My wife does not take drugs or by the way, the only thing she had taken her earlier that they were to etcetera. And then the other thing that has to happen, Uh, chief of police, Garcia. Dallas Names Eddie Garcia as New Police Chief

"Joining us now on the line is the president of the Dallas Police Officers Association. Mike Madi is a friend of the show. We've talked to him. Numerous times about Dallas police issues and today we want to talk to him about the fact that Dallas has finally picked a new chief San Jose Former police chief Eddie Garcia. So, Mike, First of all Merry Christmas, thanks for joining us today. Merry Christmas, Scott. All right? Yeah, thanks for coming on. Let's let's start right with this, Or are you happy with the higher or officers happy with this choice? Well, I think we're looking at this choice is a person who is well qualified. You know, I think it's no great secret that the rake vile wanted somebody from the inside. But if if T c was going to pick an outsider, he definitely pick somebody who was definitely had the resin. Main was well qualified. Well prepared for this job. What about his resume? Specifically, Has you guys excited? Well, I think he's done his brought his department through a lot of what Dallas is battling and has had to fight through. Hey, brought a department through. Um, you know, a pension issue a morale issue. Haven't attrition issued at a hiring problem they had, you know, embracement of the community issues and he was able to bring this department through that, you know, so he's had to make those hard decisions. They have the same issues with protests and rights. In San Jose, you know, being the 10th largest city in Dallas being the night so it's a comparable, very comparable population, and he did it with a third of the size of the department. So you know, obviously he has experienced making those hard decisions and that this isn't needed. To make an effective and efficient police department. And we're hoping he can bring that here. That sounds like all the things you just listed the morale. The protests and stuff like the hiring are all issues that Dallas has faced. No. We've talked about several times over the last couple years of those things you listed. I mean, what would you put as number one will get to crime and violent crime here a little bit, But of those things, I mean, what's the number? One thing officers are looking at. In terms of please help us with this. Well, I think he has to come in, and he has to one get the support of the rank and file and that's where chief always lacking. You know, she was unable. She was never able to really see eye to eye with Reagan file and get them to buy into her crime fighting initiatives. Because I don't think the rank and file really knew what it wa so we never had an idea of exactly or it's never communicated to the rank and file. What exactly are we doing? How we fighting this? What do you need from us? And not only that? Are you going to support us when we do that, and so you know, and listening to Chief Garcia and what he was saying in his interviews. Talking torto officers that have worked underneath him over there in San Jose. They also the same thing. This is a guy that when you're right, he is gonna fight for you. And when the department's wrong he's gonna own up to it. So I think that's what was lacking are last year's here in the city of Dallas. I think the community felt like they weren't heard on DSA. Oh, I think we're getting somebody with Garcia, who has a great story. You gotta remember. He came over here as an immigrant didn't even speak the language. Um, went, came up the ranks through San Jose, uh, from every from patrol officer to sergeant. The lieutenant on he was an operational command. And so he's again. He's had to make those hard decisions and he's had to get troops to follow him. That's what he's going to have to do here. Yeah, the first Latin chief in the history of Dallas Police Department, 41% Latino population or Hispanic population in

"Text line trivia. But we are talking about Halloween decorations or to know whether your craziest Display's You've seen some people go to great lengths. To do their Halloween decorations, and sometimes they might be a little too realistic. It's where both of these both of these stories come from Texas because everything as we know is bigger in Texas, even their Halloween decorations. The Dallas Police Department has issued a request to residents stop calling us to report dead bodies strewn around the front yard of the local home. Because the bodies are the creation of a local artist. I think that's great that you have that much that much time on your hands that you can create realistic bodies. Stephen Novak is the artist name he's known for his extravagant Halloween displays. This year, he decided to take a more realistic approach. He said. I've always been upto hijinks. Who I like a guy who uses the word hijinks. That's I love hijinks. I like shenanigans. I like to I like Tio some folderol and fiddle. Dee Dee. I like all that stuff. He's done Flying ghost or 7 ft. Tall snow sculptures of himself this year he opted to do something that would really freak people out walking by in the dark, So I whipped up some dummies and slugging 20 gallons of blood all over. So people have shown up to view the gruesome displays. Some of those are the Dallas police Department. His neighbors told me cop cars in front of the house a lot during the day. I was only home twice to receive them. They told me they thought it was cool, and they were only there because you were quote to replied to complaints from a sergeant. All right. I don't know if you have anybody in your neighborhood who goes way way overboard, whether it's whether it's Halloween or Christmas, but if you're walking down the street Now I'm going to surmise that this is in some type of residential area if people are walking by Are you really Convinced that these are actual bodies laying on the grass. Does it really seem like that's that's something that would be happening? And don't you go? Oh, yeah, it's October 29th. What comes how leads in a couple days. That's probably just the dummy or do you go up? Do poke it with a stick trying to see if it's a human being or you. Just one of these nervous Nellies, who runs away immediately in Christ calls the police. That's what's happening. Now this one is better. This is the kind This is the kind of display I would put up if my wife didn't hold such sway over the House, Texas woman has come under fire by your homeowner's association for decorating her yard with quote, inappropriate Halloween decorations. What would you demon inappropriate Halloween decorations. It's gonna get pretty lewd. I'm thinking like I mean, Holly is scary, Scary. A gory is fine. But like you're going to get to the nudity realm that's like, remember, It's still your house. You're displaying these things on so All right, so inappropriate to you would be nudity. I hate to be approved that way. That's so clearly not. But, you know, I mean, like, you're not Just think, Don't think Neighborhood association would be a fan. What if it was skeleton? Nudity? Is that okay? I mean, Art Scout skeletons don't wear clothes. Exactly. Well, this woman, Angela data decorated her yard by making pole dancing skeletons. In her front yard. That's funny. It was funny because every night she goes out and changes how the position of the skeletons So that every every day you go by and see her pole dancing skeletons. They're in a different position. They're just hanging off the pole there hanging by their legs. Whatever it is, but they're skeletons and at Halloween. Well, she got a letter from her Homeowners Association, which I am not a fan of homeowners. I've lived in neighborhoods with homeowners associations, and it's basically Gladys Kravitz and every caring you could imagine cranked up to 11. Married everybody's business. I have, and I know the proponents of those homeowners association where we keep the neighborhood looking lovely, and, you know, do you really want a boat parked in your neighbor's driveway? Doesn't bother me on. I definitely want to see pole dancing skeletons when I go out. So, the homeowners association said that the skeletons, air quote offensively positioned End quote. She's been ordered to remove them, she said. It's modeled after an adult club and like I told you every night, we changed the positions of the skeletons, and it's been really just a great creative outlet for me. End quote. I think we all need a creative outlet, especially in this day and age. And you know, if your kids are walking by their nuts, they don't look like exotic dancers. They look like skeletons hanging off a pole. Well, that skeletons trying to climb away. You could explain a skeleton away because The next yard is probably gonna have a skeleton to, uh, she says. We've all been cooped up. It's just been a terrible year. We've just decided if this brings a little bit of joy and a little bit of smiles to someone that we're doing everything right. And I agree. I salute Angela Nava. And I think maybe next year Maybe next time I make some changes in the yard now. Alright, Greg, we talked about you being offended by nudity in Halloween decorations, which I completely understand after hearing this story, Do you believe that? This is an inappropriate Halloween decoration now, do it. All right. Good. There I was. Listen, I have no problem with people not wanting to expose Children to nudity or untoward things. But something like this. During Halloween when there's no You know, she if she had posed the skeletons in intimate embraces Then? Yeah, it's probably not suitable for your front yard, but they're just swinging from a pole. Go ahead, Do it. Speaking of go ahead, do it. Let's do our last. Next line trivia question, Shall we 70 of that creepy music, right? I wouldn't I wouldn't fault if you didn't do it. You're the man. You're always you're always ready. All right? Here we go. Friends. MHS water joins us looking forward to that here's what's happening. two officials who have been asked to testify in the impeachment investigation of president Donald Trump of now agreed to provide depositions. we'll keep our eyes on that story of course following a whistle blower complaint last week the Democrats are looking into president trump's request to the Ukrainian president during a July twenty fifth phone call do investigated domestic political rival former president by surprise and and Joe Biden Biden as the Democratic Front runner in the party's contest to run against the Republican president trump in the twenty twenty election. set in a defiant tone the trump administration has resisted Congress has access to impeachment witnesses even as house Democrats are warning such could be contemptible. sad story for everybody involved in this one the former Dallas police officer who argued that she had a right to use lethal force when she killed an innocent man after mistakenly entering his apartment has been convicted of murder amber Geiger faces a lengthy prison sentence after a jury found her guilty of the murder of Botham gene in Dallas on September sixth last year a verdict that genes family attorneys hailed as a significant moment in the battle the whole police accountable. tiger is the first Dallas police department officer to be convicted of murder since the nineteen seventies. they need in a packed hall way outside the courtroom in Dallas the attorney Lee Merritt told reporters the ruling was a huge victory not only for the family of Botham gene but as his mother Allison told us a moment ago he said this is a victory for black people in America. Merritt said the community should not have to wait on pins and needles for the conviction of someone who killed a man who was completely non aggressive sitting at home eating a bowl of ice cream and someone barges into his apartment and shoots him to death. the jury began deliberating on Monday afternoon and reach a verdict today while sentencing to follow. Geiger pleaded not guilty. in Texas murder usually carries a sentence of five to ninety nine years in prison but the judge Tammy campaign allowed the jury to consider convicting the lesser charge of manslaughter jurors however decided that Geiger had committed murder she very unbelievable story now joining us is Randy sudden Randy is a thirty four year law enforcement veteran twenty four years on the Los Vegas metro department one of the department's most highly decorated officers he is the author of several excellent books on the police scene and it's been on the TV show cops he was with me a couple weeks ago on the program as we talked about police related issues and suicides Randy this is a bizarre situation I mean that there's there's no question that Geiger faced something whether it's manslaughter or negligent homicide but murder what a story what's what's the depart part and folks talking about. four I have to tell you George this. the entire scenario is is tragic from every set of circumstances we have a news man who was killed. we have a police officer who committed the act of killing him. but you have to look at the hotel. the the circumstances here and. murder requires in hand. the facts of the situation or that she live in a apartment complex. all the apartments look alike she came home from a long shift. she walked in to she walked up to her apartment which well she walked up to reform which she thought was hers right he was on he knew he lived above her right on the third floor something one what apartment above her. she walked in she put her keys in saw the door was ajar. I thought it was her apartment walked in saw him. according to her gave commands to show with hands. she felt threatened she was in uniform right she was in uniform choosing the report and she shot and killed. what a horrible situation for everybody this is absolutely horrible situation. but. could you possibly believe that a Dallas police officer would do with him. walking into someone else's apartment and shoot him to death. it's it's it's a five it's a part of the matter is any any of common sense. I mean but she was not drinking she wasn't drugged out right what would possess her Randy to will walk into the wrong apartment on the wrong floor. N. think she was insane in a her own place wouldn't she looked around and go wow this is a minor I mean I've never done this before I've never walked into will wrong house surrounded parchment but if I did I'd notice immediately these are my things. well nor would it nor would die however. when you when you look at well this apartment complex apparently this is the an apartment complex we're pretty much everything looks alike she walked up to literally one. the next the next floor up. put her key in the door. the door was ajar a little bit she walked in it was hers this is according to her and and there's no reason to believe that that was not the case because otherwise what would be the intent to walk into someone else's apartment and and and and shoot them. so. the you know if you look at at all the circumstances. the reality is that she had. no no well of relationship with the with the victim here she shot him she only admitted that no I I thought that this was my apartment I thought it was being burglarized I shot a man who I thought was burglarized you my apartment now over of course she needs to be held accountable well yeah that's why I say manslaughter negligent homicide I mean she did kill this poor guy she did she absolutely she did and and and of course she she deal. she needs to be held accountable for this but murder is the is the appear to be of of an offense that requires intent and premeditation in some cases and there was no intent I'm not clear there's no tell me ask you this should bring the last question I know police officers are trained to shoot at body mass why did she like we knew him in the arm or shoot him in the knee years something like that well there you know when you walk into a situation like that. we're your adrenaline pumping you are feeling threatened and you can you fire center best because that is what you are trained to do but here here's the here's the thing. the district attorney of Dallas has been so we hear Ty law enforcement has has basically over charged in this particular case and because of the of the anti one force men now it's going around right now all of the jury instead of. taking everything into consideration saying no what we realize that that this officer killed this this man but this is the harm the negligent homicide this is not murder and add to convict her of murder is eight is is a isn't this great I'm sure there are problems with murder to charge her with murder is it reveals what the Dallas district attorney is really all about and that is about political correctness is crazy now he he realistically if you walk into your house your place Randy and somebody is in there whether they broke cam or they've stumbled in you do have a right to defend yourself don't you. course every citizen has a right to defend themselves from of someone who's breaking into their home there's no doubt that that's where this big unbelievable mistake would be ready thank you for being on the program this is an in depth store he to be sure but what a tragedy amber Geiger convicted of murder they will sentence her soon she could get any worse from five years to ninety nine years I'm sure she'll try to appeal but her contention was just that she stumbled into what she thought was her apartment it was somebody else's she was on the wrong floor he was doing nothing dangerous she was sitting there having some ice cream he got up his hands were waving he said wait a minute and she shot him to death. sad story a runner's been killed by lightning as he was about to finish a fifty kilometer race in southeast Kansas he was in the wrong place at the wrong time you PS gets an FAA nod for widespread drone deliveries additionally there will start with health care products these things are going to be flying all over the place manufacturing slipping in September that's not good let's check in with registered investment adviser Michelle black mesh eight two interesting stories George first the manufacturing I. S. M. contracted the most since June of two thousand nine production was down new orders was down employers employment down inventories down. new export orders exports amazing plunge here in new export orders if you look at some of the comments that are coming in from the manufacturers they are of course blaming the trade war I certainly sympathize with that one thing that might have been missing from the all these reports I didn't see talked about was the GM strike. yes I'm showing here George close but it's still going on it's still going on every it's been close for three weeks now is that what it is GDP estimates are plunging as a result of of this I asked him GDP now which is widely followed fell from two point one percent down to one point eight but the real bottom line is something called real final sales that's the true bottom line estimate the rest is inventories inventory adjustments go up one month down the next month the bottom line here from GDP now right now is one point six percent George that's at or near the stall point here is hard to say exactly where it is and as bad as US manufacturing locks he Europe is an even bigger disaster especially Germany. George I we've been talking about this I still think a recession is is calming the rest of the day though even housing is starting to pick up so it's it's hard to say this is your own story I think is very interesting I did not think it would happen this fast and in one of the reasons why is is for security reasons lots of drones flying everywhere might somebody read one of them for terrorist purposes so black if they approved one company huh you PS in this case how far behind Israel is on going and the sons when thinking about it missed thanks but the you're right it's gonna happen these things are going to be a all over the place artificial blood that can be used by anyone regardless of their blood type will increase the survival rate of patients it's been created by scientists in Japan Japan researchers from the national defense medical college have revealed the blood which they created in a lab the team.

Transgender woman who was attacked found dead

"A transgender woman who was attack in Dallas in a parking lot in April. She. There was cell phone footage of the camera footage of the episode made national headlines and the police investigated as a possible hate crime one month later on Sunday yesterday. The Dallas police department announced that, that same woman Malaysia Booker had been shot and killed. The police said it was has no evidence linking, the killing to the earlier attack at a news conference, major Vincent wedding, the officers found MS Booker shortly before seventy on Saturday, and that her identity was confirmed on Sunday. They'd been responding to a report of a shooting and found his Booker lying face down in the street deceased from homicide violence, as they put it major wedding added that Edward Thomas, the man who was arrested after he was filmed repeatedly punching MS Booker last month was no longer in police custody, and that there was no indication he was late to the killing. But there's no indication that he wasn't linked to the killing either. You would have to infer from that wouldn't you a last month's attack took place on April twelfth shortly after MS Booker was involved in an automobile accident. I think we talked about it in a parking lot. Of an apartment complex the video of the episode showed a man of the thirties identified as Mr Thomas punching the woman on the ground as she struggled other men in the crowd kicked, her before a group of women helped her get away, and now found dead of a gunshot wound.
