"History as football fans said goodbye to former commanders owner Dan Snyder. Bye Dan. We are done with you. Get out of our city and leave our football team alone. We never want to see you again. And they said hello to new team owner Josh Harris. Many never thought that we'd experience a week like this and joining us live for more is WTOP reporter Steve Fresno and Steve, you go way back to the days of Jack Kent Cook and all that, but you were there when Snyder took over as well. Did you ever think we might see this come this week or did it really seem like it was not gonna happen? It such was a surreal feeling walking into FedEx field yesterday, Kyle, because I do back in 1999. I was working for the late George Michael. It was George, myself, Sonny Jergensen. We were on the football field in Frostburg. Dan Land, the helicopter, and coming in. And no, I never thought we would get to the moment from yesterday when Josh was introduced along with the entire ownership group, but it was such a surreal feeling in the sense that we're finally moving forward. I'm sure the whole football community here in the and DMV fans would agree with me. We can finally take that next step. Yesterday had come, the transaction was complete, and I will tell you this. I'm looking around the room before the press conference and it's all smiles and a palpable feeling that that positive feeling just you could tell surrounded the room. Yeah, give us a little more of that feeling. I know you were covering that press conference. You've been talking to former players and lots of people connected to the team. What are they saying about Josh Harris? Would you say that it just seems like to buy in on a new era? Well, you know, we got in early and I'm walking around and you see all the seats being labeled with names on there like Joe Gibbs and Magic Johnson and Josh Harris's family and you know Kyle, the key word in the room also from the outset was integrity And in Josh Harris's speech, you know being from Chevy Chase growing up. His mother who lives in Montgomery County, but the feeling in the room was you know This group gets it. Josh Harris gets it. He's bringing that integrity. He's He bring it he knows how to bring that new culture now into the DMV and back to a very prestigious football team and as we all know, that integrity in positive culture hasn't been around for 24 years. So you could feel in it the room and just the people I've talked to that this group really knows how to bring it to the table. Alright, that's WTOP Steve Dresner giving us the inside scoop of what that was like Like yesterday to see the commander sale go down live out there at FedEx Field. It's now Let's get a quick look at the top stories we're working on at WTOP. All fired up and it's been a long time coming. And as we told you, the commander sale is official. We'll hear some fans and the new owner a little bit later. "Let a lot of companies will not let their employees their executives talk to anyone else about somebody else's recommendation. So I realize what executive firms do is a little more nefarious than being open about it, but if somebody calls me and let's say I worked with my Randy, they say, well, is there anything about Randy that discourage us from hiring him? I might know some things, but I may not be willing to tell him because then I expose myself. Do you really know if you're talking to somebody on a phone, whether they're going to hold what you tell them in confidence? Would you? And so yeah, so it's easy to criticize southern Cal. But it's also difficult. I mean, there are some things people know about. But this guy is accused of belittling people of making anybody who's ever worked for a big corporation and has had to take the compliance, has been through this. I mean, you can not say anything to anyone. For the most part. And that's a good rule. But things have evolved. But what's really interesting here is we're not talking about someone who was hired in the 60s or 70s when the standards were looser. Than they are today. We're talking about a reasonably young guy. I think he's in his 50s. So his behavior would be would not have been tolerated, but on the other hand, look at what we are now learning about a lot of people. In the world, important people, influential people. So even though I was with Stuart a few minutes ago, being self righteous about how could they possibly have missed it, as we've had this conversation, I can understand it. Because I don't know whether I would be willing to share something with someone, we're not talking about a Supreme Court Justice here, are we? I mean, we're talking about an athletic director. Maybe that was a bad example. Anyway, we'll take a short break. Mor to come, more of your phone calls right after this. Yeah, we are back here on a Monday taking your phone calls here during this hour, phone number is 855-242-7285. Let's check in with Richard in Birmingham. Hello Richard. Hey, it's rich. Hey, cook. I didn't want to talk about curvy sparks. That's the greatest football coach right now. I get to them hand down. You know, you know that in terms of game they play together bell. I've been one of those two type receivers 'cause I've been with a beat in about two 10,000. We're talking about this. Are you sure about that? Hey, sure, but you know what? I just wanted to make it. I just wanted to make sure you didn't know for sure, but now that I think it would have had an impact, I mean, it was a tight game until the end, Alabama had a chance to tie it on the final possession until the pick 6. Yeah, but you know what? And the FCC championship game. Jordan had no answer for our top two receipts. We can do what we want to. Yeah, I agree, but I would also argue that that game is overdone, but for the simple reason that Georgia really had nothing to prove. I mean, I know what some would argue where they wanted to be in Alabama. That's true. But they were, they just simply were out of sorts because they had already had a perfect season and they were going to the playoffs and they did not, they were not mentally sharp. Okay, hey, I appreciate the call because I wrote that. We'll be back. Okay. Yeah, what I'm not sure matters, though, is this. Why does it matter on was it may 22nd? 2022, what happened in a game in January. 2023, I should say, what happened in a game in January of 2022? Alabama had a chance to get back and play Georgia last year. They didn't. It didn't happen. Damon is up next. Damon, you are on the air. Good afternoon. How are you doing, sir? Okay, thank you for the call. I just got a couple of questions. That was outside of the SEC. I was scrolling through channels and seeing on there and calling all the way from Oregon. I just want to know your thoughts on a preseason top ten outside of the SEC and what your thoughts are on Dan landing on what he's bringing to Oregon as well as both next coming back in the SEC transfers that we got going to Oregon. Damon, I think, is definitely a team that has a shot at making the playoffs. I think Bo is got so much experience and he's played so well. And I think he has found the right mix with Dan lanning, who happened to think is one of the brightest coaches out there. They had a couple of mishaps last year, but ultimately, I think that program is maybe not in the top four. It's a preseason, but not far away. I think Penn states and other program that's interesting to watch, so many skill position players, Ohio State to me is on the same level as Georgia. And who is the outlier? Is it Texas? I don't think so. Is it Oklahoma bounce back? Maybe. Is there someone? Is there someone we're just not paying enough attention to? Who would you put in there but other than Oregon? I would say Washington or USC yeah, USC is definitely going to be the high flying team because of Caleb Williams and a lot of other fat. Hey, that's a good suggestion though. Hey, thank you. We are knocking on the door of the season and we'll get into that as we roll on. How about Mark and Huntsville, Alabama, Mark? Hey, Paul, thanks for taking my call. It's always good to talk with you. Thank you. Hey, just a quick history lesson on Kevin Steele.

"They have no defensive lineman right now. They have no quarterbacks other than to door Sanders who look pretty good. The on sun, but what happens if he gets hurt? They don't have any wide receivers. These are things that Deion Sanders says he's going to address and we'll see how he does. But I just think the depth piece, that's the big difference. You always hear going from FCS to FBS, especially power 5, what happens if there's injuries, there's just so many new bodies that are going to be in that program that we still don't know yet. Deion Sanders says, wait, and just wait, you're going to be impressed. And I know they picked up a defensive end from Florida state today was starting experience. There's a lot of rumblings around Alton mccaskill from Houston, the running back who's so much surprisingly entered the portal earlier today that he'll end up as a Colorado buffalo. So I'm willing to wait and see, but man, that's a lot of players to have to replace in one off season. Adam, before you go, I know a couple of days ago you were out in Oregon visiting with those programs, including a conversation with Bo nix, who spent those quality years at auburn, one of the most heavily recruited players, his father, a legendary quarterback at auburn. What did you learn from talking to him about, I think this is his final year, and let's sneak a few more in. Yeah, you never know, Paul, I asked Bo, if I told you when you started at auburn that you would end up being married and playing for the Oregon ducks at the end of your college career, what would you say? And he just started to laugh. But you know, he knows it's been a journey. I think Bo is such a smart guy. He's such a competitive guy. Fun guy to talk to just about enjoying this moment, not wanting to leave college football just yet and move on to what's ever next for him. Ideally, the NFL, he had a really good season, as you know, last year, but they didn't make the PAC 12 championship game. He didn't end up in the top ten for the Heisman voting. So there's a lot on the table for Bo nix for his team for him individually, and he really just does seem to be enjoying this moment. He talked to me about, hey, I want as much freedom as possible in running this offense, almost like a Peyton Manning at the college level where he can call the game from the line of scrimmage. He's got a new offensive coordinator and will Stein, who he gets along with really well. Dan landing, obviously loves him. And if Oregon is going to win the PAC 12, which a lot of people thought they should have last year, they might have been the most talented team in the league. They're obviously going to need a big year from Bo and he's going to have to bring people along with them. But it was nice to see Bo nicks enjoying college football because as you know Paul, his first three years at auburn were not always enjoyable. No, they were dreadful, especially at the end. When he fled his namesake, Adam rittenberg, great stuff. As always, I appreciate him joining us as we had to the break here.

And we are back and we are taking your phone calls the rest of the way. What an afternoon, this has been with Barry Switzer and so many other great guests. So let's continue Tommy is up next. Hey Tommy, go ahead. Hey, what's going on? We are doing great. Thank you. I hear this thing all the time. About don't go on and trying to catch up with Nick Saban I hear these guys stand all the time, but they trying to catch up with Nick Saban and I thank George and the team now about how great Nick say been ill as far as losing coaches every year, but the expectations never changes. You know, they still want you to perform at a high level and when you take down Alabama, you take them down by taking a coach and when you agree Paul yeah, I mean, I think the toughest thing in any walk of life is maintaining success because you're measured against what you've done, the pressure, there's an expectation and what you are always trying to do for 40 years trying to become the best. Now it's expected and if you don't do it, it feels just like a disappointment. I think Paul did, you know, Georgia, they say we arrogant. And I really don't think they really understand the journey of ten year long span of dominant and losing culture, but still to this year, Paul, Alabama. Lost 5 years because the type of coaches they Nick Saban handed up with. So now he's trying to find coaches to light that fire back up out of those players. That's what jaws are going to have to understand when you replace and culture. You got to come in with the right coaches every year and replace those coaches. You think that's fast path. I think that's very fair. And this is the first well, I say it's the first test for Kirby smart. It really isn't. He lost Dan landing last year, but I don't think people thought that was as big a deal because Kirby smart is essentially the defensive coordinator. He had much chance there and he was able to move Glenn schumann and must jamp into that spot. So this is a little more important because of the Kirby smart as a defensive coach and this is an offensive position. And if Kirby had gone out and let's say he had hired Tommy Reese, there might be a different reaction to this, but there is a stigma connected to Mike Bobo. And that's what he's dealing with. Yeah, because you know what my Bobo is. You know, and the thing about it is called, you know, I'm not coming to shoot George anything on top right now, but George is just finished seeing how hard it is to stay on top and being replaced coaches every year. You know, that's all I wanted to say. Well, thank you. I don't think another question that was raised by the caller who was talking about how Alabama should when Kirby smart when Sabin leaves issue try to hire Kirby smart, but and I raise this question. I've had a few people push back on me, but why would you leave where you are when it's your school, first of all, and you've built this behemoth, you have brand new facilities across the board to go someplace and replace statement. Why would you do that? Same thing as applicable to dabo Sweeney, although the circumstances are a little bit different because he plays in a different league. But that's the one thing that I can't quite figure out. Anyway, let's check in with Larry, who is in Missouri. Hey, Larry. How are you? Hey, miss bob. I'm how you get along with that. Man, it's been a long time. Thanks for calling. Yeah, great, great. Hey, man, I appreciate it. And I'm actually playing this strike today. If you'll give me a minute or two, I just got a quick very switch to story for you. My personal very Switzer story. And this was years ago and you remember when my son got sick and ended up passing away or whatever anyway, he had a broke femur, a broke hip was on a ventilator 24 hours a day and we were in the hospital on my, you know, I can't even get him to the hospital. I'm underneath that like a wheelchair accessible van and a generator because I was a 100% dependent on power. If I lost power, you had to use an ambu bag, push it every 5 seconds to keep him alive. So I'm like, hell, I never asked nobody for nothing, but I mean, you know, I'm like a so I started to go fun. And a lot of your callers from this show dominated to me as Friends of mine from this show, people I didn't even know, which I appreciate them, but gets back to very Switzer. Just before that, he started the blue start following me on Twitter, which is surprisingly enough. And I don't know very short. I have met him since this, but anyway, he started following me and I'm like, well, you know, I don't have enough followers, and I'll just ask Barry Switzer. He would just put it on it, 'cause he got several 100,000 followers. If he'd put it on his feed, just, you know, years ago fun, you know, and I didn't hear enough about 5 minutes and I thought, well, hell, you know, I can't blame him. He don't know me or whatever. All of a sudden I get this DM back very switch. He says, no, what's going on? So I explained it to him again. And lo and behold, it's like a boom. He puts it on his feed. And then I told him I was in a coach. I'm not asking you. I'm not asking you for any money at all. If you just do that for me, and one minute later, he sends me a check for $500. Oh my goodness. I don't need the dough very Switzer. He doesn't know me. I'm just saying he is one hell of a good man. And I don't care if anybody says, he's always the king to be called Paul. I'll call you back. I really think you're great to hear from you again. You bet. And that is a remarkable story. JK is up next. What was going on fine, bob? JK, welcome. Hey, Paul. You know what I don't like about these long drawn out stories. We keep hearing from these folks. We don't have anybody to verify these stories. So I don't want to hear all these long growing out stories every day about various ways and all these people that people meet who cares. And to this guy to just talk about a few minutes ago about Alabama. And said Barry Switzer was trying to save his son's life. You don't think that's a big deal? Hey, Paul. Let me talk about this guy that just talked about. Okay. This guy talking about the coaches are the reasons of non success. What is he really talking about? And Kirby and Georgia is going to experience what it feels like when coaches leave on a consistent basis. Is this just about them or not cutting it the last two years? What is it really about? I mean, on one hand, they're dominant. On the other hand, they're losing because the coaches are leaving. I don't get it. The narrative changes after every loss it seems to me.

"Like, ah. Chip Kelly, where we can hire chip Kelly. Remember him? UCLA maybe we can poach it from UCLA and that didn't work either. I truly believe that Oregon is a lot closer to being nationally irrelevant than they realize. I mean, there'll be a good PAC 12 school to win some games and that's great. They're farther from a championship now than they were before Mario Cristobal left. And that's what I'm saying, right? I'm not trying to hate on them, but this is a step backward for them. It's a big step backward for Oregon. And Dan landing will probably do well he'll probably win some games and that's fine. But orient is no longer or anywhere near being a top dog in college football. I thought they were on the cusp of that. They beat Ohio State that Mario Cristobal and they decided to let Mario Cristobal leave. I don't know why you would do that. But the result of that is if you're gonna let Mario Cristobal leave, you better upgrade with their head coach. They didn't upgrade. So now it's a step backward and I want to acknowledge that nothing against Dan landing nothing against Oregon, but it's sad that we saw a program who was I thought really close to becoming a top dog in college football and then they fumbled the ball. So that's how I feel about Oregon and the new head football coach. Spencer Rattler, former Oklahoma quarterback really talented, I got a crazy big arm. He is an NFL level talent. He's got to make good decisions. He's got to keep his head on straight, but as far as like ability to throw the football, he is a fantastic quarterback. He has announced that he is transferring to South Carolina. He's pairing up with head coach Shane beamer down there. Down there over there, whatever. I'm in Hawaii, what is geographically in relation? It's unexpected to me. But it's a solid set. I'm like, oh, I did not see South Carolina coming, but that makes a lot of actually sense. It's like, that's kind of cool. He's going to play against the best teams in the SEC. And here's what I thought was crazy about this is that think about all the talent that is pooling up in the SEC. It's unbelievable. Coaches, players, and this, getting a really good quarterback to South Carolina, Spencer Rattler, it makes the SEC even better. It's amazing football. I'm excited to watch it. I've become a as I step back and just enjoy football. I'm like, where is the best football happening in college football? I think the Michigan Ohio State rivalry is pretty fun. But the SEC, if you want to watch great football and NFL players, great quarterbacks, great coaching, fun rivalry, tradition, loud crowds, people that care like the SEC is the place to be. I'm sorry. I'm from the northwest and that in the northwest state, they always hate it. Oh, the SEC is bad. No, it's not, man. It's amazing football. It's great. And this is another example of why the SEC is great and getting better. And once the SEC started getting good quarterbacks, it's been hard to even compete with them. It's really cool to see. And one thing that's interesting, a lot of people were talking about how maybe spent some riders gonna go to USC to play for Lincoln Riley. I'm like, why would he go to play for the coach who chose to bench him? That never made sense to me. But he actually ironically chose the other USC instead of Southern California. He chose university of South Carolina, which is kind of fun interesting. I bet he feels it's like, that's kind of a cool little dig at Lincoln Riley..

"Orban or Orban, Orban is not a word. Someone come out to me over a bit. No, not a word. Oregon has hired their next head coach. They hired Georgia defensive coordinator Dan landing to be their new head football coach in Eugene. And I want to be clear about one thing because I'm trying to be self aware. I know that this entire segment is going to make me sound like an Oregon football hater. And I don't mean to be. Unfortunately, I feel like I need to give Oregon football fans bad news. Here's the good news first though. So let's start on the most positive note I possibly can. Dan landing is a good football coach. He's the Georgia defensive coordinator. He's got a good defensive mind. He is young, he's 35 years old. He knows defense. I am not at all trying to say that Dan landing is a bad football coach by any means 'cause I am not. He's a good coach. Unfortunately, here is what Dan landing is not. He's not a big name. And in my opinion, hiring Dan landing is going to hurt recruiting. Because I think a lot of people, 18 year old kids in high school football, getting ready to go play in college. Go. Who's Dan landing? I've never heard that name before. And then they probably have some weight and they're like, oh, the Georgia defense coordinator. But he's not Nick Saban. Chip Kelly, Lincoln Riley, Mario Cristobal, Jim Harbaugh. He's not a Kirby smart. He's not a big name in college football that people will recognize. And whether you like it or not, Oregon's program is taking a step backward. They signed Dan landing to a $29.1 million deal. Hey, that's about a $70 million difference between what they should have paid Mario Cristobal in what they are paying Dan landing. So congratulations. You saved money. Oh, yay. You're not paying a guy a lot of money. That's great. Are you a top program college football? Oh no, no, you're not. Oh, that's right, yeah. Because if you want to have a top college football coach you pay them a $100 million and get a better coach's coach before and has a proven record. Nothing against Dan landing. He's not proven. Why would anyone go to Oregon over? Let's go play in rural Oregon instead of.

"They're lining up right over. Bigmat Bach Horse, the center guy who moved over from guard as man to man. That's a really hard block for a center in pass protection. When you have one on one with the talented nose guard, he's the one who really applied. The pressure made that sack happened seven sacks for Georgia, 2nd and 15 for Clemson from their own 45 below. Snap takes the handoff. Quarterback draw younger, little a Plunges. Back into Georgia territory tackled at the Bulldog 45 yard line. It's a game of about nine, maybe 10, depending on the spot. Gene and Walker combined on the stop for the Bulldogs. Sets up a much more manageable third down here and man, the way this game has gone, Sean with five minutes to go. I think this is four down territory time You cross the 50. And you're down in the fourth quarter. I think you've got to be thinking four downs here, so don't have to get it all here. Georgia 10, Clemson 32 by two sec, then Jay Dixon is the running back. Here comes the heat. They pick it up, DJ throws caught and dropped incomplete. Galloway. I thought I had it at the 40. And he just couldn't hang on. It'll bring up fourth and five. Broken up by Louis C. Incredible play by seeing you nailed it. Galloway actually did catch it really seen almost simultaneously in about a half. Second came and punched that ball out with a big right fist plunged to the ground harmlessly for an incompletion. It was the right call, but a great play that time by seeing and not give up on the play instead of just making the tackle to go back the ball out of Hands of the receiver. Here comes the Georgia crowd. So glimpses, now five of 16 on third, down fourth and five. Galloway in motion loved to write two to each side shotgun staff. Here comes the pressure, young early roles and throws. It's incomplete just beyond the reach of E. J. Williams. Kobe Dean was coming in basically untouched. Clemson turns it over on downs the word tonight how it used for Georgia's defence. Relentless, absolutely relentless. And the way they're pursuing, and in just the play, calling just constant pressure on DJ every 3rd and 4th down there, bringing linebackers right at the middle press, pressing the pocket, forcing running backs to make big blocks to get bigger Linebackers and Clemson just has not been able to get it done in big situations. Do well on the way to spend much of the night running for his life tonight. That was no exception of that play, never had a chance to get started. CJs 1937 for 178 yards. At the end of that possession, So Dan Landing and Kirby smart, dialing it up for Georgia's defense. Let's bring you Fitzsimmons back into the conversation from down on the field. The guys I know America. Maybe thinking that this aesthetically is not a pretty football game, and we have these two marquee names a quarterback in JT Daniels of Georgia and D. J. Williams. Clemson. Look to me guys, and I don't know how you feel. But down here on the field, it's a hard hitting, paint swapping football game. If we had natural grass, it would be just an old school throwback. Bank of America Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. I'm giving full credit to Kirby Smart and that defensive staff and Brent Venables, Clemson, We have not had one targeting call one personal foul. It's been a hard hitting football game and anybody who wants to say Well, it was boring, Man. You just don't know ball to me, guys. SK Barrett. I know how you feel. But I think this has been an outstanding football game and extremely well coached. Defensive game by both staffs. Well, the numbers bared out Ian because it's on both sides again. We haven't had an offensive scoring touchdown in this football game between two top five teams. As advertised experience defenses, especially up front.

"On again. Kirby. Smart is not scared right now. Dan Landing the defensive coordinator, playing man to man coverage everywhere, including Justin Roth. They lined them up with a lot of lot tonight. I think they must like to match up there. And Ross had a little bit of space. But again, not enough protection no longer delay right now. It looks very uncomfortable in the pocket, and I think that's by design a lot of heat brought by Kirby Smart early in this game spires in the punt, fourth and nine from the clumps in 16. Here is Jackson is deep for Georgia back in his own 38. Inspires low line drive punt bounces at the 50 and takes the Clemson hop for a yard that it was hit by. I think a bulldog and now there's a pile of right in midfield right in front of the Clemson bench. The Tigers say they've recovered it. In the fall. They did Clemson football in midfield. Well, you always talk about early season matchups. Sometimes they're determined by a big special teams played at this stands. This is e enormous. Jack Maddox on the fumble recovery. Here's the replay on are monitored it did you know Sure did hit of Kendall Milton. Yep, That's you know, you've got to have communication and hard to see from our angle. That's where as a punt return, it was a rugby style. Punch it up. Ball is rolling on the turf down the right sideline, and Kendall Milton was blocking his man never saw it. It clipped his heel. Looks like the returner was trying to signal to him vocally. Peter Peter, that's usually what you say it means get away from the ball. Get away from the ball. It's on the turf. Milton didn't hear it quickly enough to take a look at it. But it looked to me like that did hit his ankle. Yes, EC officiating crew is heading for the monitor. And with that, during this review will take a media time out with our colleagues at ABC television, 5 32 to go in the first half still scoreless. But we're starting to get some funky plays that could swing this game one way or the other. Georgia.

John Madden is our producer Tonight. Carl Nunes is our spotter and Bobby Pell is wrestling through some well black luster staff so far, especially for Clemson, whose total offense only here in the first half sitting right at about 31 yards, DJ younger lay back to throw on 1st and 10 and the Air Mills, one of the right sideline and deep into the clumps. And bench as this drive is starting on the Tiger 15 yard line. They've been unable to run the ball there minus yards on ground, and that's offset the modest 36 yards they have through the air. And that doesn't surprise me. Honestly, we talked about how good this front seven is for Georgia. But I'm really impressed so far with us Georgia secondary and they lost four guys, the NFL but so far there covering these clubs and athletes pretty well on the court on the draw, hand off the piece gets to 16 game of yard. There's just nothing there up front. Jalen Carter is the initial tackler for the Bulldogs. There are just some bona fide space seekers and throwbacks. You don't see much Jordan Davis 66 £340 Devonte Wyatt 633 15. They got some beef up front. If you're wondering where the beef is, it's here in Charlotte, the Duke's Mayo Classic indeed, 39 now for Clemson, on the right, half, We're moving right to left two receivers to each side really younger, little a shotgun again steps to the left foot. "We've been going down nine tips for winter. Gardening and fred number one was planned evergreens and number two right prune your trees and shrubs. Now i don't have any. I do not have to ask you about number three. Because i know you agree because you've been talking about this recently and that's planned berry bushes for winter color but number four is an interesting one learned to love seed heads. Yes and right now. That is is boring on critical. Now i'm thinking of myself and liking to look out at even some dead tops and things that just simply change the perspective of your garden in wintertime. However when it comes to the critters that i spoke of earlier in the program. I'm feeding them there. He me out of house and but they're just about harsh hardly into the regenerate. No there is no regeneration. They've just about consumed all of the natural seeds and things that are common for them <hes>. Even to the point. I i gained a little respect for a the today <hes>. He and she and buddies cleaned off corncob in just write. Short order fought over. Who got what the next day. The corners of gordon seeds are gone and squirrel. Came back sat. There then went up top and hung and look down at it and then started to eat the cobb when when they're hungry enough to eat the corncob. I'm going to keep feeding. I don't need more squirrels but at the same time <hes>. Yes he'd heads can add to the winner perspective. It depends on on your perspective. But i just definitely don't clean up my goodness thoroughly in the fall as some do because i liked to see the natural in the summer and on into winter number. Five is <hes>. You some of your cuttings to decorate indoors by all means and we talked about this ever weeks ago pre-christmas and i mentioned that i don't cut my taxes and other things out front and so on more often than every other year long bows the reason for doing. It is to maintain the plant. However those bows get bundled up set back in the shade onto christmas time and then i clear the mantle of some other things and so on and put those bows down. Put a few christmas decorations. And i put candles in there but i do not like the candles i. I'm super cautious about that. Because it's family history but at the same time <hes>. Yes by all means <hes>. Do use the cuttings. And i'm just gonna leave it that way and number six is <hes>. Do some winter composting. Yes no i have <hes>. I have the police for it and for many many years. Now i use them a little farm fence and it's about four feet wide. It runs about eight and a half feet long farm fence sticks up just about three feet a little more than three feet and every scrap of vegetable material. Nothing no meat milk so on but every scrap of vegetal was into a steel bucket. Stainless steel bucket under my sink. And then once a week out and buried into the leaves of last fall. I keep kind of turning it over. There is no bad odor <hes>. Compost will actually heat up in the wintertime. But not nearly as much so. I'm getting the material. They're such that. Come spring then i can start for it over and getting <hes>. Well let's just say some. Fantastic what i call black gold that i made myself and it works really works. I have seen your black gold and yes it does number nine. Our number seven is cut invasive plants. Yes now not only cut but dig out if necessary and there are a number of invasive creators. I'm not going to try to get into which ones but do not let any of them go to seed that's-that's number one and that starts dandelions and all then in terms of some of the weeds are annuals. They will die in the fall and be done and at cetera. Anyhow however a great number of the weeds by terms are going to be perennials and that starts with the danton at cetera et cetera. They will cut them. They will come bounding back at you. And i swear on pistols. If you could one off or don't get down deep enough to cut it even inches and more below the ground it will come back to you threefold because those big routes have buds on them for top growth and you need to go down deep enough in the dan line the fissile and that's cetera to get them killed and i do that quite frequently with roundup. I know. there's a lot of discussion about that right now. But i'm very careful how i handled it. Cetera i put it in. I'm gonna call it an oil can so it doesn't splits and and s- play out. J will not come sit on my left. Georgia defensive coordinator Dan Landing has emerged as the favorite to take the same position for the University of Texas, according to Dennis Todd Dan landing of Georgia, Georgia Bulldogs defensive coach He's only 34. But he's considered one of the rising stars and all of college football. Georgia coach Kirby Smart. Pluck the Kansas City native from Mike nor Val's Memphis staff following the 2017 season after years outside linebackers coach Landing was elevated to coordinator in 2019 when Mel Tucker left for Colorado. Georgia finished 12th nationally. A total defense is season third in 2019, with landing calling the defensive place so this is would be a big hit for Steve Sarkisian. Also interviewed has been very autumn of Arkansas and Mrs States, Mississippi State's offensive coordinator Zach Arnett. But again, Dan Landing in L A. N n i n G has emerged as the leading candidate. For this defensive coordinator. Protections that would be Can you imagine? You know how good George's defense has been? Good gosh be there doesn't seem to be shifting in his share any so I think I'm not. I'm not sitting on a chair. Just Oh, I don't know if think, e don't know that fully did the job you were promising there at I haven't. I haven't heard that name before. But you're right. I am. I'm familiar with the George defense and it's an impressive impressive squad that they seem to put on the field there. And I will say that There is a beat a level excitement about this Texas program in that, you know, guys are leaving. I mean, guys are leaving Alabama for Texas for the same job. You know, he's a doubt Bob's believe, enjoying Georgia for Texas for the same job. It's one thing if you're believing to be promoted, you know into it. Didn't you know the Kyle Flood thing? He's technically the offensive line coach in Alabama is gonna have the same job here, but there were making in the offensive coordinator. But if you guys were coming For the same that, you know, not a promotion. Sure, there's money implications involved here. Yeah, The thing about a good brand remain strong. It gives me goose bumps like with that excitement because it's not normal to me at again like it's been with what we've gone through because of what I'm seeing around us. And not only that the level of excitement from former players still to this day, not during that you not even during the national championship, but when they hire coaches Or, you know, recruit. It's just this. The social networks right now are ablaze with former current recruits championing us which I just hadn't seen in a while. So you know, Vito, you and Jay saw the national championship defense. What I thought was a tremendous defense Protects is But I'm old enough. I can remember. Those defense is when for for Fred Akers when they had Steve Massey, Steve McMichael, Kenneth Sam's Those guys Unbelievable defense's and defense is where they would be. You know, 17 players taken 17 players taken. In the draft one year from the Texas offense and defense. But back those years when defense was king, and I love the way Georgia plays, defense and very physical I If it's landing, I think it's gonna be a huge get for my friend Steve Sarkisian. But the defense in college football is just it's I don't even know how to evaluate it because of the way that the game has changed that as well. I was asking you guys done after the national championship game. Is there a problem? Do we need to look at the rules that perhaps you know, to make some adjustments there because of the way that offenses have exploded. And look, this is another. Just another credit to Nick Saban, because, remember, a decade ago he was winning these national championship beat Florida beat Ellis. You 9261 year. Can you imagine? And Alabama ls you game? You know, that is five field goals. The end cannot imagine. Uh And so, yeah, he's not on the scene. Oh, this is the way that people are going to run off. And so okay, I'm gonna do it, and I'm gonna do it better than you guys I don't know, like could you combine the defense that Alabama used to play? Let's say, you know, you remember that team that Texas played in 2009 in the national championship game? Their NFL guys all over that defense. I'm sure he's got NFL guys right now. But they're still you know, they give up some points over there. I don't know if it's just because of the way that college football is now. But yeah, if you could put together a defense like that one of the those SEC defense is from 10 years ago that you know they had all over the place. And maybe the sky from Georgia can coordinate that in Texas, and he will come and he'll see the big 12 offenses. Which the offenses in the SEC or not likely, a Mississippi state is now with everybody's passing just about every down, but I think it's gonna be interesting to see how that trance if, if landing does come And even will vote. He's looking at two other SEC guys bury autumn of Arkansas and Zach Arnett, a Mississippi State how that translate in the big 12 because it seems like ashes defense, even though they got better the end of the year. It was like, hold your breath a lot of times like Whoa, Here it comes. So it is. This is this is very, very interesting news today and we the Texas hasn't officially told Chris Ashes out, right? Well, I know starving. Apparently, he's gonna be out blackly. He will be urban Meyer wants to hire him to be a an assistant there, and I think he was offered a job by Dan Mullen in Florida. So I mean, probably be okay. Don't hate Chris Ashton. I don't know. I can't just say to any former coaches who have already packed up and left or have You know what I mean? It's not like I mean where I get so stoked, But I mean, I was a believer. I was behind you guys I gave you everything I had is a fan. All 10 have issued a warning in a Washington Post op ed and the post Dan Land. Both talked about it with Cuomo's time out letters. So what was the overall message and tone of this letter? I think, cautionary and and warning would be the operative words. This is a collective group of people that do not see eye to eye on many issues, including people like Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld on the conservative end, and Obama's defense secretary is on the other. Notably also includes Jim Mattis, the retired Marine general who was Trump's first defense secretary, and Marc Caspar, the most recent confirmed defense secretary. Going back to the 19 seventies in terms of surviving defense secretaries all signed on Dan Lamont's with The Washington Post with us Now you mention the military has the president explicitly said he would try to use the military to try and stay in office or to overturn these results.
