"So he gets his third slit and then Georgina goes into Kassy's room again and she starts talking real crazy like trying to make a widow. Atomique is you're a widow and now you're trying to take my husband away from me and you always been a witch what we do which is a Burnham and it really. Yeah Yeah then David columns and they're they're like well. We're trying to get out of here. This is this. My new husband We love each other. We're GONNA try and leave and Georgina. That's probably for the best. So weird being like really hostile to just okay. Yeah do whatever you want get. Out of my house Samantha gets picked up by police officer you. You know what speaking of Georgina what was one thing that I was also expecting it to be revealed. The Roy had an affair with her sister. I think that's what they he he kinda points out at the end right Roy. 'cause he says I love you Marlena. Yeah so I think it was really he just loved the was it. The we said was cousin. Marlena was Regina's sister on. Donna was the cousin. Donna was the cousin. Gotcha okay so yeah. I think that's kind of implied it is what I'm talking about. That one line. He never really has any mention of it before I guess why he wants to sleep with her is because he loved her. I don't know I don't know again. A lot of stuff is implied in this movie. But it's never really alluded to you know what I mean like. There's not a lot of context clues you know what I think. We need to see the Houston. Gut Market mentioned. Feels like a lot of things left on the cutting room floor. We'll just interview him. That'll we'll be that'll be it will interview Danny Houston and Danny Huston. Let's talk maddening. You WanNa you WANNA talk about. My roles was recently. WanNa talk about what you cut out of the Manning and why would we lease it. You guys is it that would you see is what you get there. No you're a fucking liar. I know there's more to it. There has to be no. I assure you don't WanNa yell at me for the Wolverine like like No. I sure everyone else does. It's it's very it's a very they. Don't stick the ending here. And when Samantha runs into the COP. It's the most convene neatly time she's running. She's running down the road trips and there's a cop just staring at her own mean like it's like she's she's bothering him he's got that look like what the fuck are you doing here. Yeah yeah so she gets picked up at the COP and As David is trying to get Cassio Roy shows up with two guns and He kind of has a monologue. Regina they start talking back and forth so it turns out where he reveals Georgina. Slip Marlena and Donna WanNA sleeping powder. Until they died overdosed on sleeping pills basically asleep. Yeah so sorry. She gets exasperated. She sits in his dad's wheelchair and he starts elucidating. His father again starts at tagging him and he immediately shoots Georgina. Lena right in the chest a few times a few times he empties the Chambers man and then he picks her up and he puts her on the bed and cries cries over her and then a fire starts knocks over one of the oil lamps. Right before that the dumbest decision of the move is made where cassie and David have a queer. We are exit from this situation to leave the house for some reason. They just watch they watch him have his emotional breakdown moment and one shoot them yeah. She's like kill him cal but they don't. They have kind of a fight and he starts tossing around. Cassie David and he's fine. Line them until eventually. cassie picks up the rifle and puts rate in the right in Roy's chest and he gets shot out the window and and you see the wire he she puts one right in dummy burt reynolds chest he gets knocked out the window and he dies in run out of the House and all of a sudden. It's daytime Right after that shot like the slow motion thing with hereon flames. It's something I'm sure David Houston was like this is GonNa be epic has got to be my shot symbolic or whatever but it just. It looks terrible really poorly shop And they're reunited with Samantha as the House Burns down and in an jill throws the doll down the well and that's our last seen an awful adding and at this point when they come running out of the house and all the cops there. What what's the cops thinking? They weren't the people you know causing the issue. Well I mean. They were reported missing and they were found founded right so I mean I would. I would assume that they were kidnapped. Right and cars all beaten up and everything mark mark euboea bad police officer. You blame the victims. Yeah I got the nickname mark dinars. Really bad job but being mark would be the cop in like a comedy where it's clear that the Like the bad guys. They're the victims there and he will not hold hold on just a minute. I wasn't me officer. I believe you you gotta you gotTa trustable face in restless. Yeah and that's the end of the maddening. The as I said at the non pleasant movie. Yeah Yeah it's has a very low REWATCH value This might be I mean. I think this was better better than Raven. If I'm being honest raven just had really shitty action every even rewatch Raven before I watch realized watch this one possibly but I I think this one had more of a story in it where Raven was just kind of phoned in But yeah this one is like you said very pleasant just. There's a lot of a lot of problems with the production. Both technically and I guess acting wines. yeah. It's it's just a pain. It was more of like a Chore To Watch this movie. Okay what would you guys do to make this better I would I would probably make cassie a little bit. More self aware of what's going on. her her escape attempts are pretty piss poor so I probably make it. I'd I never felt like the. There's a lot of attention when she's in the house other than you know. Obviously she's being kind of held captive but I would have liked to have seen a bit more of her are maybe explore the house and see different Rooms and maybe she figures out the instead of being spelled out for the viewer maybe she kind of solves was the puzzle herself like all right. Well this man has murdered his family essentially instead of Burt Reynolds just being sleazy about it You and I would have kept it straight. I would have gone dark the hallway. You know you. If you're showing dead bodies keep it that way. Don't put any comedy into you. Don't you don't need the the gas attendance to be you know slapstick. Just keep him regular keep them regular like straight men almost. Yeah they just they run the gas station. You know. There's no need for them to be like airheads. You know what I'm saying I would probably get rid of. I would get rid of the actor who played the detective. Josh Mostel I I would put literally anyone else. They're just just pick a guy off the street put. It's not someone that's like the the the grip. Put the the grip in there and let him be the detective. I'm sure he's a better fit and Joshes they're going for a Wayne Knight sort of vibe to that Guy Right. There's really no reason that's that's really short of remaking hosts swats at this movie. I think the one thing that would make it re watchable and maybe got a theatrical will release is if you redid the whole investigation kind of little bit more of a simpler gone girl. Yes SORTA SORTA got part of the COP story honestly. I don't even think I would make it where David isn't a suspect. You know like they're missing thing. David is helping the police try to find. Find them and he's searching all over and you know maybe The detectives in the cautious tone. Like stay out of it will handle this and David. Fuck that I'm GONNA find my family you know and he just happens upon Burt Reynolds and Angie Dickinson and you kind and go from there but yeah. I didn't really think having David is the suspect made sense just because you got into a fight I will do. They have fights before it's never never really mentioned where they're new there. So why would the neighbor know so much about what was going on but if it was more if it would make more percents if it was like oh you know they fight all the time Their their relationship is kind of on edge. Then yeah okay that makes sense is but if like yeah everyone fights you know that's natural so I don't think having just Yulia that one fight caused him to murder his family family. What about you what would what would you have done I think kind of like you. I would Make it a a little bit darker. I'd probably change it to maybe give it a little more of a psycho feel like maybe even Georgina is he maybe he he killed Georgina and he's he's leaving his house by himself right like Georgina. Kinda like stuffed or would irene in the room yeah that would have been pretty cool kinda back and the craziness of that. Yeah I think I think there is a tonal problem when it comes to like the the detective and stuff like that Um in which I think they would need to solve That's that's more or less what I would do it. I think I'm Kinda in agreement with the cool. Yeah again. This movie had some semblance of a plot and it kind of new at times what it wanted to be but then it there was so many drastic shifts and and it really hurts the film Not that this could have been a great film but it could have could have at least gotten a theatrical release. I think but but it just seemed like. They didn't really know what they wanted to do. At times it suffered for it. I think it's going to do it for Our episode on the maddening. You guys got any plugs plug your ship as you say you you know Goddamn well we do all right. The ship plugging twitter DEA. Quite a one twenty two. You could also find our stranger. Daime podcasts the Dean D. podcast at Stranger Strange Danny's and that's it. That's it for me. I keep it short and sweet. So mark's got a whole thing going so well I don't have a whole thing that'll have two things because actually life is over. But I'll sort thank you so much for everybody to tuned in to actually on Saturday we surpassed the five hundred dollar goal. "That sounds like a sing along in and of itself. I'm very excited about this great job, teasing it. They are. They are in, you know, it'll be interesting to see I- critically. How does and what it does at the box office? Because if you remember, I believe it was right after the Super Bowl shortly thereafter, that the first teaser came out for Aladdin and at the end, it showed Will Smith with a blue face. The internet sounded like afterward. And now we're seeing a lot that he's only blue for a little bit. And then he's just kind of Will Smith. It's unexcited I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I am to stave. I'm excited for you. Thanks. Hey god. What's that pictures posted on Facebook? I just caught a glimpse. I'm sorry. You look great about is. There is a, a new Snapchat filter which is like a gender swap or so this doesn't just give you cat is, this is a pretty remarkable piece of technology in that it adds like, for Donna Valentine, there's one of us Donna wanna Miwon awry. "We were scheduled this hour to talk about the patriots game. Not so much the result of the game. We're going to talk about it was a boring game. And I think most patriot fans will will recognize was a boring game. But that's okay. Us to some people is exciting the lousy Super Bowl show. And so what we'll do and the ads some of which are okay, I like to Stella Artois, at Stella Artois, my favorite one was the one hundred year NFL, add with the fumble thought that was just you know, I saw that at and I didn't like it. And you know, why didn't like it? I thought it was demeaning probably just a different take on. It was like we're just gonna destroy stuff. And if no reason at all, I guess, my take was the other ads were sort of very very traditional and very. No, it it had energy that that is for sure. And I get it. Well, whatever just people people can agree to disagree. I did. But sarah. Jessica Parker was graded her Stella Artois, and and the big lebowski exactly as terrific. Was great though. I did I did like that. So we'll probably do some of that tomorrow night after the parade. If you go to the parade tomorrow, behave yourself. We're going to continue to talk about China. And by the way, talking about sports, there's a lot of sports going on in China. There's a lot of sports women's hockey. We don't have a women's Hockey League women's Hockey League. I was just telling you off air, Dan that on Wednesday for my class. I have a guest speaker coming in who runs a sports sponsorship company in China and he's coming. He's been doing it for twenty years and has been very very successful. Success doesn't speak a word of Chinese and he's been extremely successful Stephon Marbury. Yeah. Is over there and the women's basketball, which is. It's great. I think it's really and and the Americans dominate in in both sports. So what about this real quickly? And I'm just gonna ask why not just eliminate tariffs and say, guess what you produce whatever will produce. Whatever isn't that? What Trump wants to get this all of this? But the weren't we? Well, before this whole thing started with tariffs and things were just fine. Is that? That would we say we had no terrorist, but China add tariffs. I start. I misspoke in the sense. I'm going back several years ago when neither country had tariffs, and we were just fine. So who started China started it, all right? Good enough. Let's keep it rolling. Go to Tom and Quincy, Tom. We're talking about China you're on professor Greg Staller of Boston University. Go ahead. Tom. Great. So I look at it like this. We got to have a little faith, and I gotta take care about democracy. So we live like. They. The constitution. In other words, if he were them getting mad is ourselves better. So that's how China lives ourselves very mall. You can't win loss. Hit a wall with Senator the speaker. All so currently we have six hundred eighty billion. So so every year manufacturing deficit. Enderle even three hundred. Corporate bombs giving away, you know, water table rain falls the bus. So the way it looks to be allowed to enter the worldwide gilded age. Well, and what we can do is. She also one ninety three. Treasury bonds over the back. Watch that really blows my mind because I speak doing the buying the interest. So let's some trillion dollar coins Davies guy. Won't be blown up that much because they've got that money. Anyway. Thanks, Elizabeth Warren. We'll have public banking twice the infrastructure jobs say. Are you are you are you being serious? You pulling my leg, Tom when you say elect, Elizabeth. She just bought twelve billion dollars back with the executive more on her. Aide. Paul she- smart. She's on the skiers three. There's only two senators. They don't want. They don't take big money. The Democrats are the ones that remain other all talking to the banks. They don't want running Elizabeth Elizabeth and so she's much. That's so so you telling me. Tell you what I am not ask you. Okay. Okay. I will remember my question. Go ahead. Have a great market. He'll we have what we need, and we live very well biased. So let's stop the whole. You can't win with them. Cottam loose. Reward. Good. How is bad? Let's get on with it. So here's my question, Tom. Here's my question. If you telling me seriously, you want to elect Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. You want to turn the country into a socialist country. You know, nobody one bridge. Now. Can I ask the question? I let you finish your soliloquy. My question is on the one hand you telling me, we should reward good behavior. Well, if you bring the tax rate to fifty sixty seventy percent is that rewarding good behavior. Working americans. Is that what you really suggested we you speaking, sarcastically. I'm trying to in what you were saying, that's all I'm asking you. I try very hard to be cast because they have a tendency sanity go that way. But no Bernie has been likened to. Socialist. Two of the variety that comes from the what are they called the isn't stop. Whereas, you know, versus the prizes socialist, Tom Bruny's associate. I agree. I agree with you there. But one is the likening was that. He would throw out the bath water everything. I I actually like Bernie, I'm not afraid of I'm not afraid of John. Critic socialism. Elizabeth on the other hand was brought up by the Republican. She's is a free enterprise. Oh, y'all. I'm telling you. She believes in free enterprise. The. Let me let me get my guest the near Tom some night. Call me back, and we'll argue the the benefits of the liabilities of Elizabeth. Okay. We can do that some night. Greg. Can you make sense of what Thomson? I think I'm making sense of what he's saying to us. If I'm following you Tom what you're saying is that we should try and cut China loose and try and move on. And we'll do our own thing. And they'll do their own thing and sell the treasury bonds and everything else. I think I understand where you're going in isolation. Stay. Pat, Buchanan, Tom, you telling me that you love Bernie, Elizabeth and you sound like, Pat Buchanan, I guess that is more of a theoretical argument that it was a practical argument. Would you agree with that? Tom. I think it takes a while. I sound in hike my wellbeing. Whatever I lose it in this. And I I don't really agree. Exactly. What you're saying? Are you an isolation? But it's America first. We gotta pull up straps. Yeah. You know, and I know that well growing up about your age. So I remembered that pretty well. But he gets a little bit too. Six. Let-let's? Well, we don't need a corporation London. I agree with you that America should advance its own agenda, and we should absolutely try and being a troll of our own destiny. Me too. I agree with that as well on that point, Tom. We'll we'll ended for tonight. The please come back. You're going to be a great debate. I appreciate your call very much. Oh. Thank you very much. Let's go to Donna in Boston. Donna wanna get you in here before the eleven forty five break. Good, donna. Those guys just had like ten minutes each, Dan. Call four. No, the the the next caller has been waiting for seventeen minutes. Go ahead on does just do the call drawn. Yeah. Your on. Okay. I thought you gonna give me know very little time. Okay. First of all, professor. I love learning new things. And every time I listen to you. So in awe, thank you, very much the depth of your knowledge about China's incredible to question pretty quick. Well, my background is today. I was French and Spanish teacher. So I was wondering how the Chinese government seals about their population. Speaking more than one language, and if it's a second language is it so the request Drake question, the Chinese spend a lot more time studying English than we do in this country. You know, when I was growing up. We learn the romance languages now. I think a lot of American kids are learning Arabic or certainly Chinese or other languages beyond just French or Spanish, I think that what the Chinese have been very very effective doing is making sure that they bring in non-chinese people. So they understand the pronunciation they understand the grammar. And I'm always fascinated by people who've never left China who speak fluent English. There are people Donna as you probably know who go to China to teach. They do not have a matter of fact, Noah word of. Chinese David Seidler of former ambassador embassador to China. He spoke, no China. No Chinese when he got there. He's t taught in English. But I really I gotta tell you, Don. I tip my hat to you. I speak read and write seven different languages with varying levels of fluently fluency is opened up so many doors for me. So given that you language teacher. I'm just so appreciative that you're helping out American kids. It's so important. All right is the question sort of connected with okay, they were how to speak English, and how much do, you know about the British relationship with China? And whether it's gonna Shane JR with Brexit stuff going on. Okay. So I think you have to separate China and Hong Kong. Yeah. It's true that you know, the UK had a ninety nine year lease and that expired in the late nineties and now Hong Kong reverted to Chinese rule. And of course, the opium wars and everything else. Dan knows a lot of this stuff. They're outside of a trading bloc. These days there, isn't that much formal connections between the UK and China, and I think that everybody is concerned with Brexit is going to make life a little bit more complicated. And by the way, Hong Kong still has its place independent. No, it's fully a part of China right now. But I thought that there were things that went on local elections in they have their own constitution. Yeah. Their own currency. Exactly. That's what I was trying to get it done as always great questions. You have given other one or another comment. Read ahead. No. I think I'm I'm good. I hope you do you kidding me? Thanks, Donna, gray. Call as always. Thank you much. Okay. You're welcome..

"Here five forty eight. And we're talking about what everybody's talking about today. And that's the blown call actually the non call in the Rams saints game that cost the saints a trip to the Super Bowl, and we will go back to the phones we got Dana from our Vada. Hello dana. They ranked in Dave and Kathy. How you guys what's going on? They're feeling good. Yeah. I really would've liked to seen the Kansas City and the the saints in the Super Bowl. But how do you think given the way the first game went against, you know, Kansas City and the Rams Kansas City. Wanna learn from that and played a better game against the Rams, or do you think they would was their defense so bad that it would have been the same outcome? Tough to tell that was really an exciting. That was a Monday night game. If memory serves and ever bowl teams that over fifty points. I think so I mean, I don't know if we've seen that in the Super Bowl, I think we've seen a heck of a great game. Lots of fireworks, right? I think Kansas City may have been a slight favorite in that game. But and I do think the Rams are different without Cooper Cup. Now. I think it's a different team. I think the Rams are better defensively than the chiefs. Although they haven't played all that. Well, the Rams when you consider the big name stars on the defense defend Ben that good. No. Except except in the playoffs. They've been great. I mean, they shut down the Cowboys completely shut down Zeke you'll Elliott and New Orleans couldn't run the ball northern said, I think top five rushing attack and they couldn't run the ball lick. So I maybe when Adama consumer and Aaron. Donna wanna play. I mean, I don't know. So there may play great in the playoffs. I find to pick between the chiefs in the in the Rams and the Super Bowl I'd go chiefs even with their defense is that good that good Mahomes better than Goff. Yeah. God is still kind of the wild card from me. Yeah. I mean, right. Although great job by him Monday Sunday. Right. I mean, they're down when they're down thirteen nothing. I'm thinking just throws just on the verge of getting this thing completely out of hand. Yup. But he he made some great fake punt call too. Yeah. Coach man, you gotta love that. Coach, Sean McVay. We got Michael now calling from summit county. What's it like up there right now? Michael. Stolen is it windy up there because it's windy down here. Yeah. A little bit. It's pretty cool for that way. Really strong. Two quick things. You know, I hear this where I don't wanna be the one to make the call that affects the game. Well, you don't make the call. You're affecting the game. True. Very true. Yeah. So I mean, you know, one way you gotta call you make the call. But the other thing is and this is very important. And it'll solve the whole problem each coach what you'd call. The rep is a call. Okay. And you get to throw the flag, and he gets the. Tell never happened. I get a do over. Right. So, you know, something like that. But the represent doodo head. What are you gonna do? I don't think you should let that guy officiate a playoff game again for a while. Definitely has to pay the other quick Brady the patriots. They're quintessential professionals. Okay. When the game is on the line. There's nobody better. Hard to argue with that. He's the goat dot about it that to me you can hate you can hate them. All you want to. I don't. I'm tired of them. But I admire how great they have been. I mean, they went into you know, they went into Kansas City and did exactly what they had to do Josh mcdaniels defensively had a good game plan slow at least slowed the chiefs down early in that game long enough to let the their offense get ahead and establish what they were gonna look like stayed on the field. I mean that was a pretty good game plan executed and then the last two drives. I mean, again, you know, the chiefs have had the lead by four with two is to go in the game. They can't hang on. Kim from Byun Evista. That's how we pronounce it in Colorado Byun Avesta. No, it's beautiful. It's actually, but we call it Buick gin. We got like a minute and a half Kim. Coming in to get your comments on the story about the fans pointing lasers at Brady and element. I saw that. I saw the story. It doesn't surprise me. We we've seen that another games as well. What can you do about it? I don't know. What can you do about that? Obviously, it shouldn't be you shouldn't be allowed to bring a laser into a stadium. But how do you stop it? I guess. I don't know. No, I don't think you can stop it. The guys throwing snowballs from the stands, you know, unless you can get them on camera. I guess yeah. I guess baby. But Brady complained what can the league do about it? Nothing. Somebody would do that. They let those in. Well, I don't think they will. Yeah. They probably didn't. Oh. Through your purse and everything I'm surprised that. Thank you, Kim. But you can sneak them in, you know, Saudi cavities, really. Yeah. Is what they do. That's what I. That's what I've heard people told me that. That's how you sneak. You gotta really wanna lays gave this. Would you rather something else there that a laser Rick that questions for you? Yeah. Yeah. Of course. Either way. I five fifty five..

And she is a fantastic any any topics that we need to cover next year. The you haven't heard us talk about addiction. All right. Well, we've done we've done that before. Phones too. Walking people are walking in three because they're looking at their cell phone. They don't say Hello. They don't. I mean, there's some great videos if you go on YouTube, this some great videos of people walking in like falling into fountains. It's it's well, it's hysterical unless I'm gonna get, but it's funny. Well, since win this is your this is your last night before he goes on vacation. No, no, no, no, no. I'll be here Monday and Tuesday night. My last night will end with a nightside charity combine. Okay. Well in case, I don't get to speak to you. You know, I wanna wish you and yours merry Christmas. I wish I I know you I don't know if you celebrate Christmas or not I think we've talked about this before I know that you are Islam, you you relate, your religion is Islam, right? Correct. What is the what is the holiday era is it that is the holiday around this this time? No, we have to Eve's and one is, you know, or at the end of Ramadan which came during the summer, and then we had that was back in June. And then we had another one three months later in September. But, you know, this this is this leads into what I wanted to say, you know, one thing that grinds my gears around this time of the year is all the political correctness. You know, and what some people have dubbed the war on Christmas. You know, and and as as a practicing Muslim, you know, I have as I mentioned to you before you know, I fell asleep. We my Christian friends quite often. They invite me to Christmas dinner. I go joy I say merry Christmas. Thank you. And and and, you know, damn it's not this is the thing that maybe many realistic may not understand. It's not the people from the religious communities themselves. The orthodox Jews or the Muslims that are pushing this political correctness people from the hard hard left some of them, maybe with no belief system at all. Absolutely. And they're claiming to speak for everybody. I call them. You've heard me use the phrase day, the evangelical atheists. I think I think there should be room in our public square for all religious viewpoints to be to be expressed. And tomorrow, you know, I'm going to a synagogue to spend the day with my Jewish friends. And now admitted when I first converted to Islam, I was a little bit squeamish about visiting, you know, my former church, but after a while once I got more comfortable, and this is another thing when you spend time with people of other face, it makes you more stronger in your faith through does does in different people. I think we all worship the same. God. Okay. I don't think there's I don't think there's like five or six gods at there. I don't think we got a situation with is in his Lama God Christian God and in Jewish God. I think it's all the same entity and develop people in all three religions will tell you the same thing, you know, like, you know, we don't worship prophet. Muhammad. You know? And you know, because you know, he he was a prophet. And he told us, you know, I'm pointing to God we just happened to call him all along. Sure. Oh, big term. And as far as topics that. I like, you know, I to cover in twenty. Yup. You know, there's one aspect to the Palestinian Israeli conflict that that I don't think it's much much truck. And Matt is the the violin vicious hatred? That are in the Palestinian textbooks. That they teach their children. You know? I was speaking to the wife of a good friend of mine who's a rabbi, and he told me that the math problems in their textbooks. You know, twenty Jews kill ten how many are left. Yeah. I've I've heard this before and it's horrifying it's horrifying. It's absolutely. It's it's hard. And you know, and I when most civilized people were growing up, you know, what though what did we have twenty blocks? Takeaway ten Tommy twenty pencil twenty Korea. You got it. You got it. Yeah. Well, it's at when that when mathematics is politicized. I'll try to do something on that David. And I and I appreciate it particularly you as a as a follower of the Islamic faith to be sensitive to that. I mean, that's that's genuine humanism right there. Yes. Absolutely. And I think he's gonna take, you know, people of our faith who are who understand? You know, that my mom is is user phrase quite often when we're discussing this crazy miss he says, there's this warm, and then there's his lawn. Yup. I hear you. I totally hear you. And again, I thank you for being proud of your religion. But I think is for being so open minded to others. David. I gotta get one more break. If I don't talk to you. Please have great great holidays. If you go to Christmas events think about me. Okay, fair. Sure will expel we'll talk soon. Okay and happy new year to they'll forget that one. Oh, yeah. See we all we all celebrate January. First as New Year's gotta thanks, Dave. We'll talk soon have a great night. Okay. Goodnight. Let me go to Donna in Boston. Donna wanna get you another wire here before the break. Go right ahead. Okay. Okay. Boy on the plastic bag for minute before I go to my bracelet celebrity. Why not why not go ahead? Well, it's gonna turn out a lot better than. I think you are assuming let me tell you. I still have connections with framingham and Natick and the grocery store of last January. No more pasta bags, but now free of charge after worst restores. They give you a bio degradable sort of looks like plastic, but I guess it really isn't black sick. But it appears to be and it's like ten times stronger than the plastic bag was in can hold many more. Okay. Okay. They're using walks and feels like a plastic bag and his vibe degradable, and it's actually better than the plastic bags used to be. Well, that's great. And I happened to go to Shaw's, and they have I think a bag like that. Here's my question to those stores out in framingham. Natick that you. Do you patronize if you wanna get paper bags is that still allowed? Basketball. I just hand me a couple good. Excellent. Will I love the idea of choice? That's all. I mean, it's you know, what they're replacing the plastic bag would Dan is not paper is like a biodegrade. Get. And let's see. 'cause again, all more groceries. Well. Well. Suspicious of at the beginning, the comment that I like the new bag better than I used to like my last you're one of my more, open minded listeners. Now talk to me about issues or subjects or whatever you like. I want to go to the breakfast celebrity. Because this is actually even better than that. My most favorite actress who my whole life was Paul Newman. Sure. And so I saw all his movies, and my best friend like Elvis Elvis movies with her and she was Paul Newman. Always with me like in the sixties. Right. They stopped making movies after seventy seven I know that. Okay. Now, my lawyer and his best friend. Was a family law attorney they both went they went Latin together. They went to BC undergrad, and they went to be law school. So my husband's very good friend family law. Attorney was on the board of the hole in the wall camp in Westport, Connecticut, which was started and run by Paul Newman and his wife Jill in is. Right and his wife, JoAnne Woodward. Right. That's right. So they lived in Connecticut for years and years and years, they didn't like Hollywood at all. So you put an award and asked if I could go down and visit on the open house day at the camp. So not only did I brush celebrity was my favorite actor. I spent the day with him and was eating me. I am at a barbecue. Excellent. Excellent. I'm told he's a pretty good while he was a pretty good guy. No, he's passed on. But I'm told that he was he was a very cordial individual. And I I know that for through through another person. So thank you for that. That's better. There's just a brush with celebrity. I would agree with that. I love you laugh, Donna. I I I hope you had a good Hanukkah, and I hope that maybe we have a great new year together. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I hope somebody remembers to say happy new year to me in September. They always know Homolka, Dan. It's not. Jewish personally. No one to say happy new year me in September. You call in and out spotted on the calendar for you. Thanks. "I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna say it's okay to drink on the job on the job. I would argue that if he's at that point, even when he's not drinking during the day there, he's going to be. I'm back. I'm gonna ask though, is there I to just get on a schedule that doesn't involve doing, you know, graveyard overnights and blah, blah, blah. No. It's just part of the job. We all do it. We all we all know schedule months in advance. Okay. It's usually like a string of maybe five or six. And you have three days off and you might come back on swings. Right? So he, he, he alchoholic he's, he's talked to me about his alcohol. He knows he's a drinker, but it's I'm the, I'm the only one who knows, and there's another supervisor that is found out and we don't know really whether we should repent hoping that he just stops he's gotta prior. He's not gonna stay. I, I would tell him this is the beginning of the consequence part. When Dr drew. Is trying to divine alcohol. This is where the contents not about volume. It's about guns acquaintances, and now this is the part where you're jeopardizing your career. Okay. Oh, he's taking a huge risk. He makes great money. Okay, he's extremely intelligent. I, I don't know if drew alcohol. I don't know. Is that what he doing? Please thrown at all the way. Simply should should. Should we confront him? I absolutely I will. I would say, let's go with the fuck. Let me. I would say this. Give give the definition of alcoholism. The continued use and in vital cots consequences. Now we're up against the consequence, losing your career and your livelihood. I'm not going to plan an intervention, and I'm not going to say you can't have a beer when you get home, but you cannot drink here. You cannot drink on the job. He knows that the supervisor, I know it. We're gonna check your backpack. And if you do drink on the job than that is a consequence, and then you need to go to rehab. If you if you wanna we go to rehab anyway. But if you'd like it works, we, we would have to go to a manager them. No. And we the the pro, I would just wish you with an asshole than it would be easy to just turn him in. Great. You're doing a favor drew what I know. I think there's a give lying to me about his drinking to lying mouth. Of course, I, I have a feeling that the magnitude of this drinking is actually considerably worse than you imagine and that he's drinking to prevent withdrawal. And if you make him stop, I would say there's a fifty percent probability of a seizure at work, and so he's really had an anxiety attack. Tax paying a seizure right full on. And I would say he's heading towards that, and he's lying alcoholic. And I've gone through all that myself. All right. So I know signs. I know the Kells he's got these little tell which is our maybe you go to alanon meetings and talk about it and sort of get some clarity about how to how to manage it, really help you manage him. And then if you can get him to go to some meetings with you. Great. Get him some meetings. Let's get on this, but I think he's heading towards hospitalization. I think this guy needs a couple of weeks somewhere. Well, it sounds like you have the kind of job that would support that. Yes, getting you're sick, you get treatment. It's no big deal. Yeah. All this crazy all time. You know what you're like. You're like some fucking fat, European broad. Who's who goes the body's beautiful. It was meant to be naked. "That's traveling, performed beautifully live here at world cafe by Don Landis and her band or new records called meet me at the river. So you reference Loretta Lynn in that song. Read that Loretta Lynn saying at the coal mine where your dad worked in Kentucky. Yeah. What did what did he tell you about that? He hasn't told me many details about that. I know that also on that visit, Dan Quayle was also visitor. I don't know what was happening at the time. Cole was happening. But yeah, I think he didn't know her music as well as I do now. So he was maybe more interested in Dan Quayle time. But I said, dad, you really missed out. I mean, he did thought she thought she had a wonderful voice, but I would have been like, please autograph my arm. Oh, wow. Yeah. So you start out literal coal miner's daughter in Kentucky, and you end up pursuing music and specifically engineering at the start really in New York City. What is your parents think of the choice that that you're making when you're making it? They have been supportive the whole time of whatever. I mean, I think you know, my parents had not really spent any time in New York City and always thought like, oh, I can't believe you live in the -partment the small, and there's nothing in your frigerator, but those are just things that parents think so it could could have been anywhere doing anything, and they would have thought all that stuff. But no, they've been completely supportive and loving and wonderful. Yeah, you're apparent. Now I'm a parent. Oh, congratulations. That's new. That's if you were pregnant while you were making the record. Right. I was funny because I didn't know it. Like at the time I was actually pregnant when we did the first recording session for this and I didn't know it. Yeah, so crazy. So my daughter has literally heard these songs as many times as I have. That's wild. How old is she? Now? She is just a little bit older than one. She's one. So she was in euro while you were making the album, she heard it all. She heard it a lot. How does she respond to your music? And no, she's maybe too young to tell you what she thinks she respond to it at all. Now that I love the US is question because I got the test pressing of the records when my husband was out of town and I wanted to listen to them, you know, to make sure everything was okay, and she was I was feeding her breakfast and I listened to the songs and after every song she clapped, no. After every song I was so excited. I was like, I don't care what anyone else thinks about this record. She likes it. She actually likes, oh, man. So Fred foster who produced it told you you're good songwriter, newborn baby clap off every song on the record. You've done it. I know ever arrived. Yeah, she's arrived the top of the mountain. That's so great, Don Landis. My guest here on the world cafe, her new record is called meet me at the river, Donna wanna. Thank you so much for being here today. Thanks for having me this fun. So he has one, I'm noticing take being out and you know, I'm so frigging blessed that you know leaving the Niger that wasn't. It was a good situation that supporting me. I had used after my contract that didn't get fire runs like your. It was one of those situations, but now running a business and being in the business, I get to see cool things. His what I think is missing in basketball. I think the mechanics the mechanics of athlete can be improved at the professional level. And he has washed say that it's different than football. I'm not saying the same motions of the same patents, not like that, but watch how some of the football players move. I think. The boss couple because we're getting the pre hab and the rehab and utilizing open up the hood of the car, fixing the parts putting it together, but the actual mechanics think could be improved. I was. I was why when I was watching the World Cup this year, I like making crossbar comparisons like that. When I was watching the World Cup, I was seeing passing lanes that I don't. I don't know how tough it is to make that pass and soccer, but I, I was thinking, appoint God would see that. So I do think you can draw a lot of not parallels, but you can kinda steal things from different sports hundred percent. Now that cool thing about that is like when I say in football, so we're talking about if you're a receiver you running a patent, you're gonna jump up for one thing. It's different than if you're a pow for new gun multi. That's not. That's not what I'm saying. But these guys walk on their mechanics to to get every inch out of the fossilised now the body's gonna work or I don't know if we get any every inch of the foster specially when you get seven footers. I'm watching some of them run now and I'm like, man, I mean this work to be done. What? What was it about basketball that drew you to? It was just happenstance. Like what was your story to get into the NBA frickin locked almond? I'll tell You. you how this role doubt. I went to undergraduate degree Goma moss degree. I'm the running the head trainer at a health club and Bristol, general managers going to hire train round in Neath me. I'm like, nah, I'm getting this job. What are you talking about? I don't even know where the free throw line is. I've got a book basketball times, but here's a great thing, and I'm so blessed over twenty one years. I was able to look at it a different way. So you looking at the mechanics level, how big the vertebrae is? Why are we doing this? It wasn't just like implemented clean because increase power, why? And if I'm seven feet in all the different, why am I doing this? What's my risk to reward? And if the guy is an unbelievable athlete, he plays really wrote, why am I trying to put two inches on his vote, Donna wanna, walk in his Co. stabilize always feet to prevent. It gave me an opportunity think through it does really interesting because it's like one of the most famous or infamous workout stories in the NBA the past fifteen years. Was Kevin Durant coming in the league and he couldn't bench one thirty five. How important is it for a prolific shoot at to be able to bench press at all a seven foot prolific as a his thing. I was at that draft and responding him on the Betsy, his Kevin Durant of so much respectful, his with the bench press shows you, it shows you if you can bench press rise, it important of non-important valuable tool. When you put it into everything that was broken, out of proportion was taken out of the context now, is it the most important thing? No, but it's a parameter. Here's what I love about. "Right so i'm i'm deployed so i play most of my video games in our little mwr facility you know in public right exactly so i mean like now by like recently i've been playing a boatload of fortnight phenomenal games immensely popular there's no nudity in it but you know i want to play some grant that donna wanna play some god of war i wanna play some far cry five or something and then some freaking weird sexiness comes up and of course that's right when like you know random person walks in and i'm having a press axe to thrust you know because it's like you have to do it as part of the story and i just feel awkward as crap like leland's a loser look at him playing virtual sex it's like when a new team comes up on when you're watching a movie on your ipad on an airplane you know like i have to put my ipod ipad down because i don't want someone to think i'm doing something unseemly on you know the deadline say the same thing because there's plenty of shows like i've i've got westworld on my ipad and i can't watch it on a flight or anywhere public because you feel like some sort of pervert and you don't and it's not only that like i mean i try to be cognizant of like is your child sitting behind me like you know like hey man look at that you know the dirty bearded freaking white guy watching his porno on the flight over here you know the difference between being like not a worrying about offended someone and just being respectful like that's being flight right right yeah it's being respectful yeah exactly but i just i could definitely do without reading second video games i don't need it except when you're watching chris how movie on your way to kuwait weird when i'm like implying iraq and they're playing twelve strong inflight movie like he's gonna get awkward i've done it i've watched it i'm like man i don't know if this is right or not screw it watch firefly for the fifteenth time sitting next to me and i'm like why are you rooting for the taliban those are the bad guys it'd be sorely disappointed when this movie is over spoiler alert we win look at that man's faith look how handsome it is do you think they're going to kill him off you know who that is branding cooper bro they're not killing bradley cooper off learn to cooper off man who was it happened off camera though all right man i'm chomping at the bits for these listener questions man okay all right so let's let's throw some of these out here what have we got with what do we got you got to pull it up real fast dude that you gotta prep me for second okay you can't hey there's there's this i got open up facebook i talked to like five we have in seconds maybe i'm still going on it now so west but one kicked it off because that was a manscaping okay and it wasn't questioned it actually has an exclamation point i'm super excited about saving my dick so matt you need to write us in less know what you're doing that you're so excited about now are you asking a question like how to do it or if you're doing it wrong bruises morning routine he's just like manscaping we're both record manscaping i don't know you busy i will say that manscaping is necessary it's necessary notice dude because otherwise otherwise you just get a jungle going on down there nobody likes that nobody nobody wants that someone was nobody wants it tangled up in there and lost in it so you're you're able to look past your partners lack of manscaping west that what you're saying just my own just just my own because of course if i'm gonna sleep with a dude i'm top clearly all right so we're not we're not looking to you the shave any hearts in there or designs i think you're going for a you're.

"Matters the guy that the bears invested in mitchell bisky was asked by a row jeff dickerson pretty straightforward questions about the potential quarterback controversy brewing in chicago if you could play look this drug preseason they should be streamed streak strains between oh no we'll be looking over show now there's no reason to mice the stars is his team on i was just able to get a lotta reps and there's things in that film that we can all learn from each other's reps and it's all about is getting better that is the correct answer young man that if a job well done if you're looking for how to pass media one on one and i don't know if the bears do media training like some teams do what i went through blog camp with the steelers they did a good bit of media training especially for the rookies the kind of acclimate you now guy like mitchell's been doing this since he was in colleges of quarterback at a big time school but that is the exact answer they draw up on the screen that is teach tape forget training camp forget going through your reads forget displaying the right technique that is media 101 teach tate that they will probably show to next year's rookies on how to handle the situation like that that being said full of it you can't tell me that mitchell wristy going back after that having the kind of night that he did thrown out there eighteen or twenty five a buck sixty six and a touchdown now context not against the top level competition this is preseason ones that you're not dealing with the full extent of the game plan yet either you're still working through a lot of these installs especially for mitchell i'm sure it's pared down at this point so let's not grade this like it's four hundred level still donna wanna one but it's enough forty that knows he was brought here for a reason to probably go back to that locker room when he seen all those text pour in from his boys in his family.
