Traffic and weather on the 8s we're back to Rita Kessler in the traffic center. It's a pretty painful delay right now in Virginia on northbound 95 out of triangle into Dale City. This is gonna be the work before the Dale City exit after the cardinal drive overpass in the left lane and this may also be the reason for the delay we're seeing on northbound route one that begins near Powell's creek boulevard. China had into Dale City, so a lot of you may be trying to take that instead and that's really not the best idea you're going to be sitting in delays there as well, plus the traffic lights. If you're on the beltway it is the outer loop of the beltway slowing on to southbound 95 on that ramp the left lane is still blocked with the guardrail repairs from a morning wreck northbound three 95 that slows after The Pentagon headed on to the inbound 14th street bridge. Now the work on the George Washington Parkway first is set up in both directions between one 23 and the beltway with a single lane getting you by each way. Then you're going to find southbound after one 23 headed toward the scenic overlooks is also a work zone. Taking a lane, northbound 29 and built in near 28 or road, the right lane was blocked with the wreck. Northbound 28 between 66 and westfield's boulevard the right lane is blocked with the work and in the district it is the westbound freeway the delay headed into the northbound third street tunnel due to a work zone. We'll get up to a high end and low to mid 50s. And very low pressure will pass to our south on Sunday, most of the cloudy and a breezy day, slight chance for light shower by sunset, and highs will be in the low to mid 50s. "An abnormal slowdown southbound near Dale City beyond exit one 56. It's the response to a broken down truck blocking the right lane on the main line highway, 66. Westbound heavy at times near oakton and centerville, and even eastbound year 28th. That's going to be bailout, pouring off 28 itself, southbound on 28 very slow going, leaving centerville toward bull run and manassas park with the work zone, your Compton road, allowing only one lane to the left to get by southbound on 28. In the district, they are clearing the work zone on D.C. two 95, southbound and Pennsylvania avenue, but now they're going for a new crash in that same area. So that might prolong lane closures. It might wind up on the northbound side. You don't really ever know here. There are no traffic cameras on two 95. There is a crash on Pennsylvania avenue at fort Davis drive. It's affecting traffic both ways, but more so in the outbound direction. In Virginia on the George Washington Parkway, southbound after the CIA one lane is getting by a work zone in Wheaton, Maryland. There is a three car crash on veers mill road at Newport, mill road, and it's affecting traffic both ways in and out of Wheaton on various mill road, two 70, 95 Baltimore, Washington Parkway, U.S. 50 north and east of the beltway without incident and in Frederick on 70 westbound beyond two 70, a crash is getting moved onto a shoulder. When we finally have an update for the crash that happened much, much earlier this morning on southbound 95 after 6 O 6 in thornburgh. They managed to get that right lane reopened finally, so everything's over on the right shoulder. They're still doing some cleanup on the right shoulders so there is enough to look at right now your south bound 95 delays are after route three, headed all the way past 6 O 6 and thornburg, but again, you do have all your lanes available to you. Now before the southbound 95 just slow crossing the akban, northbound a little heavy from Dale City into woodbridge. Three 95, no reported issues. If you're on 66, it is eastbound delays approaching and passing two 34 business sudley road, the left side will get you by that wreck, then delays approaching the beltway, watch for work on the right side, westbound 66 is slow passing nutley street as well, where there's usually some work taking lane. On the top side of the beltway, seeing a delay form on the inner loop near three 55 headed around toward Connecticut avenue, this should be the mobile street sweeping crew, keep an eye out for what lane they're taking, eventually hitting all the way toward New Hampshire avenue, no problems along to 70 right now. However, boy, it's messy on the way to the bay bridge. Eastbound 50 headed toward the bay bridge to laser before cape saint Clair, headed onto the eastbound span of the bridge, the good news is they cleared that broken down vehicle off of the bridge, so both of your lanes should be open, follow the overhead signals, the westbound side has delays before Cox creek headed onto the westbound span of the bridge. The left lane of three remains blocked with the work and in the district in his southbound D.C. two 95 that is slow from eastern toward benning road with the work in the left lane. Fatal I-95 Crash Leaves 3 People Dead in Northern Virginia
"On I 95 in Northern Virginia yesterday. Virginia State police say that a trouper trying to pull over a speeding Dodge Avenger heading north bound on I 95 in Spotsylvania but cut off the chase because there was too much traffic further up the line, though troopers picked the chase back up, and that's when the driver of that Avenger broke through gates and drove the wrong way into south bound express lanes in the Dale City area. The Avenger collided head on with a pickup truck and then two other vehicles and burst into flames that you Driver of the Avenger was killed in her passenger ejected from the vehicle. She also died. Washington DC Breaking Record for Most 90-Degree Days
"Storm Team 44 day forecast with Amelia Draper today was the 27 out of 29 days, hitting 90 degrees or higher, which is a record here in Washington for any month of 90 degree days. The old record 25 days that back in July of 2000 and 11 now temperatures for the evening hours generally in the eighties, with overnight lows in the seventies.
