"Dan Kaplan, who covers sports business for the athletic, says you could have chosen the team whose ownership group Also owns an interest in professional soccer. And what did you find? Here? It started looked at the two teams and Sunday Super Bowl Kansas City in Tampa and the owners of campus for for many years old Manchester United. And the owners of Kansas City Chiefs on the MLS team, So I said that a nimble esteem in Dallas and I said, That's pretty interesting. And I took a look at the last few years a Super Bowl than loan. Behold almost every Super Bowl had two teams, the soccer interest nine out of the last 10 civil roll teams. In fact, the lone exception being the Philadelphia Eagles, so I did a piece on looking at. Is this just a coincidence, Or is there something more going on? Did you come to a conclusion on that? Well, it talked to a lot of people, and their initial reaction was, Oh, it's gonna be a coincidence. But, you know, thinking about it a little more. There is something going on because you know key, and it's not just only soccer clubs. Running teams and other sports Whether the MBA any child, I mean the buffalo Bills, own his own own sabers it you learn a lot from your successes, and you missed aches. And there's You know whether that performance had to hire a coach how to hire GM, Uh, nutrition alot over the boat. These are things that can carry over Between Between different sports, and that's what you're starting to see, I suppose and the trend of soccer and NFL Speaking with Dan Kaplan, sports business reporter at the athletic, he's read an interesting piece about how the nine of the 10 last Super Bowl teams have a soccer interest, meaning they own one or partially own one or controlling interest. Who else is involved in with that list? In that list. Well, well, you go back. The San Francisco 40 Niners were in the Super Bowl last year against the cheese. They actually just this week increase their equity ownership of leads. United from I think it was 15% to 37%. They spent up over 50 million English pounds to do that. The Atlanta Falcons have been in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. Both of those teams have MLS stakes. The L. A Rams, who lost to the Patriots the following season. Their owner owns Arsenal on if you go further back beyond just the last five years, the Seattle Seahawks their owners own a piece of the MLS. Founders, But that's really the extent of it. It's more the last five. Six years where you've seen this trend before that it was Seattle and the Patriots. The Patriots on the MLS is revolution that play at the same Stadium is the Patriots and its zest. The football connection. You point out two different multi team ownerships, right? The the owners of the Philadelphia 76 his own crystal Palace, the team in the English soccer first division. You're seeing this across force. You're seeing multi Team ownerships enterprises that owned more than just a team in one sport is sport sports become big business. The the ownership is crossing Not not just sports sports, lived down the reason for the international dungarees. So, um, we'll probably see a lot more be more and more rare to see teams. Make the final finals of their sport that just have that one holding new ownership group that that one team, I guess for some of these guys have. Some of these owners obviously are super wealthy. It's fun. They they love sports. There's a part of that. And there are certainly owners who go at it that way. I mean, I think the new owner of the New York Mets de Colon goes out and looks at it from this is fun. This is something I've always wanted to do. But when you Put together, uh, vast holdings across sports. It's more than just fun. It's a big business. Thanks, Dan Dan Caplin. Sports business reporter for the athletic coming up next. There's not been locker room access. I unfortunately I don't see that going back the other way back to the old normal. Would that mean by the way to fans World. It means circumstance quite put connected dots, but it means they're going to get less. "Ones will emerge. Dan Kaplan, sports business reporter at the athletic has a few Dan your read on this. Well, I think in terms of the fan experience, what once we are not going, we'll get through the pandemic in the vaccine that seems a widely distributed. The story looks at what will stay with us in sports and I'm a fan experience perspective, I think concession stands. For example, those will largely go to self serve mobile, ordering the long concession lines of the past. I don't think we will see that you mentioned temperature checks. I believe the head health checks before going into then usual for remain with us. Those those were some of the items. All right, then, if this Super Bowl allows coming up in Uh, a couple months here in Tampa, we could go paperless tickets. That's right. And this is this was a wouldn't call it a minor trained. It was modest trend Jewish scene with then use it always in recent years allowed for mobile ticketing but hadn't gone fully paperless. Except in some circumstances. This is something the NFL have been picking about pre pandemic to the Super Bowl. If you're only gonna have 10 20,000 people and These concerns about public health clearly going fully mobile for ticketing, it would be expected. How about this Thies off feel business ventures for athletes? Why would that jump? Well, you know, I note in this story is reporter. It seems every day My in box is filled with PR pictures for athletes, starting companies investing in companies. Not that we didn't see that pre pandemic, But it is. It certainly got God moving much, much more so, And the reason we're seeing that is Look what happened in the end to NHL and will be for will happen in the NFL next year is reduce out reduced salaries because of the pandemic, and it sends the message that the page checked. No one was expecting as an athlete from one team is not always guaranteed, and so you have to take your business into your.

"Is Dan Kaplan I don't believe it thanks for being with us my question for Dan Kaplan our number two here until six o'clock and it is a pleasure to welcome in the former Colorado GOP chair Dick Wadhams sticking with Mike rice today thank you for the time we do appreciate it you bet might need to be with you yes absolutely so we're what we wanted to have the on and granted you are coming from one side of the aisle the opposite side of course from now senatorial candidate John Hickenlooper because he did not show for his his virtual ethics committee hearing on it allegedly accepting improper benefits as governor and so AG Phil Weiser has now said that he will enforce the subpoena to compel Mr Hickenlooper to testify so I want to go back to step one because as I said in an earlier in the show I'm a guy I'm I'd I don't pretend to be an expert on any of this and so for those who are sort of more in my boat looking at just the situation as just sort as it is as best I can this surrounds amendment forty one is that correct that is correct so how what are it in layman's terms some of the restrictions that say a governor would be under eight in terms of benefits gifs extender well amendment forty one really restricted the ability of any American official in Colorado from governor on down that state legislators and other state officials from accepting any gifts from that exceeded I think it's sixty nine dollars it's a very modest amount and so it sort of so obviously the things in the the Turks in question with the former governor Hickenlooper lane flights and that kind of thing yes sixty nine dollars if you go by that very quickly but that was the purpose of amendment forty one I happen to think it's probably more restrictive than it needs to be better but it's the law and the Colorado the the independent ethics commission of Colorado that's the answer to that Sir that was set up to enforcement of forty one has been very clear directives and that's what they were doing today the enforcing the law so he was compelled to testify but because of the covert nineteen pandemic in and everything surrounding that it was going to be a virtual testimony of virtual participating in the hearing and he didn't want to do that so now he's in contempt right here's what I mean they made a big deal that he would miss him for ability to rent the truck to represent himself would be severely restricted and in this virtual kind of hearing because he would not be able to have his lawyers present which I'm not quite sure I understand that because they could certainly be in the same room and E. he insisted that he wanted to wait until later in the summer apparently so that he could have a a an in person hearing I don't know Mike I mean I'm pretty skeptical about that I think that he wanted to push I think the motives for wanting to delay wants to push it past the June thirtieth which is a day of the democratic primary he's in a hi merry contest with amber speaker of the house Andrew Romanoff and I think what are the what he was really hoping to get this push back and I think he anticipates he can be found guilty on some of these counts against them and he didn't want the bad press before the the primary sprayed in so really it's I mean correct me if I'm wrong ticket too it's really a a PR type of hit and in the chances in the primary that he would be concerned about and frankly like I mean even you correctly identified me as a partisan I'm a former state chairman and run a bunch of campaigns on my person my personal feelings are pretty clear in my personal life but I would also say I could step stepping back from that I frankly am totally perplexed by helping Hickenlooper campaign and take a look for himself and handle this I mean frankly if I was working for a candidate in such a predicament I say let's let's just get this hearing over with whatever they find you guilty of doing under the ethics law it will be a modest fine yes it'll be embarrassing yes it's something we didn't want to have happen in the campaign let's get it done so we get this behind us for the rest of the campaign I am just dumbfounded by what they've been doing Mike because they've now got themselves a much bigger date deeper hole because they have him now been found in contempt of the of the Colorado ethics commission and I I just I frankly you take the partisanship out of it I don't understand their strategy spent this Dick Wadhams is with us former Colorado GOP chair if he if Hickenlooper had taken this tack tell me tell me if this in the front from a public standpoint again pretend you're on his campaign and it's difficult that's a tough ask Dick but but none the less if you decide you know what I disagree with all of these charges I don't think I'm guilty of that but you know what I want them out of the way I'm just gonna pay my penalty now even it's sort of like pleading no contest right you're not admitting to it but you're also paying the Piper so to speak would that have gone over and blown over much more quickly than what what the actions today might do yes yeah Mike I'm I mean I'm sure of it he they could have a hearing today a former governor Hickenlooper could have shown up in self online and he could have made his case his lawyers could have made the their case files on his behalf as well of the of the commission and then would have gone into effect of session and decided if the charges were valid or not and then either today or tomorrow they would make that decision and that they're still going to by the way but now they they have had a vote to hold him in contempt he's now put the lance I think he's dug a deeper hole because the public the public sees that he's been trying to invade the commission and and refused to show up I I just I just I think this would have been behind him next week if you just showing up well you know this case but them vote if they find guilty of two or three or more I don't know what they're gonna do okay fine hello this is now going to be a political liability yeah yeah it is but I don't fatal but they but I think he it's a lot worse now than it would have been yeah I don't think there's any question would you expect and Romanov to really jump on this if he doesn't global campaign no malpractice because I think I think voters do deserve to hear from his opponent about about what he can for debt and and so what yeah I assume the writ Hickenlooper I mean that my relatives so if if if if we can progress on to win the democratic nomination which I still think there's a relatively not but a very high chance of that you can bet that Cory Gardner and his allies will be racing an issue in the general election no doubt Dick Wadhams is our gas we have Dick for a few more minutes sees the former Colorado GOP chair really good to get his perspective here on the show I think to the other side of it I still think even though there's maybe more cynicism than ever Dick in politics today I think people want to believe in honesty and transparency and those kind of things even though it sounds trite even the whole even though hypocrisy seems to run the day in and I think that I I just think that Mr Hickenlooper runs the risk of not being transparent and not in in eBay eating something just by perception if nothing else I agree and I think that's why I say that I think the public would have been far more tolerance of this whole situation had he shown up later this case and then the event and then accepted that the judgment of the commission and then that the public could decide how much weight to give baths in the in the upcoming primary election and ultimately the general election the democratic nominee but now he's really made it even harder and nastier situation for him and then it should have been so AG Phil Weiser has said he will enforce the subpoena to compel Hickenlooper to testify as to what happens next well act is currently right before the commission took the contempt of vote Hickenlooper's lawyer said all well we've changed our mind we want to appear before the commission next week on Jan sixteenth or something room two weeks now whatever it is and apparently the commission basically so they weren't interested like listen you had your chance today we're not interested in so if if it told me that the signal for folks amazingly took that attackers took the phone but now they figure that they do have a big problem with the contempt for a team like the the other thing is that I think is I can't help but think that they can look for in his campaign team thought you know if we just kind of hold out the commission's gonna full they're not really going to push this they're going to have a plan they're not going to really push it and like it it's almost like when when the when the when the commission decided to hold him in contempt that's when it's not all my lord this is this for real this is seriousness okay well so what well I think it's too late I I that this point is buried in the snow so deep the incident the problem isn't getting any better forms and it really sounds like the commission which I'm reading from a Colorado some piece it's a five member board appointed by the governor state house state Senate in Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice and we have obviously a Democrat AG right now and Mr riser and they're really holding it can look first feet to the fire does that surprise you at all I really don't I mean you know those five individuals and I'm not familiar it does that mean very at the end of September you're with each of them but my perception of them is that the yes Sir Democrats and Republicans in one affiliated none of them are terribly partisan I mean even the registered Republicans and Democrats meaning of their their their Holocaust we're discussing they have been appointed to this pourtant commission in eight days I think they take their jobs very seriously and so it wasn't like it was a five nothing motor five Republicans over there were two Democrats and one affiliated to join in as well as I understand the commissioner may break up make up so in the end we it is the Attorney General has responsibility in his office does to enforce the subpoena issued by the commission and sorry is put to a democratic Attorney General in a very awkward position but I applaud him for his for his office for for doing their job at some point he probably didn't have much of a choice steady no we really didn't then he would have looked at and it would look really bad and frankly it would not have been appropriate legally permitted just ignore the subpoena and I I don't I wouldn't I don't know so why they're very well at all but but I might but that he learned that a man of honor and he would not have he would not have that walked away from his responsibility on this side of moments with Dick Wadhams former Colorado GOP chair so he is so Hickenlooper's in contempt and so at the he's he's now going to have to be forced to appear before the committee.

"Dan Kaplan I am still on a high from Saturday wow and you know me I'm an optimist it's not like I ever lost faith in humanity or anything like that I probably got more faith in humanity than just about anybody out there but what I saw on a Saturday I mean it it just it was an out of body experience it uplifted me that much and so I want to talk with you about that as well as so much more by Jenna Ellis joining us at five oh six and and the only downside even conceivable downside to having the president's lawyer Janet Alice Colorado girl on our show is it completely blows up my phone because all I do is tweet out today the president's lawyer general is going to be with us today it's cetera and then all the sudden because China has is some phenomenal number of Twitter followers I can't even count that high all of a sudden she tweeted out in blue minutes cool I'd love this but it is it's not surprising but it's still impressive to see the national following that China has developed for good reason I mean you see here on national TV and she's defending the president and she does it at such a high level you know intellectually she's also an attorney constitutional attorney obviously she's presents for your but also the way she's able to manage her you know her herself and her emotions when she's being you know taunted she'll take on the bass the left has to offer and just decimate them so Jenna Ellis with us at five oh six we'll be talking about with Jenna Joe Biden's very bad weekend and much much more so looking forward to that visit at four thirty six Kristi Burton brown will join us she is well a constitutional attorney and vice chair of the GOP and we'll be talking about the one twenty petition drive trying to get enough signatures to ban late term abortion getting on the ballot first and then win in the fall election and banned late term abortion in Colorado and across to be talking with this about some of the challenges faced over the weekend obviously we're gonna come out of the gate with and how can you avoid this city is so much fun to talk more about the breaking news on Friday that we covered then but since there been some interesting developments in that of course Joe Biden telling African Americans that they aren't really black unless they're supporting Joe Biden and then one that goes into a different category but equally as stunning as in at it is this guy fill in the blank is a senior is he chest in it he that is the technical term I guess be more on in you know me if you've been with me through twenty five years and you know I don't name call but at this point that really is a profoundly important question we have to ask ourselves is Joe Biden's simply a more and so we'll be getting to that replaying the sound which is so much fun I do want to talk about current Colorado's partial re opening and obviously it should have re opened first in Colorado with proper social distancing itself right is what is most protected in Colorado and there is freedom of religion and under chaired pull list with his far left anti faith world view you know we're opening religion last apparently because the governor keeps announcing all of these re openings many of which should have either never been closed or never close to the degree they work but he keeps announcing all these real openings park where houses of worship still not but again it just proves the point we've talked about before but we'll revisit the latest on that and unless I missed something or Brian you're really good about pointing out when I do unless I have missed something I don't think you're Polish has spoken to re opening U. sports yet may build maybe he uttered a word or two here or there but to me that should be very high on the list as well and should have been for a very long time U. sports now I'm maybe missing something I don't think so I'm out and about A. thon in my job but I don't see the kids on the baseball field I don't see the kids on the lacrosse field for the soccer fields and and to me that's insane I mean my god if you're sitting there as governor of this state and you care about what you should care about which is starting with protecting the human lives of of Coloradans and and defending and protecting our most vulnerable in the nursing homes with all we have and then doing everything humanly possible to minimize the impact of this on their children shouldn't always be your your top three that's an easy call should that should not be at the very top of the list and look how he's blowing all three because as far as I can tell you sports have not been open up at random I missing something have use won't open up you know it might be one of these things and hopefully doesn't get buried the lead type thing in the headlines with the front page of the Denver post today talking about the restaurants and B. three open at fifty percent capacity at center but you're right a U. sports you know church gathering synagogues mosques haven't heard anything about that yeah and listen I'm thrilled about the restaurants if you check my Twitter at ten caplets you will see I may have been the last you meant to dine in a restaurant before they shut down because remember when the shutdown came it seems like years ago now right we're both young then when the shutdown came everybody thought it was going to kick in that night but there were some fine print it didn't kick in until eight o'clock the next morning so I show up at snooze for my usual you know open the door the minute they open breakfast before I get to the office and they let me in because the order if they're great people but the cut off was until eight AM so I really think it may have been the last person to eat in a Colorado restaurant before they shut down so I am thrilled that they're re opening I I just feel horrible for all the carnage and devastation caused to so many good people in the restaurant industry which did not have to be this bad it didn't need to last nearly this long if policy done his job right in other ways but I do want to talk at some point about you sports will mention it today and focus on it in tomorrow show because this this really you know it just goes to the consequence of having the wrong person as governor you know in this just goes to the bubble that Polish slips and if we had a regular guy or gal as governor then you would have seen you sports open along time ago in a very protected way because obviously none of us need degrees in child psychology to understand the potential harm on multiple levels to two kids and I include you know kids see their teenage years from this and and particularly with the younger ones but with all of them just allowing them every opportunity to get outside so a governor who is in Pune with the people of the state including the work regular working people of this state the backbone of this state you know a governor who had his head on right would have been focused from day one not on at all cost guaranteeing the dope industry full freedom or at all costs getting on every national TV show he could he would have been focused on art how do we let these kids play sports and do it in a protected controlled kind of way and anybody with half a brain could see that that isn't exactly the hardest challenge in the world given how fields are laid out given how facilities are laid out you know AT all the resources were there to be able to in and probably never even discontinue sports to a certain extent some would have to be I get that part too more than anything else restart use sports a long time ago the fact here RT hasn't done that again just goes to the price of having the wrong guy with the wrong life experiences as governor because you tell me you look at the average baseball field you know they say I coached our sons you know baseball team for a few years along with some other great guys but I was really more of a a quick man carrier and a guy you filled out paperwork but I loved every minute of it but nobody has to be an engineer to understand how much open space you have on a baseball field and how easy it would be you modify a couple roles here and there how easy it would be for these kids to win now playing baseball for the last six weeks with certain precautions in place you don't get the job search they can have as many people as they want but you want kids out on a baseball field or soccer field lacrosse field king jerit says hell no to that dope stores no rules all the chains are off little kids teenagers wanting to play sports screw them I mean it's just this is so upside down with Polish it's outrageous eight five five four zero five eight two five five the number but I do want to tell you about what made me so happy on Saturday it is you know we we talk about life on the show a lot we talk about the life issue we have for decades what we have been of course featuring one twenty initiative one twenty trying to ban late term abortion in Colorado most people don't even realize late term abortion is still legal in Colorado so anyway because I fast majority people across party lines properly seat as barbaric so we've been talking about and to some of the civil rights heroes who have been out there on the front lines during a pandemic working to get signatures to get on the ballot and so on Saturday I had the privilege of spending some time with some signature gatherers out at the Walmart in Parker and I've got to tell you and there were some things we have to deal with legally to try to buy as much time as we could at that location because their first amendment rights have been infringed on out at that Walmart and that's sad and you know we're doing the best we can to deal with that legally but what was so cool was just being out there and watching them in action and I mean they have this thing down to a science all these volunteers they've got to sign set up they've got a drive through set up they've got their people in masks you know John and Terry had even fashion this big poll you know where if somebody was a little anxious about somebody approaching the car you know they could put take the you know sheet on the in a box and stick it into the car on a pole it was also cool but the the neatest thing was seen all the people who drove up from all walks of life so many young people so many people of color so many people and I and I have some of the names I want to mention during the show just so many people from all different walks of life stopping to sign the petition and often with a bunch of people in the car signing it was man it just makes you feel so good about humanity and so certain that if one twenty can get on the ballot it's going to pass because you think of all the energy and momentum they carry into the.

"CDC we want our churches in our places of faith and worship we wanted to open a CDC is going to be I believe today they're going to be issuing a very strong recommendation and I'm gonna be talking about that a little while but they're going to be opening up very soon we want our churches open we want our places of faith synagogues we want to open and that's going to start happening I consider them essential and that's one of the things we're saying we're gonna make that essentially you know they have places essential that aren't essential and they open and yet the churches aren't allowed to open and the synagogues and again places of faith Moscow places of faith yeah no doubt about up places of worship being essential I think that was dealt with in something called the first amendment so how upside down injured Publicis world that what should be the last to be shut down our houses of worship in Colorado are the first to be shut down and what should be first to be reopened are among the last to be reopened but again that's Jerd policy is far left world view this secular hard laugh that now controls Colorado so should houses of worship say no we are going to re open and does should they do that this weekend and of course if they do that in a very safe way which of course they would anyway given who they are and to ensure they do that eight five five four zero five eight two five five on the Dan Kaplan show obviously houses of worship virtually all of them are large enough that you could have significantly more than that ten people permitted now by king told us many more than ten people and and have at least twelve feet between each person you know.

R. choice or we can call the police and I said that's fine so they called the police and the police came out we ended up with three police cars there by the time we left there was yeah one guy listing here police officer said he would check after listening to are superior who runs the institution campaign and our position and that person to talk to the officer about that case and answered his excuses basically so he went and checked with his quote legal department in his car and then he came back and he said this is the case and we're not gonna let you do this you have to leave and the reason he gave was that that particular case wasn't wasn't applicable which is at Westminster mall he said because we had a police station there so it's not the same of course one no no listen I gotta tell you I don't see cops okay I just don't do it my dad was a cop for thirty years I have tons of cap friends clients I don't two cops but somebody needs to get sued here and and because you can't just do this you can't just make stuff up not listed right I'm the first to tell you that this is in the area of law I specialize in that you know I first learned of Bach during this radio show I haven't had the time to shepherd dies at which is looking at how later cases interpreted it but my goodness I'm I'm certainly gonna shepherd dies it tonight and so he's claiming that box different because there was a police station at Westminster mall yes yeah no I'm I here and T. I'm gonna look into that and so I'm not again I'm not advocating suing any police departments but what I am advocating is if if we're right as we think we are in this law the stores need to get sued the stores need to principal needs to be better names and phone numbers and all that stuff and said to call their police department but to provide recall then they're basically giving him the run around from what he called yeah I would love to get that information can be passed some contact information Orion sure yeah thank you thank you so much Hey thanks for what you're doing thank you what on earth does the presence of the police station have to do with the ability to collect signatures on I'm baffled by yeah by then yeah well and you know I was actually what are we gonna watch tonight if using Brooklyn nine nine now it's love propos while still going to watch some of that tonight but instead I'm going to be sheltered Eisenbach I'll be sitting in front of the TV with them but I'll be shepherd would you have said you have come across a huge issue I think then because we headed from Westminster down to southern Jefferson County and what a Pablo I mean yes Sir yes Windsor this is clearly a a spot by state wide problem and it's a challenge to the strip you know let me ask you this and please this is not meant to reflect negatively on our Muslim brothers and sisters that's not the point of the states aimed at the stores let's say the people standing outside were in burqas would they be calling the police well that gets into the whole political correctness thing you know I'm going to give the stores the benefit of the doubt that they do have some misguided and an appropriate policy on petitioning period I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt until we know more but it doesn't make any wrong better all over the house yeah I would say that they are not motivated by the contents of this drive this petition yeah you know I'm a look let's take one more call squeeze and blaze in fort Collins you're on with pain caplets and Dick Wadhams we have one minute left far away place let it go ahead hi yeah a friend and I were it shields today in Johnstown we got kicked out by the manager we left before the police came right afterwards we what's stored on behalf of their manager she'll S. C. H. T. L. S. what is a cell hi it's an outdoor good sporting store like I thought it hurt okay so that's from Sheffield John's not hers yes we're trying to get signatures for due date to wait also they said that they had kicked people with that same petition out earlier but we got it we I get right to this it well aid thank you for what you're doing out there getting these petitions signed and we'll forget this lot overnight another lot of smart people who have lived this long for years at a catastrophic injury work not this kind of law but I'll find smart people who know this area we already have Kristi Burton brown and she's adamant that now you know it's Bach is good law and you have that legal right to be in a common area a public area of private property and then amazingly it's not store or an isolated city it's how many yeah yeah also really amazing wow okay we're gonna get to the bottom of this overnight we're going to talk about it tomorrow thank you my friend Dick we literally probably have twenty five seconds final words of wisdom I think we know what your topic will be tomorrow yes I know absolutely I did promise people the latest numbers unfortunately Colorado another surge of reported deaths overnight no matter which way you cut it that CDC way everybody your died with covert which is what states are doing nationwide that surged up thirty three to one thousand to fifty seven the way Colorado started reporting Friday corner confirmed because dats search forty seven overnight that doesn't mean all forty seven of those souls perished in the last twenty four hours but being reported overnight so that number is surged up to nine sixty eight both among the worst in the country testing pitiful overnight just two and a half thousand or so still way behind almost every other state America Ryan tremendous job on the plastic thank you very much and I'm Dan caplets thanks to everybody out there passing petitions please help them now impact traffic this report is sponsored by rocket mortgage by quicken loans but when you travel around this evening as steady winds about twenty miles an hour those gusts upwards of thirty five miles an hour so downs on the highway's westbound seventy backed up that's due to an accident westbound seventy at Peoria so back toward two twenty five I would fast furious speeds up enough for a bit crowded north and I. twenty five downtown as well as north and I twenty five for my seventy six on up to eighty fourth Avenue and sim crowding on the commerce city drive busy west bound to seventy toward Vasquez and eastbound heading towards York Dennis forecast can be cloudy and breezy tonight by chance for showers or thunderstorms of low fifty eight sunny windy tomorrow mid eighties currently it's eighty seven with your back traffic and weather I'm Susan Phelan six thirty kale.

"Okay yeah all right my friend Danny we have Jim lines I've got to get ready and thank you Michael Bratton golden Jana Dan Kaplan show well court that was sorry I was trying to listen to rein in my ear direct traffic and I misunderstood thank you Ryan where did you want me to go next to Charles thank you Charles and Stapleton you're in the game Kapler show welcome Dan hello however I got word in the last hour I have a friend who has a cold it's it's in a convalescent home in Aurora and she's likely going to pass and I don't have many details I'm not a family member and I can't get the details but you know have just in the last few days been encouraging this family to ask for H. C. Q. and I wanted him to pronounce it but it's the commonly known therapy Dr Sickler clincher good for you that you can say it was even a chemist A. Alfa chemistry minor in college and I can't say give me enough when I walk past the chemistry building thank but so you can't you can't get it for her she can't get it it's my understanding they can't get it and this is all anecdotal not a family member of the medical device directive of gesture friend and the this family is a rather nine are all political whatever word you know I I'm I am like this stuff I'm on this stuff I was the religious studies major in college and all that so I'm following closely what's going on and I am wondering about illegal push back to a lot of what's gone on in the last two months and I'll keep it short but let's say what could a jury ever decide that a doctor with jailed H. C. Q. for political reasons would that be malpractice well eight and let me just start by saying this okay first when it comes to malpractice I think doctors get the benefit of the doubt on judgment calls and they should and and and so I'm not a I'm just speaking generally at this point okay generally speaking if a doctor was to withhold life's a potentially lifesaving medication and and did not have a very good medically based reason for that yeah then in theory there could be a claim there but I don't I don't want everybody interpreting this is me calling on people to bring medical malpractice lawsuits over hydroxy correctly right but juries could decide these matters if we have states where the drug is free flowing you know we have states where the drug is throttled we've got a problem in juries need to hear about it and that's all I'll say for now that you have the last word my good friend Paul Charles I'm sorry about your friend and I hope and pray there's a turn around thank you for the call I appreciate that I honestly don't know one way or the other whether a drug to Cllr Quinn is being used in Colorado right now you know for this covert purpose or not I am so sorry for Charles I was talking to another friend yesterday who it's somebody close to them die young person die from October nineteen just just awful Brian in literature and the Dan Kaplan show welcome there are where you are Barcelona started actor Ben Ben Hey let's take a step back but once it started knowing the number of border factor stuff yeah instead of focusing on that what you should've done walking down everybody there help you it makes no sense to quarantine all the healthy people and all the people that are mostly affected websites yeah yeah it like that who knows they're prepared I have one question per by can anybody tell me a virus that lands on it the people there you have to board up forty thousand hiring people here have been a teacher around the face I'll be out here why not hit in terms your first point my friend I really do think remember seems like a long time ago but I think the reason governor Poloz was so late with everything and seems so reluctant to go into the state wide lockdown remember he only dated after tri county an unelected official dated in tri county health I.

"The Dan Kaplan show my premise should it if you'd like but to give us an alternative if you think I'm wrong my premises the governor right now is undermining the stay at home order by allowing unlimited numbers of people to come in from covert hot spots without quarantine so if he's going to make that mistake lift the order so much damage has already been done to Colorado next if if he's going to fix that fantastic blocked once he does start to lift the order then at that point lifted completely and trust the people this idea that he's so much smarter than we are this idea that you cannot trust the people hi to me is insulting he does not understand that he works for us he really looks down on us people have learned about this disease and the people who are going to go out and do what you might consider and I might consider to be irresponsible they're doing that anyway right now the people are staying at home are are the people who get are trying to be most responsible so if you lift that order and let them live their lives they're going to continue to act responsibly but this guy's on a power trip and it was clear from his press conference today he wants to continue to control you as long as you can't and that's garbage garbage once the crew immediate emergency is over he shouldn't even have those powers the way that that I read the law anyway let's go to phone lines eight five five four zero five eight two five five Patrick thanks for holding so long you're on the Dan caplets show Mr cap was I just love it thank you the executive order the governor issued on March sixteenth that's twenty twenty dash zero one two found on Colorado dot gov it says by this executive order temporarily limited music shows foreclosures public utility disconnections I believe that that's not correct the veterans foreclosures and utility cut off or continuing sheriff's offices in Jefferson in Denver and boulder say it's business as usual and the courts are operating on a daily basis to throw people out on the streets in the middle of a national emergency and I think the governor has lied to the people of the state of Colorado and continues they would continue to believe that this order is going to protect them Albufeira he wrote about it now has the governor been confronted on that because remember he won't come on we don't get the chance to question him in a in a real form right I would love to like contacted you spoke first and left a message haven't heard back so let me look into that overnight let me see what I can find out obviously the governor isn't going to come on the show because he knows there are so many good questions he doesn't have good answers to but let me look into that tonight let's talk again tomorrow okay thank you thank you my friend Pritchett that eight five five four zero five eight two five five let's go to paddy little tenure on the Dane Kapler show welcome Hey Dan I had a question about the ventilators and I I believe it was probably the first time the governor spoke to the state about the coverage problem and he sounded very angry about the fact that she said we needed an additional seven thousand ventilators now seven thousand above and beyond what we already had in state and he was expressed in the at the edge she was being let down by the federal government she didn't say that but that's the impression that I got from the way he was exactly that and then and then recently more recently I heard something that possibly he had asked for ten thousand simulator sh but then I also heard that Cory Gardner was able to get us a hundred ventilators shrugged admit that seem to be sufficient so it's a hundred ventilators what's your position what what database was the governor workshop left to come to that seven thousand or ten thousand what a great question what a great question because we know that there is political ambitions are front and center for him I mean it's causing him to endanger the state by not cutting off travel from covert hot spots so was that a political calculation which which I think you suspect very fair question at the same time in fairness I think I believe the president when he said that the worst day of his life was when his advisers told him that he was going to need some impossibly high number of ventilators so I could understand any governor any president just being absolutely scared to death that they were gonna run out of ventilators and and people were going to die because they didn't have a machine forum so but but as you know at this point it looks like we're gonna be well within the capacity of the state of Colorado that which which goes to another point which is wait a second to me it's insane it's insane now to be shutting down all of these so called elective procedures nobody just goes into surgery for fun elective just means you don't need it to stay alive but so many of these procedures that people are being deprived of the ability to do now and good doctors and staff and hospitals are deprived of the upper opportunity to perform are undermining health and the economy for no good reason yes I agree Hey I just feel like he's working off of data model of recommendations that were not viable well remember liable I mean it was it was this show that led the charge to get the data that he relied on to claim the tens of thousands of Coloradans could die and and then his office responded to a public records request by saying they didn't have a model and then we learned we learned later of a model but then if you really really deeply you'll see that his own scientists said that phase one of the shut down you know may be prevented twelve hundred cases of co Vic in exchange for all of phase one now he tells us today Patty that we will learn within five days how effective face to this massive stay at home order is banned I think the jury's still out on that I think he undercut it by not restricting coal the travelers but Patty thank you for the call hope you call again lines are jammed wanna get everybody and including Linda and brighten your under Dan Kaplan show welcome I Linda what do you think I'm just wondering does president trump know what poses them bringing all these people when he you know and they're not under quarantine you know I'm sure they're aware of it because it scientists understand what when you allow a lot more people in with the virus it undermines the mitigation efforts because I'm just curious and I don't understand why he's doing it and you know how many people are already here that are you know running around and when did they show what in terms of the travellers yeah a and I continued to correspond with the I. A. through public records trying to get more specific info but for example we know with this point that that approximately I think the likely numbers much higher when Washington state was in its death spiral you're about twenty twenty five thousand people who traveled here from Washington state VS Seattle king county being the hot bed we know coming out of the New York area including Newark you know we we likely had thirty five to fifty thousand people you know common sense that became America's Wuhan so we know we've had tens of thousands of people coming in here from out of state covert hot spots and can you imagine if if governor Poloz had allowed tens of thousands of people from Wuhan to enter Colorado unchecked medically in on quarantine he would have been impeached in three days eight bodies but he continues to undermine his own state home order I still think you should be you want it's going to thanks let that create the call sorry my mind was in a different chapel at don and four comes up tell you what you're not happen governor Polish should not be reelected that's for darn sure I mean when a governor has made it clear to the people that he's going to put his own national political ambitions ahead of literally protecting the lives of the people during a crisis a virus crisis that's one person who should be governor of the state of Colorado again thank you Linda wanna squeeze everybody and that would include a friend down in fort Collins you're on the Dan Kaplan show welcome thank you for taking my call I was chilled I'm seventy two years old I live up here all calls on a piece of property with my grandkids and my daughter and son in law and I've seen what the shutdowns on both my and my oldest granddaughter was at you and see yeah your first year my other two grand kids were in high school yeah they have been able to go back I will the next could be coming up here for college I talked to a couple weeks ago yeah but I have a five billion you get this thing going again they say that it's us that are elderly that have chronic illnesses such as COPD our problems things like this if he wants to get this state going again most of us that live here I've lived here all my life are more than willing to stay home for over sixty sixty five we have issues with our help and as we get older we all have those problems I think most of us would be more than willing to stay at home get this economy going again before it ruins our kids our grandkids slide him downstairs hold elected everybody else back to work the last dice forward may I know some younger people passed away yeah thank god blessed on sorry for that but we can't keep going like this I'm watching what it's done to my daughter's business yeah my son in law business Tracy Walker Margaret gets out of school my granddaughter having to turn take college courses our freshman year on the internet the teachers aren't up to it the kids are up to look this this this is just ruining us and there's no reason at all that if they use their brain isn't sending anybody over sixty or even sixty four please stay home I don't know what what a beautifully beautifully set my friend and and I thank you for your call I hope we speak again soon I have no doubt that the vast majority of senior citizens in Colorado I agree with you and and would make that sacrifice I can tell you that statistically ninety percent of the desks and Colorado have been people sixty or older let me add this up quickly seventy nine percent have been kept in seventy or older seventy nine percent of the gas Jr poses office not releasing information regarding underlying conditions what percentage of people have these other you know what morbidity so in any case he one thing I I would like to do when I'm trying to indeed show this way for a while is is just to again play that sound if you've heard it you probably want to hear it again if you haven't heard it you need to of undersecretary the great Italian singer singing in front of the grand cathedral in Milan totally empty on Easter Sunday because of cold it's such a powerful song of of hope in a reminder of where the real power is in is not your Polish so when would you roll that and then we'll wrap it afterward Hey is Hong we're in the US the ex Hey it's long news schools this no and I'm we I was a and we the.

"Two five five jump in anytime toll free border to border in the great state of Colorado thank you for being on the Dan Kaplan show today thank you to senator Gardner we take his interview earlier today which is a darn shame because there's some breaking news right now that I would love to be able to talk to me about but nobody's fault it just developed by the time of our interview this morning so reports out this afternoon that I run into listen this has not been confirmed but the best evidence right now is that the people behind these attacks on the gardener campaign time Gardner himself the cyber attacks are linked to Iran though there is not positive confirmation of that yet that's what the indicators are so it looks like there's a pretty good chance that Iran is helping the Hickenlooper campaign and so how rich is that after this this coup attempt against trump you know what chicken Lubrizol for remember and believe me there is so much we know at the national Press doesn't focus on about John Hickenlooper and you're going to be reminded of it all during this campaign but remember John Hickenlooper voted against Coloradan Neil Gorsuch and listen if we are to mount Rushmore let's see the flatter insisted we took the flat irons we did our own mount Rushmore it would really set up very nicely for that and we were to take an equal number of people from you know both political parties store or unaffiliated Democrat Republican and just put him up on the finer and Neil Gorsuch would be one of those people because he's he's a Coloradans resented these great heights he represents all that's good about Colorado John Hickenlooper who wants to be your United States senator opposed opposed Neil Gorsuch for the U. S. Supreme Court and part of the reason he gave was claiming that Hey we don't even know Donald trump's illegitimate president because of Russia so he can look all in on this Russia hoax all in on the coup attempt and so how rich now that indicators are run has been helping the Hickenlooper campaign bye same thing they accused the Russians of doing to help trump which is never in any way shape perform link to trump and that's the point I'm leading to you know all of this all of this was aimed to take down Cory Gardner so at this point I mean you'll be great to hear from the Hickenlooper campaign since since they they took the position Donald trump should be impeached he should not be in office you know dead Donald Trump guilty of collusion with Russia is is Hickenlooper fan responsible for around helping the Hickenlooper campaign which these preliminary reports indicate I mean we know what this point that there had been these cyber attacks on Gardner which to the Denver post credit they detail in a Justin winger piece that just broke so how about if you can look for how can you do anything at this point other than accept full responsibility for around trying to help your campaign that's what you laid on trump you wanted to deny Neil Gorsuch a U. S. Supreme Court seat because of that yeah the real John Hickenlooper not such a pretty picture but anyway that other breaking news coming down we'll keep you posted as we get more on that again it is not at this point conclusively linked to around but that's what the preliminary indicators are so and it would not be surprising because as the post piece notes Gardner are you a Republican is a frequent critic of Iranian leaders he opposed a former president Barack Obama's nuclear deal with Iran and supported the killing of Qasim Soleimani so anyway how rich around helping the Hickenlooper campaign according to these preliminary reports eight five five four zero five eight two five five the number four we have a lot of ground to cover don't we and die I do that with senator Gardner in the interview that we're going to err at five ten and in that interview we talk about corona and the response and how the left is trying to use this as a political weapon which I happen to think is back firing on them would love your take on that so we'll open up the lines eight five five four zero five eight two five five that number is the effort to take down the president politically with the corona virus working for the left or is it gonna backfire and I'll tell you about the Diana DeGette development and did not that she carries any weight but I think it's indicative of the campaign the dams of launch but interesting to hear some of that sound right now some key Democrats who are R. G. as in vero went anti Trumpers not willing to go there which I think confirms my point that this is going to backfire on them what heading up all of that and we got into this conversation a bit yesterday you know does the left nice separate that from Democrats is the left hoping for corona catastrophe in America because they believe it will help them in the election don junior doesn't shy away from anything you took that head on seen this play out for four years anything that they can use.
