Last call for phone calls, what we learned what's in store tomorrow, this day in sports history, college football coming up tonight, you know, I love a good Tuesday night, Mac gamer two. Big slight Dan, Bowling Green versus Toledo. That's a big one. It is. And Bowling Green four and two in the Mac, Toledo 5 and one in the Mac, Toledo could take the lead, but you're Ohio squad. It's 5 and one in the Mac. They're at ball state. Line is 57, Ohio is 5 and one in the Mac ball state three and three and also college basketball tonight. Big slate, Kentucky at Michigan state. I see that's the neutral site. That's in Indianapolis. Winthrop auburn, buffalo, Yukon, Gardner Webb, both of them at North Carolina. San Diego state Stanford duke versus Kansas also an indie bam over Kansas Bill self the self imposed four game suspension. Yes, he will not be present. Alabama at south Alabama and Dayton. Dan Dayton's 21st in the country. At UNLV. Late night. That's fun. What country is that? By the way, had a friend of family friend who passed away recently played at Dayton and was one of the first recruits Don Donahue ever had. In fact, Don Donahue at Dayton got him instead of 8 offer up at Kentucky, George janke passed away. My brother's married to his sister. He was a legendary radio executive in Dayton, Ohio, a larger than life personality, a wonderful man, and will be greatly missed. So I'm every Thanksgiving, smiling his face, came into the room. He was, he took over the room. He was 6 8, about 280, maybe even more than that. But everybody loved George janky. All right. This day in sports history, Pauly. Got a few 1901 Ricky pierce to the Seattle SuperSonics. He had a free throw streak of 75 games. Just wanted to mention Ricky pierce.

"Same then the pandemic hits and things go down but in addition to that disney decides. Hey they're going to go down and we're gonna stream it at the same time. I'm not upset that they screamed at the same time but i am upset the fact that they violated the contract and decided. You know. we're just gonna do this anyways. And then their response to it was. We think it's heartless for scarlett johansson to to blame the pandemic when there are people struggling the pandemic and she's already made twenty million on this movie when it's not like they're gonna take this extra money that she would have made that she should have made that she's suing for and give it to widows and orphans right. I mean they're going to keep it for themselves. Why doesn't the whole response to. I think was pathetic But yeah i agree with you. I hope she wins. And i think that i again. I agree with you that it was okay that they went to disney plus release it. That's fine that's kind of the way the market is but at that point. I think they should have met with her and said here's what we're planning on doing. So let's work out some sort of equitable for. She takes even a cut of the disney. Plus yeah he didn't work out an equitable relationship. Exactly yeah yeah come up with some sort of formula you know on the believe. They made eighty dollars in the theaters. And they get half of that so they get forty million out of that. And i'm sure out of that. Forty million is what they paid. Scarlett johansson so you might argue that well you made sixty million on disney plus one hundred percent of it so whatever that percentage was. We're going to give you the same. So we're just gonna say the six million disney plus was like our take of the box office that we're gonna add that to the forty million that we made our half of the ticket sales so the total number there is one hundred million dollars. Here's your cut. I think she probably wouldn't have had an issue with that. I don't know for sure but at least that's a little bit more. I think fair than just saying up. Sorry you said Gross ticket sales. And this is what we have. I think actors going forward are now going to put disciple stuff in their contract. And this is what we alluded to last week when we said these deals are going to change in the future. They're not gonna make the same money that they made but It's is going to be based on a different metric and is going to be a combination of ticket sales and streaming. They just need to get the contracts going forward ironed out. And i think they will. She was caught in the middle and what disney did in. My opinion was not right. The interesting thing on this is had they done that. And i don't know what the full details were and how they tried to renegotiate the contract to make it so they could you know. Go day and date on streaming. But had they gone to her and said hey. We want to go. Dan dayton streaming. We know your contract says it has to be released. And she said no you can't does disney have any sort of recourse where they're like this movie. It's our content. Were distributing it that they can override her no. She can't have ultimate veto authority on the entire movie like that. It would impact everybody. Who was involved in it. So at some point disney had to pull some sort of shenanigans that said this is our content. We can do what we want with it even though she has this other contract and you know so even if she said no there they just went forward with it. But yeah she. She probably did in fact if they went and talked to she probably said no. I want to just take my chances in the box office. Let's see how well it does. Then they released a streaming. She said well that killed my box office and and rightfully so. That's a good point that you bring up. She's not the only person she got executive producer. Credits i guess she has a saying it. But the as you know there's a whole bunch of executive producers and They even answer to the studios so her input was just part of that input but the difference is they gave her nothing so even if she said no and they said. Here's what we're doing. Here's what you're going to get. And now she made. They may have made that offer and she said no because she wanted to sue them. So there is details that we need to Made available to us which we're not gonna get until this is all said and done but on the surface of it. This is how it looks to us. If you've got more information on it or other things please let us know i You know. I'm being really hard on disney but You know maybe there was something that Scarlett johansson was difficult to deal with. I don't know but it just seems like he got scarlett johansson against as big huge company on usually gonna lean on the big huge companies taking advantage of scarlett johansson. Yeah on one hand. You're like she got twenty million. How how is that not enough but on the other hand it's like why would disney deserve that money instead of her. You know it doesn't make any sense but it doesn't matter but i agree. It doesn't matter the amount of fantasy because you get you get what you deserve an earn and if that was the deal. That's what you get so whether it was a lot or not. Yeah i don't care about now. I think that her number her fifty million number that she's suing for is probably inflated. And that's probably a number assuming that the the box office would have been what it was pre pandemic and i don't think she's should be entitled to you know estimates based on pre pandemic. I don't know i could be wrong with that. Maybe she adjusted her number based on post pandemic predictions but if her number was based on pose a pre pandemic. There's no way the box office was ever gonna hit that so like you're saying going forward Actors who have the ability to get kinda the back in deals are going to have to restructure them. They'll still the same upfront money right. I don't think that'll change it all. But if they have the ability to get the back. End deals are going to have to restructure it if they want him to match the back end deals that they were getting before when the box office was massive. Yeah anyway it's a whole new world out there for movies and we'll have to wait and see that by just personally..
