‘Walking Dead’ To End With Expanded Season 11, Daryl-Carol Spinoff Series Set at AMC
"So the walking dead I am a huge fan of that show. It turns out, though, I guess I'm not as big a fan is I thought just the other day I was looking through, you know, looking through, like Save DVR recordings. And Ah, I think I have it set to keep 10 episodes or something. You know, as it's recording them. And Dalton are there and no one's watching the home. I mean, I really feel like I haven't watched an episode. About a year ago. We were kind of back into thin after Rick left and the spoiler alert. But it's going on. It continues. There's still 30 more episodes, but then they're going to end it. Yes. Spoiler alert. 12 seasons in, You know, the guy leaves. Or 10 seasons. I don't know. So it's taking a while to kill this thing, often, by the way, it will not be completely dead. Even once the original the walking dead is over. There's a zillion spin offs and etcetera. AMC announced the upcoming 11th season is going to be the last. But instead of the usual 16 episodes, it'll be 24. It'll be stretched out over two years, and we're actually gonna get 30 more episodes because, as previously announced the show, is adding six additional episodes onto the end of the current season. Entities in 10, so they'll be airing new episodes through late 2022. But the end is in sight. So if you go and look, it is a good show. I I really enjoy some of the characters. I don't know why I just haven't been able to jump back on it. Since that one guy left. Um Also, there are at least two more spin offs in the pipeline. There is a fear the walking dead show already happening. One of these new spin offs is going to follow Daryl and Carol. But that's what we call, but that's a great name for a zombie show. Daryl and Carol Fight the zombies. Ahh! That's Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. That's coming in 2023. So soon is this arc is over. Their characters are going to continue on Witches, and they always have had kind of a cool relationship. Very brother sister thing right. There is a scripted anthology. Siri's called Tales of the Walking Dead That's going to feature And you know, they did like a little. They used to do these little vignettes. So as you're watching the walking dead in the middle of the commercial break, there would be like a minute long chunk of Ah sort of like an episodic like a cereal like you'd have to stop in the middle of the commercials. Toe Watch this, and there would be several Many tiny episodes of as it followed. Some others something completely unrelated in the world of the walking dead story. So I guess that's sort of what this is going to be. Tails of the walking dead is going to feature individual episodes and arcs that feature new or existing characters. Backstories another standalone stories. So if you just love if you see nothing wrong with the world of zombies, and you can't get enough of it, they'll be these little this's whole other spin off show, which is going to be random stories from the walking dead world. So that's going to join fear the walking dead and a limited Siri's called the Walking Dead World Beyond. Which premieres next month. So while I'm telling you that the walking dead is ending, it's not ending. So in part is it's really not even that great of a show like I honestly feel like it. All you do is watch people run from one side of the screen to the next and they're just here we are. We're running there were on the run. It's It's not that great. It hasn't held my attention at all. Yeah, it's Ah. First use yours to the first few seasons are great, and it's not just running from side to side. Their whole episodes where I'm like There were no zombies in that I need more zombies. I'm watching a zombie show. And I'd like there to be zombies enough with the governor. Cool. Don't worry. He's out. He was out couple seasons ago. Ah, yeah, it's ah, you know? Look, if you love it, don't worry, apparently is never going away. So walking dead. Everybody am sees really their anchor show. I don't know what? Well, I am seated madman, right? So that was a solid chauffeur Them it, wass. What else is on AMC breaking bad? Both of those gone. That was big. Again. Breaking bad was then better call. Saul must be too, right. Yeah. Yeah, that must be right. And that's a big show for them, actually. Ah, anyway, walking dead. It's a thing.

"Wrote her incisive speech. But the red scare train was already rolling across America crushing anyone who dared stand in its way by this point, trumbull, either new or strongly suspected that the FBI was monitoring him. He adopted the habit of shouting at the FBI whenever he took a phone call chastising them for tapping the phones of an American citizen. Trumbull also began openly fighting back against the activities of the WHO AC which he considered to be a form of thought, control and intellectual terror. He also pointed out the committee's Antisemitism and anti black racism along with its general hatred of free speech. Trump bows furious public assault on the WHO AC struck some in Hollywood as paranoid, but as the saying goes just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they are doubt to get you. And of course they were out to get him as the FBI had been since nineteen thirty nine. On September twenty, first nineteen, forty seven. It finally happened. trombone and forty others in the film industry or call to appear before the full who act in Washington. A deputy US marshal drove out trombones ranch to serve him with a subpoena in person. trombone received the long-expected news with APLOMB. He even took time to offer the Marshall a cold glass of water. He handled it so calmly that at first his three young children didn't realize what a momentous occasion it was. It wasn't until later that evening. When trumbull warned his family, he might be going to jail that the true stakes became clear. Communism itself still wasn't a crime, but trumbull intended to resist the committee's attempts to pressure him into a confession. He also was committed to not revealing the names of any other communists which he certainly would be asked to do. His recalcitrant said already put him on a list of witnesses expected to be hostile. The WHO act would be looking for any excuse to accuse him of perjury or contempt of Congress. With the battle lines drawn trumbull set off for Washington in October of nineteen, forty, seven along with the other witnesses on the hostile list he'd become known as one of the nineteen. Some of them really were communists, some were ex-communists, and some simply believed the WHO AC was overreaching, but all agreed the hostile witnesses would be stronger as a united front. The nineteen held talks amongst themselves before their hearings began. strategizing for how to best resist the WHO acts high pressure tactics without being jailed. Targets of the WHO acts investigations in other industries had been blacklisted, and they feared the same would happen in Hollywood, but on October nineteenth the day before the hearings began a studio attorney promised that none of the witnesses would lose a job or be blacklisted as a result of their testimony. Armed with the belief that their livelihoods were secure, the nineteen began their testimony. Though forty two year old trump. Oh wasn't scheduled to testify for a week. He addressed the nation by Radio on the twentieth, labeling the WHO AC. Hostile to the constitution of the United States and a conspiracy against the American people and their government. Bold words for someone already in their crosshairs when trumbull finally took the stand on October twenty eighth, the committee was eager to fire back if he was a hostile witness, the congressman assembled to interrogate him were far more hostile examiners. I. The committee denied Trombone the opportunity to read an opening statement defending himself in his own words. Then they rejected evidence, he offered to introduce including statements in support of his work from general. HAP Arnold and Los Angeles municipal judge. And when they're questioning began, the committee tried to limit trombone to yes, or no answers, a tall order for someone with trump gift for pros. Trumbull was steaming by the time they got around to the defining question of all who act hearings. Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party? The WHO act love to ask that one. A, yes, answer was permission to declare someone UNAMERICAN and blacklist them. No answer was a green light to charge them with perjury. If the committee could prove, the witness was lying. And if the witness tried to the question, he could be charged with contempt of Congress. trombone chose the third option instead of answering. Yes, or no, he asked a rhetorical questions and demanded to see the evidence against him. He even argued with the committee about whether or not. It was constitutional to ask such a question. Are you now? Have you been a member of the Communist Party? I. Know that the quality of my last answer was acceptable since I am still on the stamp. Land, the last question, the new quest I see. Must have some reason for asking me this question. You can address the. I understand that members of the press have been given an hour. Mighty car belonging to me that true. That's not not as a question, even in the face of condemnation and interrogation trombone didn't lose his sense of humor. But wit and eloquence couldn't negate the fact that trumbull was up river without a paddle as he left the witness stand. He lost his cool for a moment and accused the committee of creating American concentration camp. Naturally men who consider themselves to be the greatest patriots in the nation didn't take that well. By the time, the hearings adjourned on October thirtieth. The original nineteen hostile witnesses had been whittled down to ten including Oh now nicknamed the Hollywood ten. The group was roundly denounced in center right media. All ten were charged with contempt of Congress by the end of November. trombone began making preparations for his trial. Though, he didn't yet realize what a high price he'd pay for his resistance. That's coming up next and now back to the story. In November of nineteen, forty seven, the Hollywood ten were charged with contempt of Congress after resisting interrogation by the House UNAMERICAN activities committee when Dalton Trumbull flew home to his central California ranch. He said about putting his financial house in order. He anticipated significant economic fallout for his courage. Even when he was making thousands per week, Tromo had never been good with money now he was facing a possible drought, and he hadn't even paid his bills for recent renovation of his ranch yet, so his first priority was making some money. If financial restraint was weakness productivity, as always was his strength, even with federal charges, hanging over his head, trumble continued to write, and at first there was work for him his N. G. M. Contract was extended on November, six, nineteen,.
Coronavirus Pandemic is Making America's Food Deserts Worse
"The covert pandemic is widening the economic gap in our country. Exacerbating divides. That were already there tonight. In our continuing series inequality in America Blaine Alexander reports on access to healthy food, and how so-called food deserts are getting even worse. There's a lot packed into this little stand. Fresh fruits and vegetables most grown right out back. But for this neighborhood and Jonesboro Georgia, this stand is so much more. They're only healthy food option for miles. How crucial is this market to the people who live in this community? This market is like an oasis food desert. The nearest supermarkets about four miles away. A food desert the USDA defined it as any urban neighborhood where residents have to travel more than a mile to reach a grocery store, and you're going to see a lot. Students and teachers struggle with remote education
"That's Jimmy Fallon on the tonight show earlier this week. I think voicing the thoughts of so many families. The song was a nod to national teacher appreciation. Week which ends today. But you'd probably go on all year long like schools across the country. The week looked very different compared to years past instead of apples on their desks or gift cards from parents teachers might have received an Apple Emoji or some on then mo. You know why. It's because forty seven states and the district of Columbia have ordered or recommended school closures for the rest of the school year. Teachers across the country have taken their lessons online to try and weather this pandemic so today will some of these teachers struggles and successes in navigating remote learning. I'm Dr Sanjay Gupta. Cnn's chief medical correspondent and this is corona virus fact versus fiction. We had really try to make everything work in the virtual world and that's challenging to do because most teachers like myself we don't sign up for that. We sign up for the interaction. We sign up for the collaboration and we sign up for those human moments that you can't really replicate online. That's Chris deer. Two Thousand Twenty Louisiana teacher of the year and a finalist for the two thousand twenty national teacher of the year. I teach at Shawmut High School in Louisiana right outside of New Orleans. Dear teaches world history to seniors and AP human geography to Freshman. I didn't know what that was. He said it's sort of like anthropology inspired to teach partly because of a formative personal experience. I was in high school when Hurricane Katrina hit. I was a senior. It was our second week. It disrupted the entire region down here. I was forced to Texas. I stayed in hotels in shelters in bounced around different schools. And I missed out on a lot of big events that a lot of people look forward to their senior year sound. Familiar deer has a pretty good idea of what is current students. Probably feel. It's a time when you're supposed to be celebrating all of your hard work your dedication. Your accomplishments When your family supposed to watch you walk across that stage cheer? So it's it's a time that you'll never get to Redo and you'll never get back and it's not just a loss for dear students. Some of them will be the first in their families to graduate from high school and the ceremony would have been meaningful to the relatives as well. Dear has students who are also dreamers undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children Andy has students. They're working essential jobs while they also balance online classes. Learning Online. Might seem easy enough if you're a student with the computer or the Internet but deer also has students who didn't have the luxury of these tools so a lot of students that originally didn't have Internet when this happened. We were Distributed work in packets in just literally papers out when we were distributing food but my district personally has been a given chromebooks out to students who need them and trying to collaborate with local organizations to get hot spots to get kids connected so I think teachers all across the country are doing everything they can to get kids online and to keep that that learning going as Peron's a community school in Phoenix Arizona has also handed out chromebooks in Wi fi to some of its students. But that's not all the school is providing. I think a lot of US forget how schools are to our communities. Even if you're not a student there Hannah Wysong teaches science and English at Esperanza mostly to low income students. She has helped distribute food boxes and gift. Cards to grocery stores. But as this pandemic drags on why song in her colleagues are looking ahead. To long-term challenges families might face food is available and a lot of schools in food. Banks is. This has gone on for a couple of months and parents are not working or working less The next set that working right now is to build a fund for rental assistance. And that's just the creative problem solving. Why Song has been a part of outside the classroom after students have been set up with food and Wi fi is when her real job and the real connection begins and these teachers have come up with all kinds of new ways to do that as well something that we normally at our school? This House monthly family nights with movies are dinner or games or whatever it may be and we were really mourning the loss of family nights and we decided to do it. Virtual dance parties so we got a local Dj from a radio station. And then we invited all of the families to get on zoom there. Were I think between forty five and fifty people on between families and staff and pretty cute to see a bunch of little squares of third graders? Dancing Chris Wyckoff who teaches American history to eleventh graders? North Carolina has taken advantage of our reliance on the Internet to send his students. Some encouragement been sending out digital cards. To let them know that I still see you. I still see your work. I still see you're working hard. Wyckoff has been proud of how well his students at the Johnston County career and technical leadership academy have taken online classes after all they could easily just turned the video off and go do something else online learning you know it has its it has its good and its bad. Even depending on the type of learner you are in a lot of our students are capable of making the adjustment at home all of those the social and emotional atmosphere of home versus the social emotional atmosphere at school all of those things combined to either create atmosphere for success or failure for for the students. Chris dineen this is another. Chris said there were hiccups using video-conferencing at first we had zoom bomb the first or second date but his middle school students at Albuquerque Academy in New Mexico. Have come around. The students themselves had to adapt to a totally different style of teaching and they've actually had to become somewhat more accountable for their own behavior. Because of course we can't see them and monitor them in the ways that we normally do. Laurie Abrahams finds this challenging to. She's a special education teacher on Long Island and works with three to five year olds. Who have special needs during normal times? Work incredibly physical and requires personalized interactions with each student. These days she struggles to get her students to sit still in front of the camera. All kids do well with schedule. Especially the kids with special needs listening issues and attending issues. They really need that. They need that routine. And the you know it's very hard. It's very hard for them but like everyone else. Abrahams has come up with ways to make it work. In fact she borrowed one method of calming her students. Down from children's Yoga certification course. What I'm doing with my fingers touching my thumb to forefinger middle finger rain finger and pinkie and so you have them do that. So it's four touches and then you just say peace begins with me and they understand that peace means quiet and then we keep doing it at any time. You feel anxious or that. You need to calm down you can just you can. Just move your fingers like that. It's thoughtful it's innovative. It's what's necessary the teachers we spoke to said they've mostly worked out the kinks of remote learning and they feel optimistic about finishing the year apart from their students but in the long run. They're still not so sure. I think these kids are young enough. That if it's just four months in the scheme of along is this is not gonNa make the biggest difference because they didn't have four months of preschool. I think that in the fall if kids can't go back to school if they have to learn online. I think that's going to you know really impact this whole generation. This won't surprise you but Chris Dear Louisiana teacher whose own senior year was interrupted by Hurricane Katrina this pandemic once again highlights the need for more investment in education. I know a lot of times when the economy starts to Tank a bit. The first thing that gets cut is education and people might say well. Why do we need as much you know money for education budgets when they do things virtually and whatnot but at this time? I feel like we need more because we need more counselors. We need more. Social workers we need more therapists need smaller classes. And that's how we're going to get through this. These five teachers said the feedback. They've gotten from students and parents has mostly been positive but during the strange difficult national teacher appreciation. Week it's nice for them to hear that their efforts haven't gone unnoticed so since they can't hug their teachers in person this year we got some amazing shouts from students all over. Who want their teachers to know that their students are grateful? My Name is Dalton Davis. I am seven years old from flawless. Oregon. I want to say hi to my first grade teacher. Mrs and Mr Hello. My name is MIRA sing and I am in seventh grade. I would like to thank all of my amazing teachers. Hi My name is Leah. And I'm a fourth grader. I want to give a shot at to my awesome teacher Mr Festival. He is there every day with a smile. Hi My name is Cassie from Whittier California. And thank you to all the teachers especially my Fourth Grade Teacher Mrs Cutler and I'm Kassy's MOM Krista I also WanNa say on behalf of my fourteen year old David who has autism. We appreciate the Special Ed teachers like Mrs Gain. Thanks hi I'M AMELIA. Ham seven years old. I'm in second grade. I have the best teachers and I can't wait the virus to beautiful so I could go back to school.
The Patriots' Quarterback Question
"Mike how're you holding up Nina? We're doing great. We're healthy. I hope the same for you and all our listeners. Mike Reese covers the New England patriots for ESPN. Well Patriots. Have a lot of questions. So we're GONNA get to that. Actually I think everybody does about the England Patriots. Right now to me. I think they're the most interesting team in the NFL. At the moment I love it and you know a lot of people ask me like how do you feel about covering the Patriots? Now that Tom Brady isn't there and I said well you know that part is not the greatest feeling but when you think about compelling storylines what could be more compelling than what we're going into here which is how are they going to replace arguably the greatest quarterback of all time and that is what we're going to discuss so mike it is early. May and there is still a very long way to go until the regular season begins and obviously there are questions about that. But at this moment the two quarterbacks on the Patriots depth chart our Jarret Stidham the Auburn quarterback who New England drafted in the fourth round in two thousand nineteen and journeyman backup Brian. Hoyer for months. There's been speculation about whether they would draft someone. They did not whether they would sign juice. Winston or Andy Dalton did not so. Let's start here is Jarrett. Stidham the guy at the moment. Well there's no question minute. It's his job to lose. I would say the Patriots aren't GonNa say Jarret Stidham the guy because they don't want to put more pressure on him then is already

"Biggest questions of what's going on right now. I can't be go scores and not do things that we have to be crush. Adult discretion is advised but seriously kids of all ages are welcome. Even you grown up. Kids come was the island on spotify or wherever you listen to today explained back ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ma so last thing because I really WANNA rank Andy Dalton's worth to the cowboys but I think I think every cowboys fan should hope that antidote does play under the right circumstances in twenty twenty. Obviously you don't want to see him play. You know because something happened to Dak Prescott but I think what you want if you're a cowboys. Fan is further cowboys to lock up the number one seed or to be blowing people out in for Andy to come in because Andy Dalton is on a one year deal. What what you really want is Antidote Dalton to show the rest of the NFL. Hey guess our I've still got it and then come two thousand twenty one. Have somebody say you know what Andy? Want you come be the quarterback for the Jaguars or whatever and then you know you get a two thousand twenty two compensatory pick for him so you know I also. I just remembered while we were talking that when the cowboys interviewed Mike McCarthy they interviewed Marvin Lewis and obviously it wasn't a hundred percent known that Andy Dong would be available back then Granted the Bengals did have the number one pick and everybody kind of knew they were taking Joe Borough but I wonder if if just say shit happened there. Okay what do you think about Andy Don because who would know him better than Marvin Lewis in? I'm I'm sure that there's people that talk. I mean these coaches talk. I mean it's A. It's a small fraternity network and I'm sure that a lot of that went into all this decision making when you know any goal to me seems like a really good. I love the instagram photos or video Kim throwing in the backyard the net. I'm like is that Photoshop. Because he threw like four or five and his his kids like giving them toss and Stony Brook. Look at this point I really. I didn't really follow some online anti-dole because when he was at Tcu yes When the cinncinnati-based you know in this part of the country will we follow the cowboys. But now I mean I I think it's a I think it's a great decision on to bring a man again at a bargain deal and under the circumstances in look. I'M NOT GONNA PUT. I'll I'll I'll use this. Hypothetically what did they tell Andy Gall look? We're going to give you a one year deal. You'RE GONNA get a chance to play 'cause we don't we may not sign all that Prescott so you're going to be the guy. Well I'm just saying hypothetically as you get two or three games on your Bell I look. I'm just I'm trying to you know just throwing stuff against the wall. We won't stuff up in the air and you know the the sky's the limit with this to saying that if you buy into that I can understand that whole situation with Andy Gull. Silt they can be a started in a national football. He goes out there and puts up. Preseason plays an appreciate play maybe two or three games in the regular. I don't know I'm just saying the best case scenario for Andy Dalton for Jerry and Stephen and we'll maclay to sell him. You're may be all at chance to quarterback game. Excuse me as a quarterback and you in ball then you show the world look. I still get skills. I think the I mean. There's clearly among backup quarterbacks. The Path has there's two paths. I think if you're a backup trying to get back to being a starter one is and this is harder to do you go to a team that seemingly has a very questionable starter in hope you know as bad as that sounds that that that player gets benched and the best example is Ryan Tannehill last year. You know kind of banged on the fact that Marcus Mariota wasn't that great you know was patient. Got His opportunity. Made the most of it then got his deal now. He's started for the Tennessee. Titans I think the other route the more common route is the one teddy bridgewater tip goby a backup on a very good a very high profile team that you know gets a lot of national publicity and you know. Get your name back out. There and Teddy Bridgewater was a big. He was one of the most popular players in the NFL last year. Just because of who the New Orleans saints are I mean. I'm not trying to anything from Teddy. The guy went five know when he started for drew. Brees but that boosts your you know your image and whatever you WANNA call it a lot. So if Andy Dalton does you know get a chance in mop up duty or whatever for the cowboys to do it for the cowboys. That's gotTa help and so it's something that we that what we do is put out. There is a scenario. And you know given the circumstances in your we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA take this This look different scenarios. The cowboys may take in advantage that they don't have which I'm for sure they'll one way or the other. Something's going to happen whether the franchise whether sign a long-term building we don't know yet. There's a lot of time but again I think when you look at the situation that they are now I think they were kinda forced not forced but well yeah to to be able to have some security in a backup quarterback and again three million dollars to play back quarterback. Chuck it's okay for Danny goal. Okay so I don't think it's a bad deal. Consider you know he. He got booted out of Cincinnati. Go Different Route. Three million dollars from the cowboys perspective. For the best possible insurance you could have is one hundred percents worth it. Okay so for the purposes of this exercise we're going to assume rightfully so that Andy Dalton. Qb To for the cowboys. So where does he rank for you? He he's the what most important player on the cowboys. I think to start it off. I don't think he's any more valuable than any of your eleven starters which obviously includes Dak Prescott on offense. Or you're eleven starters on defense. I don't think that your backup quarterback is more valuable unless you know you had. Tom Brady backing up. I mean there's that's ridiculous but I don't think that your backup quarterback is more valuable than any of your starters. Do you agree with that? I agree with that now with you. Okay so fifteenth and will will will have Joel. We're talking about right now. I think it's a I think it's a great situation to be in. I think yeah I think under the circumstances I mean I can't. He's not a starter. Backup quarterback and you know that's what we do. We value that. You know the the court of the southern when you don't have We we valued at more than if they actually had. That makes okay so so I to me. It's it hasn't changed my perspective. I think as we go on and time dismay change to one eight share onto one. I think it may be a different. The different circumstances and how they value his his His presence on the show then for now though. He's you know he's not in the top twenty. Two players on the team is twenty hundred or is is You know we still have yet to see who this team swing. Tackles going to be Is is you know Connor McGovern more valuable. I is or if conner's stars are your. Are Your backup. You know. Knicks Offensive Lineman more valuable than your backup quarterback. That's trying to figure out where Andy Dalton's worth is too. I think he's I think he's more valuable for the backups. I think is you mentioned? You have the Levin twenty two starters you have but when I look at the whole you know the the scheme of this team Knowledge you have a quarterback like that and look. It's a hypothetical question. Okay because a lot of things are you know. In the event that there there is a hold out. I mean I think it is an insurance policy for the cowboys. And so his body becomes more important But certainly with other positions on this team. I mean Joe Donna. I think that he is. You know that's a question. Mark at center position there. Because you lose a star like Travis Frederick. That's a question more of a concern so e right now in the value of the of what these what the I mean. I guess you can look as being valuable because the guys got you know. He's got a fill in the shoes of perennial all pro potential hall of Famer. And that's not easy to if we're let's assume JOE loonies starter. So then he's he's more valuable right and Andy Dalton because he's you're starting center hypothetically so like hypothetically on defense are would you say Randy Gregory and or Alden? Smith are more valuable to the two thousand twenty cowboys and Andy Dalton. Assuming that playing there's a lot of assumptions and hypothetical. I understand if you're active player Trindon is back last time. I checked the backup quarterback back this sits over on the sidelines. And you know this is a clip award is has The Europeans on night knows what plays are rancho he needs a non factor the people that are actually contributed whether it's rotational defensive. Line obviously yeah. There's more value. There are Jay without a doubt is Andy Dalton more valuable than Tony Pollard. Who like who between those two players who is more valuable this contribution what he can do as far as special teams on his values running back as far as a one two. Pots with Zeke Well without a doubt he's more valuable it because he's GonNa be. He's can contribute Andy Dalton as a stands right now Dak Prescott. The starting quarterback only value that he has if he gets hurt in. He can't play. And then all of a sudden. You know these everything changes practice. And that's a good chain. That's the interesting exercise from me. Like this is a weird way to put it. I guess but like if you I don't know if you had an amazing car right and you had car insurance but say you didn't have. I don't know I'll put it all. I'll reframe it. You know how like when you buy a new like an IPAD or computer. Whatever and I don't want to buy the insurance for yeah and it's always no. It's always know unless it's like something really really really really care and you're also going to happen. You're going to drop that. So let's call it. Your your computer your your. You can't live without this computer. It's the center of everything you do. And you have the extended warranty for that or you have your IPAD and you. You know your sign has. Ps four whatever and all those other things but those don't have extended warranties so then it becomes a manner of what's more important to you. What do you value more the extended warranty on on your your computer or your IPAD. You know what I mean because I think that that's the that's interesting conundrum for me is what do you what do you value more the the security knowing that you have security for your main thing or your other thing and that's all right. That's why I think Tony Pods an interesting example because to your point if everything goes well obviously Tony. Pires more valuable to the cowboys. Because he's going to contribute way more often than Andy Dalton but Andy Dalton does give you some mental piece that you have that so what do you. What do you value more value for me? I valued I mean. It's an awesome conversation to be Korea. So you know this. All these fans are like okay. Well we got any dulling that wants too much money. So we're we're we're good you know. Let's say it. It's just you know this spontaneous reaction to you know whatever they get caught up in a bid to sign a free agent like golf which they don't they forget about that. Prescott about how much you can contribute. And what he's done on his last four years so you know I value more of the you have. It's like debt man. You have to have a bench attack or death everywhere so you gotta you gotTa value. Dana's plus you quarterback for sure to me or to me wants to say okay. I really value a lot of Andy Dalton because of the situation that Prescott the unknown we all know. Hopefully it's GonNa get done But what happens if he holds out for two years or excuse me for two years for two games? Which I don't think is GonNa Happen but the point and one side's GonNa is going to bed and right now. I think the cowboys Sonnen someone like Andy. Dalton makes it a little easier for them. Not that they have leverage that they'd have security..

"By. I'm joined by my calls. John Cheated Dr Betty especially guest. He is by default. The only antidotes Dalton Fan left Cincinnati me. Baker's he loves antidote like nobody has loved another man ever he loves any doctor way. Daddy loves DORITOS. Yeah Nah I think daddy loves DILDOS MORE THAN ANY HUMAN DOES. So you wet. Yeah yeah but but look so. We still don't have anybody watching the show so guys we can just relax inn duck. Oh now we have five people. Okay this for US yeah family. Yes then look Andy Dalton signs with the cowboys seven million dollars right three million guaranteed backup money clearly the Logie so tell us maybe why well I mean. I'm excited for any Dalton going to the cowboys because I I was thinking if I was Andy. Dalton's agent then. Why wouldn't you? WanNa go somewhere where they obviously for whatever reason and I think Dak Prescott is a good quarterback but for whatever reason they don't WanNa pay him the forty plus million he wants so. I think that Dalton is brought in so that he can apply pressure to either make. Dak Sign a more team friendly deal. Or if he just plays through his franchise tag than they can just let him walk in the. Half Dalton there I think the reason he signed a one year deal is not so they can go somewhere else next year but he can get signed on if you next year as the starter if they let I why do you think Godsend didn't ask for forty million a year. You know if you see him that much logie please. What why he didn't ask the before the cowboys for forty million. Yeah Yeah I mean. That's that's not even an issue like he's just he's always want the more money well. Yeah but Dalton's nine a position that once I agree I as a multimillionaire. Let me tell you. Never never underestimate the evil of billionaires. Okay this guy this Jerry Jones. Got This guy's really and I totally agree with logo saying this was a trying to think of apply to put it that. I want to use the word eight. How shall we say not nice moves? I was going to use a bad word. Not Nice. Move to put pressure on one of our really great. Qb's Dak Prescott and and it's it's very unfair to him to put him in position to put someone who looks like a started with is willing to be paid as a backup and that was the key with adults and signing okay. It isn't it isn't about Dalton. Possibly starting is about Jerry Jones being Jerry Jones and it was definitely not cool. Well I think that Dalton is in a position where if Dak Prescott tries to hold out to Not WanNa play under the franchise tag like a on bell situation than I think it really is beneficial for the cowboys that he could be starter for the first couple of games of the season which all just adds into like what you're saying is. I think it's all just pressure on deck. I agree and you know what we've learned something from any. It's not bad to have a situation where your your backup is decent. You have a good quarterback as a backup. That's a smart thing to. I'm not saying the move. Make sense or a Nick foles type RUN FOR DALTON SUPERBOWL MVP. I mean. You can't foresee that stuff but I know we can't ruled it out. I was one of the people who wanted Dalton to be backup for Joe Borough and people that worried bill you know but not that seventeen million a year maybe seven hundred dollars him and give him the exact same contract. Dallas just gave him. Yeah to be our backup. They had to do that because yeah so they would have to cut higher him. Just how to Matt Ledbetter for that idea gave that idea so John Here we are with Logie Beta the biggest banger fan in the history of than does that. I mean even even Mother Nature Colby Doubt Manage Museum as Dolphin Fan. He should be Laszlo defended by glass. There should be buzzers going off when you want to touch him. I mean let's be honest until like late in in you know Joe Boroughs College career. Logie still wanted to give more chance gets. Yeah so might think is this. You were saying doctors ever had real coaching real talented around him. Give him that chance and he is still can shine. Why do you think you could be started? Cincinnati but not in Dallas Either why don't you think is good enough You're putting words in my mouth judd. John Backyard. We need some smart. I mean this is very bad. Intelligence words quickly stat. John What do you think about my Theory that that. It's to put pressure on deck. I think we just need to look at the facts here. Dak Prescott was placed with a franchise tag for some stupid reason the cowboys don't WanNa pay him even though he's one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL the kind of put themselves in the corner after they gave out gave Zeke Gilead fifty million dollars guaranteed to play in physician They have money to pay back but they still don't WanNa do for whatever reason but I'm of the belief that this has nothing to do with deck. I think if you signed any onto a seven million dollar contract up to seven million dollars to be a backup quarterback that's one of the best deals that you can get at an position. I don't have a problem with that. I don't think it has anything to do with that. I I was surprised that he went to Dallas. Because I don't know anything about that Prescott situation. I would assume that they be working their tails off to get any type of deal done before. He asked the plan their Francesa. Because we does play on their franchise tag any continues to be Dak Prescott. Which is the top quarterback in the NFL surrounded by great talent that his causes even only go even more massacre? Well above forty million dollars. Guaranteed 'cause in this time period reminder. Patrick Mahomes is going to get a deal. Probably he's GonNa ask for more than forty million dollars. A Year Shawn Watson could be in that same conversation as well. There's a reason why the cowboys wait. This out. And the signing dome has nothing to do with replacing DAK. Prescott Andy Dalton. Nothing has everything to do with him. Being a backup close to home on a good roster if he has to play reenter the free agency market next year. Maybe something like what. D- The best case scenario to get something that Ryan Tannehill and that's only special scenario wear Ryan. Tena ended up playing because marks was bad. Dak Prescott is not in the same strategy. Marcus Mariota Stratosphere as Prescott That's tweeting but God okay. Not Dalton what was it last year. I think in when they're like why didn't they trade me like okay? What do we get maybe seven picky trade him before the trade deadline is right? We should that we'll move with. Here's my thing Golsen said. Why didn't you trade me so I could have a chance to start instead of sitting behind Ryan Finley froze supposed to be like five six games of the time right was it? How many games are like six games are no eight games or Saudi? Aitken's the ended up sitting three games. But when is this he was so upset? He's like I want a chance to start. Well now he had the chance to go through the Jaguars you know. I I hate to say it. I really didn't want to see it but let's the steelers were Roethlisberger's breaking down. Yeah a chance where there's a higher you know opportunity for him to start but he wanted to go home. So what what does this is created a backup deal you know is going to be back. You know so. Go ahead John. He wanted to go anywhere that he was wanted. It was like the whole issues with Dalton potentially feeling some form strife towards the declaration. The timing is everything timing is the one thing that all the timing of his benching collided right at the trade deadline. So he's able to work out any type of deal with another team. That was this unfortunate. Timing the timing of all these other quarterbacks entering the free agent market will minute Dalton wasn't a free agent he was still under contract the bengals and I think both sides realize that the best way for the store cows was trade and they and they took their time to try to get that trade. They did everything in their power to try to get that trade was Chicago. They almost like I guess they were in talks. Do Jacksonville clearly. Neither team wanted wanted them as much Chicago False in Jackson's WANNA garnishments. You obviously New England saw they're like four interceptions against him in December and said we don't want any part of that we rather go. Jared stood up the market for Donna's Was extremely low which what was much lower than what many fans expected to be because the NFL's opinion has soured over the past four years because the only way to like a day after he was cut. You know you haven't even go to the JAGS. The Patriots like people expected them because those were his favorable Places to go to compete for a starting job in terms of just being back of on a low contract he had played. That's why he signed early but for what many people thought he could be this year as a guy who can compete for starting job. That never happened because you know what so. I WANNA jump in John. Still you're saying that Dak Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL works. And I have I have to bring up this. You're saying that the opinion over the last four years of Andy Dalton by the NFL has soured. However we know that just at the beginning of this year people were talking about that. He's still one of the top you know starting quality quarterbacks in the NFL. So I think you're saying that patriots don't want him because of him throwing four interceptions against think the Patriots don't want him because they're taking Trevor Lawrence so I don't think he was ever in there I think that they want a backup situation. Like Ryan Finley versus Jake Dollah gala. So that they can get Trevor Lawrence so so he thinks hearing really crazy crazy. Logie say Daddy No. I'm sorry to interrupt you here is yeah sorry if I Smith logie saying basically John. Let me just summarize he's saying antidote. That is so good that the Patriots couldn't afford for him to win on these gangs. No He's not the problem. Well listen. But here's the more important thing. What did we know this week? We know that that Marvin Lewis just took credit for all of Dalton's playoff losses. Right on sports illustrated James. Repeating shared that right so Marvin Lewis comes out. He says. Look all of Dalton's postseason failures are on me? Well that leaves all of his regular season success as as his what he's do right and then you say the last couple of years myself have been that well. We have a bottom ranked defense. We have bottom rank off line. But here's the missing link that you might be missing in Dallas. Mike McCarthy is a very good friend to Marvin Lewis. This must stop. You can manifest. Yeah we don't want always afraid John GonNa leave their stream and who's going to explore the explode? Yeah so so. I told you the reason. We can't accept Marvin Lewis as the reasoning. There is we watch those postseason games. That's like me saying that I'm responsible for daddy was horrible political opinions. I could say that we have ears and eyes and we see what happens and with Andy Dalton. Look I love the man? I'm not saying that Marvin Lewis is right. What I'm saying is is that Marvin Lewis went to his buddy. Mike McCarthy said Look Man Dalton wasn't responsible for those postseason losses that was on us that was on the team. Mike McCarthy who just pay Dalton of three to seven million to put pressure on Dak Prescott bear in mind as of last year as of last year. Not not this past season where the bengals may or may not have been calling bad place that they could tank for. Joe Borough a table that as of last year Dalton ranked between Shawn Watson and Carson Wentz and you're saying John that Dak Prescott is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL based on basically last year loan up until last year. Andy Dalton was debatably on the same level of Dak Prescott and I think you put him in a good side. We I really glad you brought that up because I did the research about this and I would like to me. Wasn't facts brother. Yeah I don't want to despair any more than we've already done so I to. I don't WanNa include twenty nineteen so basically did is a split up dullness Stats in the first four years. Compared to Dax for four years led Dalton's next for us as well and he said the statistics that we need to look at to clarify. What makes a good quarterback or we're not going to go completion percentage..

"There are a couple of places we think about where we think and don't could've win and possibly the starter and Dallas. Sure and the hell wouldn't have been one of them. Dan What do you think Greenie? I look at it like this. Let's say Andy Dalton hypothetically went to New England right. If that happened everybody would be going on television this morning and going. Wow The patriots with Andy Dalton. Maybe now they're the favorites. Maybe Bill Belichick can get this team back to Super Bowl with Andy Dalton and we would be looking at Andy Dalton in a positive light man five hundred years in the playoffs in when his defense plays well. He wins a bunch of football games in his last four years with company teams. He's played good football. Any Dalton could play he. This is not a normal backup quarterback signing backup quarterback. I know what normal backup quarterback? Signings look like they are. There's no question about it. There is a massive upgrade starter to backup. That's not the case here. Andy Dalton if any adult and had to go and play this season with the Dallas cowboys he would throw around four thousand yards and twenty six touchdowns and they would be sniffing nine or ten wins that offenses loaded and so we gotta to make sure we frame. Andy Dalton the right way because he's he's he's still a very capable quarterback within this offense and I'll go back to it. The cowboys no longer have to fear July fifteenth in this franchise tag or long-term extent deck. They cannot move Greenie. They don't have to move on number now. Everyone else already knows what Dan does. Not because he can't see the feedback from where he is sitting. Jalen rose as join the conversation and Jalen. We're going to talk about last day but the pain expressions on your face. Jalen make me dying to hear what it is. You want to contribute to this good morning to you. Intelligent handsome gentlemen. I have to make sure I pointed to my good friend. Dan The he forgot about so many years of playing quarterback in the NFL that actually the most important position on a team could be backup quarterback. Do I have to tell you that? Andy Dalton isn't a threat to deck. Now if you go say Cam knew that. Become a threat and not a threat. Let me just tell you what a lot of squads around the league did to improve their quarterback who Mr Orlovsky Saints added James. I don't know how James got one million dollar get up to seven but that's another subject for another day packers at Love Eagles at Jalen a couple in both rounds as a matter of fact Dallas Ads Dalton in my Detroit. Lions had a chance to add to a three chance. We had chaz green there. We do it so go ahead. All roads always lead backstage right. Jay this is not a threat to deck thing. I'm not saying that it is obvious to me that Andy Dalton is the backup quarterback in Dallas. But this isn't Jamison New Orleans because the cowboys don't have hall of Famer as their starter and making one more run the saints to also it's for a million dollars. The packers drafted a guy that they think is their future. The Eagles took a guy in the second round because it's justified because of the lack of health that they're started showing but what I'm saying is the cowboys don't have to fear deck going. Sit Out. I'm not going to sign the deal because then the cowboys are we got a guy that we feel confident in with the team that we have around us that we can go win. Football Games with the cowboys have gained the power back. That's the point Jalen. I gotta ask Marcus a question. Dick Swag who you and I both know left in the locker room and you look right in the locker room and then you look behind center. The players are going to feel a lot different. Andy Dalton Versus Dak Prescott emotionally and physically especially.

"A situation where the cowboys would go to dull and they're not going to resume this tag at this point. They want to get this done by all means. I understand why everybody seems frustrated by this for me. It's always been about the deadline. It's always been about midsummer getting to the point where they can get. This tied up by July fifteenth if they don't have a deadline to me. I don't think it gets done ultimately though I think that with that July Fifteenth Deadline Dak Prescott signs a long term deal on the final day. That guys who are franchise tag can do so again to be clear though the cowboys while very unlikely in theory could threaten to rescind the Franchise Tag. Which would leave that guy guy who's never made anywhere near the kind of money that it would pay in a position where he might be a strange spot with every other team. Basically having made their quarterback decisions. Yes Oh my I guess the point. I'm trying to get at here. Is less likelihood of it happening than its value in some sort of negotiation. No doubt about it and by the way like I said Andy Dalton coming to them at steal a bargain certainly the cowboys. WanNa make clear. This has nothing to do with Dak but again we can all see sort of what that means. Jerry Jones going into the season with Andy Dalton potentially as the starter is a lot different than going into with cooper rush. Who I'm guessing for a lot of people are saying who's Cooper. That's first time I've ever heard that name in my life. Yes and with the signing of Dalton. It's probably the last all right. Jack Thank you very much. Well done. We'll get more from you as we continue. Let me get my guys in here this morning. Danske and Marcus. Spears are ready to go and Dan. The second I saw this on Saturday night I called you because I was. I find this just a fascinating move. You read it well. It's a really smart move by the cowboys. It would have been smart move by any contending football team that sees. Hey We're playoff caliber football team and if our backup has to play one game and win one game. It's going to be worth whatever amount of money we choose to pay him but this is also a chess move. I mean you heard Jeff Darlington talk about midsummer.
Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton signs 1-year deal with Dallas Cowboys
"That a lot of people when we saw the signing of Andy Dalton to the Dallas Cowboys the first reaction was wait what yeah that that happened and so then you go through the process okay Andy Dalton's been a starter for a long time in Cincinnati obviously they drafted Joe burrow number one overall in the draft out of LSU so clearly he is going to be their future so Andy Dalton is signing with the Dallas Cowboys will war would be signed with the Dallas Cowboys what's the meaning there because any don't miss played very well at times he's been into the post season but there is the the offer out there to dak Prescott they're trying to work out a deal and there's a lot of things you can sort of surmised from that if you want but sometimes the map is the math and the numbers are the numbers and I thought that Edward you said this on on Sunday morning on ESPN radio basically summed it up best if you just look at what the two contract offers are it should tell you a lot
Bengals decline WR John Ross' fifth-year option

"Andy Dalton State with the Cincinnati. Bengals has been decided. And it's the outcome that we all pretty much figured was going to happen with the veteran quarterback after the selection of Joe Borough. Hey everyone I'm Anthony Costanza with the orange black insider bengals podcast also one of the Cincy jungle staff members there. Thanks for tuning in. I know it's the middle of the day for many of you but some big news is hit. The wires and franchise altering news is at the wire earlier today on Thursday. Cincinnati bengals parted ways with veteran quarterback. Andy Dalton Dalton had been with the team since twenty eleven. He was the second round. Pick toward the top of that round in two thousand eleven after the Bengals came off a terrible twenty ten campaign in reeling from Carson Palmer forcing his way out of Cincinnati. The bengals hand was forced. They didn't jump at quarterback in the first round of that draft even though there were many Christian Ponder Jake Locker Cam. Newton was already out of reach but Blaine Gabbert. Among many others were options at the bengals could have grabbed on copper. Nick was an option the bengals could have grabbed instead what they did they grab. Aj Green and they got quarterback Andy Dalton in the second round. The rest is history. There's a complicated past with Andy Dalton and the Cincinnati Bengals in their fan base. It's hard to make of the feelings. I think that a lot of fans are feeling today with the departure. Vandy Dalton. Some of it I think is expected. It's been since the season ended and the meteoric rise of Joe Borough in the college ranks his insane season in the bengals grabbing of the number one overall pick even if the bengals didn't have the number one overall pick Miami had unseated them for that in the bengals still held a top five pick. One had to assume that it was either going to be Joe Borough Justin Herbert or to attack. Oh by LOA that would end up in Cincinnati and be the heir apparent depending on which player that they took in this year's class. Maybe Andy Dalton stuck around for another year and played and started and let one of those guys develop and or he'll up if it was one of the other two names mention or it would play out the way that it's played out on Thursday were Dalton is released and Joe Borough is now the unquestioned starter for the Cincinnati Bengals. What'S NEXT FOR ANDY? Dalton is to be determined. There are some landing spots. We'll talk about that in just a second. Some perceived fits and possible avenues Randy Dalton to start and maybe some sneaky ones that nobody really is talking about but Andy Dalton is no longer with the Cincinnati bengals has seventeen plus million dollar salaries off the books and the bengals. Now have over twenty million dollars cap space. That's not with the rookie class coming in here. Not Counting that quite yet. So maybe the move paves the way for the Bengals to make another free agency. Move a waiver. Wire move to add some more talent on the books we don't know but as of now that seventeen and a half million dollar figure or so is off of the Bengal salary cap hit for twenty twenty. What's ahead for Andy? Dalton remains to be seen as I've said there are a lot of conjectures as to where he may end up. Apparently there's reports that he forced the told the Bengals to release me at As of Thursday. How substantiated that is. I don't know but it would seem that. He wants to find a place to go sooner rather than later land on his feet sooner rather than later and potentially get into a playbook system as soon as possible so he has the best opportunity to potentially grab a starting opportunity elsewhere. There are not many of those out right now and the quarterback free agent class is currently pretty deep cam. Newton's out there Joe flacco out there. Andy Dalton's out there Jameis. Winston just got a deal with the saints a backup quarterback on a very very low salaried incentive laden deal to be the backup in New Orleans. Ironically Carolina grabbed New Orleans is backup in Teddy Bridgewater to be their Guy Kyle. Alan is still there Jacksonville. Lights Gardner minhsiu Jay Gruden is there. Apparently that's reportedly the biggest hotspot for the antidote. Potentially land makes sense where he would go there. And if you would get a starting spot who knows you would think that there would be probably the best chance there. New England did not select a quarterback in this year's draft. They seem to be fine as of this moment as we sit here Thursday afternoon with jared and Brian Hoyer the bengals undoubtedly tried to deal Andy Dalton in the days and weeks leading up to the drafting into draft weekend but their hand was overplayed. They didn't really have much. Leverage in trade negotiations probably would not net much. If anything this year maybe something next year but felt the value was not there and orw potentially need to take on some of that salary cap space or salary of Andy Dalton before unloading him to another team in the in. The bengals did not want to do that so I think Andy Dalton Politely said let me let me go and try and find a place for that that I can get you as soon as possible and one that I get to pick my situation as opposed to maybe being forced in a trade so Dalton is now a free agent here are a couple of possible destinations k. We talked about Jacksonville. They have Garner men's shoe there. Jay Gruden is the offensive coordinator there so potentially that's a fit. You've got a one. Would maybe think I mean Dallas could be a spot. There's some talking heads. Apparently I have a friend in the in the Texas the state of Texas kind of in the Dallas area and some of the talking heads on radio. We're talking about Andy Dalton. Being a choice for the for the cowboys interesting is. Chicago still an option. Even though they grabbed nick foles and his gigantic salary from Jacksonville this off season bill lasers air laser worked with Dalton. Maybe I mentioned New England. New England still has question marks quarterback which is something you haven't been able to say since before drew bledsoe was there so that's a possibility I guess. What about a team like Pittsburgh? I threw this out on on twitter. What about team Pittsburgh? That'S NOT CLICK. Bait. I'm not trying to create. Click Bait by saying that but Ben Rothlisberger in sixteen. Previous seasons has played a full sixteen game season four times in sixteen years. He's the starting quarterback there is no doubt but he's coming off of a significant injury. He gets injured pretty often in the regular season. Pittsburgh's not they publicly are backing Mason. Rudolph but he was benched when he was relieving Rothlisburger last year. Maybe don doesn't go in there as the starter day wine but he is pressed into some action and winds potential opportunities to win Important Games for the steelers in relief of Rothlisburger or if he if Rothlisberger has a setback in. He can't start the season. Maybe Dalton is an avenue for them. There was talk. I had another friend in the Houston area talk about Houston potentially being interested in Andy Dalton around draft time who knows maybe Carolina just to get more insurance. If Teddy Bridgewater falters and door. They didn't the new regime doesn't like Kyle Alan Buffalo Oakland. These could be possibilities. The issue is is going to one of these places and being dead set starter. Really only one or two of those provide that opportunity some would be as emergency starter or in a major scrum to get playing time and it's an unfortunate reality. Andy Dalton has to face and and a lot of veteran quarterbacks have to face in the NFL that have had a lot of ups and some downs in their career. Joe FLACCO currently facing that. That guy won a super bowl. He can't find a job Cam. Newton went to a super bowl. Mvp number one overall pick can't find a job there. There's I said Oakland I'm sorry force of habit. Maas Vegas my apologies there. There are a number of avenues that that Dalton could see care but I think unfortunately you're going to he. He may not get the pick of the litter choice here that he's he's wanting just because of the deep free agency. Classic quarterback and a lack of opportunities there if you noticed in the draft. There was a long long. Wait beyond the first round quarterbacks for for some of these guys eason from long waits. Some people were talking. Those guys would be second round. Picks maybe third round picks and wait till middle of day middle late of day three to get off the board because many teams have now solidified their quarterback position whether it's the draft for free agency in a number of different ways unfortunately for the bengals unfortunately for Andy Dalton the way that this offseason fell at the quarterback position. The bengals didn't have a lot of leverage in terms of trade. Here we thought he would. We thought they would but maybe not. There's a lot of people saying he'll be icy John Seager in the live facebook chat. He'll be working by Monday. We receive some texts on our orange black insider. Text Line saying he's probably going to be employed by next week and Blah Blah Blah. Yeah probably could be. He could find a good situation and that's great for him. That's great for him and I I wish him the best but it could be. It could be the team's pounds quick because now they can. They have a lesser salary cap number to work with and set and contract work with. He can kind of pick his own destination and teams. Maybe didn't want to give up the draft capital this year to the Bengals so now that they don't have to get that give that up. Maybe more teams will be calling for Andy Dalton services if they weren't calling already for them one silver lining in terms of a capital gain. If you want to call that caught that for the Cincinnati bengals is in the innate potential compensatory pick. The bengals didn't have any of those this year. It's possible that the fanny don't go somewhere is productive. You know maybe they get something out of that Who knows that? Formula Truly works out He was a cut guy. So that may not come to fruition for them but who knows what we do know is a job row is the guy in Cincinnati and what we do know is that Andy Dalton is now a current current free agent in will potentially land with another team. Probably Pretty soon. It just depends on if he's going to be a starter.

"Fdic some really smart conversation there on Dak Prescott with will Cain McCain and I actually agreed on a bunch of things so at the very least that is reason enough to go. Check out the PODCAST. We'll Kane on the same page. I'm taking your take and you guys want to. Chime in on Andy Dalton. So we're going to blow up the rest of the show and let you do that. Where's Andy Dalton? Going to end up and why triple eight say. Espn eight seven nine. Three seven seven six chance in Arizona. What are you got? What's your take on Andy Dong Eh just wanted to say I'm a big fan of the show first off Thanks I believe he's GonNa go to Carolina because they I mean will greer at his stint last year and he was just not very good. So I think with bridgewater being the The starter have a veteran presence behind him because he has been kinda injury prone so I think that's a good fit for them now. I don't disagree with anything on that date. Look there's a lot of good fits. Brandy Andy Dalton. The question is where can you learn a little bit like? We've all talked about Jameis Winston but most importantly to me for Andy Dalton Working Rehab his his entire image at this point David Arizona. What's your Andy Dalton? Take Hey Jason how you doing today. Man I WANNA say originally. I'm from Cincinnati Ohio Big Fan of the bank. Of course being from there First thing I wanted to ask forget that nonsense about Andy Go. The steelers and speaking for all bengals fans like previous caller had said before about him gone steelers. We will be all but heard that ever happened. So I don't even want to hear that. Talk about that In regards to anti leaving Cincinnati. I'm not sure he's going to go exactly. But I do WANNA say man. That guy is a stolid consistent player. Not only been car solid consistent player for the city. He's been a great representative. He started foundation a number of charitable organizations and wherever he's going go they're going to get a classy dude and we'll we'll be a great loss for the city of Cincinnati and a great representative city where he wherever he went up. Well you know. That's all a glowing part of Andy Dalton right and thanks for your take on it and unfortunately for you guys I feel like the steelers make a lot of sense so this might be one of those moments that the Bengals fan base doesn't have a lot of choice on bill in Georgia. What do you got your your. Take on Andy. Hey Jason just WANNA say Big Fan appreciate you taking five but I feel like the DOT would be agreed set for the Cleveland. Browns think There's too much town team not to have a solid back In case Baker Mayfield. Another Mike did last season. The browns are an interesting take on it. I hadn't thought of it. Thanks for your take on it. Just because you're right I mean I keep saying I think the browns have more talent than we give them credit for. So you know. I'm not sure though. The quarterback position and Baker Mayfield should at least in theory be more locked up than it is for Pittsburgh so I still think I like going to the steelers. There's a backup better than going to the browns back of Alex in Texas. What do you got? What's your take on Andy? Jason All these guys. The spillers Brown's the dolphins. This doesn't make sense man. I'm here in Dallas Fort Worth. I'm in Grapevine. Texas the best situation for the cowboys would be the bringing Abbey. He's not you've got. He's a local guy. You'll get a lot of shining a lot of love and you need to push Dak Prescott to the table. You need to let him know that the bachelor that's here now who we would therefore it in it's going to be upgraded and now you need to come to the table with the deal. We want you to have your Andy Dalton. You're in area again where you came from. Tc You you know you're GonNa get love and you might a real opportunity of that. I I hold out and people won't be pushing back on you like in these other markets. Everybody's bringing up so that's press out of your table by any coming into the fold and upgrade. Its backup position. I see a win win there for both parties involved other than that. Prescott as a third party. His worst he made out of his own offense. Look I love the fire on that take? I'll say this. I never thought about the hold on his opportunity. And if we do believe there's GonNa be a hold out. It's a good opportunity for Andy Dalton to get out and show what he can do with as I said earlier a roster I think is super bowl caliber so you got a lot of weapons on the offensive side of the ball for or Cam Newton. We'll see this again cam. Newton's a better quarterback than Andy Dalton. We all know that and I understand that Andy Dalton might not be a world beater too many people. But let's acknowledge the good of Andy Dalton when you're talking about five playoff appearances for the Cincinnati Bengals. Keep in mind. Philip rivers only took the chargers to the playoffs six times. Andy Dalton took the Bengals to the playoffs. Five I'm not saying Andy. Dalton is a world beater. But when you take the Bengals to five playoff appearances and you make three pro bowls. You're not the trash quarterback that everyone's making him sound like he is right now. Let's accept the fact that some quarterbacks in the middle of the pack might not be great they might not be Patrick Mahomes. They might not be Aaron Rodgers. But they're still good enough to win you games. That's Andy Dalton. Don't let the bengals portion of Andy Dalton. Jj on who? He is as quarterback. More coming up what what's next for. Andy Dalton will cain. They'll be talking about it. Thanks for listening to I. Take Your take. I'm Jason Fitz..

"By Jalen and Jacoby immediately following the broadcast presented by state farm in. At and T. available wherever you enjoy your podcast. You don't WanNa miss that. They do a great job of getting updated on. I want your take. Where's Andy Dalton? Headed and why. Let's go to Johnny in Ohio. Johnny what's your take on the next. Stop for Andy. I'd say it goes to Jacksonville. They got a J office coordinator formerly of Cincinnati and I think he's got a shot. That gun instances starting to look I. That's actually a smart Jay Gruden of anybody that doesn't always with Andy Dalton and Cincinnati and now Jay Gruden is the offense coordinator in Jacksonville. You guys can chime in triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six if Jacksonville makes no attempt to Dan Dalton and they are sending us a clear message and that clear messages that they are ready to tank for trevor. Trevor Lawrence is likely to be the first pick overall in the draft next year. Barring anything catastrophic like we saw this year. God forbid right. Trevor Lawrence is likely to be the first pick out of Clemson. Here's somebody that frankly would have been. The top quarterback picked the last couple of years if he had the ability to come out. People have been infatuated. Trevor Lords. If the JAGS make no attempt. Andy Dalton or Cam Newton if they go in with an uncontested Gardner Menchu as their starting quarterback. What are they telling you? They're telling you flat out that they are ready to tank. They're ready to stink and they're ready to take whatever comes with it. You know you have to look at it from the standpoint. What did they have to lose from taking? I mean the fan base is already irritated at best with the team right. So if you know that you're going to get very little equity outside of the sort of commercial small that you get from minhsiu mania outside of that. What would really make the jags relevant? What would really make the jags relevant not just in Jacksonville but also in London when they play over there. I don't know how about having the topic in the draft superstar quarterback coming out of the gates the type of quarterback that you can sell season tickets for the message that the JAGS are sending if Andy Dalton has not at least reached out to then the. Jags are telling you quite clearly that they're really ready to phone it in and that tells me. Janaka who's been vocal about wanting to trade. We'll finally get it and the JAGS will go all in one mission. Losing Games as often as possible. I want more your take. What's next for Andy Dalton Philly? Sorry Mike in Florida Mike. What do you got for Andy Dong? Hey Big Fan of the show by the way thanks. I think I think he's going to the steelers. I think that with Rothlisberger. Getting hurt as much as he does I think Dalton would be a nice backup spot on the steelers fan myself. And I really don't believe in Rudolph and I don't believe in in Hajjah. I think that Rothlisberger can stay. Healthy is a really dynamic quarterback but as a backup spot. I think it's not a bad choice. Look at everything you just said makes a of sense. It's flat out irresponsible for the Pittsburgh steelers to go into this season at quarterback with only big Ben in the options they had last year. I will say it again. The steelers almost made the playoffs with hot garbage at quarterback. Right we all accept that. The steelers had terrible quarterback play and they almost made the playoffs. When you start to think about almost making the playoffs with the quarterbacks they had and then an expanded playoff world they would have been the seven seat there are. There's an extra team this year. This dealers have a legit chance of being a playoff team and it all hinges on a surgically repaired Ben Rothlisberger that. We haven't gotten to see anything from you. I mean how could they possibly I mart organization not consider the future quarterback or at least protecting themselves protection? How much would Andy Dalton cost? Whatever it is. It's worth it because we know that those contracts aren't high and we know that. Andy Dalton will get the opportunity to sit in Pittsburgh. If he's not starting who cares he's not going to get faulted for because frankly he won't get fault divorce sitting behind. Ben Nobody would fault them for that but if he does start if he gets them opportunity he'd have tremendous weapons around that has value to me. The weapons around him would give him the opportunity to show people that he can still play. I want more your take on. Andy Dalton triple eight say ESPN eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven six plus. We'll Jameis Winston get another chance to be a starting quarterback in the NFL..

"I'm willing to listen to you in the meantime. He's not the only quarterback in the news as the chatter continues around Aaron Rodgers. Brett Farr talked about Aaron Rodgers when he went on the rich. Eisen show on Sirius. Xm and made it clear that he doesn't believe Rogers is going to be finishing his career in Green Bay. I think you'll see that trend more and more and I think you're and finished somewhere else. That's my gut. I guarantee you this and I. I don't know for certain but I guarantee you. It's got the wheels turning and errands mind. Which if that's the case. Then that means the. There's a chip on his shoulder for the organization that otherwise was not there. I love all of that. By the way guarantee. Can't say for certain but I guarantee you and yeah. There's a chip. There's a chip on his shoulder. The question is what's it mean moving forward and at this point given the statements by Brett Farve. No one would know better what it's like to have this happens. Steven A. Ryan Clark. Imacs talked about farve weighing in on Aaron Rodgers. I don't think sticking up for farther your is going against Rogers I think far as through experience better insight into this situation is more interesting to hear from than anyone else in the world who understand this better and I think he's also right. I don't think Aaron Rodgers is going to finish his career and a Green Bay uniform just as far didn't hey one hundred percent Ed Hale Brett. Farr is the person you call for this. They should have been Reagan. His phone wind degree. Bay Packer Jordan. Look it didn't matter what they did for the rest of the draft. This is it. This is the story. It was the same story. When Aaron Rodgers failed to the Green Bay packers after Alex Smith when number one overall to the San Francisco Forty niners? And you don't have to ask dude about a situation because he did it right. It's almost better to ask him because he did it wrong. Or because it was perceived as wrong. I want to hear that you that you were upset. I want to hear that it caused confusion between you and the GM between you and the head coach and fear he's GonNa figure his career somewhere else. It also seems like they've had some conversation so Brett Farve is the perfect guy and I don't care if you don't bring up what he did in the past because it really does it matter now. What matters is you were in this position? You have an in helmet and first hand perspective of how you felt during this time how you handle it you also know the dude very well who is going through it now. So who else would you ask? I mean the reason that we get former players to be analyst reason. Analysts is because y'all WanNa hear what it was like in the Locker Room. You want to hear what it was like on the field. What are these experiences? And how do these experiences affect now? Who Do they make you? How did you deal with them? Brett farve could tell us about that more than anybody and did he stink when he was going through it absolutely was the little overrated when he left absolutely which Aaron Rodgers probably will be too but he can give us a perspective on this that we can't get anywhere else issue. It's just always good to have hall of Famers Talk Any Dang Ryan Clark. I'm GONNA forgive you because you were an elite football player. Who as far as I'm concerned pets turned into an elite? Nfl commentator. I don't ever recall the word journalists being on your resume that would be me Sir so let me inform you about something. We did talking talking talking about reform. Let's let's let's understand. Let's understand that and I'm aiming this to at you as well. Max I never said. Don't talk to Brett Farve. Let's let's let's address the question that was presented problem with. Fav Win in Yes. I'm not saying that I don't want to hear what Brett Farve has to say. I'm saying that while you're asking Brett Farve to weigh in on this particular situation. Let's remind the world. He's he's the perfect. That's what I'm saying. What I'm saying. You aren't clock is. Let's not just ask him questions about or Aaron Ross and the Green Bay packers because he was in that position any place for that same team. Let's also make sure we bring the relevancy to the equation because literally the reason why this story is because we're all monitoring how is Aaron Rodgers going to act because the Green Bay packers drafted its successor when Nebraska has got to three years left in this career? You didn't get him any help. You drafted him in two thousand five. You have never drafted another off. That's a play a running back and tight end and wide receiver in the first round since two thousand five when you're drafted and Rogers Soy. He how is he going to react all of it? Well Brett fog with no because just as what? Brett fog did that's what I'm saying. Agreed Banks steps off with and this is what he did when he was in that position. It's important to take being radio. Espn news I'm Jason Fitz. They're fired up about all things. Aaron Rodgers we're fired up here about all things. Andy Dalton. I might be the only show that can say that in the history of radio. So we're GONNA go with triple eight eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six. What's your your take on. Andy Dalton. Where's it going to end up in? Why Patrick in California? What's your take on Dalton? Yeah I think Tennessee might be a good landing spot for him. But I mean in general the fact that Cam Newton is on the free market. Also I think helps Andy. Because there's a number of teams out there. They want upgraded the quarterback position but might not want to spend Cam Newton kind of money. And I think we're all agreed that Cam Newton's better quarterback than any don't so you can get Andy Dalton for less money and I think that is an advantage damn and getting signed by somebody. I'll take your take on that. I think this is the one pushback is I. Don't think it's going to be looking at anything. I disagreed with Mike. Golic senior this morning by the way I'm hanging out on Golic and Wingo again tomorrow morning so be sure to check it out but I disagreed with my golick this morning I think is GonNa take a backup opportunity. I don't know that Andy Dalton other than New England would have much chance for anything other than backup opportunity at least short-term came. I don't think he's touching the backup situation so I wonder if the two are kind of living in different lanes right now. Jonathan Colorado. What are you got? What's your take on it? Hey Man I'm a huge dolphins fan so I'm super happy that we got to but since he's hurt I feel like that would be a perfect spot for all the land. He'll be there for a year and get a free agency stock And then he'll you have a really big opportunity to go anywhere you want after that. Look I I love that. Frankly Jonathan on top of my the dolphins. I'll look it up. But we all know. Obviously that Ryan Fitzpatrick is there. And they're comfortable with Ryan Fitzpatrick but let's not get twisted. Andy Dalton is a significant upgrade over Ryan Fitzpatrick. I don't think that's a hot. Take any Dalton's a significant upgrade in my mind over Jarrett Stidham and we all know that. That's where the Patriots seemed to be in at this point. They seem to be locked into jeered stabbed him but in a world where we just saw James Winston. Take a million dollars to get to a situation. He likes we've no idea with Andy. Dalton IS GONNA WANT. But if he wants to go somewhere where you can have a starting opportunity holding down the Fort for Miami while to gets healthy. If he's not completely healthy is not the worst situation for him. I think he can look at that as a good spot for him to land. We'll keep taking your take on her. Triple eight say. Espn eight eight eight seven nine. Three seven seven six. Andy Dalton hit the open market. I'm fired up about it again. I'll say this loud. I'm not saying that. Andy Dalton is an epic quarterback. I'm saying that. He's a pretty good quarterback and being a pretty good quarterback is better than many teams have. So well understand. He's likely to find himself in a backup situation. I don't think it's out of the question to look at some of these quarterbacks around the League in Question. Y If you're Jacksonville you're not bringing in somebody like Andy Dalton to compete with Gardner means you out of gate. Are you really willing to give everything over to Gartner Mint you? I mean you're not even gonNA look at Andy Dalton if I'm the Broncos and I've spent all of this capital in the draft on getting great weapons around drew lock. Is it not worth at least exploring who? Andy Dalton is a quarterback to me it is. I want your take on triple eight say. Espn you can also tweet me at Jason Fitz coming up if the NBA returns to finish their season. Which team benefits the most for the lengthy hiatus? You'll hear I thought next I take your take on. Espn RADIO AND ESPN news. I take your take on. Espn radio the ESPN APP. Siriusxm channel eighty and ESPN news. I'm Jason Fitz. If you missed the first hour today show I got fired up. I'm still fired up. I can't I'm saying this things. I never thought I'd say on radio fired up about Andy you can go..

"End up and why I can guarantee you one thing I can guarantee you one thing over the course of the last ten hours. Nobody has been more fired up about Andy Dalton than I was to start the show. Good Lord okay fired up about it I want your take on. What's going to happen next for Andy Dalton Jesse in Cincinnati Jesse chime in Andy? Dalton what's your take. Oh Yeah so. I think he'd be a good New England just for the system that they like to run But you can't expect too much out. Andy Dalton let's everything's perfect around him ever since you know we lost Jones's to new and I it hasn't been the same and the defense is fell off and obviously the franchise doesn't help them signing any three agents. I go anywhere with. Let me let me stick with me. Don't go away but let me counter that argument. You just mentioned the offensive line's bad. There's no weapons to tide them. Fell off so what quarterbacks outside of the top. Let's say six quarterbacks in the NFL quarterback do you think could come in and suddenly elevate what Andy Dalton was playing with and make them a playoff team? So you bring in cam new. I mean there's somebody in create on their own. What is down there Carolina well and look. I wouldn't be opposed to the bengals bringing in somebody like Cam Newton fine but my bigger point to this is everything that's been laid out right then and thanks for your take on everything you just laid out about. The bengals is part of the reason that most quarterbacks couldn't win in Cincinnati There are a handful of quarterbacks that can overcome whatever's around them and win no matter the system and no matter the weapons. There are a handful. Guess what if your litmus test for your quarterbacks ability ranks amongst the Patrick mahomes in Aaron Rodgers. You are probably losing that battle constantly. Most teams don't have that at quarterback in fact most teams are hopeful to get Ryan Tannehill. Somebody that can go and get the job done but still has to be in the right situation. The right elements be around them and when that happens suddenly Tannahill goes from being a bust in Miami to being some huge success in getting paid in Tennessee. Why because the system was better for him because he got healthy and because he had the right pieces around him. Most quarterbacks need help and a quarterback needing help doesn't mean that they stink. It just means that they're not one of the best five in the league. That's okay don't forget tune into the last dance behind the scenes. Look at the nineties bowls dynasty the series continues this Sunday nine pm Eastern on. Espn can't wait for this. When we'RE GONNA get a look behind the curtain of Horace Grant always curious about how that went down..

"Straighttalk DOT com. So the question is who is Andy? Dalton at this point and at this point is a better solution for any team including the Patriots. Then I don't know one Cam Newton Ryan Clark joined Maxim Stephen Age. They're talking about Andy Dalton and where he fits in the spectrum of quarterbacks available on the open market there is nobody that has ever watched football that has seen Cam Newton healthy and thought that Andy Dalton was a better quarterback Cam Newton. We can point to system all we want the Patriot way. Jarrett's them and what have you. And the fact that he was there for a year under their belt and all that stuff Ryan Clock. You brought this up on. Get up this morning You know the few minutes that I had an opportunity to watch it. When you highlighted how Jarret stidham comes in and he throws a pick six to Jamal Adams of the New York jets and then immediately got yanked out of there by Bill Belichick but Josh. Mcdaniels confident to them. They think he's improve well. None of those are game situations because we haven't seen them throw the ball but about four times on a professional level of so i. I'm not sold on stem yet. Obviously if you WanNa go to route of Dalton it would be because he fits more into the Patriot way. But here's my thing. How do we know really? There's a Patriot. Way when it comes to their offense when you look at. Tom Brady and how elite we gotta make a decision as to whether or not he was great. Oil was he. Not because of Tom Brady was great. Maybe maybe this success was a product of his greatness on the offensive side of the ball along with its chemistry. Whether it be Charlie Charlie Weis once upon a time bill. O'brien once upon a time Josh. Mcdaniels for the last decade or so the bottom line is there's been a multitude of people that Tom Brady has worked with on the offensive side of the ball. And he's been and he's been obviously elite. I think if you're looking at it from that perspective who has the chance of being leaked? I say it would be Cam Newton over Andy Dalton. And Jared my choices Cam Newton as well because I believe if you bring ending dotes in in at this time in his career. He might not necessarily be that much of an upgrade over. Jarrett Stidham and Brian. Hoyer who you already have your quarterback room but if you ring in Cam Newton you bring in something different you bring in a guy who can create own his own and that's what you need it on this team last year. You didn't have the wide receivers who couldn't create separation initially in their routes. What Will Cam Newton give them an opportunity to do? Get into second play situation where they can get into scrammed boudreau separate from other defenders and also now this edge to your run game when you have a guy like James White when you have a guy like Sony Michelle you add them with Cam Newton. Now you can get into some zone. Read type schemes. Because you don't necessarily have the talent on the outside. No if you think Jarrett Stidham is your guy and that's who you WANNA go with. I believe you could stand there. But if you're going to go out on the free agent market and get you a quarterback that guy has to be Cam Newton. You have to add something dynamic to this offense you have to have someone with the confidence to carry you and also remember. The next guy is replacing. The greatest quarterback of all time and Tom Brady that will be immense pressure pressure. That Cam Newton his head to live up to his whole entire career. He's the guy for this job. I believe that he can handle the coaching. Also think he has something to prove. And when you mix that with what the Patriots do already which is going to be played. Great Defense be coached extremely well and be extremely disciplined. It only helps Cam Newton and have Cam Newton would only is that I do think is deficient island players. And so if you could do those things combined those that makes sense to me. I think that Cam Newton is going to make a lot of people. Sorry that they didn't sign him up sooner. Cam Newton when last seen was as good or better than he'd ever been. He was once as I said selected by acclamation. He was the number one player in football. So I do think that there's left as long as the injury is not a recurring issue. There's going to be plenty there still. Relatively young people talk about the beating. He's taken. That's true but that'll shorten the shelf life to thirty five thirty six. Probably not some forty. Which is how quarterback split until quarterbacks played thirty eight forty nowadays to like thirty one. Thirty two okay. Fine write you make a good point if you're going to go out looking anyway. How do we know Dalton's even an upgrade overstep? We don't maybe they're happy with stuff. Look at either one but when you look at what can and can't do he's not GonNa get you. Big Chunk plays off of play action right like that was the issue in Cincinnati but that's not really the Patriots but what he can do is make quick reads. Get the ball out quick. On Intermediate passes that is the Patriots so unless bellichik really goes completely new way with the way. He wants to run his office which is amazing. Kind of chameleon. Act that toward the end of his career. Belgium's coaching career. Unless he does that. Adult and much more fits the type that the Patriots seem to prefer. I take your take on ESPN news. I'm Jason Fitz. I don't understand what is going wrong with the entire world when we look at. Andy Dalton. I mean I understand Andy. Dalton is not a spectacular quarterback. I understand he's not a world beater but we're looking at New England and we're giving Bill Belichick all of the credit for everything that's ever happened. That's good. They're suddenly with the benefit of the doubt he gets. And then we're turning around and conversely blaming Andy Dalton for everything that's gone wrong in Cincinnati. Let me remind you he leaves. The bengals is the all time leader in passing touchdown. Second in passing yards most fourth quarter comebacks and game. Winning drives three proble knots. Three pro bowl nod for a bengals quarterback any doug him out of the dumpster. Five playoff appearances. That's all from field. Yates five playoff appearances in three pro bowl runs for a quarterback in Cincinnati. Is something worth writing home about? I understand that Andy. Dalton's not spectacular but for Ryan Clark to imply that Brian Hoyer Jarret stidham would be a better quarterback room than Andy Dalton. That makes no sense. Jarret Stidham is a fourth round quarterback if anybody if anybody so that level of production coming from Jarrett Stidham he never makes it to the fourth round. Because you don't let a three time pro bowl quarterback dipped to the fourth round. That's insane Brian. Hoyer couldn't beat out Andy Dalton on the open market for a starting job it. Brian Hoyer was your quarterback room with jared Steinem on any team not named New England. We would surely believe that. Andy Dalton was a better quarterback option. I'm not saying that. We have to turn around and acknowledge the Andy Dalton Dalton his greatness in a bottle but to suddenly turn around and act like he's a liability versus unknown or known quarterbacks. That aren't any good is absolutely insulting. To what Andy Dalton has accomplished. It's okay to say that he's not great but let's not make him trash. I take your take on ESPN radio. I'm Jason Fitz fired up about that. Presented by progressive is home insurance. Get your quote Ed. Progressive Dot Com. Today you guys can chime in. Where do you think Andy Dalton is going to end up triple eight say? Espn eight nine. Three seven seven six. Let's get a little insight on this from Cincinnati Moa my buddy from ESPN fifteen thirty joins me. Mo. You just heard me going off about it. Who is Andy Dalton in your mind to most? Nfl Franchises as a quarterback right now. I love the impassioned Defensive Andy Dalton where where you've been for the past nine years I know I'm watching. Go ahead I was GONNA say I. I think it's I think that's the interesting part of this. We've we've known I've said a couple of times today. We've known this was coming for about a year. I mean if you if you kind of watch. The way off season played out before last season. You know Andy went into the second. The last year of his contract when the subject was brought up of a contract extension the owner of the team. Mike Brown said he has to reestablish himself which okay I get that I don't disagree but if he's got to reestablish himself you gotta give them a chance and the bengals didn't make their team any better last off season then they lose their left tackle then they lose. Aj Green. I think at that point we kind of knew how last season was gonNA play out and then we knew what the fallout was going to be. Which was the Bengals? Go in a different direction at quarterback At the beginning of this off season I think you could also see how this was going to end because we were on the verge of this unprecedented amount of quarterback activity involving guys who are either better than Andy. Dalton have more upside than Andy Dalton are cheaper than Andy Dalton or that you could acquire without having to trade for Andy Dalton so the emotional emotionally jarring part of this. You know this this would have been. I think a little bit different. Had this been sudden. We've we've kind of seen this coming for a while. So what's the next best opera? Andy you know. A lot of people have talked about New England and I I certainly get. Why Andy as a safe pick At the same time for me the Patriots have always been a team. Were they wager on talent? They wager on upside. They're willing to set aside any red flags you know. This is the team that will take a chance on Antonio Brown. It'll take a chance on Josh Gordon team. That will bring somebody heck. We've we've seen it with guys here in Cincinnati that you're like okay. How was Corey Dillon? Or Chad Johnson going to affect that locker room and it turns out that you know in some cases like Corey Dillon. It works out great. Some cases like Chad Johnson. It doesn't screw up their locker room but it really doesn't work out all that well with Andy. You know what you're getting. You're not getting that much. And frankly they really have an address their biggest issue in New England which is guys to throw to so if he goes to New England. We kind of know what that looks like right. He's going to be fine. He's not gonNA be Great. Their talents not great. His talents not great. So there's a part of me that wonders doesn't just make more sense to Kinda gamble with the unknown because maybe with the unknown. There's a little bit more upside but if it's not New England you know. Does he get a shot in Jacksonville? I've sort of thrown out there that it might make sense. If I'm a Pittsburgh steeler fan. What better way to stick it to the Bengals then Dalton backs up. Ben Rothlisberger are we. Are we betting on him? Playing Sixteen Games is Dalton. A better option to back him up and Rudolph or duck. Hodges or anybody else they have. I tend to think that Andy's going to surface somewhere as a backup. But the New England thing until you figure out exactly what their quarterback plan is. I guess has to be something that we all consider and talk about. We're talking to Mo Egger..

"Dollar has more trade value but but what i'm saying is if dalton had been drafted by the niners or the rams or the cardinals or another team do you think they would have stuck with what andy dalton is from two thousand eleven until now i just think the reason this list is what it is that's most teams have actively drafted and looked for replacement starters and we have we have five new quarterbacks coming in now that can make this list completely different a year or two from now we're andy dalton could wind up twenty seven twenty eight twenty nine thirty difference to me is that the bengals see andy dalton as a guy if they surround him with the right talent he he's the guy and i don't think that i think that chiefs once thought that about alex smith but they got to a point where they didn't think that anymore and you know just like alex smith was an mvp candidate last year we're only years removed from that two thousand fifteen season which andy dalton played magically and i think the bengals i don't blame them for thinking hey if we can surround him he can get back to that that again focusing on those names that we have below andy dalton it is interesting that as i mentioned the dolphins the giants and the jaguars are the three teams that are sitting tight with their quarterback that we see below dalton and they got a lot of criticism for it so they're kind of banking on the idea that these these are guys that can and will be better than they were last season or adults case get or intense case get back to where he was before his injury oh the tanna hell he's been right next to dalton every year that we do this yes we thought about calling at the tanna scale which i like this out back in twenty fifteen and he hasn't really moved to far upper down i think at some point i bet i bet i had them at least personally above andy dalton oh yeah but now he's below it sure seemed like the dolphins liked baker mayfield a lot and i think in a different world mayfield had slipped down out of that top world of draft picks maybe the dolphins would have done.

"Wondering whether they have a franchise quarterback wondering whether they have an answer or not sometimes you feel like he is the answer sometimes you don't when he's surrounded by great talent he's a franchise quarterback when he has to carry the load he's not a franchise quarterback so any dalton is the primary deion of starting quarterbacks in the nfl the line below which you need a franchise quarterback and above which you are set at the sport's most important sition there you go and what we have done each of the past three or four years now we've had a conversation right around this time of year to say is andy dalton still the man at the dalton line and last year we came to the conclusion that yes andy was still there the year before that which was coming off season which dalton was a stud we all settled on as a group alex smith was the new dot line before that when it started it was andy dalton obviously to start so now we spend forward to two thousand eighteen dull and is coming off a tough year a tough year for cincinnati a tough year for andy dalton so i don't imagine the conversations going to be had that he will he is well above where this line would be then the conversation can become greg is andy dalton below the dalton line which it gets complicated but i think i understand this exercise by now that can happen famously struggled early with the the kat early the line could move up and down it's really just about whether you found your franchise quarterback or not and that andy dalton is always gonna be that line whether the line moves up or down and i think what's been proven is the wisdom and genius of this creation by chris wesseling because i feel five years in andy dalton has never been more of the prime meridian in the nfl for quarterbacks than he is right now he is the perfect.
