"Dial the number. And he's on now. Like you're on the ken coleman show again. How you doing the dream bro. What's up have a question i. I'm considering for a year now. taking on a part time position y currently working radical field as a technologist. And we makola. Hey we got laid off I should say and then got redeployed. And i took a job organ and the department working covert patients directly and looked at a blast so when we got finished doing that and they sent stacked regular jobs i was wishing they were keeping on but i make a pretty good salary and at the ceiling of my salary and can't up any higher The only way. I get extra money by working overtime and that got caught After coming back and call barely really at that. So i was considering taking job part time in the er just trying to get my foot back. Because i liked it a lot. But the jobs dan position there without any not being a nurse or anything like that is low. Low paying my but Do i consider something like that. That they do have a part time. Position like a per position of Posted now because i'm trying to get in there. You know just giving good back in there a little bit just to do some extra work. Extra cash Yes so if. I'm understanding you correctly and this isn't going to affect your day job but it allows you to make more money and be get back in Into the arena. If you will then yes. I would absolutely like less than half of what i currently make. Analysis like worth going back to. You know. well wait a second only a second job correct correct. Yeah it's so it's not about the money. It's more about getting back in if i'm understanding this correctly Yeah i guess that's the way you look at it. no. I don't wanna convince you i don't want to convince you i'm trying to understand you not gonna change jobs because i'd have to go back to school and all that and i don't want to do that so okay. That's what i missed. Somehow i miss that. I would you take part time job. Why would you take one for extra. you know. i i to more money to help. Pay my bills But you don't wanna do it fulltime. Because you can't do it fulltime because you have to go back to school Event well y- would have to take on. I wouldn't have to go back to school or to become Like a mt or paramedic or something like that. So what's what's the big goal. I know you you wanna make more money so if your call is kin should i. Should i take this part time job. Because i wanna make more money and it is doing something that i really enjoy then. Yes but if you're going. But i can make more money doing something else part time but and i'm never going to go into this thing that i love than than i if it's just about the money that no i wouldn't do it because you've obviously make more doing something else part-time correct correct. I mean that's what you're presenting to me but see to me. I'm listen if this is. What should i do to make the most money possible. Take the part time that part time job. That pays you the most money. But i didn't think that's why you were calling if that's why you're calling. That's my answer. If this is about. Should i take a lower pain part-time job. Just because i like the work if my motivation is to make as much money as possible the part time job the no but i was thinking you were eventually going to get back in and so that leads me to the whole reason i do the show. I don't do the show just to help people make money i do. This showed help people be who they were supposed to be who they are supposed to be. So what's the long term play for you professionally That's a good question. I moved show. Now i i do my job for twenty years and know i'm just kinda like stale with it. You know okay. So here's what i'm gonna do in just a minute. I'm gonna. I'm gonna put you on hold and i'm gonna give you my brand new assessment. You just heard me talking about okay. Okay it's thirty bucks for everybody else. I'm giving it to you. It is the sweet spot. Talent passion mission how they align. It's what i teach you're familiar with. David enlisted me for a year. I've got a digital assessment. That's like me walking through it on a computer and it's gonna spit out your top talents your passions and your primary mission result that you want to create in this world gonna fill out a purpose statement for you and it's going to show you some professional possibilities and if you still have questions after that you still call me back. But i'm help with that but that's not why you called me today. Your primary thing was what we've already established so if it's about making the most money possible with a second job i'm gonna take the best pain side job but if it's about i wanna kinda get back in to the certain issue which it's not that i wouldn't do it so based on what i hear. I think i would take. I would not do this. is that what. I'm hearing my hearing you correctly. You are you have to put it that way. Your is i look at it that way and think about it You know what's our motivation. What's our motivation. What's the motivation. Answer answer the question for this considering. The what's the motivation. Why are you considering a job to make more money boom. There's your answer. What's our motive. That's our why well it's to make more money. It's not to enjoy something while we're doing. It's just stinking second job and you're trying to make some cash then then what we do is we make the best decision based on my why. So that's the okay. Now once you take the assessment my get clear career assessment. Once you take it and you and you are going to get clear even lizama show for a year and missing a walk through everything i would do on the phone with somebody but you have more time to take it and it's just going to spit out some unbelievable clarity for you to where you can look out there in the marketplace and go. What do i really want to do. And that's gay cleared then you'll be a place where you go okay. I'm ready to get qualified. Now you're gonna have to wrestle with this at some point because if you've got to get more education whether it's higher education or just a certification or some training at some point you're going to have to confront that that you're going to have to get trained. Probably whether that again is higher ed certification. What have you so take hang on. Take assessment here's what you do if you still got some questions about direction after you take the assessment. This is going to reveal everything..

"Rockies just made their latest Sam Weatherly he is a left handed pitcher out of Clemson so the Rockies kind of following what a lot of people said about this draft deeper in pitching Dan position players bite size certainly some high level talent at the high school level earlier in the draft so the Rockies take to high schoolers last night to college pitchers today they have two more picks one ten and one forty in the fourth and fifth rounds respectively you know we always talk about wow watch this because there's not no other sports on and all this kind of stuff I'm curious if any of you watch the MLB draft knocking a lot of reaction on the tax line about the Rockies picks which is not it which is not surprising because look we talk about in the NFL and the NBA we won't know for a few years who had the best straps in baseball it's even worse but I'm curious if you watched it you know ESPN picked it up it's on ESPN two today let's see how far the desperation for live sports goes even though they're more more sports come back five two two nine eight seven two let's get to couple of your thoughts Erin says rocky should only draft pitchers bring in hitters with free agency makes a lot of sense but the Rockies can't go out and sign every free agent hitter that comes on the market but yes certainly gonna load up I said I said yesterday I don't mind if they don't go pitcher with their first pick but they better come away with multiple pitchers and they have to now and I would expect them probably to get another one at least for the end of the draft don't have to go pick your number one necessarily there's a position player available but better come away with a lot of them great he says I didn't watch it I have no idea who any of these kids are that's fine I watch and I don't know who most of these kids are I'm just playing catch up well let's see couple of your thoughts on NASCAR removing the Confederate flag from there a vans Albert says NASCAR's moved to ban the flag from its worries ways was long overdue in the absolute right thing right move I should say about any gain in viewership fans will be short lived unfortunately these motors for industries suffering for fans at all levels as lifestyles and interests of most of the western world have been changing this comes from an avid gearhead informer S. C. C. a racer and it may be I'll take your word for that and I've seen some of what you're talking about our and maybe it doesn't last long but here's the other thing there's there's a thing about hard core fans let's just use a political term in say the base Hey the base will be there the base will be there and that's why I say yes it takes a level of gots to potentially alienate a lot of your core fan base but they will anybody any of these people and I've seen him on social media and stuff and it's like R. get out of my timeline but anyone who says I'm done watching NASCAR because they remove the Confederate flag is not a NASCAR fan in the first place you're a fan of the confederacy and I don't want to know you personally the hardcore fans will be there so Alber what you say yeah it's right there's a lot of things about motor sports and they are struggling a little bit right now but I I think still the right thing to do I still hope they get a bump from it I hope that more people tune into NASCAR over the next couple weeks and give it a shot now that that incredibly offensive keep out sign is been taken down from their sport I just hope people give it a shot and maybe it does help them in the long term maybe it doesn't in the interim I hope it helps because they did the right thing and they did a thing that's going to that is very unpopular with their hard core fans some of them anyway because Michael James and I consider myself parkour NASCAR fan totally agree with you what you said about that flag just not necessary it really isn't and people have pointed out you have NASCAR removing the Confederate flag on the same day that in a black man drives one of their cars data and I know Bubba Wallace has been around for a while but I'm just saying add up all of the all of white NASCAR had yesterday so they announce no more Confederate flag Bubba Wallace a black man is driving one of their cars and that car just so happens to have the words black lives matter really big on it and that car is owned by Richard Petty I mean think about all all of that for NASCAR in one day it's all it's all positive good on NASCAR good on Bubba Wallace good on you know Richard petty's racing team the people that were NASCAR fans and fans of flying the Confederate flag trust me NASCAR you're better off without him.

"The is the actual fighting between that is to dentures I think this is the way and even if you just do the way in if we get a picture on the internet of you like that being a hype man behind mas yet all going in the right like that's a victory in itself like I I I don't think I think we're just asking for too much here right what I did ask for anything I did ask for any of us right I did ask for anything okay he was in the studio with us Hey Dan position that as he'll be part of your entourage walking you into the octagon okay and so I'm willing to do it but I want to welcome all the way up to the octagon and then I want to sit there watch the fight right by the I think I will buy listen I want to be in his corner their corner but you're not asking for any of this I'm not asking for any is but if I'm gonna be up there couple of dead shows at doing some Sir shows in the York I have a couple last and that's one of a yeah I wanna be the guy like I wanna be the guy who's in front of my hospital and he has his hands on my shoulders and I'm walking about to be out the gun that's what I'd like yeah I mean listen why not ask and then you're gonna be in the corner you gotta be the height guy you're the guy going on her let's go maybe maybe you could be the guy spreading the vastly on both him and me that guy that like light their eyebrows years down with that I get up and I never wonder why they did I was wonder whether now whenever Greg I mean I'll be there and he couldn't I've been up I would I I've been it he needs it it was a fun fight it is a big fight I have no idea who these guys I mean I don't and you still have very much you think we expected to see you've given up an average of a hundred and thirty points a game in the first two games looking like you were totally all I'm saying is at you don't have a right to get on up all the damn time about what they say or what they don't state asking them to be political and all this other nonsense but you do have a right to look at them as a way of the state yeah are you going they won one thirty four to one twenty three last the defense of issues so around yes still around that's a negative when games right that the they win game it's gonna be one thirty four to one twenty three on offense the defense curry twenty six points less but that's interesting the warriors records I've said during the off season that they why not the warriors like people writing them off as a team that could make it to the NBA finals and I look at a team that has the Angelo Russell Steph curry Draymond green it will eventually get clay Thompson back that's a pretty good three even without quite better when they get quite back out I I agree with you know a lot of the prognostication had them fighting for the the eighth seed and I I I just don't see that I see them fighting for home court advantage for top for speed even with the even without clay but even with a bad start here yeah absolutely it's two games right yeah I don't work at the Angelo and yeah I mean plays pretty good last night I think let me check also real quick he did he actually I think it's best game as a warrior lasts that long only played three I've lost so much defensively though right and to lose quite a ways away yet all Russell everyone's pointing to it like the offense of contributions from Russell because yeah you can you can fill it up but I mean he is out I got a revolving door defensively and they've lost a rant defensively ending with Dahlen Shaun Livingston these are guys that made key contributions on that and before right but if they're winning a lot of games like this one in the in the in the one twenties and one thirty you know score the other guy and you're still fine I do think Golden State with its recent pedigree with the dynasty that they've had in the in the near past you know they're one of the teams that can actually play the disrespect card and take something from the fact that everybody's writing them all I think we're in line for pretty sweet first round match per team that like the clippers possibly even the Lakers as a one seat having to put a hold an eight seat Golden State Warriors with their championship pedigree and Klay Thompson possibly being back from injury hello what's that right no one wants it you're mad city to the west positioning themselves as they get closer to avoid that exact scenario yeah I think that team with quite coming back in the first rattling Western Conference play all right everybody wants the two seven nine a one eight naked stretching down for some all right Jorge mas the doll is going to join us snacks will say if I'm gonna walking into the ring the octagon we'll find out together we are going to put the pressure on him and armor you're a really get make them nervous offer arm wrestling I fight for a living all for now it's all of that we already beat him along from the Cleveland again only laws all right guys blank guess what crime rates spike on Halloween yep you guessed it burglars no you're not home you're out trick or treating I don't think you're familiar with his MMA record is lost before yeah may me not in your personal record but because you just found out about him but with at three second knockout yet of a lawsuit oh really okay this year trick or treat with peace of mind knowing your blade security cameras are watching your home when cameras the motion activated wire free.

"Here's what I want you to do. I want you to take a sip of coffee, or whatever you're drinking and hold it in your mouth while I read this to you. During the recent lecture Columbia University. Hillary Clinton warned the democratic voters to not pick an unlikable candidate describing many of the male democratic candidates is unlikable. Yeah. Wouldn't wanna do that? Would you? Get unlikable candidate through the primary and entity the general election. Good advice there. It would be good advice. If I thought she was actually being somewhat self aware. I'd just like to remind you that not only was she did she have the lowest favorability rating of any presidential candidate in history, even beating Donald Trump. Yes. But she's the only candidate ever lose. And then actually lose favorability points post-election. But you know, good advice. Okay. All right. Sorry. Sped coffee on stuff. It's not my fault. Should listen to me? All right to the phones. Chris you're up. I go ahead. Chris. Hey, casey. How you doing this morning? Good, sir. What's up? Look on just got a quick quick thing. Tween fully agree about the the whole home the school accountable. But have you noticed within today's generation not a lot of homework is going home with these kids as some of the reasons? You don't wanna strip kids L? But I mean, I know you, and I we came up with all the whole that we did have. So my thing is is that all we also talking about accountability from the parents themselves that follow with the kids on performance cities for the educate the the kids. I mean, they're programs out there that the Royal program that the government could fund and provide all these parents as far as at Tiffany's that everybody could put on the computers it's been like an hour or two instead of watching TV and playing video games. Spend an hour or two extra. Well, let me let me let me let me just because there's a lot there down pack. Let me let me say this one you could have to show me full accountability with things that are already being funded before I I'm comfortable with the government doing one-size-fits-all, computer stuff, but I totally agree with your larger point. And I think that most public school teachers, and and and this is again, a lot of people think we have this conversation picking on everybody involved in education. That's simply not the case. They would tell you the single greatest challenge that they face out of their control is the involvement of parents. And and how critical it is to having kids that do well in an educational environment. And are also able to notice when something's not doing. Well, so that they can work with the teacher to address it to the extent that they can you're absolutely right. I just don't know how you mandate that you know, some people. Some people suck another thing. But another thing is that. I mean, we we get into a society where would teach kids that it's okay to the just the drop them all over a school. And then we parents don't have to do anything because that's what that's what the teachers in hard. And I think that's the wrong concept. A lot of a lot of parents. Yeah. I hear ya. And I'm gonna get. Here's what's going to have a bunch of people are going to call and say their kid gets gazillion pieces of homework. So let me just tell Ross I I don't wanna get into big Homer to bait right now. But there's there's a lot there. But I think I think one of the biggest things that we've lost and thanks for the call their Chris is the idea that the teacher and the parent our team Ryan the teacher and the parents are a team. And because the idea. The there's a card is a cartoon that floats around see post on the internet was political cartoon. I don't know where ridge Nate from basically had, you know, a cla- apparent teacher conference for forty years ago where the kid did something. And and and the teacher told the parent and the parent was mad at the kid. And then the the next panel was essentially the parent was mad at the teacher for how dare you insult my child. And I I don't know. I don't know that that's inaccurate in many instances. I get a lot of Email for people out of. Here's the thing. A lot of there's nothing I could do with it. Because it's a lot of he said she said, but a lot of it. I wanna write the parents back. It'd be like, I don't know sounds like your kids. Don, a good kid. You know, sounds like it sounds like you're teaching entitlement your child from what you're asking me to go on radio g hot over then have very often. But it happens enough that I realized how non-self aware some people are Lisa you go right ahead. Thanks for hanging on. Hey, I kept outlive. Roy Cooper's opinions about charter schools. But I do know that his daughter went to explore with my daughter. So he has his children to charter school. Yeah. They went to Florence which used to be on more square. It's a hippy dippy school, and I basically parked my child there just because they'll school this. You know, I wasn't really concerned about middle school. But it was small and it was safe. And yeah, it was like the irony is going to be very interesting. If the when we get to the general election for governor in its forest the Cooper because I think people are going to seize on a lot of that stuff. Whether it is. Although the media probably only on one side, but whether it is ROY Cooper making that decision or the fact that Dan forest home schooled is kids, and he makes e makes secret of it. But I would argue the Dan's position that there should be a dementia amount of choice would obviously include home schooling. So at least there's a little more consistency there. You know what I'm saying? I do and I'm all for choice, and it's just amazing. I work for a liberal organization. And I'm told that this is wrong for different reasons than what you're discussing. But it has to do with race and class that kind of thing. But yet a people that I work with can afford to move to Chapel Hill. And I can't so interesting. Well, then your kid won't get whooping cough or whatever the current. But remember if they are concerned about race. Obviously concern lies with the fact that there were no white kids at the the charter school. The Dan talked about you can go for county there. My my point being, of course that the charter school. Thank you for the call run the gamut based on the communities there in there may be a religious component either on a private or on a private side the draws people in there. It's again, those are those are choices that parents are gonna make all right one real quick on this. Janet got about a minute. Go ahead. Hey dimension, the Hillary Clinton proved that she was barely self aware enough to get dressed in the morning when she says something about Donald Trump should be locked up for crimes he didn't commit after the whole list of crimes it was read aloud on TV that she committed and they can get Las out for Aaron judgment. I believe is what Komi essentially counted as it was a whoopsie. So. Aaron judgment, but it wasn't Hillary's error. And no, obviously, not you know, it's Kim to it's a Kintu. And thank you very much for the call their Janet, it's akin to somebody going in somebody else's studio because they're at a remote studio today and stealing their small fridge and saying that it's not stealing. It's just moving didn't steal. I moved it to your protection. Yeah. To your put your stuff in. Because I'm concerned right race stage. That sounds like stealing where you're from doesn't. It does to me. He says it moved it. But we got a video we got a video UNC student moving assigned she disagrees with and when the officer explains that no that's actually called stealing it. It's quite a show quite a shock that has. Yeah. She just moved on the blog, but I can't act. They won't let me go there. Oh, no. That's what I'm just driving. They won't let you go. There will not. No, no. You're not Bamble. We're still kind of from that whole thing. If you weeks, we're still limited. Yep. Here. We are. No, it's not it's not thirty here. Man. It's still got enough.

Final Boston beat that hurricanes dig a commanding three games to zip lead in the series. Global news twenty four hours a day on air and tick tock on Twitter powered by more than twenty seven hundred journalists and analysts in more than one hundred twenty countries. I'm Michael Barr. This is Bloomberg. John, Michael, thank you. It is now six twenty Wall Street, we're live for the Bloomberg interactive brokers studios. This is Bloomberg daybreak. Good morning. I'm John Tucker. The economic data out today. Reading on retail sales may have sputtered last month. Bloomberg's senior US economist joining saddle walk through the data. We actually we get lots of stuff today manufacturing industrial production, capacity, utilization, hard and soft data continues on and on. So we will have some hard data and some soft. They wait a second. Explain that to me, just generally that's hard data is the numbers the actual numbers. So like things like industrial production or retail sales that you mentioned, but we'll also get some soft data some sivy data. How you feeling you feeling about something? Right. So we will get manufacturing sivy from New York state by state manufacturing sivy for the months of me, for example, which might be the very earliest sign that could just tell us what's going on in terms of. Businesses reaction still the trade tensions. So this is the data for me this will include the period at which trade tensions, actually escalated. So let's see how the how producers reacted to that empire manufacturing this morning for possible signs of like later this week. We'll have consumer sentiment, and that will tell us how can you must react to the market's reaction to the abrupt market reaction to trade tension news. But this morning, we'll also have some hard data as I mentioned retail sales and industrial production, and we expect both of this data to be flat in the months of April. And there are a couple of things going on. We will not see any trade impacts in the hard data because even like the goods that left China, they will not get impacted by tariffs until they reached the US soil. So. We will probably not see the impact of that. In the data for a couple of months is the US consumer slowing down a little I think why we expect flick retail sales in the months of April is probably because it's going to be just the retracement from a particularly strong months that we had back in March. So retail sales really searched in March and today, we'll probably get some payback for that having said that we'll see some big decline in auto sales in the numbers, which will actually weigh considerably on the headline. I wouldn't say that it's a sign of you know, uh strengths in the consumer sector is just monthly volatility. I believe and consumer will continue to be the drive of economic growth in the second quarter is just not going to be such a still a performances GDP numbers in the first quarter portrayed. I want to switch a little with the trade. Same to the Federal Reserve add their positioning. What is their position right now? Dan positioning is pretty straightforward. Just stay stay on hold don't touch anything and just continue to say that in public speeches. So I'm going to attend public speech by president barking. This afternoon. Just we are on hold. We're going to be patient and see how things will evolve is there a tipping point at when a business passes costs higher costs from tariffs or whatever onto their customers. Reaching this point actually because you know, the margins have been really stressed, and you have to some point start passing on those high costs, whether it's wages tariffs or whatever else. And I think we will see this in the inflation data this year. So we see some pickup for quarter though. Probably more likely in the second half of the year because you know, all this trade tensions will kind of pick up a transitory real quick. I know wages are not transitory wages have been picking up at an accelerating pace. And we will see that in data.

Be it team that was that just NC double A tournament bound. But a team that was going to be atop the begins standings that you're about to hit their stride. Got a lot of nasty tweets from Saint John's fan sane C J J. That's why shouldn't have been so hard on him after the Georgetown defeat because they'd be Creighton on the road because they beat Marquette on the road. Well, I should the challenge. But twenty four hours ago to anybody who's listening to anybody is a big believer in this program. Your plan providence at home. You coming off that market win glance send a message and the message that Saint John's sent was that way consistently inconsistent. Now, I understand Herron was ruled out with a bruised, right? Knee about forty minutes before it started game. I get he's the second leading score. That hurts. But they got destroyed on the boards. A providence team. That's not any good at providence team. That's going to stiff the NC double A tournament Petri by fourteen points. That's not a good look for everybody involved. Saint John's seventeen seven record is already because they played nobody in an aunt conference five and six and a conference Saint John's these to get the ten big east wins. See this is what people are going to look at. And say, well, if we get to five hundred and a league that usually is good enough. Yeah. Normal year. It is see ninety nine in the big ten probably going to get it. Not an SEC. You know, what you have good non conference? You have good. Analytics and all that stuff in Saint John's doesn't have those good optics conference. They need to play well any conference and any a lot better than that. As you tell me they're going on in the big east ornament. The team continues to be consistently inconsistent. Who's responsible? What a team that to me should be amongst the big east delete this year. Virus funds? He's got a phone head cut game in and game out. Chris Barnes got to answer for the fact that why the Saint John's on one given day come out and look like a team that can win multiple NCW tournament games and other games. They look like a team. That's because the torment. Hard figure out very very hard to figure out but a disappointing Saturday for them. Let's say the Aberdeen New Jersey set this up next on a foul upset. Good morning. I'm just calling about the Tari Irving situation going into the next question is if you have Dennis Smith junior, why would you really want carry Irving considering that they probably have the same similar career path except Dennis Smith junior is younger cheaper. Under your control doesn't have the attitude doesn't have the injury history and like you can grow the kid. You can develop his kid watches kid mature, Kevin Durant. I mean, just say we do and just say we get a top top two pit. We need to starting lineup. Like, we don't have a shooting guard or small forward per se. You could drive die Williamson. He's like Larry Johnson type power forward. Dan position Durant. Played. He's not going to be quick enough in the NBA, it'd be small floor. You can get RJ Barrett. Swing Mallika Scottie Pippen site. I but wanted great don't get me wrong. But. We need a starting small forward shooting guard. I understand that. That's totally fair. Except for the fact that Kyrie Irving skill set and talent is far greater than Dennis Smith. Look Dennis Smith. Stunning. Nice job in his first couple of games. I understand there's an upside down I understand exit very high on them. That's great. But his talent does not match, Kyrie Irving. Kyrie Irving when he's right is one of the most electrifying gourds in the league. Listen set who's to say you can't have both on a team. You're telling me it's the end of the world if Dennis Smith Leche, let's say next year is played serious minutes. Coming off the bench backing them up not wrong with that nothing wrong. You're exactly right thing is to me. What is Kyrie Irving actually done in the NBA without LeBron James? Well, listen, you can say that for a lot of guys. He's also put up some on believable scoring campaigns. He's one of the moral electrifying guards in the league. Look in the biggest game that cavalier team ever. Played game seven against the Golden State Warriors in the bay area. Everybody talks about the LeBron block a wonderful moment. The Cavs win in a game set. Let me ask you a question who is the biggest shot in that game? Carrie hands down, no questions asked. That guy's an assassin. That guy gets buckets that guy's been on winning teams in Cleveland winning teams in Boston, I want Kyrie Irving home, I want Kyrie Irving back into New York fabric now sets who's to say the Caribbean. Definitely wants to come here. We don't know what's going to happen yet with the Celtics. We don't know what's gonna happen when it points like Los Angeles that will have a chance to dare I say go get to max type players. But listen, you're telling me Dennis Smith junior. What does he have the ceiling of Kyrie Irving is a player? He does not. True true. But I'm just saying I would rather save the money and try to go get Anthony Davis. Here's here's the problem with that. What is Anthony Davis gets traded to the Los Angeles Lakers? I don't really think they're going to trade. Season set in the off season. I don't think you could take that risk is a team. You can't sit there and say, I hope and pray Anthony Davis a fridge, and we're gonna get him. I don't think you should go about things that way. I this off season for the New York Knicks you have to get to max players. Legitimate max players. I'm not talking about guys who were like fringe guys that you over go get. I'm talking to rant and somebody else. Now, if that's Durant. Kyrie irving. I think that's best case scenario. But I think if the Knicks miss out on carrier serving. They may pivot Campbell. Walker's plan bay. And I'll be with that till? Qua letter was being asked about his free agency today. And of course, he's very quiet that want to give you a whole lot. Stunning. Wise men in many words. Now, we've found out last year in San Antonio, many many words, I is it believable plan with the Knicks. Chance either going to pay more money. Stay with the Toronto. Raptors is gonna end up in Los Angeles, California kid, there have always been rumors linking him to the Lakers clippers. If Cohen is not back in Toronto next year. Quieter ends up in Callie now within the bags and not with the Brooklyn nets. Let's head to Manhattan could Robert is up next out. So Robert L O J J. I I think I took a patriot. I really tuned in a lot to college basketball today, especially the Duke for a game. I have to admit I cannot tell her why. Especially to you. I did peaking at San Antonio, whoever the other team was I think it was what was saying idea. Go whatever I tune in for about eight minutes and said, okay, interesting goodbye. Yeah. I e exact same approach. Robert, listen. It wasn't terrible. It wasn't a total mockery just is in a product dead. At least for me in the first week, captivated my insurance as football. Oklahoma City and used it was more appealing on late night. Arizona state in Washington because I have no ties to Mike Hopkins was more interesting. And then at six o'clock. I mean, it was a cloud question. Duke Virginia was the game. I was looking forward to the most. So of course, I was going to be watching that. Okay. Let me ask you something about the twenty nineteen twenty twenty NFL season wedding. Do they come out with the schedules? I'm curious. I know that they that they do things like this. They decide who is he for example, who is the AFC east. Gotta be playing. I mean, I know that they rotate the division say so one year they play the NFC south of the NFC. Do you have any idea? I sure do. Oh, man. Sees this year will be taken on the entire AFC north. In also be taken on the entire NFC. So you get a chance to see the Cowboys. The giants the skins and the eagles Robert as far as the NFL schedule doesn't come out until about mid April. Now, always stick. It's confusing that they have the schedule come out before the draft. I figured you would want to do it after the draft. So if you wanna match up to appealing rookies, if it's this if it's that you can do so after the draft and after free agency, but they do so like mid to late April usually like a week before the NFL draft and the question going to be for you New England Patriots because they will host staff first game that Thursday night always going to be the team going into New England. And I'm gonna give you two dark horse candidates because don't take you will be Kansas City. I think they'll save that game for later in the year. I don't think. Obi. Pittsburgh. I think they'll save that game for later in the year. I think it could be the Cleveland Browns who go to Gillette stadium this year. Everybody's all in on Baker mania Baker the Browns, they play well down the stretch the other team, I think they might look to us. The New York Giants why? Because if they're not sold on what kind of year the giants are going to have. They could have the giants angels stadium against the team that played them in a couple of Super Bowls. I didn't the NFL would be in love with that. I did don't be surprised at how giants pats week one. What about Dallas? They saved the Dallas game for later in the year. And the less time New England in Dallas played the game was in Gillette or it was down in Dallas, excuse me. So be back at you. Let I don't think they burn that bullet week one. I mean, you'd think about the Cowboys patriots that's game. That's going to be nationally televised. That's the game that phonics CBS NBC is going to be dying to have don't think they used that first game of the year. You think it would be Sunday night or Monday night game. That would be a match. Oh, definitely. I mean, I would not surprise me. And if it's not Robert dower be one of your Sunday four twenty five games on either. Fox's CBS for. Sure. All right. Well, listen JJ. Let's you know, what you know. Now, we have how many days to selection Sunday. As yourself baby inside forty days Rothstein is counting down. So I'm gonna have to find out on John rod stains Twitter. Let me know. So when do they have the what they call championship week where they go. They did where the different to go head to head. But where the different. You know, the the division. So they conferences whether the big east that is the week of Obama pulled off for you because I'm potentially going to be outlaws Vegas for championship league. That's not confirmed yet. I'm going to try to get out there. The week of the tent is when you have the big boys gone now a couple of the small conferences get going before the tent like you'll see a couple of those tournaments. Start the MAC usually starts early couple of the other ones start early. But as far as like, the the big east big twelve from the thirteenth to the seventeenth in that timespan. All right, JJ as usual. Thanks. You..

"That's kinda come up recently at big blue view and has come up throughout the two thousand eighteen season and recently during the off season and that is giants defensive end outside linebacker Olivier Vernon in just what kind of player Vernon actually is. This week. Pro football focus is going through its top one hundred one players of two thousand eighteen to this point as I tape this. The PF pro football focus has gone through from number one hundred and one to number fifty Vernon was named number seventy on that list. Really the second honor that Vernon has received this off season as he was also named a first alternate to the Pro Bowl where he as you know, ended up replacing Khalil Mack and actually playing in the game. There's a large segment of the giants fan base that just doesn't understand this love for Vernon. You know from the from the analyst community and from the NFL community itself. They look at Vernon's, you know, massive contract eighty five million dollars over five years. They look at the games. He's missed over the last two seasons. I think he's missed nine games. Total over two years. Both both times due to ankle injuries. They look at the fact that in none of his three seasons with the giants has he accumulated double digit sack totals. And they basically think that Vernon is an overpaid. Under productive player. The reality of it is a live EA Vernon is a very good football player. What he is not and never has been if you look back at his career in Miami. What he never has been is a dominant dynamic pass rusher. A guy who just blows people away off the edge. The way for example, that oh see you manure did for the giants back in his day. Vernon is a good football player. He's probably a guy who's not a number one defensive end. He's probably not a guy who should be the best player on your defensive line. The problem for me is in Vernon really the problem for me. Is that the giants don't have? Or haven't had the dynamic player. You know took pair with Vernon. And I know some people will say, well, they traded away J P P, which they did. And I supported that you know. But you know, when when the giants did have J P P he and Vernon did make a fairly dynamic pair in what the giants really need is someone who to pair with Vernon. This is a guy who he plays the run very, well, he does rush the passer. Well, he doesn't create a lot of sacks in Dan position. Did a thing. Recently at big blue view talking about pressure rates and pointing out that the giants were good at pressuring the quarterback. They just weren't good at actually finishing the play and getting the sack and in a lot of cases. That's the kind of pass rusher that Vernon is he can create havoc. He creates impact. He creates situations where the quarterback has to throw the ball quickly or has to get out of the pocket and move around. Hold the ball a little bit. But Vernon doesn't pile up the huge sack numbers for me. He's probably a number two on your defensive line. Not really a number one. He obviously, you know, as a number two with the kind of production that he's had he makes too much money. But I've said this before that's the situation. The giants were in back in two thousand sixteen they needed defensive players. They needed a quick infusion of proven defensive play makers. Vernon was the best available on the market as far as defensive end who could rush the passer at that point in time, and the giants paid what the price was to get him to come to New York. That's simply is how free agency works. So, you know, I don't know what's going to happen with Vernon. I don't know if he will be back with the giants next season. Obviously, we've talked at big blue view about the fact that if the giants were to make a living Vernon a post June one cut they would save fifteen and a half million dollars off the salary cap. Vernon carries. I believe in nineteen point five million dollar cap hit for the two thousand nineteen season. And that he's an awful awful lot. So we I don't know what's going to happen there..

"Review podcast. I am Dan position. Join tear by Chris Lomb today, who we are going to be just doing a quick just look back and review position by position little bit on the giants offense from the twenty eighteen season quickly just kind of overview the position what happened what we liked about the position what we didn't like about the positions. And then at the end just going to give us some quick, which is suggestions of what improvement. We would like to see on the authentic side of the ball at the end of the week. We are going to do this same structure for the defense. But today we are going to look at the offense. So you've ready to break that down Chris. Yeah, we're doing maybe a little bit late. But we had other things to take care of before we get to this like senior bowl that sort of thing. Yeah. I think we're we're at a good point right now where I think we're far enough removed. From the season that we can kind of have a pretty good step back. And now we're maybe far enough into the off season where we can kind of figure out what off season plans might start to look like. So that's kind of why we're doing this right now. And I'm for this offense. I think before we break it down completely reading just take a step back and look at what it was overall this year, so per football, outsiders, the giants were actually thirteenth in authentic Devi away in twenty eighteen. So they finished a lot better than they started. There was that stretch kind of right after the bye where they were in a little better. So they were only fifteenth in waited Devi. Oh, so that means they fell off a little bit at the tail end of the season. But they were fifteenth in passing offense, that's all Devia way an eighteenth rushing offense. So a lot of that though. I think comes from the big plays that were generated because the the down to down consistency. Just was not there. That's something. We've talked about a lot. I wrote about decent amount on on the website. So the giants were seventeenth in yards per drive and nineteenth in points per drive. So that's kind of where the fall off is there and how this offense played. So now that we had to have an overview we'll go into the positions. And I think the one place can start at one place where all of these conversations start in there the place where conversations will continue throughout the off season is going to be quarterback and ally manning. Yeah, that's pretty much where you have to start with any conversation about offense is with the quarterback. It's the most important position for reason. And. UI is he's going to be their starting quarterback at least to start twenty teen. It's unless he decides to call it quits and hang up the cleats. That's what's going to happen. And he's in a place where he's. I can't say he's really physically declined much. But then again, he never really set that bar particularly high. He never had a rocket arm. Even though he was a good deep passer. He was never what anyone except for maybe Peyton would call athletic. But he's really not making the best decisions as of late are either. So yeah, I think that's a lot of what the current version of ally. Manning is I think a lot of that is is in the decision making and just putting the whole package together. Just was not very successful the season to his twenty fourth in Devia way by ESPN's QBR, which again is more vote win probability Satistics. He was only twenty fifth in total QBR. I just fifty one point seven usually it takes quite a bit to get below fifty. So. So that's basically average but homos every quarterback is is above average. Now, just because of how how passing has exploded in passing efficiency is as high as it's ever been a so when you see people state things like ally had career high in completion percentage he had his highest yards per attempt in in four years. Yeah. But that's true. For literally every quarterback across the board. It's not just you lie. So you have to take that context when you look at at what he brought to the table in twenty eighteen and I think as we look in what we look at you. I think one of the biggest things people talk about is the authentic vine it..

"Manning who whether he's back in two thousand nineteen or not is is still open for debate. But he's he's closer to the end. You know, he's very close to the end of time with the giants. Does Daniel Jones to the giants make sense to you. And does Jones have the personality to deal with with with the big city with you know, with the with the media presence in the New York, New jersey area. Does does that does him in New York sound like a good thing to you? Yeah. I don't see why wouldn't fit as I mentioned. He's a he's a smart guy. I don't just say that because he went to do. I mean, but. I've spoken to him. I've I've heard him interviewed a number of times. He's a bright guy who's majoring in economics. He's getting like a a minor or certificate in in marketing and management. So this is someone who you know, he understands I think he will understand the business of being a quarterback. And I'm glad you mentioned the Manning's not only has he been to the Manning's passing camp passing academy. Whatever you wanna call it. But he lie for for several years has has come to Duke to hang out over the summer and work with David cut clip. That's how that's how close cut cliff is with the with the manning family. And I'm I'm certain that Daniel Jones has been a part of those visits. So. I think Jones would have a really have a great mentor in ally. In fact, lies probably already meant toward him some because of that relationship that they've developed through through their shared head coach, David cut cliff. I can't think of any reason he wouldn't be able to handle the New York market, just just fine. Although obviously it all comes down to performance on the field. I mean, look if you take the kid in the first round, and he ends up being a starter. And leading the team having the team be successful. Everyone's gonna love him. It's gonna go great. And the media will be friendly. If on the other hand, you take them in the first round, and maybe he languishes a little bit. And he's not able to get the starting job. Or or the team is struggling with him at quarterback doesn't matter. How savvy he is dead matter. How personable he may be in an interview people aren't going to like it. So to me the question is how do you perform on the field? And and I feel like based on the success. He had a Duke and. What I've seen from him. I think Daniel Jones could be successful NFL quarterback. Sounds like you have read the New York media a little bit. It's all about winning baby. There you go. Hey, jason. I appreciate your spending some time with me dropping knowledge on us about Daniel Jones in if he happens to wind up in a giants uniform. Maybe we'll talk again, I love that. Thanks a lot. I appreciate you spend the time chatting with me. And and getting to know this kid because he's worth it. He's really worth it. Thank you. Okay. Giants fans. Great stuff from Jason about Daniel Jones coming up this week at big blue view. We obviously have the senior bowl coming up this weekend. And when it comes to senior bowl coverage. We will have quite a bit of that for you. We've actually already begun that over the weekend our quarterback guru, Mark Scofield took a very indepth. Look at all of the quarterbacks who will be performing in the senior bowl, including Daniel Jones. We will also have a look at the senior bowl the entire senior bowl roster from Dan position and Chris flim in a show on Tuesday..

First and ten from the Obama forty nine three fifteen to go third quarter Meyer in motion a lot of movement of front of self. Now he throws late look for Rambo in the end zone. Uh-huh. Cuyler Murray won the Heisman Trophy this year for the Oklahoma Sooners. In fact, made it back to back QB's coming out of oh, you does that mean then that teams out there in desperate need of quarterback are more inclined to look his way. He definitely put up big numbers. But is he built for the long haul in the NFL? It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. Thanks so much for tuning in. You can find me on Twitter after our s you wanna send your questions for ask Amy anything. That's the best way to do it. Or on our Facebook page look for the bright yellow box. And if you haven't yet voted for TD of the week while there are four different options coming from the four teams who won on divisional weekend in her heading toward the final four in the NFL. We'll talk a lot more NFL, but intil we can figure out who needs quarterbacks what they're looking for who might be available in this draft. And where he. Kind of feel like you have an incomplete picture moving forward. After a lot of teams that are searching. Let's welcome Dane ruler of the athletic. He's their NFL draft analyst getting set to put together his big draft publication and release it for for you for you who are draft geeks. Dane, thanks so much for a couple of minutes. So Cuyler Murray has declared for the NFL draft. We don't yet know what his future holds. But when you think about him as a potential NFL QB, what comes to mind. Well, there's so many layers to the collar Murray discussion and just talking about him translate into the pro game. I think first of all we have to talk about how the current state of the NFL is more open minded to a quarterback like Tyler Murray more so than ever before quarterback coming from a spread system likes to use his legs move around primarily out of shotgun. Big thing will be the size five nine hundred ninety pounds. We just haven't seen a quarterback have any sustained success in the NFL right with those types of miserable. I mean, you go back to Flutie the nineties, and you know, he had flashes here and there, but you know, it just it's a different different animal. We're talking about those types of dimensions, and maybe more. So than the worries about the height is the worries about the Bill than just holding up because he's near maxed out in terms of his how much weight he's gonna put on. He likes to use his legs move around. How it's been a after he takes hits. And you know, when we studied prospects you really to trust the tape. You know, that that tells you what he's going to be at the next level. And we Tyler Murray it's tough to do that because he played in a conference that didn't play defense and he played behind the best offense of line in all of college football. So with me, it makes it tough to really trust the tape and trust your evaluation. It's really going to be a fascinating conversation for NFL teams. You the next few months? When you think about him and his skill set as a young guy, that's one thing. But to think about that kind of a sustainable style of play is entirely different. I mean, there's already talk about how long Lamar Jackson can play the game that he's playing and not get hurt. How long do you think that lasts if a guy's playing like that? You know, it's something that if you're going to draft calamari, obviously, you're going to do it in the I if you know fifty picks somewhere, probably in the first round you have to be all in in terms of the play calling in terms of protecting him. You know, doing your best to get him outside the pocket, you know, helping him out. So it's not strictly just under center. Three five seven step drops. I mean, you really have to change your entire offense of identity, not only to fit the strength best. But just to protect him. You know, open up sight lines formed downfield. You know, get him in space where he can make defenders miss by a second chance throws off platform throws. You know, we see what happened homes is doing in Kansas City. And when you watch Tyler Murray, you see a mini Mahomes out there because he had a whip fern arm moves around those different arm angles and just makes things happen. But again, he played in the conference that really didn't prepare him. And we saw that in the Orange Bowl against Alabama where they two different types of speed on defense, Adam and it took him a little bit to adjust. So you know, if you're gonna draft a collar Murray, you have to be all in change, your offense, if identity and really helped him to have a prolonged career when you think about other quarterbacks that might be available in his drafted seems like this is the right one for him to go in the first round because there isn't a group like we had last year with five guys going in the first round who else stands out though in the quarterback classing. Yeah. That's a great point. This is the year for collar Murray to test the NFL waters, and you know, you could even though it's not a great quarterback class. Like last year the year before quarterback desperation in the NFL. It doesn't take a year off. And so there's going to be out there scouring the quarterback market trying to find their guy. And when you look at this quarterback class Dwayne Haskins. I think. At the moment that Justin Herber decided to go back to Oregon. I senior year Haskins became the favor to be the first quarterback drafted. There's some questions about lower body mechanics. The accuracy, but he has a special arm. Fifty touchdowns this year worried about the inexperience only fourteen career starts you. Go back to nineteen Seventy-three. Here have been a hundred quarterbacks drafted in the first round only three of them had fifteen starts or less. So it's rare company for a guy with that little experience go with the first round. But I think he is a clear favourite the first quarterback drafted. And then after that you're talking about being Jones from Duke, Julie, walk from Missouri. I think those two are kind of in the pecking order along with Tyler Murray. Trying to be the second third fourth quarterbacks off the board. We'll be able to see through lock deemed Jones next week in mobile at the senior bowl. Great chance to see them. Both on the same field at the same time to evaluate their skill sets. Because they're different drew lock is. A Derek Carr. Type. He's got a big arm moves. Well. Pretty about some of the decision making. But he has a golden arm with Daniel Jones doesn't quite have that same arm, but he's more cerebral passer more accurate passer at the David cut cliff connection will be mentioned quite a bit. When we talk about Daniel Jones, you see the the manning mannerisms with the way he holds the ball in the pocket is movements. All that. So if you're in need of a quarterback this year, you know, it's it's not as good as last year the year before, but they're still talent here. So you're going to be working overtime to try and figure these guys out Dame burglar is with the athletic as an NFL draft analyst. This is his time to shied we're getting so close again to the combine, and then workouts, and before you know, it the draft will be here. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio thinking back to your expectations for the five quarterbacks that were drafted in the first round a year ago or not quite a year ago. All of them saw time on the field. We even had one get into the postseason. So how did they compare to? To your expectations of them coming out. I think Baker Mayfield surpassed expectations, and you know, that's hard to say about the number one overall pick. But I mean, he broke Peyton Manning's rookie passing. Touchdown record. You know, I can't really say enough about what Baker did especially once. You Jackson was fired and pretty kitchen became to play caller, and how the entire offense changed, and you know, it's just it's really going to be exciting to see FREDDY kitchen now the head coach still going to be calling plays in Cleveland. How that plays out? That's going to be a lot of fun. You look at Sam darnold in New York up and down but the flashes especially down the stretch in the final few games. That's what your banking on him getting better and better and better. I, you know, I think last year at this time Sam darnold was the favourite to be the first quarterback drafted. I still think he has a chance to be the best quarterback from last year's group. But it's just we knew it was gonna take time. And so, you know, hopefully jet fans or a little patient with him. It's gonna take a little bit and the. Same thing could be said with Josh Allen. And Josh Rosen two guys that showed potential with rose in the didn't have a great supporting cast. There's a reason Zona picking number one overall this year, they were not a good football team. We'll see how the cliff Kingsbury higher. How that might change in aid his development as a quarterback? That's really going to be an interesting domino to see how that plays out. And then you know, Lamar Jackson the one quarterback rookie quarterback from the first round. That didn't make the postseason. I still have major questions about his accuracy outside the numbers down the field at something that teams are going to fall off season study Lamar Jackson and prepare for him and his legs and help Baltimore used him. If Lamar Jackson is going to be have that long term success in the NFL. He has to become a better passer, especially again outside the numbers toward the sideline downfield. You know, it just it's all about taking positive steps for him eager to see all these guys in your two for sure. Are we as you mentioned? Freddie kitchens, obviously, new new coach in Arizona as well in clip Kingsbury. And so they're a bunch of guys are going to be going through transitions and having different voices in their heads in the second year who are some of the other candidates to be the first overall pick. I think the the favorite is Nick Bosa from Ohio State, he was the favorite soon as last year's draft ended the two thousand eighteen draft. Nick Bosa was the favourite to be the top pick. And he got hurt and third game of the year. Had a core injury required surgery probably could've came back in November December, but he decided to just, you know, prepare for the combine we have. So the medical at the combine are going to be paramount to Nick Bosa. He's basically a carbon copy of his all pro older brother, Joey. But the medicals will be a question Mark it really not just about Nick. But Joey is miss time with a various injuries, most notably his foot. Their father was a former first round. Pick in nineteen eighty seven in the Miami dolphin played only two years because of injuries. It's something you have to worry about. And it's something that will be interpreted differently belt or two teams. But when you look at the cardinals they have a number one overall pick. It'll be interesting with this quarterback group. Is there a quarterback that's going to cause one of these teams? You look at the giants at six the Jaguars at seven the Broncos at ten the dolphins. A redskins. Is there a team desperate enough for their quarterback that they're going to trade up into the top three picks to get that quarterback? History tells us it's going to happen over the last twenty years we've had at least one quarterback going the top five picks. The only the only year we didn't was thirteen. So history tells us that team is going to trade up for one of these quarterbacks. Could it be the number one pick, and you know, Arizona they're going to be open for business have a lot of needs. They do maybe quarterback isn't one maybe it is one. But they have a lot of holes to fill for sure. And in Kingsbury next first season, I should say, Dan. Positions that are draft heavy where there could be a wealth of guys coming into the league. What are a couple of those positions. Well, it starts on the defensive line. You know, mapping out. My top fifty overall draft board the first fifteen sixteen picks seven eight of them on the defensive line loaded class, I mentioned Bosa. He's the top guy the clear number two guy, at least in my eyes Quinton Williams defensive tackle from Alabama so dominant this year against the pass against Iran power quickness instincts..
