"Here. I think dan martell calls at chocolate broccoli. Worry given the chocolate rockets. Either broccoli. I gotta ask you about you know one. You have a new book coming out of the ultimate marketing engine. But you've written. Several books are wall street journal seller you know. You are a prolific author when it comes to marketing and business and sales. Why did you decide to write another book. I know writing. A book is a lot of work. I know that it takes a lotta time. What was your goal with writing. This book like he obviously had to have some driving force to force you to write another one. I will tell you that This is my seventh book and when you have fairly successful book sales publishers. Put a lot of pressure on you to write another book. I'll be flat honest. That is part of the driving force. Because i i could ride off into the sunset probably without writing another book however sign the contract for this book. Actually a not really knowing what i was gonna write about and that's another luxury of of having a a track record. Is publishers. Like sure you want to write another book. We don't need proposal but the bad thing about that was. I really didn't go into this with like. I've got the perfect idea. And i signed the contract for this in the first part of march in twenty twenty and some of your listeners. Remember where they were in march of twenty federal a time shortly after the world war in the lockdown. At least where i was. The actual city itself went into lockdown And one of the things that over. So i didn't want to write a book like how to market time of kobe because nobody wanted that book. But there's no question that what. I saw go on informed and colored a lot of what i ended up writing about and what i mean by that is is a lot of clients that by no fault of their own being in the wrong place at the wrong time wrong. Industry really got wiped out in cases but it also saw a number of our clients not just survive. But thrive and the the key characteristic was that in almost all cases they. I won't say they benefited because that sounds so wrong..

"Too. Many people sell the idea that if you just get your video who get your product your service out there and the right person re tweets it. It's going to go gangbusters. you're gonna explode. You're going to crush it. I'm sorry if you're leaving your success up to luck you're asking for trouble right. You're asking for disappointment. Another version of this is like. Hey if you know how to market your content or market your website or market your business with these growth hacking special viral marketing tactics. Then that's all you need to be successful again wrong. And today i'm gonna just plainly tell you how you go viral in business. You cannot grow rapidly or explosive growth. If you don't have something called product market fit this is ruled number one in any business. What is product market fit. This means that you have a product that the market was once they crave they are willing to give their hard earned dollars away to make it happen to get a piece of it. Your product doesn't have to be a saving cure but it has to be something that people really want. It could be entertainment. It could be for pleasure. You could be something just for fun but it doesn't in a way that people are like man. This is great. This is amazing. I've never seen something like this before or nothing has ever done it this way before. I gotta have it. That feeling of i gotta have it. We all have had it as consumers. We've seen something. Like oh i gotta get that like. When the first iphone came out in two thousand seven everybody was like that's incredible. The pension zoom the scrolling. The huge screen was huge back. Then right apple enough to do some sort of viral tactic or some sort of growth hacking to make it happen. They created a product that people craved. So if there's any advice. I can give anybody in. Business is that you need to create this kind of product. That's where your focus should be above anything else whether you have a product or service any kind of his whatever. You're offering your customers if it solves a paint if a fulfils a need to particular marketplace to particular audience your life. Your business is going to be so much easier and you're not gonna have to worry about tactics. You're not have to worry about. How can i get this in an influencers hands and it doesn't have to be something. Totally innovative let me give you an example <hes>. Our advisor at weber. Ninja dan martell. He's also my business coach. Now there's a lot of business coaches out there okay. But i don't want any business coach right. The reason why. I worked with dan mortels because he specializes in sas businesses suffer as a service businesses. He's dedicated his life to helping people with sas businesses. He has the number one sas business youtube channel and to be quite honest. I don't really know any other sas business coach. When i heard about dan he was just the guy. He's the guy you got to go to grow your business. So it's nothing crazy but he nisha down and he specialized and he's not worried about all the different kinds of businesses. He's serving ecommerce or worrying about people that are <hes>. In the services or mom and pop shops he focuses on software companies and therefore when a software company the coach. He's easy to find right and of course his product his services great. His son is great attracts to write clients but the point here is that product market fit. He has a market of a lot of sas companies out there that are looking to move up in their game. They're trying to get better. They don't wanna go to orana mill coach. That really doesn't know the ins and outs of scaling sassus again. Let me give you another example canada. You don't know about canvas. Canada is a graphic design app that anybody can use. Did they invent and graphic design. No of course not had photoshop decades before them but why is canada. A six billion dollar company. Because they're like hey. Photoshop has complicated. A lot of people. Wanna make flyers. They wanna make banners the one crepe powerpoint slides though on the cover are on their facebook page and do them. Photoshop is really hard and complicated. The created an inferior product to adobe photoshop. Right you can do things. The full shop does in canada but the fulfiled a need right people on do some graphic design some quick mockups. They wanna do it. Get in get out. Publish it over. They don't wanna necessarily higher designer and they don't wanna surly wanna learn a complicated software. Product market fit boom. Canada doesn't need to sell anything they don't need to promote anything. The product sells itself. It serves a need. The next thing i would say is that it's not just important. Free to have product market fit but your product has to be good has really be good. You can out market a great product. That's just the truth. Tesla has recently become the most profitable car company in the world. They do zero marketing. They do zero advertising no billboards commercials while other car companies. Spend millions of dollars every month on. Just how could they be the most profitable car company because their product fits the market right. The product is desired. People wanna fast electric car. That looks good. So you can just put aside that you've heard of a viral marketing and influence or marketing election stuff and really just focus on creating a fantastic product that people love that while people that delight them when they use it. They just can't help until the people that's the truth if you don't have a great product you're asking for headaches so what you want to do is focus eighty percent of all your energy in your business on making your product solve a specific pain for your audience really really well find out what your audience hates about the other products in the industry with their annoyed by it and solve those problems in your product. Do it so well that they can't ignore you. Base camp is a project management software. It's a self funded business the do minimal marketing okay. And they're competing against some huge players. Trello asana jira very very well funded companies and yet. They make one hundred million dollars in a our annual recurring revenue. Why because the solve a specific problem. Their product is perfect for an audience. It's built for people that work as synchronised the have remote teams that are businesses like. There's everybody in that. Circle is going to use basecamp. It's a no brainer. Because they solve the problem better than the competition. Don't try to serve everybody. They service specific group and they do it so well the focus on making it simple they focus on making exceptional so the truth of the matter of viral. Marketing is if you want your product to be known and to grow fast and people to talk about it. It's gotta be great and it's gotta solve a specific problem for a specific group of people. Now when i say specific group people on our talking about five people. Obviously the market has a lot of people. So you can take a slice of that market. You don't need millions and millions of users or customers to be a successful company you can have thousands and be amazing and be a market leader in. Your niche is nothing better than creating a business a product. A service that sells itself.

Sharing Your Long Term Strategic Plan With Your Team

"Before we get into details of why you want to share your long term strategic plan plan with your team the benefits of it and had to do it. Let's talk about what a strategic plan is. It's basically a very simple document. This could be five or six pages and I. It's simply a Google Doc. We prefer Google dunk because everybody on our company has a company email and we can easily share here this dock with anybody with a company email and the doc is basically an overview of what our mission our vision is with a company is all about what we do who who our customers are how we actually acquire these customers but then he goes into the details of what we want to accomplish in the next year in the next six three years and in the next ten years and it actually starts with a ten year plan. And I like that because this actually gives you a broader perspective on what you're trying to achieve in the long term a ten year plan a really allows you to see where the company is going what the ambitions is our and also sells your police when they read it. Hey this company is here to stay and actually has a plan for the next ten years that really inculcates a lot of confidence but but even just for you as the leader you understand. Hey this is where we see ourselves in ten years when you have a ten year plan or a- tenure vision you really start to realize wow I gotta think big I think a how M- really going to influence the marketplace and really help our users than the people that we serve serve customers and this plan has detailed numbers like how much revenue you're gonNA make every month will your profitability goals. What's the size of your your company? How many employees? What some of the products or features your products will half what are some milestones or? Maybe there are certain people you're trying to connect with in your business people that are that you would love to have his users or clients who's on that wishlist for your clients. So that's the ten year plan but you're under the same thing for three years as well as the next year two thousand twenty and then you break down that year that you have head into quarterly goals. Quarter one two three and four. What you you're going to achieve in each quarter? What's the focus? What are the outcomes? What are the deadlines so you understand? What the focus is for the next three months? It's a very very clean and straightforward strategic. Plan that looks ahead as far as ten years as well as the next three months onces nears three months shouted Dan Martell. Dan Martell DOT COM our business coach. Who shared this Strategy with us the strategic plan we implemented it And it's thanks to him so now that you have your should planet and by the way it took us a good to full working days to put together there are strategic plan. A lot of discussion a lot of No taking and writing down and really just trying to figure out where we're heading and this is a group exercise anybody who is in upper management. You know we met with me. WHO's the CEO the COO Nicole as well as our CTO Taylor and we really went through the whole document? point-by-point made sure that we were happy with the answers that we knew without a shadow of a doubt. Some clarity to where we're we're going in the next ten years three years year each quarter. Now once we nailed our strategic plan it was time to share with the team and this is the leap. A lot of people. Don't take Jake we decided. Hey why are we just keeping this to ourselves. Let's share with every single person that works on the team to the understand what they're working towards the also so can see how they can contribute towards those goals in whatever role they're in this is incredibly helpful and I'll share some of the things that I learned through sharing drink the strategic plan with the team. So how do we do this. Well we do an all hands meeting this meeting with every single employee every single month and it's a video call because we're a remote team team and there's people around the world that work for us so we wanted to make sure that we address this strategic plan in that meeting so we dedicate about twenty minutes into the meeting. We went through the document. Would you go into super detail. But we went through enough for them to understand the highlights but then after the meeting we said we're GONNA share this document with everybody was shared in the Google doc and we said Hey. Do you have any questions. Please let us know. Want you to take your time and read this in detail but we went over the highlights at the meeting itself. We didn't get a big agree action or a lot of feedback. I think we'll just kind of absorbing what they heard but afterwards I got a lot of private messages and on meetings or on calls got a lot of great positive feedback from the team saying hey I really found that useful. I now understand why we're doing what we're doing. I understand our wise accompany more of the things I was really surprised by how inspiring it was inspired. Wow this is where we're going in ten years is what we're going to do with somebody's GonNa look like this is incredible. I WANNA be part of it. It also instills confidence in your team. Like hey this team. This management team has it together. You could be doing this. And if you don't share they don't no no it. They don't know what you do behind the scenes but when you share they're like Oh wow. The Siem actually has a plan for us and that management really has our backs and sharing sharing what they've decided with us so that were in the know so it gives them confidence in management in you but most of all what this does by sharing your your strategic plan with your team it gives them the blueprint of how to win the understand. What winning looks like this is what winning? Looks like at my Mike Company and this company. If you feel like you're winning these are the things that we have to accomplish. Managing you're playing a sport but you didn't know how to score your know what would get you points on the scoreboard. That'd be incredibly frustrating. And that's how things are in a lot of companies people show up to work. The do the tests are told but they're not really sure if they're doing well or not with a strategic plan could say. Hey you know what I'm doing things towards the plan towards the goals we have in the near future and in the long term future now even though we shared this this strategic plan. This is not the end. It's GonNa take more iterating more time more discussion. We're going to have to refer back to it in our next all hands meeting we're GONNA have to talk about it in our retreats people need reminders and we all need to be reminded of what the prizes what we're trying to work towards so this has got to be something that it's not just shared once and just forgot about has referred back to it's got to be like the scoreboard. Look at the score. How we doing have we hit our goals for the quarter

How Do You Deal With Cold Email Pitches?

"How do you deal with cold email pitches now. These are people you've never heard of people that you haven't built a relationship ship with having met them at a conference in our friend. They're just pitching you. The guy your email somehow through the interwebs on something they want okay. That's the bottom they want something. That's why they're emailing emailing you. The guest posts they want to invest. They want to be a partner. They want to be an affiliate. No problem with cold emails is that there's a lot of reading to do. There's a lot of filtering to decision making to do and at the star I used to read every single email. I used to reply personally. I should go back and forth. It's not the first replies the problem. It's the constant Johnson replying back in that thread even when you politely say I'm sorry not right now. It's not a good fit they'll go back and insist and it's just back and forth when out continue to reply which will fuel that conversation again and it was endless and I was wasting so much of my day dealing with cold emails because I wanted to be a good good person and I wanted to be polite and I thought this was the only way I'm here to tell you. It's not the only way and if you want to solve this once and for all this is what you have to do you have to hire out for it and it's not that hard. You actually need to hire an executive assistant. You've been a part time one. Somebody who's going to spend ten twenty hours a week on this task and maybe some others that you want to get off your plate and depending on where you hire them from in custody as low as four hundred to eight hundred thousand dollars a month so also worth it now even if you hire part time just to take care of this. This will be a game changer for you. You'RE GONNA gain back so much time find out. How much of your time is worth. If you're going to hire somebody part time for four hundred dollars a month and you're spending ten hours a week on cold. Emails is your time worth more than ten dollars an hour. I sure hope so so then make the investment now. What is this executive assistant. What does this virtual assistant going to do. They're going to create a standard operating procedure for each type of email each type of cold outreach if they're trying to be a guest on your show your podcast then they're going to have a procedure for that. They're going to create one for you. They're going to create a form that this person would have to fill in order to even qualify to be on the show that alone is going to lead a whole bunch of people people and if you want an example of that form checkout one zero zero. Mba Dot net slash apply to teach. That's our form forget teachers and you could see what we require. You're now hiring out for this is going to save you a lot of headaches one because you're going to somebody who's got a document procedures for everything. Somebody's reaching out to guest posts. Somebody's reaching enough for your time for a coffee investors whatever it is they're going to create the procedure and they're gonNA do for you. They're going to reach out say hey. I'm so and so I. Mo Mars Assistant If you're interested in guest posting the first step is to fill out this form. This gives us an idea if we can accept her ghostbuster not or if you don't don't accept guest posts they can just say hey almost assistant at this time. We're not accepting guest posts. Thanks for your interest and you don't even touch it now. What does this mean this means. You have to give access to your inbox your assistant. If you don't WanNa give impersonal access your personal inbox. That's totally fine. You can create a different inbox and make sure all increase get sent to their meaning that we're you have your contact link at the bottom of your website that that links up to the email. Oh you're giving the assistant worst case scenario. If things get mixed up you can always forward the email inbox that they have access to whether it's contact at Your Business Dot Com or support at Your Business Dot Com. The point here is you should not be wasting time with this you need to do brings is in the revenue for Your Business. This is Dan Martell calls ten dollars tests which is broken down worth ten dollars. An hour is ten dollars asks. You should be working on one thousand ten thousand dollar tasks the things that bring in the big bucks hiring the right people so they can improve your product and improve your marketing and all that stuff so hiring out is the best solution in two dealing with cold emails. Let them filter it out. If the person that's reaching out has something of value that is in the line with of your values what you need your assistant filter that out for you presented to you. Hey we have three people there. They're offering this. They can give you a nice summary on a call nice and easy and and yet. I'm happy to speak to that person for ten minutes on a video call. That's worth ten minutes of my time that person no just get back to politely say not at this moment so so much simpler so much easier and you could focus on making your business better and not these adleman tasks. I wish I can give you some sort of tool or automation. Russian or some sort of software that can take care of this but this is the best way to deal with this professionally and personally with an assistant is going to cost you nothing in compared to what what you're gonNA save and time and effort and headaches don't do what I did at the star where I answered every single email myself. I thought I had to know you. Don't you're assistant. Anybody on your team is an extension of you. They are getting somebody who is going to handle their inquiry. You're not ignoring them. If they're a good fit you will speak to them

"Two steps from Emily arena. E first period and really the last regular season game. You you kind of expected maybe this type of effort from both teams. I know Boston has a two goal lead. But certainly not the same intensity where he used to sing between these teams, not even close, you know. And again, we expected when these two teams met a couple of weeks ago at Amway arena. It was a little more physical more intense at that point than I thought it would be but with this game being what it is. Both teams are locked in. You know, the Bruins arresting version on a Marsh and the lighting arresting Brayden point and set your podcast and Mekelle Sergei chef who I guess is a little under the weather. But you know, this is exactly what you're going to get. It's you know, I heard this term yesterday. And I am gonna use it here. So union game just pay everybody, go out and just take care of yourselves. And you know, let's go play. It's it's probably about as close to pond hockey or a shinni hockey as they say in the olden days that you're going to see at the NHL level because a game just has there's no emotion into it. I mean, even the crowd, you know, you don't even here. Much out of the crowd either. Just there's no emotion in the game. And this is kind of what you're gonna get good. Is he dander already back on the ice though? Very encouraging signed to see him back. We weren't sure as recently as just a couple of weeks ago, whether he was even going to be available for the star of the playoffs. So to see him back today and getting in some action. I think it's important to be able for him to get into the lineup after so much time off to at least get a feel for the game again before you know, the playoffs starts and whether he's in the lineup on Wednesday or not remains to be seen. But the fact that is getting a game is very encouraging for Tampa Bay with you know, they've been very lucky on the back end with with injuries for the most part. So for him to be back there. It's a very encouraging sign for sure it's big games though. Freddie squalene Dan Martell right opportunities to play for Squatty his third career NHL start well in particular because he's this is ninth game this year. He's been up with the team the entire season. I know there's a big difference for player, you know, in terms of their salary at the NHL level. Versus the age level. But you know, players wanna play and for him to been out of the lineup for as much as he has. It's his first game since what mid February today. So I think it's important for him to get into a game. We'll see what what what it means for pass quality. Look if you have to play Eddie pass quality in the playoffs, you have some issues, but for Martell, you never know if you're gonna have to call on him. So for him. I think it's more important for him to get into a game and kind of get a feel for it once again because I think he is a guy who can bring some energy some speed, and he's a little bit of a spark plug out there. Yeah. For sure no doubt about that. When we talked to you in our second intermission report. We'll talk about the playoff implications. Coming up tonight and a few other things as well. We appreciate about. We'll talk to you soon. Okay. Thanks, greg. Eric Rawlinson joining us there. We'll take a look at the first division scores. One return on lending radio..

"I think fans the lightning players aren't. At the scoreboard. Yeah. The games of of note tonight. In addition to this on you've got Montreal at Washington and New Jersey Carolina. Columbus does not play tonight. The blue dot gets play tomorrow and Saturday and the other game of kind of on a peripheral basis of notice Pittsburghers hosting Katori. The penguins have the most direct path to get into the playoffs. They just need a win in one of their last two games. But macho Carolina right in the bulk of it in Columbus there to the blue Doug, it, certainly will be scoreboard watching and. Yeah, I don't know that we're going to get a definitive answer after tonight. But we may get more of a clue about how the last few days are going to unfold. Let's get tonight's scratches injuries for the lightning. Victor Hedman dandruff. Louis demeaning are all injured although being Girardi both skated today. JT Miller gets the night off. It's why pal at slots in Dan, Martell hammer and gone to the other scratches. Couple Leafs are out one due to illness. Mike Babcock was big about the other. He didn't specify who sick. And who isn't but it's buzzing and nauseam cadre. They're both out there. Third goalie is Joseph wall. The other scratches are healthy Potanin barred Miranshah ego. She got up and Justin hall, the top two goalies. In terms of wins. Anderson's tied for second are going to be dueling tonight. Andrei vasilevskiy is thirty eight ten and four eighty two point four two goals against the point ninety five. Save percentage. Anderson is thirty six fifteen at six a two point seven five goals against and a point nine one eight percent fast. Let's get lightning to our left in the first skate left to right and their road white jerseys with blue numbers. Anderson leaves dependent to all right and go right to left in the first and there. "Seventy WFL a. Thanks there to Eric Francis. Again, from sports nets who gave us a thought a pretty detailed explanation of what to expect from the flames. They're a team as I said before earlier lighting powerplay, which you can check out weekdays from six to seven on most nights. Carries a lot like Tampa Bay. A lot of high end skill. Goaltending has been excellent. I think the difference there. Tampa Bay has more -ccomplish players for sure. I mean, I don't think anybody's going to confuse David ridicules their goaltender and who's twenty four and five on the season with Andrei vasilevskiy drive, asking my opinion. You've heard me say this over and over again, I think is the best goaltender in the game. And you take a look at the saves. He makes every single game. You're talking about three or four highlight reel saves the thing about it is I made the point yesterday on the show. It's not like Tampa Bay is playing like the New Jersey Devils back in the mid nineties were you're only getting twenty twenty two shots. Every game on the gold center. It just Tampa Bay gives up their fair share of scoring opportunities and on most occasions Vassilev ski and Louis domain have been incredible. And I think that's why we tend to give vast Levski more props than maybe even his statistics show, which are really good. But again, it's not like he's playing in front of the New Jersey Devils of the mid nineties were shocked were hard to come by. But these teams in some ways are very similar, but I think Tampa Bay is better at their positions then Cowdery, but we're gonna find out in about an hour. If that's claim holds up, but it should be a lot of fun. No doubt. Now, if you're just joining us. We had Brian burns on in our second segment tonight. Eric we'll be out he's day to day with lower body injury. Don't expect it to be long term. I think John Cooper is is looking at this. Hopefully, he's back in the next couple of games. We'll see yon Ruta has been recalled from Syracuse. He's played in Twenty-three NHL games this year with Chicago member he was traded for Slater Kuku Kuku. Chicago roots comes back a right handed defenseman. I think he'll be wearing if he does by which I don't think he will number forty four. Polat looks like he's still out. Matthew Joseph reassigned to Syracuse? But that's more of a paper transaction Ryan Callahan. Dan Martell both in the lineup. Tonight's Gary asks, do you think Mark Sal should be put on the line with faster players instead of the fourth line? Gary my response to that would be who you gonna play with. Who you gonna take off to promote Martell look as much as I like, Dan Martell and as much as I like the potential there. He's played in how many games, you're not gonna bump. Somebody off the first second or third lines to get Martel reps. Now, look John Cooper throughout the game. If he feels like his team's a little sluggish then you could see him switching things up for sure. I don't think Martell comes to mind, though, when that happens, I think he's going to get in and he's gonna play seven to ten minutes. And let's see how well he does. But let's not over think that one I think Mark hell. The plane Eric Rowlinson, it's made this point. I I think it's a brilliant point. I think it's a great point. You're not necessarily evaluating Martell on how well he does this year. Although you want him to get his feet wet playing at the NHL level really his first extensive time playing with NHL team. It's good to be maybe what he does next year because don't forget next year. You're going to have some decisions to make when it comes to the cap. You just are. I mean, we all know that you're going to have to sign. Radim points to a decent sized contract. And it can be anywhere from seven to nine million dollars a year. That's my opinion. But when you take a look at restricted free agents out there and the impact point has on a team. I think he's you've heard me say this before I think he's their best to way forward on the squat. What does that cost? It's going to cost something. But because of that in the off season you've got to think Tampa Bay is going to be pretty active in trying to be capped compliant. And so you need some cheaper options to fill in particularly on the bottom six if you decide to move on from guys, and I think Martell was held on and brought in specifically not only this year. But possibly what he could do in the next year or two because of his talent and because of his salary, which is pretty cheap. So just keep that in mind when you're taking a look at a player like that. But getting an opportunity to play that's the Leschi. We'll be in nets. And this has an opportunity to be a really fun game. And let's see if Tampa Bay can win their third in a row, right? Thanks everybody involved to help with this broadcast. Thanks to C versus on location. Thanks to Reggie Davis. Back in our network studios. Always appreciate his help. We've got the game. That is coming up next. We'll talk to Dave Mishkin. We'll talk to Phyllis Zito Eric Carlson. Brayden points you hear a bunch of sound coming up, and I'll make sure we get you set for the game. And it'll be a lot of fun. Thanks there Francis. "But again, he's missed the last couple of games healthy scratch. I'm sure he's going to be ready to go tonight, isn't it? Yeah. Know, it's catch twenty two when that happens you come back and is your former team, and he was a captain here. And of course, he's got a tremendous amount of history, and he has been out of the lineup for a couple of games. I think that's probably content going to continue to happen on and off as the season goes along here. But you know for Ryan sometimes even though he's got experience. You gotta be careful not to come out and try to save the world every shift which is your natural inclination, especially when you come back and play against your former team. So it'll be interesting to to watch them here. And the team will be glad to have a back tonight. Dave. The Rangers are an interesting team there, you can make a case retooling rebuilding and they're doing it the right way, but they're playing well of late their first line is playing very well. And they have some confidence coming into tonight's game. While they won four their last five. And if we were to break it down at the most simple level their top line is his carried them they have been dominant during this five game stretch. The one loss was one nothing against the flyers. And we just heard Dan Rosenthal me about that game. With Rangers actually outplayed the flyers but zuccarello didn't play in that game. So the last four games in which those three guys have been. In the lineup playing as the line. They've combined for. Eleven goals in twenty five points, and they single handedly health. The Rangers beat the devils the other night zuccarello and a hat trick. I'm sorry, savannah jet had a hat trick and four points zuccarello has a nine points during the last couple of games in terms of in terms of his point production. So they are really doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the Rangers. So it's gonna be imperative that the lightning pay very close attention to that line and try and limit their dangerous opportunities is like teams talk about the lightning. Here we need to limit. This lines dangerous opportunity. You know, who they're going to see a lot of the NATs. Mcdonagh insuring actor, the shutdown payer, and certainly they won't hesitate to have headman out there long. But you're already, but the main shut down Perez going to see those guys lots Abouna judge sniper a sniper center. He's got some great hands zuccarello is more of the playmaker. He's really crafty and Crowder's the classic power forward. Just a bull. Fantastic. Speed. Great skill. Enhance y'all think he's going to score more than he does. But obviously these three guys have chemistry, and when your top heavy like that your focus, obviously has to be focused on these guys. Make sure they don't kill us. Make somebody else beat us. If that's the way it's going to be and they've done some work on the power play to help their point totals the Rangers during the stretch of five games have gone six for thirteen on the power of you heard Greg and Eric talking about the Lennox penalty. Kill it, very well may be testified against the unit. It's dealing particularly those guys who are on an offensive role right now. All right. Let's get to tonight scratches injuries. And unfortunately, Brayden point is day to day with the lower body injury also out tonight and the kill circuit, Jeff and Dan Martell bread. Hot in the former lightning draft pick and prospect has a knee injury. He is out as is Frederick clayson. Tony DeAngelis being a former lightning players formulating draft. Picks is also going to be a scratch tonight a healthy scratch. Louis demand gets his first start since January the twelfth that was a win in buffalo for the lightning. "A play Toronto. Of course, there's a huge gap between these two teams. It's very interesting doesn't matter. It's it's going to be a good game. No doubt. But I think they got the Lightning's attention. The first time these two teams played in that I played well lately played really well. But luck Toronto I take real good team. Lebron into a little bit of a. Five and five hundred lives. And I don't know how the lighten gonna keep maintaining this based sooner or later, they're going to run into this fifty fifty thing. It's going to happen. A dozen. Well. John Cooper was asked about well. Do you need adversity in the regular season? He said why I'd rather win. We face in game adversity where we're down by a couple of to find a way to reverse the narrative and change kind of momentum. We've been successful in a lot of the games in which that has happened this year. So he'll be happy to keep taking wins and points up. So the result of this game based on the gap. The result of this game isn't as important for the lightning as it is for the Maple Leafs Sioux lookout Toronto. I mean, they're only four points up on buffalo, which is currently in nine. Now, they have games in hand the through online the teams they have a little bit of wiggle room. Not as much as they had a couple of weeks ago, though, having said all that I think for the lightning. They wanna have a better game than they did. They don't want to have to rely on vassal. Asking me. Forty eight saves amazing in that game. The thing is too. The lightning MO the last three games. Anyway that I'd want a play. Maybe thirty four thirty five minutes. Really, well and get thirty minutes, not twenty four twenty five minutes. Not so well that ain't gonna to get to the big time in the playoffs. It's not gonna be a little bit more consistent. And I I I don't know. I can't explain people asked me. Did you guys do that for new place? I have no idea. I don't remember ever being so up and down in a game. I remember having a whole game when you're not up and you're not playing well, but play well one period, my terrible think too and this discussion for another day, but your era certainly the eighties era is starting to go away in the nineties where. The parody between the teams as much narrower like, Bobby. I mean, you could go out on the ice. And they had nobody like Bob your. You know, you could on talent alone. Teams more. So than today where every team has elite players, and they do the margin between the teams maybe isn't as far. I don't know if you agree with that. I completely agree with parody and his team is very very that's why to see that the lightning only have nine losses. So far seventeen is remarkable gap. When you're really remarkable. I just don't want people who get so spoiled that when we go on a little bit of a. If we do gone, you know what I mean settled out. Greg. And I address this on his show earlier in the week. Remember last year, the lightning second half was was good. But it wasn't as phenomenal as their first half. Having said all that once the playoffs began. They got dialed in in a hurry. Yeah. They were very good. In those first two rounds? They were the devils and Bruins all right quickly, the scratches and injuries no injured players lightning. It's Coburn's turned to sit out. Likewise, mac. Matthew joseph? Dan Martell is the other healthy scratch Tyler and is injured for Toronto also out just in the hall and Martin Marin defenseman for Toronto vast lousy gets the start. He is nineteen five and two on the year. A two point four six goals against any point ninety five. Save percentage. Frederik Anderson who's back after missing eight games due to injury is second game back twenty ten and one on the year a two point five four goals against any point nine to two save percentage. Bass loves the lightning dependent to our left and the first gate left to right in their home blues. White number. Anderson the least defendant to all right in the first they'll go right to left in the road wife with blue eyes opening face off next on lightning radio..

"Back. I would check the glove compartment for hard boiled eggs that some of the things that his former teammates may sabotages car was a little bit. Then you don't want to find out a week later believe. Yeah. Perhaps some thought out fish or chitlins. Yeah. Underneath the bumper. Perhaps somebody did that in college at one point in time not to name names, Matt salmon, but anyways. By the way, if you if you squint a little bit and not just what danika looks like in the flesh. But also on the ice for those of us who've been following the team for a long time reminds you a little bit of Eric Perrin in the oh three oh four season. Very similar skill set size personality, and the fact that he's been told her, right? Find an apartment kind of settled down. Here tells you that regardless of how many games he plays for the team. He's going to be part of the plan at least for this season. And you know, Eric Perrin played a very important role. As a a pinch hitter thirteenth forward in that Cup urine for several seasons afterward, Dan again a lot of speed. And you know, and so that fourth time when they want to get down to four check and spent some time in the offensive zone and get under the opposing team's defencemen skin and hits you, you know, even though he's not very big. He's he's not afraid to hit. So it it really with him in with. He and Joseph would study Paquet that was fast for blind. And I was. I was gonna say I don't think it's a coincidence. When the game was one nothing Carolina about midway through the third period. This is before the power play that led to Andre plots goal that fourth line was put out there, not just energy. But for physicality, of course, we saw the headset and the rough stuff amping up in the second period tonight. But you saw SETI podcast and Matthew Joseph and Dan Martell throwing their weight around. And it's it's not a coincidence that Carolina had to back off just a little bit or get a little.

"We'll talk about that number of choice in a moment. Dan Martell joining us here. Kish drill. Danecki of had a very interesting season. We'll get into the details of that. But this was a very interesting game tonight. We were just talking off the air how boy that one could have gone either way Carolina. They're feeling going into this game winners of five straight and six of their last date. It was tough. But how did you guys find a way to pick up another two points? I think they're does adjusting to be they bring everything to the net day got a lot of speed. But at the end of the day we stick with it. And in the third period, we play in our system, we skated and we got the game at the end. So that that was good. After the first period it looked lopsided just because of the shots on goal now day take a lot of shots from everywhere. So it showed, but it's unusual for you guys only have three shots at the end of the first what did you guys talk about? What was the feeling like after the first period in the locker room? I think we didn't play with emotion in the first period. That's why maybe we got only three shots. We didn't have any. It's really when we started to play our role in just speed bring everything to the bring some heads going into four check. Now, we're we're in the exciting team to watch. And we did it in the second and the third, and that's why we came up with a win. You were talking about a lack of the motion and in hits and everything is that just part of just an eighty two game season. I mean, we're at the halfway point here. And just sometimes you're just gonna have those nights were just takes a little bit to get that second gear. I mean, it's at the same time. It's it's a job too. So you go out to your job in the morning. You're not gonna always have a good day today in the first period with the puck was bouncing everywhere. We just had to stick with it. And just keep keep working hard and keep trying and at the end the result might not be on your side. But tonight, it was it was so it's good for us. It's been an interesting season for you to you acquired from Philadelphia. And then you come here. And I'm sure you don't quite know. What's going to happen? Right. Are you staying going to be in the American League? What's going to happen? How much ice time? You're gonna get what line, and you're gonna be on all these things have been going through your head. And then at the same time away from the ring you been pretty much in hotels twenty four seven avenue since you've been here. Yeah. Yeah. Since october. When I came here on the road at home. "Neutral zone. Faceoff still a quick pace here. Phil. Yeah. Very quick. Both teams. I can tell you this Columbus, really, really careful. They don't wanna take any penalties. Talking to some of the people that said for the late powerplays, just unbelievable. And in the first meeting the lightning went four for seven on the power play that eight to win here. And there you notice there hasn't been a lot of hasn't been. It's just been flowing the game. Do blind point Pinera and reunited with his usual linemates, at least on this particular shift point wins the draw Strommen for Johnson deflects it Ryan Murray. Trying to clear it pass hit kucherov stays in the Columbus end of Davar behind the net. A nudge from Murray does a nice job to get it away from kucherov also get himself away from kucherov. They'll spend for Pinera at center ice who deflects it in. Here's peer looked wildlife corner. Trying to center it blocking it point. But Pinero and follows up circle to the right point to Vara shot right on made basketball Ascii Tyler Johnson, flips it out to kucherov at center off his stick three taken by Murray up the middle du bois cross the bull. But following up his Wynberg to clear it for Columbus. Back to the lightning in under five minutes left in a scoreless. First dander already admitted. Feed stamp goes was it satirized curls back to his own end goes back to Girardi. Oh, I never changing DJ already Steve plate circuits have alertly jumped on the bench. So it wasn't too many men. "Weighty come out too. So I thought that was really good. I was happy to see that. Lighting and blue jackets getting set here just a little bit. The other thing too is Alex was asked us today. How do you forget that loss, Phil? And he basically said you come out and win the night. When you play two games. Okay. You're not gonna win them. All. You know that nobody's ever done it in the history of the game ever. So, you know, you're going to lose a few there still single digit losses. No other team in the league has single digit losses. Only the light. And forget about it. You take anything positive in that game that you can take your mind going into this game that you take the negative. You'll let it go. And I think that's why this team is successful. They have a great ability to do that. We really do. The other thing that we shouldn't lose sight of is the fact that a lot of their heavy lifting on the road is now behind them. I know that they sell a half of the season on the road. It is completely even they played twenty one at home at twenty one of the road. But they only leave the time zone twice, and that's the central and I think the longest road trip lead was the one right at the end of the year. That's four games. All the rest are are three two or one which are very on a shorter period of time. John Cooper, even said, the California trip was three games. They were out away from home for a week to play those three before that trip. There are ways this was a tough scratch through seven out of nine on the road. They went seven one and one game. So now, you kind of turn the page and you move forward kind of into half number two right now. But I think that they they chopped down a pretty big stretch of the difficult part of their schedule. Understanding the gains are going to get tighter and the schedule to get easier. That's not what I'm saying. But they don't have to travel to Edmonton. They don't have to go to San Jose again except for the stars. So I think that's a good side theory able to get through that and maintain like to set single digit regulation losses. Let's get to tonight scratches injuries. JT Miller is on the man been won't play tonight. It's Eric churn. Axe turn to sit out. He was due to sit out the San Jose game. But Coburn was banged up. So Cohen sat out that game covert back in tonight. Turn out Ryan Callahan is day to day with an upper body injury. So Dan Martell slots back into the lineup playing his fifth game this year. Nick Pollino is a ways daughter had surgery gonna miss his fifth game tending to his child. Lucas said lack of Scott Harrington who's been sick are the other scratches bass Leschi the start named the all star team earlier today with the injury to Carey price. Bassey is sixteen four and two a two point six six goals against to the point nine zero save percentage and Sergei tchaykovsky is eighteen twelve and one a two point eight.
