"Bay. I am Katie Pacino, a news radio wofl here today with Dan Billingsley, president of heatwave, heating, cooling and plumbing. Super excited for today. I hope everyone's having a wonderful Saturday so far. And of course, thank you for tuning in today we're going to be asking dance, um, air conditioning questions that our listeners have sent in B a Facebook. They've also called and we're going to learn how to get the most bang for our buck. Because who doesn't want the best bang for their buck? Right? We're going to get the best bang for our buck out of our air conditioning system and make sure that we hired the right kind of air conditioning service company. You're going to be So certain after the show's done that you're going to hire the right company, So, Dan, I'm going to ask you a little question. Tell the listeners a little bit about you and your company he wave So I am a third generation doing air conditioning and plumbing. Um, I started heat wave back in 2009. And since then, we've done over about 4000 installations now. We've service thousands of customers on. We specialize in residential air conditioning, service and replacement. You know, we know the climate. We know the codes on the construction. So we know what works. What doesn't that way We could get a job done right the first time. And we're locally owned and operated. So we're giving you guys we're giving our customers personalized service and accountability. We always want the job done right the first time, right? Nobody wants to call someone three or four times. That's incredible for 1000 installations. That's definitely something to be proud of. Like I mentioned we do have a few questions from listeners that have emailed us. As well as some of my own. So if you don't mind, we're just going to get started with the questions. Mary in Riverview wrote in and said Katie. We recently had a sea service and the technician told me it was time to replace my A C, but it's only been six years. Shouldn't an A C last a little longer than that, Dan? Yes, Absolutely. It should be a lot longer that if it was properly installed, you know, Unfortunately, we hear this a lot. We get called out all the time for second opinions for situations similar to this, Um A lot of times we have this found that they just needed a really good cleaning and they're backed up and running again. A lot of time. The technicians just not qualified to diagnose. Ah lot of complicated problems out there. Or those companies who actually require text to try and sell me systems on every call, regardless of what the problem is and how old equipment ISS I feel like I've been victim to that, actually like I'll call someone out to do it, and they just press and press and press for me to get in new A C. And that's the That's not always what you're looking for. No. You know, I don't care what they claim. The problem is, if your attention is less than eight years old, replacing it should never even be mentioned. Um Listen, You know anybody out there listening is in that kind of situation right now. You should really call us ASAP, and we will come out and do a second opinion for free right away. Just make sure you heard it on The radio show and I give you our office number. If you want to write this down, it's 8137105757. That's 7105757 again. It's 8137105757. Well, that's very.

"You what I've learned so much in a half an hour that I almost feel like an air expert. But I'm not. And you're probably not, too, And that's why your air conditioning system is probably not running as efficiently and maybe potentially not even correctly, like it should be. But that's why we have our expert. We have Dan Billingsley with us to make sure that a first mine I'm selfish. I'm gonna get my A C working with Dan but also Make sure that you can as well if yours is not where it should be, Dan, we talked a lot about duct work in the last segment. But I really want to kind of let that hit home for people because I don't think people really understand as you were explaining to me during the break. Ductwork really is the cause of so many issues that people deal with with their systems, isn't it? Yeah, Actually, it's it's one of the biggest underlying causes of a lot of lot of lot of problems in their systems about 95% of homes around the area have Old or broken, severely undersized duck works that don't fit with today's Today's equipment. Air flow RATES equipment runs a lot differently than systems that 15 2025 years ago. You know, on this causes a lot of premature damage to your new equipment and causes high electric. You know what I mean? So Ah, that's why it's such a big big point of our inspection is to inspect that duck work. It's crazy. Dan Rightto have a brand new system to have a brand new air conditioning unit, and you're just restricting how long it's gonna last and how well it's going to work with the duct work, right? Yeah. All that ductwork That's up in the attic. You know, One thing is that, you know, flexible duck. Work on Lee has a 20 year life span in our climate. Realistically, if your duck works over 25 years old, they need to be inspected. And a lot of times they're gonna have to be replaced in order for your system to run properly to, you know, one thing about you know you're leaking duck work is there's a way I kind of describe it to people. You know if you were to take a five gallon bucket, drill a bunch of holes in it, Fill it up with water, and you carry it from one end to your house to the other By time you get to the other end of the house. How much water you think is going to be in that left in that bucket And what kind of problem you think you're gonna have, So we're dealing with Ah house That maybe is cool. But it's taking a lot longer to cool. I would imagine Dan that it should, and also, it's costing us a lot more cool than it should, right. Yeah, And you know what happens is your a lot of times your air pressure's on one side of the house, and then you have them bedrooms or whatever. It's typically most of time. It's a bedroom on the far side of the house. And that you know, doesn't cool properly at night. You don't People are uncomfortable and 19. You know, that's because by the time the hair gets down there, it loses So much of it towards the addict. There's not much left. Cool that room, and unfortunately people really notice those problems when they're sleeping at night because that's when they spend the most time. You know in those in those rooms, So I've got another email question here from lives in braid in 10. She wants no her system, she says. It's only a couple of years old and it's under warranty. So why should she have to spend the money to have maintenance done? If it's break If it breaks down, it's covered right? Well, sometimes you know, maintenance actually is required by every single manufacturer, and it's in every single acey manufacturer's warranty paperwork. It's in the fine print. No. Unfortunately, we've seen in the past. You know, Several large warranty claims not be. Ah, be approved because the customer wasn't able to provide, you know, proof that they've had their system maintained the last couple years. It kind of goes back to that. That car deal I told you about earlier. You know if you could buy a brand new car, and you never changed oil in that motor blows, Do you really think you're going to get that motor covered under warranty? Absolutely not. And you're the same thing in your e C gets dirty. Just like your oil in your car, right, Dan? Because, yeah, you know, it might be brand new when you buy it, but we all go outside and look at our units. We know that stuff gets down and there in the fan when it's not running or even sometimes, when it is running. We have the lizards get inside, and, unfortunately, sometimes lose their lives in there. I mean, we know there's so many things that can get into your unit. And really kind of cause it to not work correctly or not work officially, And when you can get that cleared up when you can find out what that is, and make sure that all those things aren't working correctly for under $3140.39 dollars with this 58 point tune up, you'd be a fool, not to Dan. Yeah. You know, it's really amazing how dirty your A C can get in in just a few months, Six months to a year. People don't realize that a dirty athe. You know, it causes their high utilities. It causes premature breakdowns. You know what I mean? And then on top of that, it doesn't provide the level of comfort that you're paying your electrical Your electric bill for, you know, clean A C run so much better than a dirty one. Yeah, There's there's no question about that. And Dan, this is Dan Billingsley. We have with us today. He is our expert here on the air experts radio show he is the president of Heat Wave heating, cooling and plumbing and tell us why. Heat wave is such a trusted brand in this community..

"That is Dan Billingsley from heat wave heating, cooling and plumbing and Dan We got a lot of great information that first segment a lot about the 58 point inspection. Will you guys come out and tune up Somebody's a C system and make sure that everything's working correctly and I think that's what a lot of people don't realize is Yeah, Maybe you're aces running. But if it's not running efficiently if it's not running correctly, it's really going to damage the longevity of that system, isn't it, Dan? Yeah, Actually, it will. Big time. Um so like we're talking about Earlier with the 58.2. You know, there's a lot a lot of things that go into that. Um you know, our guys are trained to look at your system as a whole, you know, and most people don't realize that your system is Made up of three major components. You know, you got your outside unit, which everybody knows about. You got your air handler, which sometimes can be in a closet or up in the attic. You know where people it's out of sight out of mind. And then you have been afraid to go there. Dan, I'm afraid to go there. With that with the attic. Like a lot of us. We you know, we love that you guys will come do it, cause we're just afraid to get up there, right. So we get up there. You know our guys is, you know, as long as it's middle of day, and it's not like 140 degrees in your attic. You know, we can reschedule if we need to like for the first of the morning or later in the evening when it cools down, But a big portion of the system is actually in your attic. And that's where you know. Your duck work is, you know, around here? Most of all of our duck work is located in the attic. Um and actually the average home around here. Duck work loses about 20 or 30%. Off the air that moves through it through leaks and your ductwork in the attic thing, holes and Dan. I think a lot of us like me where I just kind of looked at my doctor. Work is my dog crates there. It's just there, and I think it's doing its job and I don't realize the importance of it. But you were explaining to me. This is really an intricate part of the system, isn't it? This is much more important than I think people realise, isn't it? Yes, it is. Um you're you know you're duck work moves the air that you're paying to cool. You know you're paying the electric company. All this money for your air conditioner Run. Cool that air. The dockworkers were circulates it around the house and to all your bedrooms and rooms. You don't and unfortunately, all the ductwork goes through the attic. So, basically, just think about your mom growing up. If you're listening in your car, right, your mom, you leave the front door open and we're not paying to heat the outside. We're not paying to cool the out. Just think about that. You don't want to pay. To cool your addict and you are saying 10 20 to 30%. You could lose of the air You're actually pushing through or should be pushing through to your home within your ductwork in the addict. Yeah. Um, you know, there's a lot of a lot of times a lot of leaks and holes or, like even duck work. We've even found on inspections where duck was completely disconnected. Just dumping cold air and your attic, You know, cool in your attic. I mean, there's no point of Ah, air condition your attic and that just waste so much money on your electric bill. So if we're unsure about our duck work for onshore about any single part of our system when it comes to our air conditioning and heating, I guess the best bet is just have you guys out there for that tune up because I mean, you just gave us a great a great deal for our listeners. And if you want to reiterate that again so that they understand how great that deal is, but for that little money To be able to find out exactly how our systems working. It's it's a no brainer, isn't it, Dan? Yeah, Honestly, it is, You know, I mean, are like I said earlier are 58 point. Tune up, Takes 90 to 120 minutes on average to inspect your whole system. And you know, Right now we're doing it for you for just $39. That's an hour and a half to two hours. If you're bad at math out there, that's a long time to have somebody in your home for under $40. So it really is a great value and again, if if somebody has been One of those people that Hey, I know my A C needs to get maintenance work every now and then. Or I know that maybe I should have my duck work. Look, Dad, I know that maybe my ace is not as efficient but I'm just I'm just kind of putting it off. Tell people what can go wrong. What could go wrong with your air conditioning your heating system. If you're not doing that maintenance if you just kind of like AA, we'll get it next time. And because next time Dan, you know this, it becomes a week a month and then all of a sudden it's been a couple of years until someone has been at your house. And how wrong can things go when that's the case? Uh, can go extremely wrong, You know, I mean, your system is running almost year round here, and I mean, that's that's a ton of run hours a week we rated as Um, you know, a systems get pretty dirty. It's amazing how dirty they can get, like literally just six months and we typically recommend getting your system checked out every six months. You don't before the beginning of season and kind of after the summer's over. You don't get it tuned back up and ready for Ah, you know the next six months. And we talked about the fact that if you're docked work is in Prague. You know, if it's leaking, you could be losing air that you're paying to cool. Like you said. You're losing that in the erratic But it's not just that, is it, Dan, You're going to get some of the air some of that, and nobody likes to be up in the attic of that dust. Right? That's from the attic. It's going to go into the system and end up in your home as well, isn't it? Yes. So what happens is, you know your addict error is full of insulation, fiberglass or different cellulose. And there's this a ton of dust from the insulation and what happens when you're when you have a break in your duck work, or it's sucking air in its suck in all that dust and Particles and insulation into your system. And then it blows it around your house on DH, then circulated back through your air, hinder and then clogs up. Make sure your hands are all dirty and then passes it back through your house. So you're you're like you're breathing. All that. Nasty stuff from the attic. And I mean, I wouldn't want to knowingly breathe the attic in my regular or the aromatic regularly. I mean, I'd rather I'd rather not. I'd rather not. Absolutely No, I'd rather not previous, and I'd rather not cool the attic, dear. I think it works both ways. I don't want to don't want to waste my money, and I also don't want to breathe 30 Air, So it's obvious how important this is. And again it's out of sight. Out of mind. We kind of don't think about it, but It really is a lot more important than people think really quickly. Dan one more time for people who want to take advantage of the 58 Point tune up for $39. What's the phone number? Okay, It's 813. 71057577105757813 7105757 and again it's a 58 point tune up a 58 point tune up for $39. That's absurd. And listen, You've probably had an A C company at your house at one point, saying they were doing a toot up and they're in and they're out of there, like half an hour. They're talking about 90 minutes, two hours when they come out from heat wave, so they're not messing around. Not wasting your time and then to make sure You're not wasting your money, so make sure you give them a call. We'll have Maurin Formacion for you, Maura from our expert Dan Billingsley Mohr Right here on the heatwave air experts radio show on NewsRadio Wofl, a news, traffic and weather. "Dan Billingsley. Dan is the president of Heat Wave heating, cooling and plumbing and listen. Your air conditioning your heating system. It's important anywhere you live, but nowhere more important than right here in Florida because I gave my car go wrong. I don't care about that. I can have stuff in my life break. I'll get it fixed. You know what? I can't have break my air conditioning system. And that's why I know I need to rely on a company I can trust is going to be reliable is always going to be there when I need them. And that's why we're talking today With Dan about heatwave, Dan tell us why he wave is the best company for us when we're looking to maintain or replace our air conditioning system. Okay, so start I am a third generation doing air conditioning and plumbing. My grandpa did and my dad so I started a heat wave back in 2009. And since then we've done over 3000 installs here and we've done thousands of repairs and service thousands of customers. But what we specialize in is residential air conditioning service and replacement and plumbing services. We know how the houses are built around here. We know the codes. We understand the Florida climate, the heat the humidity on We know what it takes to get the job done right and making sure that you get the best bang for your buck and your house stays cool. Here in this Florida heat in the summer. Yeah, And obviously people can always call you there and heat wave and anything they need to know you guys are gonna be able to answer that question. But you also want to be able to answer some questions on the show today and you've had some emails come in and marry in. Riverview is one of those people and she had a question because, and I was surprised when I read this Dan, she said. That they just have a technician look at their air conditioning unit right? And they said it's time to replace it, But she's only had it for six years. She says. Isn't that too soon? Didn't I don't want to have to replace mine after six years. Isn't that a little too soon to have to replace in a C unit? Even here in Florida? Yeah, that's way, way way too soon. Um Air conditioning systems here should last a lot longer than that long as they're properly installed in the first place. Um, unfortunately, you know, we get called out for second opinions all the time. That's that's one thing that we do is a free second opinion. If you don't like the first opinion you've got so we come out and a lot of times we found people paid good money to have an heir to a C installed.

Big time. Um so like we're talking about Earlier with the 58.2 you know there's a lot a lot of things that go into that. Um you know, our guys are trained to look at your system as a whole, you know, and most people don't realize that your system is Made up of three major components. Um you know, you got your outside unit, which everybody knows about. You got your air handler, which sometimes going in a closet or up in the attic. You know where people it's out of sight out of mind. And then you have been afraid to go there, Dan, I'm afraid to go there. With that with attic like a lot of us. We you know, we love that you guys will come do it, cause we're just afraid to get up there, right. So we get up there. You know our guys is, you know, as long as it's middle of day, and it's not like 140 degrees in your attic. Um, you know, we can reschedule if we need to like for the first of the morning or later in the evening when it cools down, But a big portion of the system is actually in your attic. And that's where you know. Your duck workers. You don't around here. Most of all of our duck work is located in the attic. Um and actually the average home around here. Duck work loses about 20 or 30% of the air that moves through it through leaks and your ductwork in the attic thing, holes and Dan. You know, and unfortunately, all the ductwork goes through the attic. So, basically, just think about your mom growing up. If you're listening in your car right in your mom, you leave the front door open and we're not paying to heat the outside. We're not paying to cool the out. Just think about that. You don't want to pay. To cool your addict and you are saying 10 20 to 30% you could lose of the air You're actually pushing through or should be pushing through to your home within your ductwork in the addict. Yeah, You know, there's a lot of a lot of times a lot of leaks and holes or, like even duck work. We've even found on inspections where duck was completely disconnected. Just dumping cold air and your attic, You know, cool in your attic. I mean, There's no point of Ah air condition your attic and that just waste so much money on your electric bill. So if we're unsure about our duck work for onshore about any single part of Our system when it comes to our air conditioning heating. I guess The best bet is just have you guys out there for that, too? Not because I mean, you just gave us a great a great deal for our listeners. And if you want to reiterate that again so that they understand how great that deal is, But for that little money to be able to find out exactly how our systems working. It's it's a no brainer, isn't it? Dan? Yeah, Honestly, it is, You know, I mean, are like I said earlier are 58 point tune up takes 90 to 120 minutes, on average to inspect your whole system. And you know, right now we're doing it for you for just $39..

It's it's a no brainer, isn't it, Dan? Yeah, Honestly, it is, You know, I mean, are like I said earlier are 58 point tune up takes 90 to 120 minutes, on average to inspect your whole system. And you know, right now we're doing it for you for just $39. That's an hour and 1/2 to 2 hours. If you're bad at math out there, that's a long time to have somebody in your home for under $40 so it really is a great value. And again, if if somebody has been one of those people that Hey, I know my A C needs to get maintenance work every now and then. It can go extremely wrong, You know, I mean, your system is running almost a year around here, and I mean, that's that's a ton of run hours a week we rated as Um, you know, a systems get pretty dirty. It's amazing how dirty they can get, like literally just six months and we typically recommend getting your system checked out every six months. You don't before the beginning of season and kind of after the summer's over. You don't get it tuned back up and ready for Ah, you know the next six months, and we talked about the fact that if you're docked work is in. You know, if it's leaking, you could be losing air that you're paying to cool. Like you said. You're losing that in the erotic, but it's It's not just that, is it, Dan. You're going to get some of the air some of that, and nobody likes to be up in the attic. So that dust right that's from the attic. It's going to go into the system and end up in your home as well, isn't it? Yes. So what happens is, you know your addict air is full of insulation, fiberglass or different cellulose, And there's this a ton of dust from the insulation. And what happens when you're when you have a break in your duck work, or it's sucking air in. It's sucking all that dust and Particles and insulation into your system. And then it blows it around your house on DH, then circulated back through your air hander and then clogs up. Absolutely No, I'd rather not breathing, And I'd rather not cool the attic dear. Think it works both ways. Okay, It's 81371057577105757 8137105757 And again it's a 58 point tune up a 58 point tune up for $39. That's absurd. And listen, You've probably had an A C company at your house at one point, saying they were doing a toot up and they're in and they're out of there in like, half an hour. They're talking about 90 minutes, two hours when they come out. From heat wave, So they're not messing around. Not wasting your time. And then to make sure that you're not wasting your money, so make sure you give them a call. We'll have Maurin Formacion for you, Maura from our expert Dan Billingsley. C. needs to get maintenance work every now and then I know that I maybe I should have my duct work worked out I know that maybe my AC is not as efficient but I'm just I'm just kind of put it off tell people what can go wrong will go wrong with your air conditioning your heating system if you're not doing that maintenance if you just kind of like I will get it next time because next time did you know this it becomes a week a month and all the sudden it's been a couple years until somebody's been at your house and how long can things go when that's the case you can go extremely wrong you know I mean your system is running almost figure around here and I mean that's that's a ton of run hours a week we rated as you know system get pretty dirty it's amazing how dirty they can get like literally just six months and we typically remit recommend getting your system checked out every six months you know before the beginning of season and and kind of after the summer's over you don't get it tune back up and ready for you know the next six months and we talked about the fact that if your doctor work is in price you know if it's leaking you could be losing air that you're paying to cool like you said you're losing that into your attic but it's it's not just that is a damp you're gonna get some of the air some of that and nobody likes to be up in the attic so that dust right that's from the attic it's going to go into the system and end up in your home as well isn't it yeah so what happens is you know your addict there is full of insulation fiberglass or different cellulose in it there's just a ton of dust from the insulation and what happens when you're when you have a breaking your ductwork or it's sucking error and it's sucking all that dust and talk particles in it insulation in your system and then it blows around your house and then circulated back through your air handler and clogs up make sure your hands are all dirty and passes it back through your house so you're you're like you're breathing all that nasty stuff from the attic and and I mean I wouldn't want to knowingly breed the attic in my regular or their my attic regularly I mean I'd rather I'd rather not I'd rather not absolutely no I'd rather not pre the and I'd rather not pull the attic dear you works both ways I don't I don't waste my money and I also don't want to breathe dirty air so it it's obvious how important this is and get it out of sight out of mind we kind of don't think about it but it really is a lot more important people think really quickly Dan one more time for people want to take advantage of a fifty eight point two and out for thirty nine dollars what's the phone number okay it's eight one three seven one zero five seven five seven seven one zero five seven five seven eight one three seven one zero five seven five seven and again it's a fifty eight point two not a fifty eight point two and up for thirty nine dollars that's absurd and and listen you've probably had an easy company at your house at one point saying they were doing a tune up and they're in there out of there like half an hour they're talking about ninety minutes to two hours when they come out from heat wave so they're not messing around not waste your time and then to make sure that you're not wasting your money so make sure you give them a call we'll have more information for you more from our expert Dan Billingsley more right here on the heat wave air exports radio show on newsradio WFLA news traffic and weather Tampa bay's news radio WFLA protesters are marching to Saint Petersburg in response to the death of George Floyd Minneapolis officer David shaman is currently being charged with homicide and manslaughter for Floyd's death protesters are starting at Saint Petersburg city hall before heading to the police department meanwhile Martin County sheriff William Snyder says there's a great sadness what was done to George Floyd sure Snyder said yesterday that it is a new he says the issue of the interaction between law enforcement and minority communities have been going on for a long time in the U. S. and after being postponed due to bad weather SpaceX will try to launch astronauts to the international space station from Cape Canaveral today we've got a lot.

"Of heat wave heating and cooling welcome back to the air experts radio show I'm Pat Donovan I'll tell you what I've learned so much in a half an hour that I almost feel like an air expert but I'm not and your probably not to and that's why your air conditioning system is probably not running as efficiently and and maybe potentially not even correctly like it should be but that's why we have our expert we have Dan Billingsley with us to make sure that a first mine I'm selfish I'm gonna get my AC working with them but also to make sure that you can't as well if yours is not where it should be damned we talked a lot about duct work in the last segment but I really want to kind of let that hit home for people because I don't think people really understand if you were explaining to me during the break dock work really is the cause of so many issues that people deal with with their systems and it yeah actually it's it's one of the the biggest underlying causes of a lot of lot of lot of problems in our systems about ninety five percent of homes around the area have older broken severely undersized ductwork that don't fit with today's today's equipment US air flow rates your days of Quitman runs a lot differently than systems that fifteen twenty twenty five years ago in on this causes a lot of premature damage to your new equipment and causes high electric you know I mean so that's why it's such a big big point of our inspection is to inspect that dock work it's crazy and right to have a brand new system to have a brand new air conditioning unit and you're just restricting how long it's gonna last and how well it's going to work with the duct work right yeah all the ductwork that's up in the attic you know one thing is that you know flexible ductwork only has a twenty year lifespan in our climate realistically if your dog works over twenty five years old they need to be inspected and a lot of times are going to have to be replaced in order for your system to run properly too you know one thing about you know you're leaking ductwork is there's there's a way I can describe it to people you know if you were to take a five gallon bucket drill a bunch of holes in it filled up with water and you carry it from one end to your house to the other by the time you get to the other end of the house how much water you think is gonna be in that left in that bucket and what kind of problem you think you're gonna have so we're dealing with how's that maybe is cool but it's taking a lot longer to cool I would imagine Dan that it should and also it's costing us a lot more to call that I should write yeah and you know what happens is your lot of time share catchers on one side of the house and then you have them bedrooms or whatever it's typically up most the time it's a bedroom on the far side of the house and that you don't doesn't cool properly at night you know people are uncomfortable and I did you don't that's because by the time the hair gets down there it loses so much of it towards the attic there's not much left to cool at room and unfortunately people really notice those problems when they're sleep at night because that's when they spend the most time you know in those in those rooms so I've got another email question here from Liz and braiding ten she wants to her system she says it's only a couple years old and it's under warranty so why should she have to spend the money to have maintenance done if it's great if it breaks down it's covered right well sometimes you don't may that's actually is required by every single manufacturer and it's in every single AC manufacturers warranty paperwork it's in the fine print you know unfortunately we've seen in the past you don't several large warranty claims not be be approved because the customer wasn't able to provide you know proof that they've had their system maintained the last couple years I kind of goes back to that that car deal I talked about earlier you know if you go buy a brand new car you never change the oil in that motor blows do you really think you're going to get that motor covered under warranty absolutely not in the same thing in your AC gets dirty just like your oil in your car right Dan because yeah you know we may be brand new when you buy it but we we all go outside look at our units we know the stuff gets down in there in the fan when it's not running or even sometimes when it is running we have the lizards get inside and unfortunately sometimes lose their lives in there I mean we know there's so many things that can get in your unit and really kind of cause it to not work correctly or not work officially and when you can get that cleared up when you can find out what that is and make sure that all those things are working correctly for under thirty for under forty dollars at thirty nine dollars with this fifty eight point eight tune up he'd be a fool not to dance yeah you know it's really amazing how dirty your AC can get in a in just a few months six months to a year people don't realize that a dirty AC you know it causes their high utilities it causes premature breakdowns you don't I mean and then on top of that if it doesn't provide the level of comfort that you're paying your electrical your lectured bill for you know a clean AC runs so much better than a dirty one yeah there's there's no question about that and and Dan this is Dan Billingsley we have with us today he is our expert here on the air experts radio show he is the president of heat wave heating cooling and plumbing and tell us why heat wave is such a trusted brand in this community white why you guys have been you've been here for over a decade servicing the Tampa Bay area why people know you know the people that have been with you for a long time they know they can trust you they know that you're reliable anytime they need you since two thousand nine you know we've done you know a ton of installations in the area actually we've done over three thousand we've serviced thousands of customers in the last several years our technicians are fully trained we are you know our office we have full call center with live life call center reps you know able answer your phone call seven days a week you don't so that way we can you know when you've got of mercy break that we want to make sure we get out there as fast as possible you know you're not leaving a message on somebody's answering machine you know and that that gets a lot of a lot of peace of mind don't they know we're going to answer the phone to call and listen to this is Florida all right this is a very very different climate than a lot of the country a lot of us stand I'm not a Floridian okay a lot of us we're not you lifelong Floridians are like endangered species okay there's not a lot of and a lot of us don't really understand the climate even when we've been here for a while but what's great Dan is being modest it with what he's doing he's not telling you he's third generation he's been here a long time is family understands this climate and that Lee is important when it comes to servicing your AC unit isn't them yes it is you don't the one thing is you don't realize your AC goes out in July or June or August when you know when the humidity is through the roof I mean it it only takes a you know a couple hours in your spouse gets pretty uncomfortable you know almost some people too on controlled a bear so I want to touch on something else that we got into a little bit earlier because I think that this is important as well we have an email question about somebody would have their unit about six years and they have a technician tell them Hey I might it might just be time to replace it if in less it's an extreme case unless there's something that's that's really gone wrong inside of the unit or maybe you haven't done any maintenance right that's just that's way too early there's no reason any AC unit should be ever replaced that early if it's been correctly maintained right damn all correctly maintained on top of correctly installed you know unfortunately we see we see so many times that Erica she's just been slapped in there it wasn't designed properly size for the house the ducks system doesn't match the AC you know today's newer AC's specially you know within the last five to seven years the air flow you know I might start talking all technical here but they're full of air flow is designed differently we like don't talk to us ma'am those twenty twenty five year old ducks systems out there just aren't built for today's air conditioning systems and that causes a lot of problems there there's really a lot to it you know air conditions are complex there's a lot of moving parts and I think that's really important and I think a lot of people probably don't think about I certainly never would've Dan right into our conversation today I never would have thought about the fact that because I think a lot of people go out and they'll get that new unit and they won't they won't worry about the duct work but it's a lot like your health right like if you've got issues in one area it can affect another area in your health any commas is the same way with your AC unit isn't yeah it's it's exactly the same way if your AC unit you know if your ductwork is properly sized to allow the system to brief it's not leaking air into your attic or sucking air from your attic pushing your house your AC is gonna last a lot lot longer and you're gonna get you're gonna be much happier tell me about the technician to come out to our house because I think that that's a lot of things that you know people worried a lot especially right now right with everything going on Dan I mean I think that people want to know that they're gonna have technicians coming into their house if they can trust that are gonna do things in a clean way tell tell us about your technicians okay so every single person that works for us has to be criminal background check and drug tested it's company policy so that eliminates a lot of headaches right there so we you know we're not going to send out I'm not gonna send anybody at your house that I wouldn't send to my house when I'm not home all our taxes are always in uniform you know in our trucks are trucks every single one of our trucks is bright orange you literally can see them coming a mile away without even seeing the heatwave sign you'll know what's our truck when you see that bright orange truck coming down the street but unlike the other guy Dan right we're gonna see you in our driveway for a lot longer than just driving down our street.
