"But we begin today with music that philip rivers is retiring after seventeen seasons in the nfl. Sixteen with the chargers and san diego and los angeles and this one season in indianapolis when he got to the playoffs rivers never got to the super bowl but he stands fifth all time in passing yards and touchdown passes and he started the final. Two hundred forty games of his career without interruption will now become a high school football coach in alabama. Like his dad. We'll how will you remember his career. Well tony we automatically in any sport. Now we began to group people right and we associate certain people with certain folks football. It's done by position you know in a way that is probably not in the other sports. But i think of warren moon and dan fouts guys who were prolific prolific players who had long runs and played almost every game and they had a piled up passing stats. Galore like rivers did but they didn't reach the super bowl and then about through no fault of their own. Their teams weren't good enough. They got close. Each of those three gentlemen got close. But didn't have the breakthrough to the super bowl and rivers the same way river sets himself apart because he ran his mouth a lot. Which i have done without and i tend to like trash talkers but i i am. I didn't take to that. But he was a prolific quarterback. Tony he will receive serious consideration for the hall of fame. You know. I mean fouts and moon that to me shapes the category. I don't know if you've got other names. You'd like to put in there as well. Get to the hall of fame in a second but in looking at philip rivers his career. I thought he was a very very good player. I will remember. Most is the way the way he delivered the ball where he wound up and threw it as far as he could. And most of the time you thought it wasn't even going to get there. But it got there especially with antonio gates and it ended up in the end zone a lot. You talked about grouping people. Well i'm gonna group them as well. I'm going to group them with his draft class and draft class ally manning ben rothlisberger. They both dot to multiple super bowls. They both won super bowls. I feel badly for philip rivers in this regard to me. It's like charles barkley. It's everything but the ring because the statistics are certainly there. And i thought it was a very good quarterback. I'll take the hall of fame issue. I'll add another name dan marino. Who never won a super bowl if the comparables to marino and to moon and to fouts are rare. Then he's going to get in. I don't think they hold it against you. If you haven't won a super bowl there are people who've won. Two super bowls aren't in the hall of fame. You not room for a long ten years. Yeah do you think he would get in.

Los Angeles: QB Philip Rivers To Leave Chargers, Enter Free Agency:

"The Philip rivers thing is really interesting because there's a whole bunch of things going on number one. The chargers need to find a new quarterback. The chargers need to find somebody to kind of become their guy here in this city. Philip rivers is may or may not play again where does he go and and then there's just the totality of Philip rivers career at this point. He's I think he's going to get in the hall of fame. Because it feels like good quarterbacks get into the hall of fame but he his career is a little bit of a mixed bag because he's the numbers are great. They've won a bunch of games but they've never been to the Super Bowl. I think they've only been in the AFC championship the game. Once in his career he played a long time he sees it one of those. It's really really nice and this is the thing about La. I know allies career is is a mixed bag to but there are two super bowl. Wins in that thing. There's a bunch of Nice long play offerings. Philip rivers has really never had that. I'm wondering if he's low key odor. The Matt Stafford met staffer when he does say goodbye is going to have some healthy numbers. And he's not going to have very much postseason success. And he's GonNa kind of be a guy and I know that doesn't sound like a good thing to say about Philip rivers because he's had occurred as better better than Stafford but the reality is that he's going to be remembered in the same grouping as Matt Stafford big numbers. No postseason success. Yeah you think about it. I mean ah you. Let's do the game real quick. Best Charger quarterback rivers is not Dan. Fouts Philip Rivers for me like Dan. fouts is still the guy that oh I think of when just off the top of my head and Philip Rivers has had a really nice career but he to me and make me. I mean you said Philip Rivers I but to me. It's still Dan fouts. Stan Humphries freeze is not the best quarterback in charge. He's not going to the super bowl super bowl so it's not the best ever which I think fouts is that guy and if you're not the guy that took him to the Super Bowl who are where are you in this whole thing and oh by the way. There's this whole element which absolutely sucks Philip rivers. I'm not a charger fan. I'm not not necessarily a Philip rivers fan but it sucks that they're the dude is homeless in a football sense and I'm not talking about where he goes with. Its indie or Miami or Tampa. He doesn't belong belong to anybody anymore because the chargers came to La Nobody in La Cares about Philip rivers as a football player. We don't have any history with him. We don't have any great. I remember seeing Filbert's do x Y and Z people. People Sandiego certainly do lay there anymore. And he doesn't even play for that team anymore. He's down the road. So who does he belong to at this point. He belongs to the San Diego chargers which don't exist anymore lousy guy that's had that career should have a home forever and he won't

"Bob Glauber is joined us on sports byline, and we're talking about his outstanding book again. I want to recommend to you. It's call guts, ingenious, the story of three unlikely coaches who came to dominate the NFL in the nineteen eighties. We've talked about Bill watts. Let's talk about Joe Gibbs for just a moment. It's interesting as I think about him in the times, I interacted with him. I didn't see him as a particularly successful coach in the early days. Tell me a little bit about his transition and development as a football coach. He had a really good run in San Diego. But it was very quiet run. And he was the offensive coordinator, Dan Fouts was his quarterback and oddly enough who did he replace offense coordinator was Bill walls, and he'll still be a very funny story while funny to him at the time. But when Bill told him that he was taking the Stanford job after a year at San Diego. Fouts was. Despondent because wall should basically resurrected Dan Fouts his career in San Diego. And that's out said, look, I, I might have been traded or released because I was really struggled Bill. They'll straighten it out. And he says, I'm going to Stanford. I'm like, really bummed out terrible last game against the raiders. So all comes Joe Gibbs, but he does a really good job that Joe's much more stubborn coach than Bill was Bill, Bill. You know hell to his principles, but Joe would not let Dan do anything that he wanted if it didn't coincide with what built with Joe wanted. So Dan Fouts little frustrated with Joe Gibbs at times, and but Joe Gibbs did a terrific job. Now, he was an unknown coach though. You don't you don't get the publicity now as a coordinator that you do in today's game. So he was relatively unknown coach. But Bobby Beth thirds general manager, and in Washington, and he goes to Jackson cookies. I got a guy in San Diego that I wanted to look at I really think he's going to be the. Coach and his name his name is Joe Gibbs, though can check and coke not heard of him and brought him into New York for an interview and Joe's extremely nervous. They go to one of Jack cooks buildings in New York owns a skyscraper, Jack take coke looks out of the window and seats Chrysler building. It says Joe Gibbs shit up over there. I own it Joe. That point is like, oh my God. I'm dead..

"Dan? Fouts is joined us on sports byline hall of fame quarterback. I mentioned that you had some great wide receivers, Charlie joiner tight end Kellen Winslow. They were probably the most famous both in the hall of fame, but you also had John Jefferson and west Chandler, what was the talent of that group collectively? What is it that they did consistently Dan? The number one rule, we had was don't fool the quarterback d where you're supposed to be and he'll get the ball to you. If you're open. And if the defense allows it so that was the biggest thing about our offense is that they were all unselfish. They all did what they were supposed to do within the design of the offense and they cut a lot of balls, because of it and, and because they were unselfish they rooted for each other. They supported each other, and they bailed me out many, many times, tremendous, athletes and football players. But even better people, I also thought that their talents complemented each other. I mentioned about Winslow being the tight end Charlie joiner in there as well. And you think about them it wasn't a one dimensional team was it? Well, no. I mean with wins, though you could do anything. I mean, he could play inside or outside Charlie was an outside receiver who really worked well in the slot. And really when you look at all the slot receivers. Now like your west Welker, Charlie joiner was. It was the forerunner of a lot of that. And then on the outside the dynamic Jefferson who could catch anything thrown his way and then equally dynamic Wes Chandler who could run through an entire defense. Once he got his hands on the ball. So to me, it was it was just a phenomenal group of guys to destroy the ball to. I think Dan, there were two one in addition subtraction, that we're really key during that fifteen years that you were with San Diego on the addition side, the running back, Chuck Muncie. What did he bring to the team? He brought fear fear to the defense because it's six three two hundred and forty five pounds and he could run a four five forty and just tough as nails. I mean he was very, very influential in setting up our play action passing game. Obviously, the threat of Muncie running at you was it was a scary thought for defense. So that allowed us to get better pass protection. In our receivers have more room down the field. Because the defense would be concerned with the run with Muncie, and they would be having to respect that. And the loss, of course, is when Fred dean was traded to San Francisco. I really thought that that was something that hurt that, that team my correct in the survey Shen don't question, Fred. Di went onto the have a whole fame career because what he did in San Francisco that, that really did hurt our defense that same year that the owner decided to ship. John Jefferson off the Green Bay, although he or did re re deemed himself by picking up west Chandler that same year..

"And could they do it on the on the home floor, and you know, and and walk out of the. The building known. Hey, the last time we set foot in here was it was a championship. And so all of that is you know, kind of bubbling under the surface. Here's get ready for Sunday. So I appreciate the time. Man your ears. Good a person as you're on the air. And it's just one of those deals where I really, you know, there's the thought in how you go about what you do for living. And then you have a way to express and share with people that means a lot that you take the time well fits the feelings mutual. I believe you're going have a special guest there on Sunday bay area legend, Dan Fouts expected to be attended. So just keep an eye open for the beard. Hey, I'll tell you what. And I can't let you go without this the Miami miracle lateral play. I would have what have destroyed many many people that do what we do. And yet you stayed with it called it and watch the most credible ending to a dolphin patriot game wherever gonna see. Yeah. That's that's why you never give up on a on a end of game play. I mean, even you brought it home and that was not easy to do. And it was that moment because we all lived in the play by play realm where I was packing my bags literally putting stuff into my bag. We had type flights out of there. And I'm thinking, all right. I'll get some stuff in here thinking about what do I want to say? The patriots are going to clinch the the playoff spot. They're going to clinch at least a number two seed. All right. Let me put these into context. And then the thing happens and unfolds that the way that it did. And it does remind you don't give up on a play ever. Even though you think there's no possible way. It's going to go that direction it did. And you're right. I appreciate it. That was that was one of the craziest plays I've ever seen in a professional sporting event. Well, you know, what the thing was this is I was I literally was on my couch watching it is. I just loved it. The very end you didn't go. What the hell's gronkowski doing out there? You're like he doesn't have an angle, but, but it would've been like what the hell, I know. Bill Belichick who's probably is. He's the greatest head coach in NFL history. He's the greatest strategist in NFL history. And this was over thought by him that gronk was in there on that final play where you need a fast safety to make tackle not a big tight end. Not the ball down when they're not even throwing it. Fifty five yards down field. I hope to see you soon. And again, thanks for taking the time and made my day. It's all of this. Always great talkative see about that. "Here. Trying to get around. I'm see his hand the corner reaching for Dan Fouts put all Dan did was lift his rear foot. Let that hand go under his leg. And he throws a touchdown pass. Well, any other quarterback in advance? But Dan had that vision you that feel for the area. It was able to save rear. And so it's a combination is office wine, but it's also the quarterback being able to know feel pressure. When you have this matchup on Sunday, the two people that the patriots will look at right away defensively is Aaron Donald and then sue sue a little bit older Donald has been young and has been very successful. What do you notice about those two defensive linemen because to beat Brady in the beginning? You gotta get to them. Well, you know. I think the key to any player coming into this game. First of all is your mental said. I think no matter how good or how? Well, you played in the season coming to this game is a different mental perspective. I know when I came here. It was a lot different for me. And getting used to the game tempo because it takes ten hours to play that earned thing. And especially if you're like these guys real, hyper kinda guys who are. Keyed up. We it's hard to stay up for. So I think the mental perspective is gonna make more than the how do I keep that temperament that vicious temperament I've got going for the whole game. And if they can do that, they'll do well if not then office. Go to them because office, Jim Ringo..

"Here's what I will tell you. I'll tell you that if you're looking for some kind of drama with a Super Bowl. Gimme it. From either side, we lack of buzz is there, someone chirping more. So than someone else. I a rob gronkowski in his craziness and talking to you about the number sixty nine you don't me a lot for the patriots side. It's business as usual day came off the flight with ties and shirts and suits and dress shoes and Rams came off in like their Rams gear like their their sweat pants and their sweatsuits. And so there's a dichotomy between both of those teams the Rams not necessarily happy to be there. But it's the idea that they have an opportunity here to do with the eagles last year in a knock off the New England Patriots. I think that from my standpoint. When we see Tom Brady, and we see Bill Bella check. And we see both of those guys on the sideline you could either. Go one of two ways, you could say I hate those guys because they win so much or do you give me a grownup? Like, I am and say these are all teams are always in the mix. The Bella check Brady teams always in the mix or right there in the big game with opportunity win the Super Bowl. And for me. I don't disc greatness. I'm always intrigued on the kind of the chase for the best. Like if the patriots are the best in their conference and they can win the Super Bowl. That's great. I know who's going to be the next team's going to be able to have a run. Like, this doesn't happen. Very often the National Football League Amazon the NBA, of course, because of dynasties, but in the NFL, you don't get this. And so I appreciate Tom Brady for what I see because as a late seventies eighties kid growing up watching John Elway and Joe Montana and Dan Fouts and Warren Moon and some of these great quarterbacks in the eighties. I didn't think would ever see anything better than Joe Montana or John Elway seriously. I mean from my stat standpoint if you really.

So Baker was basically, a unanimous choice. I mean, people were a little worried about his height. But it was essentially a choice and told the during the sauce, you Brown era, some of the research they were doing actually had Baker number one. So Baker does number one. And then hard knocks happens at a media put the Browns issues on. Full display in front of everyone to watch and enjoy and consume. And then you see the team on the field this year. It was a really odd team. Because in one sense they were going to overtime almost half of their games during the first part of the season. So they were playing hard for Hugh. And yet you thought Hugh talking about how he had to take more control of the offense with Haley Baker wasn't playing. Well, you know, obviously, he's a rookie. So it's gonna take some time. But it wasn't like this looked like they had it together. And so then they lose to the Steelers the Monday after the game John Dorsey and owner Jimmy house them come into Hugh Jackson's office, and they tell them they're gonna go with a different direction. She was upset about this. He felt like that he had written the team out during these tough years when they were going to lose and everyone knew they were going to lose. And so he was shocked. He asked why and John Dorsey said because the team is quitting. And that I'm told very much upset, Hugh because again, they had gone to. Overtime. And we're very close to having a really good record at that point. And he told them to get the f out of his office. Yeah. That'll get you fired. So so here's the thing. I'm wondering though, okay. Because from what we found out on this show, we had the broadcast or iron eagle on the show a few weeks ago and he did that last Steelers Browns game. And I asked him about the situation that he saw on Cleveland playing out and he told a story about him and Dan Fouts going into a pre-broadcast meeting with the head coach, Hugh Jackson and hall of Famer Dan Fouts asked you how come you're not running more Oklahoma type plays for Baker Mayfield, y aren't you doing more of that to which I and said, Hugh Jackson said, I agree. And they were just kind of looking each other. What sort of answer is that from the head coach of a team? So from your reporting, what do you think was happening there with him and Haley, and and Baker and clearly something was dysfunctional that became more functional with all people as you point on your piece, Greg Williams. So what do you think? How did you Jackson to just be a sort of one of those head coaches? It's like glorified play collar..

"I four or five years we were on this big thing for four or five years. I kept hearing this argument. Era. Jurors goat Brady second or Brady one. Rodgers to greatest all time apparently Joe Montana. John Elway never existed. Peyton Manning never existed. I always said. You do get it. Like, Tom Brady's got a room in his house full of trophies. They're not that stupid argument. And then I had something I said something during the middle of this year. And I said the it was perceived as a hot take I said the eight best quarterbacks I've ever seen in my life. It's not just about Super Bowls. This is about talent playoffs records your impact to the league. Your impact in the city. What did you overcome? What did you play with the eight best quarterbacks? I've seen again. There's a lot of different. It's Peyton Manning. Tom Brady Joe Montana. Terry bradshaw. John elway. Dan marino. Aikman and breeze. Now. People said you're just saying Troy Aikman. Oh leadership playing hurt toughness dominating a great division. When Washington giant in Dallas pout, those eight best quarterbacks, but the one that got people worked up is drew Brees was a hot take. Was way Rogers, and I said he's right on the outside right next to Brett farve and Steve Young and maybe Dan Fouts. And isn't it interesting? Mr. I'm crazy hot take. Right. I was whoa. You're and I said, no, let's talk about impact to a city. Whereas Aaron Rodgers was given a championship roster a championship level head coach and championship momentum in front office. Drew Brees was given the Cleveland Browns with a port Katrina bountygate. One guy was given the laughing stock of the league that had one playoff win in the history of the franchise. The other player was given arguably the most iconic franchises in the NFL with championship level players. Great momentum terrific front office. Very good head coach. So that's not close. Also. Let's go through four or five things. If drew Brees wins this weekend and goes to the Super Bowl, and they are favored and most people like the saints. If drew Brees get to the Super Bowl. And if he does against Kansas City or New England that again going to be a field goal game. If drew Brees wins the Super Bowl. And again, they're favored at home this weekend to get their Super Bowl titles against Aaron check breeze. NFL records, not close check breeze impact on a franchise. Drew Brees folks is the saints. To Aaron Rodgers is arguably not the Packers best quarterback ever impact on the franchise is not close leadership qualities. I don't know. One guy has former teammates constantly calling him out one guy is revered where three hundred pound offensive lineman. Literally do we have the tape? This is what happened when an offensive lineman Zack street retired recently for the past eight years I've played in front of the most prolific passer in NFL history. Drew Brees has been the single greatest

"Where the chargers had to know that if we be Baltimore and we've got a good chance because we played them a couple of weeks ago, and we expect to make adjustments. But why not stay on the east coast? Let's go up to Rhode Island or New Hampshire get acclimated to the conditions. Not go all the way back to LA and hanging LA La Land for a little bit and men go to New England. I don't know to me. I'd be all business and forget about the family and just go try and stay in the same time zone. You're going to be in traveled ten thousand miles in a week. Could not agree. More in that latter point no doubt about it. And look the thing about the chargers is, you know, they went to Pittsburgh and one they went to Kansas City and one they wanted a lot of good games this year, and they've been impressive. And you wonder when that runs out for them, right? Like how long can they continue that? And then you think about New England and you're like if they ever played a game on the road. I mean, I always turn it on this time of year. It's dark at four in the afternoon, and it's misty and gross and did foggy. But I I don't know. I get the feeling that this is kind of the last one song for Philip rivers the last real push. He probably is one of three. And it's an interesting question to ponder when you when you're laying awake at night. You can't sleep the greatest quarterbacks to never appear in a Super Bowl. I Dan Fouts would be one would be one. And I think it should be three. I I mean, I think he's right there over the course of his career, and this is probably his last push at I sit back in September. We're sitting on the colts game and just kind of absurd at the schedules. And of course, you still have. No that was good. So it really was kind of a shot the dark, but I said, you know, what I get this weird feeling that the chargers are gonna win the AFC behold area Iriarte. So we'll see what happens last one silly. Nick foles the guy that feels no pressure going into New Orleans trying to do a Carson Wentz. I couldn't do that's at least hang in the game got lambasted by forty one drew Brees in the dome..

"But the best. But the numbers don't support him being the choice. I'm sorry. It just doesn't. So I was Green Bay luck. Because anything that works for my man. Aaron Rodgers is all right with me. I don't mind telling everybody they know big a fan of Amer Rogers to me. I'm not apologize. I'll give it to them. What town distractions? I'll give it, Dan. What mistakes? He's I don't care whatever it is. Erin Rogers, healthy is the greatest quarterback. I have ever seen in my life. I don't care who you give me. I don't care even Joe Montana, even damn Reno. Even John Elway even those Super Bowl champions. I even bring not Marino, of course. But I even bring up Dan Fouts. I didn't even bring up Terry Bradshaw or Troy Aikman or Steve Young. I am telling you or. There is no quarterback in history of football that. I would rather have from a Tele perspective than Aaron Rodgers. He's that great. He's that. Great. I'm just gonna leave it at that. Hey, no, big fan Aaron Rodgers mate. And I apologize for it. It it ain't say ESPN..

"My lifetime. Maybe two. Warren Moon and Dan Fouts. How much does Philip rivers have in common with Dan Fouts? Well, let's look it up, Dan. Fouts led the NFL and passing four straight years. Four times. Filbert says never led the NFL in passing Dan. Fouts was a two time. All pro Philip rivers was never an all pro, Dan. Fouts was the offensive player of the year deemed the best offensive player in all of football. Philip rivers has never sniff that award. So I don't see a comparison there. They played for the same franchise. Rivers has now cumulated more passing yards than Fouts. But in the air as they played in vouch was considered much better than rivers. How about Warren Moon? Warren Moon is led the league in passing two times. Rivers has never done. At once. Warren Moon is led the league in touchdowns once Bill rivers led the league in touchdowns. Once Warren Moon was the offensive player of the year. Philip rivers has never been the offensive player of the year. It's closer between moon. Rivers still not equal edge to moon. So Philip rivers got into the hall of fame. Without any real individual accolade. And without winning championships at this point is career. Philip rivers would go down. S the worst quarterback in my lifetime to get into the hall of fame. He'd have the shakiest slimmest resume. His resume statistically is very close to ally. Manning's the differences ally. Manning is the more accomplished quarterback because he was on championship teams. Anyone SuperBowl MVP's? Do I think in a vacuum ally? Manning is a better quarterback, Philip rivers. No, I don't. But these games the one that's gonna start in less than an hour. They have to count for something they count for more. In some of it is right place. Right time ask ally. Manning's old, man. Archie manning that question? Guy never got a fair shake because of the franchise that drafted him. He didn't want that to happen to a son as it turned out. Philip rivers got scooped up by that team in the rest as they say is history. Philip rivers badly for me in my opinion, needs to go on a playoff run. Now, we're never. When will he be in a better situation to do it? He gets Melvin Gordon back healthy fourteen total touchdowns fifth in the NFL. He's got a top ten defense. He's got a top ten offense. He's got something going for him today that I think is vital the ravens for as good as that defense. Is he gets a second crack, Adam? He gets an opportunity to see him twice. And that's a big difference. I can say that because look at Ben Rothlisberger. Dan faced. Big face. The ravens defense twice this year. When he saw it in September. He completed only fifty seven percent of his passes. He was under three hundred yards. He threw a backbreaking interception. When he saw them a month later the Steelers after him to drop back forty seven times he threw for two hundred seventy yards two touchdowns. No turnovers. Pittsburgh went into Baltimore won the game by touchdown. I see the same thing today. This is a situation where getting a second chance at that defense a second look knowing what to expect and also knowing the quarterback. You know, what you expected Lamar Jackson? Now, he's not gonna sneak up on you. There's only so much. He can do the guy is thrown since being named the starter. He's six one. So that's seven games. He is throwing a grand total of twenty seven passes in the fourth quarter. That's it twenty seven. So Philip rivers. He's got a fight the demons today. He's got a losing record in the playoffs. Eleven touchdowns nine interceptions. Very pedestrian postseason numbers. He has a lot of stats, but a lot of them are empty statistics in my mind. I don't think he's a hall of Famer without a playoff run. Do you agree with that? Just Philip rivers. Need a playoff run to get to canton. Eight five five two one two four CBS. That's eight five five two one two four two two seven. What do you think? Of all the players in the two thousand eighteen NFL playoffs. Philip rivers has the most to gain in the most to lose. His legacy is on the line. How he gets remembered in the sport if he gets immortality in in canton one day, I think it depends on what he does today. I wonder if you agree with that. Philip rivers a hall of fame quarterback without a playoff run eight five five two one two four CBS. That's eight five five two one two four two two seventy year from you on it. You can also follow us on Twitter at CBS sports radio. I'm at the pony express pony spelled P O, and I. The ravens come into this game with the number one scoring defense in the NFL later today. Or excuse me. The ravens come into this game with the number one. Total defense later today. The bears will come into their game against the eagles with the number one scoring defense. The old saying is defense wins championships. Well, does it. How of number one defense is fared in the playoffs. The last few years. I'll share that with you. I do want your thoughts on.

"Fame. Finalist making the final fifteen. Richard seymour. I think he's the. Who else who else? AL dot coryell coach, all right. And I think there's a lot of people that are pushing for Don coryell to get in. He's been a finalist disa- believes five times. Tom Florez, Tom floors is Tom floors won two Super Bowls as a coach. Yeah. He was a player as well. How do you? How do you? How do you not put him in? About Jimmy Johnson. Why would he go Jimmy Johnson one too? So I don't know the coaching thing is subjective. You know for the guys that didn't win a Super Bowl they say, well, you didn't win the Super Bowl. Tom floor is they say well you want to Super Bowls, but he didn't win enough games. So I don't know. I mean, I there is no set criteria that that we can go back and say, okay, he checks off this box this box this box. It's subjective. So how many are we add on the finance fifteen? Jimmy Johnson did not get in not that you guys care. But I got fourteen hundred fifteen right. I did this earlier on my show on orange and blue seven sixty one. I didn't get was Jimmy Johnson. And Don coryell, you're right. Oh, good for you. You must be proud. You know, it's a little things in life fourteen hundred fifteen you'll take that in just about every walk of life. Absolutely. In back to Don coryell? I certainly remember him coaching the chargers in Dave doesn't he get a lot of credit for the the advancement of the the high powered passing game in the national football. What his thing was sure he instead Gilman. I think would be two of the guys that a lot of football. People would look back on and say both of those guys were ahead of their time. He was when you think about it. With Dan Fouts. I mean, they they were throwing the ball back in the late seventies early eighties more than just about every other NFL team. Is he still around is he on the Don coryell? I I think he's alive. You know, what I'm not sure I should say, I'm not sure I'm not either he passed in twenty ten July twenty two.
