Audio Branding and Marketing with Audioburst founder and CEO Amir Hirsh
"How can brands or marketers. Get involved in audio in your mind. You're at the forefront of where audio is going some curious where you think people should be getting involved so i like to think about it as Two types of activities. They should be included in thinking about it. As let's bit in in order and on audio okay. When i thought about in all your means they should start placing their message their brand their marketing activity within the audio dimension itself. So either if they can do it. Then i recommend produce their own podcast upload their own content so much like they've invested in creating blogs before in order to deliver the directly their message with no intermittent intimate in in between they should create a podcast where they can add their own voice in story through it. Because people would like to listen about your company if they're going to start in investigating into your product and they wanna hear about it and as audio breasts and others are gonna make all your more accessible and searchable you want your clips in your story to be heard than to be included so within the audio by producing it or by exactly like what we're doing right now being interviewed by making sure that your product is exposed to podcasters lead casses review. Your product. understand what you're doing interview you place your message within the stream of audio because it's going to be extremely popular and that's where people are going to learn and get information and would like to hear about your brand okay. That's the first level that they can do. The second is what i consider the on audio as audio becomes more and more popular more emotional people become more connected with it. It creates an opportunity to sponsor all your to support audio so and they don't have to appear in the content itself but they can place their brand around it in sponsoring playlist sponsoring podcast. Creating an audio event within their of third party of curation of content is relevant to their vertical and the topic but brought to you by this or that. So let's say that i'm an. We'll go back to the automotive industry. Let's emma brandon wants to emphasize car safety and safe a driving than perhaps i created this audio event of curation with podcasters around it or existing onto the we've selected and connected and we recommend our customers to listen to that kind of content all brought to you by my brand as an example saying goes for the running shoes same. We'll go for any other brand marketer that wants to create that brand affinity between their brand and the topic and the content that they're potential customers care about. That's the on audio marketing. So you don't have to produce it an appearance in it you can just curate. It and you can create stories around the be the content. Dj of your customer. That's the kind of refill and marketing activities can do around audio and it reminds me. I've said this before on the show but it reminds me of Frankly like going way back in time when there were only three or four. Tv stations and the advertisers or sponsors were more intimately involved in not just being on on air so to speak sponsoring or or helping but they many times helped to craft the program itself and the being in the show so to speak or in audio and there's elements to that i think based on what you described it. I mean it's just a much bigger ecosystem to play in now and so many more different applications to do it. But i think you nailed it in terms of like just being in the program in the audio or surrounding yourself around or on the audio. It's kind of an interesting way to break it apart.

What about those smaller family owned mexican tequila scholar brands. They deserve the hype. And so now the tweet that went viral. That i did see. So the issue is the fact that she's naming the eight. She's really not funny when she's from calabasas which is like the rich part of the when he was also probably lived in. Encino on again is the rich part of the day when eight valley super super valley. But it's been terrible of our above. There is a little bit different situation financially. Ya but see years you bring up a good point. Let the tweet said. Why don't we give the attention to the mom and pop brands. And that's so true like white. Why don't we warming because we like what we like to think. A companies have done better job making better tequila branding. It better But do i am. I offended as a mexican offended. That kendall is starting to a meal chettle speaking. I'm not offended. You gotta look at it like this to. I'm sure the people producing the la are from cadiz. Go so right. Yeah so that in a way she's generating jobs down in mexico more. Holly i mean it's taken from the mexican heritage but she's also financially given given to the people in a way i mean they're working for but you look at george clooney right. What does he cuss amigos. First of all people love to hate the card ashes number one number two eight one eight probably pissed people off so you know that's the thing that she has some strikes against her and that's what's helping. You would also sucks though. I'll say this. I don't think people were coming at the rock. They coming at george kalonzo weather coming at for brand only female. That's another way that. I i see what you're saying. I see why it within a female though. It's the cardiac. I think more than right leslie. I am dj for them. And i know you're going to play you know you're going to be polite here. But other people love to hate on them right. Oh yeah absolutely. Like they have to really. It's like they're walking on eggshells almost the questions. They just have to be very careful. Which is why i think they should have probably thought of the name a little bit more. You know but then again who's to say like like you said jeff. They grew up in the eight one eight. It wasn't. It wasn't the hoodie way. But it was still the eight one eight personally. I don't have a problem with it. I would have done more research on the name and she could've done like all the sisters together like you know named it. Four sisters done that in spanish lot. Cut akilah yeah. I like that would have been cool. I hope that when she campaigns for this tech you can talk when she campaigns for this tequila. I hope that she incorporates. The real eight one eight campaign you know like like panorama city point did all those cities and so more in san fernando. Panorama city pajama friggin. A north hollywood is where i was born so like i just really really hope that that she she you know incorporates the actual culture the actual mexican culture and eight when he culture in her campaign by the way the keillor's produced by gopher essay are the seven distillery. And how these again. She's providing jobs in a way. And and and i guess taking from us as mexicans culture right but i tequila that grew and kendall at you need some models for your camp pay the cruise show including you. Got the crucial baby girl. We will do sponsorship right here.
Deputy Political Editor of the Spectator, Katy Balls, Discusses Where the U.K. Stands on COVID-19 Vaccine Administration
"Yes and katie. Boris johnson is trying to lead the way on this discussion. What does the u k position. Severe macron is Five percent of the current vaccine intake. I think that the strong sense she got from ministers involved with this is that they don't want to give away vaccines until they have been able to offer a vaccine not just to the most vulnerable. But ideally everyone in the country and tens of the adult population. And i think this goes to a desire by the uk to almost tried. Reach head mean free. Immunization see something happening in israel. I think it's probably easier said than done. And even though we all very lucky to be high vaccine uptake country if you looked is rather as where we could be going the beginning to see slightly when for example at vaccines fatigue characters. I think the age group you go. The uptake still very good uptake. But no expansion to see the level you get say eight year olds amongst thirty roads. Now i think that when it comes to giving away vaccines. Dj very much does want to do that. And i think that they can see that. You can emerge as a global player by coming gossip benevolent as james touch and actually right near copies. Various governments have ready. Go ahead startled that. As to whether i think there is still some debate to be had because there has been idea at the senate. Mtv countries and food scheme at has been talked about the idea of countries in africa. And beyond. But i think that that has also been to airmax. Mp's such as if the public violence is very far behind the uk. Actually as close allies neighbor. We should be stepping in there now. I think what might make this decision. Earlier is ultimately what is the desire what is demand for some of the vaccines. The uk has given hearing more reports of various european countries. Saying they don't want the oxford vaccine may be actually some the things he geeky has to offer an received. But i do you think the senses that this will stop being a problem soon. Enough because ministers and officials believe that you'll start to see the data showing that the oxford astrazeneca vaccine does have a really important facts and what she had that that the level of skepticism is going to go

"dj" Discussed on DJ Force X in Conversation
"I would have loved to have then. Yeah just for the retiring and just for this or just for the platform really. Because it's kind of like. I always like when i look at it now. Always say as an equal platform. So you could have you know. As releasing something have china's release day. And then you can have like a smaller unsigned or independent. Buying relations signed day and it sold on the same format. It's sort of like i'm throttling. There's no overwhelming stock of of a record store. Like a massive display of re fighters or taylor. And you'll get your you have to go through the thing. Find it under the the the the initial under yeah whereas now you can kind of like you can find stuff so much easier online special. I do find sometimes. It can be a little of the whelming intensive music office. What i want to listen to. And maybe i just got back to what i've always just kind of also what i did with cd's. Before i you know i would get to see listen to it until it pretty much didn't play anymore mourn and now you know you know got a fairly reasonable von collection Annette slugout sort of like audio file. listened to a record on on vinyl and saikawa thing. It's like let's put a record on tonight rather than destroying something because you can just do that. Whenever i'm at the y. Trade and yeah. I'm very much vinyl. Dj robert bye-bye. I'm not going to be my camera but little rabbit my record boxes full of vinyl got. Dj wants using bottle. And it's hot tea jank punk music and like all these things like two minutes and trying to find the groove after two minutes is quite job. It campers difficult. Like i. I do buy metal rock punk clubs here and none of them actually to be fair. I've ever done vinyl set for them. Which i really wanted there at some point buck turntables next to me here so i do that online now but yeah you're right with some of those punk tracks because a minute and a half two minutes long and you're trying to like if it's on.
Gogglebox faces union probe after reports of backstage bullying
"Let's kick off with some behind the scenes telling us a member of the crew on channel four's goggle box says that working conditions on the show Quite inhumane we know. These things are report by friend of the politics. Morrison adt the guardian ad for us. What exactly was alleged by this. Anonymous recently departed member of the production team and my understanding user as being a number of different allegations including People having to work extremely long hours in edit some you know. Obviously that has the kind of unsatisfied. Shen from the higher ups which is caused the shouting and various bullying bullying allegations from there And it just seems it's it's a production where the pressure was Just really piled on. I say union members to stop at anything union members off. It's kind of everyone that wasn't a top level. Seems to have really go in the neck when it comes to that production wished. Just frankly is i just personally. Don't get it. I think when you show. That's not big why it doesn't have all the resources to to make sure that everyone can run. That production properly is beyond me from my perspective. I joined the industry. Because i thought it was gonna be fun and i think that once you get into it because of the freelance culture because of the way that there's so much pressure and over the years because times and budgets have been squeezed. It's it's just become more and more stressful to to get things done and on also on top of that. There's been a huge amount egos creative egos existed in this industry as we as we all know and sometimes they can tip over into being a an incredibly toxic workplace And i just think it's i just think is really really sad that we have to wait until all of this outrage comes out and people have to make kind of complaints anonymously before inkling donna it. We should stress that they are compliant. Onuma sources as studio lambert gave the guardian a statement saying it takes the welfare of its teams extremely seriously across its productions and has a number of measures in place to encourage people to come forward with any concerns they may have as well as support systems for range of issues in the last twenty four hours back to his joined in as well having what if they've been saying they've set up their inquiry and i think they look they want to look much more broadly at the industry as a whole rather than To qassam on google books. But i think nobody box is a really good example because it is a very wealthy well established company. It's very well established brand that be making it. For years i mean obviously. There's the very fast turnaround on it. Which would put enormous pressure on on rolling those shows out but nevertheless it's a brand that's existed for a really long time and so by the time the series whatever you would think that you would have your production process. Fairly well oiled and organized. I just think it's about the culture of companies that can arise and as far as said when you go sania nia people who behaved badly. It becomes very very difficult for junior people to to call them out. It becomes very difficult. Doesn't it when it's a hit. That's kind of what we learn here. Isn't it because. I know from friends in the industry as well. The you actually take the job with a spring in your step as a freelance. Because you think we'll get through it for six or twelve weeks and then i'll have a terrestrial credit on my cv and it's well paid and there's no point making a fuss about out. Just do it because it's goku box and it's a hit sort of unlikely that studio lambert and gentlemen were completely unaware of the gossip. Everyone else was completely innocent. Yeah ice been known in the industry for quite a long time. And i absolutely would not believe they were not unaware and of course unfortunate that culture of coming in for twelve weeks thirteen weeks ain't going away and saying nothing encourages. The practice continued. Never she gets surfaced until for example surface. Now i think in a way this is not a new story and indeed on this very podcast. We've discussed this topic several times in the past and we've talked about it not just in the context of tv production within other sectors in the media industry but sick in the newspaper industry for example where As almost being an acceptance in the past by subs pushing people on stories pushing them to get more copy out and so. I think you know any industry that permits bullying by management should not be allowed to do so. It's not an acceptable practice. We all understand that deadlines can be tight. We will understand that. Maybe resources a tight. That's something you have to sort of live with. But how you handle that pressure or how you deliver. That pressure is difficult. I mean there's nothing wrong with the manager setting a deadline. But you don't shout at people you can always discuss things in a calm rational way to say. Look either it can be done or it can't so this sort of shouting culture bullying culture unacceptable but it does seem to be it's almost become endemic and almost accepted in certain sections of the media. And it really has to change. It really does.

"But we start off with a bombshell out of amazon founder. Jeff bezos is stepping down as ceo. He will become the company's executive chairman the stock higher in the after our session. Let's get straight to. Dj bosa with the details depot. Melissa bombshell indeed basis handing over the reins after amazon strongest year in terms of revenue and profitability but this is also a challenging time for the company. It's facing labor shoes as its workforce surpassed million employees last year. And of. Course there's antitrust scrutiny. Which isn't expected to go anywhere in fact just after. The news broke republican representative. Ken buck tweeting out quote. I have some questions for mister josse. He has of course been a key voice and tech antitrust debates now. I just asked to amazon cfo. Brian might expect from a jazz lead amazon and he said that andy brings his own skill. Set his a visionary leader in his own right and he understands what makes amazon such a special innovative place or south. Ski also said that. Investors can expect a lot of continuity because jeff bezos will still be very involved and he will have input on new businesses and product. Lines remember too. That bazo is still amazon's largest shareholder. So he's not exactly retiring here now. The timing the announcement may come as a surprise. Melissa but certainly not the man who has tapped to take over and jesse has been at the company almost as long as and he pioneered the cloud computing business years before rivals. Like google and microsoft. Even got started now in a memo to employees. Bezos writes that jesse will quote be an outstanding leader and he has my full confidence now as for earnings which was certainly overshadowed by that announcement they were very strong indeed. Interestingly though jesse the cloud chief he will be taking over as aws growth is decelerating and as online sales growth both north america and international. They're actually growing at a quicker pace than

The last discussion is With quite get your journey like into blockchain I've done countless interviews now over the last four months and it'd be It's interesting you know. Love to hear your side and you found out in the rational and how you got into blockchain shore. So i i heard about it from the wired article in two thousand and eleven the rise and fall bitcoin which a lot of people probably heard him read and i remember thinking. Oh this is cool. And that i remember tossing the magazine aside and then nothing about it again. For a couple of years i moved out to san francisco in end of two thousand twelve december. Two thousand twelve to work on marketing tech startup. Six years working on that. But when i moved to san francisco. I moved into this hacker. House called twenty mission Right in the center of the mission district is crazy place a day. After i got there they were shooting horror. Fill there Just to give you kind of an idea of like what the building looks like They didn't need to change the scenery. It was ready to go for the film So there was like a clown getting murdered or something like that right outside my right outside. My door They eventually built it up a little bit. Got a little bit nicer but it was basically. I started by a early bitcoin supporter and essentially everybody. There was some sort of Some sort of a bitcoin enthusiast. The second bitcoin exchange was launched in the basement of the building Trade ill second. Bitcoin exchange in the us. bunch of early meet ups were in the building. The talk was giving talks in or courtyard before theorem. Live was basically everybody that i met when i moved to. San francisco was crypto person. Maybe three weeks. After i got there read the white paper You know maybe rented another couple of times just that first week thought it was one of the most amazing things i've ever heard was a little skeptical about whether or not this could actually work implementation. Wise i'm not ankle so i of needed to trust might eleborate friends. Essentially that this was like real from a tech perspective. They convinced me that it was and reading about it and think about it. Ever since i was more seven years ago. So how is living about pat. I don t twenty mission. It's not there anymore. I don't think right though. There is a lot of phases so a lot of a lot of those early folks in a lotta. Those early crypto folks are have since moved on But it was it was. It was pretty wild in the back in the day. I mean they were doing doing five hundred person. Y- parties with multiple. Dj's going until six am and stuff like that A lot of meet ups. It was amazing. I met so many. Jimmy's metallic was so he's to my. Cto is what was in a hacker house. I don't think he was. I think he might have been twenty mission as well but there was another one. A nearby and metallic was pitching a theory at that time Which kind of blew. Everybody's mind when he was trying to sell tokens and obviously my cto. Now wish he would have awesome. Yeah yes i didn't actually. I didn't get to talk to patel. Bear but it i did a. I was taking this class collection. You in south bay. And i think twenty fifteen and batali gave a talk Talking about a theory. And what. I heard it. It sounded like the most convoluted confusing thing ever. Everybody was like why. What's gas wise there. Gas is that different than ease. The token like it was just so confusing hours. Like is this really. Is this really going to work. It just seems so So bazaars i i didn't i didn't immediately get it. I don't think i'm probably took me another year. After the thing was was live when i started seeing some apps and then finally once i could see apps i was like okay now i get it now. This is a decentralized platform for apps
Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari post same exact photo on Instagram
"Chris cavalier ian jay cutler blew up the internet this weekend. Everybody was freaking out. After the two of them posted joints matching instagram's the same photo the two of them together. Khorasan kind of has like this bad ass. Like don't fuck with me pose kind of going on and the caption that they both posted the same caption saying the world is full of users. Ten years can't break that very intense. People were very confused. They back together. What was going on. It does seem like they're not back together. This seems like it's actually a direct response to madison from southern charm going on instagram. Live and talking about j. I don't. I didn't watch the instagram live. I've just been seeing tidbits of what she had said on social media but it seemed like she was talking about j. A lot or looting. Dj a lot and then she teaches blow up. Like i think this was a direct response to that and madison and austin and all the drama that kristen j been pulled into recently which is also like you know not totally kristen. Jay had their own involvement in all of that word seemed like they were along with all the shit. That was all the drama. That was going on. So i don't know but it definitely blew up very very interesting. I don't think that kristen j back together. And i didn't think that when they posted the photo i think it was more so you know there's been a lot of talk about them not getting along and you see it in in social media them does not getting along and kirsten posting with all these guys and jay color during the same thing like going back and forth at each other so i feel like there's been a little bit of animosity on social media so then you like they were almost being like. Hey guys we're fine. We're going to co parent. This that the other thing is we're not going to be back together. That's what i took that as but now hearing all of this about madison from southern charm. I now think that southern charm singlehandedly trying to take down cruising cavalieri and jay

'The King of Talk': Remembering Larry King
"Larry King has died. He was 87 in a career that spanned 60 years. Larry King interviewed just about everybody. Reporter Jeff Lunden has this appreciation. With his trademark suspenders and his deep baritone voice tinged with a Brooklyn accent. Larry King spoke with Presidents George Bush is our honored guest for the full hour. Next on Larry King Live World leaders Moammar Qaddafi. The leader of the nation of Libya, celebrities, the brilliant Barbra Streisand, authors, scientists, comedians, athletes and on and on and on. I'm always engrossed in the guest. Larry King spoke with Jesse Thorn on the turnaround podcast in 2017. I'm always listening to the answer. I'm always learning, So I guess I'm better every day at learning. The Brooklyn born King actually was an indifferent student, but said he always had an innate curiosity when we would go to dodge it. All my friends wanted autographs at the injury. I never asked for an autograph, but I would walk with the players is they're going to their cars asking questions. Why'd you bunt? Why they do this in the third inning. My curiosity is still insatiable. King began his career is a DJ in Miami, and it's where he got his name is well. When a station manager told him his given surname, Zeiger was too ethnic. He chose King from a liquor ad in a newspaper. By the late 19 seventies, King had an overnight talk show on national radio. Then the 1985 Ted Turner hired him for his new network, CNN. Media commentator and author. Bill Carter, who's a CNN contributor, says the timing was perfect. Picking up something like Larry King may love sense because he had Establish himself kind of as a guy who could get big guests. They could have big names and promoted and became sort of the linchpin of their prime time lineup, and King stayed there for 25 years. Some critics complained that he was too chummy with celebrities and lob softball questions. It is guests. His strategy was I'm never gonna make the guests uncomfortable. And that means not only will they come back, but they'll tell their friends. He won't ask you about that ugly divorce of yours. You know, he'll ask you about your favorite movie, so he didn't challenge people, But he did get information. He was pretty good at that, like when he talked with ex President Richard Nixon. Well, I don't want to dwell in the Watergate thing that's been covered so well. But some personal things when you drive by Those collections of buildings. The hotel the two apartment houses the office building, You feel weird, funny. No, I never give it a thought. Never given a thought. Never given a thought. That's one place where you just don't look back. As far as Watergate is. I know you don't look up at the buildings themselves. Not at all. Not a matter of fact, I've never been in the Watergate. Larry King famously didn't do a lot of preparation before his interviews, the less I know. Better Now, That sounds strange to people. Like If you wrote a book. I wouldn't read the book for interview do because I would then know too much about the book and I'm in the same boat as the audience. They haven't read the book, but King knew the national zeitgeist. He covered the first O. J. Simpson trial every night, says Bill Carter. He basically started the cable monomania move. We're going to just cover this story. That's it In a way. It was perfect for life because it was celebrity oriented. It was in the news, but it was not political. Ultimately, CNN canceled King show because it wasn't political competition from Fox and MSNBC took its toll on the ratings. But King was a survivor. Will Houston Texans trade QB Deshaun Watson?
"I tell you. I don't know if houston will actually trae does shawn watson because there. They would be idiots if they did. But it is houston but it is houston a. b. if shawn watson is the one asking for the trade than you at least have to give it consideration because you do not want an unhappy quarterback because then that turns into an unhappy team. Yeah and if if you're a new general manager there's no better way to make a statement then to immediately come in and get a franchise quarterback that still in his prime. Yeah just ask the question. What would you trade for. Deshaun watson and i will make this easy for the both of you. I will go ahead and give you my answer. Whatever in the hell houston basically literally. I would trade them whatever they want you can name player a draft pick or a combination of the two and i would agree. I think from a team building perspective. That's the way to go. I just like from a panthers fan perspective. I wanna keep the players that we have that. I like no green other sites that coin. Yeah the fan in me. I don't wanna trae brian burns. I don't wanna trade. Jeremy chinn don't wanna trade dj more. I don't wanna trade christian mccaffrey house and say yeah. I mean i don't order those guys. But if houston asked for any combination of them. I would do it. You don't get the opportunity. To get bonafide franchise quarterbacks five years old still in the prime under a reasonable contract. In the first year he would only count like ten and a half million dollars against our salary cap this year now next year that have to do an extensive because his cap number jumps to like thirty five million. They would have to figure out a way around that but they could do it.

Instead of the cowboys. I was rooting for the roberts and the cops and i started listening to punk rock nice and when i started listening to punk rock. I one of the band's i loved what is the subhumans from the uk and they had this song called subvert and supper at city they started. There was a song in the song they sang about a comedian and and i found myself. Kind of being thrown in to the comedy world unintended
Plaid plans European hiring spree despite Visa deal falling apart
"Clad and visa have ended plans for their monster merger almost a year after it was announced visa has cooled off. Its deal to buy fintech plaid for five point. Three billion dollars off to the us department of justice sued to block the transaction on antitrust grounds. We're confident we would have prevailed in cooled as plaid's capabilities. A complimentary to these is not competitive. Said al kelly chief executive when the deal was announced in january. Twenty twenty mr. Kelly said it would put the combined company at the epicenter of the fintech world but the doj moved to block the deal in early november arguing. That visa had chosen to a quiet plod because it was developing payments platform that would challenge visa dominance in the sector. Zach perry plaid. Ceo says it has only just begun will also stating it grew. Customers by sixty percent added hundreds of banks to the platform recently So ouattara thoughts on this. I suppose i double on the doj's decision. They made the right decision And then on top of what you think is next applied and indeed for visa you know visas strategists the scott. What's it gonna do instead Who wants to confessed on this one. I have no obvious. Talk on the story bradley. I'll go straight to you oklahoma. Dj positioning oversee. This was a memo. I think the visa describing is future competitor. But it's kind of like if you look at shell or chevron will be one of the big oil and gas guys if they go and invest heavily all by one of the renewable energy providers without be something the doj against odin think. so so. i don't view necessarily a competition. It definitely is an aggressive move would have been by visa. I'm but it's not. Apples to apples. Is competing new way of paying the more. Traditional banking rails. I'm it wasn't than buying competing conference. That i think would have been than trying to own their own. Their own immedi system. So i'm sure agree. With the ruling on deeply never went cold so almazo writes Will arenas once it's interesting time. Isn't it broadly. The famous volcano picture was the Was was the that was mentioned and this idea that plot was gonna move in that direction. The doj's argument was always that will fees is nearly sixty sixty five percent market share in the us. It's clearly dominant position if they're acquiring something that could compete with the very called rails itself then. A potential competitive type was being taken off the table and visa would continue to own a even if the rails would move from called to something that was more account based are the question to your point as to whether or not that was ever going to happen but certainly in a lot of the country. I've seen online In the past a couple of days and days since cisco announced on twitter a lot of the vc community is sort of saying it looks like plot themselves may have been motivated to terminate this because five billion dollars for a for an api data company. Seems like a really big price when visa. I pays it. But it's a testament to why we are infantile. That plot could probably got a better deal. I'm and actually the growth in neo biking and challenging ranking during the pandemic has been so astonishing that why wouldn't plod to go somewhere else and could they built mobile themselves than they cut on the on. The visa's umbrella suddenly seems like fintech. Twitter is very very bullish homeless firm plots perspective. I'm but then also people who all big funds of visa think. This is a good move for them as well because it kind of moves them away from being They were always very friendly with the banks kind of the position with the big banks. They have a great relationship. Plods account dates are access is not very well liked by a lot of the major. Us banks indeed. Many of them have been trying to block access to screen scraping together on direct deals in place and that might be one of the biggest threats in plots business model so visas business just gets a lot clearer. All of a sudden plot may be able to go onum become that competitor or something else so a good result all around personally
Yankees, Corey Kluber Agree To Deal
"Corey kluber. Probably one of the big prizes in the off season free agency in baseball signs with that up and coming team the new york yankees finalizing a one year. Eleven million dollar deal so the yankees. Anki sound money but it's a one year deal you know. That's what free agents are getting one year deals. They're not dj lemay. You got more. But he was a free agent with the yankees. They're not trevor. Bauer still sitting out there. George springer still sitting out there. I mean if you're an owner of a baseball team and you can't bring fans in and you gotta pay the players for one hundred sixty two games to make money so not signing people too big contracts

They also had a good situation in become earth so i took the boat and went there for a week. Come other than that. I stayed home and now things are looking worse again. There's nothing much else to do. Tend to be at home or at the studio or do some work from home. Yeah so yes. I think i'm doing okay personally just wondering wondering when it's going to do it certainly something that's of affecting a lot of people around the world including myself trying to plan stuff with the family and whatnot. But it's just like even now. Because i i dj nightclubs as well. So they're closed. They've been closed since since march and and art. I see them opening again for quite a while here. I'm trying to like be positive about it and trying to like you know. Maybe you if. I'm doing online livestreams and stuff like that. But it's just it's just trying to figure out or at least it's just taking the guessing out of it would be nice because all these plans we put together are being pushed back further and further and five. Obviously health comes first. It's not it's not kind of thing but there's also the element of of wanting to scratch that creative edge or perform. Because that's what you guys. Do you know what. You've you've dedicated. Your life t to assign agrees. Is that side of it. And you don't feel selfish for trying to express yourself but at the same time you've got that kind of safety aspect and stuff basis of wondering aspect of still almost go over for a bit of colorado back again after thing after the second boundaries. That kind of what's going to happen to say. I am really fed up of course at this time. Oh yes. I would already optimistic or my my mind typical community. I'm always darkening again. I said hell i.

We'll you found this building. Yes yeah of police training centre about. That's really cool. Got a couple of singles else of online. This fan beige building You doing any kind of light on night performances or or if you get today that we have a really really big that is going to be permitted on december. Light bring me the horizon. Young blows tally. The creates a nurse We've we've got the help all the council we've also council funding to performance on his inmates. It's yet massive warehouse space than they've created they've created a streaming almost venue So we've got access to all of the best. Essentially the best. The world lighting rigs for this performance Having a variety of qassim elements from different videos. That we've done. We're going to be performing songs from the very first song week. We've written and recorded. Went onto bbc alter the songs that we've had and also to be a bunch of new songs that no one's health site is completely unreleased music. Wow a not so that's gonna go out on december twelfth and you can get tickets for online and you'll also have an option t be able to buy it and then have it downloaded so it's going to be ferocity. It's i feel like it's definitely going to be the thing a stumbling all korea around kind of says you know we all like this. This is where we're heading because we have prepared. We've got altogether just before lockdown. Fortunately enough. But i think arkansas for all of us really. When i say we're incredibly proud of it and it's gonna be yet is going to be going to be amazing calling foments because it's based on my journey through my mental illness. Everyone else is kind of issues in a demon that people have at a lot of the music. so miscarrying sweats. It's following from that head. Count on hora vibe. And it's essentially personifying mental illness. Through the idea. All off demons off secret natural kind of things and so we can have like a physical Foments as well and yet it's gonna be. It's going to be really really cool. So i would definitely check out on twelfth. Excellent check out. Check out who i mean. I love the way like yourselves. Have kind of found these avenues to kind of play of the venue co op streaming. Venny again a great business. Who for these days. It's going to be a while before we go back to. Having crowd caught fifty wealthy. But you know that sort of thing is really cool up. So senate evolve over over lockdown of in. Dj's kind of goto venues where they would play. And i play in front of a camera and the stream it live. You know whatever format and stuff like that and now. I'm seeing bands. Do it yourself. I think down southampton one of the venues with doing it for a little bit as well. Eighteen cover them but a year. She's like a lot. it did that. See the care bleed again. A whole bunch of other bands from that era and it was a good experience and just a well. I had point on the shy and they had a twentieth anniversary celebration of that albums. And they did this online performance as well Where they kind of entwined live performance which they were doing there and then but they had like vignettes between songs and stuff of creating that album and things like that which is really cool and just watching this evolve and like watching artists like yourselves. Get out there still and half that outlet for you because it's something that when he's taken away from you like that it's it's it's horrible but there are people thinking outside that box trying to like get a like new ways of getting music out that for instance unite printing film easy. You can kind of get say easy. Input on youtube where you can be a good filming bid on one the streaming services or they can sat with music. It's a lot more difficult because you're not signed to the same kind of thing a streaming services but that live element that needs to translate. The people need to see that energy behind it. And i look forward to seeing your performance. That's on yeah with with with oversaw validates. You're talking about as well sounds pretty cool. Gallon it's gonna be it's gonna be it's gonna be really special for us and it's going to be it's going to be where we will have to foaming but it's also it's entirely separate from a lot of the the touring that we them. Before has been very new balance. Torrens been quite small and the idea that we can essentially take off future. I'm presented in the lord street because this is the cyprus Aiming towards over the next five years something and okay space after the first two years of being a bonds is is actually thanks to the terrible situation that we find ourselves. "Like the hill. I i want people to have ambitions and dreams some over arching teams. Yeah yeah because a lot of musicians don't get that opportunity either because they they're either stuck with a commercial like centered label if you will or or whatever the driven by and they don't have that chance to really flex that artistic muscle that's what i was about site before with nuclear blocks. Just going yeah. That's our physical release their label. That kind of the that will that will like help. Abandoned that way because they a lot of allow music generally and it's just good for them to like just took a. Yeah let's do it rather than could you change that. Could you make bad single. Like i've had in my musical career. I've had like people come in bat. Creative that craig. Space and try and change things. But it's it's now and then like just to have a concept even you say even if it's crap but to the person making it is anybody wanna get out and with guys. I didn't take it in any of like. It's an epic song by the track and it's just go everything in it because i like it's sixteen minutes thirty. Th sixty minutes thirty seconds like islam. And oh wow what's this was about us all and then listening to and it's just ones like journey of music which is really cool. I really enjoyed it. And i hope everyone else does as well to be on. I think they will see. I'm not everyone. But i i just want people to appreciate that. Were were really making a short to to do something interesting. Yeah so even if people think that were pretentious But i think that. I mean i mean we're sweets more not donald trump whereas wave. Suites are always. We're always our own credit assists So yeah just take it for Just hope you'll enjoy it's not. I'm i'm sure people were. I really did unfortunately dj rock clubs or when we when we were open. I mean i've played epic tracks before. So i'm gonna try and play that because i do sometimes get the kind of warm up slots and stuff. Yeah my donald trump that nice long. Track lovely yeah. We'll see how that guy. I'm limited on time with the i've got a little bit a couple of minutes left with your mouth off now slopped. Ten minutes left ten minutes. Oh wow okay. Let's go on to my final questions if you will so i want to find out. This is the kind of questions asked everyone that. Come on the show. So these are my like typical. Finishes one one in front of your three. If you could pinpoint three albums that were pivotal. The ones in the ones that kind of made you want to pick up an instrument like when you're a kid you had this. I want pay the qatar or wanna play The other instrument apply. What three albums could you pinpoint throughout your career. That kind of really represent you as a musician kinetic four. Yeah okay so that would be teaser by on the berlin sabotage black sabbath by black sabbath In rock by the purple visions of the emerald beyond by mafia snow orchestra..

"For a while that it it really became something that was more of a priority when that the primary way we were going to celebrate off tangent was was going to get pulled, which was which was the festival appearance. and. Then it's just you know it's morphed into. A cool. In a way, you know it's less. will more tangible celebration of it to to release in a slightly different way because the The work that we had done at the time. The front cover was with something that we had to pull together quite loss minute opportunity to reevaluate the. Visuals were associated with the record update them. And I don't think about them because they're going to be on twelve inches of Piper instead of four inches of paper. Just, was a cool of to see. And it just if it went from being like A. No festivals to where we could do the vinyl into. This tiny things going to be really cool in these. Respects, more excitement. Amazing. I've always want myself over his one to release something on vinyl never had the opportunity I'm working on the moment buff never had anything of my done on that. And it's a format absolutely adore because it's it's just something that reminds me of my childhood of messing around with records at my my dad had or I had my brother had because he was worried about Dj. Seven inches and stuff everywhere. Okay. And she threw. Me From. Of more DJ related stuff. turntables me. And that's all I saw like. Recent music come outside and carries new album for instance and. I've got like cones new with that kind of stuff and even going back. Boston Death Titans and always of participate in record store is always pick up at least one release of someone's. Just of the new stuff. Bob. How stuff as well just stuff that I inherited from my dad and. Classic, but it's just it's just a form I love like of the. Data Vinyl is very different I'll scratch it. Don't do that with the classic albums. As. Tempting as it is. But. It's I just love that format and I haven't you guys that she puts me me out because I remember. Back when you did your Part this question anyway. But when you did your crowdfunding album. Before. It struck me that you didn't do vinyl then. In as an option. Because you had like various. See you get a print you know the usual stuff from kickstarter and stuff. What's she doing this? Now, you're using the preorder of mainly the sort of like cash generation of it, but we're doing so a kickstarter this time round. It, was. Partially. Our. preferred. Platform. Had made some mistakes. And so the going concern and so it. It felt a little bit like that crowdfunding using an intermediary of a reputation because. A pledge folded in and took money with it and so it left. Bands without access to the funding they needed fans deprived of. Of the materials that they had kind of pipe to get so..

Like being bullied and whatnot when I, was younger but nothing compared to a lifetime of. Like companies of being belittled by. These. Well Yeah Yeah. I know what you're saying but. It shouldn't you know everybody's experience is a bit different like for me. I don't I would never articulated as a lifetime of being oppressed right? Because that's certainly not the case at certain times. I would even use the word bullied in the way you just use it. In the place of like any racist whatever thing coming against me I. Felt like bullying. But with the foundation of racism or whatever. But again though you know I'm lucky though. Because my parents came here as college graduates and always embrace me in middle class neighborhoods. You know what I mean Zo, but so when I look at like. "Sue. Records come into new seven issues for portable our really. That's my shopping list. Dot Com be able to pick it up. Yeah. Coal Novel UK before. So that's all I. Can do that last still got one of the t shirts order from falling apart but I'm not gonNA frown. So got out Adidas t shirt you guys did with the On the front with the BDO. And That's on the back of daydream about scratching. WAS A. Long time ago that one. Yeah Oh my God you got. Oh, does are rare. Yeah. Falling apart. I. Wore it to death. So. It's. Like hose on it and that kind of stuff. So it's like. A proper and seek at this point but I'm not gonNA, keep it and maybe. Maybe stick in a frame I think that's going to. Put my CD. But are still go that I can go bungee records. From, that style to this of like. Sale. Stuff as well. I'm confident of the names of the moment, but I've got more only my record books so. Like I say longtime fan and collector supporters call on that front. Per Year at also wants to like unlike the because I've been wanting to try the photon failure, how did how did that coming to you? So of? Like, like. We got this like the aspects of like just having fun and engineers. Yes. But. Incorporating that with like telephone lines and stuff like that. That come from what was Salona wants to convince everything but just having something that small just for that sort of thing it just sort of. In, create crazy to me I really want to just at like. A violin players or whatever guitarist they go wherever they want that type thing. So we yeah, no, it makes sense. That's why go into the poor thing. I can just take a box with me and a battery and that's it. And then go off into a couple of. Linkup events and stuff that people have. Is Really Cool community actually that was the one thing I really like about it it's the community spirit behind it because I never felt that before like early days with scratching side of things. But only with like people not with other deejays, kind of ways and I really standoffish I don't know if it's in our nature to be or not. But..

"Like the physical switch kind of like a separate from the turntables as well We had to. Actually. We didn't in the DMC we had to turn the mixer sideways. Scratch with like in that way or or a data out or would turn my head sideways if I remember correctly in that battle. Nineteen ninety-three was on the technical. The That Mixer Yeah Yeah I've got one of those summer. Take expensive. It might have been a mellows mixer. It was beef. No I think it was right before the. No I think it was right before the the really difficult techniques mixer. Cool. I. Mean. There's like you had this of like..

"I just kind of spilled over into my life right on anti radio you just WanNa hear stuff too. No one's ever heard before you know so it's kind of kind of the same. Yeah. Yeah. No I definitely get that I love because I dj Rock clubs and stuff in the. Do play out quite often and I always like. We we don't get that kind of music on the radio here I know I lived in the states for a little bit and there's like dedicated rock stations. For that on FM frequency I M whatever frequency you want to listen to hear you want to get it is Internet there's one on on on on the sort of like. Digital side of things if you will. But nothing on the AM FM really unless it's localized. Or like a one show per week. Car thing. What are you talking? About right now. Even. That's true. It is true. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean right now the radio is just it's just designed the club music. Foy So you know you just you can. Grinham. Listen to talk radio than the music radio unfortunately. Rather listen to something that can learn on youtube rather than with on the radio. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. So Dj for for an intimate bay station Ruck L. Music and stuff like that. So I guess a flex that muscle on the radio if you will but yeah, no, I love that stuff you here and That sort of stuff that I really kind of gravitate to like. That's what I love about. Rock music generally is quite skew here still. Get so big bands which you get everywhere. You slipknot Sheron Maidens, your whatnot, metallica's and stuff but. But yeah just like any like newer staff fall or stuff that kind of just sort of. Does well, on playlists now is the new thing. But yeah. Now that's really cool. So what? Over the years you've been doing this because you've been on this. How long been? tablist four, the one, thousand, nine, hundred, five, anthem, eight, thousand, five. Twenty five point. How will you that point? I was fifteen years old when I started scratching. Okay and who got you into the scratching side of things one of my homies he was just like. I was collecting. Breaker music and. Electro music and some hip hop, and then you're like, Hey, what you bring all your records to the to my garage we can have bring some of the homeys over in the wall wall dance and so they're all keys fifteen, sixteen, Thirteen, twelve years old. I'll just dance and having a good time and we're playing records ending and then he goes, Hey, look at this and he went on top of the record and when you're in your area and I was like, oh, man, that's crazy. That's how you scratch..

Some feels like I've been doing various Jays and Cuba came back to me very quickly and we exchanged numbers and we started texting and then within. About an hour of of of talking via text, we were actually speaking which was amazing and managed to capture the compensation as part of an interview type thing But yeah it was like it was one of those kind of spur of the moment I was I was I was poverty frankly time prepared nine hundred, Asia have Sherri notes for these things and. Didn't have anything. So it was kind of just off the cuff and Yeah. I've been holding onto this for about a month now, which has been another like big thing because I'm like we don't.
