"Who's everybody's doing bad. You get one. That's got you. Yeah, yeah. Bad, Okay, his award winning stuff right there by that one member from Mackey. Okay back to the Giants, and we have Gabe Kapler on a park bench. Oddly enough, and he had Farhaan in a more civilized indoor setting. I'm talking to the media about the year and I will tell you as a guy who was very sceptical as to hiring Gabe Kapler. He did better than I thought he would. Assed faras for Hans idea. Remember, I kept thinking. I'm waiting for these dazzling moves and what I found out is that he's going to do him just one drip at a time. One drip at a time and pipes it to us earlier this week, he said. So the lesson I've learned from far honey, I can't ignore the Iand moves When Drew Smyly signs in December. I don't yawn anymore. When Kevin Gausman signs in December. I don't yawn anymore. When they trade Franklin Van Group for Alex Dickerson. I don't yawn anymore. Everything for Han does. Has the potential to have immediate impact. Even this year when they signed. Who was it? Justin Smoak. He was in you need like a day later, Right? And who was the other one Copes Dan Robertson Robertson, right? Who got picked off the Tampa Bay. I mean, it's so Farman is just you just gotta watch his every move. No move to small was the mantra. He gave it to us, Eh? So we go in with that knowledge would go into the sound from yesterday. And thanks to water boy for cutting this up, Gabe Kapler, I guess guys looking forward to it. I mean, you could literally say they'd be you know, every team could say, what if what if what if, but You could literally say if they had a better closer situation. They'd be playing right now because of the Trevor got situation, etcetera. So here's Kapler on the closer situation. You know, this is something member. I heard Tolbert. Talk to him about this. Before the season. I was driving home from playing golf back pre pandemic and he was saying gave him you don't have a closer and campers like I'm really glad you brought that up. Let's talk about this, Tom. He's like sea. So here's my situation. He talked about pockets of lineups like pitch your best guy in the seventh inning if their best fighters are coming up. That's what a closer should be, Tommy, you know, responded. I disagree. Capital. I'm really glad you disagree, because now we can have this conversation. And so here's Kappler. Now that it's all said and done on the closer situation. Yeah, I think we had a mixed bag when he came to the ninth inning. I think there are plenty of opportunities to go around. And I thought many of our relievers did a nice job handling those opportunities in a perfect world. You have Relievers slot into roles that dependable to them about just wasn't the way our roster was designed. And so we had guys like Tony Watson Rogers Harlan Garcia. And others will meaningful pitches for us in the ninth inning and do a really nice job. Yeah, And so that's really all I summarize what went on. Late in games from our bullpen, So I said, I didn't have a closer you want If I didn't believe he and farmers super tight, I would say he's throwing for hunt under the bus. He's like, Well, that's what my roster was designed. I didn't have one. But I know he and far on our best East. So that's not the case. Farhaan. What about you? Dude? What? What's the story on your closer situation? As the year went on, I thought one thing that the staff did really well was You know, even without defying, seventh inning, eighth inning, ninth inning Guy Group, Um you know, they did a really great job of letting our relievers know what parts of the lineup they might be facing. What general part of the game They'd be coming into. And so you saw some consistency with that? I mean, you know, most guys will tell you whether it's the seventh or eighth inning doesn't matter. But just what part of the game I mean, you know, being sort of a quote, unquote late inning guy and getting Paul down in the fourth or fifth. You know, that could be a little bit disruptive. So you know, I thought our levers were great about being flexible. But I also thought our staff did a nice job kind of defining some parameters when guys would get used, which would make him more comfortable. Okay, well, this to me is probably the biggest thing going forward right? How they manage the bullpen who they have in the bullpen. Do they have a closer Do you not have a closer Do you continue to mix and match because You could say that mixing and matching gave you mixing and matching results. It was mixed results some good, some bad and Like it or not, If you're not gonna have the starters that they don't have is the success of a Farhaan Capital team is going to be defined by their bullpen. And you know the argument against slotting guys in Cops. I hate to rip open this wound. But 02 World Series. People wonder why Dusty stuck with Felix Morel and then in his in their roles when maybe shouldn't have right 789 against, I would. Actually I would dispute more that the rotation was out of whack. But, yeah, I think that's all I just got all comes into play. That's the one that really set coat. That's his NFC championship game right there. That's because what was what was live on doing in Game three, then Game seven. You know, I mean, like, you should've had this guy set up to pitch Game four. So he threw one time and then you could have used him in relief instilled with a reader dusty out there winning a Minnesota where his parka and the cold you still see the man who who screwed up Theo to rotation. Yeah, I mean, I don't I don't look at him like that, because he gave us so much out like, I don't know. Yeah, that was the one chance and it's a great question. He didn't get a shot 93, but he may have crapped the bed on 93. You know, that's like looking at Bill Walsh and blaming him for the 87 lost of the Vikings. Right. Oh, damn it well and that I'll return tables on Mirko. Real quick watching someone turned the tables. Murphy when you talk to Roger Craig, Do you see the fumble? Or do you see one of the great Niner running backs of all time? That extra? You know what, your Honor. Ah, objection. Your Honor. Be misleading question my own recognizance yet? Objection. Your Honor. I have to go to the bathroom. Yeah, exactly. There's far. Here's far out on the bullpen overall again. This is it. This is what's gonna have to get better. Yeah, I mean, just in terms of the bullpen. Overall, we talked a lot about the importance of development this year. And getting some young guy some opportunities. And, you know, we saw that with our bullpen. We had some guys step up on DH have really nice years, but anytime you're relying on, you know, Some youth and relative inexperience in the bullpen. You know it's inevitable that there some bumps in the road, so I think all these guys be much better for the experience. We're really excited to bring So much of that group back next year and We're gonna look for every way to improve the roster going into 2021, certainly adding, you know, veteran armor to the bullpen is something will be open to.

"Did him and he was in a little scuffle early at 2nd and 3rd 1 out in the first huge strike out of Charlie Blackmon. And then he walked the leadoff hitter in the second inning, and I was wondering. Oh, does he have it and absolutely had he put it back together? Five and a third. Nice outing. Here's Kappler on a guy who might be pitching. This weekend to determine the playoffs, Drew Smyly. Yeah, No, I thought I thought droop now and set the tone. Even though the first inning wasn't easy. He demonstrated that he had good stuff right from the start, continued to show that that good velocity on his fastball, not his best curveball location early on, but Continue to throw and I got a better feel for it as a game moved on on then you know, there's some nice cars is certainly a boost to the club to see him come out like that for us. We weren't sure how far he was going to be able to take us today. So it was Nice to get probably a little bit deeper into begin. Then, then we would have suspected coming off his last outing, where he only got up four times. We've pushed him as far as we could go with. That was a good tone center for us. Yeah, there's a huge to me was a huge effort. And I just thought maybe kinda like I'm like That guy was on the 2012 tigers that face that's crazy. That's crazy to think about. Yeah, yeah, And then he was out of baseball in 2017 18 with Mike was saying That could be your 12 playoff punch right there. Gausman and Ah and Smiley. Could it have got the swing and miss stuff? He was soon and you know where he was Last year? I was in Philly. Yeah, you know, just to make them even crazier, right? So then, and of course, the lineup last night 10 hits two bombs AA and and then to be able to pull it Dickerson off the bench and full of belt off the bench. That was a pinch hit to his big two run double was a pinch it so Kappler on this lineup that just hits the ball in San Francisco. Well, I think we also are really happy with our our lineup against left handed. Pitching is nice, sometimes to be able to throw on entirely right handed lined up out there, and I know that Even though they have AH, strong pitcher and a guy like free one out there on the mound, and we have a T sta platoon ID badge up and down the lineup. So that's a plus. On the flip side. Obviously, when Dick is running about like this, and Lt is just been so good at the plate all year long and cross well, so that that's that's also encouraging such a great year thus far, and those guys will be Parts of the lineup that we lean on going forward. Righty tonight. Castellani. So you know is extreme ski back? Probably not. Maybe I don't know. But you know, you see Belton Crawford back in there tonight and Dickerson, of course now, meanwhile, again. Four on no move to small XIII. That's that. That's the slogan man, Daniel Robertson. Now the ace hands knowing he was a big draft pick, But then they shipped him to Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay. So that's enough. We've seen enough man were they release him for Hunt swoops in grabs. The guy sends him to Sacramento for a couple days. Now they call him up, and here he is. He's playing big innings in a in a quote unquote playoff race again it It's not really a play. I know but it but it's something. Yeah, that's all you got. You know, it's all we got right over that sound we had in cooler content. About five months ago, That guy was playing fortnight and his girlfriend just snatched out of his hand. Right member he goes. Because it's all you D'oh hears. So I have that kind of all we have right now. Is that plaintiff? He goes, It's all I have The sadness. Yeah, well cry cry in the night. In terms of this playoff race, it's only we have. It's all we have. So Daniel Robertson playing short last night because he's a righty against the lefty, But then besa be tweaked his hamstring and you have no Yes, you can't place later and you have no Dickerson and so they tell Dan Robertson Dude, you got to go out there and play left field. Now he's only played six games in left field is very is great Pole. Once more poly. Yeah. Yeah, This is incredible is a guy He's like 25 years old to be said Now this back way, Paul, This is like April. This is shelter in place. Big. Ah, yeah. Yeah. Here it is. No,.

"You guys have made a new year's is amazing. A wooden wheel versus a supersonic jet. You know today. No question to it did it all. And it's all thanks to the genius of our creative department. I gotta shut him out. Because I know the dude I was. I was ah, prehistoric man trying to light a match, but his talent was there. The talent no left. It was just a matter of Ah, Polish. It's amazing. These guys are like the Phil specter of sports radio. So creative Tony, and by the way I talked to create actually spoke. To him yesterday for the first time in ages so much My only of point is to make today Murph to you. Is that creative? Tony question Mark. He lives He lives on He's alone. Guess who. Fantasy football Week three is mid segment reads versus Hayman. O, okay, I'm rattling the bottles Probably come out and play in. The reaction is he is he is nothing right now. Hes laying low awfully low lately. So last night was the master stroke of the Kappler Farhaan belief, which is a got a guy named Dan Robertson, who basically Was out of baseball released in the giant's picked him up. They put him on the club, right. Here's the deal. They start him last night a shortstop right because it's a lefty going right, then, at a certain point, because besotted pulls a hamstring, they run out of outfielders. They got to put this guy in left field. Okay, so he goes out to left field and what happens in a 21 ball game, The kid Hampson for the Rockies, ropes of ball in the left field. He can run, so he's turning. He's turning hard. He's digging for to Dan Robertson out in left field. He's never seen this in a big league game before he's never had Charge a single and left and throw to second to try to cut down a runner. And he does. He comes up throwing Solano with a nice tag, and and that is just kind of like And the very next inning in the bottom of that inning. Robertson is due up and they pinch hit Dickerson for him, and he hits the bomb. So that little like hole in the lineup. Robertson in the seven whole going shortstop, leftfield put out and then pinch hitting Dickerson for him. That's like If you look at the Farhaan model, that's it right there. That's it at its best. So here's Kappler on that play. I mean, Robertson throwing out Hampson arguably the play the game. You know, it's a It's a really tough play, so I've been Spend a lot of time with the infielders just kind of receiving throws and watching how their ball carries just catching balls at first base, so been seen Robertson throw across the diamond Boaz Tonic, Harry. He's got a really, really good arm. I mean, you could get rid of the ball quickly, so that play was tailor made for him. Did a nice job having not played much outfield, especially recently to get around that baseball like you didn't put himself in a position to make that throw obviously really big moment in the game. And play that that's actually quite difficult. Having been out there there myself. I know how difficult that players and he really set himself up to be able to make that play by positioning himself well and get his momentum moving toward second base. The baseball play by a baseball player. We did water boy. Find Tell Waterboy find that Amy G thing We're Dickens. It was a hell of a lot of good ballplayers. Yeah, Ballplayers says That's a perfect answer from him. Or he might have said baseball players will have to get the sound of ball players is better. The point is, is that Robertson? You know, go Goto left and go make the play of the day. Very, very cool, man. Very cool. Here's the deal. That's the win. Giants get it. And the bottom line is this They go in to tonight with a chance. The Reds Brewers game will result in one of those teams losing and if the Giants win tonight, they could move into the eight seed and then control their destiny and then control their destiny from there, so good stuff. Okay, let's take a quick break. We'll get ready for the power hour coming up. But we do have some jet McKinnon sound the Niners upon what I want to start turning your mind towards beating Big Blue. I can tell you're second mention today and I'm ready. I'm ready to fall. Well, I mean, ever since your birthday and the Sims you know, the drawing lines have been drawn. Birthday, man, M E and G Hang the battle lines have been drawn with Phil Simms danced on your all these three. Phil Simms. I think you do. Thank you Do in preschool dead, Peter. You know, I mean, we need to take down Big blue this weekend. Yeah, No, Absolutely. It's its's. Have you heard from him yet? By the way? None. I told you when the Giants suck. He distances himself. Hello? Yeah, I don't care. They suck is what he says. Well, I already know what's gonna happen. So I expected nine ish toe. Hang a lot of points on this team, right? They're going to beat the Is there going to be the nick the quick and jet McKinnon and I don't know. Most hurt and no, Jimmy and no eternal along the way we're going to be okay. We're gonna be okay. Nick. Save your takes for the other side as that on the clock because, Okay, you got it. Man. Just wanted it to be right back to being one of 45 and 6 80 these sports later. For, say, a pioneer. "Of ponder it live and you just kind of jumped right there. There is, I was thinking Does this go all the way back? It's got right. Does this go all the way back to the Heidi game? Yeah, I And also I think there was a game if I'm not mistaken, Murph in the early eighties. Remember like those New York sack exchange jets with Marty Lines and gas to know and collect go, I believe The those Jets played the Raiders in the playoffs, and I think they beat him. Actually, I think the Jets beat the Raiders in the play offs like an 80 to act out in l A. There was a year I remember this. There was a year the Jets went to the FC Championship and lost to the Dolphins and the reign. It was the year that the Dolphins went. I think it was the year they went and played the Redskins in the Super Bowl. Maybe 80 was any threes. 80 82 season? Yeah. Strike? Yes. And that was the Raiders was at the Raiders in l. A that year. Here we go. I got I got yes, Playoff. Here we go. The Jets and the whole look of this. The Jets in the reader's actually played as recently as Oh, too. In the playoffs, leaders got him 30 to 10. Then they played him. No one in the playoffs. Raiders got 38 24. They played back to back times in 0102 in the rich Gannon years. Right? Right, Paul, but the one you're talking about 00 no. 68 was the last 10. I'm wrong. They didn't play the planet was Ono. So here's the deal. There's the Heidi game. And then there's the 68 a F C championship game. Yeah, Raiders 27 23 to go onto win Super Bowl three. Right There you go. So there is some deep Of deep seated history. Just want to make sure we've got that out there that I never like Broadway. Joe. It's a Yeah, because they told him not to wear that fur coat animals have Robbie's too. Probably did, like, show name of accident like his style. Yes, wagon. He's got swagger. 49 40. Niners Jets history, Dude, I mean, do you remember the Jets come in here and 2016. You don't think about this 20 development. Not really. Levi's Stadium. Vaguely Very Niners Got the and the Niners got the wind and 20. Who was? Who was it? Tom Scola, that ship We know that was chip. It was Kyle in his fourth year, Polly Kind of No, no, no, no. No. Thousands column is 30 or 30 years, So it was who immediately preceded we'll chip. No, his ship wasn't sure who was before It was chip before Tom Tom Sibyl, and that was Tom Solo and then Chip Kelly Harbaugh went through 2014. Then Tomsula was 2015 and then ship Anyway that night. How about us? Not even remembering? Yeah, although it's a blackout period again Now the Jets beat the Niners in overtime at Levi's. Do you remember? I do. I kind of do. Niners haven't been back to face the Jets since 2012. The Niners got him. 34 zips. That's Kaepernick. Right, right. 34. And then prior to that the Niners went back there and 04 and got him and lost to him. 20 to 14. That's a bad neither team that's a real blackout period. Yeah, yeah, but from our day Polly from our heyday of the eighties, miners went back there in October of 89 when they were rolling 23 10 in the early 96 Remember John Taylor got 31 14 in 92. That's the one I remember. Yeah, but you know, it's funny. You mention that 89 win 23 to 10 over the Jets at the Meadowlands. Actually, within the metal is an 89. Yes, Yeah, yes, eyes that one of the things that came out of that 40 Niner zoom I did the other night was, Carmen said. We're going through each Super bowl year and just going through all the stories. And Carmen said, And he got Ronnie to verify Sethi 89 team, he said, was by far the most fun, least stressful year they ever had in the straight 20 year. Run. Yeah, everyone every other year had stress that angst had tension had pressure. He said. For whatever reason, you know whether it was Bill was gone. George was in. Ah, Montana was at the peak of his powers. You know, the roster was bulletproof. Jerry was Superman. They just felt great. Well, they all year and they that's That's the year they went to the playoffs and just annihilated everybody in their path That's here. They beat the Rams 32 3 in the NFC championship, and then they just destroyed the Broncos. I mean, they they have, like such little resistance from the from other other teams in the league in the postseason, that it just felt like they just kind of walked through everybody to NFC Championship over the ramps. Yet they destroy him with which was 30 to 3. 32 3. Yeah, 33. I mean, so just go back and call if you need to, like, you know, I was talking about having trouble sleeping the other night and how to do a meditation app. Maybe if if you were I ever have trouble sleeping, Maybe just put your hand there thinking about the 89 9 hours. 32 3. It's just completely relax you He's taking just transported to this super calm and happy place. Yeah, in a week and the week before that, If my memory serves me, I think they had. Also they really roughed up the Vikings. They beat the Vikings by double, which they don't get enough because I'll never I'll never get enough bits of revenge for 87 like last year was still felt Great, because ah ah inviolate copes Text me this Kyle's fourth season. Snuck up on us it is. Let's see some 20 year. One was Hoyer. Jimmy hurt? Yeah, three was the bowl. So Yeah. Anyway, we're ready for the game. And And how could I not mention Polly. Here is the biggest thing for me about the Giants yesterday. Go. They're down for the one after two innings. Oh, yeah. And I was 100% certain they're gonna win the game because you know, there's an offensive explosion coming at some point. Yes, on its fun, fun. Fun to be giant fan right now. I'm still having trouble processing it. Yeah, I really enjoy it. Don't question it, Dude. Just let it happen. You know, I'm not questioning it. I'm just I I'm out of my head. Wow. They're pounding the ball pounding the ball. Does it mean Don't take my ass away, though. You just telling you right now. Don't take my as well taking yet. I'm wondering now, if it's all sorts of new guys, you know whether it's Dan Robertson who contributed last week, and now you got bus Obey Pali coming in. I know I feel I want to have to turn around and possibly songs that that last name is very musical domain begging for a song your job, something something sort of Brazilian or conga conga rhythm. Just orjust a beach boys. Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, Bob, you know something? Oh, see, I knew I just want to roll it out there. See what you had going Be. They've won seven straight at that yard in two of them as the road team, some cocaine baby. The only thing missing is us the fans and that's like the worst part of this because I would be so great to be going through it with this team at the yard and like, seemed like it would be it would be sweeping the fans up, Lloyd. Oh, fans would be loving this man. It really would. So now he's gotta watch him from fans of the sorry Murphy had fans. The Browns game last surprised, confused. I was used by the mixed messages there, so I didn't know that they were on the list. I thought there was only I didn't know they were one of the team's doing it. I was surprised. I thought Ohio was a little bit more, and we're going to Ohio. Polly. All bets are off. You get to Ohio. All bets are off for dead in Ohio. Yeah, you go in the boys from Youngstown. In fact, that was commented on in that 81 went over the Steelers that they talked about so much. For Carmen and Eddie. You know, being Youngstown guys, this Naylor's were everything right? Because you're not talking like a 45 minute drive from Youngstown, Pittsburgh. I think so. The Steelers were just deities, you know, and for Scrappy little Niners to go in there and knock out Steelers at three Rivers ball. What's What's the population of a Youngstown? I've never been top of my head. I'm going to say, 100. I'm going to go to 100 K top of my head, but I'll look it up. 201 of you say, 100. I stayed to watch just a guest in our report. Your boy. "But, yeah, I mean, let's think we've got to remember that this is a completely different season, a completely different playoff format so that that changes the calculus a little bit. That's very true. Very true. And I guess getting back too far on again. Is this what we're learning here about? You know, almost 1.5 years in killing the 60 game is that he told us on day one. Ah, Andy. I was sitting there with you in that room. The Nick Peters press room, right? Is that what they call it? The neck leaders interview tomorrow. And we asked him about his philosophy. And he said, there's no move too small and I was like, okay, but it actually is a million times on the radio. He really meant it because all the moves that have changed the team. Four teams that were is Mike Yastrzemski. Ah, minor league pitcher. You've never heard of Alex Dickerson, a guy named Van Group. You know Dan Robertson and disobey off the scrapheap. Darren rough from Korea. Is that sort of just mean there's not going to be this three way trade that gets you, Kevin Mitchell and Dave Dravecky, right? Yeah. I mean, they use 64 players last year, the National League record, and I think the thought process was, you know, the more the more Ah River water. We can sluice through that pan, the more flecks of gold we might be able to find and maybe drop a nugget in there. To get lucky, and they found Mike extremes. He's a guy who was the impact player that they were looking for through all that other turn and all those other guys and if you want to do something fun, go on sparkle and take the quiz Human. How many of the 64 players? You can? Oh, god, you could get a really good one. But, yeah, you know, it's it's It was the process last year of tearing through the back into the 40 man roster and basically grabbing anyone who might be better than what you have, and I think they evaluated that they had a lot of room for improvement. So you saw that kind of player movement. And, you know, I don't think they were gonna do that anyway as much this year, But then the pandemic obviously. No moving bodies around unless it's really necessary is not something you want to dio. So you know, we haven't seen that kind of player turn, but we have seen small adjustments. I mean, obviously Hunter Pence didn't work out. His bats are going to somebody else now. Ah, other other moves and deal on Davis started with the team. Joe McCarthy started with the team. It didn't work out for them early on, but they had other places they captivity, too, you know, and guys have gotten the opportunity have made the most of it. And then you start folding in brain and belt getting as hard as he's been in his career over a 25 game stretch and bringing Crawford starting to have some productive that's never Longoria put a few balls on the seats, too. And And yet it's the kind of team where you don't have to ride the same star every night for the same two stars because it's the production's coming from a lot of different places, and you know it's hard for us because we're not in the club house this year really understand the dynamic there. But you know, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of tension and friction. There's there's a lot that was asked these guys to buy in from bike. Gabe Kapler. He didn't have a regular spring. He didn't have a regular ramp up. Ah, but they're clearly pushing the right buttons right now. They sure are and ah, couple guys to wor Were leftovers from the Bobby Look a Tyler Rogers and Caleb Aragorn. These are two guys who were drafted by the Giants way back when so they've been in the system in the boat Sierra in the in the in the Bobby Evans era. And I'm wondering if they don't know, I guess is a hypothetical but I'm wondering if the giant if Farhaan and his crew get credit for identifying those guys or if you thought those guys would have been Part of the Giants future anyway, because they went down and picked those guys who were in the minors. And I know Burger was probably a surprise to all you guys in all of us, right? I mean, yeah, He pitched really well last year, but he wasn't a guy who was in big league camp in the original spring training was added to the player pool late, But once he got to that summer camp You know, I went out and watched a few of those workouts. All you had to do was watch him throw from life, BP and you're like, Wow. You know, this guy has a really nice farming go. He's got good stuff. He's got a big opinion curveball, and he throws pretty hard from the left side. You know, little Max effort guy and maybe command is a question mark, but His stuff will play against major league hitters. He only needed to see him a couple times out to really realize that and then I think that the other enticement to start him on opening day or at least on the roster was that they knew that the Dodgers really hadn't seen him very much. And he did have the element of surprise to, you know, throw amount out of them a couple times, and I think that also played to their advantage. So yeah, you know, I think that the credit is is for the people who drafted that those players and and also the credit to the people who Provided them with the innings, whereabouts to get thie opportunities to further their skills..

"Pretty bad. Santino was 16 and six and now we went five and 16 now 500 team. In danger of going below. And this is not acceptable. Cashman was there today. You need somebody like the boss. The sword interview with George Steinbrenner. Guy sent me and he said he put his foot through television sets. We got to get mad, right, Santino, We got to get mad. You can't accept this. Right, buddy. Tell him Wake up, Need to wake up. Ah, I forgot that he did sneak in one in front of his grandson right in front of the grandstand, writes anti. No. You know what I love is that he truly believes like Farhaan is the ultimate scientist. He's like we're not delaying well right now. So let's go Pick up Dan Robertson and Luis Posada and no knickers. One put a foot to a TV. You got a hit, man. You've got to get right buddy. I mean, seriously like the total of the difference in team Spark. Farhaan is like just You know, we're just gonna move Barrack her up to the sixth inning and no, no, no, but a foot through it. Davey. Ah, It's so good. So good. Okay, So you guys know Leonard Fournette? Of course. The big star running back out of l s U goes to Jacksonville in the top five pick but falls on. Ah, discord in Jacksonville. They can't rid of him. He lands in Tampa Bay with touchdown. Tommy Brady And here's where you land with Tommy, and you start feeling a little cocky. Here's Leonard Fournette dissing all his old quarterback. Last thing just me coming. A temple made perfect sense. You know, I feel like the head all the keys that I need it. And vice versa. I could help the team on also, they could help me. You know, I think it's probably one of my first seasons running Probably six man box, which is a small fun on me, you know, and I made sure all that was a consideration when we come here. The football's football playing the same game for 25 years. And for the first time I left I would really have a quarterback. That's album for me. And not a lot of pressure comes comes is gonna come on me. I'm a man. Oy, Poor Blake. Bortles, huh? Yeah. How about a little love for the double B right before big portals and poor Here's again. AMC championship game with borders too, didn't it? Ah, today and pushy had folds for four games. Remember the year the Niners beat Amon on Christmas Eve. The game Paulie's always talks about. He was down there. See, what happens is they get around Brady, Polly, and they start following news and say, Get seduced by touchdown. Tommy, right. Did you see sent copes this thing last night? You see Brady sent out his little is a cute little social media thing last night, Polly. No, no. What is it was Listen, I know Tom seniors listening and you know, we love Tommy and we are closer. I have nothing but great things to say about the second greatest quarterback of all. Yeah. So, um, so he sent out a thing. Last night, A little Polly sent out a little camp letter from home. It's on his Instagram says, Dear Mom and Dad campus, and it's written in kids fought like already. I might not see already already here, Mom and Dad camp is winding down has been a hot summer, but I've got a nice tan and I like to play football, so I can't complain. Exclamation point It's a picture of him going back to pass. The second frame is him and Chris Godwin and he says in kids, crayons, Grail, my friend Chris is really fast. I think he will make me look really good, awful and then into Picture three is him and his team running off the field says in Cram, it says, Are you going to going to visit and see me play in my new stadium? Friends? I want you to meet her and then in number four, it's a picture of him and Byron Leftwich. My friend Byron is really smart. He always knows what to say. When I get frustrated. You got it, Tommy. He always tells me I said, it's a coping, Marcus. You know what I wrote Paulie Blank, I wrote. You know, Joe Montana never did this to you. "Valorous beside they can get him. He's one of the better defenders in actually West. I mean, he's that's why he's here. He's here. For that reason they made a tough call yesterday. When they when they sent Daniel Robertson back to Sacramento that that was a big give Or the giant because they you know they were using him. They needed him. He was able to spell Crawford Shorty could play anywhere in the infield using great. Go up. And, uh, but because later they want his bad up here, and Slater's arm is such that you can't play the outfield. They need an outfielder who could do exactly what the sob did go in there and play defense. And Lo and behold, there was a gap for hitting left center and, you know, he took off like a skull, that ass bird and he got to that ball like I've never seen before. And if it was Dickerson and rough out there, there's no way they have none chance. So that's a big plane. 11 ball game. He gets that ball becomes Justin out, and, uh, so bottom line is You've got to give some credit and a hat tip. Gabe Kapler. He's playing this team like it's Ah, fine tuned fiddle and Ah, And while we're at it, you know how about tipping the captives to his coaches? Then there's 13 of them. Guess what? It's working. Good capitalists. These guys he lets him coach. They got a good thing going down there and and they get they get the whole team full of guys that are believing it. And you know this is a the transition time is over transition time for the manager to learn the talent. To be able to apply what he has out there over and we're watching him do it. He's pulling the right strings. He's he's He's making the right moves, and they are confident and you have to pay it. If you're a Giants fan like I've had this in my own house, people in my family saying, Who's that guy? Who's that guy like Dan Robertson and Louise possible? These are two guys. You better pay attention to the moves Because there you gotta be there. Maybe guys showing up on the field. You're not quite sure you've got to be a seam head now to keep up with Franz and these guys will get in the games. Mike s O. That's kind of a new deal. It's not just that, you know, we're not keeping the same guys. There may be a move for this Syriza for that Siri's and Robertson and disobey our classic examples. Two guys have been showing up on the field in this In this homestand. Who? You? Basically I don't want to say never heard of, but you kind of never heard of, you know. Yeah, And you know what you really way have said a word about Sacramento at all. We haven't said a word about what's happened at the auxiliary camp, and we really should. Because these guys are coming up and they're they're tuned. They're ready to go. And Ah, and that is hard to do When you don't have games, you've got to create a situation you've got to create, uh, the ability to succeed and fell and and have quality of that. And these guys are coming in and there but they've been ready. So I mean something. We've taken a long time to acknowledge. But folks down there and check mental they're they're killing it right now. I wonder how much the Padres and Dodgers I mean, I know you've told us many times over the years, a man every major league team respects every other Major league team. These are major league players. This is the show right? There's no easy game per se. But the Giants were you know, as you said at the start, not considered to be a contender. They were not at all I want and I'm just speculating. Now There's no way for you to probably enter this hypothetical but just for fun. I wonder if the Dodgers and Padres air taken note. Of what the Giants are doing, you know? Oh, absolutely 100%. I mean, you're in tune with what's going on The division. You see who's hot? Who's not? Giants knew that the Mariners were Ah 60, no team the last six games coming into the serious so You know you take you take him seriously. Which, look, you have to do that. Anyway, It doesn't matter. It's the bigwigs. Everybody's very capable of light you up. If you you know that pitch 13 years. I know one time everyone into a start thinking it was slammed up. Not one time just because it's the big leagues and anything can happen. The difference between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Giants right now is chemistry. You've got. You've got 28 guys believe that they have a chance to win. And that's not the case in Arizona. Do they still have big leaguers? Absolutely. Do the big leaguers getting that blocks and make a personal compete? Oh, hell, yes. So I mean, it's still means something significant when you have a good night against a team like that, even if they're not playing well. And even if they're they're not high in the standings. But the Padres and the Dodgers are looking exactly what's in front of them and not only in the regular season, but in the playoffs as well. They're starting to think about. Well, we're going to play this team in the playoffs mean what? What is it? What's what makes him what is it about them? That's good. What? What is it that we need to be aware of? Absolutely. It's goes on. That's why you know there is a 60 game schedule. Then there's a month of playoffs. Whoever plants of flag at the end they're not gonna feel elected. Came music at all. And it's not It's going to be ah, really year It's going to be a real accomplishment and and whoever is the last person standing the last team standing, they will have earned it. Well, John, you haven't told by the way. Just last note. Carrie Carly Put out a tweet. Mike, Mike, Extreme Ski. Donovan Solano, Alex Dickerson, Darren Rough and Harlan Garcia. Those air five critical. Pieces to this run, and Crowley pointed out each one of those guys was acquired on a minor league deal. A waiver claim or a trade for cash or non top 30 prospect. Nice so So we've now learned Kind of, you know, this is far. Hans Diehl. It ain't going to be. He's not trading for Kevin Mitchell and Dave Dravecky, like Al Rosen did Right. He's gonna be, he told us Mike on day one. We asked him about his Flossie goes well, there's no move too small. And when he started doing it the first you moves they're making. I was joking, like, boy, He really means it because these are all really tiny moves, you know, and look, Look at this. Here's the Here's the result. Right. Exactly, And why were handed out accolades mean we really need to acknowledge the job. Four on has done the job That's got here. Stone in the job that the front office in the scouting department and, uh, the baseball ops have done. It's It's been remarkable in its happened quickly. It has happened..

Ah oh, don't want while the real lyric and then lick it up is Paul Stanley the star child, Murphy says I don't wanna wait til you know me better. Okay? My lyric says I don't wanna wait. Get the lefty batter. Okay. Okay. Okay. Lefty Battery patents six today against the left, even though now he is four at bats against a lefty this year, and he has a bomb actually living right? Batting seventh. Here's our guy, Joey Bart, three knocks last night. Keep it coming. Joey was ready for this. Batting eighth is one of these things is just like, Obviously it's my kids were saying, Listen, Who is this guy? Dad said, Well, you're not alone. Well, Dan Robertson is playing short today. Right. And this is easily the counting. Unless you're a hard core seem head. You fall the transactions. Last week, The Giants picked this guy up after the Rays had waved him. And then they sent her to Sacramento. And I just thought, Well, whatever. And then they called him up. And now they're starting him. Today s O. This is very far on very, very far foreign field himself now by throwing in Dan Robertson because this guy was not performing for the Rays, former A's first round draft pick, actually. And then one little note on him is that he's super tight with Matt Duffy. Okay, said he and Duffy and Tampa together and in fact, Robertson told reporters, he said, I'm going back to the house that Matt Duffy built. Oh, no way. Yeah, but it's kind of nice quote there. And then that night. Just a guy has just been kind of gliding slightly under the radar. This year's is Mauricio du Bon in center field. Yeah, he's not a bad center fielder. He got some yesterday and he was out of the area and then Logan Webb on the hill. That's for your 10 out of 13 giants. In fact, for the nine o'clock around, they frequently don't here. We always fire these bullets early and never come back. But come on now. Final score. Historic final score. Giants 23 Rocky's five So good, so good. Unless you missed it. "On these sports leader. And of course, it is tomorrow night that the the series will continue between the warriors and rockets and all kinds of wonderful angles. And things to talk about let's do that. With Matt Thomas who is a a host in Houston in a part of the rockets broadcast team as well. And in fact, I'm mad. I'm reading stuff about you. That includes both public address and radio play by play for the team. I'm pretty sure you can't do that at the same time. What what do you got going on out there? It's so funny that you bring that up because I get asked all the time. We have a longtime television announcer. Bill o'r- algae is basically the John Miller for the giants and Bill has cut back his travels, Goliath, three years. He only does games. Okay. A regular radio home guy. Craig Ackerman flips to television during the regular season. And then I go to radio. So I do the P eight home games to play by play on the road for the radio except this time of year where everything is national television, and I shipped over to color commentary alongside Craig so Craig and I work together this time of year, and we'll do that again tomorrow at oracle. But yeah, it's it's a little confusing, and I would say probably the most interesting broadcast combination in any of the professional sports. That's for. Yeah. Do you ever show up to the game? And and you had the wrong gigs set for that day where you're like, oh, I'm I'm doing I'm doing play by play who was doing PA. We'll put it this way. Either yell at eighteen thousand people on the radio with a lot of words or just a lot of made baskets on either side and eighteen thousand dollars yelling at me and then the arena, so it's funny because I really love doing play. That's my first love. But it's just knows me more for my PA because you know, I've gone viral a couple of times people see many arena in pictures, and I have specific things that I say, so it's it's a great great combination. But I get the best of both worlds enjoy doing being colts. I am at home games. And then I travel with the team in work games around. The league is also fun. It really cool. I mean, I don't think many PA guys get that opportunity. So what's your perspective on the arena environments so far in this series Oakland versus Houston? Well, it's funny because on my Facebook page, let me to plug myself. It's my own personal when our sports. Doc seven anyone I during the playoffs. I had the battle of the arena announcers that. I did it against Utah's Dan Robertson, and then the Franko fan of his name is the hype man the warriors. He and I did a crosswalk. In my lab. So the rockets and he'll do his the worst. So the only good fun. But I've had plenty of respect for oracle the last handful of years because it's always loud. It's been a great championship. Run the low roof certainly helped helps out fans are already property at tip time and selfishly I'm not trying to give you Baltimore material. But selfishly I would love for the rockets to close or chlorine a- tomorrow night. Yeah. Well, I've bulletin board. Material doesn't matter with me because I I won't be shooting out there tomorrow night. So it that doesn't matter. All good mad Thomas. I as he has described a a big part of the rockets broadcast team, no matter what city they're in his joining us on these boards leader one. What what kind of chance do you give the rockets? I mean, I know that they've even this thing up, and there's all the cliches, it doesn't matter till someone wins on someone else's floor. But the warriors are still favored in the series. How how would you feel about it from the rockets perspective? Two amazing gutsy victories. You know, pretty deflating after not being able to win game won both games. Frankly here at on Oakland. We're very close to not to steal one at all this heartening because the rockets in years past the thing about the rockets of one regular season games. They oh and also wanna playoff game last year. So this is not foreign territory for the team to being going to the East Bay and winning a game with that being said, nobody cares about the past. Nobody frankly cares about the regular season. So yeah, a little disheartened they were down to but got their Mojo back. The rockets have won every playoff game. They have had so far in the postseason home. They want a bunch of games at home before the close the regular season. So I was at like, you know, all my goodness. You're comes this eight pounds. And frankly, while again, I have tremendous respect for the Golden State Warriors have, you know, the general manager Durham oriented afraid, you tell the whole world, and that you know, we've watched. And want to beat them. It just has a little bit of a feel that it's not the warriors of the last couple of years. And so I'm not saying you can poke a hole in the in the armor. But I it's it's a little more vulnerable Golden State team, and I hope that continues tomorrow night, but I'm not expecting this to be anything different than what we've seen in the first four games. Yeah. You know? It's interesting. You bring up the Daryl Morey thing he has made it known. It was I think a year or two ago when he said we're obsessed with with the warriors. And I and I never forgot that in. I I was talking to a buddy of mine about this today. And maybe it sounds silly. But I wonder if you could answer this for me, let's say that the rockets don't win this particular series, and then Kevin Durant leaves and somehow the rockets are able to get over next year's warriors. Would that be as sweet or do they need to be these warriors you'd have to beat the champions, whomever? Maybe. So if Kevin leaves to go to say, I don't know the east coast thirteen rhymes with boomer Mark Ricks who knows it wouldn't matter. No you want to slay the dragon. You want to win the championship belt to use? Pro wrestling turn you want to win the champion. I we would. I mean, we'd be the rockets should be obsessed with any team that had won three lives for championship. This isn't a oh, look what Steve Kurds rancher doing. This is all bent the team right now has the belt. That's the one that's building the dynasty and the rockets would like to build a dynasty. They did. So by acquiring James harden, a handful years ago and then bringing in Dwight Howard and then moving him out and bringing Chris Poland and trying to kick the tires mental. Anthony, you have to keep moving the puzzle pieces around until they fit, but it's on. It's not a push towards trying to knock off the words. It's trying to knock off who holds the NBA championship trophy. And right now it resides in your community. I I wonder what your. Your perspective would be on this being as close to the organization as you are. I used to work in LA. I've watched Chris Paul sometimes closely at different points in his career for for a long time. And he's certainly not the the only one, but I've seen some things in this series. Where you know, listen, we all anyone who's ever played basketball tries to sell things to the officials and draw thousand that's part of basketball. But the but the falling over out of nowhere where no one even touched you thing that that that does happen in certain spots of sports. But Chris Paul seems particularly adept at it. What what is your perspective on that? Because I'll just be honest with you. I hate stuff like that. It's ridiculous. Well, I'll say this. I was on the plane today we were flying here. And there there's some videos around about a variety of things. Whether it's Chris whether it's James, whether it's dream on what our Sean legs around Goodell. I've looked at all of them. And I am Mark. I must be honest with you on that. It's. The moment. It's the battle. It's two of these Western Conference heavyweights trying to gain any sort of competitive advantage. They can whether it's getting a call. Whether it's you know. Oh my goodness. I didn't meet her right? The is. But I did or all my goodness. You know Durant? Throw the elbow, and Chris falls or all my goodness. James harden, shoots at three in his elbow lands on Mons head. This is just a heavyweight twelve round fight. And I don't mean to get all sports cliche because I eight cliches on my own radio show, but back how I feel about it. And I feel as long as no one really get super hurt. It's just a chess match right now. And I love it. Because this is what as I watched this team all along. I mean, look going on the road and winning at Philadelphia and Toronto and beating the clippers is fun. But we've had this bull's eye on a certain team in the East Bay for the last handful of years and finally this Western Conference semifinal. It's come to play in the last two games have been super indicative of. What the rockets can do best the first two games or what? Golden State bid and whistle. We kind of expected. So all all all's fair in love and war. I don't want anybody really getting hurt. And I felt like there's been a couple of times things really could've gotten Mafeking. That's why the officiating game four was so good because this sort of a really nitpick things to make sure things got out of hand. Mad Thomas part of the rockets radio play by play team public address as well. Joining us on these sports leader VAT, speaking of Chris Paul, I also know through the years, and sometimes this has been a hidden. Well, how hard he can be on his own teammates and certain members of your media community have even talked a little bit about how his relationship with James harden, it sometimes can be tough, and and PJ Tucker's good peacemaker on that what what is their relationship like? It's tremendous amount of respect. Yeah. Are they going to always be a hang out after games? No. I thought that that relationship between James and Dwight Howard really deteriorated pretty quick after that first season because I just had different goals in different aspirants. The one thing that I will say about Chris as a rocket. But I didn't see the clipper you'd probably better should do that is you know, it you have to be you have to have an alpha dog. But you gotta have a pretty good. You know, Robin to Batman. And I think Chris has really started to adapt that there are times that I think he probably thinks that James will take some things out of, you know, wheel dribble the clock down to seven or eight seconds and may drive McRae's a little bit. But there's always a method of the rockets man this. And so I think Chris Paul understood when he came here. This was James his team that probably took some adjustment for Chris..
