"Florida's defense and what we see overall this season and I know we talked about Lsu's even in a breakdown against Auburn which is worse. Things Florida's right now. I don't think a right or wrong and you. Know. A long way to go to be mentioned like Florida right now is getting pushed around in the trenches. That's that's going on obviously you lost to defensive Lineman to the NFL, but they're getting pushed around in the trenches. They're not stop in the ground game they're not getting to the quarterback, and then the back half has some question marks. I. Doubt. That's got. But that that's really not you know the strength of Florida Right Todd Grantham, we really respect him and we think he'll get some things turned around with these part of the problems when you don't recruit to the level that Florida thanks should be referring at like Dan, Mullen going to be able to like scheme the offense he's got control of that where the lack of recruitment comes is what you're seeing is on the defensive side of the ball. So I'm not quite sure the interesting part though is. You kind of take it one step further for the gators offense and you listened to Dan Mullen this weekend he says, I don't expect us to go out there and have are sharpest most crispus practices of the year but I expect us to have energy and excitement as we slowly build up to Saturday. So he's kind of already creating this mindset that it could be difficult. To have some success here now the offense is going to have some success but that quote certainly makes me a little nervous specially for a past first offense, and if you look Florida right now anytime, they dropped back to pass their expected points are more than half a point per past fifth best in the country, you'll get Missouri's defense to your question the Kentucky game included where they played fantastically seventy ninth in the country and EPA pass defense. So you would think a normal regular situation. The GATORS ARE GONNA be able to pass all over. Missouri here. Maybe Florida tries to rely on the ground game a little bit. Here's a Davis haven't had the volume.

"Want to allocate your time on Saturday, but I guess the first question I. Have to ask Me No, it tastes twenty twenty all teams are dealing with it. You know what do we take away from Florida kind of shutting away their football program? We think they just pick up right where they left off. Wordy. Potential drop off off where the gators play their first game three weeks on the heels of a loss coming college station our they lost outright is a six point listen. Will break this game down a little bit and we can talk about it for hours but ultimately, price matters and. The largest thing at play here is the adjustment to how we account. For what's going on with this situation? Now I'm higher on Florida Todd. But it's funny that you said, all these games have been decided by seventeen or more because I made this game seventeen oddsmakers have built in that Florida has had two weeks of no activities after. Twenty six recent players and three coaches including Dan Mullen had Kobe, and then there was another six announced yesterday. This Monday was Florida's first day back at practice in two weeks, and now you're up against this. Really. Ball end up in sophisticated coach like Eli during woods. Missouri feels like one of the last teams you'd WanNa. Play in this situation, a well coached team that is willing to play physical grinder. So I'm struggling with the game because of that, and you know that's that's kind of the biggest thing here when you think about what Florida is, it's not the most talented team in gators. Fans will tell you that right? They don't think they recruit well enough with Dan. Mullen. But that's never been Dan mullins mo or stick. It's all about. The game plan, the sophistication of the offense. So all of a sudden if you haven't been around your team. You know what is they've been around together for what's going to be returned on Monday five days of the last twenty one. It's going to be really difficult to make an imprint as a coach and correlating into the NFL level. We've Seen New England struggle or the coach like ballot check during these Cova Times not having enough. You know time with his team to implement new thing. So I think when you look at Florida, the line is short here but the situation certainly is a massive negative against and so that's kind of. The sidelines here despite there being some some value in the price because I think the situation. Is really really up against it here for Florida. Any total Florida.

"Act. program. Live of big early part of the show. Dealing with the big ten issues Wisconsin. On pause we have talked to many many other people right now gives gives me great pleasure. Welcome back to our program booger McFarland. Booker has been too long. How are you doing? Paul what's up baby I'm doing outstanding. It's been a long long time. How are you? My friend? Okay. I'm not seeing you. But then again, that would apply to pretty much the whole free world. You seem like you're you're keeping busy to to a degree. Yeah Paul. You know just talking college football and hanging out with Chris Berman and trying to keep random. I got a pretty full schedule Buddy. What I have gotten I don't know him very well run into obviously. Around. Espn but what's it like to work with one of the legendary figures in sports? Broadcasting History. You know ball he's a wealth of knowledge. and. oftentimes, the mistake people make when when you arouse somebody like Christopher yourself is we want to talk a lot. The best thing you can do when you around his listened because he's stories for day, and if you listen, you'll learn your. You'll hear some magnificent stories back. You gotta remember. Before anybody ever heard a fine Bonnie McFarlane Burma started like he was there day one with the SPN Nineteen, seventy, seven, seventy, eight something like that. So he's been around a long time. He knows where a lot of killers is a very policy I I just sit around and listen to stories all day and try not to. Hurt my side laughing saw. Can, imagine. Booger let's get to college football and we are. At the mid point of some leagues, the beginning of others today we learned about the big ten we had many conversations with you before the season about what should be done or shouldn't be done. How do you think it's going so far? I think overall is probably going as well as. Could, be expected I I think as pertains to the big ten is this just came out with Wisconsin, I think the big ten is painted themselves in a corner and they're going to have to deal with whatever comes out of it as far as Wisconsin basically having to cancel a game I don't think they're going to be the only team that has cancelled game I. think if you're one of the big ten, you just hope. That Michigan and Ohio State and Penn state some of your marketing programs don't have to counter game especially as we get closer to selection Sunday where the College Football playoff is determined. I think when you look great. Thank you and the SEC dumb Paul. They did the one thing that most of America. didn't want to do which was sit back relax way be patient. Don't make a decision to you have to. You have to make a decision then you make one and you know I think so far. So good I if we could only get Dan Mullen to take the coronavirus serious I think the would be in pretty good shape but you know he wants to put ninety thousand in the understand and I don't even know what Florida's going to be the play this week they got six new so. Other than flawed I. Think yes. He handled pretty good in the big twelve. I mean th, they're social distancing their defense as always I mean that nothing nothing about their defensive. Strategies chains, and we'll see what happens with the packs with the PAC. Twelve to me is going to be a fascinating scenario. You especially dealing with what's going on in California and Arizona Those states have been a lot. They're still going through a lot and only with the Koran of our with the tires. It's GonNa. Be Fascinating to see what happens out there in California. The big picture. Starting with Alabama Losing Jason Waddell, some people have written them off which. I think is maybe premature considering how much talent? Is On that team, but it does affect them in what ways do you think it will hurt them the most. They lose an experienced explosive playmaker that doesn't mean that they don't have somebody behind him. You know guy like slave bowling our Louisiana where number eighteen and he came in and gets Tennessee had three or four catches obviously devante Smith is is is really good. They have play makers but what happens Paul is. In, Waddell was the guy that in eating when he touched the ball, where did a kickoff return a punt return of slant a hitch he could take ninety five yards and not that devante. Not. The meet you can't but waddle head that that that extra year that I if you ask Kirby smart and I know you had on your program yesterday I, did you talk to curb Kirby Smart Curb your tail you he had his best quarterback on water. He went right buying for eighty five yards like that's a scary feeling but again, Nick Sabin recruits well, nobody's GonNa feel sorry for Alabama they got other five star players on the field and as long as Jones played at the level he's playing Paul I think people are right to put Alabama and Ohio state and Clemson Kinda penciled them in the playoffs because it's going to be tough to beat those three teams Kirby said he's sticking with debts Bennett I mean not that I expected him to say anything else. But Kim Georgia survive a against Florida next week and maybe against Alabama again. With him at quarterback. No and and and if I were call curb, your takes care about telling the same thing I like the mailman it's a great story I. Love It. It's good for you know talk about it on the radio and it's a it's GonNa make good good thirty for thirty one day. But if Kirby smart is trying to get over the Hump Fall and by hunt by me winning that a championship, I, mean, you know, let's let's start with an sec title and then we can move on to the national titles. He's GonNa. Do that you gotTa have a playmaker position and look no further Paul and Georgia Lsu that have struggled. At that position, a Lotta town elsewhere what happened Lsu fall last year when they got a quarterback, I mean they it was it was records. I just feel like Kirby can have the same thing. They're Georgia I'm not sure what's going on with JT Daniels. I'm not as connected down in Athens, but it seems.

Wouldn't sure what the construct worth I went with betting on women's final four. which you know is kind of weird, but evidently that's not weird enough amongst people on twitter in the crew here I'll share mine real quick couple years ago I found myself in Albuquerque New Mexico where I was dating my now wife and In, so we go home for Christmas, and at that point. There was a club volleyball tournament that we got roped into with. A six, my sixth grade now I guess what knee Sorta, my wife's niece, and so we get there and I might. On my go. How long are we stand for this thing like thirty? And they were here for the day, so we're like a soul, six hours into club volleyball in Albuquerque New Mexico sixth graders, and at some point I'm just bored as hell. I've scroll through twitter I've done every single social media website. I finished Internet and other dad and I'm like and he was filling the same thing. I'm like well. Let's do this I. Said Twenty dollars a game. Let's just go to a random. Because I didn't want to bet on his girls game. Because he already knew the information here he had the scouting report on whether or not they good or not. We're about betting against. His daughter was just more about unfair. De Listen money's money to be honest with you. I would absolutely bet against my daughter. In any sport of it means that I could at least purchaser something I'm not I'm that's the human being I am, so we made us go across the gym because it's played in one of these big auditoriums and we went from like Riodosa new. Okay that are just randomly betting by the way ended up one hundred twenty dollars up grade bookkeeper, or you're getting a little skimmed off the top I'm not gonNA agree or disagree because I don't remember if I can go back and do my taxes from that year. I think this is back in twenty eleven I don't need to talk about that per se but that's your problem, you know. My daughter played club volleyball for her entire life. The thing that you missed out on his all the veteran DADS. They always tailgate inbetween games. You go outside. You got a cool. You're drinking beers, you're it makes the volleyball much more funds so. I blame. You didn't get good guidance from the other. C. Kriss Dory being hammered gambling on some other like. You know. With officials got into the T. you know it helps fuel the intensity of the Games when your tailgate in between round, the Horne Anthony right now strangest thing that you have ever gambled on in in your life here. So back in college now it's at UCF. We had a group of like four or five of us that went from Miami up to Orlando to go to school and we I'm going. "Thorough well wasn't exactly a betting man, and said why not, so he plays the ten pound bet that would win him. Ten Thousand Pounds on This Day July twentieth nineteen sixty nine five years after placing his wager throw fell watch Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin land on the moon, and he celebrated live winning. What's the equivalent now of twenty four thousand dollars CD that was. Twenty four thousand dollars in US currency at that time, which would be worth one hundred, sixty, eight thousand now. I think in today's dollar in today's Day. Not Bad, not a bad little. He left out the most important part of that story. Though yes, what is? He got killed in a car accident a year later. Wait. Why is that important part of the story like that has nothing to do with the story like Debbie Downer like we've tried to be positive. This entire I talked about the coronavirus Oxford vaccine. Being good news felt we were on a positive note. You nailed all your sportscenter updates for the last at least our and then I tell this great. Great Story about how this guy made a bunch of money paying off on a man on the moon. Bet and then you gotta go, Yada Yada Yada. He died in a car accident. I think you also left out the fact that he may have had some inside information from NASA. The odds were much shorter within the building and maybe Karma got him. You know we talked about the gambling gods early. Saying I mean didn't get to spend his money. Where was unbelievable? Did you just turn into Chris cody and try to a show killer just at the end of it and just be all about content I give. We're on this show for three hours I. "Your sportscenter reads at ten o'clock to where we're here in the last hour. The lebatardshow it's, it's amazing you. You could be coached coach on your arm. You are capable joining us right now. On the Shell Pennzoil performance line. Line, one of those coaches probably does as good of a job at coaching. His talent is anybody in college, Football. Coach Dan Mullen coach. Let's start with this question. If I were to tell you between Chris during an me Peter Burns that one of us has bet and one hundred and twenty dollars gambling on sixth grade girls club volleyball in the state of New Mexico. Who Do you think it would be? That would definitely be doering. GotTa, go gotTa go with him on I. Told I told TV guess me, and in fact is Peter Burns I've never even set foot in New Mexico to this point in time in my life. To Mexico was the only one that gave you a chance me a little bit of hesitation on the door, but P That's Y-. You just really just really dropped your self in my book right there. What really I wasn't? I gotta be honest with you. I was real high in your book. Right now at you and Meghan are probably disappointed in me. But what about that is that? He thought that's where I wasn't his book. Happy being. Ready. Like that would be like a regular Tuesday afternoon for during. You know what I mean, right? No, no full disclosure coach I did not know any of the kids. I was just there as a spectator on behalf of of my my. My wife Lauren. It was her niece that was there I got drug along to this thing and I was just trying to kill some time, so does that change your perception? It wasn't like I knew inside information on sixth grade. Girls Club Volleyball I was trying to make money I was just trying to kill some time here. Yeah I mean just really think about that for a second. Just just think about where that pulls yourself I. Mean you're sitting there Maybe you put now where you take it where you taking odds are. Who are you actually betting? So what it was was there was another dad. There was a dad there, and he was watching his daughter court, or over and we. Both of them started talking about how boring this was. He's again I'm. I'm here all day and I was like WanNa. We tell you what why don't we go on the other side of the court and the gymnasium and just bet on this random team and I'll take whoever you take whatever, and by the end of the day we had like eight. Dad's ever together like this This gambling group in there was money flying. I'm not proud of the moment Dan Mullen, but it is what it is. Well I guess I guess that would be like gone to any little league. And checking. What's in that the you know what's actually? All the getty cups around like a little league field right all right like like. Hey, there's there's noone literally game at at on. Everyone's got their Yeti Cup out there. Like Hey, what you know what's in there? I'll just some order you know. That's exactly right goes. Hey! I don't know if you know this or not. You probably remember a couple years ago as part of him on the SEC network spring assignments, I went out with coach. Mullen we ran. He had me like a ten mile run at like six in the morning so coach. Mellon very accomplished when it comes to running in fact ran in the Boston marathon a couple years back. Coach I know you like to challenge yourself during this time that things have been a little bit more less scheduled. What what have you done to challenge yourself that? Maybe you wouldn't have otherwise done over the last couple of months. Well certainly I don't know I. Think I don't know if the running would be up there for me. I got back I'm trying to get myself back on I think put on the covid nineteen but that's that's a result of like when you're at work all the time. I'm on this very get up early. The set schedule eat healthy in the office meeting guns. You know when I'm at home with. The kids. It's like Oh we're we. We'd like this for lunch. Hey, get breakout the chips. Oh, Hey, I'm not gonNA finish that that. Why don't you finish my slice of pizza here? you know and it's a little bit different Diet so You know I. Really I. Don't know that I've done any thinks special in that time I I'm a little disappointed in myself I. Really you know I could like training for a triathlon or gone like really to that extreme, but You know I think the biggest struggle I've had. Is I? I'm very a? Detailed scheduled person. And the whole Covid Kinda let's let's you know. Stay at home and let's try to figure it out and we'll figure it out and you know. I like schedules I like detail. I like exactness so that that's probably been my biggest struggle trying to overcome the lack of structure because I'm a big structure person that have let's figure it out as something that the players in the NFL are complaining about right now, right? They don't feel like the NFL has a good enough plan. Put Together for how they can safely play and report to training camp. Do you get the feeling that what's going on in the NCAA and with the SEC? Specifically that there's a better plan taking place on how to go about getting a season played this fall into. Do it safely as possible. Well I'm not sure I. I think a lot of the question. Marks are out there like I I, read through the NFL, testing, procedure, plan, or the more the biggest one to me is the tracing policy. You know what I mean. What what are you doing for? Guys that have tested negative have no symptoms. You know but might have like you know you know. Walk down the hall with somebody that tested positive you know. And how are they being punished? I read a lot of the I've read some of the NFL testing. Thanks, I. Think they probably have some work to do, but I think there's as much much better policy than what I've seen in college so far for us. You know with with what's come out. but I think they're still seventy S. Out there you know I I think one big thing, the majority of the guys on our team. That I've talked to I, mean they. They WANNA play. You know they WANNA go out and play football, and you know I think they look at it and you know the problem is no one's played. No one's done this and you know I, think if if you're in a house behind closed doors with your family and living there full time you're gonNA spread.

At that point, there was a club volleyball tournament that we got roped into with. A six my sixth grade. Now I guess what niece? My Wife's knees and so we get there and I might. Oh how long we stand for this thing. Thirty were were here for the day, so we're like a soul. Six hours into club volleyball in Albuquerque new, Mexico sixth graders, and at some point I'm just bored as Hell I've scroll through twitter I've done every single social media website I finished Internet and look at other dad and I'm like, and he was filling the same thing a mike well, let's do this I. Said Twenty dollars a game. Let's just go to a random because I I didn't want to bet on his girls game. Boy Yeah because he already knew the information here he had the scouting report whether or not they good or not. About betting against his daughter. About unfair. Listen money's money. Be Honest with you I would absolutely bet against my daughter in any sport. If it means that I could at least purchaser something I'm not. That's human being I am, so. We made us go across the gym because it's played in one of these big auditoriums and we went from like Riodosa. New, Mexico, versus like lost lunacy. New Mexico right, sixth graders and I'm like all right. Let's set the odds by the end of the day. We had a traveling group of about eight DADS. Okay that are just randomly betting by the way ended up one hundred twenty dollars up. bookkeeper or you getting a little skim action off the top I. I'm not going to agree or disagree because I. Don't remember if I can go back into my taxes from that year I. Think this is back in twenty eleven. I don't need to talk about that per se but that's your problem, you know. Are the Cowboys trying to find a job for Jason Garrett other than head coach?

"So Jason Garrett is still the head coach of the cowboys for now despite a general belief that he will not be the coach the team next year so what's taking so long making a with the fort worth star telegram says team owner Jerry Jones has always marched to the beat of his own drum don't want that about your go shooting contracts or situations like that he's not going to do it because he doesn't have to he doesn't have to do anything right now you don't have your own city Jason Garrett under contract for another thirteen days I think I think it's January fourteenth expires or something like that to do anything he doesn't it will expire and all he has to do is either extend them the new deal or taking care will no longer be employed because that's what his contract yeah if for some reason jury decides to bring them back which you can't rule anything out with him if he decides to bring back don't be surprised the guy was a good year because if you look at the timeline of which there's a lot of time now for took to look back on and say well this is what happened they go up they go down they go up they go down and if you look at it before the season started they were due to go down and they did they were from a double what they want from a playoff team came in with divisional round to retain the missed the plaster finish they may they finished eight made four times in his tenure don't be surprised I mean didn't opening this way I would be surprised if he came back but don't be shocked because his team again and now angel says the job is still one of the most coveted head coaching positions in sport actual narrative out there that exist that is incorrect that no one can work with Jerry Jones anybody can work Jerry Jones these metal from you not really metal some if your a strong coach with conviction and you have a clear purpose and idea in mind he's going to go along with it ninety five percent of the time now when you put in a coach who is who is deferential and you just have to have the job we Phillips very Switzer chain gaily to an extent and certainly Dave Campo Grande then he just does whatever wants anything done with the right idea in mind with the heart with a good heart but you know the fan you know takes over and includes his night Jason Garrett was really good for for Jerry Jones a lot of ways you're gonna listen more than you think because he gave Jerry a clear outline of what the council we should look for a player what they should do every day there are some exceptions were teary push something down his throat and that happened from time to time with any team but this idea that Jerry Jones no we can work with them it's not true this is not true the problem the ropes to the long ways Jerry talks and I'll say things that sometimes drug coach crazy because talks and we love them for it he's not going to stop because he owns the team you know hopefully that talking is good for the bottom line creating interest in and out of trouble is now will Jones make a big splash and hire another big coaching name if he does decide to let Jason Garrett go Randy the Los Angeles Lakers New York Yankees buy Dallas Cowboys cetera whomever you hired the splash are there certain games out there that is in place to the job I don't believe I don't believe you are Josh McDaniels the offensive coordinator with the patients who had done it was unsuccessful run as a head coach in Denver I don't think he's going to do that but I you know whether it's been mall and I know Chris Mortensen who is a plugin guy through that one out damn all the head coach of Florida there was a mystery to it because Dan Mullen was Jack Prescott tech coach at Mississippi state but remember he hires winners Bozo the clown whether it's even bring it back Jason Garrett guarantee you one thing it's going to create a buzz a lot of headlines there will meet with the Joneses tomorrow for the third time concerning his coaching

What is the lack that Alabama goes through Auburn game and the big trees, and is it going to take Jalen coming back in order to make that happen through the tide. Todd. I guess you're asking me of what the likelihood is. I think it's pretty overwhelming in my opinion about yours. You know, you don't think there's going to be a factor with Georgia of revenge and then play an above their head more than what people expect. Yeah. Todd, thanks for the call eight to run. We have a guest waiting and we look forward to welcoming. And our next guest. He is Dan Mullen of the university of Florida brought to you by how express be the radius. Coach always great to catch up with you. Congratulations on. On last weekend. The gators. You got you guys. Just don't don't make it easy on the fans falling behind like he did against Vanderbilt and coming back. How are you coach? We're doing good. We're doing good a couple of other comeback win against Carolina last week. So our guys, you know, they have a lot of resiliency that won't quit keep battling. And and keep fighting out there on the field to get us a win. But we also could play the first forty minutes. Like we played the last twenty minutes and make it easier on everybody. Yeah. It's pretty obvious question coaching. I'm sure you've you've probably tried to answer before I asked it. How do you? How do you explain the tale of two halves Vanderbilt?.

"We call that determination a willingness to put in more hours more reps and more heart to reach a bar that sky high because the Goodyear blimp doesn't show up for just anybody. So don't be just anybody the blimp worthy Goodyear more driven, herb Florida before we get into games and some the marquee match ups and top twenty five match ups. When you look at his Florida team going into vandy right, early kick, if we reference there in the conversation with Dan Mullen first dishes feels different right now at Florida to me, what do you see in the Gators? Because it seems to me like there's a, we'll see swagger, but a confidence factor that started to come back down there in Gainesville, come much. Do we love Dan, Mullen? I, I you tall, see, I could see I could see how he recalled. Roots. You know he, he just is one of those guys. You just want to kind of be around his energy, be around his be around him every day. I mean, it's it's not an accident that he's been around a lot of these programs in turning it around like we talked about with him. So I'm with you. I think it does feel different. It's it's fun to see the swamp much like we were talking about Texas. It's fun to see the swamp back to being a real homefield advantage. This program that one four games last year. And is he told us kind of by bipolar up and down and up and down. And I think that's what he's trying to get them to understand is the preparation, the practice, the preparation, all that goes into getting them ready, the game, you just go into autopilot. If you do what you're supposed to do from Sunday to Friday games to fund part, but he'd like right. School turn it loose yet. But if you don't do it, you know, I I've talked with so many guys who gone on to become elite players in the NFL and Peyton Manning, especially to talk to me about this about little things like his individual drills that he did when he was with the colts. He would approach them in the same manner and the same intensity as a game. And I thought, man, I, you got to be the only guy in America that's going. Most guys are just kind of getting through individual just kind of warming up and trying to get this individual drills usually at the beginning of practice and guys just kinda, you know, you're going about seventy or eighty percent kinda working the kinks out before you get into some real stuff and Peyton. We'll talk about, you know, the little things like how he handed the ball off the address James in practice and how he wanted to make sure it was just the way he did it in games and and everything the finest detail. And I thought that that's so interesting. And I think the guys that become really good and the teams have become really good. They get that part of it is important. Practice convey, and that's just not coached beak. I think it's it's real. And so I think he's getting his team to understand that and the fact that are winning games, I think they're going to do anything and everything that he says. But the swamp is back to being a hostile environment, the defenses playing the way you expect a Florida defense to play tiger aren't doing a great job. And the other thing that I think is that the energy did you see their locker room celebration when they beat Mississippi State when they they're all excited for him. Dan Mullen almost for their coach. Yeah, yeah. Yeah..

"Kirk to protect you and your family go to the Gators Dan Mullen next Herbie and Fitz or it'd be, let's bring in a man who we've known going back to his days with a Utah. You. They're going to feed it out there on the Wasatch front. And that is the head coach of the mighty Gators yet Gators looking mighty again folks, and that's Dan Mullen who joins us on Herbie and fits on the shell Pennzoil performance line coach. Your guys looked like we were just talking during the break that your guys look like. They've gone from kind of knowing they can win a game, a big game to believing they can win a big game to describe that difference in just that little bit of knowing you can win to believing you're going to win. I think I think a lot house when we got here, you know, there's the guys come to Florida come to Florida, and they think they're put on that gator uniform that that entitles them to play in and win big games and just because of what happened before them. And I think one of the things that's changed with this team right now is they're learning as a team how to come together and how hard you have to work and the things you need to do to be successful out there on the field. And you You know. know, I, I think it started when we first got here through the off season and they saw their their their physical and and growth and conditioning growth. And then you know, once the season started and they've, you know, they've bought into working and practicing harder every single week and all of a sudden they notice they start playing better. And you know, when the guys start to believe that, hey, the this, this team approach, how we're doing this program, we're going to be successful. You're gonna find a way to win these tough games. This team that last year one, four games. I mean, we see that Florida uniform and we, we all are kind of trained to thinking either the right in the mix every year for the SEC eased, and but there have been some some tough years for for this program for some of these players. What did you find when you got back to Gainesville and you started do not just address this team, but you started put him through winter conditioning started, put him get ready for spring ball, and you know what it takes to be a great team. What did you? What did you see when you first got there? I think one of the hardest things was you. You saw a team that there's some talent we, we have some talent here, you know, and but you had a team that was very bipolar, and I don't think at any understanding what it took to be a successful program United team that could win games. But because if you look at the last four years, Florida's one to SEC east championships and had two, four win seasons and that that doesn't add up, you know, I mean, they're like, you can't even like, how do you do that? So it's a team that you know was was almost almost like a bipolar team or had no idea what they were doing. They're just kind of go out there and sometimes on talent we'd show up and win big games and and other times we wouldn't. And so I, I think the biggest thing we had to do was put in a plan and show them. This is what it takes to be a great program, not just a great football team to be a great football program. And one is gonna take winning consistently and to do that. There's a certain level of expectations you have to have within the program in a standard that you have to set the. You have to live up to not year by year a standard that you have to live up to day by day. And I are guys really started to buy in to that. I think you know, Nick savage in the off season. They went through the first off season conditioning program, a guy. So these massive strength gains and they saw physical change in their body, and so then it became easy to buy in. So Cal coach, I understand now afterwards while you're on a so much, but we understand why we need to do that..

"And we'll see if they can keep it going long orange, the black chaps they've got something going down there in Austin, Texas, without a doubt Herbie, and then fall out from that. Also your reaction to Lincoln Riley saying, hey, we gotta make a change at defensive coordinator in Mike stoops is now out Ruffin McNeill now fills in as a you, your reaction. You know, I, it's tough. Anytime a coach gets let go middle the years specially after everything. Mike has done for the program. Some of the championships. He's been a part of. Over the over the long haul. I'm sure with Lincoln Riley when he under the circumstances that he took the job, I've never talked to him about this, but the Oklahoma defense has been struggling for a few years and I don't take it's Mike. I think it's as much about recruiting as it is Mike. And yet he did go out and bring rough McNeil in, you know, and, and I, you wonder if he kinda put him on the backburner there just in case things got sideways last year, it is. I fear to to kind of go that route. And then you would have thought if he was frustrated to this point mitt to remove him in the middle of the year that maybe he would have done it before the season started. So I, it's just it's a little team that still can accomplish so much. I always get a little nervous and feel I just it really has to be bad to make a move five weeks into the season, you know, and. We'll see how maybe it maybe a change in the front of the room and the defense will help. But I, I've always look at Mike is as one of the top defensive mines out there, and hopefully he'll have a chance to kind of sit back, reevaluate and come back swinging somewhere else. And tell you what I'd do by the way, come on tell you what I would do. I would. I would get on the first plane. If our Mike, I would get on the first plane to Tuscaloosa and I would become one of Nick savings analysts. If I wanted to continue to coach, I would. We come when Nick savings analysts like Kevin Steele did after he gave up one hundred points to West Virginia when he was a Clemson and he went there for year. Next thing, you know, Nick put his hand on his head. Kevin Steele went to Auburn and while up, he's the best defensive coordinator in the history college football when he went to offer because he had a couple defense alignment rush to quarterback. So if Mike stoops wants to continue to to coach and kind of resurrect himself and let people know he can still do this. I think that the first call would be Nick Saban go work on his staff and next year as an analyst and maybe twenty nineteen become one of the the hot commodities. It's out there is a new defensive coach and pick up a few new ring. Ankles along the way at Nick system and re reinvent yourself a little bit. I, that's that's what I would do. I think there are a lot of coaches that have done that including his current offense coordinator, Mike Loxley who is done. You know, he started there as an analyst and lane kiffin left and Sark left and Brian David left, and there's, there's locks, Colin right now. Some people feel is maybe the best offense in the history college football and these the offense coordinator. So they'll be another day sun will come up and and but that's what I would do. If if if I were Mike men are her, I didn't even thought of that aspect in that direction for Mike stoops guy. We both known for a long long time. You obviously a lot longer than I have, but best to him because I'm with you. I think he's one heck of a coach, and that would not be a bad spot to go to for year. If you mentioned if he wants to to keep coaching coming up in a moment, the head coach of the Florida Gators Dan Mullen right here on Herbie and Fitz reminder a look this, what you want your family to be safe, and here's why..

"Dan Mullen, and this Florida offense two hundred forty yards so far in total offense one twenty on the ground twenty through the air. They take over. They have a fourteen ten lead. I down a tenth of the Gators at their own eight yard line. Tiger defense would love to make another big play here grand jail. But with an interception in the opening drive of the third quarter. As the Gators were driving took it away in the end zone to bring it back. The other way now Philippi francs design run looking for something off to the right side. Brennan into his own offensive lineman. But able to bounce his way up near the fourteen yard line. For the Tigers bringing down after a gain of six second down and four at the fourteenth fans. Come test drive. The all new Kubota. Sidekick utility vehicle today. Visit go Kubota dot com. The louisianakubotadealers near you. Florida now lines it up second down forth their own fourteen yard line LSU with three down linemen. Thornton just off the edge and that linebacker spot that buck position for Dave Aranda Felipe eight francs will send two receivers left single back handed off and going right side is going to be scarlet not much room. There got to the fifteen only about a gain of a yard. It'll be third down and three here for the Florida offense who so far today just one for six on third downs. Nice job right there by Michael divinity, junior string out that option play. He took the kids, and it Baskerville did a nice up or young linebacker staying inside out on cranks. Even though he spun ruin able to make something happens. Good play their third down and.
