China says more than 10 US balloons flew in its airspace
"The U.S. is now shot down four objects in the sky over the last 8 days. The latest was yesterday in Michigan on orders from President Biden a fighter jet shot down an unknown object over Lake Huron, general Glenn van herck is head of norad and U.S. northern command. If it isn't, right? I'll shoot it down. As follows the shooting down of a big balloon from China off the South Carolina coast, objects were also shot down over Canada and Alaska. Why all this activity? Melissa Dalton is assistant defense secretary for homeland defense. We have been more closely scrutinizing our airspace at these altitudes, enhancing our radar, which may at least partly explain the increase in the objects detected. China now says more than ten U.S. high altitude balloons have flown in its airspace during the past year without its permission. Ed Donahue, Washington.

Prescott outshines Brady, Cowboys dominate Buccaneers 31-14

"I was hoping to be there to celebrate. This looks like we're going to have to go next week. So just make sure you're well rested. I know 55 can take a lot of your energy out. Pretty quickly. You know, it's funny because I've been taking balance of nature and I'm feeling great. I've got a little pep in the step. Hey, I've been taking a balance of nature as well. And I must feel the same as you. I love it. Dalton real quick before we let you go, how are things going there in Kansas? I know you're deeply involved in politics there. You guys are expecting a big turnout on election day. Yeah, they're going well and actually calling you between door knocking today. So I took the day off, sorry Todd, to make sure that we can save democracy. It's going to be, I think, a very competitive race here in Kansas. But it's going to be fun and it's really comes down to turnout. I know people hear that again and again. But if we don't turn out the base and we don't turn out our voters, then we are not going to win this election. And so I think it takes everybody if you haven't knocked a door of the cycle, if you haven't made a phone call with cycle, head over to your local county office, go to the Shelby county party. If you're there in Memphis or go anywhere across the country and I guarantee you they're going to welcome you. Yeah, absolutely. And that is so vitally important again Dalton, we're seeing the polling data and we know we heard the hot bike comments from Chuck Schumer so the Democrats know that they're going down, but that's only going to happen if we get out the vote and get people out on election day. Yeah, it is that it all comes down to turnout it also comes to convincing your family and friends to make sure to invite someone to come to the polls with you. If you have an elderly parent, make sure you go and pick them up because a lot of people forget to vote on election day and closing at 7 o'clock while it's too late. So make sure to go pick up your parents, go pick up your kids, make sure to go out and vote and make sure it's a family experience when you're going out there as well.

So having his name, I looked up Steve Dalton and got his schedule. Class schedule. And then I just happened to be there when he'd come out of certain classes looking as spiffy as I possibly could. So Steve, you had a stalker. This is interesting. Well, people will call that stalking the day, but at the time I called that flirty. Oh, okay. That works and it worked, here we are, you know? So that's how I met my husband and we started dating and the rest is history. And how many years has it been.

"What colleagues led up to as we sit and watch general conference, suddenly we hear these names and these people even fill those seats, but we don't really always hear how they got to that list of names that they selected from. I believe were you in the general relief study pregnancy before? No. No, I wasn't actually my husband was called to be a part he was a singles word bishop first. And I remember sitting in, we had three relief societies in that ward. And I remember sitting in those relief societies, he called me to be the adviser to the relief society, which I said, that's not in the handbook. That's just a bogus calling. But it was actually a very inspired calling because I believe those young adult women or who prepared me for when I did get my calling. My husband then served in a state presidency of a married adult married young adult ward. And again, I was just as I attended. I was just tutored. The first thing I realized when I was going to work on a general level, I got called by the general young women presidency to come in for a focus group. And shortly after that time, I got a call from elder hails office. An elder hails called my husband and myself in. We didn't know why. That's always fun. Yeah, my husband was sitting in the foyer with the coldest hands I've ever felt in my life and mentally selling all our positions. And when we got into elder hill's office, he said, just brother Dalton, you can relax. This is a calling for sister Dalton. And I was then called to be on the young women general board. And from that, from that place, I served with Margaret Nadal, was the president. I served for 5 years there, then when she was released, Susan Tanner was called to be the president of the young women, and she called me to be her second counselor. Julie Beck was the first counselor when she was called to be the relief society president, then I moved up to first counselor, and then when Susan was released, I couldn't believe it because I'd been serving for so long by that time. I'd been serving on a general level for ten years. And when Susan was released, I thought they probably wanted to get on. But president monson became the prophet. And I was the first calling that he made shortly after he was set apart as a prophet and sustained as a prophet to be the next general young woman president. So that's the history. That's the history. It's crazy..

"Calling the hogs here and he's calling us here on the Paul fine bob show joining us coming up right now. How flipping cool is this, man? Like, give me the background of how a deal like this. I mean, working with WWE explain it. Dude, it was one of the coolest things I think I've ever experienced. I mean, I like a lot of other people grew up watching all the time. And they one day reached out to me on Instagram after an aisle at the past and we look forward to pursuing an NL deal with you guys. We're making a big push in this and want to make a big announcement and we'd really like to get you on board. Of course, you know, what do you say to that? Of course. Yes. Whatever you want me to do. And to be able to go and talk to the people and get this whole deal set up in the big announcement today, it's been one heck of an experience. So explain this to me. Before we get into what it exactly is, walk us through the process of whether it be WWE or barbecue join or whatever, getting in touch with a student athlete right now, what are the steps that you have to do to make deals like this happen? There's a whole bunch of them. There's a lot of red tape and everything you got to go across, but for the most part, it just starts with communication. Whether it's through text messaging, phone calls, DMs on social media platforms, but a lot of it's really just communicating first between the athlete and the vendor and then the vendor will go and contact the compliance department as we start to move forward with all this. All right, so one of those vendors was WWE, which I could just see you smile even whenever it comes up every single time. So what does this relationship mean for you? I know they have a performance center down there in Florida, like what does this look for Dalton Wagner and these other 15 athletes that got this opportunity? Yeah, it's essentially just a gateway to show you the world beyond your sport. And the way it was explained to me is that it's like a recruiting kind of deal and they'll take you down to the performance center. They'll show you around all your stuff. They'll show you different venues and places where you get to go work and or would be able to go to work and top of that, you'll do social media promotions. They'll help you out with engaging followers and such. And at the very end of your contract, you have an option to either go to your professional school or your choice or you get an open contract to WWE with a possibility of being able to sign with them. All right, so which route do you think that you lean towards at this point? I don't know. I'd really like to try the NFL first and then after that, I'll go give the WWE. I think it's the NFL is definitely still been a dream of mine as a kid. And that's all with coming back one more year just trying to boost my draft stock as much as I can. And speaking of that too, because you guys have been incredible. It's been such a fun team to watch. And when I say the word team from grant Morgan to bumper to tray line and all these guys, it just seems kind of special with Pittman has brought. When Sam came in, did you know he was going to be this quick of a turnaround in this kind of family environment and fayville? And it's his first meeting. Yes, absolutely. He came in and the first thing he talked about is trying to earn everybody's trust. Everybody's respect and admiration. And he successfully did that and no matter a few weeks. I mean, he turned it around, no one really could see it from the outside when we're doing all of our winter conditioning and to interesting training and, of course, you know, COVID hit, so that's probably one of the hardest things you had coaches, oh crap, now you've got a pandemic to deal with. You're doing athletes aren't in the facility, but he came in and he dealt with it like a champ. And he turned this program around in a matter of a year, year and a half. And he's not a tremendous job. And from his first meeting, everyone on the team knew it. And for this season in four and four in the toughest division, all of college football, you go back and let's say whenever you become a Hall of Fame wrestler down into after a illustrious ten year NFL career, what memory from the 2021 season is going to be the first one you write about in your book. Beating Texas for sure. That was especially it was razorback stadium was sold out. It was one of the cruelest experiences that I've ever seen and I know most of my teammates would probably say the exact same thing. To come out last year, being three and 7 and now you're going into this new year and you got big Texas coming into town and for us to do that. It was the most memorable thing I've ever done in college. I just that environment. My weekend co host Katie George who calls games for ABC was on the field and she goes, this was the first SEC game I ever had a chance to. And I saw the fans rush the field and just that moment. She's like, I'm an SEC fan. So you got at least another adoptee there. Let's talk about your team right now. All right, so if WWE said, all right, Dalton, you're killing it. You're crushing it. We love you. We need one other member of the Arkansas razorback that's going to be it's going to be perfect for the wrestling world. Which one are you picking as your tag team partner? "You know something somewhere was looking for a a lot of times but So i wanted to hit on this rule that you found for yourself that you're able to just kind of Have kind of this alternative education. You wanna share with school. Big bit right and i wouldn't even know look for. Yes so this is prescott college in arizona. I literally this. I found this college. Because i was with a friend who was looking up conservatories or something and his book fell off the into my hands literally fell off into my hands when she was looking at other things in. It said how would make a difference in the world's college guide and i was like. Oh my god they have this. You know kind of it was one of those things and it was in there. And i this place with amazing because they let you write your own degree plan you write a contract for what you wanna learn every class and you hand that into your teacher. So you're saying this is what i want to get out of your class and then your teacher looks at it and goes pretty good or no imminent. Actually be teaching. How do you feel about that. So you're entering into a contract a conscious contract every time with your teacher. Every class had twelve students are less every headed an experiential option. So if you're learning how to teach you spend over half that time in the classroom teaching. So i had like four years of teaching. More than average bachelor's degree in education would have because of the way they did it at the school There were i mean i take. African inspired dance are all these different courses that were offered. I took a course called environmental perspective on whitewater rafting. That was my spirit of water. I was like. I'm facing my fear water. I am going to go. Whitewater rafting brick thirty straight days and it was awesome by the end of it. I was captaining rapids. So it was like okay. We're gonna do this so it. Just there wasn't a second of that of my education that i regret. There's so many people back in there like what a waste of time. College was and i did not feel that way like i joyfully. There was a there is a spiritual element of emotional element mental element in academic element to every course and it was a life changer. It was an absolute life changing. I can't say enough about that. Place is awesome. Yeah sounds awesome that you were able to find something like that again. All your bliss for lack of better term off and on stepping into something things kept showing up for you that you were able to do that right on. I mean being able to skills and spiritual living double minor music. Right like i mean. Just it's all who you already were earns like. Oh here's a place where i can continue that versus like well. "We get to see we saw mac jones last night in his preseason debut and a lot of excitement at foxboro just about him. But there's a lot of excitement of course in chicago about justin fields in what he can be and one thing saying that. That is said a lot that tends to come to. Fruition is that the vets will let you go. Yeah it might be good. It might not be good. It's alan changes real quick. Say no but the but the vets will let you know the vets will tell you about a young quarterback. If this is the guy like all of a sudden somebody will just go up to one of the coordinator. Just say it this this guy. You gotta play this guy. We're hearing it more and more right. Was jimmy graham. I and now. Let's hear from ellen robinson very important piece here because he's very the guy throwing to me. I'll let you know who. I really like the most thrown to me since i mean he wakes excited about it because he he sees it every single day because he's at practice with him we on the outside. We don't see it every day. We have to lean on the players and the coaches to give us their view or justin feels is in you mitch. I was joking with sam about you know. The forecast of what people would say about quarterbacks of players in general when you look at a guy when they drafted him you've watched most of nfl guys have seen guys they draft in cows. They watched college football when they have time. When you get a mini camps in training camp you just kinda know you can look at it and can tell sitting in the office of meeting rooms guys. You know you like. He likes ball. He's engaging he's putting it out and the defense aside a ball you. As deep as a player you're scattered guy. You're scared of what he's doing to me and practice imagine when a game slows down what he's gonna do to the opponent. Now you start to have a conversation. You may not go to coach and say you need to play here but you like you might go over there and simply say may audrey drafted the right guy in s enough. Because it's already in the coaches my that i drafted the right guy but they need to be pushed to go over convinced it may convince push to make the next step but but does he need to start right away absolutely one hundred percent. Why because they got a team. That's ready right now that the defense isn't like chicago. Bears nineteen eighty-five but the defense is so good that if with a little bit of help from the offense of the ball they can be successful in make strong run it winning that division. It was vital that we had canadian drivers in indycar and luckily the boys have had major impact as they've graduated up the development ladder to get to the big cars gathering experience with each and every race. He's working his way up. The indycar finish order for legend. Aj foy checking back in with dalton kellet on race. Line radio dalton. Great to get you back on. I mean the season numbers. We know what they are in the top twenty for most of the races so far this season we knew that when the season started you know consistency was certainly one of your goals in progress does take time. But i know that you know you'd like these finishes to be closer to the top ten right with that. Yeah that'd be a fair assessment As you pointed out the name of the game consistency you know. We're we're in the hundred leader circle battle. It's gonna be kinda heating up as a season comes to the end. It's not really listening. You wanted to be Had some bad luck hasn't really health and just trying to find a face on on on on the road courses but i think between myself and and engineering team but we've decimation some improvements there but so looking for that consistency but each races is a classroom isn't it. I mean it's not a cliche. it's true. I mean you you do learn something each and every time out regardless of the outcome right for sure i mean you know. That's the big thing. If i if i didn't come out of a weekend you know better more experience than i than i went in Given that i'm relatively still you know. Experience wise men more or less a rookie. That would definitely be a problem if i wanted to continue to learn. That is something that i've been able to keep that correctional. Going sure exactly can kill it. And we're we're all we're all trying to improve and trying to get better and we went lose as a as demon as an organization. And you mentioned the engineering of the start of the season. You had a years experience with aj's team and you know what you want out of the car. Now you feel. You're still making progress in that area. Telling the engineers exactly what you want on the car. how about that i think. That's some definitely had improvements Good tangibly i think especially working with this year sort of seen. Or where does he focuses on. And kind of you know queuing up to second a little bit you know. I think the big part of the lifetime these cars coming out of that commitment releasing the brakes on speed out of the accent trying to figure out what what is the feeling. What is you know. Where do we need the grip and our. How are we going to achieve that. And that's what we've been focusing on quite a bit and that's the thing it's been paid off. Don't kill it on race line radio. You mentioned sebastian board as a teammate. The guy's not had the best luck himself this year but no doubt you've learned some things from him. He's had so much success over his career. What might you think the biggest thing he's taught you. So far dalton. What might that be. I think the biggest most probably easiest are articulate. earlier is just the you know one. I've been able to pick up in terms of his breaking technique. That's been where. I've seen the most gain. I think that Detroit for example in the double header. There was really able to focus on just that that break release phase of of the corner and using the brakes combination hysteria. Really roll the speeds to the apex. That's the most like you know tangible thing. I think otherwise it's just seeing how could be engineers and you know obviously the alerted to with his experience and penetrate. He can kind of be more demanding. Than maybe i can but the same time. It's like you know when when something wrong. He definitely says it or when ten he's like no you know i. I'm just that confidence knowing. It's like either the car or me and and being being being a hundred percent certain about it so that's something i've been striving towards you know. Keep in proven in that regard as far the call related information to to the engineers sharp. But he's so precise isn't it. I mean he's just like you know it's it's this way and boom right. It's no no messing around. yeah i know. But he's be you know as a as a younger less experienced guy. He's been great to work with and i his reputation as one thing but you know how he actually is in in the engineering been super helpful. And i think we've we've worked together so that's that's and it also helps it like you know. We'll try the same set in on both cars. Talk to our engineers and independently of each other and more or less. Almost eight hundred. Eighty eighty ninety percent of time comes the same clothes and stuff like that. Good kind of parody. As far as our feedback gives him confidence and they don't at least you know the right stuff in in in the car. They can try something on my car. They can put it on his talking to bring you know diametrically opposite doesn't kill it on race line radio in the last time we chatted. I asked you.
