"Instability. Talking to match stitch come about the weekend. Matt, let me get to Knoxville because the narrative is already in written in stone about where this series has been, but what are you looking for in terms of the keys to victory, especially for Florida with Anthony Richardson? Yeah, I think pressure is a big thing in this game. I think pressure has played a big role in Florida's performance and specifically Anthony Richardson's performance. I thought it was really telling to hear Dan Mullen kind of validate that perception that going into the game versus Utah, nobody thinks Florida is going to win. Utah is the favorite, top ten team, all the things. So it's kind of less pressure in that regard because the expectations might be lower, at least towards victory. And so you can play maybe looser. And since then, obviously, some would consider a breakout performance. The conference named Anthony Richardson offensive player of the week. That week, then struggles since then. And Tennessee, as we know, can school points has four points. That puts a lot of pressure on the opposing team, not just offensively, but in general, in fact, stadium is one of the most intimidating places to play. And you have to believe that this might be the most electric crowd that they've had in a long, long time. Certainly the most engaged one, how does Florida respond to that pressure? They got to keep that scoreboard under control. They need to string together drives. It's not just about the passing offense. They need to find a way to possess the football, get it into the red zone if for nothing else for field position purposes and an opportunity to get points on the board because otherwise, if you let it get away from you early, I don't know how this Florida team early in doing Napier's tenure is going to respond to that level of oppression.

"I don't think they could have recovered that, especially after the Missouri loss. So you're wiping out a urine recruiting and you're just really putting off the inevitable. And I don't recall where I read this with all the stories that are out there, but with recruiting with mole and someone had said it's not that he can't. It's just that he doesn't really take much interest in it. But when he wants to, he's one of the most charming recruiters out there in the country. So 13 jobs as we sit here today Thanksgiving week open an FPS. I'm gonna leave you with this final question. Let's just say, with all of the coaching carousel moving, you've got 13 open jobs now for the sake of this conversation. Let's say total 18 jobs come open with movement here there and the other. Do you think Dan Mullen will be employed? One of those 18 jobs. My gut feeling is yes because I think he knows first of all, he's capable of getting a job. I mean, what we're talking about here, Matt, a lot of this is inside baseball. Because, you know, I mean, you cover a college football from a very tall tower. I cover it from a toxic waste dump. So the combination of it puts a pretty good spin on where we are. And if Mullen sits out a year, I don't think he helps himself. Right now, you can enter two weeks from now you understand Mullen at a press conference wherever that is. And he's a pretty big name. You win. You're from. Yeah, a year from now. I don't know if he's if he has the same cachet, so I would try to get him a job pretty quickly. And I think he's capable of getting a job. My thought on as we wrap up here and get to headlines, I find that the rest of the college football world from Big Ten country to big 12 country to PAC 12 country to the ACC, which has a southern footprint. I find that people look at the SEC dominant that I find that people look at the SEC is dysfunctional in that you can win an ASTRO championship in 2019 and be fired a year and a half later. You can go to three new year's 6 bowl games at the third highest 20 percentage behind two legends and you get fired. And so I will be interested to see the national look at this because people are looking down south and saying, well, hell, I thought he was doing a good job. Who would want to go down there and not get appreciated for doing what he did? This is gonna be talent Paul. This can be a fun one to watch with, especially with both these jobs LSU and Florida now open. Yeah, I mean, we say it a lot, but you win a national championship and get fired two years later. Can that happen? Well it's happened twice. It happened to Jean chiswick after 12 and it happened to at osier on a few weeks ago, Dan Mullen never won a national championship, although he was in contention last year until late in the year. But his resume of Florida at most schools would get you a raise. And if Florida, it got him a race, just a few months ago. Today's fire. So that the headline in college football for today as we move now to the final weekend of the regular season. Right. The headline. All right, headline time. I'm gonna do this in a way that we haven't done it before because of the uniqueness of the weekend of Thanksgiving and college football. So I'm gonna start on Turkey day Thursday November 25th right the headline for the egg bowl between the old miss and Mississippi state. I would go with kifer and survives finishes regular season ten and two. And then goes to or is that it? You're just gonna give them he's gonna stay at Oxford. Speculation about his future range. Kiffin gets tenth win an old mess as he gets ready to accept the USC LSU Virginia tech, Florida and Miami jobs. That would be a very as he's walking off the field. They ask him about the rumors and he looks like he doesn't know what they're talking about. Yeah, yeah. That's very 2021. I'm gonna skip over the Friday games because although I'm calling North Carolina North Carolina state NC state still has an opportunity to get to the championship. They need to win on Friday and then awake loss, likely the last time we'll see Sam Howell play college football, Cincinnati, he's got east Carolina Friday, holt nailers, they're 7 and four. They've got a good offense Cincinnati. He shouldn't be peeking ahead to Houston in the American championship. That gets us to Saturday right the headline for Ohio State Michigan. Deja vu all over again. Buckeye's roll over harbor. Poor harbor. Just can't get it done. That's gonna be such a fun game. That one's at noon eastern. Right the headline for the iron bowl. Start slow, but rolls over hapless auburn as it heads for showdown against the dogs. 11 and one on the season auburn would fall as 6 and 6 in that case. This one is gonna be under the radar, but it shouldn't be. The final game of the Edo geron era at LSU they are not bull eligible. They're 5 and 6. So when against Texas and we get them to that. So write me the headline for Texas a and M LSU in a final.

"This is a huge hire for the athletic director. And I keep saying that these are the people I spend as much time with as coaches. Matt. And they have to you don't have to win the press conference, but this is one you do have to win the press conference because you just fired a guy that until 6 weeks ago was popular in the state. I mean, I don't know when I've seen a coach. I mean, this is like watching the stock market on like black Monday. I mean, this guy, there was no bottom for Dan Mullen, but if you go back to even even early in the season the Alabama game was a moral victory, you know, even in October, things were still going okay. And we're now at November we're taping this on November 21st. And the guy's fired. I mean, you're right. So that puts pressure on the AD. Because this was his guy. Matt, and that's why he couldn't afford to stay with him. I mean, you would have probably allowed him to have another year, but you know, do you know who this, you know who this club opens with next year? First game of the season? I don't. No. Utah. And Utah is young and Utah is good. And he comes from the Utah tree with urban Meyer. It's in Gainesville. And the problem is, I'm just arguing if you kept him and you lose the Utah game at home, then the pressure just metastasized. And then you've got the normal you're in Knoxville next year. You've got Georgia, of course, and all the usual suspects. So the schedule was other than Utah wasn't as has been let me stop myself. When you lose to South Carolina, Missouri, the schedule next year doesn't matter. Which job is better in your mind? LSU or Florida? I agree. And I don't think it's close. No, the talent, the talent pool is much better. You are, you own your own state. I mean, Nick Saban has made a living down there, but you can put some borders up. And you're not fighting F issue in Miami. Now it's the fact that my norville might have the ascending program in that state. And he was on the chopping board a couple of weeks ago. Even is even more surprising. Yeah, and here's what I find alarming if I'm one of these coaches. You mentioned James Franklin. For whatever reason, you look, he did something in historic at Vanderbilt, which was I think there were 9 and three, two years while he was there, which is unheard of in Vanderbilt history. He goes to Penn State after Bill O'Brien got that program to the darkest days of that program's history in the Jerry sandusky scandal. When he goes in and he can recruit, and he's one of the brighter stars in the game, but you'd mentioned it. How hot is his stock right now? Are you willing to say if you're the program, say James Franklin's the guy? Maybe because I think recruiting right now is Florida's biggest pet peeve. I don't think the Dan Mullen conversation got really hot until the recruiting comment. And when the recruiting press conference, that's when it started happening. So it seems to me like Florida's looking for one of those guys that eat sleeps and drinks recruiting. That's what it looks like to me. But with USC open and with LSU open and with Virginia tech open and with TBD open, Florida has put themselves in a spot where if I'm one of these hot candidates, you mentioned Luke fickle, you mentioned James Franklin, lane kiffin, are you really willing to go to one of these jobs that just canda coach after three new years 6 bowl games? If I'm Billy Napier in Billy's very pragmatic without he handles things. He's waiting for the place where everything sinks up. If I'm billing Napier with all the options I may have, am I taking the Florida one with what just happened there? I don't know. Well, I'm very suspicious of one thing. Why was Billie Napier the first name attached to this job? That that is, you know, I overthink things sometimes Matt, but I also know how agents work and I'll leave it at that. But there's a reason I don't think that means he has the job, but I do think it means that his agents are pushing him toward that job and letting somebody down there at Florida know, if you want him, you've got about 12 hours to create a deal. Yeah, and Billy, he turned down the job at South Carolina. We know that. Right. And I believe he turned down the job at auburn. So I think there's a game going on and it's interesting that I'm getting my Jimmy Sexton clients confused here. Dan Mullen is a fairly recent Jimmy Sexton client. He did not have him until he made the decision to go to Florida. He was using somebody else and he was very dissatisfied with them. But I think a lot of things got Mullen that really doesn't matter. Once a coach gets fired, that news is over, as you know, Matt, it's all about who's next. And I just got very well, Scott Strickland and he's under fire. I suspect he'll cut a deal quickly. And the reason why you need somebody quickly is next Saturday is a very important benchmark. That's the last game for LSU. It's the last game from Florida that matters. And you need a coach in there by Monday because that recruiting deadline is upon you very quickly. Yeah, and you're right that December 15th signing day, I think it's caused more harm than good if you ask me because now these coaches are getting fired so quickly to get guys in there and salvage some semblance of a recruiting class by December 15th, but typically you're right when there's a coach that automatically just kind of bubbles up right, like Napier did. And the timing of this, Napier is gonna be a hot candidate. I don't know that he was big enough for Woodward at LSU. We know how he likes to swing for the fences. And maybe Napier is the guy. He's taking his time to get the job. But I mean, I asked this rhetorically, I guess, but you fired down for a Billie Napier? No. And that was my point earlier. You are banking on finding the next urban Meyer. Which.

"That juries out. Now you're gonna bring in a new guy that is probably not gonna have any SEC experience and you're gonna expect of him to go toe to toe with three of the biggest names in the sport and say, hey, last guy had the third highest winning percentage behind Steve spurring on urban Meyer, but good luck, go get him. No, it's true. And this is not an easy job and I think Matt, the difficulty of this job is there's a lot of championships on the trophy case. And there's a lot of tradition, but there's not much present. This is a program that has lost to a bad LSU program two years in a row. This is a program that's lost to Kentucky. Two out of the last four years. This is a program that is just lost to South Carolina and Missouri with a coach, by the way, and we can double check this. But I think Dan Mullen got an extension in this calendar year. He did. Yeah, he did. The buyouts 12 million. How does this happen? It's a circus, and that's what we talk about all the time. And I think he signed the extension after going toe to toe with Alabama and the SEC championship game. And now they owe the guy $12 million in a buyout. At some point, and this is on the heels of the reported story that Mel Tucker and Michigan state was working on a $95 million extension from el Tucker who just got blown off the field Saturday against Ohio State. At some point, an AD or someone's gonna have to call Jimmy Texan's bluff. Because now Florida has just kicked the guy to the curb that had one bad year. They gotta pay him $12 million. They're building those brand new facilities that are finally on par with everybody else in the SEC. You've got to get this higher right. I just don't like that we're on a college football world where you're not allowed to have a bad year because in my opinion every time you have a bad year or you have one and that would appear to be an outlier in Mullen's 3.95 years at Florida, you're gonna set yourself back another two. Are you telling me there's one guy out there that can come in and say, all right, here we go. I'm the new head ball coach at Florida and we're gonna be Georgia next year and win the east. Is that guy out there? My answer is no. I just happened as we're talking, I was looking at various stories. I'm just going to use the one in front of me as an example. Sports Illustrated very well known writer there is he works with us as well at the SEC. He just said, he just listened. He said, some of the sport's biggest programs are on the hunt for a new head coach. Who is next in line? Who are they coaches out there, okay? Lane kept James Franklin, Mel Tucker, Jimbo Fisher, Billy Napier, Luke fickle. Matt Campbell. Now, of that group, Jimbo Fisher's not leaving. It's not leaving. Nope. So you have so then you have sickle Matt Campbell, your name's come up for every job in America. And James henke, who you tell me, how happy is his own fan base with him right now. They're not. They're not. And I mean, and look at Matt Campbell's another one. He's done remarkable things Iowa state. They were picked by many to win the big 12. Oh yeah. What are they 6 and 5 now? Yeah, and they were a final four pick by a lot of our colleagues. And I mean this is respectfully as I can. I don't even know if we know what kind of coach Mel Tucker is yet. He had one year as the head coach at Colorado and they were okay. And he's had two years at Michigan state. He was four and 7 and pandemic year. That's their second loss of the year. They had beaten anybody great, and yesterday just proved how far they are from actually being a real top ten team. So what do we even know about Mel Tucker enough to put him on top of that list? And there are so many there are so many open jobs and the names that you just listed, I mean, fine, if you think that they're better than what you had, then, you know, go for it. It was it was last January that I think it was Adam Schefter reported about them that he was looking for an NFL job. And I think Dan moan and all these names, it's about fit, man. And I think in the end, Dan Mullen was not a great fit in Florida, because he's quirky. And I think Dan Mullen is a good football coach. And he may not wait long to recover. I'm not ruling him out for some of these jobs. He got out of there before a lot of people realized how bad things were. But back to back to the original point, there I can't tell you of the names we just got to mentioning. There's only one on that list I would tell you, I would absolutely be confident of if you want to one of those schools to be successful. It's the same one. What is this with Jimbo Fisher? He's not going anywhere. No. He's got a top ten job. He gets paid top two money. He's going to have a top 5 class. What is it with people thinking that they can go out and be like, Jimbo, Florida is a bad or job in Texas a and M. I've got news for you. It's not. But here's where I think if you do an autopsy on these coaching fires, a lot of times, they are athletic directors under extreme pressure, because they're trying to mask their own mistakes. Scott Strickland hired mullin at Florida now, some of you out in the hinterlands are going, well, okay, well what's the big deal there? Well, here's the big deal. They work together at Mississippi state. And Strickland went to Florida and he didn't make dad his first choice. He was his own choice. Right. And I don't know what exactly happened to mister B state, but I do know a lot of people have missed it be state. We're glad Dan Mullen loved because he was looking for a job for the last three or four years that he was there. Dan is a guy that wears out quickly. He's an urban Meyer protege. Does that sound familiar? Another story that's out Chris vanini of the athletic does a great job as well covering the sport. And the names that he's throwing out there's the same names we've all been throwing out. Lane kiffin, Mark stoops, Mel Tucker, Dave clausen, Billy Napier, Dan landing, Georgia defensive coordinator. Todd monk in Georgia offensive coordinator are the names that he throws out there that could be connected to this job. On that list, with Jimbo, Jimbo was on that list. I'm at the case. I'd lame lame. I'd lean lane. But I think I can tell you it's not going to be the two assistants in Georgia. Now it won't be those two, and if Miami comes open, I'm not even sure lane wouldn't take Miami over Florida. I think Wayne is a name to watch very close to you right now, because Florida, Miami, I think those are two very likely possibilities..

"We recorded at our normal Sunday morning time, had it just as spectacular program lined up for you guys. And then they breaking news hit and Gainesville, which is why we are here a little bit later than we'd like to be for you on a Sunday after a busy Saturday of week 12 of the college football season. But again, the breaking news coming out of college football, Dan Mullen relieved of his duties, his head coach of Florida into his fourth season, not gonna make it out of his fourth season. Another marquee job comes open, Paul initially just your thoughts on Florida, pulling the trigger Strickland pulling the trigger and now add Florida to the open job list. Well, he had no choice, Matt. I said, do you mid morning that I felt like he was on life support? And the tug of war down in Gainesville was do we wait a week? Do we owe it to the players and let them have senior day? And the old line that Strickland's predecessor Jeremy foley once said, if it's inevitable, do it immediately. I think ruled the day. They figured, why wait? And by the way, what if he wins that game? It really doesn't mean anything. The atmosphere down there had grown toxic. Many of the former players and I'm talking about pre urban Meyer days had turned against Mullen and Strickland had no choice for all the pundits who felt like Scott sprinkling would save Dan, because they were together at Mississippi state. They forgot one important factor that Scott Strickland can lose his job too if he's not careful. So he did exactly what Dan moan did two weeks ago by sacrificing two coaches Scott screw on sacrifice Dan Mullen today because it was the right thing to do. You know, we're gonna attack this from multiple angles because I find it fascinating of how these things go down and you and I and this version of the podcast. We talk about the coaching carousel and the dynamics of an administration within the college fall coaching world. And Dan Mullen in his time at Florida, he wraps up with a 34 and 15 record overall. They just won the SEC east in 2020. They took Alabama to the brink in the SEC championship. If I'm not mistaken in Mullins three years there at Florida, I think he finished ranked 6th, 7th and 12th. Which is your top 12 program every year you've been there. You've won the SEC east. I find Mullins fall probably much greater than what we saw at Ed or drawn at LSU. And here's why I say that. Dan Mullen was an established successful head coach in the STC while at Mississippi state. The Edward era at old miss was widely mocked during before and after. So this was shocking to me. The way that they have fallen. We could sit here and debate whether or not this was warranted to get him out of there. But from where he was, Paul, here's one, two, and even last year, to now being unemployed, I find this fall absolutely stunning. It's true, Matt, and I understand it. And certainly you're as close to college football as anyone, but it's the new normal in college football. What we are seeing now is just the way this game is operating because of a lot of the things that we've talked about over these 12 weeks, especially social media. Social media puts pressure on athletic directors and they feel it and their bosses feel it and hear it and what the reality is. I have no earthly idea. Dan Mullen when he got the job was coveted. It's worth going back. And I know that we want to react and look ahead. But scotch Frick one after he fired Jim mcelwain, offered the job a chip Kelly. He thought about it. He almost took it. He finally turned it down. The job nicks went to Scott frost. He turned it down and Dan Mullen was on the verge of taking the Tennessee job. After a bush Jones and he ended up getting the call Jimmy Sexton got the call and they quickly moved from Tennessee to Florida. So that was the beginning. And he lit it up. People were excited. He won new year's 6 bowl games. Last year, you know, had a phenomenal season until the end. It really it just came apart late, especially against LSU. That game remember the famous G game, which they should have won, they didn't against LSU, and then they lost the SEC championship game and then they just laid an egg in the I think it was the cotton bowl against was it Oklahoma when half the team didn't show up? Yeah, it was just a disastrous finish. And there were some NCAA issues in the off season a show cause. And the optimism this year wasn't as high, but it was still pretty high. And listen, we know the Alabama game. And then it just started to unravel. The Kentucky game was a killer. The Florida game made it worse, but the season, but Mullen's career really dipped at its deepest point, really, that South Carolina game, when they didn't show up, the Sanford game followed. And then the Missouri game, the clock was already ticking the hangman's loose had already been made and it's possible he would have been fired whether he won the Missouri FSU game or not. That's how bad things have gotten. You know, and I'm listening to all of this and I'm thinking, okay, in his first three seasons, he led Florida to three new year's 6 games. And in those three seasons he's leading Florida new year 6 games. He had to contend with LSU 2019 all time team. He had a contend with Alabama last year that backed up LSU's all time team with an all time team going undefeated. And then he's got one of those. Yeah, so first year was not LSU's all time team. That was his second year. Third year was Alabama last.

"Yeah? Yeah, and you got to recruit at a super high level. Look, Dan Mullen was able to compete with Hugh freeze for a couple of big, big time guys. You know, in the state of Mississippi, obviously Jeffrey Simmons was one Chris Jones. I mean, I'm sure there was others, you know, that they got there, but just consistently to get top hundred players, he just couldn't close. I don't want to say it's like the clay halton thing where you talk to people and they're like, yeah, the head coach needs to be a lot more of a factor on it, and that just did not get it done. I mean, well, firing your coach is the easy part, hiring a new one is the hard part. And this, what a market, you know, you mentioned Virginia tech, Washington, I think, is a pretty good job. You know, we think possibly will come open. That's probably more of a West Coast centric job. One thing I think might happen, I think the Washington state job, I think they may have found their head coach in Jake decker, the interim the acting head coach. He's done a really good job there. I know they have been impressed with him. That might, again, I'm not going to report it that it's a done deal. I think the more time passes, it's like, yeah, maybe we should keep this guy. You know, Washington state, it didn't even occur to me until Oregon lost last night that this was a possibility. There are still a scenario where Washington state goes to the factual title game. There are 6 and 5, but they go to the PAC 12 title game. If they beat Washington and Oregon loses to Oregon state. That would be a very, that would be a very PAC 12 thing to have a 7 and 5 team that fired its coach halfway through the season due to a COVID vaccine mandate playing for the conference championship. I think on Wednesday's show, which is right before Thanksgiving, and usually all hell breaks loose in the coaching market the Sunday after Thanksgiving. So I think on Wednesday show, we might go school by school in terms of schools, they either have openings or we think we'll have openings. And check in and see where we think they are on the coaching carousel. You should also send your emails to the audible pod at Gmail dot com. I suppose we may also have to react to if there's some unexpected development in the playoff rankings Tuesday night. I'm sure Gary barter will say something that will infuriate you Bruce. And we'll have to have to acknowledge that on Wednesday morning. So we'll be a lot to get that time of year. This is when it all converges. There will be a lot to talk about this week. And certainly as we get into Ohio State, Michigan and Oklahoma Oklahoma state and some other big games next weekend. We'll see you next time..

"Maybe not literally. The program fell apart right there. And I don't think anybody in college football were in the state of Florida would have told you back in early October, Dan Mullen of the three power big three in programs that first guy fired would be the guy at Florida. Not the guy at Florida state, not many Diaz, Dan Mullen. When it just completely fell apart and I don't know, maybe in a maybe ten years ago, maybe in another era of college football he'd say, well, in fact, actually, this did happen with well must champion. Remember, they won 12 games and they went to the sugar bowl and lost to teddy Bridgewater. And the next year they went for an 8 and lost to lots of Georgia southern, right when they were still FCS team. And he came back. You know, he got fired the next year, but it was kind of, okay, maybe that was just one bad year sentiment. You don't get that one bad year now. Especially not when everything else is going wrong too. I mean, it's just been apparent for some time. That he can't recruit at a level you need to recruit. To win national championships, which is what the standard is for for a football. Kirby smart recruits at that level does not. So this raises the obvious question. And in a market where LSU and USC are already open. Who would you peg as the possible next coach of the Florida Gators? Off the top of my head, I don't know if you can get Dan Quinn to come back to Gainesville. I think Billy Napier to me if I was Scott Strickland. I would look really hard at billing apiary. I feel like there's some good some good options, but there are not enough good coaches to fill. You mentioned USC and LSU. There's also Virginia tech out there. That's a really good job. That's not, but that's not going to they're not going to beat out Florida for a coach. I don't think. You wouldn't think you would not think. I don't know man. The thing with Florida is interesting in that somewhere den mole and kind of fit in the category between all right, urban Meyer, obviously, was a Grand Slam coach he won multiple national titles. Did not work out for Ron's who obviously was a good recruiter, did not work out for him. Did not work out for will must jam. Jim McAllen had some good moments won the SCC east, but then it just completely imploded. You know, it imploded for Dan Mullen. And again, I bring up the must chant part because like Dan landing is a really well thought of defensive coordinator at Georgia. I don't know if Florida. I mean, it shouldn't be that like, oh, well, it didn't work out with a loss jump, so we can never hire a first time defensive guy as a head coach at this level. But I don't know what. I think it's too big a job to hire coordinator and frankly, I mean, you know, you said billing a fear. I agree. He'd be a really good hire. And I wonder if even he wouldn't satisfy the fan base. I don't know what huge name they're expecting. Put it this way, would you go after Matt Campbell? That doesn't seem like a good fit. Maybe I'm wrong, but would you go after Luke fickle? Yeah, I would go after it. I mean, I don't know if he'd be more inclined to go to gamesville than he would. You know, if I was if I was, here's the thing and I wondered about this a little bit from the Scott Woodward the AD at LSU side. You know, it's like, okay, if you can't catch Jimbo Fisher, probably you can't get Lincoln Riley. I would go after loop tickle if I was him. I mean, if I don't know, if I'm Luke fickle, would I be more inclined to go to LSU or Florida? I think the sentiment in Cincinnati since I was just there on Friday is that the jobs they would worry about losing him too if they ever came open or Ohio State, Notre-Dame. And Penn State. Right. I don't know that Florida or LSU has ever even crossed anybody's minds. So there's no way to know whether he would be interested in or not. They could certainly throw a lot of money at him. But he's also in a position where he can be choosy. I know this. And look, we haven't even talked about the mail Tucker, I don't think it's a done deal, but the reported $95 million contracts that mission estate is supposedly working on for him with the benefit of two donors. If he's off the market, there's no way LSU USD in Florida are all going to hire coaches that they're fans think. That was a great hire. There aren't three guys. We can't name three guys. Bob stoops, I don't think is going back into coaching. I know we've speculated early in the season. There were Meyer Mike come running back. I don't know how real. There are not three names that those three fan bases would be like, that guy is a home run hire for our school. Do you agree? I would absolutely agree. I would absolutely agree. I don't know, you know, and right now, Florida's recruiting was kind of in the toilet by SEC standards. Anyway, now here we are. It's basically Thanksgiving weekend. The early signing period is not far off. You're going to start a coaching search. I don't know what they do. I mean, I really, you know, LSU has had a couple of and he's been working on that coaching search long before you fired at OJ. So I don't know what Florida does to jump into the middle of this right now. Do you get the fact that here's one candidate? I think would be interesting. And I feel bad just throwing it out there for Kentucky fans. But like, Mark stoops is a really good coach. He's done a really good job in the SEC. He knows how to recruit his teams play hard, they're physical. He can develop players. Mark stupid should be getting calls by a lot of places. You should be getting called by USC. He should be getting he probably should be getting called by Scott Woodward at this point. And I would think he should be definitely getting called by Scott Strickland. I'm not saying he should leave. You know, but I think he should be on people's radar. I mean, he's a good guy. You would make. I think of the three. Yeah, I think Florida would make the most sense for him having coached in that state quite a bit. Do you leave? Do you leave Kentucky where he is a hero for going 9 and three to Florida where you can go, you can get fired one year after going 9 and three. That's the one I was in the $12 million question. When you were listing off zook and I was just it's staggering how many coaches they've gone through, given that they had Steve spurger for I think 12 years, right? As stable as it comes, they didn't. I don't even remember how many years urban ended up there, but he could deliver them to national championships. And then every other guy has been crash and burn. Some of them you didn't have high hopes, you know, I didn't necessarily have high expectations for certainly for zuck who I honestly had never heard of the day that he was announced. That was a long time ago. I didn't know if jamae would make it or not. But I really did think the MO would do well there. Both of us had a lot of respect for what he did at Mississippi state. He had the history of Florida, working there for over Meyer. Just couldn't recruit, which you got to be able to do at a job like that..

"Okay, folks, I think we just had a first in podcast history. As Bruce was talking about USC just there, Matt zenitz from all three dot com reported that Florida has parted ways with Dan Mullen. And then I got to sit here and watch Bruce confirm it. I say listen to Bruce confirm it. The little loop sound that a text message makes back and forth back and forth back and forth back and forth. Okay, confirmed. So, there we have it. I don't think this is a surprise that it happened. Maybe the timing a little bit. But man, last night, when I was going to bring it up anyway, but just the final straw of a disastrous season, Florida losing in overtime to Missouri, Missouri went for two and got it. And you don't see this very often. A head coach come into the postgame press conference and just brazenly troll the other guy. Eli rinku. And did you even remember that the Dan Mullen Darth Vader thing was after a Missouri game last year? I didn't I'll be honest, so this morning, my kid has a soccer game. We're walking back. Andy Staples, who's obviously nose Florida in and out is based there. Called me and I asked him about that, and he said, well, he brought up that there was, I guess, almost a fight in a scuffle in that game earlier. And I don't think Eli drink once was happy with how Dan Mullen handled it either. And I was like, I didn't even remember that. I do remember Dan Mullen and his staff almost getting into it with Derek mason and the vanity staff. A couple years ago. I didn't remember. And I didn't. It was surprised me because I didn't think that was in character with drink wits necessary. Yeah, it just shows you how when things are going, well, like when Mullen did that last year, it was kind of goofy, but I didn't really think much of us Halloween the game was on Halloween. He came in on Halloween costume and came in Darth Vader costume. It didn't occur to me that would offend somebody. Or make somebody mad. It clearly did because the length drinking which went to. He has a toy lightsaber like sitting there under the left turn ready to pull out at the end, puts the hoodie over his head, says may the force be with you. If you watch the video of it, you will hear an audible gasp. I don't know if it's from one of the reporters or somebody else. It's just like, wow, he went there. I don't think that's the reason damn Ellen got fired, but it was like that'll end up being the last image of the Dan Mullen era. The tarmac for Dan Mullen. That's the Dan Lok. He got lightsaber. Just crazy. What happened to go from that floor to Alabama game in week three, Florida almost won that game? Two point conversion away from going to over time. Then they crushed Tennessee the next week. It seemed like all is well in Danny and Gainesville. And then it just went completely off the rails. And Scott Strickland didn't have a choice at this point. And they are playing for a state this week, both teams are now 5 and 6, so it's like winner goes to a crappy bowl losers out. Just a kind of a pathetic chapter in that rivalry. But Florida state was rebuilding, if anything, if they get to a bowl, that's a win for Mike norwell in year two for Dan Melanie go from what I think their ranked as high as 6th in the country last year before they lost LSU. They were ranked in the top ten in early October. And then they lose to Florida. They beat a horrible vanity team. And then this is where I think it went. They got whipped at LSU by half a teaspoon. That was the beginning of the double digit favor. They could not stop LSU. By the way, unless you couldn't run the ball at that point and then all of a sudden, LSU looked like they didn't look like a great team, but they whipped them, and then they get thumped by Georgia which is expected. And then they get blown out at South Carolina, barely beat Sanford, and then obviously losing overtime to mizu. Dan wall and lost 9 of his last 11 games against power 5 opponents. Even more crazy, 5 of those teams were unranked, right? So Alan Taylor and I worked on that story, which I feel like I've tweeted out probably more than anything I've ever written, maybe not. That's not true. But in part because once after the story came out, it lived up to it as much where all the issues that other SEC coaches talked about soft, undisciplined, unfocused, the recruiting had really tailed off. And then it was like, Dan Mullen's excuse making. One of the coaches said, that was a, you know, it was a poor vibe inside the team, a lack of accountability starting at the top. All those things became even more apparent on the field after that LSU game. You know, they lose to Georgia, then they get embarrassed by South Carolina. You know, it's just the program literally fell apart..

"Can get it do it our Black Friday deal is ramping up very soon. Perfect timing Bruce, it's perfect timing of the Black Friday sale because it's right on there going to be right on the brink of the playoff coming into focus, coaching carousel, probably right after Thanksgiving will go crazy. So yeah, $1 a month. Still, as we're doing this over Zoom, I see or in your posh, hotel suite for somewhere in the 6 one four, you went, you've got some good luck at games, meaning when you go to games, they've been very compelling. This one not so much. Oh no. No, you went to Michigan state, Ohio State. And by the time I imagine, you got settled in your seat, it was already probably 14 to nothing. I guess you got to pay the price at some point, right? I mean, it was couldn't have been more opposite of when I went down to the field at the end of the Ohio State Oregon game two months ago and the place was going crazy and 100,000 people screaming. And is Ohio State going to be able to come back and take Oregon over time, which they did not. And then by the time I got down to field yesterday, the place was already half empty. It felt like you were a spring game. Everybody's just kind of waiting for it to end. And look, I don't have some database of every game I've ever covered. But I can't imagine I've ever covered a game. I'm almost positive. I've never covered a game that was 49 nothing at halftime. Much less a game between number four and number 7. It was just the highest they put on a clinic, especially a passing clinic where CJ Stroud pitched the equivalent of a perfect game. His receivers were running wide open the whole game, the horse certainly the whole half before they got taken out. And Kenneth walker, four Kenneth walker, the Heisman FrontRunner going into the game probably has zero chance now. He barely even got to touch the ball because they were behind so quickly. I want to ask you. So obviously, Michigan state has had a really good year. I think Mel Tucker has done a really good job and obviously Kenneth walker has been fantastic. They're past defense, especially in the last three games to give up like 1300 yards. And that was going into facing CJ Stroud and the best group of receivers in the country. So it's kind of a recipe for disaster. Before we got to I do want to ask this because I feel like we talked a little decent amount about Ohio State and how dangerous they are and how they could be a bad matchup for Georgia. Honestly, they're a bad match and for almost anybody. Let's look at this now in the context. It was a fairly eventful day amid a bunch of blowouts in terms of what we think we're going to get from the CFP. I mean, you saw them in person. I've seen them in person. I saw them a couple of weeks back. So good on offense. Very well coached very talented. Organ is basically taking themselves out by getting whooped by Utah. So now that head to head stuff, we can put that to bed, I feel like. So now, what do we think where Ohio State should be clear number two right now? Get Alabama out of there. They've scuffled. They had their hands full with Arkansas last night. They had their hands full with LSU in Florida. Those are not those are not great wins and they're only really good win this year. He's against all this. And to me, oh, I will say to sitting there, there are clear number two. I mean, I think I should throw it back to you because it was only a few days ago on the Wednesday podcast that a listener asked why you've been so down on how state one you're ever going to be sold on Ohio State. Are you sold now is what you're saying? Did you not listen to the podcast either? Did you not listen to what I said? I said, checking back on. Check with me on Saturday. Yeah, now what I thought it would be would be like Saturday at 5 o'clock eastern. I didn't think it would be Saturday at like 12, 22. But, yes. The way I look at it, you know, what I wrote from the game is for I feel like the last two months or so, everybody has looked at the landscape as Georgia. And then a step down or even two steps down to everybody else. Everybody else is flawed. And at the end of the day, I think now there's two. I think Georgia and Ohio State are both in that elite tier. And that offense, as you said, I mean, I feel like they've assembled if you were doing a fantasy draft. And you were like, okay, if this fantasy draft goes well, I hope I'll get one of Chris a lot of the other two great receivers. Or maybe I'll get one of them, but I won't be able to get travia Henderson. They got them all. And I don't know, we've seen them. We have seen defenses like Nebraska's for one, slow them down a bit, but at the end of the day, even a great defense like Georgia is not going to hold them to ten points. So, and then, of course, you, in particular, I kept wondering about their defense, their defense really that improved. They took the Heisman Trophy winner FrontRunner completely out of the game. Peyton Thornton's pretty good quarterback who had no chance against that defense. I feel like they've rounded into and this is what happens, right? And this is why frankly, I was uncomfortable with the Oregon or have say head to head, even because I know some people might say where this is easy to say in hindsight. But it was so clear that they were going in opposite directions. And that that result from two months ago wasn't necessarily indicative of where those teams were now. And Ohio State has rounded into elite status. And you brought up Alabama. So I cover the game. I write, I go back, I write my column, and I'm driving back to the hotel. And at that point, I've got Alabama Arkansas on the I've got the CBS pulled up on my phone, but I'm listening. I'm not watching all I drive. I'm not that reckless. And I'm hearing, you know, Gary, you know, Brad Netflix, it's very excited after and I keep hearing another big play for our kids KJ Jefferson to touch down and then the fake field will and it's just like, I know alam is always gonna get the benefit of the doubt because they're Alabama, but at one point, do we stop and say, I don't think this is that great in Alabama team. If.

"We welcome you back a little bit of other news today that's interesting. Quite held and fired a couple weeks ago by southern cow is going to be the next coach at Georgia, southern, meanwhile, my Bianchi joining us, longtime columnist in Orlando, great talk show host and Mike it's always good to talk to you. How are you? Always good to be on with the second most beautiful bald man in the south as you know that Paul? Great to have you with this column on Dan Mullen and I want you to explain it, because I think it's interesting that you point out he's not getting fired, but and I think that's a very big bud. Yeah, I don't think he's going to get fired this year. Scott Strickland just gave you a contract extension. Scott Strickland is sort of tied to Dan Holland Dan Mullen at the hip. Right now. And I think Scott Strickland believes that this program is not in disarray, yeah, recruiting is an issue now. That's obvious, but you look at Florida's games this year. It's not like they're besides the Georgia game, which was that was a clobbering. But Alabama, this extra point, maybe they could have beaten Alabama. LSU, that game was a write down to the wire game, Kentucky, a fluky block field. Florida's actually out gained every opponent on their schedule this year. They badly out gained Alabama. They badly out gained Kentucky. They even out gained Georgia by a yard. I think it was. So how many Scott Strickland still thinks damn moan is a good coach and a good play caller and all of that, but there are some things that need to be addressed when it comes to recruiting and the talent discrepancy between Florida and Georgia and Florida and the rest of the elite teams in college football. Mike, listen, I think he certainly is good, but you talk to fans every day on your show. What are they saying and where do they go from here? Well, Paul, you know how what happens when a negativity or is Ron zook used to call it? I'm always in the system when the noise and the system creates in and the fans start getting down under coach and then Dan Mullen makes the dumb move of canceling all the media availability this week. That spirals out of control. So the mainstream media starts writing negative stories as well. And that negativity feeds on itself. Dan Mullins is not doing himself any favors by how he's acting. We've seen that in the past last year, for instance, he got himself in trouble with his attitude and his arrogance and it's happening again. So Dan Mullen needs to start acting like a true leader and realize that this is a big boy football and start and stop treating it like big baby football because he's acting like a big baby right now. I'm curious Mike and sometimes people think this is inside baseball. And it is to a point, but when you're under fire like he is and developments happen like they did yesterday. It creates a much more toxic situation than it deserves, but why would a school and I think they usually had good PR down? There you tell me, do something that is only going to bring negativity to the program. Like canceling the media availability. I don't understand it. If somebody is advising ten, Mullen, they need to stop it, all right? Or if nobody's advising Dan, Mullen, they need to start advising Dan Mullen. But I think then more just I think Florida might be trying to advise him, but again, Dan Mullen is sometimes a petulant child. He does things his own way. Sometimes he's not going to listen to people. So again, I don't know who is advising Florida Dan Mullen prize, but somebody needs to start whether it be Scott Strickland, I think it has to start there. He's the AD and he has to tell Dan Mullen. Listen, you're not doing yourself any favors. You're just throwing a bunch of gasoline on an already volatile situation. But Mike, wouldn't this conversation have already happened a year ago there were countless incidents which we all talked about, whether they were as bad as we made them out to be or not. But he had four or 5 starting with the Halloween mass situation with his kids and so many other issues that it's hard for me to believe at this point Scott hasn't already had that conversation. Well, they certainly had conversations last year when after the last of Texas a and M when Dan Mullen said, hey, we need to pack the swamp next week during the raging pandemic and the school president and Scott Strickland and all of them sort of, they essentially called Dan Mullen on the carpet for that and Dan Mullen sort of apologized the week after. But again, I don't know if there's anything Scott Strickland can deal with Dan Mullen because of his attitude. There's a reason that when will must champ got fired at the university of Florida that Jeremy foley, he didn't hire Dan Mullen. He hired Jim mcelwain instead, even though Dan Mullen was probably the better candidate, but Jeremy foley never liked Dan Mullen's attitude when he was an assistant coach at Florida, thought he was arrogant, thought he was petulant..

And get this show off and running. Get this month off and running and the headline that we put up there is how Georgia built in your perfect defense under Kirby smart. Probably the same reason they dominated the Gators on Saturday and many are asking, including one of our guests, does that have anything to do with recruiting? Just Mike. Think about this for a second. This is the FBS recruiting ranking the past 5 seasons 16 through this year. Georgia, one, two, two, three and one. Is that Alabama or Georgia? Florida, 13 9 8, ten and 23. That is Florida. What about it coach Mullen is recruiting a problem? Has come up a lot in the last couple of days on the.

"Thanks. Brenton, in Georgia, is up next. To hey Breton. Hi, Paul. Roll top, but I don't want to talk about a little bit about your hearing. Carby done a fantastic job of recruiting. They've been so close to win. How much pressure is our viewers now? They're number one, everybody's talking about. If I don't win the benefit this year, I believe there's happened. Listen, when you're the number one team in the country, it carries with it a lot of pressure. We beating the number two team is great, but you'll still see it in a Kentucky would be more than happy to beat in the number two team tomorrow. But there is something magical about number one, I don't care what any code says. And I think Kirby, I joked with him about it. He always says the same thing, because that's how you have to be. And I think it's worked to his advantage, but I would agree. This is the first time in 17 the expectations were different. Remember that team lost to auburn, they it was a completely different situation back then. And even in the Alabama game, Alabama was favored, this is a different situation and Georgia will be favored against everyone probably including Alabama if they face each other and when you get people saying like they have all week, Georgia is now the favorite to win Georgia is going to win. They have the best team. It adds to what happens when you fall. I've seen Alabama teams that were supposed to win, not win. And we experienced it this week on this program. And it does come with a big price. Do you think they're defense, you know? Or at this point, but not really facing like by rose the bottle as well. Down the field, do you think that's going to hurt them? Maybe because they're scared to really show any quarterback that really probably will scare them. I'm not looking past tomorrow, but I am really interested in two weeks from now against Florida. And we can either give Dan Mullen all the praise or not, but he is, he is a dynamic play caller and he comes out. He's come up with some he had a great strategy two years ago against Joe burrow and not against your overall, but against that LSU defense. And I would be a little concerned about that game and I know the rivalry comes into it, but other than that, no, I mean, at least until Alabama, the dogs are not going to see anybody that should put the fear into them. I'll give it a shot. And i think i think you're exactly right. What what the message. At the commissioner is sending out is if you choose not to be vaccinated then you are walking down a very slippery slope and he said it a couple of times. You've heard him say it here. He's taught he may mean he mentioned it right after the flat out of college world series with nc state that you know he's he's saying you're your players won't have to go through the the covert protocol meeting the testing pattern the testing if you're vaccinated and You have a much better chance of losing players due to covert and it. It's still there. Everyone knows that we see it every day. Whether it's the olympics or baseball or basketball we've seen it and there's there's no getting around it. I mean he. He's advocating the vaccine. I don't think there's any escaping that from from where. I'm sitting the same for you. Pat yes and and i am. I'm i'm trying to think of a word for the appropriate circumstances. It's fantastic that he's taking that approach. A lot of people aren't and i just don't know what to say. People get people look at vaccine and they. They either. A four against based on ideology. The commissioner is not doing that simply saying if you wanna if you wanna compete with a healthy football team. That's what we're suggesting because we're not stopping this year and we're not slowing down and we're not going to do what we did last year when everybody was dealing with the same thing and there was no vaccine so i think he's i think even though he's he's nuancing his these nuancing the words. I think he's pretty emphatic. Well if i can figure it out there's not much of a nuance to paul make. Hey thanks to call map appreciate it. That was a big. That was certainly the big story of the day. And you you knew it would be. Yeah you knew it would be with all the news coverage of the delta variant. The playbook we look literally wrote the playbook on how to work flexibly so our playbook is we do its way. We have a workshop experience around that we're building community around that so communities of people and members. They're looking to master. The skill of flexibility and develop a future mindset says we do in our community product and on the other side of sway. We're developing thought leadership series on the. Why because i really think that. The how is super important nesting media problem or dressing. Now how do. I work flexibly. How do i schedule myself. But the real undiscovered gender in all of this. Is we stage. We start asking yourself why. Why does this matter. Why do we want flexibly what is changing. And why does it matter to me. Says the thought leadership side sway. And that's where we're running with so you're a community and people pay to be a part of it. What could a member expect in terms of content programming and value from sway. So all remembers come to us for a workshop and a learning experience and what that is. It's alive engaging intensive looking experience around the playbook which is your personal plan for how you are going to work flexibly. So i think we're moving away from the command and control structure of top hierarchy moving more towards a personalized playbook at how use literally are going to schedule your time your day. Your energy do you re engineer. How you communicate and see people worked together flexibly so we literally end are learning point with a plan in place for you how to do it. Well

"So I think the new coach if you get the right guy, he can come in potentially lean on the offense and score a bunch of points. But they've still got a lot of glaring holes that need to be filled. And they're in the division still with Drew Brees and Tom Brady and Carolina who's pretty bad, but you got two teams that are really good, and they're at the top of the division. I think the Falcons and everything goes perfect. They could be a nine and seven tight team 10 and six a year from now, but I really think this is almost at the point of complete tear down and rebuild. And you might be a couple of years away from getting back into the playoffs is their quarterback that fans have fallen in love with in the draft process so far, four that's also realistic. I know you guys were based in New York. Tell the jet stay the hell away from Justin Fields. We want him in Atlanta. He's in Atlanta kid. He went to the University of Georgia before they made the wrong choice and stuck with Jake Brahm. I think everybody in Atlanta If there's a Q B, they wanted drafted Number four. It's going to be Justin Field. I'm just not sure what you do it number four. It's field. Isn't there came needs an edge rusher in the worst way. I think it's too high to take Michael Parsons or somebody like Gregory Russo at Number four. They don't need receivers. You probably aren't going to draft the corner and Patrick Kane Jr In that place, and they really don't need an offensive lineman to they spent capital or have money tied up on the old line right now, So I think if somebody like field isn't there, a number four. You might see Atlanta trade back and trying to add some pics. Get some cheaper labor in there. But, man, we want justice Field. Tell the Jets Sam Donald is awesome. Keep him for like, two more years and let Urban Meyer or Dan Mullen. Whoever takes that job build around. Jet fans may just tell you're out of luck. And then you have to settle for Zach Wilson. Would they take Zack Wilson? You think would they take him? Yes, But here's the problem in an Atlanta such a culturally diverse city. I remember the Matt Ryan pick back in 2008 Remember Mike Vick has been in prison. The team would completely bottom out with that idiot. Bobby Petrino is the head coach South and Sam wanted Glenn Dorsey, the defensive tackle out of L s U, and they booed the hell out of that line. And for 13 years that lion's been pretty close to an elite quarterback. Yet we have a portion of our fan base who hates them. Exact Wilson. The problem is he doesn't pass the ICU every week. Test out your Zach and I watch a ton of college football. I know that Wilson could play quarterback and BYU, and I think he's got a chance to be a pretty damn good NFL quarterback. I'm just not sure that Falcon fans would fall in love with Jack Wilson the way they would with Justin Fields. John Michaels from the fan here with us in our coaching carousel. It is exact Gelb show. There's some thought that maybe Raheem Morris could be brought back as the head coach or move the interim, tacky to go for in seven since taking over for Dan Quinn, you're on the clock. Who do you go for the next Falcons coach? While I love Raheem Morris. Great, Dude, I need everything that's been the last three years for the Falcons completely eradicated and wiped away. Nobody from that staff needs to be there. So right hand good luck. Wherever your next stop it. I want Eric the enemy. They should have hired him at the end of 2019. They should have fired Dan Quinn after a one in seven start. They've had the ultimate terrible decision. Brings EQ back and give him another year In 2020. It turned into another lost year where you wasted time with bad Giulio. But Eric the enemy. I get it. Kansas City's that Pat Mahomes and nine million weapons He's directed a top three offense the last three years. He's been the hot candidate the last couple of years. And I think this is a year you come to Atlanta with a new GM the potential to make that offense home as we talked about at the beginning go, he'll get a running back in the second round, the heir apparent to Matt line in the first round and let's get this thing turned around sooner rather than later. Give me Eric the enemy and I can tell you now, Falcon fans will take bags off their head and show back up the Mercedes Benz Stadium. John Michaels going there the enemy. Let's spin the wheel will get to our final team. The Detroit Lions. Sixth and final stop on the coaching carousel. We head to the motor city, their last two head coaching hires for the Detroit Lions. Where Matt Patricia, and before that Jim Caldwell. Jim Caldwell was 36 28 did take the organization. Two playoff appearances. But they didn't deem that good enough and they brought in at the time. Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, who went in abysmal 13 29, and one to discuss the next line, said, coach we bring in Mike Stone Stony, the long time Detroit talk show host here morning drive. On the ticket. And Mike this would usually be the part of the conversation where we would be s and have some small talk, except that small talk would have to.

Chris Doering talks Florida and Georgia

"We welcome in chris during Who gives us her. Quite a look ahead to tomorrow's game. Chris in most years florida hosting lsu of the sec this week. It's been pretty quiet. I am curious as you know those two teams so well especially from florida side What what are they thinking as they get one of their bitter rivals in a bitter rival that they are a prohibitive favorite. It is weird. Isn't it paula. Me and thinking back to win. This game was originally scheduled. I thought most lsu people felt like we're gonna get a chance to play later in the year we'll get healthier. We'll get miles brennan back. We'll be in better position. And i would argue that. They're actually in a worse position now than when they were originally scheduled in october. So i it's kind of a weird dynamic with a lotta florida. Fans looking forward to sec. Championship game next weekend for me. This is all about. Florida has nothing to do with their opponent. Lsu it's about getting right offensively full full-fledged dress rehearsal right costumes everything. Let's go for what we're gonna do next week. I i honestly been kind of disappointed with florida's offensive performance. The last three weeks dating back to the vanderbilt came. Because they just look inconsistent. They look like they walk through a haze periods of time. They look like they're not executing and part of it's their own fault for looking so good against arkansas in the second half and missouri against georgia. We set the bar pretty high for them but focused level has not been there for a full sixty minutes. I want to see all fence. Get back to executing at the level. They were early in the year defensively. Let's get some things shored up. Let's figure out how to keep from giving up these long passing plays. Let's get generate some more pressure on the quarterback. Let's be able to to penetrate and stop the run something. I thought they did. Well against tennessee last week but The thing i'm gonna keep my paul. What are the numbers for. Kyle trask because obviously this is a game as you said against a A bitter rival one. That beat florida by fourteen. Last year florida's got a chance to return the favor but they also have a chance to outduel in back to back weeks what mack jones get did against the very same defense. And don't think that winning the heisman trophy is not something that dan mullen really wants. For contrast and something that will help his program significantly going forward in on that subject. How do you compare. Kyle trash to meg jones. And that's really his main competition now and that we know we know what had next two weeks especially next week but what what what what separates college trask. If anything well first of all. I love both of these guys you know as a former receiver. I love the the accuracy. I love the the the way they re defenses and get the ball to the right guy. On what the defense is dictating But i would go back and say kyle. Traffic is probably had a tougher. Time than what mack jones at and. That's not taking anything away. From mac ios but look at how. Good this offense of line is for alabama. Look at how well they've run the football over the last six games or so look at what. Najji harris has done. Devante smith the reason why iraq jones's numbers look so good on the deep passes over twenty yards and no disrespect. Mac has been really accurate. But when you're throwing a guy that's five yards behind the nearest defender. It makes it a little bit easier. So again i think without the run game florida certainly not able to run the football very well. I don't think they're offensive. Line is the most consistent So i think the load that kyle. Trask bears a little bit harder to to carry them. What jones does now with that being said. Look at the weapons of florida has i. I don't think i've ever been able to say at least in recent years. That florida has more receiving weapons around their quarterback than what alabama does. They've been absolutely loaded but Looking at the way that that not only kind of is utilized trayvon. Grimes justin shorter. All those receivers. Jacob copeland has come on as well Forgetting about tony. Who might be one of the biggest Factor mismatch guys in the sec. Right now but the way. They use the running backs as well. That was something that we saw against georgia so a lot of different guys. That are helping. Kyle trask out. But i think with the advantage that alabama has on the offensive line and that run game to complement the throws down the field. I think kyle may have a little bit more of a impressive Season just because of how much he's had to do himself chris. Couple of games. I want to ask you about one. Particular auburn at mississippi state mississippi state has been up and down we. We've been through that conversation. But i'm really curious about auburn. Because they've had some really good moments this year and then some clunkers especially lately. I know what you're doing here paul. You love it. When i go off on auburn and it's been up and down year with them right early in the season. I was really down on him. I was starting to get A little bit more positive with the way they were able to run the run the football figuring out who they were with take bixby and that offensive line and then they got hit with a bunch of injuries up front Bixby was was banged up.

"Meantime contrast is thrown for five ten and seven touchdowns the Gators last two games Dan Mullen on golden we going as quarterbacks play he was ready and and I think everybody knew we would be in a minute number was called he was ready to go perform he was ready for that moment I think all the preparation you see he's he's been preparing to be the starter for a long time and so when he got that GM he was ready for it and he's performed at that level he does a great job Aaron does a great job in in leadership getting us into the right twenty making a right he's an actor and I feel and you know I mean so let you know I'm just really happy foreman I think it's a great lesson for people in college football today that you know as soon as something does go perfect everybody wants to jump in the transfer portal and he's a guy that's kind of stuck it out worked and worked and continue to grow and develop wanted opportunity came each be
