"Those who want to turn back the clock to time of greater inequity in social equity and those who want to go forward into an increasingly. Equitable multiracial future and that's seems what we're dealing with Damian. We spent most of our time talking about this a lot of people listening now. I want to hear about sports just like some of the people who are doing. Some of the people may who may just be. benighted like they really don't have much of an opinion because they just showed up to a football game and they don't have time for the news because they're working hard and they WANNA watch football. What did you think of the football game itself? First of all, I thought actually it was a very clean game. I mean think about this Max the fact that you had no off-season. So That means no OTA's no mini can't. The training training camp is not the type of training camp that we've been accustomed to for years. And when I'm watching the game online like. This is not a sloppy game. It's not feel with a bunch of penalties on anything like that here guys missed tackles. That's what's GonNa happen any getting you know when you're not able to hit, you don't have preseason games. So it's going GonNa you know tackled won't be sloppy but for the most part, the game actually was was pretty clean and then obviously from the city she's perspective I mean, they just got abundance of riches. Mask I mean listen Kansas. City. We talk about how explosive they are offensively. They were losing the possession battle think about that. They were just so much better than everybody that they said they had. We don't need to win Taylor blessing to beat you. We've just too good. We're GONNA win to explosive and we want to outscore you now you bring in cart at. Allaire. Who gave them another dimension? Running the football remember Andy Reid doesn't like running the football that's never been his forte. But now you've got this young dynamic running back we haven't even. It wasn't even exploded in the past game yet. But they gave him the ball way he had like twenty, twenty, five Terry's or something like that. Hundred thirty, eight yards they control the clock control time of possession if Kansas City can do that it's over Max with over before it starts and by the way lear, the whole thing was the whole thing about it was the dynamism the fact that he could be used in the passing game I didn't think of him as a guy who's going to help you. Clock control like time of possession stuff I thought Oh my God another weapon but you're right. They can beat you any way you WANNA, play the game. It is going to be a problem in the NFL for the foreseeable future with this Kansas City team Damian I got like thirty seconds any chance for the Texans this year their defense did not look good. Of course, they were playing Kansas City and look they've gotten off to some slow starts in recent years last year where they start one in three or something like that through four games. But they don't have de'andre any chance for them to make the playoffs based on what you saw last night. Live's not right up to Houston Texans. Okay. It's early in the season you saw the Not. Having more receivers. You know it showed up showed up last night. You know because deandre was that default guy like if I'm in trouble if I'm disabled Wasserman in trouble boom, I always go to the Andrea. Hopkins. 'CAUSE now. He's open. So what you saw last night is there was that the Alpha that he could go to and they just couldn't convey couldn't stay on the field he got tired and it was a rap basically by. The Great Damien Woody Ladies, and gentleman. Damian appreciate you coming on the show sharing your thoughts about the. Disgraceful booing of the players by the Kansas City fans last night, and of course, the analysis of the game and I. Hope You come back soon. Anytime. To be on the show. Beloved. Thank you brother Damien woody dropped one hundred pounds during a pandemic. When you're inside it's hard to exercise. With the wife's cooking everything Damian. What he's told me about that I don't know how he did it. But congratulations. I think I took the hundred pounds. Tip. The scales fully dressed the other day at two..

"To you by straight talk wireless. And I'm GonNa get to that and the game last night, which is the straight talks about the game last night. But I have to begin the show by talking about the fact that this is nine eleven today. This is the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack against the United States and our history. and. The mentioned this on I take today. that. Traumatic. Events even cultural societal traumatic events. There they. They become a demarcation of time. And the fresh traumas kind of start to put them in the past and new experiences put them in the past. and. Nine eleven, of course, the kind of immediacy of it and the freshness of the wounds in our psyches especially for those of us who lost loved ones and I knew several people died in the one in particular who died in the Trade Center. But no one. So close to me that would change my life. But those kind of events are. For those who suffer them personally. Start to fade over time the kind of feeling that you have about them, and that's a good thing because who could live with that kind of pain and anguish. Freshly every day for the rest of their lives. It's not the time heals all wounds but. it helps. This year felt different to me. And I, think it's because. Of the. Pandemic. which has is the latest crisis that is unlike anything else we've ever experienced not noted ever experienced anything like the attack on the Trade Center. It was attacked in ninety six, but it wasn't knocked down. To See those towers come down and the loss of life over three thousand people on that day. In the trade centers was something the trauma that we had experienced before. So we were unprepared for as a society and. Co Vid By the way now, it's over fifty times the number of American deaths as a result of covid. Compared to nine eleven over fifty nine eleven's. Fifty, it's close to sixty. Is this new next thing that we haven't ever dealt with before that, we have to kind of come to grips with our national psyche has to come to grips with. And I want to. Talk. About that for a second before we get into sports. The. Issue in nine eleven. Was Lobbyist. Antagonists. Not. Islamicist by the way Islamicist means you're studying. The Muslim religion. Nothing wrong with his llamas cyst. Islamist means you subscribe to a branch of militant Islam. And it. There's nothing wrong with calling that out. It is fundamentally illiberal. I want to talk about that for a second because this relates to the game. Last night. When I say Western liberalism, I want to be very. Clear because many don't seem to understand the concept they hear. Liberal and they think Oh we're talking about our own domestic political situation, a party, the Democratic Party. Liberal versus conservative. That's not what it means the definition of Western liberalism. We're talking about the the ideas that formed this country and that, and that are present in any thriving democracy Western liberalism, the respect for the rule of law for the freedom of speech for what you think of as a thriving democracy to our best ideals. That's western liberalism. and. We were attacked on that day by those who are illiberal. By those who were attacking directly those values. In, fact, since then or specially in the last several years, most terrorist attacks taking place against this country are taking place or at the hands of. A Rights extreme. Right wing. Nationalists and fashion and white supremacists who have carried out most of the terrorist attacks against this country and they too are illiberal. And just as was the case with. China in the NBA. Where that seemed to be politicized and China exerts great economic pressure around the world to silence free speech because so much business is done with China corporations don't want to mention though don't go against China because we've all this business with them. I was afraid at the time. To say, and we all should be able to say, Hey, repressive communist governments are bad unreservedly bad. I have no problem saying that. So I know it becomes a political issue with since then for the NBA for example, when the bucks wouldn't come out and play after as a show of Solidarity A. Because of police brutality toward black people and a lot of people who felt hostile toward that go where were you when you when when China was I was right here saying, Hey, on I take. Repressive Communist governments are bad. Freedom is good. I was right here saying that and I'm saying it again. Ill Liberalism Ill those who are illiberal who attack our values from the Islamist on nine eleven to domestic terrorists since then are bad. It's bad to be a liberal again, not the political party I'm talking about the ideals of Western democracy? That built this country in the best way. That's bad. You. That's what happened on nine eleven. People who are intolerant illiberal who? Hated US and hated those values. Of the best ideals of Western liberalism. and. That really brought our country together. And since then especially in recent years over the last several years. There's been a real illiberal tendency internally in this country. That reflected by the way in in white supremacist domestic terror attacks against the United States. Illiberal. Intolerant. Now. Let me bring this around to last night. I understand the. Tendency for some, to think. Do I have to see a political statement in my football game. I don't WanNA, see a political statement just play football I understand that sentiment. I, understand it I do all right enough already. Let me just play. We're here for a sporting event. Of course, when the military was repetitiously was secretly or secretly was under the radar, let's put it that way. Paying, remember paid patriotism and John McCain looked into this Republican senator in war hero looked into this. And investigated it and brought it to light. Paid patriotism. The military would pay major sports leagues to have these supposed patriotic ceremonies around military. During sporting events. Now did that seem like politics being injected into your sports? were no that's okay because you support the military, right? Sure. When you stand for the national anthem does that seem like injecting politics into your sports? Because it does it is no. No, that's just all being American. Yes. But if kneeling for the anthem is speech then standing for it. And why should an employee have to parrot their employer's political speech in order to have a job Colin? Kaepernick he shouldn't. Now, let me again get back to last night the players last night simply locked arms. You can't lock arms. For Social Awareness Without being booed. So as I said the most generous interpretation of. Of the brewers in the crowd is that Oh come on we don't want politics in our football and I can understand why the politics of the national anthem where military celebrations are invisible to them. It doesn't feel like politics. It feels like the way it should be but I'm here to tell you in fact, that's also political you just like that political message and you don't like this one maybe. That's the most generous interpretation but let me give you a less generous one and I think what just applies to some there I think what I'm about to say also applies to others. Less Jenner's generous interpretation is what Ryan Clark brought up on I. Take Today I thought very eloquent eloquently. When he said. If. It's breast cancer awareness people stand up and clap raising money for autism people stand up and clap. But if you're locking arms for black people, you get booze. Well, how else can you really interpret that at least for some of them there and maybe for some people, the motivation is multilayered. But even for the people who want to say. Just. Let's get back to normal what a largely African American league is telling you right now is yeah I know this pandemic wants it makes a lot of people who want to get back to normal normal was working for many of you. It wasn't working for us wasn't working from the for four, the community from which we come. So the reason I think of nine eleven? Today is obviously we're on the anniversary of it but have we learned the lessons of it really is it to be strong and to have a military pressure. Sure. Strength is good. American. Strength can be a very good thing but to me the real lesson. Is. To stand up for the best Western liberal values and to fight against and be aware of the.

"They needed to avoid the sweep they did. So by shaving heads and growing go tease or I should say manscaping goatee some growing goatee, it'd be a pretty you know to stop strom filled enterprise ot that overnight. You because that's off shaves his head then has a really good game. So there you go. So if the capital's rally in the series that means all capitols fans have to either shave their heads or grow correct. One hundred percent. Honestly it was amazing I. This team was lifeless for the first two and a half weeks of tournament. They showed nothing and then all of a sudden they have new haircuts and they look like damn good team so. There you have it. All right finally dateline. Tim Hortons. Follow along. Tim Hortons decided last year that they were going to roll out a hockey themed Barbie as part of a charitable initiative aimed at getting girls involved in the sport. She would wear a Tim Hortons. Jersey. It's your typical Barbie doll. One doll, the white typical standard-issue barbital. Amid protests against anti black racism in recent months according to CBC Tim, Hortons decided to delay the launch to make the product more diverse. There will now be a black Barbie and a white Barbie both Tim Hortons, jerseys, Helmet and hockey stick. And both obviously looking like they've never had to Morton's. Another hallmark of the Barbie doll only. We strike a blow for diversity courtesy of the Tim Hortons Barbie Doll. And it's not to say whoever Tim Hortons has in house or is paying for their marketing and advertising knows what they're doing i. think this is really smart. If you combine this with remember their tenure is lions the hockey team that commercial. had. Them play with McKinnon and Sidney crosby like this is good stuff and this is how you grow the game. There you go. also there. Cream filled Canadian maple doughnut gives me the shakes because of all the sugar inside of an it's great. Go Tim. especially, chase it with an ice cap while my God. I. "And Riley says that's enough and and puts the hammer down and really got the blues back on track if they if they start being the steamroller again, it's going to be because of the way Rhino Riley played in games three and four those back to back games. least, most valuable player and look I hate picking on him or this team because frankly they've got no business being here but it's Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadians who leads the tournament with the shots but cannot get a goal and if this team is going to win, they need some offense and I was actually Kind of excited to see what Kirk Muller could do behind the bench because he is offensive minded coach. He was GonNa let the players play a bit. He wasn't GonNa Bury Max Joe, me on the fourth line and we saw they had in that first game. But they have just been lifeless on offense and look the fliers haven't been much better either this is definitely been a defensive battle but they need to score goals they're out of the tournament, and by the time you listen to this, they probably will be. Barring the huge boring series and I hate it. Least Valuable Player from Jordan Bennington of the Blues I. I don't like doubling up in this category but my God man, Lake Oh and four, the tournament gets replaced by. Jake. Allen Guy who made his bones last year being playoff hero being the guy that you need to bounce back from a defeat took a couple els in this series lost crease dot come back with him in the second part of a back to back. So I mean until proven otherwise it's going to be jake gallons crease. Still trade it around. He's you know prove prove playoff performer after we did last year my God you can't take away a game seven on the road victory for the Stanley Cup away from anybody. but but his performance in this playoff for the blues was troubling in the Round Robin and then concerning the. Quarterfinals, and then he's on the bench finally favourite bubble trend or moment so far over in the Eastern Conference for you. Go back to the boring series. I am writing a feature on Carter heart right now and I am just fascinated by this kid and the way he bounced back from getting blown out in one game posting back to back shutouts was incredible. But my favorite moment was this quote from Jacob Ward check which I think is a beautiful quote. It's a good thing. He's a little too oblivious to some things like being goalie in Philadelphia. That's fantastic. For me my favorite thing I wrote about it this week. The weird nickname of Joe Pavelski in Dallas John Klingberg's spotted wearing a t shirt because thank you relaxed dress code that featured Joep. Avello skis face photoshopped onto the body of Joe Exotic from Tiger King. We come to find out it's because rupee hints were a Tiger Print Shirt to Dallas training camp one day or two Dallas Practice One day Pavel Ski mocked him mercifully for this somebody suggested putting. Space on. Joe. Exotic Spotty The Dallas artist. Gail. Yes. Because his name is Joe and he's making tiger thing. The Dallas Stars PR staff sent makes the shirt sends it to the Edmonson Hub Klingberg sees it says, I gotTa wear this and then now. The guy known as little Joe Paths and the big big PA- Veliki in San Jose is now known as Joe Exotic in the Dallas Stars. Locker. Room I. Love. Weird. Stories and the bubble is giving us more than our fair share. That man that's that's a team that's tight there I'm changing my cup stars all the way. There you go. Well, I'm I'm not changing my pick in the West it started as the Golden Knights Vegas and it continues to be the Golden Knights Vegas and now joining avalanche I feel pretty good. Feel. Pretty good. Yes. Joining us to talk about the Golden Knights of Vegas John Marshall Joining us now the line a member of the first team to advance to the Conference Semifinals Vegas Golden Knights Jonathan Marsha so joins us here on the line and Jonah the first off grads on the on the victory over the blackhawks. Solving Corey Crawford was tough that guy played pretty well last game series. Yeah honestly play the unbelievable it was. Differently on top of his game and It was actually to see him there because I know he's been struggling with some injuries in the prior years but it was nice to see how good he wasn't approach game go. Jonathan I want to ask you about your guys goalie situation and it specifically Marc Andre Fleury because as long as you guys have existed as a team, he's been carrying you the face of the net but you went out and got leaner and he's been such a great addition and it's put Marc Andre Fleury on the bench. How how's mark handle the situation? What have you guys seen behind the scenes? These, some really good friends my council maybe fan of them as well but I mean I mean we have a situation where we have one one piece. So it's I mean right now he's doing super well, and that awfully keeps going way on flowers. A great team mates I think you'd have to be here and they'll. They'll They'll do whatever it takes to to make sure a team is successful and these the great teammates so obviously must be a hard situation for him right now. But like I said, he's he's a great guy great teammate than the he doesn't put any attention towards the towards that. necessarily. And he keeps he every day keeps practicing one of the hardest gone still. So it's on his honor and the I'm not necessarily worried about the MARQUESS. Future. In the short time that the Vegas Golden Knights have existed I feel like you guys have a certain identity in the way that you play I, mean you and Riley Stone Carlson all these guys are just you're all two hundred foot players like you're all great offensively but then you also take care of your, business in the defensive zone, do you think that's sort of become the identity of the nights even even through the coaching change? I believe. So I believe that we have a lot of guys take a lot of Being good defensively and I know I and I know from experience a little bit that when we good as a team. would the nights when we're good defensively.

"Week with some quarter-finals superlatives as you know, emily has been covering Eastern conference I've been on the western conference and we have five categories that we're going to fill keeping in mind. This is a podcast we are recording it on a Wednesday many series may have ended by the time. You hear this many more may end. You know after you hear it the bottom line is that there's no good time do a podcast when there's hockey from dawn to dusk every day so we're doing our best. Began do it exactly what has been your biggest positive surprise in the Eastern Conference playoffs? So the second that I saw the ESPN predictions come out for this first round I cringed because I saw all of us picked the Carolina Hurricanes to advance and I'm like damn it. We're all idiots were sleeping on the Boston bruins and sure enough the Bruins who slept walk through the round robin have been fantastic in this next round, and again we're recording this. When the series is just three one, but they have woken up, they look like themselves and more importantly I think the way they handled the to Rask situation should be model for everyone because it was very clear to go was dealing with something much bigger than hockey much bigger than this tournament at home and the way that they stood behind him as a team excused his absence and said, we'll support him no matter what I think was really admire. Absolutely. Yeah and we'll talk about a little bit later on as well. For me in the West, the biggest surprise on the positive tip how good the Dallas Calgary series has been man I really off as being the one that should be on the golf channel right like when NBC's trying to figure out where to stick these series and I would say, the Blues Conducts has pretty much been on the golf channel. 'CAUSE that's at ten thirty PM central every night. That true. This series though with Dallas and Calgary would have been even more fun had matthew could chuck gotten hurt unfortunately. But as it stands goo good offensive series tightly played games like it's been fun to see these teams go at it you know maybe you want a little bit more counterpunch from Calgary hopefully that comes in the next couple of games. But Dallas is certain starting to round into form and and it's been. A punching above its weight series for me for sure. All right. My biggest surprise, negative I, WanNa say that canes third period collapsed in game four just because it was. So uncharacteristic them they're such a high character team and it was just tough to watch as as amazing bruins war. It was really cringe for the canes perspective, but the biggest disappointment is that this blue jackets Tampa Bay theories is not going seven games because I think everyone after we saw five overtime game is like in this series into my veins. Breakfast lunch and dinner. This is awesome. And it is but is very apparent that the blue jackets have played entering this game today on. Wednesday. Hundred more minutes of hockey than any other team in this tournament just ran out of steam and the lightning were able to finish them off. I'll go with the collapse. How `bout the Arizona coyotes in game four against follow avalanche seven, seven to one final. I, believe if memory serves. As coach Rick Talk that a debacle. An absolute debacle from his team this is an Arizona team that certainly was getting rolled in the first couple of games managed to squeak out a to make it two one thanks Darcy Campers Roic, and then just the wheels came off in that game as you the podcast. Very. Little chance that the cody's could still be in this tournament. WHO's to say it probably means that you know Kemper Ra Rancho a billion. But that game itself where you have a chance to really get back into the series and just absolutely get. stomped. Was My biggest surprise negative because I just even when the coyotes lose a game, you don't expect them to lose a game like that and they just looked disinterested as inferred. Maybe some guys don't want to be in the bubble anymore. I almost felt like the avalanche was to so pissed by the way, the Avalon, the coyotes played the previous game, which was, let's get the first goal and then put all five of our players in front of. Darcy. Campers you can't even see the net and avalanche like this isn't hockey. This isn't cool like we're GONNA. Be You guys up? All right my MVP. So far of this next round, it's kind of we just don't talk about enough and he's so good. It's Brad Marchand like they this guy and his linemates Scott eviscerated in the first round they went scoreless they don't want to be there. They don't look like themselves and he's without David Pasternak for three games in a row and what does he do three goals? Seven points in four games as just carried the load offensively he looked sharp as ever and I just want to give them due credit because I feel like anytime we mentioned Brad Marchand it's always about his antics on the ice but he's a damn good hockey player offensively and defensively to absolutely and and Lorette. Mvp Me isn't on anyone yet. Wally can't covert World Emily my God you badge. Suspension. MVP for. Me Is Rhino Riley. that. His. Performance in that series against Vancouver so far in both ends of the ice it's been incredible. Just, absolutely cratering whoever's playing against from a possession standpoint getting offensive production basically decided in game three Yeah. This is GonNa be a series again and put it on his shoulders to do so. They, don't have. Tarasenko. They were reeling after the first two games people you know rightfully asking, are they a little bit slow? Can catch up to these quick little Vancouver..

"Hey. Emily. Greg. Our thanks to brayden point for ending overtime before we started recording and therefore ending the lightning versus blue jackets series which. Sits thanks for the jackets. Five overtime game valiant elimination of the Maple leafs in the first round any team that sends the city of Toronto into a psychological spiral over playoff result deserves our our love and adoration. But at the same time, it would have been really awkward to do the show as the lightning and jackets were embarking on like a six overtime game. It would have been a little weird. A little weird because I would not want to hear your live reaction for goal. Well that would have been exciting. It's odd be more worried about my live reaction for the continued parade of penalties not called on the Columbus blue? Jackets game. Listen it's a settled matter. The series is done, but I gotTa tell you right now if here, Luke Dubois knew that he could just take a metal pipe and smash brayden point in the back of the head with it before he shot that puck and would not have been whistled for it based on the available evidence in this series I mean he probably should have done it right like you probably should have just done it and they'd still be playing. Saying. All. Right. Coming up on this edition of ESPN and I. Got Two awesome guests. Job At. The march. NFL players approve new CBA, runs through 2030

"Radio one big measure that allows the NFL to move forward with business as usual is the approval of the new CBA time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk wireless players this weekend voting in favor of the new collective bargaining agreement which means there will be labor peace for the next decade it also means that we will see a seventeen game scheduled as early as twenty twenty one the vote was close closer than many had expected ESPN analyst Damien woody clearly there's a lot of work going on as far as it relates to this new CBA deal you're talking about a difference with two thousand roughly two thousand please holding only fifty votes sixty votes were the difference on what this new CBA passing another narrative was you had the big money players you know saying no and rank and file is going to be it's going to follow through but that wasn't the case that was clearly not the case but it's both clearly there was a lot of racquetball player they did not agree with that with this new CBA also the union has some work to do CDA passes this weekend but as you heard passed by a margin of just sixty votes ESPN front office insider Louis Riddick yeah it's one of the situations where obviously you can you can tell that there's a lot of the desert there's a lot of uncertainty when you have the you know a boat that was separated by less than a hundred boats as far as accepting this new deal not accepting his new deal obviously there were people not just the top one percent of your top five percent with the rank and file as well that we're not comfortable with this you're talking about making deals like this but I understand that was part of the rank and file one point time and understand what our media hundred thousand dollar increase would mean but I you know I also believe that you know there really wasn't a chance of there being a work stoppage in twenty twenty they're gonna play games this year regardless and I think you know having been on the front office side of things and I've been around contract negotiators for the better part of the past two years of my post playing career twenty two years my post playing career when you have leverage you have time on your side the smart ones are the ones who try to lock you into long term deals early and entice you with cash flow immediately because they know they're going to make it back on the on the on the backside they're gonna make out it sounds like that's exactly what the owners got the players to do and I think once you start breaking it down and talking to people who really understand how CBA negotiations once before but the revenue sharing split actually really is and how revenue is going to explode once now owner start negotiating TV deals your movie centered on some one time prior to the two thousand eleven CBA that we were basically net net fifty fifty partners in now we're forty seven percent partners and we're going to forty eight point five percent part how did that were not actually fifty fifty partners anymore when we basically are the capital where the human capital and tried the game and we signed a deal that with the Europe tour early and we didn't have really any reason to do so because they were going to stop us from playing really this year anyway so there's a lot of questions I'm sure and that that right there it looked like it in the wake of both played itself out we really didn't get into this look man I mean I'm I'm I'm happy that he won because football is my life and that's you know I everything I have I owe to playing the game at the highest level inflated manifold the deal making deal making and owners are very good deal making I think they showed once again you're talking about the vote we have a lot of social reaction the Twitter reaction early on on the show in the ravens Marlon Humphrey tweeted that five hundred players didn't vote on the CVA we have the numbers last that's about right what do you say to that that's "Terms of the pieces that we need in order for us to be at the next level and I'm continue to reiterate it we're going to do the best with the guys that we have within our locker room now. It's just something that we signed up for. We knew what we were coming into. The beginning of the season guys are going down left and right for us you know. Gt's Al Dj got her tonight. Wilson's just coming back and have complementary young guys as well have done a great job for last year so collectively so like we have great pieces but obviously that it's pretty glaring that one more piece or two more pieces that will complement myself Katie. DGT'S SPANS Karasin. We'll see kvas one or two more pieces that will complement myself in Katie just inexcusable inexcusable. I'll get to that a little bit later on in the show show can't wait to take your phone calls on that matter but we have some breaking news That we need to address right now as of minutes ago literally minutes ago. Oh as first reported by Yahoo Sports followed up invalidated again by ESPN Carlos Beltran. The new manager for the New York. Mets has been fired. He is no longer the manager of the New York. Mets for those of you who do not know This scandal involving the Houston Astros and they're Signed Ski Stealing Scheme that was exercised during the two thousand seventeen world series and postseason overall. Are they won the world series but they were stealing signs a technological advancement they had equipment placed out in Centerfield field or monitor place near the dugout where they literally could monitor the signs at Catcher was given a pitcher and they were stealing these signs signs are to facilitate better at bats for their hitters. It ultimately delivered a world series to them. We don't know how far far it extended beyond that. Because according to the Commissioner's report nine page report it stopped around September of twenty eighteen or whatever and they ultimately lost in the postseason that year. The Boston Red Sox had one. If you recall Alex Cora the manager for the Boston Red Sox was was the bench coach for the Houston Astros at that particular moment in time at twenty seventeen Winning the world series obviously helped him get jobs manager with the Boston Red Sox where he won the world series using twenty eighteen The Boston Red Sox announced that they mutually agreed to part ways about thirty six hours ago. We all know that was a lie. Alex Cora Gore was fired and obviously would would Carlos Beltran being a manager ultimately he has been dismissed. It's appropriate because if he was dismissed. It's clear that he was involved in the signs stealing scam and and as a manager URA leader and you set a standard that others support as opposed to follow for those of you wondering why players themselves yourselves clearly complicit in all of this because if guys are banging trash cans to indicate to you what pitch is coming next and you're a player and you listen listen to it that means you will fully aware of the scheme you are participant in the scheme and you did nothing to stop the scheme from continuing so they are Bevy of Houston. Astros are guilty of this but according to numerous reports of the Commissioner's Office essentially granted the players immunity in the event that they told the commission. Exactly what was going on. And that's why the players are not being punished list for this and instead the punishment is being exacted against the managers and in Houston case general manager as well. Excuse me cough second as for those who want me to again. Highlight why the managers and not the players. It also is important to point out that in September of twenty seventeen prior to the Astros winning their world series. The Commissioner Rob Manfred Manfred has sent a letter to all the teams front offices manages etc.. Letting them know that they were hearing about about such activity and it needed to cease and desist immediately and if it did not the manager and the general managers would be held accountable. That was his warning to the respective teams. Houston obviously didn't stop got caught. And that's why the manager and general manager or without a job Alex Cora the bench coach in Houston before becoming a manager in Boston so he was a part of back to back. World Absorb Champions Houston and then Boston clearly to cheating tendencies. He's gone and Carlos Beltran if you're the mets while he was a player or are you going to punish him because he's a manager now that's what and what kind of example you setting now if indeed you keep your job. That's clearly the position dishes that the mets are taking. Why must have met take this position? Why could they not sit idly by? Just let things go. You know why because they're in the same cities cities The New York Yankees. That's why New York Yankees just acquired Garrett Cole Off Season The New York Yankees are clear favorites to win a world series. They are the Bronx bombers. They are the standard. The mets are perennial fairweather. Step children to the New York Yankees and with the Yankees expecting to have the season. We're we're all expecting them to have this season. There is no way around the fact that if you are the New York mets you cannot. You cannot have the back pages of every sports section in the city and throughout the baseball community when they talk about you this issue dominating the headlines when you're up against the New York Yankees that's just not going to cut it. That's just not gonna cut it and so it's because of that reality that the mets had had to take this position there is no way around it. It was the right call the make and there's no way to.

"And I'm just trying to hold on to the fact that I'll not yet. I doubt boys with my pink. I'm GonNa Ride Dow now until the whole thing comes crashing down the Dallas cowboys should be ashamed of yourself. You really really struggle as you. You Know Loire saying that. Shame on you. Shame get Outta here Damien Woody. I talked to the moat. Take it easy woody right here with Steven even at ESPN radio ESPN. Is it say. ESPN three seven seven six. Let's go to John. You Lava Stephen. They what's up John. Go on all right right man. WHAT'S UP I? I lost all bunch of cool points with the brothers this morning. math forgiving The New Ryan you know what I'm saying. The benefit of the doubt Out Man for so many years. The black quarterback the black athlete has been labeled as not being able to not being able to make the throws night being able to read these rights. Right sorry this all right there. Stop Stop Stop. I said demand deserve to be suspended. I said the comment was stupid. It was insensitive and it was ignorant but he didn't deserve to be fired. Are you saying he deserves to be fired. Those what we didn't hear you. Are you saying saying. He deserves to be fired. Their black athletes. Are you going to answer my question. You don't get to call up and just talk Bro. I'm asking you questions and you just keep talking but you have an the answer my question so hold off a second. Do you think he deserves to be fired. Yes I do because you should know no better you should know that that will not be tolerated. We are not accepting of that anymore right so you do understand that when that happens has the slightest thing a black person says about. Why do they going to end up being they're gonNA use that for justification? Fires at black beat. You understand that right. Do it all the time. That's not true that that's not true. They do other things that are grotesquely unfair but in terms of things that you say over there waves so could make the argument that some black folks get get over more so than white folks in that regard because from an historical perspective. We know how this treated. What level of mistreatment we have suffered from and as a result the level of understanding that comes according to us because of insensitive remarks that may come and may emanate out of our mouths? Some would say say. Oh no black. Folks do not get held accountable to the degree that White folks do in specifically in that regard. You understand that your I understand it more more so often you know they don't even get the opportunity to show what we could do out there on the football field manual. You Ain't GonNa get me to deny the fact of the matter is that we live in a society where there's a whole bunch of racism and there's a whole bunch of racial and sensitivities that take place and African Americans in this country have been historically and even to this present day victimized by that there is no doubt about that and that's the kind of thing that has to be addressed. What I'm saying is it needs to be something greater than this because the fact of the matter is? What is it in Tim? Ryan history that warrant. Tim being fired. How can we can look at ignorant dumb ass statement? You deserve to get suspended Ford and Dachshund pay but given opportunity to keep his job and to be able to feed his family because of one insensitive remark they. We've taken that job away from a black man and I just highlighted for you how that wasn't true and even you agree to that you said on other things yes. They are grotesquely unfair to us but in this industry as it pertains to wrong words coming out of your mouth this plenty of black folks that have said things that are highly questionable as still kept their jobs without even get suspended at all. Is that true. Yeah that's true but this right here. This comment statement ain't GonNa do nothing but if half the next somebody say something else that's is not true because it's going to highlight it and as a result the next person that does it is going to get is going to get the hammer brought down because you already liberty already learned how how insensitive. And they'll wrong. That could be and if you do it now then of course you're GonNa pay a price sport where he needs to. He needs to still got you. I I got you know we. We disagree in terms of him being fired. I do not think he should lose his job. And if you want to say that I lost points so be it. I lost points. That's how I feel about it to me. I'm GONNA bring the hammer down or things that are far more significant than that because I don't want plausible deniability where you can literally sit there and say I just made a mistake because then that that means when a black person makes a mistake. Guess what you're gonNA use that as an excuse to fire them as opposed to acknowledging they made a mistake but I respect your opinion. I really really doing. I appreciate the call in at eight..

"Only yeah progressive DOT COM and on privileged to have my next guest just finished doing an outstanding ending job for us on. I take this morning on. Get up before that Obviously contributes to NFL live on a weekly basis as well. I'm talking about the one and only two time superbowl champion Damien. Woody is on the line with us right now is going on big boy. How will you met on wall man how you doing? I'm doing great man. Listen before I get into the Dallas Cowboys Chicago bears game night. Not GonNa keep you longer the day because of the slower guests that I got into boxing in a UFC world. But I had to get some football in ear for this question to you. Tim Ryan The radio analyst for the forty niners China's obviously was suspended for game after talking about Lamar Jackson fashioned. That he did basically talking about the dog. pigmentation makes it easy for him to hide the football all these kinds of things indicating that contributes to this success to some degree your reaction when you learned about that and ultimately the one game suspension that he received as a radio broadcaster gaster well first of all out saw. I had to do a double tape because I couldn't believe that somebody would really come on the mouth and say something as ignorant is that So that was my my for my first thing and I thought we had a really good conversational. I I take Stephen a About this by this whole subject because what the common does it diminishes the diminishes what Lamar Jackson has done on the football field. Okay okay we see this a lot when it comes to you know. A black athletes particularly like black quarterbacks people always look into diminish the accomplishments Schmidt's what are the things that they're doing the football well there's accessible because of the they're successful because of that no there's accessible because the hard work and then tell us and the things that they're the work that they're point is to make them successful we. Do you know withdrew. We don't say these things about drew. brees Tom Brady. Philip Berber a manager. So why in the world we feel like we have to say these type of things justify why an African American flag is playing so well in the national football league so so I'll disappointing in the comment but I don't think I don't think he deserves lose his job. I think it was just an ignorant comment but I don't know if it was necessarily a racist comment uh-huh I agree with you that he doesn't deserve to lose his job. But why are you supportive of it in that fashion I am you are. I gave my reasons. What's what's your reasons for supporting him? Not being fine well because I spill like you run a slippery slope. I think sometimes you gotta gotTa give people an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and here and have dialogue of why so bad to make that common in the first place. We're in squareness this society where everything is. Is this whole castle castle culture where somebody takes misstep. Oh I don't want anything I want them to be done. I want them to be fired. Okay if you if that's what you WanNa go I mean people can take this can go to with anybody is so. Is that where we WANNA go as a society we need to. Have you know an opportunity to have dialogue and have people learn from the mistakes and then people can move on from a not. Have this whole cancel. Culture that we're in now Damien woody right here with Steven. ESPN RADIO ESPN news. I completely agree with you. And I'm of this mindset Damien. I mean we gotta be careful wondering auctioning. Aw Opening Certain Pandora Boxx. 'cause rules apply to everybody a but be it's like it's also from the purposes of our industry. We gotTA gotTa get to a point where you gotta be careful. We want people to tell the truth. Don't we we want people to say. Hey you you hit it on here because a lot towns I always say if you give people enough they'll put their foot them out so a if somebody wants to out themselves bombing let them out themselves. They may right here Stephen. ESPN RADIO ESPN. Let's transition some football items Let's get into Dallas cowboys. Chicago bears game tonight. What's the number one thing you're looking for out of this game? I mean listen for me. It's about the Dallas cowboys. Took office big data score. Aw touchdown in the red zone. Steve Mail the last five days in seventeen trips to the red zone. They've only seven five. Sounds okay. You can't have all this great great personnel Dak Prescott playing at all pro level guys. Zeke Elliott officer lines. You've got some weapons you everything and you can't score in the red zone. So that's the difference as to why the downtown was has been struggle low last five games. They're not cashing in when they get to the red zone so what can they do to rectify that. Should they be given the Zeki Ball. The ball more Shakila more and Jason Garrett continued to go to business a finding out what does Prescott is worth having him. Football Amari Cooper in Gallup's of the world. What should they be deal? It's what they should be even a IT'S A. It's an area that they under under you live running that Prescott more in the zone. Read option type of Game Stephen they are second in the NFL when they run to the zone. Read option second but they don't wanted enough and particularly you get to the red zone or the feel is condensed and it's it's just horrible harder for you to move the ball. That's an area of their game that they can utilize an expose a lot of teams with because they have an athletic quarterback. Ah Let's transition to the Chicago bears. Because that's the team they're going up against you talking about. What the Dallas cowboys could do remember? They're going up against the Chicago. Bears Defense. That's a top five defense in the National Football League ninth against the past seven against the run but we know the person now that they've gotten a defensive side of the ball led by Khalil. Mack and those boys to me me Jackson and others in that squad. They ben but they don't necessarily break too often. How do you feel about what you've seen from 'cause we talk about them like they're six and six but we're forgetting they wanted three of their last four games? Well here. Here's the deal with the bears. And I and I actually spoke on this before the season. I said the bears won't take A. Is that back out for a couple reasons. One Vic fangio moving on but number two Stephen Aid they would. They laid the lead and take ways last year by large margin that doesn't repeat itself year and a year out so the one thing that the bears. They're they're playing good defense but they're not getting the takeaways like they they were last year and so when you had that combined with the way the officers played secretly with Mitchell trubisky. That's one of the bears are sitting right there. Six and six. Thanks so trubisky is playing better and as long as your business plan burt. They're going to have a chess every week because the bears defense really good. Do you believe in Mitchell. It's a biscuit or did you give up hope on him. No No. I'm willing to ask you a question before you even finishes. No I'm not a big believer in Mitchell trubisky. I feel like the Chicago. Bears are wasting you know one of the best defense in the national football league with Mitchell trubisky. I know he's a young quarterback I get it. They can't do do anything about you. Know the draft and you know the fact that they passed up on the Washington Patrick Mahomes but when it comes down to it when it's crunch time so you need plays. He's not good guy. He's not guys that I feel like in Chicago. Bears in a critical situation and score the critical points. Nestor to elevate the Chicago bears to the next level particularly in their own defense. Because right now they're staying up at Minnesota. Vikings widens the Green Bay packers. What about Matt Nagy? What are your thoughts about him in the jobs that he's done I think he's done for jobs year? Listen you know the type of quarterback that you you have the Mitchell trubisky. What made him so successful? Last year was how they utilize in particularly outside the pocket. Mitchell trubisky as the athletic quarterback. That's what he's he's really at his best. Get them outside the parties let him go around and make some place and what we saw. What we've seen from Matt Nagy? It's almost like he's trying to he. It was trying to constrict Mitchell trubisky and have your plan certain way when it's not that's not his game. You know the foul play. Paul is doing things to accentuate way back to your players and he hasn't been doing that consistently with Mitchell trubisky tonight I I Allah.

"All right man listen man before I get to asking you this question talk about the Cleveland Browns and getting into it with a reporter let's well when the penalty happened where behind the chance to stop saying but I just told you the clock was uh-huh what's cheeses throwing that was Baker Mayfield out of I like to Kanter I like the Abrasiveness at times the fiery your thoughts about what you're seeing from Baker Mayfield at this particular juncture Damien woody not bad chip on his on his block that he's had four going back be in the heisman trophy winner going onto being number one pick in the NFL draft. Where a AH Damian I'm going to interrupt you let me know when you're signal gets clear because we've been having some trouble the two not three seven seven six I'll get back today Mir woody in just a second but that's not the only the jets for trying to trade him? Douglas obviously denied that said he was just listening the move somebody but Jamal Adams was finished with that yesterday he clapped right back Hedley as he always does you know I hold myself in high regard take delight I I I really did but you know when when I when US Open high-level Rams don't they don't they don't take calls on Donald I love these Jamal Adams I love the fact that brother for him you can't mention yourself in the same the hell you want to stay with the jets but I'll get into all of that with my man Damien Woody I love Bacon I love Bravado I do I do but I think you have to learn is a detriment to the bigger pitches detriment to the team so uncertain CEO he's a representative of the Cleveland browns and when you have outbursts like that how worried are you about the Cleveland browns with him leading them talking about leading a franchise that's been abominable who has who was the position coach then on top of that you help guide injury they got a bunch of young players on this team so I the higher Freddie Kitchens as head coach for a long time to go from a position coach offensive coordinator right here Steven they sort of show. ESPN radio ESPN News Jamal Adams I just he fielded calls from other teams about him. What did you make of that whole situation with Jamal Adams a very good player there's no no one can dispute that very good player but CNA that's not necessarily a premium position when you're talking about building the team in a situation like the jets were one six enquiring about a player let's cowboys and for the listeners out there Jamal Adams is from the Dallas area field and you know all the amazing stuff but they don't see the dirty the jets I think that they've been an abomination over the last couple of years I think the Hiram Adam Gates he has an obligation to listen to phone calls and listen to what somebody has sick I could sit up Ebina four and twelve over the last two seasons respectively what if somebody not to say that this would happen just don't hypothetical I think there tomorrow has to understand that but my biggest thing Damian is this here's the part is the first I believe that David I don't believe I don't believe I don't believe that a rough road I always said this before I came to New York man I always said that if you win in New York in good and a long time but you know when the when the whole thought of going did that I don't think he wants to be here but he's GonNa put on a straight was doing his due diligence only supposed to do was just trying to and just notice the what we're dealing with the Patriots but the Baltimore Ravens father well this is this is by far the Patriots biggest test ah coach Belichick knows that and incomes here comes the Baltimore Ravens he he's you know they they incorporate him a lot in the running game and that's something that that make Lamar Jackson beat he beat them through the air if they do that they got you know what's even that's a very good question because person that actually before the season said something glowingly blow off the Oakland raiders relevant the Oakland raiders coming around with Josh Jacobson the Backfield and their raiders offers align boy he's doing one hell of a job in Oakland this year I really do they're far more competitive than I thought a five and two raiders team right now I really do instead of they can run the ball they got a you know a pretty good office online they're always not pieces on that on that race team they just need to they need to keep accumulating that's the Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals who's the worst team football I'm GonNa say Cincinnati I am I'm going to say when I watched in Pittsburgh steelers because they did they paid it they actually to me has gotten better so if I had to look at the two organizations and say which one is heading in by San Francisco like fifty one to thirteen now that the honeymoon is over listen I I still I still think that he the forty niners are that good they are legit in every I live being that he's a parking passer than diminish Cam Newton as an athlete thinking about their Defense Dick Poster is a monster he's going to be defensive rookie of the year as far as I'm concerned them that we're missing clearly not just defense and the way they play defense legitimate title contenders well see listen everyone talked only about the defense in a game and on top of that they gotta play calling Kyle Shanahan if they do some very interesting things offensively that make you say wow the only component that needs to be short on honestly as Jimmy Garoppolo Stephen A I I don't know I don't know about the moves looking around the NFC conference I'm thinking about Dallas and if you have more of an urgency a wide receiver like Aj Green from Cincinnati he's going to win now that they didn't acquire any new players to ultimately captured NFC east crown start playing better particularly in the secondary you know those guys have to start acidly you learn run into a lot of issues so for the Philadelphia Eagles? I hope people aren't doing that because if they can get the Sean Jackson Back Eagles team won't be right they're going to have a say in all of this in the NFC Roger Elevating Above Russell Wilson as league MVP right now I have it the other way around but fully well I would give I will give as who Russell Wilson because I think he's been more in the NFC north is is fascinating to me I think the Minnesota Vikings a big test for them when they play these team when they play the packers play the packers now kirk cousins is on fire Damien. Woody appreciate you bro Finish editing seven to nine three seven seven six back to your calls and more in a minute so don't touch that dollars Stephen you don't have to before they started many of their graduates could turn a computer on and off and that's about it now littlest four months even if you're not a techie it ain't rocket science it's my computer.

What's up big boy how you doing I'm good my brother how you doing? all right let's get right to it man we got a Thursday night game here everybody's thinking that Democrat really really give Kansas City a run for its money tonight on its home turf in the Mile High City primarily because Patrick mahomes not one hundred percent with that the continuous ankle injury etc talk to me about what you're seeing from both teams thus far and how often are you in the notion that the Denver broncos could actually make this a serious series game tonight we'll even aid the broncos are starting to come starting to come on it come into his own they won two straight of Vic Fangio has gotten US defense got this defense humming their top five right now the one the do a couple of things that concern me? As far as the Kansas City chiefs observe number one they cannot stop the won their thirtieth against the against the rush and the AH THE DENVER broncos with Philip Lindsay their rushing attack it's really coming on the Kansas City Chiefs Dick Tom Tom Possession they'll only it's only at twenty twenty one minutes so that isn't good when you're talking about achieves defense that's just like a nose bleed right now so they've lost two straight both their home and then you're going to begin the Denver Broncos team but division rival that can expose one of the things that you just is not good at so this this is GonNa be very interesting to watch when you talk about the Kansas City chiefs are we looking at a team that would will lose to doing the Patriots if they don't get their act together or you of the mindset that it could be far more detrimental than that they might not be ended up being one of the top three teams in the AFC if they don't fix the ability to defend the run this situation forget that the new England ages for right now this is a situation where they might not be wanted you know one of the top two teams as far as seating is concerned don't play offs I mean you're talking about team that's lost two straight You lose this gay man and I think you only one game ahead of the next anybody division and I think that's the Oakland raiders so you know this isn't that like last year where the Kensington Cheese had number one seed in the AFC this team that's her I think defensively has been more sable what's been going on last year the can't stop the run Patrick Mahomes that the league MVP from two thousand Eighteen is is horrible he can't move around as well as he been accustomed to so they got some issues going on and it's GonNa be it's GonNa be a tough and grimy and all her Damien woody right here with Steven. ESPN radio ESPN news when you saw Kansas City against Houston last week is that what you walked away they can did you walk away thinking we've been talking so much about Patrick Mahomes we forgot his young brother does Shawn Watson is something special or listen I don't think anyone forgot about the Shawn Watson because he's clearly I in the MVP conversation but the one thing I will say about the Houston Houston Texas When watching in Texas one thing that that's become pretty apparent is the show washes not getting sacked and it as much as he was early in the season the last two weeks I don't think he's been sack one time and I think a lot of credit has to do with Larry total coming over the tree in acclimated at left tackle spot but you also credited show watson for getting the ball out getting the ball out quicker you know one thing about the Shawn Watson it's much of a magician that is at the quarterback position he his to hold onto the ball because he wants to play but sometimes you gotta just take a defense gives you give give her the ball and it's taken hits off of the show wash it you're absolutely right he got sacked eighteen times in the first four games of this season has not been sacked in the last two games against and Kansas City we're talking today woody right here with Steven A.. ESPN RADIO ESPN news. So if I asked you a put you on the spot to list in order to top teams AFC Right now who would they be the top five teams in the AFC right now in order the team I would have to say the New England Patriots New England Patriots Number One I'll I'll probably go with Houston X.'s number two right now I'll probably put maybe the Kansas City chiefs said number three Indianapolis Colts at four and and I would say probably Baltimore Baltimore Number Five House so those are my and also I'm GonNa throw another team this even hey Watch out for the Oakland Raiders Okay Lewis really who said before the season that this team is going to be better than well a lot of people they were going to be this Oakland Raiders team is legit and people need to watch out for them because they could sneak visit a mix the Oakland raiders allergy the Oakland Raiders All legit the Oakland Raiders are in the or in this mix and in the playoff run so we can You can't dismiss the Oakland Raiders what Jon Gruden is done in Oakland so far I mean you gotta remember this is a team that went to London and smack down the Chicago Algal bears team that a lot of people thought Oh this is Chicago bears could be a super bowl team so the Oakland Raiders Squirrel in the midst as well let's continue because you know when you talk about Baltimore you brought Baltimore into the equation Obviously markets are Got Traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Baltimore Ravens same data Jalen Ramsey got traded from Jacksonville to allay let's take one trade at a time tell me about Pitas I how do you feel about him getting moved to the Baltimore Ravens what do you think that's GonNa do for the Baltimore Ravens at this particular juncture well listen Marcus Peters is he's aggressive man to man type of corner but you know when you look at the Baltimore Ravens on particularly deep needed help him that secretary secondary particularly corn and I think more so his his mindset fits into that coach that Baltimore has on defense and when you have Earl Thomas and that secondary I mean they got a bunch of players on that team but yet earl Thomas Beck back there on the back end I think he will fit in well what they do with the Baltimore Ravens because that was one area they definitely need to show up Damien woody right here with Steven A.. Let's stay within the AFC transitioning to the NFC talking about this Jalen Ramsey situation I suspect we won't be hearing about back problems or flu like symptoms or anything like that I think he's GonNa be ready to go now that he's going to be a member of the Los Angeles Rams how do you feel about this move for him to laws Angeles what do you think it does for the rams what do you think it does for the Jaguars for him to be gone for them to pick up two first round picks in exchange for him along with a fourth round pick. well listen make the mistake about Jalen Ramsey Lee corner I think he's one of the you know two or three best corners in the national football league so anytime you're able to add calabro play it that you know that the rams have jalen Ramsey it's going to help your team I will say this doesn't help to it doesn't help the office alarm block better which is fit the crux of the issue for the Los Angeles Rams it doesn't help their running game doesn't help them protect Jerry Gulf better and and helping Jerry Golf to stop with the crazy turnover so you know although it's it's another big piece on the defense they gave up a lot Los Angeles Rams give a lot for jalen Ramsey and I don't even know if it moves the needle to be honest with the record order of the NFC west because I still look at Seattle and services school at the better teams in that division where I look at it is I I think it helps them defensively but offensively it doesn't do anything for them to rams just think saying without Todd Gurley and I'm starting to wonder whether tiger is going to ever is going to ever ever ever be okay to be quite honest you 'cause I'm just not sure anymore I'm really what about you but he here's the thing even when when when you start handle were arthritic guess what those don't get better kate they only get worse as you as progressive alone so I know the loss of Wales has been on this load management type thing situation with tyrod early but they made a huge ooh financial investment and Todd Gurley and quite honestly since they've made that investment he just hasn't been the same Damien woody right here Stephen Eight ESPN radio ESPN news who's the best team in the NFC right now Damian I want a New Orleans Saints Stephen they they haven't they haven't had their they haven't had the starting quarterback drew brees and what sixty thinks whatever it's been there five and one without drew brees five in one what I think there's something like that okay they've been playing with Teddy Bridgewater the Teddy Bridgewater at four and that much on yes they're undefeated with Teddy Bridgewater affordable that speaks volumes I mean how many teams can loses starting quarterback and still hold down okay so that speaks volume to you know Sean Payton his coaching ability and getting the backup quarterback and it teddy bridgewater get him going and the Saints Defense I don't know how many people were talking about it for the Saints Defense is for real okay all saints drew brees come back boy it's GonNa be it's GonNa be a problem in the inner city yeah well what happened to your cowboys right now you did pick them pick up still hey listen if there's one thing you know about me I'm not gonNA fall back on what I said I I haven't heard from you disappointed me I went to the cowboys just gay I said I said we stand and just watch cowboys do the cowboys type thing again you know what I'm blowin the situation so I was around him out I'm going to see what the problem with the Damian can you tell us what the crowd Chris well let's first of all do they gotta put injuries okay they got both start tackles out more coop was Oh okay that's a lot to be that's a lot to overcome you know you know when you're trying to trying to make moves obviously back Prescott you pay a lot of money you gotta put the team on your shoulders. He did a good job of bringing bringing Dallas cowboys against just couldn't finish the job on the two points versus so they listen they're the little slope right now three game slump I want Seattle respond in the NFC that's wide open right now is that your way of saying you think they're going to beat the eagles Sunday show about Why is that why you see have you seen the eagles sector I have secondary sees their secondary Swiss cheese.

"GotTA gotTA disagree with you. I thought you this morning I'm I take and I accept your knowledge but you're totally wrong about Dak Prescott prescot. I'm a huge cowboy fan but the guy he's a step up from Trent dilfer. That's the bottom line a step up from Trent dilfer yeah. Did you know that would probably make make him less than kirk cousins. Why he's he's barely above sticker? Cousins Cousins Twenty eight million Matthew Stafford Never WANNA playoff game. Hey DAK Prescott has Dak Prescott twenty-seven I've tried messed after twenty seven point nine million dollars Matt Ryan did take them to super bowl no doubt with the weapons that he's had available to him. Never WanNA suitable. He's making thirty million dollars. Costume wants to have a played in the playoff game. He's making thirty thirty thirty four million dollars. Here's a difference he's played. He's a quarterback for America's team that there's a difference though that those teams are garbage so since Troy Aikman. What have you had the quarterback position in Dallas? Oh man he was legit. I said sense Troy Aikman or can we haven't had no. We haven't had nobody so you haven't had it so let me ask you a question so you haven't had any body and now you got DAK Prescott who's has thirty five and seventeen record as a quarterback right away pending the players twice to division titles two more pro obviously the Senate the office primarily evolved around the running of Zeki Elliott with with Scotland in his office coordinator now. You've got a new coordinator and Kelly Moore who prioritizes throwing the the football because that's what they wanted to do what they want to change finally got a number one receiver Amari Cooper that you acquire last year after seven games season Dak Prescott looked good ever since you had him a legitimate number two a Michael Gallup you've upgraded at the slot spot with Randall Cobb instead of Coal Beasley and we're going to sit here and talk about Dak Prescott like he's he's described. I'd say any of this girl but stevie like you said you've been to the playoffs three times and guess what pays up against real competition the guy will take a bit Actually actually he played quite well in that game at Amer rods came to the rescue throwing F that ball down the right sideline. I think it was two Geronimo Alison that helps Seila dealer. PUT THEM IN FIELD GOAL RANGE TO WIN that playoff game my question to you is I understand. Dak Prescott is now going to be confused with Patrick Mahomes or somebody like that but that doesn't negate affect these pretty damn good and all the money that's being thrown out to others. He might deserve some of it. Think about that and let's talk about it tomorrow. Appreciate the call. Let's go to Travis Travis real quick. You only got thirty seconds. Go ahead. How you doing see my naismith right? Go ahead the love the show hey how is can we still put Clemson in the top not for the college football playoffs with all the with all the two very very well because because I'm against the wishes of Paul Finebaum somebody somebody you'd arraigning defending national champions and your undefeated It's not your fault it just is what it is and it's really really that simple pool table on all right. I got you but the point I'm trying to make us. I don't know if you can take the reigning defending national champions who bought away have a victory over Texas stay and then they'd be Syracuse to be Charlotte. They're barely survived North Carolina. I get all of that but you can't take the Nash the reigning defending National Champions who are undefeated and just say you know what we agreed to put you in college football players wwl like the way you look pick. Somebody else talked to yell at twenty two hours Olympic Love Dash just a sample of what you hear on the Stephen Smith Show weekdays at one P._M. Eastern on.

"Yes he's a bad he's a bad man okay and I and I use it as an example. What happened against the New Orleans saints now? I'm I'm sick. Everybody has their moments. I get it but you're talking about a team. In New Orleans who still a pretty good team was out drew brees okay one best quarterback for the masterfully playing with a backup quarterback and using taste them heal and teddy bridgewater and you mean to tell me if you're decent health the New Orleans saints without a touchdown and you still lose. Isn't that an indictment on your quarterback who Ooh it wanted to make him the highest paid quarterback in the national football league. That's all I'm saying and I guess what I'm saying response. That's is that the man is one has been to playoffs in three years. He's one of the vision both times and in three years he's been an all pro along. That's he's never missed the game. He's a model citizen. He's accountable. He's dependable and on top that all the first three years he offensive coordinator in Scotland the hand in the system and plays. They're clearly catered to the run devoid of a number one receiver for crying out lap ever since Amari Cooper arrived is number. One things have improved now. You've got an offense offense coordinator. Who's going to be a bit more pass happy? So why would anybody surmised that Dad Prescott can't do something when he was never really asked to do it the way he's GonNa be asked to do a dish you listen. We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA. We're GONNA see we're GONNA see. I know one thing everyone talks about the market and the market you know over. The next player comes the mortgage. I'm GonNa tell you who said WHO's GonNa take that the owners okay particular Jerry Jones. I think it's I I think it's Kinda. Funny that Jerry Jones has come out and signed. I got to this mega-contract game. I think that I think Jerry Jones and company on wait and see mode because they wanNA. I see okay if we're going to invest that type of money to the quarterback. I need to see what he's GonNa do with all these but she had so they're in wait-and-see mode. Oh Damien woody right here was even ESPN radio ESPN news. WHO's the best quarterback in Football Patch mahomes the best best go ahead people talking about Patrick Mahomes like he might be the best quarterback they've ever seen? Where are you on that I might tend to agree with that. I don't know well if I've seen. I don't know if I've seen that skill set before my wife. I did the things that patch mahomes by this evening petrol Petma- holes didn't school school didn't throw a touchdown and I think the pencil she's still scored thirty points then to Detroit Line Inc how crazy that what is he did not throw one touchdown and scored thirty points okay when they play the New England patriots in Foxborough when the basis didn't put the ball one time building lost by three three boys in Fox books like this do the things he's able to do weekend and week out is amazing amazing and he's on any young. He's going to get better. That's the scary part about this whole equation. He's not even in his permian and I'm looking at him. I'm looking at the fact that tyreek Hill has been out since week one when he got hurt returning has returned to practice. I'm I'm looking at the fact that the New England Patriots look very very vulnerable and suspect on offense Gronkowski's retired. Antonio Brown has been exiled you you Netam's playing hurt. you know Josh Gordon is relatively inconsistent and Sony Michelle's not even averaging three yards a carry. I'm of the mindset that to me this this division. This conference belongs to Kansas City. I can't especially with Steve Caskey. Outdo this field their field goal kicker WHO's out with the HIP injury. I'm looking at Kansas City. I can't see anybody beating them in the AFC. Where are you at? I see now I wanna Carson you okay. I want to caution you because I don't want you to Kiddo. Kiddo get caught up like the mets Kelman making proclamations you know when this early I WanNa coalition you that the Patriots and I've been been with that organizational the five years so I know the team you see now is not going to be the same team you see around thanksgiving. That's always been the go doing the Patriots they WANNA be. They want to get better and they want to transform by November because that's when meaningful games are really really start being played so this team the way you look at him now. I'm trust me when I tell you this. They're not gonna be that same team. Come November so I think we're in wait and see mode right now Damien woody right here with Steve. ESPN RADIO ESPN news is really a two-horse race within the AFC and that's it or is it really really about somebody else that we might not that'd be looking at that. We should look at in the AFC to compete with Kansas City in New England. Listen sit listen. I was someone could emerge. You know who knows what's GonNa. It happened with Cleveland or you know with the you know Los Angeles chargers. you know different. You know different teams but I I my for my money. It's New England Kansas City. New England Kansas City is almost like the the new New England Indianapolis Robbery because it just seems like those two franchises are just a step above everybody else in the AFC right now so until until I see otherwise watching those two and then the rest of the pack are we doing a disservice to the Los Angeles chargers or even Indianapolis Colts or even the Houston Texas by now putting them in the mix I won't we're not doing a disservice which is speak in fact you know. I'm just speaking matter of factly right. Now I mean when you say when you look at the Patriots you know the defenses dominating you know the office is still a work in progress but I know when it comes to you know Tom Brady and bill though they'll figure it out and they'll they'll be playing much better as Ugo goes along and with the Kansas City chiefs again. They're primarily weapon return yet imagine this office when Cari Kill Looking back Mark God it's going to be it's going to be something to behold so to me. Those are the two teams and if see and everyone else is playing catchup. dammit would would appreciate you looking forward to talking to you next week. You take it easy right all right you too right well known would've idea was even a he has..

"Me get to the Antonio Brown situation because it's important that everybody no the details they continue to unfold nothing new bill belichick would not address the issue even though reporters wanted them to patriots pronounce announced that they're still learning the facts when they have more to say they will let you know but Antonio Brown's showed up practice with the team today. He's expected to be uniform and play for the New England patriots this weekend. The only potential hiccup is whether or not commissioner Roger Goodell Alexi Yank Antonio Brown from the field in the aftermath of these rape allegations that have have been levied against him and instead elect to simply put him on a commissioner's exempt list list where he can't play he'll get paid all what you do is turn around and you suspend them conduct detrimental edited League or whatever the case may be in today's sports section. USA Today the Wonderful Christine Brennan columnist for USA Today One of the matriarchs of this industry as far as I'm concerned. She's just absolutely fabulous Dallas. She suggested sitting Antonio Brown down now. She said that's what the NFL should do. They should sit him down now. there's no way around it is to write appropriate thing to do you so shit so says Christine Brennan. Here's here's my response to all of that. I respectfully very and highly respectfully disagree with Christine Brennan. I do not believe that Antonio Brown's should be benched right now. I do not believe that anything should happen to Antonio Brown until the NFL meets would Brittany Taylor the accuser themselves. There was a lot said she revealed text messages in the affidavit that was given as text messages that highly incriminate Antonio Brown to some degree anyway in terms of his language towards her highs poke etc etc that to me while I understand all of that. That's not my issue he has been accused of taking her for grabbing and putting her head on her face down into the bed and forcibly raping her is according to her. I disagree that he should just be yanked off the field because he's categorically proclaimed his innocence a and B the NFL has not not talked to anyone yet to me. What's mandated. What's necessary is that the NFL meat would her hear hostelry determine how plausible it is and how much of a threat to their image she can cause with all of this before making the decision as to whether or not you're gonNA Place Antonio Brown on Commissioner's exempt list. I think those things should happen. I Christine Brennan obviously disagrees. He says it will be weeks more more likely most before there's any resolution to the lawsuit which means the NFL the Patriots are stuck with this never ending sideshow no matter how many times billet trust stonewaller say the Patriots onto whoever over there playing that week won't stop the questions about Brown Anytime Commissioner Roger Goodell appears in public. He'll be asked for an update on the wire receiver or to assess the various as possible outcomes at every game every practice. Brown will be under a microscope his body language and interactions with Tom. Brady and Belichick assessment debated for even the slightest percent of trouble or discord and that's assuming brown doesn't create any new dramas good luck with that the NFL had to had to have hoped that Antonio Brown's circus would fold its tent once he signed with the Patriots Belichick doesn't make allowances for anyone even Brady and Sasha was that Brown would total line just as Randy Eddie Marsan Chad Johnson did anybody who really believed that hasn't been paying. That hasn't been paying attention. The last six months hacked just the last six days should have been enough blah blah blah blah blah. She believes he should sit down now. I believe in investigation is warranted pointed at least speak to the alleged victim before making that decision. That's how I feel you heard Christine Brennan feels. What about you it at eight say? "Well listen. I j bianconi has all he has all the leverage in this particular situation because you can't you know if you try if you're if you're trading for judea beyond the county. You can't find a long-term deal because you've already class. I think the july fifteen deadline as far as the franchise tag is concerned so okay <hes> he holds all the cards in this particular situation as far as you know possibly where he where he gets traded to and so on and so forth so listen to me a great would be the washington redskins in houston texas because the houston texas meeting left tackle to protect shawn watson. Who's been you just killed the past you know three or four years and the redskins could use it. Another pass today crowded so that's a possible scenario the opening again. David crowley has the leverage in this particular situation. We've got the leverage because he can't be traded until he signs ten with the houston texans so that gives them a bit of leverage bridge plus. He's met with the miami dolphins. According to reports coach bryan floors so interested in him. A keyshawn johnson was on the show. Yesterday he said one of the teams he'd love to see today beyond cloudy money on the new york jets. How would you feel about that. Well listen when you talk about the new york jets one of the areas that one of the areas of concern for the jets that corners we'll we can help we can help you corners a pass rush so if you can add another pass rusher to the mix guy like today beyond cloudy that will help where the jets a week at the cornerback spot so <hes> listen. You got sam sam donahue. Most people things will make a big leap. This year being coast the office on monday head coach. You got him on working contract. So if you can add pieces you know why could debut on cloud into the mix. You know that'll help speed up the process. You get the jets really competitive this year. Let's go back to oakland and antonio brown but not necessarily him. Let's look derek carr. You know one of the things t. o. K. matt let me <hes> you know haven't but he couldn't believe that i didn't have <hes> a antonio brown projected as one of my top five receivers in football for this this upcoming season and i tried to explain i'm not in any way question the greatness of antonio brown. I think he's on the top two receivers in the world. Don't get me wrong but i do think when you project we're trying to project who's going to have the better seasons the julio jones he still has matt ryan j hopkins. He's still has shawn watson or no del beckham julia even so. It's a new quarterback. This situation in cleveland seems to be tailor made for him particularly with the pieces around him etcetera. When i look at michael thomas he has drew brees when when i look at a guy like antonio brown you've had the helmet issue. You've had defeat issue. Those things one could argue may have compromised you develop a rapport with derek eric carr and that's why i think we could see from a numbers perspective not from greatness perspective but from a numbers perspective i can see antonio brown slip slipped and just a little bit numbers wise upcoming season to that. You say what i i listen. I totally agree listen. I saw your your your top five. Why would see list and i totally i totally agree with. Nobody's disputing antonio brown's tally. He's if you just going up telling alone in production. He's the number one receiver even in football but it's bigger than that you know he was for with nine eight or nine years..

Chargers, Melvin Gordon And Ten Million Dollars discussed on SportsCenter AllNight

"Time Joseon adders are reporting the agent for Chargers running back Melvin Gordon has requested a trade because charges are not backing off their offer of ten million per season which represents a roughly twice the salary schedule to make in the final year of his rookie deal they remain at a record you know not wanting to report because he feels like he's valuation is higher than ten million when you have to put that in the context knowing that Todd Gurley right now is what at fourteen point three lay beyond del thirteen one David Johnson at thirteen million my understanding is that the comp that in being out there right now is that David Johnson and Melvin Gordon are similar in terms of how they should be paid and they are definitely still at a gap between those numbers and so right now he's going to stay out until the situation gets resolved nice of Gordon toll charges that if he does not receive a new deal that's acceptable obviously he'll sit out demanded trade he's followed through on both threats Louis Riddick Damien woody Chris Mortensen with insight on how this plays out in if Gordon has any leverage in this hold out he doesn't have the leverage because the charges obviously feels so his replacements is number two or number three players like Austin Meckler Justin Jackson will give them enough of a of a level of production a percentage of production may not equal what number will give them enough to where they have enough other weapons on the field to make up the difference and they're just going to go with the you know one year at a time type of philosophy and if he doesn't like it then they're gonna trade I think he's out on the football team before the regular season starts and hopefully he can find that one suitor who not only is willing to pay a high price to get him but is also willing to pay him long term which is what he's after after lands a former running back and running back coach and the one thing I know by if the land he's very confident that he can find another running back you mention it already the fact that Philip rivers in the last year for the of Joey Bosa is coming up they have players in the pipeline so to think that Melvin Gordon's going to get you know the levy on bail early heard Todd Gurley absolute because are guaranteed a lot of people looking to toggle the contract and is like wool we don't want any part of that so okay Melvin Gordon is in a situation where he's not gonna get paid by the Los Angeles Chargers and more likely he's going to be sued no with another team actually ten million dollars is the charges off and that's kind of where the value him and they do have other contracts to get done and they're not a cash rich team we've established that for different reasons that without getting into details Melvin Gordon's only played one full season out of a source for any is a good back is he an elite back you can argue one way or the other but the bottom line is the charges are going to get permission for Bilbo is represented to go get a trade they want to control the situation he's not levy on bills he has a contract levy on bill did not have a contract last year so it's not a similar situation ten million dollars is the charges off and that's kind of where the value him and they do have other contracts to get done and they're not a cash rich team we've established that for different reasons that without getting into details but Melvin Gordon's only played one full season of the source for any is a good back is he in the league back you can argue one way or the other but the bottom line is the charges are going to get permission for Bilbo is represented to go get a trade they want to control the situation he's not levy on bills he has a contract levy on bill did not have a contract last year so it's not a similar situation ultimately I think the charges feeling and we talked about this yesterday and make your Damian Moore and and the lens perspective is they do fill like if necessary if gore insanity assigned eventually then you can put them on the market as a team it is the one with the agent do the shopping Eric Williams covers the Chargers for ESPN provided this take on why the charger should find a resolution with Gordon if they have aspirations to make a run in the playoffs he was on Spain and company yeah I mean it's basically a stand off at this point you know Gordon wants to be paid amongst the highest running backs normally he thinks his his statistics over the last couple years point to that he should be pay you know like David Johnson girly let me del the Chargers obviously disagree on that date they are pricey them again according to reports and and I believe they're accurate about ten million per year you mean another structure the contract how much of that is guaranteed how much that is fully guaranteed when he would receive that type of money so those are things that are going on in terms of negotiations to try to get Melvin in the camp I did the things that are promising if both sides want to get a deal done Melvin Gordon wants to play for the charge the Chargers want Melvin Gordon the place so you would think at some point there there would be a compromise that could be made to get Mel in the camp because he remains to be seen you know Melvins representation that told the Chargers that you know that they would demand a trade at the contract demands aren't aren't made the charges are willing to trade him they basically haven't control for the next two to three years due to make five point six million in the following years rookie deal and they get franchise in another couple years no but it is important in terms of where the charge you want to go in the post season they can win games without knowing the crew that last year they want **** when no one was injured the issue is is can they want simple without melon and I think the answer probably is no and so I think that does give me a little bit of leverage yeah well he might want to look Gordon at levy on bell scenario the now jets running back doesn't second guess himself for sitting out last season a decision that cost them fourteen million in salary he did say you wish you could have told fantasy owners some type of way to not draft him or pick him never made it on the field

Latest On Tyreek Hill

"Today. It was announced tyreek. Hill will not be suspended by the N._F._l.. N._F._l.. Hill was accused of assaulting his son. The League launched an investigation and right around ten A._M.. This morning Adam schefter reporting that the lead could not find evidence that he did but the case will remain open. A further evidence emerges of here is the N._F._l.. Statement today with regards to tyree kill the N._F._l.. Said similarly based on the evidence presently available the N._F._l.. CanNot conclude that Mr Hill violated the personal conduct policy accordingly he may attend Kansas City's training camp and participate speeding all club activities he has been it will continue to be subject to conditions set forth by the District Court Commissioner Goodell and the chiefs which include clinical evaluation and therapeutic intervention the chiefs have now weighed in all this as well. Let's get to Kansas City. This is what the chiefs had to say based on the information provided to us by the League. We have decided it is appropriate or Tyrique to return to the team at the start of training camp. The club fully supports that conditions return laid out by the League and we'll continue to monitor any new developments in the case we are glad to welcome back to the team and look or to the start of training camp next week okay so now that we have all that information. Let's get to Adam. Schefter has been following this story closely for mullets now Adam. How did the lead come to this decision Jack? This has been a lengthy investigation from the N._F._l.. which is found itself in the investigation business and during the course of its investigation the N._F._l.? Never could find evidence that that tyreek Hill was basically guilty of essentially assaulting his three year old son as he had been accused of doing. I think the longer the investigation went on the more became apparent to the N._F._l.. And it's is that Tyreek Hill here did not essentially wound his son and was not guilty of some of the things that he had been accused of doing. I think the chiefs organization felt as a whole that tyreek Hill put himself in bad situations but he did not break the arm of his three year old son and in that eleven minute audiotape that many people have heard the sounds of where tyree kill is essentially saying to his then fiancee unique to be scared of me as well using profane language. I think the N._F._l.. Fill in listening to the full eleven minute tape of that sound that in its context that common does standout it does grab your attention. It is deeply deeply disturbing but if the N._F._l.. In its opinion listened to the whole tape and felt that in the context of IT Atari Kill did nothing wrong and this is a league remember Jack that really has gone out of its way to discipline players from everything I'm from smoking marijuana to deflate footballs to anything could and in this particular case a league that has taken a hardline stance on so many different players with so many different issues over the years decided here in one of the most deeply disturbing in cases of all Atari. Kill is not guilty of what he's doing in the League left open the right to go back and discipline them. If further evidence emerges right now Jack Tyreek Hill will be a training camp will be a full participant. Is the full go for the upcoming season ahead. So what do we expect to happen. Next year is at this point done in something further emerges in less something further emerges tyreek hill is in the free and clear at this particular point time as you mentioned kitchen he will be a camp and keep in mind. This is an organization that had banned him from attending off season activities because the organization itself wanted to gather more information as the N._F._l.. Did as well I think both sides came to the conclusion here as as much as it was looking for evidence that he did something it could not prove that can conclusively in this case. I know there's a skeptical public out there with good reason because so many times there are people involved in instance like this that are so deeply disturbing but in this case the N._F._l.. L. Determined that tyreek Hill did nothing wrong at and we appreciate the information we want to get to this too before we get back to you later on in the show as tyreek did respond on twitter. He said the last few months have been very difficult for me. especially as a father of the false allegations originally reported in March were highly highly publicized involved the care of my son. I'm grateful for so many things for so. Many people have supported me during this challenging time I fully respect and accept the N._F._L.'s decision to the N._F._l.. Commissioner Goodell and everyone who assisted in this investigation thank for your time and for conducting a thorough investigation I will not let you down so Damien Woody. What is your reaction first? Let me say that would Li funding Incan inconclusive as far as the assault concern. Everyone deserves the presumption of innocence. There's no question about that. Martha's moving forward is clearly from the audio. He did threat his mother. This child okay combine that with a pattern of tyreek hill in these types of incidences dating back to college and so for me was disturbing is that there's no there's there's nothing no punishment at all in this particular situation compared to Ezekiel Elliott who has six games and I'm lift SCR. I'm left scratching my head as to why can't we be more transparent superior about how they how they got to this point because I'm sitting here and I'm just looking at everything and like I said there's a presumption of innocence that tyreek Hill deserves in this particular case but there are things there are breadcrumbs news a lot this that's been going on along the way that make you think this do doesn't get anything but Ezekiel Elliott get six games so I just want some more transparency from the league and how they got you got to this particular situation because that's a that's a complaint invicta noses. That's a complaint no only from the players but I think the fans themselves in regards to how the League administers disciplined on the topic of transparency the problem is Adams said the League in the investigation business that that's the problem the N._F._l.. Doesn't have subpoena power doesn't have the power to compel witness testimony so the to the extent to which it can even conduct one of these investigations is limited and any evidence in fines with the to help law enforcement. It may not be able to reveal to the public because that may be it may be confidential. It may be something law. Enforcement didn't want them to share so there are all kinds of reasons that transparency is not going to happen in situations like this especially when it comes to a case involving the welfare of a child those those matters are even more closely guarded but the issue is why is the League doing these investigations in the first place and is it right for them to do it or should they let the legal system take care of it. The one thing is there's no more criminal case pending against against tyreek Hill Adam said unless something further emerges in terms of evidence what's going on. There's a hearing proceeding in Kansas called a child in need of care proceeding not a criminal proceeding but it's to determine what's best for the welfare for the child. If something were to come out of that the league were defined out a detail that supported the idea that he broke the personal conduct policy required discipline. They're reserving the right to go back into this and say okay we found some of that but to this point versus versus Ezekiel Elliott. They felt like they had evidence there whatever anybody wants to say they felt like they had evidence there. They felt on this case that they didn't have evidence that that was sufficient to warrant a violation of the personal conduct policy. That's the only part that kind of <hes> you know that I have questions questions about as a as a player if I was a play what's the barometer like what what makes one incident more severe than the other. What how are you gauging this as a front office or as as the N._F._l.? As they go and conduct these investigations how do you decide which one is more severe than the other. How are you justifying a six game suspension for Ezekiel and zero game suspension for tyreek Hill when they both essentially were in? You know the news for something <hes> putting the N._F._l.. Putting the shield in a bad bad light so I just that's the big thing for me as a player or you know being having been a player in that locker room is how are you gauging this N._f._l.. How are you going about this business? Engaging one against the and that's the thing it's case by case. They're not using past cases to to inform current ones but the problem is it's case by case but each case doesn't come with an equivalent amount of supporting evidence or information they might have had more cooperation from people on Ezekiel Elliott. They might have been able to find more information than they did on tyreek. Or vice versa you know so that's the problem with this. You can't equate one situation or another because behind the scenes when they're doing these investigations so much rests on what they can get and very often. It's very little if the hell out of the business. It really all comes down to listen if you're the N._F._l.. I think what's more important the N._F._l.. Needs to take this whole this whole piece of the Pie and outsource it somewhere else okay because clearly we're going WANNA keep asking these questions again because this is gonna come up again with another player. We're going to have the same type of questions again and again so if I'm the N._F._l.. Outsource that somewhere else and just get back to what you do really well which is marketing putting on a good product for aw fan and let the legal system take care of it and let them dean whatever they want to deem is the proper punishment for for whatever the crime is and we'll go from there far less important. I think we all understand that but the reality tyreek hill is going to be playing football continue continue so we all gotta understand understand that. What does he change for Kansas City? I mean obviously a talented player or else. We wouldn't be talking about this like this. It's huge. I mean obviously a guy coming over fourteen hundred yard plus <hes> receiving season twelve touchdowns I mean a huge weapon of for Mahomes and in from home just going to have that fifty touchdown caliber type of season that we all know he can have obviously coming coming off of fifty touchdown season he's going to need tyreek hill and he's going to to play at a high level and having him back having them there for training camp and not missing missing a substantial amount of games or whatever the case may be is huge for that team to continue to build and continue to go through the things that they want to go through in order to get to that pinnacle and that's the Super Bowl. You'll wanna tell you what it means. He has something that you can't teach speed. I don't know how you convict we. We all talk you ask players as teams. He might be the one player that scares teams the most out of any offensive player in the league because he has something that quite frankly you just I don't know if there's any other player that can really touch him as far as his speed and explosiveness and it scares teams to death so bring him back into the mix for the cancer genes put some right back in the fool to try to represent the A._F._C. so we will be back to hill with Adam schefter later in the show but thirty one other teams was super bowl dreams as well. We're getting all the day we're GONNA hit every training camp

NFL: Le'veon Bell plans to join Jets for 4 years, $52.5M

"There's former Steelers running back on bell. We learned late Tuesday night. When the news broke that he's planning to sign with the New York Jets deal is for four years, fifty two and a half million thirty five million guaranteed. According to a source. What's it all mean? ESPN analyst Damien Woody says, it means that bell gambled with his career. And he didn't beat the house. Well, listen, you know, the man held out for years. He lost. He lost a bedroom. There you gotta you gotta understand. He he walked waves mobile fourteen million dollars in the franchise peg last year picking that you know, what I'm going to preserve myself. And I'm gonna I'm gonna come out after the season and get even bigger deal and it comes out, but he got less than what the franchise tag or what the Steelers were often them. So from that aspect, he he lost on this one. I'm with you. And I mean Louis and our just joking. I mean, no one's gonna cry. The man, certainly he he's he's wealthy beyond reason. And yet I just wonder how how does that play? How does a guy who's been excellent one of the very best at his position. How does he process that when he bet big on himself you missed a year in your prime, you left fourteen on the table, and you're getting less than that on an average like how does that manifest itself in guys based on what you've seen through the years? What did you gotta be heard a little bit? Because you know, the way the way it looks like is like maybe his market wasn't as big or maybe that many teams were interested in signing on Bill big deal. So listen kudos to the jets have been able to get on to me the best all purpose back in the National Football League. At the price of the he'll be a tremendous asset for the New York Jets and Sam Donaldson Alford. So Bravo to them. Does it surprise you that that that that there were other teams willing to give it, and we understand that running backs the depreciation, and we understand the wear and tear. That's all understood. But I'm just a little bit surprised that there was not someone else for Belen his agent to work off of in terms of negotiating were you surprised? Actually, I wasn't surprised you gotta look at a few factors one. This is a guy that could possibly, you know, one incident away from know from a long-term suspension. You got that in his background the fact that he sat out a year. So when you and the fact that he plays running back. So when you combine all those factors. I don't think there was a team out. There is willing to blow to halt to pay one in back. That's twenty-seven-year-old. Then it he's a great running back. But I don't know who you know. I think he'd just miscalculated the marketing with people which people will come. Liane bell rushing for five thousand three hundred yards thirty five touchdowns, and he also has three hundred twelve catches for twenty six hundred yards and seven has a receiver over the course of his career. His one hundred twenty nine yards from scrimmage per game over his career best Mark in the

Are people sleeping on the Oklahoma City Thunder

"I want to get to another team in the west. That's been a surprise. Obviously we're talking about the nuggets. But how about the thunder Paul George had twenty five fourth quarter points and Russell Westbrook past Jason Kidd on the all time list for most triple doubles has the thunder win again. Okay. See has jumped all the way to second in the west guys. Let's not forget Russell, Westbrook's real real good. Stephen it. Are you buying thunder as real contenders combine them by them? I think Russell Russell Westbrook is a superstar in this league. Yes. And he is the he's the most ruthless competitor. There is in the word. Everybody that's not wearing the same uniform for those forty eight Paul George is something special and the watch him continue to Bob considering the injuries that he incurred. I give him a lot of credit where credit is due right now. He's averaging about twenty four point three games. Stephen Adams is obviously good. And then you look at some of the young talent grant and entrusted to pick up a forgot land. Big Tom pickup. I like what I'm seeing from them. I still don't have them go into the conference finals. Obviously, even though if the players would to begin today, it will be the Lakers vs Golden State in the first round. And then the legs will home, I'm thinking, nobody. But the Golden State out west would beat the Lakers in the postseason. But I will tell you go Oklahoma City is a force to be reckoned with because without having to deal with the whole mellow issue. And it's just about the big two in Stephen Adams in young talent that game Schroeder coming off the bench. I got to admit I'm very impressed with what I'm seeing from the Oklahoma City thunder right now, I. Cannot take my eyes off of them. I don't say it don't say they'll say, I'm kind of hoping the rockets don't get good this year. It's look so bad for Carmelo right now. Like, you take them off the team look at how much better they get. And I understand they're deeper and there are certain differences in the team. Now, then forget about Carmelo several years ago. But but but not take this team versus the team that failed against Golden State in game seven at oracle several years ago. Yes. There are some differences that make a difference. But we all know the NBA at the highest level is about your very best players guys. They pose zero threat to the warriors because they couldn't get past the warriors before the warriors had K de Paul Georgia's excellent is he is is not K D. And now Katy is on the warriors. So since their two best players used to be K, D And Westbrook. And now, it's K D And Paul George and now the team that they couldn't get past as Addie, Katie. There's no way for them to beat the warriors. There are threat to anyone

Nick Bosa: Withdrawing from school to prepare for draft

"Way, when you know, what's coming down the pike as far as the NFL draft and the type of contract that you'll be able to secure for yourself and your family. So football is big business and these players have to make business decisions for themselves as well analyst Damien Woody with us on the shell Pennzoil performance line. Get triple action protection for optimal engine performance with Shelby power nitro plus premium gasoline, wood, man, we were talking about this the last hour before you came on you, right? We've all known this is a big business forever. It feels like the players are finally in college football specific. I'm talking about are finally realizing, hey, we are the big business and they're beginning to understand, especially the top players how much leverage in power. They actually have. Absolutely tray. Because I mean understand this. You're talking about college football now where some OT billion dollar business. Do the schools everyone is making money in this in this whole deal except the players the school the administration the head coach athletic director, everyone is making huge amounts of money except for the player. So I think we're finally starting to see awakening from from the the, quote, unquote, labor out there that you know, what without us. There would be no multi billion dollar enterprise that is college football. And he's got a starting to make smart business decisions for themselves. Talking to Damien Woody with us. Former first round pick ESPN NFL analyst on the shell Pennzoil performance line. And with that in mind, Damian because I almost like invest to what ends up being a contract holdout, Joey Bosa knows what he's worth and is going to wait until he's on the other side before he's going to put his body on the line again for we talked about a do you does it? Get more uncomfortable for you, all of a sudden this guys who like we hinted that would you'd avian cloudy are healthy, scratches that decide going into their last year, you know, what my stocks at its highest point. I'm not going to risk it by playing any games during my final season in college. Well, I mean, listen, I bought don't think you're talking about, you know, a select few type of guys it's not like we're going to see just as onslaught of the onslaught or a tidal wave of guys that want to opt out not playing. We're only talking about the league of the elite type guys debut on clown Nick Bosa those type of guys.
