"He's showing. I mean, Joy Reid of MSNBC is being sued. For the smearing of California immigration activist Rosalyn Libert. Ah Liberty. Falsely putting a racer falsely putting racist words in her mouth. With what can only be described as a reckless disregard for the truth at best. And Kevin Williams and writes even among those who are defamed, not very many are willing to put themselves through the ordeal of litigation in the financial risks associated with it. Here is an opportunity, he says. For lawyers and people who care about accountability to do some good. He believes That there needs to be a consortium of lawyers who are willing to fight on behalf of the Nicholas Sands of the of the world. The only way to get the Washington Post's or the CNN's of the world to stop the abuse is to make it cost them. And that's It's great article, Kevin Williamson says. What the world needs now is love, sweet love and a hell of a lot more defamation lawsuits. And I believe that's Mark Mark. My friend Mark Davis's point about the national anthem. We need to stand up. Enough already. We auto. We need to have the conversation about race relations about Black lives. George Floyd's death. Police reform. Of course, where I think we're in agreement over that. But to watch multi millionaires. Desecrate the United States of America by kneeling Purposefully during the Star Spangled Banner. It ought to be a bridge too far. And while my initial reaction to Mark's passionate Angry response to these four NHL players last night was to my reaction was, you know my gosh, I haven't watched a sporting event. I don't care. I have no interest Franklin watching a baseball game with nobody in the stands. I'm sorry I can't. I don't care. I hear people. Frankly, there are people even That I that I know that just love going on and on about baseball teams and honor. I've been a sports fan, My wife Tonight we're season ticket holders for the Dallas Cowboys and their new stadium. I love sports. I used to Be a part of sports. I was a sports official in another life. I used to umpire college baseball and referee basketball. Um I love I love sports. I could care less right. I just have no interest. I believe we've got a fight so hard for this election, but it's important to know that we ought to stand up for The flag for the country and everything that this great nation represents. "Source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is the Mike Gallagher show. I didn't say protest through any of the protests. Don't increase this by the by. I didn't say that. I just want an answer to the question to the protest increased the spread of the virus as progressives, and we're going to do everything that we can to make the Biden administration, the most progressive administration that it can become for states, who have never done this Universal mail in voting. It will be a disaster move from the relief factor dot com Studio. Here's Mike Gallagher, 2020 I've kind of developed a new system when I come into work, and I have all of my material in front of me and I've got The best team in radio. And everybody kind of helps me get ready for what we're goingto. Break down every day. Here on the Mike Gallagher show. I've got the good news pile and the bad news pile. And I like it When days like today deliver a little bit more a little bit of a thicker stack of good news stories than bad news stories. For example. Yesterday, the US reported more than 47,000 Corona virus cases new ones. That's the smallest daily increase in almost four weeks. The president yesterday talking about some cautious optimism. Of course we're dealing with The hurricane. We're dealing with storms. We're dealing with Congress trying to negotiate. This Corona virus. Stimulus, the PPP the the extended unemployment benefits So we got a little bit of some Perhaps good news, probably too soon. To Ah, you know to get too excited, but We've got to continue to pray that we get this thing in the right direction. Yesterday. I think I shared the good news about A new drug. That's being tested. It's a therapy that has been got granted fast track designation here in the United States out of Israel, critically Ill Cove in 19 patients recovered rapidly. From respiratory failure after treated by something called R L F 100 So now two drug companies racing to get that So some good. That's the good news deck. I give you a little bit more good news politically. Do you know where the daily presidential Rasmus and tracking poll had Barack Obama at the exact same stage of his first term? It was 44%. You know what the Rasmus and reports Presidential Daily approval rating has trump at today, 51%. His supporters are 70% more enthusiastic than Joe Biden's. More good news. Here's a little bit of good, more good news. Moments ago, the president signing the Great American Outdoors Act. It's bipartisan legislation. They are still getting something some stuff done in Washington, D C. This was a bipartisan effort. It's the most significant conservation bill in a generation. Essentially the president. Past. Ah, bill that will will protect our park system funding for the next 100 years, preserving our national and public lands. And maybe this cove it 19 insanity. The crazy year we've had with racial unrest. Uh, police reform the horrific death the terrible death of George Floyd. Maybe it has made us Appreciate more than ever. There are national parks. And the what they offer. So that's the good news file. How about the bad news? Bad news file. Remember, they told us if the federal law enforcement officials and officers would leave Portland everything will be nice and calm outside the federal courthouse. Think again. I'm reading here from the New York Post of Portland protester was stabbed during a fight with a woman who took footage inside a city park that has been housing demonstrators for months. There was a stabbing The police tried to investigate. Listen to this. Faced with a hostile crowd, police said they were unable to conduct their investigation. They left the area. That's good. It's going really well in Portland that removing federal the federal president's is going great. Um, And there's another bit of bad news. But I want to share this with you. And I want to start this hour, talking a little bit about the passionate Monologue. I heard the wonderful Eloquent articulation of my friend Mark Davis in Dallas Fort Worth, he is living I haven't heard him that get that worked up in a long time for NHL players kneeled last night during the national anthem to the Dallas Stars playing the Vegas Golden Knights. Um The Dallas Stars players I don't even know Tyler, sir. Goon Jason Dickinson to Vegas players Ryan Reaves and Robin Lehner. All took a knee during the Star Spangled Banner and Mark's reaction as a passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. Is if he sees one single Dallas cowboy. Take a knee. He's out, That's it. Click. Click off goes the game. And you know that I've been giving this a lot of thought. Because In my world right now. If four Players in the NHL. Wanna disrespect the United States of America? I really, really instinctively react with. We got bigger fish to fry. In the in The scheme of things in 2020 AA sporting event is the least of my worries. You know what I'm guilty of when I have that reaction, complacency. And that's what the other side wants. Mark is right to be passionate and to be angry. Mark is right to promise if Jerry Jones lets one Dallas cowboy take a knee That's it. And we ought to be willing to stand up. There are people who are fighting back. In this crazy tumultuous year, Kevin Williamson over the New York Post wrote a great article. About the defamation lawsuits that the Covington Catholic student Nick Sandman, has apparently victoriously achieved over Media outlets like CNN and The Washington Post. Both of those news outlets settled with this kid. This is the kid, as you know, was wrongly accused. Of being the instigator, along with the other covens and Catholic kids who were in Washington for a pro life rally. Their sin was they had Maga hats on. They had red. Make America great again. Hatch. That's it. The mob came for them. And Sandman filed a $250 million lawsuit against the Washington Post for libel. Will they settled? Who knows what they gave him if they gave him a dollar, it's a win because they settled CNN settled and, incidentally, I don't think they gave him a dollar. I think Nick's Nicholas Sandman got a pretty good amount of money. Who knows? I don't know. We may never know. But Sandman is fighting. He got first rate legal representation as Kevin Williamson put it. Because it was a high profile case. Sandman is also suing Twitter, which is a whole different issue..

When he when he when you got the call and you found out, you were forty nine what he just said that we're GonNa pick you and I I was like, okay because I think San Francisco they had just won the superbowl at Stanford. Stadium against the my Miami Dolphins and also my God I started. Thinking about the history and the legacy of the niners and all of that, and now it's a while. how would You, know how can I fit in here to be honest with you will follow the hall of famers that they they had but you know I was able to come in contribute to the team was a time. When you realize that you did belong that this was this is GonNa, work out for you about the third game into regular season and win that Monday night game when I came out and I didn't have to think about what I had to do I just went out and and I just reacted and I just felt you know okay this is something bill off and now I just have to continue to work hard and keep proving myself connecting with the franchise's you did with Montana ads you did how much was playing in the new arena in the NFL with all those fans in the the excitement and the scrutiny did that was that something that you needed to adjust to or you really just swam? were. Yeah. It was something I had to adjust to in when I first came in they handed me a big playbook and I had so much. I. Had to try to learn that it took away from my mic game on the football. Field. And you know because I was dropping football. So I was having adversity and I fought through that and but my teammates, the thing is my teammates they kept encouraging me they kept saying, Hey, look just continue to work hard. We can see it during practice. You know you've got to be able to carry this to the football field on Sunday and Monday, and I was able to do that but Yeah you know I went through some adversity but I think it just made me a better football player. Cowboys, rookie WR Lamb agree on $14 million, 4-year deal
"CD lamb officially a member of the Dallas cowboys having signed his rookie deal, and then he'll join Dak Prescott and and Michael Galloping. Amari Cooper and all that tally Ezekiel Elliott all that talent and the Dallas offense obviously makes them even more potentially explosive

"Yards rushing led all backs on eleven personnel cares again, this is where the guy was. They need to live and operate and eleven personnel. We all know that we all agree with that, etc. what I found particularly fascinating about this and it's a very, very, very, very, very small thing because you know this wasn't new information. We all need to cabins really successful out of eleven personnel. We're also excited about the drafting of CD Lane but. While the Dallas Cowboys ran eleven personnel the most successfully across all NFL teams last season, they did not run at the most. All right. Who Do you think ran? The most plays out of eleven personnel across the NFL last season I'm gonNA. Give you a second guess I'm going to buy you some time I do some some toe tapping some dancing so you can give me a guest. Thank think I bet your guess is the Kansas City chiefs, right that make sense. Well, you will be wrong embarrassing for you. The team that ran eleven personnel the most across the NFL s season was in fact, the Cincinnati Bengals. That's right. Cincinnati bengals. We're really bad football team. Twenty nineteen at the number. One overall pick took Joe Borough. We know all that but you know who else Cincinnati Bengals head on their squad That's Andy Dalton. Now Look I'm not trying to make a gigantically PRI. Eleven personnel very popular across the NFL has been for a long time. It's not like we're talking about some secret language that only Andy Dalton those however I think that's worth mentioning. It's interesting that Andy Dalton would be connected to having so much familiarity and eleven personnel that would seemingly I think be a bit of a plus in evaluating how you could fit within the cowboys who figured to run a lot out of eleven personnel. This is not me saying that I think that Dandy down this any threat to Dak Prescott. But it's interesting nonetheless by the way on the subject of. The hot topic quarterback position when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, I was a guest on the latest episode of the Jersey Boys podcast into Dag and stuff really fine I re tweeted the link it's on twitter if you want to go check it out awesome conversation those dudes are are really great but the other point here and this is This ties back to Mike McCarthy for me. Is the discussion in this particular article, and if you haven't read it again ESPN DOT COM, we also wrote about it blogging the boys dot com. But the discussion about twenty one personnel at twenty one personnel two running backs one tight end only to ivory series. Now, I need to I receivers now I I. But the team that ran at the most last season. The San Francisco Forty niners right now, the team that ran the best last season. Also the San Francisco. Forty niners why is that relevant? Why are you telling this RJ? What does this mean? I tell you what it means the last time we really heard Mike McCarthy speak outside of that video that was a minute twenty, nine seconds long. was in the cowboys introduction of him as their head coach press conference. That was weird sentence. In the press conference, the cowboys added introduced him as their head coach. Hey, words anyway. And in that press conference, Specifically Mike McCarthy was asked who did he enjoy watching a lot last year because we all know Mike. McCarthy. Didn't coach Etcetera McCarthy Project Tom Bill IS CERRO NFL network I. Know we've heard it all. He said that he watched a lot of Kyle. Shanahan. And the San Francisco Forty niners now again. Staying Eleven Personna. We want to see the three rd together. Why let me just keep it that simple however, there are benefits to personnel. There's a lot of play action in twenty one personnel if you can tell me that in some way shape or form. Which would obviously You can get both Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard on the field. At the same time I am intrigued I am intrigued, but the matter ultimately becomes who would you rather be on the field city lamb or Tony Poly Right? Like that's kind of ultimately boils down to who who would you rather be on the field. I think the answer is D. Lamb but if the cowboys do want to operate Sam at twenty personnel. That would be interesting. I would like to see that is all I'm saying. But. We'll we'll see. How that ultimately goes into thousand twenty. I thought that was fascinating. But other than that. Pro has been doing different ratings and rankings and stuff off last couple of weeks. Now, they've been ranking like the best receiver groups in the NFL, etc, and on Monday they ranked the top twenty five offensive tackles in the NFL. This is a good way to do a ranking like this. Instead of doing like the top twenty, five of of whatever I like breaking down by positions like this, we've said many times there should be right and left tackle specific discussions all the time because of different things and different roles and responsibilities but looking at this. Again, this pro ranking of the top twenty five tackles in the NFL The Dallas cowboys to tackles both made the top twenty advocated five. Number seven tyrant. Smith and number nineteen. Lyle Collins now the New Orleans Saints, the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. All had both of their tackles higher than lie. Also aggregate score was better than the cowboys but I I it's really really really hard to be underrated. While being a member of the Dallas cowboys and even though I say it's hard while Collins has done it Byron Jones. Did it. And Interestingly Enough Dak Prescott has done. So while it's really hard, it does happen more than you would think I'll man puts them respect on his name, my own cons of the bomb he's one of the best tackles in the NFL. I don't know where he would be. But I don't think there would be nineteenth I. think it would be hard just at the top of my head and I know it's really veve. But put some respect on calms name. That's what I have to say about that. We do have fun week of programming headed your way here on the block on the boys podcast feed. We've got some great. Great feedback from from the bosses from from the important folks and for that, I want to say, thank you obviously We work very hard here. On the blog on the podcast, never gone on the site to make things great as we for you. We did roll out a new..
Bill O'Reilly Responds to NFL Plans for Social Justice Decal Stickers on Helmets
"For the O'Reilly Update Message of the day the National Football League damaging itself by getting political League officials, owners, players are compiling a list of names to be used on helmet decals. Including George Floyd. The program, alas, throughout the entire season. Commissioner Roger Goodell recently apologized for his opposition to players taking a knee during the national anthem in seasons past. Saying We were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and now encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest. We, the National Football League believe black lives matter. Well, most Americans believe black lives matter, but they also believe police lives matter. 10 players put a decal of slain police officers on their helmet, Mr Goodell It's not Then your league is a political organization, not a sports franchise. In 2016. The NFL rejected Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, who wanted to wear stickers on his helmet honoring the five police officers. Slain in Dallas. According to league policy then and now quote Players generally must present an appearance that is appropriate to representing their individual clubs and the National Football League. The term uniform is used in this policy applies to every piece of equipment worn by a player, including the helmet. So if you were banning In the past all slogans on uniforms. And you're going to change it now You've got to change it for everybody. By agreeing to social protests on the field. The NFL will anger many fans. You will not support the product. That means less revenue for the lead. Let me spell it out. Fans can't go to many of the games this year. So the merchandise the shirts, the jackets off the teams is the primary source of revenue. Well, I'm not buying any merchandise if the NFL bans police officers from being honored I'm not going to do it. But far more important is the message. That the NFL is apparently sending America's an unknown fair country. Okay, we need to improve sane people agree, but it's all one side now. So I don't believe this is going to work out well for the National Football League, the N ba Major League baseball of his starts. There should be no politics on Game day. That's easy. No politics on Game day. If the players want to talk about social justice on for that, then come on my programs any time. But not on games during the week with the press conference is sure no problem

"Uniform did not totally disturb you. That's right. Monday evening brought with it. Some pictures pictures. That was jam and that was a good song. I I forgot who it But it was good. The Monday evening with some pictures of Jason Witten in his brand new raiders uniform two pictures to be precise. The first one was kind of A. You're running route. Type fighter and the other. was, how do I describe this So here's the thing I was on the drumline in school But when you're on the drama in high school, they make you sign this thing that says for the rest of your life. Every opportunity you ever have to remind somebody that you the drumline and high school you have to remind them that you were on the line and high school. So here's my obligatory I was on the drumline and high school reminder to you I friend. Anyway. The Second Photo Jason Win was on. You know when when I was on the drumline in high school we had harnesses rag that we would carry the drums on and sometimes you know when we're relaxing walking Jilin or whatever. We would let our hands rest kind of like on the. Mit in the middle of your chest twitter and That's how Jason wouldn't was posing in a second. It was kind of like, Hey, man. Out on the drumline highschool. School. The Dallas cowboys forever. It's going to be Weird Watch me playing, the raiders uniform. But. It also was not the most startling image being honest. It would be really strange for example to watch Jason Witten put on Jaguars, uniforms mats. So that's a bad example like like the Falcons uniform something that was really different but the raiders uniform from A. Like a print standpoint like an archetype is very similar to the cowboys uniform even the fonts are pretty similar and so it just looks like like an edit you know what? I mean like it looks like Microsoft paint like replace all the white with black. And the blue numbers, silver numbers you know it just looks like somebody's just dumped color onto one other color. That's. The LAS, Vegas Reiter Jason Win but. that. That is what it is this week. I do think is going to be the most similar to a training camp that we have felt. I. Don't think this will be normal but I think this week we feel somewhat normal like I said, we're starting to get photos starting to get videos saw the New York giants put out some social stuff Jason Garrett was seeing we have now seen Jason Garrett wearing a New York giants Paulo. It happened I no big deal. So. I mean everybody's pressing on and we're trying to figure things out and whatnot trying to move forward and so the last sort of thing that happened for Dallas cowboys with Jamais Zola wally opted out. That's three opt out so far for the cowboys. We do know that the deadline for opting out for players is. At four PM Eastern time and so. It remains to be seen who else across the NFL or even within the cowboys could or would opt out obviously anybody code. But We it's Tuesday. So we have a little bit over forty eight hours at the time of you listening to this. You're listening on Tuesday if you're listening to this on Thursday. Well, the deadline does so but but the cowboys stand at three opt-outs Jamais Zola Wallet latest, I did see that Zeke Elliott tweeted at New Dallas. Cowboys. Defensive. Tackle Antero and said Hey I heard that you have had some experience at the fullback position. We know that Andy Reid used Ontario Po in a variety of ways while he was a member of the Kansas City chiefs that would be cool. If Mike McCarthy wants to use Don Terry Bowen that way I would enjoy that personally myself. But speaking of Mike McCarthy. I want to talk about something. It was pretty interesting lots of great football content on the web on the Internet and on. Monday. ESPN two worldwide leader for the network. ESPN DOT COM had a great article from Matt Bowen looked at different personnel groups across the NFL and who ran them the most last year who ran them the best looking at each and every person group, and this was fascinating for a lot of reasons just from an overall NFL landscape But it has some some cowboys points that I find interesting. Now, the cowboys found them. So showed up here under the banner of eleven person few are unaware eleven personnel one running back one time end three wide receivers. That's that's the money package for the cowboys right? Because if you've got three wide receivers on the field that you have Amari Cooper. Michael Gallup last, Durant Cobb, this your city lamb on the field you want to be in eleven personnel all the time. If you are the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Cowboys ran eleven personnel better than anybody else in the NFL last year. That's right. The Dallas Cowboys were the best team in the NFL at running eleven personnel as Matt. Bowen writes in Two Thousand Nineteen The Dallas Cowboys ran seven hundred and thirteen snaps out of eleven personnel averaged seven point sixteen yards per play while registering a league best successful play rate of fifty five, zero point four, percent quarterback Dak Prescott averaged eight point four, seven yards per attempt with a league leading. Twenty three touchdown passes. Thank you bear for shaking. In the background. And also last night here running back Ezekiel Elliott Eight, hundred, twenty, three.
Dak Prescott still in talks with Dallas Cowboys
"Prescott still cannot. Deal for his. He no, he's he. Is a franchise. Cowboys I'm trying to. Some of these ads pop up, but he is in his final leg of his contract his current contract now he still has not been able to ink a deal. with the cowboys sale they are still in talks negotiations, but he says he is cowboys. Through and through, he still have one more year left under the current contract, which still thirty four thirty one point four million dollars. so he's still going and get them coins for that, but if he don't sign a contract, I guess he'll be a free agent you know with. Next. Monday plan football, no way so what?
Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott To Play 2020 Season On Franchise Tag As Deadline For New Deal Passes
"Let's get start gentlemen and. And we begin with America's team. In the latest on Dak Prescott after arduous talks over the past few months back in the cowboys were able to reach a long term deal before Wednesday's four PM deadline meeting the Star quarterback play the twenty twenty season on the thirty one point, four million dollars collusive franchise tag
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.
Dallas Cowboys' Dak Prescott will play on franchise tag of $31.4M
"This was the biggest surprise I think I've said on this show. Eighty million times I thought this was going to get done We were recording this thirty seconds before the franchise tag deadline at like three, fifty, nine, twenty, five, as I'm saying this so you know. Knock on wood that it holds true, but Dak Prescott will officially going kirk cousins route as his long term extension with Dallas cowboys was left. negotiated a long term deal reports indicate that the sides broke off talks as early as march in never really hop back on the wagon the cowboys would like you to know and I wrote back in September that they were offering him more than one hundred million dollars in guarantees. Guarantees which depending on if it's a practical guarantees, are actual monetary guarantees would be an NFL record Dak Prescott would like you to know that they also insisted on an extra year of service for that privilege. It looked like he was. He was searching for more something along the lines of the Russell, Wilson, deal where it was more of a four year more compact thing, and then you can dip again, for your thirty Still Shocked I think he's a top five quarterback I thought Seth Wall Dirty Espn made a good point that if you had to round up, Fi, you know. Two or three quarterbacks that you were sure in five years, we're still going to be top five quarterbacks Dak. Prescott would certainly be one of them so I don't understand why this didn't get done I think it's a gigantic financial mistake. for the cowboys of cost themselves now the franchise tag now becomes the floor. The next franchise tag now becomes the floor for the next negotiating period, and so on and so on. We've seen how this works out. But what's the deal I wonder you know he's? He's one of the most efficient players in the league. He fits well in the offense. You kept the coordinator. Is this Mike McCarthy saying? I WANNA. Get a look at the Sky I. Yeah this one is surprising as well to me. Connor I mean it seemed like they were the last couple of weeks headed toward their kirk cousins situation, but it's still kind of stunning that they took care of their running back before their quarterback like this all dates back to that decision to sign Ezekiel Elliott I instead of taking care of the quarterback, and that and they end up here and now they're in this as you referenced this. Three, year kind of tag situation where the numbers go up, which obviously is the base negotiating point for a long term deal, so you know next year would be. This year's tag is about thirty one million next year tag is like thirty seven and a half million or so, and then they have a choice between the transition and a super high franchise tag the year after that as opposed to the long-term deal. Deal
Will Dak Prescott Sign A Long Term Deal With The Dallas Cowboys?
"Prescott. There is two hours and fifty one minutes left until Dak, Prescott, and Dallas Cowboys can work in extension if not he will be under the franchise tag for the next season earning himself thirty one point four million dollars guaranteed. With the potential chance I, guess up after this season or get franchise tag again. He is now the third quarterback in the history of franchise tags and the NFL to play on the franchise tag. If that happens obviously before after four o'clock drew brees that it what the San Diego chargers. He leaves Don Kirk cousins, does it? What The Washington redskins twice? He leaves town, so history says Dak Prescott will play. This franchise tag may be getting again even but not in Dallas Cowboy long-term. If Your Dad, how do you feel? Do you pumped about thirty one point? Four million dollars guaranteed because if I'm looking at that piece of paper I'm like fucking here we go. Yeah. He's got to be torn. I would imagine I'm sure you're excited. Okay? I'm going to be the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for another year. MC, thirty one million guaranteed, but he doesn't feel like he has that long term security that he wants from the team. McKay. You think I'm your guy. You're willing to pay thirty one MIL for one year. Why doesn't that don't you think you should give me five six year extension and give me big time money for down the road? That's where he's gotTA. Be Thinking, but so if he doesn't do it today though. He will become a free agent. When the League year starts next March right now after the season they can negotiate. There's another window after the season before free agency to work a long term deal. I actually had that happened after I got franchise tag the day before free agency, we worked a five year deal or four year deal, so I never hit the market, but I was franchise tag the year before, so they could still potentially do that, but I guess I five year deal was offered to Prescott. Numerous Times but DAK wants a four year deal. Cowboys won a five year deal and we've been told by everybody around the cowboys and that knows the organization that that is literally. The only holdup is a one year difference so that's very interesting to me because it feels like there's it's much bigger than just a one year difference there. Thirty three to thirty five million dollars offered with over one hundred million dollars guaranteed, so if you look at that, they know that the cowboys won a five year deal that means three years of that deal was guaranteed. The other two were not locked in for five years as opposed to attack once for four, so everybody's assuming he's going to sign that deal. They're not going to get a deal done, but it's interesting because. He could potentially get thirty seven point four or something next year if he gets franchise tag thirty seven point nine if he gets franchise tag again I, don't see them running into the situation next free agency. I don't. There's no way that the franchise tagging him again they would. You would think they get the deal done I think that they're trying to see if he and Mike McCarthy going to work, I honestly believe that I think there's now granted. They made him one hundred million dollar guarantee already, so maybe I'm wrong in thinking
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"11 other NFL players did not agree to terms and with that A plan to the franchise tag for 2020. Prescott is going to play the upcoming NFL season on the $31.4 million exclusive franchise tag with the Dallas Cowboys

He said in part in his tweet his message was we must now realize the promise of America by trusting God unifying our vision and building our future, and I am running for president of the United States flag and the United. Liverpool are Premier League champions
"You are a fan of Liverpool football club congratulations to you. That's right. Liverpool getting the DUB on. On Thursday although they didn't really good dub. DUB But Manchester City did not get the DUB which means that Liverpool are champions of England. had been a long time since ever pool Wanda top-flight in England. In fact, it'd been thirty years nineteen ninety the last time that Liverpool. Where we're kings of England and so very cool, honestly I'm a Manchester United Guy, but it is very cool in sports when teams can end really long dry odds, and you get to kind of see the emotions, fans and whatnot have hopefully that something that. The Dallas Cowboys do sooner rather than later, so we can kind of experience at the cowboys now going on a twenty five year droughts not quite what Liverpool was experiencing. But but Pretty close so hopefully two thousand, twenty, the year of those types of droughts ending

Noose found in Bubba Wallace's garage stall, NASCAR says
"Now? Mike Greenberg Bristol with you this morning. And as I said right off the top of the show, I would have loved to have started with any of those today, and we certainly will get to the mall, but we begin with an absolutely despicable story coming from the world of NASCAR. In this developing story, a noose was found in bubba Wallace's. Stall at the NASCAR race in Talladega Alabama yesterday less than two weeks after Wallace led efforts to push NASCAR to ban the confederate flag NASCAR announced the news last night well after the race had been postponed due to inclement weather, and said it was launching an immediate investigation here. was there statement late this afternoon? Nascar was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the forty three eighteen. We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough. How seriously we take this heinous act! We have launched an immediate investigation and we'll do everything we can to identify the persons responsible and eliminate them from the sport. As we have stated unequivocally, there is no place for racism and NASCAR, and this act only strengthens our resolve to make the sport open and welcoming to all while himself tweeted a statement last night, which read in. In part today's despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened, and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and how persistent we must be in the fight against racism. As my mother told me today, they are just trying to scare you. This will not break me. I will not give enor- rely back down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe. In Allah Marty Smith is covering this for us in the scene in Talladega. He joined us an hour ago. The News in Bubbas garage stall was actually seen by a member of his team. Darrell Bubba never saw it. He never saw it personally and win. That team members saw it. He alerted NASCAR. And Nascar immediately had a meeting of its senior executive staff, and they made the decision that they were going to remove this person from the sport as quickly and rapidly as possible. This was not a situation where a fan might have meandered in on this because there were no fans in the garage. So what you're looking at is you're looking at team members. You're looking at officials. You're looking at potential security. You're looking at maybe cleaning personnel that have access to these garage areas. Again! That was Marty Smith with US earlier. Lebron James among many who posted messages about this. He tweeted sickening Wallace, my brother! No, you don't stand alone I'm right here with you as well as every other athlete, I just want to continue to say how proud I am of you for continuing to take a stand for change here in America and sports at Nascar. I salute you as well. Well Sprint Cup driver Michael McDowell added. God help us the level of evil. It takes to do something like this is disgusting. This is enraging and heartbreaking all at the same time Dale. EARNHARDT Jr. tweeted simply a hope of a wins it tomorrow again. The race will be run today. It was delayed by weather yesterday, and as I bring Steven A. and Marcus into the conversation here I'll. Repeat that the area in which this was discovered, there were cameras all over it should be. Relatively easy investigation for the NASCAR officials to conduct, and we are standing by for any information live from Talladega Marty Smith will bring us anything as soon as there is any further news with that thought in mind, Stephen. We've not yet had a chance to say good morning to you I. I just want to give you the floor here. What are your feelings and thoughts as we see this story developed from last night? Well I. Mean I think that for me? Personally I'm a little bit different than the kind of sentiments that have been expressed by a lot of people, because obviously you find this reprehensible and disgusting, and it's incredibly sad, and we get all of that but there's a forgive the the figurative smirk that might end up covering my face or draping my face because to me. Me It's just folks displaying the ignorance, and the more they put it on display, the more it enlightens a lot of people in White. America about what Black America has been telling them about for so many years decades spanning centuries for crying out loud. This is not new. This is something that we've known existed for all time. This is something we know we'll continue to exist. And there is no way around it and so this there comes a point in time where you have to accept that reality one of the things that I would encourage everybody to go watch. If you get an opportunity, you can go on Netflix. You can watch that documentary thirteen by EVA do vernay along with others, sensational job of address mass incarceration in the United States, of America one of the things they highlighted. Is that under the Nixon? Administration where you're literally talking about you know White folks that are hippies and you associate them with marijuana and you associate black. Black folks with crack cocaine, and as a result of that will ultimately galvanize folks in your favor, because they'd be scared to death, and you'd be hearing words like law and order ad, nauseam that was in the sixties for crying out loud in two thousand and twenty, and we're hearing the same thing now. You just have to open your eyes. You have to pay attention to the parallels you have to. You have to pay attention to the correspondence. That's taking place right before your very eyes throughout history, we have had people that have been adroit at light laying low. Controlling the narrative, manipulating the narrative switching things to their favor, all in an effort to maintain or to retain power. It's something to kind of thing that has been taking place in. Usually they've been incredibly skilled at remaining in the dark and saying it's then it's not us, it's them. It's not us well guess what are coming to light more and more in this day and age I find that a cause for celebration, not a 'cause. You know to be saddened by anything. The I find these to be. Beautiful tops as difficult as it may be the fact that I nation appears to be becoming more enlightened than ever before and ultimately as a result. We're coming together. I find that to be a huge plus not a minus. If the ignorance has to show itself, and if the ignore, it has to showcase themselves in order for this to happen coming out of the dock to me. That's of course was celebration Marcus. Stephen. That's what I alluded to earlier man just come on out. Show us who you are, so we know how to deal with you and everybody. That's four. Right knows how to deal with you. Look listen, this is. There has been. We've been having this conversation for a long time. I mean we had this conversation we had. This conversation went capped kneeled about police brutality. We talked about racing all of them and man you. You look if you look around and social. There were people literally Oh twitter last night. Say A BUBBLE! Did this for attention? What what are you talking about like? It's not. It's not unfathomable that someone could do that. We sold Jesse's me. Make reference to that because people can conjure up things to create narratives to make people overreact. That's why saying earlier. Estimate I'm not doing this emotional. Rollercoaster I'm getting off of it right like I'm nuts and bolts to was going on. There is progress that needs to be made in this country I'm focusing on that progress that needs to be made. That's what bubble wireless is focused in on a by making his statements in Nascar. That's a lot of athletes are focused on a lot of people in society in general of focused on making sure that we draw a line between racist people and people that one good for everybody. That's the bottom line. Look for as much as this is egregious and the things that have transpired for low type. I grew up in the south light. It's not. An uncommon for me to see racist people are know what it looks like or even even be surprised or shocked about certain things that tend to happen. The bottom line is this. I'm often emotional roller coaster like if you racist just be that come out publicly and be that enlist separate that and you be a part of the minority port society that we want to get to, and we think we already are at so all of that being said I'm with Steve Day like in this bringing a lot of people to the light, and the hateful ones are fighting their battle because they see slipping away. Score you're not GonNa hear me say this very very often, but I wanNA give major major kudos to a Lotta. White folks out there in America because if it wasn't for them, protesting and marching with black individuals if it wasn't for them, you know engaging in the kind of of of you know resistance to whatever level of oppression we as black people have been feeling this nation I. Don't think some of these folks will. will be coming out I. mean listen the back. In the day. They used to wear the sheets and used to cover the identity and their faces that we didn't know who the hell they were by virtue of that now. Some black people, a lot of black people will tell you they exist in corporate America. They could be the very people that you're working for the very people that you're talking to I happen to be. Be Blessed we happen to be blessed to not certainly not have that at this company is because we've seen the actions on the part of our executives. And what have you over continuous basis? Elevated level of sensitivity that this place has shown throughout the years deserves to be commended. There's always work to do. There is no perfect place. Make no about it, but I'm incredibly proud to be a part of the Walt Disney and And specifically the ESPN family in that regard having set all of that I'm in the minority, because the reality is vast people, there's a vast number of people of African. American descent in the United States of America that feel subjugated I wouldn't go so far as to say enslaved, but feel subjugated by bosses in corporate America people that say all the right things when the cameras are rolling, but behind the scenes they engage. Eight your and the conduct. Subjugation that they devote their voiceless. They don't have a voice in that regard, green. Marcus knows exactly what I'm talking about. And so because of that because of these times that we're living, what we're seeing is a populous within the United States of America that sees the dramatic shift, and there's so appalled, and and put and taken aback by what they see transpiring that they can't hide their vitriol. They're coming out of the dock because they're being forced out of the dog. We as black people. People have to appreciate the fact that couldn't happen without a vast number of white individuals in our society standing with us and saying you know what we see where the hell you coming from. If we didn't see it before we see it now, and we're with you, so you have that other segment of the population saying wait a minute we lose some of our own here. Some of our own alternative guests and the poor in this noxious. We gotTA speak up and as a result. Of the dock again I find that a cause for celebration doesn't bother me at all. If we wore, we wore. Let's get it on. I liked that. I want to leave it there for the moment again. Marty Smith is standing by Talladega. If there is any further information on the investigation, we will have it for you immediately, meanwhile, Steven as going to stay with us here for a few more minutes, and we'll get some football conversation as we go his feelings about the Dallas, cowboys have been well documented. This should be a very big day in Dallas. We will talk about it and why and then Lebron and other NBA players have until Wednesday to decide whether or not they're going to play. What should we expect? Woge will answer that question as we continue this out. GET THEM ON ESPN. GEICO. GETS YOU ACCESS TO LICENSED AGENTS? Twenty four

"And from as you're humble host onto the show, it is Wednesday June tenth two thousand and twenty, a very happy Hump Day from all of us to all of you. We hope that all is well wherever you are. We hope you're happy. Safe healthy practicing social distancing, and we hope talking about the Dallas cowboys brings you some level of joy. It is the middle of the week so hopefully. You've got some fun things in store this weekend. I mentioned that We're moving and so lots of packing my future. You know you just you never need boxes right? And so you get all the boxes and then all of a sudden. You need boxes now. You know what all the boxes now, but I digress. Tuesday we got some Dallas cowboys action in a weird way. Tuesday had some interesting Dallas cowboys. I don't say headlines But content lurking and something really cool Troy Aikman was on the Darren Woodson show a new podcast out there. I've checked out there and podcasts pretty awesome, so if you haven't make sure you go, support a former cowboy and Darren has had on variety of people on his podcast so far, but he obviously had troy remain, and there was a lot discussed here, and it was just really cool to hear troy and Darren, talking about life and football and everything. But Troy I thought he was asked about how he handled success. Once he finally achieved it with the cowboys after they want Super Bowl twenty twenty-seven, because if you know troy kamins entire career, you know very well, you know that. Obviously. You know in college things then get off to a great start for him transferred to Ucla and obviously things didn't get off to a great start in the NFL with the cowboys, but I thought this was a really interesting answer that troy kind of took a number of directions. Here's Troy Aikman on Darren Woodson show. At the time, whenever teams had gone on and won a super bowl, then they always talk about the super bowl hangover, the foul and sees and how they struggled, and they typically had most teams had struggled after they'd WanNa Super Bowl guys, doing book, deals or appearances, and you kind of lose. Lose the focus. I guess and. It was always strange to me because after we won our championship. I thought man. That's such a such a magical time and the feelings you have when you go through that playoff run and win a super bowl. To me, it only fueled the drive that much more. How do you not want to feel this every year? You know so I got even more motivated to to to win at all costs, and and so that's really where it came from, and then knowing that we had become an offense that we throw the ball. There's this. There's this idea that that all we did was run the ball you know and and we ran the ball obviously, and we ran the ball well, but we threw the ball really well, too, and early on in Games, in the first half, we would throw the ball more with we'd run it. And then we'd close games running the ball, but if you go back and look at a number of those years our best years. are are yards per per pass we were. We were number one a few times. We were top three, so we didn't throw it as much as Miami or San Francisco Green Bay, but when we did, we throw it as well if not better than anybody who did so we? We were a really good throwing team, but with that being stead I knew that I knew that I wasn't going to win. Passing titles or touchdowns and I would have loved to have thrown the ball more than. Than we did, but my legacy was going to be about winning championships and and that's really that's that's why I'm in all fame. I know that and and so I knew that early on that that this is this is how I'm going to be defined and quite honestly I was okay with that. I mean that's that's the way as it should be. especially as a quarterback and so I think that only fueled me a little bit more and the frustration for me. I moved through. My career is I just felt that there were a lot of decisions being made that I had no control over, and yet they were reflecting on me because of how we were playing on the field, and and so I I know what it was like when I first got in the League, and we weren't very good, and then I know what it was like. When we got good that five six year window, and then you through that you earn some respect urine, respecting your own locker room and urine respect around the league. And I felt like I was at risk of giving that up. Because of nothing that I could control and that's where the frustration became Each year got more and more frustrating and I really felt that I'd go on and play after I left. The cowboys didn't obviously work out that way, but You know my career was cut a little bit shorter. What it wasn't. It really was not due to injury it was due to. Just. Finally got a breaking point, and and not not wanting to continue to do things or go along with the things that were being done in Dallas. Troy we have heard say at several turns. that he well I suppose I should say we've heard Choi, make some interesting comments or things that people would chop up to be interested in comments and. Maybe you don't find it interesting that troy would kind of blame. That's harsher of things on the front. Office certainly saying that you know. He was just kind of worn out there at the end He's spoken before about how he was. You know maybe you're. GonNa play somewhere else. He talked about that in his episode of a football. If we talked about that with Chris Weaver our friend from NFL films. I, just I don't know I mean obviously Troy Aikman knows better than anybody else about the life of Troy Aikman but That's interesting to hear and you know. Troy has also spoken about how he kind of has some sort of goals to be an NFL general manager, and how? He's realized that you know that's not going to happen with the cowboys because he's not a Jones and I don't know I just you know it's interesting to hear Troy Aikman. Continue to talk I think I think that people are and I'm not saying nobody should be, but I think people love Tony. Romo. In love him as an analyst, and as a commentator that we almost take for granted, how good trike is at his job as well and Troy Aikman a great public speaker, and so hearing him on this podcast was awesome We talked to Edward or last weekend 750 about he was on his podcast, and by the way I know that we did not have a new episode of the seven five. Oh this week Tony. Mentioned that he was getting some knee surgery, so he is, he's on on the men, so our best wishes to our fellow bt. Beer Tony Casillas. That was why we weren't able to get an episode of the seven five hour, but we should have one next week anyway. Interesting comments from Troy I thought the coolest thing was how he talked about how he knew that he was going to be defined by championships, and he really didn't care about anything else. He just wanted to win. You know in in your super cliche world. That's what you want to hear from your quarterback. Right I just want to win. Whatever win it all cost win win win! This offseason has felt so long. That I've already forgotten until this moment that it was just a few months ago, that people tried to make the case that Tony Romo was more talented than Troy. You know I'm just going to say. I disagree and we'll leave it at that but that was not the only interesting point of audio recently..

What kind of psychopaths does that right? That's a good point Well glad to hear you're doing well excited for all draft coverage you guys are going to bring. Is it going to be weird because normally don't sleep like I feel like I feel like you might sleep? Bless you know what I mean because you'll be home and so it will feel like you're never not at work except make sense. I'm just I'm anxious about like how the remote aspect of everything is going to affect it. I mean you know. We HAVE SNACK. Foods just doing podcasts remotely and that that's the only like three P. three or four people. This is GonNa be like an eight person production. It's also going to be you know by the time the draft is over. We'll probably be live for like eleven hours so we can keep all of that running smoothly without any like major hiccups. That'll be really really exciting. yeah. I guess I hadn't really thought about the fact that I'm just GonNa be at home for the whole thing but hopefully you know live streaming the draft from my couch. Sounds a little bit more comfortable than doing it from the chairs at the studio at work? That's a good point. Well I guess congrats on that upgrade of sorts You know if you know you're going to be on camera everything so maybe you go with the heavy short. You know package if that's what you WANNA do. You know what I mean like you. You've got that option. I was actually. I was debating yesterday. 'cause like it's kind of it's our tradition for draft covers that we like to dress up and you know we take it seriously like. I usually wear a tie at least for like ninety one so yesterday I was like debating you know. Should I like where tie like do I should should? I put a suit on or should I just do this thing in my sweat. I don't know I haven't yet. I guess I got to figure that out. You could be the comical like standard guy like order the t shirt with the tax printed on like everybody loves that Guy but Well certainly want to get your thoughts briefly on the draft at the end here but a nice reprieve. I think all week long. We've been talking about the greatest teams in cowboys franchise history to have won the super bowl. I tweeted about this last Sunday. And a lot of feedback from different people and a lot of people suggested two thousand sixteen. I'm curious if you agree that that is one of the greatest teams in franchise history to not win the Super Bowl. I mean just from a numbers standpoint. I think that's probably true. You know I mean how you know. Stay tied the franchise record for wins in thirteen thirteen and three. I think them in. Oh seven. That's the two best records in franchise history if I'm not mistaken Where that ranks among like all of the great cowboys team. I don't know I don't think they're number one. I don't they're probably not even top three I think bad team. It was a lot of button but I think there was a lot of lightning in a bottle in that situation You know obviously it was disappointing way to end the season. I would've loved to see them get a chance to play Atlanta and maybe New England. But there's probably there's probably at least two or three other teams that I would say are better than them. Where do they rank? This is your first season was twenty thirteen right. Where do they rank? If you rank the ones you've covered. Are they even in the top? I I'd imagine that the top three but you can certainly argue twenty four teams better in a different way. But are they what are they what are they? That's really tough. Oh Man I think I think twenty six teen was probably the better overall team From top to bottom like everything You know I think people kind of gloss over just how Wolf that twenty? Four defense was right But I think I and then keep in mind you know. Obviously it's what if but the two thousand sixteen team also had home field advantage throughout the playoffs so whether it had been Atlanta or who'd Atlanta beating the division around. I don't even remember Seattle so I mean regardless of who they played they would have had the benefit of playing at home whereas obviously if Dallas beat Green Bay and fourteen. They're going up to CENTURYLINK FIELD. Which is a really tough place to win especially in the playoffs Having said all of that I probably give the edge to twenty fourteen because for the final six weeks of that season. Tony Romo was playing like an MVP. I wrote a column that year that he deserved a little bit more buzz for the NFL MVP consideration. Obviously Dad's had the best season of his career. I actually looked this up when we were talking about on twitter. Like in terms of production like touchdowns and yards per catch like it was one of the five bad seasons for the last twenty years. And then you have one of the ten or so best rushing season from DEMARCO. Murray like they they had some really remarkable stuff going on and When you combine that with Romo playing at the level he was at. I think I'd probably give fourteen the edge. I'm interested than number three if those are number one and two is number three hundred nineteen even though they you know kind of you know out there you would have to say twenty eighteen just because that's the only other team I've covered. That made it to the playoffs. I suppose that's fair. I see I was gone more from like a talent stand but I don't you think like the two thousand nine hundred eighteen talented than two thousand eighteen. I'd have to think about IT I. I don't think I don't think you can definitely say that I mean twenty eighteen. Obviously deck was way better in nineteen than eighteen But I mean eighteen. You still had nine games of Amari Cooper. You had the absolute best season of of buyer Jones's career You had demarcus Lawrence producing at a much better clip than he was in two thousand nineteen And I think everybody else around them arguably played better. Yeah I mean Jalen Smith and late vendor were so much better at eight in the nineteen bomb. That's a good question like I'd be interested to see who would win a game between the two thousand eighteen. Twenty nineteen cowboys. But I'm going to defer to the team that made the playoffs. I mean they. They won ten games. They went seven one down. The stretch and twenty nineteen cowboys couldn't get out of their own way for more than like a week and a half. I'm so I have a hard time giving them any sort of accolade. That's fair I suppose in thinking about this twenty sixteen wise kind of like lightning in a bottle implies like it really really dissipated quickly afterwards and obviously there's been some success and whatnot win. When do you think they caught it if that like? When was the moment they like? Put the LID on the bottle. I know it's a weird question Ache your like anywhere anywhere between like the Middle Aspect of that twenty sixteen season from like from like mid October to Thanksgiving like you could point to beat green bay down in lambofield against Aaron Rodgers. Which doesn't happen very often You know DAK played poorly against Philadelphia. And then let them back for that overtime win and then obviously you know they win an instant classic against Pittsburgh and everybody kind of points to that game as you know everybody collectively decided like you know. We can't pull back out of the lineup after that So anywhere in that stretch you know. Obviously they won eleven games in a row but but not all of them were impressive. You know you think back like they. They looked really shaky Minnesota in December of that year They struggled a couple other times but like in that. Stretch from like. Yeah like mid October until around Thanksgiving. It just didn't seem like anybody could could touch them. No matter what happened I I like to look at time in a weird way all the time but is it strange to think that we are just as far removed from that season now than at the time we were from the last cowboy season that you didn't cover that makes sense. Yeah I mean it's dude. Yeah the older I get and I mean I'm only thirty one so I know some people would probably rolling their eyes at me like I'm not that old in the grand scheme of things but I mean shoot I was. I don't even know if I was twenty four yet when I took this job You know demarcus. Ware was still a cowboy. When I got here Travis Frederick hadn't been drafted yet so yeah I mean I have been here for the entirety of an all pro career. Travis Frederick got drafted a month after I started and he retired a month ago That's really weird for me to think about. So if it's really weird to look around and realize that you know there's only about two guys left on the entire roster that were here before I got here and I think it's Sean Lee and Lt Ladder. That's nuts. I didn't think about that that way. That's a long time ago like if you think Twenty twenty in the NFL right so like if you would think like when you started was the spring of two thousand thirteen so the Ravens were defending super bowl champions and so like if you were to look at the exact same gap of time seven years prior to US starting was the spring of Os. Six in Tony. Romo hadn't even taken over yet again like that freaks me out like pregnant in that in those terms. I think it's funny because like it's easy to measure the NFL like by quarterback careers. Because like when you think about that it's it's a lot.

"Got a couple of guys that might make the hall of fame. Big Deal that right to have to me. You have to have a ton of hall of fame players or our guys up for the whole thing to do And that team didn't have that what to that point. I mean that that exact point exists for the two thousand fifteen team. You know what I mean like. If you're going the hall of fame measurement you know what I mean so I just I this team and I think you'll agree is so fascinating In terms of the the sort of place it holds in many people's maybe hearts and minds. And maybe this is more of a psychological question and of course had a brilliant education at Texas universities in your fit to answer this But what what is that? I mean I think 'cause you saw this. This team was suggested by many and I think that this team answers. More of a question So in from the perspective of maybe. What's your favorite team? That didn't win a super bowl. I can certainly by that but I mean if you're if you're caring teams And what do you think it is? Do you think it's like revisionist history. And sort of revisiting like senior high school sort of and this is like a letterman jacket type team. If that makes sense I think one thing that people my age forget I mean. I grew up in in the seventies when the cowboys had the twenty year consecutive winning season. I mean they're always they're always. They were always good and then they come back in the nineties and they win the three super bowls. They're good for most of that decade. So what people my age sometimes forget is there is this whole generation of fans of cowboys. Who have never known winning. And they have no sensitivity. They don't know all that they didn't live through that they didn't see that kind of the glory days of the cowboys. So I think this is yes. This is one of the Best Team. They have in their lifetimes. There's no question about that. A lot of people. It is one of the best teams that they can remember seeing cowboys team When they've been alive but for for me I see most of the cowboys teams and it doesn't rank among those great teams and I would tell anyone who ranks at the best cowboy seem not to have won a super bowl. You Know Who's coaching that team? Really think Jason Garrett was going to win. A superbowl wasn't going to happen. There was no possible way even if they had one in Green Bay. I don't know that they could have gone on and beating Seattle New England. I just don't think it was going to happen. And that's kind of what you're looking at to win a championship. I just don't believe to this day if they would have done that. While so the as you know the idea that everybody holds onto well they'd gone to Seattle earlier in this. You know like that's that's the crutch that everybody uses in their minds to sort of soften this memory. I guess I've been asking everybody. We've been discussing this three teams that have come out. We're going to explore the two thousand sixteen team later this week and I think that's just as ridiculous of argument honestly but if you look at oh seven fourteen and sixteen if you were to rank those three teams chances against the Patriots teams. They would have faced off respectively in the Super Bowl. Who's got the best chance who's got the second bassin who's who's just getting routed time about two thousand seven two thousand seven so seven copies o seven. Patriots and fourteen had they gone to Seattle and wine so planned fourteen patriots and then sixteen four to assume the cowboys you know somehow beat the packers beat Atlanta in the NFC. Championship game Because I think the more I think about it. I think the sixteen cowboys. Stand the best chance but just because I think the sixteen patriots are the weakest. It's it's more about New England here than anything for me gum and and I regret that premise. If if we're looking at the best one of those cowboys teams. I would say two thousand seven agree with the fast one of those cowboys teams that we're talking about and I do think if Creighton had made the catch there and that giant's game I think the cowboys have won that game. I mean this was a team that you're talking about. You have to be good on both sides of the ball in my mind to win a championship. And that's why I say the twenty fourteen being nineteenth on defense. The defense just wasn't good enough. They didn't have any playmakers. Deep dish weren't good enough on defense to do that. But that two thousand seventeen. I do think they were. They were good enough on. They ranked ninth and defense third off. They were well rounded Football team and I understand they got blown out by the Patriots that year at home and and so I agree with you from from that standpoint. I don't know that they would have gone back to the Super Bowl and have beaten the Patriots. But I I would have liked to seen that and I think they would have given the Patriots a much better game. They get earlier in the season. I think would have made some adjustments and then been much better but I agree with you on. The premise of that was the weakest. The twenty sixteen was the week at the Patriots Teams Obviously yet two thousand seven Patriots team is still one of the best of all time. Even though they didn't get it done So quiz time for you Charene. You've spotted off where each of these teams ranked offensively and defensively so pretty confident that you're going to be able to handle this. Who Will Lead the twenty fourteen cowboys in interceptions? It's been six years so it's been long enough that maybe this is fuzzy in the mind. Twenty fourteen team in interceptions. I.

"And following all protocols procedures and guidelines so that we can get through these days sooner rather than later it has been a fun week here on the show. It's been a week of reflection. Certainly as we have examined some of the greatest teams in Dallas Cowboys. History to win the Super Bowl on Monday. my dad joined as we discussed the nineteen ninety-four Dallas cowboys on Tuesday yesterday. Nfl Network producer of the show. Bobby Bell joined as we went all the way back to two thousand seven which was like five thousand years ago and to say Oh. Yeah Today on Wednesday we are getting in sort of to the two thousand fourteen Dallas cowboys with mother football herself pro football talks Sharon Williams Tureen. One of the best. Nfl historians there ever has been she knows more about football than anybody in the world and so I was fantastic to talk to Sharon again. The ambiance with you we discussed the two thousand fourteen cowboys but really about how they are not one of the best teams in Dallas Cowboys. History to have won the Super Bowl and I know you might be thinking what what season was awesome. What are you talking about the more you kind of peel that onion back layer by layer the more you sort of realized that it was a very good team and it was a very special team but it is simply not one of the best in. Dallas cowboys history to have won the Super Bowl. It was very very very special ensuring an are kind of getting to that so I. It's a conversation that you're going to enjoy. It's a busy week here around the PODCAST FEED. Of course the final week leading up to the NFL draft as things. There's mock drafts Galore. There's all sorts of projections. There's rankings and what now we have an episode of top in the draft coming your way from from. Connor and from there are working hard. And they're doing what they're they've got an interview with Laurel Merchants in so I think you're really going to enjoy that one and look. This is fun time. I mean from a football sense in in terms of it being draft season. I know things are different. I know things that we know. Things are not what we're normally used to. But the draft is always very fun in terms of trying to figure out what teams are going to do. Who's going where what secret. They're trying to keep? And so in that respect we're trying our best to have fun in the middle of all of and we're hopeful that brightens your day. These are obviously some turbulent times. We've mentioned talk on the draft coming your way later today and we've got a lot more in store we've got a lot of things up on blogging. The Boys Dot Com on Tuesday. Dak Prescott issued a statement not going to get a whole lot into it here because it's a bit of Old News at this point but Dak Prescott. Obviously as I'm sure you saw was the center of attention along with Ezekiel Elliott for an alleged party and alleged. Get together at his residence this past weekend. Obviously these are very very very important. Times when it comes to social distancing and so there was a lot of discussion about that Prescott like I said issued a statement to sort of clear things up you can read that at blogging the boys dot com for. Now let's go ahead and let's do. Let's talk some two thousand fourteen in kind of nineteen eighty-four Dallas Cowboys with mother football herself Sharon.

"For some fine impatience In kicking around the the top ten songs of two thousand and seven. I had forgotten about a lot of those songs. I'm telling you umbrella was my jam. I mean I've had some some songs like disturbed by Riana Man. Those those are some good taps. I mentioned tomorrow's guest Sharon Williams from Prophet Botox. She's a fighting Texas aggie. Just like me. I'm fall of two thousand eight in college station. Disturbed was playing a lot. Let's say that You know they were good times but look Monday was. Kinda just chill day ultimately with regards to the NFL And for what it's worth the NFL and NFL PA Did agree on a virtual offseason program? So it seems like we're GONNA get some action if you WANNA call it that there. Lots of teams players and staffs zooming and skyping and face timing. So that's going on but you know next big thing coming up is the draft and I'm really excited about the things we're going to be doing for the draft at blogging. The boys where we're going to have you covered everywhere on the podcast feed video on the side on social. I mean we're all going to watch this draft together obviously in a virtual sense ourselves and so we're going to have some fun and and I think I think you'll enjoy and we appreciate you coming along for the ride. So yeah two thousand seven cowboys I. I have a hard time putting them the ninety fourteen personally but I for me. That's in talking about seventy in sixty eight. I think that these are the top four. I really do I think. In whatever order you want to go. Ninety four zero seven seventy eight sixty eight however you want to sort those out. I think that I can kind of rest with that personally. But I'm excited to talk about the two thousand fourteen team and the two thousand sixteen team because I think I think we'll have a bit of an experience doing that. And that's what we're always going to do here on the OCHO. Hey you got to favor right. You gotTa have the absolute best Tuesday of all time you know why because you deserve it my friends as always go cowboys and peace out.

"In retrospect and it wasn't viewed that way initially so even though there was like. I it was considered a strong lex of talent. It wasn't thought to be initially a big time super bowl contender. I don't think They have the run and gun opening game against the yarn. Not to interrupt you but I vividly remember Watching an NFL network pregame show like early on in Jamie. Dukes was on and predicted because it was everyone's doing their super bowl. Prediction teams. Whatever baby dukes predicted the cowboys to face off against a team that you and I have also talked about that doesn't get enough love? Nfl history the two thousand six San Diego chargers that went fourteen in two thousand. Seven was Turner's first year who had interviewed for the Cowboys at coaching. He predicted a cowboys chargers super bowl and I thought at the time like wow. Nobody's really the cowboys in this capacity. But you know obviously was a bit. Prophetic ended up being really good. Yeah absolutely and it was one of those things where they opened the season the giants and have that running gun opening match up. Where I I can't remember Romo's exact stat line but I I remember something certain in terms of just how few passes he threw it. And how do I get Kinda guess? 'cause I think I remember it but I'm not a hundred percent? Sure okay hit me. I think it was. It was something to the effective. Fifteen twenty four for three forty five. There's no way you're not looking at this. That's nobody cares about it. Dude no okay. Y'All don't understand y'all don't understand. This is like my savant. I did serious. I couldn't remember was fifteen of twenty four fifteen of twenty six fifteen twenty four three hundred. Forty five yards four touchdowns one interception. He also had three rushing attempts for eleven yards a touchdown on the ground. Yeah and that was that was a that was a a lot of hope about wow. This could be the you know rejuvenated cowboys often. Jason Garriga Whiz Kid. That's been in Miami the last couple of years. And you know it's no longer the which is funny to think about now at the time like Garrett was Sean McVeigh People. And and it's funny. How people do it now. But I mean you you think fit. Garrett style was old they were coming out of you know forty five second game clock type of thinking. Bill parcells on offense right so I mean it was. It was old school and it was finally freed up and allowed to kind of you know take chances and you know people saw the offense blow up that game the following weekends Miami. But I don't think people really started to believe in them as contenders until about third week where they were Sunday night football. They were on the road at soldier field against the defending NFC champion. It seems a lot of war. No doubt about it but they throttled them especially in the second half. What'S THE FUN game? It's Mr civilised thirty four to ten right and I wanNA say Terre alone. Game was eight for one. Forty five eight for one. Forty five year official prediction. Fratello believe. That's correct terrel owens against the Chicago bears. How many targets? Oh Gosh I don't know. I think that was one of those games where he was pretty close to perfect. So like eight or nine wells. Okay so I WANNA interrupt for one forty five I WANNA. I remember that game. I have to interrupt you because I don't think I've ever told you this either. And so I know do this a lot but I remember vividly and telling everybody I knew this little theory of mine and so I had kind of equated the Oh seven cowboys to the ninety five cowboys and my thought was In in ninety four and in Oh six they there they were bounced you know on the road against an NFC. West him An lost that really heartbreaking playoff game That costed them a trip to a super bowl. That would have been Miami like ninety four. No six And in response to that took a defensive back from the team they lost to in free agency the following season in ninety four acetate dion and then in seven after six they take. Who's the Guy I'm talking about? Ken Hamlin through is not considered a a big study at the time but of course came in a pro bowl season right so and and on top of that. The first game of the ninety five year the cowboys throttled the giants in the first prime time game of the season which was on Monday night football and then in. Oh seven throttled the giants in the first primetime game of the year which was on Sunday night. Football remember kind of Heaven. Oh and there was something else I forget what it was but the point was I had that gone in like everybody I knew was dude. You have way too much time on your hands. It was like you don't get in thirteen years when I talked about belt about. Yeah Yeah you have too much time on your hands but I remember fifteen twenty four for thirty forty five so I get you and so like I mean we're we're kindred spirits here the and that was the funny thing is you talk about you. Know people have wanted to bring up two thousand sixteen as one of the best runner ups and twenty fourteen. Which I don't think those two teams anywhere close to some of the things that happen to want it and I think it's obnoxious to suggest that but when you look at the best parts of those teams those twenty four and twenty two thousand fourteen and twenty sixteen teams that was Dallas. Like a lot of people. Don't remember that you know the twenty fourteen defense as much as they gave stuff up and you'll remember. They generated a ton of turnover. Yeah a ton and it's funny to think about now 'cause you know five years of like nine turnovers season or some crap but at at seventeen was doing that that oh seventeen was you know getting tons of turnovers with you know. I think better than the guys who had at least four interceptions I mean fifteen. You know fifteen interceptions. Between Anthony Henry Ken Hamlin and Terence Newman. And you're generating pressure to double digit sack guys and you were still able to do some of the aggressive things in the passing game like you didn't fourteen and you know you had the sort of dominant offense of line. I obviously think the offensive line and fourteen was better than the one I know seven but oh seven was strong one and everybody says like now. We're getting into the weeds. Like people will love to say like if Tony Romo had ever. Had you know a great offensive line again to your point? He had a great offensive line in two thousand fourteen. But people do sleep on this sort of. Oh Six oh eight offensive line like that. That group does not get a lot of love generally as especially oh seven right when they when they brought it out. Leonard Davis really and Leonard Davis really starting to fulfill some his potential. Having been you know the second overall pick in the draft several years prior by the cardinals reading Michael Vick was taken and they flow. Cell Adams was finally kind of hitting his stride. And you know Y- they'd really built the other Andre Girod. Had you know for all the jokes? He still like to make today though he couldn't snap in the shotgun like I mean Andre Gerard was dominant at center. I mean to me. I'M NOT GONNA say. He was just as good but he. He was in the ballpark. Of what Travis. Frederick had been for them for the last several years. I was really really good for them. So looking at this roster I think That's why I think it's fair. Potentially to say this is the best team in now in a super bowl. This is the most touchdowns Tony Romo threw in a single season. Mr Von. How many was it thirty six. All right this is the career year for Marion. Body also through nineteen interceptions. Of course this is the career. Marion Barber This is prime to your point. Demarcus ware frame. Probably every member of that secondary exceptionally Roy Williams and I ran into that prime. Wasn't that long but you were getting a lot of production out of Anthony. Henry even like Pat. Watkins had the return touchdown against the Vikings after the blocks Yoko. You're still getting great production at a Greg. Ellis is Prime Jason Witten. I mean you're talking about Greg Greg Ellis length. Let's not just forget Greg. Ellis had twelve and a half sacks. Would you look at and go awhile? Krier Greg Ellis craiglist twelve and a half sacks in twelve games. He or two thirteen games or something. He didn't play. I don't think till the rams game or a I think the rams getting was the first game. He played that year because he was still recovering from an injury from the year before. So Greg Ellis was averaging like a soccer game and demarcus. Ware was chain about a sack. A game and you had. Yeah Anthony Henry. Playing the best of all of his career when they're outside of early o five probably. Hey guys going to get back to talking to two thousand seven Dallas cowboys in just a second before we do a quick break here award from our sponsors. Welcome back everybody. Let's get talking two thousand seven Dallas Cowboys right here on the right. And you've got a long defensive line. Chris canty Jay ratliff. Marcus Spears Jason Hatcher. Before you know Rod Marinelli earned Jay ratliff. Really starting to come into his own and no seven. That was broke out. It wasn't as I probably year. But that's he broke out as you know one of the better you know. Interior Defensive Linemen in the League right you've got. I mean the goat Bobby Carpenter. I mean like the point is you know. Why are you do you do that? The point is like the depth on. This team is stupid. I mean honestly I mean compared to like what what it's been like. What's the deepest roster they've had that is drastically different since maybe like twenty? It'd be twenty sixteen. I mean honestly twenty nine hundred twenty nine probably twenty nine hundred nineteen one the more talented teams they've ever had and that's the thing. Twenty nineteen and twenty two thousand seven. I it's interesting. Oh seven is kind of a a look into something a little bit more different like if things would have been a little bit more different for the two thousand nineteen cowboys because they were doing the same sort of things. They were absolutely throttling teams when they would beat them. The Oh seven cowboys where you look you know I. I think it was the first four something like the first four road games. They played that season or for the first five because they had the close one against buffalo before the first five they won road games by double digits. That's great I mean. It was like you know they. They beat the dolphins by you. Know like twenty or something. They beat the bears by twenty four. And you know they. They have divisional games against the eagles where they beat them by twenty one. And that's the famed whitten game. Where his helmet pops off and You know the you remember. We all had that moment where we're talking about. Oh look at the chemistry and the trust that Dad Maury Hab with each other when when the against the eagles with the Grabbing the ear hole and in eighteen an audible into the go round right. You had that signature moment with Carol Owens and Tony Romo which was right off the ball. Romo saw T. O. And shouted his name is here on the broadcast. It goes Te'o and like guns to him and he grabs me runs any score a touchdown. That's what he does. This whole wing. Flap thing right. That was There was randy. Moss was the only receiver that you're better than tear allowance There arguably wasn't the tight end better that year than Jason witten young to that Louis Jason Win Today Point Whitten has the game in Detroit with fifteen catches which is sets the cowboys record. Witten has the game at home against Washington with the four touchdown receptions and nobody will ever and stuff right. Sorry Te'o has and nobody will ever convince me otherwise later that night on Sunday night. Football that Randy. Moss does not get four touchdowns. If not for TEO I. I will never ever believe anything else. I believe that. Yeah I went up and each other. Yeah one to leave. I've got to do it because Teo did earlier. Today I will never ever ever. There was a four game stretch. It was. Let's see here. They they had gotten there. Were five and now when they squared off against the Patriots or four five. They were coming over there by low so they beat. Buffalo and then they they lose to the Patriots they beat Minnesota head of the by right. And so you got the Minnesota game the bye week and then right after that. I think is Silly giants redskins giants Philly Redskins. You're right ever order Philly at New York Washington And in that four game stretch.

"Greatest teams in Dallas cowboys franchise. History that did not win the Super Bowl teams that ended their seasons shy and void of a parade of Confetti of a Lombardi trophy all in an effort and in fun sort of sense and figuring out which when the best is what is the Best Dallas cowboys team. That did not win the Super Bowl on Monday. We profile the nineteen eighty-four Dallas cowboys. Me Special Guest Papa Ocho Aka my dad Because we're going chronologically. You know when when we solicited feedback for this. We got a lot of responses but four really stood out in terms of The most responses we got the ninety four team the OH seventeen the two thousand fourteen team and of course to two thousand sixteen team and so there is some debate certainly whether these are the four best or not but they were the foremost common answers and so those are the four were rolling with and obviously though in chronologically with ninety four being on Monday today is Tuesday that means today we are discussing the two thousand and seven Dallas Cowboys special guests fan of the show. Nfl Network producer. Bobby belt joined and he had a fantastic conversation talking. It was really more of like an oral history of the seventeen and things that I'd forgotten things that I think. Bobby hit forgotten this. You know I've said it before and I say it in the conversation with Bobby. The fall of two thousand seven was my senior year of high school. I graduated high school in two thousand and eight and so this was speaking for me. Personally I know. We have some younger listeners. That are in college now obviously. I know we've got some older listeners. Maybe older than I was at that time for me personally. That was such a special year. Just such a magical time and you know I mean if you've if you've you know I know we have some high school kids listening and stuff but if you've graduated high school you've been a senior in high school you know that that's a really memorable of your life and to have this kind of go hand in hand with it And the way they want and you know and that was something that bobby and I kind of got into. It was just such such such fun. There were so many stories and in juicy things that happened to the two thousand seven cowboys. And it's a conversation that I think you're really going to enjoy tomorrow on Wednesday. We will profile. "You know as mentioned we're taking this thing chronologically We're going in order and so Not to sort of answer the question on Monday but I think it. I think it's very fair to say that this is probably the best Dallas cowboys team. That did not win the Super Bowl. Honestly nine hundred seventy it might be number two even though we're not really exploring them in depth and I think you know I hadn't thought about this when we kind of I were kicking this whole idea around. I hadn't thought about answering it this way. But if you ask yourself who's the best team in Dallas cowboys history? Write your answer. Although the seventy seventeen is a very fair answer your answers probably something to do with nine dynasty right like maybe you go ninety two ninety three again maybe you want to go ninety five you get on. Sanders on a team. That's fine if that's the best team in Dallas cowboys history. How is the team? That basically has that roster not the best team that didn't win the Super Bowl in terms of the ninety fourteen. That's that's that's what sells the team for me. That's the final sort of thing and so I mean at the end of today. At least I feel like the nineteen hundred. Forty might be the best team in cowboys history to not win the Super Bowl. So that sucks the nine hundred ninety four team. I'm I'm being with you. Demarco's answer on the blog on the boys. Instagram feed bummed me out. I was pretty bummed and again I'm excited to get to the two thousand fourteen team. That will be our Wednesday episode. I think that that team answers a different question because again. These are my thoughts on Monday. I don't believe that the two thousand fourteen dollars couch are the best team to not win. A Super Bowl in franchise history. I think that there probably I think that the two thousand four hundred team is the team. That didn't win a super bowl. That hurts me the most. If that makes sense it's a different answer you know because it's a different emotion because we all we all felt certain things and there was such a magical season when you when you sort of. Add the hindsight that we have even just six years later. I mean we've had this hindsight for a few years now but that was the closest that Tony Romo overcame. It eats at you in a different way and so I think we want to say it was the best team that didn't win the Super Bowl but again as mentioned that defense was off. You know and so it's hard to say. I think the way you may be at least the way I measure. These up is like if the two thousand fourteen guy was in ninety four cowboys from twenty s before played the ninety fourteen. Beats that team like forty two to twenty. I mean it's not good for the twenty fourteen cowboys at least but look. This can be a fun week and It's it's a fun week to kind of set us going into the draft and I know we're going to have some fun with it here on the Ocho. We're going to have some fun on all of our shows..

"That's it was going to come down to that for the third year in a row. Obviously everybody's aware and I think I think there's a lot to what makes it. You know maybe because you can categorize different ways like what's the best team in terms of like which team had the most talented Or what's the most painful year in? The cowboys didn't win the Super Bowl. I didn't part of it is like is the story of it all and living through it and I mean you certainly you know you live through the catch you know a decade and change before and so there's this rich history in between those two teams and this again foregone conclusion and the fact that it comes to be and it's his third straight title game. I mean so. That's a really really really bitter pill to swallow to lose that team in particular does does that kind of add to it for you or that part his independent. Well that part of it is is Also you know as I'm saying a lot of the The components the ingredients that lead up to it You know certainly the The fact that The forty niners and the cowboys were the perennial teams not just in the NFC in my opinion but also in the AFC. I mean you know. They were the best teams in football. Which is why thing you know the cowboys certainly would have walked over the chargers as well and so you know a lot of people. I remember saying you know that the championship game the NFC championship game was actually the Super Bowl. Right and so yeah I mean you know. Those are part of the components The the added ingredients. I'm saying to what makes it You know such a You know mourning period for the cowboys that year. I I WANNA get into the talent specifically in a second but I think part of the reason too is you mentioned it. Felt like a slam dunk. Like I felt like we're just GONNA run this back or whatever. It's going to be three in a row and today I mean we've played you know what fifty four super bowl is and there's never been a team that won three of them in a row Which is you know kind of insane when you really think about how some teams if obviously cost but I think the perhaps the most bitter element to it is that the fact that the cowboys didn't is somewhat self induced. I still believe like I know that it really happened but I. I believe if that situation unfolded today you know where you know because I think you know media's obviously a lot bigger in two thousand twenty then it was in nineteen ninety four if the two-time reigning champion coach. Just you know parted ways from the team like that would be the biggest story in sports in and I'm not saying it wasn't but I mean that would overwhelm the world as we know it in in normal times obviously But but I guess you know the fact that Jerry and Jimmy obviously had their falling out And it's ironic. Were having this conversation the spring. That Jimmy Johnson's navin elected to the hall of fame. But is is that part of it for you to is that you know. It's not just that the cowboys loss to the forty niners. Instead the cowboys kind of shot themselves in the foot in some respects no I mean yeah. That's that's certainly a part of the difficult pill to swallow because you know again. This was a dynasty. You know like we hadn't seen in a number of years And I'm talking about cowboys fans. I think that You know the fact that the team was already in place in had taken a while to put it in place you know it. Involved all of the Intricacies of the Herschel Walker Trade and all of the great draft picks that have been made. And you know. We're gelling together at that time. He didn't have as much you know. Departures due to free agency. That I recall. It was just starting right like the salary. Cap Era in free agency was just doing exactly. And so you know you had basically the same nucleus and the second layer of and maybe even the third layer of the nucleus intact and so you know and most of these guys were still in their prime so you know again it that those are the things that that I'm talking about. When I say was was a slam dunk and when the Jimmy Johnson thing happened and And you know Barry Switzer hiring you know we felt like okay. Well you know I mean there was maybe a little bit truth. Or maybe a lot of truth to the fact when You know they said that anybody can come in and coach this team and take it twenty in the Super Bowl because we did feel like all. The components weren't place so so yeah the fact that You know a little bit of the Self-induced Demise was there also You know with with somewhat of a setback but you know it was thought amongst cowboys fans that you know. We could overcome that easily man. But a bit of a bummer. To kind of think about. But you're right like the talent a lot deeper Certainly than anywhere else around the NFL. At the time. I want you to guess. How many pro bowlers were onto ninety four cowboys man? I'm thinking maybe nine or ten would Would be where I would sit on that okay so looking at the NFC pro bowl roster the way the leading vote getter on the AFC side was New England. Patriots quarterback drew bledsoe Just seven seven years away from Tom. Brady's for super bowl but so troy Aikman Was a quarterback's that's one. Emmett is to Moose is three. Michael Irvin is four. Jay Novacek is five. Nate Newton Mark Step Naski Mark Tuinei. That's what eight that we've got just on offense and then on Defense Charles Haley Nine Leon Lett is ten and then on the Secondary Darren. Woodson is eleven. There were eleven pro bowlers on this team and they lost this game amazing. Yeah and eight of them on offense so yeah you essentially had the Almost a starting team for the pro bowl With the cowboys on offense it's unreal. I mean it really is and so that's just I mean. Pro Bowl is pro bowl. I mean again like Steve. Young's a pro baller Jerry Brent Jones. So it's not like Bardo it's not like the forty niners were shy of talent either but when you consider what the cow Ricky watters also the other thing is when you look at how many hall of Famers Okay. So you've got the triplets right? That's three if you want to count Jerry amount of why you wouldn't but that's four Charles. Haley is five. That's your fourth player. And he's not a pro bowler on this team in nineteen ninety four. But I don't know if you recall this nine hundred ninety. Four Larry Allen's rookie year for the cowboys. So that's another hall of Famers who got four hall of famers on Offense Charles Haley on defense at five and then currently not a hall of Famer. I think we both believe should be hall of Fame Darren Woodson. Who at the very least is a ring of honor member? I mean you're talking about you know potentially at one point in time you've got six hall of famers on this team and you lose the game now lady. Who's the game but you blow twenty one points in the opening minutes and the hall of fame owner and Hall of fame coach to well. No you're missing the hall of fame coach. That's the thing you know like. That's that's the guy that built the team right. Yeah exactly I mean you're building in the eyes of this hall of Famer But I mean it's just you know that you're missing to your point. Perhaps the most important hall of Famer in Jimmy Johnson. Oh for what? It's worth if you want to count this as a pro bowler by the way The head coach of the NFC pro bowl roster Barry Switzer so I mean you technically have a You know a pro bowl coach for what it's worth by the way. This is not related to the ninety four hours. But do you want to guess who the coach was the ninety? Four proble Wow now goes ways. Back Bill Cower. So we're talking the pro bowl after the ninety four season features. The super bowl coaches like. It's prophetic in that way. Because these two will all right That's kind of interesting. I don't know how many times that's ever happened now that I think about it. Hey Guy is going to get back to talking to the nineteen ninety-four Dallas cowboys in just a second. But before we do a quick break dear award from our sponsors welcome back everybody. Let'S GET BACK TO PAPA. Ocho right here on the Ocho but but yeah so. I mean this in all the responses that we got when we asked us on all the block on the boys platforms. A lot of people said ninety four. A lot of people said two thousand seven. A lot of people said two thousand fourteen. A lot of people said two thousand sixteen. You had another one that you wanted to talk about too though right. Not The ninety four I was. Yeah I know maybe I go back a little further than you know. Maybe the majority of fan base right now but Yeah I was thinking to seventy eight cowboys We were talking about Hall of Famers in Pro Bowlers. Will you know between the cowboys and steelers of that Super Bowl they had I think? Thirteen or fourteen eventual hall of Famers Between the two rosters and that was that was an incredible game. That was You know obviously Stock versus Bradshaw you know you had Just some some of the greater names and pro football history in that game. Franco Harris. Bradshaw Swan You had Tony Dorsett. You had Roger Staubach. I mean you had drew Pearson amies not a hall of Famer but still you know it'd be. Yeah he should be but I mean you know just a collection of outstanding talent on on that year as well to that point that game actually just got a new hall of Famer in Captain Crash Cliff Harris. Part of the two thousand twenty hall of Fame Class but so that game. I've said this before. That's maybe the greatest overall collection of talent that a single. Nfl game has ever seen And you know this is for our younger listeners. This is the Jackie Smith. Drop If you want to you know go relive that I mean that's up to you I don't know why you want to do that. But I mean that one of the more painful moments certainly in in Dallas cowboys history but But so you've got you also had you know the and we just talked the offensive side of the ball there but that's when he had mean Joe Greene and Company and Pittsburgh and the Doomsday Defense in Dallas. So I mean it was. It was just amazing. You know there was another great team. That should have won that game while to that point. So these these are just the cowboys hall of famers. All right and this is I mean again. Roger Staubach Tony set. That's too you could. I mean I don't WanNa see you can. Canham is half but drew Pearson should be in Again not a hall of Famer Tony Hill of the thrill very very very good Rayfield Wright it's your third hall of Famer on offense on defense again. I mean just this. Too Tall Jones is in on this defense randy White Harvey Martin again. I'm getting away from hall of famers necessarily. Dd Lewis. Charlie waters again cliff. Harris has mentioned. You're right Pittsburgh I mean these are these are the names on the steelers in this game Terry Bradshaw Rocky Bleier Franco Harris Lynn..

"Safe healthy practicing social distancing and following all guidelines and protocols as given to us by our world leaders so that we can get through this thing sooner rather than later. It was a great weekend for me. My family obviously my wife and I and our our dog abair. We are practicing social. Distancing didn't go anywhere Had Our celebration and spent some great time watching the two thousand and four masters on Saturday and the two thousand nineteen masters on Sunday and very pumped to have those on the DVR. For the rest of time. I don't care whatever happens to me. In my cable provider life never letting those go ever so good luck planners away from me so that was great and. I hope you had some some fun times with your family. You know your loved ones your kids. Whoever you spent the time with Hopefully it was a great and I'm really excited for this week here on the show and it blog on the boys dot com. You know we've had some some great guests over the last three weeks or starting now. What will hopefully be our fourth week with nothing but guess every day for you and in talking to various people. Both cowboys cowboys related. We've learned a lot of things we've had some great conversations we've learned about some certain players and a former cowboys player. And you know we talk to people outside of the NFL world. You know. We've talked to somebody from another. Nfl team we've just learned a lot. And I've really enjoyed kind of having those conversations and appreciate all the feedback. Everyone has given in terms of the last few weeks and hopefully are going to keep having that same level of fun but this week we're focusing on something very specific when it comes to the cowboys. This is theme week at SP nation and everyone's GonNa be looking back at the greatest teams in their franchise history. That did not win the Super Bowl. Now obviously the cowboys have won the Super Bowl five times. Nineteen seventy-one Seventy seven ninety two ninety three and ninety five. The cowboys lost three super bowls. There are plenty of great cowboys teams. That didn't even make to a super bowl. And so this is fascinating. And so I'm really really really pumped to dive into this and do it with some people that I think will offer some interesting insight and I tweeted this out on Sunday and just kind of open generic statement. You know who's the Best Dallas Cowboys team? That didn't win the Super Bowl and got a lot of responses on twitter and on instagram and on facebook and even had some people text me and offer their two cents in there are there are answers. That are more common than others right. I think we all tend to think of certain teams right. There's you can make an argument teams right and ultimately there are a handful really really really come to mind and so those are teams that we're going to be focusing on this week every day here on the. Ocho we're going to profile discuss one team in particular in Dallas cowboys history. That did not win the Super Bowl. We're going to cover. What you know are kind of the four. Most common answers for this question while also sprinkling in some teams that deserve some love as well. You know. Look we're limiting this four. You can't there's more than four teams in cowboys history. That we're very good. That didn't win the Super Bowl and we're going to go in chronological order and so of all the responses that we got the four most common where the nineteen eighty-four Dallas cowboys who lost the NFC championship game to the San Francisco. Forty niners that went on to win the Super Bowl. The two thousand seven Dallas Cowboys that lost in the division around to the New York giants that went on to win the Super Bowl. In fact they replayed Super Bowl. Forty two over the weekend where they beat the undefeated and officially not undefeated. New England Patriots. There's also the two thousand fourteen Dallas Cowboys which is an interesting answer. And we'll get to that as the week sort of unfolds who lost in the division around on the road at Lambeau field the Green Bay packers when Dez Bryant absolutely cut it and there is the two thousand Sixteen Dallas cowboys who also loss in the divisional round of the Green Bay packers although not on the road but at home at. At and T. Stadium in the first playoff game of the Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott era. Again you can make a case for a lot of teams. There's a lotta great couch teams over the course of cowboys history and we'll sprinkle those in as mentioned because we definitely want to cover them all. But these are the four that we're going to profile the most heavily the most deeply and explore in interesting ways. And so I've said before you know my cowboys fandom cowboys fan my whole life and I owe that to my dad. You know like a lot of people. That's how I sort of fell in love with the team and fell in love with sports and fell in love golf and things like that and so my dad and I love the cowboys in my dad's been on the show a lot. He's on this episode. And I thought it was. You know I thought it would be. Interestingly talked to him about the ninety four cowboys. Because you know somebody who who lived life at a different place than than at least. I did an ninety four. Maybe you did in nineteen ninety four and so we were getting the week started with Papa. Ocho people have been asking for him. Appreciate everybody asking for him. I know he does. But you know hey younger. Ocho is cool to. Let's just let's just you know. Let's let's make sure we all know that we all agree with that but in all seriousness very excited for you to hear the conversation that we had and in fact we were talking and kind of getting ready to do this the team that he also wanted to sprinkle in was the seventy eight Dallas cowboys. The nineteen seventy team that lost super bowl thirteen. And I've said before I kind of believe although I might feel differently about this now but you can make an argument that super super bowl thirteen is the greatest game ever played in. Nfl history from the perspective of talent on the field in one particular game. That's a subject that my dad and I got into so so. Yeah so let's go ahead and do it. I mean this is GonNa be fine. It's GONNA be painful it's GonNa make us cry and ultimately. I think we're going to have a good time and and hopefully we We all come out of this thing. You know loving the cowboys a little bit more. So go ahead and get to at my Dad Papa. Oh joins US next right here on the? Oj Am pleased to be joined by a very special guest? You know him you love him. The one the only the internationally famous my dad himself Papa. Oh Joe my best friend. What's going on my dude? Hey what's going on just fine here about you. I'm well. I think this is the first time you've been on since the quarantine happened across the world. So how's everything at home? It's good You know we're just trying to make the best of it the way the rest of the country is and You know learning some New ways of cooking new ways of just staying active within your own home so yeah I mean it's been. It's been an interesting experience and something that I feel needed to be done. So yeah we're good to go my My phone is full of photos of the meals. The union have cooked. What has been the one enjoyed? The most odd may sound a little basic but I mean it is something I I really like and that's homemade burgers and You know I've just tried just tried a few little things and quirks and changes and tweaks on what I've used to What I used to do before and so you know now. I'm getting better at it. So yeah just homemade burgers They're the best it's fast. It's easy it's quick and you know you can change it up a bit and none of them are bad You know obviously you know. I've had these before but you have a dish in the Burger family. That is pretty well known burger dogs. You haven't haven't gone down that rabbit hole in the middle of all this. No we didn't do that Because we've been kind of You know using the traditional Patty type Shape but now. I Love Burger dogs as well. It's really same concept everything that you know the tweaks I'm talking about has been within the meat so you know whether it's Rounds shape or rectangular shape Certainly doesn't make a difference. It can certainly but yeah. Burger dogs are are the bomb for anybody who didn't connect to into a burger. Dog is literally just hamburger shaped like a hot dog and you eat a hot dog on and it sounds like it's not that big of a deal but it is trust us so hopefully you get a chance to have some dogs maybe will Be Able to go down that avenue here shortly So it is theme week across espionage and the this week is kind of Greatest teams that never really were in each franchise history and obviously blocking the boys. We cover the cowboys. And you and I love the cowboys and unfortunately there are a lot of options when you start to consider the greatest Dallas cowboys teams. That did not win the Super Bowl. I tweeted about this on Sunday by the way we're recording on Sunday evenings so happy Easter to you. Mom and I you know there was a lot of responses. I think you know it was all like. There's a majority of responses in particular directions and what team jumps to the front of your mind when you think greatest cowboys teams. That didn't get Lombardi trophy. Well you know. For a number reasons I think the Ninety four cowboys is probably the one that jumps because it jumps right to the front because that was like a slam dunk it. Was You know a team that it was already you know superbowl caliber already? Super Bowl winners And then eventually came back on the following year. So you know all you have to do is just you know. Extend that consistency with that continuity one more year and and then you know I think that the The opponent and in that Super Bowl also made a somewhat of a slam dunk so that. Yeah the chargers I mean you know it virtually A lot of teams could have beat the chargers. And you know Ford. The forty niners walloped over them. So you know I think that for those reasons You know what I what I think. I would assume that a lot of people including myself the probably highlight that team as the most likely to have one one And they should have one that You know obviously They didn't get there because they lost the the champ the NFC championship game. But yeah I mean that was an incredible team like I said it was already superbowl caliber. number of hall of fame players on there. So yeah I mean I I think that's what jumps to the forefront me so one of my favorite. Nfl films sound bytes. All time has to do with the nineteen ninety four season and it sucks because it comes at the expense of the cowboys but Steve Young in the Americas game that chronicles the ninety four niners. He talks about how that team he says. We showed up to training camp to beat the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC championship. And I just I love that. I love that it was this. Foregone conclusion that the cowboys in forty niners. The season didn't even matter. You know what I mean..

Don't look at it from like a calendar your perspective we were looking at it. We were saying well. March two thousand nine hundred this happened. Then April twenty nine thousand. We got a little puppy bear. Who's turned into a dog? bears There's a little pup and We're very happy to have him be part of our home but very happy that you make blogging. The boys A part of your cowboys. Experience The week is already off to an interesting start regarding. America's team and full disclosure reporting this on Monday evening about six PM. That's always necessary when it comes to this time of year because everything is fluid everything is changing sometimes something POPs up. Sometimes you know whatever and for what it's worth we let you know this all the time. If a big enough thing happens you can bet your bottom dollar that we will jump on. We will get an emergency episode of the Ocho as soon as we can again if the event warns it so if a particular Dallas cowboys signs you know with the team we did get a signing by the way on Monday. Going to get to that in a little bit. We'll Jim Bob will have an episode kind of analyze that and talk about that and then we'll have a lot more stuff everywhere mixture kind of course blocking the boys dot com follow us on twitter blog on the boys instagram blogging. Dot The boys and go like us on facebook you can get access to all of our content in all of those places but last Monday march second that was we talked about this on Mondays episode last Monday. Espn reported the cowboys. Offer to Dak Prescott. This was the Monday after the combine was about thirty three million dollars per year. Now we've talked about this ad nauseam but that does not necessarily put Dak Prescott among the top paid quarterbacks in the position of obviously puts them near the top. But not in the top. Three if you care about that if that's important to you. I know it is not to a lot of you on Friday last Friday just half a week ago. The Dallas Morning News reported that contract offer included one hundred five million dollars guaranteed that is also outside of the top three when it comes to quarterback now had a fantastic listener respond This on Sunday evening as I was watching the Galaxy Union game. It was interesting but obviously this is all new money. This isn't a case to do with Jared Goff or Carson Wentz where those are extensions are all new money figures as Dak Prescott is currently not under contract with the Dallas cowboys that is important to note however even though it is more new money it is not necessarily something that puts him on par with his peers which is in terms of the market in terms of Business terms and financial values. That is an important thing anyway. So this past Monday yesterday on March ninth. Espn reported again. Espn's Todd Archer about the thirty three million dollar figure we wrote about this for you. Log ONTO DOT com. So you'RE GONNA head on over there and read it. Here is what Todd Archer wrote with the franchise. Tag deadline coming Thursday. That's this Thursday. By the way we'll get to that in a second. The cowboys have sent a new proposal to the agent of Dak Prescott in hopes of kickstarting talks on a multi year. Deal according to a source. Russell Wilson and Ben Rothlisberger have the highest average salaries followed by Aaron Rodgers. Jared Goff the cowboys. New proposal would likely at least be in the Rogers. Golf neighborhood if not more since Prescott side turned down thirty three million dollars. Now look at this. And these are the top five quarterbacks in terms of annual average. This is how much money they are paid per year. All of these figures are courtesy of over the CAP DOT COM. The best source for salary information when it comes to the National Football League. Russell Wilson leads the way thirty five million dollars per year for the Seattle Seahawks quarterback super bowl winning seahawks quarterback minds. You live people believe that to be an important factor here Ben Rothlisberger who missed the majority of last season is number two on that list. Thirty four million dollars per year for Big Ben Aaron Rodgers and Jared Goff both calbears by the way shot into my puppy bear. Incidentally both tie for third with thirty three and a half million dollars per year thirty three point five million dollars per year. Philadelphia's Carson Wentz. I mentioned the Union is a union of the Seoul. I already forgot but either way I watched a soccer match. You get my point on Sunday night between La in Philadelphia. It was a three three draw with great but anyway Carson Wentz is fifth on that list technically four. If you count the tie for third at thirty two million dollars per year now. You might have heard that again Russell. One thirty five Ben is to at thirty four Rogers and Gov tied for thirty three and a half Carson at thirty two now the offer Dak Prescott is reportedly thirty three million dollars per year. And I know I know I know. I know that. That's a lot of money but it is low. It is low. The reality is that that is low. Imagine if you were selling a car right I mean people come up with all sorts of analogies this time of year but imagine if you were selling a car and the market rate for that car other cars with that mileage. If it was a used car you know it was that age. How if you're selling a twenty seventeen? Whatever I dunno makeup making model and everything was kind of the same mileage and I know that the mileage argument is different because Russell Wilson and Ben Rothlisberger a better conditions. They want super bowls. And Aaron. Rodgers to blah blah. The point is if you're looking at the market and somebody offered you much less than the going rate. You would balk at that right. You would say no way not going to sell you this for less than the going rate. And that's the issue here with that press now. It is worth mentioning in Todd. Archers report that the last thing of it says the cowboys new proposal would likely at least be the Rogers and Goth neighborhood if not more since. Prescott side turned down thirty. Three million are so the original report when it comes all this over the last eight days or so was that it was at thirty three million dollars per year so todd archer to report or to speculate. I should say that the new proposal would likely at least be in the Rodgers and golf neighborhood. That neighborhood is thirty. Three and a half million dollars per year so that means conceivably the Dallas cowboys have climbed a whole half a million dollars on their contract offer. That ain't going to get it done. I mean I hate to be dramatic and I hate to sort of frame it that way but if your offer is thirty three and you say you war as down all right did you win. Awry deck will come up to thirty three and a half. That ain't going to get it done. And what's more this contract? We've talked about this before to the cowboys. Usually do at least five year extensions with their core nucleus sort of cornerstone players. Tyrants Miss Zack. Martin Zeke Elliott demarcus Lawrence. Made everybody that is a core player. Does Brian guys extension. They're all at the very least five extensions so if we're to assume right and now this is an assumption that it's a five year extension. The cowboys are proposing it act Prescott and they opted half a mill. That's two and a half million dollars more. They added onto the life of the overall contract. That is not enough cheese cheese. I got to play the NACHOS here. You don't come in just dribble a little bit of cheese. I WANNA whole slab cheese. Put the whole block of cheese on there and put it in the microwave for two minutes and let it melt all over. That's not enough and the cowboys seem to think that they can win this staredown with that. Prescott and that is just not going to happen. He has all of the leverage. And maybe there's incremental growth. Maybe the cowboys are prepared to come up to this. Maybe prepared to go up to that now. I will say if the cowboys climbed to thirty four million dollars. That isn't maybe I don't know it's hard to determine what's fair what's now because all ultimately is up to Dak Prescott and his team but if the cowboys are up to thirty four million dollars on an annual average value basis and they top jared. Goff's guarantees because remember the guarantee here is important in terms of total guaranteed money. Jared Goff has made the most of all quarterbacks one hundred and ten million dollars total guaranteed Carson. Wentz got one hundred seven point nine. Russell Wilson got one hundred and seven Matt Ryan. One hundred years ago Aaron Rodgers. Got Ninety. Eight point two. If you're telling me if I'm Dak Prescott hypothetically and you say look we're going to offer you thirty four million dollars period we know. That's only half a million more per season. Jarod Goff but you're technically beating right. We're technically giving you the going rate and we're going to give you more in total guarantees. That's fair that's a fair meeting in the middle that's a fair market rate. That's a fair going rate. That's a fair approximate value. Whatever verbiage whatever financial jargon WANNA toss on it that is fair if that's the offer. I think that's fair. Are Joe Things? That's fair but what do you think you're going to be? No you can tweet at me follow me. Let me know on twitter instagram. At our job show on both you can also email me. Rg DOT NATION DOT COM. But we got a whole lot of other stuff to get into it and we got some stuff about the NFL PA and whatnot and dates and whatnot. Who got to make sure that you understand everything? That's going on this week because this week. Not to be dramatic. This week is going to drastically shape the next decade of the National Football League. We'll be back with more. "The only projects on the Internet counts? I am one of your host Jesse Jackson. Today we have junior mob Scotland to do and we are Scotland. Now we don't know for how long he may make a surprise shocking appearance at some point in the middle of the ticket. Drop with the opening and closing studio back. You so you know. We're all about being timely. Here you can count on a new episode every week from us. That was that forty seven months ago so in that spirit. Like are the cowboys. Ever GonNa get ready Jason Garrett predicts not only will they get rid of him but they will hire former packer coach. Mike McCarthy order your first. How shot shoe shops? You yes as record this as February eighth. It is the Saturday after the Super Bowl and he did want to talk a few minutes about the cowboys. So the less said about our last season better. very disappointing season. All around. I don't think of it that way. I feel this may have been the most productive season in the last ten years because it actually brought about change. That was probably warranted five years ago. That's a good week finally got around more to doing the one thing that would move this franchise forward five years too late but now can actually turn the page and look forward to a writer feature if if Garrett was coming back next season I would have the same hopelessness that I felt for the last ten ten years so I think this is a good thing for Isis. Planning offering myself and put a bullet in it. I liked juniors take because other than that. You can't look at the season as anything but just a crushing disappointment. But he's right. I mean it's one of those things where you finally got what you've been needing for a long time because up to now. Eight eight wasn't bad enough for Jerry to take action and Steven. It's still actually bucked. The trend because we didn't have a losing season and yet we were forced. Our hand was forced to do something about it. I thought for sure Jerry was just going to stay. Stay the course. It's quite possible that Stephen put Jerry and headlock. You know against your take on it. It just seems like another wasted season and yes already is a successful off season because we change but just when I look at football season you just get a sixteen game goal and just it was. Ota wasted opportunity because the NFC east has never been worse the NFC is a hole. The weren't really any unbeatable. Transcendent San Francisco is very good. There were a couple of good teams. But there was there for the taking. You know it wasn't like last year with the rams were juggernaut. Taking is the way it is. You look at the cowboys wins in the nineties and those were against stack. Nfc East's different. Chris and I were watching the NFC championship game. He just looked at me and said you know we're we're not anywhere close to forty niners but I do think that if things click competitive because APEC district because I think we are. I think the margin of error between eight and eight twelve and four in the NFL period but probably specifically this year in the NFC is just not that great. You know you watch the Games and you'll watch teams that finish date. Nate beating teams that finished. Unisex twelve for whatever. And you know. It's just little things and for us to be as incredibly poorly coached as we were or maybe as incredibly mediocre who coached as we were to be that and still end up eight nate with a realistic shot at nine and seven. Ten and six. And you have to think. There's no way you get there without just having straight up town on the field while bolger weighed almost making the playoffs. In spite of the fact that you get zero out of your countries I mean just the different kicker alone. We were talking about this earlier. Could've put us in the playoffs? You're very easily this year that they were terrible. In one score games they were like one in six thousand seven last year. They couldn't went. Couldn't lose the one scoring and this year they could win one so a lot ass kicking lots coaching. Now I for one will be sad not to see. Maher lineup anymore because I was really enjoying seventy or Netherland it from three. That is worn bad..

"Welcome back. Euro art show seven five Mr. two time SuperBowl champion Tony could see us in. Tony. We are appropriately named the seven five because the Dallas Cowboys are seven and five my friend. How Ronald is that. I mean, we could not plan that any better we should've named ourselves the sixteen in honestly to to help the Cowboys second RJ, let's let's not get carried away because four weeks ago. We're like ready to bury this team and now four straight win enforce straighten role. And then the big match up this week hit versus the eagles. Let's just kinda kinda keep it there. But I I love your your heads go on. And I like that about you. You're the king of the irony of the show. Hey, you know, I'm the irony. You're the Super Bowl champion. That's the way it works. And speaking of before we really dive in on everything that happened were talking after the Cowboys beat the New Orleans Saints, and that night was so awesome. And it got started with nineteen Ninety-three Super Bowl champion team. You guys being honored on the field about five minutes before? Kickoff tweeted some photos of you. That was great we shot a video with your teammates. What was that? Like, I gotta ask. Right. Oh, s I I wanna know. Well, you know, what I think every time you go back to something like that twenty five years. First of all this worse time gone. And it's been that long since we complice greatness as a team, and, you know, just Altima accomplishment and to get back in that setting. You know, we had it last year. And I think it's great Jerry does, you know, every twenty years while everybody most everybody's around this kinda in celebrate a monumental thing. And and again, it's always great to see guys that you did so much. With blood, sweat, and tears. You hear that all the cliche? But just the just everything that the intimacy that only you can share the elements of that. And I think that that was pretty cool in the guys that you haven't seen something as liberal here locally, and we see cross cross pass. But to be able to see in that setting in Bill to celebrate that now we'll say this. I did feel a little older it is it is twenty five years. So it kind of puts everything in perspective. But it's a it's a timeless and ageless accomplishment. And you know, what this look at like the Kevin Gauguin's. The Russell Maryland's the. James Washington's obviously, the triplets and everything that, you know, happen. It's just it's just it's a magical night and the top at all that the cherry on top the just that display of dominant dominance over a team like the saints, and then not be remiss about it mentioned the induction gillibrand to the ring of honor. And you just couldn't ask for better nine made. It was tremendous tremendous experience. I I loved CNN. It was so great. You mentioned all the guys that were there. I think it was really cool to see not just former players but Martinez wife. She's well chronicled in the great wall of Dallas football episodes. So cool. She was so just just from my perspective. She was so graceful in the moment, it was just an awesome moment. To celebrate. What people love about the Dallas Cowboys. So it's really cool to see when I gotta ask. When was the last time you had slipped on the seven five, you know, because..

"You very much. What are we this year? Twenty seven of very young sixteen very, very well. Indeed. Congratulations. That's awesome. That's all landmark achievements. Thank the Lord, feel blessed and glad to be here. So is a great day. We had a great weekend here, CASA Di Ocho, which is why the shows a little bit weird. We like to do show us from here at the bar so to speak. And we're going to little bit later. It's halftime football giants losing shocker, but we'll be back to normal getting kind of back to the normal swing of things later this week. We'll have another episode of the seven. Five, oh, Tony, Casillas on Wednesday. Again, this this week is well. Weird is the by weeks after we start, but the Dallas compass guy, you'll birthday present, man, the Dallas Cowboys. Got you. A brand new wide receiver. Amari Cooper, initial thoughts, initial thoughts, your thoughts on Twitter? Periscope, in the ball of the boy's face mcglinchey a like it eastbound. My fantasy team celeb- means I liked him for some time. I really thought that he was a fast receiver, two time pro bowler. You know, certainly, I think if the Cowboys were thinking about getting the wide receiver with their number one pig next year on next year's draft. I mean, I don't think that you can go into that draft thinking that they're going to beat somebody better or get somebody better than Amari Cooper. That's a great way to go. It's a fantastic move. I think to get him now take advantage of him now. You know, you're only seven games into the season this year? Yeah. I like the move for the player. I like Amari Cooper. There's really a lot to like it's hard to swallow the first round pick with you. I agree with everybody. It's really hard to swallow. It doesn't. It's not. It's not easy to swallow, but I think you can understand the logic when you frame it the way you just well, if you had committed the going to have to receiver with your first round pick next year, which is. I don't say a finite way to look at things, but it's been, it's been a tunnel vision for being honest..

"I am aren't get under straighten of real quick and i thought to myself i don't hear that very often from a grandfather and and bill laughed and trust me you don't have to worry about that i've been doing that already for three or four months uh so i'm we jason whitney the dallas cowboys jason in the last few years has been a lot of a lot of research in there continues to be a lot of research about football and particularly about ct in what it does to the brain and i wonder you've played as we are speaking today two hundred forty games in the national football league you at a distinguished college career at tennessee you played in high school and so you've taken a lotta blows to the head how much does it occurred to you or how much does a concern you uh oh what your life might be like when you're fifty five or sixty years old rival were continue to learn more and more from it and uh you know i think it's a different game than it was thirty years ago forty years ago and a rental our league is working really hard both the players and coaches in and just with our rules committee to make it a safer game and you know we we all make choices to go out there and i mean i i love this game an opportunity i i'm confident that it's a safe game and we need to continue to evolve and use the education and technology and what we have to further our game in in m make it more and more safe.
