"Steve paddle zolo, our good buddy, pro football focus, senior analyst co host of pro football focus NFL podcast, good to see you again. Have you guys chopped up the Super Bowl and given out grades? Yeah, we have. Yeah, we do it live pretty much and then review it the next day. So we get the grades out there and the quarterbacks were as good as I think they looked, right? Jalen hurts and Patrick Mahomes, two of the best players on the field and the grades reflected that. Okay, who had a higher grade between those two? We had hertz with a slight edge in his overall grade. Obviously, he had the worst play with the fumble, but in mahomes didn't really make a ton of mistakes, but hertz had had more special plays, right? Some of those downfield throws, and some of his best throws were incomplete. The devonta Smith passed down the field that gets dropped, or it just ends up being complete after the review. Some nice tight window, double coverage throughout tight window throws to Dallas Goddard, another one on third down after avoiding the blitz, so Jalen hurts was awesome in that game. And I think we're going to forget it, though, because the chiefs won. But it could lead to a big contract extension because I don't know if people had questions. Do you have questions now after what you saw with Jalen hurts? If you were with the eagles, and you were going to be handing out that check to him. Would you have any issue? Giving him $45 million a year. Maybe 45, it's going to be fascinating. I would say the eagles did such a good job building their team this past off season because Jalen hurts was on that first contract. It allowed them to go get AJ Brown. It allows them to bring in a James Bradbury. They're going to lose a bunch of free agency this year. And it's going to be difficult to replace those guys because Jalen hurts is due the next big contract. So I

"Thing on this side of the ball. Whether it's creating the aforementioned stalemate a little bit on early downs or a couple times. In key spots, or it's mahomes and Reed creating it on offense by building elite. The chiefs have to be able to win enough early downs to have the luxury of being able to stop fully on lay downs. And if that happens, there's a path. In the AFC title game, we gave spags to blueprint and work perfectly, right? High rates of man coverage force borough to get to his second or third read and hope by then pressure gets gets home and it did. This week, if spags can dial up the perfect defensive formation, it's covered three zone, okay? Cover three zone allows you to play 7 in the box as well. So you can compete a little bit better against the run. It's likely sneed playing in the slot and that scenario. That's why it was so big he got cleared from his concussion, which I believe happened about 36 hours ago. He's a big body, former safety at lock tech who's a good run fit guy. Spaghetti is used his highest rate of zone coverage since becoming the chief D.C.. You want to use as much as that as possible against the eagles because they haven't faced many zone defenses this season. And you got a guy in AJ Brown who leads the NFL in yards per route run against press man. Anytime we've broken down the eagles game late in the season. We've emphasized the defense needs to play more zone. Hurt saccharine increases by more than 5% because you make them think. The paint by numbers offense that Shane steichen creates goes out the window a little bit more. Specific to cover three zones, bags can dial up lots of exotic blitz from that on second and long and third and medium. If you get them there. And sometimes Jalen hurts mobility and his athleticism, hinders him against the blitz because he always wants to beat blitz with his legs and not his arm. It's why really mobile and athletic guy like hurts is QB 27 out of 40 in passing under pressure. Very small sample as well, but in the playoffs, when the game wasn't in garbage time. So two games so far against the Giants and forty-niners. Hertz has a negative 0.22 EPA per pass attempt against zone with a 33% success rate as average and just 5.4 yards per attempt. Other reason you have to find ways to make hurts throw is his inaccuracy rate has soared since the shoulder and sternum injury. His inaccuracy rate is eclipsed 15% in three games since the injury. Just two balls. I'm going to correct you on that because the Devante Smith ball was not a guess. That's a very good point. I should come with an asterisk there. Two out of ten not three out of ten, because that was very much an incomplete pass. Yes, he completes two balls downfield since the injury. Pre injury hurts completion percentage was nearly 4% better than expectation. It's 3% below expectations since the injury. Now, again, I don't know him specifically. I haven't heard anything internally. But looking at the film, watching the spray charts like maybe the injury hinders Jalen a little more when he throws to the right. I don't know. But if you look at a spray chart since the injury, like good God, he doesn't really use the right side of the field. 23 of 77 pass attempts have been to the right side past the line of scrimmage since the injury. 43% of hertz passes since the injury are middle left within ten yards of the line of scrimmage, lots of short throws. 19 total, since the injury of traveled more than ten yards. The one area where the chiefs have been much improved defensively is against the short pass, the chiefs are top ten defending throws at her behind the line of scrimmage because of this fundamental shift that Brett veach used getting younger and faster on this side of the ball. Now again, there's a lot of variants to this part of the matchup. The chiefs can have some success defensively, but not unless they can stop the run or build the lead. And if and only if they can do that, they have to play cover three zone and blitz. It's very specific. If the chiefs elect to play press man, it's probably an AJ Brown game. If hertz continues to throw left more frequently in the chief decide to stay in too high shell, which wouldn't really be smart, but they use it at the league's highest rate. This suddenly becomes a Devante Smith game because he lines up a little bit more frequently on the left and his target share source to 29% against too high. It also becomes a Dallas Goddard game. Dallas Goddard has had his biggest games of the season abusing to high shell. So it is very much going to be predicated on which receivers show out here for the eagles. If the chiefs can stop the run, if the chiefs use the right type of zone coverage, that'll all depend on which pass catcher kind of goes ham here for the eagles in this game. One aspect of this eagles offense that I think impacts obviously both the run and the pass and you've broken down aspects of the run game that we're gonna want to monitor in the past game as well. Is of course that eagles offensive line were lane Johnson and Jason Kelsey draw a ton of headlines, but you look at this group, ranked only 12th and ESPN's pass block win rate this season. And there are some weak links on that in that particular group. Jordan my lotta the one that stands out to me when you try and figure out Kansas City's defense and it's a group that in my opinion gets undersold weekend week out for how disruptive and dominant Chris Jones can be the ongoing maturation we've seen from George Carla and Frank Clark, who looks like a shell of himself during the regular season, but dusts off those playoff accolades and raises his game when the stakes increase. How do you see those two groups matching up both in the passing attack in the ground game as far as Philadelphia's offensive line that's garnering all the headlines leading into this football game? Yeah, I mean, the chiefs have been very good getting pressure this year. But when they don't get pressure, the defense is horrific. So I don't know how you're going to be able to generate that what we did see spags do is send some sim stuff with linebackers over the center to a kind of allow Chris Jones to get one on one matchups. It hasn't happened this year because Kelsey has been out of this world fantastic. But in the past, some bigger guys have given him some trouble. I think when you're looking at the eagles offensive line to your point, they have to be elite here and some of those guys are a little bit dinged up, lane Johnson re aggravated the groin, but he's now got two weeks. He's got a battle through that. My guy landed Dickerson dealing with the hyper extended elbow. Is he a 100%? You're not getting the cleanest version of the eagles offensive line. And that does need to be an area where you absolutely dominate the chiefs because again, if you can't get the ground game just humming, it's going to be very difficult to beat the chiefs because the overarching sentiment here is I don't think the eagles defense is as good as perceived. And so the chiefs are going to hang some points here. You have to very much be able to get this ground game going. Keep mahomes off the field a little bit. And if you can't do that at a high rate or you can't keep Jalen hurts out of known passing situations, it's going to make it a little bit tougher for the eagles offense. I just don't know based upon the metrics based upon the talent based upon some of the things that spags does defensively with light boxes. I don't know if that's in the path for the chiefs to be able to stop the ground. It's so interesting. I've heard a number of people in and around the space media and otherwise talk about the way that they feel this game is going to play out, that if there's one team that blew out the other, they think Philadelphia can run away and hide, but don't see a path for Kansas City to win this game by multiple scores and it just leaves me scratching my head because if Kansas City is able to stop the run and we have questions about Philadelphia defensively, there is a path for Kansas City to find some separation as well and really force Philadelphia out of its comfort zone. An area they haven't been in or how to play catch up all that often this season.

"AP sports I'm David Schuster to NFL playoff games contested Saturday in Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes played through an ankle injury throwing a pair of touchdown passes as the chiefs down Jacksonville 27 20, Kansas City coach Andy Reid crediting his defense. I thought from the DBs to the defensive line to the linebackers, I just, again, my head goes off to the guys for that. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, the eagles overwhelmed the Giants 38 to 7 with our Michael luongo in attendance. The eagle jumped to a 14 nothing for his quarterly on touchdown passes by a jail and hurts won the Dallas Goddard. The other devonta Smith first picked up a 5 yard touchdown run with 43 seconds to go in the first half, Boston Scott had a three yard touchdown one, maybe for the second quarter for the birds who were advanced to the NSA championship game for the first time since 2017. Coming up later Sunday, it will be Cincinnati at buffalo and Dallas at San Francisco. Lots of NBA action Saturday, Boston made it 9 straight wins, one O 6 one O four over Toronto, grant Williams scoring 25 points off the bench. As a role player in this league, you have to be prepared for any of those opportunities and you have to step up when the opportunity arises. And I feel like I try my best to do that and tonight shops went down and just continue to be aggressive. Evan mobley was aggressive scoring a career high 38 points as Cleveland defeated Milwaukee one 14 one O two, mobley's coach JB bickerstaff certainly impressed. You know, it's not just a particular quarter, but it's when winning matters the most. And I think he's got that gene when winning Mars is the most to rise to another level. And Minnesota coach Chris Finch had a bird's eye view, watching Anthony Edwards score 44 points as the T wolves defeated Houston one 13 one O four. Yeah, I mean, he was locked in all day. We had talked yesterday about how important this game was for us. And how he needed to set the tone. He certainly did that. He was special today. College hoops, TCU crushed number two Kansas, 83 60. "So I'll throw one out there. I actually think we talked a lot in the capital of the cowboys game a lot about deck F Scott. Which gave us, I think, more confidence going at this niners game, certainly than we would have otherwise seen that performance. But I really thought the return of latent van der esh cowboys linebacker was integral for playing San Francisco because if they didn't have them, I think that defense wouldn't have chance. You brought up some things about the Giants now playing the eagles eagles off last week, giants seem like they got momentum, Danny dimes, are they going to turn him loose? Is he going to run? So give the audience a little bit of a summation of what you saw the last time these two teams play. Yes, it was me 14, right? Because the final given the season didn't count. And the eagles as a refresher who have forgotten absolutely trounced the Giants. Now, I was thinking watching that and thinking, okay, how are these teams different? What could New York do differently? And then one thing that jumps out, of course, is the Giants were missing several players on a defense. He returned and he saw him make a contribution in the wild card game, especially in their secondary behavior, Kenny adore Jackson. But the eagles also were missing Dallas Goddard and the Giants are probably the worst or one of the fewer sea senses in the NFL at sending tight ends. You saw that on display also, by the way, the TJ hawkinson. I think for the Giants to have a shot in this. There's a lot of confidence right now coming up in the Minnesota game.

Rob would fork all right, the commanders were cruising in Philadelphia and then heinecke happened. George Wallace is in Philly with a live update from Lincoln financial field of what's quickly become sort of an up and down game here. Yeah, rob, this game's everything was jealous, I just kicked a 55 yard field goal and kicked it about 56, 57 yards. It was just, it was barely good, but it counts 26, 21. This after heinecke threw an interception Philadelphia took over and then watching catches a break, a missed face mask by the officials after Dallas Gallup Goddard fumbled the football Washington took over at the 34 and minus two yards on the drive that allowed slide to kick the field goal, but a big break there for Washington to get points out of it. Taylor heinicke has the interception tonight, two touchdowns on the ground, Brian Robinson, Antonio Gibbs of the team, a 143 yards on the ground, and Terry mclaurin catches a 128 yards through the air for the eagles Jalen hurts, has a touchdown run and two TD passes to devonta Smith at Dallas Goddard. And rob Philadelphia's gonna get the ball back here 7 33 again. All right, is there a way we can stop that or can you submit a petition while you're there? There are we can try. Any way this night's gone, this game's seen everything. Why not? Yeah, sure. There you go. Mixed night for George Washington basketball though, the women's team routed Howard, the men's team, though falls at hofstra for their first loss of the season, same for navy. They are two and one after falling a cop in state. Tonight's college basketball slate did not include 16th ranked Virginia the school canceled tonight's home game against northern Iowa following the campus shooting last night. Again, if you're just joining us, commanders, believe it or not, in front of the undefeated eagles, in Philadelphia, 26 21. Midway through the fourth quarter. Rob Woodford WTO sports. And the top stories we're following for you tonight on WTO. The man suspected of shooting and killing three University of Virginia football players is in custody tonight. Christopher Jones junior was arrested this morning in henrico county, police say the victims were coming back from a field trip to a play in D.C. last night when they were shot inside a charter bus in a campus parking garage. "People and innovation forward. Commanders playing tonight rob wood fork how's it going? All right, Ann, I'm about to say something I didn't think I'd say tonight. Uh oh. The Washington commanders are halfway to the upset of the 2022 NFL season. It is halftime in Philadelphia, George Wallace's live at the link with the somewhat stunning details. Yeah, rob, just like we all thought, right? Yeah. Just like we drew it up. That's right. Joey slide with a 58 yard field goal at the buzzer Washington leads Philadelphia 20 to 14 at the half, the eagles sword early after a sack fumble on the after getting the ball after watching out the ball back after a roughing roughing the puncher Jalen hurts went in three plays later and Washington's defense is pretty much some down since then. He does have a touchdown pass to Dallas Goddard, but Taylor heinecke getting things done as well. Doesn't have a touchdown pass, but a very heads up play after a bad snap save Washington's drive. The commanders have 29 carries for a hundred yards on the ground. They're getting it done on third down as well. And just pretty impressive, Brian Robinson, junior 60 yards already, including a touchdown Antonio Gibson also has the touchdown to rob and Washington leads this thing 20 to 14 here at the half. And this is my favorite number, George, Washington has held the ball 23 minutes and 49 seconds in the first half the eagles have had it for 6 minutes and 11 seconds. I'll gain them 235 yards to 101. And the long drives of 1312 and 16 plays too, getting a ton. Man, Joe Gibbs is somewhere smiling. Watching this game. And the other football D.C. United announcing multiple roster decisions for the 2023 roster, they are apparently moving on from longtime goaltender. "All right, we're starting the lightning ish round here with the Carson once revenge game that went arrive for Carson Wentz. The eagles just continue to look like they're gonna beat up a lot of people here. And again, this is a team where if they get out to a lead, I don't know how you're gonna catch them at this point. Carson Wentz under siege all day, also holding the ball a little bit too long in the first half, some ugly stuff sort of started rear its head and then, I don't know, it sort of got even out enough that it wasn't full humiliation, but yeah man, I don't know. This commander scene with their defensive line and the way they even without chase young are, you know, really wrecking people on a lot of snaps here. They just got to be better on the back 7. And it's like the same issue as last year. Yeah, and again, when you're facing a team like the eagles who are so deep from a playmaker perspective, a mobile quarterback hurts them in so many ways. And Jalen hurts is so wisely mobile that it almost negates the best parts of the pass rush. So I think you're just generally in trouble in circumstances like that. If you can't stick to guys, you need two or three really, really top ten man cover guys to really take this team on. And that's tough. I mean, and they built it that way. They've built themselves to the point where they're really, really difficult to defend. But when Jalen hurts gets out of the pocket, it's just, it's incredible. I mean, you know, there were a couple misses in that game that I thought were some of the prettier sort of evasion and release plays that I've seen all season. And as I reluctantly admit that I probably spent more time on Twitter this morning than I like to admit publicly. There was some, I don't know, one of the shows must have done some sort of stupid way. Who's the best receiving duo in the NFL? And it's like someone says, Tyree kill and jaylen waddle and someone says, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, and she's like, I don't know. I think it's AJ Brown and Devante Smith right now. Yeah. And Dallas Goddard. If you lump Dallas Goddard and yeah. Yeah, I mean, those guys are just spectacular. So we'll see. We'll see what happens with the eagles. Again, it's very unfair because we're gonna sit here and say like, okay, well what's gonna happen if it's like the bucks game in the playoffs last year where they're down to possessions early and you kind of lose some of the, some of the functionality of that running game at that point, what's gonna happen. We don't know right now, but everything else is really, really good. Yeah? The additional, I'm glad we reprinted this in the football preview issue. I did the 12 teams who could win the Super Bowl this year. But I asked editor Mitch goldich if I could put a 13th on and then I put the eagles in.

"When you and I have talked before. Yes, very much so. Devonta Smith is interesting for me this year heading into year two now his sophomore season after The Rookie season last year. He did well last year. This is a kid that has all the promise in making of being a legitimate wide receiver one in the NFL. But Jalen hurts struggled to find him to find him when he was open to throw him open, devonta Smith is 6 one, maybe like a 110 pounds soaking wet. I say a kiddingly, but this is a guy that wants to beat you with his speed. He wants to jump over top of you. If you're a DB and that's where he really thrives, he can do a variety of things, but that's something he really likes to do. Well, where did Jalen struggle last year with the deep ball? Going through his progressions and maybe finding devonta down the sideline. He missed those throws often last year. Now all we hear out of camp, Danny, is Jalen hurts and AJ Brown are best Friends forever doing karate in the garage. That's all well and good should make for a more dynamic offense, but how does that impact devonta Smith and his numbers? So another long winded answer, I am staying miles and miles away, not miles Sanders, but miles away from devonta Smith, I would take the under 8 50 and a half receiving yards. Dallas Goddard quickly, I'll get into him. He was Jalen's security blanket, often last season. So if you're getting 700 and a half or I even saw it at 7 25 and a half, either way, I think Dallas garter just primed for a big season. I like Dallas Goddard over receiving yards as well as receiving touchdowns last time I checked, I believe it was four and a half. But even if it's four and a half, 5 and a half, I like the over for Goddard. Awesome. Well, hey, Ryan, we always love when you're dishing out some props. You typically crush it surrounding your eagles. So we'll look forward to talking plenty more about your eagles when the season comes around. We still got a little bit of time. So, hey, more time for preparation. Can't hurt, right? But thank you, Ryan, for making some time as always my man. That's the luck with your place tonight. "Ertz and I wouldn't be surprised if his ratings next year reflect that. Yeah, I mean, I think it's a great point on his versatility. And that's why for Dallas Goddard, I would have him in the top 5. And I actually would make the claim that both him and Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens are the closest things that we have right now to George kittle. I think George kittle is the best tight end in football because he can do everything. Travis Kelce is an absolute superstar, but kittle is asked to do more at an elite or high end level throughout the course of 70 snaps than Travis's. Now Travis and Darren Waller, who I think one in four in that ranking are both elite pass catching tight ends and good inline blocking tight ends, but kittles asked to do everything. Mark Andrews from Baltimore has asked to do everything. Dallas Goddard is asked to do everything. And I think those three guys are really the kind of the standard bearers or the benchmark for guys, the traditional tight end that we see. That's why I think we have to rank those guys a little bit higher for what is demanded or asked of them. It's a great point all the way around. It's time now for us to get to one more thing to wrap up the show and yesterday Madden released the wide receiver rankings Jamar jakes was 19th on the loose 19th. He tweeted, I'm going to keep working extra motivation. Tom Brady then retweeted that and said quote, don't sweat it, man. Met him didn't even put me in the game, my second tier. It's a great point in Daniel. How is it that Brady always has the right thing to say about everything in life? He's hard a phenomenal social media team. Yeah, that's a great point right now. It is back tomorrow. We're maddening racing topics.

"Jump is get better and get better and get better. And you saw more development of that pocket passing aspect of his game. I thought this was one of the best plays of this past weekend. Number one is gonna be the back in the flat two is going to be a corner route, three shallow cross for deep cross. Now, Washington is playing quarter coverage. Linebacker matches the back. That's not open. Corner plays outside the tight end, and that's not open. Linebacker takes the shallow cross and then the safety drives the deep cross. There's nothing to do with the football, but Dallas got it wins, but he's got to make this throat with someone basically in his belt buckle and throw it up high and away to Dallas Goddard. Now again, I've said this many times if that was Aaron, if that was Tom, oh my gosh. What a great threat, right? But we only referenced Jalen hurts with the athleticism. And we should. It's a positive. Right, absolutely. And the reality is this Lamar Jackson gets doubted. He won the freaking MVP. Like jaylen, you're always going to be doubted because people think you aren't a good enough passer. I think Jalen hurts has absolutely answered the question of, are you going to develop as a pocket passer? I also think it's why they're a sneaky, dangerous team in the playoffs. I'm going to the other side of the football because I don't think we paid enough attention to the ability of these interior pass rushers at the Philadelphia Eagles are having. You know, I've been screaming at all season. It's how you affect quarterbacks now in the new NFL. Okay. So here you got hargrave and Fletcher Cox. Bolder working together, but the push the initial push ends up being a touchdown. This is the physicality in which they play with. This is when Harry was playing at a higher level than anybody. Second, you see Fletcher cotton. With the physicality and the strength to push the pocket and force quarterbacks off their spot. Then we had this conversation. I got a relent to you. I was wrong about what you should fear about the Philadelphia Eagles because I was so focused on Jalen and the run game. And in my mind, I'm like, if you get that part stopped, you can limit what Philly does as a football team. But between Fletcher and javon and when you look on out on the outside with Barnett and sweat, it changes games now when you get to a point where you gotta drop back if they can make you a passing football game. The run game with the lead? Absolutely, man. So going forward with Philly, if you think about all of the things that they can kind of take advantage of in the NFC, interior pressure should be something that everybody watches with this football team and see how impactful it is. So now you kind of think they could be a scary matchup for somebody else in the NFC. Because to your point, you said before, maybe not. Yeah, because in my mind what I saw was a 41 21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. And they became one dimensional. I know that was a long time ago. And they've developed to your point Jalen has developed the offense has continued to develop. I want to see, though, if it ever turns into, I got a drop back and push it. If he can do it. Well, either way, he continues to prove people wrong, Jalen hurts does at every single level he's doing it now at the highest level. We'll see you tomorrow on NFL live. Thanks to everybody for tuning in. And I came back. Supercuts moments that matter from the first draft podcast with Mel kiper junior Todd mcshay and field Yates is there a quarterback worthy of being drafted number one overall because no player has the ability to influence a franchise more than a young quarterback in. Is there one this year? Absolutely not. And I could say a 1000% no. And how high will you move Kenny Pickett from pit up? How high will you move Desmond Ritter Cincinnati? Todd already set. He doesn't seem to have Ritter as one of his top quarterbacks. Matt carral, old myth. You think about a kid like Malik Willis liberty who struggled down the stretch. He really had some struggles to re INT against Louisiana Monroe. Middle Tennessee state saw what happened late year when the competition got a little bit better. So a rough game against old miss. Now that's not his fault. You can't go with just on just quarterback when your team's out man. They couldn't block them. You can't pay them if you can't block them in football, but the quarterbacks they answer your question feel nobody is then that top tens at a category right now. In fact, when I look at my big board, I see Kenny Pickett at 19 Desmond Ritter 20 macro 22. Malik Willis the 28. Yeah, it's interesting because just looking at my grades on this year's class versus last year's class and talking to a couple probably three or four different people over the last month or so in the league for evaluating this quarterbacks already. I would say the same thing as the people I talked to in the league and that said, you would be jumping off at number 6 in terms of quarterbacks if you were trying to stack this year's guys versus last year's guys Lawrence Wilson fields Lance, Mac Jones, you know, and then it would be the first guy from this year's class that would be the 6th quarterback taken in my opinion. "Acetate that's why he's able to give these downfield targets because he's running these routes he's only been lined up in line as tied in twenty five percent of the time or the pastor games down from thirty four percent and then last week i we gotta bios only nineteen percent which is the lowest in the season. So they're continuing to find creative ways to give him the ball downfield on his role is the lead. And by all indications is towns lead like it was advertised has so i mean he beat xavien howard on that last drive. Did he beat zaven howard lined up in isolation on consecutive plays for twenty plus yard gains like. That's that's absurd for and he's third at the position in receiving yards. Despite playing a few one fewer game the most of his competition he leaves the position in air yards per target. There's just basically every indication. He's an elite tight end and the only question is is he better than mark andrews and darren waller. It's not it's not like a. Should you sell high on kyle pits. You probably shouldn't because you can't like what would you get back for. Maybe if someone was willing to give you well doubt okay if it were dallas goddard and what for kyle pits need a top fifteen or twenty wide receiver running back actually. Not sure i would do it for a top twenty running back so that fifteen to twenty mitchell and dallas. Got her from his. I don't think i would know. Okay like godart. But i think god are and j hawkins center the spiderman me. I got a good. I got a good one Dallas goddard and cordeiro patterson carpets. I think i might do that. Yeah yeah i think would from pederson. This week was really really exciting by the way it was interesting because they did they used to. Moore's running back. Obviously the fourteen carries compared to what. Five for my davis. That was huge. But he also lined up as a wide receiver more often than we've seen at any point in the season. There's my cat and so if both of those things are going to increase Patterson could be a must start player. Moving forward oh yeah pits. He's a muslim right now. You can make a very very strong are we. Were talking about this on the video. Show earlier today. You can make a very very strong argument. The cow pits should the number two tight end moving forward. And that's not to say he'll be better than darren waller or mike andrews on a per game basis but they.

"People times are running out news and notes. Dallas goddard is on the reserve covert list. So i don't. He hasn't officially been ruled out for thursday. Has you know yes to pass to negative cova tests before he plays right. Got time to do it but well he. He has to pass the first one by the end of the day to day because they had to be twenty four hours apart. Yeah it's not going to be easy for dallas. Got her to play this week. Zach earth is sixty eight sixty eight percent roster and i think he is twenty one targets in his last three games. Something like that Is he a must add. Must start yes. He is a low end tied in one this week. He was unbelievably sloppy last week. Though at the passing game. I would start zakar this week. Over austin well. He's i'll tell you what i'd start over. Tj hopkinson. you're both crazy why. I don't think that's crazy at all he. He's had a twenty one targets over his last three games. He was good the two weeks before one. Bad game shouldn't impact are feeling that sure. But i think there's certainly more upside with hopkinson against cincinnati. I'm okay well starting cincinnati. There's solid and they're they're better than the cheap blocks defensive skinhead averts i go hopkinson. Erz looks lasts for me okay. clyde edwards dealers on irs. A little bit clearer line. You're getting at least three weeks of daryl williams and less they trade for marlin mac. They're interested in him. Do you guys think we should be stashing marlin mac. I don't think it's a bad idea at all in deep release but in a regular ten twelve team league. I don't know if that's where i don't know if he's worth it especially window trade usually happen in the nfl. You know a day usually used during the off days and today's wednesday. The renault trades last tuesday. If you wanna pick him up on saturday before the games kickoff. I'm cool with that. But i don't i. I don't know if. I want to dedicate a roster spot to him long term when he might go to kansas city and be part of a quartet in the backfield. Gronk is out this week Couple of players signed practice. Squads denver sign jon brown. Miami signed travis fulcrum. Speaking of miami to is off. I are but not necessarily ready to play. We're hoping he comes back this week in london against the jaguars arizona defensive end channel jones on the reserve kobe lists he'll try to get off the list by sunday at cleveland. He tested positive for cova..

"But they wanted to draft and then the eagles jumped them in the draft to take him. That's the folklore on dallas scattered. He's star titan six. Yeah he's a. I would say he's Seven if urges out in the sixth Cameron look up his career game logs in dallas. Just see how he does and homecoming. Games ezekiel elliott ten. Nine twenty. five. Five amari cooper ten ten tenure. Starting them sure what about darius slay said pretty good history against cooper from what i i don't know we shouldn't sleigh is gonna shadow him no. I'm not oh ten okay. Kirk cousins against seattle eight. I'll say seven. But that doesn't mean that i would say to sit him at all. I think i think that's got a chance to be a high scoring shootout. I would say so and how about. Oh no that's the bonanza. Yeah no soda. Y'all don't have to wait around till the end but everybody scoring huge game last week. Your check oh my god how did i possibly do. That was a jinx. Prove game dallas and richardson we were. We're watching the game with our boss last week in I'm next to impede he's asking about games to bet Oh the over the easy so easy. Dallas goddard has played three games in dallas and he has caught a touchdown in two of them so lack of the we start of the week. Caja osborne's zero to ten. I'm gonna say five and p pr and four nine. This is the vikings new slot receiver. He's been playing predominantly in the slot. Get single coverage has good long speed. I think he's got..

"And that's that's not a great quarterback rating in this day and agent. And i don't know that it'll be enough to convince howie roseman to keep him as a franchise quarterback because seems pretty obvious to me from the teams pursuit pursuit of shawn watson. This summer that the front office doesn't believe hurts is the guy and that is much as anything else is why. I'm kind of pumping the brakes on a hertz breakout season here in twenty twenty one. I think he's gonna struggle a little bit. And i just don't. I don't have the confidence that he is going to cement himself. As this team's franchise quarterback. I think this team in their mind and in their heart has already decided that they want a different franchise quarterback. He's going to have to do a lot this season to change their minds. My third bold prediction milton williams. We'll have more sacks than derek barnett. Now maybe this is me being overly optimistic and enthusiastic about the versatility of milton williams and how he's looked so far this summer and i am certainly one of the low men on derek barn. I think the oft injured first round pick has talent but has yet to put it all together. And i don't see him doing it here this year either he has never put together the type of dominancy and that we had hoped he would and i think williams has been impressive. I think he's going to see time at both defensive tackle and at edge rusher third round pick last year going to get an opportunity to play a little bit especially i think as the season rolls along and i think barnet's gonna miss time so i feel like milton. Williams is a guy who could put up four five sacks this year maybe more than that but probably four or five saxon. I'm down on burnett. i don't think he. I don't think he gets there. I think he's gonna lose playing time to a lot of different players here during the course of the season. So gimme milton williams with more sacks over derek barnet's at told you these were bold predictions these are these are not necessarily you know making a whole lot of sense. But that's why they're bold zakar. It's will out catch dallas. That is my fourth. Bold prediction was good to see zakar. Speak to the media week. He had offseason ankle surgery. Which certainly sounds a was hampering him. The the ankle was hampering him last year in. That might have been one of the reasons why things were things. Were so tough. He says that He's resolved himself to being philadelphia. That the differences between the team have been mended so it feels like his head's in the right place and if his body and his head are both healthy and in the right place i think he is a better player. Still in dallas guard. I liked dallas goddard's talent but the guy cannot stay healthy for a full season and he's never shown that he can be a true volume tight end in this league so i do think their numbers will be close but even without erz last year was only able to suit up for eleven games. He caught forty six passes for five hundred twenty four yards without soccer. It's in the lineup. Last year before that in two thousand nineteen he had eight catches for six hundred seven yards. In fifteen games. I think a healthy irt speech. Those totals and i think jalen. I think jalen hurts is gonna look for a reliable route runner and pass catcher and i think that's zakar. It's healthy zakar. We'll beat out dallas goddard in terms of receptions and yards here in twenty twenty one bold prediction number five. Listen i'm big on the kenny gain. Well trained guys. And i do believe. He will emerge as the eagles top receiving running back this year. I know he got off to a slow start in camp but he is really come on over the last few weeks which is good news for both jalen hurts passing attack and of course last year mile sanders after a i opening rookie season catching the ball fell off the cliff as a pass catcher. He went from fifty receptions his rookie year to twenty-eight last season and five hundred nine receiving yards to one ninety seven in two thousand twenty and yet he played in four fewer games but look at the catch percentage that also dropped significantly from seventy nine point four percent in his rookie year to fifty three point. Eight percent last year so mile mile sanders. They're going to keep trying to work him in the screen game because he is dynamic when he has the ball in his hands and boston scott. We'll still be around. He's a pretty good player but he only twenty five balls for two hundred twelve yards last year. I think kenny gain well is going to surpass both players in terms of receiving threat out of the backfield and emerge as the team's best pass catcher in two thousand twenty one in terms of running backs bold prediction number six on pumping the brakes on quiz watkins. Kids i'm someone's gotta do it. Someone's gotta pump the brakes. And i just feel like i don't see him surpassing five hundred yards receiving this year. I want to believe i really really do. I don't like being a pessimist but we get caught up in the echo chamber of hopefulness sometimes and we disappoint ourselves. And i think it. I think it puts unfair expectations on the players and the coach and the quarterback. Sometimes when you expect these grand things and they're not able to deliver you have to understand the quiz. Watkins is a former is is a six round pick in his second season. How often do those types of guys emerge as true outstanding number two wide receivers. It doesn't happen very often. And it almost never happens with the philadelphia eagles. Now he has looked really good this year he absolutely has but it is a tall order to expect a second year. Sixth round. Pick to all of this sudden. Be a starter on this team. Now he could he be a rod smith. Could he be keenan mccardell. Could he be donald driver. Marcus colston yeah. He he could be all those guys drafted in the sixth round or later he could be one of those guys but it seems to me. That consensus is that it's going to happen when the odds are actually far better that it doesn't tap now if they get if they get four hundred fifty yards from quiz watkins and the other guys jalen raider and devante smith step up and watkins is your number three then. That'll that'll work. But you'd like to get a little bit more from your number three receiver than less than five hundred yards receiving. I'm just. I'm just saying guys. Pump the brakes a little bit on this because while i like the idea of quiz watkins and he has played well. It's not entirely fair to him to be putting eight hundred yards on him nine hundred yards on him which i feel like nobody. I haven't heard anybody come out and say that. But i feel like that's where the expectations are starting to go. Because there's a lot of excited talk about quiz watkins and everybody just again pump. The brakes a little bit number seven bold prediction number seven. And maybe this isn't that bowl. Prediction devante smith will be offensive. Rookie of the year might be bold based on. How i feel about jalen hurts. I think jalen hurts is going to have enough good games in order to pile up some stats for devante smith but i also feel like people are sleeping on the impact kyle pits is going to have on.

"There have been a ton so maybe people would chirp back on that but trevor end scored a touchdown in more games in his college career than any other player. Nfl history. He literally lived in the end zone while he was at clemson crazy crazy. Put it this way austria this. Let's say one of those two guys was out for the season right right now. Would you move the other guy up significantly near top eight or nine bashing road so the answer is that answers itself. Right of course. Of course they hurt each other either one of them get a lot more touches if was not there all right last question for the show. This one comes from the big west. The question is if is still on the team we won. How much does the effect dallas is ranking. I'm assuming he's talking about dallas goddard and not the entire dallas cowboys team. That's probably a fair assumption. I kinda liked that vantage point. Right there i would. I mean it goes back to what we talked about earlier on the show like a little bit right. I mean if if zakar has gone then. I think we feel like there's a much safer case for dallas guttered et his current ranking which is tied to nate. Yeah no question. I feel a little bit more projection. It'd be a little bit higher. I'd be more or less prone to look for him in the middle rounds but it really hurts everyone because honestly i'd be bumping up regular and volunteer smith a little bit too or maybe even mile. Sanders a pinch. If urge wasn't there. Because i is there. He's going to play saw that lassie weird one. They're just a weird one. In general was accurate. He's been so much of that franchise and been such a good player for such a long time. You kind of feel like he's the type of player that philly will eventually want to do right by. He seems unhappy. Think that's no mystery. There he is showed up. This is kind of reminded me of the opt in that. We're seeing around the nfl these days right. It's so prohibitive to not show up to work financially. You got to kind of show up. take your lumps. Be the be good player teammate. And hope for the best. It feels like they're still at least a chance. Accurate could get traded this. How about earth's for cj henderson. Even right yeah. One urges has way mark catches in the anderson has zero fantasy points in his career. Many many of them not eagles bias at all. I don't like what you're thinking right there. Mike interesting thought for the eagles and the jacksonville jaguars. Of course jeremy fowler of. Espn reporting the cj henderson. Their ninth overall pick last year is available on the trading block and that's going to do a fourth today. Thanks for watching fantasy focus. Football team are is back tomorrow. "I don't know. I mean, doesn't make you better than the Packers next year doesn't make you better than the box mate doesn't make you better than the Ram. No, we'll see Arizona's a team. I start worry about out there. Yeah, I'm still not sold on Tyler. I mean, there's a lot of ups and downs and that right now. But they could be scary. I mean, I get it like the Niners could bounce back. What if the Niners get to Shawn Watson? You could do all this. Are you better than any of those teams? That's a question. That's the question cause or York do you go the other way and say You know what? Our defense is getting older? We can't get to the quarterback enough. We don't Robinson could leave. This is a transition year. Screw this put falls, and so we go the other direction. I'm just like you have a choice if you're the bear, and I don't even know that the urge things sweetens it enough. I mean, like, I don't know that you're sweetening the deal enough and then great goals who was 31 when we sent him away? Yeah. Greg still had plenty of productive years. I don't know. I just that Yeah, He's yes. Zach Ertz will be 31 during the season. York is exactly right. His numbers. Hey. Missed Game seven or week seven through 12. Okay, so I knew he was hurt it simple weeks. Boys. I just It doesn't I can't. I can't get behind this. Yeah, it does. It does not matter unless you are actually trying to go for it. If you're not going forward, then don't don't trade your future for a present. That isn't very good. That's media. What I mean, and I know they're trying to save their jobs. This is what happens when you screw up his badly as they screwed up. You become desperate. And it's you know, that's it. That's a dangerous way to operate your the desperate team. Now, all the sudden, and so you're going to start trading away capital for a reclamation project at the team is on it that don't even wanna, But I just I don't like it doesn't sit well, you get hurt, said a big price.
