one of the most polarizing yet well known actors of our generation This actor was parodied endlessly when he came onto the scene but then he made a surprising left. Turn into critically acclaimed independent films such as good time lost city of z. And the lighthouse. I am of course talking about one time magazines. One hundred most influential people in the world winner of eleven mtv movie awards including a record breaking four best. Kiss wins the face of dior home fragrance. Robert pattinson defoe.

"There's a small frontier town on its way to disappearing a poor harvest Cholera. The Reverend is equal. Brown begins yet another funeral by telling townspeople hope that is what I am feeling on this glorious day as we are gathered here together to mourn the loss of one of our brethren. But as each new day pummels us with a seemingly endless onslaught of fresh horrors, we must not lose faith. After all. This is America. Miracle workers. Oregon Trail is the third season of an anthology comedy series on TBS. Daniel Radcliffe is the Reverend Brown Geraldine Vision of Jonathan is the modern woman stuck in the old West. Steve, you show me is the main environment and I don't get a chance to use that for is nearly enough. Who leaves their wagon train to the Oregon Trail? Steve Bushemi and Daniel Radcliffe both joined us now, Gentlemen. Thanks so much for being with us. Thank you. Thank you. So how does this work like a comedy rip same actors, different roles each season, Mr Bushemi. That's exactly it. When we first signed on, we didn't know what the other two seasons would be. We only knew that the first season took place in heaven. I was to play God. Very sort of disinterested and depressed. God and Daniel played a new angel. And then the second season we were in the dark Ages. And now the third season as you said, we are on the Oregon Trail, which I'm very happy that we have a third season. People may have gotten confused if they saw us in the dark ages and went. What happened? Why is God? Yeah. When did When did God become such a mangy environment? Uh, Daniel Radcliffe. This looks like a lot of fun to work on. It is, it is extremely fun. I think one of the great thrills of it for me is that you know, we will get because it's an anthology train. Used the roles were playing every year. Um, and start with something completely new and fresh. And this was the first job I had done since the pandemic started. So for this to be my sort of first job going back to work was really I couldn't have wished for anything more in terms of knowing everyone already and just being a joyous experience and mostly filming outside as well. Yeah, Steve Bushemi. What's it like to work with each other? Because I would, uh Would join most of I think of the outside world and thinking your two distinct and different talents. What's it like to be able to strike sparks with each other Cosmetically I love working with Dan. The first two seasons. You know, we really didn't get a lot of scenes together. And so going into the third season, the writers Daniel Mark and Robert Pad, Nick asked us if there's anything specific that we wanted to see in the third season, and both Dan and I lobbied for more scenes together, and, uh and they really came through because a lot of the time we're side by side, you know, on the wagon. And I love that. They made us you know, sort of diametrically opposed. You know, like I'm like you say the mangy. What did you call me? I I I called your role. Your character remains environment. You, of course are a gentleman. Yeah, Yeah, He's Amoral. He's selfish. He's out for himself. And you know, Dan's character really wants to help people and is maybe a little bit. Who religious and moral Yeah. My name is references. He killed Brown. Um, can I ask who you are, Jim? Nobody. Yeah,.

Hampton and i'm madison malone culture. You're listening to see. Why am i in case you missed it. Slates podcast about internet culture. How you doing today. Madison going on in your world. How you know not much. I'm very sweaty. I think that's going to be a constant for the next couple of months In the bigger world of royal baby has been born unto not us but unto twitter. The way you set that made me think. Of jesus christ being born into the world. And i don't think this child is quite reaching that level. But yeah you know another little. Sussex are they still duke and duchess. I don't understand what happened with the senior when they seceded from the royal family. Who kept what we are. Of course talking about a child of prince harry and meghan markle a new baby girl named lilibet diana lilibet being the childhood nickname of queen elizabeth and diana being. You know who i mean. This name is very much giving me tutor vibes giving me war of the roses. Giving me lancaster like lil a really. We're reaching back through time. I think it's a very sweet tribute. i also feel. As though it is a fan fiction name dreamt up from like the epilogue of harry potter some alba's severance energy named jk rowling herself. The fabulous names are better than the ones. Jk rowling came up with. Let's be real here. None of them. Because the epilogue is not real we do not recognize it and daniel radcliffe. Wrote harry potter. These are facts. I accept this new form of history. That's enough about the royals until the next season of the crown at least for me on today's show whoever we're gonna be talking about another infamous family. That's right. We hear on icy. Why am i finally going to talk about the paul brothers jake and logan despite on your show where they still on your as a note. This does mean we're also going to be discussing suicide allegations of sexual assault domestic abuse so feel free to skip this episode. If any of those topics are too sensitive for you we totally get it but as you can tell by that. Long list of sugar warnings. Paul one and paul to the brothers. Paul are they're controversial is perhaps one way to describe them. Yeah that's definitely one way. We'll probably come up with a few more before. The show's over there. They're also two of youtube biggest stars and the platform by allowing them to be two of its biggest ours have tacitly endorsed. Some of their more unsavory taste less horrifying antics which have been a constant source of conversation. Since the brothers emerged influencers seen back in like twenty fourteen. The olden days yield two thousand fourteen over the weekend. The brothers paul made headlines again specifically logan. Paul who collaborated with Another completely uncontroversial figure in his own right. None other been floyd mayweather. There's nothing going on with that man. There's no controversy. No no logan. Palm went eight rounds with floyd mayweather in a widely televised boxing match. Very widely publicized has been publicized since march. One of the biggest things that happen in boxing. And you know if you were sitting there wondering how did this vine star go from making kind of dumped six videos to stepping into the ring with the unbeaten champion. Well we're here to tell you and we're also here to tell you what it says about the nature of internet fame that none of logan paul's various and manifold misteps in the past have stopped his meteoric rise bridge. I don't know if you know this about me. But i am uniquely and darkly qualified to have this conversation. I did know this about you. And i am very glad that you were here to take me through this ride. Because to be completely one hundred percent honest with you and our icy wind my listeners. I have largely ignored the paul since immersion onto the scene i saw the antics i saw videos. I saw all the various headline. Though we're like the latest logan paul controversy explained and i was like you know what i only have room in my heart for like four controversial people and none of them are the paul brothers. So i don't know what's going on with them. That's really fair. I have spent easily five years on the paul brothers. Beat i have been known to refer to myself as an anthropologist madison. Every you test my patients. We're going to get into the who. What where when. And why of the paul brothers but i feel like to to help center i wanna i want to talk about the time. I went to jake paul pop up seventeen. He had like a pop up store in new york city. What why did you go what. They're i dare how hatton was like west thirty seventh street oh of course It was in december. It was absolutely free. Just stood outside in line all day with people namely like little kids and their parents who had come from all over the country like from the midwest and from texas like all over the country with no guarantee that they were going to see a paul brother like the only promise was the only promise was that you could purchase their merch. Can you describe the crowd for me like you said. Children like what is the demographic makeup. I've never quite understood like what their audience is actually made up of. Is it mostly teens. These were a ton of children like. Let's say an not even teens as maybe too old like possibly like preteen nine to thirteen feels like that was like the big chunk of kids who took off school to stand in line. I just feel like that helped. Establish the cult of personality that surrounds the men. Were going to get into today. I feel like you establishing how young has audiences not just on his for me has only made everything they were gonna talk about even more horrifying. Because if there's anything. I know about the pa brothers. It's that perhaps children shouldn't be watching them all right. So who are the paul brothers. That's really. I think where we have to begin. Logan jake paul. Our social media stars influencers. They came up on vine so they originally started out as viner's doing raucous pranks outlandish comedy. Put them scare quotes around comedy. Who you're going to homecoming with. Nobody do you want to go to home depot with tauzin just showing them aboard jerome stupid white weatherford as with almost all internet celebrities. Come out of nowhere. These guys are traditionally attractive. Blonde haired blue eyed maybe. I've never checked that closely. They're very muscular. They're aggressively heterosexual in. They establish themselves as vine is back in. The era of vine are fine. I mean that's interesting about kind of vine fame. Is that the people. Alice falling on vine raleigh black teens. But i was fully kind of aware of this other genre because the thing is what black kids doing on. The app was actually funny. What people like. Logan and jake paul were doing. I was just like.

"That look of like like they've had history with this person. You know what i mean. I understand that. I understand that you know so. That's how i'm looking at it more like the animal edge. I can see where you're coming from. Yeah it's more of for me history and like like you know when you look at someone's is have they seen things and is seen like you know hundreds of years of it. No i get that. I just feel like you have to cast somewhere between thirty and thirty five or not younger just so you can have the same actor. Be this character for the next eighteen. Okay if we're following that rule specifically than i would say no to jd washington. I'd say not jonathan majors. I think they're still to unless unless the marvel see something. I i don't i don't see them having the out. No i also sue johnson. I haven't seen majors in the the lovecraft country show. No i'm not even. I'm talking about fucking jonathan majors and captive state okay. I'm talking about like you know. I'm talking about jonathan majors from captive state. So that's that's rampling like my you know but but man i just think he has a little bit more of an edge then. John david washington. Yeah that's the thing it's like. I can fly. I love john. David washington i think is fucking great actor but man trying to think of him as like playing. Wolverine is another thing altogether i would. I would rather have jonathan majors. But you now i mean it's cast jake casting. The next wolverine is that those are huge shoes to fill. Dude i mean trying to fill the shoes of a hugh jackman. How is kevin fi even going to how how how are you going. There's no decision it's going to make all of phantom happy like skits going to be one of those batman cannot then. It's it's a superman casting. Yeah it's trying to cast the next. Christopher reeve in my opinion yeah. I don't disagree. I that's a great analogy. Well it's been what twenty years hugh jackman now at this point. Yeah we're looking at two thousand. When ax men came out man. Yeah it's like multiple generations knowing hugh jackman as wolverine Melissa rancor melissa. I wanna know your thoughts like if you had to. If you had to kiss the next wolverine who would you pick like and i don't want anybody to fight me but like i loved anurag cliff do all the things. Caveat i have not seen any hugh jackman wolverine movie so i don't actually know i'm comparing this casting okay. Yeah that is a huge caveat. That is a huge caveat. Absolutely also. I love. John david washington. I want him to be an all the things. I love jonathan majors. I want him to be an all the thing. Here's the thing melissa. Here's the thing. Listen i love. Daniel radcliffe too. I love daniel radcliffe. John david washington. I love jonathan majors but at the bottom the bottom line is i also love the character of wolverine and i want the best actor in there to play that character bottom line. I went the best actor in a play. Wolverine i think i think i think daniel radcliffe is going to have many opportunities to play many characters.

You're telling him all right well. You're going to be a superstar the rest of your life so within but it gave the world daniel radcliffe. So thank you harry. Who's doing whatever the hell he wants now and doing it. Well as guns akimbo. You have not seen it..

"Just take. I know old daniel radcliffe. Who of courses the great actor for harry potter. He i read an interview once where he says that everybody goes into hollywood because they love movies and everything around the movies the fame right the the money and all of these things but he got into movies because well first of all he didn't really have that concept grasping he was so young but mostly because he said he said this. He said that he actually enjoyed like he gets energy. Going into studios right and if we can kind of imagine studios. It's like this warehouse. It's cold sometimes. It involves waking up at four o'clock in the morning your hair and makeup but he actually enjoys that you know that stuff so you see kind of there's a difference between lists and legacies and you're kind of you have to approach things predominantly from the legacy standpoint like. Is this really something that i care to do. Ten twenty thirty years from now even if that thing changes even if i change right And so but those people who approach things from like. Oh these are my list of do of course those are important from from like a microscopic standpoint if you wanna finish things but when you kind of take a macro level luck thirty thousand feet above bird's eye view that's really what what matters right. Can you really enjoy small processes. And if it's not then that might not be for you you know. Pick something that you care to to do day in and day out so that you actually can get those big leaps. Yeah if you don't love the process you may not get to love the outcome right. I mean exactly if you don't learn to love going into the studio at four o'clock in the morning and freezing and having to be there till you know eleven o'clock at night working you know and not getting lunch break and having to run the same scene a million like if you don't love that part then you may not get to love the movie and the fame and the money that all comes with it right. Like you've gotta learn to love the process. And i think as entrepreneurs especially i think so. Many people go into entrepreneurship because they're sick of their corporate job right or they found out that there's not a cap on the money they can make you know. They're not having asked for a raise on their salary. They can go make extra income whenever they want because they have that freedom or they want the time freedom to spend with their kids spend with their family. Do whatever and so. Those are the reasons they go in entrepreneurship and while those are great while those are perfectly acceptable reasons to want to be an entrepreneur. I think a lot of people miss the part where you also have to love figuring out how to be productive working from home instead of watching netflix legs. You have to love you know learning all of these new tools and and Resources and all of these platforms that we use. And you don't have somebody to necessarily teach you. You've gotta go figure it out yourself and google it yourself and all those like you've gotta love that part and and this is literally why i'm in the business that i'm in. I started wedding planning out of sheer desperation and fell in love with marketing and bell in love with motivational. speaking ellen. love. With all of these things that i do now and that's how i got here and most of like really big. You know those people. We really look up to the big mentors of entrepreneurship. They'll tell you the same thing they'll tell you. I loved the hard stuff. I loved the the little details that most people get too hung up on and don't care about our reliable..

I'm sorry is scheduled for eight. Twenty twenty two release from publisher one interactive entertainment inc. and developer avalanche software. When players started the game will be able to create a character. That has a masculine feminine voice. No matter what their body looks like. It's no worthy for hogwarts legacy last summer rowling made several comments that were widely viewed as demeaning towards trans transgender people and denounced by many including harry potter film stars daniel radcliffe and emma watson. The comments also rattled some people working on the game. Bloomberg reported as a result some members of the hogwarts legacy development team have fought to make the game as inclusive as possible pushing for the character customisation and even a transgender character to be added. "Is you mentioned power. Animal and ida skype people's are the malls as yeah. This is like your guardian angel of the sacredness. That is a. Ah the temple big. You can't call your body temple not be working with your power animal because it'll show you all these things that other practices have really i mean shamed ostracized in cut off. That are so phenomenal. You know what i mean like. It's a needed lace in even new age culture right now utilizing those lower energies realizing that not all loving late writes. It is eventually but not at you. Don't nurture it and hold space for it. I that that's something to that. I think you're never done working the shadow you're never done working with the shadow and if you if you believe that in some way and if you take that into your frame of reference and how you approach things particularly on your path you're just going to. I saw meemaw earlier today. Where if somebody spiritually posturing right and it was it was it was from harry potter and one was ronald ronald weasley. When he's in the car. And he's like freaking out in one or whatever and then it had a superimposed image of daniel radcliffe with like guns and stuff going on and they quote was when you're when you're balls deep in your third dark night of the soul and you see somebody who's just doing their first and and quote was oh so. This is your first time. And i was. What is that about like. What's the spiritual posturing like. I've already done three. you're only on your first one. I'm like you're doing three right now. Because he refused to integrate the lessons of the first one attribute to it and then the other one is that multilayered effect I work with trauma a lot. Like you Trauma in the human body. Let's talk about the science of it. We actually tend to dispel the most shama physically immensely when we feel the safest. That's why people get older and repressed. Memories comes alight and they go to a psychologist right or they get older and they have like in their savings moments like. That's why we'll be like was going good in this happened. Our body right. It feels safe and we relaxed. Or it's like when you have little kids you know like when you pick up your kid from daycare and twenty minutes later. They're like screaming mass crying because they're back into that safety in the start unloading everything throughout the day that they were just like moving too fast to. Do you know like little kids on. They're like. I gotta go play and i gotta do this. And then they get mistake. They get in the safety Select crying in like what's going on. Arctic hoc new all like we release when we feel safest. And so. I see that too. I have a lot of light workers to me. I thought i worked through this. And it's like you worked through everything. You had space. Were at that time. Always come back to you. Developed a place that was safer because it was safer. You had room to expand in more that doing back and then you did it again and it is. It's that constant sometimes. Yeah we have bypass the first one in. Sometimes it's our guides going. This is no different than these other scientific things we know to be true. They're like hello. It's the same for your soul. You feel safe now. You can talk about it now. you know. i think we run into that mosul..

"Ip has helped many people through very very hard times You know I think mike he even said that. These books really helped him through through some tough stuff Josh as well so you know it's it's a tough road to navigate. I don't think that's like my answer is then. I'll be all correct answer. That's the route. I'll be taking so there are. There are other avenues yet. josh. I just wanted to make a shout out. There is a There's a blog called hammock of books. And there's a wonderful Blog post that is titled on reclaiming harry potter from jk rolling and separating the artists from the art in explaining kind of basically in a lot more detail. Obviously of what cory just said but explaining like kinda more detail to what this particular art or any art really can affect. Somebody's wellbeing mental health. How they've grown and all that kind of stuff and how you separate it's just it's I thought it was very it was a beautiful way to explain it and to also they went into daniel radcliffe and what he said as well and So yeah favorite parts. Don't let the thing that you like be taken away by someone who doesn't deserve taken away from you but now we'll move onto the rest of the show. Baby i'm gonna. I'm i'm i'm gonna go back. I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I'm gonna go back and then i'm gonna go first and say a favorite part of mind okay. Something very interesting. And i don't know if this is like i. I liked it and margaret and say this is an objectively good thing about the film. I really kind of liked that. They made this little bit more. Centralized on harry a little bit more of what he's going through and how he just wants to be normal and he doesn't want the fame and glory and all that stuff he's the boy who lived. He's gone through. All these things are last three years. He doesn't want to be this triathlete you know and There's a lot of misunderstanding from him. In more in particular that i felt in the other harry potter films have done. Because it's more like we all know about you. Harry potter's like well. Why the here. He's just like i'm a guy like i don't wanna do this. I don't want people to die. I wanted. I also have to do these things and now i'm in a place. Where like these archaic systems that have to be put in place like i might die and so i kind of enjoyed that small that kind of journey in that sense. But i'll let someone else go next minor. Part for me is kind of any time. Mad eye moody. Whether it's the real one or barty crouch on screen. I think Gleason did a phenomenal job at bringing that character to life. It's exactly how. I pictured him when i read the book If you look at the little. I think if you look at the and that's in the book it's like three close. It's him the sad part because it was just like man is so cool. I like him. He's like rough around the edges battles like on but he's he's evil boy. That is still him. You know what i mean. that's still. He's still impersonating him to brennan dyson. I think He's he's one of my favorite actors. He's i think he's kinda slept on. He's he's in a lot of things but in bruges baby so good But fucking object. That i yeah anytime. He's on on screen. And like so..
