"And those episodes actually performed some of our worst performing episodes. So I think a lot of the illusion is if I can get gary on my show, he's going to promote it to his audience and then I'm just going to get this flock of new subscribers but Gary v's famous because he creates his own content. So he's busy promoting his own content any should be so he's not gonNA give he might do favor of being on your show like he did for for me, but he's certainly not going to spend any energy promoting that content maybe fifty people end up seeing it because he puts it in. An instagram story or I get a cameo in daily series. But it's much smaller than you think and so to build your entire strategy on what influence or can I get on my show as opposed to how can I actually interview the practitioners at companies that can legitimately make a buying decision for my product or service that's a much smarter play. The content's going to be way relevant to the other people that you want listening to the show, and that relationship can actually turn into revenue for you. Yeah. I made check off a life goal for meeting a man crush like Gary fee which I like you have. Readily, admit that. Super inspired by his work and yet great to have him interviewed. If you're an advocate for your audience and I love that you talk about being an advocate for your audience. I've talked a lot about this on this show. Jordan Harbinger talked about that on the first episode it's just so critical that we're always thinking about the audience and thinking about how we can serve them providing them with actionable tactical. Apply, right and Area B may provide a few of those but he may be promoting something. He may be talking about something else and he may only give us a certain amount of time right I. Know You had a limited amount of time for your interview with him. Let's talk about the landing guests part of this whole equation 'cause. Outline a seven part system and I'M NOT GONNA, ask you to recite all unless unless you can which by all means go for but maybe some highlights I, love the tips that you gave and so I'm curious what your suggestions are. Yeah. So so you've got to be thoughtful about the subject line and particularly the I. I don't even know if I talked about this in the book, but like looking at your email through the Lens of how the person on the other end is going to see it on their phone. License. If I'm working on a subject line, I'll literally send it to myself. Long. Maybe it gets truncated and mobile maybe now I think on some phones now at truncates. So it goes doesn't trunk as it drops to the next line, but actually like writing out the email, sending it to myself in seeing like, okay what's the first sentence? What do they see in that? For Sentence? What do they see in the subject line and I'm looking for is This going to be something that's going to make them want to engage with it. "Hi I'm Vanessa. Richardson and this is colts. Podcast original this is the fourteenth episode in our Daily Series on the strange prophecies made by different cults and their leaders throughout this month. Were taking a daily look at the myriad of apocalyptic predictions to try and uncover. What makes these revelations so appealing? I'm here with my co host. Greg Paulson everyone today. We're examining Charles. Manson a failed musician turned cult leader. Who CLAIMED TO BE JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF? He called his followers. The family in promise that they'd rule the post apocalyptic world after a massive race for destroyed civilization in the nineteen sixties. Charles Manson was an aspiring musician living in Los Angeles but unlike other music Aficionados Manson didn't just love pop for its beats and lyrics. Rock and roll hits spoke to him literally. Manson reportedly believe that songs like the Beatles skelter contained hidden references to a coming race war. Although the tune is actually about a whirling amusement park ride Manson took it to mean that a war between people and white people would destabilise American society. The fight would culminate in a vicious slaughter. According Manson black people would kill every white person in the United States except for him and his followers. Who would ride out the combat in an underground bunker? At the end of the battle Manson's cult called the family would emerge and rule over the survivors. Atlantic says all this sounds. Manson was a master manipulator. The family fully believed as claims about the coming war as well as his assertions that he was. Jesus Christ unquestioningly. They prepared for the prophesied apocalypse. Manson insisted that the fighting would break out any day. But by the summer of nineteen sixty nine there was still no race war in America hoping to get things moving. He ordered his followers to murder. The white residents of one zero zero five zero Cielo drive. They did so just after midnight on August ninth then dressed the crime scene to make it look like the militant black. Panthers had committed the homicide the next night he ordered his followers to kill Lino and Rosemary Labianca a couple living on waverly drive after the murders Manson pocketed rosemary's wallet hoping to Lebed in a predominantly black Los Angeles neighborhood and point suspicion toward the People. Who lived there but the police weren't fooled. They were aware of the family and rated Manson's compound numerous times for thefts by winter. They've made the connection between the Doomsday. Cult and the spate of Los Angeles killings in December Manson and several followers were arrested and tried for the Tate Labianca killings on January twenty fifth nineteen seventy-one Charles. "Hi listeners welcome back to cults daily every day in April we're breaking down. Various predictions made by different leaders as society approached the year. Two thousand there was worry about a y two K bug that might crippled technology but there was also fear that cults with Doomsday Prophecies would do whatever it took to fulfill them. We hope you enjoy the episode. Be Sure to come back tomorrow for a brand new installment of cults daily. Listen Freon spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. On December thirty first nineteen ninety nine people all over the planet gathered to ring in the new millennium millions of voices join together to count down the seconds and celebrations continued long into the night but for some the year two thousand was terrifying prospect survivalists than evangelical alike in the Western World. Warned that the second the clock struck midnight. Catastrophic computer crashes would begin self proclaimed experts claimed airplanes would suddenly be flying blind and warned that money in electronic bank accounts would disappear a few even believed Jesus Christ himself would descend from the heavens and that the new year would be humanity's last the apocalyptic scenarios predicted by. These doomsayers were varied and far-reaching. But all of the suppose calamities were known by a single name. Y. Two K. Hi I'm Vanessa. Richardson and this is colts. Apar- cast original. This is the twenty seventh episode in our Daily Series. On the strange prophecies made by different colts and their leaders throughout this month for taking a daily look at the myriad of apocalyptic predictions to try and uncover. What makes these revelations so appealing? I'm here with my co host. Greg Poulsen everyone. Today's discussing Y. Two K. as the year two thousand approached many worried that the computer programs that keep our world running and banks airlines and government would be disrupted by a technical glitch in the midst of the growing public fear several fringe groups took advantage of the pandemonium to make predictions on an apocalyptic scale fears about y two. K began as early as the mid eighties because computer storage at the time was costly. Many programs recorded dates using only the last two digits of the year for example. Nineteen eighty-five was simply stored as eighty five. This meant that the final two zero in the year two thousand looked exactly like those in the year. Nineteen hundred to software. Applications Tech experts warned that the glitch could result in confusion and system crashes worldwide wants. The date changed on January. First though the problem was identified well in advance. Many industries did not bother investing in solutions until the late nineties. The last minute moves to prevent impending disaster led many to worry. The problem would not be fixed in time. Doomsday's capitalized on the hysteria. Fanning the flames of paranoia to advance their own agendas. It particular libertarian. Writers like Kenneth W Royce and Gary North warned that government social programs in the United States like social security could be at risk rice even wrote a book called surviving. Doomsday in it. He advised readers to stock up on food and water in advance of a worldwide economic chateaux. Meanwhile Gary North made similar claims on his website in one of his posts subtitled the year the earth standstill. He predicted months before January. First two thousand. The world's stock markets will have crashed. Who IS GOING TO LEAVE? His money in his bank thinks his banks computer is not reliable. Other figures. Foreign that the Y. Two K. bug was the beginning of a religious Armageddon Reverend Jerry. Falwell proclaimed y two K may be God's instrument to shake this nation to humble the station he also stated that the event could start a revival that spreads over the face of the earth before the rapture of the church. No matter what form the fearmongering took it succeeded in amplifying the messages of these fringe groups. It allowed them to peddle their books and videotapes to profit in the short term because the Y2K glitch was a legitimate. Technical Concern. Caught like figures. Were able to seize on cherry-picked statements from experts and misrepresent the scale of the problem. Naturally there're prophecies all fit exactly within their existing beliefs hardcore Christian groups saw the coming day of reckoning as Biblical radically. Communists pointed to the problem as verification of their distrust of the government by the time the clock struck midnight on January. First two thousand. They had already gotten what they wanted. Their products were sold and their public. Profiles were augmented. Of course there are warnings. Were soon proven to be fraudulent. Throughout the world there were nothing more than a few minor glitches and computer problems as the year. Two thousand rolled around public. Fear quickly subsided. Some of those in the fringe. Groups were disavowed but figures like Falwell continued to have considerable public influence in later years. Like many cults the Y2k doom stairs seized on existing public anxiety and targeted vulnerable individuals many mixed technical language with religious rhetoric to confuse their audiences hopefully in the midst of the next crisis. We can learn to tune out dishonest alarmism and prevent opportunists from making a quick buck by stoking paranoia..

A new group had moved into the small ravine and our outside of Los Angeles Barefoot men and women clad in robes were busy preparing for the end of the world. They were hard at work. Farming the land and erecting large stone structures to live in. There are only about one hundred members of the group but they were laying the groundwork to eventually house one hundred forty four thousand. They believed that they're fearless leader. Krishna VENTA would shepherd them all through the apocalypse. Instead within a year their entire society would come crumbling down in a firestorm. Hi I'm Vanessa. Richardson and this is colts. A podcast original. This is the fifteenth episode in our Daily Series on the strange prophecies made by different cults and their leaders throughout this month. We're taking a daily look at the myriad of apocalyptic predictions to try and uncover. What makes these revelations so appealing? I'm here with my co host. Greg Poulsen everyone today. We're discussing Krishna. Venta members of his group the Fountain of the World held firm in their belief. That VENTA was the second coming of Christ. He would be the one to help. Guide them through World War three and the Fast Approaching Race War Krishna. Venta I started to make his rounds as a spiritual speaker in the nineteen forties. He traveled the country spreading his beliefs and soliciting donations. Over time his message evolved by the nineteen forties. He was pushing a message of spiritual enlightenment and everlasting life. It wasn't long before he claimed to be Christ and then he started to amass a following but he needed a place for all of his followers to go. That's when he found a small piece of land near Chatsworth. California called Box Canyon. Everything about it was perfect. It was far away from a large city but it was close enough for recruitment efforts in the nineteen fifties. Dentists started to preach about a coming race war between black and white communities. He said the Soviets would take this opportunity. When the United States was vulnerable to launch an attack one that would wipe out the government. Bente said this new. Soviet regime would outlaw acts of religion and the people of the United States would be enslaved but those in Box Canyon would remain safe under his protection they would emerge to start a religious revolution that would overthrow the new. Soviet government when all was said and done bente would be the ruler of this new world in an era of Cold War fear people clogged event as promise of safety and flocked to Box Canyon but everything inside the community was not as holistic as Venta. Made it seem. He was controlling and demanding of his followers time. He made enemies when he kicked two men out of the group in Nineteen fifty eight. They had accused him of having affairs with their wives. And Bento wasn't having it but just because he kicked him out didn't mean they would stay gone on December tenth nineteen fifty eight. They snuck back into box. Canyon strapped with dynamite. They confronted Venta in the middle of the night inside his large stonehouse in Box Canyon Day wanted revenge. They wanted his life. A fireball erupted out of the building and the blast was so large that it could be felt over a mile away the assailants killed ten people in total defectively brought the end of the group. Many the fountain of the world held onto the hope. That Bento would one day come back. But as the months ticked by and he didn't materialize. The group slowly split apart yet years later a few remained in box canyon hopeful that. Venta would come back home. There they would still talk with curious passers ply about their beliefs telling them of the coming race war while many didn't take their claim seriously. One young man from Ohio did and his name was Charles Manson..

Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God

"March seventeenth two thousand. The Movement for the restoration of the Ten Commandments of God held a huge party to celebrate the end of the world. The party was scheduled to last for two days as the leaders had roasted three bulls for feasting and acquired seventy crates of soft drinks. Hundreds of men women and children had arrived to join in the festivities and prepare for Armageddon yet. Armageddon came much more quickly than any of them had anticipated as the members gathered in the chapel at the primary complex in Congo. Uganda the doors and windows were boarded. Shut THE CHURCH. Building was set on fire. And at least seven. Hundred congregants were burdened ally. Hi I'm Vanessa. Richardson and this is colts. Apart cast original this is the thirteenth episode in our Daily Series. On the strange prophecies made by different cults and their leaders throughout this month. Were taking a daily look at the myriad of apocalyptic predictions to try and uncover. What makes these revelations so appealing? I'm here with my co host. Greg Paulson pyeryone today. We're discussing the beliefs of Christiania. Marin Day she convinced member cult the Movement for the restoration of the Ten Commandments of God. That Armageddon was imminent after predicting the world would end on January. First two thousand. The cut leadership killed their own members for reasons that are still not entirely clear. It's very likely they didn't want members to realize their doomsday predictions. Were wrong the Movement for the restoration of the Ten Commandments of God began in nineteen eighty nine. When Cronje Morandi a bartender banana beer brewer and sex worker claimed that the Virgin. Mary had appeared before her in the vision. Mary commanded Cronje to clean up her life and spread the news of a coming apocalypse. Cra Dona claimed at the world would face awful tribulation from God if people did not turn back to him and follow his ten commandments to the letter most people looked upon CR- Dona with skepticism. However she brought her predictions to form a government employee. Joseph Kibera Terry. He had also claimed have seen visions from God and when Cronje came to him he believed God had brought her into his life. Cuba Terry's endorsement of Kunia gave her story. The clouded needed together. Cronje and Cuba Terry Spread Their Doomsday message. Luckily for them Uganda was in a state of total chaos. Making Armageddon look highly plausible. Even the most sceptical Ugandans of the day the entire nation had been embroiled in a civil war with atrocity after atrocity being committed on all sides in addition HIV and AIDS had torn through the country at a rapid pace killing indiscriminately to make matters worse. The Roman Catholic Church one of the only pillars of stability in the region had become embroiled in its own awful scandals. People were desperate for safety and answers in could dona. Morandi was all too happy to provide. She called the people of Uganda follow her and promised to shelter them through the coming wrath of God. This message proved effective over the course of eight years. The movement's membership grew to over four thousand and built several dedicated living complexes throughout the region. Yet for all the cult successes Cra Dona had never decided on an official date for the end of the world to maintain control. Cordona stated that the world would end on January. First two thousand. The Colt was prepared to die. When the day finally came but as January first came and went so did CRA donas credibility. People began to leave the movement on mass in order to save face. Crony announced a new date. For the end of the World March eighteenth. They would have a grand party to celebrate starting on the seventeenth when over seven hundred people showed up to the Kananga Complex Cronje provided the apocalypse she had promised by burning them alive within the chapel. Some believe she died in the fire while others believe she escaped but more horrific revelations were still to come as the Ugandan government investigated the movement's Bases. They discovered mass graves at each and everyone in total. Three hundred ninety. Five additional members of the movement had been shot stabbed and poisoned by their own leadership sometime before the fire overall the Movement for the restoration of the Ten Commandments of God had proven to be one of the deadliest cults ever created when her doomsday prophecies. Failed CR- DONIO. Marinda made sure they would never fail again by killing more than two thousand of her own followers whether she died with them or escape to safety is unknown to this

The Hebrew word for God but yeah away was no deity. He was an alien however he still wielded incredible power. Y'All way and his people had created humanity. Hi I'm Vanessa. Richardson and this is colts. Apar- cast original. This is the fifth episode in our Daily Series on the strange prophecies made by different cults and their leaders throughout this month. We're taking a daily look at the myriad of apocalyptic predictions to try and uncover. What makes these revelations so appealing? I'm here with my co host. Greg Poulsen Hi everyone. Today we're discussing the beliefs of realism. According to their teachings humanity was created by a race of aliens known as the Elohim and when the time is right are creators will return and accept us into the galactic community following his encounter with. Y'All way at the volcano summit Claude for young changed his name to rial and dedicated himself to spreading the elohim teachings. Evidently this race of aliens came to Earth. Twenty five thousand years ago using advanced DNA technology. They created all life on the planet and crafted humans in their image. These benevolent creatures. Were as gods by humanity bestowed with the ancient Hebrew name. Elohim meaning those who came from sky over time. The Elohim withdrew from human interaction. Instead they sent individual representatives to guide US According to Royal Prophets like Moses. Jesus Muhammad and Buddha were actually elohim who came to help. Humanity learned the principles of mutual respect and non-violence. Y'All we felt humanity was on the cusp of to interact with the elohim more frequently to that and he wanted Royale to be as human representative and to prepare embassy for when the elohim returned to Earth and introduced humanity to the wider galaxy. Rail took to the task with Gusto. He printed a book called intelligent design and promoted it. All over the French airwaves and people were receptive. When royal held a public conference in Paris on September Nineteenth nineteen seventy four. Two thousand people showed up the attendees were passionate about helping. Royale spread his message at the end of nineteen seventy four. There were only one hundred seventy four members of his organization within two years. The number had grown to seven hundred by nineteen seventy-nine rials followers numbered reportedly over three thousand on the surface. The Raelians were devoted to spreading inclusivity with slogans. Like to tolerate differences is not enough. One should love differences to prove his peaceful intentions. Raphael claimed that he didn't own any earthly possessions however but truth might not be. So benign though. Rail didn't take a salary from his organization. It said that he did ask his followers to tie their post tax income and he also requested they most of their possessions to realism upon death. By two thousand one. He reportedly had raised eleven million dollars. As of this recording royal is actively still building his base preparing for the Elohim supposed return in twenty thirty five or perhaps he's fleecing innocent people out of their hard earned money in exchange for the false promise of a better life..
