"But I go into the Flint visitors, I hold a couple ahead of me and they're asking for a room in the gas I'm sorry. A lot of conventions were sold out. So they walk off and I come up and I flip them home. You remember they were holiday and gold card. And so I do it up there with my credit card. And I said, I'd like to read. You got a reservation. That's a book that's one of president Bush showed up because it was the old man. Would you be able to accommodate him? He laughs, he said, well, I probably find so much but he's not coming, man. Why don't you give me what you gonna give him? And he laughed, he said, I got one room for one night, but you got to check out tomorrow when I said, sure, so I gave him a credit card, and you know, once you get into a hotel with a credit card, it's an act of Congress to get you out. So I didn't check out till a few days later. But if I had one word of advice for Jim, it would be to ignore sling blade and the other better rats that are coming at him and just Jim B Jim. Thanks for taking my call. Just a few seconds left, but we'll give Iman the final word here from Vegas. Look at that. I'll tell you what Las Vegas is the only place in the country where you can see your shadow on the sidewalk at midnight. And they're done that stated flamingo is a great experience. You know, it's kind of listening to GMS they going off on everybody and I figured out what is what his injury was. His mama was whipping his ass for all their lives and when she washed his mouth out his mouth out with soap. He couldn't take it because he swallowed it and guess what? She whipped his ass some more. I mean, we'll have to be that'll be the final statement. We are done. We're out of time. The draft starts in an hour. We'll be back here tomorrow to recap it. Have a great night..

"We welcome you back. We have a couple more guests to go, but still time for you to get in. Here's an 8 by 5. Two four two 7. Two 8 5. Matt is up next in D.C., Matt good afternoon. Hey, Paul. Thanks for taking my call. This is my second time around here. I called a couple hours ago and I think you had a hard time hearing me. Right, right. Can you hear me now, okay? Yeah. Yeah, it wasn't your fault. I had to interference here. Okay. All good. All good. Hey. Thanks for the call. Thanks for taking the call first time caller. I wanted to get your take on a couple of SEC wide receivers in the draft. I am a Chicago Bears fan. And there's buzz connecting them to George pickens. And possibly John mitchy and wanted to get your take on the two of them if you felt like 1 may be more day one ready than the other. And then just sort of ironically in connection with pickens, the bears have actually taken a shot at a couple of former bulldog wide receivers in recent years. Riley Ridley, I want to say it was a third or fourth round pick. Javon wims was a 7th, neither of them worked out well in Chicago. So in a bit of a humoristic way, I'm a little gun shy because of that I'm picking, but great player. I know all these guys, but I am in no way an NFL expert. But trying to answer your question objectively, I would take George pickens. I thought he was a phenomenal talent who at times was a little bit all over the place, but in terms of raw talent, I think he's phenomenal. If he can stay, stay healthy, which he obviously got hurt. And completely dedicate himself. Hey, thank you very, very much for the call. Let's continue with Jeff, who is next up. Hey, Jeff. Go right ahead. It's the whole study on what goes on Vegas stays in Vegas is that out of fashion. Right. That's exactly right. I heard you on the wall of the show just this morning is talking about Pete Rose and getting set outside the hill. Oh yeah. Some of the stories they tell would have did he ever tell the story about Joe manager when his Vietnam? No, he did not, but I would like to hear it if you know it. Well, I can't keep Paul's kind of ugly what he was telling, but Joe DiMaggio last year to pour water over this out of the jungle. He said rather I'm talking about it in the jungle. He said, a major warning reporter or running as you took a shower. And you can imagine what he was talking about, but paid rose hitting hearing Pete Rose describe it and talk about everything that went on. You got to Google it or YouTube it sometime. Check it out. You better believe it. I will do it during the next call. Hey, thanks so much for the call. I appreciate it. Jamie is up next in Tennessee. Hello, Jamie. Hey, Paul, how are you? Jamie, we're doing great. Thank you. Well, first of all, I want to say if you haven't been to the back and all in the seizures, you need to go to that buffet, it's excellent. That Caesar's, okay, it's right across the street from where I am right now. Yeah. It's awesome. But what I called about was, you know, we talked before, I hope you remember me. Of course. My girls, my girls did get in it by Emma and they're going to be in flag. We talked about that before, but anyway, what I called you about was one of piggyback a little bit on legend. I'm gonna go legend on you for a little bit. Very with me. Please. Jim, Jim. Please go get yourself checked out and see what the hell's wrong with you. So you can get re admitted and get the crazy house on the tea town campus back open so you can be the first to admit it. Did you need help, brother? And we all need Jesus, but I believe you need Jesus just a little bit more. And as a Bama fan and the way he talks, there's no way he knows anything about sports because I listen every day for the last 15 years and I listen to you in Birmingham when nobody knew you. Nice and wide. And then needs to get it together and quit thinking about the glory days is he wants to call it and get in tune with what's going on. Well, I don't know if he'll take that advice, but I certainly appreciate you calling. What's that? I just hope that they listen to me. They gave you that raise that I wanted you to get last time. You better keep calling them, okay? Hey, thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Thank you. Apparently, someone would like to respond to that call and others, Jim. Do you believe that do you agree with that redneck? It said, I don't know, nothing about ball, and he's heard the show for 15 years. What are you getting even more on? That's another third from the bully who thinks he's a bully. He's like this so called radio terrorist legend and that jerk that just came in with him. That must be his brother in law. He's like, I'm scared of him. Yes, I can't get anything on me. You think they're as good as me on knowledge? These are dumb ass rednecks, and you know it, Paul, and you never, you really don't like to protect me 'cause I'm hated. I know that, but I'm the best. I'm the goat. I'm the gold on the show you moron. I want you to ask this question, bob. Was that guy? Was he right? Do you agree with him that I know nothing about sports? No, of course not. What my teeth, where do these right in this? I can't believe that some guy that would even say that he just let it go. You've heard me say this before. I think sometimes when you don't respond to someone, it gives it less attention than you do by responding. Well, not in my case of replying to him, maybe in your case of being the host, but you usually respond to a man when he's insults me. I don't want to make it like you're against me, but it seems like sometimes you really are. Well, I'm not against you, Jim, but I just, I sometimes, I'm intuitive when the call comes in and sometimes it just didn't seem like it was really worth responding. What can he possibly mean when he's so obnoxiously wrong when he says, I need to get myself checked in, check out and I don't know, nothing about what I'm talking about. That guy, if there's ever a fool, that guy's a fool. Would you agree with that? But Jim, this is about the 20th time I've asked you this question, but I'll ask it, again, why do you care what some guy that you don't know and nobody knows says about you? What is regent care? Allegiant. He's not legend. Why does legion care when he comes in every day? Because he's a thug. And he cares what I say. And he's going to take an order and tell me, that's an order don't call anymore. What a joke that guy is. He's a complete joke. I used to handle bullies like him in school. They landed hard, Paul. They landed hard. That guy, he thinks he can bully somebody because he's a former comedy comedy. That's what he thinks, but he's long and he'll find out someday somewhere along the line. How long he is. Thank you very much, I appreciate it. Why don't we just take a break? Don't you think we need one? Heading to the break. We're under two hours before the first pick here. You are listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. A truth nears.

"We did it again. Live on youtube. So don't say anything might get. You don't get you in trouble all right. We were there people watching actually the people that are watching our the only people were actually able to tell people that are watching less because we get no numbers from serious so it's like could be one clube. Two million have no idea how many people listening on sirius. it's basically. Is anybody out. The we have no idea. So we appreciate you joining us here. peyton manning kicking you out of a film room is awesome him teach. Do walk through even better what you do on. Tv really cool. I think thai because how good you are on television ties said. I can't wait the day to ask. Dan orlovsky this question. I loved him. Who doesn't love dan. But dan i jordan love look pretty good the other night with the exception of the strip sack and getting dinged up a little bit but then on. Espn this morning. I see you know everyone's saying that. All of the packers are in trouble if he if he's not ready to go and that the packers also aren't really happy was his development right. Now what did you think after watching that game like i mean. Is this more of a project and a lot of people in anticipated. I thought i looked fantastic for being the first time he played live on six hundred three days who is a first time. He played live over six hundred days. And i thought he was lights out. That baldini throws the thurber down the third and acres awesome. I'd say the biggest difference that stood out to me from his college tape and watching that game. The other night was a rhythmic. He was you know he looked very rhythmic. And when i say that every everything seemed to be tied together you know. His drop was tied to the route concept. And that's rare for young quarterbacks for chicago isn't pleaded done because you always revert back before habits or habits that are part of your past music. Ruckle speeding things up or taking an extra h- h when you're not supposed to get you know hopping with the football and then your blink and then oppose placed. We're not supposed to be someone's breaking up. I thought was incredibly rhythmic. And that tells me that he's got a really good deal for what they're teaching him. Thought he threw the ball well especially in their play action game also so listen we and anybody that was thinking he wasn't a project was miss Informed and that's on them also. This was the plan. I truly believe. This was their two year. No seven hundred thirty day land for green bay when they drafted him just to continue to take the talent and try to you know. Build it into this scheme that quarterbacks always cropped up in his scheme always every quarterback has ever played in the system plays better than their talent actually is and i think if i'm green bay sitting there going after game one. I'm very very pleased with the way he looks. So aaron rodgers isn't as good as he looks. What do you mean you just said with a very broad. brush him. Ask every quarterback that plays in this scheme plays better than they actually are with a broad brush. She said every single one so whenever you say that. I can't help but think to myself us. Roger stinks makes him good as what you know. That's exactly what i said I think that kirk cousins goes from good quarterback. We had a really good season. Jimmy garoppolo goes from solid quarterback who good quarterback ryan. Tannehill goes from a bus to a top ten player. Baker mayfield goes from you. Stink to twenty touchdowns in nine hundred. Aaron rodgers at the age of i think errands thirty seven thirty eight. I think throws forty eight touchdowns in run away run. Mvp so what. i'm saying. Is it takes quarterbacks with where they are and it elevates them and he's gonna throw for a hundred touchdowns on a two year span so errands. That's not me saying is not remarkable. Dudes unbelievable forty eight touchdowns in his agents ridiculous really cool thing you did there was you said gray tabby back. You're on siriusxm channel. Eighty two the conversation with Dan orlovsky continues here as we wrap up beautiful. Our two on this tuesday august seventeenth. Two thousand twenty one. I think the fascinating thing that dan just did during the break and sirius xm listeners. I will bring you back up to speed real quickly. He talked about the scheme. being used. that jordan got a chance to execute after six hundred and three days of not playing football. And then he said the scheme actually makes quarterbacks look a lot better than they might actually be and then he rattled off a group of people to put into one bucket. Okay right he's kirk cousins. Whenever you got in this game became great. Great quarterback offset baker. Mayfield jordan lov g jimmy garoppolo and then obviously aaron rodgers. You know so. Dan i think i think i think it's fascinating to think that that's game just makes you better because i think all of those guys have kind of water has found level. Has they like jordan love. Then do you see jordan. Love potentially being a trade piece for one of those other offenses who created the offensive scheme that it is is that shanahan's thing is this who who who made this offense and made every quarterback successful. And what doesn't everybody do this. Well i think. It's mike gary kubiak scheme from thirty years ago. The difference between nowadays in that scheme is kyle matlock floor have brought new age Found foundational pieces of offensive philosophy meaning against space utilization of space and utilization of pre snap and that snap motion but still with the starting points of that run game married with that play action past bootlegging. Those are two different things as well. So those guys built it. They built kids and now those guys are constantly evolving. They're not resting on it. There's they're constantly evolving into modern day. Football do i think that jordan love could be intrigued piece. I said this last week people didn't i don't know if they didn't appreciate it but like i don't think what jordan love does this. Preseason has a tremendous amount of impact on what the packers plans are. next year. i think what aaron rodgers does end or chooses to do completely controls. What the packers do a quarterback next to you. I do believe. I thought i thought nothing happened other. Aaron wait now wait a minute Oh no you everyone. Aaron does control. What's going on in the future. If he wants to stay right did he not say that. He's going to leave that open. Well yeah contract but you said nothing happened. From the entire thing said was he did not get ideally wanted which was again corinth rewards.

"This is the same thing we watched tony games of last year's i don't know if they're championship team. Like i just don't know how what can have what has transpired over the last four months. Why could sit here and say like no doubt their championship team. Because there's those things that you can't measure that matter and this is football. That has not focused on football over the last four months at least in the forefront while tampa has in seattle has in the rams have in washington has like those teams have been locked in on football and and in green bay. Has it and i think they're scheduled very difficult. I think two things that really. I'll be folks. Because i think they'll be really good. But when a bunch of games all that stuff like is there a different sentence by everybody you know like well. The coaches coaches certain situations differently. Because of we got one last year like four down not just bringing this title game that that feels like a regular season. They'll be more aggressive in certain situations because they only they know they have a smaller window. And then how often do they keep the main thing the main thing. And that's winning you know. We've we've watched them bring randall. Cobb back brian cousteau general andrew said yeah it was because you know aaron wanting back wall that keeping the main thing the main thing like how does it all work together because there might be decisions throughout the season for moments or the season. We're like do they do things or say things or make decisions based upon. This might give us the best chance to keep him around after this year. Or does it get give is the best chance to win. Sometimes they'll those will align and sometimes they won't. Yeah it's tricky you know when the gm we applaud rogers because of full transparency at his press press conference when the gm..

"Michael was going to lean on some and have those three pieces. Not in place that's unreal. I mean obviously real life versity with his passing but also just football adversity. With with zach wilson. Who should trade for shawn watson and when is when is when you are one hundred percent sure of what is going to happen with the off the field allegations. I don't think you can be ninety percent. I think he'd rather be late to this party. Then early Because what the allegations are real real stuff right. So i think you've gotta be really confident in the information that you get whether it's your your own people and what's going to happen or word from the nfl. I think the teams that are attached to him or the to players. Whether it's philadelphia or miami you know both had the capital to do so going into next year's draft both. Have you know somewhat question mark at the quarterback position. I think jalen hurts is a guy that we've only seen get better over the last four years. We've watched him play football. Whether it was at bama oklahoma or last year. And i i love the kids. And i love his attitude will he continued your progress good enough to be a thrower and then for miami they. This is a huge year for two off whether it's expedited or not. It's huge. I mean they spent four picks or three picks on their offensive line and last year's draft. Those guys are going to be much better performance wise this year and then those still position players. They've got four guys that are good players man five days. Parker is a good player. Wattle is going to be an impactful guy You know will fuller. When he's healthy can go in those two tight ends. He's phenomenal and hunter long at boston. College really really good player. So i think they got some really good scopus as you guys got to go and play really good football dinner. Lobski of the mothership. This saturday. "He says singular phenomenon but in the team concept. I just don't see it. And i wonder if they're playing half court basketball. How does he fit in there. He's great in transition. i just don't know. Can you be in transition with a thirty seven year old. Lebron james your point guard kouzmin. I think had to get out because he'll flourish. I do. I think that he needed to get out of. La for his own good he may not realize that but he will be needed to get out so okay stop being the laker off the court as well play basketball be great. You've shown signs that you can be a very good player and maybe develops into something special but you know mantras herro. You're not gonna miss him. I mean maybe depth wise but he add one more year caldwell pope. I like a lot i do. I think he's very valuable undervalued but to get russ. I wanted buddy healed because putty healed is buckets man and you got to have that guy. Who's a legitimate lethal. Three point shooter. And he's a lot younger than russell westbrook. But maybe you couldn't get him. Maybe the king said. Hey you're offering that. It's basically what they offered the kings for buddy heeled they sent that to washington for russell westbrook yama glove so we were going to do the poll. Who would you rather having lakers russell. Westbrook or buddy he'll polly. She has a case for westbrook. He's the only one in the room who does okay. I'm not especially russell. Westbrook phanor detractor. But if you look at the lakers one of the big issues is there to star players need time management. You health issues. Davis has health issues. Lebron needs time off management's russell westbrook the none of that. He rarely gets injured and he rarely sits out. He plays the past eight years..

"Tv yesterday's wearing a polo in the morning on. Get up. He had an incredible tan. Him and tannenbaum said just wildly outrageous things back and forth to each other then in the afternoon on. Nfl live after the show looking. Great sport jacket on over. Top of the bolo wonder if he was told to put the jacket on. Okay because in the morning actually said. Dan looks good in a bowl of good tanna and he was. He was rolling his eyes dinner. Orlovsky comes back on the show. I cannot wait for dane or slavsky to bounce back every time we talk to him. He says something. That makes us all come on dan and then also something goes good point then dan as captivated the masses over there. Espn he was on every show there for five six months straight. Basically literally ever show you do. I think you do k. g. z. Then he would do get up then. I think he'd do sportscenter then he'd do. Nfl live and then scott van pelt was like. Hey why won't you come. And just sit in the back and hang out for a little. He was on. Espn all day. Every day. for a while he has taken some breaks too long. I can't see what's cooking in his brain. What stupid stuff is he going to say today because what you said on twitter about him potentially topping shrugs whenever shrugs put rivers in which by the way go colts coach forever coke supplyhouse people forget that but when schrager said that earlier this week you said and you think that dan orlovsky will be able to top what schrage said about adding rivers to the payton. Tom brady aaron rodgers. drew brees phil rivers. You think that. Dan orlovsky potential comes with something a little hotter than that at boston on your lead him there but there is a chance i asked him. Hey dan wise mack jones going to win the mvp this year. God here way as to say the film that he has watched. He's writing if you you couldn't really see last year because cam and that offense or wasn't a lot of weapons but if you look at the concepts that new england was running and then you add in mac jones's ability to baba he'll be able to piece together a seventeen in oh season for the new england patriots mack jones. They've got a really good often von connor. I mean you need to understand that. What the running game that they have end the new weapons doing mack jones quarterback if you look at his skill set very comparable to other quarterbacks that have been able to dominate with tight ends as he was called. Tom brady for a reason. And that will start our entire conversation with them about okay. You have tom brady and he too. 'cause you stand you throw right handed your white your quarterback they are you. Have tom brady and you too or tom brady. Potentially what's in between the ears that we all got to try to figure out if he got her to question. He'll say you write about. Tom brady but i'll say this he has peyton manning's accuracy do it. Maybe we don't know he. We haven't heard his most recent film. Study on mack jones and i do believe by the way the danner lobski is either on television. Okay trying to round up his forty five children trying to keep up with his wife. Yep okay because his wife seems to be the real engine. In that whole jack member she was going through corentin pranking orlovsky four content on the internet before he was getting ready to go on on water also and then i think he just watches film on quarterbacks he always sounds in. I think today's finally today. I'm gonna ask him if he's full or not. This is kind of like what foxy did. This will foxy did hammer down boys. Who will get to here in a couple of seconds tour in in in indianapolis and boys are back being hot. We'll talk about that in a second. But i'm gonna ask lobski. There's no way he watches the mound film. He watches out. I mean how many kids he has like who has who has time. He seems like a early to bed early to rise. Kinda guy too. Yeah he's got to get all that in before his kids. Get up exactly as lacrosse practices. A week i mean come on. There's no way this guy can bland. What he's moving on that premier league lacrosse marci every single day. He's got to get that out of the bag onto his body onto his head. Like there's no unless zeon you think he's on his phone and then if he's on his phone watching it while he's at his kids practices e bad guy so we kind of put them in the case we kind of put them in a pretzel. Yeah i'm excited for that. That's happening one. Oh five eastern daylight time you becoming on. I love talking to dan. Dude us isla j- danner lobski much like phil mickelson much. Like oh god who was. It has no well has boola. Does peter schrager. Yes yes thank. You not has has he has he has as well but schrager phil mickelson. Dan orlovsky they've all looked into mere and bought into exactly who they are absolutely confident in it as they should be absolutely comfortable in it and they are them all the time. Schrager is going to. He's a little cooler than everybody else. Okay he's going to. He's going to say some tv stuff. He's always going to be the same person. Know schreyer's always phil mickelson has learned how to just be. I'm phil mickelson. Yeah this is what. I do okay. Aleisha seeds bombs coffee. cavs flexibility. All this other. This is what phil mickelson. His orlovsky knows. This is what the lobski is at the and he is always dan. I caught him on vacation. I caught him on vacation. Where at the same places the same fucking guy. I mean it was. Let's go in. When i was a teammate with them same exact guy but whenever you get on tv. I think some people tried to potentially change. Who and what because of how they think there should be portrayed or everything like that. Dan lobski has maybe tightened it up a little bit diluted in a little bit but he is fully bought into who he is and he is all the time so those who hate him like you have to lease appreciate his consistency in for those of us that like. Suzy says something. That is completely fucking absurd. We go It's that's daniel danner loss. I've been meaning to ask you that. The first time we ever had him on the podcast you know he was just like very quiet. Very dry like no energy or anything like was that him putting on for like what he thought was supposed to be who he is now. Is that moore who he was like when your teammate and your friends the exactly yeah because you hear everybody who's like if you're friends with them he's this right if he knows you he's this type of guy he likes us this type. A guy like there are people that are like that. And i think i mean on on air and off air. I am the same person but it's only with so i'm only around so many people right like if i'm around new people i think people would think much different they. I'm rather quiet whenever around new people. Because i don't want to. I have no idea how this could go. I don't know them okay. They probably don't know me. Obviously i don't know how this do they hate me. Potentially who do they know. I don't know some normally pretty quiet in reserve. But then i. But dan i think he was trying to portray what he thought he should be on. Tv and he started out on twitter and he started doing breaking down film right classic. I mean there are some other people that are doing that for then then you know he started getting there and i remember him coming on the show because i loved watching it because he was teaching me something in these little film studies but it was fucking ben stein doing a thing. I remember saying dan like. Hey we're going get some energy innocence. And then he has..

The story early chains guarding it out making the return from a hamstring. He would play most of the night he would struggle particularly first half gophers six from the poor with two turnovers presence. Team to lift is deep. He was out there doing good but the nets would struggled mightily in the first half down. Sixteen into the third week and kevin durant would say this is about to become line night here. We got durant in the lane. Plays it up in good news just getting started ensuing possession durant in transition. This was his running mate last night. Jeff green seven eight from three twenty seven points nets creeping back into it. They're down nine final minute of the third durant. Good the six point game into the fourth quarter under nine to play now with into the rain using the screen. My goodness that's their first lead since it was two nothing just over five minutes now. What a game nets lead by one the rain mid range over middleton yes. That's why three a buck twenty to go down by two janas goes to the line again down by two crowd smelling blood. I one no road. He'd make a second to one point game under a minute ago. Still one point track clock winding down. Here's the biggest moment of the night. "You finally needed me. Dan Orlovsky, the great analyst for the Mothership. NFL Live continues daily throughout the entire off season at four Eastern on ESPN, Catch Dan with Adam Schefter. Marcus Spears, meaning times Laura Rutledge, four. P. M. Eastern daily on ESPN. Dan. Thanks for joining us. Did the Cowboys have a great day? Yesterday? The Cowboys did not Jack Prescott did Jack press cop Doc Prescott. His family did. But this is a big time swing and miss for the Cowboys. I think that they took a calculated risk. You know, they tried to be patient and patient and patient and didn't want to do something like the Rams and the Eagles did. But man, that is a ton of money to give that Prescott What should the expectation Level B for cowboy fans this year? This year. It Luis, You're stuck in second round of the playoffs. Sniffing your NFC championship game, You know, like here's Here's. This is what my comment is with this, and it's the old saying too much is given much is expected. This is why I was very cautious of giving Dak Prescott a ton of money or second most quarterback money. It's going to impact your football team and we can't snow sit here and say, Well, he's really good. But the expectation status, saying the expectations have to be elevated. Not only individually Hey, what are left tackles out. We still have to win the game on the road against the New York Jets because they stink or when we don't have a Mark Cooper. We still got to play good at the position because you're supposed to be And a difference maker. When it comes to the finances. It's a bad division. I still have to wait to see what happens in Washington at the quarterback spot. If they got a quarterback that I thought was a good player arrived. Patrick I think that I would favor them to win the division because I think Dallas still has issues defensively Offensive

Carson Wentz would prefer to leave Philadelphia Eagles, but team is not looking to trade him, per report

"This is the saga that we've been covering forever right carson. Wentz coming off terrible year. You know that he got benched. You'll see all the numbers and it was just awful but when they made the choice to fire the coach and bring in frank. Reich's assistant nick serianni. We figured well at the end of that is coming back in philly. Adam schefter yesterday said maybe not so fast wants. Leave the franchise. That's why the trade still employ. This is a real and this was made up and just because he would like to be moved doesn't mean he will be if i had to guess i would guess he is traded. That'd be my guess. Okay at some point this off season but again. they're not just going to train them just. They're not looking to get rid of him. They're not shefty. I shefty speech. The world listens and dan. Orlovsky we've not had you on this yet today. What is your reaction to this idea that it seems at least from the outside like the eagles have probably done just about everything he might have wanted and he still wants out agree with them. Schefter i think carson wentz wants away from philadelphia for a long time. People thought well he wants away. From doug peterson i think he wants to wait from the city. I think he wants away. From the organization. Greenie do speak so loudly. I need not hear what you say. And we live in a time frame and society where it's the easiest time ever to make some form of statement and carson had two opportunities to do that his first head coach in the. Nfl was fired. He had the opportunity to post something on twitter. Post something on instagram. Saying you're my. I said coach ever in the nfl while it didn't work out the way we wanted to for the long run. I'm forever thankful for our time together. Well then we move on and they hire a head coach. Nick serianni another opportunity to make some form of statement some form of. I'm looking forward to the future. New new beginnings fresh start excited to work with you and nothing for those two reasons. I'm sitting back and going carson. Wentz doesn't want to be in philadelphia. Maybe it wasn't as tight to doug peterson and it is tied to the organization and what has transpired over the past couple of weeks past couple of months. I can tell you this. I had a coach call me last week and spend twenty minutes on the phone with me asking about what my thoughts were with carson. Wentz the good and the bad why. It went south this past season because they've got a high level of interest in them and i think two teams. That should be calling our indy in chicago. Both of them have a win. Now defenses and both of them have some form of a tie in the past with carson wentz being frank reich and indian john d. filipo in chicago so i agree with this Shefty i think it's more likely. He gets traded than not.

Bears announce coach Matt Nagy, GM Ryan Pace will return after 'impressive' finish to 2020

"Apparently matt nagy is going to make it to next year. The bears are gonna keep him the head coach. The general manager ryan pays. Who may have been more maligned than nagy. Decline the fifth year option trubisky. But it's still an option to bring him back in some way our jeff dickerson who covers the bears is essentially reporting. Nagy and pace will be back. Our dan orlovsky is voicing his opposition. What has matt nagy done as for his a an organizer as far as a leader as far as a person with foresight within their organization to say yes in that head coaching role. We love them. Now we're going to allocate some of the play calling responsibilities or the offensive viewpoint. Who are we going to give that to. And what has matt nagy done within. That building approve on great in this role. I understand what dan is coming from. But i think in this situation. He has a winning record. Chuck pagano is retiring as a defense coordinator so he's got to his staff and his thought process in his thinking. Maybe there's a guy or two out there that is really good at calling. Plays really good at putting a system in place to make. Whoever the quarterback is going to be in the future for them successful. So i'm okay with them taking a look see. They just went to the playoffs. So you take a look in just poo. poo it. because you've got to restart things all over again when you completely blow everything up so give it a shot in twenty twenty one see where it's at. He's going to be before you make that decision and that move now mr bisky mitch. Trubisky is jockeying for position to come back and be the chicago. Bears starting quarterback again. Now maybe there's a small deal there because they didn't pick up the fifth year option. There's a small little deal. Maybe there's a two year deal. That is a proven deal that he can now show with a new office coordinator his abilities that he showed in north carolina and made them take him as a number two pick overall.

"Kurds on the top. I'm sure you know kate you like. I know we've asked amish chocolate. I've always been a chocolate guy shocking. But no i would say the birthday cake That i think that's what they call the birthday cake ice cream stuff. Oh yeah so. The lighter. The lighter ice cream with the but now i can't do. Frosting is yeah a must but also there's a thing called like a sock it to me cake like seven thing. It is super duper sweet as lot of butter sometimes. Put a little cinnamon on top. It is almost like a butter pound cake with like a little sentimental brown. Sugar low. this do you. Do you like the hot lava cakes. Detroit Lions cancel practice to speak out against Jacob Blake shooting

"The Lions canceled practice today to protest the shooting of Jacob Blake. Cell Phone video showed Blake was shot multiple times in the back by Wisconsin. Police his father says he's paralyzed from the waist down today. Instead of practicing the Lions chose to address reporters as a team in front of their building to deliver a message that they will be part of the change in the United States against police brutality. Here's quarterback Matthew Stafford on what the day meant to him. No football was talked about We were brought together and coach just open the floor. We knew they were going to be guys in there. That had heavy hearts and guys that had similar situations or close calls that have happened to them and needed to get it off their chest and and those conversations lasted for hours and it was incredible to part of just like it was all spring. but it was the first time that. You know we've we've really dedicated a chunk of time to talk about it when we're all in the building together you know we understand it about America and about. People in miracle is that. A narrative king, Carnegie shifty. We understand this sacrifice. You know. You might step on toes you might have some feathers but. In, order for change to happen or something to happen you know someone has to be uncomfortable in you. Know I think everyone inside these walls understand that understand what is going to come with the lasted make them with. A powerful statement from the Lions Today Marc Spears Dan Orlovsky Munich here on nfl live Marcus as you saw this unfolding just hours ago. What's your reaction? Is Important in looked the whole monographs stick to sports. Athletes in activism. The things that we talk about this is no longer a land that you draw and I know everybody likes to run and huddle away and say sports is supposed to be a refuge and let's just do sports and don't worry about these things going on what people have to understand is these situations affect the sportsman, the guys that are actually playing the Games. These are real life scenarios that they live through and I thought what Matt Staffer said was so important to listen to the stories of guys that have been through these types of situations before and have feared and the things that they express. So I think what the lines are are doing is admirable. It totally makes sense for the stick to sports crowd. Look you're no longer living in that generation. These guys have voices they want to use them to make us all better and I think everybody should attach themselves to that and applaud that as opposed to trying to find reasons why they should just play ball and not worry about the things that are happening in their communities.

I appreciate the column. I appreciate introduction. It Very humbling before we. I want to get into you. Know obviously is here and what you do it. Espn and how it all got started in your opinion on some NFL. Things got to start with this because there was a report from your colleague. Adam schefter recently about several front offices or multiple front offices or multiple teams Having interested in you in their front office vacancies Crazy how Adam schefter got that scoop. I don't know how he pulled that off. So what is there anything you could tell us on that front? Are you interviewing? Are you looking to get in front office? Is it something you'd like to do? What's going on there? Yeah I don't I don't think the shefty's reports anything about front office it did. I thought it said stuff about coaching. I have not been contacted by anybody in the NFL. In regards to a front office role I have had conversations and this really goes back giving twenty seventeen when I retired. I had an offer to go join a coaching staff. Right away to write that year pay. It was not the timing goes back to last year when I had two teams reach out One of them being packers come join our coaching staff. And I didn't feel right doing it then. And then this this year I had five teams reach out and I had some conversations with with some some places to potentially join a coaching staff and Multiple roles some offensive coordinator's role some non playcalling coordinator roles I'm not talking to anybody now that that kind of has settled down and that ship has sailed I coaching something. That's been on my mind. I could see me doing it in the future right now with what? I'm doing and kind of what I'm being afforded to do. I absolutely love it and I'm not looking to do anything else right now. Yeah I'LL I'll I I. I messed that up I I. It was front offices have contacted you about leave. Espn for offensive coaching jobs. That's that's what it was very flattering and I you know I look at what I get to do it. Espn is is very much a form of coaching. It's just different. Coaching in Different Your coaching different people more people than the intimate intimacy of a football team Could see myself doing future of course but I'm not looking to to go jump into that right now. Is a hypothetical if you were ever to take one of those jobs do you have a preference on I mean. Do you have to start out as sort of a quarterbacks coach are you a would you go right offensive coordinator? Would there ever be a situation? You envision like that or would you'd have to maybe move up to offensive coordinator by I don't know. Would you be a wide receivers coach or running backs coach? What would be the ultimate? You know role there. Yeah I mean the ultimate role would be a head coach. You know I had opportunities to go and be an offensive coordinator this year now. Two of those opportunities were non. Play calling offense of coordinators. Where like the head? Coach is the play caller. And they want someone who's going be their offense coordinator passing game corner all that stuff. Now I it's all about the right you know. Is it the right organization with the right head coach? And the right quarterback. That's GonNa Afford success because you know if you're going to get into coaching. You're obviously getting in one for the long term and to to try and climb as high as you can and do it in a relatively timely fashion in you know obviously your goal isn't to go cam just going to get into coaching head coach in two years. And then be done but you don't you know I don't he envisioned myself getting into coaching to try to be a an assistant coach for a decade either. And so with the right place right time right at coach and quarterback. I don't think getting into the quarterback coach has any negative aspect to it. Now right it let. Let's say I pathetically you became an offensive coordinator today of an NFL team. Any team doesn't matter. I'm just curious. Is there something you would want to implement? Is there something you'd think you know you would WANNA do? Maybe more. Is there a play a philosophy? Is there something you have that you think? No one's doing right now that you would wanna bring to the table. I don't there's nothing that no one's doing But I think that there's people who do it better for sure and do it more creative like I have said for. Gosh I WANNA say five or six years right now teams. That don't have the the the the Rob Gronkowski tight end of. The world are totally hurting their quarterback. They're just not helping their quarterback play as efficiently as possible because and I'm not talking about the talent of Gronk. Obviously that is rare right. I'm talking about the the ability of Gronk to be both tight end and wide receiver on every single play If you look at the teams that run really good offensive sets consistently. It is the Philadelphia Eagles. It is the Kansas City chiefs. It is the New Orleans saints with the Jimmy Games. Like you have to have that tight end for information and then match up and then I am. You know I. I look at football nowadays so different When it comes to the quarterback in skill people do believe that twenty years ago. Quarterbacks made other players around them better. I truly believe that nowadays the people around the quarterback make him better. And you can't just have one star or two stars. You have to have five or six really good players around him if you look at the past couple of super bowls in the past year. That offensive have been really good. It's the offense. Is that house five. Six seven skilled people deep because the game. Nowadays it's about space and it's about matchups and Those it'd be like the two focal points. The foundational views of my offense obviously dominant offense fine but when it comes to like the the past game in skilled play. It's not really about having one star the wide receiver position about tight end and then a job and a bunch of really really good skilled players. That deepens is just can't match up with. It is interesting because I I always thought the entire season with so many people talking about the quote unquote decline of Tom Brady I. I'd never thought there was enough attention. Paid to the fact that Gronk this year You know just a completely irreplaceable player on every level and yeah not just again not just the physical performance of Gronk but all the things that they did with grunk to figure out what teams were doing before the snap in. Yeah but then I'd anybody I mean. They had the performance of their skill people. I said this I think like we. Four was the number one issue with their offense. I think if you put Tom Brady on an offense that has four five multiple weapons that are good players again. These aren't superstars but they are really good players. Good good players. Tom Brady bill for forty five hundred yards and thirty five to forty touchdowns be interesting to see who he's doing it for next year. That's for sure you had an interesting spin on the Super Bowl where you thought Mike Shanahan Kyle Shanahan. I'm Sorry College Han You didn't think the criticism of him was fair. Is that a correct assessment. Not at all not at all I thought within I think. Kyle caps the chiefs in the football game. I thought there was a mismanagement of the clock at the end of the first half and then last week how came out and said well. This is why we did it. Because we were so conscious of their the explosiveness of the chiefs offense. We didn't want to give them the football back at the end of the first half. I had two gripes with that one. I think in the Super Bowl when you Feared the other team more than you believe in yourself or your team your coaching to lose your coaching not to lose and he said that the fear that he had of Kansas City was greater than the belief he had himself as a play collar or as or and they're player doesn't often the ability to execute an offense to if you're going to say that and that's your game plan all week as a team to handle the end of the first half cocked. That way there's absolutely no way that you kick a field goal in the second quarter on fourth and two under opening drive in the third quarter on your opening. Drive the second half. There's no way can do. You can't sit there day. We don't want to give them the ball back. We understand how explosive there on offense right but then feel good audit fourth in two kicking a thirty yard field goal like it. You're going to say they're so explosive on offense. You don't WanNa give him any time within. Your viewpoint has to be there so explosive on offense. That threes aren't GonNa win you the football game either. Four and five and seven. We could have a different conversation to I think he kept him in the game. The run on second and five near the end of the game with about six minutes to go one hundred percent. The accurate play. Call the right play called. They did the same set. The play of the series before they did a player can pass the kiddle conversion second five is Iran or passed down. You don't you as a defense. You don't know what they're GONNA do. You don't Wanna ask Jimmy G. to play dropback football on third down and yesterday quarterback to throw five yard pass now he had gone play action pass and took a shot down the field. We could add a different different situation here. We asked him to throw a play action. Pass those five yards down the field Chris. Jones has made a good player. But that's the right call right. It's this is why you know it's amazing. You're the I've heard. Nobody talk about the the field goal on the fourth in to there in the third quarter and I thought to me that was his worst play call of the whole game by far. I that you cannot kick field goals against the chiefs in that situation and to on something else you said. This is why you're the fastest rising stars. They said he was terrified of the chiefs at the end of the first half. And if you also you watch you know there was a great video the NFL released on Youtube of The the final minutes of the chiefs comeback and even when the chiefs scored the chiefs were coming. He was so scared. And that's because even makes a comment to whoever's in his headset about we you know we've only got five minutes here and that we can't get do he. He was scared and not aggressive. And that was. I thought way worse than any of the play calls like you said about the second down there where he threw it. That would be the niners fan. That was telling I thought it was rough. I agree I agree that and I know Carl I played for Kyle..

"Wanna have like a three PM drew lock study session to make sure Drew's up to speed and everything like to me? That's not Joe. Flacco responsibility. That's the quarterback coaches response by so what more are you looking for from Joe? Flacco. Yeah. I mean, we're obviously dissecting comment from him in, in whatever I there's an open book aspect of it, too, though. Like I had guys. I mean, no, I know John kitten is not Joe flacco. But I had John kitten willing he would just go to me, like, whatever you need just let me know we're here. Whatever, like there's any way I can help you let me know Matt shop was like that. Whatever you need. Let me know Peyton Manning in small way, was like that. Pay emitting went out of his way they'll Peyton wasn't playing it this time because of the injury. But Payton went out of his way multiple times. I started five games multiple times over those five games to share stuff with me to mentor me, so no, I'm not going. Joe flacco needs to have his sole focus on helping drew lock, but there also needs to be an openness, because again, if we're going to say, like, hey, we're gonna have three PM drew lock study meeting. Would you have the three PM? No offense study meeting. Would that be okay with that be something that would be expected of Joe flacco to be like, you got the super young tight end? He's gonna help your offense. You know, he's, he's struggling to learn some stuff, can you spend some extra time with them? Sure. So that's okay, because no offense, the starting tight end he's gonna help Joe play better and that's going to help the team, but we're not gonna do it for the backup quarterback the young quarterback that was drafted because he's coming to take my job. I just that's, that's the way I go. I don't see it that way. Because at the end of the day, if we're going to say I'm here to win football games, then there is no rank there is no rank everybody matters. So I guess the difference I would say there is that no offense playing drew lock isn't playing you know offense on the field playing in games drew lock is I, I would look at, like I always thought when I was the backup swing guy or whatever I always thought it was my job to help. Starters, whether it was the D lineman in practice, or the linebackers or even the guys that were starting in the game on the offense of line. I felt like it was my job to help them in any way I could during the week. Not, not, really the other way around. Let me ask you this. What did you think? 'cause I just saw that somebody sent this to me. I thought it was interesting when the giants drafted Daniel Jones, Pat Shurmur called, Eli manning and said your job is not to.

"Pool of guys that you can now go higher, and this is why one, you need to find a guy that's really good at being general manager player evaluation. All that stuff. He also needs to be willing and wanting to work with Adam gays, then he needs to love Sam darnold, as quarterback then you need. Still love leave on bell and his contract. He needs to love CJ Moseley in his contract and needs to have wanted take take him couldn't Williams with the third pick you can't just have four out of those six or like you gotta get a guy. That's okay with all those things. And so you've shrunk, the pool of ops and strictly off of those things because of the timing. So, man, this is how young quarterbacks get ruined because organizations have no clue. What they're doing? And this is a perfect example. What about the counter argument, Dan of hey, gays seemingly has a pretty good track record with quarterbacks. And they were making the change away from bowls anyway. And gays is still going to be the guy working with darnold and working with the quarterbacks with the jets. Two things one you know there's a narrative that listen, I played for Adam gates and they're certainly the narrative that he has a good track record with quarterbacks. He also hasn't had a top top half offense in the NFL outside of Peyton Manning. He's never had an offense. That's been sixteen unless you had Peyton Manning as quarterback. So that kinda disputes a little bit of like this quarterback whispering aspect to him. And then yes, he's still going to be there in, in help Sam darnold develop, but the impact that is as equally important, or even greater is the people that are around same don't at the players that are around Sam darnold. So now you don't know what you're getting in a general manager, that is going to be the person selecting those players to help them Donald's development. And so that's the thing. And that's why the pool of guys is so small because there might be a guide as a general manager. You're like men. He would be really good. He's a great talent. Evaluator. He's a great player. He loves Sam darnold. He's not gonna take that job lady on Bell's contract. There's going to be guys out there that are like that. And so they're certainly counter argument. But until their structure there, there's a lot of concerns now. I know you have some concerns as well about Joe flacco and his response. When asked about mentoring drew lock and I don't know if we should start with flak goes response. Or we should start with the concept of mentoring a younger player. I guess, I'll, I'll start with my thoughts on it, Dan. And you can respond to it because I know we got a Twitter thing going. So I think the idea that any player should be compelled to help someone younger and cheaper than them take their job. I think that that's ridiculous. Now that if somebody wants to do that. They want to go out of their way to help someone younger more power to them. I guess, but I don't think anyone especially a guy like Joe flacco who's thirty four years old. And hoping to play for four or five more years. I don't think that they should be compelled to do that. Now, do I think Joe flacco is going to be hiding his notes from drew lock know if drew lock Azima question, I'm sure he'll answer it. I guess I come at it Dan from where I was. I look at it like it's drew locks job to follow around. Joe flacco to observe everything. Drew Joe flacco does and to learn by as most this as much as possible. From Joe flacco. Where do you disagree? Completely agree on part of it in a significant part of it does fall on drew luck in his I gotta go beat the annoying guy in the back pocket. But let me kind of kind of dissect the Joe flacco stuff a little bit. So first of all, as a quarterback, it's different than any other position. Your job is to do any and all to help your football team win. And so I ask Joe flacco and I promise you this is the answer. Joe are you going to help mentor or develop or talk to a court or day, Sean, Hamilton who are to your young receivers? Yeah. I'm gonna why? Because it's gonna help me play better. Are you going to help Noah fit your first round tight end? Yeah. 'cause it's gonna help me play better than it's gonna help us when football games. So it should it be just exclusive to guys that are not of your position, second of all,.

Super Bowl 2019: Pregame coverage before Patriots vs. Rams

"The game, of course, is a big part of it. But also there are other sort of story lines beyond the the Rams and the patriots in a couple of them. There are interesting to me is I want to start Myron with with with gronk. He's kind of had a resurgence a little bit here in the playoffs starting to see a little bit of the gronk of bold wrestlemainia is the first Sunday in April. I'm of the belief that I'm going to see grog make his debut in the WWE it wrestlemainia and then his time in football. Is over. After today. Do you agree with that? And do you think that whatever happened today win or lose could have any effect either way? Well, I think that makes a lot of sense excuse me, especially because you're talking about a guy who can probably get millions of dollars on a pretty limited. Wrestling scheduled Cadillac around. Arousing Brock Leser, like it's not like the old days where he's going to have to wrestle three hundred days out of the year. This guy's going to get paid to show up on special events and make millions. He's talked so much about how much money he saved throughout his career. He's talked about not wanting to play too long. I don't know if today affects anything because he's a first ballot hall of Famer whether he wins or loses today, he's got a bunch of money in the Bank. And I think he could be the next rock in. In. I think he could be that. He's got a personality. You're not a wrestling guy. He's not the rock rock. Am wrestling. He could be that. Well, rock started out as what rocky my via. He was fighting from the family name. And then he emerged as his own way. I can't broadcast that personality in the WWE. We'll promote him. I think he could become a superstar who eventually goes in the movies and forgets football. All right. I I'm not going to argue with the wrestling part of it. But because you're wrong. But Dan, do you think this is it for I? Yeah, I do. But I do believe that tonight's result swings that okay? I can see if they lose tonight especially in close ballgame Brady convincing gronk for another year. Come back for another year. Don't forget is AO win the first round tackled. It's not part of this team. He'll be back. Like, we give me one more run. Gronk I can see that happening. Now, if they win I do believe that he calls it a career as he rightfully shit. Don't take don't. Remember, the comments he made this last week of him talking about the wear and tear, and how much it weighs on you. Mentally, and how hard it is to get hurt and have to practice, and how difficult it that difficult of a thing that is now to say that he's the next rock is absolutely outrageous. Like the row how first of all the rock is the rock was a guy that went into wrestling because that was the the the means to an end that was the vehicle. News and his family had been. He was going to you second of all the rock is incredibly business savvy and Hollywood savvy works like a dog like this is a guy. When it comes to football. Yes. When it comes to training for football. Yes. But he doesn't. I mean, the rock literally works like a dog. I need more talking about the rotten. Now. I saw the rock when he was in survivor series as rocky my via no one knew he wasn't good. And he was trying to figure out who he would be gronk could come in in the social media air, which rocketed the rock didn't come in in the social media era. All I'm saying is gronk could be a superstar in wrestling. Well, let me add gronk is only he's only twenty nine it feels like he's been around forever damnit. He's only twenty nine now he's taking a lot of hits bodies like a forty year old guy. But I guess what I'm saying is listen to countdown to kickoff on ESPN radio you've been through this process and Myron, and I haven't the process to decide you know, what that's it. Right. That's a hard process for every athlete. No matter the level, whether you're elite or not is it in part of it. I think is do I have something to go. Do do you think? I mean, we we talk about wrestling and a lot of people may roll their eyes. But it is something I know he can do if he wants whether it can be great or not he can do it is that talked to me about the process of saying I'm walking away. And and how how how players go through that mindset. Yeah. I mean for for me, you know, it was a great majority of it was I don't love the crap anymore. Doesn't it feel like he doesn't either? Yeah. I mean, that's that's no you're not gonna pay. Now granted if someone was going to pay me five million dollars. I would have dealt with it again, if someone's gonna pay gronk ten or twelve million dollars, maybe, but you get you deal with the crap. Like, so many people doing their job you do with that crap. Because you still love it. You love all the things that competition the locker room, the fellas the drive to be great the work, you love all that. And then once you don't love the dealing with the crap anymore that stuff doesn't matter anymore. It's not worth it anymore. And that's when you start facing the question of do I wanna do this anymore? And it makes it completely now. When I went through my transition, I wasn't for sure. Like, I was like all right. I want to get into analysts in broadcasting get into TV TV. And I was like I'm just gonna go rather than sitter sitting around. And wait. So I knew that there was at least the opportunity there for me. Gronk scan have way more. More than I had presented to him. But if you get to that point where you're done loving, the crap that you have to deal with and there are avenues for you to go. It makes it such an easier decision in move for you to go. You know what I'm done? Here's the next Chad having those options, I do think is is huge. You will have a lot of options. And you didn't know when you quit you're going to get to do a show with Matt Jones in my. But then sometimes I have earlier if I did exactly the Lord's blessing. There you are. So let's talk about the next to the players on the field. Maybe the person that has the most sort of its state today. Myron is your guy Tony Romo? I mean. I'm not sure an announcer has gotten this level of praise maybe ever like universal praise of people going Stephen Smith said is the best performance he'd ever seen from an announcer. And so the thing is that's awesome. Except you've got one more game. And I always of the opinion the most important two days in your life or the first in the last at a job. Well, the last impression he's gonna get from us is this game. Is there pressure on him to recreate the magic from two weeks ago? I think there's a ton of pressure on him to do that. And I think the problem is announcers like him who get this early praise. How many of them go down as being folks? And a lot of people don't like, you know, it's unfortunate because you start out liking guys like Tony Romo. He deserves all of this praise, but because you expect now people expect him to be some profit every game the minute. He shows any sort of flora weakness people are gonna jump onto that and start to criticize him. But I think he's facing more pressure than any announcer at a Super Bowl or any analysts had a Super Bowl that I can remember because people think he's like something we haven't seen before. And now he's going to have to deal with that pressure. Incomes care like most of the time. I'll be honest with you, Dan. I don't even know who the announcers are until I realized what network game is on. But with Romo I mean, there are prop bets on how many he's gonna call. Like, this is he is not the biggest story the game is. But you know, he's the second third or fourth. Biggest story. I think a big part of it too is like people are having a ton of fun listening to him. Torino because not only is he very good at what he does in. I've said this as a broadcaster networks you better have quarterbacks on there. Because you you've gotta be able to get people to understand the game different levels that communicated to all kinds of people. But it's the fact of he continuously telling educating people on the wise in house put it's fun. Like, you're having fun. Like John Madden was the last announcer. Who seemed like he was having as much fun as Romo, and it's it's okay. For him to talk over Jim Nance for a second. Because if you were sitting at a bar with your friends are in the living room having a beer with your friends. You talk over your buddy here in this moment. So it's not like this. You know in cookie cutter ish. Oh, we don't do that. Because it's television. But what happens if I'm saying is really good. Then I'm gonna do it. You know? And I think that there is that appreciation for for from people going like this is really good. And he's telling me stuff, that's really. Good. But also like the fact that there's really nobody else on TV sounding like him in ways. Like that like talking over Jim Nance, Jayme lake. It just seems like he's having a blast doing it. There are very few announcers who make the crossover into a personality that they matter Madden did mired. I'd say Barkley has vital. Did like there are many. And I think romo's headed groups, Dan Orlovsky will continue to be on. Would you agree with that? Yes. I think he is definitely in that group of guys where you go. You're now going to watch games because romo's attached to it doesn't matter the game because he's gonna make any game more interesting. Just because of who he is become he's become a part of the game now, and that's a good thing. Because like damn fed people. Like, I think I honestly think there are very few announcers that them just being there matters. I think John Madden. Did I think dick Vitale did Bill Walton? I think dick Vitale did. And I think I think Tony Romo is is sort of becoming like that who's going to win the game. After all this talk who actually is going to

"Because I know what it feels like thing with yours is it's a public event. I don't really know whether people think they're being clever, and they just don't realize everybody sends you that. Whereas with mine, I know they're intending to be like they're trying to be me. How do you react to that? Because I think you're very clever about making yourself the butt of the joke. Sometimes when it's when it's appropriate. And when it's when it's funny, but when people aren't creative or interesting in bringing it up does it ever get to you. Does it get to me? I think for like ninety eight percent of being the time. No, there's certainly times there, and they were just roll my eyes. And I'm like dude that plate doesn't make me dumb person or doesn't like take away for my -bility to tell you. What's happening like, so, you know, part of it is because you know, I played quarterback for my whole life. So you were in like the spotlight or the cameras and interviews or whatnot. So there was there was a tension or pressure on you from that early age. And there's always people who told you you stunk or that you suck. You're not good enough. Like there was always people commenting even before Twitter on on sidelines of games and whatnot. And then you know, I played for a long time. And so I've I've always I read because ports. I've always had people tell you that you saw. And so it's much more prevalent now that it's on Twitter. I look at it like this. If that is the the single worst moment for. Me. I'm okay. Like, hey, I try to get people. I don't try to get people to understand. But I like I look at it as okay made it to NFL one. I'm I'm in the top one percent ever. And then our played even smaller amount. And then I paid for decade. Plus and even smaller amount the very next week. We were on the road at Houston. Same situation. I've got the bone resort. Throw a ninety seven yarder to Calvin for touchdown. So I just looked at it as a really good opportunity for me to be honest about it and be like, yeah. That was really stupid that moment was really super. I know I'm not a stupid person. I believe that the fact that I played for another eight years after that or nine years apps that proves that. I'm not a stupid player. But I also laugh at it like, yeah, it was done. And it's a good opportunity for me to be like if someone watches that. And goes man, I like, Dan Orlovsky and what he says. And I think he's really bright. But meant that was that was a bad moment. But it doesn't let it define them or doesn't let it become who he was or he overcame it out want my kids to be able to look at it and be like this. We're gonna fall down and not get knocked down. You're gonna have adversity or whatnot. But you can overcome it. And like I again, I played for like nine years. I'm married to a beautiful girl with four awesome kids. Like if that is my real big flood in life. I'm totally cool with that. Right. I mean, again, it came as a professional quarterback in the NFL, which is in order to make that mistake. You already have to achieved so much to even be given the chance to make that mistake..

"We're gonna take away your best player. They're probably going to do everything they can to take Aaron Donald out of the game. And so does soon dummy affect the way he has the first two games. I also really take a a loss conversation or something that probably won't get talked about enough is this. The patriots have become. Smash mouth football team in doing. So they've utilized the fullback Devlin more than any team in football. The Rams really played with one inside linebacker, and then they play with Mark baron who is an ex safety that. Yes does play linebacker. But we all know, he's not a linebacker. He's a two hundred fifteen to two hundred and twenty pounds kind of athlete, and I got to imagine that Josh mcdaniels embellish sector going to go. We're gonna make sure that we put Devlin on Mark, Barron. Space mask a lot in. We're gonna make Mark Barron. Fifties runs versus are really good fullback at ton. And I believe that's going to be a huge advantage for New England and just controlling the clock. When you flip it, you gotta understand like Bella chicks, go the only way this team beats me is if we're bad in the play action games, and we are bad in the play action defense. I got to imagine that. But when you look at how they're gonna play they're gonna play really slow on the second and third levels defensively. They're not their linebackers will not be flowing to the ball. He's gonna put a guy at the point of the bunch. He's gonna force that run to be back into the middle of the field, and those linebackers just gonna play slow and go Sean McVay this is Super Bowl. We're gonna force you to run the ball forty five times. Are you patient enough to run the ball forty bucks on those are a couple of things that I'm watching the game? I'm going that is going to have huge swing impact on the outcome. Is the man as you can tell Dan Orlovsky follow him on Twitter. Dan, Roloff ski seven that. You know, everything is doing for. Yes. "You can check him out on Twitter at Dan Orlovsky seven. I knew he'd be a stud. I was telling everybody for years, and he is exactly that. And then I wanted to dive into these games one last time with you take a sneak previews well of the Super Bowl just kinda get your regional thoughts. And I guess my first question about the Rams I'm gonna I'm gonna get asked. You hear a little bit about the Rams and Sean McVeigh because I know you're a big fan if he's so bright, okay? And such a great coach was up with him trying to have golf audible in the first half in the super dome. What was the deal with that? Well, you know, first of all of the b humanity. Here's the thing. You're trying to communicate we'll play or trying to get to and that's a big part of their offense. You still want to no matter what the environment is controls the game. Whether you're on offense on defense in that, the great strength or one of the great strengths of that off. Control the game. That's why they don't get into a good Jillian formations, but simplifies some formations and do a bunch of stuff off of how you present. And so you want to be able to go do that. And no matter how loud it is there. Everyone knows there's mechanisms to do that. I was the noise I guess probably louder than they had anticipated especially early on. Sure, I was one of those people that actually felt that they handled it remarkably well because I saw a bunch of people on social media kind of be like man, the Rams are so surprised, but it's not just a one step process with handling the noise. And so I get like man McVay. How what how did you not have the better plan? But at the same time with the option is, hey, we're not going to be who we are. We're just going to call a play and hopefully works or no, no, no, this is going to be really hard, and it'll be difficult, but we also have tools in place. Make sure that we can handle it. And for the most part they did. Yeah. I think you're right. I'm just kind of busting your chops. I mean, they came from behind thirteen nothing and twenty ten in the Superdome to win. So they deserve all the kudos that go along with it. You know, obviously, I think people forget you were there in training camp was that last year or golf's rookie year. That was last year so twenty seventeen going into his second year. Yes. You were there. There's a perception than that, Jared golf, I think Sunday might have gone a long way towards getting that erasing this perception. But there's a perception that Jared Goff is basically a puppet and that McVeigh is telling them not only the play, but they get to the line early. So McVeigh can give them pointers and say look at this coverage be makes you're watching this guy and talks to them all the way up until the fifteen seconds. Do you think that that's unfair? And what are your thoughts on McVeigh's usage of the headset communication? Yeah. So I it's obvious that McVeigh talks the year before that fifteen second cut off. It's obvious that they get to the line of scrimmage and try to figure out what the defence is doing. And he'd probably gets. I'm into a certain play. I'm not saying this isn't all the time thing, but a certain playing here and there and gives them tidbits. I I find no problem with that. Because here's it's twofold one, Sean McVeigh is realizing I really wanna win games now. And I can help our team win Jerry go visit incredibly young kid that is still very much so learning so if you're getting into one scrimmage and you're telling your, hey, let's run this play. Don't forget if you see the safety lean that way, let's work that way let let's we're opposite like that. That's okay. And that's coaching. You're young player through wins. Like the challenge for coaches with young quarterbacks is you've got to teach them. And then they have the burden of trying to go win was Sean McVeigh kind of utilizing what given to him to wise is going I can coach this kid and through winning..
