"On on this guy. It was lunch zhao. And now i think it's joe lung zhao. I'm not sure how if that changed. Or but he's going to be interesting evaluation. If he's the youngest arm on the entire salt river roster and then like this roster has like spencer torkelsson michael totally was a was a features game guy which hitting first baseman from ucla. Who's one of the better prospects in the rockies system. And then joey wimer who will stand apart from the other kids on this roster because it's like his famous gigantic. He does not get cheated. Discussing the most epic haxhi all the fall league. He was also one of the hardest throwing pitchers in division one baseball in twenty twentieth university of cincinnati. So this is the ben. Lindbergh player was like a to a guy in college. And now as a giant power hitting outfielder in the brewers system. Okay so moving onto the scottsdale scorpions which hey like. Oh you boston fans you get to be excited about stuff again. I don't know let's let's talk about what's going on with. Connor seebold conner c. Bold the red sox kinda pilfered from a desperate late contact era affiliates who just needed bullpen guys and seebold would just be one of those types you'd be in the back of most rotations at this point you know i saw cbo twice this year. He's like ninety one ninety three with great command. Gotta plus change up and his breaking ball has shape and depth in first pitch utility. It's like a nasty little surprise. Show i picture someone. Who's sitting on a fastball. And here comes this. Like slow looping curveball infrastructure one. he's a good back in starting prospects. he was hurt for a bunch of the year needs. Pickup innings icepack. Toby in the big leagues some point next year as like a four five starter. Yes he's already on the forty man right. Yeah he's a forty mega okay. And then. here's an oldie but a goodie for you one bishop. You one hundred bishop. Asu what schools. He's supposed to go through. My baby was supposed to go to u. dub and play like football and baseball and then he recommitted very late in the process. The arizona state had a rough go of it early in his career in college and then during non conference play in february of his draft. He went insane and like had one of the hottest months in all of college baseball. And you know. He changed his swing. It looked more like christian yelich at that time and the oath whether you ascribed any sort of real nist to his breakout was like all right. We'll look as soon as different Then start seeing more curve balls during pac twelve play and he started kind of fall off and he has either been hurt or not really performed during most of the rest of his career. So this'll be an interesting test. This could be this. Maybe a guy who be exposed here during this falling in a way that makes us all collectively rounding down on him. Yeah definitely him and and jeeter down on this roster to or the two guys where it's like And then i think i am not speaking out of turn that you think this guy is just unequivocally good they you'll also have marco luciana from the giants right. Yeah yeah the scott lineup. is the rousers loaded. Patrick bailey of the giants is catching for trump from nc state In twenty twenty switch hitting like awesome around player markle luciano's got some of the best bat speed on the planet let alone in the prospect universe. Like just on the planet market lozano's bats beat stands apart from most other people curtis mead who raise also stole from the phillies australian kid who they push pretty aggressively this year. doesn't really have a position does he can't throw to first base from third base accurately but and his approach is not good but like puts the bat on the ball and hits the crap out of it. He's really interesting. Curtis me maybe some late looming stuff there too because he's an australian kid. Jose tena with cleveland. Big forty men evaluation there and in heriberto hernandez or as we call them on the backfield's before the rangers traded him to the raise heribert. God which is went on like an epic run towards the end of his complex season in twenty nineteen. Where he was just. You cannot get him out. He was going to punish you on that. Those as rangers teams From twenty nineteen He's here now and i- suber cannot wait to watch heriberto play. Just one of those guys who absolutely mashes doesn't really have position and i don't care and then last but not least we have the surprise enviros. And what's the latest on jackson relig- a good one. Yeah jackson rutledge went to arkansas for him. There there was like you know he wasn't throwing strikes and so he didn't pitch because arkansas has viable alternatives. He transferred to a junior college sin. Same into junior college in texas. Which is one of the bigger ones Big big arm strength Giant guy sit ninety five ninety seven. Show you nine. Slider is hard in the mid eighties movement. Wise it's like about average but it lives mostly off. Its velocity between the injuries and destroy throwing track record and like his size general athleticism. I've got in the bullpen. But it could be a real impact. Bullpen arm in relatively short order for the nationals. And then what about. What about ezekiel duran. Duran came over from the yankees in the joe gallo trades. He's rangers prospect now. He's another one where he's very young. But because of when latin american players sign he's got to be put on the forty man here. I think we even on the forty. I already but if not i think that his his no it's this winter that he put on the forty man which you know he's a dan uggla clone in a lotta ways like has that kind of body is not a good second base defender. He's going to strike out but boy oh boy for a middle infielder hit you know. Maybe thirty plus runs a year. That's pretty rare in this a shot to do that so The rangers group on this roster is is very good we will see duran. We will see justine foss q. First round pick out of mississippi state from a couple years ago a guy who was like when he was in college it was. Hey this guy's performed against the sec. He's a hit to a guy and you know play second base then. He showed up to spring training and he's built like a brick house. He has like two grades more worth of power and striking out a bunch of leaning into power like totally the opposite type of player that he was in college. So he'll be interesting to watch. Sam huff folks. You know he's going to be playing first base. Not catching here. Which is going to you know. Hurt his value overall. He's got eighty raw sam. Huff does and then ace. Alesi the royals left. He was a top five. Pick a couple of years ago. Saw him on the backfield's earlier this week. He looks kinda rusty his his feel for throwing strikes disorder regressed. But i did see one inning in his first Outing so don't take any of that as gospel yet. Let's see how the these next six weeks plot for. Acc okay well we will have more to come on prospects generally the fall league in particular and certainly the post season in the coming weeks before we close just in case anyone says but meg you didn't talk about the. Nfl wildcard game at all. And that's disappointing to us. Because we enjoyed the anna wildcard game. I would put to you eric. What did you enjoy most about the. Nfl wildcard game. Did you find the potential of a pools walk-off intriguing. Yeah you know. I the chat during the in a wildcard gas. I feel like lose thirty. Iq points in watching the game itself. It's hard to do two things at once. Which is sort of. Yeah not. I don't know like yeah..

"Did in between innings you going to hear it for me and i look back at it and say well why why was i so angry but anyway There was a guy who was standing up at a. I believe it was. It was the second collapse. Two thousand and eight It was the day that shea stadium the last day of shea stadium receiver seaver and piazza came outta centerfield. And i was there field level right field. If you remember shea stadium. They had that one section that went up and face towards home plate in right field and we were sitting there and there was a guy in during that game remember. Emotions are high at this point. Two metre collapsed and again they can't hit sort of similar to what's going on right now and there was a guy who refused to sit down during play and he was the only guy who would not sit down and i was screaming at him calling him all sorts of names the worst names you could possibly say. And he just did not. Irrefutable even acknowledge me or anything else. Got up in-flight behind him. It was yelling in his ear. Like sit down the only black hole. Who's out here standing up didn't even look at me. Nothing and finally a security guard came over and threatened to throw them out. And that's why sat down but that was the closest and not even close and if he wanted to fight me something happened. There's no doubt about it. But and i look back at it and i was like what are you doing. Yeah what type of sicko. Because it was ten nothing array started complaining that one. Yeah no i think the two thousand two glavin gladwin was seven. This was the next one. Yeah which was. Eleven game ended chase stadium. I thought i i thought glavin was was two thousand seven and they got blown out and part of the big collapse. Well we can check. I don't know we'd go back. I just wrote the one thing. I do remember that. Was you know your closing down shea stadium after that loss and your fans are sticking around feeling terrible about themselves And then you get into all the stuff that should have probably been done. Pre-game is what it is. That was that was really tough. That was howard. Johnson was the hitting coach. And i remember he had to go out there and take his uniform off and go out there and be part of a ceremony and they couldn't hit and he gonna. Yeah anything about howard johnson. He can't hit us off ball. He can't a softball. No really no. Would you guys played them back. In the day he played on our team. A couple softball. No wow hot right. My wrong is a tower. John hundred percent correct looked like he had never been an athlete like he was just pulled of some accounting office. Somewhere and shocks own weird. Yeah and doc was terrible to Well yeah and who was the guy. The former yankee who looked like he could still play major league. Baseball mccabe remembers mickey rivers. Make one hundred percent is awesome. Probably in his sixties and he was roped me rip and ropes down the line every he came up to bat. And there's howard. Johnson with one of those guys mickey rivers of walks into the room. Just instantly makes everybody happier. He's just always got a smile on his face. Very friendly wants to talk into everything and everybody. Yeah i could see. This is one of those yankee ambassadors. Bops around all the sweets and stuff to say hello to people that love and life and loves it absolutely loves being mickey rivers and the todd zeal. Come into the mets tweet. A few years ago ago couldn't have been friendlier. That's kinda it's a neat little job for sure. A little ambassador. John and bart scott didn't know which way to roy apart song. That was ray rice. I thought both of them actually not know which which end of the math hold. That's possible entirely. Never played never picked up a bat in his life but he never played or watched. He didn't know that would be like kennedy late afternoon. And these are all pros in their sport. Yes not no cuts in howard. Johnson's case pro in the it wasn't softball baseball right. That's true that is true. That was a total meltdown to close. Shay was actually oliver perez. Started that game. I have no recollection. Yeah well do you. Here's the guy who gave so it was too too and there was a big home. Run that was given up in that game by scott showing weiss. Oh my god do you remember that. I remember scott shown wise. I don't remember the home now. Yeah i forget who hit it. I'm trying to find it but Yeah just Pretty ugly stuff. Was dan uggla. Who hit it. Dan uggla was dan. Yeah now west. Helms offer showing weiss. And then dan uggla off of the we sei allah my goodness. Yeah and the mets couldn't hit score to ron's four hits just pathetic. You know it's funny. Bring up these names because literally world series starting in these you know Qualifying games and teams winning their regional championships to get in. And i saw todd frazier. I guess nephew or cousin. Whoever it was Had a big hit the other night. And i know he pitched in the west pennsylvania yesterday but it was interesting because they were talking. They kept flashing back. Todd frazier in the lower. Little league world series. They showed the video of conforto. And then i started scrolling and google surging. You know the players that have come through. That ended up. Being major leaguers is amazing. The names you come across as you're going threatening you kind of like just dan uggla was less. I'm even thought of him. I years and years probably two thousand eighth mike. And who's the guy like. Pat burrow the guy that used to kill the mets nothing the rest of his career but my god anytime you played the mets had big home runs. I mean there's guys you so there's one guy who pitched an inning in that game for the mets that i don't have any recollection of and i was as big of a fan. You can possibly be at that point the rest of the guys. I remember all right so give me this. Give me three names. His name in to fake names. We'll see if i can pick them out. Okay because if you don't have any recollection. I find it hard to believe i will all right here. We go. brian. Smith luis gomez. Brian stokes Wow which one of those is a real name. I am gonna well. They're all real names. I'm going to say pitcher. That pitching game. I'm going to say because you went so basic that it's his name. brian smith. Brian stokes is the real. He pa- brian. Stokes was a pitcher for the mets. Any pitched in that game. I don't remember a damn thing about brian. Neither do i. now. I remember these. Other guys are res- joe smith. Show unwise lewis. I ala pedro. Feliciano and bobby parnell. And isn't oliver perez stolen roster somewhere he may i think he may be. I mean he's been pitching forever. Because i know he ended up in cleveland for a while. And i think with Was with the san francisco giants to i mean look at Remember ryan church. Yes of course are mirai shin and they flew him back from the west coast. Right never adds no. I know history repeating self over and over again. It is crazy. I'm jay oliver perez here if you look at him then i'll ep is when he was a source of many many al dukes songs If you go back my internet's things here. I'm trying to pull up his baseball reference. Because i if he's not pitching he literally just finished pitching. I would say and not long ago. I'll look it up. But you remember nick evans. Oh my god. No nick outfielder. Yeah he was like a guy was not a highly touted. Prospect came up out of the mets system. Hit a couple of home runs. Goofy looking guy. No i no recollection of nick evans. Oh man that's a new one for me. Oliver perez baseball references. He pitched in twenty twenty. One i'm going to say no but had he he has. I don't know when his last one was be pitching five games in two thousand twenty four. Who cleveland oh still with the indians. Okay with cleveland's twenty eighteen okay. I don't know if he's heard. Or what the deal is but he has pitched twenty twenty one like those songs that outdid about oliver perez. Fill like thirty years ago. I mean think about it you probably. He was probably doing them in two thousand and you guys started in seven seven thousand eight. I guess you're probably right. Think about how long ago that is now. The life of a lefty reliever julie baseball. And i remember he had so much potential and oliver perez at one really good year perez started in two thousand and two airman. Are you serious. Yeah spent those years with the pirates and then came over. It's been how much money do you think oliver perez has made in his career You had to guess man as you may never made thirty million dollars a year. But he's pitch for nineteen season. Say seventy five million seventy five million. Let's see pull this up now. Baba baba he has made. He's made a lot of money. I'll give him that. I'm seeing fifty two point. I see the same thing not bad. Not bad about a better way to go through life. Fifty two million just come out of the bullpen. Get a couple.

"How about this guy, and he hasn't played here in a while, but he's still fourth all time. Troy Tulowitzki with 10. He used to do his thing. Sunnyvale kid, right? Yep. What's going on? I don't know. Just sorry about that. Sort of found something fired on the computer. There. Um, That's crazy. And then you know who's fifth. Mike tied for fifth. Giancarlo Stanton with nine and Dan Uggla with nine. I remember Dan Uggla tormenting the Giants, but he did. Tormentor. Rooney play for him. He did. He hits your as a got a ring. I mean, they have played three games and whatnot and didn't have any good at patch and he went to get in the ring. How about that? So you know, I'll be wears it every day. I do. Isn't that funny? Isn't that funny? Say hit none as a giant paid nine as an opposing guy, and then just one last one. Just it's nice to see the Dodgers. You know, listen if the Giants misery loves company and the Dodgers losing extra innings on a wild pitch Runner goes the third. Will Smith throws it off of Justin Turner's glove. Marty scores Dodgers lose right so As you would say, you Ha Daddy, Right? Well, you know it. It just It's hard. It's hard to have a winning record. At this level. It is and there's no Free pass, you know out of your I don't care. You know the team that's lost like the Cubs stimulus. What? 10 11 in a row. If they were playing the Giants tonight, you would think it's going to be a heck of a game. I mean, it's just the big leagues and It can turn around so fast, and you just can't ever take anybody for granted. Marlins are good team giants saw that firsthand. And now the Dodgers are finding it out. Especially in Miami. So it's the big leagues and you know you get what you earn. And you do not ever ever take any team lightly. Yeah, we'll go. Marlins go. So all right. Well, Alex would tonight is anything you're looking for any keys? I mean, like you said, you know, his month of June wasn't good, but He's got to attack these guys tonight. Somebody's going to do anything. You're seeing the Cardinals approach the first two games. No, I mean they've been at. It all depends on the guy that we're facing. And I think any time you see Alex would take a, uh, a start. You always concern yourself with the lowball hitters and You know nobody. Molina's get low ball hitter and, you know, interesting is met Carpenter. I mean, he's had good numbers against Alex wouldn't and I say that's unusual because he's a left handed hitter. Usually with the funkiness from Alex Wood, and the slider eats left handers for lunch. But I don't know if that coverage is going to be in the game or not, although with his history he might be. I would keep an eye on those two matchups and, of course. Are not owned Goldsman. Yeah, for sure. Alright, Mike. So tough game. Good game. Two Good teams. Jazz. Still in first, Alex would tonight will enjoy your broadcast and talk to you Friday. Bit microcode getting the power are off to a rousing start. As the Giants kind of lick their wounds have lost six and nine now. Yeah, Yeah, They've lost 69, but they're not the Cubs losing 11 Snow, and they're still in first. I don't have the game. That is incredible. The Dodgers keep they cannot get ahead. It's great. It's been what did you say? 35 days or some like that 36 days. This is I think this is day. 37. Amazing, really is amazing. Last yesterday was a 30 for the greatest team in the history of baseball to be down this long is pretty remarkable. Alright. Top six stories cooler can 10 Bagley's coming up Wednesday. We still got, uh, the NBA Finals to chit chat about Aaron Rodgers. Boring Paulie Mac out there doing this thing. And, of course, my joy over my Italians doing their thing.

"We're talking byline sports more sports half. I mean it's enough to make her head explode. This is sports overnight. America with your host jeff and welcome back. It's sports overnight america. We're talking here on the program. Or as joe dimaggio fifty. Six games in nineteen thirty-one one the head fifty six consecutive games with ahead. Always come within. And he's got such a dominant record. The you have to go back a while. Pete rose in nineteen seventy eight with forty four games. So it's been. It's been over forty years since anyone's even hit and forty four straight games. Tough forty six. Not fifty fifty to forty four. Paul molitor thirty nine games in one thousand nine hundred eighty seven. These are before dimaggio willie keeler. In the nineteenth century bill dahlen of the chicago cubs. Forty two games in eighteen hundred four george sizzler of the st louis. Browns forty one games nine hundred. Twenty two ty cobb forty games. That's a nice resume edition for both pete. Rose and ty cobb wanted to the all-time hitless you figure that. They're going to be able to the they they got a lot of hits probably long stretches they're probably a lot of a lot of twelve thirteen game hitting streaks for a lot of hall of famers that don't end up on this list even dob defazio. Joe's brother thirty four games nineteen forty nine. That was after the fact. That was an interesting jason. Sure and real time jimmy rollins. Thirty eight games That spanned over the. Oh five oh sixties and you're going to get into you gene demonstrable fred clark. There's ty cobb again. Nineteen seventeen jili player to two appearances on this list. I can see all sizzler. Thirty five games. The next named out he actually had a longer hitting streak cobb for number five on the list. Jay salt on the so couple of couple of modern day. Philadelphia phillies benito santiago. You're younger you don't have any clue. Benito santiago is you had a if you had his rookie card. Thirty four games in nineteen eighty seven for the four padres catcher. And you get the how chase rogers hornsby is. Everybody with thirty games are more dan. Uggla and other modern day player. Hal morris. I remember him from the nineties with the rats thirty two games over the ninety six ninety seven season devoting lingerie thirty one games in nineteen o six sixty nine hundred sixty nine. It's gotta be considered relatively recent considering the context of the rest of this list. Davis of the los angeles dodgers riccardi nineteen thousand. Nine hundred seventy. He played for the indians during the blood red. I think frank robinson era their flag growth. Thirty one games for the expos back in ninety nine whitmer field was pretty recently. Thirty one game spanning over the eighteen nineteen season. He's the only active player on. This list galvin vais. Dusty miller ehlers over smith true speaker charlie grimm. That's rich berg. Goose goose goslin. Not to be confused. Goose gossage is not a modern era player hears about. Here's some active players. At least as of the twenty one thousand nine seasons pools of thirty game hit streak in two thousand and three mr national ryan zimmerman thirty games in two thousand nine and freddie freeman thirty games in twenty sixteen. That's just remarkable. Mr copies hitting streak there some streaks that are a little more recent to me a little more a little closer to the heart. Orel hershiser fifty nine and a third inning scoreless in one thousand. Nine hundred eighty. Eight dodgers won the world series. That year he'd go onto pitch for the indians in the world series About seven but seven years later exactly seven years later. Bowling green product came from north of came from ohio at least spent his college at ohio. A hall of favor. But i think he's worth look. I didn't mention Sandy alomar juniors on this list. I mentioned jerome walton a lot the rookie of the year out a thirty game hit streak back in one thousand nine hundred nine streaks are hard to come by you talk. You'll things that had been accomplished. You know this is just. This is just general things. Thirty thirty thirty was a huge accomplishment. Jose can say go. Let forty forty and several other players have done it since is being the first so we're gonna have the first player to hit sixty straight games if anybody passes you would you hate for it to be fifty seven or worse yet. I don't know what's worse. Fifty five fifty six or fifty seven. We throw fifty-seven out of the you know the worst the worst of the conversation because then you have a new recordholder you. You have an unbreakable record. Broken fifty six and fifty six is a little underwhelming. Like you know either miss or or or passive you know. Don't don't hit the push then fifty fifty five which just be devastating fifty five years that game better a bed pitch cleanly by the other side better not have walked better not have been pitched around. Somebody better not have got caught. Stealing deny him and had that tended ended any. Probably the game. Baller had the longest streak. What did i say that was thirty. Nine games you'll rick manning who does color for the idiots. Now they show it every time that the indians play the play. The brewers or anytime anybody's got any kind of a significant hit streak. Paul molitor nine thousand nine hundred eighty seven thousand nine hundred eighty seven thirty nine games the night a chance to get forty standing in the on deck circle standing in the circle. As you'll rick manning either drives it or scores. The winning run a decade short every year. But i don't really retain it in. The big joke is up. Manning's a bomb. He ruined bolanders. Hit streak but you know. It just doesn't work out like that. Speaking of cleveland and i speak of cleveland often of course denied a fifty seven game in nineteen forty one..

Orel hershiser thirty games jerome walton Jose Rose thirty Paul molitor Nine games Hal morris Thirty four games freddie freeman Pete forty four games Six games thirty two games Fifty five fifty seven charlie grimm two thousand fifty five years

"Is The guy that probably will stay here. An infielder wearing number thirty six twenty one year old rule five take is not ready for prime time, but the stocks are going to keep them around added. Their organizational depth otherwise has got to be returned to the Astros. Perfect scenario for rule five guy right as short season. The socks aren't really expected to go to a world series. Just had a two run walk off on in an intra squad game. That's Nice, came off the other newly signed Hander Zach Godly. Who will talk about in a moment? Okay! There's still zoo way Lynn. He's at the change uniform numbers he's. He's basically six times better this year. He's from five to thirty. This can be your tenth inning. Pinch runner since there's the new rule about if you're in extra innings, you gotta start with that runner at second base wondering where do it is when you need them or is there Lewis Rodas Nixon but Zu Lynn for now? We'll do Michael Chavez don't forget wearing number twenty three is still in the mix, and there's always charismatic twenty three. It seems I don't know if tom renounced he was charismatic I. Always the Oil Can Boyd certainly. The chief the Ice Horse. Whatever you WANNA. Call them needed. Sixty six games did is I fifteen home runs last year? The quickest pace for a red sox players since the Great Sam, Horn did it in sixty games, but shave one of only six players to have one hundred strikeouts there I. Seventy Games played ever lot of modern guys doing it. Baya's Miguel Sonoda Trevor, story, George. Springer your lawn. When cottage on that list and Chaves in fact Chavis a three strikeout game seven times last year. Ted Williams three times in his entire career about twenty three hundred games. I've said off. This guy ends up being Dan. Uggla I'm fine with that I. Really Am. We should mention a bench player. WHO's not here and that's the Bronx Star like Alice Cooper in the original. Wayne's world. He is now rocking out in Milwaukee Milwaukee. Milwaukee Brewer, they're not worthy of Brock Holt, but a guy that's cast in that mold kind of that scrappy go get a guy here comes Kevin Pollak aware number, five outfielder, who plays with a chip on his shoulder, was a thirty second round draft pick a division school, and the Red Sox getting on a one year deal four point, two, five, million, very familiar, sounding Steve Pearce. Pearce kind of deal was signed on Valentine's Day twenty one homers last year with the giants, and that was a career high, but the on-base percentage has got to get a lot. Better wasn't even three hundred last year. All I know is giants. Fans are checked that this guy is not back. They thought he was really important for their team last year, veteran guy good guy. All right, so we go do some pitching. Let's do some pitching. We mentioned native all the opening day. Starter and former world series cult-hero that helps, but also a guy who yeah last year with flirting with the six CRA. Jake Jillian Hall look alike. I think learned last year. "Shut out to the 707 for doing Cem. Cem. Jorge can tio research do that's exactly what set me off on this. This little diatribe on Saturday was was looking at your thinking about Jorge Cantu thinking they had a little bit of pop. It could hit a little bit. Then I dove into like the great power hitting second baseman. Somebody checked in, said Combs. How about your Coach. How about forever giant Dan Uggla? Dude, I looked up ugly yesterday and I knew ugly hit for power with those Braves teams of Braves teams were scary. He and Jeffrey Encore of the Chipper was still over third. They were dangerous for make Tommy Hanson when he was young. The starter Jonny Venters was at the back end of the bullpen with Eric O'Flaherty and Craig Kimbrel. Those teams were pretty good. But ah, Linkous far as far as the power hitting second baseman, go the guys like Marcus Giles from back in the day, just like Jose Vidro. Those guys were kind of false alarms. Dan Uggla did it for a more consistent period of time. But then he just fell off when you hit a wall, and that was it. He's got like 230 career homers, though still about 145 behind behind our guy, Jeff Kent. 707 checks and says, Why didn't we send Reggie Stocker to be the designated hitter? Maybe for this offseason? Reggie Stalker, of course, a fictional videogame character representing Barry Bonds with the old MVP baseball games on one more here from the 559 says I've been pounding the Jeff Can't drum for years as a kid, I got off of the Jeff Can't wagon. In 2003 when he left and it wasn't even so much that he left there was any left. And then he talked to us about the Giants when he was a Dodger, and it was easy to not like him when he was a Dodger, But once he retired, I was like, you know what? Mary come on back to throw on the cream again. Throw number 21 grow that stash out. He played survivor and one of the great all time lines after he got voted out of Survivor, saying, I believe the line then we can dig it up. They will believe the line was You get voted off. You sit there and you get to do a little. I get 32nd kind of hit a cz. You're as you're after you've been voted out. You sit there and he goes. Ah, said something along the lines of you. I didn't need the money. I just wanted to be a wannabe. Ah, the all time survivor, the ultimate survivor. Whatever. And then he says something like Get it. Six. I don't need the money. I made over, however much millions of dollars playing baseball of many millions, but it's not even a 1,000,000 bucks. It's like 600 K. After Obama takes half of that's out there on his on his way out, which is hysterical, But he floats that out there I was, actually, after we were talking all this Jeff Kent stuff this weekend. I looked at his old like the survivor bio. They do where they asked him a series of questions before they go out there and they're all posted. Like I don't know some Some people magazine or whatever about this upcoming season of Survivor and obviously he's a former ball player. But he's talking about his Southern roots, and now he thinks his Southern roots are going to help him cooking outside and living outside. Now he knows how to do all that stuff was like Southern roots. Is this guy from Southern California shifted from so Cal dude grub? I think we have the sound. Know what pisses me off because I think I've made about $60 million playing baseball and I want this $1,000,000 in this game, and it's not even a 1,000,000 bucks. It's 600 grand by time. Obama takes it I'ma Game seven World Series loser I played in the biggest game in the world in the worst games, world socks. That's.

"I I had enough time catching up to the baseball with a normal swing. I don't know how these people were timing it with all these weird intricacies. That would help them time. It just wasn't a good athlete. Barry, Barry Bonds Sheffield did that because his hands were so fast. That's the reason that he had that. Stan. Yeah. Yeah. No. He had to do it. Low down down. His incredible bats beat. It's the stuff of legend, Gary Sheffield. Did you guys love Gary chef, but I want to be clear on this. Because they've got they've got their little guys like Benito, Santiago, Gary Sheffield's, the best Marlon ever is. He not dare, you know, that's not true. Best hitter Miguel Cabrera. The best hitter. The Marlins have ever. No, no, no. But in terms because he was here long who's here longer. Gary Sheffield Cabrera probably Sheffield, Gary Sheffield's, my favorite Marlin. I don't Mike. I think you had different sensibilities growing up because I think it's more. These guys were arrested distraught to Benito, Santiago. I think you actually people hated Sheffield. I mean Stanton on an MVP for the Moreland. So saying yeah sentence, probably I tell them was wanna say young one year want to definitely one of the more talent. And a lot of people didn't like Hanley. But as far as talent I'd say Miguel Cabrera Hanley or that's why I want plant. Hanley playing shorts. Sheffield is a hundred times the player. Hanley was yes hundred Timea player Sheffield should be in the hall of fame is not just because of that bond stuff. Yeah. But Hanley did win that batting title Jeffrey Loria rewarded them appropriately chore, it I would say I it's Gary Sheffield for me is my number one number two is oddly or he can. I still have a cannot can Cantu t shirt baseball reference doesn't even have Sheffield and all time top twelve players for the Marlins. That's not a Cantu. Not at the top. All you want. Another top twelve. I'll give them to you, Dan. And now, you're asking all right. John Carlos Stanton. Okay. Hanley ramirez. This one you're not gonna like Josh Johnson. Louise, castio Dontrelle Willis yelich Cabrera cliff Floyd Uggla, Kevin Brown. No. In terms of it can't be in terms of excellence. Sheffield's the best guy they've ever had. I don't think baseball reference does things in terms of popularity yelich. As more production than Gary Sheffield. I think this is this is based on war. So y'all has an eighteen point six war Stanton's at thirty five point two war. This is done with analytics right here. Gary Sheffield greatest Moreland baseball. I think I'm done with them to. Yes, he was he was so feared he was the best player on they walked them that entire World Series year. He was terrible. And they walked him every time in the World Series and the playoffs because everybody was terrified of him. You remember that catch that he made in Cleveland huge moment in that playoff series as. One of the top five catches and more Orleans history. You would agree top-five catch? Now. Chuck car has probably all tell five catches was incredible nineteen Ninety-three moorlands recap tape, and there was a whole segment based on cars catches and it had like the best nineties music and grabs. Bring in Stanford in Gundy, he's right now eating some sort of egged sandwich. Ask him his opinion here. He's eating an egg sandwich on camera. Just ask him as opinion. 'cause he's going to have opinions on what we're talking about. Your mic is hot. Go ahead, and give us your opinion. Gary Gary Sheffield Marlins we've been talking about like the greatest Marlin ever, go ahead. Hold on. Listen to Billy's list of Marlins who are better than Gary Sheffield. Go ahead and do it. Okay. This is baseball. References lists to be clear, and it's based on war. So Gary Sheffield not in the top twelve for Marlins franchise history. Number one Stanton. Then Hanley Ramirez then Josh Johnson weeks. Castio Dontrelle Willis Christian yelich Miguel Cabrera cliff Floyd, Dan Uggla, Kevin Brown. Mike Lowell Marcelo Cabrera that low. There that long he didn't play there that long..

Gary Sheffield Gary Sheffield Cabrera Marlins Miguel Cabrera Hanley Barry Bonds Sheffield John Carlos Stanton Hanley ramirez baseball Miguel Cabrera Gary chef Mike Lowell Marcelo Cabrera Barry Josh Johnson Benito Santiago Marlon Dan Uggla Kevin Brown Stan Cantu

"Yeah. Until you were in a hearing trying to decide their salary the first time I met Kevin Gregg was in an arbitration room. And so we started off rough but ended up fine, which I guess is the story of how a lot of things happen with me. But a player that I disliked personally, the most I didn't really I didn't really dislike players person. I guess I would have to say AJ Burnett. I just found him to be selfish. I didn't find him to be a winner that we did end up winning the World Series with the Yankees. I didn't think any team with AJ would ever win. I found him to be selfish when he was younger. But then I realized that he was just immature and a kid, and we were expecting a lot out of him. There were other players who disappointed me and my biggest disappointment without lighter. We brought him in and oh five to anchor a staff after we signed Delgado's thought, we'd possibly, you know, make another run after three, and he was an absolute mess, and I know is hero down here and a good guy and charitable guy. He was a disaster. He stole eight million dollars from us from Jeffrey not for me. And he and he he just stunk. And we ended up releasing him that season that disastrous season. So I'd say he's my number one biggest disappointment and all my degree. Where the glasses during the arbitration hearing now. So we've got some great arbitration story, Cody rocky took conversation. Remember, Cody Ross the player. Yes. So we went to retrain with him because he's wanted to see what it was like, and he knew that he didn't care win or lose. 'cause it was just a couple of hundred grand, and we were passing notes to each other and bending text or any arbitration, and it was driving MLB and the MLB which is the players visitation. They were so pissed because you're supposed to be angry with the player and the player's supposed to be angry with you. And we were laughing, Dan Uggla, and I almost got kicked out of our arbitration because we were laughing so much. We almost. That the arbitrators had tell us to behave. You have any good Uggla stories. Just give us give us good luck Uggla story because he's I mean, he should have been going into the batter's box with a heater in his mouth. He should've just been smoking cigarettes, and he should have been allowed to wear a uniform with rhinestones on again is one of the funniest guys who you'll play with. We got him as a rule five. Just he was he was nothing, and he came and all of a sudden he started hitting a lot of home runs. And I remember that that all star game, but the greatest fan ugly stories he actually told me and this is before he was married. I think although he made in marriage was first wife, but I don't want to start any rumors, but he would say to me that he plays better partying all night and not sleeping, and he ended up being right until he got older, and we talked about the fact that once you're older it actually the rebound is harder. And you've got to try. To get a little sleep. But for a while he was capable of partying more than any player. We had never gotten trouble. No DU is no nothing. But he was able to get it done in a way that I'd never seen before. Mike. Why Mike Mike Ryan partied with Uggla once at automatic slims and forty five minutes in ended up face I and a curtain..
