Michael O'Brien Bom sport driver on. Gt Four hello. Hi everyone yet. Thanks for the welcome. I'm greats behaviors. Well looking forward to chatting with your getting stuck into the podcast kicking off. Then I've been doing a little bit of a we scour around on the which I can entirely block because everybody news. I'm the relative newbie and don't have the knowledge that everyone else does but it means I can say for my kind of looking around see that race in does run in your family was always something that's on your radar you wanted to do was any salt you anything different. Yes Oh like you say it has to give everyone a bit of background like you say so. My Diet basically started out embracing from from a young age. His parents were by schoolteachers but it was something that he always wanted to do. So so out to try and gain sponsorship and by his own race. 'cause guy racing that way which he did all the way up until the late eighties. When he raced in British touring 'cause that was the last sort of big thing the big series he did when he drove hold and enbridge storing us and aided that something that a lot of people don't actually know. Is That my a Godfather David couvert say race for McLaren like I do now in full bloom and obviously one thirteen Grand Prix? So I've always been around it. Annoys had people in my life that have been racing a high level but it wasn't really until two thousand seventeen. Which is my first full season of racing. It wasn't really until a couple of years before that I really started to get the bug and actually want to compete myself like always been two races. Ottawa's watched it on. Tv Was played the Games growing up. But until you until a couple of years ago it wasn't really something I wanted to do and like switch one day. I just woke up and to my dad. You know what actually really likes give this ago now so That's how it went really eats you move and you decision to move into racing. We'll something just clicked one day. What was the plunder Fulda? Had you got anything in particular that you are thinking about doing will basically if you haven't gone down the racing route. Yeah I think that's that's a really good question and Something that is is quite difficult to answer because I really. I can't really remember back so what I would have liked to have done at the time when I was in my teenage years. I enjoyed my mountain bike racing and did that quite successfully us or knew from the outset the although I enjoy it and I had some success at more of a club level informed on me quite quickly the. I wasn't ever going to be good enough to do it as a job or full time so so with that I moved into I had a couple of normal jobs. doing various things and then moved in to do some work with a family business which is based around sport. Is you go back to what you love. And what you've always known and although I wasn't driving still really love the sport so I went in to do that and enjoyed that a lot to be honest so even if I hadn't done racing I would have quite liked the progression in the business and two of may be taken my over one day and that such. I think actually that that change into going into the racing world time if you like every day so being around race 'cause or race provex Is probably what flipped that switch. Luckily for me so doing that job yet where we actually took me to where I am today in the sense they. It lit the fire. Yeah I mean looking at if you will history in terms of kind of what you did prior to being taken onto the driver development program with McLaren moving into British city after you did start a little bit differently to to some can see some classic car racing on the and you'll see participated in the Samuel Challenge which sounds fun. I can't see the being to many transferable skills from not necessarily but how did you find the classic car racing as preparation for what was to come after? I think the the classic car racing with the historic actually really good like okay. The 'cause relevant to what embracing now but the racing itself was just as competitive. Okay that probably wasn't honestly the strength in depth like there is in breach. Gt with how many people can potentially win a race but at the front you still had a number of drivers like Cameron. Jackson would always give you a good run for the money and the 'cause the racing was so close to cause seen the way they're designed was lots of slipstreaming cross ply ties. Didn't have much grip. So once you're in front you could never really get away. And that was great. Practice to learn race craft to lend slipstreaming to learn overtaking. So really that other. The car was very different to. I'm driving now. The actual core skills the island in the historic Israeli transferred over to British. Gt and same for the pickup truck. Thing really like of see. That was a really good year for me in that series. I very new to racing didn't really know much about the other drivers around me So naive leap of racing. James Gould for for that success during that series. He's now gone into touring 'cause it was a similar thing to the film afford. The racing was really good. Even though they were quite slow the pickups they were still quite challenging to drive so I sent me of core skills from by ties championships. Even though the relevance of the car doesn't really carry over. We've retouched briefly on the fact that you did move into the McLaren driver development program unusual in the fist. Take into June. Tell me a little bit more as to how it came about what the program enfold fully and how you found out as an experience yeah absolutely so obviously firstly at the drive development program that they run at McLaren just absolutely life changing for me from gaining a place through the selection process to having the success. We had with my teammate Charlie Fag in the first season together during two thousand seventeen going back year in my first year racing of enjoying quite a bit of success that year which surprised me surprise my dad as well and then obviously we were already thinking about what the next step might be whether it would come from of see with him knowing the challenges of of modern modes sports well and when when I got the chance to have a try in the McLaren. Try The car test my pace and go through the selection process of so of wanted to take with both hands which of say I did to looks at. I did and that was a process of driving the car. That was a new tire run. That was a race run. That was evaluating a fitness levels. It was a meteor interviews. So that was. It was quite daunting process at the time because I hadn't really had that much experience and you have presented with this amazing brandon manufacturer. So we'll give you an opportunity to get into professional racing so yeah I just tried my best stuck to my guns and and just wanted to be myself and of say it works out. Say That then moved onto your first season in British T. with toleman which even as a Newbie. Rc was a massive success with the top three finish a role in GT fall which is see outstanding. What were the highlights of the season fully and also what were the biggest lessons? She learned from that so that that first year really was incredible really so unlike the year before we we surprised ourselves. I think so Me Coming into that year's while with Louis Charlie and Jordan on the team. I think I was the person that hadn't raced. Gt Car before the start of that season but the professionalism of not the professionalism of teammate. Charlie and I had to drive coaches well Charlie Holdings everything just clicked and I think it was the sole perfect recipe for success on in terms of highlights. I mean there's so many good moments that year. I mean from offense race and Park where I qualified the car on the front row. And we finished second round to at Rockingham where we go. I spoke position Man I on average we are on Poe by by the two seconds on the average times and then spa was the highlights of me. I was on pole in my class. And let every single after the race. My fest race SPA and then coming those see so clear to the championship to of winning the championship as well. So so many highlights from that first year and I let huge amount along the way as well what you say. The biggest lesson was fully. I think really just for doing things that hadn't done before so being sound so basic but being told about the pit stops and doing things like that driving changes they all. These things were new to me so outside of learning how professional the team was in how professional McLaren basic things like pitstops driver changes doing an hour stint in a race That sort of numerous things I learned but really the basics of GT racing was disorder foundation away from that first year of see you work on you improve all the time but they were the new things for me off..

"Jane's isn't things come out. This race was fourth place. We had for K. And Johnny Adam in the number seventy five motorsport however they did receive a penalty which then dropped down to ninth place but they did successfully appeal this which then backup. I mean really the main thing in this race the needs discussing is is this fairly long safety car. We had the the interfere with the pit win and not like safety causing pit windows because it makes for a very very congested especially as Nester when I isn't the largest it's is one of the smallest pit lanes visit each year. So you guys can tell us a little bit about how these incidents are handled in a safe way for you guys for the drivers for for everybody but also trying to get back to racing quickly as possible but normally you'd you'd hoped to have an incident team somewhere but wed that and was policy inside the cone of. There's no instant team anywhere near. So you have to wait for the recovery truck to be authorized and unstop moving to it and even then you need a safety car because if you if you have a cost spinning off from the dog like Oh and future we've all seen what happens when cars collide with recovery equipment in the last few years in very well for the driver phenomen so we we. We tryin generally get the rice neutralized before gain big heavy machinery at where the car stops really affected this situation. This guy said it was it was on the circuit and as he was pretty much on the rice in law. So there's no way we recall out. Subtract the car and then dench position. The less race was neutralize in this situation. It was best for us out of the race under safety car. We did take up time. But for everybody's safety is the best way of doing it if grab it come onto the grass and Paul bottom also posted. Lisa's because pretty covered on the yellow and wouldn't have to worry about that that affects the situation. Sometimes is where the car ends up. So once you got the race controlled and in this situation. What what steps do you? You then have to take to to clear the call once once. You've got all the acid there you're ready to actually carry out the recovery. What what's involved in? That depend more as you. The situation in the car is It's a cause of able to move. Kwesi just be dragged on the flatbed or pushed out. I if the calls missing all perhaps as think situation in the commune stocking gave the Authored incident then has to be lifted and move out the way he is now who is now set. Why of finding an instant? You run through scenarios during during training sessions. You'll you'll you`ll. You'll always come across an incident. Which is the individual side. I mean you get you go wheel when she and be sticking it. Now he's got to and it's up against the barrier and we struggle to get guy lifting hoist on it and and you can't drag it out of the way either so fair Jamie in the county even more of course. He's gonna talk about the southern border, the national emergency and more on to get your reaction to what I'm watching. The slow motion train wreck in what's yours a meltdown in the department of Justice in the FBI or the highest reaches of those two. August bodies have worked hard now for two years to have a bloodless coup in which the FBI wiretapping the president himself during his presidency is the allegation of Andrew McCabe a wanted to do that rod Rosenstein wanted to do that. And during the campaign the transition and the first few weeks the department of Justice operating under mainly Barack Hussein Obama began an effort to eavesdrop wiretap surveillance snoop on the Trump campaign. And that entire issue is utterly ignored by the mainstream media is if it doesn't exist. Wanna get your calls number to call tonight is eight six six six four seven seven three three seven eight six six six four seven seven three three seven. "American Red Chevy with me to not I tell you what if you had time if you can watch it online, a horrible interview that Scott Pelley of CBS conducted on sixty minutes with Andrew McCabe. Please do it. I watched about what four or five hours about the most disgusting thing that I could have seen in which Andrew MacKay who worked himself up in the FBI to become not just the deputy director of the FBI. But acting director of the FBI actually said that a crime may have been committed on Donald J Trump fire James Comey that this was Comey was the guy responsible for Andrew McCabe career without Komi, McCabe would not exist. And so I'm watching this thinking when this happened in may of two thousand seventeen when Comey was fired rightfully and righteously fired the leaker the liar. James Comey was fired practically every democrat wanted him fire because he was. One who held a news conference about ten days before the election saying that they had found some more of the special access programs on Abba, Cubans computer who worked for Hillary Clinton, and that there may be more criminal violations. They have to investigate. So every Democrat Nancy Pelosi Chuck Schumer Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton Sheila jackson-lee, just picked the democrat won after James Komi with hoax and clause. In fact, after the election, the Democrats blamed James Comey for the defeat of Hillary Clinton, everyone knew Hillary Clinton had in fact, won the election. The first thing she was going to do was fired James Comey because the guy is a hack a horrible job terrible liar and a Laker James Comey. So the Democrats wanted him fire practically every Republican one and fired because the way he conducted himself before and after the Trump inaugural. The Republicans wanted him party was a hack reminded people Jaeger who. Over. But also most importantly, rod Rosenstein, deputy director department, a deputy attorney general deputy d number two in command of the department of Justice, and after Jeff Sessions who's the worst attorney general in the history of this country recused himself from the Russian investigation. It was rod Rosenstein in charge of all the things happening in the department of Justice and rod Rosenstein sent a memo to the president Donald J Trump saying Komi must be fired. He took on the role of a prosecutor and not just as a cop. So you had all the Democrats wanted Komi fired all the Republicans wanted call fired. And who else wanted him fired rod Rosenstein, his boss, and so when Trump did what everybody wanted him to do. In fact, Trump has said on air with me many months ago that he thought when he did it. It would be complemented by the editorial writers by the New York Times by the Washington Post. By the Democrats who wanted him fired by the Republicans who wanted him fired following the dictates a rod Rosenstein, the department of Justice who wanted him fired, and he laid out a long memo, white Komi should be fired. All Trump did is what the Democrats wanted to occur. What the Republicans want to do a tour occur and what the department of Justice wanted to happen. So McCabe said tonight the crime had been committed when Trump fired Komi when he had the right to do it. In fact, the responsibility to do it and serandon McCabe tonight. Once again, lied on sixty minutes. This guy's a well-known liar. The inspector general of the department of Justice has given us three occasions when deputy director of the FBI, and it spent time as acting director of the FBI lied to the inspector general of the of the FBI three times and each penalty Bali way carries up to three years in prison. He lied repeatedly to the FBI itself under oath. Which is something needles eight you can't do. So how's it possible that sixty minutes did not bring up in this report? That's the reason you were fired is because Andrew is because Komi was kinda directed to be fired by rod Rosenstein and bring up all the occasions on the Democrats gave statement after statement after statement demanding that fired all Trump that is what everybody wanted to be done. But that wasn't a course brought up whatsoever. Mccabe also said the Rosenstein in the days after commes firing at proposed wearing a wire to secretly record the president. I think about this. And the first few weeks and months of the Trump administration. Basically, the Trumpster did little or nothing. He he was trying to get his administration together, but the FBI and the department of Justice. Determined early on. They want to conduct a bloodless coup and take out the duly elected president. So according to McCabe, he had rod Rosenstein suggests that rod where a wire is secretly record the president. They have the president more or less committing a crime. Which rod Rosenstein had several times said it did not happen. Issued a statement. In fact, I think one of was issued yesterday or today Sunday night from route the department of Justice. He said that did not happen that is false. So you have a well known liar. Who three times the inspector general of the department of Justice said lied to the FBI who's under criminal investigation by the US attorney's office in Washington, making statements about Komi firing Komi was a criminal act is what he said tonight on sixty minutes, which is completely false. It cannot be a criminal act because number one Trump had the ability and the power to fire Komi number two has a responsibility to fire Comey number three. The Democrats wanted him fired. The Republicans wanted him fired and department of Justice wanted him fired. And then according to McCabe, rod Rosenstein, working for the president had the suggestion on his own part. There were a wire to trap the president. And to saying something that the FBI through the department of Justice couldn't dight the president with the department of Justice has guidelines at say, a sitting president cannot be indicted. This was absurd. This was ridiculous. Listening listening tonight. I'm thinking I'm watching a bloodless coup by the deep state trying to take out our president maybe wiretapping him which they did during the transition during the campaign during the first few days of the Trump presidency. Only one thing is for certain. The Democrats concluded with the Russians during the election defined dirt on Donald J Trump through the Trump dossier. Christopher Steele, you urinating on the bed in Washington. I'm sorry in Moscow, which everyone says is false Qomi said we couldn't substantiate the allegations and the dossier. But then he turns around and uses it through the department of Justice in rod Rosenstein to get a search warrant to eavesdrop and wiretap parts of the Trump campaign. So you had officials in the Obama administration conducting illegal activities through a federal court to wire tap illegally. The Trump campaign the Trump transition and the Trump presidency done by the Obama officials now listen to this the only proven collusion with the Russians is by Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee who by the way in the four years. Hillary was the secretary state the Russians. Paid in the range of one hundred and forty five million dollars either Bill Clinton or the Clinton foundation, and what's family members and friends of the Clintons were hired to keep them stashed in those areas. So we know the Russians paid the Clinton foundation one hundred forty five million dollars, and we're paying Bill Clinton a half million dollars to make bullcrap speeches. So we know that was going on. But none of that is a crime. None of that's been investigated adequately. By the F pay. No one's been charged with any of that. We're onto the Russian collusion delusion show. I didn't Scott Pelley say on sixty minutes tonight. You know what mister McCain? There's been two years now investigation stroke page, and others have said there's no there there after two years not one American has been charged with any collusion with the Russians. No one no American. No, one United States Senate said about a week ago, we have found no collusion between the Russians and the Trump campaign. And lastly, Robert Mueller himself in all the criminal charges against the six officials tied to the campaign or the Trump presidency from Flynn to popadopoulos the gates Manafort and all the rest. There has been no allegation in any charge of all the counts involving collusion with the Russians which he would've charged them. If he had it. It's kind of like the dog that doesn't bark. The fact that Muller has not charged after two years any American much less. Someone connected at the Trump campaign. With collusion with the Russians indicate that is not fair. And so Scott Pelley, say Daniel McKay, by the way, Mr. MacKay, you're aware and here we are two years later, and there's been no allegation proven of any collusion with the Russians and that was the basis of him going after the president. It was the Komi firing which the president had a right to do the president of duty to do the Democrats wanted to done the Republicans wanted to come at done and the department of Justice through rod Rosenstein, wanted Colmey fired. So how's it possible that McCabe could say tonight that the crime made been committed when Trump fired combing in may of twenty seventeen how's that possibly a crime? It can't be it wasn't. So let's continue with more coming up later. We have Steve gorham on the new ring deal. And also, my good friend in yours. Wayne Allyn root for about a month.
