In Maryland, Republican candidate Dan Cox was in Frederick county holding a rally last night. Tonight in the state, President Biden joined Democrat westmore for a get out the vote rally at buoy state university. It is the final day of campaigning before election day tomorrow. Not quite 20% of Maryland voters have voted so far and of that small number, just more than half of them are Democrats. "To kind of keep with the theme, you could say Maryland is in the northeast. It's basically in the northeast. We'll put it that way. But I think that there's going to be another very important race happening in Maryland, the governor's race. And Dan Cox joins us right now in his website is Cox for freedom dot com running for governor of the great state of Maryland. Dan, welcome to the program. Charlie, it's an honor. Thanks for having me on. Yeah, thank you. Tell us about your race, how are things going? Well, you know, I'm privileged to run and carry this flag of freedom because in Maryland, we actually have a long history of being the old line state, the free state. And our constitution stands for our individual liberties and sadly the last two years of those have been trampled upon and now we see, you know, rising crime, one of the worst states in the nation for the murder rate. We have a horrific situation in our schools where parents are being excluded and children are being indoctrinated with both CRT and this gender ideology that is literally creating in Montgomery county alone a 300% increase in gender dysphoria and parents are fed up. And so I'm running to say enough is enough. Let's bring back economic sanity to Maryland's lower our taxes. You know, Charlie, we're at 44th in the nation for income tax burdens, our corporate rate is 8.25% in Delaware, blue state and next to us. This is only 5.5%. So we can be smarter than this. So there has not yet been any independent polling released in this race. So we don't really know for sure where these two candidates stand. Let's talk about Republican candidate Dan Cox. It's really been an uphill struggle for him ever since he took the GOP nomination and a lot of that flack is coming from within his own party. That's right, we have in Maryland kind of a division in the Republican Party. You have the folks like Dan Cox, who are aligned with former president Donald Trump, and then you've got the other wing of the party, the folks who want nothing to do with Donald Trump and don't believe he's the future. So there's kind of a fracture within that party. And Dell get Cox has some support within his party, but he's not been picking up a lot of high profile endorsements aside from, of course, the ex-president. Does that affect his fundraising to any great degree here? We did see some fundraising reports pretty recently and his numbers are quite paltry at this point for someone trying to become governor. He's been outraised by Democrat Wes Moore, something like a ten to one margin westmore is raised is something like $10 million over the course of the campaign has more than a million in the bank and really is well positioned to hit the airwaves and really get his message out much better than Dan Cox at this point. Speaking of Wes more, does he have more unified support than Cox does? What's more absolutely has unified support from across the Democratic Party.
