"It is absolutely mouth watering. It has a perfect kick of a little bit of sweet, a little bit of hot, and it's not too hot to the point where your mouth is on fire or anything like that. It's kind of similar to like a Frank's red hot or a buffalo sauce. The chef Dan lane, honey hot sauce is an excellent sauce for your seafood, your chicken, some of your vegetables. So for those of you guys that have a palette that enjoy a little bit of hot, but also a little Tang of that sweet. I think you guys will super appreciate chef Dan's honey hot. Ryan and I just recently grilled with it, what we did was we took some chicken through it in a little gallon bag, and then I went ahead and took some fresh chopped cilantro through that in there. Marinated it a little bit, shook it around. Did a little dance and with it popped it in the fridge for a couple hours, took it off through it on the grill or should I say Ryan tossed it on the grill. And then we went ahead, grilled up some veggies, we made a little bit of mashed potatoes on the side, our doggy decker actually had fun licking the mashed potato pan after we were done making the mashed potatoes. So it's It's almost more damning Ryan because That the moves that they made it's not a situation, you know, I think conventional wisdom says the Rockies. They're cheap. They don't spend money. That's not the case. They had the 11th highest payroll. I think it was 11th maybe 10th highest payroll. They just made really bad moves. Really moves that were just right under their nose like DJ They should have known DJ LeMay. He was a stud defender. He's even better hitter. And you sign a guy that's coming off an injury and Daniel Murphy, this is just stuff that I don't know if it's the Harvard Analytics they got in the way you know, there's there's paralysis by over analysis. That could be the case here. They were on a trajectory that looked like they might actually become something that could be sustained. But the moves that were made no one sitting back there saying, I'm not going through another three or four years of this, and I can't blame them. We'll clean. It gives that my guess You mentioned a sustainable winning. You've written about that idea, But as I recall, your latest work on that was more about You know, 5280 ft in gigantic gaps and left field left center and right center and but you've written about the prospect of actually having sustainable winning baseball. In Colorado. Let me ask you. Do you think that There's a recipe here if Jeff Bright itches fired if Dick Mumford sells the team, I mean, I guess that's the first thing that has to happen, right? But I do you see that there is a path here for sustainable baseball, with or without this brain trust. With this Brain trust as it stands now, No No, they they should they should all be gone. Should be new ownership. And ideally, it's someone who writes that checks. Numbers and Kabo and stays out of the way. That's the owner of the Colorado Rockies Need And the GM needs to be feel. Epstein Needs to be somebody like that. That is one in a place that hasn't won in a long time. No. Urban Meyer did that in several spots. It can be done. I don't think you can sustain winning. With this ball park. It's not an elevation thing for me. It's this ballpark. That pitching rules the game. We've seen it with the Cardinals for years senior with the Yankees for years, the Dodgers, of course. I mean, that's an All Star team in L A. You gotta have pitching. You can't pitch in that park. So this is not You know? This is not absolving all the culprits of 25 years, of course field. They've made some really silly decisions over there. With that park. So even though I am right there with Rockies fans like the only way we can affect change. Is by denying Dick Monfort our money. Um, how? How viable do you think that actually is? How feasible? Is there a point here where we can force a sale of the Colorado Rockies? How does this happen? That here's right come down on that because it's really a tough conversation, the people that You interact with the cores. It's a lot of times it's Stanley's. And it's It's kids and moms and dads and I'm not trying to take baseball away from eight year old You know that? That's the last thing I want to do that. That's that. That is the happiest place. It's the second best ballpark. Behind San Francisco in all of baseball. It really is. It's Is the capital of Denver. And In some ways, that's the capital of the boom that we've seen in Colorado because that's when it really started. So Also if you take out all the rocky stands Dodger standards still gone. Cardinal standards still going the Cubs? Sanders still gonna be there. Are they really going to steal that in their pocketbook? As much as we think to the point that it's going to force him to sell I have my doubts. Maybe it does, you know? I'm not a great mathematician. Maybe that's enough. That it you know, hurts him that they have to go back to Greeley. I'm not sure. But I don't want to take baseball away from people. I do think a smart thing to do would be to check out the Rocky Mountain vibes. That's a really great place to go to watch a ball game. And hopefully people are able to go to ball games and I'd suggest going to catch provides this summer. Why I like that idea, And you make such a great point. Had about five minutes. On the other one. I said this Good people of Colorado. Don't want to read this. Of they've read me Rip the Rockies for two straight days. Now I'm gonna go find something that's cheery. So I switched over. The Nolan are on auto and That's the happiest dude. That's not a Disney world. He is thrilled if he thrilled to be a Saint Louis Cardinal, or is he thrilled to not be a Colorado Rocky? That's up for debate. But when he said, I tried not to jump the gun on this trade to not get too excited. Boy. That is a man who wanted out and he wanted out yesterday. So he got his wish. The sad part to me. That this was so avoidable Ryan. I We watched that you want to just as much as I did maybe more DJ Let Mayhew best second basement baseball. Trevor story. Best shortstop in baseball, arguably No, nor in auto. There's no argument there. He's the best third baseman in baseball. Two of those three are gone now. And, uh, you know, I got a lot of knucklehead friends, but they're also enormous Rocky fans. And they're just beside themselves right now, and you know, one of them brought that up. They said, Look at that infield that we had. And now two or three are gone. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Trevor Story falls and out the door before April 1st. I mean, but how do I like you say this is this was avoidable and it's so absolutely was avoidable, but I still find myself on the air. Or in in a quiet moment, just like how did we really get here? Like it's I never Guess to Shawn wants in. I mean, I guess to Shawn Watson is ah, Comp, but it just feels like two years ago is 100 years ago in two years ago, these Everybody was lovey dovey and happy to be a part of each other's lives. "Of two decades. Were sold out every game. You telling me that Rockies tickets are so cheap? That they can afford to spend above what their market sizes. There's no limit how much you could spend. But here's the thing. We make it about spend spend spend for the and and I get it, and it's relevant and everything. The bottom line here is this It wouldn't matter. If Dick Monfort and Jeff brightest were operating in a salary cap sport. That's the thing here. You go back and forth. Did the Rockies do it because of finances? Did they not do it? Because of finances? Can they spend can they not spend? Who can they for? If it was a level playing field. There was a salary cap in Major League baseball, the Rockies would still be perennially terrible. Because they are incompetent. They do not have the people at the top of the organization that can make the right decisions. I thought many of Jeff radishes moves made sense. Daniel Murphy. I thought was going tol break at Coors Field. He didn't Thought that Jake McGee because he told us that he loves pitching at altitude. I thought he'd be able to he couldn't Way Davis was really good for one year. All right, So it's not like I have been ahead of all of these deals and saying This is a terrible deal. This is a terrible deal. But they turned out bad. And that happens. It happens less to other teams in the Rockies, but it happens. What is a good GM do? Fix the mistake. Make a trade sign of free Agent Bring someone up. That's the way this business works. It's not that all we made five decisions. They're all bad. So now we're not going to make any decisions for the next three years. Doesn't work that way. You have to fix your mistake. Give this level of credit to John Elway. Is tried for years to fix the same mistakes over and over and over again. He keeps going back to the well when it comes to quarterbacks. You thought he was gonna have brought Kaswell? He did it. So then they went to see me and that didn't work. So then he when drafted Paxton Lynch, and there are I guess he drafted Paxton Lynch first and that didn't work out. And there was Trevor Simeon, and that didn't work out of the gate. Skin him and Joe Flacco Andrew Luck. He keeps trying. Right. The result is the same. But he's trying And the Rockies for the last two years have said Mum. We made a bunch of mistakes, but we're not going to correct them. They need to correct themselves. Doesn't work like that. So that's the problem here. Yes, Money is at the heart of this. Because the Rockies, I believe had no intention of paying Nolan or in Otto's entire salary. Over 10 years. That's why they put the op downing. They did What you wanted and wanted them to do is fans. Sinaloa, Nonato. Put the opt out in So it could get and then it would get to this point where they would trade him. He didn't count on. Nolan are not getting as angry as he did. And be public with his anger. They didn't bet on a pandemic happening. But this was always the plan. You have no one are not. Oh, not be Iraqi. After that opt out, either they traded him before Or you would walk away on the opt out. They had no intention of keeping Nolan on Otto for the duration of his contract. And that very much has to do with money. But even in the alternate reality, where Major League baseball was a salary cap sport, the Rockies would not be able to compete because they do not have Leadership necessary.
