"Let me know on this Wednesday night on ESPN one thousand V. S. PH battle after we walk around ski from ESPN about what's going on with the NBA so his latest tweets says that N. B. A.'s hopeful that twenty two of the thirty franchises will have to sell these open for voluntary workouts by Monday art goes on to say Adam silver the commissioner of the NBA told those on the NBA's board of governors call on Tuesday that if a positive test would shut us down we probably shouldn't go down this path in Seoul this is more of a wide ranging conversation about the UFC what Dana white in Dale Weise someone who's just trying to jam his events and he's got a vent that's happening tonight if I have as many events as possible they had their UFC show we reap we reviewed with the rate floors on our Monday showings on the archives of the ESPN Chicago outlook from the hood and raid broke down UFC two forty nine and again as are the vent taking place now do you know why couldn't care less about the scope in nineteen as far as trying to get his offense on and so we had one in Jacksonville there were three people that came out cold at nineteen one of is fighters into the caravan that's already asking a plus he was like okay what we are courting them but the events still going on and so for me to be a standpoint I don't know if they look at the U. of C. as a business model saying if a player has called in nineteen do we shut down the league like we did before with regal bearing others and Donna Mitchell that's something that has to be considered if the NBA wants to be able to have the vents and again to me you start the playoffs you don't resume the rest of the regular season that's done they like no one's coming back to be a separate seating Easter west so start with the playoffs and so it'll be interesting to see how these other sports we'll look at something because it's it's inevitable right because this spread just continues someone in the building a worker or a ball player has called in nineteen what do you do do you just Cortina person just keep it movin or do you shut down the league and this is something that's on the table for sure some thoughts now from Marc spears mark spears from the undefeated I was on talking about this whole pandemic and what the NBA could do Marc spears our first take your take you said that everyone may not want to come back to the NBA so it'll be interesting to see if some players don't want to do it like I can only imagine what Karl Anthony towns you're going to now be devastated he lost his mom you think you want to play basketball I mean I don't know maybe looking scary for him I can't speak for him but I wouldn't be surprised if you're not a hundred percent that everybody wants to go back so this is a correlation to our Major League Baseball conversation that we had a couple of hours ago about how old it makes MLB players may feel about trying to return if you are a player that's making the top dollar somewhere in the middle of it or to the bottom and you know that if the start of the playoffs your goal you may not get your full income that's another thing to you may not get your full check it's it's going to be less than the person fifteen tech that they're used to but there are some that are really afraid this Kobe nineteen and I want to be infected with it is if it is you heard spirit talk about what's going on with crime the town's missing you know losing his mother because a cove in nineteen all right some players are gonna look at that and say well I'm not going to return until I know that there is a cure or the yeah I know that we're gonna be safe spears believes that he doesn't think the entire NBA will return home clean soon but I also found good right now but there's just too many yes to many potential tragedies the fate palace the paintball gun this is somebody people knocking each over each other over taking charges are there I think it would be smarter to put the energy toward starting next season as late as possible fan could be involved then there's more no more education on how to get out of B. division and actually maybe allow other our lives to be to get a page to help them be a interesting R. and one model that we have heard is that the NBA would just shut down for the rest of this season and come back in December welcome back around Christmas or January of next year who knows as we talk about this here on ESPN one thousand yes paean Chicago out Brian Windhorst was on SportsCenter and he gave his thoughts are with S. V. P. about our players and owners trying to return last night the players union sent a memo to all the league's agents within that they said that they feel that both the legal owners and the players based on their field do you want to return to play and so I will say that over the last seven or eight or ten days there's been a quickening of that within the NBA there's definitely traction heading in that direction it may have been influenced by the fact that the soccer leagues in Europe or restarting it may have been influenced by the fact that the U. of C. as we started in the baseball is making moves in that direction but the big thing for the NBA and what they have to work out amongst everybody is risk tolerance what is your level of risk tolerance going to be and that's why they are not a hundred percent sure anything's going to happen yet I've got no war years in Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game finals game on in the studio right here and it's like you know I still have those that feeling of the NBA but once again like all of our sports when they're ready to come back they will return Tyler I saw this from the of the athletic dot com's wanna get your thoughts this is a story from the athletic about average ticket prices during this call may nineteen for the NFL average of prices on the secondary market for NFL games since the schedule came out last Thursday R. three hundred ninety one dollars which is a fifty one percent from twenty nineteen with only four teams down patriots lions Chargers and bears so I look at them the average ticket price and it is amazing I guess cove in nineteen or.

"Year number to call Leon rose has been officially announced by the next by by all reports he's going to take over as Knicks president worldwide real Wes is also coming along well with him two guys its C. A. A. and Leon is obviously been an impactful agent in the NBA and representing a ton of star players that that was the apple the I. James Dolan now we cell hope and change once again yeah it cut it you know I think it's great I I really do I I know that it's it's a big unknown but it's the kind of unknown that I think we could do the ceiling on this higher on to talk about it like it's a player the ceiling on this higher is so high to me that the stakes are obviously incredibly high for the guard but that that the where this could go with Leon rose with worldwide Wes I mean I I think that is so appealing as opposed to if you're not going to get a jury if you can't get Sam Presti think about the other people who you'd be kind of going after to me it's going to be someone is gonna be very Scott Perry ask because you work long enough in this league you're gonna have a lot of hits in a lot of Mrs and when Scott Perry was hired I didn't understand what was the great you know and an appealing thing about Scott Perry okay he was in the front office with the Detroit Pistons when they won a championship gonna be honest like Joe Dumars gets a lot of that credit I don't know what's got Perry was doing there I don't know what specifically you know he influence in what move he made was he you know the finishing piece on Rasheed Wallace was he were Pendleton at the time I did it was great what he did in Orlando I mean really and they are bringing back all these Orlando people to the next his draft picks Mario hezonja Elfrid Payton and and I do love that go to Sacramento wasn't there for very long it's like congradulations you sign Zac Randolph who end up getting like arrested with like five pounds of wheat or whatever on it and like Vince Carter or a who is there for a second what is it the other way I mean it does have to be Scott Perry I mean it but there there was a bad higher I don't disagree with you I wasn't exactly enamored when they make that higher and you ran through you're going to bring in like one of these guys who listen no offense to those guys they've been around for a long time like after you were getting to jury in Presti like there was a little bit of a drop off right but unless you're gonna go with an unknown okay but let me ask you a easy the what it would have been more is it Leon rose going to be there in June or July I mean these hello that you don't feel right now the after is why the rush why why the need to get a president in and make this higher now why not extend into are making changes well why not export it but if you look at the possibility of trying to get missile you Jerry from Toronto or say Sam Presti from Oklahoma City and those are two executives that are under contract for those respective organizations don't you think I mean as an organization does to establish press along island guy missile you Gerry with the Knicks have who don't want to hire a couple years ago Donia explore those conversations before was anyone really kicking down the door to hire out on roads are so we don't know if maybe those conversations were happening and maybe they were knew that they were not starters that's possible no idea but it's possible the other part of this is it we're talking with Ryan McDonagh before former GM of the of the Phoenix Suns and he speculated the Knicks have like hundreds of people working for them right this is your taking over a massive operation here they lead this team and one that needs so much work if I feel like Leon roses my guy I'm getting a bit is the door as soon as possible yeah he has to evaluate the roster down the back half of the stretch he owed by the back stretch of the season part me he's got to figure out who it figure out you know and watch the people working in season how are you doing your job are you good at your job you know and have enough lead time here before the draft for everyone's in place as opposed to leaving it for the summer when you know you got the the the those combine and you have the draft all happening like in June and everything would be really sped up I like getting a place as soon as possible a lot of work but I I like the idea of having exploratory conversation with two executives they've done it before and I've had success and a bill winning programs and wanted Oklahoma City and one in Toronto one beat all along island even another guy that's done in two spots in Denver and Toronto missile you Jerry wouldn't I mean and maybe they had back channel conversations maybe that makes them want to give up what what they thought was going to be two first round draft choices you know I referenced something I I read a about four five months ago about same price the that he bought you know he basically was quoted saying the the relationship or the belief was that price the at such a good relationship with the owners out Oklahoma City that if he went to them and said I want to take on a new challenge that they might even just let him go you know Allen's organization you don't even have those conversations though I get that the idea of getting somebody in place but there did there need to be the rush yeah obviously target Leon rose is B. and the guy for this team because he made the higher I think one thing about Sam Presti that would have been a challenge for him what has been the media in Oklahoma City that is not an issue in the way that it is here they are able to operate with not a lot of people really snooping around in their business there are an organization that notoriously is very close off to the media and I think in New York you have to have a little bit of a different view of the media if you're going to have a good relationship like I think Brian Cashman is probably one of the best relationships with the media he's been doing it for a long time kind of gets it right that the media can be your friend right and at some point you're gonna have to have an adversarial relationship but other points it can really help you get your point across in the way you treat the media is an extension we are what the fans are going to hear about your organization and I think that would have been a bit of an obstacle for prestige maybe I mean you're you you might be right about that but I don't know what Leon rose is going to be it's different when you're an agent handle employers talk in the media and obviously Ryan McDonough spoke of a glowing relationship with Leon rose and that's one former GM so I imagine you know he can play the game as very good relationships with general managers across the league that's one thing handle in the media and hate being criticized if you move does not go right you make a bad hire you make a bad trade here in the blue whatever it might be here yet that's a different ballgame as compared to coming over from being an agent James is in Farmingdale New York Jimmy Hey I love the show James Hey now you just I have to disagree with a couple of points you made you mention that it's all about relationships we've been down that road Davis St Dallas you know the out of the box fire with their network jacking we need someone in place that started before not someone who comes from a different trade and is trying to parlay that into something else it's just in this city in this town after twenty years we need someone that I can do it you know don Nelson was someone that had done it before he was successful in we've got away from that all right up the ledges yes yeah the one thing funny because don Nelson did or care yeah the the funny thing about physical so I actually did not like the higher at the time because I said if you feel like you're gonna hire David fizz Dale and he's going to attract free agents I think that's faulty logic and the reason why I said that is because David fizz they'll I had a good relationships with certain superstars he had great relationships with the guys in Miami lebron D. Wade and Chris bosh carries a lot of weight absolutely did not have a great relationship with Marcus all right not have a great relationship with some of his other players in Memphis so to me that wasn't just having a good relationship with lebron it's almost like how all those coaches got hired because they live work was Sean McVay like it just because you have a good relationship with the broad just because you may have worked with Sean McVay doesn't meet all of a sudden everything's going to translate to you right and all of a sudden just because they were spect those guys doesn't mean all of a sudden you get all the shine I love you if you were gonna hire fizz Dale you want to hire him because you thought that he was going to be able to develop the team which was developing young guys and also managing the egos made same thing here with Leon rose I'm making I'm not making the higher that all the sudden star players go to one of complete because of his relationships as an agent he isn't running a basketball team is entirely different bring in a coach they can develop young players finding talent drew going out there having your scouts all across the country finding is what they were Y. west does the college gave no star players in the college yeah I think it's out there watching the Big Sky no I think it's different because the job descriptions are different for for David fizz they'll it was going to be it's different to bring it to hire him thinking that he is going to attract free agents as opposed to the general manager I really do I I don't think that that's something that should have that pressure should have been on David fizz Dale that all of a sudden but I guess I don't I don't that's I thought was a faulty logic in the hiring where is the GM as relationships with all with the star players and has a lot more notably real good relationships with other front offices to me that actually is a it works more in their favor and is better to have a better have that characteristic for front office person this is early than a couple but but physical health but one last thing to say that but fifth there was brought here one of the selling points the fizz Dale Weise his relationship with star players around the league even outside of lebron L..

"Are just a phone call or click away welcome back everybody did Randall sucking baseball continuing our conversation with Jerry Koosman about to have his number retired when the New York Mets convene the twenty twenty season lots of calls for him all our lines are going to and we start with Dan in Albany Dan good afternoon and thank you for your call welcome dead Randall's talking baseball thank you very much and no Jerry it's a pleasure to talk to you are you representing the match on his help so well in all those years your pitch for the match and I was at all three games but I want to ask you two questions when you started the second game most people lost one nothing I believe did you change any dynamics of your pitching what you saw the day before and how you adjusted your style the pitching for the Orioles that day and then the second question going out in the top of the ninth inning in that last game of the World Series what were you thinking when you walked out to that mount for the last inning and one of the following I got into the locker room that day I followed Billy juniors are introduction to your locker room didn't have any credentials but I walk and until Hodges's office is on the left there was a phone right in the wall right next to Gil Hodges is office your locker rooms to the right I picked up that phone made a phony phone call and listen to Gil Hodges talk to some people in the locker room I walked into the locker room and hung out with John Cordwell went and Boswell in those guys so your should there a lot so I just want to say thank you very much what a wonderful opportunity you had and then you made the most of a child graduation thanks thanks Dan what about going out there Gerry the top of the ninth inning all right expelled for your questions just want you to know you're from Albany I have a key to the city of Albany all but the so you get locked up for me you need a talk about the second game in Baltimore yes so we lost the first game and the second game my thought was there's just no way we can first of all I was afraid to lose so right I was going to be giving it my all but there is no way that I wanted to go back to New York and were down two games boy what a joke yeah we we had scouter reports for left handed pitchers and right in the pictures so naturally the scholar report before the game we're going over how to pitch you guys from left handers viewpoint and so did that and I was pretty successful for the first of six innings of you don't know what they did get the no his six innings in a World Series game yeah but anyway it was close gamely when a two to one thanks Dale Weise said bill Hodges managerial ship ensign rific plays by bud Harrelson in a Charles on on the side of the infield yeah absolutely and so anyway we go back to New York and I think let's see your second question only talk to well what was it like going out there in the top of the ninth inning well that was the third question I can't murder sector but the group going out there for the top that mine was I was quite nervous and excited and I remembered my warm up it just I couldn't get my curveball over and so I just made up my mind right then because I was gonna get beat on the anything but my basket ball wanted through what's fast balls in the ninth inning and that course I still have the great all class of the those good as I did the first inning you did the Davey Johnson Paul was going out to you now tell there was so much excitement I heard was if it was deafening there was a constant or you just couldn't hear yourself think so to speak and you couldn't hear the ball hit the bat so and David Johnson connected with that fastball with two out I didn't know how hard it hit it because I couldn't hear the ball at the bat so the only thing I can do is turn around and looked and pray that it isn't going out of the ballpark and I see clear and it does go back to the edge of the grass right yep little warning track staff and when he stopped turned around and I knew the ball was out of the ballpark and he caught the ball it down to one eighty and that other happens Cleon we don't drop her and that was all over it was yeah all hell broke loose on it was unbelievable and the in during image is you or wrapping your legs around Jerry grocery what a what a picture in time that is John in east meadow for Jerry Koosman on it Randall's talking baseball on the fan hi John yeah hi hi go ahead John Hey John okay we got to move on alright here's Kevin in at Long Island for red Jerry Koosman hi Kevin hi how are you today and nice to talk to you as always thank you I got to talk to Johnny planted years ago and now be able to talk to you Terry crews minute is a true ana I was a young boy in flushing when the Mets first move there I was sixteen when you is one that championship you were a pitcher who was at his best on the big stage I know god bless Tom Seaver Siva brought so much and that's and I pray.

"Bed since university you spend time with the road about community and then again sorry so it's kind of in and out together yeah we got in to get a chance to hook up and see if we get find you before you get out of town so we'll talk alright let's talk about what's going on with the bears because did you yeah I know I saw your get up you heard what Matt Nagy said yesterday but I played against Robert who didn't here is the question that was asked did you pull match because of injury or poor performance I'm aware through others have told me that that so that that's why I like in these type of situations it's hard like right after the game when you guys are when you're in your interview on and you're you're talking about different time lines and everything there's a there's a lot of stuff that's going on right after the game but it's this with this one so simple because there's there's nothing but pure honesty in in all this I mean that it's literally everything that I just told you conversation wise every decision that was made it had zero to do with his play zero it was completely based off of the injury that he had last night or where he's at okay so you hear that do you believe that I don't I don't believe it because so first of all have you ever heard of a quarterback not being able to play to the head I have been I would think especially when your body's all warm in heat again your fight you're fighting here to stay in that game I'm I'm getting in a fight with him like if if you my my heart has to stop for me not to be on the field like I have got to be incapable of going out there playing and the heck was not hindering getting any fashion or the hip wasn't bad enough where you go wow he could barely walk like he's barely able to I played with guys like Matthew Stafford he he's going to you're going to have to call time out and drag him off of the feel this by like a laugh which being carried by is lying then no in India who still stayed in the game by the way yeah like correct that's why I don't think that the injury like the the way he's cranking the picture out and then also like and maybe I'm wrong but I need in you might know better than me but I also saw yesterday just scrolling through social media that Mitchell had said that the increased uneasily occurred in the first half and then met Nagy said that it's a record two series before the final drive so which one was it like if they're both telling a different story when the time line is pretty simple when you get hurt in the NFL you got me on television all the time you'll see a doctor come up and just standing behind head coaches are whispering in his ear in that moment within one minute is telling them this person has this injury they can come back we don't know they are coming back whatever so like if he was hurt in the second quarter which was what he said if I'm correct in our reddit correct he immediately get told that Nagy immediately and then you can't say like it really was from from the second to last drive of the game yeah he absolutely Mitchell to basically said that it happened late in the second quarter when he rolled toward the sideline like coming toward you on K. on the TV and he got hit in the head that's what he said yeah and so like with with with Matt Nagy thing like always it was from the secular series of the game or something where we realized he just couldn't function right I think we might a lost Dan and his phone will re establish the contact with him because I really want his take we got it back all right we got you back then yeah all right there it's either that that Mister Davis you uncompetitive kid and I would never question I'm never going to say that about somebody or not now you're not being truthful but there there's no in between it's either make major debate you said like yeah I don't want to play like yeah coach you know what I'm really really hurt which I can't imagine you would order met now you've not being truthful about why he made the decision Seoul where do they go from here because luck chase Daniel is played eleven seasons chase Daniel is not the answer I don't think Tyler breeze the answer but Tom Thayer who calls the games and played on the eighty five bear said of your mix can't play what he played chase put put Tyler in there let's see what he can do and then you can check that off the listing all either can't read can't well yeah I mean and that's part of the equation as well as like if you thought that he wasn't good enough to move with a hip injury like chase I love take you got an outstanding career as a back up but it's not like he's moving around like Lamar Jackson so like is the improvement of their hit there that the movement that much better and then yeah if if you realize your season is probably with the goals not going to come to the way that you thought it was going to there's no benefit for playing chase Daniel now you risk okay what message are you sending your locker but you're gonna play dollar what not but it is not a good situation and I think I think what we've seen here because we've talked back and forth about the scheme and what they should have been I think what happened was a I don't know if I don't think Matt Nagy believes in its diversity I think don't like at there's no other how to conclusion I can come to wait with how everything is transpired okay so then here's the next question for you if Matt Nagy doesn't believe in Mitchell to risky but the guy that hired Matt Nagy is totally wedded to Mitchell Tibesti one of two things has to happen either he changes coaches to get someone else in V. as backing of ownership still that plays Mitchell to risky OR Ryan looks in the mirror and goes I had conviction I believe them I was wrong I got to fix this which is it yeah well I mean just in my experience it's usually the the former because general managers are very very you know their their territorial their role as well and if you go down the ladder where you sit there and say I was wrong then you've exposed yourself big time and your job but he already has Dan he has exposed himself because he's got no tight end on the roster of bad offense of line and his team going from twelve and four to god knows where yeah but you can point to you can point to like injuries being part of that as well and the like you know this some bad breaks and bad luck you didn't got a mortgage your future and trade away all those pictures to you know deal with interest you did to go get the quarterback and so that's why when you make all those subsequent moves and then you then if it meant that you no longer believe in that move then the four fingers that you're pointing at someone else or point pointing it yourself so far I like it right so I think that's more general manager at least in my experience will go well okay I still believe in the player I just picked the wrong culture the coach didn't do what I thought he was going to do it so I think it's crazy that you're in a situation like it's crazy that's how that's why the end of those that you week to week world in your world that you're asking this question and I said this a couple weeks ago on your show the biggest issue for the bears right now is their two biggest roles their massive questions over and I don't know if they're in several of the next six weeks Seoul is this thing a complete blank show or can it be fixed with some a student moves in the offseason and does that astute move constitute making a deal to get a veteran quarterback in here whether it's somebody in free agency that pops up a wall I don't think that god be available or training for cam Newton Nick Foles or somebody else out there no you don't treat for anyone because again you your mortgage yourself so much in that position we got to remember that the free agent market quarterback whites could be very unique I mean I don't know but I mean you're looking at rivers greedy embrace those guys all the lock your their deal and I know whether or not to tell anybody that but you're certainly in you're certainly bringing in a veteran quarterback like however you acquired them I don't believe it should be a trade but you're bringing in somebody that you go okay we believe that this guy's a good enough player because going back and everyone knows that this is a team last year that was one of the better teams in the industry and a kick away so this is still a talented team got talent on their defense and their defense is bearing the brunt of a poor performing all offense and you're still some talent on this office there still is some so you know this is going to be a massive all season for Ryan pace and you're gonna have to make some big big voice and big money decisions but I would imagine bringing in a veteran quarterback now this is assuming that you keep that coach right like bringing in a better quarterback and making sure that those guys that's their opportunity to win the job so if they do go out and get some veteran yeah somebody tweeted at midday said Philip rivers unlike me and got ten kids always been in San Diego yeah good luck getting him beginning in December when the winds are whipping off Lake Michigan at Soldier Field is like sixteen degrees with the wind chill moves near zero now I'm probably not co signing on that but let's assume that he can get some solid veteran quarterback to come in here would you also draft somebody like the ravens dead with Lamar Jackson thirty to thirty five make you know use your two second round picks to go okay I got to use both of them I'm using them I'm getting somebody that I believe it no I wouldn't I could I still believe image of your fifty like I still think Mr Brzeski the capable player are you thinking of how down the fact that you've been mismanaged this year like he truly has been mismanaged and I'm not ready to give up on him as a player I I'm never going to be taken for the guys that were taken before and no one will but I'm not ready to go after three years in a really one really good year and one really poor year ago because I'm just getting his rookie year because of everything around it but those past two years I'm not ready to give up on him and go yep yep you're done I'm going to now totally invest more assets into into the quarterback position because I'm such a believer from experience quarterback plays very much so dependent on who's around them especially when that does not it absolutely rock star and so I think that putting good people around them is is still the paramount way to go mark Hoover has a question for our guest Dan Orlovsky was out with us every Tuesday can yes Dale Weise matinee not running out of the I formation the great coaches know what their teams do best in this line is better moving forward rather than backward yeah I mean we saw a couple weeks ago where they started to put a second tight end their utilize you form the slot run game it was really good thank for that I wish I let's listen I these are all assumptions I wish I had the answer of what but that ain't the only question either like I can go down the laundry miss out on the move why do not in the mood why are these I mean that that is the question has anyone else in the local media has anybody asked that like why that's not being the only the first question out of my mouth do you have proof last year the you get it done and he was really good at it you have posted here that you do with a very little and yet he still good at it so why aren't you doing more of that that would be the first question my only assumption I think that that is on your show was met Maggie learns from under injury and you read system was run by Alex Smith is one of the most efficient pocket quarterbacks that we see in the NFL in the last decade and that's how he wants that he he wants him to play like Alex Smith and we seen in India read adjust for catching the homes and that now you never has limits that's a great point that question has come up to Matt and there have been times limited worries roll them out you went well that was a really good throw because he's actually had moments where he's fairly accurate and then he gets you know a drop here there but when you ask him to stand there scan the feet that's just not who that guy is well yes it is it's not it's not the mark Jackson is either and it's not no hi Michael watch how much the chiefs move the pocket protector it's not occur because of that and a lot of ways it's not he'll give me global is but these coaches are aware enough and they're smart enough I people are going to be nauseated at me saying this stop asking the players to do things that their players telling you they can't do it from a guy who's been around some poor coaching and been around good coaching it drives me insane that these coaches can't see that or won't do it and it's and again this is near the players speaking because I had coaches do this to me like I had coaches try to get me on the whole that I'd be like dude are one of five five forty I'm a six foot five on athletic you like stop asking me to do that just let me sit in the.

the fifty greatest concert for the last fifty years where they took one concert per year went through all the way gotta bunch techs will get to those in a minute let's get back to the phones here's David on WGN hi David yeah you'll choose you up all planned right away I know I talk about it like total on it you know yeah Daniel Hey wait concert sure ACDC highway to hell tour the big deal was do you recall aids radiation this is revenge after Comiskey park Skylab no bills school records I couldn't believe it was awesome yeah yeah well I mean yeah I mean I don't use were too large ranch golf teenage radiation yeah I know I remember them I was at disco demolition in those two he was saying it was completely insane I'm why is soon as soon as the date as soon as everybody started running out in the field of my for my friends and my cousin I got the hell out of there we got out of there was completely insane but disco demolition yeah that was really a concert was it was it was a double header baseball game they got ruined because they blew up the field but yeah those are those are those are some awesome memories right there thanks David Preciado three one two nine eight one seven two under his phone number is Mike on WGN I Mike indicate on not great show a lot of great memories thank you nineteen seventy two saw out think Floyd it yet but it around while war before they release starts at the moment so could you imagine you're in dark side of the moon the first time that's incredible and they're there the late show was incredible I mean it was just a poor numbers no big snowfall decisions on stage was really stop that yeah now the one we had that tickets in the afternoon for George Harrison at stadium and in the evening Frank Zappa and some guys for sake and gymnasium and crystal light wow that's the best quite a double feature that's really something right there yeah that's amazing yeah yeah I got a call it that sorry no got one more one more quick story you're talking about no sooner Schaal I added my friends got you take a blood sample in in your early seventies I had called here to take care of my two nephews and the whole family was going out I couldn't find a soul to take care of them I was stocked I noticed the shawl not long after that John Bonham died a eventually solve the John Paul Jones and there are some but I never let my nephew Sir get yeah I bet yeah I was I was lucky enough I saw sampling twice I was looking up to see him twice before midnight and I still if I if I I still have my ticket stub for the nineteen eighty two or and that because the you know I had a ticket and then Bonham died so you know I you know I had diet state all my stuff that that million the million the concert by state all my stops and then my mom thrown out no yeah baseball card what exactly exactly all right Mike thanks buddy right now your body that's going to be amazing to see Pink Floyd and not know what dark ceremonies and then they start playing dark side of the moon but when what's the deal with all these clocks in may here's began on WGN head eight I get worried bashed in worse all right this one the best phone I saw which I couldn't believe it because I wasn't really into the group was styled McCartney and wings all I love that band I love that band yeah I told I told you once before I saw him at the capitol center and end up sit next to god select exactly yes I know the story I love that story yeah in the worst because you're died so far was it the same way gavel center yeah but in the mother it capital center had one of the players that you know had them overhead screen you know from the ceiling right and this guy comes ideas you people record trade your look first people to say there's and it was like a dumb be tight I don't know what Dale Weise what aid for an hour we should get going all day long yeah Zappa comes already place your forty five minutes and see a lawyer that's the that's ridiculous that's right the only well we're off yeah was that total rip off that's when he was out I think the album is overnight sensation yeah that's well yeah I remember that I'm yeah yeah why why did really that sounds terrible there was always a large that the wars your body some Gumby so how come the animated stupid thing that goes on for an hour and a half and I love god but the people I bet there were people in there who were trip in who were like man this is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life yeah yeah pass that lives on believable yeah I'm trying to think of a worse concerts that I've ever seen well that one in seventy seven you know one of the greatest bands of all time when the worst concert ever sing just completely lit up they were completely loaded I mean ridiculous we have five seven four Jimmy Page was on folding chair for most of the show horrible I saw when I I the only time I've seen Pearl Jam I'm gonna write remedy this man try to go see him next time there at Wrigley but I some for Pearl Jam twenty up at alpine okay and the openers were mud honey queens of the stone age the strokes and then Pearl Jam Mudhoney was great yeah queens of the stone age were great the strokes were awful well I could not believe it but like it's a weird choice to have those guys I yeah I I I don't get it it's not really in the vibe but at one point you know Eddie Vedder drinks like a bottle of wine at last at least before it goes out on stage and Julian Casablancas leasing or the strokes was so bad that loaded Eddie Vedder had to come out and sing for him as Julie was just like I he just gave up music while Eddie Vedder singing my song now so I can't really interrupt them yeah just now you it will yeah it's that's the last Eddie Vedder's trademark as he comes out with at least one bottle of wine at the top of the show big bottle line and a notebook he comes out with a notebook every show and and if you want to just like is drink any takes we just take some notes like he he brings out a notebook and sometimes you know sometimes call an audible because all right at the you know they'll write a setlist sometimes call an audible and just like yellow the guys in the big change the song immediately on out we're doing bush leaguer so there is a great live band well as I said before I programs one of the best live bands ever I can consistently seven seven three area code sends in their tax if you want to jump in with your great concert stories are bad concert stories or Iggy Pop in the Ramones at the Aragon I think was nineteen ninety two Tom man I bet that was amazing never seen Iggy Pop there's a there's a have never seen students are you pop another band I that said that I regressed mother another artist I regret never seeing Kurt says room red hats as Matt at red hat chili peppers red hat smashing pumpkins I was gonna say red hat chili peppers warmup band for Pearl Jam smashing pumpkins is October seventeenth nineteen ninety one I said that to rid it said I stood next to Rick Nielsen for the show and he brought his son from Rockford then there you go Stever if on the night he died at alpine valley yeah it was his very last show was an alpine valid for the helicopter crash Dave Matthews at Soldier Field in Wrigley Field I've seen Dave Matthews at both of those venues a few times eight one five area code how bad **** was John Carpenter Italian hill bad **** all y'all is a great venue a venue perfect place to see carpenter that show was I'm still kicking myself as a whole go ahead my body one he won tickets and I couldn't go and yeah tickets and I could've gone sense can they had the the screens behind them one above them showing clips from the movie for all the movies while they were planned and I got the V. I. P. package I went all out I was like I don't care the V. I. P. package you got a strike carpenter man John Carpenter live in concert one of my favorite shows ever all right everybody hang on three one two nine eight one seven two under the phone number on this the fiftieth anniversary of the first day of Woodstock we want to hear from you text or talk at three one two nine eight one.

"That was pretty good too. Next Brian Simpson at beasts them twelve o two seventy four we talked in the power tan about the Diamondbacks BUSTER, how do you explain their success in? Why isn't anyone talking about David Peralta? He totally wore out my Padres in our four game series. I love the work in my case does he's the head of baseball ops for the Diamondbacks. He seems to be really good identifying plays. I remember talking with the money took over that job. And he talked about improving the defense and how much of a difference that was going to make and I hung up the phone. I was like. Yeah. Okay. Right. Sure. And sure enough he was exactly right. I thought this was going to be absolutely rebuilding year for the Diamondbacks with Paul Goldschmidt being traded. You know, what it may turn out to be better than that? They're certainly in the mix out there in the nationally west Louis, Dale Weise at a Dale underscore Lewis doubles zero if the season ended today BUSTER who would be your pick for National League rookie of the year popular choices would be either pita Lonzo Fernando Totti's junior. But what about Chris paddock thus far? He's posted a one point six seven ERA and limited hitters to just get this a one twelve batting average. He would be number one Pete Alonso. It'd be number two. I totally agree with you, Dave. And I talked about paddock. And he's absolutely make it three. Three David at baseball fan. Nineteen eighteen guys. How short of a leash is Dave Martinez on right now. The team didn't move Harper at the deadline, of course. That's not Martinez fault. And they miss playoffs last year. Now, they're off to an eleven and twelve start is it time to move on. And maybe try to get get this. Johnny super scout on board and make me Johnny super scout telling you at some point someone's going to hire Buck Showalter, and I don't mean this is a as a any sort of indictment on the two teams that are going to mention but going to the year I wondered if given the expectations of Washington in Philadelphia if either one of those teams at any kind of a problem if the front office because you remember the Philadelphia front office is filled with a bunch of guys who work with buck in Baltimore, Andy macphail, mcclinton excetera, and in Washington, you know, they saw across the way with Buck Showalter. Absolutely. I think he could potentially be play. And all you have to know about Dave Martinez in his tenuous standing, and again, I don't think is anything do with Dave look, how many managers the the the nationals have had you know, it just constant treadmill of change with the manager. So yeah, I think it's a fair question. Finally, Corey Rupert. I know I'm not pronouncing his name, right? I've tried Ruko tried ROY Kurt. He's tweeted me told me what it is. I'm still getting it wrong. Sorry, Corey you're at Corey are underscore twelve guys helped me settle an argument. I've been having a debate about Jim Edmonds with a co worker he thinks Edmund is overrated, I think he's top notch. What do you think? Josh Wayne ah for second takeover because I'm gonna look up something real quick while you talk I side with the guy who says that Jim Edmonds was top notch. I was a huge Jim Edmonds fan, obviously in my formative years that Edmonds catch I think greatest of all time the diving catch I know it was not in a World Series game. So I don't wanna hear your Willie Mays argument. But. Edmonds. I thought was in his prime a fantastic phenomenal topnotch guide not a hall of Famer. But but one of the best of the generation gap core your co workers nuts. Okay. Jim Edmonds was a great outfielder. He had eight Gold Gloves. And I get it to go global ward. Sometimes especially in the past was given the guys who maybe weren't deserving. Tim Edmonton's eight Gold Gloves. You're not gonna get that without being pretty good hundred percent agree. And you're not going to get in the Bleacher tweet segment if you don't tweet at us do so and use the hashtag believe or tweets that that's it for today. That's that was excellent. I like that way to go. That's it for today. My thanks to Sara laying Sedav shown field. Josh macrey have a great day everybody and thanks for listening.
