"P. battery cells the currents. Oh goodness me martin has said. Llp again on the podcast. But it's such an important chemistry and technology and if only they would put it in small shape city. 'cause you'd get them as cheapest petrol cars korean battery cell makers have been producing. Nc 'em cells nickel cobalt manganese. According to the korean media vo l. g. a. launching their own at f. b. battery cells next year They're going to be inserted into modules and they will be around two hundred and sixty watt hours per kilogram next year by combining the fbi. Cathode in the silicon ano- d- according to push vs now. Petro who writes pushy vis a brilliant writer on batteries go and subscribe to that blog and website. He's so good he says that. Nfc the cobalt free battery chemistry allows electric cars to be made as cheap as ice. 'cause at least in china Byu as i didn't know this byu is down to fifty five euros per kilowatt hour battery pack level by going sell two packs module. This that's mega. That's huge like none of the legacy comic is want you to know that they want us a thing that the batteries are still really expensive. But they're going to do some investment in a few years time bring it down. Then they'll sell you a cheap ebay and lg saying well. Hey we can make cheap cells. Byu saying hey we already make fifty five euros per kilowatt hour. It was a thousand euros but kilowatt hour going back ten years. The progress is just incredible. Well the upcoming end of patent restrictions is the reason why more companies aren't making these cells these restrictions coming to an end in twenty twenty two and with recent problems around some of the battery chemistries. I wouldn't be surprised for them to go for this super-safe very cheap slightly less energy dense but actually more durable chemistry and technology. That you and i could end up buying as much cheaper. And we want the european and the north american comic is to get on board not just because they using them in china and they're selling some cheapie vs tesla next in the news. Planning to invest eight billion euros into that battery plan a giga berlin to make the forty six eighty sells their own ones and at gigabyte lynn. They want some government help. The german government could well tip in one billion euros to tesla by the end of twenty twenty. "V. platform designed for small electric vehicles and reynaud says the new platform could be the key to unlocking affordable small electric cars. I'll tell you what the answer is the answer to small affordable. Electric cars is the p. Battery chemistry and it's out there right now. And he's about sixty dollars per kilowatt hour in the chinese markets however many of these european and us comic is one of the transition that quickly they want to go but not that quickly they wanna move to these not that quickly. So they're saying well. We can't make affordable cost for many many years to come. They could do it right now. The technology's out that is being done in john. our yep. the chinese names will eat lunch. So it's a real balancing act for particularly the european companies that tend to make more smaller city college. Because that's what we buy. Our roads are about two feet wide so says the new platform has a thirty three percents. Cost-saving over the current renos. Zoe which on his third iteration now according to also express when quizzed whether it would have one hundred and fifty kilowatt charging like the recently announced running again. Eight sec one of the bosses and run. I said i would say it will be the same or close to that which is wonderful news on a small city car like five. How quick do you need to charge. Occasionally road trip. It's fine hundred. Thirty kilowatts is still going to get town of of range back into that battery in in twenty minutes and when it arrives in a couple of time the you run i. Five will be more affordable rival for the likes of the honda and the mini if they even still on the market in two thousand twenty four they probably should be. Yeah they probably should be. Is i think that one through next great wall motors is a chinese company. That's turned up at i w munich. And they're showing off some things they're showing off the new aura brand and the way brand. Not why is in which w. e. y. Y is in weymouth. The chinese company wants to gain a foothold in europe. And with these prices and these specs offering a damn good shots or a cat is the first one we'll talk about the or cats is a compact own electric bev electric motor on the front axle. One hundred twenty six kilowatts of power nor to sixty two miles an hour or not one hundred kilometers is a point. Five seconds fine. Top speed of one hundred sixty k. p. h. fine battery size sixty three kilowatt hours. Wow and a range of four hundred kilometers on the wwl tests. Cycle eight looks stylish. It looks kind of retro. It's got the front if you squint a bit porsche about it. I mean if you really squint and close one but still right next diamonds in the news that done with plugging hybrids and leading the way to own. Electric future donnas focus on battery. Electric vehicles has a big impact on the current plugin hybrids which are pretty good. Infant is and must have been putting on some false charging and ccs sockets on that plug in hybrids as well. Which is i love relationship for me. Because they often don't charge too fast and people use the red dc fast charging infrastructure which is around at the moment. But hey if you can. I always say if you bought a car. And it's a plug sake on it. The you turn up to. You are entitled to plug in even if it means that somebody arrives with a pure electric. Just after and ca- charge much faster. And you know you could stick your plug in hybrid on ac. No that would be more polite but doing nothing wrong. Either way diner said you know what we've read the tea leaves. We've done with plugging hybrids no longer. Any need development on feds instead pure electric marcus schaefer. According to elect tribe is dime board member responsible for our anti and he says. Ira there'll be no further development of this technology as it was deemed transitional interesting. Yeah i mean plugging hybrids. I i you know depending on how you can see them as a transition technology as a gateway technology giving people a little taster. Would you like this one. You know. I once for free sir. Then you'll have to pay that kind of thing. You know what i mean. So yeah i get the argument. I don't know. I think if you have a plug in hybrid and keep it fully charged and to as many electric miles as you. Can they work really well. So many people don't use them like that and just carry around heavy batteries and motors and just get really bad mpg. So depends how you use them. Broadly they've done a great job d. Need them anymore. Not so sure. Next micro lino micro line. Oh showing off that tiny electric car and a scooter. There the show in munich to reveal their series production version of the micro line two point. Oh that's the electric mini bubble coughing. It's a quarter recycle. It's on sale in europe and it looks like the bmw izeta. I mean it really is just the sette. I've done how they get to make this and not be in lots of lots of trouble from. Bmw's lawyers he would probably not in the during hallow- can we have some money now. Place for copying out design well according to electric the single large front door. If you've seen this car whether it's the original version all the freakishly similar chinese version. Michelina what are they. Swiss austrian not chinese the front door. The whole front of the car opens up now in the original copy. The steering wheel came with it as well. But in the the steering wheel is attached. Actually to the to the floor and then you kind of straddle it you know. Put your legs either side. It will fit passengers and you enter from the front twenty. Four thousand people so far have placed a reservation for this. So someone somewhere won't sit and they're gonna make it. And i think it's obsolete gorgeous and brilliant and would i buy one maybe It's definitely gonna get some stairs. If you buy this you will be getting looked at. Let's hope it does go into production as soon as possible in those pre order holders. Get to drive that cows right coming up on the podcast but he soon. We'll talk them out. Lg developing cheaper batteries and tesla developing than nexgen batteries in europe. Stick around. that's coming up now. We'll talk about the bolts battery fire investigations responding to battery defects that cause a risk of fire and bolts. The national was it. Oh i know the all the american bodies but he's cool the national highway national highway traffic safety administration. It's up right. They told detroit knees. They don't have any open investigations into the fires with algae and gm but they are in touch with lg the battery makeup over the other vehicles that they've supplied that would be the worst case scenario any recalling all the boats but recalling anything with an algae battery in. There is no suggestion that they need to do that. And there's no suggestion that any other evey is affected at this stage. The federal agencies probe focuses on the gm vehicles and the battery cell supplied by l. g. cells get two modules modules. Get make two packs and it could be the whole battery. Pack that needs to be replaced under the rico staying on batteries and in south korea s k. innovation supplying batteries to china for the first time as kind of we'll have production capacity of fifty gigawatt hours in china within three to four years investing trillions of one in production facilities in china. That went down over the week breath on friday. Actually and that was damian. Lillard was going to ask for trade. Now damian lillard since has walked back and he has said that he has not requested a trade yet. That is not happened. And if he does he will do it to the face of the portland trailblazer black off. The trail blazers brass so their front office executives. They're coached their owner. All that stuff. And i respect that i respect de but this is big news. Daimler's is possibly on the verge of wanting a trade and that is huge huge news. Look dame lillard is a superstar. He is arguably the best shooter in the league. Has Giannis Antetokounmpo Earned More Respect During NBA Finals?

"Of jaanus. We have a lot to talk about what it when it comes to the greek freak because he is just one win away from winning his first. Nba finals but the two time. Mvp still hasn't gotten total respect around the league from his peers. Just last year james harden. Instead of the honest. I wish i could just run and be seventeen. And just don't like that takes no skill at all. I had to actually learn how to play basketball and how to have skill. you know. i'll take that any day. Well chris paul just last week said of his finals opponent quote he comes down there. He dunks his dunks. You don't more than he shoots a layup. I don't know about this bullshit and has earned more respect during these finals for me. I don't respect him anymore. Any less than i did going into the final. Skip for me for a guy that everybody says that he can't do and he doesn't. I think the biggest thing is to make a long story short skip. He can't shoot the ball kevin durant. He's not flashy with handling the ball. Like daimler steph curry. He shoot the then. I saw back shoes. Like james harden. He's not as accomplished or if charismatic is lebron james football. A lot of guys can't can't can't can't he's a two time league. Mvp he's a defensive player of the year and he's on the cusp of winning title and being finals. Mvp that's a hell of a carpenter for a guy that got a lot of kids.

Tesla Supercharger Factory Starts Production

"Next today. We have news on a tesla factory in china. Not giga shanghai. But tesla super charger factory. That we've been talking about for the last couple of months. Looks like that has now officially started production per jane. Shanghai on twitter tesla gains demonstrating incredible speed here with this project. Being launched less than six months ago previous reports had indicated that tesla intends to produce about ten thousand superchargers per year out of this factory which should allow for roughly. A doubling of super charger deployments in two thousand twenty tesla added seven thousand chargers but more than half of those came in q. Four so thirty eight hundred in q. Four if that cue for rate is annualized. That's about fifteen thousand per year but we don't necessarily know if tussles actually at that run rate for q four or if that was just stock that built up and was deployed in q four from super charger production. That have occurred earlier in the year. But roughly it looks like this should be a doubling of tusla super charger capacity in terms of new installs per year. If tesla can get this you protect your factory up to capacity and the next couple of quarters and if their capacity outside of this factory is something around fifteen thousand level. We could be in line for something near a doubling of the super charger network in two thousand twenty. One

"It's Morgan Daimler. And Morgan. I think right before we left off. You were given us some examples. And I'm trying to remember the examples of which cause I got. I just got Engulfed in thinking about all the different things you were talking about. Now I'm looking back to see Have I met a fairy along the way? So what were the examples? I'm sorry that you started. It is a lot Um eh, so fascinated already to really you're wasting their, um, different that they interact differently than humans. Put, um It would be. Another thing is The tend to be very particular about words like it. If you make a promise that that's it, it doesn't matter what happened. You know that you stick exactly to that. Oh, I'm a fairy. I agree. Yeah, that's not a bad bad way today. That's right, very into semantics. So, like the meanings of words, you have to kind of be careful how you Talk with them If you think you are, you know, encountering one um, you know, because we have a lot of things that we say that arm or expressions and literal in English. Like, Can I help you? Uh, he said, in a genuine way or sarcastic way to someone Um, But if you say that t something that sort of Not from this world or dimensions. Some people do argue that fairies are extra dimensional beings. Uh, sort of a modern take on Describing their nature what they are Um, you know, they'll take you very, very literally. And what you say. Mm hmm. They're kind of strange with like, If you borrow something from them, you're expected to repay it exactly. Um, but if they borrow something from you, they tend to over repay will give you back more than they took sort of a thing. Oh, okay. They can borrow money anytime. It's fine. Okay. Like that, Um And then you know there's there's things that fairies, you know, like, you're not supposed to eat food or drink anything. If they offer you because it'll kind of trap you. With them or em, bring you into their world sort of thing. Which is what? Yeah. Yeah, And that's something else that we kind of see a little bit of a crossover with some of the UFO and alien. Encounters. Um, There's been examples where people talk about aliens, offering them food or forcing them to have some sort of food when we see it with fairies as well. It was very there's this idea that it's sort of Connects you to them in some way for obligate you to them in some way. Okay. All right. Yeah. No, no free ferry cupcakes. I'll be back. Okay? I'm thinking this is they got rupees in there. What's going on? You know, that's uh okay. No food from anybody from now on, Okay, No free thinking I'm in the culinary world too. Yeah, exactly. No free samples. That's right. When you go toe Heck, when you go to these conventions and conferences that you know, there was always all try these old samples. Oh, my gosh. Okay. Okay. I'm writing this stuff. The modern Takes on the folklore that people will talk about that as long as you pay for it. Or you exchange something for it. You're fine. It's more if you take it and it's free. Or, you know, you take it enough sort of a context because then it would put you in there get you would owe them something. Or it would give them permission to sort of do whatever they want to do to you. Which is not a good thing. Okay? I got you. Okay. That makes sense. Yes. Hence the no free samples. Yeah. I've marked that one down like that. That like that. Well as you're talking about the difference between a fairies and E T s. What about the difference between fairies and ghost? Is there some sort of resemblance there or do people can you know? Because to me, it was still Tinkerbell. So this is a whole new thing now. It is for a lot of people. Um, and yet, I think, um, you know, part of why this was something that had particularly wanted to discuss. Discuss with you. Is that when I see people doing paranormal investigations or hear people talking about it, um there's not a lot of times that there's definitely a percentage of times I think to myself like, Oh, you're not. You're not dealing with a haunting You're dealing with fairies, Not the whole different, entirely different thing to be dealing with. Um, The thing with fairies is that in the folklore in anecdotal accounts They can pass invisibly around people. Um, the ideas that they have this ability to sort of confused. People senses. S so they can be there. And you just You won't see them. You won't be aware of them. So I think this is where the confusion was ghost sort of start that you have these beings around you that you can't necessarily see. Unless you happen to be someone who has a talent for seeing things that other people can't normally see. Um And It's not uncommon as I said, for people to be experiencing things that they should have put down is haunting sort of unexplained phenomenon. Um But it might not necessarily be a haunting the biggest difference between fairies and ghosts. Ghosts, of course, are generally you know the spirits of deceased humans. Berries or not. Um, fairies can be tangible and physical. They can interact with you. Just like another living human would. Um, a lot of the anecdotal accounts like it said in the beginning, or people who think they're dealing initially with other humans, and then Things kind of go sideways, and it was clear in this or not. Um Because they can also be around you. And you might not know that. Um, you know, when you have a haunting, there's certain sort of key things that I would look for Elektronik switching battery's draining, You know, there's a kind of Find that you have ghosts. Sort of scared around temperature drops. Objects moving usually slightly, but noticeably. Uh huh. When you have physical experiences with ghosts, it's usually relatively subtle. Or, um, relatively quick, You know, people describe feeling like a hand on their shoulder, their hair being pulled. Things like that. Um, when you have things like fairies going on Um you know the physicality? Of course. They can be a whole different thing. Um, but you kind of see other sorts of things happening. Um You can, of course here things when ghosts around. What was fairies attends to be, um, louder and easier here like everyone who's there would hear it. On and you don't need special equipment..

Mercedes reveals giant 56-inch, AI-enabled 'Hyperscreen' for upcoming electric car

"Listeners. It's brett molina and welcome back to talking tech. My co host. Mike cider is off today. Recently mercedes-benz announced plans for a fifty six inch curved screen that nearly spans the width of a new cars interior. That just sounds incredible. Saying it out loud. The hyper screen will debut the spring. And it's new electric sedan the mercedes benz s. It's part of a growing trend among automakers to make your car's function more like computers but are all these screens and other tech safe joining us now is money reporter and i believe green bay packers. Fan nathan bomi. Thanks for joining us brett. How are you. I'm good so you ask the question in your story about this topic and whether bigger is actually better what did you find out well. Fifty six screen is john. I mean we've never seen a screen like this in a vehicle and you know it depends on who you ask. Whether it's safe or not the mercedes benz says it safe and And safety advocates are concerned. I mean you know. The first company that really started to pioneer big screens and vehicles was tesla model s a luxury sedan and then later with the model three and other vehicles and they basically put a tablet screen at the center console in place of a lot of the old fashioned analog buttons but mercedes is taking this to a new level by basically extending the screen across the vehicle screen even now encompasses the instrument cluster. So this is a really a step toward bigger and bigger. And i think we're going to continue to see. Other automakers follow suit so it's weird hearing all these announcements about these giant screens and cars considering how much we've been told about smartphones in the dangers of having those and using those waller driving. How do automakers plan to tackle all these additional screens and cars. Well the most important thing is to keep people's eyes on the road that's really the challenge and so if there's a screening vehicle but you keep your eyes on the road it should be safe for the most part the problem of course with smartphones is oftentimes people are fumbling for them with their hands and they take their eyes off the road and then he ended up getting into an accident driver. Distraction is really serious crisis for this country and so we obviously want to avoid that here. Now when i asked the ceo of daimler on a conference call a couple of weeks ago how they incorporated safety concerns into the design of the hyper screen. He said that they actually designed it to ensure that people don't have to take the eyes off the road for example if ape. The passenger is looking at the screen. Has some sort of video plane on the screen In in front of them essentially in the front seat and the driver takes their eyes off the road and looks at the screen. The vehicle be able to recognize that. I've movement and stopped the film from airing on the front passenger seat Screen which is wild and then if you put your is back on the road than it keeps playing. This is some really high tech stuff. And you know we'll see if it works now at my understanding is that particular technology will not be in use in the us because of safety concerns here but it will be in use and other countries. I wouldn't be surprised if the regulations eventually change here to allow it so with all these fisted systems coming in cars. How long before this starts to change how we learn how to drive. I think it will you know. I think we're talking about things like augmented reality windshields being the next step. Where essentially you'll basically have a directions projected onto the screen that we if you've seen a new vehicle driven a new vehicle anytime recently you may have experienced what's called heads up display which is where. First Berlin Production Equipment, New Largest Supercharger Location, Daimler Emissions

"Our here, and today we have a super charger network update, which is nice. Little throwback for those of you that have listened to the podcast for a long time I used to do those every day at the start of the podcast. We also have some news on Berlin paint a small little updates slash rumor. I would call it on Battery Day and the news on Daimler Nikola Motor as. Well. Tesla stock with another really strong day to day even though it was relatively quiet news wise finishing up seven point two percent to four hundred and forty nine dollars seventy six sense that compared to the Nasdaq up one point two percent we'll start off with these super charger news. This is coming from Brian Mac se on twitter, who is a long-time listener and I believe Patriot supporter of. The podcast who happen to come across a super charger network location under construction near Firebaugh California. As far as I can tell, this location had not yet been noticed. So upon Brian tweeting these out Tesla Motors Club Forum members did some digging on this and they were actually able to find that the permit for the site as well as planning documents for sort of a conglomerate travel center at. This location those documents disclosed that Tessa. We'll have fifty six spots for Tesla charging at this travel center. Assuming each of those spaces has a super charger associated with it. fifty-six chargers would put this as the largest superchargers location in North America and possibly in the world surpassing cattleman city in the United States at forty chargers and believe in China, there are a couple locations that have fifty chargers. So. Pretty exciting this location is between San Francisco and La driven miles. It's about two hundred and thirty miles from La and about one hundred and fifty from San Francisco. It's not clear if these will be all version three superchargers but I'd have to imagine that they would be and as far as other features go. It looks like about two thirds of them thirty eight of the fifty six. will be pull through hopefully accommodating the use of a trailer and making things a bit easier for the cyber truck and potentially also accommodating the semi of course, cincy unveil of the semi. We haven't heard much more about Tesla's mega charger plans. So hopefully, we get a bit of an update on that during battery debt. Right next today is an update on Gigabytes Lynn gigafactory underscore four on twitter. Has Been following. The gigafactory development closely looks like some equipment has started to arrive, and some of that equipment carries branding for Geico Tikey Shah? which is a paintshop solutions provider based in Milan Italy. There's also some signing there that is co branded between that company and desolate GEICO take show describes their approach by saying quote innovation is our weapon of choice were constantly increasing the technological possibilities in. Order to meet the needs of the most demanding customers in a highly competitive sector and quote they also seem to be heavily focused on sustainability and they're their paintshop operations. They have a project called the party's project, and they say quote with the Party's project launched in two thousand, five Geico Kotecki show was the world's first company to offer zero environmental impact paintshop reducing consumption by seventy percent and. So. Without really knowing much more about the company does he pretty good fit for Tesla we know Tesla has pretty big aspirations with the shop and gigabyte Lin Yuan talked about it many times and even setting Matt aside, it's good to start to see some production equipment on the grounds of Giga Berlian and though I haven't seen it yet. Maybe this gives us another milestone to compare the progress with Giga Shanghai from what I can. Tell, it looks like paintshop equipment started being put in place at Giga. Shanghai. In early to mid August of two thousand, nineteen with production of course, then starting about four months later. So if that's the case, if Berlin falls a similar time line that could potentially project out to start production and January probably best to keep expectations for later than that but I do think it's helpful to keep an eye on how those timelines compare all Right next up today is something that could end up being completely nothing but I thought it was at least interesting enough to share earlier today Fred Lammert over at electric tweeted out a couple of images of him holding a pretty significantly sized battery cell and Fred Ask if anyone has seen this battery cell before or you have some information about them, please reach out to him. A says also by the way, this new cell May. Or may not have been made by Tesla I don't really have much speculation to add this. A couple of people on twitter were saying that it does look like a tablets design which we've talked about and past episodes. But really just pointing out to say could be something to keep an eye out for the next couple of days if electric is able to you dig up a little bit more information on whatever this ends up being. Last couple of pieces of news here. Today I on Daimler Daimler has reached a settlement with the US government to pay one and a half billion dollars and settlements and penalties to the US and California State to resolve allegations of Daimler using emissions test cheating software to conceal the actual emissions from vehicles even with the settlement, and despite the fact that engineers at the EPA found software designed to cheat the emissions tests. Damore denies wrongdoing saying quote as stated in the consent degrees the. Class Action Settlement the company denies the authorities allegations as well as the class action plaintiffs claims and does not admit any liability to the United States. California plaintiffs or otherwise and quote. So I don't know kind of disappointing to see a settlement of that nature that doesn't require the admission of fault with such seemingly strong evidence against Daimler right lasting today is a quick update on Nikola Motors. It sounds like from the comments yesterday that most of you preferred that I don't do significantly. Deep dive on this budget stick to the high level updates, which I'm totally fine with if Trevor Milton wanted to come back on the PODCAST, I would probably do that. Otherwise, we'll stick with these updates anyway today the Wall Street Journal and other outlets are reporting that the Justice Department has started to also investigate Nikola Motors due to the allegations that they had misled investors by making exaggerated claims about their technology I know that sounds similar to

"Now the man who reminds you it's probably not a good idea to have a president who thinks this is the world of sinus more Sinai it is in Texas it is now it's it's just signed multiple syllable the guy who thinks the sign is a plural of sinus scientists back to zero Daimler thinking three song and that is a all to herself for like yeah never seen you rehearsing opening I look at him I'll talk not only that Kelly made is real time you can tell he's not opening scientists has three syllables Sinai exactly sign up it's it's an area between Egypt and say Israel George yes yeah Sinai I'll go practice amount from China we make more so we won't be doing that George Jones would never said it is fine I usually done twenty seven years in canning and he'll be back next week spoke morning everybody is friends if you more everybody there said Wallace welcomed wheels for the Saturday morning and joining us in studio today probably the two biggest personalities I have on the show Kelly Wolfen burger the general manager paddy McKinney told a school company that's correct and thanks to come in at the last minute thank you for having me well I we had people book and at the last minute when I'm set up something came up I'll be I'll be the replacement it's been a fun morning there's been singing correct saying of words yeah Sinai yeah I Ananya Panday minor the general manager Freeman Toyota Freeman on a good morning good morning so I wanted to start off because as we add you will you want to say we're coming out of the pandemic but obviously the news this week is it's getting worse again however in terms of the automobile industry it's stunned even me how many cars we sold when all the dealerships are locked down of the service although Callaway Yukon only because because in calling county they didn't require dealerships because right so your clothes for bill bit then you opened yeah I mean we we reduce the amount of people we had in store so we stayed open the whole time but it was just a a reduced staffing level you it's the only place I've been to where half the chairs have been removed that's correct but in storage yeah yeah and then a date in your case you had a very very good month we did but the second we unlocked the front doors of the new car showrooms and used car showrooms sales went through the roof they did it was very very surprising yeah with the uncertainty that seems to be out there according to the media I think for some people there are there is there are no doubt I don't want to discount that at all we were just extremely surprised at the months the last two months that we've had yeah you like went through the roof and used car sales we did and the month earlier when everybody was closed and everybody's going I don't know what to do because we're not selling any used car right and everybody's gone the auctions are close use cars aren't selling scared to death used cars actually took off faster the new cars yes yeah yeah we saw that across the board same thing as pre owned cars the sales were a lot quicker thank you thank you now I've got one person's showdown Lancaster classic Buick GMC in Arlington it's like they skated through this and never missed a beat I sold more new cars and they sold the year before I think total new and user down like ten cars yeah and then they said of all time record for used cars last month unbelievable well no because two months ago we're scared to death what are we gonna do we got too many cars now we're going wow it's summer how we gonna get through this where can we get more yeah how do I get more cars yeah one new case Kelly I think Volkswagen actually open the main plant at Wolfsburg right but then shut back down because they said the dealers were placing any orders writer me right as if they're not here well and we will still be the cars yeah then Mexico I think only re opened on the seventeen correct so what you've got how many cars in stock now new about a hundred and ten which is a good number which is a good number but I don't go into September yeah I don't have as many coming in and I I need a lot more coming and how many would you say have coming in that will be here in the near future about twenty twenty to thirty let's say this year this year well I I do have a lot that'll come in there there at decide I'm teasing you please don't make me cry this early in the morning at you've got a hundred ten in stock now yes which I'm crying now lance I'm simply pointing out to the audience typically everybody rushes in in August absolutely to get the deals before the new model year comes out in fact July may be this year's August yes it might be because of what you have in stock which you know is on the way yes in August people may be rushing in and lock the cars could be Carl car dealerships could be light that is correct yeah I I would bet on that yeah yeah yeah well you and I said down I want to say at the beginning of last month data we pulled up the inventory of every Toyota dealer in the state of Texas yes and they're only appear to be too they had a strong enough inventory to get through my engine without any problems yes you and another unnamed combative Petr many miles away that's right and that was it that was it and now we're all struggling for cars one hundred percent yeah begging for them pleading for them so you got a few months ago that wasn't the case it was pump the brakes yeah I don't know what's going to happen well and when that happened we we got lucky and it was lucky it was nothing more than that when everyone started turning them down and just said you know if they shut these factories to him we're in trouble send them to me and so we just took the stuff they got turned out okay and it carried a story he said the other day you book like seventeen deals yes in a day and fourteen of more your trucks trucks via a most of more to come see us he said because that's what we have we've got a corolla mature this Tacoma making a deal don't rule that out no don't be our people around the country they'll take the truck off in the back and pretend it's okay rock more and that's right Kelly from West Texas AM she really knows trucks off but that being said that is a lot of the commas for one day's worth the sale it is it is an Antonio is open yeah they are well the tundra truck is being back being built but it's slower to come back then some of the other lines for whatever reason well maybe because that was the big push with GM and Ford and Chrysler was at zero for seventy two zero for eighty four on their.

"All right so there's been a digital shift in schools in the past few years many schools even launch soon and I pass in the textbooks so what's the answer to kids learn the best way digitally or with a book well science says that there was no real difference in results for just over fifty percent of students but a third performed better after taking a test on paper more than a thousand ten year old kids took to comprehensive tests went on screen and the other one is in Plano paper so the take away is that a child's reading ability is worse when using a screen versus a Booker tale and this is in spite of children growing up accustomed to all the screens all right back to the phones we go and let's see we have Jeff in Missouri hi there Jeff all right eleven Daimler talked to the I have and I have a couple questions the one actually I wanted to start up a pot cash or you know all of us at the call of duty okay as maybe but I'm not sure how to do that and so what's your bright idea how do you how are you going to change up the world Jeff well I want to capture what's happening to America on a like a daily basis but I wanted to put some humor into it that I don't want to be so serious that you can't laugh I I get ya I'm you know little people I like to smile and laugh every day if I can nine and then there's another day that I have yeah dot com I don't know what type of you know the quickness of Bonnie when I needed you know how the patent of the bin the show's name or the email address for the deal arguing about currency so we're starting from the very beginning okay yeah I'm on so let's let's talk numbers okay right now there are I don't know I think the last time I heard there is one there are one point two million podcasts okay and there's about two hundred of them that actually are making money I mean two hundred thousand so two thousand and one point two million and that's because people see people start a podcast Jeff and then they burn out because this is something it's a commitment you have to do this every week trust me there are some ways I don't want to do one but you have to do it these people getting used to it okay and so yes so you start formulating your idea podcast length should be anywhere between twenty minutes and forty minutes after that people die down okay is they don't have the attention span and so you start looking at the equipment and are certain things that you need I mean obviously you need a you know a decent computer decent microphone maybe a pop filter in a win win screen headphones an amplifier Mike stands you know cameras and things like that R. and then you put your podcast out there he's a service like lips and that's who we use and they put your podcast on every platform aren't so automatically you'll be on apple and Google music and Spotify and Pandora and list goes on and on right stitcher okay so now you have to start building up your audience if you build it they don't come okay it takes a lot of work it takes a lot of marketing and then after you get a you need to have a like like saying are you a good numbers like a million downloads a month then you can start making some serious money and how you make money is on a cost per thousand so it could be anywhere between five dollars to twenty five dollars for every thousand listens you're gonna make five to twenty five dollars for every commercial okay so what I just gave you is like podcasting in sixty seconds or less okay so so now it's like okay how do I start okay you can start by getting an audience and start developing an audience just because you have podcast is when they're going to find you so you need to start having an audience first okay and so maybe what it is that you start a Facebook group and with that Facebook group you say okay here's sixty seconds of what's going on in America right now and I will make you smile at the end just what you said to me I think it's fabulous you can also do that on you too and you can get started for free and the beautiful thing about YouTube is that it doesn't cost you anything right I and you don't need to have a whiz bang set up at least look decent of course but it doesn't need to be broadcast ready and so you start developing a following and with a website with a blog and on Twitter and on Facebook and Pinterest wherever you can put your social media flag because like what I don't want you to do and trust me because I I've seen too many people do this is they go all into podcasting and then once they get into podcasting they realize that it's a lot harder than they thought and then they fail I don't want you to fail once you start small which you start with a simple YouTube channel work out the Kinks start getting followers and we've got some tips on the website to get you started on that take a look at any of any questions after that I'm totally here for you I want you to be successful job and I'm going to help you get there and thank you so much for your call all right if you're working from home you don't need or want everyone listening in on your phone calls are no what you watch your being disturbed by.

"Trailer is not crazy well I mean look it's highly edited by I mean even if it's highly edited he still you know mentioned a couple of things it's kind of kind of weird sorry and it was put out Daimler issues put out in my April fifteenth of this year and already has a million views yeah you're right I mean what he's saying I mean and what the idea of a pandemic has been out there for a long time and you know if in fact I mean that I don't take anything away from the hearing this of that please don't misunderstand me I mean that was that is I certainly didn't think Kanye west was like a a future thinker on this you know I mean this is not fair yeah but I but I just know that I mean it is definitely been talked about and it's it's definitely been out there and because we look at what what's happening in our history with it with the ball and sars and murders and you know so these things and you know they were there was a division of government dedicated to it you know I mean it wasn't really well funded but I was dedicating of course it was you know dismantled with the new administration but the point is that the it was there there it was on people's radar and and and so the idea it looks Stephen King will hold is Stephen King along like a really eerie thing what was it called dumb god Gino what was it called it was that although it was guard stand off or something like that feeling which contained the stand yet thank you the stand and the stand is all about him it's all about like a a military what am I trying to say who you know when I'm trying to say David Gina thank you thank you okay so it's all about it's about those military labs a bio lab and something gets out but was so the idea this is always existed in sci fi and literature and now in in real life as a result in a way it's out there in the zeitgeist and so but please don't misunderstand me to hear those words coming out of Tonya west yeah it's definitely a little bit the same guy who is three days ago just talking or whatever he's got a billion dollars we want to make sure he's got a billion dollars all that's great about it look he'd you member when he was he was wanting to borrow a billion dollars from I think it was gates and say your let me a billion dollars on make a fifty billion yeah it was kind of weird right is a bike right before he had a break down where he went into UCLA hospital five to be fair we've done that we all got a billion but we said Hey look let me give me that what you've got and let me turn that into real money like everybody who's ever been to Vegas has borrowed money from somebody nine you know if one of the signs this is this is kind of this always makes me crazy but there's ten signs that you're addicted to gambling right and they're all B. S. which may be part of the problem as well but I one of the signs is have you ever borrow money from a friend of yours to the gamble and the answer is hell yeah right you always hear fear in Vegas and you know you're tapped out go ahead give me a couple of Bucks I'll pay back tomorrow when you think of an example of my own money but you know what they they should look I'd like to re write the the rules and the you know the suggestion that your if they could be gambling like instead of have you ever borrowed a couple hundred Bucks my friend to gamble that that's a warning sign I'd like to replace that with I had as a dealer ever given you a bust card unity and you didn't call for it and you jumped over the table and killed her that's a problem that's not there yet but much Hey we got an email from a guy here and I'm I'm just reading this is came from beliau and I believe it came originally from Vanessa but it says here man named Gary just called said you want to speak the con way because he witnessed UFO in Arizona and even took pictures of it he said he tried to call the eight hundred number several times it was busy if you guys want to call in here yeah maybe let's let's get this guy and see if he is you know I've got everything here right now he's in the nine four nine area code which I believe is Orange County I will come back and I talked to a guy who has pictures making shows where those pictures are and how it is to see something that you cannot identify them it's got to be pretty jarring you know I mean you know and uneasy you go to sleep that I go what the hell was that I have no idea what that was yeah I'm sorry yeah let's go I will come back in listen I do store we're live on camera and six forty more now would you so the nineteen is killed one thousand people in LA county bringing the total number of cases to twenty thousand nine hundred seventy six some of that increase does reflect that we have now started doing testing both for a symptomatic it's symptomatic employees and residents at our skilled nursing facilities county health director Dr Barbara Ferrer says among the deaths four hundred sixty two were residents and workers in nursing homes she says one hundred thirty three thousand people in the county have been tested with fourteen percent of them testing positive this report brought to you by Mike diamond the smell the plumber state officials have shared a more detailed for stage blueprint for re opening California we're in stage one stay at home except for essential workers stage two involves re opening nonessential businesses California public health director Dr Sonia Angell says stage three will focus on higher risk activities like getting your hair cut getting your nails done doing anything that has very close inherent relationships with other people or the proximity is very close it will be we need a very thoughtful process to ensure that people don't put themselves at great risk in doing those activities stage four would involve starting up the highest risk activities anything with large crowds such as concerts and conventions for map of all court cases in southern California you can check out our website KFI am six forty dot com he worked coronavirus and speaking of space an asteroid discovered by scientists at NASA's jet propulsion lab in Pasadena more than twenty years ago is about to win his past earth the approach early tomorrow morning is considered close by space standards so I just say the space rock will get within about three point nine million miles of our planet the same asteroid won't come around again until twenty seventy nine and course light has announced a new plan to provide cold beers to people across the country during the pandemic the beer maker tweeted its new campaign called America hash tag could use a beer people can go to course lights official Twitter account and tell them who they think deserves a free six pack the campaign will continue until a million dollars worth of beer has been claimed and there's a question Baldwin park on the ten this one is a brand new when involving a big rig that's on its side ten eastbound.

"Good to get a good laugh in the morning and that's why we like to get Daimler Greta in here and get a good laugh he's the guy that runs things around here and so we'll try him out here the question is day yes what do we drive on a parkway park on a driveway we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway you know I don't know I don't know okay that was our good laughed for today I love it I love that too I hear it sometimes you walk down the hall in these five six rooms away and you're gonna hear rolling through there and if you can get halfway through a joke you aren't even to the punch line and he starts laughing that's the best part about it Hey guys it's great to have around here keep everybody popped up here for sure yeah we got there there is an election coming up in November still in this thing will be over by November we can pretty well assure you of that but this is the people who bet on elections the odds makers and there and you might have to explain some to us here but I'm ready presidential election odds are Donald Trump at five to six and Joe Biden at five to four so as I understand it that means if you bet six dollars on Donald Trump you'd win five back if you bid for on Biden you'd win five back is that right the it always confuses me this way with the fractions that I'm not sure that's right I can't confirm that no this is five to six five to six and five to four and then you drop down number three is Andrew Cuomo that everybody's been talking about maybe running in becoming a candidate at twenty five to one Charmaine's only five to one means if it is you with twenty five dollars on your one dollar under one dollar bed and Bernie Sanders is there to twenty five to one he's pretty well out of it but Biden if you bet for dollars you win five dollars with the president if he bets six the only one five back so he's the big favored to win hello Biden has closed the gap on him in a big way Mike pence necks of forty to one Nikki Haley sixty six to one Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama are at a hundred to one and then you got mark Cuban and there are two hundred and fifty to one then you got the Democrat nominee odds Biden at one the eight show if you bet eight dollars you win one dollar right S. yeah that makes sense yes Andrew Cuomo at fourteen to one which means he's not got a very good chance to be a nominee Bernie Sanders sixteen to one Hillary twenty five to one and Michelle Obama at fifty to one now here's the important one because it looks pretty certain that Joe Biden is going to be the guy running against trump but the Democrat V. P. odds R. camallo Heris at two to one so she's pretty heavy favorite to be the vice presidential candidate oh sure it's going to be a woman on a on Michelle to put your money into sellable are you still put your money on Michelle Obama to make it as the democratic nominee if they have a really tied up convention that could happen I thank although she was only a hundred and one odds well the nominee odds she's fifty to one but you got to come up camallo Heris two to one odds Amy clover shar five to two Gretchen Whitmer already knows she is four to one C. Cortez Masto I don't know who these people are Stacey Abrams at one oh eight to one Elizabeth Warren is down a nine to one Hillary twenty five to one along with Michelle Obama and couple of others I don't know but anyway not much has changed I think if you're a betting person you've got a bet that Biden is going to be the candidate unless something really bizarre happens between now and the election and then it's going to be a toss up as to who's going to win in November I guess flower bet me I would you bet on that's who's gonna win the general election in November yeah it's really tough to determine right now I think that what is happening right now with the corona virus pandemic and how the president continues to navigate through this and I think he's done a good job recently here as we seem to be more put together as far as the connection between government state local so I it's really hard to determine that that right now I think yes still yes but these next this next month two months it's going to be very important for Donald Trump I agree with that I saw the survey and receive all of time I don't know if they have time to get in all here but the Tampa mayor has gotten great numbers and I knew Florida survey this is thirty two hundred and forty four registered Florida voters and this was taken last week found the decision by both the Sanderson trump to refrain from imposing strict sanctions on public gatherings until last week in order to keep businesses operating may have cost them politically I'm reading this now the poll shows meanwhile the city survey Jane castor and mayor of tamper tamper had the largest approval rating for handling of the pandemic with a seventy eight percent ruble rate among Tampa voters with only eight percent disapproving and the it was as far as the president's concerned it it's interesting that the wording of that poll because as far as his handling and when he shut things down the president was over this was was on top of this wave before a week ago he gave the recommendations that itself for the state governments to decide what they want to do on a state and local level as far as shutting it down but but president trump was of was on top of shutting things down and listen to Dr Fauci way before a week ago yeah hi in fact I was against it being done at the federal level I thought it should be done at the state level because some states are more prone to the corona virus than other states and you're put on line put him all together and I thought it was kind of unfair but nevertheless we've got to rush to the survey will get around.

"Suited for superintendent Daimler well this is a fact standardized testing in anyway I'm not sure when they were scheduled thank you again great question so the window first North Dakota state assessments opens this week and so we have been on communicating with the U. S. department of ed and the U. S. department of ads position is they will work with states who will then work with school districts on an individual basis so we have put out information about that on our website in the case of a of a long term closure we will certainly work with our school districts and our U. S. department head to meet the state assessment requirements okay I see no other questions again I want to thank everybody that is here today and has a message going out to St Ann or code again part of what makes North Dakota great is the people that we have in our state that know how to respond and persevere through challenges it's been here since before our state was founded this is an unusual situation because of the tremendous amount of uncertainty we know what to do in a flood we know what to do we know what to do with a blizzard we know what to do with the drought because we've maybe been through before this is new territory for us as we head in to trying to deal with us the a global pandemic and when and how it might reach the state of North Dakota and and and what levels and what scale when it does it hit it has arrived at least in a small scale but when it does arrive you know how do we manage best manage it so again I want to just thank everybody for their the the support the prayers of the the ideas the communication and we we do have an opportunity to really come together hi yeah as in communities in in in in in in as families we have an opportunity to come out of this stronger than we did before and so again if the people are wondering what to do when they're isolating at home I would say never been a better time to be home isolating I mean with the available online resources that are available take a master class read a book start exercising eat healthier I mean this is it you know this is an opportunity for people to reboot in ways when maybe some of the complexity that we just day to day today have been charging through goes a lot of our lives and for those people that are in the middle of managing this crisis like a some of us up here are I would just recommend it for people to to honestly take a look at this and see how this could be a positive for them to get a reset or rebuild relationships you know write a letter to thank that person that you never had time to write and tell them how grateful you are for what the the impact you made your life but there's an opportunity for us to to really take this and not turn this into something positive in his superintendent based lawyer said as adults sometimes we think about the impact to the amount of fear that's running around in the new behaviors with the up over a hundred thousand K. twelve students in those over forty five close to forty five thousand kids in child care how we message this to them in making sure that they understand that their risk from this from this is actually less than the actual flu is important for us to make sure that we're not you know creating concern trauma and fear in the children of our state it because we have a responsibility to them to message accurately to them as well and so with that let's all keep working towards a state of calm let's all spend every minute we have to plan smartly let's get this spike a lower to make sure that our health care providers can take care of our elderly in those most in need and let's come through this better than any other state in any other country I know of anybody can it can be North Dakota let's go do it thank you you've been listening to governor Doug Burgum along with superintendent Kirsten Baesler from Bismarck North Dakota farmers help putting on a press conference tonight letting us know that there are changes coming to K. through twelve education statewide schools will be closed for one week this is not an indefinite closing as of this time is just for one week North Dakota schools were set to be off on Thursday and Friday I anyway for a long weekend and that we're adding three days to that the reason that they're going just one week they hope to get better data through this week and that will allow them to if needed make better plans long term Burgum said there are one hundred ten thousand students in school every single day he says there's new information from the CDC more restrictive on big gatherings fifty or more and these actions today they are just trying to do what they can to slow down the pace of the spread the department of public instruction is having a conference call at eight fifteen tonight with all the superintendents questions around school to Trish and special education many things obviously to be figured out and there's also going to be a nine o'clock a dial into that with medical providers across the state Burgum said there are even fake maps out there circulating by foreign nationals to spread fear Kirsten Baesler said she's working at a food distribution plan for kids who may not get meals at home these actions do not apply to daycare or pre kindergarten as they are not run through the school's Bergen says the decision of the Minnesota made earlier today did not affect their decision and he finished by saying we know what to do in a flooded a blizzard this is a little harder to get our hands around but it's a great opportunity to reset relationships regain that balance if we've got a little more time on our hands and eyes to make sure we're not spreading trauma and fear with our kids their risk is less with the flu then it is the rest is less with this than it is with the flu Scott I'm seeing a lot of comments coming in to the newsroom here and also on the Facebook feed from that the department health put out I think the overwhelming consensus that I am seeing is people think it's a smart response it's not an overreaction it's let's take a week or so to figure some things out and make ourselves a planned but certainly if you take a look at the trend here it would be really surprised I think the school is gonna be going on a week from tomorrow in North Dakota I think that's fair but I'd also say I think it it is when those things right now we should they're trying to predict a gas I you know well I says how it's going to be it is all this is not normal we don't know a lot about this virus you know a lot of these things are happening first line first and then we don't point teams in this country I mean I did that you know it's it's very very rare you know somebody might travel to you know the rainforest or something and come back and they'll be calling him I'm talking to this degree never so I'm I'm kind of you know committed to just saying it is what it is much I hate that term and you got to trust the people are are getting ahead of this and again at the if I would give any advice err on the side of caution rather than under reacting because at this point you know I think were were deep enough in this with the so many tentacles of the end of the day to day life of America being touch that that we just got to ride it out and that we we can't predict what's gonna happen five days now I think the people making decisions tonight don't even know what life is going to look like a couple day remember a week ago we were talking about man I hope this doesn't change March madness the basketball tournament and now here we are seven days later we're talking about no gatherings over fifty across the state of the United States it's our across the country it's amazing how things have changed so fast and it feels like there's this tidal wave of a growing emotional let's be safe which is great but it is definitely change the way we live our lives no question about that meanwhile the death count from corona virus is abysmally small compared to every other health ailments in the country right now right it is very very small back half of the number is from a nursing home in Washington state one half of the deaths in the entire country from one place in Washington state a a nursing home now is that going to go up of course is it going to go up more than the flu has I in the past more than H. one in one in the Obama years early in the nine there was ten thousand thirteen thousand deaths depending on who you believe in the United States and the three hundred to four hundred thousand nationwide I'm sorry worldwide from the from the swine flu does anybody remember school being closed for the swine flu does anybody remember it March madness being close this one flew you know and and and and you can say well then why are we overreacting I don't know that we are I think we're trying to do is save lives and the and and recognized in the places where there hasn't been actions taken things of spike to the point of tested and in some cases broken the health care system we don't want that to happen here so keep the erring on the side of caution as far as I'm concerned we have certainly set a new bar for how we react to health concerns in our country your rights got twelve thousand five hundred sixty nine that was a deaf girl from swine flu we are nowhere near that right now it feels like Armageddon right now so we're certainly sending us setting up a new playbook for how these things are handled in the future yeah absolutely and don't forget that you know to the extent this particular no of coronavirus swine flu is a is the problem this year the number one as the climate gets warmer it takes out the flu including this one we believe and and and also if you look around the world the warmer climates do not have as much of a problem as the colder climates do that they'll have a virus by this time I'm sorry backs that's a nation by this time next year to take on the virus and dental plans are being implemented to be able to move that out as fast as possible make a huge difference as with many flus okay I find a new vaccination and and the people protect themselves we have salute Lee all right now with that we're gonna return you to regular programming here at this time to repeat the events of the day Moorhead schools announced earlier today that they will be closing effective immediately adding Monday and Tuesday to a governor Wallace had suggested closing on Wednesday for a two week period so they can kind of do a reset there and figure out how to set up online learning the attention coming from the governor's office for Minnesota was that online learning would be the method of teaching and learning for the foreseeable future that's the Minnesota side and then in Moorhead they said we're gonna go Monday and Tuesday as well North Dakota a different story a more conservative you again will be a different situation only one positive test as opposed to thirty five in Minnesota in North Dakota there's going to be a one week break from school classes will be canceled buildings will be closed no activities no programs of any kind for one week and most of.

"Uh-huh. Prom wondering I'm David Brown and this is business wars daily. It's another Monday friends how you doing well hopefully better than the CEO and chairman of Volkswagen German prosecutors have charged chief executive officer Ds and Chairman hans-peter Putsch wjr with attempting to manipulate the stock market prosecutors say that in two thousand fifteen these two executives as well as former w CEO Martin winterkorn hid from shareholders the knowledge that the US was investigating the company for cheating on diesel emissions in so doing the three. VW leaders falsely propped up the company's share price according according to prosecutors they've also indicted former CEO winterkorn. If you're hazy on the details let me remind you where all this started back in September number of two thousand fifteen the US Environmental Protection Agency announced it had been investigating Volkswagen for installing software that made the vehicles falsely pass emissions tests tests on the road there diesel emissions were far higher than regulators allowed the cheating affected. Some eleven million vehicles and their drivers consumer boomer had believed. VW's claims that their cars were environmentally friendly. German prosecutors say the three charged executives knew of the US investigation months months before the EPA September Twenty fifteen announcement. They say that the VW leaders should have disclosed the US investigation to shareholders in the spring under the German law. It's a crime not disclose major financial risks to shareholders. BWI share price plummeted forty percent when the news broke today the scandal has cost the company more than thirty billion dollars in penalties CNN reports Volkswagen also owns Audi Bentley Bugatti Lamborghini and Porsche Porsche. Some Audi and Porsche models were among those rigged with the emissions cheating software. Volkswagen has been attempting to overhaul it sullied image and transform itself itself into a clean climate-friendly car company. It's been developing a new fleet of all electric vehicles under the model name ide- Three in Europe along with the forthcoming idea eighty four in America the VW's are intended to be sold at moderate prices to middle income drivers but these new changes make it harder for the automaker to put the scandal. Oh behind it. Furthermore shareholders have sued for damages of more than ten billion dollars. Volkswagen and its executives say the charges have no merit and both the the CEO and the chairman will keep their jobs according to the New York Times this means VW leaders will be defending themselves against criminal charges at a crucial time time just as the company is trying to transform itself if convicted all three men could face prison time former CEO. Martin winterkorn is already facing fraud odd charges stemming from the emissions cheating itself. It wouldn't be hard to imagine that the scandal would be a boon to rival German automakers however Diamond Daimler Benz maker of the Mercedes Benz is also under a diesel tainted cloud last week. It agreed to pay a fine of close to a billion dollars for selling over polluting putting diesel cars German authorities found the digne-les-bains had installed emissions cheating software similar to that used by Volkswagen into about two hundred eighty thousand Mercedes Benz ends vehicles the US Department of Justice continues to investigate the full extent of daimler-benz deception in the US Fiat.
