"Me to it. Was that you Daniel? I had it, I had it all for queued up. Exactly. I loved it. What did you think? I'm wearing the hat right now. What's your evaluation of it? Seriously, your actual evaluation of the lid. Two things. Two things, number one, you pull it off, it looks good. Thank you. And number two, I'm just slightly concerned that the first wrong prediction you make during the season that your face is going to melt off. No, I close my eyes when I guess, you know? I close my eyes. All right, I love that. I thought to myself, it sounds like it's coming through the phone. Okay, my very rakish. So the evaluation is a keeper. That's your evaluation of it? Absolutely. I just feel like if Tom Landry were still alive, that would be his hat of choice. And a little more current. But yet, you know, it provides a sophisticated, elegant look. You know? I like it. Can the mango smoothie to go along with it? Thank you so much, Daniel, really appreciate it. Thanks for the time. We'll chat against shortly. See you soon. I appreciate it rich go get your wood tip cigarette and have a great day. Thank you very much. Daniel Jeremiah moved the sticks here on the rich eisen show. Oh boy, fun stuff right there. A fascinating Bill Belichick press conference. We're going to hit on that and more when we come back on the rich eisen show. Don't go anywhere, breaking news out of Cincinnati as well. Doctor Jones. Back here on the rich eisen show 8 four four two O four rich number to Donald. During the conversation with Daniel Jeremiah, it was reported by our friend Ian rapport, our colleague. He was the first I saw on Twitter. Joe burrow is going to have surgery to remove his appendix. He'll miss some practice time, but better now than later, says he in. So Joe burrow will be without his appendix, very shortly. And we hope he is back at it soon. One of the 6 quarterbacks voted by observers, coaches, general managers in the athletic story written by Mike sander aggregated by Mike sando. Top one tier one quarterback. You know what I find amazing? Joey burrow. People get so quick, hurt. And their feelings about these tears. These are just people's opinions about randomness. This tears a real thing or something. It's not just any people. What is it? The third of the head coach is a league or a quarter of the head coach. People who know things.

"Oh, that's great. It exists. I've been watching too much baseball. I've missed that one. Yeah. No, look, the thing about the dolphins, I love what they did from the coaching standpoint. I love the speed with waddle and tyreek hill and run after catch and two is very accurate underneath. I think that works. I think people, I think, okay, how about the big arm to be able to get the ball to the top? I don't think that's what this offense is really going to be. So I like all that stuff. The thing that I don't like and I'm very up in the air on. Let's hold off. Let's see how this offensive line comes together. They were atrocious. And I know they brought in Armstead and that's an obvious upgrade. There's a lot of other question marks in that group. So I'm curious to see how that all comes together. And kasiki is a phenomenal athlete. I probably one of the best, most athletic tight ends. We have in the league. But not really an in line guy. So how's he going to fit in into this offense and into the system? So there's still some question marks there for me. I'm not ready to go completely all in, but there are definitely going to be fun to watch and treat you to see what this offense looks like. So Daniel Jeremiah here on the rich eisen show, let's spend our remaining time with you checking my work, many folks out there may not know and I'll admit this. Chris, I don't even know if you guys know this, but whenever I come up with my top 5 lists every now and then I'll float it by Daniel. We'll see if I'm my work is checked. I make sure that I get a red pencil from Daniel Jeremiah first. That's how much I respect and adore you, DJ. I run these things by you first. I don't think I did this though. So I came up with a list of my top 5 items that I've talked myself into believing prior to the NFL season on this program. Okay. Okay, and you tell me if I'm right. Do you have the Mike Hoskins? You have them ready for me. Here, okay, put up the first one if you don't mind. Number 5 is Baker Mayfield has played his last down for the browns. He is not going to play another down for them regardless of what happens with deshaun Watson. What do you think? Well, can we go through all of them? So if you as broccoli knows, he's a big baseball card guy. If you send in a card to get graded, and it's like PSA ten or PSA 9, like what kind of shape is it? So I'm writing down your stuff here and then I'm going to give you the DJ graded. Okay. That's number 5. Okay, very good. I appreciate you doing that. Years number four, number four in the list. There is zero pressure on Aaron Rodgers this season. Keep on hearing over and over and over again that he's got pressure on him. He's one of the quarterbacks with the most pressure on him. I'm like zero pressure on Aaron Rodgers this season. The guy is back to back MVPs. I know there's no devonte Adams, but I think his place in his mind is secure, of course he'd like another ring, but he's cool. And that's my opinion on that. Number three on the list. The cowboys have absolutely taken a step back this year. I do not believe that they are improved. They might not even win their division. I think the cowboys have absolutely taken a step back this year. Number two on the list, I'm really going down. The forty-niners are Trey Lance's team now, okay? Like the whole business that Jimmy G still there is because he's hurt, not any insurance that Lance may not be ready. The niners are ready to finally live and die with every snap with this kid and get him ready. That's number two. And the number one is the Raiders are going to win the AFC west. I like Devante there. I think Josh McDaniels, being there with this new offense, we just talked to Waller yesterday who says that if Adams is double covered, there's him and then there's Renfro in the middle of the field spinning around making people look foolish. He said, and I like Chandler Jones being at a Daniel Jeremiah, I've now given you on 5. What do you think? Okay. We're going to start with the first one. Baker done in Cleveland. I had initially a DJ graded ten, which is a perfect condition, but I dropped it down to a 9 just for the sake if an announcement were to come in the next couple of days that it was a full year, maybe that causes them to reconnect for the better of both parties and they could just kind of give him this year and he would be okay with that. I don't see any scenario if Desean is just suspended 6, 8, ten, 12. If he's going to be there and play a football game this year, I don't see any chance that Baker Mayfield is going to want to be a part of that. So the only way I would say it's possible is if it's a full year suspension or a full year plus and baker says, okay, I'll suck it up and come in here and do this. So I gave that a 9. No pressure on Rogers. I'm going to give I'm going to grade that as an 8. I agree with you from the standpoint of you take the receiver out. He's about as chill as it gets when you see him in the gulf event the other day. He is a very relaxed dude. He does not have the appearance of somebody that's under pressure. But I think once they find their way into the tournament and then the talk starts again about the super bowls he hasn't won, I think he could get to me a tiny bit of pressure. So I'm with you up to the level of 8. Also a level of 8 on the cowboys taking a step back. I would say I don't know that they're better, I don't know that they're going to be a ton worse. So I think they're kind of a neutral, but I'm going to give you an 8 on that one. I think some of those young pieces when you look at Parsons is only scratching the surface, which is scary. They're going to take the football away. So I'm going to say 8 on that one. The ten is this is Trey Lance's team. I am going to give you a ten on that one. A little baby. 100% it's his team. Right? It's go time for him. Yeah. I don't know, by the way, I didn't know it's so weird to me that so many people that have not been to a forty-niners practice on the outside have lobbed criticism. They're assuming because we haven't heard this yet or the other that he's not ready and that he's not any good. Right. Never has so much been made without any eye contact of what's going on in San Francisco a 1 million %. Yes, I'm with you. No, you don't digress. You are actually spot on giving me ten out of ten on that. Okay. So what about number one, mister charger? I understand that. I mean, I know I'm talking to you. I mean, I'll be honest with you, rich. Yes. In my inbox this morning was my updated two year contract with the charges. I can not go over at 7 until the ink is dry. So that's entirely. Full disclosure. I love it. I love it. So the cowboys you think that they're come on, man. Gallup is hurt. Cedric Wilson was terrific for them last year. He's gone. Right? I mean, the offensive line did they improve it? Did they actually improve that thing for them? Tyler smith's Tyler Smith is a good player. You're going to play guard. I think there will be an adjustment period there. I think if you got the old guys, how is their health?.

"So the poise that he has, I think, will serve him well there. I personally, I know they've got Heineken I know that they're committed to Carson, but via injury or poor performance. I just get a feeling, we're going to see him this year. I really do, I think we'll see him get an opportunity at some point in time. Daniel Jeremiah at moved the sticks his podcast along with Bucky Brooks must listen to. It's called move the sticks right here on the rich eisen show. So I guess we know why Steve keim decided a one in a three for Hollywood Brown was a good move, huh? We found that out. Yeah, I want you to sell that suspension come down with de hop that makes even more sense. But I think he fits in well there. I mean, there's a reason why he wanted out of Baltimore. It didn't love the system as what he said. And man, he's going to love this system. He's already played in it, basically. So he played it in college. He's got his college quarterback, and now I think the ball is going to come to him early and often. So I know some people were comparing that to the AJ Brown trade and saying, wow, they gave up way too much for Hollywood Brown, but you've got to know kind of what you run and who you are and how guys fit. I think he's going to be an outstanding fit in Arizona. So how does that work? You know, obviously you spent many a year in the NFL in front offices and scouting department. I mean, he pops in November and so Steve keim and the rest of the cardinals knew pretty much over Thanksgiving throughout that December swoon without him. And the loss in the playoffs that this was coming and thus they needed to address that at some point and certainly in the draft that was a priority. Is that how that works? Yeah. Yeah, usually they know way ahead of time on this stuff. And so it gives you opportunities to plan going forward. So that was not I don't think this is some last minute last minute deal. You'd be rarely is. So you get that information and you got opportunities to try and explore all the different options that exist out there and I don't know that I could have found a better option for them in terms of just the fit with the scheme and run after catch and the familiarity with your quarterback. So that's why that one made a lot more sense when all that news came out. Right, now also makes you quarterback happy, although he's not going anywhere. I mean, Steve conn, we had him on yesterday before all this happened. And he brought the hammer down on anything. And he did that obviously pre draft in his press conference as well. No intention trading this guy. No chance of training this guy is what he said. No change. Rich, as we've learned. If a head coach or a general manager comes on the rich.

"All in all to be completely fair and honest, despite the way I feel about everything with the vaccine and mandates and things like that, positively ridiculous. That Kyrie was at the nets versus Knicks game in Madison Square Garden. Physically there in the building but couldn't play. He was getting to be positively absurd like that. And certainly with the way the medicine is on the ground. But look out for the nets now if they can get out of that play in game. You can move your head back and forth over there, mister Celtic, but I wouldn't want to face him. Yeah, I just think it's kind of a bummer that it worked out this way. He was just kind of a spoiled, Brad about this the whole time. And he eventually gets his way. And I don't think that's really fair. Well, how about this? How about this? He eventually gets his way, but let's at least COVID is at the point where you don't feel like this is particularly. I wouldn't say that this is not a medicine, the medicine and the boots on the ground and the way things appear to be right now in New York. I totally get that. But for private makes it understandable. For private citizens and workers in New York who have done the right thing, quote unquote, every step of the way, and now to just be told, hey, this guy who didn't, he's just going to get rewarded by going back to his job. That could also be the person down your hallway in the cubicle across the hallway from YouTube. And I would think that would be frustrating for people in all jobs. And that this is so public, and he's done it in such a public manner, and we've been talking about it for months and months and months. I just think that's kind of frustrating. "And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bucky brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj bucky back with you buck. What's up man. Good near the end of the preseason. We're seeing things begin to crystallize it a little bit. In terms of some of the position battles were seeing some of these teams began to take shape and take hold in terms of just final rosters together. Most importantly we begin. See some of these youngest to step up and show some of the talented really captivated us to end his pre-draft process. No doubt it's fun. I people that don't like the preseason come on just lighten up a little bit. Enjoy watching these rookies put on. Nfl uniform for the first time. That's what the preseason is all about. it's all about these young guys getting quality reps. Get a chance to see them. Develop which is going to be. Where we're going to kick off your. We're gonna hit on what we saw last night from your jacksonville jaguars against the saints with trevor lawrence. Their quarterback We're going to touch on some things. I saw from joint practice with the chargers. The niners We are going to have our super bowl draft which i'm excited about. Which is we're gonna go back and forth and we can you know everybody's gonna do this next week. We're getting ahead of the curve and we'll draft. Who are are super bowl favorites are we'll go back and forth on that so a lot of different things you want to cover but just first of all buck. You're close to this team. You call their games in the preseason your been around him a bunch since urban. Meyer took over your thoughts last night which you saw. I will say this. And i'm sure urban would back this up. I think it was a very disappointing effort from the team on a national stage I'm fairly confident that the team's pointed to this game as a kinda introduction to the football world national tv. You plan team that has perennially a contender. One the best teams in football and so you notice. Dj because we've been a different spots where we've been. The favorite teams were using game against us to be the measuring stick or you an aspiring contender. And them to get the c. Engage where you are. And i think the jaguars one of us game kind of as a litmus test to see where they are and they came up short. They came up in a couple different areas. One up front load walker. Low has been great in camp. He struggled mightily against the avenue board as did a couple of other guys. I think learning the difference. When you're a collegiate player speed is one thing but in the pros speak. Can i a power. Meaning they set you up up the field. But then they take you right down the middle and they. They used that speed to explode into. We saw him struggle with that but he's not alone upfront. They just add a tough time. And what that does is it puts so much pressure on trevor lawrence. That you can't really see him. Do we know that he is capable of doing. He has flash plays and some moments but he never could get settled and find the rhythm and then..

Yeah yeah we to a preseason. This is kind of exciting. Because i'm curious to see how teams are going to play their players. Either gonna play the players a ton in this game or the wait the week three to do it. But i know for certain that we're going to see more of the frontline players playing more snaps and data give us a better sense of. Who's who in westwood when it comes to the evaluation. I'm curious on that front to just because it's been a lot of joint practices this week. So if you feel like you've got a good look at some of your vets during these two days of joint practice with another team. Maybe we don't see much of them in this in this week to game for those teams that have been in the middle of that. I'm gonna head up and watch. The chargers niners practice tomorrow. I know what we had cowboys. Raiders go on. I know the jets and the packers were going with each other the bucks and the titans. Gosh there's been who who is carolina's go on with Who are they with their with baltimore. Baltimore and carolina been going together so lots of joint practices. Which i think are if you can get a chance if you're a fan out there and you have a chance to get out to watch a joint practice. Get out there and do it. We got real games while semi real games. Preseason no they all they all mad accounting standards. But they all matter because i think there's so much gleaned from the little glimpses that we see the first teamers were really the young guys that are playing. I think you can get a feel for who is going to be ready to kinda hit the ground running when the regular season starts. Here's what we're gonna do on today's podcast. We're going to go through some of these. Rookies these five rookie. Quarterback's how they played what we saw. Buck was there for for. Trevor lawrence will kick it off. Trevor lawrence you were there live in prison great job on the call by the way guy chance to see a lot of that on television nicely done buck doing his thing How was it ma'am one. It was it was so great. Like being there because dj. We always talk about the importance of seen rookie. Quarterback's or quarterbacks in general lot. It was great watching them now. "And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bookie brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj bucky back with your buck. How you doing man. I'm good as a this. Summer's coming to a close in terms of football summer and so just gearing up training camps a couple of weeks away like we're win the middle of all these fours basketball is going baseball's going on. There's a lot of fun with the the baseball draft echoing a couple of days ago. We are in day three today as we're recording this of mlb draft twenty rounds. I think right. We go twenty rounds in baseball. I mean i don't know. I thought they'd just keep picking into this Pity a lot but we have some crossover stuff. We want to talk about that as it relates to the nfl. Some stuff we can learn couple interesting conversations. We're going to have today while i'm fired up about Opt-outs if you thought opt outs were over. You know we've got we've kind of coming out of the pandemic and restrictions have been eased in all the uncertainty. We had last year we had a number of opt-out players As we're getting ready to kick off a college football season is there a chance we see some more. That's an interesting conversation so we're going to have that a little bit and also want to talk about what's exciting about a draft. That's almost a year away is the unknown. And it's the out of left field candidates and how many out of left field candidates. You think we'll see in a first round of next year's draft we're going to we're to look back in order to look forward so that'll be a fun conversation as well first of all i'd love to get your thoughts. Did you pay any attention to the baseball draft. You get anything out of that. Oh my gosh. I was all in a dj. Like all infill down the rabbit hole just watched it all and i think what's interesting is the first time that i've actually said they watched in mlb drapped and to hear the scouts throughout terms when describing. The prospects to me is so vastly different than the way that we evaluate. Maybe project nfl prospects. I felt like when i was watching the mlb draft here in scouts talk. It was so much more on technical stuff as opposed to the sheer height weight. Speed raw. athleticism explosiveness that. We tend to talk about when it comes to the nfl and so looking added looking at the numbers that they put out like exit velocity All of those things they talk about like the sixty time and that but i felt like is such like is so much more subjective because you have scouts breaking down like hitting angle. How the hands are those things. Where i don't feel i can football. We really talk about that. We spent a lot of time talking about like the athleticism the stuff we may dabble a little bit and technique but as more about the specimen the body what they're bringing to the table the performance to production not as much about how their production was necessarily derived. Yeah i think there is some interesting parallels and if you look at like a pass rusher we about this when we're talking about russia's every year you have your explosive elite athletic trait type pass rushers and then we have our skilled technicians. I think baseball. I think the skill it's a skill sport hockey's skills or to me so they're gonna lean a little bit more towards that. There's a lot more skilled players with minimal athleticism and pro baseball than there are great athletes with minimum skill level. It's just you're not gonna hang around in the nfl if you're a great athlete..

He absolutely has superstar potential. But we're gonna talk. Some guys who have spotted at potential very early in justin feels lifetime where they've seen really developed from a guy who was kind of under underrated prospect of becoming one of the top prospects as a high school quarterback to have success. Not only a joy to begin at ohio state to being a guy that was taken at the top of the board. Ron veal mad dickman. No doubt and when we talk about him as a player before we get into these conversations With these great folks that know him at his has as anybody buck. I think the sky's the limit. We talk about everything you can do. You talk about the ability to create plays talking about his ability on design quarterback runs. You talk about him in the pocket to deliver the ball accurately at all three levels. Big time arm strength My only knock on him For for really. It's kind of nitpicking. Right is just playing with a little more urgency right. Let's just speed up. Let's crank it up a little bit and get going can be a little bit delivered at times but mom excited for him. I think that's that's fixable. And if he does get that going and picks up the place beat a little bit watch out watch out here a tremendous amount of potentially we've seen that potential play out at times those who have studied him..

"Dallas cowboys. I'm going to rip eleven through fifteen and just grabbed two that interest here eleven to the giants devante smith wide receiver from alabama. Let's stick with alabama with the twelfth. Pick pat 'certain junior pertain. The second the second or junior. I always get that i always do that. Up the second the second patch retain the second so going to the eagles. The eagles play that beautifully. They trade out from six to twelve. They still get the top corner in the draft 'certain than thirteen a little mini run on corners here. The chargers the assumption offensive. Line up. man. They need corner as well. Jc horn Premier premiere talent. He goes at thirteen to the chargers. Jalen phillips fourteen to the minnesota. Vikings and fifteen mike parsons. Linebacker penn state to the new england patriots to name. Stand out first and talk about the heisman trophy Going to the new york giants. The giants are all in on trying to upgrade the personnel around you channels so they can evaluate him and see if he is the franchise quarterback going forward. The of gives them a playmaker. Someone who was skewed route runner. And we've seen it. He gets open versus everybody. Giving them a bit open. Specialists were certainly helped daniel jones and the other pick jalen phillips going fourteen to the minnesota vikings minnesota vikings need another pass rusher. Look they were hamstrung because they didn't have. Anthony barr some of the other defensive weapons you now give phillips who was a technician at the point of attack helps them a teammate. A playmate opposite of danielle hunter on the other side. Those guys go hunt together Sixteen through twenty. I'll rip them off. Just give me one that stands out. I've got jalen waddell going to the arizona cardinals met. It'd be fun to watch him there. Seventeen the raiders. Go to linebacker jeremiah. We'll core amoah from notre dame. Gus bradley requires a lot of speeding athleticism ability to cover in that defense. They get it. miami dolphins stay local at eighteen. They get greg russo. Who there's a chance could slide a little bit with a little bit tight. Obits stiff in his workout The jumps weren't all that explosive. but go. i remind you just go back and look at the ten time there and look at how big and how long he is I'm still a fan of rousseau. Nineteen alleged vera. Tucker from usc he goes to the washington. Football team could really played left tackle for them as a rookie before eventually sliding inside When they can address at position. And then twenty greg newsom against dan right there in chicago. "I can hear an argument either way on how people sort sort him out. I'm okay with this. I i'm not gonna die on that hill. What i'm getting at. But i think both guys have the ceiling and both guys have a little bit lower floor. It's funny because i think these three guys when we talk about them we have to kind of all talk about them together right because it is such a unique conversation right so i'm going back through in in looking at these guys right. We talk about. Justin feels may will trae last one. Has the shortest resume turns the amount of gain sixteen starts whatever. But then when you go and you dig deep into justin. Feels and zack wilson. Their stores are closing comfortable. Zag wilson obviously had the injury before last season. Where like the numbers weren't necessarily what you want. But then it pops last year third three touchdowns three interceptions you look. It feels numbers. Yes sixty three nine as i guess like a two year starter one and a half year start whatever you however you quantify this shortened season that they had that wilson is super talented super skill. Love the pocket presence deploys the way that he is able to play on the script or off the script The thing that you love and we'd never can get this scouting man. I would love to see them. Play more big time games within when you go back and you look at the previous season. He has some big time game. He showed up in some of those things. But it's that's lake. Justin feels you see those wild. And you're like man i need degrade to flash is because the college football playoff against clemson was always say that's signature game because i think these played on a big stage it lets you see the talent in what the talent could be the next level but when you watch indiana and northwestern man he was repeatedly tricked and full and bad decisions Couldn't really felt like he saw some goes in terms of coverage because the late changes or whatever and you wonder how many times is he going to give food at the next level and then you wonder what kind of system. And they were trae lance. I saw those things that you talked about. Like the mrs because he does have mrs but then the thing where counterbalance it. He is by far the most accomplished runner of he ran for eleven hundred yards. He threw design quarterback. Run game has to be a part of the offense when you when you draft him. He's built for that right. And so with all of these guys. I would say how a rank i still have. Fields over will's feels is more talented in terms of like the raw physical tools in presence of whatever. But i think wilson can play in any system that you wanna play it. I think for fields a think. Not necessarily ease is predicated on this game. But there's certain things that. I think that you have to do for him. I think play action has to be a big part of it because you talk about him. Getting stuck on the primary read will play action clears all of that up. It is very easy when you stick the ball in the building and pull it back out. It is my primary my secondary. That's pretty much outplay. Axa done is he the one half of the field or right over the middle of the field. And so those things. And i think trae lance trae last needs to be an office. I'm not saying that his like baltimore but it has to be..

"That impact your ability to make these evaluations when it comes to the compare contrast do without i guess i should also mention sam darnold right. Try and you try and get in on sam and i think you know the jets. I'm curious again. What what's the best way here. Is it man. Let's get sam darnold. We're gonna if we are going to trade sam darnold. Let's trade them now before everybody else gets their quarterback or is it to say man. We might get a desperate team if we sit here and wait a little bit until the one team. That's left without a chair. We might get somebody to really overpay on this. If if they end up going down that road yeah i mean. There's there's so many things like like right now. Dj in the market. I if i'm the jets are probably wanna get sam off the books now. Because i don't want to necessarily go unless you feel like you can win with him. Do they have to make that determination. Because you still have the smoke around jimmy garoppolo in those things and maybe it is a situation. Where because you talk about the bears on the bears. Do i knock on the forty niners door to see if i can get in on jimmy garoppolo particularly because he played eastern illinois bringing all that other stuff. Whatever i mean. There's a lot we said. But but if you're if you're the jets if you have if you don't have a physical on these draftable quarterbacks you haven't watched them workout you haven't you haven't met with them. I don't know that. I'm i don't know that i can get rid of sam until i know what i'm bringing his better than what i'm getting rid of. Oh i mean. I think i think there's something to be said for that. Nothing based you'd have to make a decision. What are they really feel about. Sam i think that's the main thing i think wants digest determine. How do we feel about the quarterback that we have in the building right now. Do we feel great enough about his process that we will bypass what is out there. And we're going to go all in on building up this team around because be a lot of holes. That and so quarterback is a magic elixir to fix the problems..

"And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bucky brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj bucky back with you. And i mean. I was planning to do a whole podcast on fernando teti signing a fourteen year three hundred and forty million dollar contract but apparently we've got some mock drafts news. We need to lay out. And i guess we have kind of a trade. We need to discuss here. Oh yeah we're we're seeing. The domino's continued to fall when it comes to the quarterback situation around the league carson wentz is finally moved on from the philadelphia eagles. He is traded to the indianapolis colts and surprisingly they don't get back a first round. Pick and dishes draft return. So trade reunites him with frank right. But what do you think about the trade overall. The i look. I kind of alluded to this on twitter. I think last week rested. I think the target would be a one in twenty two not in twenty one. It'd be easier to try and get one of those now on the surface. It isn't a one and twenty two. But it look if he if he plays seventy five percent of the snaps. Or i think if they go to if he plays seventy percent of the snaps and they go to the playoffs. That will turn into a one so. If you're the eagles you know you feel probably pretty good that that ends up being a first round. Pick in twenty two. You get a third round pick this year. You'll unload a contract that really kind of a headache. once they selected jalen hurts then once carson wentz started to struggle. Both those things happen. I think you kind of reached the point of no return their buck. I mean to me. The writing was on the wall. He wanted to get out of there and at some point. Time when you're the eagles. I think you sit there and go okay. What can we get. It's time to start fresher. I think the interesting scenario. I think a lot of people don't focus on the player and reunite and frank reich and frame rate getting. I mean i would say like a lot of credit fairly or unfairly for how carson wentz played during this season. I think the biggest thing for me has less to do with carson wentz on the field and more to do with him off the field than how he ingratiates himself with his teammates..

"The last couple of years all right the seventh pick. This is where things start to get interesting. You look at the detroit. Lions and the report comes out that they are open to trading matthew stafford. So that means to me. They're very much in the quarterback market. And i would not even be shocked if they tried to move up. You look at a team like miami at pick number three bucks. That could be a destination for them to try and get up to make sure they get a quarterback they like in this scenario. They sit right where they are. Justin field from ohio state falls right in her lap. I think this is interesting is especially interesting that we look at the composition of their coaching staff. Anthony lynn coming over the of coordinator day campbell talking about being kind of a little horn team. I think you will see a run. I see as in feels throws into the position. But also look for the detroit to may be signed. A ridge quarterback maybe quarterback is tyrod. Say they don't know if he likes to bite kneecaps. I think it's a good fit there. Dan campbell all right. Let's get to pick number eight carolina panthers. I think they would have been very interested to look at a quarterback former to fall. We have four quarterbacks on in the first seven picks so they're out of. I don't think anybody they can take their matt mack jones. I think it's a little early for that. One there So i have them go with the tackle big pook a suicide oregon to the panthers at number eight. Yeah i liked it. I liked that because one thing that we know about maverick. He won't say tough and physical football team. They were unable to impose their will consistently on a you get a sewer to insert into that offense align you get christian mccaffrey back man you. The carolina panthers played the style. That rule really wants to play down in charlotte. Are we get to the ninth. Pick the denver. Broncos we got him going caleb farley here big corner out of virginia tech i i believe is the best in the draft book to me. I think is one of the five best players in the draft. He's outstanding opted out this last year. Big long fast physical with outstanding ball skills. You don't have to look any further than the afc championship game to not how you have to construct your team. You're in this division. The denver broncos you gotta deal with against the chiefs twice a year. You better have a stable of quarterbacks kayla farley gives a big physical player to maybe snuff out some of the speed and explosiveness that can't cheese can present with their wide receiver core night last. Pick here in the top ten. Let's go dallas cowboys. Let's stick with the cornerback theme here. Patrick. 'certain some people believes the top quarterback. He's one or two depending on where you talk to but big talented again long. Instinctive corner from alabama. Maybe the short area quickness not quite at the level with with farley. That's the only difference to me..

Philip Rivers and Kirk Cousins' Season Outlook

"This has become a big part of the season. The the quarterback lawyers out there so it became a topic that i talked about on monday because of the romo defending brady and basically criticizing arians but it seems like a lot of the athletes. Hate the Law offices of romo and collins worth all of these guys that seem to protect the quarterback but then it was another level for the monday night. Game with wentz where people were so mad. Anytime brian greasy would be like well actually was a screen and they missed the block here and it was on again and it looks a lot of guys i used to work with. Espn like name is. They know they are. They got so mad about the. The defense of any of these. Quarterbacks is fair when it comes to the stuff you're at home your home just like the rest of us are watching these games. They give me a break of the tampa thing and then wentz. Yeah i mean. I don't think either quarterbacks in a good situation right now when you look at those two guys. But i also think there's some i mean to to absolve either. One of them of blame is crazy to me. Neither one of our plan well So that to me. It's kind of more a little bit more nuance there. I don't think either one of them are in the right system. That fits what they do right now and the other side of it as well. But that's where you find yourself. Your job is to execute with the situation. You find yourself in. i think carson's little carson's is is is a longer story About everything that's going on there with him to me. He looks like somebody who's kind of just completely lost his confidence you know. See what a guy it out in hoops curious around like in football. We talk about guys to start guiding the ball right. They don't they don't have any confidence or trust and you're really trying to guide the ball and then you end up with some really bad messes. I don't know if a shooter go through a slump. What what that looks like. But that's what it looks like with carson. There's nothing like a quarterback who's lost confidence it really. I think eventually like if you're a decent shooter not just going to not be able to shoot for year. Because you're bummed out. I mean paul george in the bubble so whatever But i don't know what the excuse was another playoff games. I think the biggest thing that you'll notice basketball is a guy who was a guy coming back from some kind of injury and he's good to go it's not like he doesn't trust his knee. And you played a lot of basketball. He's just stuff around the rim. he's inbetween decisions. Sometimes you just forget to drive usually remember used to drive past guys but eventually all that stuff goes away. I don't think there's anything as long lasting in basketball is there is is. The quarterback is completely lost. And then you'll see guys who lose so much confidence they start changing the way they've played like that's one of the crazy things about the cousin story. Is that cousins. Was somebody who took no chances to kind of make his way into the game. And then he had some decent statistical seasons and then he actually started. I think chuck in the ball a lot last year. Know what he actually came around. And then you know. He has dug game after they beat the saints. Which wasn't surprising to me. And then the beginning of this year. He was chuckling at all over the place and they were terrible for complete like changed who they became as a team with cook and yet cousins was great. Cousins will have these moments where he's like two completely different guys which is my biggest with ever putting him up in higher group with with some other people have them up there but cousins to me like in some areas. There's some similarities to rivers. And that i always felt like with rivers man if if if he hits that that hot stretch for him when he get. The postseason like flat goes agree. Example flack over sixteen seventeen games in any season his career. Like you're not. You're not going to buy that as a change of quarterback but he always had that ceiling for manufacturing it for three or four weeks. He's capable of doing that in off they go. I've always kinda put rivers in that category. That if he could get in the tournament and just had to have one of those hot streaks he could carry them and cousins is kind of like the the next version of that were I don't trust kirk over sixteen games but in a three or four game stretch. If you've got the good version kirk cousins like that's that's dangerous. He could actually do something. I always like rivers way more cousins. I wouldn't say this version of rivers but you know he's more accomplished definitely more -ccomplish but i'm just still saying that that rivers his hot stretches lasted longer than any of kirks hot stretches. But i've seen rivers put together three unbelievable games and then just added nowhere. You're like dude what what happened. Like just a clunker can happen so that that to me is where i find a little bit of the similarity there.
