"Much guy. Uzi dull do you ever feel he from the ila dealth. He is and that's interesting part of a very interesting. Thank you very much. Wow now see. That's that's an honor. Yeah yeah looking doll. Do you ever feel like you haven't necessarily been given the flowers that you deserve in terms of your content and whatnot leading in the game but like when when i saw uzi say that occurred to me. I'm surprised i haven't heard his name and more top fives beyond is. I love my flowers. That i get from the people that give them to me. You know i'm very appreciative of that. You know those that. Don't give me those flowers. Don't doesn't offend me or feel like i should get those flowers. The flowers i get. I'm satisfied with you. Know i'm gonna keep putting out music and you know. Hopefully i'll get on that level. I feel i got a lot of work to do to get on those levels right there. It's not impossible to do. Gigolo did you know and i remember when geographer started. 'cause i'm not mistaken. He was a dj. You know what i'm saying. And he went from being a dj to being an entrepreneur and one of the greatest emcees of all time and greatest businessman entrepreneur glades bidden exactly but he became one of the greatest emcees of all time. You know so. It's not impossible. You know what i'm saying to do. You know if you put your mind to it so it also does no age limit on his hip hop is forever. It's music in. Music is eternal so every time you get booked on one of those like nineties. West coast type festivals. Is that something. They are very excited about in terms of getting to see everybody and just. I don't know that must be fucking good ashville. It's an accomplishment like a high school reunion type thing over and over it a little bit more than that. It's an accomplishment that you know to be you know i. We was the baby the baby. Jeez the little jokes and now we're the originals and that is a very big compliment. A lot of artists majority ours. They come they go but we may music. Death was labeled. Well that is timeless. We made history and that's extremely hard to accomplish. That's rare and for any of these places to say or these festivals to say. We wanna bring the keys of the nineties to the table. And i'm included. That feels great. That's historic you know and i still feel. I have more to accomplish. Because i'm not on dogs level you know. And that's a level that i'm shooting to get on like you say i agree with you with that. 'cause i was on the airplane flying into newark and snoops on the plane. Now shit i remember. When dog was no none of those. We went to a club. Wednesday playing g. thing inside and we all come up. They see snoop snoop light. It was up man. I'm snoop dog names like okay. Okay we're trying to get in and they hit us would've hit snoop with a price you gotta pay dog like fuck. You mean i gotta pay. That's me right there. you're playing. Y'all playing mush it. They plan jeep that man. That's me right there. Man hundred bucks. He went from that to being on an airplane. His coronal commercials on an airplane in the airport dog is on television. Corona commercials cooking. Show with martha stewart's komo goes but only after. She cut the fed case. Well shit she had to kind of come to the dark side. Martha been dark side. Y'all thought she was on the light signing up to saying this she getting. You know what i'm saying. And then you know. She got caught and what she do. She wrote it out as crazy. Martha did our time. And i think a lot of rappers kind again to a level of respect right there shit man while the let me tell you something. She's cut from a different cloth. Me no respect we give. Mothers is relevant machine even in the circle of fun newnham saying why is fucking on a different level. And that's what's so great the love. She has for snoopy. You see what i'm saying. Because she's from a different place she's already upper echelon and for her to respect and love the dog. Like that tells you something. Great about the dog right. It's true. i got one last question for you. Sure whenever any of these young rappers pass away a lot of times. I noticed that there's a conversation about to pock. Like is it fair to compare this person's curry to puck or you know what what was it that you know i remember when x. accession tajon who has real close with died and i said something on podcast or something. I said something about like this is like to for the younger generation at tmz emails. Like moments later trying to get me to reiterate that on camera because still to pox name rings bells to the extent that if you just compare new wrapper to him that's newsworthy on tmz. Like one of the biggest news sources and they want to put the headline. What do you think of that. And is it fair to put anyone in that kind of conversation. And what is it that keeps to box name still that relevant the thing about it is struggle to win through to compare somebody to pop you know. Is it disrespectful. Numb saying they ain't been through that struggle day with the ad to do to make it is bigger and wrap to say that is like saying boxer muhammad ali of his time impossible. You know what. I'm saying literally impossible in. There's only one muhammad ali and that is a problem though. You can't keep comparing people to people. Why can't they beat a own individual originality. Everything is compared to somebody you can't you. They'll never be another mohammed ali. They'll never be another floyd mayweather. Then never be another great like these guys really. Think they'll why can't someone would be better than the..

You know what i'm saying and that's it is what it is. I was thinking so crazy that there's people that i'll interview or young people. I know who to them. They know everything about snoop dogg these days and everything. But i'm like you cannot imagine how cool i thought snoop dogg was when he was like this twenty something year old skinny as gang banger with the afro and the craziest music. And i'm like you are too young to understand what this guy was to us at that time. And you know to be honest with you. That's why you gotta be wary on who your children hang around. You know what. I'm saying who. They spend any time with when they're young very. They're very influenced. You know what. I'm saying you know that's basically. That's what made me how i was. You know 'cause mommy was taking church is boring day over here. Having to tommy life with all the girls beers what would you choose. You know right. I take a good old fashioned ass for sneaking out to had a time of my life with just a second. But that's the way we thought as a youth do time found out that the second worth of pleasure to cost you a lifetime. You know robbing a store doing this doing that. Quick cash and then you lose everything So some of us learn highway and our blessed enough to get past that others are dead. Don't have that same luck. Yeah it was pretty overwhelming when you think about how many people you probably know way more than me but who commit some crimes that maybe it doesn't seem like a big deal when they're eighteen nineteen twenty and you ain't seen him sense. Yeah i mean as you get older you consequences repercussions they kick in. You know because that's what comes with age. No one knew young. It's fun you know exciting excitement of the thrill the brush. And you know when you get older you look back and be like damn i would do it again. You know what i'm saying if i could. Because i'm the littlest nigga from a little league on the block and to survive all the things i'm survived in my life miracle Right because you know. I was there you know when i was young. My big brother draws them. Tony tobin brooming. You know bloomfield kennedy. Mcintosh sheltered me from all of that I'm saying kept me away from the homeys that was active. And you know so you. You're the bad kid at home. But then around all the rappers and death row and everything they were determined to keep you the good kid amongst the bad kids by time of death row. I was already. i was already system. Okay of band but like how much time has to actually pass between you like meeting big you and then you again with row. Oh man that actually happened fast because my brother went to jail and then he was gone and then When he was gone. I was there by myself. Was that like like. How did that seem to him now. He really wasn't tripping you know. He was happy that i was happy. You know what i'm saying. If he was home. I'll probably probably wouldn't even been f- rotate truth really during his bid. Okay right you know what. I'm saying because you know one thing about draws he'll invest in to you so you know i'll probably win the went that way because he would have been around. You know what i'm saying and what we was doing. Excuse me what we was doing me and bruni and kenny. You know who knows what would have happened but everything happens for a reason. I met snoop right before he got to death row and snoop the one who brought me in Right so like i said. Every negative is a positive. God took draws way and then god brought me snoop and you know snoop was there to keep me away from everything and then god withdraws back home and you.

"Now you see him talking about. How can you be serious chemistry. We all we got right. Does that kind of house to feel as as the years ago by like you just really hold onto the rappers that you fuck with like whereas when you're like twenty five or whatever there's a million motherfuckers you could potentially kick it with the ones that are still around twenty years later a time you learn to value friendship value to value people because people come and go but after twenty years. I give a minimum of a decade five years. Even let's go there you know and they still there and by that time you go through ups and downs you go through disagreements. You never know the real in any person to be mad at you. i believe it's just my opinion because when they mad at you you know the reels comes out and then if y'all still there after you disagreements you know that strengthens your relationship. There's a lot of people who have fights and then became the best of friends And a lot. who has not. I haven't that conversation with a one of my friends who's More in the streets and he's talking about how him and his armies could beat the shit out of each other and just go back to being cool like that doesn't sound like as much a part of my culture affiliate me growing up. We gonna fight is over. It don't really usually get back after that. Yeah you know in my my youth you know you get it off your chest you squad and then You know you actually respect each other one thing about a glitch squad earns respect You know what i'm saying. Any to alpha's you know they most likely are going to clash and bump heads and and get into it and then after that they'll have an understanding who's the alpha does really where that is about. It's all a fight has always jockeying for position and power and bullying. You know a lot of people they take it out on you. Because they can't take it out on the one they really wanna take it out bullying as establishing the social hierarchy. Yeah that's why you knocked the bully out. Once you knocked the bully out he respects you and bullies. Everybody else and everybody else. Look up to you to bully killer day respect. You respects you because you knock this punk ass bitches out bitch. We were having that conversation about how in the in the fistfight era the big guy was like the dominant male. You know when you with the hamis and you know people around have disagreements with others the first thing you do the law of the land sock the big once you put his ass down everybody else. Probably gonna flee and the one that stays down you know you the rest of them probably going to roll once you knocked this big mother out who everybody thinks the one Hit him first and once you put cut down you want some two. Does it bring up any memories that when you might have heard that your life in a movie The gambler yes in roset hank williams do not with kenny rogers. Honestly these kind of they all seem like the same person. Yes what they say about. His black thing was probably what the country fans would say about rappers. Right that's what they do say they all sound like. 'cause swore that i was kenny rogers who sang that song. One of them fucking. They're not going to be like oh. It was corrupt. It wasn't as it was. They don't carry them. Pay look it wasn't willie nelson. That's my uncle uncle. Willie your high with him. Oh yeah we smoke a lot of good pot to really. Yeah you know. Snoop you know my cousin. Snoop being with snoop you meet on is the greatest and Lily love my cousin. Snoop me and death cousin they love big snoop and you know dog. Always have us involved with things that he do like when i met. Brad pitt no yeah dog as what i love about snoop man. He doesn't know you stay over there. I'm going to be over here. No he says. Come on right. You know what i'm saying. He brings you to the party. So right uncle willie nelson smokes a lot of good pot kinda random tangent here but like i was watching. Tv the other day for first time in a while and i saw snoop corona add about fifteen times in the course of an hour. He's doing is so big zid. Like sobe on spiring. Like how many like how. He's been able to transition to this point in his career and still have so many rappers career. I started rapping. Raccoon was my idol But my experience with with snoopy you know and watching him in his his transcending in the game his elevation how you know being on the low well being on a high go into the low and then where he is now how he never let it bring him down. He's my idol. Now and every day i see something new. He's doing. i look at myself and say see. That's what i'm gonna do. His demeanor has everything you know. He taught me how to become a man. You know what i'm saying. Snoopy always tell you man. I and i was one of the main teachings i learned from snoop besides how to make song make a record a hit record and along those source. 'cause i was in the slaughtering emcees so i wasn't into making a record. That's what's so valuable about my project horsemen with razz cannabis and kill a priests because it satisfies that mike mike hunger. So that's why you guys are all hanging out okay. Because i was trying to think. I'm like why what is brought these these guys altogether. I mean you know album drops on the eighteenth. Friday tomorrow Oakland on i'm saying so you know everything we do right now. It's been so far gone so long since we was able to really be around each other because we all have our own separate lives and careers and so now that we've united and put this thing together. I make it a a main thing that whatever. I'm doing a want them around you know. Kobe is a key to that too because being so separated from everything and not being able to be around. People helps you to appreciate you know what i'm saying. That's why this album so valuable because you know we see how much we appreciate each other right. You know what. I'm saying so. We want to take advantage of that. I feel like a lot of us. Were taking a lot of things for granted and now we can kind of see the world. A bit more clearly totally. I mean like your family. A lot of us was taking our own families for granted you know and do the covy and a lot of people are going through this whole experience. Shock g is go black is gone. Amax is gone nips. He's gone. We lost a lot of good people too. This whole transition of this vid thing helps you to appreciate life appreciate your loved ones. Your family children parents. You know what i'm saying. Everything about life in so no emmy negative. There's a positive if you just look. I mean you seem like you're in a pretty good place. As i was watching a bunch of interviews over the years last night i was like this quite a few different levels to corrupt that you might get in any given entity different different versions of them. I mean you know. I gotta do it conscious consciously a little bit of showman okay. Have you ever done an interview. Where you hyped it up a little bit like that kendra grant a lot of people. Were kinda watching that and like is he doing like a wrestling bit here. A little bit or is this one hundred percent real know every everything i do is genuine right. I mean the only way to be you know you beat yourself. The only way i know so you know. I feel like clowning. I'm a clown. But i'm serious. I'm going to be serious. You know is this just who you are. I believe in one hundred percent. oh yes when. I feel a little goofy bulow goofy right back to say. Will you feel like your personality. I mean how much of a hot head where you and your younger days like. What was the age of the era where you are the most aggressive and has that just kinda considerably turned down over the years. We've learned to live a more. Mellow life I think ninety nine. They're laughing no peanut gallery over the hill yet. that's us. we are the peanuts gang years. We got snoopy as charlie brown right. Razz brown ran razzie brown. Hey.

"Joe biden. Come on man but man like you would've you would've liked to not have it. Be a situation where he was working with. Stranger were like they were. The vocals were paired with stranger producers. And they were like she were features. An album shorter than have it. Be the situation where the money bag. Yo is on record with dematic's which i mean like i'll like i love money baggio. I love buddy value. I love his music. But i'm not really trying to hear what a wreck team ex- i mean it's just kind of what we were talking about before Just kind of like a situation where d- amax is kind of having to keep time with the rope until it's his turn to jump in and then he gets slapped on the legs a bunch of times. Yes it's really like not. It's it's it's like deflating would you. Would you think of the wayne record the wayne record. the Oh dogs out dogs out. Yeah it's the the hook. It was just so annoying. I i look i. I know we've already is. That was that we think that the botto song and maybe the soup song in the most effective. I thought that the wayne record was pretty at least thought that feature was it made a lot more sense way does like the feature made a lot of sense of it was just that like the glue that held it together that they've been held. The two together was swiss. Beats which was the issue. Yeah yeah that's fair. it's just. That wayne is a much more credible person to really. I think you were talking about this earlier today before taping. But i was saying the like look i think. Wait when wayne makes his late career stuff that whiffs like i can never. I'm just sort of like. Yeah you you you to post peak to be doing this wayne. I know you've been through some stuff but it's just sort of like your. I don't know i wayne is chaotic. Rate is a persona z. Musician d. m. x. was chaotic as a persona any musician. But there's something about de maxes chaos. That leads me to forgive a lot. More stuff than i can with wayne maybe some sort of regional bias. I dunno. I honestly don't know what it is but the wayne feature league getting wayne on this album with the amax. I had this thought of like. Yeah you know. Wayne is probably one person who has been through shit in his life. That is roughly analogous to like shit de max's been through in his life and at least on the intro for the song even starts with wayne indiana max. Right wayne's doing all that ad lib. I got more of a sense of like okay. There is a basis for real camaraderie. Here that is entirely absent from the j. nacion song and frankly because ain't gonna ask anxious a jacket that still fits way lay. Were just no. There's no unpredictability left. And jazy. Or i think the knowledge versus good is i mean announcement. Yeah the now's verse was good versus bad. Get outta here. i'm sorry. I'm not going to take the versus. I'm just saying that in the lake. I mean yeah it's like it's the kindred spirits saved you're talking about before air both like crazy in the same way. Yeah in the. Yeah just that irony. Though of all the people apart from the revival of stuff right lake of all the artists to to feature on this album d. mexican wayne have the lease it of like they have so many degrees of kevin bacon separating them raisch compared to like the locks right. It was just like oh yeah. These people were all rough riders ri- or compared to jay z rayleigh d- mexican. Jay did a bunch of shit together. They did tour together right. Yeah knock life tour right And yet wayne is the one randomly. Like low. Wayne's the person who comes on and is one of the featured one of the rare features on this album that feels like it makes sense is wayne of all people. Meanwhile like again even the locks. Like i mean like it's also a situation where like wayne is mean a massive fan of like you know new york rap music And i mean like you know new new york Style like there was like the the the the phase out of where gibault's reeboks into wear egg vaping etc which was a sort of cross pollination thing but he's a fan of like new york rap music salsa blocks like so i mean i think that it also like in this sort of situation where you're piecing together fangs after the facts or you know retouching things after the fact that the very lease like it takes like fans to come in and make fairbanks work rather than like colleagues that are wishing somebody well and being like here. Take this verse especially when one of them colleagues jay z. Who's gonna come in and start rapping about cb to catalog or whatever he was talking about It's tough one of the things. We talked about In our episode before when de mexico in the hospital before he passed away You know one thing. I remember getting fixated on toward the end of our conversation was that m. x. More than someone like connie to me more than someone like fifty more than someone like j. like all others take all the superstars from that period. Right more than someone like jaw de mex- the the way he not to be cliche about a ballet wrestle with his demons ray in in was was he that that sort of moral arc. You didn't just have a career or kia damore great and there is this sense of a great internal struggle right. The guy was the saint augustine of rap music. Great diem max. Okay and that to me feel super influential on a lot of the post soundcloud stuff in a way that like no. It's not a one to one comparison like yes we get that southerners and not new yorkers right not to do from yonkers but southerners and their styles like have obviously technically driven a lot of the musical direction of rap music the past fifteen years or whatever but to me those element there are just so many specific raw elements that were very much not things. He had in common with other superstars of his day. Where i'm dislike yo di. Mx was the example for a lot of people like the way you talk about wayne being a fan rape you can look at someone like gucci. You can look at these people who are lake those demons right like in making music and having a public persona were you sort of where that shit on. Your sleeve is acceptable and encouraged and in fact becomes a large point of your music mir celebrity. All of that. You could trace the someone like the you could trace it to other people to you. Talk about scarface. You could talk about a lot of people who who who can claim responsibility for different elements of that. But so much of that is d mex and so to me if i'm gonna listen to dm xs last album. I kinda wanted to do justice that observation right that. It's not like d is not some he's not a backpacker like point of. Dms is not to be like joe. These kids don't you know these kids the today they kind of like something Like this is just in congress to have a.

"Of those like trendy things right and that's what that's one kind of posthumous. I'll maverick bows very much. We were talking about in that episode. And here yeah using this. You're really confronted with the fact that. Da max's his second case which somebody who who. We know very well who a lot of us grew up with. And who made it to be fifty making this record. And i think the features in particular are always whether you're talking about the gazelle to stop fray where you should've said that that feeling of like this guy. His voice is so broken and. When did you feel sense. Like he's being made to play catch up on his own album. But even with the people in his cohort right like the it feels like there's so much contrast in feel like almost contrast that i feel is kind of unflattering like disrespectful rate where it's like that first song the first hour. That's my dog right. The that's a song with this. A song with the locks right in the locks like bring it on right but yeah you listen to it in a sort of a lot about how you know part of how the locks obviously aren't drake greatly the locks. They're not huge. The locks people who care about rap music. Let's be clear right. They don't they don't matter in the same way to the same people. To whom like kanye west matters right but to me the thing that made the locks me make sense. After the rough riders rate is like the locks had a sort of range and they had a willingness to frankly get away from swiss and make songs both as a as a group and solo artists. That don't sound like swiss beats records. Ray yeah like styles and jada you know in just in the past decade right like they've done a lot of different things and they have in their sort of pot-bellied age rate is jada wants put it like says. Don't die to get chubby and moved to miami right They've done stuff. That distinguished them and you you think about that you think about how the locks kind of grew into their own niche over time i think specifically because they got away from puffy and then they got away from the rough rider aesthetics in a weird way. That's being put up against max and on like mex- on his own album right and also on a swiss track and sort of like. Oh yeah like d. They're beats kind of trying to. He's always been trying to fossilized diem. Max in a specific period of early take trying to cast it an amber like the early two thousands Like global hit era of his of his career is kind of like that works. Let's do more of that forever way but even as you bring on all of these features from artists who very much did not do that. The locks did not do that. That's not that's not how they became beloved in the way that the locks are now and so it just feels like this annoying contrast when i listen to the song where it's just like man. I wish de mexico joined the locks and never made a song. Swiss beats after like two thousand six honestly unit. I mean that's kind of. I mean high for the same reason that the following track with jay z gnaws feels strange. Just because it's again it's like two rappers. I took a very different sort of passed to prominence like a smarter. One like one that you kind of wish that the would would've taken what i don't know about that because i actually think i'm bath salts was slipped from me where it's like iris. I feel better. I think nas is the best person that song. But i think d- amax has a much better energy than jay z because jay z. You kind of feel like a of jazy this song. Because first of all he goes first and second of all he is like he's rapping about shopping at crate and barrel like it's it's one of those jay z. Versus right where you're just like. What is this guy is this fucking. What is he talking about who cares. This guy is wrapping his interior decorator. Like this is not real problems like it's like in order to be believable on the sar. You still have to be able to take or have taken the subway the last decade which i mean no no no that that that one promo video where he wrote the the subway to the to the nets game when he was like a minority owner of the nets When they had like the marvel crossover motion and all this other shit that was going on. I think there was in late. Two thousand nine. So i i mean i really do think that in the last decade he is not the subway therefore you cannot be on the saw. Bassett's yeah you know what i mean. That's what i'm saying is that it feels like the verse haute. Disrespectful is i is. He recorded that versus thinking. It was going to be like spliced into as reclines podcast. Right not a dam. I don't know there's so much the ask there's other stuff like alicia ki- like you know the the mx alicia keys song. I at least thought had like the skeleton of a a strong record write in a leashes presence on the chorus isn't too over the top. It feels kind of you know the best thing i'll say about it is it at least feels appropriately. Bittersweet and low. Key in a way that dea mexican kerry with that voice at at that age trae where so much of the rest of his record feels kind of like it's being thrown in your face that like i don't know the so much of the record. Made me feel frustrated. Because it's just like don't don't put this man last on his own songs on the last album. He will ever get to make like come on man. Don't me do the.

"Disagree or agree. Why now i wanna make. It is why. I absolutely agree. What was this on that we were talking about Just before we For we got oh yeah. It was and the the bath salts featuring jay z gnaws. Yeah like just. I mean those words together in a sentence like that. Is you know not really something that makes a lot of sense. But by there's just like thirty three percent too much. Swiss beats like i would say like a cross this out as it tends to be just like there's too much like the like the What does that it knowing that the annoying pitched ups. That's vassals that kind of like drowns out what would be the rest of the you know what i'm talking about. Yeah but that's such a swiss beats thing in general right and maybe swiss beats peak as a producer. Those ticks and his songs felt more novel and they felt more confident and they they felt more peak rate and so the fact that swiss beat songs are always kind of annoying. They always have thirty three percent too much going on but one. I think it's different. Like d max was fifty when he recorded this album right and you can hear. It's like heartbreak. You can hear him flagging for this record. And so when you partner. That with kind of the more grading ticks and swiss beats production rate It feels a little like it's out of step with where the rappers at that a good way to put it. I think i think bats that is probably If i could say like if i could represent a visually think about like d amax slumped on that highlight easy chair. D'auray like the verses while beautiful is playing like snoop. Dogg has dancer. He was like sitting in the chair. Him experts break belly poking out. Just being like you know just washed an old ed like you know wonderful and now imagine that lay diem is wrapping this album from that chair but swiss beats is like jumping on the table behind him like. That's kinda miss messages that you're getting with this up. Yeah and i'll say the energy that that energy that sort of bittersweet twilight energy demeks in it's more pronounce on some songs and others raised so that itself is kind of jarring. There's some songs we it's kind of like classic the amax and there are other songs we like. This guy is fifty. You know what. I mean surprising because again i was mentioning housing drink champs and how that was the first time i'd process the idea of a. I'm going to hear a new m. x. Album is that in that interview interviews. Long that interviews beautiful and it goes that interview goes to some weird places but dx energy in that interview is so good right so so while i was processing the idea of like this man making songs with bano. Oh no we gotta hear another alicia keys song. you know. it's i'm comparing that. Though to the fact that in the interview with nori dmt sounds so good. You know he soundly. He been through some stuff in life but he sounds like he's in a good place and then you put this album on first of all you processes death right. You process everything that that lead up to his death. You process that week when we were all refreshing. Tmc any you process this music and yemen. That sense of fatigue is so much more pronounced than half of these songs and so that itself feels like kind of. That's like the worst sort of let down because it's not like any sort of artistic failure just sort of like man like he. He was winded in a way where. I don't know the feeling of listening to this album. Is like he is giving you the very last gas in his tank is what it's yeah. Yeah yeah i like. It was the song. I texted you about was Hood lose like which was honestly the the way that i i heard. It was like on Shuffled a different playlist house listened to on spotify. And that was the first song that i'd heard from the album and i was just kind of lay. Oh like they got a posthumous team. Experts for like some of their new lake without looking twelve projects. They put out this week. but now. I mean like it's an songs like suffer from lake the the issue of a minimum. Because he doesn't go first so when he comes in after. I think benny the butcher goes like second lasts. He's a cruel bought gobbled szott side by just like he sounds like he's trying to catch up to everybody else. Yeah in a in a way. That is not bike. Fun you know. Yeah in the songs do it so consistently him going last or at least not for his own album rightly the first the song with the locks. He's last rapper. On the song. Song jane nice. He's last rapper. On the song you know he gets buried so much in his own album It's funny because like part of our apprehension rate as we mentioned up top as we've we've talked about the amax recently on the pod and we even talked in a different episode about posthumous robbins. One thing posh. Yeah posthumous rap albums. Right we talked about that though. Bosh miss rap albums you know we. I think we're thinking more of people like we're thinking more of like younger rappers younger rappers. Who are who sort of go out in their prime and meet these tragic ends and people like pop smoke right. we trying to sit of. It's a similar situation where somebody trying to cobble together. The last bits of recordings that they wanna to put out his commercial release For somebody who we haven't sort of gotten to they really know yet right or fully. No yes yes it will. I mean i guess for the the. The awkwardness of those albums comes from the fact that these people are yet they. They aren't fully four as artists yet. They don't have like an of to speak of you know like there's not come to think of it like remember when they used to have that The the twitter after that could tweet pot that would like do fake posthumous tweets for you But i mean oh do basic only as good as the tens of thousands that you already had you know because basically it synthesizes the data like an aggregate from all the stuff that you've tweeted and then like the more that you tweeted. The more sincere posthumous tweets make you run them through that anyway like it. It's it's the same sort of principle like I mean and then there's also like the like the business side of things where it's just kind of like the entire industry on smoke posthumous album. Because ed virgil abloh designs cover because it just becomes one.

The Life and Music of DMX
"We're going to talk about de mex- great artists who died at the age of fifty and we're going to look back at his career and kinda just get into what made him important. Were made him interesting which was a lot. He was a fascinating complicated gifted troubled artist. They had a lot of sides to him is pretty interesting to go back to the music to go back to his life store and just we remembered. What a complex dude he was. Jeff you're a great piece about the amax. Maybe can kind of just sum up some of what you said there and some of how you see him in context. Yes i mean. I think as you said you know. He's obviously a really complex figure within the world of music and within hip hop as well in. It's always funny in situations like this for me. Because i'm relatively young. In comparison to most of the people who i think spoke out most about him. When i was really first coming out i was like five or six years old and even then even still you know. I have such vivid memories of those songs kind of raining. Everywhere i went and as i got older and as i got into teenagers adolescents. College years looking at someone like the mets are looking at his legacy has been so interesting for me. Particularly as some of his interested in the ways in which celebrity functions in our culture in our society. And i think is for all the amazing music made for all the amazing movie and television appearances that he's done and for just what a positive cultural figure he was overall. He's such a good example of the ways in which i think. Our celebrity culture can fail people despite their
