UConn routs Gonzaga 82-54 for first Final Four in 9 years
"The Connecticut huskies are headed to the final four for the first time since 2014 after an 82 54 west regional final win over Gonzaga. Yukon scored the final three points of the first half and then started the second half on a 21 to 5 run. Huskies head coach Dan Hurley. Obviously we were just playing at a super high level, but we're not, I don't think we're obviously surprised by the margin of victory, but not surprised about where we're going next because this is who we've been for a large part of the season. "Forget for a moment about Trump versus Santos versus Hailey Rama Swami I don't even want to get into any of that stuff right now because it's turned into I think primaries are good things but it's turned into kind of like a ridiculous food fight I think at this point this is about something a lot bigger than Donald Trump I don't care about anyone's feelings about him at this point This thing up in New York is an abomination I don't know any other word to describe it It's a law about a misdemeanor with a statute of limitations has already expired on this business records thing That was latched on to a felony that exists at the federal level because he was a federal candidate that they can't even prove happened and that the statute of limitations is expired on too I mean isn't this what the Soviets did Remember beria like show me the man I'll show you the crime What's the difference Yeah you actually stole that example right out of my mouth I was about to say that this is dozi level behavior And unfortunately it's become all too common on the left And what I like to remind people is it doesn't actually matter how you feel about Donald Trump whether you love him or hate him whether you want him to be president again or whether you want him to disappear Because the left isn't going to stop with Donald Trump here If they can go and they can de platformer president like Twitter and Facebook and Google and YouTube did sitting president of the United States If they can go in arrest whoever they want and throw them in prison for things that are crimes for example walking through an open door during business hours held open for you by police to a public building like happened to so many people in January 6th And then if they can go and arrest a potential a previous president in a potential future president for crimes that don't exist they're not stopping at Donald Trump Their goal is to criminalize all political opposition and it starts with him but it's not going to end there

"Your thoughts on TikTok I'm torn on this I mean it's obviously a Chinese technological weapon for social destruction Get it Totally get it You don't have to sell me on it I'm in the tech space But I'm torn on it And the reason I'm torn on it is I think that the Democrats have linked shields with the Republicans here to get rid of TikTok not because they care about misinformation or foreign interference but if they can do that they want to go and start banning other platforms too Your thoughts after the hearing yesterday and what should be done about TikTok I think TikTok is an abomination It's poisoning our children's minds rewiring their brains doing so at the behest of the commies in China who by the way use a completely different algorithm and service among their own That's right You can't go and look up at this rot on Chinese TikTok It's all like learning and educational videos So there's the brain poisoning aspect There's the kami spying aspect where you are importing into your phone and into your life Chinese spyware So I think it absolutely should be banned It's a cancer Can you imagine during the Cold War if we were telling people hey you need to check out this great new device It's a Soviet radio It just happens to transmit stuff to the Soviets but don't worry we'll have really good radio program It would have been last out of the room But with TikTok it can't end with TikTok It has to end with us going acknowledging more with China spanning them from buying up our land buying up our farms preventing them from stealing all our IP And we need to stop making all our stuff over there Let's make stuff in America again and have a Manhattan Project for making stuff in America because if we don't do that we're cooked

"Lisa Boone first let's talk about Donald Trump So this is the second day now in a row The grand juries being sent home without an indictment You know you're pretty familiar with the legal process I mean that old line you can indict a ham sandwich is accurate It's not adversarial You walk into the grand jury room and you only tell one side of the story It is almost impossible to not indict someone There's no defense attorney there You could say almost anything Lisa as long as you don't lie What does it say to you that after two straight days now Two straight days There are apparently unable even in New York City to get an indictment issue I mean this is police state stuff at this point Well you know and we're talking about New York City right So we're talking about a left brain liberal city Right so it's not even indicting I mean it's even worse than that because it's New York City So I am praying this means that they're not going to move forward with an indictment against Donald Trump because I mean we know what that would mean for the country Dan I've really been thinking about this and thinking about just the basic question are we still constitutional republic And I don't know if we are Dan I mean we look more like an authoritarian nation than a country that believes in the rule of law that believes in freedom and liberty And so we know that this would set us down a really dangerous and dark path as a country

The Fed Has Two Options: Bank Failures or Inflation
"You combine this with our troubled economy how to listen during the break So Dan are you going to address the rate hike yesterday in the economy Yeah you're damn right aim because we're in a lot of trouble folks The fed right now our government we have two choices And we have only two choices The Federal Reserve and the Biden White House we have two choices right now The choices are a pick your poison No matter what the fed does you are either fighting against bank failures or you're fighting inflation You either going to get inflation or you're going to get bank failures coming up There's no option C I'm sure of it Remember this show and remember the date The fed rate raised their rates yesterday 25 basis points Not a huge hike They were doing 50 basis points before But real interest rates are still negative Meaning inflation is running at 6% the fed target rate now is about four and three quarters So effectively the real interest rate is still negative because four and three quarters is less than 6 which is the actual inflation rate which arguably is not arguably I believe but it's much higher I don't think the way the feds even calculate calculating inflation is accurate Here's the long and short of it The entire economy has been feasting on low interest rate money for a long time If this is complicated stop me in the audience send me a message and say you're born us too complicated I'm fascinated by this stuff But for years we have had zero or near zero interest rates So if you owned a company what would you do If you could borrow money where the real interest rate is negative on that money Think about what that means That means the money is effectively free That means you could borrow money to run your business and the value of what you borrowed goes down and down and down is real interest rates are negative It's effectively free money

"Your thoughts on this world baseball classic A lot of complaints a lot of good players got injured My humble opinion will I think this was great for baseball in 60 million people or something watch the Japan Mexico game that's crazy I do too and here's why I think it's good for baseball is because baseball is just mired in declining relevance The only reason people watch baseball is for one singular team that they are passionate about They don't watch it for their league They don't watch it for a playoff party They watch it for their team And this was a moment where look I got to tell you Dan baseball has fallen down for me to I don't know number four maybe Yeah me too brother Yes But all of a sudden it was buzz around this world Baseball classic and like I think the key I'm going to tie it together and it's not that it's a mutual love fest But to watch you blow up and you really started to blow up when I was over in the world of sports and to watch you blow up and it's not about attention seeking your carnival barking It's about you have quality content that you need to make the world aware of right And so and not just that but it's a message that's important And you wouldn't be doing it if you didn't think it were important right And then therefore you got to tell people about it And I just watched how you built what you've built which is just beyond impressive And I joked with you last weekend on your show but I really did take lessons from what you did Look if you've said something on a recent podcast or you said something on a recent show and you're talking about now and say yeah and I went into a deeper here right I only got two minutes on television but I went into a deeper here So I truly learned from you but just to tie a full circle the world baseball classic was calling attention to the game of baseball in a way that had been lost And next thing I know without even trying I'm looking up and it's in the bar and people are talking about it And then saying you know Shohei Ohtani is going up against Mike Trout in epic With the game on the line Exactly Right

"So I totally agree with you when it comes to the Republican primary in the Republican base And I think it could It could cinch the Republican primary for him Over who we all know to be the closest FrontRunner Ron DeSantis right I'm not making that call I'm just saying it could be the deciding factor right But here's the thing And I want to talk this out with you I don't know about the general Now here's why I say that Okay you're right about the stormy Daniel stuff That stuff's baked into the cake That ain't changing anybody's mind right I think that your challenge Dan bongino And my challenge will Cain is this Do we know that what this story is truly about is a two tiered justice system And I can go into the details of it and I can talk about the fact that no DA would ever pursue this including the previous DA or federal prosecutors that it's a misdemeanor that it's run past the statute of limitations And I can lay out the case about why this is so weak and therefore it's a political witch hunt I can lay that out right But the only people that are really going to take the time to listen to me on that are the people that care and know right away And that is the Republican base that sees the details is invested in understanding and sees that therefore the two tier justice system What my worry is Dan There's this other thing out there And I don't know what the better word for it than zeitgeist And it's just sort of the people who accept the news and it washes over them right And when it washes over you all you collect is a few details And you have to have these people to win an election You have to have some of these people in the general And again I don't think it's the stormy Daniels aspect I think it's going to be like this idea that Donald Trump broke the law period That's what they'll say right And what they're going to do by the way is run probably run the same play three times They may run it in Georgia and they may run it when it comes to Mar-a-Lago And you and it comes back to me and you and everyone out there to try to persuade those people who I don't think are dug in lefty Those people are lost right Don't worry

"Yesterday I was in Houston and I'm doing this piece on Fox and Friends for Fox and Friends for Devin still He's an amazing dude He played defensive tackle for the Bengals You probably heard a story at one point his daughter got diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer Yes yes unfortunately I have her yeah She survived She's good She's 12 and I went and visited with them And he's an absolute champ just a font of wisdom You meet people in your life or smart people wise people stand out You're like I don't know what it is but you've managed to figure out a lot of really important life lessons Which by the way is one of the reasons I'm conservative because of the wisdom involved in the eternal principles But anyway so Devin and I worked out Dan and that was part of the thing we're going to work out together And he's boxing So I boxed for the first time yesterday And I shadowed And I hit bags And then are you still this feeling today I didn't even know I had these muscles I feel like high back Totally dude boxing will wear your ass out bro boxing it's not just if you're doing it right and I'm sure Devin told you this A punch is about 30% arm And about another 20% 25% leg and the rest is rotational core Only street dogs use all arm and that's why they can't fight But when you get rid of boxer and he teaches you how to properly body hook you realize this is mostly legs and core And if you're doing it right on that heavy bag you wake up the next day and you're right you're like my gosh that hurts Why does my lower back card No boxing is great There's nothing like it

More than 2000 pills were seized Monday, the first batch of more than 250 pills was found during a traffic stop on Georgia avenue near Randolph road in Silver Spring. 20 year old Marcus Carter was driving a silver Mercedes with two other young men inside after pulling the car over Montgomery county police officers learned Carter was in violation of his learners permit. They established reason to search the car found the pills, cash a loaded gun and items related to drug distribution. Every day makes it hard to sleep. What is a stress test for my portfolio? It sounds more like a mental or medical tests than a financial one. And how does it work? How can I get this done, and that's how you what kind of funny that we described that. But you're not the only one that stressed out about their portfolio. We see people every single day that come in and seek a second opinion, and they're totally anxiety all they worry about their portfolio constantly, particularly since we've been in such a large and long bull market run. They're afraid every day that what happens when the market research How much am I going to lose? And they haven't been given these answers. So your question is very timely is something that every single consumer listening to the show should have done under portfolio. It's have a stress test to determine how much risk you have right now. In detect correspond with your objectives likely It won't and what we do here at our firm. As we use outside third party firms, they do their research firms. They have developed software and systems for us to take your portfolio. We will take each position you have in your portfolio. We will entered into the system. Not at all. But the position you're in right now, and is to make sure that you do have a stress test because you are concerned about it. You should be concerned about it. Everybody listening should be concerned about it. And she stressed out about it because she doesn't feel like she has any control over her money. She has no control. She's just leaving the money in. It goes up and down. And if you Get to decide and how much risk you want to take. And you tell us you want to take 5% risk or no more than 10% risk or 0% risk. As we help you define that we then create a portfolio that is projected to give you that type of risk level. Now you feel like you'll be back in control and you won't worry about your money as much. You'll still worry about it a little bit. That will keep her out of the individual races but may allow her to be on the relay races in tokyo so this is the complexity of having four different bodies of law and rules. Right you have yes The united states law. When you're in the united states you have a state law and for example on marijuana. There's not all fifty states that have the same you have the. Us olympic rules and you have the international was and the problem is. It's not wrong. In some theoretical way to have an athletic organization make rules that are different than what the law that non athletes us right. I mean you can all say yeah. That kind of makes sense. The problem is. How old are those rules. And who made them to begin with and do they carry with them. Sort of an archaic view of what the rules should be an and in terms of some of these rules. Who made them is like. Was it a bunch of like eleven white guys. Twenty five years ago making rules that are still in effect and so the problem is where is the line and in you're right i mean take take her. For example you know the rule says drugs can disqualify you want it's performance enhancing and another one is something. And then the third is like a you know cast aspersions on your sport or something like that. Well to begin with you're right. You know. Think about it i. I don't know this from first hand but my understanding of people who use marijuana is that it's not only not enhancing think about it like if she did it she probably wanted to go out and get fried food and donuts and it wasn't gonna make a run very fast so you know. I think one of the questions that people ask is well wait. Why does that make sense for rule. That doesn't conform on the other hand. You know sometimes. We want these athletics to have rules. Like i mean you know i. I don't know what would come to mind. But i mean think of tennis. For example i mean everybody can wear anything except the wimbledon where you can only wear white and when like rafa decided he would take his sleeves off that was probably the scandal of the united kingdom. So consequently there's the tension and let me show you where it goes before we get to the next example. I my partner in my firm has represented athletes against the ncaa in in the issues of whether you can you know they can raise funds or make funds for their name and likeness and whether they can have funds attributed to them so the rules make sense when you think about them at twenty five thousand feet but their archaic like the ncaa rules are and then they change but they change slowly. So for her for kerry. Richardson is it. Is it fair. People will come out on both sides of that issue and it does seem to me that when there is a rule that isn't connected immediately to performance and it doesn't have the immediate effect of it being something as vague as does it cast some aspersion the sports. That's where it gets tricky and that's where people should reconsider. Yeah so we have a situation where there there's reportedly An incident in her life that caused her great distress. The death of a loved one and then. She sought refuge for that for that pain by using marijuana. She has an. I can't stress this enough. She says i did this. I knew the rule. I did this. I accept the punishment what i'm asking now and i. I suspect i know the answer. But i think people would ask this the law. I mean does does she have legal recourse as we understand the law the law being written to affect the entire citizenry. You know the law of the land which is different than the law of athletics. Different than the law of the olympics certainly the international olympic committee. If she can she go to a court in the united states. I suspect she can't but i'm asking. Can she go to court in the united states and say. Get me relief from this. Well you know you. Just define as i started the conversation at various levels of law and rules the law can say something is okay to do but you as a club member as somebody who lives in a homeowners association as somebody who signs up to be an athlete for the olympic team sign agreement contract of you know orally or in writing that says i will abide by your rules which are more restrictive ryan the law of the state or the country and so the answer to your question straight on his no The other issue there is an here shows. The potential arbitrariness of the system is that so. She says i did it. It's not performance enhancing. She understands that she was doing something which she admits she knew was wrong. But they will be the the arbitrariness of like all right four weeks. Why not two weeks. Why not one week. Why not a reprimand. Don't do it again. And they are again lies the problem with rules that are not basically in hard concrete in in various laws because laws you know we do basically try to set out the parameters of the punishment here when you have institutions deciding what will be the punishment is it includes another level of potential arbitrariness. And so she could have for this offense for the reason she did. It admitted say she did it. But the institution the organization could have said okay. This is your first defense. You know we give people a second bite at the apple and it could have been a reprimand. You know what i mean. So there's another level it's not just broke the law or rule not law but rule rule. What happened what what happens with it. But she doesn't have any recourse in court if she kinda voluntarily decided to abide by more restrictive rules one more point on that in our history and you see it now like with voting rights right. The united states federal government can say thou shall have the right to vote And the states can say yes but i want you to show an idea. I want you to stand on your head and sing the star spangled banner and so when you start delegating how a law is interpreted or how a rule is interpreted you end up with this possibility that we all abide by on some level but olympic organizations clubs homeowner associations and states can do something with it that makes it more restrictive and at some point it does get to if it does violate a bigger law. It's due process. You know if it's equal protection. If for example i mean look at one of the other issues going on right on the swimming team.
