"Morning. This is Dan Hicks from freeze otas, weather with the early morning. Egg weather updates on the RFID radio network for this Friday morning. Daytime highs in the eighties, low nineties common across the midwest yesterday. There were a few scattered thunderstorms across the northern part of the midwest, and also in the Ohio valley here in Illinois. A few spotty thunderstorms occurred in the far southern and far northern part of the state quite a bit of the region. Head dry weather, the past twenty four hours best chances for thunderstorms. The next few days will be from the far southern part of the midwest southward and across the northern midwest into areas in the far northern part of the country. It does look like rainfall over a large part of Illinois will be fairly spotty the next two or three days, MC, humid summer, like conditions are expected across the midwest through the weekend into Monday with highs in the mid eighties to mid nineties, common, and do point temperatures in the low to mid seventies, a cool front will start to work its way slowly south. Southward farther into the midwest early to mid next week. This will bring increasing chances for some scattered showers and thunderstorms, gradually spreading from north to south next week, six ten day rainfall amounts will eventually likely everage near to above normal across the midwest as he's increasing chances for thunderstorms continue into the six to ten day timeframe, some slight cooling, will make a return to the midwest by mid to late next week. But it does look like six to ten day temperatures will average above normal across most of the region. Looking further ahead into the eleven to fifteen day timeframe, it does look like the jet stream will continue to lower somewhat to the south allowing some cooler conditions spread farther into the midwest. Eleven to fifteen day temperatures should average near normal across most of the region with warmest weather being pushed off to the south and southeast right now. It looks like eleven to fifteen day rainfall amounts, and most of the midwest will average fairly close to normal. Once again, this is Dan Hicks. From freeze Otis weather on the RFID Radio Net. Work. "I'm Jim Taylor for the R F T radio network. Good morning. This is Dan Hicks from free sodas weather with the early morning weather update on the RFID radio network for this Friday morning temperatures yesterday. We're well below normal across nearly all the mid west with daytime highs only in the sixties and seventies common across much of the region. Some additional rain fell on Thursday from parts of eastern, Illinois eastward. The system is now moved out of the far eastern mid west dry weather is forecast over Illinois today, with improving drying conditions during the late morning afternoon. Should be a few degrees, warmer today with highs in the seventies and low eighties under partly sunny skies. No long. Periods of dry weather are against seeing though over the next one to two weeks across the state. A new system. We'll start to produce some showers and thunderstorms in the western midwest today, and that system will bring some showers and thunderstorms back across Illinois starting in some far western areas late today, but over most of the state this next rain chance will start tonight into. Saturday unsettled weather pattern is expected across the region later this weekend into early next week as a stalled frontal system will stretch across the midwest for several days off, and on chances for showers and thunderstorms are forecast over the region during much of this time period rainfall amounts here in Illinois, for tonight through the early part of next week in the half inch to inch and a half range are likely in most areas, this active weather pattern continuing into the six ten day, timeframe will likely result in near to above normal, six to ten day precipitation across much of the midwest. Lightest amounts may tend to favor some far northern areas, six to ten day, temperatures here in Illinois should average near to slightly below normal. Coolest weather will be to the north and west of Illinois with warmest weather to the southeast right now. It looks like least normal precipitation across much of the area. Looking head further into eleven to fifteen day timeframe, what's again, this is, Dan Hicks from freeze, notice weather on the RFID radio network..

"This is Dan Hicks from freeze out a sweater with the early morning. Egg weather update on the RFID radio network for this Thursday morning. Daytime highs in the upper sixties to around eighty degrees, common across much of the midwest yesterday, including most of Illinois cool front moving eastward across the region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms to a large part of the midwest. The past twenty four hours rainfall amounts of tenth of an inch up to around a half an inch fairly common with a few locally, heavier amounts, reported a few showers will linger in some far eastern parts of Illinois early today. This system should move onto the east with drier trend expected over the state today into Friday. Improving drying conditions. Our forecast again this afternoon. And again on Friday as high pressure over the region brings some sunshine, low humidity and some afternoon wind. The weather pattern does look active though as we move into this weekend next week. The next weather system will start to produce a few showers in the western midwest on Friday. And rain and thunderstorms chances will increase across the midwest this weekend. It does look like there will be several chances for shower thunderstorm activity across Illinois and surrounding areas off and on into next week, five day rainfall amounts in the half inch to inch and a half range will likely be fairly common across the region this weekend into the first part of next week. And it still looks like six to ten day rainfall amounts will everage near to above normal across much of the region, some northern areas of the midwest may have lighter six to ten day rainfall with a few locations reporting below normal amounts. This active weather pattern will continue into the eleven to fifteen day timeframe with most rainfall staying near to above normal six to ten day temperatures will average near to slightly below.

"This is Dan Hicks from free sodas weather with you early morning weather update on the RFID radio network for this Friday morning. Daytime highs in the seventies and eighties where again, common across most of the midwest yesterday with a few spots reaching ninety degrees. Once again, a large part of the northern central midwest did not have any significant rain, the past twenty four hours. There was greater coverage of some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the southern midwest, including a few areas of southern Illinois. Most locations, though, did not report major rainfall amounts. Similar days expected over the area today with large part of the midwest. Having dry weather, there will be some scattered showers and thunderstorms developing, though, once again in the, the southern third of the region, including the southern third of Illinois, especially this afternoon into the seething these thunderstorm chances will advance a little farther north over the southern half of Illinois on Saturday, while areas farther to the north. Stay mainly dry. A new weather system. Moving in from the northwest will bring chances. For showers thunderstorms to a larger part of the midwest during the second half of the weekend into Monday. It looks like total rainfall amounts through Sunday night in early Monday in the quarter to one inch range. We'll be fairly common across much of Illinois that will be the potential for few heavier amounts in the far south and southeast possibly a few lighter amounts in northwest, Illinois.

"Morning. This is Dan Hicks from freeze, not as weather with the early morning anger updates on the RFID radio network for this Monday morning. Cool front moving southward across the midwest did produce some scattered showers and thunderstorms over the weekend coverage of major rainfall here in Illinois was somewhat scattered with many areas reporting only light amounts. Daytime highs over the weekend, we're in the seventies and eighties during the past twenty four hours or so. Most of Illinois has been dry and dry weather will continue across the region today as high pressure, dominates the weather across all the central and eastern midwest. Drying conditions across the state should be good today with sunshine, low humidity and some wind during the afternoon hours. The weather pattern will start to become more active over the western midwest during the next twenty four hours and more active weather is forecast over the entire Egion, then tomorrow through the end of the week with more frequent shower and thunderstorm activity returning to the midwest and dryer time becoming. More limited. Daytime highs in the seventies and eighties will become an across the midwest much of this week right now. "Radio network. Good morning. This is Dan Hicks from freeze, notice weather with early morning. Whether updates on the RFID radio network for this Thursday morning, let's again, during the past twenty four hours, the active weather pattern, produced showers and thunderstorms across the midwest. Some of these thunderstorms were severe with some tornadoes, large hail, damaging winds pockets of heavy rainfall once again occurred from some of these thunderstorms in a few parts of Illinois and surrounding states. Daytime highs in the seventies and eighties were coming on Wednesday afternoon. Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms will gradually diminish over Illinois this morning, and then the potential for some scattered thunderstorms, redeveloping will occur over the region this afternoon. The seasoning this current weather system will finally move onto the southeast on Friday with drier weather across more of the midwest. Daytime highs in the seventies and eighties will continue across Illinois today into Friday. Another weather system will bring some scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region over the weekend. The overall pattern after that, though, into next week should favor less rainfall across much of the midwest and less potential for heavy rainfall. When rain chances do occur. High pressure building in from the north could bring to three days of dry weather early to mid next week, and then additional rain chances return during the six ten day timeframe, but again, most rainfall amounts should not be heavy six to ten day. Rainfall will likely average near to below normal in the northern half of the midwest.

"A happy home we can get together for one little podcast because zone. Arizona state thing is a bit more. The golf channel NBC ESPN. In fact, you know, I love ESPN because they've put half my, you know, half my girls. What I mean? I'm going there this. Yeah. This love doesn't doesn't stay far. But Dan, one of the storylines going into this week is the players returning to March for the first time since two thousand six you've been a part of the coverage. I'm curious from your perspective, where do you see this tournament differing now coming back to March for the first time at about thirteen years? Well, you know, a bit around long enough Matt where I've done both and did many many years when it was in March. Of course, the last time it was in this month was in two thousand six so we did several of them this time of year. And I love it. I love the move for a couple of reasons a lot of a lot of people are not talking about getting away from mother's day. I think that's a big deal. I'll never forget. When it moved to that that may date that it just, you know, it's such a great championship. I didn't think it had the vibe that it needed on Sunday mother's day's an important day big day in my house. Let me tell you I'm on the road. So that's that's. No that doesn't help. I liked the fact that I'll be home for mother's day down the road. But seriously, the golf course was designed and everybody will tell you that it's designed to be played in this month. The oversee is great it becomes I think more of a true test in the way, Pete and Alice dye wanted it to be so I look forward to we could get a couple of nasty days could be a couple of blustery days. But just looking at the forecast it's going to be perfect. I think we're going to get a nice little entree here. Thursday and Friday, warm weather, and then a little fronts coming through that could have some very interesting wind coming across seventeen and eighteen which is going to live in the place up. Yes, sir. There's nothing better than the seventeenth hole with a cross win because of how it swirls down there. And there are times when that wind if it's coming across the eighteenth t that's into off the left and so for right handed player that likes to play. A cut if that pins on the left hand side, you have to start it over the water. And if that pins on the right hand side, and you started at the middle of the green and the wind catches a little bit. And it's the opposite. If you're playing draw now how much into the windy playing it. How hard they I was telling earlier the one thing that you that does drive me nuts. His when the old old school guys are like, you know, begging today hit a six hundred in there and nobody's hitting the six hundred this year. Yeah. Not with the equipment that we play now because these guys can flight that ball has less spin it goes through the wind better. But the exiled that those guys are going to be feeling standing on that tee still the same. I was gonna say Matt, you know, I think we made the wrong decision bringing Paul as ING into the booth. Instead of Michael Collins here beat me to it. I mean that was especially one tasty deep piece of analysis right there. But you're right. You're absolutely right. It's gonna bring so much more. Unto play on a golf hole that was difficult to begin with. But with this wind doing exactly what you're saying. In whole locations back on eighteen it's going to bring a whole nother piece of spicy this to this this thing, and I think and that's sixteen as well. Six. Let's not forget about that. You know, one of the great risk reward par fives in the world. Those last three holes are going to be a roller coaster ride where you're going to see a lot more change than even you have in the past the one thing I ask you about sixteen though is because of how long this course is gonna play. Don't you think less guys are going to go for that green now? Yeah..

"They won't get the greens ridiculously fast. They won't be able to be fast enough and firm enough. How's the feeling out there? Gimme gimme the sense from being on the ground for the past couple of days with Mike players and patrons. I mean, what's the feeling out there being in this being in this month for the first time in thirteen years? Everyone think the course it self looks spectacular that about the grass looked better it, it's a different color green because they oversee did everything so hard it just end it all took it all came in really lush so on television. This course is gonna look like a Gusta because it's that color green, right? As far as the field goes field. There's only twenty three guys in the field that have played this tournament in both may and March and only two of one at Adam Scott Tiger Woods yet, which means on hundred and twenty. One guy's is field of one forty four one hundred twenty one guys had only played while the guys who played here before are seeing this golf course going, whoa. Yup. This is a big. Not not big as in long. But a big boys golf course out. This is it's a it is a major championship venue and guys realized that it's going to take a. A game type performance for the week to win. And because of that everyone's really excited, and yeah. And it's a stern in that kind of gets back to my point from earlier is we're giving were throw in these guys a major championship type test pre major championship. And I love that. Yeah. I mean, it's it's just a cool. It's a cool vibe. But you know, what they had the feeling around the golf course of a major championship venue was the exact same when it was played. In may the only different was we had already played the master. Right. So because we already had one major in the books. It was like, okay, we got one major books. And now this is like a tune-up of the US open because it may it was I okay? This rough even though it's wispy Bermuda is if you get in it, it is brutal. Where I think this rough now with the oversee to RAI it's it's a little more predictable. You're not gonna get nearly as many flyers out of this rough as you did out a wispy Bermuda in may. Yeah. And that intimate that'll be one of the big indicators watching this tournament over the next four days. Just the change, in course management with these guys. It's gonna be fun to watch one of them. You brought up tiger. And Adam Scott, the only two that have won the tournament March that are in the field..

We'll and what we're going to get an idea his Andy north, and I talked about this on sportscenter on Sunday. And it's kind of been one of the conversations we've had going in. North has old guy syndrome, though, when it comes to this every all the old guys are so happy it's back to March. You know, why? Because they all love saying, you know, back when I played I had a five hundred seventeen what's wrong with that you play when you played your Senate on a lot of balls. Yes. And his presser he knows what's gonna five and six hundred seventeen because the same thing that's back when he was playing a round blotto ball. You know, what no one's going to do this week? Even if it's blowing thirty miles an hour. No one's hitting the six hundred seventeen you know, why? Because the equipment won't allow it. That's fine. But I think the players was out of place in may. No, it was not out of place in may. Because what other major championship was played in me. Well, they've changed. There's one every month mayors that thing guess what's going on right now the NCAA's, well, it's it's conference tournament week the NCAA's aren't right. Nobody hears about that. Right. Car was tournaments as ESPN guy say yes, everybody cares about the conference. But in the grand scheme of things. No, let me ask you this. All right. Do you believe that people who watch both basketball and golf will switch off a basketball to watch golf now? Yes. No. Yes. No, this you know, what this wasn't done for the basketball crowd. It was done for the football crowd August. But you know, what? There was no football crowd in may. So I don't sorry. You're not you ain't getting me on. I love how staunch you are in this may the players thing. I think this is absolutely perfect for golf because you needed to have. I was sick and tired of semi big tournament semi big tournament..

"He doesn't he might not win a lot. But he does he plays. Good enough. Where he like I said he's just checking off top top-five who get third second third fifth fourth like, but peak powers if it was him against Jordan, speak just in a his best Jordan his best. I'll take Jordan. Justin by three strokes on Jordan. Nah, Justin, doesn't just in his best doesn't put like Jordan. His best Jordan ball striking wins. Justin Rose is one of the primitive ball-strikers on the planet. Yeah. He might be. But you can hit the balls of good as you want to. But if you can't put it in the whole from twelve feet or make a twenty foot or to save par dead center. Perfect speed. And that's when Jordan is at his. His when he was at the peak his powers that do put like tiger used to. Yeah. I know, but jetty we haven't seen that forever. That will but seen that we're saying that height of their power. But when I'm telling you is that we've seen more of the bad space than we have the Goodspeed. He had a run that he had that rose was at fourteen or fifteen fingers fort was fifteen at the fourteen either way he had that remarkable run when he was one of the major championships us finish in every was winning. He won the US for every single one. Right. And that was a run septa PG. And then when the open championship last year, he found his way back into the major championship but with him with Jordan. He he goes wheels off quicker than any top golfer in the world. I think current, but he also used to be able to the wheels back on faster nearby few. Remember like slumped? He went through right before he won at Hartford holding out from that bunker, like he was he had come into that week kinda in a bad way. Like he hadn't been playing all that great have been real frustrating stuff. He just you know, he's one of those guys that he's open schools. He's old soul offer where he's still shows a lot of emotion and stuff, which I love, you know, I don't understand why you know, what it is. Because he doesn't curse like even though he shows emotion talks to the ball gets real animated stuff. Like that. You never hear them like dropping f bombs on a golf course. And I he gets pretty animated. He he gets anima. We had golf course. What? No, no. I'm saying. Like he knows when the cameras and microphones he sat. Oh, yeah. He's very Selamat. Let me ask you this. Because we've kind of I don't know how we've gotten into a Jordan to beat discussion. But we have. I don't know how much do you study the official world golf rankings? Okay. I don't because I don't believe that. They're right. All right. So if you had to guess, what would you guess your speeches ranked right now, he probably be just outside the top twenty years twenty fifth. Yes. E the wound rankings right now, Dustin Johnson one Justin Rose to Brooks KEPCO three. Justin Thomas four. You know, who you know, you know, let's move on from Bay Hill. Francesco Molinari got the win because we are currently to play right there. I had a nice little toast would Ana Palmer. Yeah. We also would he don't be mad. You know? We saw your social media not the one that you a can. But what Arnie's used to drink their Bay Hill? Francesco Molinari a ball striking fool when he hits. Hake. What's he is? He what's he five seven. Yeah. No, he's probably he's taller in person any looks. He's kinda working on that, catty gut. He's definitely got a dad Bod. This lady so much. I disagree. A boy Pat Perez try to his working out first time, four months just and hurt himself. Stretching your after he was doing these presses and stuff. It was terrible feel bad for he's probably out. Find out today's got an MRI on his cap. Apparently, he's got a grade to tear of the calf. What about the achilles?.

"Jordan speed was gonna part of the tour championship, so he's gotten arrested. But most of these guys, the majority of the guys that you saw compete to a championship this week from Europe and US if played a lot of golf and never know, you know what's going to happen over there. Patrick Reid wasn't on his game at the tour championship, but he's a guy that's thrived and in the Ryder Cup atmosphere and tiger, you know, we'll see. You know, it's gonna be really interesting because I think you could throw out the book on form. I think you can throw out the book on on, you know what? What history? What Tigers record is even what fills record, isn't it? Phil Mickelson's record is certainly not stellar, but he's played on more Ryder cups now are will than anybody in the history of the sport. And I just think that the moon and the stars are aligned with everybody that's been playing so well, for the most part and the. In in what both teams are comprised of the stars and the personalities and tiger and Phil back. This is probably gonna be the last time you see tiger and filling the Ryder Cup team. I just don't think that. Yeah, you know, fill is. I think this is spills last run so you know, enjoy it. You know, just like we enjoyed Tigers victory yesterday, you never know how many there's gonna be enjoyed this Ryder Cup because this is going to be pretty special. I think travels Dan. That was great. Listen this weekend. Thanks for joining us. Yeah. Good to hear that. Steve says is still very high up on the all lot. Let's because he's, I think he's a future hall of Famer. I think that he's got that kind of potential. You were always working late yet all the swimming events. You were never. I never saw all lobby bar. I think you know that. I think the all lobby team is you gotta pretty much remember that there's obviously not, you know, enough of a demanding Olympic assignment for for those people that can make the all lobby squads, like Steve sands, we got, you know, you're not going to see Bob Costas or Mike Tariq. Oh, throwing back. He's long at the Olympics are just just Mack. Enjoy those kinds of moments. So Steve sands rise to the occasion again, pal the next Olympics and Tokyo. Okay. If you walked by the bar and you saw Bob Costas their bellied up to the bar, more reason to stop or more reason to keep going. More reason to give my brief lame impersonation of him such as Bob as any way I can perhaps buy you a beer. Or are you thinking break from beer and going pure wine on these particular Olympic Games? Back after this. After this stretch time in Florida. Thank you, Dan, safe travels. Where did this interview go? It went right down the two. I have no idea. Great, great to talk to you and good being in your former town of Atlanta this week. And by the way, tell tell my wife, Hannah that I set a low. I will take care buddy. Thank you, Dan, Dan Hicks. Well, backstory, there had some people who still believe Don Imus thought forever. Radio host thought that Hannah was married to me, technically, never married to you. Never. I don't think not even in like a short ceremony like, you know, Johnny would know what was it. One owner writer and Ken Reeves in a movie. Got married, and then they thought it might hold up or something, but don't who was it? Somebody else who thought that Hannah was my wife Ohana. That's right thoughts. No, I'm kidding. That's worse. Rumors to have a bunch out there. That's true. Yeah, I, he think by the way Hicks has a great gig. These sneaky with all the good jobs he has. He's underrated his Olympic stuff with swimming. He's I think he's ever won the sports EMMY. And I always say that every time I'm at the Olympics when Hicks does swimming, he and rowdy Gaines. I don't know how he. Does it win with golf? You just sort of expect that, but with swimming and the number of swimming events that that energy that ability all those Michael Phelps, racist. I thought Hicks was unbelievable with that. Really. I mean, I don't want to give up my sports Emmys for Hicks to win one. But if he would happen to win one in a year, I'm not nominated..
