You can't really own space sort of belongs to you. Know everyone but you can put a satellite up there. I i'll give you one quick example here recently. Got my hands on one of those oculus quest. Vr things so cool. And there's something you can access if you have one of those called spheres and in this program you essentially get to exist amongst the stars for a moment and check out the birth of a star system in the universe and it's wonderful and in interactive and cool in it gives you this real sense that the whole point of learning more about this about space is for our discovery about ourselves in the universe to learn who we are and where we come from an. Why bright answering these big questions. And it's very inspiring and i think that exists as you said been that reality exists at the same time as all of these other large if whether it's a corporation or governmental institution seeking to Achieve some other goal. Yeah yeah this. This is where we see a lot of conflicting interests and a lot of complementary interests. Strange bedfellows would be cliche. Could apply here but we also see. No shortage of genuine conspiracies. Today's episode if you haven't read the title is something like the dark side of nasa. This is one dark side of space exploration to be very clear and Just like the age of mercantilism. Right during european colonization of the american continents. Just like that We may see a new problem in new dark side in the near future as private industries become the initial explorers of things right like if like it is not is no longer science fiction to imagine a world in which there one town on the moon and it's amazon town and everybody who lives there by virtue of living. There is somehow amazon employees. Like that's not impossible and we need to As as people living today we need to have lucid conversations about that but to understand that possibility. We need to also understand thing. Events of past space exploration have been skewed by propaganda. I'm not saying they're not amazing. They are there are some of the most important things the human species has ever done. But you might not be getting the whole story in your text books. You might not be getting the whole story in a history channel documentary and today's episode comes to us courtesy of listeners suggestions and questions about the very same thing. We'd like to give a special shout out to conspiracy realist wyatt in missouri. Who inspired us to ask. What exactly as nasa been getting up to all this time and who else is involved. Let's start with nasa. Here are the facts. Nasa or the national aeronautics and space administration was created in one thousand. Nine hundred fifty eight It was from the start intended to be nonmilitary. Staffed by civilians Very much kind of as we've described meant to be sort of exploratory kind of like pushing the bounds of human ingenuity capability out into the stars. Right today it remains home to some of the most preeminent space exploration programs in the world Things like project. Mercury which is the first united states space program to put humans into space that made twenty five flights and six of those flights carried astronauts between nineteen sixty one and nineteen sixty three. Which i guess you could consider the golden age of space exploration right More than two million people from government agencies the aerospace industry all kind of chip. Dan combined their skills and expertise to make these projects possible and to date nastase successfully.

"The fall the crisp clear days a harbinger of we asked that don't go so far as then saying because they are defending him or saying they liked him on trade I had a guy emailing me yesterday say really likes trump on trade and so he's willing to put up with okay well but here's the other thing strategically Rama I would think you know as a liberal or Democrat or whatever all right view I I think that you need to remember that that there's still a still more similarities than differences I am pretty sure I'll because I work with a lot of people on on a regular basis who I have huge disagreements on these issues so I do that on a regular basis tonight do not bring these discussions into where we have common job to perform an I don't do it for that specific reason so we don't end up just sitting there steaming at they will not if anybody ever you stopped me on the street and asked me about these how I'm talking to you now same way I will answer Rondo down the hill from here because you know listen I've watched the Republican Party for decades now I get one point I o I could have voted for George H W Bush I I really could have but then when Ron Reagan came out with his bit about the Welfare Queen and I had a sister at that time who was on welfare and you know this is a woman who over over the course of her life had gone from public assistance to being what you would call sufficient to actually doing a lot to help out other people but you know when Ronald Reagan called her and her ilk welfare queens because they were they needed up temporary assistance that that that turned me against him specifically and then when the Republican Party picked up that mantle of going after four people at turned me against the Republican Party I am not pro Democratic Party by any stretch of the imagination and I I actually more than liberal I'm probably more libertarian than anything else if you WANNA put me in a big buck but none of the the truth is when they sit down with me or you or anybody the else very few of us if any of US actually fit into some neat little box I can tell you though when you're supporting an organization that does some you think you're supporting what that organization does and if the Republican Party is circling wagons around a misogynist racist is lying woefully ignorant individual with an authoritarian worldview that's what they're supporting because that's what they're defending call I appreciate it I think you're you've made your point we're gonNA move on glad to have and be able to introduce my next guest who is Dan Richards. Dan is a former president of the Vermont bars. does Asian prominent Montpellier attorney involved in a lot of different issues here in Vermont also close student of what goes what's going on at the federal level and I think we're going to focus some on that this morning given it there is so much going on in the federal level where which touches on the law and we'll get to that in a couple of minutes I wanted to bring in a caller who gives her during during the break in Vicki from Williston joins US Good Morning Mickey Yeah Hi Tricia Pie tell you should I really didn't all your show I don't listen to talk radio because I know people are always screaming and I green here present God provoking topic very respectful manner in the other when I say just in response to the last Germans call now I somewhat agree with him I think I have friends who support trump and I'll we just don't talk about it anymore Oh how we're beyond that people are changing their Saif but I I think you're also beyond political views we're talking about what some of the current administration fault that he's my morals is loss of my way of life and now you're really stepping on out of the arena things you need a lot today so I think that becomes some I'm Oceano to people such as myself and yeah I just think for different times now yeah you know the Wiki I think you're right about that and I mean one of the ah that I it has been bothering me is that I I actually am frequently bothered by the president's behavior as much as policy in and or ideology I mean I I I do disagree with some with some of his stuff on policy climate change for instance you know and and and other things but but the behavioral stuff you know when when you labels or he says to four women of color who are members of Congress that they should go back where they came from when he calls Neo Nazis marching on Charlottesville very fine people all is all these different instances of and I've said repeatedly on the program here that if Bernie Sanders at some somehow gotten elected and and president in twenty sixteen and L. had been talking about grabbing women by their private parts. Ib on Bernie's Dan Bernie Sanders case about that too or even go so far as people talking about we need have more respect for the presidency because you know he's in the White House that is very important institution in our country and then he goes out in the public stumping uses words like B s won't say these specific word but you know what I mean and when he uses language like that or s whole countries are or whatever I think that actually diminishes the back at the White House is getting from its current occupant and that just that lowers the discourse all the way around and it's it's unfortunate so but I thank you thank you for the call Vicky interesting thoughts and don't be a stranger gotta check in with us again my next guest Dan Richardson is I mentioned is is a problem lawyer and is a frequent guest on the Dave Graham Show on legal issues and he's he's getting to be I love the way some of the cable shows on maybe round up a group of lawyers and Dan's ours so we like having Dan Combine and tell us what he thinks Dan one thing I wanted to clear up right off the bat if is the definition of treason because I'm not a lawyer maybe you can help me out with this but the president is accusing Adam Schiff the chair of the House Intelligence Committee even of tree season and fraud is Adam is Adam Schiff guilty of either of these crimes no no it's very clear and so there's a number of reasons why trump is doing this the let's start with the definition of treason treason against its actually defined in the constitution. It's one of those rare cases where we can look to the document and have the answer and treason treason against the United States show consist only in levying war against them or in hearing to their enemies giving them aid and comfort and it says that no person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act Oren Confession in open court so what that means is that treason only occurs during wartime it only occurs when we give comfort to the to the enemies of the United States as a country that are are attacking us or assistance to them so trump's allegation against shift really don't meet that definition schiff basically paraphrase parodied misstated however you want characterizes opening statements trump's call with the Ukrainian president that's not treason as defined in the constitution it may be treasonous to trump personally but that's not what treason is under the constitution now why is trump racing treason that's because the only crime that alleged so there's a doctrine known as legislative immunity which says that legislators when they're on the floor when they're working can the accused of a crime vis-a-vis their acts in Congress so they have immunity from that so you couldn't you couldn't do a congressman for making a quote Unquote eh defamatory statement through a CL- committee hearing and so but the one exception to that is treason and in soared ham fisted way the president has has grabbed onto this concept in his sort of you know boldly led with it without necessarily understanding the nuance it's now the definition of treason in common parlance has more wider Meaning it's it's more general synonym for disloyalty which is clearly what the I think the president is is pushing when he uses this term and emphasize thing as if you know if you say something bad about the president the office of the pre the person occupying the office of the President and you're somehow being disloyal to the United States and and frankly that's not what the founders intended with the word treason put into constitution and that's not really an American sense of the word treason yeah I mean it's a very specific thing it doesn't it's not a crime that is prosecuted it's prosecute very very rarely is that correct it is it's it's a bit like perjury in the sense that you know it requires such a high level of proof that there have been only a few notable instances is where people were the evidence of people's quote unquote treasonous behavior has risen to the standard that has been allowable and admissible in court and sustained as it's a basis for such allegations of treason you know it it really does require overt acts or or an open confession that you intended to give aid and comfort to the enemy and you know there is that limitation I mean the the key word there is only and you know if you read some articles about this and that scholars have published you know the founders were particularly sensitive about the concept of treason because the the concept the word treason in the pre colonial the era and before was often used as a tool to stymie or stifle descent and so if you spoke against the king you were treasonous you know whether or not you were just complaining about the the taxes or the policies that the king was enacting internally the word treason concept treason was bandied about as a way of keeping people from voicing their dissent openly in the founders very aware of this and very sensitive to it and so when the define treason they wanted to limit its applicability and so you know what trump is doing in his tweets is sort of melded with treason and that's why they mentioned the specific crime in the constitution they WANNA put a very small box around it I think absolutely I mean you have to really is it the founders of course where students of history and were you had the loyalists to the king and the puritans revolting around heads to even the politics of of British government in their day in the seventeen hundreds that you know there was a lot of use of treason to stifle this type of dissent and so they did they wanted to put it in a very clear black box to limit its use they did want to be able to punish if somebody was disloyal you know they were forming a new nation loyalties hadn't quite sure yet and so they did wanna make it a punishable crime but they wanted to keep it limited and then so you know I think they were very clear and you know when you look into constitution there are things there that are maddeningly vague you know the process of impeachment itself is not very well laid out in the constitution but you know there are these small glimmers where the founders chose to make these very clear definition Sion's to limit the power as a framing tool in don't forget the constitution is vague on purpose because it's a framing tool not a statutory structure that that would be more specific and so you know when the founders limit something in this framing tool they really mean it.

"Again, I went into the break asking this very very simple question. And there's been a couple of stories forwarded to me, and I an from the twin cities listening an iheartradio. I thank you very much. And she's read that Ronald Reagan and President Obama. George. W. It's again, which is is it unfair of me to say two of the Trump administration, and is people who are close to him that listen, you gotta watch everything you watch everything you say because you get no quarter from these people zero not zip, zilch. Should he be so paranoid that he can't sign an autograph on a bible? I don't think so. I've seen people. Bookmark and and highlight passages of the bible that have very near and dear to them very special to them. Again, but to have the the attention and the and the end the ink and the airtime committed to something as trivial as this. How much airtime has been given to the fact that stormy Daniels lawsuit was dismissed on on Thursday. Saying that in essence, the non disclosure agreement was torn up, and what she wanted was in essence to get sworn testimony. But Trump team vowed not to penalize her in any way, shape or form for soda. It's kind of a watch. But it is a victory for Donald Trump. Do you think that's going to be celebrated or shouted throughout the land? That should this story. Should should it. Be. But there are several different ways. You could look at a story like this. I mean, and again, it's certainly this cat is going to be treated different than other. I meant no disrespect. I say President Trump. But it is what it is. And you gotta get serious about life. You gotta get serious about what you do. You. Gotta get serious about. You know, where your hatred lies? If you if you agree with the DNC to not hold any debates on Fox News, then every democrat Representative that goes on Fox News as a talking head as a pundit as as an analyst you need to say. Yeah, you can't do that anymore. And I credit a lot of the the liberal slash democrat talking heads on FOX, although came out and said, this is a bad idea on the part of the DNC. And an earlier caller by out today on the show. I think is advice. Genius hold a town hall the very same day, you that CNN and MSNBC and the networks hold the debate. Yeah, we're gonna have a little town hall today. And they're gonna wind and they're gonna scream and they're going to roll around in their own waste fill up. Their depends just shed tears until they get their way. I want to see that. But you heard at the top of the hour during Fox News here on news talk eleven thirty WFAN that Bernie Sanders is a talking about the the grade and no hatred, and it's a very different platform than what the Democrats came out with last time really thinking outside. Collectively him and Joe Biden a result of the country. I like it. But this this Saturday is left the building we all know that. And at one point when Donald Trump became the candidate. I said for those of you will watch office space. Kevin I I got a special place in my heart for Kevin. This is going to be awesome. Because I knew it was to be awesome. This is going to be so awesome. Do you have any cupcakes? I just. This is only gonna but this is going to be brutal. This time around is going to be brutal. I I'm just curious to see how it flushes out. And again to have the the DNC throw in this little regimen the mechanics as far as the debates where conducted and how they're conducted for my money. Chris Wallace one of the best moderate is of general election debates hands down. You know, you get to the primaries you get to. The L the nonsense of the it just you know, what you think the very first debate that Donald Trump went to do you think he was treated with kid gloves by Fox News. I don't think so. Megan Kelly would tell you. She doesn't think so. People are lunatics. And you know, when you act stupid, I got a call it out. Let me give you a story here. This is marked market stupidity. A Jaguar attacked a woman who reportedly crossed over a barrier while trying to take a photo Saturday at a west valley. Arizona wildlife park, according to fire officials rural metro fire crews responded to a report of a lady attacked by Jaguar about six forty pm at the wildlife zoo, aquarium and safari park near northern avenue and loop three or three, and let's feel park crews found the woman at the zoo with lacerations to her arm, and she was taken to a hospital turns out. Not only she did. Did she go over a barrier to take the photograph? She posed to take a selfie with the Jaguar. In other words, she turned her back on the Jaguar after she crossed over into the closure. Now is the very larger societal message here is there. A larger message here for the rest of us. Not only here in America. But across the globe has the selfie world has the has the instant assess world instant celebrity world create a bunch of lemmings and knuckleheads out of a lot of people. Yes, it has. If for those of you were screaming that the Republicans are horrible. You're part of this crowd. You don't even know the history of your own party, which is racism, which is lynching, which is slavery. That's who you are. You started migrating over the democrat party when FDR stood against ought to give it away. What's what's that free stuff? I think about supreme court rulings when I think about if the aren't his presidency, very, very interesting. If you would if any jurist looked at the social security. Plan as was laid out back in the in the thirties. And if any jurors sat down so this is completely and totally unconstitutional. Do you imagine any jurists today any juries today sitting down looking at that legislation, and I I would have to raise my head up in my room say this is insane. I mean, this is not pass constitutional muster. Does it completely and totally unconstitutional? Whether you're conservative or whether you're a liberal Justice ain't no way in hell. Anybody gonna touch social security today? Not going to happen. Never going to be touched. Well, it's precedent. President y'all. Okay. He's contradicted quite a few things producer and in the end the latest testimony as far as he's contradicted, Rosenstein. And I believe McCabe as well in that in that testimony. It's gotta be really fleshed out over the next couple of days. Is it a smoking gun yet to me it is? And he also points out that his own wife didn't work for GPS fusion, and there's a lot of really nasty sticky stuff here and the as far as the dossier. By Chris Steele. Everybody calls into question. But then he lied and said, well, we we thought it was legitimate that it's really a lot of bad stuff going to come out of that. Actually, I think that dossier was written by Glenn Simpson. Shot back to steal through Nellie. Or because fusion GPS is one of the contractors were working for the FBI. They were given access to this. You know to the scabbard, but but still was also personally paid by the FBI as as a as a informant if you will. Even save everybody got direction. Brench? Oh, yeah. He's got a good retirement going. Yeah. It's gotta be pretty big. It's depending again, if you look at the reaction of the DNC this week with Fox News, certainly CNN MSNBC, the New York Times watching most is certainly not going to cover that story. And they're not going to touch it. Now people like you and the rest of us. Well, we'll take care of it. We let people know what's going on. It gets out there. Danny good right here. Red chevro- day Pelfrey. She had let's go to what Tom and oak creek has been very very patient. Tom are you done with sketching yet? I've quite had. Yes. I am. Get started with this. That story you told about the guy Zillah thing on Friday. Yes. On tall that story again. Because it's you was that the first was that the first time you heard that I heard a couple of times. But every every time you tell it just gets funnier funnier God gave me a gift. What are you going? Listen, I don't have the patience or the maturity to pass up a good name about L C. So all right. All right. Let's get that out of the way right away. All right. I figured I'd throw it out there. All right. Thank you know me. I'm I'm kind of like you can't pass up there. I am a juvenile. I'm not gonna lie. I am juvenile. No such. In the mud and everything. Yeah. Okay. Check this out. Now, the other thing about the DMC up on on FOX on FOX. You set up the socialist, stop tactic everything the democrat party does nowadays socialist tactic Dan combined now h up to that. Now. See, that's that's what communist socialist. That's a communist. It's a bad. If it's not Pravda. It's not good enough to be on the road. Either way. But obviously that comes out of their mouths and everything that comes out of the DNC is either socialist or communist idea, so let's let's look that way right there. We used to talk to you about this our bodies, some of my buddies are like liberal, right? Okay. Squabble warming thing. And this is back when the green new deal is coming out. And I don't know how we got on the subject, but I was thinking in in your kind of mindset. Yes. But we we started talking in one of my buddies who says, oh, we to weather's getting nicer. "Dan combined with Broomhead thoughts only here on NewsTalk five fifty camp y. You're listening to the conservative circus. I am your ring message AFC hairs like a civil rights song. Absolutely. In the valley. We we've made national news we but not in a good way. We have the waste management open going on. We have people trying to get back and forth around the city and people use Uber to do that and people use a lift, but the danger is for the passengers right now. The danger is that we have lifting. Uber drivers who were attacked. We have a on Wednesday night in Tulsa near ninety. I treat ninety first avenue and McDowell road. The we got a guy who was stabbed the driver. Throat was slit. They ever arrested somebody in this whole thing, and he's facing felony charges of attempted second degree murder and aggravated assault. We had a a driver a lift driver who was killed passenger stabbed and killed a pregnant lift driver in Tempe. Now, I think that these rights services are fantastic ideas. I mean, they're so convenient. They were right from your cell phone. Just get an app Ford tied into your count. You don't have to carry cash could pay the person, and you can give them a tip from your app. And controversial at first because of the whole taxi service and things like that. But I tell you. You have people who are using their cars to do this. And they're making extra cash on the side. But now we have we have drivers who are getting killed. By passengers, and what's crazy about it as you have to? I mean, if it with any kind of police investigation, they're going to check the phone and find out who the booth who the the the fare was and boom, you're you got unless you stole the phone and did this. But they have it all set up to where if you get a lift too as you drive up. You know, the driver see your picture, and if it's not you. Nope, I'm not going to do this. So this is kind of crazy. I know that some drivers are now beginning to conceal and carry to protect themselves. That's not a bad idea. But the police have said that these two incidents have nothing in common. And that's frightening. Something's going on here in the valley. Let's hope and pray that this is a soak. Isolated incidences that this is not going to be some new trend or pattern. It happens with left drivers with Uber. Drivers that only in the city. But across the country. Strange times that we are living in. No, we. In the new year. We started this new practice of of going to our Lord in prayer. Just pray for the country. Pray for the city pray for what's going on as we go into the weekend. So we're going to do that right now if you're driving down the road, and you wanna pray with beheading onto the day. And we'll keep your eyes open. But we want to go to our farther father. And so we we begin dear Lord precious. Lord, we come to you once again asking for mercy and your favor upon these United States of America. The ask for mercy lower because New York and Virginia have decided that they have the right to disregard human life. Forgive them. Jesus. Have mercy on us. We asked for mercy because Justice would be too great a price for them to pay for those who are unrepentant Jesus. We also ask for wisdom and discernment favor and protection over our president. Lord, you make the rain fall upon the just and the unjust. We all reap the benefits of your favor. Please bless President Trump may we all reap the benefits far the guy, we know walls are important to you, you tear them down and you build them up. Like Nehemiah Lord. We ask that President Trump lead the effort to rebuild the walls to keep out the enemies of of our sovereign nation. And just like in the book of Nehemiah, Lord, please. Remember and record the names of those who helped build the wall bless their.
