Luck because of the fact that both ricardo allen and kiani will also suffered the achilles injury and then of course count and they also had a tornado. Yells years back So devastating injury to casey in the year where they were running. A lot of three safety looks kiani. Looked like he was a little bit better than the at been. Ricardo fell off a cliff. And of course going to this off season we had. We started a defense with three starting safeties. None of them are returning. Ricardo allen was cut primarily for cap reasons. But i i would say his performance fell off a little bit as well On the they opted not to try to retain him Probably because of the injury history. Think is Had some good seasons as well So what are your thoughts on. Eric harris drawn harmon. What they offer to the falcons this year. And what you think. Their potential for starting the entire year is going to be. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said there stopgaps. That's what they were brought in for. You want veteran presences in the building. Because you knew you were gonna overhaul the position. You knew you're going to get younger there. Which is what they did. When they drafted reggie grant fortieth overall. And then you know as you mentioned they retained jalen hawkins who the twenty twenty draft pick so again not sure hawkins if he's a long-term answer there the early reports at a camper promising now that he's he's made an impact to he's made plays on the ball so i am intrigued to see what he can bring. And you know what. I would say that hawkins before i get into some of the others. I think he's a better fit in dean pees defense and he would have been had dan quinn in the long-term head coach in. And i say that. Because i think hawkins is a bit of a twitter like he didn't fall into that prototypical strong safety dan. Quinn looks for allah kiana neil. And he's not really you know the cover one rangy free safety that you look for in say you know the prototype narrow thomas. He's more of a guy that again can do both things ten play. Closer to the line of scrimmage but he can also drop deep. You don't want him playing that cover one has said Would rather be covered to split safety. Look which again fits right into. What ps two. He runs more covered to than you know. Cover warner covers three. So i think there could be something there with him You know we'll see what the future holds. It was actually way mellower than that. The obamacare marshes people were kind of rowdy people like there for this historic occasion. Like they were. They were there with their fanny packs in there. You know whatever so. We did not post that video because we didn't want to get anybody in trouble. And then we found out they were dachshund people. They were arresting people just driving their faces on those videos not having any. We're so glad that we didn't post that because we don't wanna get any trouble and now like oh so now. There's no evidence of the fact that nothing happened that day that anything that happened. Was sketchy the little things you saw on that day. Come out even the people we knew who were there. Thought it was. Sketchy didn't really see like people climbing scaffolding but it was weird because they could have just walked around it like that's literally what we heard and now there's no evidence and no one will post the evidence if you post evidence of not being criminal day will arrest you now. You never anything that your house. I haven't watched much of that hearing. But i heard one of the saying that he was getting called just a slew of racial slurs vulgar. I don't know if they showed a video. I was going to check into that. But it's surprise if if this actually happened and there are so many videos then you don't have to have this guy testifying that people were calling him all these horrible racial slurs. They should just show the video. Well they're creating videos at this point. I'm confident of that. There's some of that stuff is totally staged. It was after the fact. But i always said it was a bad idea to have cop cams on the lapel or whatever of the cops unless you had twenty four seven live streaming url and it was a criminal offence for the to turn that thing off because in pasadena when they killed. Anthony mclean the cop who killed him. Supposedly had his cop cam off which is bullshit he he. He's through probably down the sewer because he didn't want anyone to see it so really so you should. It should be like. Dwi if you don't if you don't have if you don't provide the evidence you're guilty until proven innocent. I i mean. I don't think it should be jerseys. W why. But i should absolutely be true if a cop is not gonna go through the normal criminal procedure for killing somebody based on the fact that he was acting as a cop. If part of being a cop is having a camera. But anyway. I always said you don't want cops have cameras because if you go to protest they then identify which side you're on because of their facial recognition stuff so now not only do they have that will they use it for that and are using it for that. You're counter-evidence cycles. Great cell phones because now we can just post everything always record attractions with the cops. You're not gonna be able to do that anymore. You were a kid when when you voiced w started at the age of ten. Did people that you were the voice of dwi. What was that like. Yeah i mean. I was leaving school three times a week to go and record and so kids would ask me. Is everything. okay like what are you. What are you doing. And i told them. Yeah you know. I'm leaving on the voice of dwi. Arthur in at first no one believed me and then i remember one time in elementary school. I brought in for show intel a vhs of episode of me playing w and showed it to the class. So i think it was something of a like a local celebrity or you know what sometimes it was nice but other years of my life where you know like teenage years where you know you kinda wanna try to figure out who you are and maybe don't wanna draw so much attention to yourself. It was definitely challenging at times. But again as i've gotten older. And as i've sort of charted a career in entertainment it's something that i'm i want to embrace. And that's what. I'm doing with my podcasts. Dwi also become a bit of a mean online with with some of her. Her witty comebacks in one liners. What's it like to see that in the in the universe. "One of the things that kate mentions in the beginning of her story is all of the times that she unsuccessfully tried to quit drinking before her sober date in twenty eighteen. She talks about white. Knuckling it and how ultimately that failed for her. I think that most of us who can't quit drinking on our own have had many stops and starts before finally sticks. And that's probably why you're listening to this podcast. A common misconception is that quitting drinking means you just stop drinking alcohol and that's it you're done you don't change anything else. Just remove that one liquid from your glass and that is all. that's sobriety. Sure you know you're not putting that substance in your body anymore. You're sober but you're not making any other changes or improvements or taking any steps to work on the behaviors that likely contributed to your drinking a phrase that you used to hear a lot is dry drunk but we're starting to kind of move away from that language it really contributes to the negative stigmas around substance use but that phrase refers to someone who's quit drinking but has not made any other changes to their behavior in over one hundred thirty episodes of this show. I cannot count how many times i recorded myself saying. It's not about the alcohol. Yes you are drinking the substance that is life ruin her but it's not the alcohol that's the root of the problem. Alcohol is what you drink to cover up what you're feeling what you drink to numb out. What you swallow to wash down your rage or anger or sadness or trauma and once you start depending on alcohol and eventually become addicted to it. It's easy to focus on the substance because so many of the consequences are from the alcohol. The consequences are happening in plain sight. Not inside your mind and don't get me wrong. You have plenty of consequences from alcohol inside your mind but most of us aren't out there getting. Dwi's from unaddressed trauma.

So the headline here is that we're facing a crossroads in corporate America today, and the reason for that is on one side this pandemic while a humanitarian crisis at its heart has created An opening for flexible work, and that's a good thing because that's the number one thing. Women have said. In the past, they need to advance more in the workplace environment. On the flip side, one in four women today is saying because of the pandemic and the context it's creating in their workplace environment and their home environment. They may need to step back or step out of the workforce. And one and four equates to two million women that would unwind years of progress of women's advancement in the workplace. And it's just something we can't afford to lose. And we're really seeing the gendered nature of work here to right Serena Khan, not only where Caretaking responsibilities end up falling when push comes to shove, but also who falls into this essential worker category and the disproportionate impact on black and brown women's who We're looking at a really layered intersectional issue here. That's exactly right. All of us are being impacted by the pandemic, but we're not all being impacted in the same way.
