"You get your podcast. This might be wrong, but I read something of like the way you got signed. Was Your at some party? And you play the song You are too drunk, so didn't Kinda kill it. Can you tell that story? All right, so we just detours hours. Riding is about the time we wrote detours off the EP. My Buddy Day terminal has has a spot east a town over office river this river, so we went over there and we were fishing all day in office, looking for publishing, he was signed to a company, called Ole at the time, and when I was out there. Dave told me that he's. He asked me that. Hey, man, have you sign a publishing deal yet? Now's like now Ma'am still looking. and. He's I will do my publishers coming out here today, so you should. Talk to you can get a meeting. I had a good buzz going on in that room and I was like Man i? Wish I would have known that like you know Kaz. If we have a fire I would probably start playing until are better than that insurance. That's exactly what happened, so we built a fire were hanging out in days. Like pay been. You know who ended up together first time. He's a hey, man. This is a my buddy Jordan. He just moved to town looking for pups Jordan play some songs, so they hand me guitar and I am just tank in. In light can't remember anything. Start Butcher in my songs in the felt terrible, and even Dave Kinda felt bad baddies man. I should have thought about that because we're hanging out fishing having beer all day and the next morning. I'm like driving into town in my brother is kind of beat me up on as I. Do you had a chance last night that I play some songs in his date you it. and. But Luckily Ben Simmons emails a Hey, man, you know. I realized the other night it was. It was kind of weird situation, so that like two days after that he had me into his office, and that's how I got that meeting by screwing those songs up so bad it let him. Do Oh God. That would give me so much anxiety that. Don't I? Know I always every time I show that story I bet you. Don't follow that route. Because also like I'm a I'm a terrible singer, and like have serviceable guitar player, but I've been that party so many times, and then handed the guitar so many times and got like halfway through blackboard. I'm like I. Remember the lyrics. Yeah Dude it's a scary. Like I didn't sleep at all that night I remember just being like dude because I mean like I said I was. Four years into town so like every meeting I was putting so much pressure on myself down to like. Did you get a? You GotTa make this work? Make this work to I. beat myself up so much because I mean. It was at that time where I was Kinda like. A ad put a two year. Limit on me moving town because I moved to town later. Now's twenty. Six twenty seven. And And I was just in here I am for years and I had another opportunity that kind of blew it. I was almost to the point where I was like dude. Donnie go back Louisiana. Get A job. Come up, buddy up you now. The man didn't work out. You got a job. I burned four years of my life because you suggested this new. Job. Why don't you just Barbie likes? You have a lot of great songs, but I I think singles Yup is is my favorite one. Just because I'm engaged now, but it's a song. A lot of guys can relate to. It's like hey, man. If this ever goes to shit, yeah, I want to be here, you know. Absolutely. That's exactly what that is. Where the song come from I wrote down Steven Dale Jones just Niba, in Justin, had just gotten engaged, and he said that a friend of his they were somewhere in midtown I thought the losers, red, or somewhere, and one of them said you're smart in never single her up and just put it in his phone and silver sitting Enron. injustice anything to like You're smart. Never single her up, and I was like that's kind of cool like it sounds cool. I've never heard it put like that, so we start writing this song about having this amazing girl that you never wanNA single era in. We've got about halfway through about an hour into writing that and I was like is. This is boring man like? Like I. Don't think this is the way we need to do it and I was like, but if we switched it because I don't know about Y'all, but I've been in a situation where I've seen a girl that was taken, but always talked to myself. I do that would be such a better boyfriend when she has. In both bow. Just Stephen Derelict do me. Do man up in here. In like a media like flipped it in the song like. Came within an hour I always say as I can remember so many times in college. Just being like God man if that girl wasn't Dayton that clown. Be Such a better boyfriend, yeah! That's one of my still one of my favorite song to play out. Loud your married now. Does, your wife like to hear that song we played. Is that weird thing? MMA. She doesn't mind singles you up. There's a few other ones. That she's not too big on. Take it from me being one of them. That's about you know ex. In N. also like going round is another one that she's not crazy about Carr's. That's about another another girl, so yeah, but she she answering was the up at all huge songs, so she's like well. Hey, as long as it keeps getting played, yeah! That one paid for the West, wing of the House. That would. Be Her Amazon You remember the first time you heard yourself on the radio I. Do like it was yesterday I was in Houston Texas. We were in a sprouts parking lot and I was down with my set my radio Rhett. We were sitting out there in our member. Thinking this is one of my first first weekends out with her. and. She's awesome she. In world will you're sitting in this parking lot waiting to go somewhere because she knew it was coming up and. I remember thinking like. Why don't we just got like? We could see the House that we were going to like. Why don't we just go over there and like walk in? The All we're not supposed to be.

"The in the in the in the realm of fantasy football but he's obviously built up some type of a poor you look back two weeks ago that throw and catch spot against Detroit lights so I think the tight end position is got to be it's got to be beneficial today it's got to be productive so I think I'll be better product on the on the giant side I like golden Tate and I like very slightly they've lost a lot without having everything will play today they've got to be able to move the football your Dale Jones is is a is a complex were back I think those are two guys a gift of his first time we talked the name golden right it's a this guy has had tremendous success over the years against the bears and he's one of the greats after the catch yes he is and he's he's a veteran he's he's he's a crafty veteran he finds a wings in the slot to get open and yeah we have you served that four game suspension to start the season and he's been very solid ever since you know it all open the show I talk about getting guys that go out there and compete a golden Tate competes in playing football is a fun guy to watch play football one guy who will not be competing today looking at some of the reports on the injury list for the Seattle game at Philadelphia G. deviant cloudy is not going to why he is out of that game but look at the eagles problems I'll shine Jeffrey Nelsen Adelard both out of the game along with Jordan hours and they brought up a guy from the practice squad to be a wide receiver today right it is so it's just gonna be covered Carson once this act or it's pretty much the whole day because that's really what all that's really laughs offense only for that middle mousesavers very good running back I think you'll get an opportunity to get some extra touches but he's not a guy your hand football off to twenty five times there's opportunity all over the NFL today are well there's opportunity for the bears today about you know the question is how many points can they actually score they should be able to pull up we all twenty four twenty seven point somewhere there today very easily this is not a team that scares you are defensively with regards to what the the the the giants from town so this is a gift well game for the Chicago was I I get it I I.
Daniel Jones named Giants starting quarterback
"I don't know if it's the biggest news in the NFL it's one of the bigger stories it's tough to balance which stories more important than the other yeah three pretty successful quarterbacks actually for that have all been in the news. cam Newton probably not going to play this upcoming weekend with the foot injury miss practice last two days drew Brees out for six weeks surgery on the farm well the saints be able to survive without drew Brees when they turn their attention to a combination of teddy Bridgewater and taste some hello also a big band out for the season the Mason Rudolph arable officially start this weekend and then you get you lie manning who his career is coming to a close he just finished up the eighteenth hole and he's walking to the clubhouse. I must if there's an injury to Daniel Jones that's the only way I foresee him getting on the field or if the giants want to do. a final home game for Eli manning which I don't think that's how you should operate when you pretty much given him a two year victory lap tore as it is and Eli manning is getting benched by the New York football giants that are moving on to the future or what they think is the future in Daniel Jones. and I think this is the right move. if you wanna told me before the season started it would be this early I didn't think it would be this early because of the giants loyalty however being in New York. being someone that was all on the fan on Monday into Tuesday before the announcement was made later Tuesday afternoon. you could read that the writing was on the wall that they were moving to Daniel Jones because if you're the head football coach knowing how sensitive of a topic it is and you get up to the podium and you can announce your starting quarterback is on Monday well you know by Tuesday or Wednesday the news was coming that he lied manning was going to the bench and Daniel Jones was going to be the starter so what does hold the lye manning situation I think it's the right move. they have a stable offense of wine in place which they did not have a year ago they have a general project generational talent at running back in se Kwan Barkley now the receivers are problem however you have to opponents that are not that difficult doesn't mean you're going to win because the giants can't stop as but Scott would say a nose bleed it we don't when you look at the giants defense so you see this giants team it's a bad team but they get a break in the schedule with the box and the red skins before they played the Vikings are the giants and then it goes back to the cardinals in the lines to not so good football teams so I think the timing of it is okay however you wonder what was the point what was the purpose in bringing back. you lie banning if you're going to abandon him. and jump ships after two games and it comes back to the loyalty that. John Merrow has relied manning as you see in this dance unfolding for three years now when I first tried to get rid of him they botched it ain't going to Gino Smith instead of Davis wide but they given the full year last year new coach it didn't work out and you see the ally manning go from a quarterback who was well above five hundred to now being out five hundred so sure you like manning isn't the only one to blame for this however you have to ask yourself are you a better team with the lie manning. and. I don't think you can definately give me an answer that states the giants are better team with you lie manning it doesn't mean Daniel Jones is going to white be legal on fire the first few games however there's an unknown with Daniel Jones and I'm always willing since he is a young quarterback since he is your future franchise quarterback so you think picking him six overall I'm willing to get that ball rolling in the right direction now and get in the experience. there's not a purpose the play Eli manning anymore you know his career is over. and you can call up at a five five two one two four CBS and disagree with me one of his career is not over have you watched the last three years. and if his career was in over. and the giants to Jack to the quarterback. had maybe an opportunity trade and why hasn't something happened Jaguars Tom Coughlin connection not happen in the role the guard to mention. Minneapolis colds. what happened. the Pittsburgh Steelers all the reason the marriage have a great relationship. Mason road off. so I don't see a situation this year. that you're gonna be able to treat you like manning a for the giants. and next year I think it would behoove him to retire. who's the team that's going to sign him. now you never know what injuries happen and maybe if you want to take a one year rental on him. I don't think he's that good anymore and this is not not the Eli manning it's just being honest and the evaluations of the observations I've made the last two three years on the line manning. I do think he's a hall of fame quarterback. I think he's been a very good regular season quarterback and he was a great postseason quarterback so when you combine the two. I think that puts him in the hall of fame I really do believe so I think I'll get in the hall of fame I think you should get in the hall of fame however it's time to realize and plus these top ten in passing yards in top ten in touch downs but it's time to realize if you rely manning but this is it. and the scary part is I don't think everyone in the giants organization is on board. you look at the three big decision makers there the coach the general manager and the owner. notice how Pat Shurmur speaks on this. Dave gentleman in John marriage did not speak to the media on this. and I really do believe John marriage didn't want to go down this road yet they knew that Jones is going to play this year. now married did send an ideal world we don't see Daniel Jones should the giants don't see Daniel Jones this year. I think he knew the on the back of his mind that this wasn't a good football team even as optimistic as you can before the season starts you're eventually going to see Jones I don't think he ever thought it was going to happen this early and you know for damn sure Dave gentleman doesn't want the clock to start taking on his decision. because they've got all men a few months ago was talking about. it's the Kansas city model I don't know the you know the Green Bay model we do not see until twenty twenty. not at all one person Asian but every time I hear Dave get on there's one quote that will never escape my mind. Jim Jones asked him a question about the future he goes can I don't know the future I can get hit by a car tomorrow so how do you get a man to me I don't think he knows what he's doing I don't but his future as the giants general manager is going to be decided. off with Daniel Jones does. so he wants the bonds also more time. it doesn't surprise me doesn't want to throw someone to the walls that early except Pat Shurmur won this argument you know I patch over one this argument is he went into the room. and he said I'm coaching for my job I probably will get fired this year but. if I have another bad you the you after this. yeah I'm gonna get fired and you guys aren't letting me play the best player available at the quarterback position. because we've been through this dance for years with the all right now any wise Donnie's finish his best days are behind them. and he's not the only problem but he's part of the problem so they want to find a resolution get the experience the Daniel Jones and team up with se Kwan Barkley because all you're doing point you lie manning for a few weeks is you're wasting. se Kwan Barkley until Daniel Jones gets on the field. but that do together let's see what they could do and also maybe it gives you a little spark. is there going to be some down times are gonna be some downtime to Dale Jones yes am I convinced he's gonna be the franchise quarterback no I don't love the pick. I need to see it though because the alternative and what you've been doing for the last three years has not been working. so yes I thought the giants were right to move on even though all were in agreement in the organization the way I interpret it and yes I believe you I manning is a hall of fame quarterback open up that conversation to you at a five five two one two for CBS on the other

"Make the throws needed and also also understand where the ball needs to go so for me stopped doing the normal thing. Stop worrying about what history tells you and be the same g see they were draft night when you sit there and you were looking at us like we were stupid at the louis riddick and todd mcshay and all these other folks said you dummy go out there and being g gin and dale jones beat the starting quarterback. We really think lewis not well ryan. I say dummy i mean i just like the way nastase but that's that's cool but let let let's put it this way all right. He has done a tremendous job of executing exactly what pat shurmur has asked him to execute which so you have to get pat shurmur some some credit because if you notice it every game the play calling sequence does make sense. Let's start you out with some three step drops. Its toll couple. Slants throw a couple of shallow routes from crossers and then we'll start pushing it down the field then we'll attack the second level then we'll take that third level it's very very calculated as the how they called the place for him and he's executing that now the plays where he has to instinctively come off and go to second and third re-teach doing that too and he's putting the ball where it needs to be put the only thing i would the cost it say. Is this before you start. You know sticking your chest out talking about you need to start asking all the people who didn't like him why they didn't like him. You know what i mean. Well okay teams right now. They don't really they're not going off of any tendencies not trying to attack your protections not trying to take away your office. They're not trying to really look at you and go what makes him uncomfortable and let's attack act that spot until he figures out and see if he can figure out what to do when we take away what he likes to do. There's no one's done that to you yet and you know this ride week. One of the regular season when when everybody is amped up for opening weekend and then we two three four all the way down to seventeen grown men coming after you who now have a book on what it is that you don't like so before you start acting like this is going to be the norm. Let's slow down because eli has played very little allies seen everything that the defense could ever throw at you if if do the first quarter of the season first third of the season. He looks like hey look. He's hitting the wall. He's slowing down and everyone there at the giants said he looks great. He looks fantastic and as a matter of fact the last quarter this season last year. He looks spectacular well. Let's see what he looks like. He knows what it's like for people to game plan. Everyone knows what eli doesn't like. Everyone knows what he likes to throw wrote so he's seen it all and he's he's shown you in the biggest moments he can adjusted those kinds of and i'm not sitting here pining for eli manning saying he's the man because maybe you know daniel. Daniel jones is the future but let's slow down on him until we actually see how things progress during the regular season then we'll take it from there as far as putting them in the giants hall of fame. The lowest rank the best enjoy the weekend. Thank you so much for this and we'll see you next week. You'll.

"So no one wants to change game tonight and you know Dale Jones speak about him I'm impressed by the key that we have a lot I was you know I am I wasn't you save impressed I I actually his ball seem to be right when it was supposed to be I mean that touch on the back of the ends on me as for the more perfect than that I mean all the two phone calls okay I have been still he's a rookie but the thing is is that yeah I know that you guys try and sell no we don't know try to compete with the compete but this is not gonna be a competitive team should there be building kit what they're selling I'm not blind you rebuild it when you when you get rid of snacks and get with the apple you get rid of learning that wasn't doesn't rebuild you didn't place in with three that right now now get traffic so you do you believe you're not going to be a good thing because you lovely young defense yes unfolding guys does he love you guys and the cardinals so mom the last team that the defense Courtney was also used as a project that you know they might do that they might not but the bottom line is is the rebuilding defense and agrees that this would be his ship is gone no this thing the was crazy suspended for four games such he was not going to compete he also if we're going to rebuild this put the kids in the area it seems like we'll be asking this interview them every day and he said he hopes that Daniel Jones of see the field this year right that because the last one so well and it's going to be so competitive okay that sounds good but thank you missile defense intelligence we know what we see the see the team for years not a good team you did not better from the draft will you get the rookie quarterback to solus on him for the draft we need to see a play from week one that's my P. I think twenty going to rebuild this start million which always novia Barkley yeah I mean I I think it is is if he shows I mean I I still think you are going to start the season and then that you know they'll they'll play it by ear if if I didn't do and I I understand what they do and well they're not going to it's not going to put him in right away they got out you know and by you know but one of the five and one at one point six in one I don't I don't think it's going to happen but if they are right two one eight and and he loves playing at the at five oh one okay well you know what you're going to go for it I will see them he asked me to be in one of five that's that's the ambient five in one and if they start to go even a week six game but we're going to like okay you're going to do like when the transition from home more boring he lives in a week that is correct when he switched over the line this is a winner rescue so I just need first that this may be needed for the rookie there from day one let's see what he could do Eli times coming Gordon we have no we apologized to Beijing you will watch with couple seasons ago right this new fast and in the end this goal so at this little thing one so glaring judge.

"Will determine what happens with Daniel Jones and win more so than the play of you I don't think they're really worried about him like I said look great Tom I think this song Daniel Jones looks great is a great store for him when you look at it and what he's done can you build on that tonight and that's where the key but Daniel Jones I was happy for him with the start I was also having for big government because there are a lot of people that weren't happy with that six pick overall going to jail Jones and now they got a chance to see him in the game action I tell people all the time when they when they ballyhooed or when they've moved to Dale Jones pick I said how many do games did you watch last year for most people the answer was zero so this is the first chance they got the CM he's got great anticipation but the grass this NFL offense rather quickly in and I think we saw that really well coached in college to what about the office of line here is it is it up to what they need to do to kinda maybe limit the abuse or the use of se Kwan Barkley or is will it be you know fancy enough for you life whatever quarterback to throw the ball all over the field yeah this office of mine it's already better than they were last year they've got a huge operator right guard Kevin Siler this and he's been one of the best pass blocking guards in the entire NFL a lot of people didn't know that because he played up in Cleveland but he's been he's been a start putting him in a right for really solidifies that front and Mike rumors were not the right tackle you know the great thing about cycler runners will Hernandez and it's over they all played every single snap last year's sold their availability has been just as good as their ability I think we're going to see a totally different office of wine with John Hall PO in there if he stays healthy this is one of the biggest office of line the giants have had in a long time so I think we're gonna be more physical I think Pat Shurmur discount talking even trying to get he wants to be a little bit more of a a run heavy offense and I think you want to get to that obviously with Golden State missing the first four.

"Nine what's that? He was the was the seventh overall pick coming out of morehead state where in his senior year. Dan he threw six touchdown passes and eleven interceptions. Anyone seven th overall in nineteen seventy nine and the New York fans at the time. I remember because I was twelve years old, and I probably was in sixth or seventh grade. And I remember my giant frames at school or junior high school wherever I was going nuts over the fact that the giants just took this quarterback by the way, the draft back then was on Tuesday. I remember getting the news in a classroom coins, something called sports phone to get the updates. But anyway, Phil Simms, Moorhead state seven overall pick six touchdowns eleven interceptions his senior year. And in a way, this is what? That pick is like Jones from Duke. Yeah, nobody expected with not great stacks going into spot that very few people expected him to go. Yeah. I mean, that's one of the things that I said, was, we just don't have a MRs forty years ago and symtas, a great correlation. We just don't have a great example of a quarterback. That was just good in college football. Not really good. Not well. That guy was great. But. Right. Exactly. But just kind of good in college, and then went on, was taken early and became great now. There's been some guys that were good in college that we're taking the third or fourth round or undrafted, and then they became great pros after a couple of years, but the expectations weren't that, you know, the expectations weren't for them to be great. We just don't have a history of guy that was just a good player in college quarterback. Wise taken to be great and then became great. And so Phil Simms would be like the one kind of outlier example. There's no other examples that we think a lot of people because I put this on social media, I've had a lot of people like some people throw like Russell Wilson. I want to bake dude. Russell Wilson was third round. Pick and was great in college breeze. Great in college Brady but Brady was the sixth round pick. There's not an example. In college. Yeah. That's another thing too people sleep on Brady was really good at Michigan. Watch ala Bama. Exactly. Say, why were people waiting to take sky? Yeah. One hundred ninety nightspot exactly. There's not an example, really Phil Simms is certainly the outlier there might be another one or two have the remember like my social media hurt Warner, but there was no. Yeah, there was no where the guy was just good taken early in became great. We've had guys that were just like EJ manual was a good college player taken to be great and never was Jake locker Christian. Ponder like those guys were good, but taken at that spot to be expected to be great, and they never became great. And so that we just don't have examples of it, where Prescott third round pick or fourth round pick, you know, again from pick fourth, but there is I, I would argue that there's a massive difference between the sixth and seventeenth, pick expectations wise. Like you're taking if you're taking six you're taken to be great with the expectation of be great. You can't be twenty two nine you can't, and that's the issue would it be better? For Dale Jones had the giants gone, Josh Allen at six Oliver six and then come back around and taken, dangle Jones at seventeen would that have made life easier? I honestly believe that honestly believe that because especially with the pay scale, where it is nowadays in, and you don't have to commit all that money. I've said that this was more about the giants and it was Daniel Jones. I did a Duke game. I think the kids really tough. I think the kids he's like an Alex Smith to me, he's going to be really good within twelve or fifteen yards. But once you get past that, that's when the question marks come, but I do believe that if he was taking up the seventeenth pick and I kind of talk both sides of my mouth. It'd be different. But I'm also the guy that applauds the giants to go. Listen, if that's the guy, you want to don't wait till seventeen because I've always said, like, what's it matter? If the guy was first or second round, pick, like I've always said that, like you, you're picking them to go. Be really good for you. But with the sixth pick again, like I said this about Baker last year. You're not expected to be really good at one. You're expected to change the franchise at one and he did. I remember going around talking to a bunch of teams needed quarterbacks looking at two quarterback. So teams not even in the quarterback market looking at him. I remember the comment that one person said to me about Dingle Jones. They said that he's a third round talent who's gonna go in the first round who's going to be a good quarterback. But never gonna be a great quarterback. Sure that he is solid skills, but nothing that wows you now in this league as this person, pointed out, if we go back last year and seven of the ten highest paid quarterback didn't make the playoffs and the other ones did. So they were saying about dingo Jones. Well, if you surround him with enough talent and have a good enough defense. And maybe you could go to the plas ATL winning franchise with the guy, but that, that sounds like an awful lot to attach to a sixth overall pick, again, not seventeen. Right. Not thirty where they got the Andre Baker. Right. But six. Yeah. And again, like, like in any aspect of our life expectation, set everything. And so now he's going to be expected to be, but it's such a unique situation shefty. Because like again, he li- I'm not on the I'm not in the camp that. Thank you lie stinks. Right now believe that he can still play good functional football. But it's it's off of those guys that did not make the playoffs and all that. Like we're in the craze right now where everyone's just keep your quarterback cheap and pave everybody else and whatnot. But eventually, you just create a cycle, like let's say they build the roster and Daniel Jones doesn't play for two years. And then he plays in his good quarterback. Well, two years after that you're going to have to make a decision. Do you pay Jin Daniel Jones and not pay? Everybody else. You know. So you create this vicious cycle where if he's good. Let's say he becomes good. The giants are going to have in a situation where like okay well what do we do with them now type thing. But you know it's that's the thing there. It's going to be hard for Daniel Jones to match up to what the fan base organization, the team, the team mates like the teammates are looking around were six pick your supposed to be the guy, you know. And so that's going to be all. All those things that are going to be laid upon them and no social media this weekend right away. The giants social media count had gang Jones dropping dimes a couple of short passes. Yeah. Saw some of those mentions myself. The team has a very vested interest in making sure that this guy is introduced properly handled properly, and basically give them the respect that they wanted to have everybody believes them, and he has a chance of better chance to part of it. And it's interesting because I heard Pat Shurmur say talking about him into Petra was like, and I don't know co-chairman, but he was like, well time will tell in my response that it was like it's not only time it's you as well like you're the coach, you're handling of him and get them ins a support of him in what would you guys put around him is as equally as important as what he does with it. You know. And so I often says this fears so many quarterbacks are ruined than they are made in the NFL because there's not a lot of teams in coaches that truly know how to coach them. I'm in develop them part of it is to the to quarterback rule. We don't have third quarter when I came in the NFL I sat for two years and did nothing on game days. But dress I didn't have to worry about learning game plan and also having to win a game type thing, so and that's a whole nother different thing. But it'll be interesting to see how they handle him moving forward, how they handle moving forward. But the, the, the the presentation of him to their fans as massive our before we let you go. I gotta ask you about a Tober two thousand eight everybody does. Right. That is here is wandering. Eleven months in two thousand eight that. That was the game in which you're playing the Minnesota Vikings and early in the first quarter you lined up in shotgun formation and inadvertently, ran out of the back of your engine for safety and turn out the margin victory. Yeah. The cold you heard. There comes courtesy of W, X, Y T. So we think so couple of things. One, I the initial part, I start imagine. Like I fell start second NFL drive and winding up getting pinned deep and then Kevin Williams and Pat Williams detectives and going like, okay, this should be cool. Like I played at uconn, but it was third down. And we call the shotgun play. And it was a one man round it was Calvin Johnson, only, like, hey, we're throwing the ball to Calvin and the play came in we lined up, and it was a terrible defense for it. So I called timeout, and I went to the sideline and I was like, hey, it's like third, and ten or something here. Third like can we call something different? We're maybe there's another option other route whatnot, and they're like, no keep with the call, but they put me under center. And so Jared, Allen speech, a dub beats a double block, and it's like I look back on it now. And I'm tasha I left out the silence. But it's just a funny play. But I remove myself from it, and I go, I'm never I was never in that situation before, like US coaches talk about punters. Hey, when you're backed up, you practice it like you can't take a step back. I never, hey, when you're under center or you're in the shotgun or whatnot, and we're backed up like you can't you can't go back because natural reaction for quarterback pressures. We either step up if it comes outside or remove horizontally with some depth to get away from it, and so I had never even thought about it. But it's, it's an infamous play. Now, I reminded of it on social media daily by somebody with a gift now. But I remember getting to the sideline and like having this look on my face, like I don't know what to say you're doing ROY Williams. And Calvin Johnson, just looked at me and for like two seconds and then burst out laughing and they're like you're an idiot. I was valid valid. So how much do you get reminded on a daily basis or a weekly basis? So whatever daily daily because of the beauty of social media somebody, some if I say something that somebody doesn't like. Somebody's natural responses to go search that gif and send it sometimes it's just sent with that. Sometimes there's some, some profane text attached to it. But I get it. I look back down on like, oh my gosh. That is a really really really bad play. And then my only saving grace is the very next week. We were down in Houston Texans same situation. But I believe it was the three yard line and we call the go route to test. Calvin ran by the guy by twelve yards. But that's why only saving grace. Is that happened the very next week remembers that average exactly? I don't get that gift sent to me. What do you put that give to that gift when it because I'm so I'm so like, you know, like I want. Honestly, sometimes I find it funny. Sometimes some incentives to me. I like respond back like, well played, you know, like I get it. It's a it's a funny play. And then, again, like I played like eight or nine years after that. So it's not the I it's funny it's sports in the moment it stunk. And I'm sure lines fans I've apologized to you guys like in those moments we lost owned sixteen. The green we, we lost that game twelve ten your own sixteen. There's a lot of layers to that play that make it even worse. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. But. It is what it, isn't it? It's it's funny to me. Well, good for you that you can mean to get attitude about it. Yeah. Exactly. And thank you for running us through your career going on a walk down memory lane, and pre Shirley and say, thanks so much of the time, then thank you, man. We'll.

"One. What was my biggest prize in the NFL draft? The biggest prize to me. Was Dale Jones win six even more than Cleveland Farrell going for and we're going to get to that in just momentarily kinda thought Oakland was going to do something to mess it up. Yeah. But Jerry Jones is sitting there at six at first I thought they were gonna take Dwayne Haskins. But if you're going to take Daniel Jones, why not trade back Daniel Jones. I think literally any other pick than six coulda got them at seven. You could have got a got eighteen. Twenty eight. Thirty eight. Nobody in the NFL wanted Daniel Jones. But the New York Giants six New York are you doing what are you thinking that was by far the biggest surprise around one? And I would also say big surprise around one that you lock didn't get drafted quarterback is the currency of the NFL. The fact that not one team drafts have been around one. Now ended up being excellent value for the Denver Broncos selected, but I was. The drew lock is not a first round pick over under a Vegas was ten and a half. I mean Vegas thought you were going to be a top typic- Vegas. Doesn't miss that van. They don't put your over under ten and a half. And you get picked forty second overall. Like, we know knows this a little bit better than most of us. I couldn't believe that was the case. How far and away? My biggest surprise in round one. I've got a toss up. Kevin ask you this. Yes. Who was the bigger reach Cleland feral at four or Daniel.
