"Got a guy who's determined to be the next US congressman from the ninth district, working hard and running against a guy he can be the son of ROY Cooper, Dan mccready, because he says, little and does even less to. I mean he really is learned to say nothing in the question is, how does how do you run against somebody who, who takes no stands on anything and is running commercials in which in the commercial. He says, I'm going to help local schools as a US congressman, which is a total lie. It's like John Edwards. You say the same thing when he ran for the US Senate. So Dan, Bishop has quite a job on his hand to run against a guy who says nothing. Dan? What are you gonna do about this? Governor. Oh boy. Here's what we're gonna do. Frustrating. And so you have exactly exactly the same problem in governor Cooper, McCreadie has perfected to an art form saying nothing and, and, but you can and the media's let him get away with. Absolutely, and always will. So what we're going to do is call it out. And and we've shown. Really a great example. And talking about. Sheriff McFadden releasing dangerous. After they'd been arrested twice and involved in a long hour. Police standoff. And, and that's what the sheriff is doing. And we said that's reprehensible, don't you agree wrong? Dan? And, and he says, we need comprehensive immigration. We read his we read his response. He said, nothing exactly do nothing but people figure that out, and I think that's need to hear the issues that are critical really alarming, and anyone who says he's country over party would call that out. And you will not the media won't even ask a follow up question when they when he says, nothing to that question, and it, it is relevant for US congressman to ask about sanctuary cities, because that's our immigration law, which is federal law in dot cooperate with ice is a federal agency. So it's, it's not like talking about what are you going to do to improve Garin highschool? Well, really, you can do nothing. That's not your job. That's the school board's job. That's the state legislators job in the governor's job, but immigration, that's something you have something to do with immigration and it's impacting your district. Ninth district by our our sheriff not doing anything about it. Absolutely. And every federal official in some of these things. Pat, the lines here this is an effectiveness of basic effectiveness to keep Americans safe. From rampant illegal immigration, and that can be associated with it begs the question, or our law enforcement officials here in North Carolina in Charlotte going to cooperate basic cooperation to federal law enforcement. That's what amounts to and the answer chairman and has given is absolutely not. And, and Dan mccready. Mr. country over party will not even come out in condemn that he will say nothing. The governor say nothing about it. The state Democratic Party is saying nothing about it. Nancy Pelosi say nothing about it regarding illegal immigration. They don't even use the word illegal has as Dan mccready ever used the word illegal immigration. They have the coachspeak say certain words, I'm pretty sure that's not on the list, and, and therefore will not be talked about it's immigrant or refugee that, that Nancy Pelosi ROY Cooper, and Dan Macri to use those words, they cannot use illegal immigrant. Not, not permitted on the democratic side. But in here Dan mccready that he's going to be independent of party, but he falls right in line. He's singing in the chorus in, in the phrases that uses like comprehensive immigration reform, or bipartisan immigration reform. We know detail whatsoever. Any words. No detail whatsoever. I'm in this campaign, Pat. And that's what it comes down to clear choice between amnesty on the one hand he'll support. That's what he'll enable and Trump agenda of deporting dangerous criminals and fixing broken immigration system, and protecting American from rampant illegal immigration. And this was about midday or or so appearing in a Q and A, and we have some audio and CNN, I think Dan's probably gonna void FOX. But on CNN, he went on CNN, and he got a very softball interview. No, better person respond to softball interviews is Dan mccready. He's one of the best. I've ever heard at staying on focused on what he needs to stay and never varying from very simple response. And his whole campaign team looks like it's going to be about fraud. That's why you should let me. So let's see what he has to say in how hard CNN presses line-by-line, Pat mccrory. So it's been months now at this point since the election, you initially conceited, and then upon realizing that there appear to be this significant discrepancy when it came to these absentee ballots, you retracted your concession. But then last week was really when we heard all of the details in this testimony before the board of elections, we heard from people, including one person who has paid to commit voter fraud as you were hearing, these descriptions, what were you thinking? Gosh, I just I had no idea we'd heard allegations about this fraud. Stop. He just said two things we had no idea. And then he says, but we've been hearing these allegations. Which one is it you had no idea or you've been hearing about these allegations. Because if you've been hearing about these allegations, why didn't you do anything about it before? Just just just do in line by line. That's the job. Okay. I had no idea how deep and how it went. And then it went all the way to the very top of my opponent's campaign. Wait a minute. Stop stop how deep or wide. It is. He's been saying on TV now for months there are hundreds if not thousands of votes that were impacted by election fraud. Hundreds if not thousands of votes, that's pretty deep. But you're now saying you didn't know how deep it was until the hearing when two weeks before the hearing you were saying there were thousands of boats, which we still know about because your lawyer wanted that hearing to end as quick as possible. Okay. Saw cover-ups of evidence that was not being submitted to the board under under subpoena. We saw leapt early voting information from local board of elections to their campaign, but more than anything we saw actual systematic criminal activity where my opponent's campaign hired people to go to voters houses and take their ballots sometimes fill in choices for other candidates. It appears that they threw ballots in the trash here. This is there's nothing more sacred in our country. Then your right to vote song. Stop right there. He's right. Except for one thing. Nancy pelosi. His fighting to have states change those laws and allow that to happen. We're other people can collect the ballots. In fact, she got it legalized in California. So one minute. It's four thirty five from NPR news. This is all things considered. I'm Mary Louise Kelley three months after voters went to the polls in the midterm elections. North Carolina's ninth district. Still does not have representation in the US House Republican Mark Harris, led democrat, Dan mccready by nine hundred five votes in the unofficial tally. But back into summer, the state board of elections opened an investigation into potential election fraud there instead of certifying the race. And today, we are getting a look at what investigators have uncovered NPR's miles parks has been in the state board of elections hearing in Raleigh all day, either miles. Hi there. Hi. So what did we learn today that might move this whole situation forward? So media reports have been swirling about this race for months, as you know, but we'd heard absolutely nothing from the state board about what they'd found and they broke. Silence today. A state board of executive director Kim struck opened the hearing with a presentation where she should quote, the evidence will show that a coordinated unlawful and substantially resource absentee ballots scheme operated during the two thousand eighteen general election that scheme she says was orchestrated by political operative named McRae. Doubtless who's working on behalf of Marquez campaign. Struck said Dallas paid people to collect ballots, which is legal North Carolina. And there's also some question about whether all the ballots, he collected were turned in or manipulated in some way, one of the people who says Dallas paid her with Lisa bridge. She's Dallas is former stepdaughter, and she was the first witness to testify today and her testimony took up most of the day. Okay. So she obviously had a lot to say what did she reveal about this reported operation? So she says she was paid by Dallas to collect ballots into register people to vote and that matched what investigators said which was that. There was a system in place one hundred twenty five dollars per fifty absentee ballots collected. I should know that this was a very emotional testimony for Brit as I said, former stepdaughter to McRae Dallas, she kept saying how she thought her father would never have her do anything illegal, and this is with McRae Dallas sitting in the room watching her testimony. Britt also laid out how Dallas has worked to obstruct the state boards investigation. She said he held a meeting at his house where he told people he paid that they had to stick together. And then maybe the most striking moment of the day came when Brits said that even this past Thursday, Dallas had her over to his house, and he gave her this piece of paper that had what he wanted her to say today, basically that she didn't do anything wrong anything wrong. He didn't do anything wrong, and that she was taking the fifth amendment that makes it really hard for anyone argued at Dallas didn't know that what he was doing was wrong. And Brent also talked about how there were specific instructions for how to turn in the ballots as to not raise any red flags. That's her quote red flags with the state board of elections. I mean, just quickly as Dallas expected to testify at some future point. It doesn't look like it. He was called today but voluntarily and he declined to require him to testify with me, offering him immunity, according to the state board and chair Robert Cordell said he was not willing to offer that at this point. Okay. And to the big question was there any indication? And so far that Harris the Republican candidate that he knew about this alleged operation. There weren't any indications of that revealed today, though, Dallas has been investigated before for his election tactics. I need also has a number of felonies including for fraud on his record. But Brit actually made a point to say, she didn't think Harris knew anything about the operation. Here's a clip. One.

And depending on who you ask is what we're actually going to get out of this today, we could get a lot or this could be kicking the kicking the can down the road a bit further. You know, I will tell you this the North Carolina GOP, the Republican party the heck the heads of it, all they honestly believe with all their heart and soul that Mark will be certified as the winner today by the court. I mean, they truly believe that they have all the legal precedent on their side. They truly believe that they have all the all the galleries all the all the laws on their side. And they do make a lot of compelling arguments. And now and Bose is you though, as well, as I do, you know, just because you know, there's just because. Something is maybe the right thing to do that doesn't necessarily mean. It's the legal thing to do. And they honestly believe the legal thing to do as it stands is to certify marquess. And then still continue the investigation once the board at once a new board has announced on January thirty first, and then which you'll start in in theory, the entire investigation of this thing or or continue the investigation, I should say. But like, but the NC GOP thoroughly believes that they're going to be the markets will be certified the winner today. And if that happens does the North Carolina democrat party immediately file an appeal because there has been no as NC GOP will tell you that there has been no, you know, filed of appeals or anything like that on the democrat side. They're just like, oh, the North Carolina State board of elections head by this character. Josh will Malcolm who has a very questionable past and tactics in his tree they figure well. Okay. That's what that's what they want to do. That's fine. But no one has technically appealed this race. And so therefore every county has certified this election in the district, and therefore it is a competent upon the states is certified. And like, I said, they honestly believe they will have more care certified today by the court. They believe that. Now, if the judge does seat Harris.

"I'm Scott chime in the midterm elections are not over in North Carolina after allegations of fraud. The Republican was I thought to be the winner now says he'd support the idea of a new election if it's determined fraud did change the outcome joins us now from member station. WFAN Charlotte is reporter Steve Harrison, Steve thanks for being with us. Thank you for having me and both the Republican Mark Harris and the democrat, Dan mccready have weighed in on these allegations. What did they said so McCreevy what I he said on Thursday that Harris has bankrolled criminal activity. That's a reference to a Blaine county political operative who pushed people to vote absentee by mail, and then allegedly illegally harvested their ballots now now when you say harvested that means picking them up opening them, and discarding the ones you don't want. Well, not necessarily a definitely means that he picked them up from voters, which is a legal in North Carolina. You know in this state once you it's your mail ballot. And you're responsible for getting it to the mailbox or the board of elections. So this operative kind of went and collected them. We don't know exactly what he did with him. So McCreadie said there should be a new election. If the state board finds that it's been tainted and then marquess released video on Twitter yesterday. He said he didn't know anything about the alleged wrongdoing. And he said he would be okay with a new election. If the state board finds that any fraud would have changed the outcome. And that's a big difference because McCreevy saying you should vote if it's been tainted which it appears to have been Harris says the result would have to change meaning they would have to establish that what is it more than nine hundred votes were at stake? That's right. So Harris's ahead by nine hundred five and if you take away every absentee by mail vote that Harris received in the two contested counties. He's still ahead by two hundred and fifty nine votes. But can I going back to what you said? The Democrats are saying it's more complicated than that. They say it's possibly is operatives harvest dinner collected people's ballots, and then could have thrown away the ballots weren't favorable to them. We don't know who might have one. Well, what's the latest in the investigation? So the state board said yesterday that the bladen county political operative McRae. Dallas is a person of interest and also says issued subpoenas to the Harris campaign as well as the local sheriff and a political consultant that higher Dallas they had it said exactly what they're looking for. But presumably a big part of the investigation is trying to find people who voted by mail, and then handed their ballots over to someone who knocked on their door, and they're trying to match those people up with people who were the elections boards. Have no record of overseeing those ballots. How strong a possibility that there might be a whole new election. I think there is there has been a lot of talk here about that not officially from the state board. But I think when you have both candidates kind of saying they would be open to it. It's it's really on the table and the state board does have the ability to do this. They can call an election. If by law if improprieties occurred. Such an extent that detained the results of the entire election and casts doubts on its fairness and any idea win a new election might be in the ninth district. So right. We have no idea. And they have said they are mindful that the new congress is supposed to be seated on January third. But I think it's going to be probably very difficult. If they do do an election to get it done that quickly. Another question is what kind of a lecture would you have? Would you redo the entire night district election that covers eight counties, would it be just for the ninth district? Or there's been some talk of do you? Go back to the may Republican primary between Harrison Robert pittenger who was the incumbent. And do you redo that one? Thanks very much. Steve harrison. Thank you lawmakers in Europe have long taken a tougher stance toward regulating, Facebook and other technology giants than US legislators. Well, they did nothing to diminish that reputation. This week the British parliament released a trove of documents. Relating to a US lawsuit involving Facebook. Those documents prompted calls by both British and European officials to strengthen regulation of that social network. We're joined now by Damian college member of parliament and his committee led that wide ranging investigation into Facebook. Mr Collins joins us over Skype. Thanks so much for being with a sure what do you believe the world learned from these documents? There's probably two or three important things. One is I think it gives you an insight into the company, and they do with the data they gather now Facebook say they sell data, but they sent me make money out of it. And I think what are the things that concerned us was whether some of the developers work with Facebook get preferential access to data depending on how valuable that relationship is. I think there was something else which is essentially Nancy trust issue, which is the dominant position Facebook has a lousy it to take winners on his platform. There are big questions about the way which they use that power. The final thing. I think this is all uses giving informed consent. What they give data to Facebook. Mr collins. Why should anyone be worried about that? Is it just what you would expect to business to do maximize the information it has and reward. The most promising relationships that we all understand diesels. The social media tools that free to use. But in some ways, you'll giving you a day. The company the company makes money out of that by selling appetizing. The question is all week giving up far more data than we realize. Then what happens when the company has it and these right that we have some say and some protection of how it's used. Do you feel Facebook has been honest with you now, I think consistent practical behavior with Facebook is that they failed to disclose important relevant information to our enquiries. And we asked them about the way they had white list companies have privileged access to data and information. Now, we've asked about our concerns about the by developers. How to get us it without the knowledge and consent, and we've never felt had fallen straight home, but within this huge public interest in pursuing this. And that's why we publish these documents this week. Mr Collins, both of our countries are very proud of being free societies where freedom of expression is important. How do you put any kind of regulations on social media platform where people exchange ideas without limiting content in a way, we would we would both find against our values. Absolutely. We believe in freedom of speech. We celebrate that. But we understand that in the public square. There are some behaviors that aren't acceptable. And you don't have the right to go into a crowded theater and shout fire. I think things like this information where people are spreading lies maliciously. And with the intensive trying to influence, maybe how people vote in an election. I think we need to take responsibility there too, particularly as deep fate technology will soon make it easily available for people to create fake films of politicians giving speeches have never given the could released during the election campaign, and we need to be able to fight back games. I saw the content. Well, what would you recommend? What we've looked at in Britain is the idea of looking the model we have for regulating, costing Webre is hold licenses. There's an independent regulatory body ABC's those licenses and they get judge in the round they have effective policies in place to make sure that they are producing good quality content. They respond to complaints properly. And if they found not to be upholding the terms that the license then the regulates can take action against them. Mr Collins, we need to ask you this week. You are member of the conservative party. How will you vote on prime minister May's proposal to leave? The I won't be supporting prime minister's proposal when we vote on Tuesday in leaving the European Union. The is that we will take more control of the director of the country. And there are some technical aspects of the deal, which lock us into a trading relationship with the rest of Europe that we'd have no right to break. And that I think seats the rest of the year. And so I won't be supporting today on Tuesday. And I'd like the prime minister to care back to Europe, Damian Collins, chairman of the digital culture media and sport committee of the British house of Commons. Thanks so much for being with us. Thank you..

And you're responsible for getting it to the mailbox or the board of elections. So this operative kind of went and collected them. We don't know exactly what he did with them. So McCreadie said there should be a new election. If the state board finds that it's been tainted and then marquess released a video on Twitter yesterday. He said he didn't know anything about the alleged wrongdoing. And he said he would be okay with a new election. If the state board finds that any fraud would have changed the outcome. And that's a big difference because McCreevy saying you should vote if it's been tainted which it appears to have been Harris says the result would have to change meaning they would have to establish that what is it more than nine hundred votes, which take that's right? So Harris's ahead by nine hundred five and if you take away every absentee by mail vote that Harris received in the two contested counties. He still ahead by two hundred and fifty nine votes. But can I going back to what you said? The Democrats are saying it's more complicated than that. They say, it's possibly is operatives harvested or collected people's ballots, and then could have thrown away the ballots weren't favorable to them. We, you know, we don't know who might have one. Well, what is the latest in the investigation? So the state board said yesterday that the bladen county political operative McRae. Dallas is a person of interest and also says issued subpoenas to the Harris campaign, well as the local sheriff and a political consultant that higher Dallas they had it said exactly what they're looking for. But presumably a big part of the investigation is trying to find people who voted by mail, and then handed their ballots over to someone who knocked on their door, and they're trying to match those people up with people who were the elections boards. Have no record of overseeing those ballots. How strong a possibility is that. There might be a whole new election. I think there is there has been a lotta talk here about that not officially from the state board. But I think what you have both candidates kind of saying they would be open to it. It's it's really on the table and the state board does have the ability to do this. They can call an election. If by law if improprieties occur. Such an extent that detained the results of the entire election and cast doubts on its fairness and any idea when a new election might be in the ninth district. Go back to the may Republican primary between Harrison Robert pittenger, who is the incumbent. We're joined now by Damian Collins member of parliament and his committee led that wide ranging investigation into Facebook. Mr Collins joins us over Skype. Thanks so much for being with us, sir. What do you believe the world learned from these documents? There's two or three important things. One is I think it gives you an insight into the company, and what they do with the data they gather now Facebook say they sell data, but they sent me make money out of it. And I think one of the things that concerned us was whether some of the developers work with Facebook get preferential access to data depending on how valuable that relationship is. I think there was something else which is essentially an anti trust issue, which is the dominant position. Facebook has allows it to take winners on his platform. There are big questions about the way which they use that power. The final thing. I think I think particularly significant all uses giving him full consent when they give data to Facebook. Mr Collins, why should anyone be worried about that is just what you would expect a business to do maximize the information it has and reward. The most promising relationships we all understand these little social media tools that free to use. But in some ways, you'll giving your. The company the company makes money out of that by sending appetizing. The question is all week giving up fumble data than we realized. Then what happens when the company has it, and these right that we have some say, and some protection of house used do you feel Facebook has been honest with you know, I think a consistent pattern of behavior with Facebook is that they failed to disclose important relevant information to our enquiries. And we asked them about the way they had white list companies that have privileged access to data and information. Now, we've asked about our concerns about the develop is how to get us a date without the knowledge and consent, and we've never had fallen straight home, but within this huge public interest in pursuing this. And that's why we publish these documents this week. Mr Collins, both of our countries are very proud of being free societies where freedom of expression is important. How do you put any kind of regulations on social media platform where people exchange ideas without limiting content in a way, we would we would both fine against our values. Absolutely. We believe in freedom of speech. We celebrate that. But we understand that in the public square. There are some behaviors that aren't acceptable. And you don't have the right to go into a crowded sits and shout fire. I think things like disinformation web people spreading lies maliciously. And with the intent of trying to influence, maybe how people vote in an election. I think we need to take responsibility that to particularly as deep fate technology will soon make it easily available for people to create fake films of politicians giving speeches have never given the could be released during the election campaign ability to five buckets content. Well, what would you recommend what we've looked at it? In Britain is the idea of looking the model we have for regulating broadcasting Webre causes. Hold licenses does an independent regulatory body. ABC's those licenses and make it to judge in the round. Do they have affective policies in place to make sure that they are producing good quality content. They respond to complaints properly. And if they found not to be upholding the temps that the license then the regulates it can take action against them. Mr Collins, we need to ask you this week. You are member of the conservative party. How will you vote on prime minister May's proposal to leave? The I won't be supporting prime minister's proposal when we vote on Tuesday in leaving the European Union. We will take more control of the direction of the country, and there are some technical aspects of the deal which locus into a trading relationship with the rest of Europe that we'd have never right to break. And that I think seats the rest of the year. And so I won't be supporting the day on Tuesday. And I'd like the prime minister to get back to Europe, Damian Collins, chairman of the digital culture media and sport committee of the British house of Commons. Thanks so much for being with us. Thank you..

"Now, we turn to an important revelation of alleged election, tampering and North Carolina's ninth district with a twist the apparent fraud, helping the Republican candidate Mark Harris, the state's board of elections voted twice last week to not certify the Electra's alz that's rare because of these allegations of tampering specifically with absentee ballots voters have filed now affidavit about strangers come into their door to do what would be a legal ballot collection in two counties in question. There are much higher than normal percentage of absentee ballots mysteriously that we're never turned in and minority voters in those counties disproportionately impacted Harris leaves democrat, Dan mccready by only nine hundred votes and the claims of fraud may even potentially do a whole new election. We wanted to get you all the details on this. And that we are joined from Ollie North Carolina by Jerry Cohen, a former special counsel for the states general assembly in here with me Mara Gaye, Jerry what happened. Well, there's been allegations of fraud and mail an absentee voting and blatant county in both the may Republican primary and the general election and just in the last half an hour the white county. That's Raleigh district attorney's announce she'd had she's had an active criminal investigation on this since the may primary that news just came out a few minutes ago, it's alleged that perhaps absentee ballot. Applications were fraudulently obtained ballots were taken from voters and destroyed are marked for a certain candidate. There's an unusually high number of black and native American voters in that area who plied for absentee ballots and never return them like sixty percent versus seventeen percent of white voters. Letting people think that perhaps there was an active attempt to steal ballots from democratic voter hadn't returned ruin Guinness. Sometimes breaking news comes right here from the newsroom tonight. Breaking news coming from you. On the ground here saying that the the very thing we're discussing whether people went to people's homes and broke the law is now a matter of a criminal probe. Yes. Lauren frame and the district attorney and white county. That's our capital county on a referral from the district. Attorney for blatant county announced the evening, she's been conducting a criminal investigation into this since the may prime Laura. I mean, I think first of all this is extremely disturbing. And it's good that the results have not been certified this we need to get to the bottom of what actually happened here. I think it's striking though that this is actually historically speaking the kind of voter fraud, if you wanna call it that that we've seen which is actually voter suppression. And so that's what this looks like it may turn out that that's not the case. So let's get the facts and let that lead us where the category here, and this is about potentially suppressing democratic or African American is not individual people dressing up to go vote. It's other people coming to stop the voters that is the history of voter suppression that we have in this country and this tracks with that. And if you think about the way that the Voting Rights Act has been decimated essentially by the supreme court, and by states like North Carolina that have not protected the vote in in counties that would suppress it. This is the result of that. And this is the real problem in the. Country not hordes of Americans who aren't qualified to vote voting. And I think I'm glad we're having this conversation because I actually I highly doubt that this is the only county in the country in which there are irregularities. And I don't want to speculate about how widespread this is. But I would just say that we have we have a history in this country suppressing specifically black voters, and that's the real problem. So let's get to the bottom of it. Right. And that that is a potential crime potentially affects who's in office in North Carolina. It's a place where they've had a lot of marching a lot of grassroots protests on these very issues. So it's important to keep the light shining on it. I want to fit in a break so Margate and Jerry Cohen, thanks to both of you on this issue coming up. "There you have it just a few minutes ago. Dan, McCreevy threw in the towel. He conceded. Mark Harris is on the line with us now. So Mark I understand you had a phone call with McCreevy just before that press conference this afternoon. So I guess you're glad now that you can move on as Victor. Well, we are I was privileged to receive a call from Dan mccready earlier this afternoon, very grateful for the opportunity for us to talk. You know, we acknowledged that we have very different ways of getting where we wanted to go. But he was very gracious and saying that he never questioned devotion and to our country, and and my willingness and desire to serve, and I certainly was very thankful for him expressed that to him, and, you know, and he told me that he appreciated my patients. Is they wanted to just where the race as big as this one to make sure that they had dotted all their is and crossed all their TS to to make sure everything was the numbers were what they were. And before they moved forward and told him I totally understood because I've been on the other side of that not too long ago. And I could certainly appreciate that. So again, he was very gracious, and we had a great conversation. So you go to Washington next week. I believe as a freshman congressman if for some orientation work, that's correct we fly out Monday evening. I think and we're there from Tuesday to Saturday for round one come back or here in Charlotte for the week of thanksgiving. And then we will go back the following Monday evening for the second round of Tuesday to Saturday after thanksgiving for new member orientation, and then the swearing in occurs on January third. And of course, you'll be sworn into the house controlled by Democrats. That is correct. It appears to be the case are you disheartened by that. Well, you know, Mark, I I ran for the US house of representatives to represent the night district in North Carolina. And you know, I certainly would have preferred that we had a Republican majority. But the reality is that whether the Republicans are the majority or the minority, my focus always has been to do my best for the men and women that make up the night district or North Carolina. And that really doesn't change whether I'm in the minority party or the majority party, I've said time and again through this race to you, and to others that I'm seeking to go there to be a voice, not just a vote, but a voice for the night district, and that that doesn't change whether I'm the minority or the majority. What do you think was the determining factor? And why was it so close do you think that the commercials about your old sermon? That called some of your positions about women into question that that ended up causing this to be a really close race. You know, I think that that ad probably cut both ways. And and truthfully I think that ad probably get hurt me with people that maybe didn't have the complete knowledge or understanding or people that couldn't see through the manipulation of that ah pulling a just a phrase out of context. Now, they may have been people that were going to vote against me anyway, and they just chose to to use that as fodder, but you know, that that's just the type of ad that created and some people that may have been on the fence it caused them to be offended, and and I was meeting people at polls and early voting as well as even yesterday that would come to vote that would stop me and say, look, I I just wanna policy is that you had to go through that that something was so taken and twisted as. The approach there. So, you know, I think it cut both ways, right, frankly, the president's visits helped you. I think it did, you know I- throughout the district. No question. There are people that understand that you know, the policies that we have seen put in place the rollback of the regulations, they tax cut. Did he promised the moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem promises made promises kept. And I think that folks really do appreciate the fact that that's more than just a slogan that that really is something that he believes that he is a non politician. He's trying to keep his promises. And I think that helps Mark thanks so much new congressman Mark Harris here on Charlotte at six again democrat, Dan, mccready conceited about forty five minutes ago. So now, Mark Harris is the undisputed winner in the ninth district. Last night was a long night at Harris headquarters. I was the waiting for the returns to come in. And as we mentioned, it was midnight before Mark Harris declared that he was the Victor there were two precincts in Mecklenburg county to where votes were not counted. Until after one AM, so I asked elections director Michael Dickerson, what was up with that. What went wrong, and he said that poll workers actually forgot some of the memory cards from the voting machines, and they left them at two churches where people voted. Yeah. They brought in their stuff they're information. But they didn't really we had to send them back out and trying to get into churches after after midnight is a pretty difficult adventure. So we required that we needed everything. I just I can't bring in their partial stuff they all aware of that. And they just didn't have it. Complete. So we made them go back out. Well, that sounds like kind of a screw up by the poll workers. Did you do? No, no, no. I'm not saying that. I don't know. I don't want to blame any of those folks we get we all get flustered. We all get frustrated especially after they've been there for thirteen hours, fourteen hours unfortunate part was we just couldn't get back in as quick as we like to get back in. And that's why it takes took so long to be able to finally get into each of these stablishment and pull the machine. So that's why it was a late night. They these these voting machines have memory cards under the memory cards are pulled by hand and taken to the main elections office where they are read by another computer and some of those memory cards the poll workers forgot to take with them. And that's why it was a late.

"Are ready to put country over party. I think. We've seen talking with so many folks, Republicans, Democrats and independents people are so tired of the broken partisanship in Washington as it turns out. Dan, McCreevy is new to the Democratic Party. Were you raised a democrat or you some of your family, your Republican have you ever been a Republican? I've been unaffiliated before I've been a democrat before when he told me that I decided to check the records, Dan McCreevy was registered as an unaffiliated voter back in two thousand eleven not sure about his registration before that. He did not register as a democrat until January of two thousand seventeen about the time he decided to run for congress things that you've talked about you almost sound a little Republican-leaning you've talked about securing the border, and you've been very careful not to criticize Donald Trump. I've noticed is that because this is such a conservative district. What do you think of Donald Trump? Look, I'll I'll work with President Trump on on issues that matter for North Carolina. Like infrastructure standing up to to China on trade. Also, hold anyone accountable based on values. Where do you think he has not done a good job? Well, I think Washington is much of a swamp. It's ever been Creedy did not answer the question on where he disagrees with Donald Trump, and he dodges questions about whether he would support democratic efforts to impeach Trump after nine eleven Dan mccready was called to serve his one of his television ads. "There just a couple of notes. Here, usually you, know I am in I. Have one or two critical things. To, say about, the Charlotte disturbers But there. Are a couple of I guess they're contributing columns what I've referenced, down if I give credit to to the gentleman whom credit is due He's a foreigner Charlotte city councilman Kenny Smith wrote a very useful piece the three steps Mark Harris needs to take let, me take two. On this you can tell us what the three, steps, Mark Harris needs to take to beat Dan mccready. In North. Carolina's ninth district this pretty good and then there's. Another column from a guy who gosh I can recall when he. Was behind the microphone interviewing me I call in its former WBZ or Keith Larson he wrote a piece whom to, think for my change on immigration, remember before the break I was telling you what. I went through and how I was one of these kind of Robert Barkley there shall be open borders and then the cold reality Of how our immigration system had been abused. Was I brought home with crystal clarity to me on, nine eleven and then although my district was in north central Arizona I went to the border and I started talking to people who live there. And I understood what we got is a major national security problem national security is border security at any rate in the in the, special opinion piece entitled whom to thank, for my change on immigration Here is the the salient paragraph quoting now what went on what's going on is ugly but simple Donald Trump has taken a Zena phobia advanced academically for years. By. Pundits, like Pat Buchanan and given it velocity velocity by deftly wrapping. It in a make America great again mantra that allows adherents a rallying cry. More acceptable than quote we're scared lease Brown people, taking over And this column For, my, old, pal brother Lawson Concludes if this corruption of the American spirit emboldened many to express their fears. Undercover of the America first facade yet they're true hearts have been clearly seen which has motivated others. To express themselves with equal clarity so it is, with, me If that constitutes a change I have my faith and Donald and. His Mary trumpsters to think Now as a guy who changed his opinion Going the other direction I have no reason to call out the author of that column For some sort of hypocrisy But I never thought I'd see the day when that particular writer would morph into George W Bush Because one of the one of the, incredible disappointments and then they were legion in the two terms of George Walker Bush was this insistence To label those of us who were greatly concerned with border security especially in the wake, of nine eleven Labeling us as restrictions Foam or worse when I confronted Karl rove At a Republican retreat When the president when President Bush had this idea of what, was called social security quote equalization Where this this was going on the Bush administration wanted to figure out. A way to have a Mexicans who came to the United States independently of their immigration status Be able to, get it on social security benefits some sort. Of equalization thing and I went directly to the president I said Mr President please don't. Do that because if you do I've already worked with Virgil Goode and others we have a resolution of disapproval all set to go And we will we. Will get the discharge petition and we will stop this L., let me just say for. Everybody and it was not done in this column but but another another. Trick I'm sorry to say an another, citation of the the open borders folks in addition to to saying that you're you're. Restriction is a racist xenophobic the the other thing they do Is they imply that your faith is less than genuine They cite. Scripture I believe it is in Leviticus welcome the Sojourner. It is in one of the books of the Pentateuch I buy books to welcome the Sojourner And they interpret Sojourner to mean Illegal anybody who shows up in the country But a. Sojourner is, exactly that someone who, is traveling in fact given the desert cultures you could make the argument or at least the interpretation Be kind to the nomad Since, culture is prevalent in fact I saw it with my own eyes in. Kuwait was in Kuwait City what what they do in the. Summertime is the wealthy Kuwaitis now sometimes people go camping or I guess they call it glancing now with all. The creature comforts of home so to do the Kuwaitis they go out to get a taste of what great. Grandpa did as a nomad they set up these, Ted's almost as a, novelty like. Camping out now so much has, the culture changed. Through petrodollars but I digress my point is this For everyone who wants to misinterpret Sojourner and say this absolutely applies to legally aliens and. And because of my faith I see this and, you're wrong let me, point out. What Nehemiah did do you remember, what Nehemiah did. When he returned home Because the people had been. Subject to attack Nehemiah did what he built the wall And so good people can disagree. And yes people can change their minds But in my book it is not some sort of xenophobia wrapped inside sloganeering and it's, just under girded by racism That that whole argument reminds me of a call the came because we have a fair number. Of Irish illegals and there was a reporter who showed up on our doorstep when I. Was in Washington congressman, Hayworth you certainly don't mean the Irish because we have red hair like your mom and freckles And I said ma'am I don't care if someone. Comes from Iceland or India or Ireland if they come to the United States in legally It's wrong and it should be stopped So for everybody who wants to make this all about. Mexicans are all all about Brown people it's. Not just my pal wrote the. Column that's what Karl rove should meet so, you must just start like Brown people their whole lot American citizens who happen to be quote Brown and. They're flocking.
