"John dixon discussing the chiefs this week. What happened after the thirty six to thirty five loss to the baltimore ravens on sunday night. Football and right. Now we're going to get into andy. Reed's monday afternoon. Press conference on zoom. He's been doing it on zoomed this year. We had an opportunity to have a nice conversation with byron pringle touchdown in this game that is available for your bonus arrowhead pride interview series again right now on the arrowhead pride podcast network but one thing we didn't get into with the snap counts and it's relevant because andy. Reid had some comments on. This is the idea that now. Tyrod matthews back in the lineup. So it's one less safety position. Daniel sorensen got those reps over one thornhill. Who had a nice end to his cleveland. Browns game with just eleven plays for thornhill of the defensive players. He had the least amount of playing time. Here was andy. Reid on one thornhill and dan sorenson one and dan i they do certain things the same and a couple of things different but it okay at equals out. So i'm dan relieves head. You know he'd had the better camp and so on so Maybe a little bit more consistency there but we love. We love lawn and where he's coming. What were getting himself back to where he was and is rookie year and I wanna take anything away from the effort that he's put forward to do that but and they they all get a chance to play so i think Just they step by step here and you can't have enough those as they can play. So you have andy reid really zoning in on the consistency during training camp and it's very interesting because we saw thornhill and he got a ton of wraps during training camp and the preseason so much so that he was on with the second team at times with the first team also on the third team and you almost got the sense from a team standpoint that they were just trying to find a way for him to show them that he was ready to be back in the lineup and in week one he had to be in the lineup out of necessity. The chiefs were down a safety. Their their best defensive player as a lot of people would say so. We had to play struggled in the first half. And then i typed out a thousand words so a thousand reasons for him to play more in this game and the chiefs did it lists and they don't read our pride dot com. I guess because sort of pseudo bench. For a dan sorenson. And what's tough about. This is now you go to. The numbers in there are time. That sorenson didn't look great. Pf hatem at four missed tackles and you have thornhill with some of these pseudo sub tweet type of deal and it really has become the topic this week in kansas city. It's kind of taken on a life of its own and you really wonder is maybe thornhill. Go get an additional opportunity. I guess we'll have to just see what happens on that front. John yeah I think there's a couple of things about this Read talked about the consistency. I also think they believe sorenson is very smart has a high football iq I think that's part of the reason I know that doesn't wash with a lot of chiefs fans. They think that the best athletes should be on the field. I understand that But i think we always have to remember that spagnolo runs a defence. A thinking. man's defense if you wanna call it that And i and i that sometimes means you've got players on the field who were less athletic than other players. But it's hard to know what the result would be if the smarter guys were on the bench So that that's a. That's something. I think we need to remember as we watch this. That that coaches may look at it differently than we do. Sitting on the on the in the press box or in the stands are in front of our. Tv's i also think it's important to note that In week one when thornhill assumed matthews role as the starting safety Armani wants played on defense Which he does only rarely any had twenty three percents of the snaps Against cleveland against the ravens. Thornhill had fourteen percents of the snaps. Now that's less than watts. Did in week one. But i think that's because the chiefs when they went to multiple additional defensive backs in their formations. The numbers show that they tended to go towards cornerbacks instead of safeties in this particular game. So you know it's not that thornhill You know got a low number. Because they don't believe in he got a low because the third safety gets a low number right. I think the problem chiefs fans have right now is that he shouldn't be the third safety should be empty. And that's a solid argument. I don't you know. I'm not saying that's wrong so i just i mean you had a player that that was coming off of that game against the browns. Where if he doesn't force that fumble. You don't win the game and maybe your own to and if he doesn't have that ourika maybe it's it's very different. And i i don't know i just tend to think that you try to reward plays like that. I think we can all agree that who who has the more upside as far as a player period to me it is clearly thornhill higher ceiling in a sense now. Sorenson has found a way to stick around for seven eight years now as an undrafted free agent because of the film work that he does. And it is that athleticism vs smarts Chart that you have there. What's tough about this stuff about this argument. And i and i. I feel fans because i tend to agree in this sense. I'm not always always hopping on the the group thing. The group chaos and madness. I just tend to think that the thornhill replacement over sorenson given the missed tackles would've maybe been worth two points. Which is one of the chiefs would have taken. I also feel that way about willie gay. For example i think the chiefs missed willie gay so much in this game plan just getting gashed with the run. Even less about lamar decks though. I think that gay actually can chase down. Lamar jackson some of these running backs willie gay on. The field is not going to get diced up by tyson williams and latavius murray and a handful of plays that devante freeman saw. I i think that that was not something that she's were prepared for. Not being without gay and it really hurt them in this game. I think this is something to watch for the chargers game. And i also think it's something to listen to on thursday when steve spagnolo was but at the podium. Because andy reid. And steve spagnolo operate a little bit differently when it comes to the media. We've learned that very early on here. Yeah we're a special yesterday. I think we just heard andy reid discussing this. And he's touching upon a little bit but not really going into deepened. Clearly as saying that for one reason or another bay felt. Dan was the better option. I mean not as clear in the numbers. I wonder if we'll get a little bit. More clarity from steve spagnuola. Because you know almost without a doubt this is gonna be the initial question about the second question to him On thursday..

Whereas thornhill dan sorenson was involved on nearly every single play. And that's not a good thing. The road defense was supposed to be much. Improved was clearly a much improved offense align you spend all of his capital. You bring all these new players in you get absolute zero zero. Push in the run game. Which don't get me started there but this was just this was twenty. What eighteen all over again. You rely on mahomes you expect them to bail you out time and time again. He has to be completely perfect. He's not just one hundred percent perfect. This is what happens. Yeah and you know what. That's i saw some people on twitter and they were like. Oh you know the chance to put it away and they blew it and while that might be true. I mean get outta here. Man like offense should not have to score on every fucking play for the chiefs to win like they should score. Every time they get the ball they go on the road. They put up over thirty points. Mave them what about you. Actually you let him perfectly. You see people who cover and follow. The chiefs are like well you know when they were up thirty five twenty four then a chance to put away the doing so again that you know what like gas wells for the chance of stop the ravens the entire game and just let him go down the field over and over and over. "If mccoll hartman was like a fifth or sixth round receiver and you were getting this production. Like marcus robinson. I don't know if you would feel as as badly about it but that to me is is what you're getting out of him. It's the career of a fourth or fifth round receiver That has managed to stick. And i think if you change the lens of how. You're looking at mccoll hardman. Maybe you start to feel better about it. But i think you're right. I think we need to throw out this idea that he's going to be some kind of Largely impactful player in the chiefs offense. You talk about the second receiver on this team. I think it's a second receiver by committee. I think it's going to be the hot hand. And i think it's time for pringle to get more of an opportunity. I think he should be in that spot. He took off tonight. I think that stood out. I i i think. Now you've seen it in a regular season game where what was different about that play tonight is he did something that maybe other receivers can't do in the sense of where he wasn't that play and managing to really turn on the jets and and get in the end zone and maybe this finally gets on the radar of the chiefs and he gets more opportunities. hiring pringle to targets to receptions for sixty three yards and the touchdown Nicole hardman had three more receptions but eight less yards in this game. only The five receptions on the targets so yeah. I i think it's time pringle pringle gets an opportunity. Why not I don't think it's going to be happening for hardman. And i think there's a case to be made that he is potentially a better option and if that's the case then let's see him a little bit more involved on a consistent basis. Yeah i mean that's all that's really all i want. That's all the chiefs in need in that other. Wide receiver is consistency. And when sammy watkins was on the field he could at least supply that for you. Because you knew sammy. Watkins would be where he supposed to be a new. He could make a play every now and that's all they really need. They don't need somebody who's gonna do weaken and week out. They just need it in clutch moments. And i think byron pringle at this point can supply that In a safer way that. I feel like nicole. Hardman can I do wanna get back to the defense really quick. I just threw two weeks now. I'm questioning the adjustments. That they're making or whatever and i know there's you know how much can you really do in game or whatever. But they're struggling across the board right now and obviously. Last week chris jones came up with the snacks that were huge later in the game. But this week that type of stuff didn't happen and now we're continuing to have serious secondary questions. Where i know dan sorenson got the sack and he made a couple of plays late in the game but early in that game. Dan was ally ability for the chiefs. Thornhill still isn't heavily involved in the rotation right now. And i'm just curious like i just want to know what it's gonna take to get one thornhill out there because we've talked about it a lot. He's shown flashes of the athleticism that you just don't get with dan sorenson and i have to imagine if you just let him out there and let him work and get the reps that whatever the question marks are we can figure it out on the fly because it can't be worse to what we're getting right now right now. It's it's all. It's all good points. And i think there's a few people who you know your name and people that in the defense who were just like not hearing about an and they're just not making as much of an impact. Maybe we expected jarran reed. Jarran reed is a you know. It's a player that andy really through in front of us and said we should be talking about sharon reed. I think chris jones we had mentioned jones for more of a like i was i was saying before. I don't have to get back into that conversation but taking that next step to an elite level. And look i'm not putting that on him. He's put that on himself and how he is depicted himself in the media. And i love that. I love that but i think if you're gonna try to consider yourself this elite player who is going to be threatening for the sack record which i am rooting for. This was my bold prediction. Just gotta do more. You gotta be more impactful on sundays. Frank clark has been invisible. I'm seeing on twitter. That he's speaking to the media tonight so we will see what he says And you're right about the the safety play and the play in the secondary i. I just think there's a lot to clean up. And i think what they do next week in a home game now. It's a division game against the los angeles chargers will tell you a lot about who the kansas city chiefs are in. Can they rebound and look a lot better because to me. It doesn't get any easier. I subscribe to the idea that justin herbert is a better quarterback than lamar jackson. I think these guys are both top ten quarterbacks. But i just like justin herbert better to me. He reminds me. More of patrick mahomes. Thin lamar jackson does and to me. Patrick mahomes is the perfect quarterback to have for your football team. So this defense is gonna have to figure this out quick or sudden you might be facing Some some territory facing on a long time. And that's a loss to a division rival and then all of a sudden you're you're behind in the afc west. this has not been a place to chiefs. Have been at an awhile where their backs are. I know it's early. But they're back really going to be up against the wall. And they gotta they gotta figure this out really fast just in. Herbert and my opinion is the second best quarterback or seconds quarterback. I would want in the nfl quarterback franchise. Outside of patrick mahomes. he's an exceptional player. And we're going to see how that unfolds next week and there's definitely reasons to be concerned about it after two games..

"Right. you know. Dan sorenson might be one of the best defensive players on the giants so it comes in waves. Dan sorenson has always been a weird case. 'cause fans if either thought he was way up here like he was just as phenomenal safety always clutch right player right time and other fans always thought that he was horrible and not not fast enough. Couldn't guard people constantly getting burnt. When i think he's just he is what he is. He's a very good backup if he's starting you're like okay. Maybe not our first choice. But he's fine. You know been neiman kind of the same way i you know. I don't think benjamin by any means a some study. i don't think he is but he's also not this horrible player. he's okay. He's one of those guys that you need because not everyone on your roster is going to be approval not everyone's going to be able to get paid ten million dollars to be aback. Bidding wouldn't be starting right now. If gay junior wasn't hurt so no i. I think we do need to have some more appreciation for some his unsung guys who are thrust into these roles that otherwise they wouldn't be an even dan sorenson probably wouldn't play as much if one tornado wasn't coming back from injury. I mean these are all aspects are tasked with jobs that they originally their contracts were set up to be totally till yeah. I'm i'm until agreement with you. You wanna keep teams on their toes and all this but my understanding was with this new oftens of line. You sunk a lot of money. A lot of draft capital. Because i guess the money that i think are twenty six an actual cap for the offense alania the actual dollars since a lot. Because you have three rookies on the line. Right and there's going to be a contract renegotiation hopefully with orlando brown junior. So i get it. But he spent a lot of capital on this offense align use them trust them or at least let mahomes do what mahomes does. Don't do this little shovel. Triple option thing to mike. Let's talk about that defense You know look we're missing. Matthew were missing. Frank clark willygate juniors going to be out for three games. Are you giving them a hall pass and saying hey look we're good. We one guy's missing. Who cares or are you concerned by what you saw. Four fifty of sixty minutes on sunday afternoon slightly concerned but also if they show up when it matters. That's what you want anyways. They showed up when it matters. Chris jones legitimately took over dan. Sorenson huge play allayed. I mean cornerbacks. Huge play late mike us. I think he was worth that. Six round draft pick. I mean nick bold. I think look really solid for most a game for part of the time out there. He looked like the best linebacker on the field. Zoo guy i get it. Maybe my eyes or little bit blinded by that but he looked really good. Seven tackles against two of the most physical running backs in the nfl. He does need to work a little bit on his pass coverage but he wasn't known for that mizzou. What's going gonna take. Time is at a new level as long as he wraps up which he did. I'm happy Lammens was great and special teams. My goodness at each show up one thornhill. That was a tired. Matthew play got his hand in there. Perfect defense no pass. Interference gets his hand. Last-second flies at of schwartz. His hand when it mattered. Most the defense stepped up. I do think we do need to see more pressure on the defense align. I didn't think i heard reads named one time. We had talked about ozzy's and they kept hyping them up. It was a great signing. I'm not gonna write it off after one game but it was a little disappointing. You get a new toy and you don't even hear from him. It was basically chris jones and then what so. If i had a major complaint it would be on the defensive line outside of chris jones. The first half and i just thought that we needed Bear down just a little bit more with our with our young offense line and and give them an opportunity to establish something there and the there was strong and so decided to run football. "I mean. We were texting throughout and i tried to not bug you guys too much about it but you could. I thought the cleveland answered out of the gate. Many questions about who they could be the season. I mean they're first half. They were perfect if they played every half of football. Three straight three straight touchdown drives that i thought marked them as their characteristics are aggressive. They're gonna edgy. They're going to dump the whole playbook to beat who they need to beat in the strategy clearly. Was we know kansas city. Even though they were held at ten points in the first half they will score. And so we can never take our foot off the pedal. But if you're the browns you're not the chiefs and you just cannot let the mistakes start to creep in. And i could feel the game getting away from them bit by bit. It was the uncharacteristic fumble with about two minutes into the third quarter. Okay you have the tyreek hill missed. Define john johnston on that. Seventy five yard touchdown that made it twenty nine. Twenty seven jamie gillan. The browns very reliable punter a year ago botching. The long snap as as arrowhead was going absolutely nuts. I mean the crowd was a huge factor. And then i thought the little tiny moments like the shot. Anthony schwartz the rookie. Who played really well for the browns broken up by one thornhill. Cleveland started to not close drives when myles garrett sacked patrick mahomes though they had a chance there was a moment that just reminded you of last year. And i know this is not. I don't care about the baker mayfield interception but it happened and the drive ended that way. The game ended that way. I thought that baker mayfield. There might have been a little part of him that was trying to throw that ball out of bounds but he got caught up. Dan sorenson grabs foot a little bit. He can answer that question. But it wasn't some sort of under headed ill-equipped quarterback mistake but it was his one poor throw of the entire day. I mean he really was almost perfect outside of a couple little miscues and i thought that overall you can look at the browns and say wait a minute. This team actually for the first time in about twenty years is picking up and building off where they were a year ago. But so are the chiefs and travis kelsey and tyreek hill. Were completely unstoppable. Especially travis kelsey. It reminded me very much of january's game in that sense. No matter who. Cleveland added on defense. I think if you go best who are the best combos of quarterback and receiver and i know he's a titan you know as a pass catcher ever at least in my lifetime i think about montana and rice and then you think about maybe brady and moss in that magical year of two thousand seven i got to put mahomes and kelsey right there and i'm watching the game and i have a soft spot for the browns because of mark so you're rooting for the browns. But i'm thinking to myself god. Jeez i mean imagine being a browns fan of being this close to getting over the hump against a team like this in every time. He tried to get big spot. These guys doing these outrageous. Plays and i know kelsey wasn't as flashy. But he got his big go ahead touchdown but the mahomes. These plays that mahomes makes when he rolled his right. And you mentioned the touchdown when johnson got caught. I guess napping but he gets flushed. All the way to the right falling out of bounds. Seventy five yard touchdown. That's just we've never seen that from a quarterback and that's the type of play that no team could stop not not the browns not anybody. But i guess greg for me. The thing with the browns in terms of they did get the ball back they got the big play for myles garrett but just like last year they've c. title game when they couldn't put together that last drive they couldn't put together the final dry so it's like finishing. That's maybe the last part of this for the browns in terms of being true super bowl contender right. Y- you turn the ball over twice. And i don't even know if that them not being able to get the pun off but i think it does. That is a turnover. You're not gonna. You're not gonna win this game. They had the recipe to do it. They did the whole of the game thing. The this chiefs got drivers in this game. The brown's got nine. And i always say well. That sounds good but you have to. You know don't shorten the time you're gonna lose. The browns are so efficient on offense. It makes more sense for them. Like when you can go touchdown touchdown touchdown. Unfortunately they didn't finish off that long drive in the end of the second quarter then that shortening the game thing works you look at the score thirty three to twenty nine like you would never think each team only had eight or nine possessions. It's crazy and so then it comes down to one play baker mayfield not gonna make the crazy play. Like mahomes did and defensively. I know the chiefs weren't great. But ultimately college safety blitz you get daniel storms than to hit baker. Mayfield on that play. He was trying to throw it out of bounce. I mean there was no question about that. Romo said that mayfield confirmed it. After the game look pretty clear. So i have no reason to doubt baker saying that and that's your ballgame like it. Just you're right about the margin for error because they they essentially played their game by the way without odell beckham the kind of they had faked. Everyone pretty well there. I was wondering and then people sounded so this guy hasn't taken a hit or played full-contact once in practice and everyone seems so confident plane and they had faked. Why wasn't outlaying though. I don't i don't not ready to play. Which is which is a concern. I mean he hasn't fully practice like really practiced one time yet and they're being careful and eat clearly act hundred percent week. Twos the big. It's going to be the big thing to watch with odell. Because he's not playing week to then you start to back a little hitch in this that we didn't know about and they've been keeping under under wraps i. I loved baker in this game mark. So i have him as before safety again. I if you make a good point before we kind of started this position that you know some of these guys play quarter. They might you know. If they feel like a guy like you know the von he has more upside. Potentially i think he could sneak onto the roster instead of an armani watt But yeah what's to me just because again special teams. I think he's he's probably a guy that you know even though you know. It's tough because he doesn't really produce anything defensively but again he. He's kind of a good special teamer so some of those guys tend to make the but he he's kind of up in the air another one of those fringe guys for me. But i have to make the roster will devan key. That's the one i wanted to talk about. Because he started off training camp. Extremely hot. So much buzz around him. It's kind of died off recently. You're thinking is going to be watched over key. You think he is on the outside looking in. I do i think that he may put them in a position. They gave him opportunities on saturday. And i actually think Last week not not the second free season but the first grade season he gave us well. I think he's got burned a couple of times. I mean you know. They've seen him a ton in practice. So part of it. Is you know a couple of plays in the three seasons. Don't necessarily determined. That guy's flawed on the roster. I i have not seen anything from him to really makes me excited about the prospect and at least with armani watts. He's been on the team he can't produce a little bit it's not he's not as existent say like dorian. Oh daniel he's at least a little bit more involved with that. So i just i struggled a think devante is gonna make the roster but you know he's definitely a guy could see if just loved him in training. Camp of think has potential. You could sneak onto the roster and then login char various i assume the guys rounding rounding out the secondary. Get that point. Yeah all right think. We agree a lot here. I think bo peak keys. "Just doesn't look the same Even even at his better times toward the end of the year last year. I just i just wonder what's going on with want thornhill. It's absolutely time to worry about him. because yeah the injuries not an excuse anymore like last year him having that that knee injury so late in the year his rookie season was a bummer. Last year. we know how long it takes generally everybody's kind of different but he just didn't look healthy early in the year as the season went on he got better and better and got more involved in the defense and we started seeing some of those flash plays a quite a bit more than we were early on in the year. But if he's that beating out. Dan for this starting position and i know the chiefs really liked dan sorenson in. He's been in this team in this defense for a long time. And he's the type of player that they keep around because they like his work ethic and he gets along with everybody on the team in whatever but you drafted one thornhill to be a starter like you drafted him to be a playmaker and his rookie year. He was showing all promise as a playmaker and now he can't seem to beat out dan for the job. There's just something going on there that we're not seeing 'cause yeah he maybe it is something within the defense that he's having trouble picking up at this point but we've seen the athleticism on display like. Yeah he he had some bad place tonight but he had a couple of flash place two. We've seen the. He is a much more athletic player than dan. Sorenson and i would like to see the version of the secondary with a super. Would they fully healthy won- thornhill but we're not saying it for some reason so there's something else going on there that we don't understand. Yeah i just continue to wonder about that. I think now being in his third year in this offense understands all those things just like the back of his hand and now he can actually think and react to what the defense is doing knowing his job and then you put them at the tight end position a big physical guy one of the most explosive guys on this team very strong and it's been awesome to see transition tight end room because right now he's running with you. He's playing real wealth. Cole says palm attention to detail and not to say that he didn't have that before. But i mean as you get older you guys focus on certain things react quicker to certain things and in nets that comes with a lot of film study with a lot of reps. I was talking to earlier about no gray given the reps. It comes with reps reps help. You understand feel confident in what you're doing as you're running routes as you're as you're seeing things develop in the blocking game and colman mccoll run is so dang out there man those little things that can help him get open. Even more are really gonna help this football team. I mean mustache mondays baby. I'm just you know we. We started up texting with few guys until you know we were doing got on board. Now it's time to be negative nancy's talk about the negative from training camp matt. I'll start with you because we were pretty negative. We were just during the positive. No we were positive. We were positive. Paulie is now. We're going to be negative. Nancy's i don't know all right go. Who do you got. So if i i mean today today one thornhill came up with a groin injury and it just like rather than look back over training camp and try to come up with something. That's concerning to me. It's hard not to go with this immediate news because you know we saw last year. We saw dan sorenson step up when thornhill clearly came back either too early. We talked about this last time. Sterling the either. One came back to early from the torn. Acl the previous season or he was saddled with too great of a workload. It's impossible for us to know which one of those or both was a fault there but the chiefs clearly scaled back his responsibilities and then had him slowly ramp up as the postseason came near. The good news is that he looked good in the postseason But he came in injured already or or hurting into training camp and then pulled up with a groin injury. Now here's the thing to have a dynamic presence like that next to matthew is gonna make all the difference in the chiefs ability to sort of match the offense and be able to really put opponents away to do with spags wants to do the third wheel there dan sorenson he was really impressive last year. But he's always been a guy who's played over his head right now we're talking. He's getting longer in the tooth as you'd say right. He's getting like into his thirties. Never been like your athletic profile that you like. He's just always been. He's always been a smart tough durable player. And that's gotten the job done because he's that much smarter that much more prepared that much tougher that works for a while but i think i think it could get ugly if dirty. Dan hits a wall and one door hills not ready. I'm looking at that. Roster go and i mean are like you have to make a move if that becomes concerning and i'm just wondering if we're going to look back and go. Jeez thornhill was a lot of like hopeful and then injured hopeful and injured. I'm not saying it's eric berry. I don't want to overreact. Yeah i i do i sleep. Good the defense. Early camp Yeah i think Two perspectives perspectives. One third year in the system. We have a lot of veterans in similar roles of Position for us so a lot of experience in that regards and then a lot of young guys that are filling in nicely stepping up learning the system and making plays going in the same hatred the league in notice. How much see progress. Yeah he's picking up The defense really. Well which is you know. Probably the first hurdle for rookie right as you know the understand the scheme and how to play in the system and he he's done that very well he's he's a high energy high effort guy so He's he's been flying around you know making plays and Yeah and they're giving opportunities to do that. Background efficient yes I know zane from obviously from byu and training there in the summers and whatnot. So it'll come to me and ask questions and you know. I love giving advice and experience passing it along to the next guy everything that i've learned and the experiences that i've had which is a lot And just trying to coach them up when when he runs into something that he's struggling with or need some guidance I've been. I've been trying to help them in that. What is patrick. Train quarterback given. You're probably not gonna see many. Yeah this is this is actually. It's really great for our defensive. Deal to go patrick. And the offense and coach read their scheme and the amount of past plays in the schemes that they draw up. It really challenges us and which is great because we can. We can tighten up. We can adjust. We can focus because we know going into the regular season we might not face such a pass heavy pass. Pass heavy proficient throwing offense So if we if we can get all that working in that that training in now It'll be really good for us. During the season i obviously i got here. This may exceed what you even hopeful that been still around after all these years starting for simple way beyond what you thought you know. I i wouldn't say i put limitations on what my expectations were So i'm just taking it moment by moment enjoying the ride. It's been great. So far. I love it and i look forward to With you know continued to grind and continue to work with this team. And you'll accomplish more we. We've done a lot but we're not done yet. No i talk about football. You got football question. That'd be great that that's kinda out of my wheelhouse three super bowls when you look at yourself on absolutely. There's always room for improvement. There's always things we can get better on it and focus on You know yes. It's everything right like you're not perfect in any any regards. I think Biggest thing is thirty in the system. We got a nail down the details right. When you have success and repeated success it's about being very detail oriented About your scheme and knowing your stuff and so so. That's kind of the focus is taking it to the next level right really polishing up what we do and that's what training camps for relieve trained in. What did you anything come here. Just like that question right like you. Just you just find ways to to do more to detail things a little better. So i'm i'm always trying to look for improvements and it's a lot of things that you do take care of your body but i'm always trying to stay on top of it of wonder from. Let's make from the team. We got a lot of guys on the team out without necessarily beauty. You know. I don't really care to answer that question. If you've got a football question that'd be great. That's the end for you guys. Dave merit green room. He brings a lot of experience coach. Mary he was saying this is like his twenty ninth training camp and so he knows ball He knows how to coach the secondary. And i think what. What's the best thing about coach. Mary's he knows how to encourage guys out to get the best out of them To coach them up in a way that they can they can Improve and Kind of take coaching and take it to the field. So he he's everything for us in the secondary and he he's been a great leader for us respect one tournament. Great success last year nardi so together with three six view and looked beach even better this season. Yeah i think the coach is right The ideas that you use people skill set to their advantage. Right and and i think they. They've done that really well. Putting us in in a position where we can use our strengths to help the defense And you know. I would say everybody's versatile right so we can play multiple positions and so They do a good job of putting us in positions but also allowing us to move around and did you different things. based on our skill set so The coaches do a fantastic job of getting guys in the right spot. Got hurt late last year. What was it like wasn't suck man. I was actually at home. I know kobe started cove visit happening. for some reason i could travel know. Don't be uncomfortable me with the need injury on the plane so being at home having to watch the game and then you know of course losing it is i really just you know committed myself to this year and i really wanted to be a lot different. Feel like oh yeah. I'm good second year. Keeping that confidence is really. We've seen he may highlight bellevue mutual preventable off season. And all these man honestly last year. I'd be honest man. You know you have confidence as a player because maybe doing this your whole life. But we can't prepare like you normally do when you don't get that you get a new playbook competence down allied no so having ta having his good training county where we're at right now man learning even more it up a lot so you know and being grammatically being able to understand his game enough to make plays you know it really helps so recognizing things quickly yours likability..

"Had to play it off a little bit. I wasn't at one hundred percent but it was just more about the mental. Like i had to tell myself okay. It's gonna hurt but you gotta play through it. So that's why when the end of the season came you make them more as just because it's more mental and i just pushed myself through that that mental block and add started feel better. That's the voice of safety one thornhill. Who was opened with us on sunday as he discussed the reason he was up at rookie. Camp thornhill tours. Acl in week. Seventeen of two thousand nineteen and he did appear somewhat laboured early on in twenty twenty safety. Tyrone matthews guidance was monumental to his recovery conversation. The way tire. When i tell him i said he'd been to two times and he was telling me that is going to be some times. I was frustrated. And i was going to be like a step slow on a play or things like that and i saw during the season with multiple times. Reception or knocked. The ball now bows half a second too late but the biggest thing is just like stand confident key working. We're raking guy. Strengthening my knee stay on top of recovery. And i'll definitely be back to where i was my rookie. Your they're entering this camp. I feel good hundred percent right now.
